I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

I'm also having problems with wifi after upgrading to 8.1 on my E545. Wifi is struggling to reach 1mbps download while my other laptop side by side is getting 80mbps.Silence from Lenovo so far. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Hello all,

I got serious issues with the HP G4 250. When I bought it the integrated Broadcom 802.11 device catches the wireless signal really bad. Even with my phone hot's spot on the distance should be not more than 20 centimetres away from the laptop. Now I'm using this wireless card 1.5 meters away from a router with an external antenna.

Ping statistics for 8.8.8.8 :
Packets: Sent = 167, Received = 132, Lost = 35 (20% loss),
Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds:
Minimum = 1ms, Maximum = 2562ms, Average = 98ms

So instead of troubleshooting I just boght a mini USB Realtek RTL8188EU device for $10, which worked fine until today I upgraded Windows 10 with the automatic updates. Now the Realtek doesn't show any network. I tried restarting few times and different USB ports. I tried disable/enable. Install/Uninstall from the device manager. Nothing helped.

Could you please help me find working drivers for both (or at least for one) of the cards?
1) Broadcom 802.11 - current driver version 6.30.223.256
2) Realtek 8188EU - current driver version 1030.6.1201.2015

Thank you in advance!

Cheers,
Nick

Answer:Broadcom 802.11 + Realtek 8188EU wireless issue on Windows 10

802.11 is just a standard. What type of Wireless Connection are you using? b, g, n, ac? If you are using a cellphone as a hotspot, the hardware could just be cheaply built for the wifi portion. Also the speeds are not going to be that great, same as latency.

Hey Guys,

~Per a moderator's request, I have created a new thread. I had initially commented this post in another thread. ~

I did a bare metal install of Windows 10 on a Dell E7250 (touch). While docked at work, no issues at all. As soon I took the machine home, BSOD after BSOD. At this point I'm trying to figure out what culprit is... VPN? SEP? Drivers?

So I ended up looking at the dump files, and it seems that "bcmwl63a.sys" is the main culprit [Broadcom Wireless 802.11ac -ASA- Dell Wireless 1560 802.11ac]. I'm not all that familiar with deciphering BSOD dumps.

I have tried several different driver scenarios. I have tried installing the latest Win 10 driver from DELL (version 7.35.290.0_A01), which made no difference. Reverted back to an older driver (version 7.35.267.0), still had BSOD's.

I also tried an SFC scan, and it did return errors that were supposedly unfixable. Not sure if it is related at all.

My fear is this is a definite driver issue that dell and Broadcom have to figure out. I'm in the process of testing out another machine (same model) just in case. But I thought just to post my findings thinking maybe someone can suggest something that I haven't tried, or make an observation that I wasn't able to see.

Attached will be the minidump logs collected by dm log collector. I will also upload my cbs.log from the sfc scan, to see if that helps:

Hi,
I'm using Lenovo G410 laptop and I'm using Connectify to turn my laptop to become hotspot.
Before I switch from Windows 8.1 Pro 64bit to Windows 10 Pro 64bit, there's no problem with my laptop becoming a hotspot but when I've switched I realize that my Connectify cannot start. I discover that it because my new Broadcom Wireless driver doesn't support Hosted Network Support like image below:

So I try to use older driver like image below:

My connectify finally can start but things become messy that I sometime at random time get BSOD.
Please help.
Thank you and sorry for my bad English.

I've been going to the drivers site for the G570 Notebook (3443) to find a driver for my wireless Network adapter.  I have the Broadcom 802.11n Network Adapter, version 5.100.82.15 dated 10-12-2010.   There are no Broadcom drivers listed at all. I'm planning on uninstalling the ReadyComm 5 and would like to have the Broadcom driver handy in case I need it. I'd appreciate any help in finding this driver.  Thank you.

So i've had my HP notebook for almost a year, sent it back once because it crashed hardcore and they replaced everything.  However, recently, like in the past two months, the minute i get off the internet the Broadcom 802.11 driver uninstalls instelf.  Then when i try to reinstall the driver (which came standard on the computer and should load properly by itself) it sometimes reinstalls and sometimes it takes forever to realize i just reinstalled it and i get pissy and smack the keyboard, for some reason this works.  I know this is completely not the way to do it, but im about to throw this *censored* notebook out the window... well im going to return this to HP but i was wondering if there was something i can do so this doesnt happen anymoreI'm running Vista and I have tried literally, everything.thanks-

hello ,  updated to windows 10 , facing Broadcom 802.11n driver issue (pre-installed). i have tried installing other network drivers too  likeintel pro set, atheros qualcomm  but still dosent work  do help  thanku !!

Answer:Broadcom 802.11n driver issue

Hi: According to the parts list for your notebook at the link below, it comes with a Broadcom 4313 802.11b/g/n 1x1 WiFi and 2070 Bluetooth 2.1+EDR combination adapter. http://partsurfer.hp.com/Search.aspx?SearchText=QB365PA So installing any other driver than the Broadcom one is only making a bad situation worse. Broadcom does not support that model wlan card for W10, so the only suggestion I can offer would be to try the W8.1 driver for that card... This package contains the Broadcom Wireless LAN Drivers that are required to enable the integrated Broadcom Wireless LAN Adapter in supported notebooks that are running a supported operating system.   ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp72501-73000/sp72931.exe

Hi, I recently bought a used T41, type 2373-Y22 from a dealer in Germany. I'm looking for a driver for the integrated wireless card. The program Everest finds the following card to be installed: Broadcom 802.11g Wireless Network Adapter (14E4-4320). This seems not to be the original card, so no driver from Lenovo works. Broadcom doesn't even bother to answer the mails. Can Anybody tell me where I can find a driver for this card? Jrgen

Answer:WIRELESS DRIVER BROADCOM

Hello and welcome!Did you already tried out any of the Broadcom drivers which can be found on the net, like this or one from here?Add-on: The key here is, to find out what Broadcom chipset your WLAN card uses, since it's easier to find a correct Broadcom driver, if you know the exact chipset spec name. For your pciid= 14e4:4320  it might be possibly --> BCM4306 <-- but you will have to prove that twice before searching for a suitable Broadcom driver.Message Edited by vkyr on 03-24-2008 01:27 PM

Hello, I am using a Dell Optiplex 745 with Windows XP Media Center x32 installed on it from off of a disk, and it will not recognize the Broadcom® 5754 Gigabit Ethernet LAN built-in network card. The Hardware Manager does not recognize it and lists it as an 'Ethernet Controller' in 'Other Devices', as pictured, but recognizes my functional Realtek USB Wireless Adapter. Whenever I try to plug LAN cables into the port, my computer does not recognize them and will not allow me to set up a LAN connection, as it thinks I have no network card. I have looked for drivers on Google, but have found nothing useful. I do not know where my XP Media Center disk has gone, so I have not tried to find any drivers on there.

Answer:G70-70 - Error when installing Wireless LAN driver (Atheros,Broadcom)

hi Robert,

Welcome to the Forums

The "No Appropriate Driver to be installed" error usually pops up if the installer can't find the specific hardware ID(s) to install the necessary drivers. This may happen if you have a different type of wireless adapter on your system.

Can you try to install this driver and observe:
WLAN Driver (Atheros, Realtek, Broadcom, Intel) for Windows 7 (64-bit) - Lenovo G70-70

If you still get the "No Appropriate Driver to be installed" error, can you try to follow this guide on how to identify the wireless card manufacturer (or post the hardware ID here). and observe.

 - Sample image (Intel Wireless 7260 hardware ID)

Edit:

Let me know how it goes.

Hi all

I'm at my wit's end.

My laptop is giving me the BSOD at random times, regularly over the past fortnight. They usually happen while I'm using Chrome, and involved the Broadcom wireless driver. But also happens at other times, I was using the dm_log tool now (without any applications open, just after logging onto my machine) and got the BSOD while the tool was working.

I updated all my drivers recently, no change. When I run in safe mode, the laptop seems to be ok.

After I log on the BSOD happens usually within 2 hours, and sometimes while the OS is still loading, it's that bad

Hi,
I have an M4700 running Windows 10 x64 migrated from the OEM factory install of Windows 7 Pro x64, and after checking the drivers installed, the most recent one for the Dell Wireless 1504 is still version 5.100.82.112 WHQL, released 26/10/11.
In other words, the WLAN driver for this model has not been updated once.
To be fair, there's probably been no incentive by Dell to update it as the OOTB driver seems to work OK, but I have noticed all sorts of system issues on the M4700 over the last 12 months and Intel have already posted a newer Prosetx64 version to fix Anniversary Edition related bugs on the wired LAN adapter. So it'd make sense to check to see if there are any newer versions of the WLAN driver.
The M6700 is running a more recent version of the Broadcom wireless chipset (1530) and rather than relying on an ancient HWQL driver, Dell has made available a Win10 compliant driver based on the Broadcom 7.35.340.0 driver pack.
The Broadcom 7.35.317.3 driver - only a few patches behind the M6700 official driver - is compatible with the Dell Wireless 1504 card however the only source I can find for that driver is a driver pack which has been modded, and some of the content of that driver pack is sufficiently questionable to not risk installing it.
General question to any driver tweakers (or to Dell Support if they're reading this) - If BCM 7.35.340.0 is backwards compatible with the Dell Wireless 1504 card, can the M6700 driver update be modified and released ... Read more

I have tried the driver from the official Broadcom website but it doesnt install, just says that bluetooth cant be detected.

I can remember someone posting a link somewhere for the 64 bit version but i cant remember where it is, anyone know where i can find the correct driver?

And while im here, for users who have used both Broadcom and Bluesoleil, which is better? and do they both have the same bluetooth features?

Answer:Broadcom windows 7 64 bit driver?

I can't help, only second the complaint. I'm not sure if you're talking about Broadcom modems, or Bluetooth device management in general. Whatever the case may be, there seems to be a cold shoulder from Broadcom when you approach them as a Windows 7 64 user. First you can read an explanation, as did I, thinking, "let me educate myself a little bit on this, and see if I might ascertain the next step based on that.

Well, that's a nice dream I had there. The explanation, was that there really is no such thing as "bluetooth drivers" per se. ..HUH??

Go there now, and see if you the reader don't glean that from your perusal of Broadcomms "helpful" site. It seems geared towards higher end business users, and selling other products, rather than any "customer support". I guess the logic is, you're just a lowly user, they never actually "sold YOU" anything! Right?- That's how I felt!

Then, if after that twilight zone explanation, they have a nice big package download for Windows 7. It was like, there's no real drivers, but if you insist, here, download this. Another window pops up before it can begin downloading, of course the "EUA". Seemed to make my processor stall, after I clicked "Agree". I remember this because I've downloaded this, deleted it, and downloaded it again. The reason for that is , IT NEVER INSTALLS ! ! !

NO! It starts to extract the files, and passed one of four check marks to the right of the windo... Read more

WiFi did NOT work under Win10 until I redid the installation from scratch -- as something got carried over during the "upgrade" that prevented the WiFi button from working. What MIGHT work is something known as a Repair-Install.  This is the least destructive of all the Windows recovery functions and rewrites the Windows system files, including the drivers, leaving your data, settings, and applications intact. To do this, you will need to use the link to download Win10 installation media and either burn a DVD or create a USB stick: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-10/media-creation-tool-install?ocid=ms_wol_win10Note that when you go do download and build install media, the tool defaults to matching what is already installed on your PC (as in, Home for Home, 64-bit for 64-bit).  Make sure you select the same version as needed for your PC. If you do not, the resulting media will be different and will force you to enter a NEW product code!Once you have that media, follow the instructions in the link:  http://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/16397-repair-install-windows-10-place-upgrade.html If that does not enable the WiFi button, then you're looking at a clean-install and that will remove everything from your PC.  IT's a lot of work to bac... Hi, I have a old Pavilion DV6 3240Br and just upgraded to windows 10. Unfortunately, I can't find a driver for my system. HP says it won't develop drivers especifically for my device. It uses a broadcom 4313gn 802.11b/g/n wireless card. There is a driver (maybe from another notebook model) that works with this broadcom adapter in windows 10 x64 ?  Best regards, Paulo

Hey, I am a long time reader, first time poster - but, I found some drivers that will allow AMD 64 equipped laptops with the Broadcom 54g chipset (ie HP/Compaq/Emachines) to access the internet and network wirelessly in Winddows XP 64 bit edition!!!

Note: these are for 64 bit systems running WindowsServer or XP 64 bit Editions only.

The site is:
http://www.linuxant.com/driverloader/drivers.php

It is the very first link that says generic drivers from Company "all". These are not official drivers, but they work!

Enjoy!

Hello,I have an Aspire E1-571G with Windows 8.1x64 (clean install, no upgrade and so on) and I've been having issues with my broadcom wireless drivers ever since I installed it. The troubleshooter showed up that there is a problem with the default gateway but here's what really happens: I can stay connected to a wireless network but after random periods of time I just lose internet access (note that it doesn't show up in the connections page, everything looks perfectly fine there) and I have to reconnect to the wifi to regain it. I have tried on multiple wifi network and it does the same thing. It works fine if I use an ethernet cable but that just makes it more frustrating.I have tried all the possible solutions I could find online like checking the power management settings, reinstalling the wifi card in safe mode, checking the priority of the wirelss connection, virtually anything. There is no hardware issue with it, it worked perfectly fine on Windows 7. I haven't been able to find wireless drivers for 8.1 and even though I have the latest drivers, it still doesn't work right. There are moments when I can keep my connection for more than 2-3 hours but there are times when it crashes every 5 minutes or so.Does anybody have any idea how to fix this instead of waiting for the drivers to be updated ? I've seen that I'm not the only one with this issue and it's a bit common for e1-571g users. For example lenovo users had the same problem and the only fix was to install the def... Read more

Answer:Windows 8.1 broadcom wireless drivers

boboudrescu  Hello to you!  I just wanted to tell you that your symptoms and troubles are exactly the same as mine.  While I have found some extended ethernet connection by using FIXED DNS Server Addresses (Google Public Adresses 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4), I still have the disconnection/dropped signal at least 6 to 8 times in the day.  So I know it's not a complete remedy by you may want to give that a try and see if it maintains a connection for a bit longer. I have posted information about Broadcom's announcement to get a new driver released and can only hope that it means a complete remedy to the problem with 8.1 drivers.  SOON!! So we shall see!

I apologize in advance if a thread related to this has already happened. Judging from my join date, I'm obviously new to these forums, a friend of mine recommended this to me, so I'm hoping someone here can help me figure out this problem.

That problem being, I recently just wiped out my Windows 7 Basic edition due to some problems it was having and I recently just installed Windows 7 Ultimate (Wireless LAN_Realtek_8.0.0.238_W7x86W7x64_EM108). Now from my judgment with computers when I want to connect to a router, in the bottom right hand corner you could do as so and connect right away. Well, I can't do that. Right now I'm connected through my Ethernet cord and I'm trying to figure out this issue.

I went to my manufacturer website (I have a Gateway zx4800) and I recently downloaded the driver I needed (also x64bit) and I have set-up and installed what I needed to do and I even restarted, and still nothing. I even tried to set-up a wireless connection myself and it told me to wait 90 seconds, but nothing showed up for me to sent anything up, so my mind is just completely boggled.

If I left out any specs that should be posted here to help, I'm sorry in advance, I can answer back asap, but I'm really hoping I can get this problem resolved.

Answer:Windows Wireless LAN Driver Installing Issue

Excuse the obvious question, but did you hit the Wireless key on your laptop's keyboard to TURN ON the wireless chipset? If turned on, it should automatically detect the wireless networks in its vicinity and allow you to connect to your wireless network.

Additionally:

1. Is the Wireless Network Adapter listed and enabled in the Control Panel, under Network Adapters?

2. Are you sure your wireless network is active? Check with another wireless device.

I have a wireless B adapter for my laptop but I was thinking of getting a wireless G card since my router is wireless G and I wanted to use the upgraded security features that were not compatible with the wireless B card. However, I then found this article:http://blogs.zdnet.com/Ou/?p=365that talked about some problem that would affect some of the wireless cards.http://kernelfun.blogspot.com/2006/11/mokb-11-11-2006-broadcom-wireless.htmlI found out about it when checking out the page for the model I was thinking of buying (Linksys model WPC54G) and someone said this problem affected that model card.I was also considering Linksys model WPC54GX4. How could I tell if this issue would affect that model card? If that model is not affected then I would rather get that one instead. Thanks!

Answer:question about Broadcom Windows driver exploit

The articles are almost 1.5 years old.Linksys has most likely released a newer driver by now.Best way to find out is to go to Linksys webpage and check how old the current driver is for the card in question. If you can find a change log you may also be able to see when the bug was fixed.

I am a computer technician for a small consulting firm in Boston Mass called Tech Networks of Boston (TNB). I am having an issue with my 3000 N100 0768-E7U running the Pre-loaded Windows Vista Business edition. Original description: T7200(2GHz), 2GB RAM, 120GB 5400rpm HD, 15.4in 1680x1050 LCD, 128MB nVIDIA GeForce FX Go7300, CDRW/DVDRW, 802.11n wireless, Bluetooth/Modem, 10/100 Ethernet, touch pad, Camera, Fingerprint reader, IEEE 1394, 6c Li-Ion, WinVista Business Since I purchased my laptop from TNB back in March of 07, i have had issue with playing audio while using the wireless. Sound get clearly degraded when wireless activity occurs. I though it would have something to do with drivers so i updated the wireless and sound drivers to the latest ones offered by the manufacturer (which are more recent then the ones provided by Lenovo). no luck. I later decided to wipe and install Windows XP Pro on my laptop. Surprise, sound and wireless work great. Now i have reloaded the newest version of Vista Business with SP1. still having the same issue. Does anyone have any suggestions or fixes???

Answer:Broadcom Wireless and Sound under Windows Vista

Fausto,

I believe we need to look into your audio drivers ... Realtek.  What version number driver are you running under Vista?

Also, what mode are you running the network card in?   Are you running in 'G' mode?

Can you explain a bit more about the degraded sound?  Is it stuttering / skipping, or...?

Thanks.

Download Windows 10 app called Wifi Analyzer and compare the dbm values if you put another PC next to it or your phone (if android - same app). In the power manager advanced settings click on change plan settings and look for wifi adapter strenght settings. Update the driver even if it is the latest. If you have VPN there is a known problem of Windows 10 you can google it.

So just installed Win7 RTM (v 7600) on a Lenovo X200s. I have a Plantronics 510 Bluetooth headset that I use for VOIP. I followed the connecting instructions (just as I've successfully done with other Lenovos) and gone through 1 failed attempt (which happened on the RC version 7100 too). WIn7 happily recommends I download the newest Broadcom Driver at http://www.broadcom.com/support/bluetooth/update.php

I download this driver install kit and when I attempt to install it I get an error immediately. (this worked fine for me on my old X61s)

"The program cannot upgrade your software. Please contact the manufacturer of your bluetooth device for support."

The problem with this is that Plantronics relies on the built in BT driver to work. I had a challenge on my older X61s (discovered it wasn't installing due to internal firewall issues) but knowing that, I took the X200s home and tried the install at home, off of corp net.

I've been able to connect successfully to other Bluetooth devices (like my mobile phone) but the BT headset won't take any drivers. Broadcom's "support" is anything but supportive.

I've uninstalled (through device manager) the BT Peripheral Device & scanned for hardware changes. Still get the same failure.

Anyone have any suggestions? Has anyone run into this problem also and found a solution or workaround? Thanks in advance.

Have a simular problem with TM 5730 and 7730. Broadcon Netxtreme network connection, Intel 5100 Wifi and Jmicron memorycard fail, all connected to the PCI bus. Looks like an old problem with the intel chipset driver reappearing. (In windows 7 this updated driver had to be installed to connect the memorycard reader to the system). Tried the windows 7 driver, but it refuses to install. In my opinion, it is Acers obligation to its customers to have intel provide an updated driver which solves the problem with the intel 4 series express chipset, which is installed in many Travelmate, Aspire and Extensa machines. Please note that broadcom has an updated driver for the Netxtreme connection, but due to the intel flaw with the intel 4 series express chipset, the driver does not work.Acers position "Intel does not support this driver anymore and we will not come with a solution" is in myn opinion unacceptable. In practice it comes to this: You payed your mony, now you have a problem, you are on your own.I am also looking at drivers published by other manufacturers to see if they have a fix for this problem. I have purchased a Broadcom BCM943224HMS 43224 Mini 2102 5103 Half Height WLAN Model: 43224. The existing WLAN card is Intel Centrino Wireless-N 1000. It is supposedly a supported card according to the dealer. The HP Pavilion dv7t-4100 CTO is specifically listed on their compatibility list. 1) I cannot find a driver update for Windows 10. I see that HP Service Pack sp49541.exe provides Broadcom driver support for Windows 7. Is their any point in trying that one? 2) when I replaced the Intel Centrino Wireless-N 1000 card with the new Broadcom card. The computer cannot complete boot. It stalls just after the login. Running HP diagnostics crashes at 61% progress in Short DST Test in progess then powers off.Should I disable the driver for the Centrino Wireless-N 1000, shutdown and power off, then reinstall the Broadcom 43224 and try a restart?  I have spent a lot of time searching for a driver, to no avail. I was thinking that maybe a driver search by windows would work (connecting via hardwire ethernet) after a successful boot. Please advise

I read in a post: spapakons says in <https://www.tenforums.com/drivers-hardware/31008-windows-10-drivers-backwards-compatible-windows-7-a...>Yes! Anything from Vista up to Windows 8.1 should work in Windows 10 (exceptions are very rare), as long as they are of the same architecture (32-bit or 64-bit). Some drivers will install as normal. Others might require to run the setup as Administrator (right-click and select Run as Administrator) or even set compatibility to Windows 7 or 8 to pass the version check. Few may require manual installation from Device Manager (right-click on device, select Update drivers, select last option, then last option to see a Have disk button. Click on the button and browse to the folder where you extracted the driver files. Use WinRAR to open and extract executable drivers).I first right-click on the setup and Run as Administrator, to make sure access rights won't block the installation. If this is not enough (rare but it could), then I try to set compatibility to Windows version of the driver. In worst case, I try the manual installation as described above.Download drivers with the following order: Windows 10 -> Windows 8 -> Windows 7 -> Vista -> XP (only for 32-bit and if no other version is available). Does this imply that HP Service Pack sp49541.exe might work for Windows 10?

Hi,

I have a Dell XPS8300 with a DW1501 Wireless-N WLAN Half-Mini Card. I noticed that it drops Ethernet connection. If I reboot the modem/router, it works for the day but when I power down and bootup the next day, the connection defaults to wireless.  Dell swapped out the motherboard a few years ago, when the pc was still under warranty. They said it had a known issue where the integrated half cards had an issue.  It worked fine since then but I read articles that this is happening to people who upgraded to Windows 10.  I upgraded last year and this started about a  month ago.  Does anyone know if this issue is related to driver or if it is hardware?  Thanks!

I have a Latitude E6500. I was recently updated by IT dept. with the inst. of Windows 7 Enterprise o/s. I was formerly operating on a Windows XP platform. Upon analyzing my machine status on the Dell Updates website, i find It recommends 15 different updates. My main concern is regarding the Dell Control Point Security recommended update. I obtained two separate recommendations. I also obtained a message on my computer the the Broadcom USH driver could not be found.
I would like to know if I need to install the complete Control Point Security Update Dell_ControlPoint-Security-D_A18_R269916 and also the update DELL_CONTROLPOINT-SECURITY-M_A06_R204039
Do I need to run both or just one of them.
Also, Do I really need to install the complete driver pack to access the driver for the Broadcom USH or can I select only that driver?
If the full device driver pkg is installed will I then need a security card to access my machine?

The data rate drops to zero, but the network still says it's connected. After a lot of research this seems to be a driver issue.I have tried two driver versions, the latest one provided  by Microsoft (6.30.223.102) and now the Broadcom driver (6.30.223.75) to no avail."Allow the computer to disable this device to conserve energy" is disabled as well.I have also tried several settings, 802.11g only mode, WMM disabled and a few others with no luck. Thanks,Matt PS: I forgot to add, Lenovo does not provide an official Windows 8.1 64bit driver.

I have noticed an excessive amount of CPU activity on my new IdeaPad S12 (Atom version) after resuming Windows from a suspend.  Using Process Explorer from Sysinternals, I see that 30-40% of the CPU (or at least one of the CPU threads) is being used in "Hardware Interrupts".  By process of elimination, by disabling different devices, I have found it to be related to the Broadcom Wireless-G device.  If I shut down, reboot, or even hibernate and resume, the interrupt storm goes away, but it consistently does this after a suspend/resume (which, unfortunately, I tend to do a lot).  Disabling the device drops the CPU utilization, but re-enabling without a power cycle brings back the interrupt storm.  As far as I can tell, the driver is up to date - it shows as version 5.10.38.14.  On the support web site, it shows the latest driver download for the Broadcom wireless as 1.0.0.2 (??).  In any case, running that installer doesn't seem to change anything.  So I'm stumped at this point, assuming it is either a driver problem or maybe a setting problem (in Advanced properties?).   Would appreciate any helpful tips or pointers.

Answer:Problem on S12 with flood of interrupts from Broadcom wireless-G after Windows resume

Good assumption... Looks more like a setting problem in advanced tab, but have not yet tried to re-create your problem on my own system.  Once I had done so, and have gotten the solution I will be posting it on the forum. For now, try uninstalling and re-installing the driver and see what happens.

I got my MP mini 210 a few days ago with XP home.  I upgraded it to WIndows 7 yesterday.  After install everything was humming just fine, even the wireless.  I thought this is to good to be true.  Then Windows installed 21 updates.  It was after the updates that my wireless was hosed.  Same problems everybody else has documented ihere.  I think it something in those updates is conflicting with the Broadcom 4313 driver. To make a long story short I found the previous version of the hp/broadcom driver.  The URL is: http://www.userdrivers.com/Notebook-Tablet-PC/HP-M ini-210-PC-Broadcom-Wireless-LAN-Driver-5-60-18-4... Right click computer- click properties - then click on device manager.Right click on Broadcom 4313 802.11b/g/n (in Network Adapters)  then click on Uninstall.  Check box to delete the driver software for this device.  You should be uninstalling driver version 5.60.350.6 dated 3/22/10 Reboot, then install the driver from URL above.  That's version 5.60.18.41dated 10/23/09.So far I'm 2 for 2 with my wireless now working. My guess is HP will need to come out with a new driver to fix this new conflict with WIn7.

Answer:HP Mini 210 Windows 7 32bit Broadcom 4313 wireless fix, mayb...

This is a follow up to my original post. The older version of the Broadcom wireless driver did not fix the problem.  Wireless connection was still intermitent.  Sometimes it would see my home wireless and sometime it would report no wireless available.  I tried various things all weekend. Last night I went into windows update and it said there were two updates to install.  One of them was Microsoft driver update for Realtek RTL8102E/RTL8103E Family PCI-E Fast Ethernet NIC (NDIS 6.20) Well after I did this update all my wireless problems went away.  Perhaps the Realtek driver was clobbering the Broadcom wireless.  I think HP knew there was a problem and got Microsoft to send out update to fix.it.  Just my guess.

All, My employer uses a Wireless LAN with Cisco PEAP authentication and I am occasionally using my Lenovo ideapad S10-2 in the office. The XP driver had no issues with that, I have been using it for some time. Recently, I upgraded the machine to Windows 7 32 Bit and realized that the Wireless LAN driver from the Lenovo website does NOT offer Cisco PEAP as an option -> FAIL.After quite some research, I found the latest driver for that Broadcom chipset (4315?) which is version 5.100.249.2. This driver is now working properly and I can connect to the WLAN again.Questions: why is the driver on the Lenovo website so outdated? Why does neither Lenovo nor Broadcom offer this driver on their website? Is it really necessary to start investigations on the internet to find the latest driver? However, the problem is resolved but I thought I am sharing that information. I don't think I am the only one who is connecting to a WLAN using Cisco PEAP authentication.

I just solved the problem on one of our Latitude E6420. Therefore I setup the Dell ControlVault software for Broadcom devices (you may find them under support > Security, RDYG9). Additionally it was necessary to upgrade the reader into the latest revision (DKKN9).
I hope that helps for you as well.
Best regards
Manuel

Hi,I have a Lenovo G500 windows 8.1 with Broadcom 802.11n network adapter.I cannot get the WLAN to start. The message I get is ?This device cannot start (Code 10)?.I have tried updating the drivers with various different ones. Deleting the device and rebooting to see if it will pick up the correct driver. Doing a system restore. Installing any Windows updates that were outstanding. The thing is the wireless was working fine earlier today, it just seems to have suddenly stopped. When I try to install new drivers I get a message window saying ?Windows found driver software for your device but encountered an error while trying to install it?.Any ideas and help would be greatly appreiciated. One other thing, I did see a similar problem elsewhere on the internet and the advice was in the adapter properties to change the WMM setting to disabled. I did this and it did correct the problem and the WI-Fi started working again for a day or so, but I now seem to be back to square one. The issue is not with the router as all other devices in our household operate fine. I am getting desparate and maybe thinking it could be a hardware fault which might need replacing. I would be grateful for any help anyone could give me please Thanks Steve

Answer:Lenovo G500 Windows 8.1 64bit, Broadcom 802.11n Wireless Adapter "Not Starting"

Hi sjemerton ,

Welcome to the Community Forums.

This device cannot start (Code 10) message is generic and may also indicate possible hardware failure .
Fastest way to isolate software versus hardware issue is doing factory reset but would delete everything and reimage it back the way it was from out of box condition along with appropriate drivers intended for the pc.

Before deciding on a full reset , you can try uninstalling all drivers for the WLAN card from the device manager but before restarting , configure driver update to never  . Install WLAN driver from the website or D:Lenovo/drivers if still available.

After installation , go back to device manager and change properties of the WLAN driver power management tab unchecked , on advance tab with roaming aggresiveness / tendency to highest.

Update us how it goes.

Recent versions of the DW1560 driver have made my system completely unstable due to recurring BSODs which note one of three errors: bcmwl63a.sys, fault in page file, memory management.
I've run checkdisk and Dell's PC doctor app and neither shows an error, I've also done a clean reinstall of Windows 10. Only going back to the 2014 W8.1 driver has worked. Unfortunately, both Dell update and Windows update will continue to attempt to install the new unstable drivers.
This appears to be a widespread issue (see google results for "dell bcmwl63a.sys windows 10". Posting here in the hope of getting an update on this issue, or any info on a better workaround.

Answer:Dell XPS 13 9343 recurring Windows 10 (64 bit) BSOD due to DW1560 broadcom wifi driver (bcmwl63a.sys)

You aren't, by chance, using Hyper-V?  I had this problem as soon as I enabled Hyper-V.  It took a clean install of Windows to fix that particular issue.

I recently upgrade my Y550 from Vista to Windows 7. But there is a problem about the LAN driver for the LAN card which is Broadcom Netlink Gigabyte Controller. I just cannot install the driver properly. I had visited the Lenovo Support Website to download the newest driver. But it does not work. The InstallShield had terminated at the end of every installation. I had tried all methods and even visited the Broadcom website to seek help. Still the problem cannot be solved. I can only use WiFi to connect to the network but not LAN card. I find that the problem is not about the LAN driver because if I give up the upgrade and do a clean Windows 7 installation, the LAN driver work. It only cannot work in the upgraded environment. That is very weired for me. I had called the local Lenovo Technical Support Team, the technician cannot solve the problem either. I suspect the Lenevo Technical Department had ever tried to upgrade the IdeaPad Y550 model to Windows 7 to see if all the new drivers are working properly. I had raised this problem in many local computer forums to see if anyone have any idea about this driver problem. Meanwhile, I can only do a clean Windows 7 installation in order to avoid this problem. However, I have to give up all the bundled software in the IdeaPad. It is ridiculous to see that the LAN driver cannot be installed in the upgrade environment. If any reader has similar problem, please share or you may have a solution

Dear all, I own one Lenovo E430. By now he is running Windows7, fully patched and updated. My issue is related with ultra-high touching sensitivity of the TouchPad. The TouchPad can react even on cloth touch. This is problem for me, because I use TrackPoint, I don't have external keyboard and during high utilization extra unwanted clicks lead to unpredicted events. So, my question is how can I disable the Touchpoint. I've read several articles and there is no working solution for me. Thank for your help in advance !

Answer:Lenovo E430 Touchpad issue

Hi, Tsoch

If you navigate to Control Panel and select Mouse, a window should appear. Within this window, one of the tabs at the top should say UltraNav, if you click on this tab, you should be able to uncheck the box next to Enable TouchPad, which will disable the TouchPad. Click Apply and then OK. The TouchPad should now be disabled.

Best,
Adam

HiI own a Thinkpad E430(type 3254). It's about 14 months old. Yesterday, it randomly started having an issue with it's keyboard. It acts like the enter key is continuously pressed, and about 1 sec after I hit any other key it stops. The enter key by itself has stopped working, and only shorts sometimes and results in a continuous press. As soon as i boot, enter input is given and normal startup gets interrupted. If i press any key, it's normal again until an OS loads. For example, if i boot into debian, line breaks get inserted between the console messages that are displayed until i press a key, and if i boot windows, it gets stuck at the login screen because enter is given without the correct password so it loops. This behavior also happens sometimes randomly while working normally. The keyboard hasn't even seen heavy usage, or any drink spills. I usually keep the laptop at my desk, and use an external keyboard. The last time I took it out was 2 weeks ago.  Has anyone faced this issue before? I doubt it can be a software issue, so do I need a new keyboard? Thanks for the assistance.

Answer:Thinkpad E430 Keyboard Issue

ook so no one knows or no one bothered. anyway, i solved it and i'll leave it here.i called up lenovo's helpline, and they told me to remove ac power and the battery, and then keep the power button pressed for 2x30 seconds. Apparently, that drain static charge on the motherboard. That helped but only for a few minutes. Last night, i drained out the battery to 5% and now the issue is gone. I've recharged to 100% and the system is normal. I don't know what caused this, but it might have something to do with the lenovo power manager, which i recently installed.

Dear Sir,Recently i have purchased E430 3254-T3Q in that i have got 2 Gb of RAM,i wanted  to upgrade it with another 4Gb so i added a 4Gb 1333 Mhz of RAM but the performance of my machine has degaraded it hangs up so many...can u plz tell me the exact cause and solution for this

Answer:RAM ISSUE E430 3254-T3Q machine

Hey there mansoor035,

What are the specs of the 2GB RAM stick you have installed? If you remove it and leave the 4GB do you still encounter hangs? Looking at the parts compatibility matrix the E430 lists the following as lenovo supported options:

2GB PC3-12800 DDR3-1600 SODIMM Memory
4GB PC3-12800 DDR3-1600 SODIMM Memory
8GB PC3-12800 DDR3-1600 SODIMM Memory

From what I can see, typically the E430 ships with DDR3-1600 sticks, so they may be conflicting against each other, and be causing the symptoms you are seeing. If you are able, try a 4GB DDR3-1600 stick. I hope this helps.

Answer:E430 Device Driver Problems

Hey there pmor1945 and welcome to the forums!

To better assist you with what we are looking at, what version of windows are you currently using? Are these problems recent? Do you know if you had any updates to drivers, software or utilities when is started? If you will also provide your machine type and model number, it is a 7 digit alphanumerical code found on the sticker on the underside of your machine.

What we immediately know about Code 19 from Microsoft:

Code 19
Windows cannot start this hardware device because its configuration information (in the registry) is incomplete or damaged. This can occur when more than one service is defined for a device, if there is a failure opening the service subkey, or if the driver name cannot be obtained from the service subkey. To fix this problem you can first try running a Troubleshooting Wizard. If that does not work, you should uninstall and then reinstall the hardware device. (An alternative here is to backup to a previous point on the computer when the error was not occurring.)

Can you help me out with this? Also, are there any other features of the trackpad, such as dual fingers or pinching giving other actions?

Also, these are the number associated with my laptop
Product - MP2C5AN ,  S/N XXXXX, machine type - 3254.

How can I find the 3 character Model Number required here in the 4th step -

Answer:Scrolling issue on trackpad - Edge E430

Hi, Hariharan

I would firstly make sure that the BIOS have been updated. The computer may be new, but sometimes the latest BIOS is not the one installed at the beginning. You can find the latest BIOS here.

I would then go to the Control Panel and select Mouse. There should be a new window with a tab on the right called UltraNav. I would check the settings of the device here and make sure that everything is set as it should be. This section allows you to configure other actions of the TrackPad, such as scrolling, tapping, swiping, etc.

Best of luck, and let me know how it goes
Adam

I just did a fresh install of Windows 7.  I had been using Linux Mint exclusively and want to dual boot.  I installed Windows 7 and I have no ethernet or wireless available.  I've tried installing the drivers located here:  http://support.lenovo.com/us/en/products/laptops-and-netbooks/thinkpad-edge-laptops/thinkpad-edge-e4... They don't seem to do anything.  I've checked in the bios and the internal wireless antenae is turned on.  I also have an install of Linux Mint running on the same system and there are no issues with either ethernet or wireless.  This tells me it's not hardware related.  I also don't have working function keys in Windows.  I can't use the buttons to change screen brightness or toggle the wireless radio.  Could this be related? I'm at a loss.  Any help is appreciated.

Hey Syl4s,

Did you try running System Update and see if it can find your wireless driver update? I know you said you looked and downloaded drivers for your wireless device. I think you are still missing one and a good way to check is under device manager. If you look under networking you will see if any devices are missing drivers with what looks to be yellow triangle with a ! in the middle.

If you want to try to download the drivers for WAN only here is a link:

I have  a Lenovo Thinkpad Edge e430, I bought it this spring. I currently have a wireless card that does 802.11n, but only on the 2.4 GHz frequency. I would like to buy a card that's capable of operating at 5 GHz as well. Is there a list of approved wireless cards for the e430 available online anywhere? Do any of you own an e430 with a 5GHz-capable 802.11n card? I have contacted sales a couple of times regarding this. Apparently the laptop is too new, and they don't have an accurate parts list internally yet. Thanks for your time

Answer:e430 - List of whitelisted wireless cards?

Good day and welcome to the community.

The closest you'll get to a list of 'whitelisted' WLAN / WWAN cards is the FRU parts listing. On page 1, you'll see three entries for WWAN cards with their respective FRU P/Ns.

The first one, 60Y3195, is an Intel Advanced?N WiMAX 6250, as best I can tell. According to Intel's 6250 page, it does 5GHz, and uses a 2x2 antenna configuration. If you opt for one of these, make sure you get a real FRU-labeled part (vs a generic Intel) or you will hit the 1802 boot error. Also, you should make sure that your current antenna configuration will support this card.

The other two are Realtek RTL8188CE-based cards, OEMed by Foxconn and Lite-on, if my Google-fu is working and I've got my abbreviations straight. The Realtek page lists that controller as only being 2.4GHz.

Hope this helps a bit.
Regards.

Hi, I recently bought a 300Mbps Wireless N Router (TP-Link TL-WR841ND), but I only get 72 Mbps speed on my Thinkpad E430 laptop. As far as I read, the 1x1 11b/g/n Wireless LAN PCI Express Half Mini Card Adapter only supports speeds up to 150 Mbps (which would still be ok with me), but instead I get 72 Mbps. I tried to tweak the adapter and router settings, but I had no luck. Do I need to change the Wireless adapter? Is it possible to change it, or should I use an external USB Wireless adapter instead? Thank you!

Answer:Thinkpad Edge E430 Wireless speed only 72Mbps

Hi Tudorc,

Welcome to Lenovo Community Forums!

I would suggest you to check if any other similar device is able to achieve better speeds.

Log to the router's configuration utility by typing its IP address into a browser and change the encryption settings to WPA2 Encryption Only. Choose 40MHz-wide channels in the router?s configuration utility.

Since you are using a 1x1 single-stream card, so a max of 150Mbps is theoretically said to achieve. In addition, you are only on the 2.4GHz band, which is often congested, so you may see lower speeds. The disparity between theoretical and practical Wi-Fi performance comes from network protocol overhead, radio interference, physical obstructions on the line of sight between devices, and distance between devices. Under ideal conditions, actual results for a wireless adapter rated at 150Mbps is perhaps in the range of 50-80Mbps.

Hope this provided enough clarity for your query!

Best regards,
Mithun.

Question: broadcom driver

hello,
my hp pavilion came with broadcom 802.11 b/g wlan. my wireless just like that stoped, now I'm trying to reinstall the driver for it....
where can I find a driver for it? and please if someone knows how to do it right, I don't want to mess up...
Thanks.

Answer:broadcom driver

If you have a Recovery partition and the Recovery Manager installed you can do a repair of the driver. Just follow the prompts, it's pretty fool proof.
OR
Goto HP, input your model on the drivers and support page, and download your driver. There are detailed instructions.

I bought a new Dell laptop and I want to upgrade my old XPS 13 M1330 from Vista to Windows 7.
I ran the Microsoft Upgrade Analysis tool. The results were good, but for Broadcom Netlink Fast Ethernet, the tool said I should go to the device manufacturer's website, download driver, install Windows 7, then install saved driver.
Questions: Does this driver exist on the Dell site? If yes, where can I locate it? Be specific. If not there, how can I find it on Broadcom site? The Broadcom site has drivers, but not a file called Broadcom Netlink Fast Ethernet. Does it have a new name?
Any suggestions or help would be appreciated. Any other upgrade cautions are also welcomed.

Answer:Broadcom Driver Help

IMO you would be better off replacing the vista computer instead of spending $100 on the win 7 upgrade. OR use the vista computer as is until you can replace it. That model should be almost at end of life. It is not worth spending any money on a 9 year old laptop.
You don't normally use ethernet on a laptop. You can add a usb wireless adapter for about $10.

Question: Broadcom Driver

Although everything on my computer appears to be functioning correctly, in 'Devices and Printers' I am advised that 'Broadcom TPM has a driver problem'. When I google this message the driver application seems to be for Win XP - but I am running Win 7 Pro.

Is this important?
If so how do I obtain the correct driver?
The Microsoft correction routine fails to find the correct driver.

I have an acer aspire 5000 laptop which has had a new OS installed. XP PRO was the system installed. The oem disk was never made for this laptop so the XP installation is that of a different install disk. All the drivers where installed from Acer America. All seemed good to go except I am not able to bring up the Broadcom utility from all programs/broadcom utility/open, nothing happens. I have gone into add/remove and all the programs show up, from the modem, broadcom utility Yadda, Yadda, Yadda. The activate button on the front of the laptop has been turned on. It seems as though something is missing just not sure what. I have used Dr Hardware, Everest and SIW for information on what is installed on the laptop, all seems good to go, but believe me it's not. I am diffenitly needing help. Thanks from Donk for any help that may be given.

Hello,I've been experiencing issues with the Broadcom wireless card. I wrote to the assistance many times since when my laptop was in the warranty period but the problem came out again and again... They continued on telling me what to do, always the same procedure, I even told them that this issue wasn't new for the laptop but they always answered with the same things: update the Broadcom drivers, use the automatic troubleshooter, restore the previous status of the system... but this is not called "solving a problem" and my laptop isn't repaired. Now I'm stuck because I'm out of warranty and I don't know what to do, I'd like to receive some help from someone is possible. It happens that the icon at the right-bottom of the screen for the internet connection tells me that there aren't available connections but it's not true: my home Wi-Fi is perfectly running and I didn't turn off the connectivity with the connection button on the keyboard. It's only the Broadcom card that gives this issue, or at least I suppose it because it's always the same problem even updating the drivers. I'd like to have assistance and a definitive solution about it. Thanks in advance.

Hello, I have a HP 240 G4 notebook with a Broadcom BCM43142 802.11 b/g/n 1x1 Wi-Fi + BT4.0 M.2 Combo AdapterThe thing is that it often loses conectivity. I tried to disable and enable several times and it finally work, but this issue repeats with anoying frequence. Ive tried to reinstall the driver, or install a new one, including the sp75249.exe posted by Paul_Tikkanen. The issue remains.  I have been thinking if this is a defective wireless adapter or if it is a OS problem. Anyway, please if someone has had the same issue and solved it, give me a hand. Oh, also, the notebook is still in warranty period, so going under the hood is not an option, yet ;-) Thanks in advance.

Sir, i'm having some issues with my laptop's wireless driver. Sometimes my laptop cannot find some wifi router's signals even if i have saved that specific wifi's password saved on my laptop and others are using that wifi same at my location. Sometimes it disconnects. There was no such kind of issue when i used linux on my laptop. So, i suppose there is some issue of wifi driver. I tried by uninstalling the driver and installing it from  device manager but the situation is same. Kindly give me the link for win 8.1 and 10 (64-bit) wifi driver Thank you!
