ThinkPad Yoga Touchpad issues

Question: ThinkPad Yoga Touchpad issues

Hi all, I'm hoping desperately you can help. The touchpad on my ThinkPad Yoga has always been iffy, since I got it, in the sense, that it seems to randomly turn itself off, especially if windows has applied an update. In the past I've been able to enable it again, but not this time. Today I went to use my laptop and the touchpad didn't respond. In the Lenovo message centre it said it was disabled (although I didn't disable it). I looked up how to enable it and ended up in the device manager. In the touchpad properties it said: This device is not present, is not working properly, or does not have all its drivers installed. (Code 24) But when I looked at the other options and asked it to update drivers, it said it was already enabled and that the drivers were up to date. So I googled more and the info seemed to indicate to uninstall the drivers, then reinstall them. So I uninstalled them, and downloaded some from the Lenovo site to reinstall. When reinstalling though, it won't work. It says the touchpad doesn't exist. Indeed now in the device manager the touchpad isn't listed, but it does say PS/2 compatible mouse there instead. This also has the same error message in the properties: This device is not present, is not working properly, or does not have all its drivers installed. (Code 24) In the Lenovo message centre it now also says that this is disabled too. I've redownloaded and installed the drivers from the Synaptic website as well now, still to no avail. I'm seriously at my wits end. Can anyone please offer any solutions? Many sincere thanks for your kind help!

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

I have same problem. Once it happened, I solved it by formatting the computer. However this time its not working even when I format. I updated to windows 10 but still not working.

Hello. I have purchased a Lenovo ThinkPad couple of weeks ago and am struggling to get TouchPad working properly since then. What I want to achieve is a flawless TouchPad experience, which includes:Right button click with two fingers only, right click zone disabled;Natural vertical scrolling;Natural ?back? and ?forward? three-finger swipe (i. e. left to right ? backward). On the first boot-up my laptop updated UltraNav drivers to the latest version from Lenovo support site. It?s version 17.0.12.60 from January 14 2014. This driver is not stable at all and has various issues and drawbacks:Metro apps are crashing when scrolling (Twitter, Facebook etc); You need to click and activate the scrolling zone, hovering the cursor over it is not enough. As a result in start menu tiles are selected successively while scrolling (white border around), and you can?t check several tiles if you need to scroll; It?s impossible to disable the right-click zone; When scrolling in classic-UI apps the cursor sometimes changes to an arrow with a scrollbar. This inconsistency is annoying.Driver tuning window is all crippled, labels are not formatted properly, and some of them are not visible; It is impossible to change to natural backward and forward swipe.I then downgraded to Lenovo?s driver 17.0.9 as of October 25 2013. It performs better but still has all issues of 17.0.12.60 apart from Metro apps crashing.I decided to download and install the original driver from Synaptics web si... Read more

I've done furhter researching and found out some other strange Lenovo's TouchPad driver behaviour. In any verion you can't simply change registry values to fine tune TouchPad. Every single value is overwritten by Rundll32.exe and SynTPEnh.exe each time the system starts or mouse settings opened. As a result you can't disable right button (ExButton4Action key). Version 17.0.9 does not make Metro apps crash and scrolling works without activating selection (no white border around tiles). It also disables right button for both one- and two-finger click if you turn off two-finger click.

Hello. I am having serious problems with my Thinkpad Yoga(20CD0038GE) Touchpad. I'm on the newest driver (18.0.7.40) and on Windows 8.1 Update 1. Very often after starting up the laptop the touchpad doesn't recognize any movement so the cursor stays still. However I can still scroll with two fingers. If I start Synmood.exe I can see that it actually does recognize touch input but the cursor does not move. Also the touchpad is not listed in the touchpad settings then. A restart seems to solve this but doing this every time is very time consuming and distracting. Also very often the two finger right click option disables itself without any reason. I couldn't reproduce this as it always happens at a random time. I always have to go back to the Touchpad settings and recheck the two finger right click option. Scrolling is very bugged and inconsistent. In Firefox it is very laggy and slow whereas in Internet Explorer it's very fluid. In Steam it doesn't work at all. Sometimes the Synaptics drivers won't load at all and I have to manually start them to get access to all the gestures. Even then it may not work and I have to restart the whole laptop. I already reinstalled the drivers two times to see if it gets better but it doesn't change. Downgrading to an older driver brings up different problems which are even worse. All this is very annoying distracting and hinders me from doing my work. I want to know if there other people with similar issues a... Read more

I've been trying to adjust to the ELAN touchpad that is shipping with the new BestBuy TPY 14 Yoga. I've had this laptop for 5 days now and I am really fustrated with the ELAN touchpad / drivers and how two finger scrolling works.  I've owned 6 thinkpads over the years and none have ever used an ELAN touchpad. I don't know if there is such a thing but the touchpad uses ELAN drivers not synaptic. Windows 10 Home, using standard Lenovo drivers across the board. Uninstalled and reinstalled lateest ELAN drivers several times. EDGE and IE pages are scrolling slow sometimes, very fast sometimes, and fail to scroll at other times. Depends on the site I visit and seems consistent on those sites. Rarely is the two finger scroll perfect. Synaptic drivers always work perfectly on my old thinkpads with those touchpads.MS Main and Outlook scrolling the list of emails will not scroll. The scroll pointer icon appears but no movement. I have to finger scroll.I have adjusted the touchpad speed and mouse speed. I've checked and unchecked Enhanced Pointer options. The only think that these settings did was to slow down the perfect pages making these changes worse. Fast is fast ALL THE TIME. I absolutly love this laptop but this ELAN touchpad turns it into a potential boat anchor and renders it usless if you have ever gotten use to using a good one. I have a couple more days before returning. Are there any suggestions that might fix these issues or is this expec... Read more

I'm using a Lenovo Yoga Thinkpad 11e 3rd gen running windows 10, and I cannot for the life of me figure out how to disable the touchpad. I've tried going into the mouse settings, but the 'thinkpad' tab does not have an option for disabling the touchpad entirely, only various customization options. I can't uninstall the drivers, as the option is greyed out, and I can't even disable it via BIOS, as the option isn't present at all. Can anyone help me out?

Hi all, Amongst its main problem of the screen retentions my Yoga has a really annoying problem of when you are using the touchpad and use a single tap to click, the touchpad makes a hollow clicky noise. It's difficult to explain but inexplicably annoying...........if you press it down hard and engage the left click button it may disappear for a while but soon comes back......Anyone else suffer from this? Seem to notice it more when keyboard vertical E.g when using in bed...... Thanks Steve

Answer:Thinkpad Yoga Clicky Touchpad

Mine was the same since new.. Just fixed it and its really simple. Unscrew the back & carefully remove,Unplug and remove the battery (5? screws careful not to overtighten on reassemly, plastic holes are weak)Unscrew and remove the touchpad (6 screws)Get some alcohol (IPA) (Isopropanol Alchohol, not Indian Pale Ale) on a cotton bud and wipe the sticky adhesive that has crept out from underneath the 2 tiny black plastic pads that are stuck to the stainless steel metalwork (on the touch pad).  Ironically, i suspect these pads are there to stop the sheet metal from "clacking" against the case metalwork casting when you let go of the TP, unfortunately the adhesive has leached round to the front of the pad and makes a nasty smacking noise everytime you put the lightest of pressure ont he TP. picture some goop between your thumb and forfinger and the noise it makes when you try and separate them. hope this helps, it was driving me bonkers.

Thinkpad Yoga user here.  I'm having a problem when I wake my computer up from sleep (or sometimes on re-boot) the trackpoint and touchpad do not work.  The touch screen is still fine and if I plug in a USB mouse the cursor shows up then. This has been happening intermittently over the past 2 months or so, it is becomming more frequent. It usually requires a hard reboot (where I hold the power button until the machine turns off) before the trackpoint and touchpad come back.  Recently even this hasn't worked every time.  It has come to the point where, if I put my computer into sleep, there's probably a 75% chance the pointers won't work when I wake it up and that it will require multiple re-boots to get them back. I don't know if this is an issue with the synaptic drivers (I've updated them, reverted to older versions, uninstalled and reinstalled but the problem continues). Or maybe it is a hardware problem, I'm not sure. If anyone (preferably lenovo) has any suggestions on how to fix this, I wold be very appreciative. Thanks!

Got my new TP Yoga and have problems with my touchpad and cursor: when moving around the screen it selects text as if I was trying to, say, copy and paste, it captures blocks of text as if I am trying to move them around, without me trying to do this.Initially I updated drivers through the Lenovo Solution Center, including UltraNav drivers. That didn't work.I reset the system, still same thing, then I uninstalled the Synaptics UltraNav driver and that didn't solve it either.Any suggestions would be highly appreciated.System:TP Yoga S1i7-4500U @1.80GHz8gb ramWIN8.1 Prowith pen

Answer:Thinkpad Yoga touchpad and cursor problems

I was thinking perhaps the click sensitivity is too high? i do not have this problem as you have described, but for me, the synaptics touch pad is practically unusable. I've been looking for a fix to my issues as well, as many people claim that calling lenovo leads to shipping it back for repair and ending up in a far worse condition. Did you recieve the trackpad with the oleophobic coating that causes high friction as opposed to the supposed glass feel? my issue is that when moving the cursor diagonally on the trackpad, it obviously creates squiggles up and down as if the cursor does not have a full range in motion.

Hello, my Thinkpad Yoga touchpad has decided to entirely stop working. Here's what happened: A couple of days ago, I re-start my computer. On boot, I get a beep error saying something along the lines of "device not found" and another saying "device number not correct." Sorry if I don't remember the details, I didn't think it would be a big issue at the time. It told me to press escape to continue and enter to enter setup. I click continue. It boot up, yet my touchpad was entirely non-functional. When looking at the device manager part of Lenovo Solution Center, I see the following: Drivers                                                            StatusUnknown Device                                            Not InstalledThinkPad UltraNav Pointing Device               Disabled When I go into device manager, I see something different, however. So I've had this Yoga 12 for about 3 moths now. In the past month, after I installed a new windows update, the touchpad and trackpoint would not work, like it was disabled. I tried uninstalling the driver and reinstalling-- did not work. I even reset the computer. STILL DID NOT WORK. So I ran the driver verifier which told me that the one of Lenovo products had problem with it--I don't remember which one-- so I uninstalled it. Still didn't work. After all that, I tried for the last time to uninstall the synaptics drive. When I uninstalled it... it was still there! I don't know how, but it was still there and now the touchpad and trackpoint both works. Well, sporadically. It will work for a few minutes, then won't work for a few minutes (or more). So.. that's where I am now (actually, right now, as I am writing this, only the trackpoint is working. oop nvm it stopped working). Any thoughts on how to fix this problem? Thanks! Also, when the touchpad & trackpoint works, the windows buttons are more condensed, while when it doesn't work, the buttons are more spread out (see below links). "condensed""spread out" p.s. also, does anybody's computer lag severely when you press the CapsLock button?? Which kind of disables the keyboard for a solid 7 seconds???

Hey guys, today I've got my new Thinkpad Yoga and it's really nice but I don't know if it's the driver or the touchpad it self. I can't push the right mouse button. Whether I use the double tab nor the right corner (at the top or bottom), nothing happens. left click works fine, but only if I activate the on tab option. Already tried to uninstall the driver and reinstallt the new version from the website nothing changed. And sometimes the touchpad and the trackpoint don't work at all. I'm using Windows 8.1 x64. Thanks for your help! lg

Answer:thinkpad yoga touchpad right click does not work

I've recognized something. Sometimes when I use a "click" function of the touchpad a small touchpad icon appears on the notification area. But you can see it only a short time. I think it is definitely a driver issue. Am I the only one?

I've had this  model for a couple of months now and I just can't get used to the touchpad. Either it's too sensitive, or it's very slow, and the responsiveness generally seems "off". Can anyone else confirm this? If you are happy with yours maybe you could share your settings with me, or maybe there is some kind of firmware upgrade etc. for the tochpad?

I just got my X1 Yoga yesterday, and for the most part it's quite nice.  I've got a bit of an issue with the touchpad though.  Has anybody else noticed that it's a bit "floaty"?  With just the slightest touch (i.e. even less weight than typical usage), the whole touchpad surface will sink maybe 1mm or less, until it's flush with the bottom groove.  When I let my finger up, the touchpad surface will bounce back until it's flush with the palm rest.  When it does this, it produces a slight "thunk" and sounds as if the entire palm rest is making a clicking sound.  I'm not talking about when I press down to click either -- that works as expected.  Is this supposed to be normal?  I use an E450 thinkpad at work, and the touchpad surface is rock solid and does not shift position. I took a video to illustrate what I mean and attached it here in the zip file (since a mp4 file is not a supported file format for uploading)

As the title says, my trackpoint, keyboard backlight and touchpad have stopped working. The problem happened a few weeks after I updated from windows 8.1 to windows 10. I have tried updating ultranav drivers, resetting windows 10 (which was a bit of a pain given that I will now have to reinstall all my software) and then reverting to windows 8.1 after none of the above worked. Fortunately my touchscreen and mouse support is still ok, but I can't work in low light conditions without my keyboard light. Can anyone help? I see that some Yoga 12 users report similar problems after a fuse fails. Does anyone know if this occurs on the S1 Yoga?

This is meant as a bug report. Hopefully someone from Lenovo is reading this. I have a ThinkPad Yoga X1 (1st gen). A few days ago, the System Update utility updated the touchpad driver to version 19.3.4.119. I'm having 2 issues: 1) I do not use my touchpad and therefore disable it. However, every time my machine comes out of sleep or reboots, the touchpad is re-enabled. I disable it "correctly" by going to (Start Menu) -> (Mouse Settings) -> (Additional Mouse Options) -> (ThinkPad tab) -> Uncheck "Enable touchpad".  2) If I enable the touchpad and click the settings button next to "Enable touchpad", the Synaptics Control Panel window appears. This window is very unresponsive. And when I click on the "Click" tab, I get repeated errors that "The parameter value is invalid."  I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the driver to no avail. I cannot find an older version of the driver at Lenovo's website. Please fix.

Hi, I bought a Thinkpad Yoga 260 two weeks ago and it has this annoying problem that touchpad stops responding time to time. It can happen during working with laptop for few seconds or just completely goes off that I have to restart the machine. Also sometimes when it wakes up the touchpad does not respond. Please advise if I have to send it back or there is a fix for it. I have all drivers updated and lenovo companion does not find any issue regarding driver date or hardware defect.  I am really disappointed for this price tag receving such a poor quality device.  Parham

Hi, After upgrade to Windows 10 I noticed a major bug in touchpad driver. If you turn on TPY (from complete shutdown or sleep/hibernation), while leptop is tilted to one side, then the touchpad works in right angle to the regular finger movements. The incorrect movement of pointer will not resolve unless you turn on TPY again in a complete horizontal setting. The bug is only seen in Windows 10 and I did not have this bug in Windows 8.1. I'm using the latest driver: Synaptics ThinkPad UltraNav Driver Version 19.0.17. 2 Anybody tried this so far?I wish Lenovo solve the issue soon. Thanks,Amir

After using the ThinkPad Yoga 260 for about two weeks, both the trackpoint and touchpad are now unresponsive. I've tried updating the drivers, rolling back the drivers and uninstalling the drivers and installing the latest one. None of it works. I managed to get it working once with a BIOS update but as soon as I put it in sleep mode, both became unresponsive again. Under Mouse Porperties the TouchPad option is grayed out and the TrackPoint option is sometimes grayed out and sometimes not. Regardless, it is completely unresponsive when enabled and disabled.

I have a ThinkPad Yoga S1 with a clean and up-to-date installation of Windows 10 Pro. Synaptics driver version 19.0.17.27 is installed.Two-finger touchpad scrolling rarely works in several UWP/Metro apps such as Calendar and Groove Music. When I attempt to scroll, a little crosshair appears on the screen and moves up and down instead of moving the page. Every once in a while it actually does scroll, but only at random and immediatey stops working again.Strangely enough, if the UWP window is in the background behind another window and isn't currently in focus, two-finger scrolling works fine. Non-UWP/Metro applications do not seem to be affected by this problem.Any help would be greatly appreciated.-gyokuroEDIT: I found a temporary workaround right after I posted this that doesn't fix the issue, but at least makes it less of an annoyance until this is fixed. If you click on the taskbar and then try to scroll in a UWP app, it works fine, and the tiny crosshair doesn't appear either.

I have a Thinkpad Yoga 12 64-bit running on Windows 10.  The touchpad cursor often stops responding to the Left-click.  I still can move the cursor with my finger, but if I click or tap anywhere on the pad, it will respond as if a Right-click is pressed.  Sometimes the cursor is totally frozen, and not responding at all.  These episodes would last for several minutes.   My UltraNav driver version is 16.6.4.13.  When I tried to do a driver update, the response is always that I have the latest driver.  Please help if another driver version would resolve this issue.   If this issue and resolution has been posted somewhere else on the forum, please help direct me to it.  Thank you very much.

Answer:ThinkPad Yoga 12 touchpad cursor freeze

Hi hung93
Welcome to the forums.

There had been some discussion on other threads about the Thinkpad Yoga 12.

What is recommed is that you update your BIOS and the drivers of your computer first.
Is it your model number the 20DL? If so, this is the support site:
http://support.lenovo.com/us/en/products/laptops-and-netbooks/thinkpad-yoga-series-laptops/thinkpad-...

But there was also a post by Lenovo that says this this:

Due to customer reports that the touchpad and trackpoint on Yoga 12 laptops randomly stop working, a solution has been put in place.

If you are experiencing this issue and your ThinkPad Yoga 12 was manufactured prior to October 2015, please contact Lenovo Service for Support and reference Service TIP #SF15-T0095/ HT116650. The fix requires the laptop be serviced.

Thank you,

Just also keep that in mind .

I hope it helps.

Regards

I am running the latest drivers from Lenovo's website and I have noticed that after a while (possibly after putting my computer to sleep and waking it up again), the ETD Control Center (which must be running in order to have full touchpad functionality) will constantly use ~30% CPU. This obviously impacts battery life, but it also makes my laptop produce more heat and noise than it would otherwise, while running slower. It is undesirable behavior. I have already tried uninstalling the drivers and reinstalling them, running the older version, or running the newer version. Nothing helps. Whenever this software is running, it does not take long before it is thrashing my CPU. Currently I am running the latest version of the software that is available on Lenovo's website, and I have updated everything possible using Lenovo's update software. I am running windows 10 and have the Elan touchpad drivers installed. Hi Gudvinus,

Welcome to Lenovo Community Forums!

I?m sorry to hear that you are getting loud clicking noise from the touchpad of your ThinkPad Yoga.

Check if the sound is mechanical from the device itself and not related to the speakers at all.  If it is mechanical, possibly something is loose under the touchpad.

I strongly recommend you to contact our technical support for assistance.

Well I lost my old user id after Lenovo implemented their superfluous Lenovo ID here in the forums, so this looks like my first post.Problem is that after long stints of typing the touchpad acts as if Palmcheck is still enabled and won't move for a moment, though I've turned Palmcheck down to the minimum. It only happens after long periods of typing, and after that initial pause it doesn't happen for a good long while. Just one more annoyance in a long list of annoyances I have with this computer. Has anyone else experienced this?

I've had my yoga for 3 days now and have noticed that the Touchpad does not disable when in tablet mode. There must be some remedy to this as it makes tablet mode fairly useless since holding the tablet moves the mouse when you inevitably touch the Touchpad. This appears to happen with the 11s model as well (http://forums.lenovo.com/t5/Idea-Windows-based-Tablets-and/Yoga-11s-Touchpad-in-Tablet-Mode/m-p/1168... and the driver mentioned as a fix does not resolve my issue.

As I type this, I'm actually becoming pretty frustrated by the fact you'd take time to school me in the ways of forum ettiquette and not provide any actual customer service. At more than $1,200, this Thinkpad Yoga's inconsistent auto-screen rotation, ever-changing touch screen calibration settings, incredibly hot case temperature while installing Photoshop and The Banner Saga, and of course, the Touchpad remaining active in tablet mode is resulting in my returning this computer. I love the weight and the keyboard, but these pros don't outweigh the cons (especially when added to Windows 8.1's inability to properly scale menus for an FHD 12.5 screen). I'll try again on Lenovo's next edition of this line.

After I bought a ThinkPad Yoga-14 UltraBook 20DM003SGE I realized that the TouchPad is unusable.

Besides a driver issue of the TouchPad with Windows sleep which I describe at https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/ThinkPad-S-Series-ThinkPad-Yoga/Thinkpad-Yoga-14-ignores-touchpad-setti...

the main problem is that the buttons are integrated and sensitive to the finger position.
Therefore the pointer jumps on every click and so misses the click point.
This is a terrible behavior that makes the Laptop unusable.
It is a pitty that I wasted a lot of money for such a primitive and unuseable hardware.

Therefore I want to report this problem and warn others not to make the same mistake.

Answer:Yoga-14 - Warning: ThinkPad TouchPad unusable beca...

Another problem with the touchpad is, that is that the front area is much more insensitive to tapping than the back. But also clicking is not possible in that area because the touchpad can only tilt to the back and so the force is to high to click in the front. In summary that means the buttons are broken and tapping is broken. So the touchpad is completely screwed up and useless. What a piece of ... Laptop. What a shame for a Thinkpad. I thought Thinkpads were better not worse. This is my first Thinkpad and I am very disappointed.

My dad got a Thinkpad Yoga 14 about a month ago and he usually uses his laptop at a 90 degree angle in bed. So when he is on his side, the laptop is on it's side as well. When he does that with the Thinkpad Yoga, the touchpad and the keyboard are disabled and he cannot use the laptop like he wants to. I think because it's a setting to not accidentally touch the keyboard or mouse when using it in tablet mode.I cannot find any setting on how to stop Windows from disabling the touchpad and keyboard on rotate. I've turned off auto-rotate but can't see anything else. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

The touch-pad stays disabled.Keyboard and everything else works fine. I have to reboot the machine to bring the touch pad back to live again.Drivers are the current one from ELAN.OS is Windows 10 64BitDoes someone know how to fix it?Kind regardsVanilla

Answer:ThinkPad Yoga 260 TouchPad stays disabled after tablet-mode

Hi

I was not able to find anything interesting on the support site of your model:
http://support.lenovo.com/us/en/products/laptops-and-netbooks/thinkpad-yoga-series-laptops/thinkpad-...

I checked the change on the ELAN drivers from 12/1/2016, but it does not says anything about the touchpad not recovering from tablet mode.
http://support.lenovo.com/us/en/products/laptops-and-netbooks/thinkpad-yoga-series-laptops/thinkpad-...

If you already installed this driver and didn't work, I don't have more ideas about it.

Hi Community!

Today I bought my very first Thinkpad (Thinkpad Yoga). Unfortunately I do seem to be too think to use it properly...

I cannot figure out, how to enable the touchpad. I do not think it is broken or something, because the trackpoint and all buttons and also two finger swipe for scrolling work fine. I just cannot move the mouse cursor with the touchpad.

I the driver setting screen the touchpad and all its options are greyed out, too (see screenshot).

Does anyone have any idea, what I may be doing wrong?

Thanks a lot!

Answer:Thinkpad Yoga 13 Touchpad is disabled - Scrolling & Gestures work

Has anyone ever made headway on this issue? I'm having the same problem. Scrolling and gestures are recognized, but moving the cursor and tap-to-click are nonfunctional. It's essentially stuck permanently in trackpoint-only mode, and the option to switch back has literally dissapeared. It started intermittently (would sometimes "fix itself" on restarting) but now the problem appears permanent and updating drivers does not solve the issue.

Hello. I just received a Thinkpad Yoga S1 and I love it but the one problem is that the touchpad is not very accurate. Whenever I try to move the cursor on the touchpad it bounces back a little from the direction it came with the distance of the bounceback depending on how fast I move the cursor. It's not a huge deal but nonetheless annoying. I am not sure if it is a driver problem or a problem with just my device. Just need a little input and/or solutions from the community. Thank you!

So I make changes on touchpad settings like below but some of the settings are lost when I reboot my computer. Are you guys experiencing similar problem? Also is there anyway to use three-finger gesture for draggings things like in Mac? Note: I save my the changes before I close the touchpad settings window.

Update: I was able to recreate the reversed scrolling direction when "Switch Direction" is deselected in Control Panel - Mouse - ThinkPad - Advanced - Scroll tab and then performing two finger scrolling on desktop applications (Internet Explorer) versus the direction used in Metro apps.

I made a video for my next level support, and I will be opening the case next.

Thanks for your patience while this moves forward.

Answer:Re: Thinkpad Yoga S1 touchpad Two Finger Scroll Switch Direction Bug

I have the latest Touchpad driver (ver 18.0.7.34) for the Thinkpad Yoga S1 and noticed that after turning off 'Switch Direction' in the 'Two Finger Scrolling' section that the setting only applies to Desktop applications. When Vertical scrolling in Modern UI/Metro/Start Screen Apps (eg Internet Explorer, App Store) Two Finger Scrolling is the opposite to the Desktop. One Finger Edge Scrolling is consistent. How anyone else noticed this? Anyone got a work around?

Hi everyone!I've got following problems:1. The trackpoint stops working once I touch a touchpad. After reboot, the trackpoint works fine, but once I touch a touchpad again, it stops.2. If there is a heavy-used usb device (like copying files from flash drive) touchpad is lagging so hard, not even funny. Is there anything can be done with those? Thanks in advance!

My Thinkpad Yoga 14 Ultrabook ignores its trackpad settings after resuming Windows 8.1 from sleep. As a result the mouse pointer moves extremly slow and insensitive according to the default settings. To reactivate my acceptable settings I have to go tocontrol panel -> mouse -> UltraNav and click OK.This is very anoying. Can the driver be fixed? I am using the latest version already and it seems to be broken!

Answer:Thinkpad Yoga 14 ignores touchpad settings after sleep on Windows 8.1. Driver broken!

Since I wrote this bug report from another computer I just notice now that the UltraNav tab is actually called ThinkPad in my mouse properties, so I have to click ok incontrol panel -> mouse -> ThinkPad .

After some time using the PC the touchpad stops registering two-finger scrolling, and starts intermittenly cutting out for a few seconds at a time (not taking any input at all). Restarting fixes it.  I tried updating my drivers as was mentioned in an earlier thread. I can verify that that does NOT fix my problems with the touchpad.  This is a really really bad serious issue. I use my PC for live performances and something like this would be terrible in a setting like that... This is something people want to be able to rely on. Besides that, this is a frustrating issue just for everyday use and I have to say it really makes me hesitant to recommend Lenovo products in the future  If you need any more info from me I will be happy to help, just let me know here. Hopefully we can resolve this issue and everyone can enjoy their Yoga 900s, because it really is a lovely piece of hardware

Answer:Yoga 900 Touchpad - serious issues remain

I had this issue with the drivers the 900 shipped with.  Either getting the latest from the lenovo support site or using device manager to get the latest driver fixed it for me.

Hello everyone, First of all, i want to apologize because english is not my first language and i am french actually. I looked for a french forum for a long time but the only one that seems useful is this one. So forgive me if i make spelling mistakes. I bought a "Lenovo Yoga 3 14'" 2 months ago and it's just amazing. Everything is great, the speed, the fluidity, the quality, etc. Last week, there was a update for the apli "Lenovo Settings" and since then i have a problem with the "touchpad input" or "softkey" (sorry i don't know the right word to use) because now when i do start the computer, the "Fn touch" (music volume or the brightness) are unavaible. I have to change the settings to make avaible the "fn touch" and when i do restart my computer, any of my settings is saved. I am very upset about it because i'm wasting my time and i don't know what to do to save my settings. Thank you for reading my message and i'm hoping that someone will help me. Once again i apologize if i make spelling mistakes.

I recently purchased a thinkpad e540. The laptop is great but the touch pad is DRIVING ME CRAZY. As an example if I start the cursor on the left and scroll to the right the cursor will occasionally stop in the center of the screen. The only way I can move it to the right is to click on it. This may bring up a page I don't want. Sometimes the cursor only moves with one finger,  sometimes two fingers sometimes three fingers. I have tried a variety of settings with no success. I can't decide if this is a problem caused by me or a defective touch pad. Is their possibly a default setting that would have the touch pad operate like the earlier ones. thanks

I've never posted on a forum like this so I hope I do so properly. Let me also say that I am NOT computer/tech saavy, so any input that you give me (advice and such) will have to be geared for a total computer novice. Please don't tell me "go change the registry" or something, because I won't know how to do that. (smile)

So here is the issue - I was issued a new T440p from work. Initially I had a problem with this wider touchpad that has the mouse buttons built into it. I wanted to deactive the "tap to click" so that it wasnt pushing the cursor all over the page. I wasn't able to do this because the correct driver was not installed. I called Lenovo and the man was able to remotely access my laptop, install that driver, and that problem was solved. Great! I was happy.

Now, a week later, I have a problem that sometimes the touchpad goes "mute." (dead? Inactive?). The cursor will be fixed in a position on the screen, and I'll have to use that red trackbutton int he middle of the keyboard to move it. The touchpad will do nothing when I swipe my finger over it. Sometimes this lasts a few seconds before it comes back on, and sometimes it will take a few minutes.

I have no idea how to stop this from happening. Is this about the driver? Is there a setting that occasionally turns off the touchpad?

Any help would be appreciated.

My email address is xxxxx if anyone wants to send thoughts. Thanks in advance from a technophobe.

I fresh installed Windows 7 Ultimate on my ThinkPad Yoga after getting fed up with windows 8.1. I now get the following error msg on each startup and the trakpad features do not work:  "synaptics touchpad 64-bit enhancements has stopped working"   I can use the mouse but non of the gestures work. I have not been able to find any other posts with similiar issues on the Yoga so any help on this would be most appreciated. The device driver installed was taken from the lonovo site and is the "Synaptics ThinkPad UltraNav. Version 18.0.7.34 (N10GX08W)"

I was having responsiveness issues with the trackpad for a while, then, i open my laptop one day and it's completely unresponsive, as well has the backlit keyboard not working (the hotkey still pops up that it's "lighting up" the keyboard, but no actual lights) and the trackpoint being completely unresponsive too. I've tried:- Restarting computer- Using Lenovo's various "fixing" softwares- Looking for a keyboard firmware shortcut for enabling/disabling trackpad, (doesn't exist on this computer)- Re installing drivers (Ultranav driver refuses to install manually, "driver installation failed")- Booting on a non microsoft OS (Booted on a linux Mint installation and it still doesn't work)- Booting into BIOS and looking for "enable/disable trackpad option", That option does not exist for me.- Opening up computer and checking the physical connection, All plugged in fine. When i open the device manager in windows there is no entry for the mouse whatsoever. The touch screen and the pen both work fine. I think it all points towards a hardware issue, i can pick up another trackpad on ebay for pretty cheap, but obviously i'd like to make sure that it would actually solve the issues.  The major confusion for me is that why would faulty trackpad hardware stop the backlit keyboard from lighting up? How are the two linked? Any ideas appreciated, Thanks!

I have a thinkpad yoga that is still until warranty until July It recently developed an issue in which I think the touchpad is a bit lose... but my biggest concern is that when I followed the links for a warranty repair to managed technical support access I created an account with my laptop serial number and created a ticket. A week later nobody called to contact me about the issue. I checked the web site and my ticket had been CANCELLED with no email or phone call/message. I put in another request today and again in the problem description it says "PRODUCT IS NOT A LENOVO PRODUCT, OPEN CALL IN THE SR TOOL." Whatever that meansI guess tomorrow I will call but sheesh what is wrong here?  Not only is the laptop not working bu **bleep** seems neither is the way to report an in warranty problem.

Hello, I just registered here yesterday because I am having lot's of troubles with my Thinkpad Yoga (i7, hdd+ssd). Starting from the delivery which was postponed for several days (day by day) I ve been having many unexpected troubles with my first Lenovo Thinkpad..... Right after having it for 2 weeks, the keyboard stopped working. First some keys where giving constantly letters to the laptop and then they stopped working. The funny thing was that only some keys did not work anymore. A repair center replaced the keyboard due to warranty, but there the problem got only slightly better.  After the repair the keyboard backlight does not work anymore and neither the trackball. Additionally I had to install all my software again because something with the mapping table was wrong... The repair shop told me they gonna check it again which is nice of course, but on the other hand I never had so many issues with a Laptop within the first two months...  4 days ago the keys F9 to F12 stopped working again and today the Laptop was totally unresponsive and seemed to be switched off but instead it was getting very hot. I was not able to reset or switch it off in any way and the only option I had was to take some external fans and wait for the battery to die...  Afterwards it all seemed well again.... Has anybody had similiar issues and has recommendations for me how to prevent further troubles with that laptop?... Hello, I finally got my new Thinkpad Yoga S1, but there seem to be some issues with the NFC module. After startup, if I open the device manager it looks fine, but after a few minutes the "NFC proximity device" driver status changes to shows "Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)". Under Details > Problem Code it says "0000002B", and under Details > Problem Status "The Request is not supported/C00000BB". In the System Event Log I am also getting a few "BcmNfcIc driver has failed initializing NFC device." errors at the time it fails. If I do a right-click > Disable and then right-click > Enable on the device, it works again for a few minutes, but then shows the same error again. I'm using Windows 8.1, fully updated with Windows update, and all drivers/BIOS updated using the Lenovo tool. The NFC driver is version 1.1.0.3130 from 17/12/2013. I also had an issue where the Lenovo QuickControl together with "Windows Driver Foundation - User-Mode Driver" background process took up 95% of the CPU time all the time, which I solved by deinstalling QuickControl. I'm thinking the two issues might be related, with the QuickControl trying to unsuccesfully poll the NFC device. Has anyone else experienced this problem? Jan

Hi I purchased a Thinkpad Yoga for use as my main work PC nd took out extended cover. i was initially pleased with my purchase but found the i7/8GB/1T HDD was slow and unresponsive which i suspect is the HDD. After a while the laptop failed to go into hibernate and when i went to get it from my laptop case it was extremely hot, the lenovo logo affixed to the wristwrest had fell off and so had a rubber foot. The laptop continued to get very warm in use and Lenovo send an engineer to replace the cooling fan. Lenovo were unable to replace the rubber feet or the logo because these dont have a SKU which is ridiculous. This means the laptop is not stable on a desk and the ground clearance is inconsistent and may be causing further overheatingI went to continue an important work project today and have been greeted with HDD 0 not found. It would appear the main hard disk has failed causing me to lose some data..and yes I know a backup is my responsibilityHaving purchased the mot expensive Yoga at the time I am extremely disappointed with the reliability of what I thought was a road warriors laptop.I am wondering if my early adoption of the Yoga was a mistake or whether they are all unreliable and look forward to any replies thanks

Hi,I have a 2nd generation Thinkpad Yoga 12.5 inch notebook. I have had this computer for about 18 months and the screen is completely ruined in many places. I have the matte screen and it appears that the pen has been scratching the soft matte finnish at many places. There are also big smudges from the keyboard that does not go away when I try to clean the screen. I am happy with this laptop overall, but I think it is terrible design to fail to make sure that the screen and keyboard is not touching when the lid is closed! Is it possible to fix these screen issues? Looking at the corner of the the screen, it looks like there is a screenprotector or similar on the device. Is this how Lenovo makes their matte screens? Just pasting a screen protector on top of a glossy screen? If so, would it be possible for me to remove it without damaging the actual screen and get rid of the scratches and smudges? Cheers Cheers

I recently bought a Thinkpad Yoga and found a few issues primarily in the trackpad. The trackpad appears to have a matte finish which greatly increases the friction between my finger and the trackpad itself. This supposed glass trackpad is not smooth and causes jumps and waves when making diagonal lines specifically. Can someone please try making a slow 45 degree line in paint or something and see how straight it comes out? I want to know if i'm the only person here or if it's a common issue.

Hello, Just wondering of anyone on the forum or someone from Lenovo can help. I am not technologically savy and mostly just a user of Microsoft software. My wireless connection on my new Thinkpad Yoga is slow and cannot stream media such as I Player or I Player radio without stopping. My four years old sony vaio laptop has no problem doing these things. I've read on the forum that deleting the Lenovo EMC Storage Connector helps. I have done this but the connection is still poor. I then phoned Lenovo technical support, they asked me to re-download the wireless driver and hot key driver and then try the wireless connection on a different network to see if it is still slow and if it is contact them again. I will do this soon to test it. Does anyone have any other ideas what could be the problem. I really like the Thinkpad Yoga and it would be ashame to take it back if this can't be fixed. Interestingly the technical support person did not know or acknowledge the problem with the Lenovo EMC Storage Connector. Hope someone can help. Many thanks.

Answer:Wifi issues with Thinkpad Yoga

Hello, Sorry to bump this up but I'm still hoping there might be some advice out there. I've tested the yoga thinkpad on two other wifi fibre optic broadband networks and it worked fine. On my own EE normal broadband it still struggles and can't play a 30 min I player programme without stopping every three minutes. What I don't understand is that my sony vaio laptop works fine on the same network. The other weird thing is when I do a speedtest on speednet.com, as it's downloading, the test file it shows speed of about 15 MBS (not bad) but it can't quite finish downloading the file, just hover there. No idea why, could this indicate a problem? I will contact EE technical support to see if there is anything their end. Cheers,James

After i ve updated to windows 10 i cant change the auto rotation if im not on tablet mode, also in tablet mode the trackpoint isnt disabled. are there any tips or recommendations about these issues?20DM000VUS is my laptop model.

Answer:Thinkpad yoga 14 little issues after windows 10

Hi danielmb007 It took me some time to stabilize Windows 10 on the TPY 14 (20DM008UUS). I went into a "driver updating rampage" for it and I have it stabilized right now. This are my tips to update the drivers on my Thinkpad Yoga, but you can decide how deep you want to go for driver updating:1) Try first Windows Update and update all the drivers and Patches2) Try Lenovo System Update to get any new/missing drivers.3) Try to install Lenovo Settings and Lenovo Companion from the Windows App Store, Lenovo Companion also has a "update driver search"4) Sometimes all that software does not recognize some updated / missing driver. Check Lenovo's Support Site and search for your specific model drivers. This will be the Lenovo supported drivers, but if you want to look for other update drivers directly from the manufacturer (AS IS) you can try:5) Depending on the machine chipset/processor, you can try Intel Driver Update Utility, or AMD Update Utility.6) I also like to use DriverEasy, which offers a a decent driver update recognition for free, but also tries to sell you the full version. Just be warned that the drivers that are not from the Lenovo support site are "AS IS" and under your own risk, I install them since I'm confortable installing, and un-installing Windows drivers, remember that a wrong driver may turn up Windows un-usable. Regards

Hi there, I just bought a brandnew Lenovo Thinkpad Yoga (i7 with Digitizer) with the integrated "Intel® Dual Band Wireless-AC 7260" Wifi Module. It communicates with a FritzBox 7390 router. I ran the "Lenovo System Update 5" and installed all the drivers. No mather what I did, I had wifi issues. 1-5 Mbps max (~50 Mbps possible).. every 5 Minutes the connection to the router was lost... Common problems a lot of users are experiencing. After that I downloaded the driver from the Lenovo Support site. It had a newer signature... but still the same problems.  I found out, that the new driver, that I found at the Intel Support Page, solves my issues. https://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?DwnldID=24460  So for anyone who has the same annyoing issues, remove your driver, and install the one from Intel. And for the Lenovo Support.Could you Update the driver, in your "System Updater" Programm and on the Webpage?Atleast for me, the outdated driver is producing a lot of problems.  Just wanted to shareDan

So it doesn't turn off completely  What might help: beeing able to get back to the former driver and firmwar, but I do not seem to be able to download them :-/ Any hints appeciated. Best regards!Markus PS: I am not a native English speaker - Hope, you're getting my points

Hi everyone, I received my ThinkPad Yoga yesterday. Upon booting it up, everything seemed to be working fine. I set it up and everything without a hitch. Then I got to the OS (Win 8.1). The keyboard just didn't respond at all. So I got fed up with trying to figure it out (a USB keyboard didn't work either), so I installed the Windows 10 Technical Preview since I would be installing it eventually anyway. Same issue, worked at boot and at login screen, stopped working after that. This time it made a noise though. The Yoga makes a very strange "you can't do that" type of noise every time I push a key. I then tried Ubuntu, on which the keyboard works find, but upon installing Windows 10 again I have the same issue.I'm totally confused at this point. I've obviously tried every driver I could possibly find for the device. I've been looking everywhere and I can't find anyone with a similar issue. I have the model with the Wacom stylus / digitizer, and it's the Signature Edition, if that matters. Any help is appreciated. P.S. Sorry for the wall of text ;p

I just purchased two 2nd gen yoga thinkpads. I am trying to play a movie through the updated netflix app and the video just flickers .  Not sure if this is a Yoga issue or Netflix problem.  I have tried reloading the app and rebooting.  I thought it may be a Yoga issue if both of my Yogas are having the same exact issue. Video plays fine through any other app or browser.  Thanks for your help.

Hello,I am currently a ideapad yoga 2 pro pro owner and I am thinking of swapping it out for a Thinkpad Yoga.I am have some serious wifi issues with keeping connectivity between the yoga 2 pro and my apple AirPort Extreme (goes to limited every .5 - 1 hour).http://forums.lenovo.com/t5/Idea-Windows-based-Tablets-and/Yoga-2-Pro-Wifi-Problems/td-p/1277577Has anyone been experiencing any wifi issue with the connection going limited on a Thinkpad? The main reason I bought the yoga 2 pro over the Thinkpad was for the screen resolution that being said. Is everyone happy with resolution on the Thinkpad yoga? Thanks in advance,Justin

Answer:Thinkpad Yoga WiFi issues?

I am having issues with a ThinkPad Yoga model 20C0. It is very selective on what WiFi network it would connect to. Sometimes it goes on Limited Connectivity and does not conenct to anything until you disable and enable Wi-Fi.  In some cases it will connect to a WiFi network and other people would be knock out of the network, in other cases it will connect and after a few minutes the connection will drop and will not reconnect after a reboot. According to an article that reviews the ThinkPad Yoga, it is a Windows 8 (or 8.1) issue that happens also on other machines. Link to article: http://www.mobiletechreview.com/notebooks/Lenovo-ThinkPad-Yoga.htm

I uninstalled the windows 8.1 that came with my Thinkpad Yoga to installe windows 7 64-bit because there was no support for Power Manager ( a tool that allows you to charge your battery only upto a certain percentage (eg 40%) which helps reduce battery aging when the notebook is mostly operated on AC power).Doing that required me to fully clean the Hard-disk during the installation process.I installed almost all of the drivers available on  http://support.lenovo.com/us/en/products/laptops-and-netbooks/thinkpad-yoga-series-laptops/thinkpad-...for thinkpad yoga and windows 7 64 bit.Happily, this provided me the Power manager, and I can use it just as I wanted. However, all these has brought in additional issues which are listed below:  1. The touch pad right click doesn't work. Only two finger tap works as right click.2. The touch pad gestures for zoom and scroll doesn't work at all.3. The screen auto-rotate doesn't work.4. The touch screen gesture for zoom doesn't work. I did install the ultra-nav and screen-rotate drivers, but I get error messages regarding synaptics ... not working and also sensor driver not working during the windows startup. Any help please? Thank you.

Answer:Issues with Thinkpad yoga on Windows 7 64-bit

Follow up: After going through windows update and installing windows 7 service pack 1, some of the issues have been resolved. The screen auto rotates based on device orientation. The two finger scroll and zoom works on the touchpad. The physical right click still doesn't work. (The two finger tap for right-click is working). One important feature that I still find mssing is that the two finger pinch to zoom doesn't work on the Touchscreen (it works in Touchpad though). So, when I am browsing websites on Tablet mode, there is no way to zoom in! Thanks.

Hi all new to this forum and the Yoga. Awesome laptop/tablet so far. I do have one issue...In Laptop mode after I open any Office 2010 program (excel, word), the two finger scrolling or any of the touchpad gestures such as pinch to zoom etc stops working. The touch pad still works as well as everything  on the yoga. If I reboot touchpad works again. Any ideas...I already tried uninstalling and reinstalling the synaptics driver.

Answer:Yoga 13 Office 2010 - touchpad issues after open any document

You can reenable the gestures again by going to C:\Program Files\Synaptics and running the individual programs. I believe SynTPEnh will do it but it might be SynLenovoGestureMgr. For some reason Office 13 seems to kill the app in charge of gestures. I have no clue how to fix it but at least this way you don't have to reboot every time. (Note: once you go back to office it will kill it again so get your office stuff out of the way first, then launch the program)

Over the last few days my Yoga 13's touchpad has started to misbehave.  As I scroll around it will begin to select text, or for example if I click on a tabbed window or Windows 8 tile it will instead grab that item and drag it around.  I've tried everything driver related, rolled back to system restore points and even completely reset the system to factory so I am confident that it is a hardware issue.  I called Lenovo and of course I am a few weeks out of my warranty period.  I am not opposed to paying for the repair, but they cannot tell me how much the repair is.  Any staff out there that can help me out?  Thanks!

So since the Windows 10 update my 2-finger scroll on the touchpad on my Yoga 2 Pro sucks. Sometimes it will work to scroll down for a first swipe then when I pick my fingers up to keep srolling it wont scroll at all. Then I cant get to to scroll anymore after that. It sometimes acts like ti wants to zoom and gives this werid cursor on the screen, but it doesnt do anything.

This is super annyoing and now I either have to click and scroll or hit the arrors to scroll. It only seems to be an issue in Chrome. MSOffice programs seem to work fine.

Is anyone else experienceing this?

Hello, I'm considering updating from Windows 8.1 to 10 on my 2014 Thinkpad Yoga S1.  I've tried once before, but was unable to get my pen to work after updating, so I restored to Windows 8.1.  Has anyone had this issue? Has anyone found a solution for it? Thanks

I have two problems i amd struggling to get support from Lenovo on..  1. When i connect my P40 Yoga to a 2nd Display and set my desktop to extended mode. When ever i right-click the 'context' menu that appears is not in the same location as where the stylus is. It appears to be offset based on the amount of total desktop space (becuase its extended) rather than just the actualy lenovo laptop screen. (which is the only screen thats compatible with the stylus). Any suggestions? 2. This one has only started happening recently. The Wacom service: Tablet Service for ISD Driver is constantly using 75% of my CPU and generally makes the device unusable. If i disable the service i am no longer able to use my stylus.. (which is the whole point for buying this laptop at $2000!). It continues to use 75% of my CPU no matter what i do (even when not using the stylus). It appears to use more and more memory over time as well.. Who should be fixing this Lenovo or Wacom?  ?

So I'm really at a loss with this issue.  I've done so much troubleshooting to no avail.  Removed soundcard and bluetooth and reinstalled.  Installed new drivers.  Deleting and repairing devices. Changing the WiFi to "Prefer 5.2GHz band".  Other troubleshooting based on discussions on other forums... The Problem. Brand new Thinkpad P71.  I have two of the same external speakers I've used with my iPhone via Bluetooth to stream audio and never had a problem.  The speakers are the Oontz 3XL. When I connect with my P71, it can go 24 hours or two minutes, but it will just suddenly stop playing audio.  The blue light on the speaker will turn off.  To get it to work again, I'll have to close the audio app and reconnect the Bluetooh.  Then it will run for anywhere from one minute to 24 hours and disconnect again. I also just bought a brand new Thinkpad X1 Yoga (2nd gen).  Exact same problem.  Did all the same troubleshooting. I mostly stream Sirius XM from a browser (and have tried different browsers as well).  I also play audio from iTunes.  The weird thing with iTunes is that when this happens, the Play/Pause button in the software will also stop working, unless I close the app and restart. It's definitely a Lenovo problem, since I am encountering the same problem on both systems.  I don't know if this could be related to BitDefender and/or Malware Bytes (both are inst... I've recently updated my Thinkpad Yoga S1 to Windows 10, and it was giving me a lot of issues. I've since switched back to Windows 8.1 and I'm appalled to see that these issues now carried over back into Windows 8.1. I had the common problem of the trackpad not working when I woke my laptop up from sleep mode, and I also had my trackpoint failing to even register. Additionally, when the trackpad did work, it would be laggy/choppy and basically unbearable to use. Any thoughts on a solution to this problem? I've updated the synaptic drivers more times than I can count...

I just bought my yoga 12 thinkpad with windows 10 and the mouse has just stopped working/disappears. i have tried messing with the drivers, and I've uninstalled and reinstalled the Point Device Driver from Synoptics multiple times. Its giving me a code 10 on the driver (I believe meaning it can't talk to the rest of the computer) and everytime I try to update the drivers nothing happens (i think because I just downloaded the driver off the website). Any help would be greatly appreciated!  Thanks,  Patrick

My Thinkpad Yoga 14 is now basically a standalone CPU, and not a laptop/tablet since my Windows 10 upgrade.  The speakers did not work -- that was easy to fix.  The keyboard on the laptop will not work, and the tablet will not rotate.  I have tried so many suggestions to fix it, but it is now rendered just a cpu with external keyboard, mouse and monitor.  This is very disappointing.  Any ideas on how to fix the keyboard and tablet rotation features?

Answer:Lenovo Yoga Thinkpad - Headset issues

Good day and welcome to the community.I can't comment on the USB headset question, but if you've got an older, dual-plug headset that you'd like to use, then you might explore getting a combo-jack splitter as described in this KB article: https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/Displays-Options-and-Accessories/Microphone-Headset-Jack-splitter-neede...

Hope this helps a bit.Regards.

Hi I own a Lenovo ThinkPad Yoga 12 i5 180GB laptop/2-in-1. Sometimes, the CPU fan will just turn off completely, especially when the CPU is under heavy load. I am a content creator, and I use this computer for the bulk of my encoding jobs. Sometimes, when I am rendering or encoding, or even just scripting. Also, the battery is only charging to 41480 mWh instead of the designed 47060. What is happening? i have owned this for 1.5 years.

I just purchased a X1 Yoga 2nd Gen with a high-end configuration.  In theory, this is my ideal computer for home (which includes a lot of computer modeling work in evenings and weekends).

But I just returned it because I was experiencing a cascade of mostly mouse-related issues.  At times, these issues all affected the TrackPoint, TouchPad an X1 external travel mouse, so they were not device-specific.

I first noticed the mouse would freeze, and display a tiny scroll-bar pointer.  When I'd try to move the mouse, the scroll bar gliff would shift from vertical to horizontal, etc... but the mouse would not move and could not be used.  I would have to force a reboot and repeat until the problem went away.  I seemed to minimize this problem by changing a mouse setting in Devices / Mouse Properties / Thinkpad.  Under Enable TrackPoint, I changed the Middle Button Action to "Use as middle click".  This seemed to improve things...

But then the mouse started rapidly drifting across the screen, and this drifting process would go on and on until I rebooted (often several times).  When the mouse was drifting -- always towards the upper-right -- it was essentially impossible to use the computer.

I also found that the mouse buttons would quit working frequently.  This was most common when I had other processes running.  But the CPU (and memory) was far from maxed out -- I had it at 30-40%.  This pro... Read more

We have 20+ThinkPad S1 Yoga?s (20C0-A01TUS). We clone one original OOBE image to restore the other systems back to factory original once they return. ... and some more issues with the Pro Dock. I have a Dell U3014 connected via Display Port. Resolution works fine, however... : 1) Dell Display Manager stopped working and reported "attach compatible LCD to your PC." This software is quite important to me and since DP is supposed to be "native" I can't find a reason why it shouldn't work. 2) I experience stuttering while dragging windows. Definitely a noticeable difference as opposed to connecting the LCD and devices directly to the Yoga. Help would be much appreciated (and have a look here as well...fan noise: http://forums.lenovo.com/t5/ThinkPad-Edge-S-series/Thinkpad-Yoga-S1-12-5-quot-fan-noise-weird-stylus... Thanks, SF6

Answer:Thinkpad S1 Yoga + OneLink Pro Dock issues

I can confirm that Dell Display Manager is not good with my config also - OneLink (basic) connected to Dell U2412M via DVI.  Can't tell the difference compared to direct connection to laptop though (don't have miniHDMI adapter). @SFsix, sorry about this offtopic question, but do you have any problems with random disconnection/connection of OneLink Pro from TPY, more specifically for Ethernet and USB interfaces. More details here: http://forums.lenovo.com/t5/Options-Accessories/Re-OneLink-network-port-flapping/td-p/1358947 it's a pretty long thread already but in brief all users of OneLink basic non-Pro (myself included) report this problem for constant disconnect and re-connect of OneLink interface. So we were wondering if OneLink Pro users experience this problem... Will appreciate your feedback.
