I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Answer: Yoga 900-13ISK Laptop (ideapad) WiFi Connection/Staying connected issues

Hi Chad76 ,

Welcome to the Community Forums.

With the connectivity issue , I would suggest to turn off / uncheck power saving from the property box of the device network adapter as shown on this link.
Transmit power to highest if available , Roaming aggressiveness / tendency highest then restart .
Observe the changes on your connection.

Likewise to limit start up items that may be running from the background that may pick off some of the bandwidth, you may set the pc on clean boot as shown here.

Update us how it goes.

hello everyone, I am hoping someone can help me with my laptop situation. Its a Lenovo Yoga 900-13ISK Laptop (ideapad), I have had it for 3 months. I shut it down Saturday and then minutes after the display had gone off I noticed the power button light was still on. I tried to restart it and no response. pressed for long trying to shut it off (this works on my Lenovo thinkpad from work) and still no response. Its now been almost 48 hours the power button light is still on and machine wont start. The machine has not been connected to charger since saturday shutdown. Since the battery is encased in the laptop I cannot open it without voiding the warranty. I bought the machine in US and because of work I am now in Europe cannot take it back to Lenovo US. Anyone have a solution for me?

We just moved and got a new ISP, and I have not been able to get a good connection through wifi. When I am connected, it usually goes really slow, and drops every so often. It says that I have 5 bars. I sometimes get a decent connect, but it only lasts a couple minutes.
My sister has no problem connecting to the wifi at all on her laptop.
I also have never had any problems connecting to wifi before, and I have been able to connect and have decent speeds at my friend's house.
I'm on windows 7 if that is any help
the router is a Motorola

I have replaced the battery, but my wifi will only work if the power cord is in my computer, this is driving me crazy. When I take the power cord out, it'll work for maybe 15 minutes then it says connection is limited and boots me off while resetting the wifi, and unless I put the power cord back in, it just keeps doing this. Only to my computer, my husbands computer, xbox, my phone, no other issues, its only my computer. HELP!

Answer:Laptop only staying connected to wifi while power cord is in.

First of all - welcome to BC !

Can you give us a little more information please - such as make and model of your computer and confirm that you are running Win 8/8.1 as your operating system ?  The reason I ask is that I am not entirely convinced that your topic is in the best possible place for help and would like to improve your chances of getting help. At the moment i could guess at possible causes for this, but that is all they would be - guesses.

Hello there! I bought the Ideapad 710s recently but i'm experiencing a serious WiFi issue. After cold start the wireless network adapter cannot be recognised. There isn't even an entry in the device manager pointing to an unknown device or a missing driver. It is absolutely not possible to allow it. Restart doesn't help either. After many restarts and attempts to switch th adapter on, I've succeded, and from that moment on, it stays active with no further issue. Countless resarts later it's still on and the function is okay. The problem is, that on the next day (i think that means, when the notebook is cold) the issues appears again. There is no network adapter, and it appears much later. What i've tried by now: 1. Did a full Windows update2. Reinstalled every single driver from the Lenovo support center3. Turned every single energy saving feature off4. Did a BIOS update5. Did a full system recovery (and repeated the steps 1, 2 and 3)6 Made a clean Windows 10 installation (and repeated the steps 1, 2 and 3) After each and every of the steps mentioned above, the issue appeared after cold start on the next day and disappeared after about an hour of being turned on. The wireless adapter is UEFI ENABLED all the time. Well after two weeks and countless attempts to solve the problem i have no idea, what more could i possibly do. Does someone experienced such issue, and if yes, what was the solution for it. Best regards and happy new year!

This is the exact opposite of most WiFi issues. I have two guest networks set up on my wireless router (Asus RT-68U), one for each of my daughters. I change the password daily in order to make them earn the password with chores after school. My older daughter's T450 refuses to stop connecting to the WiFi, even persisting through reboots. MAC address filtering fails, as does turning off internet access to her MAC/IP combination. After changing the password or enabling one of the more strict rules, eventually, randomly, her laptop will finally decide to stop accessing her WiFi connection. I am fairly certain it is something with the Lenovo as I have two other laptops, one Asus and one HP that both respond as I would expect to a WiFi password change. Any ideas as to why this happens with the Lenovo?

Okay, so I'm no computer newbie, but I AM a wireless newbie. I bought one of those router/USB adapter combo boxes from Motorola (WP850G and WU830G, respectively) and set it up. No sweat. WPA enabled - good signal strength, all good.

However, after random periods of time, the connection drops out. It can still see the router, but when Windows (XP, BTW) attempts to reconnect, sometimes it works, and other times, it hangs up at "Acquiring Network Address".

This is getting really irritating. As far as I know, I have all the updated drivers for the adapter, and the router should be set right.

Any tricks I've not tried?

Answer:Problems staying connected to my new WiFi

Initially I can think of only two additional "tricks." One is to look for a firmware update for the router. The other one is to try the "other" utility. That is, with your USB adaptor you almost definitely got a utility for managing the connection. Windows also has one, Wireless Zero Configuration (WZC). First, make sure that you are using only one, 'cause both running will cause problems. Second, whichever you are using, try the other one.

If you are using the Motorola adaptor, it's probably in your Start Up folder, and the WZC service should not be running.

Another thing that could be causing your problems is wireless interference--2.4Ghz cordless phone, TV, almost anything electronic or electrical.

There seems to be no way to diffrentiate internal speakers from headphone jack volume on this machine. When I use the built in speakers I usually have the volume on 60-80% to be able to hear things normally. However that level of volume is making my ears bleed when I plug in the headphones. On every computer I've used you can go to sound options and choose "show disconnected devices" then set the volume for that device (being headphones in this case) but nothing shows up. Even when headphones are plugged in (and working as intended i guess) the sound device still shows up as speaker. This must be an oversight? I have also downloaded the most recent driver from the this site. Currently I have to turn down volume to around 20% before connecting the headphones.

Having trouble staying connected to the internet and because of this not able to download updates, print or sometimes even open my email.   It is not the wifi (have linksys). My PC, phones, iPad, even Roku are all connected via this router and all doing fine except my Pavilion. What can I do to remedy this problem. This notebook (Pavilion) is only 13 months old - it's still a baby.  If anybody out there can help me I will greatly appreciate it.

First, thanks for taking a second to read this. I just purchased this after using my Viao for 4.5 years. So, I am like a kid in a candy shop whose mother never let him have sugar before  Just bought this 2 days ago: Problem - Mouse pointer gets "stuck" and doesn't move sometimes. Is this common, is there a fix? I transport this between home and office. So: Question 1:Can I plug two monitors in some how so I can have 3 screens. I am not concerned about HD. Mostly spreadsheets and interfaces using remote apps and such for work. If so what device (make and model) should I get? Is it like a USB hub (which I will need to get to have multiple USB ports... Question 2:For home use I would like to get a real high quality monitor to use as a second (main). How big can the graphics handle. Any recommendations in the 22-27 inch size, or bigger if it can handle it. Thanks again,Chris

Hi, I upgraded to windows 10 from windows 7. I have tried numerous fixes to get it to stay connected but it just doesn't seem to work.
I have done all the well documented fixes including registry edits, changing the power management settings on my network device and it just doesn't seem to help. The longest I have managed to stay online in one session is about 45 minutes, but more often than not, it doesn't stay connected longer than 15.

Once the connection is lost, the network cannot connect, or even be found on occasion. This forces me to restart the computer to re-establish the connection.

Does anyone have any ideas, as it's getting to the point where I am tempted to just bin the thing and get a new computer with a version of windows 10 that is not upgraded from an old OS.

Nope, but a long-shot:

ipconfig /flushdns
Could be due to corrupted config.

Just purchsed the Lenovo Z580 at Staples for 549.99.  The Windows 8 OS is pre-installed on the machine.  Starts up fine, navigates fine, but for some reason the wireless seems to go from Connected to Limited to Connecting to No Network all in the span of ten seconds.  I can get the internet to work for about five seconds max, but after that nothing. Is it a defective machine or am I missing something?

I purchased my Yoga 900 a month or so ago and it's been great.  All of the sudden this morning it wouldn't boot.  There are no visible lights on the machine, the power button doesn't react or glow.   I've tried fiddling with the AC adapter, making sure all cables are tight and that the outlet is function.  I've tried powering it on with and without the AC attached.  I've tried holding down the power button for 30 seconds.  I've tried to press that little reset button with a toothpick. No response. Any ideas?

I am using an HP Pavilion dv7 with a Intel(R) Centrino(R) Wireless-N 2230 network adapter trying to connect to the wifi router on campus from my dorm room. The routers are placed in the common areas, so I do not receive a very strong signal in my room, but it works good enough for my Android phone to connect just fine and have a reasonable speed. My laptop on the other hand, which works fine in the common areas with good signals, at times struggles to get internet. I have episodes where I can connect just fine and receive sufficient speed, but then at other times, I connect to the wifi but I cannot connect to the internet. I click Diagnose on the Wireless Network Connection Status, which runs and claims to find an error which is fixed by resetting the wireless adapter. Rarely does this actually fix the problem though. I am curious as to what could be causing this spotty internet connection with my laptop, when my phone always works just fine. Could it be something with HP's default WLAN manager? I read something about updating to Intel's wifi manager but I could not get the update to work with my Windows 7 64-bit OS. Does anyone have some insight that can make my laptop connect better?

I've had a Yoga 900 13ISK (model 80MK - the Best Buy Blue Label edition - bought open box) for almost a month now, and I'm having constant issues with the display driver, or perhaps it's just the display itself.  I've done a pretty thorough search, and unless I'm not searching the right terms for what is happening to my Yoga, I am apparently the only person this is happening to, thus, I'm starting to wonder if I have a bad panel rather than an Intel display driver issue.  Has anyone else run into this? The basic issue is this - The system will automatically update the graphics driver to the latest version despite having the update checked off to ignore. When that happens, all of my screen colors (yes, the built-in display, not an external monitor) flip. Red becomes blue, blue becomes orange, green becomes light blue, etc. When I call Lenovo support (and I did purchase an extended warranty through Lenovo), they remote into my machine, and the screen colors look fine to them, but obviously look quite different to me. I ended up having to send them a screenshot of the issue, and was then told "we may be aware of a graphics issue with the current drivers, please uninstall them and use generic display drivers," and that they are working on new ones for the 900. I have a fairly decent knowledge base in troubleshooting and having lived through the 3Dfx era of video cards, I'm fully capable of doing the driver tango and fixing most problems, but this one is throwi... Hello everyone!

Starting yesterday morning, my laptop will connect to my wireless for about 3-5 minutes, then will disconnect me. While disconnected, I double-click my "Connect to a network" icon and see that my network is available. I attempt to connect, but it states simply that it could not connect to the network (with no other reason stated such as not in range, not available, etc.) Sometimes I get really lucky and can stay connected up to an hour. However, whenever I am connected for any amount of time, while I surf the web or am on World of Warcraft, it it impossible to do anything because it takes SO LONG to load anything!
My other CPU (desktop) is connected via Ethernet and I experience no problems what-so-ever, which rules out any modem issues.

Alright, so, my Sony VAIO VPCEH36FX laptop has trouble staying connected to wireless for long. I've only had it for about a week now and it's been happening since Day 1. It alternates between trying to connect, to being connected but with limited access, to not being connected at all. However, if I unplug the router and plug it back in, the laptop will work fine anywhere from 30 minutes to a couple hours. But after that it goes back to trying to connect/limited access. I doubt it's a problem with the router, as all other devices in the house work fine with it.

It's a Linksys Cisco router. It doesn't have a password or anything.

Answer:Sony VAIO laptop having trouble staying connected

Make sure you have the latest wireless driver. If it is an integrated adapter get the driver from Sony's web site. If an external adapter get the driver from the adapter manufacturer's site.

If still a problem show the following for a good connection and for the "limited access" ...

Open a (black) Command Prompt window:
Hold the Windows logo key and press r; in the Run box type cmd and click on OK.

Type the following command:

IPCONFIG /ALL

[Note that there is no space between the slash and ALL.]

Right click in the command window and choose Select All, then hit Enter.
Paste the results in a message here.

If necessary use a text file and removable media to copy the results to a computer with internet access.

I bought my Mom a Laptop this past Christmas.  It is a Dell Inspiron 1501 with Vista Home Basic.  The computer works fine, but it WILL NOT stay connected to the Internet.  We have Dial-Up and I also have a Desktop that is connected and the Desktop stays connected to the Internet.  But, the Laptop usually disconnects after a few minutes.  Sometimes it will stay connected for an hour or two, but 95% of the time, it only stays connected for a few minutes.  I have contacted my ISP, however they don't offer Tech Support for Vista.  Would that have something to do with it?  Could it be possible that since they don't have support for Vista, that Vista is causing problems with the ISP?  I have also checked the modem and it says that it is working properly.  I also contacted Dell and downloaded the updates for the modem, but it doesn't seem like they were installed.  Can anyone help me with this problem?  Also, I have downloaded the updated drivers twice, but the date is still the date of the old ones.  It is like they aren't downloading.  Will uninstalling the existing ones and THEN downloading the updated ones make them install correctly?  Thanks in advance!

I've run into a really annoying issue with my Toshiba laptop running Windows 7. It uses the Realtek 8192E wireless NIC.

I recently (in January) ditched my WRT610N router for a Netgear WNDR3700. The WRT610N got hit by a surge in December, and started losing its settings every few days, and needing to be reconfigured from scratch every few days. I'd had it for two years, and never been satisfied with range or speed.

Netgear worked fine at first. I tested it with my desktop machine, which is connected wirelessly (and runs Windows 7) and with my laptop which also runs Windows 7 and connects wirelessly.

A few weeks ago, the laptop started having weird problems.

Intermittently (every 30-60 seconds) a little yellow exclamation mark would appear over the bars showing internet strength, and the laptop wouldn't be able to access *anything*. Then, the exclamation mark would go away, and I'd be able to use it...then 60 seconds later, it would be back, and I'd lose connectivity again.

When it's working, it's slow......it's dropped from getting speeds of about 38 Mbps for file transfer to about 500 Kbps.

Further, consistently, since the problem started occurring, my wife has run into an issue where if she tries logging into Facebook, the laptop will just sit there and read and read and read, but never get in. We can walk away, come back 15 minutes later, and the little icon for IE is still spinning, telling us it's still trying to load the page. Same thing with logging into To... Read more

Regarding your questions:
1. If you keep the laptop in a desk and don't move it around then yeah, it's fine having the earbuds/headphones connected all the time (i use this setup too but instead of headphones, I use an external speaker).

2. Same as the above, if you use the laptop on a desk and don't move it around then yes, you can always keep it plugged-in but I recommend you enable Conservation Mode (for Win8.1) or Optimized Battery Health (for WIn8.0) to limit the battery charge to 60%. This feature will prolong the battery life by not overcharging it and will route the power to the AC adapter. This is also my setup at home but I usually unplug the AC adapter from the outlet after I shutdown the machine.

I've done a decent bit of research and so far have no idea what the issue is as it's not that easy to search for.Just over a month ago i turned my laptop on to find my Network bar showing that i wasn't connected to a network, however it seems i am still somehow connected to my router and can still access the internet.Apart from being rather annoying to see the little no connection symbol, my connection speed has severely suffered since it's dropped from being lightning fast & instantly loading pages, down to taking several seconds for a page to load & having to give videos a good head start to buffer properly.I have used other laptops and computers with my router and that seems to run fine, however if i connect my ethernet cable to the laptop the issue still remains.Any ideas & assistance would be greatly appriciated as i'm baffled,Searching for "being connected to a network but not connected to a network" isn't the easiest search

Answer:G570 Wireless Connection Issues. Connected whilst not connected?

Hi James, welcome to the forum,

have you tried to see if you can get a connection to the internet using safe mode with networking?  -  From a cold start press F8 at boot and select safe mode with networking.

If you can connect to the internet the problem could lie with a firewall software, there have been a few threads over the last couple of weeks where McAfee seems to have been the culprit.  The solution was to uninstall and then reinstall it.

Hi,
I have a iBall-baton router, i did the wifi setup for the same.
The setup seems fair and works great when connected through mobile.
The problem lies when i connect through my laptop, its gets disconnected every 2 mins and i have to reconnect again and its works normal for another few mins and then again goes off.
I googled a lot and found that windows 8 machines look for other/better wifi networks, and that maybe the reason of disconnection mobiles are able to handle this.
Please suggest me a way wherein i can make this wifi as the default and stop windows from searching for networks.
I hope my query is clear, i am not sure if this should go in this group or the windows 8 help group, please do the needful if i have posted in the wrong group.
Expecting a solution coz i believe many might have faced this issue before.
Thanks in advance,
Ajin

Answer:Wifi gets disconnected frequently connected by laptop, works great when connected by mobile

I would suspect the wireless adaptor in the laptop. Quite cheap to try something like this.

I've searched for the solution to this online but I haven't found someone describing the symptoms I'm having.  What I am experiencing is Wifi slowing or cutting in and out every few seconds when a bluetooth device is connected.  It looks like it is any bluetooth device (tried both a gamepad and mouse and it happened for both).  I can't tell if it is the wifi speed or connection that is the issue.  When monitoring on Windows network settings, the connection shows solid and doesn't detect any issues.  I can mostly see the problem happening with Steam In-Home streaming, the connection is very stable without a bluetooth device, but becomes completely unusable with one connected. I've tried installing the different driver suggestions from the forums on other wifi connection issues with no resolution.  I've also tried completely removing both the blutooth and wifi drivers and reinstalling without any luck either.

Hi Guys, I have a Lenovo Yoga 2 laptop. This is the second time I have had issues with the WiFi dropping out frequently.  The first time was when I first downloaded windows 10 - I downloaded a new driver from the Lenovo website and everything worked perfectly.  The last couple of months it has been playing up again. My phone and any other devices will be connected to the internet however my laptop will repeatedly disconnect from the internet, this happens a ridiculous amount of times everyday - and it's not just my home wifi! Im currently at my university library and it does the same thing. It just drops out randomly and says "not connected - no connects are available" I have to keep restarting my laptop for it to reconnect to the internet (I know that's probably not the best thing to do but it's the only thing that sometimes works). I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the driver software, I've scanned for hardware changes and nothing comes up?? Has anyone got any ideas on anything else I could try?  Thank you all!

Hi, my Lenovo yoga 310 suddenly isn't connecting to my network after automatic windows update. It just says no internet while it's connected, and there's no issue with the internet on other devices. I'm not too computer savvy so any simple quick fixes would be great as I study online and need my laptop back!! Thanks guys.

Hi adlimas

Wifi Antenna cabels are through the LCD Hinges bracket
 Spoiler (Highlight to read)
It might had been loose when it was reconnected.

But Before calling Technical Support please try you Computer first with other networks
    - Commercial Free Networks i.e.. coffee shops / stores
    - other home networks
This is to make sure it is not just some settings or adjustment issue

I am a very frustrated and angry customer at the moment as i keep running into Road Block and unacceptable answers.  This issue is enough to cause me to never buy another Lenovo laptop or any laptop at Best Buy!I bought my computer in July and in September i noticed a key had popped off-  the "< ," key next to the M key.  I have used the key board only when i was setting up-  now at my office and at customers i set it in downward dog mode ;-) and use a blue tooth key board.    So it is not from use that it broke.   I took the laptop into BEST BUY and was told that the key was missing a metal part on the back so they could not fix it onsite-  i would have to send it in and be without my laptop for a week to 10 days - unacceptable -  this was a month or more ago. I searched on the LENOVO website and could not find a way to purchase a single or the entire set of Keys!  I am self employed as a software consultant.   My life is pretty busy and i finally decided today to bite the bullet and ask for a call from Lenovo support.  Again i am told the only way to fix this is to send my laptop in for a repair.  I asked to just be able to buy a KEY - i am told that well they do not sell individual keys - they would replace the entire keyboard!  So sell me the keyboard and or send me one an i will take into best buy to have them replace it while i wait.  They cannot do that.   I live... I have a Lenovo Pro 3 and connect it to the Lenovo USB 3.0 dock where i have 2 monitors, mouse, and keyboard connected.

When the laptop is not connected to the dock, internet (wifi) speed is fine.  Keeping the laptop in the exact same spot and simply connecting to the dock using the USB 3.0 cable the internet speed is less than half according to speedtest.net

I don't have any screen resolution or lag issues.  Its just connecting the dock to the laptop slows down the wifi speed a lot.

Please help!!  Thanks.

My IdeaPad Yoga 13 has a problem with playing music via bluetooth A2DP profile. Audio plays well and without hiccups when I'm not downloading anything from the internet with high speeds but if I download something music playback starts to crackle and break. That is very annoying and I'm wondering why high wifi bandwidth would cause this kind of problem for bluetooth. If I've understood right, bluetooth and wifi modules reside on the same wireless card on Yoga but still, shouldn't they be separate in a way that they wouldn't be able to affect each other's performance? I'm using Nokia MD-310 Wireless Receiver with my Yoga. My second problem is about the same wireless card, too. My wifi works otherwise well and I haven't had any speed problems with it (unlike many others on this forum) but after a few weeks of using my Yoga it started to have problems with reconnecting to my wifi after waking up from sleep. It doesn't find any wifis unless I run the wireless troubleshoot which resets the wireless card. I've tried reinstalling the driver and setting windows 8 power management settings to maximum performance but nothing seems to solve these two problems. Does anyone have solution for these?

I've had this laptop for a good year now with no issues at all until recently (today), the wifi has refused to work at all. The device itself had some issues yesterday with the ram i added to it (8 gb crucial, I was having random chrome tabs crashing and blue screens due to memory management errors, so I figured I'd go back to the stock ram). The wifi was being a bit weird yesterday as well, with me needing to occasionally reset the wireless adapter to be able to pick up any connections, but it was fine after it happened a couple times. Then when I woke up this morning and wanted to use the laptop, I was greeted by the familiar red x in the bottom right taskbar, but when I went to reset the adapter, I got a different error: according to windows, a hardware switch on the yoga was preventing wifi from being turned on. The ideapad yoga does not have a wireless switch, which caused me some concern. I have an ubuntu partiion on this laptop, so to test that the issue was not specifically due to windows, I booted into it and the wifi worked fine. So Windows has deluded itself into thinking that my laptop's wifi switch is the problem, and nothing else is to blame. I've tried everything suggested in the old threads for this machines' wifi issues, I've un and reinstalled the drivers, I've gone into the BIOS to make sure everything was fine, but with no avail.  Whenever I try to turn wifi on, the option to do so is grayed out as such: ' If i go into the settings and ... I have the same problem.  Working fine one night, next morning nothing.  Ther was a difference in that  I did not  even get the option to turn the Wifi on.  There was no Wifi option  only bluetooth.  When I looke in the Hardware configuration via the control panel the bluetooth was there , but not the Realtek Wifi addaptor. All I did was reload the Wifi Driverhttp://support.lenovo.com/us/en/downloads/ds039324I had do it twice for it to take hold.  Only happed a few days ago but it seems to be working now

I have tried basically everything I know how to do to fix this problem, but no matter what I do I can't enable wifi in Windows or in Linux (booted up from a liveUSB). It says that it's disabled by hardware switch, but there is no external switch for wifi, nor is there a function key combo that I can press, and I have tried all of them. I have tried rfkill to no avail (though I hear this works on the pro model). No matter what I do, the wifi controller is still hard blocked. 1) How can I fix this? Without wifi my brand new laptop is bricked and useless to me.2) Why, exactly, is it possible to set a hardware switch anyway? What purpose could this possibly fulfill when there is already a means of disabling the wifi both in the BIOS and also in software? I've looked everywhere on all the other forums and I see a variety of solutions that assume that I have linux installed and also that I have internet access, and neither one of these is the case. Is anyone out there having a similar problem or had one and fixed it? Or am I sending this thing right back to Lenovo?

Answer:Ideapad Yoga 2 13 Wifi disabled by hardware switch

Try pressing the airplane button on the laptop (what use to be F7 by default). Also, if that fails, run the following command in linux:  rfkill unblock all....or if that fails, use this: sudo rfkill unblock wifi

Hi, I need virtualization to use Android Emulators on my Yoga 900. However, when I want to instal the Intel HAXM technology I received a message saying VT-X is not turned on. I did a full shutdown (powershell->stop-computer or shutdown /s / f /t 00 ) and changed to enable the option VT technology in the BIOS. However I still receive this error, also I checked the Windows Features to see if the Hyper-V was installed. Any help will be really appreciated, Thanks

What are the differences, if any? Also, is there a Lenovo application that detects the installed drivers and prompts me to download newer versions if available? I can't seem to find anything similar to the Lenovo Updater that I had on my Y-50. Thanks

Answer:Difference between Yoga 900-13ISK and Yoga 900-13I...

Good day.

The major differences I see, looking at: http://psref.lenovo.com/Product/Lenovo_Yoga_900_13_inch are: the SK2 has Intel Iris HD 540 graphics, slightly different CPUs and PCIe SSDs.

Regarding driver updates, there's a feature in Lenovo Companion that assists with that.

Hope this helps clarify.

Hi, I changed the wifi card to a Intel Wireless-AC 7260 to have 5Ghz and decent speed. The BIOS does not accept this as it is not whitelisted. Manually modifiying the BIOS would not be a huge problem but i refuse to do this because I bought this laptop with my money, don't want any company (neither Lenovo nor FCC) to limit what I do. I live in germany, so FCC is not my part. I bought this laptop and can do with it whatever I want. I am just pissed about this and dont want to spend my own time to fix this. I never had a Laptop with device whitelist before. Would I have known this before I bought it, I would have chosen another device / company. Is there anything I can do to avoit manipulating the BIOS on my own? Thanks for help. Silberling.

Hello there!I'm planing to buy a new notebook, and found the 710s-13ISK (80SW003NGE) interesting. There are 5 different configurations of it, with different CPUs and memory amount. The cheapest one is the only one i could afford, and it has the weakest CPU i3-6100U, which is no issue at all, but this one has only 4GB of DDR3L. I'd still like to buy this one, but only if I'm able to upgrade the memory some day to 8GB, in case the 4GB are not enough for my usage scenarios. Unfortunately i cannot find any specific information, whether the mainboard has a RAM slot (so the 4GB could be replaced by bigger 8GB), or the memory is soldered directly on the mainboard (means not replaceable). Does anyone have this particular notebook, and could give me some information about this one? Many, many thanks in advance!

My Yoga 900 has lost an end cap from  the hinge.  Is there a way to get replacement cap?

Answer:yoga 900 13isk hinge

Hi ptbeatty,

Greetings.

Checking on the FRU/parts list (page53) from the hardware manual, the hinge cap cannot be ordered separately as it is part of the entire LCD assembly.

You may check with technical support if they would be able to service it as usuallly functional issues are the ones covered by the warranty similar to this discussion.

Hope this help answer your query.

Hello, I bought my Yoga 900 around september-october last year and it was working great for me without any problems.  However, I came home from work the other day and it would not turn on. I plugged in the AC adapter to charge it and still there was no response. The battery indicator light is not showing any signs of life either. There has been no damage to it, and I had been using it the night before to watch a movie with no problems.  My issue is that I bought it in Canada but I am now living in China, and I'm not sure which steps should be taken to resolve this issue. Im not sure if there is email support or a phone number I can contact, but scouring through the various support pages has been useless. Anyways, any help would be greatly appreciated

I've updated my IdeaPad Yoga 11S to Windows 10 and updated all of my drivers (wireless card, video, audio, etc.), and yet I'm still struggling with making Miracast work reliably on my Roku streaming stick. I can cast the screen, but if I try to play audio, it cuts in and out badly. And, after several minutes, the connection will drop off completely.  I've talked to Roku, and they reminded me that screen mirroring is still in beta for them, but I don't have this audio problem when I mirror the screen of my LG Nexus 5 Android phone to the Roku stick. It only seems to be a problem on the Yoga. On a related note, my Windows Media Player gives me an option to play my music directly on the Roku stick, but when I do that, it doesn't make the connection at all.  The Roku stick works just fine if I cast a YouTube video, etc. to it from the Yoga, but screen mirroring is unstable, and the audio is worthless even when I can see the screen. Any ideas?

Got my orange Yoga 11 with Windows RT a few days ago here in the UK, and I have to say that initial impressions are very good. No fan at all, barely gets wam, switches on from connected standby almost instantly, and battery life is really impressive. Build quality seems solid - no peeling paintwork, and keyboard is securely fastened, screen is great quality, there's some backlight bleed on the right side, but only visible when at 100% against a black background (i.e. never). There's a bit more flex and 'give' in the screen than I expected, but nothing I can't live with. Wifi signal is also strong and connections don't drop like others are seeing with the Yoga 13.So, Windows RT ... still getting used to it, but here are some initial niggles:  there only appears to be one Lenovo RT settings app available in the Store, and it's fairly useless, since all it does is provide a switch to lock/unlock keyboard in different orientations (why?). No Lenovo drivers are available from here either, I guess these all come from Windows Update for the RT model instead? The problems I'm having stem from not being able to tweak some system & hardware settings properly because of the above and the need to rely on stock driiver configs, specifically:- Keyboard: it can be quite sluggish, and doesn't register repeat letters very well (like in 'tell' or 'soon') at my typing speed. I've never experienced this with any keyboard, nevermind a Lenovo one. The stock keyboard config under Control Pa... Read more

Well, I got to the root of one of the issues anyway: bluetooth conflicts with wireless. Disabling wireless completely allows playing to a bluetooth speaker without any skipping and breaking up. Re-enable wireless, and the issue is back (with Bluetooth Collaboration both on and off in the wireless adapter settings). That hopefully will help you to find a solution.

Answer:Ideapad yoga 13 - issues when converted

Hi and welcome,

I do not know what's wrong and what should cause it to happen, but there's one thing I'd like you to try. In the system tray, next to the clock in the bottom right hand corner there should be a red 'Harmony' icon. Can you please right click (or tap and hold on the screen) on it and turn it off? It will turn gray. Now, try to use your Yoga in tablet mode and let us know if there's any change/improvement.

Hi,I porchased a new Lenovo Ideapad Yoga 500-15, I'm having three troubles at starting using:1) The graphics driver falls almost every time in browsers(edge and firefox) when i watching videos, load sites with sliders or scrolling page down in ebay. This is the error message: Spoiler (Highlight to read)"Display driver stopped responding and has recovered" "Display driver Intel HD graphics drivers for windows 8(R) stopped responding and has successfully recovered""Display driver stopped responding and has recovered" "Display driver Intel HD graphics drivers for windows 8(R) stopped responding and has successfully recovered"I tied to download and install a new driver from her for integreated video card Intel HD graphics 520, but that is impossible because it says that the driver is not validate for this computer. 2) When the laptop plugged in, the mouse/touchpad freezes (or lagging) in every 1 second. I found this happens when the process "FMAPP" running in the background. I read in some sites that this process belongs to "Realtek High Definition Audio Driver", but in my expirence when i kill this procces nothing not changing to audio. 3) The screen too dark and yellowish, any solution to fix it? Specifications:OS: Windows 10CPU: Intel core i5 6200UGPU: Intel HD graphics 520 + NVIDIA 920MMemory: 8GB DDR3

Hi there, I've been trying my best to find the ideapad 710s-13ISK with the i7 processor and iris 540 graphics. However this has not been easy at all. I live in Belgium and I have not found a single (web)shop that has this product. In the Netherlands (close to Belgium) I can only find this product on the Lenovo website, nowhere else. I've been told I can't purchase it from the NL website, so do I have any way of getting this specific laptop? (http://shop.lenovo.com/nl/nl/laptops/ideapad/700-series/710s/) I know it's not really a good question to put on the forums, but I have been struggling to reach Lenovo (both BE and NL). Thanks in advance, Sam

Hi All,  I bought a Yoga 900-13ISK and after 6 months, with no reason at all, it crashed. The only thing I get is the Lenovo sign when I turn it on. I then get a blue pop up screen (After 10 minutes aproximately) stating "Default Boot Device Missing or Boot Failed. Insert Recovery Media and Hit any Key. Then select 'Boot Manager' to choose a new Boot Device or to Boot Recovery Media. If I reboot it to get the BIOS Menu, it does not do anything until 30 minutes later, that the BIOS screen starts up (I can see the Hard Disk detected (Liteon CV1-8B256 SSD). I tried booting it with a USB containing hiren software with XP and errors still appear. Any idea? I haven't installed anything weird lately. It started happening from one day to the other. Any clues? ThanksErnesto

I love my new Yoga 900 but I'm struggling with one issue that's driving me a bit bonkers. I use the Yoga as my home computer that needs to be connected to both an external display as well as a gigabit ethernet.  I purchased the Dell D1000 usb3 port replicator that has display ports, usb ports as well as a gigbit ethernet.  The displays work fine, and the ethernet and usb work fine whe the Yoga is awake, but my problem is waking the Yoga from sleep.  If my mouse is plugged into the Dell D1000 usb port, it will NOT wake the Yoga from sleep (neither will a usb keyboard or the wake-on-lan feature of the ethernet).  If I unplug the usb receiver for the mouse and plug it directly into the Yoga, it does awaken the PC from sleep. Problem: I really need the Wake-On-Lan feature and my understanding is that the Wireless LAN will not work for wake-on-lan.  is there any way to make the wake-on-lan (or any other wake feature) work through a usb adapter? I've made wake-on-lan work for every PC I've owned in the past several years, so I think I know how it works, but i can't seem to make it function for the Yoga, no matter what.  There is NO bios setting for wake-on-lan (or wake on anything) that I can find. Anybody made wake from usb port replicator work on a Yoga 900?  If so, please share what replicators/devices you used and how they were configured. Thanks ... Ed

Hello I have a Lenovo Yoga 900 13ISK (not 13ISK2) with a SATA M.2 SSD. I know that the 13ISK2 supports PCIe SSDs with NVMe. Does the 13ISK also support PCIe and NVMe on the M.2 connector or is it SATA only?

I have been having issues with the touchpad for over a year on my Lenovo Yoga 900. I used to be able to fix it by uninstalling/ reinstalling the drivers but this no longer works reliable. If I didn't have a touch screen I wouldn't be able to use the computer at all. I also have to carry a mouse with me every where I go for when the touch pad fails. I have tried every fix that I have read in the forums. It has stopped working right in the middle of me using the computer and not just after start up. BIOS: Up to dateSynpatics Drivers: Up to dateF6 function doesn't even work when the touchpad is working so that's not the problem. Error: I2C HID Device - error 10 This device cannot start on Intel Serial IO I2C Host Controller - 9D61When I go to the driver details it says it's from 2006 even though I have the synpatics one installed. I have tried getting it to update to the synaptics driver but it won't and windows update doesn't work either. Other observations: The touchpad completely disappears in the system settings as I only see options for a mouse and no touchpad. The synpaptics icon in the taskbar also disappears when the touchpad stops working. I don't know what else to do but I use my laptop for both of my jobs and having to rely on a mouse at times is super inconvenient especially I am working mobile without a desk. Please help!

Hi guys, I purchased a Lenovo Yoga 900 last week from an online seller here in Germany. When it arrived, I did a full system check to make sure everything is working on this close to ? 1400 machine. It turns out everything except the internal microphone is working fine. Specifically, I cannot use the microphone whatsoever. I just hear a loud, static noise when I listen to the mic through the speakers. When I say something, I don't hear anything I say though, only the static.  So I tried updating all my drivers and playing around with the properties of my microphone like changing levels up to all the way down and disabling/enabling various sound effects. All this didn't resolve my issue. So I tried more invasive stuff like updating my BIOS and, as a last resort, reset Windows 10. To all avail, this also didn't resolve my issue. So I am out of answers now and suspecting that my built-in microphone has been poorly shielded or has some broken wire somewhere.  What do you guys think? I can't find anything about microphone issues on the Yoga 900 and wanted to make sure that it's in fact a hardware fault.

Hi, This morning my screen was black (but not off, the backlight works) and when I turn it on the screen works for about a second before it goes black again. I can use an external monitor. I have updated as much as I can, all drivers should be updated, and I ran a system check with Lenovo companion, nothing was found. I can't seem to safe mode to work on the external monitor.Yesterday I updated Windows 10 (Cumulative update, KB3176938). Can anyone help?

Just checking, but did you shutdown the Yoga 900 first, before pushing the Novo button? I believe that if you press the button while Windows is running, you will get a different set of menus and actions.

Trying powering down the Yoga 900 completely, and then push the button. That should take you into the Recovery system and enable you to do a fresh install of the factory image of Windows from Lenovo. That will also include Lenovo applications such as Photo Master.

Several times my brand new Yoga 900 shut off unexpectedly, visually looked like a kill-switch off, not a Windows shutdown or something. Different battery charge level: 30%, 55%, 75%, 95%--didn't matter; even on AC once. I had to turn it on and continue work. It irritated a log. But the last time it just didn't turn on. When I press Power button, the keyboard lits, the fan goes crazy, the screen stays black, and in five seconds it turns off. The same with NOVO button, but some times no fan going crazy, and no shutdown in five seconds, just nothing happening: the power button glows, the screen is black, no reaction on keyboard or screen touches--have to power it off in some time. I saw similar problems with Yoga 500 or 700, some say disconnecting the battery helps. I don't know about 500 or 700, but in 900 the battery is not detachable, and I assume taking the cover off to reach the battery would clear away the warranty, so that is not the solution in my case. Unfortunately, I am away from the States now, where I had a purchase, so sending it back not an option at the moment. Could anyone advise, please? Thanks!

Hi,  I am about to purchase a Lenovo Yoga 900 13ISK. I am wondering whether it is possible to connect a 2K or 4K Monitor to the device through its USB-C port and run it at 60Hz or above? Furthermore, I would like to know whether the USB-C port is USB standard 3.0 (gen1) or 3.1 (gen2) and whether the device can be charged through this port if I buy a USB-C charger? Lastly, I am wondering whether it is possible to connect a USB or USB-C docking station with monitor, speakers, mouse, keyboard, printer and network with the Yoga 900? I am looking forward to your response! Best regards

Hi.    I have a display issue that someone else has had and, unfortunately, the problem was so severe that the fix was that her computer was replaced by Lenovo via Best Buy.  I assume her warranty took care of it.  I'm hoping for a less expensive solution as I bought mine 13 months ago and the warranty expired last month.    "When I turn on my Yoga 900, I see the "LENOVO" flash on the screen, then fade and I am left with either a gray or black screen.  Totally blank.  I tried the "turn off, press and hold f8 while you power on" suggestion I found online, but really no change though once and only once there was a brief flash of something, gone in a flash and back to blank screen.   Really totally helpless with just a blank screen!" - I have the same issue.   I also bought the laptop at Best Buy and sent it out to the Geek Squad.  They said that the 256GB Solid State Drive (5SD0H00092) needed to be replaced and they wanted to charge $582 for parts ($431) and labor ($151).  I declined the service so, basically, I paid a $35 (and a week's time) for a consultation in the form of the deposit.   The entire reason I paid extra and bought a top of the line laptop with an SSD is because I wanted it to last.  It dosen't seem right to pay 50% of the orginal cost to get it fixed.  When I bought it last year, I could have spent half...
