TP Yoga: Mouse Lag and Trackpoint issues

Question: TP Yoga: Mouse Lag and Trackpoint issues

Hello, I just got this TP Yoga and have had some issues with it right away. First, the trackpoint is not working. Second, my bluetooth mouse is very laggy. Basically, everytime I leave it for a few seconds I need to double click or move it for abotu 2-3 seconds before it starts working again. These things combined make this very annoying to work on. What I have done: restarted the computer, reinstalled windows, updated to the latest drivers on the lenovo website, then called tech support. My option now is to send it back and lose my computer for 10 days. Anyone else have any suggestions? Thank you all!

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Answer: TP Yoga: Mouse Lag and Trackpoint issues

Have you tried disabling any power saving features on Bluetooth? Maybe the mouse is going to idle. I had a similar issue with a MS BT 5000 mouse. Not sure why your TrackPoint isn't working though. Does the touchpad work?

My trackpoint/pad keeps going out intermittantly, it works till it sleeps, then it doesn't work anymore and the mouse pointer dissapears. rebooting or putting it to sleep and back sometimes fixes the issue. sometimes it takes several cycles of reboots and sleeps over days before it comes back.  I've gone through tones of drivers and none fix it. replaced the trackpad with no success. running windows 10 home x64. any ideas?

Hi
Welcome to the forums.

I have a Thinkpad Yoga 14 (20DM008UUS) with Windows 10 (64bits)  version 1511 and I'm not having issues with the Thinkpad/Trackpad when I hibernate or sleep the machine.

Here it is my driver version just in case:

Check out which version do you have installed.
Maybe it can also be good to upddate some other drivers like chipset and power management just in case.

Hi All, My Lenovo Yoga 2 Pro has been presenting itself with a bunch of inter-related problems that have made it difficult for me to google the symptoms: 1: Bottom row of keys (Z-?)+ spacebar does not work2: Backspace works, but only once. If I type another3: Some keys are mapped incorrectly: pg down turns the screen blank (like the f9 key), the screen brightness down works but also pulls up the project screen (f10), there are probably others I haven't found yet4: Mouse trackpad works only intermittently5: While typing strange things sometimes happen (things being highlighted or deleted randomly) as though keys/the mouse were being pressed. I've bought a USB keyboard w/ a trackpad and thankfully it works.  I'm currently using it with my screen folded back to try to eliminate the built-in trackpad but problem #5 persists. These problems started up yesterday. I did a full virus scan (nothing turned up) and then recovered Windows 10(keeping my files) and all problems continued. My keyboard drivers are up to date. This whole situation is strange and kind of difficult to describe, so I apologize if things are unclear. This description wasn't comprehensive, I've neglected some smaller effects that go away. I appreciate any help you might have.

I just bought my yoga 12 thinkpad with windows 10 and the mouse has just stopped working/disappears. i have tried messing with the drivers, and I've uninstalled and reinstalled the Point Device Driver from Synoptics multiple times. Its giving me a code 10 on the driver (I believe meaning it can't talk to the rest of the computer) and everytime I try to update the drivers nothing happens (i think because I just downloaded the driver off the website). Any help would be greatly appreciated!  Thanks,  Patrick

Hey all,Is anyone else having an issue with disabling the right side mouse swipe feature? I hate having the windows charms pop up anytime my mouse is anywhere close to right edge of my screen. I have disabled this in two different places and I'm STILL having that **bleep** screen come up from the right side. Someone help please!

My laptop uses a track point mouse, which is a red covred plastic thing in the middle of my keyboard on my laptop. I am using an IBM thinkpad 600x laptop. Anyways, my mouse on my laptop is broken. it goes all over my screen and i can't control it. it is spastic, and it does not move alot of times as well. And I have tried to disable it, but it did not work. Also, when I plug a regular mouse in, it works fine, unless the trackpoint is acting up. I want to disable the trackpoint mouse, but still use a regular mouse. Is that possible?

I've owned ThinkPad laptops for the past 20 years.  My most recent purchase was a ThinkPad X1 Yoga running Windows 10.  My prior version was a ThinkPad Edge 520 with Windows 7. What I've noticed is that the "sensitivity" option is no longer available for the TrackPoint mouse.  I've attached a screenshot of the old Ultranav utility which allowed for the sensitivity to be adjusted from Light to Heavy touch.  On the new version, there is only the option to adjust the speed from Slow to Fast (which was also available on the prior version). I have no idea what the sensitivity is set by default, but it's definitely not a Light touch.  This is annoying especially if you have to scroll through log pages (web page or documents).  This is a real annoyance because it is so much more diffcult to use the TrackPoint, so much so, I'm debating whether to buy a mouse, which I haven't used in over 20 years. Anyway we could get UltraNav to add that functionality in soon???

I am not a fan of the new "clickpad", I'm a long time ThinkPad user so my pointing device of choice is the Trackpoint (eraser).  I've set the control panel on this for "Trackpoint Only", and at least the virtual buttons are useable now.  HOWEVER... the "middle button" seems to be stuck in only the "scroll" mode.  The latest control panel doesn't seem to have an option to set it as "normal middle button" - it is just doing this scrolling thing.  I would like to set the middle click action to a regular "middle click", not scrolling.  Anyone know if there is a registry key or some other way to do this, and not the scrolling thing? Thanks!

Thinkpad Yoga user here.  I'm having a problem when I wake my computer up from sleep (or sometimes on re-boot) the trackpoint and touchpad do not work.  The touch screen is still fine and if I plug in a USB mouse the cursor shows up then. This has been happening intermittently over the past 2 months or so, it is becomming more frequent. It usually requires a hard reboot (where I hold the power button until the machine turns off) before the trackpoint and touchpad come back.  Recently even this hasn't worked every time.  It has come to the point where, if I put my computer into sleep, there's probably a 75% chance the pointers won't work when I wake it up and that it will require multiple re-boots to get them back. I don't know if this is an issue with the synaptic drivers (I've updated them, reverted to older versions, uninstalled and reinstalled but the problem continues). Or maybe it is a hardware problem, I'm not sure. If anyone (preferably lenovo) has any suggestions on how to fix this, I wold be very appreciative. Thanks!

Hi everyone For the TrackPoints of older ThinkPads, there are usually three types of replacement caps - classic dome, soft dome or soft rim. I recently bought a ThinkPad X1 Yoga which supports "super low profile" TrackPoint caps if my research is correct. I'd like to try the concave soft rim caps, but in the only super low profile pack that I've found there are only standard soft dome caps. Do soft rim caps even exist in the super low profile variation which fit the X1 Yoga? Thanks!

The trackpoint on my Yoga 12 frequently stops working. Trackpad and buttons continue to function. I am running the latest drivers.  I just received my machine back from the depot and they just reinstalled Windows 10 and the problem is still occuring.  Whenever it stops I can reinstall the synaptics trackpoint driver and it comes back to life.  Sometimes it is only for a minute other times much longer.  Any ideas?  Thanks in advance.

I am new to the Lenovo X240 although I have had the X200 and X220. When I click on the Left mouse space on the x240, or what I think is the "button", different menus pop up. I also cannot get my cursor into an exact position because menus are popping up all the time. When I get a menu that pops up, sometimes it takes me 3 tries to get it to stop so I can make a correction or add a word.If anyone know the answer to this I would reatly appreciate some help.RAM

After using the ThinkPad Yoga 260 for about two weeks, both the trackpoint and touchpad are now unresponsive. I've tried updating the drivers, rolling back the drivers and uninstalling the drivers and installing the latest one. None of it works. I managed to get it working once with a BIOS update but as soon as I put it in sleep mode, both became unresponsive again. Under Mouse Porperties the TouchPad option is grayed out and the TrackPoint option is sometimes grayed out and sometimes not. Regardless, it is completely unresponsive when enabled and disabled.

After switching to tablet mode in Windows 10, the touchpad and trackpoint are both disabled. I tried disabling and re-enabling it in the BIOS, no effect. Tried updating to the latest ELAN driver, no luck... in fact, there's no option for enabling / disabling the touchpad in the dialog box, and the ELAN dialog box is just a big blank. Tried uninstalling and reinstalling all Lenovo drivers; no luck. I saw some suggestions that I should disable some sort of Intel sensors in the BIOS, but I couldn't find those settings.  Suggestions?

Hello everyone!  Recently I found that the trackpad and trackpoint would suddenly lose response. The cursor is gone; pressing any button---nothing. But I could still use the touchscreen to navigate and the Windows 10 doesn't freeze.  It happens out of the blue. It has happened two times in 2 or 3 days. Those times I was using my computer broswing the web, unlike others having this issue from waking up. I updated the mouse driver but this issue is still not resolved.  Do anyone has similiar issue? I would really appreciate any help! Have a good day

Hello,  I have had my yoga 12 for a couple of months now, and I just recently noticed an issue with the Trackpoint. After using the trackpoint for several minutes, 10-20 mins, the trackpoint will stop working. The buttons and touch pad remain functional, however the red trackpoint ceases to function. The only way I have been able to fix it is by rebooting the entire machine. I have searched around and havent seen a clear solution to my issue. My system spec's are listed below. I bought a Yoga 460 from the Lenovo Outlet (refurbished) and it is completely wrong on specs (wrong graphics, wrong HD, wrong display, etc.). However, moving beyond that for a moment, I am having two issues related to trackpads/trackpoints. I am on Windows 10 and haven't even installed anything. (1) The cursor is arbitrarily moving around the screen. When I turn off the Trackpoint, the cursor no longer moves erratically. (2) Once I turn off Trackpoint, the Trackpad is still super laggy. Moving the cursor across the screen is choppy and slow. The touchscreen, meanwhile, is lightning quick and fine. I updated my drivers and hardware checks out in Lenovo Solutions Center. I am terribly disappointed in the product I have received so far and hope that once I return the product and receive the product I actually ordered.

Hi, I have a ThinkPad Yoga 12 2nd gen with these specs: -Processor: Intel core i5-5300U-Ram: 8GB-Hard Drive: Samsung 850 Pro 512GB SSD (installed by myself) and SanDisk 16GB PCIe M.2-Screen: Full HD 10 point multi-touch with Wacom digitizer-BIOS: JEET78WW (1.27) The trackpad and trackpoint on this laptop has stopped working the second time and with that, the CPU fan has halted as well, with the backlit function of the keyboard non-working as well. The fan is really important because my heavy-duty use of this machine makes it really hot real quick. My laptop is pretty much useless without it and want a solution for it. I did try to update my BIOS for this because on some forums, this was an issue fixed by updating their BIOS. The system does not recognize the Synaptics trackpad and trackpoint (yes the TRACKPOINT is not working as well) and I have tried downloading the drivers of the trackpad, but to no luck the system did not recognize the trackpad. It seems as if there is a faulty connection physically, but I could not figure it out. The first time it happened, I sent it back for an in Depot Service, but this time around, I am out of warranty and when I asked a ThinkPad Certified Technician, he recommended me to simply buy a new machine rather than getting it serviced because it would cost me more than half as much of the original price of my laptop. I really like this laptop and don't want to change it, but if I have to, the 8th generation Intel pro... Hi, I have win98 on my laptop right now along with win2000 dual boot, at first I had win 98, then I decided to upgrade to xp and with that the mouse pointer was there but didn't move at all, on the ibm website it said the new driver was only good for win2000 on my model of thinkpad so I installed win2000, upgrade and then clean install with the newest driver for that model, now there is no mouse pointer at all, I had to put 98 on so I could use the laptop, any ideas?

I have always used an IBM lap with a trackpoint mouse (that small little nub above the "B" key).

I purchased a similar keyboard for my desktop (IBM part #84H8566) and have been relatively happy with it. Plugged into the back of the computer, it takes up both PS/2 ports (for the keyboard, itself, and the mouse).

My question is this: I want to keep using my keyboard, but I'd like to add an external trackball and mouse (probably a Microsoft Intellipoint or a Logitech). I particularly want the ability to have a scroll wheel.

Does anyone out there know if there is any way to add this trackball/mouse and avoid a software conflict as I go from trackpoint/keyboard to trackball/mouse?

And....if no one out there has an answer, do you have a tech support number at IBM I could call (with or without a $$$ tech charge). I've been all over IBM's site and I can't find a "non-subscription" one-time tech number to call.

Thanks much !!

I bought a new T61 Thinkpad recently. From the begining I have been having problems with the trackpoint and touchpad mouse. At a time only one works and it is mostly the touchpad. I checked the BIOS setting and it is at automatic for both touchpad and trackpoint. Sometimes even the touchpad does not work. I have to restart the laptop couple of times for something to work. I have tried disabling touchpad in BIOS and end up not having the trackpoint also not work.In the thinkvantage productivity center it says that ultranav is not installed and I downloaded the ultranav update from lenovo website and installed it. Still the trackpoint does not work.I love the trackpoint and I hope some one can help me figure out what is happening.thanks

T40 Details:2373-92U I've been having this problem with my trackpoint and ultranav mice for quite some time - it seems that only the left button generates any response by the OS, and that response is most often a "right click."  The actual right button is unresponsive.  I've tried the option under "control panel -> mouse -> button configuration -> switch primary and secondary buttons"  whether checked or unchecked, the left button still has the same behavior.  Occasionally, the left button will stop working entirely within a window - apparently the best way to resolve this is to use the left button to click anywhere on the desktop: the context menu appears, and after using the left button to click on any item within the context window the left button will once again become responsive in all windows (although it will still act like the right button when clicking). External USB mice and Bluetooth mice do not have this problem - those mice respond properly to left/right clicks. My best guess is that the keyboard unit (08k4957 or 08k4986) needs to be replaced, however I'm hoping there's a more definitive test I can perform before shelling out the $$ for a new keyboard unit.  I say this because the ultranav mousepad also has the same problem and I see it plugs into a separate location within the laptop - is there another common component within the laptop that could cause common failure between the two built-in mice? Thank... This is just a minor inconvenience, but I was just curious: Does anyone know how to change the settings to make the mouse the same speed as the trackpoint? I just got a new mouse with 1200dpi and with the mouse sensitivity at about halfway, they both vary in speed. I hate having to switch it every time I move away from my desk. The mouse I had before worked fine (it was a cheap mouse).

by the way, i'm using vista ultimate 64 on an IBM x60 tablet pc.

Hey Guys, I'm just wondering if Lenovo has said anything about possibly switching back to tactile buttons for the trackpoint or not? Even if it's an after-market install, I'd still be really interested in this. From what I've used of the new setup, it ruins 1/2 of the reasons I chose ThinkPads and I'm looking for a new laptop, but am unable to justify using the awful new trackpoint buttons. For now I will likely go with an older model, but I was really hoping to get my hands on the t440p with 4 cores so I could actually do virtualization on my laptop. Thanks for any help!

The Trackpad is unusable on my Thinkpad Yoga 260. When I try to use it it doesn't respond most of the time. Strangly though when I use the very tip of my finger it does work. To me that sounds like the palm rejection is too harsh. Also the scrolling gesture doesn't work if I place my fingers vertically. It does work if I place them horizontally). The Trackpad is from Elantech. I tried changing the driver settings, re-installing it and nothing helped. The problem with the Trackpoint is that when I try to scroll vertically using the middle button the scrolling symbol often first shows up horizontally and I need to press the trackpoint hard to get it to scroll. This all on Windows 10. I am thinking that this is all a driver issue because I tried out Ubuntu and there it works without problems also uninstalling the driver gets the Touchpad to work but the gestures don't work then. But if this is a driver issue shouldn't everyone have this problem?

Hi! Just got a new T410. Since the first start of the system the mouse pointer is drifting over the monitor (upwards). When I remove the trackpoint cap nothing changes. The only thing to stop the drifting is to switch off the track point. Do you have an idea how I can stop this drifting of the track point?

Answer:drifting mouse pointer with trackpoint

Welcome to the forum!

Check to make sure you're not resting your finger on the TrackPoint when you're not actively using it.  That may stop the drifting that's going on.

Hi to the forum.   I am a newly registered user of this forum but have been using Thinkpads for quite a while (T30, T43 and T61).   The T61  - 8891-CTO -  is rather old by now too and recently exhibited the 1 long and then short beeps and would not boot.   The GPU most likely overheated - a guess.    Following online hints I did manage to get the system back.   However, in the process something must have gone wrong and the Trackpoint/buttons and the Touchpad do not work anymore.  The BIOS does report them both as present and they are set to 'automatic'. Finding some mention of fuses on Thinkpad motherboards online I was wondering if there is a single fuse for both the Trackpoint/buttons and the Touchpad somewhere on the T61 motherboard and if so, could someone please point out where that fues is located? thanks, Anton

Hey,I was wondering what I would need to do to fix the trackpad mouse button on my computer. Here is my situation:I own a thinkpad z60m and recently the trackpad left mouse button (from the bottom set under the pad) was not going up. I figured it was a button like the keyboard ones so I tried to gently pry it off, clean it and push it back in. However, it didn't snap back in and so the button is now no longer functional. Is there anyway I can replace the part or fix what I already have? Any and all advice would be greatly appreciated.

Answer:Replace Trackpoint mouse button

Well I just removed the keyboard of my thinkpad today and I'm pretty shure you can replace the whole keyboard. Or at least getting the keyboard out might enable you to better fix the button. Have you tried that?

So I have the updated Window 10 Home and Lenovo Settings Ver. 3.169.0.0. It doesn't allow me to adjust Trackpoint or Touchpad speed when I go to the tab "Input". Both speeds are kept lowest and I cannot scroll the bars at all. What I can do is go to Synaptics Control Panel to adjust the speeds. However every time I open the laptop again after Sleep or Reboot, the speeds go back to lowest again. Please help me solve this issue. Thanks!

Not sure if anyone else saw this issue before - I have a razor orochi bluetooth gaming mouse (dpi 6400) connected to my x1c (1st gen). The mouse moves too fast to use, so I reduced the mouse pointer speed. Then it turned out my trackpoint moved too slow to use.Wonder if there's a way to set pointer moving speed for trackpoint and mouse sperately?

Answer:Anyway to set pointer speed for trackpoint and mouse seperately?

Tried all possible solutions online, none worked. Then I desperately tried installing synapse, the game software from Razor, and turned out it was not just a game configuration managing tool, but also included driver. And with that, the mouse slowed down to reasonable speed and the trackpoint is not affected. Yay.

I have a Lenovo T60 that when undocked the Trackpoint and touchpad work as expected.  My docking stations has an older Logitech TrackMan "track ball" plugged into the PS/2 port.  When I dock my laptop neither the trackpoint or touchpad will work.  I can reboot, ect and they still won't work.  If while docked I unplug the trackball the Trackpoint pointstick and touchpad will start working again. Is it possible to have both the PS/2 trackball and the Trackpoint pointstick work at the same time?  The pointstick is great for emails but you can't beat the trackball for game play. Thanks in advanceMessage Edited by kharding6 on 06-13-2009 11:30 AM

Hi,For several months now, I have been having problems with the trackpad. It would start behaving erratically, usually after 15 or more minutes, and eventually right from startup or wakeup. Things would usually be better for a bit after a restart, but not for long. I just turned off the trackpad and switched to the trackpoint. It too starts to fail after a while, though I can often get it to work again by opening the laptop up to 180 degrees. This doesn't last, so now I am always carrying a usb mouse around. Ocassionally, on wakeup the keyboard does not work, but it often starts working after a few minutes.During this same period, I have had crashes - i.e. blue screens. This has only happened a couple of times when I am actually using the laptop, rather, it almost always happens when the computer is going to sleep or going into hibernation, or so I think. I have also noticed that the laptop sometimes has trouble going to sleep or into hibernation, or starting up again after a crash. Again, opening up the laptop often seems to help. Here is the latest crash report, the first two codes are always the same:Problem Event Name: BlueScreenOS Version: 6.1.7601.2.1.0.256.48Locale ID: 1033Additional information about the problem:BCCode: 9fBCP1: 0000000000000003BCP2: FFFFFA800708C060BCP3: FFFFF800020883D8BCP4: FFFFFA80074BA9F0OS Version: 6_1_7601Service Pack: 1_0Product: 256_1I also ran a crash dump analyzer on several of the dump files and it pointed to ntos kernel (or whatever - I do... The 3 physical buttons below the space bar, they aren't working.  The keyboard, the trackpoint stick and the touchpad ARE all working.  Just the 3 buttons don't work. I even tried unplugging/reseating the keyboard from the motherboard, it's all secured nicely, no dust or obstructions. Windows 8.1 installation (previously buttons working on this same install) I have tried almost everything.  Basically I didn't even notice anything was wrong because for months I was working with an external mouse and keyboard.  Then today, when I went back to work on the laptop without the external mouse/keyboard, I noticed the problem. Everything else is working.  I updated to the latest ultranav drivers.  I'm thinking there is something screwy somewhere in the registry or with some windows update or something?  Any suggestions very much appreciated.

Answer:Trackpoint physical mouse buttons not working

*bump* Issue still not resolved.  Anyone have any ideas? After lots of searching it seems it might be a fuse on the motherboard?  Would the fuse, as mentioned here...http://forum.thinkpads.com/viewtopic.php?f=43&t=100537...does any one know if that fuse (or something simillar to it on the x220) would allow for the point stick, the trackpad and trackpad clicks and all the keyboard keys to work, and only the signiture lenovo 3 mouse buttons not to work?? Without the 3 buttons my pointing stick is useless, and I always much prefer that option to the trackpad as I can use it while leaving my hands on the keyboard in typing position. I'm now thinking it's either a fuse, as described in the above link, or it is some sort of odd registry error or windows setting/update conflict or something like that. In a few days when I have more time, I am going to load Ubuntu on a memory stick, and live boot it without the need to install and see if the buttons work there.  They should be picked up as a regular mouse via default drivers.  If it's not working their, then it's a hardware or bios issue. Anyone who knows better, please inform me.  -cheers

So I updated my T520 to Windows 10. Ever since then when I use the trackpoint the mouse sometimes turns into this ugly thing. It might have something to when I rest my hand on the trackpad and use the trackpoint. Picture here The driver for Synaptics Pointing Device is 19.0.17.2.Not sure what UltraNav version of software I am running since I cant seem to find the version number anywhere. Please tell me how to disable this ugly thing.

Hi all. I've seen this issue posted about many times before and can't get a hold of lenovo. When I try to use the "contact us - email" page the link doesn't work!  I have a x250 I purchased in 2015. It has been working great until recently. I usually use the trackpoint and have the touchpad disabled. Recently it just stops working and the only way I can get the mouse to function again is by using an external standard mouse. When I go to mouse settings it doesn't even recognize that I have a touchpad/trackpoint, even after installing updated ULTRANAV drivers. This also extends to the keyboard, some days the keyboard will not work at all. The only thing I can do is restart 100 times and cross my fingers it works one time. I've tried moving the mouse at the login screen, pressing firmly on the touchpad, etc. Nothing works aside from the off chance it cooperates after restarting. So, I have updated drivers numerous times for windows 10 and yet my trackpoint/touchpad still seem to rarely work. I am out of a warranty on this so I'm not sure what to do. My boyfriend is suggesting a factory reset, does anyone think that will work or have any other ideas? Thanks.

I am trying to find a way that the touch pad and trackpoint will disable when I connect an external mouse.  Other computers I've used have a setting for this, but I can not find one the Carbon X1. I don't want to disable them permanently (or at least not both of them) for those few times I'm not using an external mouse. My preference would be to disable one permanently, and the other only when an external mouse is present. Thanks

Answer:Disable touchpad and trackpoint with external mouse on Carbon X1

Hi, mkmchughIf there is such an option available, it would be with the mouse settings. Do you see anything related to disabling them with a USB mouse connected when you go to Mouse under Control panel and go to I believe is the Thinkpad tab?

I have a problem that is very inconvenient with a T470 that I just purchased. I like to use an external keyboard and mouse when at home or in the office.  I've been doing this for at least 3 previous models of Thinkpad.  I hookup wither a Logitech Unifying technology mouse/keyboard or a bluetooth mouse/keyboard. In the past all this does is allow for a second mouse and keyboard and the ones built into the laptop remain active. With this new T470, the Trackpoint stops working on the laptop (the keyboard keeps working) when I have an external mouse active. This is very inconvenient because I sometimes want to use my laptop elsewhere in the office or home and if I don't remember to turn off the external mouse, I have to walk back to mouse and turn it off. Is there a fix for this?

Question: Trackpoint Issues

Hi, Just recently my trackpoint in my T61 stopped responding after having a little water in my keyboard near the left function and shift keys.  Attempting to fix the problem, I went to the mouse settings to make sure it was enabled, however the Trackpoint section was grayed out and the enabled box was unchecked. I also checked the BIOS settings and both the Trackpoint and touch pad are set to automatic. I have also uninstalled and reinstalled the Ultranav driver and utility. Is there anything else I should do to fix the problem? The amount of water that got into the keyboard did not look like it was much and evaporated pretty quickly, so I am not sure if this is just a coincidence or it is related to the water being in the keyboard.  I also tried tried the Trackpoint with a Ubuntu Live CD, but it did not work in Ubuntu either. Thanks

I was having responsiveness issues with the trackpad for a while, then, i open my laptop one day and it's completely unresponsive, as well has the backlit keyboard not working (the hotkey still pops up that it's "lighting up" the keyboard, but no actual lights) and the trackpoint being completely unresponsive too. I've tried:- Restarting computer- Using Lenovo's various "fixing" softwares- Looking for a keyboard firmware shortcut for enabling/disabling trackpad, (doesn't exist on this computer)- Re installing drivers (Ultranav driver refuses to install manually, "driver installation failed")- Booting on a non microsoft OS (Booted on a linux Mint installation and it still doesn't work)- Booting into BIOS and looking for "enable/disable trackpad option", That option does not exist for me.- Opening up computer and checking the physical connection, All plugged in fine. When i open the device manager in windows there is no entry for the mouse whatsoever. The touch screen and the pen both work fine. I think it all points towards a hardware issue, i can pick up another trackpad on ebay for pretty cheap, but obviously i'd like to make sure that it would actually solve the issues.  The major confusion for me is that why would faulty trackpad hardware stop the backlit keyboard from lighting up? How are the two linked? Any ideas appreciated, Thanks!

Hello, on my ThinkPad Yoga (version 03/2015) with Win10 pro (latest updates installed) the Trackpoint randomly stops to move the cursor. The issue can be present right after booting or occur anytime, even running the device multiple hours without experiencing any problems is not uncommon. However, the three buttons still work properly when pressed. The same holds for the touchpad, an external mouse and any input via touchscreen (finger and pen). So, it is really "just" about the red rubber point itself.Sometimes suspending to RAM solves the issue for a short time. The problem seems to occur slightly more often when running on battery but I am not fully sure about that. Furthermore, only the Trackpoint of the ThinkPad itself is affected, I have not experienced this for the Trackpoint of my external ThinkPad Compact Keyboard .  I have the latest UltraNav drivers from the Lenovo website installed, version 19.0.17.22. Of course, I have taken out the rubber and checked for dust. The only thing left would be to try reproducing the issue using a Linux Live system but this is hard to do due to it occuring randomly. Does anyone have any guesses? Does this sound like a driver issue or something hardware related (some sort of loose contact or the like: Sometimes it seems that movement of the device causes the failure of the TrackPoint)? I feel a little reluctant to have replaced the mainboard on spec but I do not know what else to do. Thanks in advance.

I have a brand new T510, coming from a T61p. Everything is GREAT but ONE thing... Occasionally when I am using the trackpointer (which I do often) the left click button will lose the click that it has, let me try and explain... I click down to grab a window and drag it, start dragging, suddenly without depressing the button at all, it just drops the window, and then the click kicks back on a split second later either grabbing something else or clicking something else giving it the focus. I can replicated it occasionally and opened paint, started drawing a long curvy line without unclicking the button and the line ends up with breaks in it! Has anyone had this issue? It is VERY irritating...

Ever since I bought my second hand R61 Laptop, it has noticeably been different from my first laptop, R60e.Sometimes it refuses to shut down, proclaiming that another user is the reason.Often, either on Startup or after coming out of hibernation/standby mode, the mouse freezes.A frozen mouse always results in having to shut down the computer again, as a Forced Shutdown, asthere appears to be no other way to establish communication with my device. Regularly, once the mouse has frozen, it may take up to 4 startups for it to go back to normal. Anyone experienced this?   Ideas on a fix? Eleyan

I tried to move touchpad, track point and mouse, moreover, typing keyboard, nothing happens. but when I turn it off, into sleepying mode, and turn on. Hi there, I have a weird problem. First, I am running Windows 7 beta (build 7100) on my T60 (type 2007), so that could be the reason, and I assume it's probably software related in any case. But anyway, in case some of you have experience with the problem, here goes. The other day the mouse buttons on my UltraNav, for no apparant reason, stopped functioning. The trackpoint is working fine as is the middle scroll-button and the touchpad. But I can't left or right-click. Both the buttons above and below the touchpad are gone. Pretty weird, as the upper mouse buttons are connected through the keyboard-connector-cable and the touchpad and the buttons below that are connected via a seperate cable. I've checked the settings in the UltraNav tab and they're ok, and I'm using the latest driver (9137), and have tried reinstalling it.No luck. Any ideas - besides reinstalling/downgrading Windows, which I'll probably do anyway if nothing else helps?

Answer:Issue with left click on trackpoint, touchpad and mouse - Lenovo T61

Hello,

A few things to try:

?  Create a new user account, login using that and see if the problem still occurs.  If the problem goes away, then it is due to software running under your user account.
?  Start Windows in Safe Mode and see if the problem still occurs.  If the problem goes away, it was due to an application which runs on startup.
?  Boot the computer from a Linux Live CD/USB and see if the problem still occurs.  If it does, then the problem is not due to the operating system and you are dealing with a hardware issue.

In the case of the latter, the usual fix would be to replace the keyboard.

I want to report several issues with TrackPoint. Basic InfoLaptop: X1 carbon 3rd genModel: 20BT-CTO1WWOS: Windows 10 Pro (upgraded from Win 7 Pro)TouchPad driver: Synaptics ThinkPad UltraNav Driver ver. 19.0.17.2  Issue 1: TrackPoint does not work with MS Office 2016 (except Word).Mid button + TrackPoint cannot scroll horizontally in Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote. Scrolling vertically works well.Horizontal scroll works well with Word 2016, Notepad, Microsft Edge, Firefox, etc.Horizontal scroll works well in Excel 2016 with ThinkPad mouse (model: MORFGOO) with mouse suite. Issue 2: TrackPoint calibrates even in mid button + TrackPoint mode.If you tilt TrackPoint steadily for a few seconds, it calibrates and takes it as new zero position. This is a correct behavior. If you hold mid button and tilt TrackPoint steadily (i.e. scrolling), it should never calibrate. This is another correct behavior which was seen with my previous ThinkPad notepads. However, my X1c TrackPoint calibrates even when mid button is held. After 0.5~1 seconds, the scroll stops. When releasing, the mouse pointer moves automatically. This is annoying. Issue 3: Mouse pointer changes size when mid button is pressed. The same as this post.  I use TrackPoint a lot with Excel and the above issues lower efficiency.I hope there will be new Synaptics driver to resolve the issues. btw, I'm not sure which is the best way to report bugs, because there are tooooooo many Lenovo and ThinkP... My couple week old T400 is having some TrackPoint issues. The cursor doesn't jump, I've checked all my settings, and the touchpad is off. What is does do is when I navigate upwards, sometimes the cursor will slowly move downwards on the screen without me touching it, for at least 2 full seconds. It moves slowly, not quickly, sort of like the Trackpoint not resetting to its neutral position. Does anyone else have issues where the cursor using the trackpoint doesn't completely stop moving? Even sometimes when trying to navigate to click a point on the screen, the cursor will push itself downward, so I end up having to exert even more pressure to get it to move in the opposite direction I want to go. Sorry if this isn't a good explanation of my issue, it's a bit hard to explain. Again, the touchpad is off and the click feature for the TrackPoint is also off. Thanks in advance for any suggestions (hopefully solutions!)!Message Edited by song510 on 06-16-2009 09:40 AM

I had recently done an update using ThinkVantage. It changed the behavior of my trackpoint (pressing the middle now doesnt scroll up and down). It does however put a small round picture and it seems to allow me to scroll on any direction EXCEPT in places where the location has a clickable link. This means that the scroll function of the trackpoing cannot be used in windows start menu, etc. The issue though is that when I try hit Fn+F8, then "manage settings" - it says "unable to connect to synaptics pointing driver..." etc. then it asks me if I "...want to uninstall the driver?" Also, in folder view, hitting the center button now drags the file instead of allowing me to scroll - which is an unexpected (i believe incorrect) behavior Is this supposed to happen? My laptop is the T410s, touchscreen.

I've got my P70 recently, and everything works well except I have 2 issues with the keyboard and trackpoint working together: 1) Holding down Fn keys with left click and drag of the trackpoint does not work: this is incredibly frustrating, for example pan, rotate, and zoom in autodesk inventor are bound to F2-F4 keys with left mouse click 2) There is about a 1-2 second lockout period for the trackpoint left click button after any keyboard button press. For example when trying to edit a bunch of lines in code, typing and moving to a new location does not work, because you have to keep left clicking untill the lockout expires.  Both of these issues make the machine essentially unusable in any professional software, either CAD or software development.  None of these issues show up if I plugin the old usb thinkpad travel keyboard that also has a trackpoint in it, so this must be either a hardware or a driver bug in the P70 itself.  Anybody else expririncing this issue or know a solution to this? Or perhaps I just got some bad hardware?

I just rebuilt a R40 for a friend using an XP Professional SP3 CD.Once I had XP installed and the security updates loaded I installed the Lenovo System Update and got the drivers installed through that method.  It installed the current version of the UltraNav driver V14.0.18.0, but something screwy is going on. Sometimes during boot up the cursor will start hopping horizontally to the right edge of the screen.Trying to "force" it back doesn't work well as it keeps trying to "hop" off the right side of the screen. Also the UltraNav icon does not always show up on the taskbar even though I have it turned on. It does this (but not all of the time) either with or without a USB mouse installed. Just now it was behaving properly and I was using the USB mouse to change settings within the UltraNav control panel. I changed one of the settings and the cursor went into "stupid" mode right away and hopped off the right side of the screen. I now have it set so that the touchpad IS enabled and the trackpoint is DISabled. If I check the box to enable the trackpont the cursor immediately starts to hop off the right side of the screen and can not be controlled. I have to use the keyboard to turn off the trackpoint function and regain cursor control. Have I got bad hardware here or .... driver issues....Again the cursor "hops" off the screen in about 1/2" increments and is not drifting "smoothly" off-screen.... Thanks for any help!Jim

Answer:cursor / mouse hops horizontally across screen to the right - erratic w/ trackpoint enabled

Hi Jim,I suggest downloading and booting from a Live CD of any linux distro, if the curser also hops in linux then it definitely would be hardware issue.I also recommend running lenovo PC Doctor's diagnostic test on the keyboard.Hope it helps.

Sometimes the Trackpad is also sluggish to respond, like it ignores the first touch. The Trackpoint and mouse buttons (the ones above the Touchpad) work for the first 3-5 minutes after boot up and then suddenly stops working and doesn't start again until it's restarted. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling most of the drivers (for various other issues) on the machine but it hasn't helped. Does anyone have a solution to this problem?

Answer:Edge S430 - Touchpad, Trackpoint & Mouse Buttons Not Functioning Correctly

News on this problem: now nothing works except the keyboard. I'm stuck using a usb mouse. The bios config page for keyboard/mouse only shows options for the Fn keys. The laptop also bricked itself briefly and gave an error beep (1, 3, 3, 1) which seems to indicate a problem with the DIMM or system board. What can I do? Will a system restore help or should I just send it back? I need help.

I went here: http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/MIGR-67853.html#mouse to download the drivers for the mouse for Vista 32bit. The problem is, the link will only give me the 64bit downloads. Does anyone know where I can get the right download? Thanks

Answer:T61p Mouse/Trackpoint Vista 32 drivers download link broken

Hi xahrepap, and welcome to the Lenovo Community! That's a bad link on the support site. I reported it through the Lenovo Support & downloads Site Feedback page.  The 32-bit download is here: http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/document.do?lndocid=MIGR-66898  I found it by going to the driver matrix for one of the other systems listed as supported by the 64-bit driver.

I grabbed the 5/2011 drivers for UltraNav from the Lenovo site and it appears that an option 'to disable the integrated pointing devices when an external pointing device is present' does not exist, or at the very least I can't easily find it.  Please please please please tell me I'm simply being dense and this behavior is very easy to enable. Seriously, the 5-year old Dell drivers I had with my old machine did that, and this is driving me BONKERS. Alternatively, if what I'm doing here is feature-requesting, I'd be like 50% there if I could Fn+F8 and have an option to kill both the touchpad and the trackpoint - alas, I can disable 1 or the other BUT NOT BOTH WITH THAT OPTION.  Can I really not disable both? Lenovo W520, Windows 7 Professional 64-bit.

Answer:Option to disable UltraNav (touchpad + trackpoint) when external mouse is connected

I've never seen such a feature with the UltraNav drivers. You could just max out the PalmCheck and then set it to touchpad only.

Hello everyone, I searched a bit both these forums and others but haven't found the solution to this problem I'm experiencing. I recently bought a used T430 and I've been using it for the last couple of days, trying to get used to trackpoint and all. I performed a clean windows install and installed a Win 10 education my university provides. I followed the advice on Lenovo webpage about letting Windows update do its thing first and then run the Lenovo System Update utility to update drivers as necessary. Everything's working nicely other than some issues with the trackpoint buttons (the 3 buttons just below the space bar are called the trackpoint buttons I guess?)  Anyway, the issue is that before I did a fresh install, the middle button when pushed entered the scroll mode which then let me scroll using the trackpoint. Now it still enters the scroll mode but also does a right-click when I let go. This leads to an issue where a right-click is performed at every scroll step(if that makes sense) which leads to wonky scrolling. One other issue is that the right button does nothing at all. I expected the middle button to only have scroll functionality and the right button to simply right-click.  Things I've tried so far: - Manually removed the pointer device and ran Lenovo system update again to update the UltraNav drive, and also disabled auto-driver installation of windows update. The driver version installed by System Update is 19.0.17.115.&nb... Read more

Hi,I have had this issue with another Lenovo laptop, too, but my current laptop is a T60. Sometimes (unpredictably), I may move the Trackpoint into one direction to move the mouse cursor, and as soon as I let go, the mouse cursor moves in the opposite direction for about 2 seconds or so.This is highly annoying and disruptive. Any idea what could cause this? This has happened ever since I bought the laptop (new), so it should not be a matter of "worn out".Is there anything I can do about this? Thanks! Message Edited by semmelbroesel on 01-04-2009 09:36 AM

Answer:Trackpoint issues on T60 - keeps pushing the wrong way after use

semmelbroesel wrote: Is there anything I can do about this? Yes, don't rest your finger on it unless you're actually moving the pointer.  It senses pressure and tries to recalibrate.

Hi,While docked yesterday, I downloaded the latest ThinkVantage Updates  using the System Update Utility for my T61 2009-AD1.  After applying the updates, the system rebooted and my TP stick was very SLOW as I keep it on the fastest settings to reduce hand stress.   When I went into the control panel --> mouse, it tells me: "Unable to connect to the Synaptics Pointing Device Driver"   If you have installed another PS/2 Pointing Device Driver, please uninstall the Synaptics driver by clicking on the Yes button.  You then need to reinstall your pointing device driver for the external device again.  Do you want to uninstall the Synaptics Driver Now? I had an external USB TrackPoint Keyboard connected to the dock and have never had any problems from the UltraNav or the Updates.   Generally, there were two UltraNav tabs in the Mouse Panel, one for the onboard TP and one for the Ultranav USB Keyboard.. Now there's only one "Synaptics" tab which is all hozed up.  I cannot change the sensitivity of the mouse etc.. I've tried to uninstall the Synaptics Drive via Add/Remove Programs - it will not uninstall, it just hangs the Thinkpad to 100% CPU and sits there.  I've tried rolling back the driver in device manager, it refuses to rollback. I've tried reinstalling the older Ultranav driver and it complains that a newer driver is installed, use add/remove programs to remove the newer dri... No idea what happened. I was using the laptop without issue and suddenly the trackpad and trackpoint (and left/right click buttons) all stopped working. Went and grabbed a wired mouse, that works fine, as does the keyboard. Any ideas? I have been through the control panel settings and absolutely nothing has changed. Tried turning it off and on again, and truning the settings for each option off and on and reset to default, and nothing. Please help! This sucker is way to new for this...

I have a new X300 with a clean install of Windows XP (SP3) and all of the latest drivers from the Lenovo website.  Whenever I click any of the three TrackPoint buttons, the TrackPad is not able move the mouse cursor for about 2 seconds.  During this time, I can still move the cursor with the TrackPoint.  I did not experience this behavior with my previous laptop, which was a ThinkPad T42 running Windows XP (SP2).Thanks for any suggestions!

Answer:X300: TrackPad will not move mouse cursor for several seconds after clicking any TrackPoint button

Could anybody running Windows XP on an X300 please at least confirm or deny that they see similar behavior? Thanks!

I'm using the ultranav middle button to scroll (I live for this feature which is why I've been buying thinkpads since time immemorial) However, on the t460, scolling with the middle button/nubbin is painfully slow in Word 2007, and Adobe Acrobat/Reader is a nightmare. In Word its just slow and you have to use a lot of pressure on the nubbin (there appears to be no setting to change this). In Acrobat, it's agonizingly slow (in both Reader and Pro) and will "stick" on if you try to go to fast and just scrolling for multiple seconds after you release the button.  Stragely, the trackpad scrolling works fine in Word, though it is still bad in Acrobat.  In addition, the middle button scrolling will frequently slip and stop scrolling, sending the pointer to the bottom of the page.  Nubbin/middle button scrolling works (oddly) extremely well in Microsoft Edge... Please help! Middle button scrollig with the nubbin is the best feature on these machines.  Using: T460 Windows 10 64-bit with the latest drivers.

Firstly I'll explain the freezing issue (this is now the 3rd time I've typed this, as the first two times my laptop froze before I finished!)I run my laptop with the battery at 100% and plugged in and that's fine; as is running it on battery. The problem arises when my battery is low and I plug it into recharge. Soon after it's running on a/c the screen will go black and only way to shut down is by holding the power button. If I try to restart it too soon, the indicator lights next to the power button will illuminate, but the screen will stay black. Usually after 5-10 minutes it'll boot to the IBM screen & boot the rest of the way, but not too long into normal operation it'll go black again (sometimes hitting ctrl/alt/del will bring the screen back but it would be very distorted (pixilized) and would go black again and reboot. What could be causing these problems while recharging the battery? I've tried this with a couple different batteries (both OEM IBM) and it does it with both.  Secondly, both left and right "mouse" buttons are now nonfunctional (though the middle button of the track points works.) I have the latest version of Ultranav Wizard and all the buttons are enabled. The touch pad and trackpoint ball work fine, just the 2 left and 2 right buttons do not. What could be the culprit for this issue? Luckily I have a usb mouse so that's what I'm using for the time being.Message Edited by GoalieFergy53 on 02-14-2009 02:30 PM

Okay so i've been struggling to find a fix to this and Lenovo support hasn't really been too useful either. Basically the trackpoint is having issues working even with the newest bios, etc. and synaptics driver. It also is having problems with the old driver too?? Could it be in conflict with the new bios update? Lenovo Support gave me the advice to reformatte as it is a "software" issue and to repeat the same above process. Yet the problem still persists.  What steps should I try next?  Lenovo support seems reluctant to give me a hardware exchange Thanks in advance, any advice is open to testing! I'm just fed up with new drivers having bugs like this.

I have an X60 Tablet PC. Trackpoint scrolling works fine in programs running directly on the computer. When I log in through Windows RDP and run a program on one of our servers, the trackpoint scrolling feature does not work. I am able to use the scrolling feature on an old Fujitsu tablet PC on server based programs. I have downloaded the latest driver and checked all the settings but to no avail. Any ideas? Thanks,John

For a while now, I have wondered why the virtual buttons shown in the utility http://imgur.com/Lljj1Z7 don?t function as advertised. According to the utility, I should get a left click if I depress the left are of the touchpad, a middle click if I push on the bumps, and a right click if I depress the right half of the touchpad. In my experience, I get a left click regardless of where I depress the touchpad. The only exception is when I depress the bumps in the top middle of the touchpad?when I do that, the mouse enters some weird scrolly mode where I scan scroll stuff with the trackpoint. It definitely does not emit a middle click. But, more importantly, I cannot figure out how to get trackpoint mode to emit a right click. How do I get trackpoint classic mode to work? Is there a way to downgrade the drive or use a non-lenovo branded driver to get it to behave properly? Right now, I?m relying on an external mouse just to middle click and right click. I?m using Windows 10 b10240 and, as in the post?s title, my trackpoint driver is the latest listed on Lenovo?s support site (which I think WU actually installed for me)?19.0.12.61. Why don?t the virtual buttons work and are there any other workarounds that don?t involve using a mode other than Trackpoint Classic?

Answer:T540p unable to right-click with virtual buttons in trackpoint or trackpoint classic mode 19.0.12.61

Seems to have partially fixed iteslf since Windows Update (WU) installed 19.0.16. Now the right half of my touchpad performs a right click when in TrackPad Classic mode. However, the supposed ?middle click? zone still does a weird scrolly mode instead of sending a middle click. Guess I still have to use an external mouse to accomplish a middle click when using Classic TrackPoint mode, but at least the situtaion is better than when I couldn?t right click with this mode.

Hi, I got an S230u Twist last autumn and have been really happy with it. At the time, I ordered a set of replacement rubber TrackPoint caps. When I replaced the original cap the other day, I realised that the replacement ones are about 0.5mm shorter than the original one, with the result that the H and G keys get caught on the edge of the cap; you have to hit them quite hard to get them to work. I compared all the new caps from the packet against the original one, and sure enough; they're all a little too short. They fit, but it's annoying to have to go back and make sure all my ""G"s and "H"s typed correctly.  Has anyone else had the same problem? Lenovo, could this just have been a bad batch, and if so can I return the unused ones for a replacement set that is the correct height?

Answer:S230u - replacement trackpoint TrackPoint caps are too short

If you bought them from Lenovo I'd just try and return them. If not dispute on eBay/PayPal/Credit Card. But never use poor quality TrackPoint Caps. Remember if a computer is running efficiently so is the person behind it generally.

Hello Folks,After having received a new Yoga 3 14 yesterday I noticed that there were a lot of screen ghosting issues, especially when using high contrast apps or leaving apps on the screen. Even when the system is booting the afterimages are there and persistent, and continue to build on top of each other. I have already rolled back and updated the graphics card, updated the BIOs, installed the firmware update to fix ghost touches etc. but the afterimages of chrome and the taskbar and explorer windows remain, only leaving the computer off for several hours solves but I don't believe that to be a pragmatic solution. If anyone else has had this issue or has fixed it please comment!

Hi, I wonder whether there is a way to enable press-to-click for the trackpoint on the new x1? In the respective settings there is no such options and I searched everywhere, somebody found it? Next question: In order to avoid the annoying noise of the clickpad everytime you press it, I would like to use the tap function of the touchpad while using the trackpoint to move the cursor. Unfortunately, tapping on the pad seems to be disabled during use of trackpoint - any smart hack to get this workig? Thanks to all,J

I currently have an X60 and have never had a single issue.  However I was recently infected with a Trojan, and after removing it with a reputable program, the keyboard and trackpoint mouse have stopped working. When I get the windows login screen, the trackpoint works fine, but the second I press any key, both keyboard and mouse become totally frozen. I can still use a USB keyboard and mouse with no issue at, but that is the only way. Any ideas as to how I can get them back up and working? Clearly, they (at least the mouse) are not totally fried b/c it works fine before I touch the keyboard. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, JT

SOLVED!  I simply had to update the drivers in the device manager.  For some reason they were corrupt and it could not load them.  Simple fix, just took too much thought and digging to find solution.

This is really starting to annoy the hell out of me. I just picked up a Microsoft Bluetooth mouse, the Notebook 5000 mouse to be exact for my home entertainment center.

I have my PC ran to a monitor and a 55 inch Samsung LED LCD TV for watching movies etc. The problem is, the HDMI cord is run threw the wall so the PC is in another room so I cant use the normal mouse on the PC. I bought a bluetooth mouse due to the increased range but I'm having nothing but issues.

I have the Microsoft Bluetooth dongle btw, didn't come with the mouse, the mouse actually comes with no dongle.

Anyway it connects fine but if I stop using it for like an hour or whatever it disconnects and nothing I do will reconnect it unless I take my other mouse, go into bluetooth devices, delete it and readd it all over again.

WHY THE HELL does it keep doing this lol?

It's very annoying, I sit down to watch a movie and discover I cant start it without first going into the other room and readding my mouse.

I'm well within range and I've tried moving the bluetooth mouse to the same room as the PC to use it with the PC and it still does the same thing.

Help?

It's your dongle. I have the same mouse and it works absolutely fine. I'll bet you have the USB option set to power the dongle down when unused. How's the radio in the mouse supposed to wake up a sleeping dongle?

I need help comparing the Yoga 2 Pro and Yoga 13, but I don't mean to compare them by their specs.  Yes, I know Yoga 2 Pro has a better processor, is thinner and lighter, and has a QHD screen, but that's not what I'm looking for. What I want to discuss is not what you find in a typical review.  I want to discuss the issues that people seem to be having with these laptops.   I want to see what issues both of these laptops share and what they don't.  I currently have a Yoga 13, and I'm debating whether I should return it and get a Yoga 2 Pro, but if it has more issues than my Yoga 13, then I don't want to do it. Issues that I know of so far: Yoga 2 Pro  (I've never had this laptop so I'm only going off of what people have been complaining about) Yellow Color Issue (looks musturd / greenish)  (But is fixable, to a point)Wifi Dropping Flickering screen?(Are there more?  I don't know much about the Yoga 2 Pro) Yoga 13 (I've owned this for about 10 days) Weak Wifi  (An issue I have only sometimes)Loud Fan Noise / Fan always on  (Manageable with Notebook Fan Control program)Problems with streaming videos in anything other than laptop mode (My issue)Plugged in but not charging (another issue I ran into)Hinge becoming loose (Hasn't happened to me yet)(What else is there?)  So that's all I know of so far.  What other issues have people run into with these two laptops.  Which laptop's iss...
