I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Answer: Thinkpad Yoga 15 + Active Pen

Well ... in France the publicity have been saing "support active pen" for a while without telling the pen was an option ... and without telling this option was not availble (not gessed, I've been told this by Lenovo).A while after, I've bought one with the stylus option now available .. Yes !!! ... wait 1 month .... no news .... and when I asked why, I've only received an email saying my command was canceled! They have some issue with the stylus (this is what they told me)Look live Lenovo sell something they dont have. Now I have all the equipenent (SSD M.2, SSD 1To, 32Gb of RAM from IM, multiple power adaptor, two dock ... about 2000? of équipement (a lot because I have big needs and I travel a lot) ... but without the laptop itself. But Lenovo kindly promissed be 5% on my next buy on the website ;-) All that to say ... if you want the stylus on the Yoga 15 ... don't beleive about lenovo web site and their nice sells practice, wait for it to be available for a few month before bying it ....

Does anyone know if Lenovo is going to release the Thinkpad yoga 15 with an active pen or is this a dead dream at this point? My suppliers have no clue and even the touch only thinkpad yoga's are hard to get here in Canada.

Answer:Thinkpad Yoga 15 with active pen

I ordered my Yoga 15 with intel realsense camera from Amazon US, and got it shipped to me in Nigeria, you can do same. With respect to the availability of the active pens with yoga 15, only Lenovo can help with that answer.

Hello Lenovo Community! Note: I do realise that there have been many related threads but after hours of research I still feel a bit lost and confused... I?m about to purchase a new laptop and I decided to go for another ThinkPad. The Yoga series seems like a nice and portable alternative for my current laptop + Wacom tablet setting. What made picking a particular one difficult is the fact that I need to be sure it?s pen enabled (with pressure sensitivity). The 12?s seem to be a safe choice as they have built-in pen slots, however they are also a little bit too small for my artistic needs. My dream TPY is at least 14? and has dedicated graphics and I?ve actually seen them around. The problem is that they don?t have a pen included I don?t know how to check if they work with digitizers. If I understand correctly, digitizer support is an option for 14?/15? models, so: How to check if a particular TPY supports the digitizer? Is there any indication of it in the detailed model code?If it isn?t that easy to verify, could those of you who already have a 14?/15? share their model codes so we could list them for future generations of pen-obsessed TPY seekers?  Thank you in advance for any help (including closing this thread and directing me to a place where the answer is! )

I've read that the 20cd0032us and 33us Thinkpad Yoga models are the only ones without an active digitizer.  However, this appears to be all that is for sale on Amazon and other places.  Any idea of where you can but a Thinkpad Yoga with an active digitizer??

Answer:Thinkpad Yoga w/ active digitizer

They are only available on Lenovo's website as far as I've seen. I tried looking other places like Amazon, too, but haven't seen the digitizer model. I ended up buying one directly.

Hey Guys I'm rather confused about the pen support for the new Lenovo ThinkPad Yoga 15. I've read quite a bit about it and find the information quite inconsistent. Some say it does support active pen some say it will in april and some say it doesn't. What I would like to know:A.) What kind of pen technology does the Lenovo ThinkPad Yoga 15 support atm?B.) Are there any changes in sight? / When? / What changes?C.) Can I write on it while resting my hand on the screen aka has it palm rejection?D.) How good is it for note taking? Can it keep up with my writing speed? Links to videos where I can actually see it being used / tested would be greatly appreciated.

Answer:Lenovo Thinkpad Yoga 15 Active Pen

From what I know there isn't too much information out so far. But here's what I found out. First off, the current Thinkpad Yoga 14 and 15 don't support pen digitizers at all, and will not in the future.Secondly, the Toshiba Encore 2 Write apparently uses the same technology. See this thread. Here's what I know:- It's called Wacom "Active ES" as in Active Electro Static.- It's battery powered. Unlike Wacom's older technology, you need a battery in the pen.- Palm rejection is more of a driver thing and not the technology. So it works, basically.- People say it feels "different", not sure if that means better or worse.- Precision is apparently very good, perhaps even better than the older tech without battery.- Pen lag (speed) doesn't seem to be an issue. Might even be better than the older technology. Other than that I personally couldn't find any information about whatever will be built into the Thinkpad Yoga 14 and 15 Only that they call it "Active Pen" and that it will be out in April. Also that the displays will support something called "anypen" which basically means you can use any pen-shaped metal object to write on the display. But that isn't really of any interest to me because I want pressure sensitivity.

Dear Lenovo Community after hours of installing drivers and trying different configurations and calibrations of my pen I have concluded to write a post. My Problem is rather strange. The laptop I have came with an Active Pen. When I hover my pen across the screen, it detects the pen and I see the little mouse cursor under it. However, randomly, whenever I hover anywhere below 2/3rds of the screen, the cursor suddenly jumps upward 7cm and moves left and right on a streight horizontal according to how I move my pen on the bottom screen. When I remove the pen from the screen and return back to it, the problem vanishes, however occours soon after again. Since I cant use the laptop and flick my hand upward every 20 seconds to get rid of the problem temporarily, does anyone have any suggestions on what I could do? The product number of my laptop is 20DNS02H00. Thank you,Chris

Just picked up a new Thinkpad Yoga. Definitely thrilled by the specifications, it seems to be the perfect laptop for me combining dedicated graphics, 2 in 1 capability, and most importantly, a wacom pen. However, upon getting it home, I find the pen doesn't work whatsoever. Curious, I went back to Best Buy and tried the pen on the display model. That one doesn't work either.Do these have some sort of widespread issue with the digitizer pens not working? Is there any known fix for this?

Hello, I hope anyone can help me here. I did'nt found an answer so far for my problem. I bought the lenovo thinkpad yoga 14 two days ago. In the shop they had only the thinkpad yoga 12, which had a pen inside the yoga (right corner). They showed me this notebook. Later I ordered the thinkpad yoga 14 in the internet. There were a few versions, one was with a active pen. I thought this is the same like the yoga 12 with the pen in the right corner. But this is wrong. The pen is much bigger and you have a pen holder for these big pen. You can't put this in the right corner of the yoga 14. Ok that was'nt what I want, but ok. My problem now is that I don't know how this pen works. It doesn't work and I can't find a solution for that problem. Are there any drivers which I have to install? There is no description, only a short which describe how I have to put the battery inside the pen  Sorry for my bad English, I'm a German  best regards,Izzmir

Answer:Thinkpad yoga 14 Flickering Screen and Active Pen

Hi

I have a TP Yoga 14, it is similar but it is different model (20DM008UUS).

I also have the Intel HD 5500 and NVidia 940M, also on 1920 x 1080 with Windows 10 and I have flickering on the screen.

Do you want to give it a try updating the drivers of the Intel HD 5500 and NVidia 940M?

Maybe you already know that you can download the driver of your model here, but I will like to also share my tips for updating the drivers.

1) Try first Windows Update and update all the drivers and Patches
2) Try Lenovo System Update to get any new/missing drivers.
3) Try to install Lenovo Settings and Lenovo Companion from the Windows App Store, Lenovo Companion also has a "update driver search"
4) Sometimes all that software does not recognize some updated / missing driver. Check Lenovo's Support Site and search for your specific model drivers.

I've had my yoga for 3 days now and have noticed that the Touchpad does not disable when in tablet mode. There must be some remedy to this as it makes tablet mode fairly useless since holding the tablet moves the mouse when you inevitably touch the Touchpad. This appears to happen with the 11s model as well (http://forums.lenovo.com/t5/Idea-Windows-based-Tablets-and/Yoga-11s-Touchpad-in-Tablet-Mode/m-p/1168... and the driver mentioned as a fix does not resolve my issue.

Answer:Thinkpad Yoga S1 - Touchpad active in tablet mode

The moderator comment is misplaced - this is the only message I've left on this forum. You've moderated my comment or deleted a duplicate but have not provided any response to my actual problem. As I type this, I'm actually becoming pretty frustrated by the fact you'd take time to school me in the ways of forum ettiquette and not provide any actual customer service. At more than $1,200, this Thinkpad Yoga's inconsistent auto-screen rotation, ever-changing touch screen calibration settings, incredibly hot case temperature while installing Photoshop and The Banner Saga, and of course, the Touchpad remaining active in tablet mode is resulting in my returning this computer. I love the weight and the keyboard, but these pros don't outweigh the cons (especially when added to Windows 8.1's inability to properly scale menus for an FHD 12.5 screen). I'll try again on Lenovo's next edition of this line.

So out of the box, my Yoga 920 was missing the batteries and tips for the Active Pen 2 but I got an empty pen.  So Lenovo ships me a new pen but this one is a Lenovo Active Pen although it does list 4096 levels of pressure.  What's the difference between the pens and is the original compatible with the Yoga 920?I have it still in the box... Thanks.

Hi,

When I connect Thinkpad Yoga (model 20CD00B1US) to the onelink dock, the stylus stops working.

In order to enable the stylus and Wacom driver following 2 options/ workarounds:
1)  Manually stop and restart the Wacom ISD Service
2) or reboot the machine while the Onelink dock is attached.

I'm using the latest 7.2.0-4 Wacom driver version, all latest lenovo software installed installed on the machine.

Both above mentioned workarounds are ugly, does anybody have a better suggestion to fix this issue?

I posted a similar question earlier and people referred me to the Yoga (much appreciated).  However, I was interested in the 2.6 lb carbon version with touch screen capabilities.  Asus has a Spin 7 model that is very good at 2.65lb, but I miss the red mouse toggle in the middle of the keyboard and Asus's track pad was designed too large....causing unintended tapping.  The Yoga, while nice, is heavier than I was looking for.  The 14 inch screen is about 3.3lb? the 12 inch at 3? I thought that some of the earlier Thinkpad Carbons had touch screen and was hoping they would make a return soon.  Thanks,

Hi, I am new to this site and wondering if I can get some advice. Hi chiakri.

I have a TPY 14 (20DM008UUS) and I'm happy with this model. I didn't not compare it to the TPY 12, but mine is working fine and have no issues. It didn't came with a pen, but it supports "Active pen", so I bought a Thinkpad Pen Pro and it worked fine.

I prefer to stick with the 14" screen but that is more about personal prefence. Maybe if you like to use it very much on tablet mode with a pen, possible the 12" will be more confortable to hold as a book.. but I'm just guessing.

I am hhaving difficulty finding an acceptable scaling mix between resolution, system scaling, and edge scaling. At 1080p, 125%, 125%, os navigation is mostly fine, but edge text is way too large. At 1080p, 125%, 100%, edge text is way too small. At all combinations text is inflated (but crisp) in certain elements while fuzzy in others. What scaling combinations work best for you? I am considering returning this to Best Buy and upgrading to a Pro 4 / Book, or even a Mac. The scaling is ruining an otherwise great experience.

Hey guys, I'm a PreMed student who's life revolves around his laptop. After researching my options, I've narrowed my choices down to the three previously listed laptops. I just want to know which do you guys suggest and why?

Answer:Surface Book vs Lenovo Yoga 900 vs ThinkPad X1 Yoga

By looking at your requirement, you prefer on-the-go PC that lets you do all that on a decent budget, SP4 is better than SB(if you want lightweight device and decent battery life), Lenovo's are pretty good too. X1 w/o OLED seems to be a better buy in terms of ultraportability and battery life. You could wait for others to chime in.

I have two staff members with different Yoga models, but with the same pen issue. Say, for instance, OneNote is open. The pen doesn't draw or write, but it can select and still be recognized. When I try using an old stylus from an HP Elitebook, it works TOTALLY fine - even the button on the pen functions properly. This suddenly started after months of the Lenovo pens working fine. I thought maybe it was a driver issue, but it can't be as the HP pen works.... I'm thinking it's the pen itself just getting worn down? It looks okay though but may be just a little loose... Any help / direction would be greatly appreciated!

Disclosure:  I received these laptops from Lenovo as part of their advocacy program, so huge thanks to the folks over at Lenovo. I don't receive compensation for my review, and as always, all opinions are my own.

The ThinkPad X1 Yoga is first modern ThinkPad that I've ever owned.  I?ve been using Lenovo?s Ideapad lineup for a very long time, and while I?ve used ThinkPads in the past, the X1 Yoga will be my first personal ThinkPad that I own.  So how does it stack up to the Yoga 910?  Let?s find out! I have the i7 UHD model of the Yoga 910 and the i5 FHD model of the ThinkPad X1 Yoga.  I tried out the latest Yoga 920, but I haven?t tried the latest X1 Yoga yet? hopefully, I will!

Hardware & Design
Even though both laptops carry ?yoga? in their name, the hardware behind them is vastly different.  The ThinkPad X1 Yoga has the classic ThinkPad black design, which is made of a carbon-fiber hybrid for the top cover and a magnesium-PPS hybrid for the bottom cover.  The Yoga 910 has a similar design from the Lenovo?s Yoga lineup, with an aluminum build throughout.

The ThinkPad only comes in two colors: classic black and silver; whereas the Yoga has a whole suite of colors to choose from, such as silver, copper, bronze, and even a few exclusive designs, such as the Vibe designs for the Yoga 920 and the Star Wars themed designs for the Yoga 910.

First let me vent my frustration with Lenovo for promising an active pen for the Yoga 15 and not delivering.   Over the years -and through several purchases- Lenovo has eroded my trust they will deliver on any promise.  Lenovo pre-sale marketing is all BS, I'll believe a feature when I see it implimented in a shipping unit.  I guess it's easy to grab consumer attention by over-promising and under-delivering. Back to the subject.  Given that we will probably never see an active pen for the Yoga 15, I am looking for recommnedations experiences regarding non-active fine-tipped pens that work well with the Yoga 15. So far I am looking at Adonit (Jot Pro) and dotpen products.   Has anyone had a positive experience with these products on the Yoga 15?

So recently I bought the Lenovo Active Pen (GX80K32882) off of Amazon, and it's been working fine. I decided to switch from the included pen because it was larger and gave more of a natural feeling. However, today when I pulled out the built-in pen, it didn't work. I've tried restarting and updating drivers to no avail. I'm not sure if it's because the charging pins were somehow bent and it's now out of battery, or because of some other hardware/software issue. Has anyone else had this issue and found a fix? Hello OzpThanks for using the Lenovo forums. Not exactly sure about a specific driver, sorry.

It may help to update your Chipset driver, this is usually pretty useful to keep up to date.

Try to download the Chipset drivers for the unit from the support page.

Make sure to reboot after an update on the unit.

Hello, I'd like to know if the Yoga 520 offers an active digitizer making the use of an active pen possible. Not a passive/capacitive one, but an ACTIVE one. I've recently bought a notebook which said it had support for active pens and ended up with a touchscreen instead which offers capacitive pen support only. I aim to use Staffpad with it so if I could be informed of it's compatibility with the app that'd be better.

Just curious, why is the new Thinkpad X1 Yoga I7, 16 GB RAM, 1 TB SSD, FHD about $1,000 more than the similarly equipped commercial Lenovo 910?

Is it the ThinkPad brand name? The eraser nubbin? The 2 combined?

Just curious.

I've got a friend who needs a new laptop. She likes the touch/fold aspect of my 1st gen Thinkpad X1 Yoga. Do you all think she would be happy with the commercial Yoga 910?

Any real reason to get the new plain FHD ThinkPad X1 Yoga instead of the similarly equipped commercial Yoga available at Best Buy besides spending an extra $1000 for the ThinkPad brand name?

I've owned 6 various ThinkPads since 2011 FWIW. I get it, they're cream of the crop. But I kinda got sticker shock when I just priced out a plain FHD (and we need nothing more) X1 Yoga. About  $2,800, wow!

Opinions and advice -- no spam please (thank you!) -- welcome.

Best to everyone...

Answer:Why is the ThinkPad X1 Yoga $1,000 more than a similar Yoga 910?

@Jelks, The biggest difference I see between the X1 Yoga (2nd) and the Yoga 910 is active pen support which seems to be missing from the 910. You could use a capacitive stylus, but expect fingertip resolution, not pinpoint, and no pressure-sensitivity. Fewer USB ports: no HDMI or MicroSD; no Thunderbolt. No TPM module, if you need to store encrypted creditials, e.g., for BitLocker. Not sure about battery life; they claim up to 9 hours of local video for the 910 vs. up to 15 of MobileMark for the X1. Not an apple-to-apple comparison. You're not going to get the (soon to be patched, at least for now) security hole that is Intel's vPro management tech. You may not get Windows 10 Pro, possibly just Home (but you could always give Microsoft the money to upgrade if you need BitLocker or Remote Access). You're not going to get all the "mil-spec" design and testing etc, but if it's a personal machine, you're probably going to avoid abusing it. As you suggest, the "wave" keyboard -- including the trackpoint "eraser nubbin" -- is definitely going to be more expensive on the ThinkPad than the plain Yoga keyboard. I used two generations of ThinkPads (T61p and W520), but about 3 years ago I switched to a Dell XPS 13. A year or so ago, I ordered a X1 Yoga 1st gen for my wife and she likes it very much, so I am pretty familiar with the design and capabilities. TLDR: I think most people would be happy with the 910 vs. X1 unless they want the active pen. Als... Hey all. The thinkpad yoga is going to be rolling out by the end of next week. There are all a lot of ppl waiting for the yoga 2 pro to get restocked. Is it a good time to maybe reconsider getting the thinkpad yoga instead? Pros and cons?

Answer:ideapad yoga 2 pro or thinkpad yoga

I am looking at the Thinkpad Yoga as an alternative to the Yoga 2 Pro as well. Looks like there are quite a few pros and cons to each.

I have recently bought a Thinkpad Yoga 460 with Thinkpad Pen Pro. I leave it in the laptop slot for charging for more than a day and it gives me only a few minutes of usage. As per the user guide, it should be 80% charge in 15 seconds and 100% after 5 minutes. But it runs out of charge very soon. It shows me the low battery level indicator as soon as I use it on the screen. First day of usage (appox 4 days ago) it gave me about 30 - 45 minutes of continuous. But after that not more than 5 minutes. Please let me know if this is an issue with the Pen or Laptop charging port. Is there any way I can troubleshoot it?Please also let me know the average usage time for the pen, if you are continuously using it.

Answer:Thinkpad yoga 460 - Thinkpad Pen Pro not charging ...

Hi
Welcome to the forums.

I do not have that kind of pen, but I think is the one that has some "bronce contacts" at the top of the pen. I had read some other post about it, just in case check that "contacts" to make sure they are touching with the charger when you put the pen into it's holder. Sometimes the contacts may move.

Hi, quick question: I bought a Yoga 2 Pro in late 2014. It has a touchscreen and after upgrading to Windows 10 some time ago, I now noticed the Windows Ink workspace icon up as an option. Will it work with an (any) active pen or just (if at all) with one of these regular (capacitive) stylus pens? I have searched for quite some time now but couldn't find a conclusive answer anywhere. Thanks!

Hi I bought a Yoga 900s yesterday and so far I like it. I bought the active pen and it arrived today. However there is no documentation on how to connect it. I've tried with Bluetooth, I clicked and held both buttons on the pen, and nothing works. I read on a different model that if the laptop says it has 10 point pen and touch that it would not support a pen. I can't belive that to be accurate. This is a $1300 device and the pen says it is compatible with this model. Anyone out there that can shed light on this for me?

Answer:Cannot connect active pen to Yoga 900s

I just discovered I was sold a 900 and was told and it was labeled as a 900s. Now I know why I can't connect this pen, it doesn't work with the 900. But I'm trying to decide if the i7 and 16GB of RAM is worth the lack of using a pen. I've tried a plan stylus with it and cannot use it either. I need something to use as a pen though. Very frustrating that Best Buy did this.

Hello. I am currentlly experiencing issues with Adobe Photoshop CS6 when using the Active pen that comes with the Yoga 14. When "Press and hold for right clicking" is disabled in Pen and Touch settings, any click-and-drag actions using the pen in Photoshop causes the cursor to stick. I recorded these to illustrate the problem: Using mouse (how it's supposed to work)Using pen (strangely enough, when I use screen recording, the pen's cursor doesn't appear to move, so I had to record with my phone to show the issue) If I use modifier keys (alt, shift, ctrl) while clicking with the pen in Photoshop, the same thing happens: the pen cursor seems to be stuck in place as I move the pen. These issues seem to happen exclusively with Photoshop - the pen behaves normally in other softwares. Also, I cannot enable "press and hold", because that will just lead to a different issue that has been known for years in Photoshop. I have tried different methods to fix this, including disabling Windows ink, and disabling press and hold is the only thing that works.

Pretty much just as the description says. Im not sure what the problem is. When I try to download the feeldriver from Wacom it says "a supported tablet was not found" or something like that. And calling Lenovo support was the most infuriating waste of 4 hours of my life as no one seemed to know anything about it. I know the pen is compatable to the latpop. Its the only one that is. So if anyone can help me find out why the driver says that when I download it and why the pen isn't being recognized i'd love you forever. Seriously.

Hello, I just bought a Lenovo yoga 520 from a local retailer yesterday. It came with the Lenovo Active Pen. I tried to draw on Paint Tool SAI at night and I would just like to ask if it is normal that the tablet screen register my pinky (since it touches the screen first before the pen tip) before the actual pen? It is a bit distruptive when i am drawing because it will create a stroke by my pinky which I do not want. This morning when I tried to draw again, the pen to have some odd behavior. If I do a quick stroke/flick and lift my pen away from the screen, the stroke will not follow through and the screen is temporarily disabled and does not respond to mouse clicks or hand touches (as if I did not lift the pen up at all.) I have to tap the screen again with my pen and the stroke will connect to where I tapped. This issue does not happen when I wear a piece of cloth on my palm or if I draw the stroke slowly and life it up slowly. So I would just like to ask:1. If I buy a Bamboo styus (which I am aware is compatible with Yoga 520,) will I be able to draw faster strokes with smoother follow through?2. Is this a normal problem faced by fellow artists too?

Just bought a new Lenovo Yoga 920 and have started getting issues when using the stylus that came with the computer. It randomly becomes unresponsive to the touch screen; the button still opens windows ink workspace when clicked but when I touch the screen with the tip of the stylus it does nothing. I can use the touch screen just fine with my finger but it just doesn't seem to work with the pen. Assuming maybe the tip of the stylus needs replaced? Any one with any experience on this issue would be greatly appreciated! ** also it does come back on eventually, just very random when it does. Thanks!!

Are you, like me, starting to get annoyed with the active pen not responding. Then when you go to the wacom driver settings you get the error message "The Tablet driver is not running". Forcing you to restart the machine or the service? This is a normal problem that pisses a lot of users of wacom products in general. And i found this happens alot, specially if you have several wacom products like i have a Cintiq connected to my X1 yoga.  Well surprisingly there is a really easy fix for this.  It's windows 10 stopping the service after it wakes up from sleep. To fix it just tell windows to try harder to keep it running. ? Run "services" and find the wacom services. The service you looking for on a X1 Yoga is Wacom ISD service or/and the Wacom Professional Service if you have an additional wacom device like the Cintiq connected.Right click the service and go to properties.Go to the tab recovery and set the optional fail response on first and second failure to "restart the service".there is also someone reporting that they have to set their startup type to manual. But for me it works fine in automatic. Here is a video from ma'boy MichaelLawLtd that explains how, i give him all credit for this solution:  I set it to restart on second and third attempt and have never had an issue since.

Hi, can someone confirm that all Yoga 720 models work with a Lenovo Active Pen? The only model that's sold with a pen is $600 more expensive than the next most expensive model (with basically the same spec minus the pen). Given that a pen isn't anywhere near $600, it gives me concern that the rest of the models (without an included pen) won't work with a pen that could be purchased separately. Thanks.

Hello, I recently received a new Thipad P50 laptop for work and worked on it several times without issue while connected to a power source. However, when relying on battery power only, I've been experiencing very unusual behavior which leads to many typos as keystrokes are not registering when typing. What's happening is while typing, every few seconds I notice the active window appears to "toggle" and by this i mean that the translucent header above the address bar flashes and changes color slightly, similar to what happens when toggling between active windows. This occurs frequently while typing, and while it toggles, keystrokes simply do not register resulting in many typos. For example, in typing this message, it's taken me three times as long as it should because I have to re-type and correct typos. This is maddening! At first I thought it may relate to slightly resting my hand on ttouchpad or related keys that is resulting in this but can confirm this is not the case as I'm making a point to not rest my palms on the laptop and am still experiencing the issue. I have not done too much experimenting trying to identify the source but I have noticed that I only seem to experience this issue while working from the laptop battery. I do not seem to experience the problem while connected to a power source. I've tried changing the power settings hoping this may help but to no avail. If i can't get this remedied, I will have to return the laptop. Of what use is thi... Read more

I recently got a Yoga 2 Pro. The screen goes blank after just a few minutes of keyboard or mouse inactivity, but the monitor stays active and lit up. I have tweaked all of the power settings, including telling it to never turn off the monitor when plugged in. I do work where I have to monitor things and need to be able to just glance up and get current information without touching the computer. It immediately comes back on if you touch a key or the mouse, but it's still aggravating to have to constantly remember to do something to keep the picture displayed. What am I missing? I've gone into the advanced power management and tweaked things but nothing seems to help. This does not sound like the "black screen" issue many people have had since it comes immediately back on. Thanks for any help. One morning after I shutdown my laptop to leave for work and start it up again on the train. It gave me the: 2000 thinkvantage active protection sensor diagnostics failed. Everything is working fine. Is there a fix for this? Edit: I realised this is in the wrong section. Can someone help me move this please? Thank you.

Answer:Thinkpad L430 Error Msg: 2000 thinkvantage active protection sensor diagnostics failed

Does this error only happen when you start up your system on the train, or does this error always happen when you start your system?

Active protection (APS) is the HDD airbag function, it detects when the system is moving then it parks the HDD heads in order to prevent damage, until the system stops moving.

APS is initialized by BIOS when the system is turned on.  Part of the initialization is running diags on the sensor to make sure it is able to detect a non-moving state.  If the system is being moved while this happens, then the diags fail and that error message happens.

What is your suggestion for Yoga 900 stylus pen? Can I use thinkpad pen? I have seen this youtube video where the thinkpad yoga works with wacom too, and with the right driver, it has the palm rejection. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CwQ1GHhYB_Q) Is yoga 900 share the same screen active pressure technology.2. Which docking should I choose for Yoga 900 and Thinkpad Yoga.3. What do you think of running After Effects in Yoga 900 and Thinkpad Yoga 15? How about basic task with 3d application? Thank you

Answer:Yoga 900 vs Thinkpad Yoga 15

Er, the Yoga 900 does NOT support an active pen. The Yoga 900 is from the IdeaPad range of Lenovo. It is NOT a ThinkPad Yoga. It's a nice machine, but if you want support for an active pen, then it's not for you at this point in time.

HiI am used to T420, 450 laptops, and looking for Yoga with similar easy type keyboard (good key travel, less actuation force) and easy on eyes screen anti-glare/matte.  Looks like they don't make matte displays now. Is the keyboard on X1 yoga and its anti-glare comparable or should I get thinkpad yoga 460 (that is a pound+ heavier). Also how does a anti-glare screen protector compare with display already built with anti-glare. If the X1 yoga anti-glare is not sufficient, should I then add this 3rd party screen? Thanks

Hello community! As no sales rep at my local reseller's couldn't clearly answer to me, I lean on you the community in my struggle to find a good replacement for MacBook Pro which I want to now abandon for ethical reasons   I was that close to ordering a Yoga 900 with i7, 16gb and 512. But: sales rep after another stressed the importance of having a designated display card for me to be able to do photoshop + light 3d work (no HD rendering or anything, just modelling). So I started to look around again and as I love the Yoga hinge and the features that follow I'd want to have that instead of XPS for example, that would in a way be a smarter choice. And I found the Thinkpad 15 inch that you can upgrade to have the i7, 16gb and a 512 SSD, and with that you'd get 2gb display ram. Though the trade from HQD to HD is annoying to me, but I could suck it up if in other sense the Thinkpad Yoga and it's 2gb display ram really is that effective for my line of work.  So in short, as a 2D/3D designer, mostly working with Rhino, Google Sketch, Illustrator, Photoshop and Office ? which would be the smarter choice: Thinkpad Yoga 15 upgraded to i7-5500U or Yoga 900 13.3 with it's i7-6500U?

Answer:Yoga 900 i7 or Thinkpad 15 Yoga i7

It'd be a better idea to go with the ThinkPad 15 Yoga. Lenovo does have the Yoga 700 that has dedicated graphics card, if you want to look into that as well.

We just recently received some Thinkpad Yoga's and need some direction on how to complete the WDS process...Here is what we have done so far... 1. Initially we could not boot to the WDS server via PXE boot so we purchased the Lenovo USB Network adapter as this is the only method available for PXE boot. 2. Went into the BIOS and disabled "Secure Boot" and changed Startup to "Both" for UEFI/Legacy Boot Those first two items allowed us to PXE boot and I was able to view the WDS options. I then created the image and sysprepped it. 3. On the WDS server, we then created a new Windows 8 wim to boot to for the image upload. 4. PXE boot and selected this image which then started the wizard that would walk us through uploading the image.  Here is where the problem starts... When I get to the screen that has the checkbox to "upload image to WDS..." and then the field where you enter the server name and press "connect" it fails to connect no matter what I use. I have tried.. Server nameServer name.domainIP addresswack wack server namewack wack name.domainwack wack IP address I read that we may need to inject the Lenovo USB Ethernet adapter drivers into the wim but on our WDS server, in order to do that, we need to use .inf files. I have not found any .inf files for Lenovo adapter (found driver installs, just no .inf versions). So we are almost there but I don't know how to go any further. Can someone point me to where I can... Read more

The inf/sys files are in the folder.

Just stumbled upon this page on Lenovos support page when looking for drivers for my thinkpad yoga. It shows some info on the Thinkpad Yoga 14 along with some pictures. See link below. Its showing haswell processor however and not broadwell. So maybe its set for release soon. http://support.lenovo.com/us/en/products/laptops-and-netbooks/thinkpad-yoga-series-laptops/thinkpad-...

Question: Thinkpad Yoga 14

Just purchased a Thinkpad Yoga 14 and I'm wondering if anyone has installed a SSD and whether installing a SSD would all overall speed to the Yoga 14.  I've installed SSDs in my older Thinkpads and noted significant improvement, but I'm not familiar enough with the Yoga to know for sure if it would be worth it.  Any opinions would be appreciated.

Answer:Thinkpad Yoga 14

I dug a bit on the interwebs and noticed an article at the MobileTechReview that is probably the answer to what you're looking for.   Like you, the authors of that review had a Yoga 14 and wanted to upgrade the SSD.  Comes out to by ~25% difference in PCMark 7 score benchmore. I don't know what kinds of tests actually matter in your case but is probably worth reading.  It compares to a few more laptops, here is a partial list:.  PCMark 7 Benchmark Comparison TableScore 3777- Lenovo ThinkPad Yoga 14 (HDD, factory spec) 3733 Score 4603 -Lenovo ThinkPad Yoga 14 (upgraded to SSD boot drive)

Hi, I ordered for a P40 Yoga couple of days ago, inbuilt storage is 256GB SSD, there is an additional M.2 slot, can I add a 1TB HDD in that slot? Spec says max is 512GB SSD, so I am not sure about this. I hope someone can help. Thanks in advance!
