I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hey, I'm such a dumb-butt. I wanted a pic on my desktop and so I downloaded this deal from a site and know it's this little bitty pic in the upper right-hand corner of my desktop. I right-click and get the display properties -- it comes up with a little window entitled "active...with window text below". HOWEVER, I can't get rid of it. I still have my regular desktop picture, it's just overlaid in the corner....grrrrrr. I can't find where it's stored on my hard drive either, probably something temporary ... who knows. Oh I'm so upset with myself cuz I know better than to d/l B.S.!

ANY help whatsoever would be greatly appreciated!

I am really stuck on what to do here.

My first problem is that when I open some games, the screen is off center and there is a large black bar at the bottom of the screen and the top of the game screen is not visible. When I change the screen resolution or just the resoultion or window for the game to run in, it does not make a difference. After searching for a long, long time, I came to the conclusion that perhaps the driver for my video card needs to be updated. I have no idea what my video card is so I was trying to find out. Now to my current problem...

When I right click the desktop to bring up the Display Properties and click on the Settings tab... when I try to click the Advanced button to bring up the properties for the monitor and video adapter, I get a Windows Error Message that reads:

Run a DLL as an App has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.

and it refers to AppName: rundll32.exe. So I have NO idea what is going on here. I'll be the first to admit that I do not know anything about programming computers so I would appreciate any help or idea from anybody. I thank you in advance for you help!

I have a new video card...and I am quite often tweaking its settings in advanced display properties...I have to right click an empty area of the desktop, then select properties, then select the settings tab, then select advanced and finally select Geforce 6800 GS...I want a shortcut to this...I know it's probably simple, but I have not found it. I do not want a program running in the taskbar for it...just a clickable shortcut.

Answer:Can I make a shortcut to my advanced display properties?

There should be a setting in there to "Display the Nvidia settings icon in the taskbar" I have that on my work computer and at home on my ATI card. There should be a checkbox for that somewhere in your advaced settings.

Hello

I reinstalled my Toshiba Satellite L850 notebook with older Windows 7. I installed also all the drivers necessary. After I installed display driver in device manager under Display adapetrs I see message that adapter is not functioning properly because system is unable to load drivers.

On Win7 there is also SP1 installed. I cannot see why drivers are not loaded properly. Does anybody have any idea about what could be wrong ?

Thanks, Mateja

Answer:Satellite L850-1HR and Win7- unable to Install Display Driver

Hi

The Satellite L850-1HR is equipped with an ATI Radeon HD 7670M graphic chip
I assume the ATI driver is not installed properly.

On the Toshiba EU driver page especially in Satellite L850 PSKG8E download area I could not find the Win 7 AT driver.
But I checked drivers available for all L850 series and I found AMD display drivers.

You should do this too?. Choose Satellite L850 series (in short model no choose All) in the driver download form and you will get all available drivers for Win 7 and Win 8
The AMD display drivers should be listed too.,.

Hi,

I was hoping that someone could help me out with this as it's slowly but surely driving me ever closer to insanity.

Basically I until recently had this nasty spyware that amongst other things locked me out of my task manager as well as the desktop tab in the display properties menu.

I removed the spyware and managed to get into the task manager by disabling the disabling function in the group policy menu (by running gpedit.msc).

However am still not able to get into the Desktop tab.
The options in the tab are simply greyed out (as was previously the same with the taskmanager button). When I tried the same trick in the group policy menu by going into User Configuration/Administrative templates/Control Panel/Display option - It made no difference. What I have tried is to simply disable all the possible settings there were (in the User Configuration/Administrative templates/Control Panel/Display option).

Is there a different section in the group policy menu which I have to alter or is there some other solution?

I would be very grateful for any help or possible ideas any of you guys might have as i'm completely stumped on this one

Ta,

Paddy

My Dell Insipron 6400 laptop will not support multiple monitors. I think I may not have a key driver installed. Help!!

I have attached two separate images, screen shot of my device manager and display properties and a screen shot of the same image on my mothers PC. (which is also a Dell Inspiron 6400)

On my PC, In my device manager I can not view the display adapters (there must be something installed and I do not have visiblilty?? correct??)

Also, on my display properties I do not even have the option for Multiple monitor support. (these are the same PC's)

I inserted my Drivers and Utilities CD from Dell, but I did not see any driver on there that was applicable to a display adapter.

Am I on the right track???

Thanks

Each time I start up settings in display properties resets to
Screen resolution 640 X 480
Color Quality low 8 - bit
I rest them to
1024 X 768
32 bit
apply and restart and they reset to the above.

The correct monitor and Adapter are selected.

I ran a update search for each and it says I have the latest driver version.

If I need to update the monitor and Adapter driver what version and where do I need to go?

Any Help would be appreciated.

Anyone else encountered this issue and maybe have the solution?

Heyy everyone,

This is my first post on this forum, and it has taken me a while to post this thread since I have been trying to research and figure out my own problem myself by searching many, MANY, other related forums but so far have had not much luck. Also, obviously I couldn't find an individual who had the exact same specs as my computer who had the same issues, so I am going try and get help through this thread specifically for my computer. First I will explain everything that is going or happened and then all the specs are at the end of the thread.

Recently I downloaded a trial of World of Warcraft just to start playing it again for a little bit. I played it for about two days and then after playing it for about an hour or two straight, all of a sudden, the video card craps out, screen flashes, goes black, and then comes back within seconds. Then a message error pops stating 'Display driver igfx stopped responding and has successfully recovered.'.

Within those two days I was playing though, I was doing a lot of updates on my computer since I reformatted my laptop recently. So I thought maybe it had to do with the updates and decided to do a system restore. Of course with my luck, the system restore failed, and failed a couple more times after trying again but at different restoration points/dates. So then I decided so continue with my updates since I still had to install services pack 1, more updates, service pack 2, and more updates.

Which screen capture program are you using? I would try another program, this is the first time I've heard of a screen capture program asking that kind of fix.
And as for Hardware Acceleration, I know of a lot of Laptops or Notebooks do not have this feature, mine is one and my wife's laptop being the other, the Laptops are 2 and 3 years old respectively.

Hello and happy holidays! For this christmas I treated myself and my S430 with a new SSD which runs very smoothly. However, there seems to be a problem with the On Screen Display facility (when hotkeys are pressed, i.e. adjusting screen brightness, adjusting sound volume, toggling caps lock etc.) now when I'm tuning my laptop in again. I'm missing the vital processes like TPONSCR.exe and when I try to install the OSD through ThinkPad Hotkey Features Integration Setup, I am unable to install it. I receive an error message saying that there is a copy error (translated from Swedish) for multiple files (.dll). I'm running on Windows 7 Professional. This is a minor issue when using the laptop, but it's quite annoying when I used to have the facility and now it's gone. Hope anyone could provide me with a solution, I'd be very grateful! Best regards,Nicholas

I have an HP dc7900 at work and the system keeps getting the error "Display driver igfx stopped responding and has successfully recovered". First the user is not playing game and I have updated the video drivers. I also ran DXDIAG.exe and I have looked at the report and I don't see anything abnormal.

Does anyone have any ideas on why this error Display driver igfx stopped responding and has successfully recovered keeps occurring ??

Hello,

Try uninstalling the current driver completely and re-install the driver from the HP Support site.

Perform the following steps:
-Download Trexxy Driver Fusion from Driver Fusion - The Complete Driver Solution and install it. Don't run the program yet
- First, Uninstall the Intel Graphics driver/software from Control Panel > Uninstall a program and restart
-Now run Driver Fusion, select Intel Display and then select Delete
-After complete restart the PC then install the latest release of the Graphics driver from the HP Support site.

Hello folks,

I seem to be having multiple problems all at the same time (all of which may or may not be related) but let me start from the beginning.

This all started when I tried to connect my Inspiron 1720 laptop to our television. For some reason my laptop froze, the image on both my computer and TV had white lines across it, and so I turned off my system since it was locked up.

I restarted and began having display problems - first windows were not opening in the desktop area. They would open in the system tray, but were "unreachable" by the mouse. I played with display settings and got the screen to fit...but now seem to have 2 primary problems:

PROBLEM 1:

Whenever I play games, view pictures, or Windows Media Player, I see strange "plaid boxes." However, the desktop is fine and everything else appears to work fine. I contacted NVIDIA and I have installed different driver versions, as well as the OEM (Dell's) driver's - all did not work - I still saw the distorted images when playing games, viewing pictures, and videos.

I have also completed System Restore's to points prior to when I was having the problem - unfortunately that did not work.

Here are screenshots of what I am seeing:

Answer:Vista Display Problem (display driver and/or multiple-monitor related)

The first set of pictures that you put up look like classics examples of bad video RAM. In a desktop PC I would tell you to swap out the video card with a differnt one to verify that is the issue since in a few cases bad drivers can cause the issue but it's highly unlikely. Professional service by a local non big box computer shop is your best bet at this point.

I have a ThinkPad T400. I just reinstalled Windows 7 (64-bit) using a clean image. The automatic display driver that Windows found was for ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3400 Series from 2010. When I put the laptop onto the ThinkPad docking station, the monitor, connected by VGA, was detected just fine and the screen came up in the correct resolution. However, I was having problems with slow cursors in various programs (e.g., Mozilla Firefox and Microsoft Office) and hangs in Office that seemed related to the display driver. So I downloaded the Switchable Graphics Driver and installed it (http://support.lenovo.com/us/en/products/laptops-and-netbooks/thinkpad-t-series-laptops/thinkpad-t40... That solved the other problems, but now when I put my laptop onto the docking station or wake it from sleep while it's docked, the monitor never turns on -- the picture stays on the (closed) laptop screen. The only way I've found to get the monitor to turn on is to open the laptop and use Windows-P to turn it to "projector only" (while still docked) and then it finds the monitor (and gives me an error message saying that no projector was detected). Sometimes when this happens it tries to keep the laptop screen resolution, which is unfortunately not the same as my monitor. When I revert to the old driver, the docking station works just fine but other programs hang or are slow. Please help! Hello, I have a problem with my T410 (model: 25223FG)with Nvidia NVS 3100M (driver version 8.17.12.5738 (27.06.2010) ) .The Fn+F3 Key-Command is configured to turn of the display. In almost 50% of the cases where I use the Key-Command (fn+F3), the display turns off but does not turn on again on mouse movement or key-press or touch-pad action. The faulty behaviour occures always when the T410 is connected to the AC adapter. And the chance of the display not turning on again seems to become higher with increase of the duration between Key-Command and mouse movement. In these test cases my energy manager configuration was set to not turn of anything, when connected to AC. If I configure it to turn of the display after some time I am experiencing the same problem. So my question is:Does anyone have a suggestion where to start? (display driver, bios,...) RegardsJonny

This has happened to me once before when I had to re-image. The drivers on the second partition do not detect the hardware for my laptop so I go to download them. I have tried the NVIDIA ones and the Intel ones and neither detect my hardware. I used the NVIDA autodetect tool and it found my driver, but when it went to install it it said again there was no compatiable hardware. I've tried all available x86 and 64bit drivers that are available. Is there something I'm forgetting about? I seem to recall having this problem once before when attempting to make the HDMI work and had to find the driver from an obscure source. I do realize this issue is common and there are several forum posts on it already. Their fixes just aren't working.

I'm having trouble with my display driver. Several times, while on a video skype call, my screen drops to minimum resolution, and a box pops up telling me the ialmrnt5 display driver is not working properly. My display adapter is an Intel 82915G/GV/910GL Express Chipset Family. So I went to the Intel site and downloaded the supposedly current driver package (as a .zip file) and saved in where I can find it.

My question is, how do I now go about installing the new drivers. It seems to me that as long as the computer is running, the old drivers will be in use, and maybe can't be removed to be replaced by the new ones. I'd appreciate if someone could tell me how to proceed, without really messing things up.

Thanks in advance to all who may help.

Answer:How do I re-install a display driver?

Re-download that ".zip" file to your desktop.

Right-click it and click "Extract All." (You'll want to extract the files to the desktop for convenience)

Then double-click the new folder on your desktop and look for an .exe.

Click launch the .exe and an installation wizard should guide you through the rest of the process.

I'm not much into games so never played games on it but recently my brother wanted to play and I wasn't able to install it. After installing I get error about direct 3D.

I checked some forums but could not get any help. So I downloaded the ATI radeon express 200 m driver but it doesn't install saying it is not compatible.
I checked in device manager and there was a question and exclamation mark on it said video adaptor (just to add my laptop behaves fine for everything else except the games don't play for eg:-quake 3, igi2, nfs etc).

I tried uninstalling it and rebooting but it asked for drivers and don't find it on my system..

Hello

I am afraid there is no much to be done. At first you should know that Satellite L30 is definitely not the right gaming notebook. it is ?low budget? notebook with a wee bit graphic performance.

In your case I recommend you to install the display driver offered by Toshiba download page. This driver is tested and adapted for your notebook model.

Hello,

I have a notebook Toshiba Satellite C50-B-13D. I had to reinstall my Windows 7 Professional 32 Bit OS. Now i have a problem with the drivers. For example i can not install the display driver. After i give permission to make changes on my computer the Error message "This computer does not meet the minimum requierments to install this software. Does anybody know what i can do?

Answer:Satellite C50-B-13D - Can not install display driver

As I’m not mistaken the Satellite C50-B-13D does not contain dedicated GPU but the notebook was equipped with the Intel Celeron N2830 CPU which support the Intel HD Graphics 4000

So you need to install the Intel HD 4000 display driver.

Usually you have two possibilities to install the driver.
You can execute the installation.exe (setup.exe) file or you will install the driver within the device manager. I recommend you to choose the 2nd option in case the standard procedure does functions.

The driver from Toshiba EU driver page has to be unzipped.
Within the display-20140528122046 folder you would find the TC40214900E.exe
This is an zipped folder. Click right on this file and choose “unzip here”.
Now you will get another TC40214900E folder where you would find all the driver files (dll).

Next step: go to device manager, choose graphic card and click update/install driver
Now choose the “Advanced” installation option and point to the unzipped driver folder.
The system will pick up the files automatically and you could finish the installation.

That’s it.

"Setup was unable to complete the installation. Try to setup your display adapter with a standard VGA driver before running setup."

Unfortunately, Win XP will not allow me to setup the adapter as a standard VGA. In fact the display adapter is not even listed in Device Manager!

Yes, I got another driver for the Radeon on line -- same result. Other drivers just result in a code 5 failure.

Something is choking the driver installation. What could it be?

I am getting a display 800x600 w/ 32 bit color quality (driver unknown),but I need to get a higher resolution and avail myself of the other features of this board.

Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

On the Lenovo site, I find this video driver for Windows 10 X64.

Intel HD Graphics Driver

Have you tried that one yet?

Looking at the two most recent dumps, sgfxk64 is in the stack just prior to the bugcheck.
All I can find on it is this:

Product: SMSC Graphics Adapter WDDM Software
Company: SMSC
Description: SMSC Graphics Adapter WDDM Kernel Mode Driver
This appears to apply to the Intel onboard graphics adapter so maybe the driver I pointed to will fix this?

I have 3 monitors connected to an AMD HD5770 graphics card. Two monitors connect via HDMI, and the third through a Sapphire Active DisplayPort->DVI adaptor. Things have been working fine for years, but recently I started sleeping my computer when I am not using it during the day, as opposed to my previous habit of leaving it on all day and then shutting down at night, and a couple of days after starting this new habit, I received a 'Display Port Link Failure' message:

"The system has detected a link failure and cannot set the requested resolution and refresh rate on your DisplayPort display. Your display might not support the requested resolution or there may be an issue with the cable connecting the display to your computer"

Now, even upon resuming my normal habit of leaving the computer on and shutting down, the monitor will work sometimes but randomly stop other times.

How can I either fix the issues with sleep, which I would prefer since I want to save energy (a money issue rather than believing my actions make any difference to the environment), or if there is a problem somewhere, determine if it is the graphics card or the adaptor that needs replacing.?

Answer:Display Port Link Failure, Active Display Port->DVI

It could be the hardware is starting to give out. Not all problems are software related. Going to be hard to nail down if you don't have another cable. Could be the cable or the port.

Any way to test with a straight cable, not the adapter cable?

So I formatted my laptop (A300 PSAGCA-0C301N) two nights ago, and being the idiot I am I forgot to download and backup the necessary drivers for my laptop.

So when I first started the laptop on a fresh installation of Windows Vista 32-bit on a freshly formatted HDD, my resolution was 1024x768. However, the full standard resolution for this laptop is actually 1280x768 along those lines, however when I went to "Personalize" the max resolution I was allowed to have was 1024x768.

So I went to this site http://www.mytoshiba.com.au/support/...download?os=15 and downloaded the Wireless Lan/Wired Lan drivers, the Intel Chipset drivers, the Audio Driver and ATI M82XT,M86 Display Driver.
However, once I downloaded and began to install the ATi driver, I got three error messages right after extraction; the first box saying:"Catalyst Install Manager failed to initialize Detection Manager"
Right after the first box, I get another error box saying "Catalyst Install Manager failed to initialize"
and then a third box saying "Catalyst Install Manager failed to initialize Package Manager".

After the third box, it proceeds to installation, however after accepting the User's Agreement I get these error boxes;
"Catalyst Install Manager failed to initialize"
"Failed to find any installable components!"
and then the install screen proceeds to say "Failures occured during installation".

I am running Windows Vista... Read more

What happens if you install the display driver manual via device manager and advanced installation option where you can choose the driver and directory yourself?
Does it work?

I had a similar problem and this worked for me?

By the way: You should also install latest Service Pack for Vista. Check the Microsoft page for an update.

Last but not least you don?t post an installation order. In which order you installed the drivers? Generally speaking the chipset driver should be installed firstly, then the display driver.

Hey,

Is it important to have the Catalyst icon?
Aida64 is 3rd party tool and maybe it shows you wrong information.

> But, when I want to download new drivers from ati
You shouldn?t use the ATI drivers because they are not designed and pretested for your notebook. So use the original Toshiba display drivers. If you have already installed another version remove it and then install the Toshiba drivers.

Five days ago I began getting Memory Reference errors, followed by fatal errors. A typical prompt would say, "Instruction at 0x00ae027d referenced memory at 0x00f2a000". Pressing OK resulted in a fatal error message pointing to 0x00f35000. A hard restart was possible. These errors were seemingly random, and occurred after at least an hour of operation.

The following tests were run in Safe Mode, or Safe Mode with Networking.

Because the errors pointed to memory I ran MemTest86+, version 4.00 through 36 full passes. All without errors.

Suspecting a corrupted registry entry, virus or spyware, I ran a complete virus scan with F-Prot, which I have used for over 20 years. No viruses were found. I noted that the active file protection was not enabled, though I had enabled that protection some time back. Attempts to activate that protection failed. A conversation with Frisk Software International resulted in uninstalling F-PROT, downloading and installing a new copy. Active file protection still could not be enabled. Frisk suggested running Spybot.

Ran Spybot, finding several mild spyware incursions which were eradicated.

Ran chkdsk /f on drive I: (my boot drive), and was prompted that the drive was in use, and asked if I wanted to run chkdsk /f on the next boot, to which I acquiesced. Running chkdsk /f resulted in some fixes.

Ran chkdsk K: /f and was presented with a prompt which I foolishly thought was telling me the drive was in use, etc. I hit "Y" only ... Read more

Hello,

I have a Satellite M70-cli PSM73C-CL100E and I got a new hard drive and loaded Windows xp. I went to the Toshiba website and downloaded and installed all of the drivers. I didn't have any problems with the atheros wifi drivers, or sound, modem or chipset. I also updated the bios to v2.10 all with success.

The problem is with the video card. I used the program from huntersoft and know that the chipset is an ATI. Also it said its a ATIradeon xpress 200m with 128MB DDR shared video. When I try and install the ATI driver it says setup was unable to complete the installation. Try to setup your display adapter with a standard vga driver.

I have spent hours pouring over the net. I have tried the ATI L30 XP driver and it does the same thing. I have tried the ATI radeon xpress 200m driver and it says hardware not found. I don't have the original CD's. I know that it works as the old drive worked fine. Unfortunatly I wiped it as well to put in an older laptop. I should have got the drivers off of it. :(

Does any one have any idea? This is driving me crazy! Thanks for any help. Marilyn

Hi mjmx4,

How have you tried installing the display driver?

Normally you can install the (display) driver if you start the setup.exe file that comes with the driver package. Follow the screen instructions through driver setup, the driver will be installed.

Alternative you can install the driver if you navigate to device manager and right click on graphic card. Choose ?Update driver? and use the advanced installation where you can choose the driver and directory yourself.

By the way: Before you start with driver installation, you should install Service Pack 3 for XP.

Hi all!

After instaling Windows I dont have graphic card installed and that's not all, I can't turn on bluetooth because computer can not install it. New drivers form Toshiba do not make a change its a same thing. If I install graphic card the info is that graphic card was not found. Bluetooth installation always crashes in the middle. All orginal drivers are on the drive but I cant install them. All i get is a "VGA controler with a ?" in the device manager.

Please help!

Answer:Qosmio F30-140 - Can't install display driver and Bluetooth

Hi

Normally after using the Toshiba recovery disk all should be installed properly but before you try to update a driver you should remove the old driver first. So go in control panel => Add/Remove programs and remove the old driver and restart the notebook. Then you can install the newest driver from the Toshiba website.

In worst case there is something wrong with the mainboard and you must go to an authorized service provider but try the new drivers first.

This is a very strong indication that you will not be able to install their drivers.

Did you choose this series in the Toshiba European driver form?

I see the Display Driver for Win XP v 8.477.

If you cannot install it using the setup.exe then you should try to install this driver in device manager.
Mark the graphic card (possibly marked with yellow exclamation mark) then choose update driver, use the advanced installation procedure, point to the driver files downloaded from the Toshiba page and apply.

That should work

?Control Panel? ? ?System? -- ?Device manager? -- ?Display adapters? right click on the graphic controller ? update driver or install driver.

The Toshiba page is the right one for all drivers so you can download all drivers for every Toshiba notebook on the Toshiba page.

If the display driver package doesn?t contain a setup.exe file you install the driver manually. Therefore go in device manager and make a right click on the video controller and select ?update driver?. Then install the driver manually and search yourself for the directory where you have extracted the files.
Follow the screen instructions and restart the notebook ? That?s all!! :)

I've done an update to Windows Vista Business and I've downloaded the Vista ATI Display Driver "8.31.100.3.2" but the driver failed to install.

The same happended when I tried to update the default windows driver through "properties-->update driver...".

Any idea why this happen?

Answer:Cannot install Vista display driver on Satellite M70-159

Hi there,

just a little question: where did you downloaded the driver? Did you download it maybe from the ati website, didn?t you? So, this driver will fail because it will not find the hardware.
So, please tell me where you downloaded it and if you tried maybe an older version. It?s important that you have the latest chipset driver installed. Or probably a reinstall of the system will help if everything fails.

Hello, I bought ThinkPad L412 (Windows 7 OS) one and a half years ago. It came with all drivers and it was working fine. Last month, my computer crashed and I had to reinstall Windows 7 to make it work. Since then, the monitor brightness has not been the same. It's as if the LED part of the monitor is not working. The function keys for adjusting monitor brightness are not working either. It seems to me that I have to install the proper graphics/display driver to resolve the issue. My "device manager" says that a "Standard VGA Graphics Adapter" is currently installed in the computer. Hence, I am looking for the proper graphics driver. While buying the laptop, I got the following description of the display: Display type 14.0" HD (1366 x 768) LED-backlit (16:9), Anti-Glare display with WWAN System graphics Mobile Intel® HM55 Express Chipset with integrated Intel HD Graphics, Gigabit Ethernet, secure chip, WWAN support Now, I am searching in lenovo website and it shows the following display drivers associated with ThinkPad L412: Presentation Director for Windows Vista (32-bit, 64-bit) and XP - ThinkPad[+] Click for files> Learn More Monitor file for Windows 7 (32-bit,64-bit), Vista (32-bit,64-bit), XP (32-bit,64-bit) and 2000 - ThinkPad[+] Click for files> Learn MoreLenovo SimpleTap for Windows 7 (32-bit and 64-bit) - ThinkPad and ThinkCentre systems[+] Click for files> Learn More Intel Gr... Answer:Satellite Pro A100 - cannot install display driver

Hi

I assume you have downloaded the driver zip package.
Rename the package for example in "display driver" and then unzip the package.
Then go to the folder where the driver has been unzipped and then start the installation.

Can you do that?

Answer:Qosmio X500 - Can I install new display driver?

Hi malatestay,

I wouldn?t recommend installing the nVidia display drivers because they are not tested on your system and this can lead to such bluescreens you have now. Just install the latest Toshiba display driver and that should be ok.

Regarding 3rd party drivers I found an interesting article:

When I first got my laptop it wouldn't even boot out the box! So I googled the way to get it up and running and it wouldn't install Windows 7 32bit, so I installed Windows 7 64bit and that worked.

I am one of the users who is also having their laptop freeze on them constantly. I have done the Bios update and it is still doing it. So I decided to try updating the graphics drivers with the new ones from this website, but it seems they wont install. I got the Windows 7 64bit drivers first as I have Windows 7 64bit installed in my laptop. But it says it cant find the required hardware, I figured its because my laptop is not a 3D version, should that even matter?

So I then tried the 32bit drivers and it says im using wrong system os for those drivers.

So how about some drivers I can use?

Answer:Satellite A660-07U - Can't install new display driver

Hello

One point I really don?t understand: Why you have installed your own Windows 7 version?
Usually Satellite A660 is always equipped with operating system (Windows 7) and it?s already preinstalled. That means you can start your notebook out of the box and Windows 7 will start. Therefore you don?t need an additional installation.
And let me guess: You don?t have created a Toshiba recovery disk? right?

Anyway, before you update the display driver you should remove the old version first. Then restart your notebook and install the newest version.

I tried so many ways to fix this problem.

Which ways?
Which Windows version do you want to use?

As far as I know Toshiba offers tested drivers for all supported operating systems so I don?t understand your problem.
According notebook specification your notebook was delivered with preinstalled WIN7 64bit HOME PREMIUM & 32bit DVD. Why do you don?t use one of these original recovery images?

Hiya,

I've recently bought an Equium A210-171. It was preinstalled with Windows Vista Home Premium and partitioned into two drive C drive for Vista and E drive for data. Anyways I didn?t like the way it was setup so I formatted the drive and installed Vista Ultimate on it.

With not getting a driver CD only a system restore DVD with it when I bought it so I had to get the drivers from Toshiba?s download site and all went well until it come to install the display driver.

I downloaded the driver from Toshiba support page (ATI) and installed it restarted the laptop and the laptop didn?t install the driver. So I went to device manager and went to install the driver from update driver and it still won?t install. I am 100% sure I have the correct display driver but every time I try to install it, it wont and says the standard VGA graphics adapter is up-to-date. Has anyone got any ideas how to install the display driver on this laptop as it is got my head done in now?

Cheers John.

Forgot to mention I have also been to the ATI site and downloaded the driver and app from there and it still won?t install properly.

Answer:Equium A210 - can not install ATI display driver

Hi

The ATI original driver from the ATI page cannot be installed on a common way because it does not support the overheating protection like the Toshiba own GPU drivers.

You should be able to install he Toshiba ATI driver from the Toshiba page.
If the system says that the the standard VGA graphics adapter is up-to-date then access the device manager and remove the installed graphic driver from the OS.

After new reboot, try to install the new downloaded GPU driver from the Toshiba driver site.

Good luck and best regards

Try starting in Safe Mode with Networking as follows then reinstall or update your existing graphics driver.

Restart your PC. When you get to the sign-in screen, hold the Shift key down while you select Power
> Restart.
After your PC restarts to the Choose an option screen, select Troubleshoot > Advanced options > Startup Settings > Restart.
After your PC restarts, you'll see a list of options. Select 4 or F4 to start your PC in Safe Mode. Or if you'll need to use the Internet, select 5 or F5 for Safe Mode with Networking.

In trying to get the T40 to work with external display I installed updated ATI Display Driver off the Lenovo website. After rebooting I have a gray screen. I can get into Bios. What do I change in Bios to be able to get back to windows and uninstall the new driver? Thanks, Gai

Answer:T40 Display Issue after installing new ATI Display Driver

you would need to get into your safe mode? can you do that? In the event you can't, you may want to take the hdd out and use a usb enclosure to transfer any files you have on the hdd into another computer. Then put the hdd back and try to go into rescue and recovery partition by pressing the blue IBM/Access key on the keyboard during laptop initial startup, this should take you to your recovery console and then select to recover to previous backed up condition or full recovery to factory condition. If that don't work, then you would need to reinstall the OS using an aftermarket OS disc from scratch.

TL;DR: use Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU) from safe mode, after you uninstalled normally. Hi. I accidentally installed the win8 version of the display drivers for Lenovo Ideapad Z575 on a Windows 7 OS and it let me install it just fine, however it didn't work, Catalyst Control Center wouldn't start at all for one (can't remember the details because I forgot to make this post at the time when it happened) and I tried some ways of uninstalling it and reinstalling the latest win7 one again, I wasn't able to. So installing the win7 version after thinking that the win8 version was actually gone really didn't fix the issue. Seemed that the win8 version files remained somewhere in Windows folders and the win7 version being older didn't overwrite the newer version files, so the win7 version was still using some win8 files... I tried uninstalling the win8 version normally but also with a program(can't remember it's name, maybe it was driver magician? EDIT: nope, it was Driver Fusion, anyway its gui was red+white) which requires booting into safe mode and it deletes some registry keys (but likely doesn't also delete the leftover files). So, the only way that did work was uninstalling the display driver via Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU)I don't remember exactly, but I think I ran DDU(in safe mode) after I uninstalled the display driver(catalyst) normally, to perform any leftover cleanup. Not much more to say, except that this o... Hi all,

I have experienced a series of problems with my Mobility Radeon X1400 graphics card that I'm sure could be resolved by downloading the latest drivers. This I have to do from the Toshiba website as the ATI website offers no support for it. But I have experienced multiple problems downloading the file archive.

It always says that there is an error: "Header error... (missing or corrupt)" and it asks me to redownload the file, I've done this three times now with the same results, I'm starting to get a little frustrated- can somebody +please help+. I have noticed that the downloaded (and useless) file is smaller (by over 50%) than the intended size-- I don't know if that helps at all...

Pre-emptive thanks if you can help me with this problem.

Hi there,

I downloaded the ATI driver from the Vista downloads page but it does not want to install - it goes through the whole installation process, but at the end gives an error message. At the bottom of the log is :-

Error messages
Driver Install: the installation failed
Application Install: failed

What to do now? The Vista driver does not allow me to activate my SVideo out which is really annoying.

Thanks for any insight!

Answer:Can not install Vista display driver on my Satellite A100-529

Hi

Mostly such error messages appear because something went wrong during the installation procedure.
This could be caused by usage of the wrong, not compatible graphic driver.

Are you sure you have used the right graphic driver??
You have to choose the drivers developed for the Satellite PSAA2 series because the A100-529 belongs to this notebook series.

The Toshiba page provides a 8.31.100.3.2-06112 version of the ATI graphic driver.
You should install this!!!

I remember this unit was not delivered with Windows Vista but with the Windows XP home version. Therefore I assume you did something wrong during the Vista driver installation.

Do you use the newest BIOS version??? Please check it and if necessary try to update it.
But be careful!!
Be sure you use the right BIOS and the right BIOS update method.

Hi,

I am trying to install the display driver for my laptop and have downloaded the zip file 'display-20080414134834' from the Toshiba website. This file contains both a BIOS update and the display driver.

Unfortunately when attempting to install the BIOS update I am told that I need to insert a floppy disk, which, sadly, is impossible given that this model of laptop does not have a floppy disk drive! It only has a DVD Drive, and not a rewritable one at that. Secondly, on attempting to install the display update (having failed with the BIOS) I am told to insert the disk containing Setup.exe. I don't know if this refers to the aforementioned floppy disk or another CD that perhaps came with the computer. If it did come with the computer however, it is not in my possession now (this is a second hand laptop that didn't come with any driver software).

My question is how am I supposed to install this update and driver without a floppy disk drive or a cd containing setup.exe? Is there a way to get around this? The file I downloaded was the only available one from the Toshiba website, so there doesn't seem to be one available which doesn't require either of the things I'm lacking.

If anyone can help I would be very grateful because this is preventing me from playing some computer games!
In the meantime the generic driver is fine for browsing the internet etc.

My operating system, by the way, is Windows XP Professional.

I own a Satellite Pro M30 notebook, which includes a GeForce FX Go5200 GPU made by nVIDIA. On July 27, nVIDIA released a new driver and related software (version 61.77) which, as stated by nVIDIA, fits all its GPUs.

I tried to install this new driver on my notebook (after removing the old driver as instructed by nVIDIA) but it does not install. Does somebody have any idea why?

Why isn't the new driver posted on Toshiba's driver support site for this notebook?

Answer:Satellite Pro M30, Is it recommended to install the new display driver from nVIDIA?

I gave exactly the same problem. I read at the Nvidia site that they do not support GPU in notebooks. We are totally dependent on Toshiba.

Indeed, the question is: When does Toshiba updates their Geforce FX GO52000 drivers?

I wanted to download newer graphics drivers for the NVidia card, so I went to the NVidia website and downloaded a new driver, which is dated back to December 2009, instead of mine, which is of July 2009 However, when I try to install it, the system says that theya are no hardware which is compatible with the new driver.

Could you tell me, what am I doing wrong? I could use any guidance as well. Thank you very much!

Toshiba site only seems to have the 6.13.10.3514 version which is the same as that which came with machine. Am I therefore stuck with no possible upgrades?

The current driver seems not to be 100% compatible with Directx 9.0c * Sigh *

Answer:Satellite A40-151: Cannot install display driver from Intel site

Hi

What Intel graphic card was installed on your notebook?
Is it a Intel 852GME 16MB-64MB shared memory graphic card???

I have found nice information on the Intel page and it seems that the graphic card hardware does not support the DirectX9 but only the DirextX7 and DirecttX8

The graphic driver from the Intel page will not help you.
Firstly you will be not able to install it because it?s not designed for the Toshiba notebook usage and secondly the hardware does not support it.

But I give you one tip if you search for a earlier driver version.
Some notebooks use the same graphic cards. Try to search for the driver in different notebook series with the same graphic card .
But the new installation will nothing change. The DirectX 9 API is not supported

Hi!

Have you tried to install the display driver from the Toshiba website? You can find it here:
http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com => Support & Downloads => Download Drivers

Before you try to install a newer display driver you should remove all old versions in Add/Remove programs. Then restart the notebook and use CCleaner to clean the system. Restart again and then install the new version.

Do you have the same issue with factory settings? In worst case you must reinstall Windows using Toshiba recovery disk.

For clarification this laptop has switchable graphics so it has both Intel and AMD display drivers. I recently tried to update the AMD driver (AMD Radeon HD 6650M) for my laptop due to not being able to access Catalyst Control Center. It didn't work, and I mistakenly forgot set a restore point.

I've uninstalled the drivers, ran Driver Sweeper, and ran CCleaner. I attempted to install the display driver for my model from the Acer website: VGA Driver AMD v8.901.4.0 (http://support.acer.com/us/en/produc...1&modelId=3476).

However, I do not receive the option to install a display driver in the Catalyst Install Manager (http://i.imgur.com/qL52a.jpg). I have been able to install it in the past. This time however, when I run the Catalyst Install Manager it doesn't have an option for me to install the display driver nor Catalyst Control Center.

Also, the AMD card is not able to start, but I suspect this is because there are no drivers installed for it. (http://i.imgur.com/qL52a.jpg)

Is there anything I can do short of doing a total restore to fix this?

Answer:lenovo b560 can't install nvidia display driver

hi Frost1,

Welcome to the Forums.

The B560 with Intel+Nvidia graphics uses the Nvidia Optimus Technology to switch between the Intel GPU (for power saving) and the Nvidia GPU (for applications that requires more processing power).

If you have Windows 7, try the following:

1. Restart the machine and hit F8. On the menu, select "Disable driver signature enforcement".
 - Sample image

2. Install these drivers then reboot:
1st: Intel Onboard Graphics Driver for Windows 7 (64-bit)
2nd: NVIDIA Display Driver for Windows 7 (64-bit)

If you still get the error, can you PM me your serial number or indicate your machine type (e.g., 0679-3JU) to check the PC specs.

I've just installed Windows 7 and everything is working fine but I decided to install the drivers from Toshiba and when I was installing the display driver (for ATI mobility radeon HD 2600) I've got the so called "Blue screen of death". Then every time windows starts up it gets the same blue screen. Windows start up repair fixed this using system restore.
I think windows 7 installed a different driver and they are interfering with each other. The other driver works fine for now.

I also tried to uninstall it first but then the installation wouldn't even start.
So what should I do? I think this way is fine but I want to ask someone with more experience first.

Hi,

I just uploaded Windows 7 professional yesterday (clean install, using windows xp previously). Everything went smoothly as far as I could tell and Windows 7 is now running on my laptop.

However every 10 minutes or so the screen freezes, goes black for a second and than returns to normal and a message appears in the bottom right hand corner of the screen saying 'Display driver Intel graphics accelerator for windows vista(R) has stopped responding and successfully recovered'

One time after this happened I got the a blue screen with a warning message (it was too fast to copy anything down) and than my laptop restarted itself. I have added a zip file to this message taken from \windows\minidump as I saw someone suggested to do this on another thread... I hope it helps with the diagnosis.

I'm not sure if the BSOD came as a result of the display driver fault as mentioned above. I'm not very savvy when it comes to computers.

One more piece of info - after installing windows 7, I installed all the recommended and critical updates for windows, but none of the optional ones. I can provide a screen dump of these if needed.

Hope I've given enough information and would really appreciate any help.

Thanks

You need to update your Intel Driver:

Code:
Driver: igdkmd32.sys
Refers to: Intel Graphics driver
Dated: Wed May 06 19:13:40 2009
Use the Intel? Driver Update Utility and check for a Win 7 32-bit version:

https://downloadcenter.intel.com/Default.aspx

Aim to update your drivers as many are dated 2009.

Once updated reboot the system and see if your issue remains?

Cheers

Dave

I tried completing the download multiple times for the nVidia Display Driver 9.7.5.4.

The first times the setup would not complete citing "that this computer does not have the correct hardware.." , then the Windows message came up and said that "if this setup did not complete successfully click here blabla" and I did that.
Now when I run the setup it still stops in the same spot. But now it says that *"the setup can not be completed because this driver only runs on Windows Vista, and this is not Windows Vista." But the thing is I do have Windows Vista!*

Current Display Driver: Mobile Intel(R) 945 GM Express ChipSet Family

Laptop Model: Satellite P105-S6177

Operating System: Windows Vista 32-bit

Answer:Satellite P105 - Can't install nVidia display driver

Hi

And then you want to install an nVidia display driver?
LOL :D

I think you can not install an nVidia display driver because your notebook is equipped with a Intel chipset and graphic card.
You will never be able install nVidia display driver and so did get the message that you don’t have the correct hardware.

Intel graphic cards and nVidia graphic cards are different things so do not mix it!
Some P105 was equipped with nVidia cards and otheres with Intel card and it seems that you have an Intel card.

Hi everybody,

I have an issue with my old satellite a100-159 laptop. I still use it as a second computer. Since display drivers for windows 7 are available from toshiba, I decided to update the laptop from XP to 7. After the update I downloaded the display driver for win 7 (http://support1.toshiba-tro.de/tedd-files2/0/display-20091109135931.zip)

But here comes the problem: when I unzip the file, the "tinstall.exe" file is not working. This is the .exe file that should install the driver. I have also had the message that "This program might not have installed correctly". As a results of this I am looking at 1024x768 while the proper resolution is 1280x800.

Any suggestions for me? I know the laptop is old, but without the proper display driver it is rather useless.

Jeroen

I have a Satellite C855-12K made for croatian market. Recently I've noticed a performance loss in games, even on low settings that I used to play normally on high or ultra. So I decided to reinstall windows and get the latest drivers.

All the drivers installed correctly except the display one, when I install it and reboot the laptop BSOD comes out and system restores.
I've tried manually installing the driver without running catalyst but that doesn't work either.
Net framework 4.5, directx 11 and vcredist are all installed before the driver.
Does anyone have an idea whats this about?
Graphics card is Radeon HD7610M.

Update on this:
I've just managed to find the old CCC software (version 2012.0120.420.7502) and it installed fine.
Still I'm worried why doesn't the new driver work?
