Yoga 11s - Unstable Bluetooth Audio connection

Question: Yoga 11s - Unstable Bluetooth Audio connection

I have a Yoga 11S running Windows 10. My keyboard and mouse are both bluetooth and working fine. I have an adaptor for my Bose audio speaker wich pairs fine but the audio is very unstable. When I pair my Android phone with the same adaptor it works fine. I have checked the adaptor on other Bose devices and it works fine. It's my Lenovo. I've checked all the drivers I can think of. Any suggestions?

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Answer: Yoga 11s - Unstable Bluetooth Audio connection

Hello Rebeck16!

It is possible that the bluetooth device is going to sleep occasionally to save power.

Try opening Device Manager, find your bluetooth device (On my Lenovo, it is a Broadcom bluetooth module. Yours may be an Intel). Right click to go to the device properties. Under the last tab, uncheck "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power" and hit OK.

Hi all,Just bought my Yoga yesterday and am thoroughly enjoying it. A problem I encountered was when trying to pair the Bluetooth to a Belkin A2DP receiver (essentially, it appears as a Bluetooth audio headset to the computer). Audio quality sent to the speaker is very poor. I verified that the Belkin unit was functioning properly by pairing two other Bluetooth devices and having no issues with audio playback. I also updated to the latest RealTek Bluetooth driver on Lenovo's website. Still with bad audio quality. Any suggestions appreciated :-)

Answer:Yoga 13 - Bluetooth audio

Hi HummerMan3,
Thanks for posting. Sorry hear about the issues you're facing.
I too have a yoga I do agree it is a superb machine. In regards to the bluetooth Audio, Personally I have not tested the bluetooth or the Bluetooth Audio. I was just wondering when you mentioned the audio being really poor, do mean that the sound distorts or does the sound does not play loudly? How about when playing normally on the laptop? Do still get the same results.
Sorry for the list of question, but just wanted to be sure what exactly I'm dealing with.
Do let me know.

Was there a recent bluetooth update that might becausing this issue?

Purchased a Yoga 2 Pro a month ago.Noticed when connecting to a bluetooth 3.0 Wireless headset, the signal is relatively weak and intermittently interrupted when walking away from the computer. Wondering is this an isolated issue to a unit?Has anyone tried to connect Yoga 2 Pro with any bluetooth 3.0 Wireless headset? Is it working ok? Thx.

When I am using my bluetooth connection on my Yoga 3 Pro and typing at the same time the connection drops off constantly. I can only assume that the bluetooth antenna is right below my hands. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to fix this? I would really prefer to not have another USB device sticking out of the tablet while I am using it. I have already had to add a WiFi USB device to extend the poor range of the WiFi card that came from the factory. It really defeats the purpose of this device being so portable. This seems like a pretty big design flaw. Thanks!

Answer:Poor Bluetooth Connection Yoga 3 Pro

I have the same problem.I found that if I rest my hand on the right of the touchpad then the bluetooth connection to the speakers breaks.

I have a Yoga 13 (Windows 8) and a Lenovo Thinkpad Bluetooth keyboard.  The keyboard disconnects from the computer every few minutes.  Sometimes it reconnects on its own after 30 seconds or so.  Sometimes it needs to be restarted and sometimes it won't reconnect for several minutes despite numerous restarts. I have replaced the keyboard.  The new keyboard behaves exactly the same way.I have replaced the wireless card.  No improvement. It is possible that the new wireless card is also defective. I have tried to update drivers, although the drivers for the keyboard still seem to be dated June 2006, which seems an awfully long time ago. Any ideas?  Lenovo seems stumped (or just does not want to help diagnose the problem).  I do have onsite service.

I have connected my blueooth headphones to my Yoga 710 laptop, It says that they are connected, but when I listen to audio it comes out of my laptop. If I click on the speaker button in the bottom right corner it still says its going through my realtek high definition audio. If i click the playback devices, it shows my bluetooth speakers and right click them it gives me the option to connect, however it doesn't work.

Answer:Lenovo Yoga 710 Unable to receive audio through Bluetooth

Hi Jbriand03, Welcome to the Community, nice to have you here.Under the playback device do you have any option to set the headset as the default device? If there is an option set the headset as the default. Cheers,

I am trying to play audio on the Yoga 2 Pro (Win 8.1) using bluetooth from a smart phone. The smart phone can be paired and the Devices and Printers window contain its icon. The Services list shown for this icon contains only File Transfer and Synchronize PIM Data. There is no provision of remote audio control of the phone (which will allo the audio to be played on the Yoga machine). BTW, this method works fine on my Win 7 machine with the same smart phone.  Please let me know if this capability has been removed from 8.1, so I would not waste time trying to access it. Also, do I need additional software for this purpose and what it might be. May thanks in advance,DKS_NJ

Hi everyone,I have got a Yoga pro 2 recently and the problem I'm having is that I;m unable to stream audio from my Nexus 5 phone to the pc through bluetooth. The device and the pc paired normally during setup. Though I find it odd that when I turn off bluetooth connectivity on the phone and turn it back on, the pc does not automatically connect so I have to unpair or remove and redo a new find and pair for the two. Ok, now the problem is after the connection is set nothing happens and there is no way to stream the audio to the yoga pc running windows 8.1. On my other pc, a Sony Vaio, also running win 8.1 pro (upgraded from win 8 pro) , once the phone and the Sony are paired via bluetooth, a windows pops out to immediately play the audio. I have check all the bluetooth drivers and they are up to date, and I even downloaded bluetooth drivers from lenovo support but no change. What's missing? Why can I not stream audio via BT? Why nothing happens when connected?

Hi I have connected the microsoft wedge mouse and a bluetooth headset to my yoga. I am having the following problems 1, Mouse - at certain times the mouse icon start flashing and moving around haphazardly - as i move the mouse the mouse icon moves very irregularly as if there is interferance between transmission of laptop and mouse - this last for a few seconds and then returns back to normal2, Bluetooth audio - whilst playing a video on youtube the mouse cuts for half to 1 sec at various points. This does not happen with laptop speakers. I tried uninstalling the bluetooth drivers as it was suggested, yet this did not solve the issue. Hope this issue can be solved Ken

Answer:Lenovo Yoga Bluetooth connection problem

I started having a similar issue when I installed the latest Wifi/BT driver.  Even after I rolled back to the older driver, something had changed. I no longer am able to use my BT Creative D100 speakers as it causes my BT mouse to act up (similar symptoms you are having; but my mouse never stabilized). In addition, my USB3 Ethernet adapter no longer automatically switches back to Wifi when I unplug it (I have to manually reconnect to my wireless router). I very much regret installing the new drivers.  Before that, my Yoga 13 was very solid/stable.

Hi.I've been lurking for a bit and have had most of my questions answered and issues solved bythis fine community. Thank you!My problem is that I can add my bt headphones (I've tried two different sets) in the "add device"option, but once I shut the bt device (headphones in my case) off and then turn them back onagain the sound continues to come from the tablet or stereo speakers (which ever I'm using atthe time) and the sound won't switch to the bt headphones automatically. I must manually go theSound settings in Control Panel options and select the bt headphone to use them again. As ofright now I've got a shortcut to the Sound options on my desktop. Now this isn't a deal breaker forme, but there's got to be an easier way! LOLS!Any suggestions? Thanks! And for the record I have no wifi issues and I've upgraded to 8 gigs of ram so I'm keeping this!!!

Answer:Yoga 13 Bluetooth Issues (Headphone Connection)

I haven't tried using a Bluetooth headset with Windows, but check: 1.  Right-click on the sound tray icon, select Playback devices.  Does it show a 2nd bluetooth headset device in addition to Speakers?  If so, left-click on it and try the "Set Default" dropown menu on the bottom to make it the Default device (or some other option that works better). 2. 3.

Hi everyone,
its day five with Win8 and the next Problem occurs.
In Win7 i installed Bluetooth and connected my Windowsphone7 without ANY Problems, using my X230 for making calls with the setting headset and speakerphone:
Link to picture
Now in Windows8 the option headset and speakerphone does not appear ANY MORE.
THIS IS UNBELIEVABE. Is this a Problem of the Thinkpad's Bluetooth 4.0 Stack?
It may be a Problem of Win8 but I'm not sure.
Up to now, i can STREAM Audio from my Phone to the Computer (holy crap who needs this) but using it for calls... no way, because the phone wont be recognized as in Win7. So now bluetooth has become useless in my Thinkpad.
I really dont know if there will be any solution, but I'm posting for x230 Users to be careful when upgrading to Win8.
There will be much more problems you expect...
best regards

I'm not sure this is the right place to post this but I'm just going to guess that it is.

I recently upgraded my desktop from 7 to 10. I used to connect my laptop (already using 10) to my desktop via Bluetooth and it allowed me to select the desktop pc's speakers as audio output, effectively mixing both computers' audio through my headphones attached to the desktop. This is no longer something my computers seem to do; literally all that has changed is that I upgraded the desktop OS and I would have assumed this is something windows10 can do but the Bluetooth menu is almost comically unhelpful.
It used to be relatively easy to do this in 7 but I am at a loss as to how to do this in 10. Is this functionality somehow not a part of Win10?

Hi,I have an issue with connecting through bluethooth to my BT audio device.I am able to connect to the device with my android tablet, with my previous Lenovo laptop and even with my Blackberry. The computer founds the device, it recognises it as a BT audio device/sink, but when I click on the "listen to music" service nothing happens....I have reinstalled/upgraded the BT adapter to version 4.0 (Intel BT adapter v 4).I have tried evrything, I googled the problem etc but I couldn't find a solution, please help, it drives me crazy! Thanks in advance for any comments/ideas.

Answer:Bluetooth audio connection issue (on x240 with Win7)

Wohoo! -- I just solved the exact same problem.  Anyways: I could also pair to my headset, but nothing happened when I clicked the links. (I even tried to install Skype to see if that would enable the link, but that didn't help.) This is what you should do: Disable the Bluetooth radio ("Turn adapter off"). Computer will hang for a while and report a dll hanging. Continue through the dialog box (in effect killing the DLL process). Start the Bluetooth adapter again, and the links work. Use the VoIP link to use your headset for Lync, Skype, Hangouts or whatever. Hope this helps. Please let me know if it works.  Cheers, ~Silverjam :-)

Purchased a Yoga 2 Pro a few weeks ago. Lots of issues. Very unstable with a number of my apps, including any Flash on Firefox browser (Flash crash after a few minutes), Corel x4 (screen blanking issues), Thunderbird e-mail (program hangs), and HDHomeRun -- a wi-fi bandwidth-intensive app for watching TV on PC. Seems like there's just not enough bandwidth on the wi-fi to keep up with the TV streaming data. The video image is pixelated and unusable. My last PC (Asus Zenbook) never had a problem with HDHomeRun or any other application. Is the Yoga 2 Pro really this poorly designed? Or did I just get a lemon?

Answer:Yoga 2 Pro Unstable with Many Programs

Hi Drizzy,I've been using the Y2P for more than a year now and haven't encounter the flash issue. I don't use Thunderbird however I will try it and let you know if its fine.As for the HDHomeRun, I don't think I can test that due to the location I am in.... In a separate note, have you tried different browsers?

Anyone having issues with the windows 10 settings app? Mine was running perfectly fine up until a week ago when windows 10 updated. Now the whole thing is a useless mess. The app is slow to open and half the time it opens, some of the settings are flat out missing. The color setting modes cause the display to flicker and black out several times before changing the color mode, but stop working and revert back to native soon after. Additionally I can no longer hook my computer up to any exteral display, if I do the screen flickers and blacks out multiple times until my computer crashes and comes up with the blue screen of death. After any reboot the computer hangs and the screen flashes 3-4 times before I can use it. And when I scroll in any window it distorts and breaks the image/text/webpage im scrolling through. If I only uninstall and reinstall the app as well as the System Interface Foundation it changes nothing and remains unstable If I uninstall and reinstall the app and SIF, and then uninstall and reinstall all intel video drivers, it takes care of some of the stability problems, there is no screen flashing or crashing. But, none of the video settings work. Night mode and color settings fail to work at all. If I uninstall/reinstall the intel drivers, and then the app/SIF, I end up in the same place I started with crashing and screen flashing. It seems like the app is no longer compatable and I'm just going to have to remove it all together,... I've tried two Realtek USB type-c Gb network adapters, one that comes with a usb-c to USB-A adapter, and the other that is usb type-c out of the box and both adapters are completely unstable, disconnecting and reconnecting constantly until disconnected. The device that uses the USB type-c adapter works perfectly on the standard USB 3.0 type-a port. The type-c port would be perfect for a wired network adapter, but the issue I've seen with two different adapters is troubling.

Question: Audio unstable

Having audio problems while playing avi's in windows media player 9 (had v11 and rolled back to v9 thinking the problem would be solved). The sound fluctuates from very, very loud to almost unhearable .. and during all this time I can hear all the background noise so clear. It's like the sound problem is only with the voices. Don't laugh, I think it's crazy too.

Thinking it might be a codec problem, I used a program to see if I had all the codecs I needed. It found one problem:
WMAPro over A/PDIF DMO ..... says it is "broken" and there is no driver installed for this codec.

I have searched and can't find any answer to my problem and I really could use some help. I keep my hand on the volume control in hopes that someday this problem will be solved.

Info on my computer ... if you need more, please ask ... Thank you
XP Pro SP3
Intel Core2

Thank you

I could only find WMAPro over S/PDIF DMO, can you check the error again just to make sure.

Also do you have any other media players installed, I know there is a strong possibility this is just a Media Player error but, but I just wanted to rule out any other issues.

DPC latency check confirms my observations. This is how my irqs look like:[IMG][/IMG][IMG][/IMG] Any idea what to change and HOW to change? How is your signal strength? The orientation (rather than distance) can make a BIG difference if you are close to the edge of your range.

I've got some problems with my DSL connection on an Acer notebook. I've got 2 cpu's, one is a desktop pc, and the other is the notebook. Both are connected to the internet through a router (just standard, not wireless).

The connection on my desktop pc is stable, never had any problems. The one on the notebook has been giving me grief ever since I first installed it. Sometimes it works perfectly for days, and sometimes it just goes on and off for an hour every two seconds or so. I'm very sure it isn't a problem with my ISP, as the desktop pc connects perfectly, even when the notebook can't. It is definitely nothing to do with both pc's using the 'net simultaneously btw! I've already tried the following:

- Interchanging the cables connecting both pc's
- Manually inputting the DNS server and assigning an IP address to both cpu's
- Various firewall settings as well as no firewall at all
- Clean windows install

Does anyone have ANY IDEA what the problem could be??????

Answer:DSL connection unstable

Have you switched ports on the router to check for a bad port?

Maybe some kind of overheating problem within the laptop? Make sure the air vents are clear. Check for any correlation between the problem happening and the apparent heat of the laptop or the fan running more than usual.

Hey guys, would it be possible to get some help? . I would like to know if it's possible for someone to ruin my internet speeds from outside of my network even if they dont have my ip.

A little backstory: I have had this internet for 2 or 3 years now, and have always had great things to say.
It's fibreoptic broadband 50mb/s download speed.

I'm pretty good at a small, dying game. I'm pretty sure in the past I have been victim to DoS attacks, which I really didn't care too much about, as I could just restart my router to get a new IP and be done with it.

However the other night when I was playing, connection smooth, someone was a little mad at me (the guy I'm 99% sure DoS's us all...) and I started spiking like crazy. After thinking it was just a DoS I restarted my router.

Here I am five days later, the spiking hasn't stopped at all, I've even wiped my pc and re-installed windows! I've phoned my ISP three times, they said the line seems okay...

TLDR: Can someone change my network settings or something from outside of my network? If so could I try any fixes you guys are aware of? THANKS FOR READING! -JM

Hi,I've connected up a BT Voyager 2091 router and can't get a stable wireless connection to it. It connects for 5-15mins and then fails and only does that when I'm less than 1m away from the router. The ethernet connection is working fine.My laptop wireless adapter (BT Voyager 1065) is working fine, since it does connect to the Voyager router at times and is always picking up my neighbours' networks. I'm trying to connect 2 laptops wirelessly and they're both having the same problem so that would suggest to me that it's a router problem.Since I'm on my 2nd Voyager 2091 in a week it seems unlikely that there's a fault with the router so I'm stumped! I've tried everything suggested by BT helpdesk people, including changing the router channel and reserving an IP address for my laptop's physical adress (spoofing? Not too sure of the technical term). If there's anything anyone can suggest I'll give it a try.I'm very close to dumping BT and trying a different provider but don't want to get another router and have the same problem. Is there something about my set up/home that could cause this problem? If there's something strange about my house that is interferring with the router's signal why would I be able to pick up my neighbours' networks?Any suggestions about a cause would be appreciated - this is driving me mad!

Answer:Unstable wireless connection

Hopefully this is the very common SSID WZC problem when another Network is within range.Simply enable SSID broadcast in the router interface and see if this fixes the problem. I assume you have WEP/WPA security, if not then do activate it.

I just installed the newest driver for my ethernet controller. Before this, I did not even have a driver at all, so it is not like I can revert back to a previous one in case this would be your recommendation. Here is the problem:

When I first log on to the computer, my internet connection is fine. After surfing online for two hours or so, my connection starts to get really unstable. The modem keeps rebooting, I keep getting an error saying that "A Network Cable is Unplugged" (even though it is not), etc. Once it starts this automatic rebooting, things just go completely downhill from there. It gets progressively worse until it reaches the point where the cable modem just has an error display (red status light) and I cannot get online at all.

Unplugging the power from the modem for some time (10 minutes or more) and rebooting the pc fixes the problem, but again the next day we do it all over again.

I am running Windows XP, SP2. It is a custom computer with an AsRock Conroe 1333 mother board and a Realtek RTL8139 Family Ethernet card. I have an RCA cable modem and it is hooking up to my pc through Ethernet. If there is anything else I can tell you to help me solve this problem please advise.

Thanks so much in advance - hopefully someone will tackle this with potential solutions for me.

Hi kkblade! Do you keep your router on all the time or do you just turn it on when you need it? I ask this because if you leave your router on all the time it can over heat and stop working correctely, e.g. in your case.

I don't know much about internet connection, until one day I lost my internet. Now every time I try to surf internet it's either I lost connection or I get a very slow connection. I've already contact my ISP and change my modem and the only thing they tell me is "Their signal is good". I'm also using a router, firmware is up to date, I'm connected to it via wire. My PC is in a good shape, win7 ultimate. So I think I don't have any problem in terms of hardware and software, I hope so.

My highest download speed so far is around 100kbps which should reach around 1mbps, and this is what I'm paying for. Since its summer vacation, it goes down to 10-50 kbps.
The speed change time to time and lost several times a day.

Now I have a few question:
Does the router position matters? Just to satisfy me.
Things may affect my connection speed?
How would I increase my internet signal and speed?

I just bought a HP laptop with VISTA. Every time I try to reach the Internet through the wireless router which is netgear, it always turns out limited connectivity or sometimes local only. I have to turn it off then turn it on to make the wireless work. I have another laptop with XP also has the same problem. I just wanna know why and anything I can do to fix it. Thank you in advance for your help.

Hey guys , Just installed windows 7 last week, notice my internet keeps going on and offline, its not my internet or network router, cuz my laptop is working fine, I tried disabling and re-enabling , doesn't seem to help, I have to reboot my pc every time. Do you guys think this is driver issues??

I have a PC Partner RD580AK9-A79D MB:

-Marvell 88E8052 PCI Express Gigabit LAN - updted this driver, still has problems.
-Realtek RTL8100C PCI LAN - can't seem to find working win7 drivers. downloaded a few, but keep getting incompatibility issues during install.
These are the two on board network cards.

thank you.

Answer:Unstable Internet Connection?

What router are you using? Does the laptop that works have Windows 7 installed or another OP system?

Realtek shows a Win7 driver for your RTL8100, five down from the top.

Marvell support shows some Window 7 drivers also for your Marvell 88E8052. Just scroll for your Op system "select a platform" then scroll to find your 88E052 on the list and then hit search.

Earlier thread:

My internet runs slow. I pay for up to 12mbit, I should get 11mbit according to the company guy I spoke to. Usually I get around 8mbit, but now it pendles between 1mbit and 7mbit.

I'm afraid it could be spyware or a virus that's causing this. I haven't noticed anything except the unstable internet connenction.

I ran a test with spybot and found some spyware that I deleted, but it didn't help.

Our current network setup is modem (speedtouch st536) --- router (belkin wireless g plus mimo) --- switch1 (cisco 5-port 10/100) --- switch2 (cisco 8-port 10/100). I am using Cat5 and Cat6.

3 ports of the wireless router are directly connected to 3 PCs

3 PCs are directly connected to switch 1

6 PCs are directly connected to switch 2

10 PCs via wireless connection

When I tried connecting my laptop directly from the modem there seems to be no problem. We would restart the modem to solve the issue but after couple of hours the Internet would disconnect again but network is okay.

Is there anything wrong with mu setup? Do I have to configure the router or switch?

Thanks a lot!

Hi, I have recently bought a new computer, and with it, a new Belkin USB wireless dongle. I am using a Zoom router which is what we have been using for a while now, and I had no problems connecting my old computer to it using the asus USB dongle. However, my new connection is very unstable...Firstly, when I turn on my computer it connects and then within the space of roughly 10 seconds it disconnects, then states the connection as limited, then connects again... it repeats this cycle if nothing is done. For some reason though, I found that by removing the USB dongle and putting it back, it will eventually connect and be stable (after a random number of times removing and replacing the dongle). The stability of the connection varies, it may be stable for 5 hours, or it may decide to drop and return to its unstable cycle after 5 minuts, it is very volatile. When using VOIP software my connection seems to drop for roughly a second or so every couple of minutes, (though it isn't a disconnection as such, it just seems like lag). None of the connection seems to make sense, since my old connection was fine apart from the odd disconnection, and I cant use my old dongle since I dont have the software to use it.When the connection is stable, I have maximum signal strength.Look forward to replies! :)

Answer:Wireless connection is unstable

Hi, Initially connect the modem directly to computer and check the internet connection is stable or not.If it is stable, proceed with following steps. Uninstall and reinstall the adapter and try to connect to any unsecured network, and check the internet connection is stable or not.If it is stable with some other unsecured network, then the problem is with the zoom router.then change the channel on router(try eith 1,3,11 or 13) and check the connection.still same problem, Update the driver for the router to latest one.If connetion is not stable, then the problem is with the Belkin USB adapter.Update the driver for the adapter and check. If still have a problem,Install the adapter in different computer and check whether the connection is stable or not.(This is the case router works fine, but wireless connection is not stable). If not stable in different computer, then there is problem in USB.

A few days ago my internet connection started to act strange, slowing down and speeding up without reason.
I use Steam a lot and I notice that on the download speed bar of Steam, my kbps is always a multiple of 100. Might be coincidence, but anyway.
I also noticed a strange file trying to load on startup. It loads the "open as" window everytime I boot the pc.

The main issue is the slow connection, which makes it hard to download my games off steam.
I'd be grateful if you guys could help me.

Also sorry if I get something wrong, I did the read and run me procedures but I'm kind of a newbie.

Over the past few weeks or so I have begun to notice that my connection will randomly become really slow for a hour or so before returning to normal. I have checked the other devices in my house to confirm that none of them are downloading, torrenting, streaming, or otherwise hogging the bandwidth during these times. The most recent one occurred while I was playing League of Legends and the ping in-game was varying between 87 and 3000+ as well as skype dropping in and out of the call.

The router I use is the Motorola SurfBoard SB6141 and the modem is a Netgear N750

Here are the router logs from today, during which it occurred multiple times:

OK here's the situation,My friend has Windows XP,recently her Nortons Internet Security 2005 subscription was running out.she decided she wanted to change her protection. She heard about Avast antispyware and decided to go with it.First she had to unistall the Nortons which she did. Then she Downed the Avast program and filled out the registration for it.When she went to sent it however she lost her connection. She has the program installed, she just does not have the key to finish. Now everytime she connects, she is on for about ten minutes or so and gets Booted off. After some looking around we discovered that under her internet properties,in the settings field, there is nothing listed in the username in Dial up settings.Could have Uninstalling Nortons somehow changed her settings. We went to control panel,Internet options, connections, settings.and her Automaticaly detect settings was unchecked. Can anyone please help me to help her.She can't maintain a connetion to do this by herself.Would re-installation of her ISP resolve this?Any help would be greatly appreciated. She looked in her isp log file, because she is constantly loosing her internet connection, and found these 2 things listed AB Sync error:100 + invalid cn:1. what are they? She can not connect so im trying to help her out.

Hi everyone, I'm new to the forum since I've just recently installed windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit to my PC
however I've already encountered some problem with it, everything works perfectly but the connection between my PC to my router is unstable, I can access the internet finely but sometimes (which happens at least once a day) the connection was cut off
and I am unable to connect back as it says "Unidentified Network" when this happens i was still able to access websites from my laptop which connected trough wireless
than to fix it I have to reset back my router and do the settings all over again
I've tried many solutions like turn off the firewalls for the connections, disabled bonjour, etc

can anyone help?
Thanks in advance

Answer:Unstable Network Connection

Hi there, i would bet this might have something to do with your router not recognising the PC's adapter through the ports, but then again if was able to connect and becomes unstable it looks like a driver issue.

Anyway, lets cover the router issue first. Is there an option on your router's control panel which has MAC clone otion?

My internet connection is acting weird. It pendels between 8mbit/sec and 1.6mbit/sec. It should be around 12mbit/sec. I don't know much about computers and I have no idea what's causing this. I don't have a reliable anti-virus program right now, and I only use the windows firewall for protection. Could someone be hacking me or could it be a virus?

Last month I got Charter internet and tv, we were getting a stable 60+mbps, with 2 PCs (one windows 7, the other windows 8), 2 iphones, and an ATT microcell connected, until Charter's DNS went down. I switched to google's DNS and it was fine, I switched back to Charter when it came back on.

A week ago I noticed the speed gradually dropping everyday, from 60+ one day, to 30 the next, then 20, then 11, then 3mbps on my PC (connected by Ethernet to router, then tried connected directly to the modem, it had the same outcome.) and the other user's PC. (which is getting 18+mbps wirelessly)

I finally got through to customer service (as we have no cell service here, thus the microcell) and they sent techs out today, they checked the lines and found them to be fine, and their equipment, connected to my router, was getting 60+mbps. They told me the issue had to be something in my PC throttling the connection.

I've done multiple virus and malware scans, my PC is clean, as is the other one, my network card is working correctly, as is the other computer's. I've done ping tests that were all fine. The issue is the same, connected wirelessly, Ethernet to router, or Ethernet to modem, all the same, slow and unstable, but just on the computers, the iphones, on the other hand, both are getting 30+mbps. (which is how high they can handle)

So to summarize;
Speed paid for, and that the lines are getting: 60+mbs

I have done all the things recommended in this forum plus everything recommended by Tiscali (including disconnecting all other USB peripherals !! - can you believe that one for advice ?)I am currently running click here which was recommended by the Sunday Times as being a more stable environment than Internet Explorer, but the problem persists. I can go for a week or two without problems and then it kicks in for several days at a time. Is this peculiar to Tiscali or are others experiencing this problem.

I have been experiencing irratic internet access over the past twenty four hours. I'm not sure if it is the server or my system. Below is the Hyjack this log, would one of you technical wizards please confrim there is nothing there to be concerned about.

I am able to open the internet about fifty percent of the time, even though he modum and router both indicate everything is OK. Then on those occasions I don't get the error page about connections, I can only open a few windows before the system becomes unstabel again and access is disrupted. I've been booting and reboot, cleaning all the files, deleting passwords, etc.

As you can see I have a few moments of access.

I may or may not be able to get back to read the message. I'm on highspeed cable, and dealt with the ISP this morning, got back on line only to be grounded again shortly thereafter.

Not being an expert on deciphering HiJack This logs, I won't try but...

It looks like you have two anti-virus programs running, Norton AV and AVG. That alone will create problems. There's no problem in having two intalled, the problems arise when both are running. Just disable the "full time protection" on one or the other, then keep both updated and use the disabled one for a backup, "fail safe" manual scan when needed.

It also looks like you've picked up some spyware along the information super highway. I suggest you download, install, immediately update and then run Spybot and/or AdAware (you can use them both.) Let them clean up any spyware found.

Then post back with a new HiJack This log.

Hello. Just like to start off by saying that I'm not at all that knowledgeable about computers and networking.

That said, my problem is I'm having lag/disconnection issues while playing WoW so I wanted to know if my connection is the problem or something else. The first rule of asking for help in the WOW technical forums is to post system specs and a tracert.

So here:

- Windows Vista Home Basic (6.0, Build 6001) Service Pack 1 (6001.vistasp1_gdr.090302-1506)
- Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Quad CPU Q6600 @ 2.40GHz (4 CPUs), ~2.4GHz
- 3070MB RAM
- DirectX 10

What does it mean when my tracert looks like this. Notice the first line already timed out:

1 * * * Request timed out.
2 24 ms 23 ms 24 ms []
3 24 ms 24 ms 24 ms []

Does that mean my connection is the problem? How do I tell if it's the connection or my network card or my router/modem that's giving me problems? (I am connected via ethernet cable btw, not wireless)

Answer:Unstable internet connection

Actually, a timeout on one node and then successful pings just mean that the node was not pingable. If the trace completes normally, you still have connectivity.

Register at DSLReports and run their Line Quality Tests. It's best to run this test with a direct wired connection to eliminate any wireless issues from the results. It's useful many times to run this test several times, and we'd like to see each of the results. Post the results link from the top of the test display page for each test run here.

The link to post is near the top of the page and looks like:

If you wish to post this result to a forum, please copy/paste this URL <- sample only, yours will obviously be different!
and your IP will be disguised.

Copy/paste that link here.

Note: You will have to enable PING (ICMP) request response either in your router (if you have one), or in your computer's firewall for direct modem connections. This is very important to get the most important part of the test to run.

Here's also the Line Quality Tests FAQ to help you understand the results. This will answer some questions about the line quality display.

So I ran a new line to my room so I could have wired internet and it's been giving me some issues I can't seem to sort out.

My router and modem are in another room. I ran 100ft of cable through my attic and into my room, across three cables. Router to wall, wall through attic, wall in my room to my computer.

I'm fairly confident that my wiring is correct, although I guess it's possible that it's wrong. I can't say for sure.

I've tried connecting to my Netbook running Windows XP Home and my Desktop running Windows 7 Ultimate (Build 7229).

I haven't gotten it to connect on my desktop yet, but I've managed to get it working my netbook a few times. I can't isolate why it works and why it doesn't. Sometimes certain cables work, sometimes they don't.

I know that both of the computers HAVE functioning ethernet ports though, as I used them both very recently to get updates and drivers.

Where can I start troubleshooting?

I have reinstalled the driver for the wifi cards and even flushed the BIOS as advised by the ASUS support team to no avail.

I have been told to use this site to check my network performance and it yields pretty bad results of which i have no idea how to fix them.

Any further advice and help is much appreciated. I would like to know if it is my computer's problem or the ISP's .

I recently purchased a used computer (Power Spec) , that had been updated to 10. At first , it ran, ok.. I have had it since whenever the super bowl weekend was, and it's had one more update since then. WiFi connection is very unstable, stays connected to Skype for the most part, but after a while it starts freezing and pages won't load while using chrome browser. All other devices work fine.I downloaded Kapersky tonight, only to uninstall an hour later. Found out it's problematic, and was not recommended. Prior to uninstall, I was unable to log back in to computer. I got as far as splash screen, and I wasn't able to enter pin. My last issue is, the previous owners user account: would like to delete it. I can post any reports or specs later today, if that helps.

I have been having loads of issues with my home broadband. I am using wireless to connect up other PC's in the house etc.

The connection on the main PC and my brothers seems to be completely fine, unless someone sends an email which will basically crash the internet.

However my connection is a complete joke. I think I know why. Every now and then it says IP Address conflict, but I have checked on the ipconfig /all and theya re both different IP addresses. Thats probably not what I should be looking for and should go back to game design.

My connection disconnects every 15 seconds or so and I can even be sitting waiting for google for up to 5 minutes. When i reach google I can even search.

Its not an ISP issue as I have messaged them and they have checked my line and 0 faults. I should be on 6-8Mbps.

here are some details that I think you should know;

I connect via: Netgear WNA1100 dongle.

Im having a lot of wifi issues with my new PC. The rest of it works perfectly, but the wifi connection is giving me nightmares. It always appears as connected, but it is totally unstable, making it impossible to use it. The strange part is that those problems are totally random and, at a point, selective. Chrome may be loading Google and Facebook no problem, but Twitter gets stuck. At the same time Im using Jdownloader at 3Mb/s speed and League of Legends cant connect to the server.
Ive tried everything I could find: changing drivers, configuration, registry keys and even a full reinstallation of Windows 10. Something to notice is that right after the reinstallation it worked perfectly, and it was getting worse every hour until it was completelly impossible to use it. Right now it only loads a webpage every 30 minutes.
Im using Windows 10 and these are my PC components:

CPU: AMD FX 8350 X8 Black Edition 8 x 4,0 GHz (4,2 Turbo mode)
MB: Gigabyte 970A-DS3P
GC: Gigabyte Nvidia GeForce GTX960 OC 4Gb
RAM: Kingston HyperX 8Gb DDR3/1600 (2x4 Gb)
HDD: WD Caviar Blue 1.000Gb, 7200RPM Sata-3 (6Gb/s)
PSU: Tacens Radix VII AG 600W
SSD: SSD Samsung 850 Evo 250Gb

Please help me, its horrible to have a new PC and not being able to use it.

Hey folks!

So my issue has been going on for a while now a while after I replaced the router from a DIR-535(If I recall) to a DIR-635. Now the problem resides in my computer however as it would seem that I randomly tend to loose internet acces and it only applies to my computer in the form of obviously loss of internet and the horrid warning triangel in the corner. I've tried removing and restarting the connection without any succes, I also tried to do a ipconfig /release /flushdns and /renew but it didnt seem to do anything either, basically been throwing attempts at a wall to see what works.

As far as the actual card goes it's a Atheros AR9285 Wireless Network Adapter.

Answer:Laptop Wireless connection unstable

Make sure you have the latest wireless driver (from your PC manufacturer's web site if that is an integrated adapter).

For when you have a good connection and for when the problem occurs ...

Please attach a screen shot of the Networks page of the Xirrus Wi-Fi Inspector and show ...

Start, Run, CMD, OK to open a command prompt:
(For Vista or 7 type CMD in the Search box after Start)

Type the following command:

[Note that there is no space between the slash and ALL.]

Right click in the command window and choose Select All, then hit Enter.
Paste the results in a message here.

If necessary use a text file and removable media to copy the results to a computer with internet access.

Ok so, this is the weirdest internet issue I have ever experienced. What is happening is around 9 am every day my internet slowly gets worse and worse, around 1 pm it gets super unstable, with ping to most all my sever testers ranging from 28-400 and spikes of over 14k. Then at 5 pm through until midnight it goes to a constant changing 110-630 and will get a no response timed out error every 6-10 seconds. After midnight it climbs that list backwards until around 1 am its at constant 20-28 ping until the cycle starts again.

The problem is I can not figure out what is causing this issue. I used a ping plotter to see if it was the way my isp was routing me, but that wouldn't explain why is changes so often would it? I am connected to my router with an ethernet cord and my router is a Vizio XWR100. I am not the only one on the internet however all my aunt does is use facebook and couldn't possibly be causing this if she is not home half the time. If you want to see ping results or anything else just ask I will be happy to give any information that can help solve my issue thank you a ton in advance!

Some information-
OS is Windows 7 64bit
Modem Westell 6100
Router Vizio XWR100
My connection is -supposed- to be 100 Mbps.
I have Ipv6 and 4 enabled
I have tried restarting, flushing, and getting a new router/modem.

Can anybody tell me what on earth is going on here? I've got a VMWare guest (Linux Mint 17.2 KDE, 64 bit, running on VMWare Workstation 11) with Samba shares. Access from the Host as well as other devices in the LAN always worked flawlessly. But all of a sudden it has stopped working. The connection from the host to the guest is unstable at best but mostly not possible at all. I cannot even ping the guest. But what's strange is the fact that I can access the shares from my phone and I can also ping the guest from my phone. But it's also not possible to ping the host from the guest, even if I disable the hosts firewall. What can possibly be the reason for this?

Hi everyone!

I just want to start by saying thanks for taking a look at this thread; any help you can offer would be great and greatly appreciated!!

I have Vista Home edition x64 on a Dell Laptop, and since the Windows updates of 2/11 & 2/12 my network connection has been unstable; before the updates I had no issues connecting to the network. When I first start up the laptop it will see that there are networks I can connect to, and will even connect to the chosen network for about 5 mins before disconnecting. When I refresh the network list, the list often changes and the network I was originally connected to and other networks that originally showed will disappear or show that the connection is weaker; subsequent times of refreshing the list will give the same results (sometimes it shows available connections; sometimes it shows no connections available; sometimes it shows very weak connections available; on a rare occasion it says that my connection is not compatible to the network I want to connect to). If my network still shows after refreshing the list and I try to connect, it says that it isn't able to connect. All of this has occurred with various attempts to connect to various networks. I can connect to the networks with a wire.

Here are the things I have tried to do to repair this issue and the results:
When I checked to make sure the network adapter itself was working, it says the device was working fine.I verified that there is no interference between the ... Read more

HELP!!! I'm running a Windows XP system that has been working totally fine for the past four months. I recently upgraded to vista, hated it and went back to XP. Now, My internet constantly fades in and out every few seconds, making my browsing speed that of dial up despite having a 1Gps connection (I'm in Korea) and making any form of download corrupted and streaming video unwatchable. I have up do date drivers on my network adapter and don't use a router, rather I plug directly to my modem with an ethernet cable. I've tried rolling back the drivers, which didn't work. The bad thing is, almost all help forums I've seen for folks with similar problems reders to WIFI or router problems, which I don't use because there is no reason for me to, as I'm the only computer on my network. The worst part is, I'm in Korea, which means that if it's something my ISP needs to change, there will be extreme difficulty getting them out here due to the language barrier when it comes to technical things (I can find out where the pool is or how many dogs someone owns, but not descipe complex technically problems in Korean.) I'm certain it's a problem on my end, since it all started when I downgraded back to XP. Does anyone know what I can do?

Hey guys,

recently I've been experiencing some very weird internet connection issues.

my internet connection has become very unstable at times, it can be as slow as in the low 100kbps sometimes, or sometimes it can be as fast as 1mbps.

My internet service provider is Verizon and I have DSL on my computer.

I uses a Westell Modem with a Linksys wireless B Broadband router.

Do anyone know what is causing this problem?

I did notice that my internet connection speed seems to speed up after midnight.

Hi all We have begun to deploy the M57 (6075-A5G) in our network.I have noticed that in some locations of our buildning, the network connection is unstable. When viewing the "Network connections" in Windows XP I can see it disconnects every 5-10 sec only for a short moment. The network adapter is configured to "Auto" speed. We have a 100Mb network. The old type (8189-4DG) that we are replacing does not have this problem when connected to the same port/switch. If I put a simple hub between the M57 and the network-connection in the wall the problem disappears! I have updated network drivers using "ThinkVantage---System Update". Has anybody seen this before??

the last 5-6 days the network connection sometimes doesn't connecting to Internet.
usually appears after power the pc on. and happened while been connected.

sometimes it helps just pull out the cable then plug it in, other is, turn off and on the router, or deactivate and activate the network card.

also tried update driver, but that seemed to mess it more up so i went to device-manager and unistalled the driver, install it again from the cd to the mobo.

the other pc in the house is a laptop using the wireless with no problems.

Answer:Unstable local network connection

Do you have the latest driver from Realtek TW. Also note sometimes these adapters go DUFF! Are the lights on the back of the card lite or flashing?

Go into safe mode and remove the driver. Even shutdown the system and pull out the card. If it's onboard NIC, then disable it and get a PCI or PCI-E if you have the shorter PCI-E slot. They can go bad. Since you have ruled out your router isn't the issue and you can use yoru wireless laptop. Then the NIC is the issue.

I have configured it and it worked nicely until recently. I have my own small movie archive there. For some reason it show me often server not recognized, and now it keep showing me that remote access is disabled and i can't reach it via cloud logging. The main focus was backup and Plex. Now plex is loading only 20% of my archive while 80% is not shown in my library. P.S. i bought life license for Plex that was because i wanted to make sure i have no restrictions. Now why the heck i can't load entire archive? What do i miss? Why it's working so unstable? Should i buy better router? Btw i am using cable internet with two routers. One is cable the main router and the second is TP link which i have configured for NAS.

Hello everyone.

I am an IT guy and long time Internet user. Recently bought 3 laptops for the household (1 HP Envy TouchSmart m7 Sleekbook, and 2 Gateway NV570P10u Touchscreen Laptops)

Laptops came with Windows 8, I immediately upgraded to Windows 8.1 so I cannot say if things were working when I had Windows 8

I have all these laptops connected to the Internet via DLink-Dir655 Router. Additional devices connected to the router/internet are a wireless printer, server running Windows Server 2008, laptop running Windows XP Professional, and a laptop running Windows 7 64-Bit Home Premium (along with couple cell phones running Android). All other devices have absolutely no connectivity issues ... Only the 3 laptops running Windows 8.1 keep giving us headache to a point we can hardly connect to the Internet using these (Winows 8.1) laptops

Interestingly, when I connect laptops via Ethernet cable connection is "little more stable" but I still get disconnects ("page cannot be displayed" errors) which leads me to the conclusion that it is not Wireless card always but Router or its settings are also playing a role.
We can focus on HP laptop to address this issue. It has Intel Centrino N-2230 as its built-in wireless card. Was having lots of disconnects or pages partially displayed but when I attached an old MediaLink Dongle (USB WiFi Card), internet connection became lot more stable. It is atleast 10x more stable compared to built-in wireless card but I still ... Read more

Answer:Internet connection unstable/keeps dropping

Update the router's firmware to latest.

Then, you will be best off setting the DNS server in WAN settings of the router to any OpenDNS address (usually faster/more reliable than ISP.)

Here is an example of how mine is set:

Alternatively and even better than that, use the tool in my attachment to find the quickest DNS server for you and use that in your router's settings.

If any of your machines have Atheros wireless and/or wired adapters, update the driver(s) from here: ATHEROS drivers for Microsoft Windows (Atheros?????)

Use Vistumbler to find the most open radio channel in your area and set the router to use that channel.

If you are using some kind of 3rd party security application such as a firewall, that may be a culprit in all of this. I would uninstall completely (not just disable) to test, if necessary.

Scan the machines for malware with Malwarebytes.

Some reason, my computer suddenly got really slow. It was never like this before, and I never downloaded anything new. My internet takes forever to load, and a lot of my programs start to lag, and then crash. One time I was switching between window's and I crashed, I had to restart my computer.
Also, occasionally, I get random disconnections for 1-2secs, and then it reconnects itself again. So for example I'm playing Warcraft 3, I'm hosting, and suddenly the game would server split and everyone keeps on complaining about lag from the host(Me).

So my question is, how should I fix this to make my computer go faster, or make my connection more stable? Is it a virus, spy-ware, or some other malware?
Thank you very much.

Hi I wonder if anyone can help.Until last night I had a no-fuss sable secure wireless connection between my PC and my iPAQ 2790 via my Linksys WAG54GS. However, I attempted to add my laptop to the network via a Linksys PC card wireless adapter. I changed no settings on my PDA or router (except to simply add the MAC address of the PC card to the permit-only tab on the router?s set-up page). I configured the card but was unable to access the internet and promptly gave up for the evening. When I tried to wirelessly access the internet via my iPAQ ? nothing ? it is was unable to connect. I repeatedly checked the settings but I could not find anything changed. As a last attempt I deleted my network from my PDA and re-set it up as I have done before (e.g. after a ROM update). I find that:The iPAQ keeps trying to connect itself but cannot. There have been several very brief successful connections but then it becomes disconnected again. It?s unavailable or available but cannot connect or connected and then disconnects! All updates are up-to-dateThe only thing I can think to do now it to factory reset the router and set-up the PDA connection from scratch ? unless anyone has any ideas what has gone wrong.I have performed a soft reset ? twice and rebooted both PC and routerThe little monkey is showing connected again! And now its not! Also it seemed that when I had the laptop PC card adapter ?connected? my web browsing on my PC became extremely slow. Answer:Unstable wireless PDA connection after configuring

When you say you've changed nothing other than enter your mac address, do I assume you are using some form of mac filter? If so, have you managed to filter out the mac address for the PDA and deny access?I would revert your network to no security, and remove all filtering rules: then it should be a simple case of adding the network settings into each device as you add them.Only then build up security. You shouldn't need to enter mac addresses manually for basic connectivity. Set the router up to assign ip addresses automatically and only then try to change things. It could be the PC adapter failing, but this should not affect other devices. As for slower speeds - the more devices you add, the slower the speed for all on the network, because the internet connection is shared between the devices connected.

Answer:Internet connection unstable on and off---Virus?

Hi dashelter,
First, will you please post back and advise me whether you are connecting to the Internet via WiFi, Lan Cable or Other Method?
We'll take a quick look at your P.C.
Let's start relatively simply.....
Download a copy of a program called RKill (Courtesy of Grinler at Bleeping Computer) which is available at the links below:
(This program attempts to stop any running malware processes so other tools may function efficiently, plus a few other things.)
Save it to your Desktop so you can easily locate it.
(If one won't run, download the other. Malware sometimes recognises RKill.exe and tries to interfere with it.)
RKill.exe                              <<== Try this first.
RKill as iExplore.exe         <<== Try this one if option one doesn't work.
Right Click RKill and Select "Run As Administrator."
Soon after a Black Box will appear while RKill Runs. (This is normal. RKill may appear to hang. It's just working.)
When RKill has finished it will Open a Report in Notepad.
RKill will also save a copy of its log to your Desktop called "RKill.log"
After RKill has run successfully Don't Restart your computer until the other tool(s) have run.

Here's my situation. I didn't start having issues until last night and I haven't changed any settings to make it happen. I started downloading a few torrents and then my AIM kept disconnecting and my general connection seemed unstable. I had many pings open, one to my router, one to my isp's gateway, and one to google and all were going just perfectly. This morning, I thought to close bitcomet and the problem immediately went away. I've never had this problem before, but I noticed that I was having so so so many connections open (netstat runs for a minute or so). I then remembered the windows xp sp2 tcp connection maximum so i fixed that and rebooted. Same situation. It's a little better if I only let it download one torrent at a time instead of say 2,3,4,5, or 6, but it still is a problem, and never was before. I've been using bitcomet for a long time now and have downloaded many torrents at once before too. I'm behind a router and not dmz, although I use port forwarding to get the necessary ports over. Any idea what's going on? I have tcp max set to 50 right now from the standard 10.

Answer:bitcomet causing unstable connection

The number of connections that bittorrent makes easily overwhelms a lot of consumer routers, so that could be the problem. Try setting lower max connections and global connections for the torrent client and see if that helps.

I have a compal laptop I bought from xoticpc. The computer has run fine for a long time. I then had to reinstall windows. I used a recovery disc from my brothers computer to reinstall it. I have Windows 7 Home Premium x64.

The problem is that my connection is horrible. It has NEVER been this bad before. I have noticed that this is a Dell issue, as I didn't have this problem before. I had a clean install of Windows 7 on this computer originally (ie, no bloatware). Now however, since I have installed Windows using a Dell recovery disc that includes software they added on, I am having a lot of issues with it. I've also read that a huge amount of people are having issues with Dell's connecting to the internet. This leaves me to believe that it has a be something that Dell added that is causing the problem.

It normally takes about 15-20 refreshes of a page before it will load. I don't know what is causing this interruption, but it's almost unbearable.

Original Computer had no internet issues
reinstalled windows 7 home premium x64 with dell recovery disc
now have connection issues

This has taken me a very long time to get to this page and submit, I would welcome any help. I can even download TeamViewer so you can personally look into my computer to fix it (I literally just reinstalled windows 7, no personal info other than a few games).

Thank you,

Answer:Highly unstable internet connection

The Dell Recovery disc is for a particular model Dell PC. It is not meant to be used on another type of computer, and the fact that it even resulted in something to which you can boot is a random event. We cannot support this. See if you can purchase a set of Recovery DVDs from your laptop manufacturer.

And please review our rules to which you just agreed. One of the first ones says "Keep Support in the Forum." That rules out TeamViewer type help.

I just bought a new laptop a Lenovo ideapad y500 running windows 8 64bit with a intel centrino wireless adapter and im currently experiencing internet flucuations at random intervals.

My internet speed is rated for 50mbs and when im lucky on wifi ill get up to 20mbs. I could generally live with considering wifi is not exactly ideal but the download speeds will often drop to .5-2mbs and at times go to 0 resetting the connection will sometimes bump it back up for a short while but it will again eventually drop down to minimal speeds.

to save time ill state the troubleshooting methods ive already attempted
uninstalled/reinstalled wifi drivers
updated wifi driver
flushed dns cache via cmd.exe
updated other drivers aswell as performed windows updates
uninstalled and replaced mcafee antivirus with avg
ran ccleaner to uninstall bloatware along with fixing registry errors
accessed my router and changed my wireless settings and security settings

my ping has begun to fluctuate aswell normally being around 8-12ms now jumping from 32-120

id also like to clarify that i bought and returned an asus g75 windows 8 laptop a few days ago encountering the same issue i at first thought it was the wireless adapter but now encountering this issue im beginning to question my router which is an actiontec v1000h

Sorry, theres possibly a topic for this but Im losing my internet browsers at every 5 minutes. So by the time I search in the forum and find something, my internet is gone...

So here?s my problem:

Im running Win7 32. Since few months now, I lose my browsers. My internet connection is ok but I cant open any browers or online games. Most of the time, I lose it every 10 minutes or so, then it comes back. The problem is intermittent, it comes and goes. I was able to browse normally with any disconnections mostly all summer but last week it came back and now its worse than ever. I have run every possible anti malaware/virus. Tried every fix I could find on online forums (reset dns, ip config, etc?). Nothing worked.

When I reboot my pc, it takes between 2 to 4 hours before I can get an internet connection and when I get it, its unstable.

A Win7 reinstall is out of the picture. I really need help?

My Surface 2 has this issue where it is connected to the wireless network at first and then it gets limited connection followed by no connection until it re- connects. Sometimes it happens a lot, other times a bit more rarely but overall I feel it has been getting worse lately.

I have tried turning off the router as well as removing that specific connection from the Surface through command prompt and re-connect, but neither has helped.

I have tried trouble shooting the network to no avail, and according to device manager my network drivers are up to date so I don't know what's going on.

Is this a common issue and how might I fix it= I'm a bit clueless I'm afraid and I hope something isn't broken...

Answer:Surface 2: Unstable Wifi Connection

What is the manufacturer & model of your router? What channel is your Wifi on in the Wireless settings for the router, if you are not using a separate WiFi Access Point. Also you can go to and see if this older version of inSSIDer will run on your Surface 2.

This way you can find out which channels are more congested around your residence, so you can find a less congested one to manually set your Wifi on the router to.

I use Channel 1 & 5 on my Engenius ECB350 A/P for Wireless-n, which are the two less congested channels around my home. With this unit, I get around -23db for strength. Of course it is a more powerful A/P then what you will find on consumer grade A/P's & routers.

You want at least -60 or lower for signal strength for wireless signal. Also placement of the wireless A/P can make or break how good of a signal quality you have.

Over the past week my wireless connection varies with every restart. Sometimes I start up with no problems to my connection while other times I must constantly restart until I get lucky enough to get an internet connection. What also happens when my internet doesn't start is that my taskbar becomes grey in color, as if was changed to look like Classic mode from themes. When I look at Services.msc I notice most of them to have the -k netsvcs at the end of the executable path of most of the services.
Thank you

The dialing properties in Outlook Express has a default of disconnecting after 20 minutes if the connection is idle. I have this unchecked but since installing new connection software from BT Yahoo this setting has become unstable. Sometimes the unchecked box holds at the next connection but, more often than not, it trips back to the default 20 minute disconnect which I find a nuisance. I have even tried to accept this disconnect option but with a longer time interval but this does not hold either. Are there any other settings that have been changed without my knowledge when the new connection software was installed and which may be causing this to happen?

Hello, I have recently built my own computer(Windows 10), all the hardware are running well. The only problem I have is that my internet connection keeps dropping every minute or so. Looking at the Task Manager, the WiFi performance has many peaks and valleys. I'm using a USB Wireless Adapter (TPLink TL-WN727N) that works fine for my old computer(Windows 7). Everything is fine on the old computer, it's stable and fast. I have tried updating drivers for the adpater, uninstalling and reinstalling to no avail. What can I do to maintain a stable connection?

Driver update says the drivers in place are the right ones. I've also tried Bluetooth dongles to connect with, but I get the same problem -- connects for a while and then disconnects.

I have a Thinkpad X1 Yoga (20FQ) with an Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 8260 network adapter.  Windows 10 64-bit. Ever since updating the Intel Wireless LAN Driver to version 19.71.1, I have had an intermittent, but frequent, slow wireless internet connection.  Rolling the driver back to version seems to have solved the issue so far.  Has anyone else had that same issue?

Hi all, yesterday I purchased a HP p6-2417a and have experienced some very odd problems concerning the wifi connection.
Occasionally the speeds will slow right down to a snails pace, or entirely disconnect making downloading or streaming anything near impossible. However, the odd thing is, if I leave the PC idle and locked until the display turns off, the speed goes up to a normal, consistent and stable 2MB/s, whereas if I'm using the PC it wont even go over 100kB/s, that is if I can establish the download in the first place.
So far I have tried updating my wifi adapter drivers and changing several network settings, none of which have worked. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
