Thinkpad Yoga bluetooth not functioning on windows 8.1

Question: Thinkpad Yoga bluetooth not functioning on windows 8.1

I am having issues with bluetooth using windows 8.1. Windows can find and pair my device but only stays connected for a few seconds. The installed driver that came on the pc is: *Intel(R) Wireless Bluetooth(R) 4.0 + HS Adapter - version 3.1.1307.360* I have noticed that on the intel website the latest driver is: *BT_3.1.1311_e164.exe* although they recommend that I use the drivers provided by lenovo. Do lenovo have a fix for this issue or are you planning to release the new drivers? My system information is: Thinkpad S1 Yogawindows 8.1 pro 64bit (was pre installed)Intel® Dual Band Wireless-AC 7260 (with bluetooth) any help will be appreciated.

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

I'm having the same issues with my ThinkPad Yoga - I have installed the latest drivers from Lenovo, but my Bluetooth will drop after a few minutes and I have to either restart bluetooth or sometimes restart the laptop to get it connected again. Thoughts?

Ok, so I've looked up most of the obvious solutions and I'm not sure what's up. The auto rotate function hasn't been doing anything in tablet mode (or any mode). First i checked the action center to click the button that toggles the function, but that button has disappeared. I have no idea why this would happen. I've been told the button next to the volume can lock the screen but I've tried fiddling with that in many ways and it also does not work. I'm very unsure as to why the function stopped working, as it was working properly for the last few days (I just got the laptop). Any recomendatinos would be appreciated. I'm not great with laptops so it's possilble I'm screwing up something silly.

Answer:Thinkpad yoga 15 auto rotate not functioning?

Hi

Can you please provide the full model number of you Thinkpad? I don't know if this will help you, but here it is how ti works on my TP Yoga 14.

When I'm in "Laptop Mode" (With the screen normal as any laptop), the "Lock button" that is on the side does not does anything.

When I see the settings on "Turn rotation lock or on off" (You can find it by pressing the Windows button and search for "rotation") you will see this:

You can not change the "Lock rotation of this display".

But on my case when I rotate the screen on Tent mode or Tablet mode, it rotates (Windows also turns to "Tablet Mode). Even if the screen is on 90° as a laptop and I put it vertical as a book.  On that cases the "lock rotation on this display" starts to work and the "lock button" also works to avoid changing the screen orientation.

Try checking that settings (the ones on the picture) on your computer, try also changing the orientation and getting back it to normal.

After that, if you post your full number model, we can also try to update some of the drivers.

Regards

I recently acquired a Thinkpad yoga 15 laptop and while playing with the options I realised it completely lacked Bluetooth functionality. I have tried updating the Intel PROSet Bluetooth software, updating the network adapter drivers, disabling the adapter altogether and reenabling it through the BIOS. I don't know if the Bluetooth adapter is supposed to appear as a different adapter in the Device Manager or if only the Intel Dual-Band AC 7265 is supposed to show up (under the Advanced tab, Bluetooth is labeled as Active). No bluetooth option is present in the PC and devices options menu... I even reset to factory settings in case it was an issue with a third party program, but even there, same situation. Am I missing something? Please help me to get this feature working!

I just got my Thinkpad Yoga 15 yesterday.  I have observed that whenever I connect my Sony bluetooth headphones to the computer, the Wi-Fi appears to quit working completely.  Has anyone else had this issue and what are some possible solutions?  This is kind of a deal breaker for me.

So I'm really at a loss with this issue.  I've done so much troubleshooting to no avail.  Removed soundcard and bluetooth and reinstalled.  Installed new drivers.  Deleting and repairing devices. Changing the WiFi to "Prefer 5.2GHz band".  Other troubleshooting based on discussions on other forums... The Problem. Brand new Thinkpad P71.  I have two of the same external speakers I've used with my iPhone via Bluetooth to stream audio and never had a problem.  The speakers are the Oontz 3XL. When I connect with my P71, it can go 24 hours or two minutes, but it will just suddenly stop playing audio.  The blue light on the speaker will turn off.  To get it to work again, I'll have to close the audio app and reconnect the Bluetooh.  Then it will run for anywhere from one minute to 24 hours and disconnect again. I also just bought a brand new Thinkpad X1 Yoga (2nd gen).  Exact same problem.  Did all the same troubleshooting. I mostly stream Sirius XM from a browser (and have tried different browsers as well).  I also play audio from iTunes.  The weird thing with iTunes is that when this happens, the Play/Pause button in the software will also stop working, unless I close the app and restart. It's definitely a Lenovo problem, since I am encountering the same problem on both systems.  I don't know if this could be related to BitDefender and/or Malware Bytes (both are inst... I am using a Windows 10 64-bit system and having bluetooth issues due to broken drivers. Reproduction:- go to Windows 10 settings- click on bluetooth- let the system search for devices- (optional) switch off and on the bluetooth in order to reset the search Error:Windows does not find any devices. No headset, no controller, no phone. It was different a while ago, I could connect all these devices without difficulties. It is a driver error for sure, as I also booted a Live CD with Arch Linux distro, loaded bluez and bluez-utils, activated the bluetooth.service and did a device search with scan on in bluetoothctl. It immediately found all devices. I did try drivers on your support page: http://support.lenovo.com/de/de/...I did try one for Windows 8.1 x64 and one for Windows 7 x64. I also tried the automatic installation through Lenovo System Update. These all did happen on clean installation of Windows 10, no other software installed. How am I supposed to get bluetooth back running on Windows 10 again?

Answer:[ThinkPad Yoga S1 20C0] No Bluetooth devices found...

Hi.

Do you see the Bluetooth recognized on the "Windows Device Manager"?
Since you booted Linux and bluetooth is working I don't think it may be a hardware issue like you said.

Just in case did you updated the BIOS from the support site of your model ? There are some updated on the BIOS related to Window 10 compatibility.

I'm not sure which Bluetooth device you have on it. Is it the one from Intel. Maybe you can an updated driver on the Intel site, or sometimes I use DriverEasy (not from Lenovo) to help me find a newer driver on their database.

I hope this helps in something.

My system is a Dell Studio XPS 1640. I just upgraded to Windows 7 x64 From Vista x64. I have a built in "dell wireless 370 bluetooth module". the Drivers were not installed after upgrading , so i went to dells driver page, found what i needed and installed it. it worked great for about 10 minutes then the headphones that i had connected just stopped working. my module can not find them when it searches. my phone found them just fine. so i know its not a problem with the headphones. my headphones are(http://insigniaproducts.com/products...NS-BTHDST.html). i went to their site and downloaded and tried to install their bluetooth software and tried to install it, but nothing went further than i quarter of the progress bar. i also am unable to use the "wireless switch" to turn on and off my bluetooth. I am still very new to Bluetooth, but i dont think i am doing anything to wrong.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Answer:My Bluetooth Is not functioning

I recommend restoring BIOS defaults, as this is a good step to take when experiencing connectivity issues. To do that, power on the unit and press 'F10' when it first powers on, this should get you into the BIOS setup In the main tab, there should be an option for restore BIOS defaults (do not restore security defaults). Select that option and save changes and exit. I understand that you tried reinstalling the bluetooth driver, I would also recommend you to update your BIOS and Chipset to insure that there are no problems at the firmware level. After updating the firmware I would try again to reinstall the bluetooth driver. Below is a link to this unit?s driver page. http://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/hp-envy-touchsmart-m7-j000-notebook-pc-series/535497...

So I'm stuck again. I just bought an official wireless adapter made by Sony to connect my PS4 controller to my PC wirelessly so I may play Rocket League with it without needing a wire, and the adapter and controller appear to pair with each other, but the controller doesn't function in anything but Steam Big Picture.

I looked up stuff and I started the Bluetooth service. It started but searching for change bluetooth settings in the Control Panel still brought up no results. Nothing leading to the settings is found in Devices and Printers either. I found an article here to make a shortcut to the settings, and my adapter nor the controller appear in that window.

When I click on the Bluetooth settings button in that window and tick the box that would enable devices to discover my PC, it brings up the error box below. What's odd is that my adapter isn't unplugged through the whole process, and the controller appears to be paired with it, as aforementioned above. I don't have a Bluetooth card in my computer, so I opted for the Sony DS4 adapter. However, it detected and installed the drivers for the adapter itself.

If anyone could lend a hand, I'd be eternally grateful.

I had a T430 for half year, recently the bluetooth not functioning well.when I try to open a connected device(mobile phone), the device control window will show up for just 2 second, then turn off. If i keep trying for a couple times, and error message will show up: "This operation failed to initialize......."I had been using the WII remote for a while before this happened. It still can connect new device correctly. I have try uninstall the driver, For that 2 second I can see the control window has correct information for the mobile phone, Has anyone had the similar issue?

Answer:T430 Bluetooth not functioning well

yes i had something similar happen once. I tried to uninstall the bluetooth driver and reinstall the latest version of the bluetooth driver. That worked for a while, then it failed again. In the end i had to reinstall the OS from scratch, which solved the issue (i also had some other driver issues, and decided that reinstall the OS was the fastest way to resolve it).

Yoga 2 Pro i7 updated to Windows 10 Home.  I'm using a Microsoft Sculpt Bluetooth mouse - or WAS.  When the machine is booted, it it not finding the BT driver.  Actually the BT icon will appear momentarily in the taskbar after I enter my password but then disappears from the taskbar as other icons are loaded during boot.  BT is not found in the All Settings->Devices menu and it does not appear in Device Manger.  For some reason, the BT is loading and then being unloaded as the machine boots!  It has the original Intel N-7260 wifi module that was working fine under Win 8.1.  There are a number of posts here with suggestions and I've tried them all, except replacing the module (which was working fine with 8.1): Uninstall Win 8.1 BT drivers (bt247w81) and install (13k001af) BT drivers for Win 10 (from Lenovo website)Install (65kw01ww) wifi drivers for Win 10Update BIOS to (76cn43ww)Tried new Intel wifi driver 18.20.0Tried the BIOS Disable/Enable reboot for wifi All of these were tried multiple times with and without Power Management loaded, with and without my Avast! AV software enabled.  I have wasted HOURS on this mess. Does anyone have any ideas how I can get my Bluetooth back under Windows 10?

What error do you get?

What doesn't work... why?

Explaining in detail what your dongle is doing might help us help you better. I am going to have to say that the bluetooth dongle software you got does not support Vista x64, meaning, those drivers are only for XP or Vista 32 (if anything).

Was it working before or it never worked on your Vista 64 OS?

I am able to access bluetooth via the Settings page, Device Manager, etc.  Everything seems to show as fully functional, but I am not able to pair any devices.  It has previously worked just fine with any bluetooth device.  Now, nothing.  It will not pair to previously paired devices or new devices. I have deleted the bluetooth and reinstalled via the Lenovo tools and Windows auto discovery, and no luck.  There are others users in my organization with the same issue. Only thing that we point the finger at is a recent Windows Update, but I am not able to find anything from recent updates that could have changed the bluetooth functionality. Any advice? Thank you.

Hello, through "Lenovo Update & Drivers" utility i installed ThinkPad update "THINKPAD Bluetooth with Enhanced Data Rate Software II 6.2.1.3100" which is bluetooth solution by BROADCOM corp which has much better user interface and detailed settings than implemented Microsoft W7 bluetooth solution named "MICROSOFT Bluetooth Enumerator". The problem is that after installation of this update on my Windows 7 there is still functional this "MICROSOFT Bluetooth Enumerator". Because we've had the machine for 2 years, it's very difficult to find any information on this. Any help would be greatly appreciated: I confirmed that we purchased a Lenovo ThinkPad EDGE 0301CTO with bluetooth -- but until now, we have not ever tried to use it. [We're running Windows 7 [64-bit] on it.] There is no Bluetooth Control Panel with which to add a device [in our case, a bluetooth mouse]. The only information I can find lists using the Fn+F5 key to access a window to enable it [yet, this was for a different model]. Using these keys doesn't bring up any such window. I would suppose adding a bluetooth mouse would be much less of an ordeal than this is becoming. I must be missing something. Thanks in advance for any assistance.

Answer:Lenovo ThinkPad EDGE 0301CTO - Enabling Bluetooth and Adding Bluetooth Devices

Hi, musesupport

If you enter the BIOS of your machine by tapping Enter at the splash screen (screen that says Lenovo while starting up), there should be a tab called Security. Open this tab and then select I/O Port Access. Is there a Bluetooth setting in this list? If so, is it set to Enabled?

If the Bluetooth is set to Enabled, then I would recommend making sure all the drivers (Bluetooth, BIOS, and chipset, in particular) are up to date. All drivers for your machine can be found here.

Good luck, and let me know how it goes
Adam

Hello, I use my Yoga 900 to take notes in class and recently I have noticed that in order for the letter "i" to show up when I am typing, I have to either press it harder than the rest of the keys or hit it multiple times in order for it to register and type it on the screen. This is inconvenient because I usually end up going back in my notes and have to add most of the "i"s back in afterwards. Thank you for your help.

Answer:Lenovo Yoga 900 - "i" key non-functioning

Hi dbabiasz ,

Greetings.

As you described , seems this is more mechanical in nature so most likely external keyboard and onscreen key works ok with letter "i" . Best to call in Lenovo tech team for repair service for your laptop .

You may check the type of warranty service you have here and call in for this issue. It would be entire keyboard that they would fix and an onsite service warranty would be convenient if you need to use the laptop on a daily basis and cannot afford to send it for a depot repair.

English  24 hours a day 7 days/week 1-877-4-Lenovo, 1-877-453-6686 Schedule a Callback for faster support

If you don't have time to have it repaired at the moment since you're in class , then just remap the "i" key to a separate location .

Hope this helps.

Hi DML ,

Welcome to the Community Forums.

Usually a restore point is created before a Windows update , if sytem restore would not help , you may try to try clean boot and  fully uninstall the driver from device manager (placing a check box when prompted) .  On the device manager choose to update driver browsing from the computer , and allow to pick the driver navigating to the location of your newly downloaded driver.

Update us how it goes.

I updated my Yoga 11s (Haswell chipset with i5 processor) to Windows 10.  Windows 10 provides a newer driver for Bluetooth, but I installed the one from Lenovo's web site anyway - the one supposedly for both 8.1 and 10.  No matter what version I used (the one that was used when I installed Windows 10 or the one from Lenovo's web site), Bluetooth will not work properly on my Yoga 11s.Bluetooth does not start up enabled.  If I enabled it, once it turns on, I can no longer toggle it on and off.  I was somehow able to get my Jambox speaker and my Lumia Windows Phone paired with it shortly after installing Windows 10, but I can no longer connect the devices and I cannot remove the pairs either.  Further, if I try to pair the bluetooth Microsoft Arc Mouse the Yoga won't find it, even though it use to work under Windows 8.1.  I also cannot pair an HP bluetooth mouse I have.I have applied all updates from Microsoft so all patches, including the recent large one are all applied and running on the Yoga 11s.  I think there is a drive problem that Lenovo needs to fix.Anyone else had any luck with such devices as a Microsoft Arc Mouse?

I recently upgrade to windows 10 and have since started to experience a weird issue.I use a BT Keyboard and Mouse, so I would be very sensitive with any issue with BT.After the upgrade I started experincing random crashes of the BT driver.I reinstalled the latest drivers - which fixed the problem until they crashed again. To fix it, I was able to reboot and the problem was fixed. I then opted to simply re-install with no reboot, which fixes the problem. The eventlog reports BTHUSB crashed with event ID 17, at which point, the BT icon disappears. The only fixs is reinstalling the driver, which is only temporary.Any other ideas on what I can try to permanently fix this (it was not a problem in windows 8.1)?Thanks

Answer:Yoga 2 Pro - Windows 10, Bluetooth Driver keeps crashing

Well, I don't have the exact problem, but similar - bluetooth plain doesn't work.  I can't find devices or pair or anything.  I uninstalled the driver and downloaded the new one, reinstalled, rebooted - still nothing.  I can start the service manually but I don't get a bluetooth option amywhere.  It's no longer in the device manager. I also use a bluetooth keyboard and mouse (I use an aux second monitor and usually have my keyboard flipped under) and right now I am stymied.

If so what precautions should I take? Which drivers will I have to download after the install to make everything work properly? Thank you

Every couple of months I have an issue with my Latitude 3550 laptop where the Bluetooth stops functioning out of the blue (pun kind of intended).  The error I get is:
Disabling / enabling or uninstalling /reinstalling the Bluetooth under Device Manager does not fix it.  Neither does reinstalling the driver.  So far the only thing I have found that resolves it is to update (or reapply) the latest BIOS firmware.  Then it works again for a couple of months.
Any reason that this would keep happening, or at least is there a lesser means to fix this issue?  Thanks for any input you may have!

Hi Robin and welcome to the forum, You could try to download and install the "Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable" from Microsoft and then give it another try. The error is related to the installation of Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable that is included with some of the Lenovo software. Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable Package (x86):http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=32bc1bee-a3f9-4c13-9c99-220b62a191ee&displa... Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 SP1 Redistributable Package (x86):http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=200B2FD9-AE1A-4A14-984D-389C36F85647&displa... I'm not sure if you use the 32 or 64 bit version of Windows 7, but either way you need the 32 bit (x86) version of the redistributable in this case. -gan

I have run a Hardware scan and had one issue that doesn't happen in Windows 7, It is an error in the PCI/PCIe test (result code: WMB008000-ULAVBI) I was thinking this could be apart of the bluetooth not showing up. Since you have isolated a cable problem and with a known good cable that works ok with your laptop, the fastest fix would be to call in technical support for a replacement cable shipped to you.

Ever since I installed windows 10 the throttling on my yoga 15 has been rediculous. If the computer remotly heats up the programs that I am using slow down to a crawl randomly. This is especially evident on steam games and other heavy programs that require the dedicated graphics card. I have tried everything from reinstalling the nvidia drivers, updating the bios, clean installing windows 10, anything. I have not been able to find a solution for this and its getting quite annoying having my fps drop from 90 or 60 yo 5 every few seconds when before I could keep a solid 60+. Sometimes the fan revs up and down as my frame rates goes up and down. Has anyone found a solution for this? Or has Lenovo done released anything?

I uninstalled the windows 8.1 that came with my Thinkpad Yoga to installe windows 7 64-bit because there was no support for Power Manager ( a tool that allows you to charge your battery only upto a certain percentage (eg 40%) which helps reduce battery aging when the notebook is mostly operated on AC power).Doing that required me to fully clean the Hard-disk during the installation process.I installed almost all of the drivers available on  http://support.lenovo.com/us/en/products/laptops-and-netbooks/thinkpad-yoga-series-laptops/thinkpad-...for thinkpad yoga and windows 7 64 bit.Happily, this provided me the Power manager, and I can use it just as I wanted. However, all these has brought in additional issues which are listed below:  1. The touch pad right click doesn't work. Only two finger tap works as right click.2. The touch pad gestures for zoom and scroll doesn't work at all.3. The screen auto-rotate doesn't work.4. The touch screen gesture for zoom doesn't work. I did install the ultra-nav and screen-rotate drivers, but I get error messages regarding synaptics ... not working and also sensor driver not working during the windows startup. Any help please? Thank you.

Answer:Issues with Thinkpad yoga on Windows 7 64-bit

Follow up: After going through windows update and installing windows 7 service pack 1, some of the issues have been resolved. The screen auto rotates based on device orientation. The two finger scroll and zoom works on the touchpad. The physical right click still doesn't work. (The two finger tap for right-click is working). One important feature that I still find mssing is that the two finger pinch to zoom doesn't work on the Touchscreen (it works in Touchpad though). So, when I am browsing websites on Tablet mode, there is no way to zoom in! Thanks.

I'd like to ask about your experience with updating your 2nd generation Thinkpad Yoga 12 laptops from Windows 8.1 to Windows 10. I've seen the black screen problem described, that seems to be an issue with the Synaptics driver and hopefully has been fixed with the current latest release of the synaptics driver from the synaptics site.  According to the discussion thread here anyway. But have you encountered any other issues?  Has Windows 10 been a positive upgrade for battery life?  Any tips on steps before upgrading, such as any driver incompatibility and setting up a back-up? My Yoga 12 is the variety with an i5 5300U and a "hybrid" 16GB SSD + 500GB HDD. Thanks!

Answer:Thinkpad yoga 14 little issues after windows 10

Hi danielmb007 It took me some time to stabilize Windows 10 on the TPY 14 (20DM008UUS). I went into a "driver updating rampage" for it and I have it stabilized right now. This are my tips to update the drivers on my Thinkpad Yoga, but you can decide how deep you want to go for driver updating:1) Try first Windows Update and update all the drivers and Patches2) Try Lenovo System Update to get any new/missing drivers.3) Try to install Lenovo Settings and Lenovo Companion from the Windows App Store, Lenovo Companion also has a "update driver search"4) Sometimes all that software does not recognize some updated / missing driver. Check Lenovo's Support Site and search for your specific model drivers. This will be the Lenovo supported drivers, but if you want to look for other update drivers directly from the manufacturer (AS IS) you can try:5) Depending on the machine chipset/processor, you can try Intel Driver Update Utility, or AMD Update Utility.6) I also like to use DriverEasy, which offers a a decent driver update recognition for free, but also tries to sell you the full version. Just be warned that the drivers that are not from the Lenovo support site are "AS IS" and under your own risk, I install them since I'm confortable installing, and un-installing Windows drivers, remember that a wrong driver may turn up Windows un-usable. Regards

Hi everybody,
Trying to fix an issue with a Cooper Case Executive case that features a Bluetooth keyboard and touchpad. The keyboard pairs and connects just fine after connecting to the Eve T1 tablet running Windows 10, but after entering the digits and hitting enter, the keyboard doesn't function.
I've contacted the manufacturer of the tablet, received the drivers, reinstalled them, no luck. The manufacturer says it works for them and they found my issue to be "strange". I've also contacted the manufacturer of the case, they sent the manual, and I am doing it correctly.
The keyboard works just fine with my Lumia 1520, but not with the Eve T1 or the Surface Pro 2.
Any help would be much appreciated as I'm growing somewhat frustrated with dealing with this Bluetooth issue on Windows 10.
Thanks for reading, would love to buy someone a few beers if they could help.

At my wits end! These are the devices:

Windows 7 enterprise x64 on a lenovo thinkpad w541.

Sony mdr-zx770bn bluetooth headset

I can 'pair' the devices (inasmuch as an 'MDR-ZX770BN' icon shows in Devices and Printers). But drivers are never located. I get "bluetooth peripheral device - driver not found". In Device Manager, I get three new yellow-flagged devices in the 'other devices' category.

Sony's website says there are no drivers for this headset (implying, I suppose, that I should use the built-in Windows drivers). Their website explicitly mentions that this headset is supported by Windows 7.

Contacted Sony chat support and wasted about 45 minutes with them, other than to confirm that indeed there are no Sony drivers for this headset, and that indeed the headset is supported by Windows 7. They told me to contact Microsoft.

Microsoft's website has information on my error message: obtain the driver from the peripheral's manufacturer.

I'm now stuck in FPP (finger-pointing purgatory).

However I found one ray of light: I found a couple of threads in various forums that recommend manually updating the drivers of the unknown devices to use the Microsoft "Standard serial over Bluetooth link". I did so, and now Device Manager sees four new entries under Ports (COM and LPT): four different instances of the serial-over-bluetooth driver, each using a different COM port (COM4, COM5, COM6, COM7).

I did a properties of the headset's bluetooth icon in Device... Read more

Hello everyone, this is my first post here so pm me if you have questions because I will blow through this quickly: Have you installed/upgraded to win 10? do you have no bluetooth driver or even the option to get it? Well I took 2-3 hours to figure it out so you don't have to! First make sure that bluetooth is enabled in your bios (F1 at startup) the setting is tucked away in there, mine was diabled for some reason. Second install the "universal" win 10 DRIVER from Intel which is NOT ON THE SUPPORT SITE: http://downloadmirror.intel.com/25172/eng/WP-BT_17.1.1529.1613_t64.exe Third: Download and install this overlay key crap that lenovo has on thier support site called on screen display (for win 10) can't find it, the site had crashed for me. Fourth: restart computer Fif: launch C:\DRIVERS\HOTKEY\OSD\F5\TpFnF5.exe and use the gui to enable bluetooth A bluetooth icon should pop on your home bar tool tray, led should also come on indicating it is active, and also under devices in windows 10 you should be able to toggle it on and pair devices (you can also get there by double clicking the icon)  thank me now or later, but lenovo's support for windows 10 compliantcy is disgusting. I love my T510 and only this once has let me down. bad lenovo, BAD!

Answer:Lenovo Thinkpad T510 Windows 10 bluetooth not show...

I'll thank you now. I had them same issue as you on my T510 and figured there's got to be a driver out there somewhere. Couldn't find anything in Lenovo support and no reference to any testing or pending support for T510 with windows 10. Your solution worked. I checked BIOS and found it was enabled for bluetooth. All I did after that was step 2 in your post and got the driver. At that point I thought I'd just give it a go and see what happens. Went to the TpFnF5.exe (on my computer it was in  C:\SWTOOLS\DRIVERS\HOTKEY\OSD\F5\TpFnF5.exe) launched it, turned on the bluetooth radio and was back in business. Connected to a bluetooth boombox and it worked no problem.  I put a shortcut to that file in my task bar so I don't need to screw around with getting the F5 hotkey going. Upgraded to windows 10 5 days ago. So far everything I normally use on the T510 is working properly. Unless the thing blows up tomorrow, I don't know why Lenovo so far hasn't supported it for win 10. Thanks again.

Hallo!

Answer:Lenovo Thinkpad Bluetooth Laser Mouse hakt und ruckelt seit Creators Update am Thinkpad P70 ...

I got the same problem.... But first let me translate this for everybody here.  My P70 (or in my case P71) has a problem to keep the connection estimated between the Lenovo mouse and my Laptop. Got the current driver installed.  The German guy above me got the same issue after the creators update.   I set everything Bluetooth related in Device Manager up to NOT let windows turn of the device to save power.  The mouse cuts out for 5 sec and comes back on. If you turn the mouse upside down during that time I noticed that the battery led toggles on and off. So it reboots. So I assume it's driver related to because it worked perfectly fine before on the L530 guys machine.

I've bought a Yoga 300-IBR to work with while I am at the university. After just 9 days of use i noticed that my laptop became a lot slower, even the simpliest tasks could cause major lags. I started looking for the source of my problem and I found out that only 2 GB of RAM were available. This laptop has 4 GB from the factory, which are just enough to run Windows 10 and to have some basic multitasking capabilities. Standard hardware-scanning software from Lenovo didn't recognize any problems except that only 1 RAM stick was still working. I'm highly concerned of the laptop's quality since I have treated it like a treasure ( no disassembling, no overheating, no moisture whatsoever, always kept clean and polished  ) and I'm wondering what are my options. What should I do with it now? Try to open it up and check whether some bad quality soldering could be the issue and possibly repair it? Or should I send it in for a warranty repair which will take more time? Or should I contact the online shop, where I've bought this particular laptop? Please, give me some advices.

I noticed today that the backspace key stopped working when pressed on the lower left edge. This is the spot that I naturally hit more often. When clicked on the middle or any other edge, all is fine. It's just like the quater of the key is not resposive now. Really makes it more difficult for me to type now as it takes at least twice as many strokes to delete something before I hit on the spot that works
Anyone alse had the same issue? Any ideas how to fix?

Thank you

I am having problems printing. I first tried to set up an HP printer. It hooked up to the network fine, but I couldn't get anything to print from my computer. So I returned it, bought an Epson. Having the identical problem. I have spent more than 5 hours total on the phone with the Epson people. I don't think the problem is with the printer, as I can print to the printer, which is visible on my network, through my phone's Epson utility.I found this similar situation in the "Windows-Based Tablets" section of this site: "02-02-2014 08:18 AMI've got a problem that's driving me crazy. I have a Thinkpad Yoga X1, windows 10, all updates installed. It fires random window key presses while using the computer, very regularly. This causes severe interruption to the use of the laptop. I don't see any phantom touches on the screen, but it does have a tough windows key outside the screen area, and I'm wondering if that does the phantom touches. Any ideas? What should I try?

Has anyone else had issues with Thinkpad Yoga 15 orientation not working windows 10?I realize the lenovo support page states it should be in tablet mode in windows 10 and the device itself for the orientation tile to appear, but The windows 10 orientation tile is not even appearing.I know there is a rotation lock button on the side of the laptop, nothing seems to appear when pushing it.I can manually set the orientation through Intel control panel settings and through windows 10 display settings.I've tried in table mode, restarting the laptop in tablet mode, still doesn't work. The SensorService is running in services. Is there a way to verify the SDO sensor is being loaded by this service?I've installed both Chipset device software win 10 x64, and intel management engine win 10 x64 from the lenovo website.I feel I'm missing/havn't tried something, just havn't figured out what yet, any ideas? Thanks,anthany11

Hi Can you check the Windows "Device Manager" and see if by any chance is there a device that is not recognize or does not has the correct drivers? I have a Thinkpad Yoga 14 and there is a driver that detects if it on laptop or slate mode. When it came to driver I always try:1)"System Update" utility from Lenovo. If you do not have it already installed check it here. 2) The Intel Driver Update Utility,. to update Intel drivers. AMD has his own tool. (Under your own risk) 3) If you have experience installing drivers on Windows. I found it very usefull to use DriverEasy. It offers good enought (freeware) driver recognition of the things installed on your machine. But please notice that installing the wrong driver may screw things up. (Under your own risk) Remember that Intel Driver Update Utility and DriverEasy are not supported by Lenovo, this is only a suggestion to try to get the latest driver for your machine. Regards

The current configuration of my system (as bought) is 4Gb RAM.  According to the specifictions, it is upgradable to 8Gb.  I had a conversation with Sales Support via Chat trying to find the correct part number for 8Gb memory to replace the 4Gb.  I was told that as my system is still under warranty, I would need to contact Technical Support for this to happen.  Having done a number of searches on this forum, would I be right in suspecting that the existing 4Gb is soldered in to place - hence the need for a Warranty call to upgrade.  I was advised that any attempt to make the change myself would void the warranty.Any thoughts please.

http://thinkpads.com/support/hmm/hmm_pdf/tp_11e_yoga11e_hmm_en_sp40f29949.pdfThis seems to say there's one stick of socketed RAM.The bottom cover and the memory module are both marked as "optional-service CRU", so you won't really void warranty by replacing it yourself. The required RAM specification is this: PC3-12800 DDR3L SDRAM 1600MHz SODIMM. Just find an 8GB stick with those specs.

Answer:Thinkpad Yoga: Plugged in not charging. Windows 8.1

Hi I have had the same problem - got my Thinkpad Yoga on the 2/1/14. Windows 8.1 OS. The initial power management option in 'Lenovo settings' when I installed the OS provided for an option to 'Automatically optimize for battery life? - which I have just read elsewhere was supposedly removed as it had issues with Windows 8.1 (I could not agreee more) and got it resolved myself through some trial and error and retesting to prove the bug was repeatable for my own peace of mind as to the cause of the error. The only reason I am telling you the above is because you might have got yourself where you are by doing what I did - and that reverting out is not as simple as turning off that 'Automatically optimize for battery life? back to 'Full power'. I assume the 'Lenovo settings' software is dynamically provided over the internet, because that 'Automatically optimize for battery life? power menu option has now (fortunately) gone missing in the past 36 hours. HOWEVER, as I am having numerous OS blue screen of death issues, I reloaded the OS from scratch off the recovery drive to try and stabilise the OS and experienced the exact same issue with the machine not recharging after the OS was reinstalled. My best guess is that they have progammed the same power management bug into the recovery disk. Here is how I got it charging again... 1. Select 'Control Panel' under the Windows desktop (hold down the Windows keyboard ... Read more

So I've had this Yoga 12 for about 3 moths now. In the past month, after I installed a new windows update, the touchpad and trackpoint would not work, like it was disabled. I tried uninstalling the driver and reinstalling-- did not work. I even reset the computer. STILL DID NOT WORK. So I ran the driver verifier which told me that the one of Lenovo products had problem with it--I don't remember which one-- so I uninstalled it. Still didn't work. After all that, I tried for the last time to uninstall the synaptics drive. When I uninstalled it... it was still there! I don't know how, but it was still there and now the touchpad and trackpoint both works. Well, sporadically. It will work for a few minutes, then won't work for a few minutes (or more). So.. that's where I am now (actually, right now, as I am writing this, only the trackpoint is working. oop nvm it stopped working). Any thoughts on how to fix this problem? Thanks! Also, when the touchpad & trackpoint works, the windows buttons are more condensed, while when it doesn't work, the buttons are more spread out (see below links). "condensed""spread out" p.s. also, does anybody's computer lag severely when you press the CapsLock button?? Which kind of disables the keyboard for a solid 7 seconds???

Answer:Touchpad problems with Thinkpad Yoga 12- windows 10

Hi
Welcome to the forums.

According to your full model number, I can recommend you first to check the Lenovo support site for your model and update the latest drivers.

But there had been also reports that some trackpads of the Thinkpad Yoga 12 had some issues ( ThinkPad Yoga 12 manufactured prior to October 2015. )
Here it is the link about it, please check it out.

Just got my thinkpad today in the mail. I went about uninstalling the included Norton antivirus trial with the intention of turning on windows defender. I uninstalled Norton in the control panel and then used Norton's removal tool just to make sure.

When I tried to turn windows defender on in action center nothing happened. No messages or pop ups or anything. After some googling I was able to edit a defender registry file to let me turn it on. When I try to turn it on now the following happens:

Hi, First post, I hope this is the correct spot, this is more Windows10 rather than X1 Yoga specific per se... If I reset Windows 10 from the recovery partition, will this include ALL the software included when I first received the laptop (including any Lenovo add ons)?  In other words, does it reset Windows to *exactly* the way it was when I received it from the factory?  I need the details on how Lenovo sets up the recovery partition. I haven't had the laptop long, and I'm happy to reinstall what little I've done since receiving it (mainly Office 365). (More details:  I'm setting it up to dual boot Windows and Linux.  I want to fix the bootloader partition.  There are other approaches I could use, but am happy to reset Windows as long as Lenovo has set the recovery partition to be identical to factory settings.  I'll create a recovery disk and system backup after I do the reset, so I have additional options in the future.)

I reset my yoga 12 to factory settings and upgraded to windows 10. After booting up I removed a bunch of bloatware and I think I removed something important because I just noticed that there is no microphone in the device manager. How do I get it back?

Answer:Thinkpad yoga 12 - No microphone installed - windows 10

Hey, I have this problem too, sort of. I've had my yoga 12 for about a month now and the internal microphone is no longer showing up in the device manager. Not only that, but my computer won't even detect an external microphone. I don't know that it's a problem with something you deleted (at least assuming we are having the same problem) because I didn't do that. I know this is a long way of saying I have no idea how to help you, but at least you know you aren't the only one? I've tried reinstalling drivers and I can't think of what else to do.

I updated to Windows 10 last night on my brand new TPY 14 and afterwards the keyboard, trackpad and trackpoint don't work. In fact, as far as I can tell, only the function key works -- at least, turning on the keyboard backlight (fn-space) does. I've tried updating drivers but it says it's up to date. The Device Manager says the keyboard is working fine but it says that "Thinkpad UltraNav" cannot start (code 10), with this explanation: "Insufficient system resources exist to complete the API". Can anyone  give my any suggestions on this? It's pretty frustrating to have the keyboard die less than a day after buying the computer.

Did you update your BIOS before upgrading to Windows 10? There's an entry that vaguely says "Core update to supprot windows 10."http://support.lenovo.com/us/en/products/laptops-and-netbooks/thinkpad-yoga-series-laptops/thinkpad-...At this point, I'd recommend using the bootable ISO instead of flashing from within Windows:http://support.lenovo.com/us/en/products/laptops-and-netbooks/thinkpad-yoga-series-laptops/thinkpad-...Which you should be able to put on a flash drive instead:http://www.thinkwiki.org/wiki/BIOS_Upgrade#Booting_from_a_USB_Flash_drive

I've got a Roku Streaming Stick which worked very well to mirror my screen or extend the desktop of my Thinkpad Yoga 15 (with dual graphics Intel HD Graphics 5500 and NVIDIA GeForce M840) under Windows 8.1Pro 64bit.But it does not work anymore with Windows 10Pro 64bit.I can connect, but the screen stays black. It's not a Windows 10 or Roku problem as such as it still works just fine with my Lenovo TPT8 and Lenovo TPT10 with Windows 10. I've tried deactivating the secondary graphics card, I've updated to the latest Intel WiDi drivers, I've run Lenovo Update and Drivers tool, so all drivers should be up to date.

Hi, After upgrade to Windows 10 I noticed a major bug in touchpad driver. If you turn on TPY (from complete shutdown or sleep/hibernation), while leptop is tilted to one side, then the touchpad works in right angle to the regular finger movements. The incorrect movement of pointer will not resolve unless you turn on TPY again in a complete horizontal setting. The bug is only seen in Windows 10 and I did not have this bug in Windows 8.1. I'm using the latest driver: Synaptics ThinkPad UltraNav Driver Version 19.0.17. 2 Anybody tried this so far?I wish Lenovo solve the issue soon. Thanks,Amir
