Thinkpad Yoga 15 orientation not working windows 10

Question: Thinkpad Yoga 15 orientation not working windows 10

Has anyone else had issues with Thinkpad Yoga 15 orientation not working windows 10?I realize the lenovo support page states it should be in tablet mode in windows 10 and the device itself for the orientation tile to appear, but The windows 10 orientation tile is not even appearing.I know there is a rotation lock button on the side of the laptop, nothing seems to appear when pushing it.I can manually set the orientation through Intel control panel settings and through windows 10 display settings.I've tried in table mode, restarting the laptop in tablet mode, still doesn't work. The SensorService is running in services. Is there a way to verify the SDO sensor is being loaded by this service?I've installed both Chipset device software win 10 x64, and intel management engine win 10 x64 from the lenovo website.I feel I'm missing/havn't tried something, just havn't figured out what yet, any ideas? Thanks,anthany11

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Answer: Thinkpad Yoga 15 orientation not working windows 10

Hi Can you check the Windows "Device Manager" and see if by any chance is there a device that is not recognize or does not has the correct drivers? I have a Thinkpad Yoga 14 and there is a driver that detects if it on laptop or slate mode. When it came to driver I always try:1)"System Update" utility from Lenovo. If you do not have it already installed check it here. 2) The Intel Driver Update Utility,. to update Intel drivers. AMD has his own tool. (Under your own risk) 3) If you have experience installing drivers on Windows. I found it very usefull to use DriverEasy. It offers good enought (freeware) driver recognition of the things installed on your machine. But please notice that installing the wrong driver may screw things up. (Under your own risk) Remember that Intel Driver Update Utility and DriverEasy are not supported by Lenovo, this is only a suggestion to try to get the latest driver for your machine. Regards

I upgraded my Yoga 2 Pro to windows 10, and experienced some of the problems related to CPU throttling in tablet mode (running super slow) and they keyboard being disabled after suspend. After trying to upgrade drivers (none were newer that what was provided along with Windows 10) I reset Windows 10 (http://www.qoncious.com/questions/how-restore-windows-10-factory-settings) and it seems those two problems are gone, however I do have a new one It seems like the sensors are not being detected correctly. The screen rotation orientation is not being detected, and the position of the screen is also not being detected when it's flipped back.Device manager shows:- HID Sensor Collection V2- Sdo Sensor V2 10.0.10240.16384Related Computer Management Services appear to be up too:- Sensor Data Service (not running - running it doesn't seem to matter)- Sensor Monitoring Service (running)- Sensor Service (running)Any suggestions on how to fix this would be appreciated. Until then, hope this helps others get a usable Laptop running W10 at the least!Note - YMC is not anywhere to be found - and flipping the laptop still disables the keyboard but only at full rotation...I've read about this elsewhere on the net. Seems like we still need some drivers from Lenovo..

Answer:Yoga 2 Pro Windows 10 device orientation sensors not working windows 10

Just an update, i tried installing Transition 2.0 as recommended by another thread, but it didn't help. What it did do was add back the YMC service. The scary thing is, after uninstalling Transition 2.0, the YMC service still exists and runs automatically...

So I don't use my thinkpad usualy in tablet mode, but today i did and when I tried to turn the laptop the screen of course remained still, so I started digging. There are a lot of solutions on the web for this, but none helped me so far, the interesting thing is that there is no option to enable or disable the auto-rotation in the settings or the action center. Updated all the drivers, also the hardware seems to work properly. I hope somebody encountered and solved this issue and can help me as well.Cheers, Dan.??

Hi all, I got my Lenovo Yoga Pro since 2 weeks now... and apart from the following issue I love this machine! However: the autorotation only works for Laptop, Tent and Tablet mode. Stand mode and Portait orientation donīt work at all.If I fold it to Stand mode, it seems to detect Tabled mode (????) and flips the image upside down. Very annoying, reproducible and unsolvable so far!If I hold it vertically (donīt matter which mode it is in), it wonīt rotate to Portrait. I already made a recovery (complete re-installation), but no change. Any suggestions? This issue is quite annoying, since those modes are the main reason why I bought this machine!!!!!

Ever since the novembeer 1511 update my orientation sensor doesn't work. I've tried several solutions, involving trying to force it enabled in the registry. The  feature is indeed enabled in Windows, though after the update auto rotate was hidden from settings. It seems that the computer does not detect the sensor or find proper drivers for it. Anyone else experience this? Can anyone send me their drivers?

Hi.I've been using ThinkPad Yoga for 4 days, and realized a problem regarding the rotation/orientation across the Laptop/Tent/Tablet modes. If I enter the Tablet mode (after flipping LCD to 360 degree), make several rotations with or without screen rotation lock, and come back to standard Laptop mode, then the orientation of TrackPad AND TrackPoint does not match the orientation of the screen. Does any one experience the same problem? Or, am I only one who have this problem? When I first open the box and use this machine, I didn't realize this problem. Maybe this is caused after I installed many programs and drivers.  So, I would appreciate very much if you let me know that you "don't have such a problem".It will also help me. Thank you!

if I install Windows 7 on my Yoga 11, are there drivers for it to handle the different orientations properly?

Answer:Yoga 11, Windows 7... do you lose orientation sensor?

Hi pookguy88,thanks for posting. Just wanted to check with you if you have Yoga11 or the Yoga11s?If you have the Yoga 11, you may not be able to install the Win7 the processor runs on Nvidia tegra which were mostly meant for tablets. Hence the reason why Windows 8 RT is the primary and only OS installed. If you you have the Yoga 11s, then this might but be a different story, as the processor is capable to run a full version of windows. If you plan to run Win7 on the 11s, there is chance that you might go through some frustration as there could be some components that will require you to source out yourself for the drivers.Hope this explains it.Regards

I just upgraded my Thinkpad S3 Yoga 14 to Windows 10 today. After the upgrade, the Wifi network stopped working. Device was reported correctly installed on Device Manager, but available Wifi networks weren't shown.I tried a lot of things, uninstalling the Wifi device from Device Manager, updating to the Windows 10 lastest drivers from the Lenovo Support page, installing old driver versions of the Wifi card... reboots, reboots, a lot of reboots. No success. Finally I'm going back to Windows 8.1. I waste a lot of time of work trying to solve that problem. A not working Wifi network is a big issue for me, my work is 100% network connected. My WiFi card is:Intel(R) Dual Band Wireless-AC 7260Anyone else with this problem?ThanksLeonardo

Answer:Thinkpad S3 Yoga 14 Windows 10 (Final Version) WiFi Not Working

I have upgraded 3 different Yoga 14 systems to Win10 and I never saw this problem.  We have heard that AV/firewall/security software might cause this issue.  Do you have any software like that installed?  If so, please try uninstalling it and see if WiFi works under Win10.

I updated the BIOS recenlty at Lenovo's prompting, and since then the search function on Windows 10 hasn't worked. The two things could be unrelated, but it seems like the search function is completely absent from the system - the settings on search lead nowhere and neither does the shortcut in the Start menu or in the tray - any help gratefully received as I think of search as quite an important part of the system! Richard

Hi,

When I connect Thinkpad Yoga (model 20CD00B1US) to the onelink dock, the stylus stops working.

In order to enable the stylus and Wacom driver following 2 options/ workarounds:
1)  Manually stop and restart the Wacom ISD Service
2) or reboot the machine while the Onelink dock is attached.

I'm using the latest 7.2.0-4 Wacom driver version, all latest lenovo software installed installed on the machine.

Both above mentioned workarounds are ugly, does anybody have a better suggestion to fix this issue?

I've had my TPY for a little over a year without any issues, but today I lost the ability to use the following keys: Backspace, Windows, Left-Shift, T, Y, Tab, Capslock, [, ]  in addition to some of the function keys. Using the onscreen keybaord or an external usb keyboard works just fine. I am unable to use the tab key at the BIOS screen, so it appears to be a hardware issue. This seems to be a common problem for these keys in particular for various Lenovo models and even some Dells. I have tried reinstalling the keyboard drivers as suggested in other posts, and I have tried reseating the keyboard connection according to this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PxHKvpI8Wvc I bought this unit from the MS store with only a 1 year warranty (which is now up), so I'm not sure what to do. I can try replacing the keyboard but it appears others have had only limited success with replacement. Has anyone else dealt with this problem?

Hello, I have a Yoga 13 laptop that I upgraded from Windows 8 to Windows 8 Pro and then to Windows 8.1 Pro. I've been having a problem when I have the notebook in a different (flip or fold) when the display orientation changes. The problem being that when i have it in any orientation, the graphics quality takes dump. You notice it specially when playing video, whether is be HTML5, flash, anything. The framerate drops to about 1-2 frames. sometimes it screen freeze and I cant do anything. There is still sound, only when i change the orientation back to its original laptop mode doesn't the performance comes back and the screen becomes functional. Initially thought it was a video driver issue and waited till there was an update. I have now used the latest video drivers from the Lenovo site and well as the latest Intel video drivers and I'm getting the same result. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I've just recently recieved my brand new Thinkpad Yoga, and everything seems to be ok except the microphone. Under Recording Devices of Windows 8.1, the meter is showing no activitiy even with the boost and volume turned right up. Apps like Skype etc are showing no audio being received either. I've uninstalled the audio drivers completely and reinstalled which has made no difference. The driver reports that everything is ok too. I ran through the windows audio troubleshooting tool which reports no issues as well though it is clearly not working. Any suggestions of have I received an expensive duff laptop?

So i bought a thinkpad yoga, and it came today - which I am really happy about. There's a problem though - I bought the computer thinking that I would get a pen with it and an active digitizer. I bought the computer over the phone, and i got a confirmation email saying that the base was a FHD 1080 screen. Since the only two options for the computer are either with partial HD and NO pen or with FHD and a pen, i assumed I was getting a pen or at least a digitizer with the computer. After all, I paid for it in full.  The pen did not come with the computer, however i was told that if i bought a thinkpad pen separately, it would still work. I have a digitzer pen already, but it doesn't work on this computer.  I tried to download the firmware update for the digitizer, which didn't work. I got a notice saying Current version: ????New Version: and then it said that a connection could not be established. I also tried to download the wacom feel driver, but it said that a compatible tablet was not detected.  Does anyone have any inkling what is going on here? somebody please help!!! I really don't want to have to return the laptop and have to purchase a new one.

Answer:Thinkpad yoga 3rd party pen not working

FHD screen option has both wacom and non-wacom digitiser option. Getting the FHD screen doesn't guarantee that it would have the wacom pen option. If the ordering page is listing the wacom digitiser option next to the FHD option, then that is what you should get.

Also which model Pen did you get?

Under the System Manager did you see the pen option, like the one listed below? HID-compliant digitizer and HID-Compliant Pen

So I got my Thinkpad p40 a few days ago and so far it's been great, with just one problem. The small stylus, the one that's housed in the body of the laptop doesn't work. I'm not sure if the pen itself is defective, or if the charging port is. The separate full-sized pen, the Thinkpad Pen Pro (4X80H34887) functions just fine. I've left the laptop plugged in overnight multiple nights but to no avail, and there doesn't seem to be any 'pen charging driver' in the driver list, just indicators. I've tried various programs, including Lenovo's low battery indicator and the laptop stylus simply doesn't work at all. The Pen Pro works in all the same situations. Does anyone have suggestions? Thanks!

Hi.  Since yesterday, my Fn key has stopped working.  I have tried plugging in an external keyboard and it stil does not work.  I tried switchng the Ctrl key and the Fn key in the Bios utility and this allows me to use the Fn features with the Ctrl key, but then I lose the Ctrl key function. So the key itself is not working, but the fact that the Fn key does not work on an external keyboard leads me to believe it's not a hardware issue. Any ideas?

Hello, After a clean installation of Windows 10 (and update to 10.1), my Fn key is not working even with the hotkey features integration up to date (8.80.14).Right now, the Fn key is locked through the bios and all keys functions F1-F12 (volume, brightness...) work,as they should (I can increase or decrease volume, brightness...).But the keys which need the Fn key despite of the bios lock (actual F1-F12, Esc for FnLk and Space for keyboard backlit) do not work. The problem is with the Fn key. Does anyone have a similar issue? Thank you in advance and let me know if you need further information!

I'm running windows 10, and suddenly my touchscreen stopped working. I checked in the device manager and the "HID compliant touch screen" was disconected. After trying to reinstall software, it was uninstalled and now the option does not even show up anymore. I reinstalled all lenovo drivers and im getting nothing. Windows has no idea its even there. Full disk format and a fresh copy of windows 10, and still nothing. This laptop has been through lenovo support again and again, the last time it went was kinda the last straw for me. :/ It's out of warranty now, but while it was in repair, other things on the computer were also damaged. Hence why it went back twice. But now suddenly the touch screen has stopped and I can't get a single response. Im hoping this is a driver malfunction somehow, but the touchscreen will not even show up in the device manager, not even under hidden devices. Any help?

I just recieved a brandnew Lenovo ThinkPad Yoga 14 (i5-5200U, no Graphicscard, 8GB RAM, 256GB SSD, Win8.1). After starting it for the FIRST time the UltraNav unit just isn't working. So the touchpad and Trackpoint just don't work. There even is no cursor on the screen. I restarted for a few times until there were no further updates for Windows. Still not working. Then I deinstalled the AlpsUltraNav driver, restarted and reinstalled it. Restarted, still not working. After that I thought it might be disabled in the BIOS, but I couldn't find an option to enable it, so I just loaded the default BIOS-settings. Now I can't even open the BIOS anymore (I hit Enter during startup but nothing happens)  and the UltraNav still isn't working. In the device manager it is listed as ThinkPad UltraNav and the driverversion is 8.216.1616.114. Windows says the device is working fine, but it doesn't. Has anyone an idea what could be wrong? Or is it an hardwaredefect and the UltraNav is just broken or the system thinks that the device is in tabletmode and the UltraNav is disabled? And how can I open the BIOS when hitting Enter just doesn't work?

Hi, all.  I've got the 12inch thinkpad yoga.  The left shift key works intermittently.  This started happening to me a couple of weeks ago (I've had the computer since December and haven't noticed a problem.  I sent it in twice and supposedly, they replaced the whole machine this last time, but I'm still having the problem.  Could this be a fault in this model in general? Or am I just doing something wrong?  I've never had a problem typing before... I'm a programmer and if I can't reliably type a ( without accidentally typing a 9, it makes my job extremely frustrating.  Perhaps I'm just not pressing hard enough, but the key makes the clack noise and is fully depressed, yet does not register when typing.  If I call and complain a 3rd time, can I just get a full refund?  I paid over $1500 for this computer and if I keep sending it in and they replace it with another faulty version of the same computer, I'll never get to use it and eventually the warranty will expire and I'll be screwed.

I have the Thinkpad S1 Yoga with Windows 8.1 64-bit and have constantly been installing all updates. Currently my Fn key is not working. Hi

Welcome to the forums. Can you please specify the full model number of you Thinkpad?

Before saying it is somekind of hardware problem. Can you check if by any chance do you have the Fn - Ctrl switch enabled? Maybe to togled the Fn and Ctrl buttons, there are some Thinkpad models that allows you to do that. .. just in case check if Ctrl+Spacebar turns on your keyboard.

You can check on the computer BIOS if you have that function to toogle Fn - Ctrl keys.  Also check on the BIOS (not in Windows) if you can turn the keyboard backlike with Fn+Space or Ctrl+Space.

It is just some trial error, but maybe it can work out.

Hello, I just received my new shiny TPY (again). The first time I got it, the digitizer wasn't working. After a bit of research I realized that it probably was a hardware issue (No digitizer, pen or wacom device in device-manager). So I send it back. The mainboard got replaced and today I have my machine back. It was all working fine including the digitizer. But from one minute to the other it stopped working and I can't find any wacom or digitizer devices in the device-manager.Now my first thought was, that the Windows updates messed something up, so I've done a rollback but it's still not working.Am I doing something wrong or is it a hardware issue again? Thanks for advance.Robinhuett

Answer:ThinkPad Yoga - Digitizer is not working

Hello. It isn't a Hardware Problem. It seems to be a software problem after Windows 8.1 Update. I have the same problem :-( When I start the PC it works perfect, until I used it as Tablet. After that the Digitizer Pen didn't work. So I reinstalled all drivers. After that the pen worked.. so I tested it again as Tablet, after that. the Digitizer Pen didn't work. Now I installed all drivers again but the Pen didn't worked. It is a big problem at Lenovo, because Lenovo has problems with the pen software a long time. It is soooo sad because I love the Thinkpad Yoga but with this Problem the price isn't acceptable. So I am going to send it back and wait for the Surface Pro 3. Because Thinkpad stands for the perfect Business Notebook and now... Lenovo has with the digitizer pen more problems than all others. And this is very sad :-(

I fought troubleshooting my wi-fi problem with my 13 inch yoga for about 3 hours today.  I had been having problems with lag and intermittent connections.  I set up and desktop hard wired to my router and another laptop using wireless both next to my yoga.  I then ran pingtest.net several times on all three machines.  On the desktop and laptop, I got results with 0 packet loss, pings in the teens and jitter 1-5.  On my yoga, I got up to 3% packet loss, pings 100-200 and jitter 35 - 100's.  I tried hardwiring the yoga through usb 3.0 adapter and also tried a usb wireless adapter - still got the same results.  I finally found someone who said their problems appeared or disappeared depending on the orientation of the yoga.  I had my yoga with the keyboard down and the screen tilted backwards.  For the heck of it, I set it up traditional style with the keyboard in front of me looking at the screen.  Well I be - that fixed it.  I folded it back, tested, problems.  Brought it back - worked.  Tried tent style, no dice.  The only way I could get consistently low numbers was to set it up with the keyboard in front looking at the screen. I went back to the usb adapter and discovered that it also would work properly when the yoga was set up that way.   Now, if anyone can tell me why this would make a difference, and even better, what to do about it - I would be much appreciative.  &n... Hi I hope someone can help me. I have had my S1 for about 10 months now and i have had no issues with the pen and using it. I used the pen last weekend in lectures, taking notes with no issues or problems and have gone to use it today, as part of my assignment, and it just isn't working at all. It doesn't matter if its in laptop, tent or tablet mode, i get no resposne from the pen at all. I have had a look in the device manager and have no issue notifications, but likewise, i can't locate anythingthat i think looks like the digital pen drivers (nothing Wacom in there). I have searched around the forums and o-line and can't seem to find anything that might help me. Have even searched, without finding, how to unistall and re-install the Wacom drivers. If anyone has any suggestions on how to diagnose and resolve this problem i would be really happy to receive them. many thanks for your help Chris

I purchased this computer in February and I've already had to take it in to get serviced because it stopped turning on. Now the pen and touchscreen have stopped working. Is there something I can do to fix it or would I need to take it in again?

Answer:Thinkpad 1x yoga touch screen and pen not working

What operating system?  Look in the device manager and see if there are problem devices

I have my Yoga for 5 days and the touchscreen stopped working mid-use! Tried everything I could, I also have reinstalled the factory image. Touchpad and pen are working correctly but not the touchscreen.  The HID Touch device is in the hardware manager. It's a 20C0. I've open a service request yesterday, I'm still waiting. Does anyone else had this problem with a brand new Yoga?

Answer:Thinkpad Yoga - Touchscreen not working anymore

Hi,

Welcome to Lenovo Community Forums!

I?m sorry to hear that touchscreen of your ThinkPad Yoga stopped responding.

Open Device Manager in control panel. Look for the option Human Interface Device. Under Human Interface Device, look for HID-compliant device. Right click on this option and choose Disable and then re-enable the same.

If the above said didn?t help, it could possibly be a hardware issue. I?m sure the Lenovo technical support can be of great assistance.

Regards,
Mithun.

Hello,I just recieved my Yoga Thinkpad. I love it, so far so good.So far the only problem has been with the site http://comediansincarsgettingcoffee.com/ and it's been exclusively with Chrome. The site opens fine on Explorer, and works as it should on another machine on Chrome. A friend said it worked for her on Chrome as well. So it seems to be this machine specifically. Is this a resolution issue? What settings would I need to change for it to work? It LOADS, but try to scroll or play the video and nothing happens. The screen goes white. Thanks-J

Hi,I suddenly noticed that my touch screen is not working. I have tried to update driver for HID-compliant touch screen (however best driver was alread used). Also tried to disable/enable the device but still no function. I checked the "Events" for the driver and the last event was "Device not migrated" with the following message:"Device HID\VID_056A&PID_504A&Col06\6&2fac5222&0&0005 could not be migrated.Last Device Instance Id: {DEA5AE2A-D1FD-438A-A091-CBD484788436}\Vid_0000&Pid_0000\5&18534b98&0&02Class Guid: {745A17A0-74D3-11D0-B6FE-00A0C90F57DA}Location Path: Migration Rank: 0xF000FFFFFFFFF122Present: trueStatus: 0xC0000719" The pen driver seem to work though. I noticed that outside the visible area on the screen there is a small crack in the glass. Can that cause the touch screen to not function? Regards, Torsten

My Thinkpad Yoga was unable to connect to WIDI (Netgear P2TV) out of the box.  I reinstalled Windows 8.1, over the top, and WIDI started to work.  After updates ran, WIDI stopped working.  Reinstalling Windows 8.1 fixes it again. Updates break it again.  I've been unable to determine which update is breaking it.  I went through the process of uninstalling all of the winows updates one at a time and this did not fix the problem.  I have not gone through the process of installing updates one at a time to see which one breaks it. Behavior:no "Add a wireless display" option under PROJECT.Add Device finds and installs P2TV, but no way to project to it.Reinstalling Windows 8.1 fixes problem.I think updates, either Lenovo or Windows, break it. I'm considering making this device our standard laptop for all teachers, but must resolve this issue first.  please help.

Lenovo ThinkPad Yoga S1, Windows 8.1The touchscreen stopped working, although the pen works. How can I fix it?

Answer:Touchscreen stopped working, ThinkPad Yoga

I have the same issue.  This first occurred back in May or June when it all of a sudden stopped responding to touch.  Additionally, the auto-rotation was disabled as well as the trackpad lock when the screen is bent all the way back.  I finally got around to sending it in last week and earlier this week I got it back with a factory image loaded onto the machine.  After booting up, the touchscreen was working perfectly fine as was the auto-rotation and trackpad lock.  I then proceeded to start installing Windows updates and after the last installation, I discovered that the screen had become unresponsive again!  To me, this indicates that some update had disabled the screen and indeed, under Device Manager, the HID-compliant touch screen is noted as being disconnected.  I'm not entirely sure how to reconnect the screen, so if anybody has suggestions that would be appreciated. On a separate note, I called Lenovo software support and after explaining the situation to the technician on the phone, he then told me that I would have to buy software warranty for them to fix it.  This is ridiculous!  Why should I have to pay Lenovo to fix a problem that stems from a probable incompatibiity of their own software/drivers with Windows updates?  And after I complained about this hypocrisy, he even had the gall to suggest to me to talk with a "computer-savvy friend" who might be able to help.  I spent a lot of money on this machin... Hi, I just bought a ThinkPad Yoga 460 and I have a strange problem. The internal keyboard does not work any more across operating systems, so this isn't software specific. However, the keyboard *does* work in the beginning a cold start until the operating system boots - I can enter the BIOS settings, navigate around there, I can enter the onboard diagnostics utility, everything works fine - until an operating system boots. If I just reboot without turning the computer off, the internal keyboard doesn't work. I even restored factory settings, so I am writing this from an Ubuntu Live USB with an external keyboard until I have figured out how to restore EFI, but the keyboard still isn't working. The problem occured after a long time of using only the external keyboard, so I can't exactly tell what I was doing when it happened. I'm guessing it has to do with the rotation sensor being stuck, but what would be the point of disabling the keyboard if it's physically impossible to press any buttons in tablet mode... Also, the touch pad keeps working anyway. I removed Windows from the laptop and I don't think there'd be an easy way to get it back, so I hope any solutions would work on Linux too. Best regards,Malte

So I was using my Lenovo Yoga 2 laptop for a study session. My keyboard was working fine the last time I used it, which was like ten minutes before it stopped working. Nothing on my keyboard is working, including the F controls/shortcuts. The ThinkPad is working normally and so is its corresponding right/left keys. The screen is also fine and the touch screen keyboard is working as well. My laptop isn't in tablet mode or any other mode other than laptop mode.  So basically, has anyone else had this problem and possibly share their wisdom. Also, if there are basic shortcuts that simply turn off your keyboard and can turnit back on, it'd be quite helpful, because there could be a simple fix but I wouldn't be aware since I am not very tech savvy.  Thank you so much!

I got this laptop in August, and I didn't have any problems with the laptop. However about a month ago, the 2 finger scrolling on the trackpad has stopped working. I've made sure that 2 finger scrolling is selected in the mouse settings, but no matter what I do, 2 finger scrolling doesn't work. I've updated my mouse drivers and everything to the latest versions as well, but that didn't fix the problem either. Any clues as to why this might be happening?  Thanks, Mitch

Hello all, I have a Thinkpad Yoga 14 (20FY0002US), which was purchased 14 months ago, so it is just out of warrenty. It worked great, although I only use it when I travel. Starting from a few days ago, some of keys of it are not working. These keys are near the edges of the keyboard, such as "1", "q", "a", "z", the ESC key, the windows key, the space key, and the backspace key. The keys in the middle as wel as the function keys are fine.   I believe that It is not an issue related to the windows, but the problem exists even in the BIOS. I tried to update the BIOS and the drivers, but no help. I also have disconnected and reconnected the ribbon cables of the keyboard, no help as well. Any help/suggestions? Thanks a lot.

Just picked up a new Thinkpad Yoga. Definitely thrilled by the specifications, it seems to be the perfect laptop for me combining dedicated graphics, 2 in 1 capability, and most importantly, a wacom pen. However, upon getting it home, I find the pen doesn't work whatsoever. Curious, I went back to Best Buy and tried the pen on the display model. That one doesn't work either.Do these have some sort of widespread issue with the digitizer pens not working? Is there any known fix for this?

You can change the volume in software, but neither the volume +- on the keyboard, nor the volume rocker on the side of the machine will change the volume. That is, UNLESS you open the task manager, and then click on the services tab. As long as the focus is on the services tab, then the volume on the keyboard and the rocker will both work. If you click on another window, or if you click on a tab other than the services tab, both sets of buttons stop working. Also, both sets of buttons work fine in Linux.

Hello Everyone! I have scoured the chats and have not seen a resolution for a partially working keyboard. I have a 3-yr old Thinkpad Yoga (20CD00B1US) running windows 10 (Computer was installed with 8.1). The 10 install was done months ago. Yesterday, part of my keys (entire qwerty row, Shift keys, Enter Key, Ctrl keys, and the Tab key just to name a few) decided to stop working. Note that the online keyboard functions fine, hence why I can type this message. I am unable to go to Bios because all the keys needed are not functioning and I do not have access to an external keyboard. This is my only only computer in the home. I have tried the following: 1. Fn+k =lock screen to see if that was enabled. 2.Accessed my accessibily menu to see if the keyboard screen had unneccessary toggles. Nothing is toggled. 3. Downloaded Talent Driver to see if I had outdated drivers. I have 2. Intel HD Graphics Family in 20.19.15.4549; and, Touchpad Synaptics Pointing in 19.3.4.86, although I am not sure how these will help with the keyboard issue. Please note, I can not go into BIOS because the necessary keys are not functionin. With this information, can anyone discern if this is a software or hardware issue. This will let me know if I can fix myself or take it to a certified Lenovo repair place. Thanks from Minnesota!!

I have a problem with my Thinkpad Yoga 460 which started to occur about 2 weeks ago. Sometimes after bootup the keyboard does not work when I have to supply my passphrase for the hard disk encryption. The solution I have in this situation is to turn the battery of in the UEFI setup. Then pressing the power button for 10 seconds and then enabling the battery again with the power cable. This works reliable to fix the issue, but it is very annoying and when I am at the university there is no socket to enable the battery again. Is something broken or is there a workaround for this issue?

Hi all, I've just taken ownership of the ThinkPad Yoga 370 and suspect that the Micro SD slot is faulty.  Basically, the card gets sticker into the slot once pushed in and it'll take a long time to slowly pull out the card from the slot. Also, the notebook doesn't detect the card when it's in.  Im pretty sure I got the right side of the card into the slot.  Can anyone confirm if the slot is suppose to eject the card with a "spring" motion? Cause I don't have that, that's why it's sticker.

I have a ThinkPad S1 Yoga and have been having trouble with my wireless card recently.  Often times, I will put my computer to sleep and when I wake it back up the computer fails to recognize the wireless adapter.  The only way I have found to solve this problem is to restart the computer (which, as you can imagine, is frustrating when I have multiple things open on my desktop).  Upon restarting the laptop, the computer recognizes the wireless adapter and allows me to connect to a wifi connection, but upon putting it back to sleep and waking it up, the same issue occurs. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Answer:ThinkPad Yoga Wifi not working after sleep

I have exactly the same issue. Some times even when I shut down the laptop and switch it back on after while, the wifi adaptor is disabled. This is also shown in the Lenovo solution center as the Intel Dual Band Adapter disabled. And what I normally did is go to the device manager, discable the wifi adapter and enable it again manually. then it works fine. Hope Lenovo can solve this problem.

I've recently bought a ThinkPad Yoga 14 (with Broadwell CPU) and have been trying to get a 16GB RAM module working in it without success. I bought the 16GB SO-DIMM module from I'M Intelligent Memory http://www.intelligentmemory.com/. The advise thier memory is compatible with all 5th Gen (Broadwell) Core i-series Intel processors. I see Lenovo has recently started selling their own 16GB module Part No. 4X70J32868 http://support.lenovo.com/us/en/documents/acc100204. Here only ThinkPad T450s and X250 are supported. Users on these forums have also reported the Intelligent Memory modules also work in these machines. Is there a reason for only x250, t450s supporting 16GB RAM modules? Why would other Broadwell laptops like the ThinkPad Yoga 14 not be supported? Is there something special about the CPU or BIOS on these machines? Or is this a marketing decision to restrict 16GB support only to high-end laptops?

Hi, I have a ThinkPad Yoga 12 2nd gen with these specs: -Processor: Intel core i5-5300U-Ram: 8GB-Hard Drive: Samsung 850 Pro 512GB SSD (installed by myself) and SanDisk 16GB PCIe M.2-Screen: Full HD 10 point multi-touch with Wacom digitizer-BIOS: JEET78WW (1.27) The trackpad and trackpoint on this laptop has stopped working the second time and with that, the CPU fan has halted as well, with the backlit function of the keyboard non-working as well. The fan is really important because my heavy-duty use of this machine makes it really hot real quick. My laptop is pretty much useless without it and want a solution for it. I did try to update my BIOS for this because on some forums, this was an issue fixed by updating their BIOS. The system does not recognize the Synaptics trackpad and trackpoint (yes the TRACKPOINT is not working as well) and I have tried downloading the drivers of the trackpad, but to no luck the system did not recognize the trackpad. It seems as if there is a faulty connection physically, but I could not figure it out. The first time it happened, I sent it back for an in Depot Service, but this time around, I am out of warranty and when I asked a ThinkPad Certified Technician, he recommended me to simply buy a new machine rather than getting it serviced because it would cost me more than half as much of the original price of my laptop. I really like this laptop and don't want to change it, but if I have to, the 8th generation Intel pro... Hello, I got my ThinkPad Yoga 15 about 2 weeks ago and all of a sudden the touchscreen stopped working today, so I rebooted but nothing happened. Windows doesn't recognize the Touchscreen HID Device anymore and reinstalling doesn't help. I think it's a hardware fault as the bottom middle of the screen heats up shortly after booting and the head spreads around the bottom half of the display (which wasn't the case before, when the Touchscreen still worked.)  I got the machine as an on-display from a store, it was refurbished and still has Lenovo warranty. My question is if this is covered by warranty. If not I would be very upset since this would be the second ThinkPad product in the last 2 years that broke shortly after buying and didn't get repaired.  Regards, Ken Hutchinson

Hello everyone,  I would like to connect 3 external monitors to Yoga 260. I found out that conection of 3 external displays is feasible. It is associated with turning off the native LCD, whcich is OK for me. I would like to use ThinkPad OneLink+ Dock (40A40090XX). The docking station has 2 DP and 1 VGA. The issue is I'd rather use 2 DP from docking station and one DP which is on board Yoga instead of VGA. Is such configuration possible? I would like to figure it out before I will buy the station. I've found document: https://support.lenovo.com/uu/en/documents/pd029622 , but there is nothing on using docking stations' DP and native DP in one configuration, simultaneously. Whether it is because on board DP will be disabled? The alternative is MST (eg. http://www.club-3d.com/index.php/products/reader.en/product/multi-stream-transport-mst-hub.html). Both devices are at a comparable price, and if I had confidence that the docking station will work with onboard DP simultaneously, I would choose it.  Thank you in advance, best regardsM

Since no one has replied, I would like close this discussion.  Still someone might benefit for the information, that: - I have purchased and tested ThinkPad OneLink+ Dock- it works with 3 external monitors using 2 DP from docking station and one mini-DP from Yoga itself- working configuration is as follows: 2 displays are connected to OneLink+ Dock with one active DP to DVI converter, one passive DP to DVI converter and the last one (Yogas? port) with active mini-DP to DVI converter- I didn?t try to use for example 2 or 3 passive DP to DVI converters (but I guess that 2 should do the job, but 3 will probably won?t work)- when OneLink+ Dock is attached, the HDMI port in Yoga is not working! (the information one can also find in BIOS, but no materials on-line) Best regards,Maciej

I have a Lenovo Yoga 720 13" and a Bamboo Ink Smart Stylus to use on it, both of which I got this week. For the most part they work together really well, but when the Yoga is in tablet mode and I rotate the orientation from landscape to portrait, it will no longer register the pen's signal. Even weirder, it won't register it after I flip it back to landscape, or even when it's back in laptop mode. The only way to use the stylus on it after it does this is to restart the laptop altogether. The Bluetooth still works; I can still open apps by clicking the end of the stylus. I just can't actually write anything with it. Is there an easy fix for this, some setting I can change that I'm missing? Or does this indicate a bigger problem? If anyone can shed some light on this, it'd be much appreciated.

Answer:Lenovo Yoga 720 13" won't register stylus after changing screen orientation

Hello ActuallyjordanThanks for using the Lenovo forums.Try to download the Video and Chipset drivers for the unit from the support page.

Make sure to reboot after an update on the unit.
Also, Try a static discharge for this, it may help to resolve the issue or at least get rid of any built up static on the motherboard.(If the battery is internal, please just skip the remove/replace battery steps.)1. Turn the unit off2. Remove the battery and the Mains adapter3. Press and hold the front power button for 30 seconds4. Replace the battery and the Mains adapter5. Turn the unit on as normal
Hope this helps, let us know how you get on.==================================================================================Did someone help you today? Thank them with a Kudo! If you find a post helpful and it answers your question, please mark it as an "Accepted Solution"!

My Yoga 2 Pro used to detect orientation and transition with no problem and the Transition app would pop-up the notification for Tent mode or Tablet mode, etc.   Everything worked great... then, within last couple weeks, it stopped detecting closure of the lid to trigger sleep mode (though the screen would go black) and now I've also found that it has stopped detecting the different modes and will only operate in Laptop mode...  no Tent mode, no Tablet mode, etc. Now, to put it into sleep mode, I have to select it from the Start menu and then close the lid (it does detect reopening the lid and wakes up as usual). Obviously not having the ability to use those other 3 modes kinda defeats the purpose and value of having a Yoga 2 Pro! Suggestions welcome for research to aid in restoring this functionality...

Answer:Yoga 2 Pro no longer detects orientation/transitions and lid closing for sleeping

Go to Control Panel >> Device Manager
There is Sensor devices tab there.
Can you post a screenshot of how that is looking?

One thing that you can try.
Switch off your laptop.
Disconnect power supply
Press power button for 30 seconds.
Then turn on and test.

When I set my Yoga 13 to tablet mode and set the orientation to Portrait mode, it throttles the CPU to 0.78 ghz and no matter what I run, it won't bring the CPU back to normal.  Once I flip it back to laptop mode, it's back to normal.  There needs to be an option turn the throttling featuer on or off at will. The other night I was showing my neighbor this glorious laptop and while demonstrating the game Birzzle, once in portrait mode, the game started freezing up because the CPU couldn't keep up. Any help please?

Today my digitizer stopped working for the first time since I purchased my Thinkpad Yoga several years ago. Touch screen still works as normal. I don't think it's software related because I dual boot Windows and Ubuntu and it doesn't work in either operating system. Before it would work in both operating systems, and I haven't had any updates since it was last working. Is it possible for the digitizer itself to be broken somehow? I haven't dropped the device or spilled any liquid on it. I've read elsewhere on the forum that the digitizer is powered by a capacitor that is charged within the laptop. Is this still true for Thinkpad Yogas? Are there steps I can take to diagnose the issue?

Hi all,I'm not sure if I posted in the correct forum and I'm new to this so bear with me.  So I bought this laptop around 5 months ago and only about 1 month ago the left side of the touch screen is not working. It would register that something is touching the bottom left side because I have my visual feedback turned on and after a half a minute of that, you can see it go haywire and register nearly the entire 1/3 left side. After 30 seconds of it going haywire, it would stop. And then either the entire left side or just the bottom left side would completely not register any touches at all. This wouldn't happen all the time, just every other day and definitely enough to be extremely annoying.  I bought my laptop in to get fixed for a completely unrelated problem because it's still under warranty and I told them about this issue but it doesn't seem like they fixed it and I'm thinking it's because it just didn't happen to happen to them when they had it. Also, I'm not sure if it's a software issue (since I don't think that's covered by warranty) or hardware. I have Windows 10 Pro, 64 bit OS, pen and touch support with 10 points.  Is there anyway that you guys can help me on this? It would be much appreciated.

Hello,on the Lenovo Yoga notebook S1 (20CD00E0MC) with Win 8.1 not working microphone and camera.BIOS:BIOS is the current version (UEFI: 1.26 / ECP: 1.26 of 8/19/2015).The BIOS devices are allowed, but Win 8.1 with them stopped working (devices don? work).Tool Lenovo Solution Center didn't found the problem (hardware scan). System update tool doesn't report anything important.Everything is downloaded from the address http://support.lenovo.com/cz/cs/products/laptops-and-netbooks/thinkpad-yoga-series-laptops/thinkpad-...The attempt to reinstall the drivers Integrated Camera Driver (720P 1M) for Windows 10 (64-bit), 8.1 (64-bit) - ThinkPad Yoga, file gqc108ww.exe.Reported: "No Appropriate Driver to be installed".The attempt to reinstall the drivers Conexant CX20751 Audio Driver for Windows 10 (64-bit), 8.1 (64-bit) - ThinkPad Yoga, file gqa111ww.exe.Installation was correct. In other discussions was the conclusion contact Lenovo support, but I'm interested in:1. What drivers are another needed (please link)?2. What do I have to check the settings in Windows 8.1?3. What should I check in Windows 8.1 (the existence of libraries - which, drivers - which, folders in Program Files or Windows - what)? Thanks.

Hello, I recently upgraded my Lenovo Yoga 12 with an SSD HD.  After installing the hard drive and putting the back cover back on, the keyboard/trackpad/trackpoint stopped working. I troubleshooted the problem by taking off the back cover and the keyboard/trackpad/trackpoint started working.  I found out that the keyboard/t/t does not work when the middle-edge screw on the back of the laptop (an inch from the earphone jack) is screwed on.  I am currenty using the laptop with this screw taken out. Obviously this isn't that much of an inconvenience but I am concerned that the sensor? or whatever tells the laptop that the screen is past 90 degrees is malfunctioning. Does anyone else have this problem or a solution?  Thank you in advance. -J
