Preferred Solution: Explorer browser image paints on screen while scrolling

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hi all,

Recently I have been having a problem with scrolling down Image intensive webpages.
The screen will go completely black and then it will come back in 20 seconds or so.

I recently changed the monitor I was using but the problem persists.
Strangely if the scroll wheel speed is increased and scroll accelaration is enabled the problem goes away. But the scroll speed is too fast for a lot of the applications that I use it for.

I am using a
-GeforceMX440 Vid card
- 2.0Ghz Pentium4
- 1Gb DDR Ram
- WinXp
-Logitech cordless mouse.

Any ideas? Could it be the video card?

Thanks.

Answer:Black screen when scrolling image Intensive Sites

Would it be safe to assume that you have an LCD monitor????

Your card is no Power House, I would not be surprised if it is a big piece of the problem.

Have you tried turning off image loading and seeing if the problem goes away?

What about scrolling with the Window made smaller, say 4" x 4"???

Hey guys,

Today, I updated my video card drivers, but put off the restart until later. Now I restarted my machine, but i notice that the screen resolution seems to be a little off from what it says in control panel. (it's supposed to be 1280x1204 but it looks more like 800x600) Also, whenever I shift something on my desktop, or scroll down in a browser, a line runs up or down the screen and then the view shifts. I'm going to run a virus scan later, but I was wondering if it may have to do with the video drivers I installed earlier?

(Latest drivers as of April 2nd 2009(i think) for Nvidia Geforce 7600)

Thanks,

Alias50

Answer:Solved: Screen resolution wrong, wierd browser scrolling

As the problem has only been occuring since you installed the new drivers then yes it is highly likely. You can roll back your drivers by finding your graphics device in Device Manager > Right click and select properties > Select the driver tab then click 'Rollback Driver' any questions or problems let us know.

Question: Mouse Paints Video

OK, I'll try and explain our strange problem.  On a SL400, using VideoWave, the video view screen is solid.  Until you move the mouse over it and it's like it's painting the video.  Keep moving and it drills down to reveal other frames.  I thought this was a Roxio problem but it also happens trying to print a mid sized pdf file.  Under print, the preview window is black until you move the mouse over it.  This reveals the pdf.  If you move it over every inch of the screen it will reveal the entire pdf-photo-image one small block at a time.I can run/view video under Quick Time or Media layer with no problem or lag.Sound works OK (within reason)Any ideas?

But this thread seems to have been closed without a proper solution.

Apart from this I also have a problem with online videos, i do not hear anything ! there is no audio being played with youtube, ..... . Actually windows media player & vlc player work fine but the startup sounds/ alerts no longer seem to be heard, even when the volume is increased i do not hear a thing (the usual beep sound is gone)

What should have gone wrong ?

I am having trouble occasionally--frequency is increasing to 4-5 times a week--with my monitor image. This has happened in several of my Windows programs: both Word and Excel, and also while on the internet.

What happens is that the monitor image begins rolling up and down VERY quickly. It seems connected to the mouse moving. When I put the mouse arrow all the way over to the right (into the scroll bar), the rolling up and down stops. The only way I can get it to stop is to hit "control, alt, delete" and hit enter to close whatever program has the problem. Sometimes that fixes it and I can just reopen the program, and other times I have to reboot entirely.

I have a Gateway Monitor that I bought 4 years ago this Dec. I keep my computer on quite a bit but always use a screen saver after 3 min. of inactivity. The Mouse is a Microsoft Optical Mouse.

I am running Windows ME.

Is this a monitor issue or a mouse issue? (or something else???)

TIA!

I always like saving screen shots (or whatever) as *.jpg. Is there a quick easy way to change it so when you click 'Save As' it defaults to *.jpg instead of *.bmp? i know it's a quick little click of the mouse to switch it to jpg, but I was just wondering if it was possible so I wouldn't have to do that every time...

Answer:changing ms paints default save format

hello

when you are doing your save as and you have the opyion to name the file / right under it there is a box that tell you what format you are saving it in / now if you click the little arrow next to it you will get a number of formates that it can be save in

just select (jpg) then save

it will then be save as a (jpg)

let us know if this works for you

I am working on a multi-user, servlet-based intranet application that uses IE for its user interface. A very bizarre problem is occurring whereby under heavy usage, Internet Explorer begins to slow down dramatically and then paints much of the screen in black and hangs. Screen shot attached.

Interestingly, the blackness only applies to the screen background and graphics. Text displays properly in its proper color. However, since most text is displayed in black, most of it disappears against the black blackground, but all non-black text shows up normally. Also control borders seem to be painted normally.

The user interface is such that each user function brings up a separate IE window in which the function is performed, and when done the user closes the window. As a result, when a busy power user uses the system, many many windows are being opened and closed almost as fast as the user can click on them. It seems like after some period of time, IE just can't take it any more and throws in the towel.

Although memory does seem to decrease while the system is being used, running out of memory is not the problem. There is always plenty of free memory available when the screen goes black. Also the CPU usage at the time is mostly idle.

We use Tomcat as our servlet engine, but it's not a serverside problem either. The problem can affect one individual user while all the others are working fine. The server never crashes or misbehaves when this happens and log me... Read more

Hi,

Had no idea where to post this question, it kind of lands in a grey area, but seeing as my O/S is XP, thought this would be the most suitable place to start.

I have just performed a clean install, and am in the process of adding, all my AV, and program software. I have however noticed, that when I scroll with my mouse wheel, down the page, it kind of ripples rather than smoothly scrolling.

Have I maybe set my screen up at the wrong resolution? I didn't install any monitor drivers during the install, cos hey, the monitor is working after all. Could something be missing though?

It's not a major issue, but I would like to iron out all these little niggles early on to keep things working tip top.
Please feel free to suggest if this post would be better served in a browser area of the forum, or anywhere else for that matter.

Thankyou.

Answer:Jerky browser scrolling.

Did you install the driver for your video card (and did you obtain it from the oem website)?

Also, please open device manager - any yellow or red symbols?

This seems to happen no matter the browser. As i am scrolling up or down the page it will stop or freeze for a split second then continue. I have gone into the scroll settings an unchecked things and tried deactivating addons to no avail in pale moon or firefox to no avail. What global thing could cause this? 3 gigs of ram on windows 7 with a good processor. Nothing in startup other than a few things, i keep tghe machine lean. But it IS my PC at work so maybe a network thing. I can't ask IT to help, as they won't bother with this kind of thing.

I also have another symtom that i think is due to the same problem. When typing the cursor will freeze and the last few letters i typed will not show up for several seconds, then they all are rendered quickly.

Okay... so I recently (at the recommendation of a friend) installed Opera to try it out.

Well I like the browser just fine so far, but there's one problem: The scrolling feature on my touchpad just DOES NOT WORK at all in Opera.

Why?

So far, the following has been suggested:

Someone said "update the driver."
Well may I ask then: FROM WHERE? WHAT DRIVER UPDATE?
The only driver in existence (which I don't even know where I got it...) is the one I have.
It's an Alps touchpad apparently, and I'm running Windows 7 64-bit.

Answer:No scrolling in Opera browser? Why not?

Though I use Opera, I am not familiar with touchpads. But while awaiting an answer here, you can also try the Opera support forum, which specializes on this rather unjustifiably neglected browser:

Ars Technica article here.

IBM Internet Security System's X-Force has released its annual report (PDF) on malware trends and statistics from last year. 2007 saw some significant changes in malware distribution, and there's reason to think that some of these shifts mark the beginning of new attack patterns rather than small abnormalities. The following are some of the highlights from the report:

* Reported vulnerabilities in 2007 were down five percent compared to 2006, but the number of those vulnerabilities that were classified as severe rose by 28 percent.
* Microsoft, Apple, Oracle, IBM, and Cisco reported the most vulnerabilities, but collectively account for only 13.6 percent of all reported vulnerabilities.
* 90 percent of the 2007 vulnerabilities were exploitable from a remote location, up 1 percent from 2006
* Most in-the-wild exploits are being generated by web toolkits. Prevalence of these toolkits has risen dramatically since they appeared in 2006.

As of this writing, 80 percent of the 838 vulnerabilities attributed to the top five vendors have been patched. That leaves 20 percent of the flaws unpatched, which is obviously non-ideal, but it beats the 50/50 patched/unpatched ratio attributed to the other vendors once Microsoft, Apple, Oracle, IBM, and Cisco are removed from the picture.

The problem is, that the stylus sometimes clicking/writing when only hovering. Since it was annoing that sometimes my hovers got into the paint, I sent it to my retailer to have a look. The retailer say that the problem gone when turning the stylus sensitivity to low, that is, he wants to change the manufacturer's default setting. Is this a proper solution? Not normal behavior and accepting a software setting is only a "quick fix". - The retailer should give you a full refund/replacement/repair depending on circumstances. It may also be a faulty stylus only.

I use Firefox as my main internet browser. I'm occasionally coming across a problem where the internet page I'm viewing will suddenly start scrolling - all by itself, without me doing anything. For example, just a moment ago I was reading a webpage, not touching my mouse or keyboard and suddenly the page decided to scroll down to the bottom. I couldn't do anything to stop the scrolling. I have also noticed this on the odd occasion I have used Google maps. I will be searching a location, and when the map appears, the screen will suddenly start scrolling sideways across the map (to the left).Nothing I do stops the scrolling - I can move the scrollbar buttons, but they just go back to scrolling. All I can do is close the browser screen and start again. It doesn't happen every time, but often enough to be annoying. I have run a virus scan and checked everything I can think to check, but all seems fine. If anyone has any clues as to what the problem is, I'd be grateful to hear it. Is it a Firefox issue? Something else? Thanks.

Answer:Firefox browser automatically scrolling

I had that happen to me quite a few times. You have to wait for the page to completely load. If your scrolling down or have scrolled down before the page loads, when it does load, it will follow your command.

I've had a problem with the browsers I use hanging. It is most noticeable when I am using the scroll wheel on my mouse, scrolling down a page in an open window. It will hang for 1-3 seconds, as though a script is loading or something. At first I thought maybe it was a script or the page just waiting to finish loading, but I've let everything in the browser window finish loading and the problem just continues.

I thought at first it was a Firefox problem, so I tried IE8 and Google Chrome and the problem persists in those browsers as well.

There is no problem scrolling up, just down.

I've cleaned my system numerous times using Norton 360, Spybot S&D, CCleaner, PC Pitstop Optimize.

I've also thought maybe it was my mouse, so I downloaded new drivers and that solved nothing either.

It isn't causing any major issues, it is just a nuisance that I have been putting up with for a long time and have tried all I know to try to stop the problem with no luck. Now I'm enlisting the help of experts.

Thanks!

Hi there, Im working with a Dell PC at work and my boss reformatted it yesterday. Since then the internet browser has a quite nausea inducing cascading/wave effect when you scroll up or down. Ive searched how to fix it and have tried to "smooth scroll" set it which hasnt made a difference regardless of whether it is ticked or not...Ive seen that sometimes its the video card but i would have thought that since the pc is reformatted that the original settings should mean that this doesnt happen? I could be very wrong... :DAny ideas?

Answer:Browser scrolling funnily..cascade effect

The problem us that you do not have the proper drivers for the video interface. You obtain these from the computer or video card manufacturer.Formatting a drive is a preliminary to a clean install of the OS. In such an install ALL data and settings on the partition are lost.

I wonder if anyone knows how to make auto-scrolling (particularly in browsers) smooth..ie. cut out the jerkiness.?

I have been using Opera for some time now, and it auto-scrolls just beautifully on my 98se. It makes browsing a real pleasure to be reading a page as it scrolls down slowly and silky smoothly.

I would like to be able to have the same degree of smoothness in Firebird(very jerky) and /or MyIE2 (less jerky, but still not usable to read while scrolling)
The reason for this is that I am now finding Opera so buggy, crashing so often that I want to get away from it, sadly I must say.

Any information on how to do this will be very gratefully received.

PcB.

Answer:how can I stop jerkiness in Browser auto-scrolling

If you are using smooth scrolling, the fix is to buy a faster processor. Smooth scrolling takes a lot of horsepower to so smoothly at any speed. I personally don't use smooth scrolling, I prefer to scroll by text rows, even with a fast processor.

My background is 3840 by 1080. I have 55 pictures in a Dropbox account of that size. When I click on one of the last ones, to make it background, or just to look at it... the scroll bar on the right goes right back up to the top.

Windows 8 and 8.1 did the same. It is so annoying, to always have to down to the bottom of the folder manually.

Windows 7 never did this. I wish they would make it as Windows 7 handled this..!

In System Properties I removed the Tick in the box for "Allow Remote invitations to be sent from this compter"

It says 2GB of Virtual memory, that means it's got 2 GB of RAM right?

Another question: The C:Drive says that only 10GB is being Used and 69.6 of free space.  Is that possible with an XP install, seems very small to me.

Greetings Honorable Geeks:major

As posted in recent weeks, had two destructive malware attacks which leveled me (Thank you TimW for helping me through) The one thing I noticed prior to the malware attacks - is a scrolling browser - so rapid difficult to even type - it is random- shuts down my emails as I type them, and close out any database I have open (work). It will shut down my emails as I type them. (actually just closed out this request for help).

Two weeks ago I finally got my system clean and reset up my system. All fine for a week - and now the rapid scrolling is starting again. I did observe a post in 2005 - that attributed this to a bad mouse - I can get a new mouse. Also the settings on my browser (pops up blocks) keeps turning the settings off. Yes I downloaded all I was suppose to. Have licensed copies of Avast and Mbam - showing no virus.

TimW (Hi TimW) that the Anti malware and anti virus did not protect emails/browser activity (I may have misunderstood). Is there any software I can download to run and or protect browser issues or threats? Thank you! Just trying to stay afloat Anyone else have this issue?

I don't understand alot of what you are saying. If you think you have got yourself reinfected then you will have to run through the usual procedures which you are familiar with. If it turns out that I am not finding malware then I will send you off to another forum to further discuss the problem.

Hi,

I don't remember seeing this when I first started Windows 7 so I must've accidentally enabled it somewhere. Don't know what it's called, so I couldn't do a proper search for it.

Basically, this tooltip shows up next to the scrollbar as I scroll up and down. It updates to show Explorer's topmost file in view, and I have no use for it.

Where can I disable this feature?

Thanks!

I open Windows Explorer with the Windows keyboard key plus "e". I begin navigating in the left pane to the desired folder by using the scroll bars and expanding folders by using the + at the left of folder names. Not every time but most times the left panel will scroll of its own volition. Up or down, it does not seem to be consistent. Then I have to go back to the scroll bar and return the left pane to the view I wanted and was at. This happens on my laptop at work and my desktop at home. How do I configure Windows Explorer to stay where I put it?

Thanks.

I own a Dell Dimension 8250 w/ Windows XP

Ever since I updated my computer to Internet Explorer 7 (from the most recent version, 6 or 6.2?), my scrolling has become very slow (scrolling down and up the webpage). I have no idea why either. Also, when I close the webpage, the actual webpage becomes white (goes away) and I'm left with my google search, command bar, address bar, you know... (as if you opened a pure white webpage) I have to go to task manager and "End Now". However, this does not always happen and I can close it normally (rarely happens). I tried downloading IE6.2 (or 6 whatever version it was), but it won't let me because it says a newer version of IE is already on the computer.

I'm not really sure if the problem is even from IE or if it's from some other program

Please help & thanks,

Mat

Welcome to the forum.

I can't answer your question ...
But to say that many of us have had to roll back to IE6.
I also switched to FireFox for my main "explorer"

IF you want to try rolling back to IE 6 ...
go to Add Remove > check the box that says "show updates" ...
Find and remove the IE 7 update >>> and reboot.

Windows Explorer in Windows 7 is aggravating me. In the left panel, when I click on the little + sign to expand a folder to show its subfolders, Windows Explorer scrolls the selected main folder to the bottom of the panel. I then have to scroll the expanded list of subfolders up the screen so I can see it. Windows Explorer does this most, but not all, of the time. How can I keep Windows Explorer from scrolling the list to the bottom of the panel? Is there a way to get Windows Explorer to put the line with the name of the expanded main folder at the top of the panel? Thanks.Steve

Answer:Windows Explorer unwanted scrolling

That's a known "bug" in the RTM (Released To Manufacturing) version of Windows 7 without SP1 installed. So installing SP1 might fix it. SP1 is normally delivered via Automatic Updates.

The scroll bars at side of pages, be they Word, email (uses word) or explorer start jumping up and down for no reason and render programmes unuseable. Its settled just for the moment. Going back to basics, PSU giving steady o/p volts - have checked for over-heating - fans all working - PC clean out, but fact that has just stopped is a coincidence because it started again briefly a few moments ago. Is this a bug within Internet Explorer, or is there a way to overcome this within the program itself.

My computer is an HP Pavilion dv6000 running Vista Ultimate 64 bit. I recently had a hard drive replaced and the OS reinstalled.

This morning I was irritated to find that my IE is very choppy when scrolling. I looked this problem up online, and I tried the couple of ideas I read about...mainly making sure that "smooth scrolling" was checked in a couple places.

Also, the laptop seemed hotter than usual when I was using it. I downloaded SIW, and the temperatures are as follows:
ACPI - 121 F (50 C)
AMD - 116 F (47 C)
NVIDIA - 156 F (69 C)

Anyone have any ideas? Thanks!

Answer:Internet Explorer scrolling is choppy and laptop seems hot

I am not familiar with temperature systems in computers but If you feel that is hotter than before, then that could be the reason for slowing down(I guess you meant "choppy" for slow). Anyway if this is the reason, then not only IE, some other programs also has to slow down. Check that and if that is true, please move this to the Hardware section

Using a Logitech Laser mouse, which came with the LX710, there is an issue when attempting to scroll through a long list of files inside Windows Explorer while using the wheel. The cursor jumps to the end, or to the beginning, but will not stop in between. On the other hand, if I access a long list of Word files directly through Word, the wheel functions perfectly.

Hello everyone,

My fiance just got her first Windows 10 laptop recently, and the behaviour of Explorer is driving her nuts. The navigation pane on the left will not scroll horizontally (neither with a horizontal scrollbar nor auto-scrolling as it did in previous versions of Windows), or at least we can't find the right option to enable either:

This is pretty unusable as it is, so I'm hoping that someone can suggest something. She will switch to an alternate file manager (we've seen recommendations for Classic Shell and xplorer2) if necessary, but would prefer to stick with the Windows 10 file explorer if possible.

Thanks to everyone!

Answer:How to get horiz scrolling in Navigation Pane in Win 10 Explorer

linuxgarou said:

Welcome to TenForums @linuxgarou

One suggestion would be to hover the mouse over the dividing line between the navigation pane and the list of files (it's the right-hand edge of the navigation pane's vertical scroll bar). When the pointer becomes a double-headed arrow you can click-and-drag to make the navigation pane wider.

I have mine set to about twice the width of the one in your screenshot.

Edit: and so apparently does Ztrucker in the following post.

Answer:Internet Explorer scrolling is choppy and laptop seems hot

Temps are not that bad, but they could be lower, and lower is definitely better. However please be aware that these models suffer from overheating and eventual complete failure. You need to update the BIOS to help negate this problem. Also after updating the BIOS you can also buy a can of compressed air and blow out the fans and vents to ensure proper airflow.

Go here and find your exact model; this will be printed on the bottom of the laptop: http://www8.hp.com/ca/en/support-drivers.html

Also install the NVIDIA chipset and graphics driver from the HP website, or possibly newer ones from NVIDIA themselves if the HP ones are dated or don't help: http://www.nvidia.com/object/nforce_vista_win7_64bit_15.49.html

Since you also had this laptop reloaded, did they reinstall the Vista service packs as well? You should be running Service Pack 2 for Vista. You can check this by going to the Control Panel and then to System.

Also, these laptops came with a 32 bit version of Windows Vista Home Premium, did you or they mistaken install the 64 bit version instead of the 32 bit version? The 64bit version requires more RAM to run as well as the 32 bit version and these laptops generally shipped from HP with 1GB or 2GB of RAM, how much RAM do you have?

Hi
I've Dell Inspiron 1564, Windows 7 Ultimate and everything was working fine until I installed UXStyle Core Beta and a custom theme. Now my left and right arrow keys are scrolling within a row but at the end of a row of files/ folders in windows explorer but its not going on to next row with right arrow and previous row with left arrow. I checked scrolling between lines in MS Word and everything's fine there. I've even tried switching back to default windows theme.

Any help?

Hi, I have a problem with Outlook Express & Internet Explorer acting erratically lately. When I try to scroll on the side bar arrow it moves real fast to the bottom and all buttons I try to click in the tool bar also are acting erratically in that sometimes I have to click two or three times (ex: clicking the delete button etc.) . It does the same thing while in Internet Explorer. When trying to scroll in that I am unable to scroll as it moves quickly to the bottom of the screen no matter how slow I try to go. I have smooth scrolling checked in the options box and this just started happening all of a sudden. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I have goggled and done al the thongs commonly posted out there with no change.
When viewing scrolled down a list of folders moving the folder I want up to a level where I want it on screen, then opening the folder to view the content inside, when I back out of this folder the lish has now scrolled the folder to the bottom of the screen. I want the scrolled position to be as I left it.

I have unchecked accent color and other various so called fixes seen on the Webb. I have a laptop running Win10 Home x64 and a Desktop running Win10 Pro x64 and they both do the same thing.

I would owe someone if they helped me fix it without Classic Shell. Have Registry Experience, Will Travel.

Example: You have a folder open with pictures in it. The Explorer window for said window is in List view mode, and at least 2 rows are visible. The file you want to open is in the 2nd row. When you click the file, it automatically scrolls the list so that the file you selected is in the left-most row, rendering any double-click on the 2nd or subsequent rows ineffective. Instead of opening the file, it selects the file, immediately scrolls it's row back, selects the new file that has scrolled into that row in the same position and scrolls it back as well.

Is it possible to institute a small delay on the automatic scrolling to allow for double-clicking or disable the behavior entirely?

Sorry if this has been covered before, I couldn't find any relevant info through searching.

Couple of questions: Does anyone know if it is possible to have something like a slideshow of photos of my choosing as the live tile for the photos app? I don't like how it sometimes cycles screenshots I've taken and I don't want to delete them. I saw you can select a single image as the live tile, but I'm looking more for something like in WP where you can select your favourites and it will use them as the live tile.
Also, does anyone know how to get the bing image of the day on lock screen? I can't remember where it was.

Answer:Change photo tile image in 8.1/Also bing image on lock screen

It looks like the live tile uses photo's from the Camera Album. If you put only the Photo's you want to see on your livetile in that album it should do the trick.

Hi everyone,

This is my first post here. I just got a Dell XPS 8300 with Windows Professional 64-bit. So far, most everything seems to be working normally. However, in Windows Explorer (which I use a lot), the left-side Navigation Pane is getting all screwed up visually when I scroll.

As an aside, I would really like to turn off smooth scrolling in Windows Explorer, but can't figure out how to do it. I have "smooth-scroll list boxes" unchecked, but it doesn't seem to help. I can get TweakUI for XP to run in compatibility mode either (someone on another forum was able to use that to disable smooth scrolling). I wonder if the animated smooth scrolling is causing the problem.

Different types of scrolling cause different degrees of the problem, but it happens nearly all the time. Hitting F5 will clean up the screen, but I would rather figure out what's causing the screen repaint problems.

I've attached a screenshot of what's happening.

I've done many searches (on this forum and other places) and not seen much, if any, people talking about this.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Chris

If you can get to Task Manager go to File/New Task(run) and type SFC /scannow the Windows File Protection window pops up. You may need your Windows CD for this. It will now copy any missing system files from the disc. If this fails I would format and reinstall Windows.

I've noticed a recent problem on both of my Sony Vaio machines running Windows XP. I have IE 6.0 installed on both machines and have downloaded all windows patches and driver updates for my PCs.

The problem involves scrolling text boxes, such as you would find on any web-based email service, such as Yahoo! Mail or Hotmail. The text box is the box that appears when you go to reply to an email. It is basically the place where you edit text to be sent in a reply email. When I try to scroll up, either page-by-page or single line, the text keeps jumping down to the bottom of the message. Scrolling down doesn't produce any problems.

Needless to say, this can be quite annoying. Has anyone else experienced this problem?

Answer:Textbox scrolling problem in Internet Explorer for Win XP on Sony Vaio Machines

I have a Sony Vaio and have never experienced this problem. However, I did have a friend that did on his machine (not a vaio) and it was due to incorrect mouse drivers.

Are your drivers current?

I just recently purchased an Lenovo X200 Tablet and whenever I scroll down the page in Internet Explorer, I get intermittent freezing or stuttering. The stutter/pause happens for about 3-10 seconds and then resumes to scroll. It appears to happen mostly on pages such as Amazon.com or Ebay.com and despite having the webpage fully downloaded, it still occurs scrolling up and down the same page. I tried updating my wireless network drivers thinking it could be poor wireless internet reception but it still occurs; there doesn't appear to be anything wrong with my router or internet broadband as I tested it on another computer.  I don't know if it has any relationship to the "buzzing" or "whining" noise, Centrino whine that people have spoken of in the forums, that I also hear with my computer when it's extremely quiet. If anyone has experience or can advise what's going on, I'd appreciate it.

Answer:Intermittent Freezing and Stutter while scrolling webpage in Internet Explorer on X200T

I would try using a different browser first like firefox to make sure it isn't an issue with IE and not something else. I personally do not use IE as the default browser and have never experienced such issues in firefox with my X200 tablet. let us know the results.

I have the option for 'Show lock screen background picture on the sign-in screen' enabled, but every time I get to the sign-in screen the only image that is ever displayed is the default 'beach from inside a cave' picture. My current settings are that it will choose images as a slideshow from a specific folder which definitely does not have the beach picture in it, and it works just fine for the lock screen itself.

EDIT: I changed the lock-screen settings to only use a picture instead and it worked just fine, but now the lock screen only shows that image, not a slideshow, regardless of settings. Is having the sign-in screen as a slideshow even possible?

Answer:How to change sign-in screen image to an image of my choosing?

I think you can only have one picture. I tried it in my settings, but I don't see any option to have a slideshow.

I need to press the on/off button to log out and then I am out of commission for a few hours.  Any idea what could be the problem?  Diagnostic tests run come with with nothing wrong.

Does this happen if you try a different mouse?

Hi Guys

64 Bit Processor 4 Gb Ram and only one Program Open

But I seem to be getting Screen Lag for some reason.

If I go to Type something or even Click on something on the page, the little blue progress Circle near the Mouse Point, just spins round and round, sometimes for as much as 30 seconds (sometimes more!)

And then when its Stopped doing that, it seems a bit 'Glitchy' when Scrolling.

Any Ideas?

Hello, just wondering if anyone could help resolving choppy scrolling in IE11. When I scroll using the touchpad on the laptop, the cursor pointer comes up with the little blue spinning wheel (hourglass back in the day) like the computer is processing something. The pages scrolls but it's very lazy and I have to swipe across the whole touchpad area to just make the page to move few rows. Same issue when ctrl+scroll is used to magnify the page, same choppiness.troubleshooting done:- When I use the vertical scroll bar the page scrolls just fine- installed two Other browsers, no issue there- disabled smooth scrolling, no change- tried all drivers available

I will notice that my mouse pointer will split in two and when this happens I know the screen will start scrolling very fast soon. When it does this I have no contol over and it goes so fast everything is just a blur . The only way for me to get it to stop is reboot and it may not happen again for a couple of weeks. I have updated the video driver , replaced the motherboard, palm rest , LCD panel,LCD cable ,LCD cover ( all replaced under warranty) . I have updated the Bios and touchpad driver , not sure what else I could do. Would greatly appreciate on any advice on a fix. Thanks!!

PC is running XP with Pentium 3.2GH. 1GB RAM and Service Pack 2. Having installed Flight Sim 2004 on my new PC it was OK until yesterday, on starting FS the screen started to scroll upwards, about 1 per second. I have unistalled and reinstalled the program - the only way to stop it is to use CTRL-ALT-DEL. The settings are 32 bit and 1024x768 resolution. (I have tried others). The monitor is OK as an older version of FS works OK from another PC. All other programs on the new PC work OK. Any offers gratefully accepted. Thanks Dave

Answer:Screen scrolling when trying to use MS Flight Sim

have you gone onto microsofts site and dowloaded all the operating system updates including flight sim 2004 updates.

computer:Dell inspiron 1720 laptop
Graphics card: GeForce 8600M GT
OS: Windows 7
TV: 42" vizio with VGA input, labeled RGB

I was able to essentially "plug and play" to get an image on the TV, requiring only to adjust the simple multiple display option. When i hook it up however the screen scrolls continuously from bottom to top. I have tried all i know how to do and am simply stumped. If anyone has any ideas it would be immensely appreciated.

Answer:scrolling screen on tv through VGA what's wrong?

What resolution are you using?

Do you have the issue if you lower the resolution?

I hope somebody can help.

My dad has a newly purchased Compaq laptop which runs Microsoft Vista.

Something very strange is happening and I don't know what is causing it.

As I don't use Vista myself I'll try and describe the problem as best I can.

Dad says that when he opens his document folder the right scroll bar goes down to the bottom of the screen! If he tries to scroll back up it automatically scrolls back down again! At first I thought that the scroll lock was on but it isn't.

All applications etc are working ok which makes me think there is possibly some setting which needs changing.

Can somebody help?

Thanks

Dave
