Preferred Solution: Missing battery details in Lenovo Companion - Yoga 3 1470

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

In the past 24 hours, my Thinkpad p50s Lenovo Companion "Battery Threshhold and Battery Reset" options are missing.  They simply disappeared. I rebooted to no avail.  I checked the other options to see if I selected any that may remove these two but, all is good.  Anyone experiencing this and have a solution?

Since my last update of the Lenovo Companion on my T470 I have lost the ability to modify my battery's charge thresholds. Is there a way for me to get access to this setting again ? This feature allow me to increase my battery's lifespan (https://support.lenovo.com/fr/fr/solutions/ht078208) I have tried applying the following method in my registry settings, but it's not always working : https://www.lenardgunda.com/thinkpad-battery-charging-thresholds/ I also appreciated being able to visualize the battery comsumption and number of cycles in lenovo settings but seem to have lost the ability to visualize this information too

Since you have to hunt around different Lenovo sites (and other sites) to find out about these softwares, I decided to make a post to get feedback from actual Yoga owners on how these programs interact, what they do, which ones are prerequisite, and which ones are unnecessary. Please don't take this as a blanket answer. This is just what I have found. It might be right - it might be wrong. I'm looking for others to post their experiences as well. Lenovo System Interface Foundation Driver - Necessary prerequisite (missing driver in device manager without it). It allows the Lenovo Utility and Lenovo Companion to work. Lenovo Yoga Mode Control - Necessary if you want to use your yoga to seemlessly change between all the different modes (laptop, tablet, tent, stand). This software is responsible for autorotating and putting Windows into tablet mode. Lenovo Utility - Recommended(?) This one I'm not too sure on. I remember that I was missing some function that I wanted but I can't remember what it was now. Maybe battery cycle count and health? Lenovo Companion - I don't have this one installed and don't think it's necessary but would like someone else to shed some light here.

Hello, When I am charging my laptop, sometimes it charge and not. Its really trouble me when the battery reached less than 10%, then I plug in power, the Battery Low Notification always showed up (because the charging is intermittent). I've tried several ways which are told by this forum, like instal new BIOS (the latest on internet), or uninstal-instal battery driver on Hardware Manager, but it didnt work. I affraid if this continously happen, it will affect my battery function. Btw, I am using windows 8.1.Have any thoughts to fix that?Or maybe its a problem in the mechanic? Best regards.

To start, I have seen the thread about a high pitched noise issue with this device's fan, and I don't think my problem is the same one. I have an ongoing issue with my Yoga 3 (full specs below), where for most of the time that the fan is spinning, it makes a loud grinding noise as if there's something stuck in the fan or the blade is off balance. I've only had the laptop for six months and it wasn't a problem when I bought it - it's developed since. The fan still seems to cool the laptop properly, and I've had no warnings from the device, but it's audible in quieter rooms and definitely isn't normal. I've installed the BIOS update that was recommended for a similar fan issue, and I've used OneKey Optimiser to run the fan cleaning tool several times - nothing has changed so far. I'm not sure what to do next. Should I attempt to open the machine and clean the fan unit with compressed air/investigate further, or should I contact someone about a repair? Thanks Aaron

Answer:Lenovo Yoga 3 1470 Fan Grinding Noise

Hi aaroncawte ,

Welcome to the Community Forums.

As what you have already described , seems that you have done what is needed fro the fan noise issue.
Noting that the issue is mechanical in nature , please give tech support a call for the needed service .
No need to open the chassis for further steps not to invalidate the seal / warranty and have the tech run further check.

You can however run Lenovo Solution Center for the hardware test just to check on other parts that can also be affected and likewise temperature check at the moment of the noise for baseline data.

My Lenovo was purchased back in 2015, so the warrenty is expired. Still, up until recently the touchscreen had been working fine. Now, no matter what mode it is in, it doesn't detect my touch. I have gone through every Google-searched solution I could find, none have worked.I have gone to device manager, checked the drivers for updates (they are up to date) but the window doesnt allow me to Disable/Enable the driver. I've used the lenovo website, the companion app and my windows control panel to check for updates but no changes to the touch screen. Running Windows 10 (64x) Solutions, or links to other form posts are appreciated.

Answer:Lenovo Yoga 3 1470 Touchscreen Unresponsive

- Press Windows+X.
- Select Device Manager.
- Find the Touchscreen driver under Mice and Other Pointing Devices>USB Touchscreen Controller (A111).  You're going to uninstall this and check the box that says "Delete the driver software for this device".  Don't worry, it won't blow up your computer.

- Restart your computer.
- Re-open the Device Manager, and confirm that the Touchscreen is now listed under Human Interface Devices.

Hi, yestarday I was using my laptop with several opened applications and 1 hangouts video call active.Well, the CPU has decided to freeze at 0.5 GHz due to the generated heat. The laptop of course became unusable, so I closed everything and restarted the system. Once the reboot was completed I noticed that frequency was still at 0.5 GHz. Then I ran an Ubuntu live usb and I checked the CPU: again, still at 0.5GHz. I came back to Windows 10, I made a bit of research and I used ThrottleStop. I unticked the BD Prochot and then the laptop came back to life with frequency at 2.9 GHz (for the sake of precision it works even without turning on Throttle stop...you only need to launch the app and untick the prochot). Now, the problem is that I can use the laptop with all its capabilities only after I run Throttle stop. In all the other cases, even when I boot my laptop, frequency is at 0.5 GHz (and you understand it is working at low frequency because it lags a lot). Investigating a bit, I found that only motherboard replacement can fix this issue.....really? What do you think? Do you any kind of solution?

Hi guys, I am opening this post because I think that it could be useful to everyone who would like to solve several issues related to this laptop. I think that it is a really good notebook but it needs a lot of work to have it working in a proper way.So first of all I am posting here a link of a doc in which I am monitoring several issues I encountered and how I solved them. I know that it is not very easy to read it because its style is personal notes-like but I am sharing it anyone...probably someone can find the information it needs.Lenovo Yoga 3 1470 80JH monitoring doc

Answer:Lenovo Yoga 3 - 1470 (80JH) - General issues to so...

In this second post I am sharing the configuration to use with Notebook Fan Control software (probably some of you already know about this software if you hate the noise which fans of this laptop are able to do!). I added of course some considerations I noticed in preparing this config. Here we are... Yoga 3 1470 80JH using Windows 10 and NBFC 1.4.2.I appreciated a lot the work done by Mr. Cheeze but I found it incomplete, so I basically investigated the issue a bit more.I did not open the notebook but I found online that it is equipped with 2 fans. So, first step was adding the 2nd fan. Then I started to investigate if we can effectively control the fans and the answer is NO, but we can play a bit to force them to have a behavior. My target was only one: REDUCE the FANS NOISE and consequently their speed, because I think that this laptop is almost able to work in fanless mode (and believe me I stress it a lot, especially in terms of multitasking). Before showing my personal code to be used in NBFC I am giving you some information I retrieved by the Read&Write software (32bit version works well).?When Fans starts HEX values show up at position 6 and 254. These are the 2 actual speed values of the fans.?The target values (so where you have to write the desired fans speed) are in position 86 and 176. I am not totally sure if they are the effective position to write but they seem the only position which considerably vary according to the change of... Read more

Hello, I have a Lenovo Yoga 3-1470 64-bit, which was originally windows 8. After updating to windows 10, the audio (Conexant HD Audio) starts to have some problems, such as the need to keep restarting my laptop to get the audio back. Recently it has gotten worse, hence I decided to uninstall the Conexant HD Audio driver from my device manager, with the hope that I can reinstall the updated windows 10 Conexant HD Audio driver. But after uninstalling, I found out that I cannot reinstall it back. The device driver installation wizard will only install for 2 - 3%, then a messagebox ERROR will appear stating that "Driver Installation Failed: Could not find the device for this driver." I have tried installing windows 8 and 10 versions of the Conexant HD Audio Drivers, but they do not work. Currently, my audio isn't working anymore. Can anyone help me, Thank you very much.

Hi All, I have just setup a Yoga 3-1470 laptop with Windows 10 (Pro). Whilst the install went smoothly I had to install a number of device drivers manually, either by working out the device IDs (Device Manager > Double Click Unknown Device > Details (tab) > Hardware IDs (Property)), or by selecting the 'Search automatically for updated drivers' option (again using Device Manager). One Unknown Device is still causing me issues, as I have not been able to find a driver through an Internet Search, and the 'Search automatically for updated drivers' option isn't working either. The Hardware IDs for the driver are as follows -  If anybody can offer any advice on how to install the driver for this final device it will be greatly appreciated. Kind Regards, Davo

Answer:Yoga 3-1470 missing device driver after Windows 10 (Pro) upgrade

If you are still having this problem, it's an easy one to fix.Go to the Lenovo drivers page for the laptop. Then look for the "Lenovo Paper display" driver for Windows 8.1Don't worry about it being a Windows 8 driver. It will work and resolve this issue.

I bought my laptop in 2015 and unwarranted, I'd like some help to get full functionality back into my laptop. While the subject states my problem, I do have some ways of getting use out of the computer:It can turn on if the battery is fully drained and after the computer is plugged in; it takes 8 days to drain. Hi there! Need help. Obviously. Hope people still look at this fourm... I have a Lenovo Yoga 3 1470 Laptop. It's been a year since I've looked at this so now I'm revisiting as I'm thinking of purchasing another notebook/2-in-1. I'm currenly using a yoga2 pro with two RavPower 23000mAH external power banks for longer run times while traveling and during power outages. With hurricane Irma, I'm thinking that power will again be an issue when choosing my next laptop. (The yoga2 pro is starting to get a little bit slow for me and I would like the new machine to have a TPM so I don't have to use an external USB key for bitlocker encryption of the drive.) Are there external "power companion" external battery options to extend the runtime of the yoga 910 now?

Have had a Flex 5 1470 for 2 weeks and today for several hours I ran into this issue where whether it was connected to power or working on battery power I could use the laptop only for around 3-4 minutes before it woud unexpectatly shut off (literally an immediate BLACK screen). I could then power it back on and continue to work for another 3-4 minutes before this would happen again. I downloaded a CPU thermometer and heating was not the issue (was operating well below the operating temperature for the i7).  Any ideas of what was going on? What might have caused this issue and more importantly how to resolve this issue? Your feedback is appreciated!

How to recall a missed message from Companion? I just bought  a Yoga 3 Pro and was trying to familiarizing me to the new system. There was a frist message in Companion with something like "Introduction to the Yoga 3 Pro and what the most important steps to do". Once the message is opened and you click somewhere else, the message is gone. Thanks for help.

Answer:Yoga 3 Pro Companion / Lenovo Messenger

Its not really a helpful message, if thats any comfort.
The message might come back if you restart your laptop or maybe tomorrow. I have seen that happen in mine.

Also, a tip, do not use the Lenovo OKO to ever make your laptop faster/cleaner. It will make it worse. I did that and then had to roll back the changes.

I decided to use my Lenovo Companion software for the first time since upgrading to Windows 10 a few months ago. The computer has been working fine but I thought I should give it a checkup after all this time The Companion utility required me to update to the Lenovo System Foundation which I downloaded and installed. After a reboot, I ran "Optimize Your Ideapad" -> checkup from the Lenovo Companion utility, which identified 6 items to be optimized. I clicked Optimize, rebooted the machine and ran the utility again and it identified the same 6 items to be optimized.  I clicked Optimize for a second time but this pattern just repeats, nothing actually seems to get optimized. The utility seems to accomplish nothing. Now I have a new problem. When I'm using my computer on battery and I plug in the AC adaptor, it locks up every time. I assume this is due to updating the Lenovo System Foundation and/or using the utility to optimize my computer, because i never had this problem before I stupidly decided to trust this piece of crapware. I intend to use Windows System Restore to roll back prior to all of this, and then uninstall Lenovo Companion altogether.  The Lenovo System Foundation and Lenovo Companion aren't required components for the notebook to run, are they?

I have a T440s which I bought in July 2014. It is out of warranty. Lenovo companion reports my "primary" battery is "BAD" but says absolutey nothing else even though it reports a full charge. In fact the lenovo battery icon in the corner of my display shows battery is green and 100%. I'd like to understand whether this battery is bad in the sense that it should be removed from the computer immediately, or whether it has detected that it is no longer holding a full charge and could be left there. I am almost always at the desktop in a docking station so I don't need the full charge. I don't understand why all they report is "Bad". Any suggestions as to how I might find more or if it is just reporting lower capacity and nothing more? Also, it was kind of confusing which battery they meant when they said "primary" is bad. I could see an argument that either is the primary battery. Better to have used the terms integrated and removable. I removed the removable battery and reran the test to determine the primary battery is actually the integrated battery. I think the service person said the opposite. The lenovo companion page that reports the battery is BAD has a link for more information and it goes to a general lenovo webpage that has nothing to do with support. They are trying to get me to apply for a lenovo credit card I think. Its so disgraceful how they dropped the ball on this one. Alex

The newest Intel Video Driver that Lenovo Companion has made available (21.20.16.4678) has an issue ive found that wasnt present in the previous one, and is not present in a newer version (22.20.16.4718) installed automatically through Windows 10 after uninstalling the driver through "Add or remove programs". The bug is that certian (maybe all?) OpenGL applications seem slightly zoomed in. I tested this with Genymotion VM's, after the install of the new driver they all seemed to run as if the window border diddnt exist, clipping the edges of what is shown in the window (much more noticable at the top due to the title bar). Ive restored from backups and manually installed that driver from Lenovos driver download page for this system and the same issue occures. While its possible its an incompatibility with that software, it is not present in the newer drivers (this "new" driver is actually alwready old) so it might be worth pushing a newer driver.

Following a clean install of Windows 10, the Lenovo Companion app was reinstalled. The User Guide section is selected   Screen refreshes only to tell me that the document can't be found and displays a url for the Lenovo support website.  I've downloaded the relevant User guide, but unsure where it needs to be stored for the Lenovo Companion app to detect and display it. Could somebody more knowledgeable provide me with the filepath & filename please? Minor loose end I'd like to tidy up.Gracias ThinkPad Amigos.

Soon after I installed Lenovo Companion I noticed that my E570 is charging all the way to 100%. At first I thought I needed to re-enter the parameters so I did that but it would appear that the charge threshold values (start charging at 50% and stop charging at 60% in my case) are still not being respected. The threshold is definitely set to ON. Does anyone else have the same problem?

Hello everyone, I hope I'll be able to find some help here. I'm looking for the M.2 details in both TPY 15 and TPY 460. Especially: 1. Is the M.2 NVMe supported in TPY 15?2. Is the M.2 NVMe supported in TPY 460?3. Can I use Samsung 950 Pro M.2 in TPY 15?4. Can I use Samsung 950 Pro M.2 in TPY 460? I'm also trying to make a final decision between 15 and 460 so I made a list of pros and cons:(+) Yoga 15 pros:- 15,6" screen- possibility to use both 2.5" SSD and M.2 SSD. I'm planning to use Samsung 850 EVO 500GB (data) + Samsung 950 Pro M.2 256GB (system) combo. Does it makes sense? Is it possible? I've seen on the Yoga documentation that Lenovo doesn't recommend using M.2 as the booting drive.- max 16GB of RAM- design, build quality etc..(-) Yoga 15 cons:- Not Skylake- No UHD screen- No DDR4- No pen(+) Yoga 460 pros:- Skylake!- WQHD (2560 x 1440) screen- active pen bay(-) Yoga 460 cons:- I'm not sure if both M.2 SSD and 2,5" SSD can be used. Can it? Is it possible to use Samsung 850 EVO 500GB (data) + Samsung 950 Pro M.2 256GB (system) combo?- only 14"- probably higher price- max 8GB RAM. I've heard 16GB works good too, is that true?- No DDR4. Really? How comes it's Skylake and still LPDDR3? Isn't it a huge performance step back?So... it's not an easy decision. Plus I've never seen either of the models in real. Basically what makes 460 better in my point of view is the Skylake platform and the WQHD screen. What about the build quality? I did a Acronis disk restore and it messed up my push-button-restore and Intel Rapid Start functionalities.  The latter was fixed by correcting the GUID for the 8GB iRST partition.  But the push-button-restore still doesn't work. My partitions are set as following per the other posts on this forum:Partition 1 = 1GB = Restore = de94bba4-06d1-4d40-a16a-bfd50179d6acPartition 2 = 260MB = System = c12a7328-f81f-11d2-ba4b-00a0c93ec93bPartition 3 = 1GB = OEM = bfbfafe7-a34f-448a-9a5b-6213eb736c22Partition 4 = 128MB = Reserved = e3c9e316-0b5c-4db8-817d-f92df00215aePartition 5 = 100GB = Windows8 = ebd0a0a2-b9e5-4433-87c0-68b6b72699c7Partition 6 = 8GB = iRST = d3bfe2de-3daf-11df-ba40-e3a556d89593Partition 7 = 8GB = PBR = de94bba4-06d1-4d40-a16a-bfd50179d6ac Problem:- Even though I set Partition 3 GUID to bfbfafe7-a34f-448a-9a5b-6213eb736c22, it still doesn't say "OEM"- Also, Acronis also messed up all of my GPT Attributes for every partition (all set to 0000000000000000). Where I need help:Please use "diskpart", "select disk 0", "select partition 1" (1 through 7), and help me with a print out of the "detail partition" of the 7 partitions?  I want to check the correct attribute settings. I believe most of them are 0x8000000000000001. Thank you so much!

Hello Folks,After having received a new Yoga 3 14 yesterday I noticed that there were a lot of screen ghosting issues, especially when using high contrast apps or leaving apps on the screen. Even when the system is booting the afterimages are there and persistent, and continue to build on top of each other. I have already rolled back and updated the graphics card, updated the BIOs, installed the firmware update to fix ghost touches etc. but the afterimages of chrome and the taskbar and explorer windows remain, only leaving the computer off for several hours solves but I don't believe that to be a pragmatic solution. If anyone else has had this issue or has fixed it please comment!

The battery status toggles between not charging, not used, and unauthorized battery after it was calibrated using one key. Before that, the battery was working perfectly, lasting close to 5 hours. Now the laptop shuts off when unplugged and the battery status is constantly changing. I've had this laptop for approximately a year now and it was unused and left in an unopened box for the first 8 months.

Answer:Lenovo Yoga 500: battery status toggles between not charging, not used, and unauthorized battery

Hi, Denkendale ?

Thank you for writing in to the Lenovo Forum - happy to have you here today.

Do this test -

1) Switch off the laptop.
2) Disconnect power supply. Keep the battery connected.
3) Try to Turn ON the laptop.

If the laptop does not turn ON, the battery is faulty.

Also, Try turning the laptop off, removing the battery, unplug the AC adapter, press and hold the power button for thirty seconds, install the battery back into the laptop but don't connect the power cable and try to start the laptop on battery power.

Update us how it goes.

My Yoga 3 Pro-1370 does not detect its own battery. At the lower right of the screen, it appears the battery sign empty and crossed by a diagonal line. When I click on it the message "The battery is not used" appears.  OneKey Optimizer says: "No battery is present". Please see two images attached. Got the laptop and the battery inspected by a professional but he couldn't fix the problem. He himself updated the Bios, Windows, cleaned the inside and the fan of the computer but the problem is still there. Please provide me with a solution ASAP.

Hi everybody i hope you are all doing great. Laptop Details:Lenovo Y50-70 Laptop (Lenovo) 203784720hq512ssd960m16gb ram I made a clean install to my lenovo laptop so I lost some essential applications that came with my laptop. I installed almost all the drivers and apps at lenovo driver support download page without problems but i could not find some of lenovo apps that came in my laptop when i bought it and I really need them. The only one available in the driver download page were Lenovo energy manger. The most importants for me that i need are lenovo onekey recovery app and lenovo updates. For onekey recovery I only need the app, not the files to restore the whole partition, because the recovery partition is intact, I did not format it. So I only need the app that opens it. Th apps I want to get back are:1. Lenovo Onekey Recovery app - The one I am more interested in.2. "Lenovo Updates' (lenovo updates is the name of the app) The scond one im am more interested in.3. Lenovo Settings4. Lenovo companion If someone can guide me to where to download each of them, it would be great. I would need for windows 8.1 64 bit or windows 10. Thank You, I hope you can help me.

Answer:Where do I download Lenovo Y50 Onekey Recovery, Lenovo Settings. "Lenovo updates", Lenovo Companion?

Go to the Windows Store and do a search on "Lenovo."   You will find almost all the apps you need are available there.

I recieved my Lenovo Thinkpad Yoga 11e a couple of days ago and it came with a lot of bloatware, or at least what I thought was. I started uninstalling a lot and everything seemed to work fine. I restarted it, but when it came back, I noticed the touch screen would not work. I went into the Device Manager and realized that one of my I2C drivers had the triangle with the exclamation was on one of them. After trial and error, I realized that disabling and re-enabling the driver would allow my touch screen to work. After a restart, however, I was back to square one. My wife bought her the same Lenovo Yoga and I have been compairing the two. I just noticed that I am missing the I2C controllers in the System Devices in the Device Manager as well. I have tried booting from an installation from hers and even copying the drivers and System32 folder to no avail. If anybody has any solutions, please help. I have tried everything I knew and everything I could find. Thanks in advance.

Answer:Lenovo Thinkpad Yoga 11e missing I2C driver. Drivers from lenovo website not working.

Hello and welcome,

What happens when you install the i2c driver for your machine?  Before doing so please verify the machine type (20D9, 20DA) as there's another machine type option available.  Downloads found by using SUPPORT above and entering Yoga 11e.

Hi,  I've had my lenovo yoga 3 1470 for just over a year, and so unfortunately I'm out of warranty.  I am running Windows 10. All of a sudden, I have no audio at all on my laptop; the task bar icon has a red cross next to it, and either says 'no audio device is installed' or 'no speakers or headphones are plugged in'.  I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling drivers, and even a clean install of Windows 10, but nothing has fixed the problem.  The powerbeep in the BIOS settings still makes a sound, so is this a motherboard issue? How can I get it fixed? I am not particularly computer-savvy, but would appreciate any help at all, thank you.

The lab in israel thought replacing the screen will do the trick but it didnt. i fixed it without their help a few weeks after when one of your tech support uploaded a fix file for the problem. then, a few months ago the laptop started shuting down for no apperent reason. i sent it back to lab and the thought replacing the motherbored and my charger will fix the problem. but i still experience these shutdowns today. by now my warrenty is gone, so i doubt if calling your support in israel will help me in any way, so i hope maybe this messge will help.

Hello, I currently have some issues with my yoga 3 - 1470 (i5, 4Go). The laptop crashes at random, very often. In addition to that, it won't turn on. Or more precisely, it will turn on randomly, again. Here are some details:-----I have got blue screens (crashes) since about a week. IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL, SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION, CRITICAL_PROCESS_DIED, ... This seems to occur at random.Mostly when I'm asking a lot from the computer. Once the computer has shut down, it simply wont turn back on. When I press the Start button, the power light and the keyboard turn on, and I can hear the fans. After 1 to 2 seconds at most, the keyboard and the fans stops. The power light stays on, but nothing happens. The screen stays black, I can't hear the fans (I hear them when the laptop is on). After a random amount of time left alone, the computer finaly accepts to turn on.------    Here are my investigations:------Even if the description of the problem screams 'HARDWARE', I first tried to see if it were not some software problem. I formated the computer to reinstall windows 10. Same. I then tried to reset the computer to factory state (built-in recovery tools). Same. In the same time, I performed the lenovo tests. Both from windows, and from the UEFI bootable tester that we can download from lenovo's support. All green. I performed every tests (extended). Answer:Yoga 3 - 1470 (80JH) - Hardware problem

Hi CreiZyz, Sorry to hear that you're having troubles with your computer. I agree that it may be a possible issue with the RAM since you have already performed the tests. I also believe it is more of a HW issue, rather than SW wise. It may not just be the RAM that has a problem so I do suggest to have that checked thoroughly on the center.1) I am a french student, in Scotland. And I bought the laptop in France just before going to Scotland. My first question is then: can I handle this situation from Scotland? Can I contact UK support, can I ship from UK, do I ship to UK or to FR?In regards to your issue, if the unit was purchased from France and you're currently at Scotland, the best way is to contact UK support. I've also checked the International Warranty Services (IWS), that your model is supported in UK. 2) I need a computer. I am currently studying computer science. It is my work tool. Also, I am abroad and have no support here. I can't afford not having a computer for 1 month or more, and I can't afford buying something in the mean time.If I'm not mistaken, they can service it and they should have parts for your model. It also depends on the parts availability. If the parts are not available, they may need to outsource it and there may be some delays as well. I have bought a 4Go version of this computer, and I will need at some point to upgrade the RAM to 8Go. When I do that, I will want to buy some known brand in memory (crucial, kingston) with long... Read more

It seems that the wifi is deactivate and I can't manage to activate it. Also my USB mouse doesn't work anymore.. I've tried to restore my last saving for Windows 10 that was 2 days ago, but there is no change at all.. Is anyone having an idea? Thanks!!!

Hi,  Ophi ?

Thank you for writing in to the Lenovo Forum - happy to have you here today.

You can also start by flushing out all static, remove AC adaptor and hold down power button for about 15 seconds.

Sometimes the cable between the screen and the motherboard will be culprit. If at any time you see something then the cable is a likely culprit or maybe the connectors at either end.

I bought this machine in May 2015.  I began to have problems with it not too long after but since I was abroad I coud not send it out.  I finally sent it out in April 2016 (right before warranty ended).  They fixed some of the issues and sent it back, sadly I had to go back before I could get my laptop in May 2016.  I came back about 4 weeks ago and have been using it again since. Today as I was working on it after I plugged it in (it was at 7% battery), I noticed it only charged to 99%, it didn't show 100% like it typically does.  I didn't think anything of it and just went about my work. When I changed stations and moved upstairs I plugged it back in and noticed it is not charging at all. Tried several outlets, and tested the adapter, all is fine.  The kicker is when I unplug the adapter the laptop shuts off too, even tough I was 70% battery life.  Then it takes 10 or more seconds of holding the power button to fire it back up. I am pretty distraught over this. Would be grateful for any advice on what is going on. This machine is basically new! I have used only a handful of months and now my warranty is over! I can't afford another one or repairs

I just had this machine sent into a Lenovo Service for a number of issues, including this one. I'm very surprised that they weren't able to take care of this one issue since they seemed to be able to fix everything else. I have all the latest drivers and so forth installed, so I don't know what could be causing this. What's really weird is that I press the power button a second time, and my machine starts up normally with everything running fine afterwards. My computer's Reliability Report has been in the tank ever since this started because Windows thinks my machine shuts down unexpectedly each time.

I previously had Win 8.1 installed on my Yoga 3 1470 and everything worked fine.  I then upgraded to Windows 10. After the Windows 10 upgrade, I installed the latest Windows Updates and installed the latest driver updates from the Lenovo web site. Now, the computer works ok, except for the touch screen--which doesn't work at all. If I go to Device Manager, under Human Interface Devices, touch screen isn't listed at all. If I go to Settings, About, under "Pen and Touch", it says "no pen or touch input is available for this display". What else should I check to get my touch screen back and working?

Answer:Yoga 3 1470 Touch does not work at all after Windows 10 Upgrade

[Edit]  This seems to have fixed the problem: https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/Lenovo-Yoga-Series-Notebooks/Yoga-3-14-inch-Touch-Screen-Issues/m-p/216...   Original post: Same laptop and same problem (I realize my signature indicates a ThinkPad W520 but I also have the Yoga 3).  The touchscreen worked fine after upgrading to Windows 10 then stopped working a few days ago.  I believe this is the same problem: http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_10-hardware/touch-screen-not-working-on-win... On that page scroll down to see people with a Yoga 3 describing the same problem, here's the relavent message: Also have a Yoga 13 and am having the exact same problem, my System Info also shows the same message, "No pen or touch input is available for this display".  The touch screen worked fine after the initial Windows 10 upgrade then after an update about a week ago it stopped working.  I uninstalled some recent Windows updates through the control panel but that did not help.  There is one update (KB3081452) that I can't uninstall (the uninstall button disappears when I select that update), based on the date of the installation for that update it's around the time the touchscreen stopped working but I can't uninstall it to test if that's the problem. In Device Manager (you have to View-->Show hidden devices) under Human Interface Devices, most of the entries ("HID-compliant device", "HID-compl... I turned it on, everything looked good. It's the first time I turn it on for the past 2 weeks. I checked my emails and then looked for Lenovo updates, knowing that there was some security issue with Lenovo Solution Center. Tried to update to the latest Yoga Mode Control 1.0.0.9, but didn't seem to install. Next I updated Lenovo Utility to 3.0.0.4. Tried updating LSC, didn't work. Downloaded LSC manually and started the install. In the meantime, I was checking for Windows updates, found the ones release on May 10th, downloaded them and proceeded to install. While installing screen started to act funny, first it turned a bit pinkish, 10 seconds later went back to normal. One minute later it started to have these lighter vertical bars of random thickness and it stopped responding to any keyboard or touchpad input. 30 seconds later the colors slowly started to fade, wasn't able to see the icons anymore and the screen went all vertical bars of various white/grey/black nuances. Closed the lid, put it to sleep got back, same thing. Tried turning it off from the button, no luck. Pressed the Nova button it turns it off and then back on to the same bars. I'm not sure how to restart it or turn it off, or get into safe mode since I can't see anything on the screen. I don't have a micro HDMI cable so I can't check the HDMI output. Warranty run out exactly one month ago.Any ideas?

Hello all. I'm trying to fix this strange mouse issue I'm having. Once every second my mouse will have this micro stutter. I've disabled that FMAP thing and the problem persists. When I search for solutions, most people say it's once every 2-3 seconds. For me, it's every single second. This doesn't happen on a fresh install and it doesn't happen immediately after booting up (only after 10-15 seconds). I haven't installed any weird software. Just a few drivers and essential programs. The stutter seems to sync up with the refresh rate of task manager which may be a clue? Or maybe not.

Also,

I'm trying to install the Energy Manager driver and I downloaded the .exe which downloads this install.cmd file and when I try to run it, this pops up for a second and disappears...and thats it. Any ideas?
?

After about three months of use I have a bunch of problems with my Yoga 3 1470.One of them is that function keys and hot keys setting switches by itself occasionally. So instead of preffered Hot Keys Yoga switches to function keys. I.e Esc becomes Paper Display. Then I need to go to Lenovo settings and switch this over again. In Lenovo settings app options are inverted. When UI shows that Function Keys enabled Yoga has Hot Keys enabled and other way around. This is realy annoying especially when you need to work fast and suddenly Esc button not working or sound buttons become F2 and F3

Hi, I can't change out of UEFI only boot. I change it to legacy support, save, reboot. When I go back in to check, its back to UEFI. Need to boot from a USB stick which I have done mutiple times in the past. Its not even detecting them at the moment, and the OS is linux, but wont boot, thus the USB is needed.

I have been using my Lenovo Yoga 710 15" for a little over a month now with no issues.  However about a week ago I noticed a significant drop in my batteries performance from 7+ hours of usage time to less than 3 hours of usage time.  Has anyone else experienced a similar issue? What is the best way to resolve a a faulty battery for a pc that is still under lenovo's warranty? Note* I never leave the computer plugged in after a full charge and only charge the pc once the battery is below 10%.  I ran a diagnostic check and it confirmed the significant drop in usage time as well.

This morning I was using my laptop and I was charging it. After about an hour, I realized that the battery indicator had changed to something unfamiliar. The symbol says that the battery is not being detected by my computer. I don't know what exactly caused this. At the time, I was playing a flash game that I have been playing regularly for the last five months. I've had the computer since August of last year. Otherwise, everything else is working fine.

When I put it on battery saving mode it drains faster, or it indicates a shorter battery life time.

Hello everyone,I bought a Lenovo Yoga 2 11 laptop around 2 months ago. I noticed shortly after buying it that my battery life was going down very rapidly. I confirmed it was the case by running a few battery reports over time. Here's the latest report:DESIGN CAPACITY34,040 mWhFULL CHARGE CAPACITY12,830 mWh You can see how it has simply been losing all its capacity in a very accelerated fashion since I bought it (having even started with a considerably smaller amount than the design capacity):PERIODFULL CHARGE CAPACITYDESIGN CAPACITY2014-10-29 - 2014-11-0530,038 mWh34,040 mWh2014-11-05 - 2014-11-1228,324 mWh34,040 mWh2014-11-12 - 2014-11-1922,788 mWh34,040 mWh2014-11-19 - 2014-11-2623,432 mWh34,040 mWh2014-11-26 - 2014-12-0323,301 mWh34,040 mWh2014-12-03 - 2014-12-1021,589 mWh34,040 mWh2014-12-10 - 2014-12-1722,623 mWh34,040 mWh2014-12-1820,040 mWh34,040 mWh2014-12-1921,775 mWh34,040 mWh2014-12-2022,223 mWh34,040 mWh2014-12-2120,945 mWh34,040 mWh2014-12-2216,572 mWh34,040 mWh2014-12-2319,073 mWh34,040 mWh2014-12-2418,233 mWh34,040 mWh2014-12-2515,087 mWh34,040 mWh2014-12-2615,665 mWh34,040 mWh I'm very disappointed since I bought the laptop very recently, and only use the computer lightly for my university studies (browsing the web, reading books, etc.) I even used Conservation Mode provided by the Energy Manager that comes installed with the PC (basically sets up battery limit at 60% in order to protect battery life) before these problems emerged. Hi everyone. I am about to start college this week and I recently bought a new lenovo yoga from bestbuy about 2-3 weeks ago and up until yesterday night it was working completely fine. I shut it down before going to bed and this morning when I attempted to turn it on, it alerted me that the battery was dead. I didn't think too much of it so I plugged it back in and saw that the battery remains STUCK at 0% no matter how long it has been charging. When the laptop is on it says "Plugged in, charging" but it hasn't been storing any energy. Help????

Answer:LENOVO YOGA 2 13 BATTERY NOT CHARGING????

Uninstall energy manager> shutdown the computer> unplug for 30 min> plugin the computer and keep it off for 2 hours> Turn it back on. Best of luck.

I'll try and explain this one best i can. User came to me with their Yoga 15 with an issue where it randomly shuts down on battery power, as in completely switches off.  It sometimes displays a message to say the battery cannot be detected, other times just shuts down. The conclusion I've found is that when the bottom panel is off the machine the battery is completely detected in Windows, and the Lenovo Settings app. It runs fine, never cuts off even with lots of IE instances open.As soon as I put the bottom panel back on the battery appears to be disconnected in Windows, and it also shows it not charging. Intermittently it also states the battery power is low or not detected when booting up. Found that there's a battery / system reset button on the underside that may be the cause of the issue. Pressing this button with the underside of the Laptop off resets the machine entirely, I believe it's the battery reset button incase the machine ever gets stuck at any point (as by rights it's a non-removable battery and there's a small pin hole on the case over this button). Works flawlessly without the bottom case in place, as soon as I re-connect it when the unit is on Battery power I loose the battery status in the Lenovo Settings app. The machine will then randomly shut down. Any thoughts on this one, it's the strangest thing. Many thanks all.

Answer:Lenovo Yoga 15 - shuts down on battery

When you put the panel back, is it touching/blocking any wires?
Have you tried to do a factory reset? If everything works fine then, try updating drivers one by one to see if it comes back.

I have a Yoga 500, battery drains from 100% to 5% in 80mins.   This is with it just sitting there doing nothing.  Is this normal?   I sent it off for repair to Medion- it's come back with no comments other than it's been tested and everything is OK.   So - what's the average batter life - surely it should be up around 5 hours, not 1.5 hours?

Answer:Lenovo Yoga 500 Battery Life

update - sent the laptop off again and came back again saying that it's working OK. The workshop reckon that 90mins is the expected drain time of the battery. SURELY this is wrong?

Answer:Lenovo yoga 2 i5 11 - HOW DO I KNOW WHAT BATTERY TO BUY FOR MY LAPTOP

Hello clue000,

The Yoga 2 11" doesn't have a customer-replaceable battery unit, which is why it may be hard to get a Lenovo FRU #. It looks like the only option may be to have Lenovo do it out-of-warranty.

Hello, as of late I have been experiencing some problems with my battery and could not find any solutions as I serfed the web. The problem is that the battery life of my computer has decreased drastically over the past couple months. I have had this computer for a month or two, and when I first got it, it had about six and a half hours of battery life. However, right now, it only has about two hours, even on lowest brightness and settings, with any other programs closed. Is it possible that the battery is damaged or is it something else. Please Respond if you have any idea what is causing this problem.

Answer:Lenovo yoga 2 pro battery problems

1) Have you performed a 'Battery Guage Reset' till now?
2) Could you look into Task Manager Start up and see if any weird programs are starting up, that may consume extra battery?
3) Can you disable Lenovo Apps such as Harmony, OKO etc? (These apps are useless and use up ttoo many resources, sometimes)
4) Are all your drivers updated?
5) What do you do when your battery only lasts 2 hours?

I was sondering whether the only way to fix this is by sending it in. I still got 17 days of warranty left. Where do I have to call and how long would the repair take?
