I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Answer: Lenovo Yoga 500-15IBD Mouse and Touchpad snag

Dear computerxd,

Welcome in lenovo community,

Please try to uninstall the touchpad driver from the device manager, and check if it will work well with the Microsoft Generic driver or not.

Ever since I upgraded from Windows 8.1 to 10 when using my mouse or my touchpad to move the pointer, it pauses making the mouse skip and difficult to use.  I have applied all of the updated firmware and software available on the Lenovo site for my Yoga 3 Pro 1370, but the problem persists.  Same thing occurs on my wife's Yoga 3 Pro 1370 and it came from Lenovo with Windows 10 installed.  The problem does not occur on my Dell Laptop and Dell Workstation which I updated to Win 10, but they are not touchscreen enable, so that may be the difference.  Anyway I strongly suspect a Lenovo driver or Lenovo application is the problem; are there any known fixes?

I wrote a long, incorrect response, but see that you commented on where this was resolved in another post HERE. Sorry about that. The solution at the link worked for me.

I bought a Lenovo IdeaPad 100-15IBD a few days ago, and after a series of problems that I manage to fix, I woke up this morning to find out that my keyboard and touchpad are not working. Last night (about 9 hours ago) it was working fine. Anyone have any idea how can I fix this?

Hi, I've tried looking for tech specs (I know the hardware specs) for the monitor so I can work out what pen/stylus would be best for the touch screen. However, I can not find this particular product (spec specific) on the website.  If anyone could help me out that would be great, Ideally I'd like something with pressure levels as I do digitally draw from time to time, and would be helpful whilst writing. But would settle for something that isn't due to owning a GFX tablet anyway. Also, I'm unsure if this ideapad is referred to as a 15, 500 or 8 due to not know where this terminology is based from (model name, model series ect) seems unclear, perhaps I'm just looking into it too much and it is just a 500. Thanks to anyone that spends time reading, and thanks in advance for advice. ~Kris

Answer:LENOVO Yoga 500-15IBD

Hi mariuszwol5, Welcome to Lenovo Community Forums. Based on what I've found out, seems like both models has same specs as you have mentioned. If I'm not mistaken, the difference here is that, the 80N60084PB has this FRU : 18201638, whereas, the 80N6006FPB does not. FRU : 18201638Description : LGD LP156WF4-SPL1 FHD AG S LED1 NB LCDCommodity Code :  LCD PANELS Also checking on the price of the part itself, based on ebay, it is around USD $99.00. Which as per google, 400 PLN = 98.21 USD.  Hope this helps!

I have a web-camera issue with my notebook. It doesn't work. It used to work once or twice. But then suddenly something went wrong. Neither works mic. When I opened my windows 10 "Camera" app it said "Can't find camera". I checked device manager for drivers issues and couldn't find anything about camera. So I added a knew device "Lenovo EasyCamera". My "Camera" app still doesn't work. So I tried to fix in with Lenovo Settings. But there is no any camera folder in it. Reinstalling still didn't fix it. Also I tried installing drivers with official Lenovo website. Still nothing.

Hi, I got a problem with my laptop. The fan is making loud noise everytime I open a new window, a new tab, any setting window and so. I believe it is supposed to make this kind of noise when I'm stressing it with more programs running, not by simply open the files explorer... Any idea on what to do? (model is Lenovo Yoga 500-15IBD)ThanksNstant

Answer:Lenovo Yoga 500-15IBD loud fan noise

Hi Nstant,  Most probably a program or App is running at the background cause fast spinning fan to cool down CPU temp.  To figure it out, right click in your taskbar and from the opened menu click on task manager.  -From top menu click on performance tab then click on resource monitor ==> from top menu click on CPU tab and look at to the Average CPU usage and see which App or Program is using a high percentage of your CPU capacity==> right click on it and end the process.  .Regards,  **If the issue has been resolved please, mark me as solution provided to help others find the solution easily and click the Kudos.**

Hi,
I recently upgraded my Lenovo Yoga 15-IBD to an SSD, with a complete reinstall of Windows. Everything was working great; boot times were quicker and the system was far more responsive. However, the computer randomly freezes now, without any warning. I have to do a hard reset. Reliability monitor gives no clues of what the problem might be. The SSD is brand new, and passed a 'long' test this morning.

I have no idea where to go next; I seems that there is one problem after another with this laptop!

Thanks for your help!

Answer:Lenovo Yoga 500-15IBD Freezes Randomly after SSD Upgrade

Hi soopg.

When it freezes is there anything being logged in the event viewer? (System / Application / Other)

Have you looked at your Storage drivers. Before attempting to update please ensure you have an Image you can fall back to if required. While investigating would also be a good idea to have data backed up. You said this was a clean install so you likely have that point covered.

If you don't have a tool you could check out Macrium Reflect. Free, reliable and tutorial with forum.

You may wish to check out the Driver Verify process.

This tutorial will guide you through the verification process, heed the warnings. Assuming it fails follow the posting instruction in the BSOD section of forum.

Driver Verifier - Enable and Disable in Windows 10

The tutorial states make a restore point. Seems to be a lot of people having issues using restore points hence have an Image.

My Yoga 500 ideapad totally loses it when I plug it into power. The CPU slows down imidiately and runs at 100% usage every time I make an action (opens Chrome takes like 30 seconds). In Speccy, I can see, that the CPU runs at a speed of approx. 500 Mhz (Core speed). If I unplug the laptop, the speed goes up to like 1,9 Ghz when I opens chrome (chrome opens instantly) and CPU usage maxes out at 40% or so. I can now close Chrome, plug in the laptop once again, and if I open chrome now,it maxes out at 500 Mhz speed with 100% CPU usage. I have just completely reinstalled windows (10, 64 bit) hoping that this would solve the problem. But it haven'tI have downloaded ALL the drivers and software possible from Lenovos own support page for my laptop, I have ran numerous tests from Lenovo, and other thirdparty applications, no one in which finds any problems. What should I do? I have done everything in my power to try and fix this problem. I have tried every possibly advanced power options, I have even changed the "when plugged in" power options to match the "on battery" ones, but without any change in performance. I cannot figure out, if this is a problem with my power supply? Or the CPU itself? And no tests suggests any problems...  Anyone able to help me out with troubleshooting? Hello.  The touchpad on my Yoga 13 stopped working a few days ago and I have been unable to get it working again.   I have of course tried the fn+F6 thing.  I have also tried updating both the touchpad's and graphics card's drivers, restarting the system, closing/opening the lid, and switching between laptop and tent mode.  None of this has helped and it has not been working for a few days now.  I have scoured these forums and tried every solution that I could find, but have not seen any improvement.  Device manager says that the device is working properly.  I have tried a few different ones, but I am currently using the Synaptics 16.2.21.4 driver. I am thinking that this might be a hardware issue.  Is there a Lenovo software that can diagnose hardware issues with the touchpad/mouse?  I downloaded the Lenovo Solution Center, but it doesn't seem to check the touchpad. Thank you in advance for any help.

I have a Yoga 2 Pro, running Windows 10, working fine after upgrade several months ago.Last week noticed intermittent touchpad freezing, then touchpad lock requiring a reboot, then total failure of touchpad.Suspected HW but did all usual things such as reinstalling drivers, cleaning registry. Arrived back from trip and plugged in a USB mouse, but it doesn't work (mouse confirmed working in other laptop). I then opened her up and checked the touchpad cable - re-seated it, but no joy. My questions are.. can a failed touchpad prevent a usb mouse from working ?If not then what can cause all mouse function to not work. In all other respects the latop is working fine. Thanks in advance for any help offered. PS I have not tried a restore to previous state yet - but will do once backup has completed. The only other thing I can think of doing is replacing the touchpad.

I managed to scratch the touchpad on my Lenovo Yoga 500-14ISK. Is there any way to fix this? I can orded a new original touchpad, but that will cost me around 50 Euros, so I am trying to find a cheaper way.  The looks don't bother me, but the surface is no longer smooth. Is there some sort of a sticker, that I can stick over it?

**UPDATE** THE ISSUE:This morning I quickly discovered that there was no pointer on my screen.  Restarting does not help.  Also, the clickpad is active with an up-to-date driver that is functioning properly.  In the synaptic settings , I enabled the ability to press control to find the mouse cursor. Howerer when I subsequently press CTRL ,it pinpoints a place on the screen where there is STILL NO POINTER.  Rubbing my finger along the clickpad does not move the supposed pointer location.  But if I use the touchscreen, then the pointer location updates. Sometimes, almost randomly, the pointer appears, but when it does it is either frozen or jumping about the screen like an acrobat.  The worst part is that when it does its jumping them it is actively clicking on stuff.  At this moment it is back to simply being an invisible pointer. Also right clicking is sporadically effective even with no visible cursor. I really, really do not want to reformat since it takes so much time and effort to get everything loaded and back to the way I like it.  Please help!

Hello, im trying to figure out, how to enable 3 finger tap for a middle mouse click on my yoga 720 15. There are some solutions out there suggesting editing the registry, but i don't have the entries they name and no other entries, that could be related to the touchpad for that matter. The device manager lists the touchpad simply as "hid-compatible touchpad" with no further information. I even tried installing the synaptics software on the off chance, that that would work, but it said, that no synaptic device was detected. I can switch the 3 finger tap from opening cortana to opening the info center, to doing nothing, but thats it. Can anyone help me? regards Sebastian

I have bought two days ago a Lenovo Yoga 720 13', and since yesterday I am experiencing issues with the touchpad. There are two kinds of problems: one with the scrolling function, the other one when the pointer goes over some links (even without clicking them). Problem number one: The scrolling functions only with some programs , and when working it produces a strange flickering of the page when I reach the bottom of the page. On words it works, and when I scroll until the end of the page, the whole Words page flickers for some moments. Very bizarre. On Chrome the scrolling does not work. Problem number two: when on Chrome I drag the pointer over a link (like in the links that appear after a search with google) the whole Chrome page quivers for an instant. And it quivers for every other link the pointer touches (without clicking on it). Therefore, my searches on google are very painful for the eyes, for the whole page quivers every link I pass upon. How can I fix this problem with the touchpad? I have already tried to check the settings, and to change them, with no result. Thank you for all the help you could provide.

Hello Andrea1981Thanks for using the Lenovo forums.Try a static discharge for this, it may help to resolve the issue or at least get rid of any built up static on the motherboard.(If the battery is internal, please just skip the remove/replace battery steps.)1. Turn the unit off2. Remove the battery and the Mains adapter3. Press and hold the front power button for 30 seconds4. Replace the battery and the Mains adapter5. Hello everyone, First of all, i want to apologize because english is not my first language and i am french actually. I looked for a french forum for a long time but the only one that seems useful is this one. So forgive me if i make spelling mistakes. I bought a "Lenovo Yoga 3 14'" 2 months ago and it's just amazing. Everything is great, the speed, the fluidity, the quality, etc. Last week, there was a update for the apli "Lenovo Settings" and since then i have a problem with the "touchpad input" or "softkey" (sorry i don't know the right word to use) because now when i do start the computer, the "Fn touch" (music volume or the brightness) are unavaible. I have to change the settings to make avaible the "fn touch" and when i do restart my computer, any of my settings is saved. I am very upset about it because i'm wasting my time and i don't know what to do to save my settings. Thank you for reading my message and i'm hoping that someone will help me. Once again i apologize if i make spelling mistakes.

Hello,i have a problem with the touchpad of my Yoga 460 ultrabook. Unfortunately, it has a little but annoying difference from my ultrabook (T450) at work. With the T450: When I use two fingers to scroll down or up, I can remove one finger from the touchpad and it still is in "scroll mode" while only one finger is on the touchpad. This is shown by the fact, that when i put the finger back on the touchpad, I can continue scrolling. With my Yoga 460: When i remove one finger while letting the other on the touchpad, the "scroll mode" is interrupted and i cant continue scrolling immediately. I haventīt found any option from windows or my preinstalled Elan smart pad options.Does someone know a solution for this? Best regardsDejan V.

Hi everyone.I'm experiencing serious problems with the touchpad, in particoular with the two fingers scrolling.I start with the idea that having a functional and perfectly fluid touchpad is essentials for me, and coming from a macbook I'm really habit to have high performances in controlling the mouse and the realated gestures. What is really working bad in myYoga Pro 2 is the scrolling. First of all in some applications, like Firefox and Chrome for instance, is not fluid at all, and the scrolling results very rigid. But the issue which is really making me crazy is another one. When I scroll a page down or up, and then, while the paging is still scrolling, I move the mouse in another part of the screen for clicking, what happens is that as soon the page finish to scroll, the pointer returns in the position occupied before the beginning of the scrolling. And this results everytime in clicking something wrong. I have tried both latest drivers of Yoga1 and Yoga2, but the issue is not resolved, and since I use to scroll and click very rapidly, without waiting the completion of the scrolling, this is really a big issue for me, and I'm seriously thinkig to returning my Yoga to Best Buy if I will not solve it in the next 10 days. I'm really sad beacuse I love this Pc, but without a fluid and reliable touchpad for me is completely useless.Any suggestion? Do you have the same issue?

I am annoyed that the buttons of the touchpad are touch sensitive. There is two cases when it is not good: 1, Usually I keep one of my fingers on the left button and at the same time move the narrow with another finger. The result is that somtimes the narrow does not move. 2, Or when I want to click with the left button, the narrow moves because my finder slips on the button and I click to the wrong place. Is there any way to switch off the touch sensitivity of the buttons without disabling the whole touchpad?

Answer:Lenovo yoga 2 13 touchpad buttons

I also found this annoying for the same reasons you mentioned above. It does not seem to be possible to restrict the active touchpad area with Lenovo's drivers. Here is the solution I found. First go to the Device Manager and uninstall Lenovo's touchpad drivers. Then go to the Synaptics website (http://www.synaptics.com/en/drivers.php) and download their touchpad drivers. I downloaded and installed version v17.0.19 of the driver. Now open Mouse Properties, go to the Device Settings tab, and click on the Settings button. This brings up a different settings menu than Lenovo's default drivers (pictured below left). Using the SmartSense option, you can restrict pointing and/or tapping to a particular zone on the touchpad. Unlike my screenshot, you'll probably want to set the strength to "Max". There's one more complication, though. Since these are generic Synaptics drivers, the touchpad will no longer be disabled when you fold the Yoga into "tablet mode". (The keyboard will still be disabled but the touchpad will remain active.) To fix this, I downloaded a nifty little program called Yoga Patch. http://alltechtalk.net/Yoga/thread-yoga-patch By the way, the generic Synaptics drivers also give an option for one-finger scrolling, which is another feature I wanted. Let me know if you have any questions!

I've looked around for a solution to my problem and haven't found one, so sorry if this is a repeat post.  I have a Lenovo Yoga 2 Pro, running Windows10.  I am still under warranty, so sending it in is an option, but I'm a student and not having my laptop for an extended period of time would be incredibly inconvenient.  I don't have any other issues with my laptop. About 5 months ago, the touchpad on my computer just stopped working.  No response to anything.  I downloaded the latest drivers, installed them and restarted, and still nothing.  I did some more research and tried to follow advice, but ran into what I think is the root of the problem.  When I tried to see if my touchpad was enabled in Settings, only my wireless mouse is listed.  I looked further and found that my touchpad doesn't show up in 'Device Manager' under the 'Mice and Other Pointing Devices' subsection. I'm not particularly techie, but am willing to try anything to regain functionality.  It's an inconvenience to have to either use the touchscreen or carry around my mouse all the time.  Any pointers down the right road towards fixing this (and not having to have it serviced) would be grealy appreciated!  Thanks in advance.

Hi, This has happened to me before, a while ago, and am afraid I don't remember how it was fixed before...But recently my mouse pointer disappeared again and the touchpad doesn't do anything. When I click Ctrl, I see where the mouse pointer should be, but it doesn't reapear. Selecting F6 does nothing. I've googled and scanned the forums, but all proposed solutions don't work. Help? Thanks!

Is there a way to make the computer disable the touchpad when an external mouse is connected? I have been able to do so in the Synaptics settings on my previous computers, but on this one I don't have the option, even though I have downloaded the latest drivers. I can shut it off with Fn + F6 but it turns on automatically after a while and it's very annoying.

After switching to tablet mode in Windows 10, the touchpad and trackpoint are both disabled. I tried disabling and re-enabling it in the BIOS, no effect. Tried updating to the latest ELAN driver, no luck... in fact, there's no option for enabling / disabling the touchpad in the dialog box, and the ELAN dialog box is just a big blank. Tried uninstalling and reinstalling all Lenovo drivers; no luck. I saw some suggestions that I should disable some sort of Intel sensors in the BIOS, but I couldn't find those settings.  Suggestions?

I downloaded Ubuntu alongside Windows 10, but on Ubuntu the touchpad is not working.  My touchpad is not detected on my xinput list.(The Logitech devices are a USB mouse and keyboard) Does anyone know if there's any resolution to this or am I out of luck? If I'm out of luck, would this be resolved with future versions of Ubuntu? Thanks.

I have a weird problem with my screen  and my touchpad and keyboard shutting down. Whenever my laptops screen is in a normal upright position the touchpad and keyboard don't work. However as soon as I tilt the screen so that it's nearly completely horizontal then all of a sudden the keyboard and touchpad start working. I have no idea what's causing this issue since my laptop has just been sitting on my desk for 4 days without being touched and it worked just fine last week. Any help is greatly appreciated.

The touchpad of my Lenovo Yoga 3 Pro is not working with Windows 8.1 or the newly installed Windows 10. It is neither recognised in the Device Manager, nor the Synaptics TouchPad Driver is listed among the installed programs in the Control Panel. Moreover, when I try to install the latest verion of this driver obtained from the Lenovo website, I am warned that "A previous version of the Synaptics TouchPad Driver is installed.", and that I should remove it first before continuing. If I try to install this version anyway, the installation is apparently successful, but I still cannot use the touchpad (nor the driver seems to be installed anywhere). What should I do to solve this annoying issue? Many thanks for your attention.

Are there files in the "C:\Program Files\Synaptics\SynTP" folder? i had an issue where I couldn't uninstall the synaptics driver via settings and had to do it manually from an administrator command line. I used the following command: rundll32.exe "C:\Program Files\Synaptics\SynTP\SynISDLL.dll",standAloneUninstall Once you have it uninstalled does windows update try to install a driver on its own?

Hi, I have had a Lenovo Yoga 710 14" for about six months now. After approximately two months the 3-finger gestures (three finger swipe-up to access the task-view etc.) stopped working. It did when I changed the mouse speed in the Windows settings. Is there any way to get these 3-finger gestures work again? (... and to be sure I have of course checked that the settings is on in the Lenovo controlpanel for the touchpad). Thanks in advance!

Answer:Lenovo Yoga 710, touchpad 3-finger gestures

Hello Soren522Thanks for using the Lenovo forums.Try to download the Touchpad and Chipset drivers for the unit from the support page.

Make sure to reboot after an update on the unit.If this has happened after a change or update, I would recommend you try to revert back to an older version of Windows, and observe if the fault is still happening or not.

Hope this helps, let us know how you get on.==================================================================================Did someone help you today? Thank them with a Kudo! If you find a post helpful and it answers your question, please mark it as an "Accepted Solution"!

I have a Lenovo Yoga 700 14ISK (ideapad) with Windows 10 64bit, whose keyboard and touchpad are refusing to work.Everything else seems to be running smoothly except for these. I initially was getting by via the on screen keyboard until I began borrowing an external wireless one. The following is what I knowReset to factory settings did not work.Optimizing OS in BIOS is enabled already (enabling this was suggested by Lenovo Support)THE ARROW KEYS WORK IN BIOS (??!???!?)An external keyboard works (I have used two different Logitech keyboards and both work)Before I sign in, FN+Space seems to work thus (re)activating my backlight. Once I sign in, it stops working. There's no updates for the keyboard driver.I have already tried to uninstall the driver, restart the laptop, and allow it to reinstall the driver.Disabling ymc did not help.F6 does not re-enable the touchpad.I tried a couple button combinations I've seen around for people disabling/enabling keyboards, but none worked. (Willing to try more though!!!) Any ideas? I thought it may be a hardware problem, but since the arrow keys work in BIOS; I'm not confident that this is the case.

Hello guys, since yesterday I have my new Lenovo Yoga 500-14IBD (Intel Core i5 5200U, 2,7GHz, 8GB RAM, 1TB HDD+SSD, NVIDIA GeForce 940M/2G, Win 8.1) upgraded to Windows 10. 5 hours troubshooting and many driver tests left behind, I do not get the touchpad infront of my keyboard working well. Tapping with 2 fingers for context menu or other multi-finger actions won't work. In the "Alps pointing device" setup menu all settings are ticked. (Screenshot: settings, installed-driver) I have also found some troubleshootings in the internet to change some values in the registry, but I still not have any kind of the "keys" in registry under ".../Synaptics/SynTP/", where I could change the values. (One Troubleshoot: http://amittoor.blogspot.co.uk) Hopefully someone can help me. Thanks,CM   BTW: Had the same issue with Windows 10 on Yoga 500-15IBD!

Hi everyone,I just elbowed my touchpad to the point that parts of it are crumbling away. It still works, however I would like to replace it at some point in time. Is something like this covered by warranty? I looked lenovo's warranty policy and they use the words "normal use."  I suppose it is unlikely that accidently elbowing your computer is normal use. Thankyou

Answer:Lenovo Yoga 500-14ACL problem with Touchpad

Hi Jonett,

Welcome to Lenovo Forums.

EXE errors, such as those associated with apoint.exe, most often occur during computer start up, program start up, or while trying to use a specific function in your program

More specifically, these apoint.exe errors can be caused by:

Corrupt Windows registry keys associated with apoint.exe / Alps Pointing-device Driver.
Virus or malware infection that has corrupted the apoint.exe file or related Alps Pointing-device Driver program files.
Another program maliciously or mistakenly deleted apoint.exe-related files.
Another program is in conflict with Alps Pointing-device Driver and its shared referenced files.
Corrupt download or incomplete installation of Alps Pointing-device Driver software.

Try doing these steps:

Repair Registry Entries Associated with Alps Pointing-device Driver
Conduct a Full Malware Scan of Your PC
Clean Out Your System Junk (Temporary Files and Folders) With Disk Clean-up (cleanmgr)
Utilize Windows System Restore to "Undo" Recent System Changes
Uninstall and Reinstall the Alps Pointing-device Driver Program Associated with Apoint.exe. ( click here for Alps driver )
Run Windows System File Checker ("sfc /scannow")

Please go through this Link for better understanding of this issue.

I hope the above information helps.

Regards,
Shashi

I have been using the lenovo yoga 2 not pro laptop for about a year now and haven't had any problems untill last week.last weerk all of the sudden i cant use the integrated left or right click any more, to be more acurate i can click them the same way same travel as if it was working but then again nothing happens on screen. i can use left mouse button though dubbel tapping but its still annoying for drag and drop stuff. to fix it i have removed and reinstalled the newest and older drivers, safe mode, dis and enabling touchpad, and no error have appeared yet in the logs or on screen. i think it is a filthy connector,so i am considering to open him up and just clean and reconnect the touchpad. If there are more people experiencing this problem and or have found a solution i would like to thank you in advance for sharing the information. GreetingsFrank MC

This issue is caused by a windows 10 upgrade.  The touchpad is unresponsive if the laptop is woken from sleep mode.  The touchscreen, keyboard, and rest of the machine function normally.  The touchpad works normally if I restart or hard reboot the machine.  This was not an issue prior to the windows 10 upgrade and is not an issue if I uninstall that upgrade.  Is there a fix so I don't have to uninstall windows 10?

After reformatting my laptop last month, I lost the capability to use the touchpad to go back as it has been replaced with task switching.   I didn't document how I enabled this before and hoping someone can help. Also, is there a way to enable the settings window in Windows 10 Settings since we have a precision touchpad?  I'm guessing the issue has to do with outdated drivers.

I bought the yoga 500-15IBD(w/i5 5200U;GT 940m and 8G of RAM) in summer of 2015. At first the notebook is doing fine. But at mid-late 2016 the notebook start acting strange, the CPU start lock the frequency at 0.44 Ghz while charging. I find out that the BD prochot is the reason and I disable it with throttlestop. Then when I start gaming for few minutes the laptop just shut down, because of overheating. So I try playing game with BD prochot on and with battery. And the gameplay become very laggy. Not like low fps, but just very laggy. I monitored the CPU and the CPU just get throttled massively frequently and the frequency just go up and down. Which never happen before, the laptop used to be at least playable with consistent (low) fps.  What should I do. Is some component damaged? Should I clean the fan (I checked the fan and it seems fine to me)? Should I charge the thermal paste?  ps I try to stress test both CPU and GPU, it's fine when doing test alone. But when testing both CPU and GPU the temp of CPU just go sky high (~100 C) and the GPU seems to be cool in terms of temperature(75 C)and than the laptop shut down. Even when testing GPU only while CPU is idle both temp got ~75 C. When doing only CPU test CPU temp ~88 C max and GPU stay at ~55 C. It seems the GPU is transfering heats to the CPU.

I have a Windows 8 Lenovo Yoga, and I want to change the setting where whenever you swipe from the left side of the trackpad it switches apps. I've tried looking in the trackpad/mouse settings, control panel, and even tried changing registry settings, creating a file gestures.reg I saw on another website. But none of these have worked (I think the reg file is just for a Sony Vaio).
Does anyone know how to change these settings within Windows 8 on a Lenovo Yoga? The trackpad is small and it's easy to swipe too from from the left. Thanks for the help!

Over the last few days my Yoga 13's touchpad has started to misbehave.  As I scroll around it will begin to select text, or for example if I click on a tabbed window or Windows 8 tile it will instead grab that item and drag it around.  I've tried everything driver related, rolled back to system restore points and even completely reset the system to factory so I am confident that it is a hardware issue.  I called Lenovo and of course I am a few weeks out of my warranty period.  I am not opposed to paying for the repair, but they cannot tell me how much the repair is.  Any staff out there that can help me out?  Thanks!

In fact, it goes anoyingly fast when working with .do-files in Stata or when I scroll my songs in Spotify. I have to use the arrow keys or PgUp/PgDn which requires a click on the right window to be activated. So, could you please help to solve this issue? Indeed, I find that changing the two-finger scrolling on the touchpad trough Elan Smart-Pad works in google chrome but just not very well in say Spotify, hence this new thread. BestJohan

Hi, having formatted the PC, with windows 10 original, I would need the original theme of lenovo ideapad 100-15IBD (I do not mean the background but the theme itself and how to install it permanently in the PC) and additionally, the stock app of lenovo. Thank you very much kind regards!

I recently purchessed a Lenovo IdeaPad U310 and it has a  three-finger, four-finger flick and a pinch zoom feature.  The finger flicks do not work anymore and it's only two or three weeks old. The four-finger flick horizontally would take me to a new screen orignally, one way being pictures and the other way being notes. It no longer does that when I swipe my four fingers. The three-finger flick would scroll up and down but it no longer works as well.  I went to the mouse/touch pad settings and it says that all three features are enable but it still does not work. Please help me fix this! Thanks

I bought a new Yoga 500 15IBD 2 Months ago and since a view weeks the Laptop had several power breakdowns while in battery mode. All of a sudden the Laptop turns black, all lights and the hdd turns off and I have to connect the power cord to get it started again - although the Battery certainly isn't empty according to the OS-Battery indicators AND often having the Laptop fully charged less than half an hour ago. (The Yoga runs for at least 3 hours if the bug does not appear). Now this is no driver issue, I have the problem while running Windows 10, Linux Mint and Backbox Linux. I suppose it's either a battery issue or a faulty architectual design. Since  I see a lot of similar power-off related messages accross the spectrum of lenovo devices, could someone finally publically explain the source of the problem so there is a chance to get rid of it ... especially in future products?

So I have the updated Window 10 Home and Lenovo Settings Ver. 3.169.0.0. It doesn't allow me to adjust Trackpoint or Touchpad speed when I go to the tab "Input". Both speeds are kept lowest and I cannot scroll the bars at all. What I can do is go to Synaptics Control Panel to adjust the speeds. However every time I open the laptop again after Sleep or Reboot, the speeds go back to lowest again. Please help me solve this issue. Thanks!

Answer:Lenovo Yoga Touchpad Left/Right Click Hardware Button Sensitivity

I would suspect that the hard buttons of the touchpad cannot be changed as a mechanical attribute of the hardware. However, I might suggest that the hard buttons of the touchpad may not have to be used very often given the existence of touch alternatives. For example, I'm sure you use the left-click tap gesture often, but also a right-click gesture of simply tapping two fingers anywhere at once may be used instead of having to press the hard button from the bottom-left corner. Additionally, dragging may be accomplished with a double-tap and hold gesture on the touchpad. For instance, to move a window on the desktop, simply double-tap the window title bar but keep a finger down after the second tap. From there objects may be moved/dragged as if a physical button was held. So perhaps with the touch-only drag and right-click gestures you may rely less on use of the hard buttons, and save some strain on your fingers..?

I play certain games such as League of Legends where mouse accuracy and usage speed is very important. Since getting the Y50, (Running Windows 8.1) i've been trying to configure all the touchpad settings I can to get things how I like, but one problem seems impossible for me to reaserch.  The default touchpad setting is to reject all inputs while the keyboard is in use, which is good for people who want to surf the web, but a nightmare for games such as League. I found out very quickly how to change the touchpad so that it is "always on", so now I can move the mouse and use the mouse buttons while typing or holding down a key. However, tapping remains disabled while the keyboard is in use. It's not exactly a show stopper, because obviously I could just left click instead of tapping, but since the touchpad is left-of-center, I would find it much more comfortable if I could tap to left click while doing something like, say, holding down the w key.  All the days of off-and-on reaserch i've done alone on this issue don't seem to be getting me very far. The overwhelming majority of people with touchpad problems seem only interested in step one, which was changing the touchpad to "always on", just so they could move. I suppose it doesn't help that most people who play complex games almost always use external mice instead of laptop touchpads, but I've used touchpads to play the games I like for a very long time. (Though the laptops i've had before had such poor t... Read more

Answer:Lenovo Y50 touchpad, can move mouse while keys are pressed but can't tap

I've found that touchpads in general are just terrible for gaming. For example, I apicked up a Y50 over the holidays. One of the first games I tested out for fun was Minecraft. When using the Keyboard to move, the touch pad yields NO inputs whatsoever! Literally none until you let go of the keys on the keyboard. I never liked touchpads in the first place, so I got a mouse pretty quick. And I suggest you do as well for maximum capabilities while playing games!  I looked through the ELAN driver settings for hte touchpad, couldn't find anything to solve the problem. You could try uninstalling the driver and installing a new one, but that's taking it a little far in my opinion. I'd rather suggest you buy a mouse. Touchpads were bever designed for gaming, in my opinion  To me, the problem seems to be repeating keyboard keys. But I can't find a way to disable that sort of feature.  Hope this helps. ~Zara

The left mouse button on the U31.70 laptop I have ocassionally will stay stuck down after being pressed.  It is very intermittent and sometimes the laptop is fine for a few days, but then every so often it seems to happen a great deal.  t has done it from a few months old and it will soon be out of warranty,  I have updated the touchpad drivers, but this has made no difference. Is this a known fault with this model?

Hello,This is my first post. I have been using my G530 for a couple of years and have been really happy with it. However, suddenly yesterday the Touchpad mouse stopped working. Neither the touchpad nor the left or right buttons are working. I have tried to update the driver and have tried all other suggestions, but I cannot get the touchpad to work.Any suggestions? Also, I have been having a problem with my screen flickering / flashing up and down, whilst this is a frequent problem it does mainly occur at start up and once past the login section the problem tends to go away.Any suggestions on improving this? I would really appreciate any comments about one or both problems.Thanking you.TK

Answer:Lenovo 3000 G530 Touchpad mouse & screen

hi TK,

Welcome to the Forums.

Regarding your issues:
1. For the Touchpad, try to turn the computer off and press the OneKey Recovery button and observe the touchpad functionality. If it doesn't work, try to re-seat the Touchpad cable that attaches to the mainboard and on the keybaord bezel (see this disassembly guide)
 Spoiler (Highlight to read)
2. For the flickering issue, this is commonly caused by a bad/loose LCD cable or a faulty LCD inverter (see this G530 full disassembly guide). If re-seating the LCD cable doesn't fix it, you will need to replace either the LCD cable, the LCD inverter, or both.

Hope this helps

hi, i recently bought my Lenovo u310 from amazon and i realized when i first started using it that my touchpad was a little raised on the left side and i could feel it move while making touch gestures from the bottom left side of the touchpad, could it be a loose screw on the left clicker that's causing this? and is there anyway to fix this by opening up the device?thanks

I strongly reccommend you to pay a visit to lenovo support. Actually opening a u310 voids warranty. So dont do anything yourself.

Answer:Lenovo ideapad s405 touchpad mouse problem

hi Razorbacktrack,

Your issue might be similar to this thread.

If your PC came with a Synaptics Touchpad, can you try to:

1. Go to the Control Panel (large icon view) then > click Mouse > Device Settings tab > Settings
2. Under the Synaptics Settings, go to Pointing > Sensitivity > Palmcheck and set the palm sensitivity to minimum and test the game.
 Spoiler (Highlight to read)
If you have an ELAN touchpad, try to:

3. Adjust the PalmTracking option under Additional Tab on the ELAN Smart Pad settings to the minimum (see spoiler)
4.If same problem, press WindowsKey+R then type appwiz.cpl. From the program list, uninstall lenovo pointing device, reboot.the PC and test (you can re-install this later by nagvigating to D:\Drivers\Touchpad).
 Spoiler (Highlight to read)

Let me know your findings.

Cheers

Answer:Yoga 500 - 15IBD - Bios update went wrong

What you can see there is a Boot menu. Your laptop can't boot from disk and display boot selection menu. Try to enter BIOS (can't say how to do it, as you didn't told which Yoga model do you have) and try to change boot settings from UEFI -> Legacy (or in other way) and/or disable Secure Boot. Check if after these changes your laptop will be able to boot.
