Digitizer PEN ?

Question: Digitizer PEN ?

Hi, I have a ThinkPad model SL410 and wonder if it supports a digitaizer pen that would data input instead of a keyboard (input). Have looked at the Lenovo's specs for SL410. It did not come across as such. But it seems that pen input technology should be picking up now.... idea / thoughts / info / pointer ? Thanks.

Preferred Solution: Digitizer PEN ?

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Answer: Digitizer PEN ?

Hi,I've been using a Wacom Intuos3 tablet (digitizer tablet/pen/mouse) with my Thinkpad SL300 (Vista Business) for over six months, and I have yet to encounter any issues with the hardware, software, or drivers. Even when alternating between the pen and Microsoft wireless keyboard and mouse accessories, my computer has yet to slow down or shut down on me. The Tablet PC Input Panel of Windows XP/Vista/7 makes the pen work with pretty much any application for more info, go here: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms818563.aspx .I recommend checking out Wacom's website to see what kinds of requirements exist for some of the products out on the market now ( http://www.wacom.com/index2.php ). I hope that this helps! Good luck! -Meg

Question: X60 Digitizer Pen

I have posted before about my recently acquired X60T having a gap all round between the screen and the bezel. This is making me very, very nervous about the use of the pen with Windows 8, because of the sharp glass edge that the pen needs to move across. The pen that came with the machine has no Lenovo part number, but it seems to work well. I ordered a cheap spare pen with spare nibs from ebay. It also has no part number, although the advert said"IBM LENOVO ThinkPad X60 X61 X200 X201 W700 Tablet Digitizer STYLUS PEN 39T7481" The pen shown in the advert has a grey piece at the rubber (as opposed to the nib) end, as does the pen that came with the tablet, but the ebay pen that came has a red rubber end. When I move this pen round on the screen, a spot moves under it, and it highlights things, but I cannot make it click anything. Similarly it won't draw in Paint like the older pen. Is it faulty, or is it a different type of pen? I am trying a possible fix found elsewhere on the net, of removing the nib and lying it on its side for 24 hours. What I really need to know id whether I need to replace the screen bezel or whether there is some magic gunge i can use to fill the gap.

The pen supplier hasn't yet replied, although it's early days, and thescreen bezel is still a problem. An additional slightly odd problem is that the Windows 8 pen calibration utility seems to throw the pen calibration off rather than improve it. I am holding the pen vertical to do this. Do I have to accept that pen actions are flaky with an older machine like this and Win8. The machine is otherwise extremely good for doing what I want - controlling a graphics intensive audio program - and seems far more suitable than my son's newish touch screen Acer Win8 converible device.

Hi there, I have an X61 tablet, 7767 A4U, and want to buy a new digitizer pen. I come to ask if I can use a X41 or any other digitizer in my touch-laptop? By the way, can I make my screen finger-touchable, just through updating the software? My computer is only penable now, not for finger-touch. Thanks.Xiaodong

Answer:What digitizer can I use?

i believe an x41 pen will work but it probably won't fit in your holder and the eraser won't work. a gateway m275 pen will also work but again no eraser and it probably won't fit the holder.  i'm using an x41 pen in a gateway m275 tablet and it works fine. check in device manager under human interface devices and see if there is anything listed like, touch panel driver or HID-wacf008 or Gunze. not all x61's came with multi-touch screens.  from what i understand the viewing quality of the multi-touch is less than the pen version. probably because of the extra layer on the screen.  if you had multi-touch it would respond to your finger.

Question: digitizer pen

I have just recently bought an i7 Lenovo Yoga pro 2. As many of you may know, it does not come with a digitizer pen. I would like to purchase one but I am not sure what to get. Please help me with suggestions.

Answer:digitizer pen

Good afternoon and welcome to the community.

The Yoga 2 Pro doesn't have a digitizer. The panel is 10-finger capacitive touch. That said, there are a number of capacitive stylii available, but I don't have experience with them , so I can't offer a recommendation.

Hopefully other members will join the discussion with their experiences that will aid your decision.

Cheers.

thinkvantage toolbox...it shouldve came preinstalled in your system. you can check support.lenovo.com and look at the driver downloads, however, im not sure if they phased out that program. the program that the guy was using on youtube is called windows journal. but other programs that you can directly write on are outlook office (however, only outlook to outlook office users can see each others drawings), microsoft office one note, microsoft word, and grahl pdf annotator. personally, i use grahl pdf annotator and one note the most for school

Hello all.Sorry if this has been covered elswhere, but I couldn't find info on it anywhere. Does anyone know, if I order a W700 with just the pantone calibrator and fingerprint scanner, and NOT the wacom digitizer, will it still have an 'empty/non-functioning' digitizer section as part of the case, and a hole in the side for the pen? I already own a full size tablet which I'll be using with the machine, and I'd find it aesthetically annoying to still have the non functioning parts built into the case. I'd appreciate any info, especially any links to pics of w700 models without digitiser sections in the case (if they exist)Thanks alot.jesse.

Answer:W700 Without Digitizer

I do not know Lenovos manufacturing practices, I am expecting delivey of my first lenovo, a w700ds very soon!! But according to the thinkpad w700/w700ds hardware maintenance manual (downloadable from the lenovo website), there is 3 specific part numbers for,... 44C9504 - Palm rest assembly with fingerprint reader44C9505 - Palm rest assembly with fingerprint reader and color sensor44C9506 - Palm rest assembly with fingerprint reader, colorsensor, and digitizerSo as a very good guess, I would expect Lenovo to configure your machine without a redundant digitizer. Especially since they are known for build quality. I hope this helps, argh

Hello, my Lenovo yoga 13 display is broken (just digitizer, not the whole display, LCD and everything other inside is ok) and I'm looking for new. On ebay and other public stores, I found only whole display or lot of digitizers for yoga 11 but not for 13. Is there another way how to get new digitizer without buying the whole display? On repair service, they want 11 000 CZK (about 650$) for replacement but they want to replace the whole display, which is not necessary in my case. Thanks to all for reply

Lenovo spare parts are available through IBM in Europe. There is no online store in Italy, but there is a phone sales line. I checked the French online store and the pens are available (part 39T7303).

Can someone help please?Online Shop One pcs High Quality Black Outer Front Glass Lens Repair Parts For Nokia Lumia 730 LCD Screen Digitizer Pannel Replacement+Tools|Aliexpress Mobile

Answer:Replacing my 730's digitizer

There is a connector on the top right hand side.(the picture in the link you provided)
are you replacing it by yourself ? (better get it done by a professional)
because its not that easy.
the display and the touch panel is a single unit, glued on by Liquid Optically Clear Adhesive.
In the OEM version display and touchpanel comes as a single unit.
However if you manage to seperate the display and touchpanel you can use what you showed in the link.
I know this because ive had the same experience with my Nexus 7 . I ended up replacing the whole display unit.
Make sure you get the OEM one, because it is uncertain that other touchpanels available online are guaranteed to work properly, with your device.
The best option is to get it to a mobile repair shop if you have one nearby, they will get it working for you.

Just to be clear, this is the laptop that I have. I need a pen for it. Any pen at all. Does one exist? Every single pen I've found, people say it doesn't work with this specific laptop. I have friends with lenovo laptops and I've tried their pens on mine and it doesn't work. My finger works fine, but I can't take notes in class like that. I have a pen that works on my iPad, but I don't really like it. I tried it on the Yoga, and it did work, but it was downright terrible. It only picked up about half the time. Lenovo has a thinkpad yoga pen on their website, but I'm quite positive that won't work with this model. So is there anywhere I can a suitable pen? Thanks.

Answer:Yoga 3 14 Digitizer Pen

The yoga 3 14 does NOT have a digitizer layer under the LCD panel. Which means NO digitizer pen will ever work with it. Trust me, im typing from my yoga 3 14 now. The 14" Thinkpad yoga does however suppport pen input. Your only option for a pen is one of those capacative pens with a rubber tip.

Question: Yoga 910 Digitizer

I bought a Yoga 910, as I found out, it doesn't support active pens.  I see on a few sites they sell the display assembly.  https://www.amazon.com/910-14IKB-910-14ISK-Digitizer-Display-Assembly/dp/B071JV7R17 I wanted to know are these screens legit?  It was marketed without active support, but do they sell the screens with the digitizers in them seperately now?

That just looks like a replacement screen for the 910, no different to the one that comes with the laptop - it doesn't have a pen digitizer.

It depends on where it is stuck.  Sometimes you can separate the keyboard bezel from the lower case, just slightly, and the pen will come out.  You can also use tweezers to see if you can grap the pen clip and pull it out.

Hallo, I own a x61tablet with 223 days of warranty left.A few weeks ago the "right-click" button on my digitizer pen broke and is probably still stuck inside the pen holder device.I couldn't verify this because I do not want to open it myself due to the warranty restrictions. However the drop-out mechanism of the penholder does still hold the pen but won't release is properly. Now there is a possibility, that the "right-click" button got lost a long time ago and that the created gap on the pen is responsible for the jam inside the holder. Is there a way to just get the pen fixed without sending in the whole tablet?I need it every day.

Hi all,I've the Lenovo Thinkpad W701 with Windows 8.1. I installed the current driver (from 2010!!) for Windows 7 and everything works fine for some years. But now I bought a new Wacom Intuos Pro. After installation of this drivers, the driver of the internal W701-digitizer crashes. Another problem of the internal W701-Digitizer:The work with current Adobe Cloud-products makes lot of problems: Photoshop CC uses the pen only with special tricks and Illustrator CC always crashes if the internal Wacom-driver is installed. At office it's no problem - here I use the external newer Wacom Intuos. But when travelling, the internal digitizer was a very nice function, which now doesn't work at my W701 since I installed the Intuos-Driver (I had to uninstall it, because it crashes evry time and it wasn't possible to start Adobe Illustrator, which has a problem with this old driver). So I think, the driver from 2010 is too old and didn't really work under Windows 8.1, has conflicts with newer Wacom-tablets and didn't support current functionality like WIndows Ink (which is necessary for Photoshop and Illustrator). Therefore my question:Did anybody know, if there are actual drivers othe then the official offered Lenovo-Driver for the W701-digitizer? Has anybody other also problems, running the internal W701-digitizer from Wacom together with newer Wacom-Tablets? Thanks al lot,Klaus

Answer:Wacom Digitizer on W701 and Win 8.1

Thanks to the very good service of Wacom, I've a very good solution:  You can download a current driver underhttp://www.wacom.eu/index4.asp?pid=9278&lang=deThis driver works with the Thinkpad W701 digitizer and supports also all current requirements used by adobe. Using this driver, you can additionally work with another Wacom-tablet (tested: The Intuos Pro) and Adobe Illustrator starts and all Adobe CC-products (Photoshop, Illustrator) are working very good with both digitizers: The Intuos AND the internal W701 Wacom digitizer. My question: Why doesn't Lenovo also support this good solution on it's driver-site?

I mistakenly bought my Thinkpad Yoga thinking that it had a digitizer included because it was a 1920x1080 screen, and there is no option available for it on the website to have a FHD screen and no digitizer. I bought refurbished from a 3rd party unfortunately, so returning it more trouble than it is worth. Is it possible to send into Lenovo for service to get a screen with a digitizer installed or is the digitizer actually dependent on the motherboard it ships with? If lenovo wouldn't do it and it is possible, I would definitely wait to buy a part on ebay and do it myself. Very disaapointing why they would have any model without a digitizer, it is absolutely useless as a tablet without it. :-(

Answer:Can you switch monitors to one with a digitizer?

Lenovo can't swap your parts and upgrade it to the digitiser enabled version. So you have to do it on your own, or find third parties to do it for you. The digitiser support is not dependent on the motherboard. It is dependent on the LCD you install (digitiser layer is directly bonded to the LCD). I haven't done the upgrade myself. From the look of things, you need the FHD with digitiser, a new backcover (19.4 mm), a new display cable with digitiser support, a new hinge kit, etc. There could be more parts.http://download.lenovo.com/parts/ThinkPad/yoga_fru_bom_20131107.pdfhttp://support.lenovo.com/en_AU/detail.page?DocID=UM019563

This is an odd one, I think: I was given an X220 tablet/laptop, which was missing its pen (or stylus), so I bought one that was supposedly matched to the X220, the stylus having the part number: 41u3143. The red plastic point of the stylus is detected at a distance of approx. one inch from the surface of the monitor screen, rendering it useless for any practical purpose. Do I simply have the wrong stylus here, or is there a sensitivity setting I can adjust to prevent it being detected before it actually touches the screen?

Can some one please explain how one uses the Wacom digitizer (I think a drawing tablet althou, as I understand it, you don't draw on the LCD screen) and why or what's it's purpose?  Also, what is the purpose of the calibration and is it used in conjunction with the digitizer and, if so, how? As you can see, I don't really understand the above but I really like the 17" screen and I've had two Thinkpads in the past and love them.  Many thanks in advance. Al

Answer:W700 digitizer and calibration

I have to say, Lenovo really did well with the W700. The build quality is not as good as I expected - seems all thinkpads have gone down on this measurement - but the addition of a proper, quad core mobile workstation to the thinkpad line is very welcome. The calibrator is seperate from the tablet, it measures the screen colours and calibrates accordingly, just like full monitor calibrators. The graphics tablet is a Wacom tablet, a popular drawing tablet used by artists and designers, but built into the palmrest. It is not really for general handwriting like the screen is on a tablet pc. Really, if you have never used these features before, you're unlikely to need them now, so just configure them out when ordering - though the calibrator is cheap enough to keep.

My ThinkPad W700 has some proprietary Lenovo software called the "Digitizer Activity Monitor."  I'm trying to figure out what this program does and whether it is necessary or desireable to keep it.  I'd like to remove it if it's not somtething I need because it  hogs such a large percentage of CPU resources.  It always uses at least 25% of my total CPU capacity and sometimes much more.

Answer:Digitizer Activity Monitor-Is it necessary?

Do you have the palmrest digitizer? If not, uninstall it. If so, make sure it's the latest version. If you don't plan on using it, you might consider uninstalling it as well.

I don't think it using 25% CPU is proper in any case.

I'm curious as to why the T410s has a driver for a digitizer.   (Windows 7 64-bit, released 4/26/2010)http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/document.do?lndocid=MIGR-73771 I read some of the forums and people stated that the T410s does not support the digitizer pen (at least one thread from this forum).  Does this mean that the hardware supports it but there was no driver available at the time? Or is this feature going to be available only to future hardware specs?

Answer:Digitizer Driver for T410s?

I did a little more research and it looks like N-trig makes 2 other types of "pen" (n-trig duosense) for touchscreen.  One is a "electrostatic" pen that's not battery operated.  The other type is the "pencil" (battery operated, AAAA). Currently I've only seen the pen version and I dont see it sold by retailers at this time.  I'm not sure if the digitizer pen sold by lenovo is the electrostatic type.  The only place I've seen this pen is at Dell (the one that came with their XT tablet) and it looks like HP does as well.  Fairly recent technology...

hello fellow thinkpad enthusiasts... is anyone else having issues with dust showing up behind your lcd's touchscreen? i am having major issues here... i am also on my fourth replacement screen and from what i have noticed they all have been having this problem, and i am very upset because this looks to be a quality control as well as a design flaw... my first two screens appeared to be brand new and the other two were field service units which im guessing are factory serviced refurbs... just to test i actually kept all 4 and compared them side by side [i should have taken pics, sorry] and they all have had some specs of dust located in the layer between the digitizer and lcd. i am pretty savy and have worked on many different thinkpad models so i am comfortable with servicing my own unit, i have the maxed out i7 / 8gb ram/ 256ssd and i even have the WWAN card with the touch model.. it fits you just need either the antennas and you can run them in the screen yourself which is a pain or you can just get the multi-touch lcd with the antennas already ran from the factory, there are two different fru part #'s for the multi-touch lcd one with WWAN and one with out. i paid for the 3yr on site + battery replacement warranty and lenovo is pretty fast and good about me placing fru's and i must say i am pleased with their customer service outside of my enterprise experience with them in the past 6 years or so. i am just really upset i absolutely love this device... Dust specs within the layers of the LCD are a fairly common problem. You'll have to get Lenovo to replace the panel.

For some odd reason, I have always desired an active digitizer.  I am not an artist or someone who enjoys drawing or using paint programs.  I am not a doctor or shop foreman who would benefit from being able to write on a tablet as I walk around.  I am honestly never in a situation where I cannot type. And let's face it folks, typing is way way way better than writing.  I can type faster than I write, I can search on what I have typed more accurately, I can read what I have typed a month from now (my handwriting is pretty awful), I barely have to think to type (handwriting takes concentration) and I can copy what I have typed and paste it into other programs.  If I really really need to handwrite something I can use a simple stylus - not great but it works. So WHY do I crave an active digitizer so much so that I have seriously considered trading my Y2P in for a Viao Flip which other than the digitizer is an inferior machine in every way?  It is silly and yet it is there nagging at me.  I could get a Thinkpad Yoga but it is close to $500 more for a similar configuration and I get a worse screen and heavier machine. Does anyone else suffer over this as much as I do?  It is just so silly.  I have owned a Note 10.1, a Note 2 and a Surface Pro, all with the idea I would use the pen and guess what?  Never used it.  Why? Because my handwriting sucks and typing is better. Oh well, would have been nice if Lenov... Read more

Answer:Is having an active digitizer really worth it?

A digitizer display is sensitive to pressure as well I believe. Which makes it suitable for accurate work.Get the ThinkPad Yoga, no doubt. It's a very good machine. It is Full HD yes, maybe worse than QHD, but honestly you will not notice the difference. It will still be as sharp and as clear as on the Yoga 2 Pro.And you never know when you will use a pen. Using a pen can make you work more accurately with the touchscreen in certain occasions. All I can say is get the ThinkPad Yoga, see for yourself if you use the digitizer pen. You will never know if you haven't tried it. But the ThinkPad Yoga is a machine worth buying.

I have a cracked screen on Yoga 2 13  and i am thinking to replace it. Since warranty is not working I contacted the service centre and they offered the replacment for the price of new laptop. So I said thanks either I will use as it is or find cheaper.  So please help me find the cheaper one which the most importantly fits to my one. I bought it in China (but not there anymore) and as I see the whole screen no. is 73048979. Also it issaid on paper  "13,3 FHD LED TS". I find part no. like B133HAT02.0   or LP133WF2 SP A1. But not the previous one. Can you help with finding the right one. Hello,I experience a problem with pressure sensitivity on my X201. When I move pen very close to the screen I get a line drawing or a click, though I don't touch the screen. If it is a pen issue it is a very ubiquitous one. I've tried a pen from HP tm2, and I bought myself an Axiotron Studio Pen (UP-911-E) both of them have the same behaviour. Also I tried to remove nib from the pen, and move it around -- I got strokes. With original Lenovo pen and Axiotron one. Moreover I checked pressure values (in Linux), and pressuer is almost linearly related to distance from the screen (and that's with the nib out). In Wacom Forum I got this answer: The tablet should report pressure only when you touch it with the pen. There is some calibration needed, but that should be done during production. Perhaps it could be corrected with a firmware update from Lenovo. So I want to request a firmware update. Could you give me a hint on how I do it? or where can I get one? Thank you.

Hi,I just purchased my Thinkpad x201 tablet notebook. I have Windows 7, and I also installed the appropriate Wacom driver to support pressure sensitivity (which by the way works perfectly).  My problem is that after several exact calibrations, the cursor is always a bit off relative to the tip of the pen. In the center part of the screen this difference is extremely small, but approaching either one of the edges it becomes larger.  Beforehand, I didn't think this would be a problem, but later on I realized it makes operations much harder. E. g. graphics, photo editing, which need precise movements. If there's anything else that I could tell you, please ask. Any ideas would be appreciated.Thanks.

There's woefully little information regarding compatibility between the x60t, x41t, and the x200t in terms of digitizer pen compatibility.  I'm trying to replace the pen for my x200t and the only one I can find is specified as a pen for the x60t.  Will it fit/snap into my x200t pen slot?  Does it have the erase function and the auxiliary button? Thanks for your time.

Hello all, I just received a refurbished ThinkPad S1 Yoga from the Lenovo outlet store, and have a problem with the digitizer. When using the pen, there is a zone about 3/4 inch from the top edge of the screen (in laptop mode) where the cursor fails to track properly. When approaching this line from below, the cursor will hover just below the tip of the pen, and then as this line is passed the cursor rapidly accelerates 2-3 milllimeters upwards relative to the pen's tip. I used a ruler to draw some straight lines in fresh paint, highlighting the resulting problem: I've talked with tech support and updated all my drivers and firmware, tried every calibration trick I could find on the web (default, 25 point Wacom, as well as the 100+ point calibration trick), and also tried running the calibration in all orientations - the problem always shows up in the same edge of the screen. At this point I assume that I have a bad digitizer and will need to send the unit in for repair, but figured I should check here before doing so. EDIT: I am still using the included stylus. Is it worth trying to track down a replacement stylus to rule that out as the source of the problem? It would be easy enough, but I can't for the life of me figure out how a defective stylus would result in this behavior.  Thanks for any thoughts

Answer:New S1Yoga Digitizer Woes

This is fairly well documented behavior of Wacom tablets. The extra EM interference near the edges causes erratic behavior. The 100+ point calibration trick helps, but you'll need to adjust the parameters on lincal to add much denser points near the problematic edge.

I've seen several threads about this issue, but none that address my specific concern.

I have a ThinkPad Yoga 14. It did not come with a digitizer pen included. However, I suspect that the screen does in fact have a Wacom digitizer layer. My rationale is this:

My computer came pre-installed with the Wacom Pen Calibration Software
Device Manager reports the following HID devices:-- HID-compliant digitizer-- HID-compliant pen-- Wacom Device
When I run the Wacom Hardware Check (available here), it reports "You have hardware compatible with the Wacom FEEL driver."
All of the 20DM008 models listed at http://psref.lenovo.com/Product/179 support the active pen (I cannot find the 20DM008U++ model there for some reason)

However, the computer will not recognize the ThinkPad digitizer pen I purchased.

So, I suppose I have three questions:

Am I just misinterpreting what I am seeing in the Device Manager?
Is it possible that Lenovo installs the Wacom screen on all it's tablets, but disables them somehow on models not marketed as digitizer ready?
If so, is there any way for me to enable my screen to allow for digitizer use?

Good day.

Looking at the models that support pen at the PSREF link you included, please notice that it specifies "Active Pen". This is not the same as the ThinkPad Digitizer Pen. That's why it won't work for you.

You need the newer, AAAA battery-powered Active Pen. Apologies, but I don't have a link for it.

For what I know (I may be wrong) the Pen Pro uses Wacom technology, it has a battery inside. I found it very nice with a nice size... but it depends on personal taste.

Can you post the full model number of the computer you want to check it will work with the pen?
I know that the Thinkpad Pen Pro web page may not say much. So, what I saw it was recomended on this forum was:
1) Check your computer model against the PSRef Books: http://psref.lenovo.com/
See if your model is listed with "Active Pen" support.

2) There is more information about the Thinkpad Pen Pro here: https://support.lenovo.com/us/en/documents/acc100178

There is also the Thinkpad Yoga Pen , but I don't have experience with that one, some amazon review says it does not have batteries and it focus for replacement for Thinkpad Yoga that came with pen... but I don't know.

Hi there, I hope you know why it is important as user of a tablet pc to have a good accuracy at writing and touching on your display. So this is why I am asking myself why is it impossible to calibrate digiziter and touchscreen under Windows 7 so it fits our needs as customer? It is not acceptable that the cursor moves more than 3mm from the position of the digitizer. The calibration tool integrated in Windows 7 is just poor. I get distances between cursor and digitizer up to 2cm when I use it!When I use the Wacom driver the calibration is way more useful but the driver itself isn't. So it is not an alternative to the Lenovo Enhanced Multitouch Driver. As you can see on this blog it is possible to use the calibration tool with another grid so you get a much better calibration. But up to now I am not able to find a way to use this also for calibrating the digitizer. Hey Lenovo, what about to improve the calibration on Windows 7? You would help many many many of your customers. I love my ThinkPad X200t. For me it's the best notebook I could find for my money. Especially for the reason that I use my ThinkPad for artwork I need a very good calibration.

Answer:Calibration of Digitizer and Touchscreen

Is there anything I can do about this besides buying a new one? I've read other forums online and this seems to be the only resolution. About an inch from the screen the pen is detected and it is as if the left click is permanently on so on the desktop it creates bounding boxes or when writing in onenote or anywhere else it starts to write without touching the screen also because left click is permanently on one tap one click or two taps two click does not work either. Otherwise very satisfied with the laptop, just feels quality, typing is nice and silent will be great for the small classes I'm in.

I have a x230 Tablet.  When I upgraded to Windows 8 the digitizer pen stopped working.  I've seen a similar issue posted for someone that had the problem with an x220.  The solution was to use the Wacom driver for a PC tablet for windows 7.  I tried that but I get a message on installation that a supported tablet was not found.  Interestingly, upon installation of Windows 8, my WWAN card (internal) also "disappeared".  Tech support has been unable to help.  Any suggestions would be most appreciated. Thanks

Since no one has responded yet, I'll give it a stab in the dark....   Re-download the driver from here: http://cdn.wacom.com/U/drivers/TabletPC/ISD_DualTouch_710-8.zip That's from the Wacom site "Americas region" then support/drivers then tablet pc then Windows 8.... Try that, hopefully you don't get the same install error.  It's same as the Win 7 driver they released in Oct 2012 but perhaps a fresh download, and some certainty that you have specifically the right file might help...  Also, inside that zip package should be another .zip file with a slightly newer version number that you can extract and install instead...

I've found a nice combo to make the infamous digitizer on the X220T behave a bit better. This will also enable pressure sensitivity in Adobe programs. It will only apply to one screen orientation at a time. I've updated to the P0006 firmware using Lenovo's firmware update utility. I have a X220T and just updated my firmware, downloaded from Lenovo website, now I have an issue. When the screen is in "regular" laptop position, the digitizer works fine. However, when I rotate my screen and fold to tablet mode the digitizer seems to be inverted on landscape (battery as top) and not working remotely correctly in any portrait mode. However It will work fine in tablet mode when screen is rotated to secondary landscape (camera as top). Are there setting I can go to to fix this problem?

Answer:X220T Digitizer Issue

Hi! I just got a Thinkpad Yoga, 12.5 inch display, HD resolution, and I was wondering if I had a Wacom digitizer in my model, because a lot of posts were saying to look for the HID-compliant touch screen, which I found in my device manager: Also, Wacom Pen was preinstalled on my computer, but the pen slot seems to be plugged up, the same way as the ones on the models that don't have the digitizer, and my model is HD and not FHD.  My model number is 20DLCTO1WW

Answer:Is there a Wacom digitizer in my device?

Good day and welcome to the community.

I don't know why you're seeing the Wacom device in DevMgr, but looking at the system configurator on the sales page indicate that pen capability only comes with the upgrade FHD display option. The default HD display option is multitouch, only.

Hope this helps to clarify a bit.
Regards.

I'm looking for the part number for the glass/digitizer portion of the display for a 17-G series notebook.  The complete display PN is 809300-001.  My LCD appears to be working just fine.   Partsurfer got me this far.

Answer:HP Pavilion Notebook digitizer PN

Hi,It is not spared separately. Touch screen display comes as whole assembly.Manual: http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c04655126You try your luck by searching part number online and see if any seller is sparing it separately. No gaurantee that it would work. Confirm with seller genuineness and part.RegardsVisruth

Hi, After working out that my laptop (Thinkpad Yoga S1) most likely has a digitizer, I purchased a pen for it. However, since I wasn't 100% sure, I bought a cheaper, off-brand pen that people said was compatible, the listing for which can be found here. I received it today, but my computer seems unresponsive when I try to use it. When I went to Wacom Pen or Pen and Touch Input, the pen calibration screens were either blank (Wacom) or didn't load (Input). Is there something else I have to do to make my pen work? Did I purchase the wrong pen? If it helps, the pen slot on my computer is still plugged; I was going to unplug it, but to do so I'd have to remove the back paneling, and one of the screws keeping it in place has been stripped. The thread confirming that my laptop has a digitizer is here. Thanks!

Answer:Thinkpad Yoga digitizer pen

Hi

Please notice that this is my personal opinon and it does not mean I'm 100% right, this is based on my experience.

I think that the "Digitizer PEN for Lenovo ThinkPad X60 X61 X200 X201" is for older Thinkpad models. I have a Thinkpad Yoga 14 (Similar to S1) (20DM008UUS) and it has a digitizer screen, but it requires an "active pen" (with batteries inside) to be able to work with the digitizer.

I have the Thinkpad Pen Pro and it works fine with my model. I still think you have a digitizer on your laptop but I think it is the wrong pen.

Here it also some more info about the pen that Amy wrote.

Regards.

I am trying to establish if the Lenovo Ideacentre AIO 300 (Desktop) has any digitizer pen (like a stylus pen) that I can use to do delicate graphics like free hand drawing directly on the display screen. Anyone know of anything please let me know.

I recently purchased the digitizer jr. ver 4.0 with the understanding it would export / save files in .DST. I am stumped. I have read all documents from the company and cannot get this to program to save in .dst format. Please let me know if I need to ball this program up and move on or if this will work.

Thanks.

Answer:Solved: Digitizer Jr. Ver 4.0 Help convert jef to DST

I'm not sure, but I doubt that Janome's software will save (convert) to a dst.
I can convert a Janome jef file to a dst for you if that will help

This seems to be a topic that is beating a dead horse, but I have yet to find a definite answer, so forgive me.I am currently on the market for a Yoga,  and it's come down to the Yoga Pro 2 vs the ThinkPad Yoga. I have found a model which seems to suit all my needs but I am unsure if it has a digitizer which supports the pen. From what I have read, it doesn't include the pen, but some sources say you can buy a pen and use it on the screen while others just do not mention it. The model in question is: S1 12.5" with the i5 and 500GB HDD and 16GB SDD. Model #  20CD00CHUS. Beyond this, is there an easy rule of thumb to see which TPY have the digitizer? Thanks, and sorry agan for the overly redundant question.

Answer:Which TPY models have digitizer support?

Good day and welcome to the community.

Searching for that MT-M on the support site yields:
ThinkPad Yoga 20CD00CHUS
i5-4200U(2.6GHz), 4GB RAM, 500GB 7200rpm HD, 11.6in 1366x768 LCD, Wireless Option, Bluetooth, Intel HD Graphics, UltraNav, Secure Chip, 8c Li-Poly, Win8 Pro 64

IIRC, no 1366x768 LCD models were equipped with a digitizer. That was an option only with the FHD panels.

Looking at the PSREF: http://psref.lenovo.com/Product/91 bears this out. A quick scan of the table show the 1366x768 models as multitouch, but without digitizer pen support. The specific model above is down near the bottom of the listing.

Hope this helps.
Regards.

I only noticed this problem recently. My Helix was updated to Windows 10 in January and there were no issues with the digitizer until recently. It isn't recognised at all on the screen but the touch feature still works. I don't recal the pen being damaged at all and worked perfectly in the past. Anyone have any advice on how to go about checking if the digitzer is unrecognised on my laptop or is genuinley broken?

Hi I have hp laptop with following properties: Natural Silver 13.3" pavillion x360 13 s194nr convertible laptop with 6th gen core i5 processor, 6 GB of ram, touchscreen 500 GB hard drive and windows 10. recently my touchscreen digitizer has been broken and I had such a hard time to work with my laptop. I want to replace my broken digitizer by the new one, but unfortunately I couldn't find any web site providing me a link to buy a digitizer, although I searched a lot. I lived in Pakistan and needed it within reasonable time. So, I just wanted to know if there is anyone here knows how to buy a digitizer for Natural Silver 13.3" pavillion x360 13 s194nr convertible laptop?

Answer:Where can I buy a touch screen digitizer for hp?

Hi, Thank you for visiting the HP Forums! A great place where you can find solutions for your issues with help from the community! I have gone through your issue of touchscreen digitizer has been broken. So there are Two option: 1.  If your product is under warranty then contact HP call center and asking for that hardware replacement in HP service center. So hp executive will help you as needed. Also you can call if it's out of warranty and want to fix it. 2. You can purchase online also , as few online sellers are selling that product and fix it on your own. I would recomend the option 1. Hope this will help. Thanks.  ****Click the White Kudos star to say thanks********Please mark Accept As Solution if it solves your problem****

Hello, I'd like to know if the Yoga 520 offers an active digitizer making the use of an active pen possible. Not a passive/capacitive one, but an ACTIVE one. I've recently bought a notebook which said it had support for active pens and ended up with a touchscreen instead which offers capacitive pen support only. I aim to use Staffpad with it so if I could be informed of it's compatibility with the app that'd be better.

Hello All,I have purchased a x220t and love it. It is a dream come true for graphic designers. However, I have one burning question.... How do I assign the Hand Tool (H) to the button on the digitizer?! I have another wacom tablet that came with a digitizer with two buttons, and one of them is automatically assigned to the Hand Tool, which makes working in photoshop and illustrator incredibly easy. It would especially be handy with the x220t as you loose access to the physical keyboard when it's in tablet mode. (As a side suggestion, buying a cheap, small compact keyboard increases functionality and effeciency tenfold when working in tablet mode, obviously) Currently, the button is keyed as the right click. Sorta useful, but not really. It would be much more effecient to have it as the hand tool. How do I do this?????! Thanks!-FleetCommander
