I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hello, I recently purchased a refurbished Thinkpad Yoga 14. The touchscreen has never worked, so I'm wondering if there's any driver I'm missing? What is the driver for that? Thanks!

I'm running windows 10, and suddenly my touchscreen stopped working. I checked in the device manager and the "HID compliant touch screen" was disconected. After trying to reinstall software, it was uninstalled and now the option does not even show up anymore. I reinstalled all lenovo drivers and im getting nothing. Windows has no idea its even there. Full disk format and a fresh copy of windows 10, and still nothing. This laptop has been through lenovo support again and again, the last time it went was kinda the last straw for me. :/ It's out of warranty now, but while it was in repair, other things on the computer were also damaged. Hence why it went back twice. But now suddenly the touch screen has stopped and I can't get a single response. Im hoping this is a driver malfunction somehow, but the touchscreen will not even show up in the device manager, not even under hidden devices. Any help?

I am running Windows 10 on my Thinkpad Yoga, and a few days ago the touchscreen simply stopped working. I do not remember installing any new upgrades, or tinkering with system settings; it just stopped. I still go automatically to tablet mode when I twist the screen around, and everything else functions fine.Any advice is appreciated, thank you.

Lenovo ThinkPad Yoga S1, Windows 8.1The touchscreen stopped working, although the pen works. How can I fix it?

Answer:Touchscreen stopped working, ThinkPad Yoga

I have the same issue.  This first occurred back in May or June when it all of a sudden stopped responding to touch.  Additionally, the auto-rotation was disabled as well as the trackpad lock when the screen is bent all the way back.  I finally got around to sending it in last week and earlier this week I got it back with a factory image loaded onto the machine.  After booting up, the touchscreen was working perfectly fine as was the auto-rotation and trackpad lock.  I then proceeded to start installing Windows updates and after the last installation, I discovered that the screen had become unresponsive again!  To me, this indicates that some update had disabled the screen and indeed, under Device Manager, the HID-compliant touch screen is noted as being disconnected.  I'm not entirely sure how to reconnect the screen, so if anybody has suggestions that would be appreciated. On a separate note, I called Lenovo software support and after explaining the situation to the technician on the phone, he then told me that I would have to buy software warranty for them to fix it.  This is ridiculous!  Why should I have to pay Lenovo to fix a problem that stems from a probable incompatibiity of their own software/drivers with Windows updates?  And after I complained about this hypocrisy, he even had the gall to suggest to me to talk with a "computer-savvy friend" who might be able to help.  I spent a lot of money on this machin... I have my Yoga for 5 days and the touchscreen stopped working mid-use! Tried everything I could, I also have reinstalled the factory image. Touchpad and pen are working correctly but not the touchscreen.  The HID Touch device is in the hardware manager. It's a 20C0. I've open a service request yesterday, I'm still waiting. Does anyone else had this problem with a brand new Yoga?

Answer:Thinkpad Yoga - Touchscreen not working anymore

Hi,

Welcome to Lenovo Community Forums!

I?m sorry to hear that touchscreen of your ThinkPad Yoga stopped responding.

Open Device Manager in control panel. Look for the option Human Interface Device. Under Human Interface Device, look for HID-compliant device. Right click on this option and choose Disable and then re-enable the same.

If the above said didn?t help, it could possibly be a hardware issue. I?m sure the Lenovo technical support can be of great assistance.

Regards,
Mithun.

Just today, the touchscreen on my Yoga Plus stopped working. I have tried everything, including reinstalling drivers, but I just get the message "driver is not intended for this platform." Can anyone help? I love this PC, it's great, I am just really disappointed Lenovo support doesn't seem to do what it promises. Thanks very much!

Sorry, I know another thread on the touchscreen but a little dfferent.  It was working until I reinstalled and put on Windows 8 Eneterpise. It isn't booting as UEFI, only legacy and pretty much everything else works.  I haveraised a ticket with Lenovo but I thought I would see if anyone else found a fix.  Tried disabling enabling HID USB devices (Although I only have one not two that some folk have).  Cold boots too. Doesn't work but no errors that I can see.

Hello, I got my ThinkPad Yoga 15 about 2 weeks ago and all of a sudden the touchscreen stopped working today, so I rebooted but nothing happened. Windows doesn't recognize the Touchscreen HID Device anymore and reinstalling doesn't help. I think it's a hardware fault as the bottom middle of the screen heats up shortly after booting and the head spreads around the bottom half of the display (which wasn't the case before, when the Touchscreen still worked.)  I got the machine as an on-display from a store, it was refurbished and still has Lenovo warranty. My question is if this is covered by warranty. If not I would be very upset since this would be the second ThinkPad product in the last 2 years that broke shortly after buying and didn't get repaired.  Regards, Ken Hutchinson

My Yoga 12 touchscreen had lots of smudges and fingerprints. I tried cleaning with a lint free cloth and water, but it didn't do the trick, so I naively added a drop of alcohol to the wet cloth. Oops! It now has weird streaks and discoloration (that only can bee seen when the screen of off, btw). But how can I clean this or refinish the touchscreen to remove the marks the alcohol seemed to create? Lucy?

i have had this problem before, and it could be hardware based. One of the sure way to find out whether this is a hardware based issue, is to go into the BIOS menu, and see whether you can navigate the BIOS menu based on touch. Hi. I really hope you can help me! I have a brand new Yoga Pro 3 11" computer. It's less than 2 weeks old. I downloaded windows 10 and about three days later I started having several issues. My biggest concern is the fact that the touchscreen is completely unresponsive! The actual screen is unbroken and if I touch the windows area of the screen it opens but other than that there is no response at all to me touching the screen. In the "about" area of the computer it says there is no pen or touch capability. I'm at a loss and would appreciate help here.

Hi, i have the issue that all Windows 8.1 Gestures work perfectly fine with the Touchpad but most do not work with the Touchscreen.Pinch to zoom, one finger click or selection, or longer one finger click for a right click drop down menu work just fine.Especially in tablet mode it is anoying to have to grab the pen to use it swiping in from the right screen side to open the charms bar and not being able to use my finger.  I am guessing its just a settings problem wich is kind of tricky to find - or i am blind to finding it - because except theses gestures the touchscreen works fine and accurate as it should. Thank You for any help you guys can give me!  PS.: Machine is a Thinkpad Yoga EDIT: Ok i just found out that in Reading Mode when the camera is on the right side all gestures work perfect - the other 3 positions the problem is still remaining

Answer:Thinkpad Yoga gestures on Touchscreen

I was having a similar issue on mine. Recalibrating the touch screen fixed it. A lot of people are having issues with this on Windows 7 devices that came with touch screens when the very edge of the touch screen is not able to be touched. I'm guessing that Windows 8 requires that the touch start at the very edge (or beyond the edge) of the screen for the gesture to be detected. When the display is mis-calibrated, when you touch the edge of the screen, it registers as just inside the edge and is detected as a click instead. Since the calibration does not change with device rotation, I'd be that your vertical calibration is ok (since it works in reading mode), but that your horizontal calibration is a bit off. if you search for "Calibration" in the control panel, the "Tablet PC Settings" contains the menu for recalibrating the touch (and pen if you have one) inputs

I installed the most recent windows 10 x64 synaptic driver this morning here on the lenovo site.  The new driver installed fine, but then after I went to reboot my system, the touchscreen was not working. I tried installing the march 1st Touchscreen patch from the same page, and it didnt fix it.   Under the device manager I have located the Touchscreen, it is showing up under Human Interface Devices, as an unrecognized USB input device.  In the properties window, listed under Events, it lists the "Device onfigured (null)".  After trying to install synaptics again later on, I get "Device not migrated", then "Device configured (input.inf)", and finally "Device not startd (HidUsb)". I don't have a wacom stylus, just the standard one that came with the device.Any help resolving this would be much appreciated.

I recently decided to use my Wacom Graphics tablet with my Yoga 260. After all the necessary drivers were installed for the Graphics tablet. The touchscreen on the laptop seems to have disappeared, where it had worked perfectly beforehand. I went through the Device Manager and settings and the computer says that there is no longer any touch screen support. I am using Windows 10 and was really hoping that I could use both the computer and the Graphics tablet together. Can somebody please help or give me a way of enabling my touchscreen? Thanks in advance!

Hello I bought a Yoga X1 last year and it was working fine until about 3 weeks ago. For unknown reasons - possibly because of some Windows 10 update or because I installed a "nightly built" of the VLC video player the touchscreen stopped working. Windows 10 could not find a driver anymore (claiming that the driver it found is not suitable for this version of windows or womething like that). Same happened with the Lenovo driver for the device from the Lenovo website. I always hat the device marked yellow and "not working properly" in the device manager. I finally found in a forum aomeone pointing to a different driver for the Xoga X1's Wacom device and installed it. Now it shows up in the Device manager without Problems, but I still have no touch functionality. I deinstalled VLC alread and updated Win 10 again - still no luck. do I need some additional driver to connect the device that is recognized in the Device manager with Windows 10 somehow? Or activate it? I booted from a USB rescue stick for Win 10 and there the touch functionality was ok - so its not a hardware issue! Thank you.

Hi everyone. My Thinkpad (Yoga 12.5, WINDOWS 10) screen acting strangely. It works, then touch function stops. It starts working again when I do enable/disable HID touchscreen in device manager. Works sometimes 10 minutes, sometimes an hour or more, then stops again. Power saving option is OFF on this device. Drivers are all updated to the latest through Lenovo driver update process.Since it is partially fixed by driver enable / disable function, I suspect it is software and not hardware issue, however can not pinpoint it. Other clues to solve this mistery: 1)It is plugged in (not on battery) 2) HID-compliant touch screen driver is Microsoft version (10.0.16299.15) Driver date 6/21/2006 (Maybe old?) I hope somebody can help.Thank you.

hi guys,

my Touchscreen not working on satellite c50t-a-10t after win10 upgrade

no win10 drivers for this model on tosh website

tried installing win8.1 graphics drivers...no joy

tried hardware troubleshooter...no joy

will win 10 eventually update and correct this problem?

Answer:Touchscreen not working on satellite c50t-a-10t after win10

The Toshiba Satellite C50T-A-10T(PSCF6E-08505PEN) laptop originally came with Windows 8.1 64-bit.

According to its driver downloads site, it doesn't have full driver support for Windows 10 64-bit.

The "anniversary update" for Windows 10 will be released in stages, starting on August 2nd, but I doubt that'll resolve your problem.

Hi everyone,  I recently purchased the Thinkapd Yoga and was pretty excited about the touchscreen and the ability to just fold the laptop together and use it as a notepad. ProblemUnfortunately the touchscreen does not seem to be properly fixed in place. At the bottom right quarter the frame of the screen dents in and makes creaking noises as soon as you rest your hand on it to write with the digitizer pen. The sound does not appear when the screen frame is just touched lighty. But as soon as you press down a little more (i.e. rest your hand normally while writing) the screen frame makes creaking sounds and the color on the screen close to the spot on the frame touched changes. Again: this is only apparent in the bottom right quarter of the screen frame. The same pressure applied to another part of the screen does not cause it to creak or change colors. QuestionDoes anybody else experience this problem? As the warranty does not have experied as of yet: Do you think this can be fixed or is it a inherent problem whithin the thinkpad yoga series? I did not find any similar problems whith the search function on here which makes me believe that this might just have been a singular manufacturing problem concerning my laptop. Thank you for your answers in advance and have a great day.  Flo

Hello everyone, A few weeks ago I noticed that my touchscreen doesn't respond at all in two areas. Others have reported the same problem, and ended up getting a replacement of the laptop. I have the same dead spots as in the other link, also got my screen replaced, and still have the problem.Does anyone know a solution? I'd hate to send in my Yoga again for what must be the 4th time. Also, for how long is it possible to get a refund? I bought my Yoga a year ago and actually like the machine. I always hoped for the next repair or replacement to bring me a perfectly working laptop, but sadly never had one. Edit: The spots are moving! Sometimes when I reboot/wake the PC up from sleep, they are in other places than before. Seems like the display definitely isn't the problem. I also tested the touchscreen on Ubuntu to rule out driver problems, same thing there. Thanks in advance!

Whenever I use the pen while the screen is flipped back over 180 degrees (whether in tent mode, tablet mode, whatever) the touchscreen becomes unresponsive. The pen works just fine but the screen wil eventually stop responding to touch. THe only fix I found is flipping the screen to laptop mode and back. This isn't app specific either. I mostly use the pen with Artrage and Photoshop, but I just tested on Edge and Mail, and the touchscreen became unresponsive.  I can use the pen in laptop mode without it interferring with touch. Something tells me there's a software issue.  Are there any fixes to this? It's really annoying.  In addition, the pen input can be very buggy at times, it wants to stick to teh top of the screen and I often end up moving the window while drawing.  I've calibrated the pen a few times, and I use both the built in pen as well as the thinkpad pen pro one (the thicker one you can be separately).

Hello,  I recently purchased a Thinkpad Yoga 12 (MP1091PE). I love this laptop since it is a major upgrade from my previous one. I finally got an opportunity to really use the laptop for all its features the last couple days, after completing all the updates for windows 10 pro and lenovo drivers and BIOs.  1) OneNote IssueWhen I would be using Onenote 2013 to take notes with the pen and drag the document, I would have no issues. Howver, when I put the computer to sleep and wake it up again, the touch features (like zoome and draging) do not work. This is the same for the scrolling gesture with the trackpad. I would have to close one note and re open it to make it work again.  I have been looking through the forums about this issue, and have not been able to find a fix. Does anyone else have this problem? 2) Notification/Taskbar IssueWhen I would touch the screen to activate the touch screen keyboard to type, I would have not issues. After repeating the same task 5-6 times, the notification section would not respond, the icon for the keyborard would disappear. I would then simply rotate the screen to portrait and back to landscape and that would fix the problem.  I was wondering if there was something I could do to prevent this from happening at all. Hi

From what I see you have a Thinkpad Yoga 12 model 20DL. I don't have that model and maybe this is not direcctly focused to your issues, but when I updated to Windows 10 it take me some time to stabilize it.

I can recommend you to check on the drivers of the touchscreen and digiter.

This is your models support site, you can organize the drivers by OS and date so you can be sure to apply the latest:

Hi.  I just received my Thinkpad Yoga today (yay!) however already there seems to be what I can only assume is a fault.  Now and again, and now for a prolonged period (>1 hour) the touchscreen seems to keep registering clicks arranged relatively randomly, but within a thin narrow vertical band near the centre of the screen. Hovering the stylus near the screen prevents the clicks occurring though, and so using the stylus I've managed to finally get into Device Manager and disable the touchscreen HID I've tried looking for driver updates etc to no avail.  My laptop is currently turned off for a while, and I'll see if it's resolved once I turn it back on again. Has anyone else had this issue, or has anyone got any suggestions?  I'll have to give Lenovo a call in the morning I expect, as this just isn't right!

Answer:Thinkpad Yoga - Touchscreen malfunctioning - Random clicks in vertical line

This now seems to be resolved, or at least seems to have stopped.  Potentially was related to some DNS server software somehow (though no idea how!)

I bought a Yoga 3 Pro (1370) just before Xmas.  Worked fine until a month or so ago when the touchscreen suddenly stopped working and is unresponsive.  On trying to research this, I came across a reference to device manager.  I have checked my device manager and have a fault sign against "I2C HID Device" - there are two such entries, but only one has the yellow triangle.  I have tried disabling, uninstalling, refreshing the driver for the faulty entry, but nothing seems to work.  Thanks in advcance to anyone with any advice?

Answer:Yoga 3 pro - touchscreen not working

I don't know if this is relevant, but since some kind of update a few weeks ago, the laptop also takes about a minute to boot up to the log in screen.

I have a Lenovo Yoga 3 pro with the Intel Core M 5Y70 Processor. Touchscreen has stopped working for awhile now and I haven't really gotten around to trying to find a solution until now since windows 10 has just been released. I'm currently getting an error 10 for the l2c HID device. Note that there are two displayed under my devices. I've tried uninstalling both and reinstalling to see if that works, but they still show back up the same way. Originally I was on Windows 8.1 and touchscreen stopped working, I'm assuming from some sort of driver issue (installed a wrong driver, or conflicting drivers). I thought Windows 10 could fix this by doing an upgrade, so I went through the upgrade process. Everything came out fine, but touch screen didn't work still. I downloaded and installed all the drivers needed on the Lenovo Support website. That didn't fix my problem. I then decided to reset my laptop and wipe everything for a clean install. Well after doing that on Windows 10, it brought me back to Windows 8.1 (that's fine, just took a bit longer to get back to windows 10). After Windows 8.1 was finished reinstalling, touch screen still didn't work. So I upgraded to WIndows 10 again and updated all the drivers again from the Lenovo Support website. Well touch screen still doesn't work. Might I add that the Windows Icon capacitive button on the screen works just fine. Any help would be greatly appreciated as I feel like i've tried everything on my side. I possibly ha... Read more

Hi all, I've seen a few other posts on this subject, but haven't noticed anything too recent.  I've run into an issue with my brand new Yoga 720 where my touch screen fails to work.  Upon opening device manager, I see that my Wacom Device has a little alert next to it.  The error reported by the device is: "This device cannot start. (Code 10)  A request for the HID descriptor failed." I have tried to reinstall the driver multiple times.  I've grabbed both the Lenovo and the Wacom versions of the driver with no success. I just got the machine today.  The touch screen did not work during the initial installation process, so I don't think the updates are what killed it (as reported elsewhere).  It's also not promising that things magically started to work again after some amount of time. I suppose I don't mind taking the laptop back, but it's otherwise such a nice little laptop (widespread issues with cheap display parts notwithstanding) that I'd really like to be able to hang on to it. Any assistance and / or updates on this problem would be appreciated!

Hey everyone, I picked up my Yoga today, and I love it. However, about an hour ago the touchscreen went completely unresponsive. The last thing I remeber doing, before noticing the touchscreen becoming unresponsive, was installing the Android SDK. (Well, I ran the installer, but it didn't recognize JDK). So, here I am, with the touchscreen not functional at all. Has anyone else had a similar problem? Does anyone have any suggestions? I tried the "refresh" and that didn't work. I'm probably going to try the wipe/clean install option in a bit. I guess that would tell me for certain if it's a hardware problem or not. I'm really hoping this isn't a design flaw with the 360 hinge causing issues. I really like the laptop, and would rather not have to deal with hardware issues like this down the road. :/ I'll be calling support in the morning, but was hoping to get this resolved tonight if anyone has had a similar problem.  Thanks!

I have had a lenovo yoga three since around late july. Never experience any problems with it until I brought it up to college. From early septemeber I have been experiencing the touchscreen spazzing out and having mutliple touchpoints on the screen when I'm nowhere near. I found what I thought was the solution here:  Try this fix: https://support.lenovo.com/us/en/documents/SF15-I0024  I installed it tonight and haven't been able to get the touchscreen to work since. Did this program turn off the touchscreen completely? I always like using the touchscreen, and would like to have it back on.

My Yoga 13 touchscreen will suddenly stop working and then start working again. It usually stops working for anywhere from 15 minutes to 2 hours. I've been unable to figure out what driver enables the touchscreen, so I don't know what version I'm running, but it is up to date according to Windows Update. The two issues began at different times and don't seem to have any relation to each other, but I have also been having WLAN issues. Hey there, I just bought a brand new Yoga 720 13IKB yesterday. Now I just configured Windows 10 and realized that the Touchscreen doesnt work. Like, at all. Which is funny, because it worked once, at the first screen of the Windows initialization, where I pressed "Next" on the touchscreen. After the whole procedure, when I got to the desktop, however, it ceased to work. In the device manager it says 'this device cannot start" (Code 10)'  on the 'Wacom Device'. It also has the yellow exclamation mark on it. So I assume, that's what causes the problem. I just don't know how to fix it, though. I'm absolutely out of ideas at this point. The list of things I've tried includes:- Deinstalling Wacom Drivers entirely- Reinstalling Wacom drivers, first time from Wacom directly, second time from Lenovo page- Installing every othe driver, including chipset drivers- Installing all availably Windows Updates- Installing newest Lenovo Firmware- Installing new BIOS (which didn't work since the newest BIOS was already on there)- Giving up and doing a complete factory reset, including reinstalling Windows 10 None of these things did anything. Even now, after the factory reset it still has the same issue and the same yellow excalamtion mark. What the hell. It has to be some driver issue, since the touchscreen itself worked (once).  So what am I supposed to do?? I can't even return my machine and request a new one, since the st... Here is how the problem appeared:1. I received a new 20FQCTO1WW. First-time booted fine, touch and pen were working at this time.2. Repartitioned the drive and installed Windows (10 pro, the retail version)3. Installed wifi driver from Lenovo support page (http://support.lenovo.com/us/en/products/laptops-and-netbooks/thinkpad-x-series-laptops/thinkpad-x1-...)4. Installed Lenovo System Update and used that to get all the drivers, etc. At this point device manager shows nothing missing, I see all touch screen, pen, Wacom device and all the things but touchpad and pen input doesn't register anything.  I suspect firmware/driver issue. Any help would be greatly appreciated.  Just as a side note, touchscreen as well as brightness adjustment doesn't work out of the box on Ubuntu 16.04 LTS, if anybody has ran into this and found solutions.

Main issue im having is the keyboard is acting very bizzare. First keypress does not register when I start typing or after pressing the spacebar. shift keys and backspace are intermittent. for example, on this sentence i had to press the "f" key twice as well as press every letter twice after each press of the spacebar. Reinstalled drivers, system restore, malware scans all to no avail. i'd guess it's a hardware issue.now the touchscreen:does not work 99% of the time but randomly appears to. When it's not working windows tells me no touch is available for this display. Seems like a poor connection to me as well as I can't seem to find touch screen drivers. anyone have experience with this?

There are parts of the screen (near the center, a bit to the left) not reacting to my fingers. For example, on desktop, when I touch a spot for like 5 secs and remove, it'll act like right click and a menu comes up.But near that specific spot, it doesn't react at all or react partially (as if I'm touching that part repeatlessly, it'll act like drag if I move but doesn't wor as right lclick no matter long i leave my finger there) or worst the circle for where my finger is supposed to be is like 2 cm lower. Software problem?Or need repair?   Edit: Nevermind, googled around and someone suggested restarting and it seems to work.Good thing it's not permanent, should have done it earlier.

Answer:Touchscreen not working properly (yoga 700)

Okay, this happened again. It was working fine, put it on sleep, went back to it after ~50 minutes, parts of the touch screen wasn't responding.I think last time was after sleep too. I didn't restart it this time, put it back on sleep and woke it up right away and it's fixed.  While I can fix it with a restart or by putting back to sleep, it gets annoying doing it again and again. Is there a way to fix this?

I recently bought a Yoga 520 from a local Lenovo's partner store. Everything worked fine, until I recently intalled the latest Windows update and restarted the device. I also enclosed the list of Update I installed until today (09/29). I had contacted the store where I bought the laptop and also consulted the local service center, but both of them couldn't resolve the issue. Some efforts I had tried:1. Accessed Control Panel > Hardware & Sound > Device Manager > Human Interface Devices > HID Compliant Touch Screen. I had tried to: 1) disable and reenable it, and 2) uninstall it and restart the laptop, but none of them works (the touchscreen still does not detect touch input). 2. Downloaded and installed the latest Wacom Drive, including the Wacom Dual Touch driver. This also does not resolve the issue. 3. Downloaded and installed the latest NVIDIA and Intel HD's graphic card driver. Again, the touch screen is still not responding. 4. Accessed the Universal Serial Bus Controller > USB Root Hub (xCHI) > Properties > Power Management and disabled the "Allow the Computer to turn off this device to save power". It still doesn't work. Some other conditions:1. The Lenovo's Wacom-powered pen works perfectly. The screen detects the digital input, but it does not detect hand/finger touch input.2. Doing full reset of Windows brings the touchscreen capability back. However, after Windows automatically downloaded and installed the forementioned ... Read more

It is perfect - but I'm having a problem with the touch screen.Sometimes it "ignores" my input... or the object I am dragging jumps to the other side of the screen. I drew a spiral in paint without removing the finger from the screen - this is how it looks like because of the two bugs i just mentioned:  The drivers are up to date. Also I unselected "Allow Computer to turn down this device to save power", as mentioned in this thread. No foreign objects or other fingers were on the display while drawing the spiral. Has anyone had the same issue? Thank you for your help

Hello everyone,
I upgraded my Thinkpad 8.3 to Windows 10 a couple of days ago, and everything went very well. But now I decided to do a clean install to get more space and delete the old files.
The problem is, when I boot from the USB and get to the window there I have to choose the country, language and time zone the touchscreen doesn't work.
I tried updating the BIOS, didn't help.
Is there anything I can do other than buying a USB hub ?.

I re-installed win10 on my ASUS Q302LA laptop after completely wiping the c: drive using Ubuntu. I installed Ubuntu in order to delete the "Old windows" folder, which apparently can only be done from windows if you have god or "trusted user" status, whatever the hell that is. After installing over Ubuntu using win10 from an iso optical disk, the usb ports and device manager no longer register my seagate external hdd. Now this is scary because the seagate is a "backup" drive and now it's useless. It's still good and works fine with my hp elite so nothing's lost, but the idea that were I not to have a second computer my data would be unaccessible by the very products supposedly designed to keep it safe. The touchscreen feature is also non-functional. I'm not sure whether this is a win10 problem or an ASUS driver problem specific to this computer.

I disabled "legacy usb" and "xchi pre-boot mode" in the bios set-up and it works now.

Hey all, Periodically, the touchscreen on my Yoga 2 11 up and stops working.  There are various levels of "not working"... first it might lose some sensitivity, then it will only complete certain actions (like, I will be able to scroll a bit on a page but not click something on the touchscreen), and finally it might just stop working all together.  I have a hunch that this may be related to a touchpad issue... occasionally when using the touchpad, the cursor will get "stuck" somewhere on the screen as though the screen is being touched at the same time, and it won't "release" until I do touch the touchscreen and jiggle the cursor around a little.  (BIZARRE.)  It does sometimes feel as though the touchpad and touchscreen are fighting with each other. I've seen some other threads, but I have not noticed this issue being tied to restarting, or to using USB devices, or to a system update (it came with Win 8.1) or to installing new software.  Quite frankly, I've been having this issue almost since I got the machine, but it was barely noticeable/rare at first and I didn't think much of it.  However, it has gotten progressively worse.  I am at my wits' end, especially because I can't see a pattern or predict when I will start having trouble.  The day before yesterday I was having trouble, then with no changes on my part, the touchscreen began working perfectly last night, and is fine this morning as well. Any input would be... Hello all, My new Yoga 11e was running TERRIBLY due to some software issue so I used the product key and installed a fresh copy of Windows 8.1 from microsoft.com. The computer works great now, except the touchscreen isn't recognized as an imput device and of course is non-functioning.Can anyone lead me to a resolution on this? I tried installing the drivers from Lenovo but still no luck. Thanks a bunch!

Answer:Post re-install touchscreen issue: Yoga 11e

Try installing the Intel GPIO drivers. You can try the one here: http://support.lenovo.com/us/en/downloads/ds041904 Or use the main product download section: http://support.lenovo.com/us/en/products/laptops-and-netbooks/thinkpad-yoga-series-laptops/thinkpad-... And you don't need to use a product key from Microsoft - the laptop has a valid SLP key embedded in the BIOS. The Windows 8.1 installer should read this automatically when you run setup from a USB stick or external USB DVD drive. You can use the instructions here to read this key if you want to keep a note of it: http://www.intowindows.com/how-to-recover-windows-88-1-product-key-from-bios/ Note that the key works with the 'plain vanilla' Microsoft Windows 8.1 installation DVD that you can download from Microsoft if you don't want to use the Lenovo recovery image - or if you didn't get chance to make one. Once you have the key, you can grab the Microsoft ISO here: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-GB/windows-8/create-reset-refresh-media

Hi there, I'm back. Last time my wifi didnt work and eventually nothing, but I managed to do a clean install. Thereafter, with the help of ASUSUTeK, I downloaded some drivers to bring back my internet.

So now I have internet and a fresh clean install, but my touchscreen(and sound too, but I want to focus on touchscreen first) wont work anymore at all. Also, the buttons like f5/f6 dont work anymore either

Things I already tried:
- Calibrating
- Looking in the Device Manager to update drivers.

The problem is, most websites say that I have to turn the ''HID compliant screen'' on and off, but I dont have that driver/thing at all in my device manager. I also cant find a download link on ASUS' drivers website to fix this. Anyone knows how to fix this?

Thank you very much!

Answer:Touchscreen won't work anymore since Windows 10 clean install

I solved the issue thanks to ASUSTEK's help. They recommended me installing the 'chipset' drive @ Asus' drivers website, I did that and everything has been working again.

This is my first post in the community.  I got my Yoga 3 14" two weeks before the Windows 10 launch and I was loving it.  I did the 10 upgrade and it seemed to be working great for the first couple days, and I deleted the "windows.old' files.  My touchscreen has started having problems though, and they seem to be related to Windows 10.  It wil work for a while after I turn the computer on, and then it starts to become less and less responsive until I restart again. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the touchscreen drivers.  This seemed to make it work a little longer.  Is there an update that Lenovo has for this driver, or somthing that it is missing from Windows 8 that I could add to my windows 10 files to make it work better? I mostly am hoping to find that others are having the same problem, so that a software fix can make it better.  If it is a problem wtih my machine only I'll have to start looking into using my warrenty to get a replacement. Thanks.

Answer:Touchscreen on Yoga 3 14" working poorly after Windows 10 upgrade

I'm in the same situation. Purchased a Yoga 3 this summer and everything worked great after the windows 10 upgrade for a couple of weeks. Then suddenly not only did my touchscreen stop working, the USB ports also stopped responding. Under the system information it stated that my computer had no pen out touch input is availble for the display. I was unable to resolve the issue and reverted back to windows 8.1. Everything is functioning normally with the old operating system. Hopefully Lenovo will release an update that fixes the problem. I think I'm just going to hold off upgrading to windows 10 for a few more months.

First year, my Yoga's touchscreen was always working correctly, regardless of connected USB devices. Since some time, if I connect a device into USB 2.0 port, touchscreen gets immediately disabled, no more responding to any touch. In Device Manager, it is not showing any errors. I found a workaround that in Device Manager (HID Devices branch), touchscreen must be set Disabled, then Enabled and then it comes back online. But I know this action was never needed before. Do you have any solution for this? I think it began happening around the time when I started to use Yoga with barcode scanner Heron D-130. But the problem is now happening regadless of USB device, even with devices which were not impacting the touchscreen before. Perhaps not barcode scanner, but some Windows update caused this. Do you have any solution for this so touchscreen will keep working after another USB 2.0 device is connected?

At the moment it looks like disabling power saving feature at touchscreen HID device (in Device Manager) solves the issue. Touchscreen is kept enabled even if I connect other USB devices.

This seems to happen whenever a Windows update goes out, and I have to wait for Lenovo to provide firmware/bios/driver updates that fix the problem.  I have to say that this recurring bad experience will weigh heavily into my next purchasing decision.  I paid a lot extra for a touchscreen that breaks with every Windows update, and the wait for a fix is often quite long. What is the ETA for this next round of fixes from Lenovo?

There has been some information collected on the issue. It appears there is an incompatibility with the touchscreen driver (from Wacom) and the latest Windows 10 Creator Update.  This thread has indicated that Lenovo is aware of the issue, but is waiting for Microsoft to release a patch. I will not mark this topic solved until they provide a working solution. https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/Lenovo-Yoga-Series-Notebooks/Yoga-720-Touchscreen-Not-Functional-Wacom-...

I have a Lenovo Yoga 710 14 " Signature Edition 2-in-1 PC- bought it two days ago. W10. I have problems with the touchscreen when using it as a tablet. The touchscreen is working perfectly when it's in PC mode. Once I fold it and putting it flat (down at the table etc.)- the screen is no longer responding. It's like the touchscreen function is shuting off somehow. Anyone knows how to solve this?? Thanks

HiHave been loving my Yoga 900 but the touchscreen has started acting up.  While it seems there are lots of issues with Yoga touchscreens I didn't find one quite like myne.I realised it works okay in laptop mode but as soon as the screen gets to about 100 to 120 degrees rotation - so before reaching the switch point to tablet mode - the touchscreen becomes unresponsive.  If rotate it back so it's 90 degrees or so then it starts working again.  If I boot with screen rotated then device manager has an exclamation mark for an I2C HID device, status says "This device cannot start. (Code 10) A request for the HID descriptor failed."  If boot with screen around 90 degrees then I see the touchscreen device running normally.Any ideas?I'm thinking maybe the ribbon cable could be the problem? How doable is opening up the display panel? Thanks for any thoughts!

Everytime I try to activate the Touchscreen Keyboard on my Yoga 13, it does not come up and the entire system hangs.  At that point the only way to get the system back up is a forced re-boot by pressing the power key for 10 seconds. I called Customer support but they told me it was a software issue and refused to even try to diagnose the problem. This is my first Lenovo computer and I am not pleased!

Answer:Yoga 13 Touchscreen Keyboard not working and hangs the whole system everytime tried

Have you tried a factory reset by pressing the One Key Recovery Button just left of the power button?A factory reset will fix it! And takes only 15 minutes of your time. Maybe 30 minutes in case you have to make any back-ups.I hope I helped you!

I have looked through all the posts on this and it seems there are 2 threads, one where the touchscreen never worked, and this was often the fact that the ordered model didn't have the touchscreen, and second (my issue) when the touchscreen stops working where it was working before. My model is 20A7-CTO-1WW - 2014 version - Windows 8.1 Pro. Before anyone asks, yes, it does have the touchscreen, it has worked faultlessly for nearly a year. Sometime in the last couple of weeks, the touchscreen stopped working completely. I reqularly apply maintenance (Lenovo and Microsoft, my BIOS is at the latest level). When I stated to diagnose the problem, I saw a couple of anomolies. 1) In the "PC Settings", I says "no pen or touch input is available for this display"  I ran the Lenovo Center test, and in the Log File (full log available)...... Index 18 clearly shows the Touchscreen  And finally, if I go to the HID section of Device Manager (+view hidden), there is no reference to the Touchscreen No reference to the Touchscreen in the BIOS settings, Please can someone give me some advice, it seems that maybe the Touchscreen H/W has been turned off somehow. Thanks, in Advance, Paul

well, the title says it all. is it possible to upgrade the non touchscreen on my x200 convertible tablet to a touchscreen version ? I realize this would void the warranty but I'd like to know if it is possible, particularly to multitouch,,

SOme info about the laptop. Product Name: Sleekbook HP Pavilion 14-f004lOperating System: Microsoft Windows 8 (64-bit) I've had this problem a couple times already. The touchscreen stops working sporadically and the only way to make it work again is installing the  AUO Touchscreen Firmware/ sp63116.exe driver from this site. however this last time I've run into quite the weird problem. The driver installer CLOSES INMEDIATELY BEFORE I CAN DO ANYTHING A couple months ago I posted this:http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Video-Display-and-Touch/AUO-Touchscreen-Firmware-installer-doe... Since then due to time constrains and schoolwork, I did not attempt to restore the BIOS until today.Today I restored the BIOS, followed all procedures they gave me, and the installer for the Touchscreen firmware does the following: -Runs-Asks for permission-Install it-Finishes installing-Runs the program's window-Inmediately closes, I can't even click on anything because it flashes for a second and disappears. I've already restored the laptop to factory presets. The installer DOES THE SAME THINGRestored the BIOS. The installer DOES THE SAME THING So please, do not tell me to restore the laptop. I've done it already. Doesn't work. Same thing for the BIOS. Nothing. Can anyone help me? Thank you

Hello. I'm using Spectre X2 Tablet PC deattachable laptop and I'm having issue with touchscreen. Few days ago my little brother used my PC, he ran all excutable stuffs from my external storage drive and finally, He destroyed my PC. He installed wrong touchscreen firmware (It was for my secondary laptop which from Lenovo). So, I can't use my touchscreen and, It never works. I've already installed all driver listed on  support page, and tried to reset my PC, Re-install windows.. Nothing works. Only way to I resolve it is re-installing proper Touchscreen firmware. But there's no touchscreen firmware for Spectre X2 on support page. Can anybody send me Touchscreen firmware for my Spectre?

So I've had this happen countless times. The touchscreen stops working. The laptop is in perfect conditions. The screen, not even a scratch. I format the laptop, it still doesn' work. So, I've always fixed it by installing the AUO Touchscreen Firmware/ sp63116.exe from:http://support.hp.com/mx-es/drivers/selfservice/hp-pavilion-14-f000-sleekbook/5375393/model/5403360#... My problem atm is that this time, that process isn't working. The installer opens, installs the thing, then the program opens and immediately closes. This prompts windows to ask me if the driver installed correctly or that if it should attempt to install under a compatibility mode. No matter which I choose, it still does the same thing. It won't stay open for more than 1 second.  I've restored my laptop to factory presets a couple times already and the touchscreen isn't working yet because the driver/program/wizard thingy refuses to stay open after it is done installing. Can anybody help me? Perhaps share a different version of the installer? Thank you.
