Thinkpad Yoga Digitizer Pen Wacom Problem - doesn't work in Tablet Modus

Question: Thinkpad Yoga Digitizer Pen Wacom Problem - doesn't work in Tablet Modus

Hello. I got my Thinkpad Yoga. My problem is, that the Digitizer Pen function is now ok (after a lot of work with drivers,...), but it doesn't function in the Tablet Modus? The actually drivers are installed. The pen function is ok. But only in the "Notebook-Modus". I tested it.. when I am turning the Notebook in the Tablet-Modus AND THE KEYBOARD IS INSIDE, the pen function doesn't work and I have to reboot. When I reboot in the Tablet Modus it also doesn't work. CAN SOMEONE HELP ME PLEASE????????? Thank you soooo much. David

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

I just got a brand new Lenovo Thinkpad Yoga 14 and the touchscreen was working great, but once I installed my Wacom Cintiq 12wx onto the laptop, the touchscreen completely stopped working. It seems like the laptop is confused on whether to use the wacom or the laptop as a tablet and I really want them to both work simultaneously. Has anyone else been able to get their laptop to work with a tablet? Any help would be greatly appreciated since this is the second thinkpad yoga 14 ive gotten since the first one did the same thing and I first assumed it was a computer issue.

Answer:Getting Thinkpad Yoga 14 to work with Wacom Tablet...

Hi banana74
Welcome to the forums.

Can you please post the full model number of your TP Yoga 14? are you using Windows 10 (64bits)?

I have tried my TP Y 14 with a Wacom Bamboo and I have no problem using both, the touchscreen with the Thinkpad Pen Pro and the Wacom Bamboo with his own pen.
Maybe what we can do first is try to update the Wacom drivers of your Thinkpad Yoga from the Lenovo support site of you model.

Regards.

Hi, Could somebody please point me to the place where it list the digitizer in the Thinkpad Yoga as a Wocom? I see it all over in review sites, but I can't find it in the description or the product specifications. I'm interested in this model:20CD00AVUS, which I know includes a digitizer, but I want to make sure its definitely Wacom... they all just say "digitizer". So I guess what I am trying to figure out is:1. Are ALL digitizers installed in Thinkpad Yoga's the same, or do they vary in brand/quality?2. How can I find out if its a Wacom? Thanks for the help.

Answer:Thinkpad Yoga - Wacom Digitizer?

First off the digitizer technology consists of two parts the digitizer enabled screen and the digitizer pen. Second i'd say all the TPYs have the same digitizer Technology (both screen and pen) licensed from Wacom. So the pen itself is probably prdouced by Lenovo or a third party. --- By the way other products like the Surface Pro, Vaio Duo or Galaxy Note have the same technology built in and you can use there respective digitizer pens for the TPY as well.

Hey guys!I am looking forward to buy this beauty here: http://shopap.lenovo.com/au/en/laptops/thinkpad/yoga-series/yoga-14/ it's the second one with the 256 GB ssd and i7.I already asked this question to the Facebook Page of Lenovo Australia and New Zealand, but the guys there didn't get it.Does this particular laptop come with a wacom digitizer? So could I use, let's say, a wacom intuos pen to draw, make sketches and write notes?I asked the guys on Facebook if the laptop comes with an active digitizer layer, but all they answered was "it doesn't come with an active pen". They didn't answer on my second question whether or not if it comes at least with a wacom digitizer. That's why I signed up here Thanks for your help!

Answer:ThinkPad Yoga 14: wacom digitizer?

Maybe i should add that I already looked up the details on the sales page and all it says is: "Active pen: none"

Hello,I already tried the search function but couldn't find a solution. When I flip the screen 180° arround (tabletmodus) or just the V-Modus, it doesnt ask me anymore if i want to change. It should ask because in settings it is on "ask before ...". I need to do it manual. But the biggest problem is that the screen is not turning anymore. The button on theside is not working as well as the settings in the Lenovo settings, in Lenovo settings it is always on Screen turning LOCKED, when I set it to UNLOCK, it will jump back to LOCKED by itself. (made a screenshot from this setting) I have no idea what to do please help. Thanks

Hello! I have a ThinkPad X60 Tablet. When I bought it, it had Windows XP installed. Now I have Windows 7 on it. The eraser of my pen didn't work in any of them. Is there any need for some special drivers, instead of the drivers I get by installing Windows, and also by Windows and ThinkPad updates? Thank you!

Hello all, apologies if this is a duplicate issue, but my searches did not turn anything up. I just received my new TPY a couple of days ago and have been happily installing software. Today was the first time I really tried using my digitizer pen, as I finally had time to open Photoshop and Illustrator. In doing so, however, I discovered pen calibration is completely messed up for the top edge of the screen. I tested it outside of the Adobe programs and the same problems occur there. I have already gone in and tried recalibrating my pen more than once using the calibration tools in the Control Panel. Is this a known issue that I just need a driver update for or is this a hardware issue? Any help is appreciated. Thanks,Erika

I was wondering if the Yoga 3 touch screen has a wacom digitizer so I could use a wacom smart pen for example.  I would like to use my Yoga 3 to draw things but somehow no graphic pen is officially convertible with it. The WACOM Smart Pen is convertible with any product with WACOM digitizer so I want to know if my laptop has this. If not, does anybody have another suggestion which pen I could use for drawing?

Hello, Maybe somebody could help me. I just got W700 2757-CTO with Vista x64 SP1 Business, however when I got it I think my Wacom Digitizer worked, but after some time it stopped and I can't get it to work. I tried System Restore, I even performed a Clean Vista Install and even my system is flying now and everything is working much better than before, I still can't get Wacom Digitizer to work  Driver I'm using: 02 Sep 2008 v5.0.8-8 I also tried driver I found online that is 5.1.1-1, but it was the same result. Did anybody face that kind of issue and found a solution? Does anybody have other Vista x64 drivers that I could try? Your help will be highly appreciated.

Hello, I just got a yoga 14, and I see that there is a wacom device in the device manager, as well as a wacom pen configuration application installed. The computer didn't come with a stylus, so I've been trying to find one that will be compatible with this wacom device. So far I've tried lenovo part number 4X80F22110, as well as a wacom bamboo smart stylus, but neither have worked.  Can  someone clarify what exact type of stylus is required to work with the device in my laptop? Lenovo support wasn't very helpful, nor was wacom's.

Answer:Yoga 14 (20dm008uus) wacom digitizer stylus?

The pen with part number 4X80F22110 as well as the Wacom Bamboo Smart pen are pens that use the Wacom EMR technology. The ThinkPad Yoga 14 only supports pens that use the Wacom Active ES technology (optionally, as there are some configurations where pens other than those for capacitive touch screens that imitate your finger don't work at all)As your ThinkPad Yoga 14 seems to support the Wacom Active ES-based pens, you should try the ThinkPad Pen Pro (4X80H34887)

Did the earlier models of the thinkpad yogas sold on lenovo.com all come with the wacom digitizers? I've read that all models of the thinkpad yoga sold on lenovo.com came with the wacom digitizer. I ordered a thinkpad yoga off lenovo.com with the 1366x768 screen on Feb 23 and I haven't received it yet. I could've swore that when I chose the screen resolution their was none that specified it came with the pen and wacom digitizer, but now I'm second guessing myself. Now I see that it only comes with the 1920x1080 FHD screen and it that option specifies it has the pen and wacom digitizer. So I'm just wondering if the earlier models from lenovo.com came with the wacom digitizer and they just recently switched it to only available on the 1920x1080. The part # for my computer is listed as 20CDCT01WW.

It is a Lenovo Yoga S1 12.5 inch. The touch screen works fine in laptop mode, but as soon as I push the screen back to about 110 degrees, it turns into tablet mode and the touchscreen is disabled I need to be able to use the touchscreen while it's in tablet mode.

Answer:Thinkpad Yoga S1 - touch input does not work in tablet mode

Hi dudeguy Can you post your full Thinkpad Model number and the Windows version you are using? I don't have an S1, but touch screen is always working, no matter if it is on tablet mode, tent mode , or laptop mode..maybe the touchscreen should only be disabled when the lid is closed or the screen is turned off. It is very strange that it get disabled when you turn it to tablet mode. Just some "trial and error".- Check Windows Update and try to put any drivers up-to-date.- Try updating the drivers with Lenovo System Update- If you are using Windows 10 try install Lenovo Settings and Lenovo Companion from the Windows Store. I was trying to find something in Windows settings "Pen and Touch" that can disabled the Touch-screen in that way, but I haven't found anything. Regards

Twice now, my Lenovo ThinkPad Tablet Digitizer Pen - stylus has dropped out of the tablet only to be found later on my family room floor.   Given the expensive price tag on these pens (Office Depot has for $65), it would be nice if these pens could be locked into place so that they don't come up "missing" for whatever reason.   Has anyone else found a way to keep better track of their pen, short of not putting it in the holder on the tablet? Joe

Have you tried to tether it to your tablet?  There is a hole in the stylus clip and the tablet that you can use.  Beyond that, you can send it in to have the stylus catch replaced and see if that helps.

I've seen several threads about this issue, but none that address my specific concern.

I have a ThinkPad Yoga 14. It did not come with a digitizer pen included. However, I suspect that the screen does in fact have a Wacom digitizer layer. My rationale is this:

My computer came pre-installed with the Wacom Pen Calibration Software
Device Manager reports the following HID devices:-- HID-compliant digitizer-- HID-compliant pen-- Wacom Device
When I run the Wacom Hardware Check (available here), it reports "You have hardware compatible with the Wacom FEEL driver."
All of the 20DM008 models listed at http://psref.lenovo.com/Product/179 support the active pen (I cannot find the 20DM008U++ model there for some reason)

However, the computer will not recognize the ThinkPad digitizer pen I purchased.

So, I suppose I have three questions:

Am I just misinterpreting what I am seeing in the Device Manager?
Is it possible that Lenovo installs the Wacom screen on all it's tablets, but disables them somehow on models not marketed as digitizer ready?
If so, is there any way for me to enable my screen to allow for digitizer use?

Good day.

Looking at the models that support pen at the PSREF link you included, please notice that it specifies "Active Pen". This is not the same as the ThinkPad Digitizer Pen. That's why it won't work for you.

You need the newer, AAAA battery-powered Active Pen. Apologies, but I don't have a link for it.

Hi, After working out that my laptop (Thinkpad Yoga S1) most likely has a digitizer, I purchased a pen for it. However, since I wasn't 100% sure, I bought a cheaper, off-brand pen that people said was compatible, the listing for which can be found here. I received it today, but my computer seems unresponsive when I try to use it. When I went to Wacom Pen or Pen and Touch Input, the pen calibration screens were either blank (Wacom) or didn't load (Input). Is there something else I have to do to make my pen work? Did I purchase the wrong pen? If it helps, the pen slot on my computer is still plugged; I was going to unplug it, but to do so I'd have to remove the back paneling, and one of the screws keeping it in place has been stripped. The thread confirming that my laptop has a digitizer is here. Thanks!

Answer:Thinkpad Yoga digitizer pen

Hi

Please notice that this is my personal opinon and it does not mean I'm 100% right, this is based on my experience.

I think that the "Digitizer PEN for Lenovo ThinkPad X60 X61 X200 X201" is for older Thinkpad models. I have a Thinkpad Yoga 14 (Similar to S1) (20DM008UUS) and it has a digitizer screen, but it requires an "active pen" (with batteries inside) to be able to work with the digitizer.

I have the Thinkpad Pen Pro and it works fine with my model. I still think you have a digitizer on your laptop but I think it is the wrong pen.

Here it also some more info about the pen that Amy wrote.

Hey, does anybody know which pens are compatible with the Yoga 460?For me the pen tip feels a bit too hard on the display. I've had the Note 10.1 2014 with a better Pen and bought a Lenovo stylus. But they were passive digitizers...

Answer:ThinkPad Yoga 260 & 460 Digitizer

Hi, welcome to the forums.

I can only talk from my experience.  I have ThinkPad Pen Pro 4X80H34887 on my Thinkpad Yoga 14 ( 20DM008UUS ).
http://shop.lenovo.com/us/en/itemdetails/4X80H34887/460/41E9A3C3FB5A45A9AC47C56812E4188C

For what I know (I may be wrong) the Pen Pro uses Wacom technology, it has a battery inside. I found it very nice with a nice size... but it depends on personal taste.

Can you post the full model number of the computer you want to check it will work with the pen?
I know that the Thinkpad Pen Pro web page may not say much. So, what I saw it was recomended on this forum was:
1) Check your computer model against the PSRef Books: http://psref.lenovo.com/
See if your model is listed with "Active Pen" support.

2) There is more information about the Thinkpad Pen Pro here: https://support.lenovo.com/us/en/documents/acc100178

There is also the Thinkpad Yoga Pen , but I don't have experience with that one, some amazon review says it does not have batteries and it focus for replacement for Thinkpad Yoga that came with pen... but I don't know.

Regards.

Hello.I recently bought an used X200 Tablet from eBay which, according to the vendor, was recently repaired and revised by Lenovo themselves. As I already own a Wacom Cintiq 21UX, I wanted to try its stylus on the X200, since according to some sources, it should work with the right driver. (Which I have installed, I believe)The problem is, although the stylus is recognized, the cursor doesn't follow it at the same speed that the stylus is moved. I don't really know how to put this into clear words, so here's an example and a visual demonstration: When the stylus is at the top centre, the cursor is just beneath it's tip. However, when I move the stylus to the top left corner of the screen, the cursor lags behind and stops about 2cm before reaching the border. The same thing happens with pretty much any other direction. Image: Also, I have to touch the screen with the Wacom stylus for it to recognize it, even with the ?Float*? function activated. Is this a known issue? Thank you in advance for any help or answers you can give me.*I don't know the exact English term for that function as I'm running a German version of Windows Vista Business.

I have a Thinkpad Yoga 14 (20DM008UUS) and I don't have that problems. Can you please post your full model number?
Maybe uninstalling the mouse driver (according to which brand your model has) and installing it again can help.

I just purchased a refurbished Thinkpad S1 Yoga from outlet. The description mentioned nothing about coming with a pen or having digitizer compatibility although these descriptions are generally not very detailed to begin with. I was reading that some of these machines (FHD) with the same specs as mine don't come with a pen nor  compatibility and am not sure if those two features can exist separately.  I think the newer versions all have both. Is there a way to tell if mine's compatible or not? I don't think it will come with a pen and I don't want to open the box before finding out. Part number if it helps: MP053KKL-20CDCTR1WW Thanks.

Answer:Does my Thinkpad Yoga have digitizer or compatibility?

Hi jaliu, your model has got both.Touch and pen.BestAndreas

So like I do from time to time, I'm configuring a Thinkpad Yoga to mull over (window shopping until I can afford one) when I notice that there's no mention of a digitizer or pen functionality any more, anywhere. Did something happen to it? Pen support was a deal breaker for me.

Answer:Thinkpad Yoga - Digitizer not available anymore??

I noticed this missing info too when ordering my custom ThinkPad Yoga, so at checkout I added pen from the optional accessories. When my laptop arrived, it came with two pens! One inside the laptop package, and another in separate box. I suppose it might be their website issue or country-specific supply issue.

Hi everyone. I am looking to buy a laptop for university (studying engineering). I would like something that is durable, and powerful. Thats why I am looking into getting the Thinkpad Yoga. I love the convertable and compact feel, as well as the SSD that I will be getting with it.  However, another reason why I wanted to get it is because of the 'Active Digitzer'. I didn't even know what this was called since a week ago, and I still cant seem to understand what this feature will allow me to do? How does the Digitzer benefit me? Especially when I compare it to the Yoga Pro 2 (even tough that also has a touchscreen). Am I unable to draw on a YP2? Would I not be able to draw on the screen? I want to use it mainly when I use Adobe Illutrator. Is the Digitzer option worth the extra money I have to pay? With that feature added on, I will be paying almost $2000 :s

Answer:Thinkpad Yoga: Is it worth it and Digitizer?

Hi there: I have been using X230T, a predessor of Thinkpad Yoga. X230T also comes with a digitizer. I bought X23)T also for a reason: I can take note during class. I am not an engineer but a finance student. 1. You might want an Active Digitizer because it allows you to write on-screen. Use Microsoft One Note. Your computer can replace your pen and paper.2. You can still draw on YP2. But what do you feel when you use your finger, say your pointer, as a pen  YP2 does not have a digitizer pen. 3. The pen I believe is included. You do not have to pay extra unless you want to have a spare one. 4. I think Lenovo Thinkpad has lost its quality legacy from IBM. I do not like the new layout of the keyboard (I like the trackpoint but the moust click now share with the trackpad. It is just ridiculous. You cannot have an accurate click with it (for me))5. Just look at the Microsoft new Surface pro 3. You might like it! If the next time I upgrade my computer, I would by a Surface pro instead of the Thinkpad.   Cheers

I learned that the digitizer with Helix cannot be used as an eraser, does the ThinkPad Yoga digitizer have the same problem? Thanks

Solved!

Answer:ThinkPad Yoga Digitizer Question

the digitiser pen on Helix, TPT2 and Yoga all lack the traditional eraser function of the traditional ThinkPad X series tablet. There is a side button on the digitiser pen, which you can use for eraser function. Alternatively, get the X series tablet digitiser pen which has an eraser function, they work with the ThinkPad Yoga (and is what i am using now).

Hello, I just received my new shiny TPY (again). The first time I got it, the digitizer wasn't working. After a bit of research I realized that it probably was a hardware issue (No digitizer, pen or wacom device in device-manager). So I send it back. The mainboard got replaced and today I have my machine back. It was all working fine including the digitizer. But from one minute to the other it stopped working and I can't find any wacom or digitizer devices in the device-manager.Now my first thought was, that the Windows updates messed something up, so I've done a rollback but it's still not working.Am I doing something wrong or is it a hardware issue again? Thanks for advance.Robinhuett

Answer:ThinkPad Yoga - Digitizer is not working

Hello. It isn't a Hardware Problem. It seems to be a software problem after Windows 8.1 Update. I have the same problem :-( When I start the PC it works perfect, until I used it as Tablet. After that the Digitizer Pen didn't work. So I reinstalled all drivers. After that the pen worked.. so I tested it again as Tablet, after that. the Digitizer Pen didn't work. Now I installed all drivers again but the Pen didn't worked. It is a big problem at Lenovo, because Lenovo has problems with the pen software a long time. It is soooo sad because I love the Thinkpad Yoga but with this Problem the price isn't acceptable. So I am going to send it back and wait for the Surface Pro 3. Because Thinkpad stands for the perfect Business Notebook and now... Lenovo has with the digitizer pen more problems than all others. And this is very sad :-(

Hello everyone, I'm in the market for a Lenovo Thinkpad Yoga for work. It needs to have the digitizer pen/panel. How do I determine if the model has a digitizer pen/panel? Is a 1080p panel enough to determine it? I'm looking at stores online and they don't really list this information. Thanks in advance

Ok so i just recieved a thinkpad yoga S1. The one i got was the one without the digitizer pen automatically installed into the computer's side. The pen came separately and its the exact same one as the one used with the version that comes with the pen. I dont know the product code or even what its called. Which driver do i install and how can i register the product? Also, since the version i have has like a little black piece where the digitizer normally goes is there any way i can take it out and be able to accomodate the pen that came seperatly?

Answer:Lenovo Thinkpad Yoga S1 digitizer help

I think there is only two options it either comes with the pen or it doesn't. The one that doesn't have the pen built into it doesn't support the pen because of the panel used. That is waht I remember when I was researching into this unit.

Hello,I just bought a Lenovo Thinkpad Yoga 12 (20DL000SIX) that does not come with the pen apparently (I still have to receive it physically), but *does* have the full HD capacitive screen multitouch (1920 x 1080).I also bought separately the Thinkpad Yoga digitizer pen (4X80F22110).I spent a lot of time to understand if the two are compatible (i.e. the wacom digitizer is installed or not on the laptop), and on Lenovo website, following Products -> Accessories&Software -> Search For Compatible Accessories For Your System, it looks that indeed they are:http://shop.lenovo.com/SEUILibrary/controller/e/web/LenovoPortal/en_US/catalog.workflow:find-compati... I see that there are multiple posts on similar issue, confirming that the communication of Lenovo about pens and digitizer is really inadequate.I read in many places that the thinkpad yoga's that don't come with the pen do *not* have the digitizer. I also read that the full HD screens does have te digitizer. So, I'm getting confused...: my yoga does have the full HD but does not come with the pen included! There is no clear information anywhere and also the Lenovo  support (I called on the phone many times) is not satisfactive on this.Does anyone have the same model, or have a more clear idea on this topic? Thanks!Giulia

Answer:Thinkpad Yoga 12: digitizer? (20DL000SIX)

Hi giulsi

I also agree with you on this subject. There is much confusion with the "pens" on Thinkpad Yogas.
I think that Lenovo should specify better on the webpage (shop) which Thinkpad Yoga came with Active Pen, and on the Pen pages (also on the shop page) they should specify which models apply for it, and where to search if you computer has support for it.

How to know if you Thinkpad Yoga is Pen Compatible?
For the moment one thing that works to know if your Thinkpad is "Pen Compatible" is to search on the PSRef books.
http://psref.lenovo.com/
or
http://psref.lenovo.com/Book

I searched your model:
http://psref.lenovo.com/Detail/ThinkPad_Yoga_12?M=20DL000S%2B%2B
It says it has:

Pen
Digitizer pen

So that's good......
There are other models that says "Active Pen".. not sure if that means it only works with the "Thinkpad Pen Pro" or not.

How to resolve the question of which pen is good for you?
Thinkpad Yoga Pen suppor page:
https://support.lenovo.com/ec/es/documents/pd030464
It says "The ThinkPad Yoga Pen supports the ThinkPad Yoga." So it may also work.

I'm guessing that it will work, but please post back when you get your pen to see if it works with your model.
Regards

Hi! I would like to buy this Thinkpad yoga model and I would like to know if the screen is digitizer enabled and it comes with the pen. What is the storage capacity on this model?I asked various vendors from this site and everybody tells me something different... http://www.shopbot.ca/pp-lenovo-thinkpad-s1-yoga-i5-4300u-20c0001hus-lenovo-price-483964.html

So the majority of the vendors told me that the storage is 180Gb SSD and that the digitizer pen is not included. Anyway the screen is an fhd1920 x 1080, so my question is... If I buy a pen somewhere willl I be able to use the digitizer stylus anyway?Thank you

They are only available on Lenovo's website as far as I've seen. I tried looking other places like Amazon, too, but haven't seen the digitizer model. I ended up buying one directly.

I have a problem where the digitizer pen interittently stops working on the yoga S1 - win8.1 x64 with all updates applied.I can re-create the issue by folding the screen from normal mode to  tablet mode, then normal mode , then tablet mode. At this point, the pen susually stops working. I can get it to come back to life sometimes if i wait a minute, or if i go to power settings and apply / un apply something or by restart. It sounds like a driver issue to me - and possiby power management drivers - triggered by swithcing to tablet mode.I have tried max perfromance, min power savings etc to stop the screen driver being starved of power, have disabled sleep and hibernation. Done multiple driver re-installs, but no difference. Sometimes restarting the drivers relating to the pen and touch screen bring it back to life. But it should not die in the first place. Anyone else have this or do i have a hardware issue?

Hi all, i am looking for a good and reasonable alternative to the included stylus of the Thinkpad Yoga (which employs a wacom digitzer). First of all i thought it might be helpful for others to include a comparison picture in terms of size: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/9963379/tp-stylus.jpg From top to bottom these are the pens of: * Thinkpad Yoga S1  * Thinkpad Android Slate Tablet (v1, 10", n-trig digitizer if I remember correctly) * Wacom Intuos 3 * Good old pencil (for actual paper... ) As you can see, the Yoga's stylus is really really tiny, it's around 11 cm long and only 6 mm thick. Also the key for the right mouse key is in a really inconvenient spot as i keep on pressing it over and over. The Thinkpad Slate Tablet's Pen is actually quite ok regarding the feel / thickness, it's around 10mm (as is the pencil). The wacom is around 15 mm thick on the thickest spot  and has without any doubts the best feeling of all the pens. However it does not work on the wacom digitizers of tablet PCs.  So far the only clues I found on this forum is a post from 2010:http://forums.lenovo.com/t5/X-Series-Tablet-ThinkPad-Laptops/Wacom-digitizers-and-usable-pens/m-p/23... This post is pointing towards Wacom pens that I can't find anymore... (articles starting with UG...) The only pen I found on the wacom page so far was the PL-900 "for tablet PCs"http://eu.shop.wacom.eu/accessories/pl-series/pl-900-pen?c... Read more

Answer:Pressure sensitive pen / stylus for wacom digitizers (Yoga, X-series tablet X200, X220, X61, X41...)

There's plenty of useful info here for pens: http://forum.tabletpcreview.com/microsoft/55416-tabletpc-compatible-wacom-pens-work-surface-pro.html As for a cheap pen - eBay is your best friend here. There are plenty of cheap full size Wacom pens to be found such as these ones: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Digitizer-Stylus-Pen-For-IBM-LENOVO-ThinkPad-X60-X61-X200-X201-W700-Table... Try finding Fujitsu Wacom pens as well - they have 2 buttons and an eraser.

Hi I hope someone can help me. I have had my S1 for about 10 months now and i have had no issues with the pen and using it. I used the pen last weekend in lectures, taking notes with no issues or problems and have gone to use it today, as part of my assignment, and it just isn't working at all. It doesn't matter if its in laptop, tent or tablet mode, i get no resposne from the pen at all. I have had a look in the device manager and have no issue notifications, but likewise, i can't locate anythingthat i think looks like the digital pen drivers (nothing Wacom in there). I have searched around the forums and o-line and can't seem to find anything that might help me. Have even searched, without finding, how to unistall and re-install the Wacom drivers. If anyone has any suggestions on how to diagnose and resolve this problem i would be really happy to receive them. many thanks for your help Chris

Hi, Today (or last night, not sure) three columns of my TPY 460's digitizer seem to have stopped working. Two of them are right next to each other, the third one a little further to the right. (I'm guessing the number of columns by the distance of the small dots that you can see on the display when you look at it from an angle). When I tap the pen onto the two defective columns, nothing happens, when I drag it across, it stops on one side and then jumps to the other. It's similar for the single column, but there isn't a complete stop and a jump, more of a non-linearity, the cursor moves slower, then faster, then slower again. For finger touch, the problem is similar. Is this a common problem that can be fixed by properly plugging  some cables or should I return the computer? (It's a demopool device, so I have no warranty, but I can return it within two weeks without a reason).

Hey, just in case someone is interested in pressure sensitivity for the Thinkpad Yoga.Try this driver from wacom ;-)http://www.wacom.eu/index4.asp?pid=9278&lang=de This morning I had a phone call with the Lenovo Support Europe regarding the subject, but all they were able was to tell me to send my brand new Yoga in. I can not tell you how disappointed I am from this support. They are hardly to understand and they know nothing!!! As an early adopter of the Thinkpad Tablet 1 this was not my first experience with them and the only reason to buy the Yoga was that there is no alternative for my kind of usage. Nevertheless I found the solution by my self and I can't tell you how happy I am. Not to be misunderstood, this is a problem of the european support I don't believe (or hope) that it is the same with the US support and especially the Lenovo Staff in this forum does a really good job!

Answer:Lenovo thinkpad yoga 14, wifi problem on tablet mo...

Hi, welcome to the forums.

Can you please post the full model number of your Thinkpad Yoga 14?
Are you using Windows 10?

I may suggest you first to try to update the Wifi drivers and maybe some other of the system driver of you Yoga.
Here are my general tips:

1) Try first Windows Update and update all the drivers and Patches
2) Try Lenovo System Update to get any new/missing drivers.
3) Try to install Lenovo Settings and Lenovo Companion from the Windows App Store, Lenovo Companion also has a "update driver search"
4) Sometimes all that software does not recognize some updated / missing driver. Check Lenovo's Support Site and search for your specific model drivers (use the full model number of your Thinkpad).

After that we can try a little bit more. For example I also like to test it on some other Wifi networks just to be sure it is not a compatibility issue with the Wifi Router.

I am experiancing a strange problem with the pen/ digitiser: after waking up from standby, the pen seems to go into a frenzied clicking when i touch it to the screen, i.e. as if the pen is tapping the screen continously at very high speed. The problem goes away upon restarting the machine but comes back after standby. I have installed all windows and lenovo updates to no avail...any one familiar with the issue?

Strangely enough, the current driver being used for the thinkpads (and presumably all tablet pc's) comes under their 'Legacy' drivers section!

I have just purchased the ThinkPad Yoga. I was wondering if there is a way to change what "handedness" you on when using the digitizer pen. I am left handed and the pen is obvioulsy configured to be used with your right hand. So when I write using the pen the writing and the pen tip to not match up like it is supposed to. It matches perfectly if I were to write something with my right hand but when I use my left hand, the writing is off (as in the letters do not match up to where I wanted to write them) Any information on this would be great, kind of anoying for trying to add notes in class. Thanks

HiI purchased the Lenovo 20cd000muk thinkpad yoga (or s1 in some countries).I noted that in tablet mode, the wi-fi connection get lost, the wi-fi disabled, and it is not possibleto scan the network or connect the device. So I have no wi-fi in tablet mode, but in laptop mode everything works fine, with no issues. From Lenovo datasheets I had noticed that the wi-fi antennas are in the rear of the display, and I've read in other threads about x220 and other products that the problem (in tablet mode) have no solution,i.e. it's like a manufacture problem. Now, I ask all this model owners, and the administrators or technicians: can you confirm that this aproblem related with this specific model, or your thinkpads yoga 20cd can connect normallyin tablet mode?Is there a possible solution? Thank you for your help.

Today my digitizer stopped working for the first time since I purchased my Thinkpad Yoga several years ago. Touch screen still works as normal. I don't think it's software related because I dual boot Windows and Ubuntu and it doesn't work in either operating system. Before it would work in both operating systems, and I haven't had any updates since it was last working. Is it possible for the digitizer itself to be broken somehow? I haven't dropped the device or spilled any liquid on it. I've read elsewhere on the forum that the digitizer is powered by a capacitor that is charged within the laptop. Is this still true for Thinkpad Yogas? Are there steps I can take to diagnose the issue?

I was having responsiveness issues with the trackpad for a while, then, i open my laptop one day and it's completely unresponsive, as well has the backlit keyboard not working (the hotkey still pops up that it's "lighting up" the keyboard, but no actual lights) and the trackpoint being completely unresponsive too. I've tried:- Restarting computer- Using Lenovo's various "fixing" softwares- Looking for a keyboard firmware shortcut for enabling/disabling trackpad, (doesn't exist on this computer)- Re installing drivers (Ultranav driver refuses to install manually, "driver installation failed")- Booting on a non microsoft OS (Booted on a linux Mint installation and it still doesn't work)- Booting into BIOS and looking for "enable/disable trackpad option", That option does not exist for me.- Opening up computer and checking the physical connection, All plugged in fine. When i open the device manager in windows there is no entry for the mouse whatsoever. The touch screen and the pen both work fine. I think it all points towards a hardware issue, i can pick up another trackpad on ebay for pretty cheap, but obviously i'd like to make sure that it would actually solve the issues.  The major confusion for me is that why would faulty trackpad hardware stop the backlit keyboard from lighting up? How are the two linked? Any ideas appreciated, Thanks!

I've had this issue for more than 6 months, and have even returned the tablet to Wacom in Germany, and have had it returned with no fault found. The tablet is an Intuos3 wide, and was bought to replace an ageing Graphire 2. But it has never started up, although the eraser end works fine, the nib is completely dead. I have discovered however that if I boot the machine with the Graphire connected (they use the same driver and the Graphire has no problems at all), and then unplug said Graphire and connect the Intuos to the same USB port it works fine. So this is what I am doing. Not ideal reaching down behind the machine every time I switch it on, but it does work.I'm reluctant to update the driver in case I lose this method altogether.Just wondered if anyone has any ideas as Wacom have none.

Wacom Tablet keeps bringing up a driver error on Photoshop CS4 and Illustrator CS4.
(see Image)

Yet works seemingly fine when Photoshop / Illustrator actually opens...????

Any help with this problem would be greatfully recieved.

Current OS = Windows 7 Pro 64bit
Tablet = Wacom Bamboo

Drivers up to date with Wacom site and tablet worked perfectly on CS3 under Vista Home 32bit on the same PC.

Cheers guys for any help you can give.

I use an eight year old Intuos 3 which has developed some issues.
Sometimes when PC starts up message appears stating tablet driver is not running, but it will work up to a point - more like a mouse with no pressure detected.
Other times only the eraser end works.
Device manager states it's working properly, but although it's in Control Panel when trying to get in it states that no tablet can be found.
I have updated and then reverted drivers, removed and redetected in Device Manager, stopped and started services with no success.
Of course the tablet could have had it, it is old, but would that stop the driver loading.
I would replace but if this driver won't load it's quite likely that any replacement would use the same one, with the same problems.
Very grateful for any ideas.

Answer:Wacom Tablet Problem.

Have also tried to set the service start up to delayed but tells me tells me Error 87 could not be set.Parameter is incorrect.
So will try manual and start it up when all others have loaded. May be a conflict at start up.

Intuos 3.Pen tip does not work at all, and the eraser tip behaves as the pen tip should (draws), and recognises all clicks.Have removed preferences but no change. This cured a similar problem a few weeks ago, so looks like I may have a deeper problem. There is a later driver available.

Hey all, I just unboxed my Helix yesterday (3689, I think), and the digitizer pen was in a separate box in the package (it wasn't in the body of the tablet).  Everything works well with the computer, but it doesn't recognize the digitizer pen.  If I take it out of the holder or put it in, there's no change.  The screen doesn't recognize the touch of the pen or anything.  I've updated all of the drivers that windows and Lenovo wants, but that didn't fix the issue.  Is there a specific driver that I can get from Wacom itself to fix this?  I had Lenovo's tech support try to fix it, but they wouldn't find a software fix.  They offered for me to send it in and for them to fix it, but I don't want to wait 2 weeks to get this back because I need it.Any advice? Thanks.

I had read that the Thinkpad Helix should work with the Intuos 4 pen, so I bought one, only to discover that it doesn't seem to work. The pen that came with the tablet works fine (with pressure sensitivity in Photoshop, after I installed the Wacom drivers), but it's a bit thin and lacks an eraser. Does anyone know what pens work on this laptop?

Answer:Wacom Intuos 4 pen doesn't work on Helix

When you tried using the Intuos 4 pen, did you take the lenovo pen out of its dock on the tablet? In order to save battery life, the digitiser is automatically switched off when the pen is in the dock. Matthew

I recently purchased a wacom palm rest since my w700 did not initialy come with one. Everything works great but the Pen gets stuck in the side holder, basically it doesn't spring back out. If I push the pen in too far I have to use tweezers to pull it back out. Is there some trick or part that I am missing to make it work? This is driving me crazy! PS. My pen is the correct model so it can't be the pen must be something else.Pen Part Numbers:Lenovo P/N: 45N2630FRU P/N: 45N2631EC No.: N61558

Answer:w700 Wacom Pen Holder - Doesn't Work!

I also retro-fitted the Wacom palm rest to my W700.  You'll also need to purchase a small pen-retaining clip that mounts inside the body of the W700.  I bought mine from IBM spare parts (you'll also need a retaining screw - not included with the part);  I don't have the part number to hand, but it is shown on the expanded parts diagram.

Hello members of Seven Forums! This is my first post here, and I'm not too familiar with the forums, but I am looking forward to be a part of the community

Anyway, since I have seen lots of useful solutions to most of my Win 7 problems, I am posting a problem which I am experiencing with my Wacom Tablet and Windows 7.

I got a Wacom Bamboo Fun Tablet for Christmas 2009, and was using it with my old computer.
When I got a new PC last year I plugged my Tablet into the computers and Windows installed its drivers and I installed its additional included drivers through its installation CD.
For months, everything was working fine and I got these additional cool features, such as an effect every time I tap or double tap on the screen (A little circle would go outwards from the pointer), get to draw on Stickies, which is handy for me as it is like a checklist, and the handwriting feature on Messenger 2010 would detect pressure, meaning the harder I press, the thicker the line is and vice versa.

All these features seemed to disappear after I changed one setting; disabling the 'Hold to Right Click' features as it was disallowing me to draw smoothly on my painting software and I already have a button for that on my pen. Then, the features stated just disappeared and I have no idea what caused them.
I have tried re-enabling the hold to right click feature and re-plugging in the device numerous times with no luck.

I don't know whether this is a hardware issue or caused by... Read more

Answer:Problem with Windows 7 and Wacom Tablet

You need to uninstall the drivers and reinstall them.

It is best to make sure all traces of the drivers are wiped with this;

Phyxion.net - Driver Sweeper

and then reinstall.

Hi, I have just finished installing my Nokia Lumia 520 Digitizer but I have few problems with it. The digitizer works but if I switch my phone of and start it up again it stops working and I have to factory reset it by using the buttons to make it work again.
Could someone please explain me why my digitizer stop working if I switch of my phone. I've been with the charger in my pocket all time now to make sure that it doesn't run out of battery.

I broke my screen a while back.  Thanks  to this forum (thanks erik and JameZ) and a lot of hard searching I managed to find a replacemnet screen (not at all easy) but it did not include the digitizer. I found a really good You tube video (Jeremy Powlus) showing how to do the job and did the whole thing just as he said.  Hurrah!  I now have a working screen! BUT When I put the  pen anywhere near it it goes completely crazy opening loads of windows all over the place.  Any suggestions? The digitizer does not look at all damaged. WACOM digitizer SU5E-12S05AS-02X Wistron PART NO 54.25017.011 Tablet is X61 Model 776796U

Hi all,I've the Lenovo Thinkpad W701 with Windows 8.1. I installed the current driver (from 2010!!) for Windows 7 and everything works fine for some years. But now I bought a new Wacom Intuos Pro. After installation of this drivers, the driver of the internal W701-digitizer crashes. Another problem of the internal W701-Digitizer:The work with current Adobe Cloud-products makes lot of problems: Photoshop CC uses the pen only with special tricks and Illustrator CC always crashes if the internal Wacom-driver is installed. At office it's no problem - here I use the external newer Wacom Intuos. But when travelling, the internal digitizer was a very nice function, which now doesn't work at my W701 since I installed the Intuos-Driver (I had to uninstall it, because it crashes evry time and it wasn't possible to start Adobe Illustrator, which has a problem with this old driver). So I think, the driver from 2010 is too old and didn't really work under Windows 8.1, has conflicts with newer Wacom-tablets and didn't support current functionality like WIndows Ink (which is necessary for Photoshop and Illustrator). Therefore my question:Did anybody know, if there are actual drivers othe then the official offered Lenovo-Driver for the W701-digitizer? Has anybody other also problems, running the internal W701-digitizer from Wacom together with newer Wacom-Tablets? Thanks al lot,Klaus

Answer:Wacom Digitizer on W701 and Win 8.1

Thanks to the very good service of Wacom, I've a very good solution:  You can download a current driver underhttp://www.wacom.eu/index4.asp?pid=9278&lang=deThis driver works with the Thinkpad W701 digitizer and supports also all current requirements used by adobe. Using this driver, you can additionally work with another Wacom-tablet (tested: The Intuos Pro) and Adobe Illustrator starts and all Adobe CC-products (Photoshop, Illustrator) are working very good with both digitizers: The Intuos AND the internal W701 Wacom digitizer. My question: Why doesn't Lenovo also support this good solution on it's driver-site?

Hi! I just got a Thinkpad Yoga, 12.5 inch display, HD resolution, and I was wondering if I had a Wacom digitizer in my model, because a lot of posts were saying to look for the HID-compliant touch screen, which I found in my device manager: Also, Wacom Pen was preinstalled on my computer, but the pen slot seems to be plugged up, the same way as the ones on the models that don't have the digitizer, and my model is HD and not FHD.  My model number is 20DLCTO1WW

Answer:Is there a Wacom digitizer in my device?

Good day and welcome to the community.

I don't know why you're seeing the Wacom device in DevMgr, but looking at the system configurator on the sales page indicate that pen capability only comes with the upgrade FHD display option. The default HD display option is multitouch, only.

Hope this helps to clarify a bit.
Regards.

I have a Wacom Digitizer 2 model UD-0608-R which originally worked OK on old computer W98 even when upgraded to WXP. My new Computer on WXP SP3 required a USB connection and I bought a serial to USB cable. At one stage of trying, I managed to get it to work but for some reason, it doesn't operate the cursor now.

So I think this is an old Vista problem that has yet to go away (Windows Journal, Dual Monitor, Pen Tablet).

I have dual monitors, a Wacom Intuos3 tablet, and the latest drivers (6.1.3-5) for the tablet.

It actually works fine in most software. However, when I run Windows Journal, the eraser tool and lasso tool are both off set about 300 pixels to the left of where the pen cursor is. This happens based on the software tool... it doesn't matter if I use the pen end or the eraser end of the stylus, I still get the offset.

Turning off the 2nd monitor "fixes" the problem. But, obviously, I want both my monitors to work at the same time as the eraser and lasso tools.

I've contacted Wacom, but have yet to hear back. Other threads I've read suggest that Wacom might be waiting on Microsoft for a solution.

Anyone got any ideas?

Thanks!

I have a tablet which I love to use for Photoshop work.. It works great except that some one at Windows decided that it would be a good idea to have animated cursors. A ripple effect occurs everytime I click and animated circle show up everytime I right click or hold down the cursor.

Working with artwork these effects are incredibly ANNOYING, esp since I am clicking all the time and these effects ubstruct my view! Not to mention they are completely useless. I think I know when I am right clicking or clicking and don't see why I need this annimation to tell me that.

Does anyone know where I can turn these effects off? I looked in the control panel under Pen and touch but I couldn't find anything.

I do not think these effects should be standard in the Windows Seven Release. Perhaps they can be truned on as an accesibility feature for those who want it.

Best

Ben

Answer:Wacom Tablet- Blinking Cursor Problem

I don't think it's accessible via the Pen and Touch options, or even in the WACOM pad's own interface
- try in the Control Panel under Mouse..

one of the options under "Pointers" is to "Allow Windows themes to change mouse pointers"
- it's done by un-ticking that box near the bottom..

- see if this makes any difference..

I am facing problems using the Wacom Bamboo Multitouch with my Lenovo T410.Really it works well at the beginning that means the pointer on the screen moves according the finger movement on the tablet. After sometime time (few...) , specially opening more applications like notes  or others,  the pointer start moving discontinuously (stop & go...) ,  not following the speed and the direction of  the finger movement on the tablet , sometime starting commands without requests.I tried to reinstall wacom driver without success or improvement; I tried also to improve the priority of the process but no change happened.I've checked also the CPU and the PF usage but no problems there.Any suggestion ?

Hi All, I just got my W700 and it rocks.  The digitizer is great, but I need a pen with 3 buttons.  Click middle click and right click... much like a normal wacom pen.  I have a standard wacom tablet and would like to use that pen on the W700.  Does any one know how I can get my wacom pen to work on my W700? Thanks! Jason

Answer:Using other Wacom pens with digitizer on the W700?

Hey jtaylor, I got my W700 yesterday and I'm having the same problem as you do. One of the main reasons why I got this machine is because of the wacom!! I tried my Intuos pen but obviously it doesn't work. I need a pen with 2 buttons (I think you mean 2 and not 3) instead of just one to be able to use Maya... unfortunately the wacom drivers and control panel are laid out to use only one button if you try to configure the pen. The pen itself is pretty cheap and I wonder what lenovo was thinking when they ordered such a pen to wacom... no real pro will use this toy for work!! The tablet itself is good and the size at least for me, feels comfortable (and I use the 12X9!) and the distance from the edge of the computer (where the tablet ends) to the surface is not too bad and I can control any point of the tablet without too much trouble in Photoshop. Here is something I'll try tonight. Since the bamboo is similar to the wacom in the W700 and I need to install XP 64bit to use the full 4gig of ram and to get rid of all the crap that was intalled from the factory, I'll use the bamboo's driver and see if it works. I believe the bamboo as a 2 side buttons as an Intuos and maybe my other pens might work.I wonder if Lenovo will treat us with a new driver that supports 2 button pens on the W700 before Christmas...

7 works with WACOM tablet OOB, but there's no pressure sensitivity. If you install WACOM drivers you get pressure sensitivity but you lose almost all features of tablet PC support, e.g. the cursor becomes a normal mouse, you don't get the virtual keyboard side panel, and the right click doesn't work as designed. Has anyone resolved this issue?

Answer:WACOM digitizer and pressure sensitivity

My Wacom Bamboo Fun tablet works fine in Win7 64bit. I'm using the 5.1.0-4 Vista drivers.
