Yoga 2 Pro cracked screen..Digitizer replacement.

Question: Yoga 2 Pro cracked screen..Digitizer replacement.

I opened my Y2Pro only to find my screen cracked on the left hand side. Other than no touch screen it works fine. From what I understand it's only the digitizer that is cracked. I found a replacement Lenovo digitizer but can't find instructions on how to fix it. Laptop repair 365 has a video on replacing the whole screen. I'm now seeing posts saying the digitizer can't be separated from the lcd...Any help would be appreciated.

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hello, My Yoga 2 Pro screen cracked and i have no insurrance. Where do i get the screen with replacement? What model of screen do I get? I don't want to go through lenovo because they estimated about $500+ for fixing it. My laptop costs $600 to purchase only. I found some screen with model LTN133YL01-L01 and LTN133YL02-L01, but they're listed for the Yoga 13 . Yoga 13 doesn't have the same screen layout and even the windows button is a physical button rather than a touchscreen.  Thanks for your help.

I'm usually a pretty careful person but in my one rare clumsy moment, I managed to drop my Yoga 900 on the floor from maybe a height of less than a metre.  The screen is cracked starting from the top right hand corner and has a hairline fracture all the way to the bottom left corner. It still works, as in I can still see things on the screen, but I keep getting jumpy cursors and whatnot (expected of a cracked touch-enabled screen). So my question is: What am I suppose to do? I've called Lenovo Support and I've chatted with an Encompass technician, and although they were very nice, it didn't help because there doesn't seem to be a replacement screen available for purchase/repairs. I've only had this laptop for 5 months and it seems ludicrous to buy a new one already...... Edit: This is for the Yoga 900-13ISK.

Answer:Yoga 900-13ISK cracked screen replacement

Hi all, so I bought an 1st Gen X1 Yoga (20FR) earlier in the year, and due to an unfortunate accident the screen is now cracked and the touchscreen no longer works. I'm quite upset about it, but a repair from Lenovo would be 580 which is far too much. I'm happy to buy a display separetely and install it myself, my I'm unclear about screen compatibility. My screen is a 14? WQHD (2560 x 1440) LCD. My question is, can I buy a 1920x1080 screen (since they're cheaper and easier to find), and replace the current one with it? Or does it need to be the exact same screen? The part quoted by Lenovo is 00UR192, but would this one work for instance? Many thanks, any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Welcome to the CommunityFRU 00UR192 is a kit of several parts, LCD including - LGD p/n LP140QH1 (SP)(E1), Lenovo FRU 00??876. So, you might purchase separate LCD only if it's the only broken part. I don't know anything about compatibility of FRU 00??875 on the page you've linked.BTW, there are 4 compatible spare parts, substitions of 00UR192. One of them has the same LCD as above.

My duaghter cracked the digitizer glass on her laptop, but it still works fine after disabling the touchscreen. I know I can buy another digitizer glass and replace it, but if the lcd itself is still functional can you just remove the cracked glass and use it as a non-touchscreen laptop?

My Yoga 2 Pro took a bit of a hit in the upper right corner while traveling recently and several cracks have radiated across the screen. The laptop still works great, and I didn't have any pixel-fallout ... just the cracks.I would prefer to try and repair it myself if that is even possible (ie. replace glass component) ... or look into what options there may be for replacement etc.Any guidance or suggestions would be much appreciated.

Hi guys, So I took my laptop out of my bag about a week ago and found this:http://imgur.com/HIRHJ(I took the photo today, I've been too busy to deal with the issue for the past week but I've played around with it now.) As you can see on the screen, there is a large crack across the top right (which I have no clue where it came from, considering I had nothing in my bag but the laptop and my bag was never impacted in any way). Most importantly, however, no image is displayed, which renders my laptop unusable as a laptop (and I desperately need it for uni, fortunately this past week was a break but now I am without a laptop to take notes in...) Plugging in the laptop to an external monitor works fine as expected, however, so does the digitizer pen. i.e. if I wave my pen above the broken screen, it appears to work perfectly on the duplicated external monitor, clicking and all. So, my guess is that all I need to do is replace the screen, right? According to the manual, http://download.lenovo.com/ibmdl/pub/pc/pccbbs/mobiles_pdf/0a60175_04.pdf (where mine is 4294-CTO), the LCD panel I want is 04W1545. I've found one for $175 which is great, but when I asked if the place could also replace the screen for me, they said it would no longer be a tablet. They said they "think I might need to get the full screen + digitizer for $650 + installation" which is utterly ridiculous, considering that's nearly the price I paid for the laptop. What I wa... Answer:Screen replacement - digitizer support

replacing the Tablet LCD is a very expensive exercise, since there is also a digitizer layer involved. Try calling Lenovo warranty service, and ask about aftermarket parts sale, and specifically request the parts . But it won't be cheap, around the price that you have been quoted for the full repair. If you are worried about cost, then you should probably sell your current laptop for parts or as it is. And then get another X220t.

Aftermarket parts for the X220t screen assembly isn't widely available, so this drives up the price of available parts. From the picture, you got the X220i Tablet, which is not sold in Australia.

I have a cracked screen on Yoga 2 13  and i am thinking to replace it. Since warranty is not working I contacted the service centre and they offered the replacment for the price of new laptop. So I said thanks either I will use as it is or find cheaper.  So please help me find the cheaper one which the most importantly fits to my one. I bought it in China (but not there anymore) and as I see the whole screen no. is 73048979. Also it issaid on paper  "13,3 FHD LED TS". I find part no. like B133HAT02.0   or LP133WF2 SP A1. But not the previous one. Can you help with finding the right one. It is frustrating a bit since I am not tech man. I am thinking sending back from here: http://www.365laptoprepair.com/Product/Lenovo-Yoga-2-13-Screen-Only or from ebay where I can find cheaper Chinese one. Is the screen from the link fitting my model? anyone knows?

Hi, I have had my Lenovo ThinkCentre flex 20 for about 3 months and unfortunately I dropped it recently and cracked the screen.  It has been miserable in that the computer is no longer functional.  I believe all I need is the digitizer replaced, the glass and sensor assembly that resides in front of the LCD panel, but I have not been able to find this part anywhere.  Apperently it is made from "unobtainium".  I really don't want to ship it all the way back to China for $100, just so they can then tell me how much it is going to cost.  Has anyone else run into this predicament?  Man, I just can't believe Lenovo doesn't even offer this replacement part.  Seems like it would happen from time-to-time and what kind of customer service would you call it when you can't replace a major component without a major hassle!?

Did the earlier models of the thinkpad yogas sold on lenovo.com all come with the wacom digitizers? I've read that all models of the thinkpad yoga sold on lenovo.com came with the wacom digitizer. I ordered a thinkpad yoga off lenovo.com with the 1366x768 screen on Feb 23 and I haven't received it yet. I could've swore that when I chose the screen resolution their was none that specified it came with the pen and wacom digitizer, but now I'm second guessing myself. Now I see that it only comes with the 1920x1080 FHD screen and it that option specifies it has the pen and wacom digitizer. So I'm just wondering if the earlier models from lenovo.com came with the wacom digitizer and they just recently switched it to only available on the 1920x1080. The part # for my computer is listed as 20CDCT01WW.

Hello Summary:I bought a 20CD0001IV about two months ago (Demopool). I need it for work and drawing, but so far I have numerous issues. And right now I'm kinda lost: What should I do? Send a support question to lenovo/IBM EC? Contact my retailer? Are these common problems? I'm also not sure about my warranty. The Lenovo Solution Center says, I still have warranty. The different parts of the website say different things. I'll assume worst case: My warranty is likely expired. I tried:Fresh Installation Windows 8.1, newest drivers, newest Wacom drivers. Tried different settings. Calibration, Pressure Curves, all the stuff. Have 3 different Pens. Searched google, searches this forum... Problems:Massive Ghosting, I know, there is a solution on the forum. It says to replace the old screen with a newer model, but is this possible if the warranty is expired?Calibration is a mess! The digitizer point wobbles under the pen, this is most obvious near the screen border, where straight lines turn into curves. But it's also an issue in the middle of the screen. In some places the cursor is 2mm top left of the actual pen tip, in other places it's bottom right UNDER the pen. I tried all kinds of calibration already... I know about a "dead spot" issue, but this was fixed with a firmware update and my issue is all over the place, not just one spot. The screen is not very solid. Even medium pressure with the pen leads to dark and light display glitches near the tip. Pen press... Read more

Answer:TP Yoga numerous issues with screen and digitizer

I did some more testing with the maximum pressure issue. And it might be related to the pressure level of pens. As far as I know the Yoga supports 1024 levels. I have a new Wacom PL-900 and it has only 512, and the pressure problem is strongest. It is the same with the original Yoga pen, I'd say - even though this should have 1024 levels? But with an old Samsung Series 7 pen I need to press harder to reach 100% pressure - although it is still not really "hard". I'm not entirely sure how many pressure levels the Samsung Slate pen has, thought it was 510, but have seen some reviews mentioning 1024...Anyway, I posted this issue in the wacom forums.

Hello all, apologies if this is a duplicate issue, but my searches did not turn anything up. I just received my new TPY a couple of days ago and have been happily installing software. Today was the first time I really tried using my digitizer pen, as I finally had time to open Photoshop and Illustrator. In doing so, however, I discovered pen calibration is completely messed up for the top edge of the screen. I tested it outside of the Adobe programs and the same problems occur there. I have already gone in and tried recalibrating my pen more than once using the calibration tools in the Control Panel. Is this a known issue that I just need a driver update for or is this a hardware issue? Any help is appreciated. Thanks,Erika

It is an Acer AspireOne (ZG5).

Local computer repair store said they could probably source it for $100, but they won't know for sure until they can actually find it. No idea what their replacement charge (labor+expertise) would cost on top of the part...

Does anyone have any idea where I could find one of these myself?

I've already tried both NewEgg and TigerDirect, but no luck:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...e&bop=And&ActiveSearchResult=True&Order=PRICE
http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/Overstock/overstock_slc.asp?CatID=2814&category=Netbook
http://www.tigerdirect.com/applicat...rds=netbook screen&sort=Price&dir=asc&recs=10
As you can see with ordered-by-price-low-to-high browsing, they jump straight from accessories (like protective cases, oh the irony...) to brand new units.

Using the following Google searches:

netbook screen replacement
acer netbook screen replacement
I was able to find the following two sites:

http://www.laptoppartsexpert.com/i-361578-netbook-lcd-display-8-9-wsvga-tft.html (this could actually work)
http://www.prlog.org/10347933-aspire-one-screen-replacement-express-service.html (located in London, so no dice)
I was just wondering if the gurus here at Major Geeks had any further/other suggestions.

Thanks in advance.

Answer:cracked netbook screen -- sources for replacement?

ebay. especially for a netbook, which only costs $350 to replace with a new one. so hopefully you can find a used one on ebay. Look for broken ones that have a good lcd screen. They will be cheaper.

found this after having a quick look

not sure if it's the right size. I didn't find any listings for broken netbooks tho.

Hi everyone. I have an HP laptop, Product name: HP ENVY x360 m6 Convertible, Product number: M1V60UAR#ABA.

The Problem
I cracked the screen in the top right. There is a web up there now, just outside the actual workspace, in the half inch or so black border. A few cracks extend out into the screen, one loops off to the right and the other goes all the way down the center. The screen still works great and aside from the cosmetic crack, nothing else seems to be wrong. The crack is very thin and looking straight at the screen it is almost invisible. It is much more pronounced when you view the screen from an angle.

The touchscreen started acting up a little, but I am not the biggest fan of a touchscreen on a laptop so I disabled it, and I am really quite fine with it.

The problem is the cosmetic crack. I know I can use it for as long as it lasts and does not spread too much, since the screen works great. However, over time this will deteriorate, spread and eventually become a problem.

Solutions
The laptop was refurbished so no warranty. I am also told that accidental damage is not covered in a warranty so I am not sure what good that would have done any way. I did take it to two computer repair shops and I was told that this model is fairly new, and they do not have access to replacement screens. They said they would get in touch with me if they found anything.

I also tried the website ScreenTek, which sells replacement screens. However, they do not have the m6 series lis... Read more

Hi.
Laptop screen is badly cracked, needs replacement.
Original laptop is a Compaq Presario CQ61 with a 1 CCFl screen (n156b3-l02 rev.c2). This is with a 30 pin connection and the pink/white backlight cable.
I already have an LED Screen from a dead laptop (LP156WH4 (TL) (N2)). This is with a 40 pin connection and no other external cables.

As it stands right now I have the cable going from inside the laptop proper, splitting in 2, one fork going into the left side of the inverter and the other turning into a flat cable and going into the screen as a 30pin connection. There is also the pink/white backlight cable going into the right side of the inverter.

I'm wondering there is any way to use the LED screen using a 30pin to 40pin converter or possibly to purchase a 40 pin cable outright and ignoring the inverter competely or something along those lines. I simply haven't been able to figure out to what level the laptop is built around using that specific screen.

Thanks in advance.

Question: Cracked Digitizer

Hi everyone,

It seems i've cracked the digitizer on my laptop and now the touch function doesn't work properly. While the display still works fine there's a giant crack across the screen and it's really annoying. I had to disable the touch via Hardware Manager because it was really going haywire.

I keep trying to call the support number, 1.866.724.8600, (removed content) but the machine keeps telling me that it " can't connect me to anybody."

I ordered a Yoga 2 Pro direct from LENOVO very late December - delivered around January 1st.I didn't have the time to unpack and examine for about a week. I unpacked and first turn on the computer around January 7...and over the next few days spent just a brief amount of time setting it up, updating, etc. My time playing with the computer was brief...just 30-45 minutes every other day or so..nothing more than a general look and feel. I was impressed with the look and feel...the build quality and performance. Over the weekend things changed for the worse....I was working with the unit in my living room in the morning....closed the lid...placed in on the coffee table. Later in the afternoon - some 4-5 hours later....I sat down, picked up the Yoga 2 Pro, and in short order noticed a crack extending from top left - just at the end of the LENOVO name - down to the middle of the bottom. The Yoga 2 was treated with white glove delicacy the entire time since it left it's box. I currently have numerous laptops (including 2 LENOVO) and tablets...from APPLE, ACER, LENOVO, AMAZON, etc.I have never experienced anything like it. The ONLY ideas I can come up with fall into two categories: 1 - the design is inherently flawed.      There is noticeable flex in the unit - both the keyboard and screen - yes - it is minimal (I never twisted or stressed it in anyway beyond gentle normal operation.  Perhaps the glass can't handle... Answer:Yoga 2 Pro Cracked Screen and more....

Hi, I too have had the same problem. I had received my Lenovo Yoga 2 "Pro" today and when I first put it on my lap and opened it, I heard a crack. Oh what a traumatising sound it was. I investigated further and found that I had the same crack as yours. From the Lenovo sign all the way to the middle... I'm pretty sure the Yoga 2 "Pro" isn't so much of a Pro after all. The build quality is something out of a $500 laptop. The ridiculously thin glass and the bendy plastic isn't ideal at all, the Lenovo team clearly did not know how to design a laptop. I mean afterall, this is Lenovo "the king of laptops".  The reason why I am so offensive is because I had an unforgettable experience with my Surface 2 a couple of months ago. On the same day I received it the device crashed. I took it to a separate serviceman because Microsoft couldn't be bothered to have proper worldwide support. The Nvidia Tegra processor was faulty. You know, it always baffles me why Apple is considered the best. It's because it is, come to think of it. I have NEVER heard of a hardware issue out of ANY Apple device. The build quality on Apple devices is so professionally made, so professionally examined that it is completely out of Lenovo's league. No company can compete with Apple on build quality.  Apple are professional unlike Lenovo. Dan

I have had my Yoga Pro 3 for four days and the screen cracked.  I did not drop it or damage it, it just happened upon opening.  Customer Service is less than helpful and kept telling me it was my fault. They said they will send a technician out for $169 plus the cost of the screen which they could not give me a price on.  They wanted my credit card number up front.  If I can find a way to return it, I will.I think it is sad that they will not stand behind their product.  I paid over $1600 for this, and for it to crack in four days is unacceptable.I will not be purchasing Lenovo prodcuts in the future.  Unacceptable and uncaring customer service.  It is as if they simply read from a script.

Hi, This may be a very basic question but I have no clue about hardware matters, so I'm hoping someone here can help me - my Lenovo Y560 screen got broken with a huge crack across the screen. I need to get it replaced now but I don't know whether to go for an LED screen or an LCD screen. Some vendors have contacted me telling me I need a "paper LED" replacement, while others have said the replacement would be an "LCD screen". The prices they have quoted for LED and LCD replacement is Rs 3500 and Rs 5500 respectively.  Which screen should I go for? Please help! Thank you in advance.

Well, I dropped my Nokia Luma 1520 and it got a nice crack on the upper left corner with a couple hairline cracks going further down the phone. I would rather attempt to replace it myself than pay to send it in somewhere for repairs.
I've had this phone for only 1.5 weeks so I'm really not looking to pay $200 or so for repairs. The thing is, I don't know how to tell what screen parts need replacing, so if anyone could help I'd appreciate it. The screen is still working, have had no glitches of any kind on it yet, just the big ol' crack in the corner.
So my question is can I just get the glass replacement part?

Hello, Like many others, I experienced the problem with screen of Lenovo Yoga 2 13 - it cracked for no reason (if you want to know more about the problem - search this forum for "cracked screen", you'll see dozens of messages about the same thing, even the place of crack is almost the same - from left bottom to the upper center part of the screen). Since russian support (I'm from Moscow) is completely useless and even top managers just "sorry" about damage, not even trying to help, i decieded to buy replacement on the aliexpress. I found out that partnumber of the screen I need is "B133HAT02.0". But there are too many screens with different prices starting from $120 and ending $400. Could somebody please help me to choose the proper one? Thank you.

After about a month of usage, I suddenly found the screen cracked! The cracks initiated at the bottom bezel on the right side. As a result, the touch screen flipped out, so I had to disable it. How can I request a repairment ticket?Because I cannot submit an email form as I get a "CreateContact error" message after I clicked on the submit button, which became a grayed out enlarged rectangle (I even tried a different browser and different language).Chat isn't available because it's outside working hours in my country, but I cannot find anywhere what the working hours are!

I was using my laptop this morning like usual, closed it, then went to open it a minute later and the screen started to separate at the bottom left, cracking as I went to open it. I contacted support and they're sending me a box this week. Has anyone ever experienced this before and what was the remedy? I haven't dropped it at all and have no idea why it separated.

Hello,My laptop recently had a short fall, and unfortunately the digitizer cracked on it.Lenovo's wonderful customer service team was able to offer me a replacement part for only $300....$300 seems a bit overpriced to me. Digitizers for other devices aren't nearly as expensive, so I would imagine this laptop shouldn't be an exception.I guess my question is, where could I go to get the digitizer that I need? I have searched online for it on almost every site imaginable.

Answer:Ideapad Z400 digitizer cracked.

hi zdavenport93,

Welcome to the Forums.

If you have a Z400 Touch, the damage might have gone thru the digitizer into the LCD panel, thus the repair center needs to replace the following:

Part #: 18200152 - LCD PANEL - LGD LP140WH2-TLE2 HD G F LED1 NB LCD
Part #: 90202435 - VIWZ1 LCD BEZEL CAP TS

The parts above is most likely the reason why you're being charge $300 as they need to replace both the LCD panel and the bezel (digitizer). If you google the part number of the LCD bezel, it's primary sold in China and currently not for sale (most likely this is bundled with the LCD panel).

Yeah, I dropped my less-than-a-month-old Lumia 640XL on it's face, and now it has cracks all over it (touch still works - that's how I am typing here).
So, I asked at a Microsoft Center, and they told me that I'd have to shell out about Rs 6000 (90 USD) for it, and a local repair shop promises to get it done for Rs 4000 (60 USD).
What shall I do? Does a Microsoft store use better parts? The local repair shop I asked at was also pretty decent and systematic with Service Sheets and stuff like that.

Answer:Cracked Screen Replacement - Microsoft Center or Local Repair Shop?

Prices can sometimes vary quite a bit even from repair shop to repair shop. There's nothing magical about a more expensive repair. If the shop is reliable and has a good reputation, I'd go with the lower price.

So I now have a nasty cracky on the glass of my screen - top right and accross the middle.  The screen is still fully working, and touch screen also still works.  So what are my options... 1) Can I just replace the glass? If so, where do I find this product - No one sells it.2) Do I need to replace the entire screen (LCD and Digitizer) - Again no one sells it. Apparently it's a licensed product and no 3rd party suppliers have access to stock. Can anyone please help, and share any other options I have? Thank you so much in advance.

I love this computer. All things considered, I think it's currently the best of its kind on the market. So it really upset me that it broke after I'd had it for one week. Here's what happened:            The little corner of a smooth, thin, cotton pillow case...for the kind of pillow that goes on a bed...Just the corner...got closed up in the computer when I shut the lid, right down next to the hinge on the right side. It was a flat inch of fabric. I moved to pick up the laptop and just as I did, just as I moved it SLIGHTLY downward then away from where the bespoke pillow sat, I heard a tiny crunching sound. That tiny sound was of three cracks forming in the lower right corner and one long crack extending, diagonally, across the entire screen to the upper left corner. Really, that's all it took! A thin scrap of cotton fabric, and my incredible miracle of modern science is totally unusable! The touch screen now has pressure points all over the place causing it to flip out. I've read of lots of Yoga 2 owners finding inexplicable cracks in the same exact area; they mostly determined that the hinge was too tight putting too much strain on the glass. I think that's probably still the case as the lid is stiff to add stability to it, which does seem necessary. But the glass is also VERY thin. Too thin to have the tensile strength to handle the amount of pressure applied by the movements of the hinge. That is a design flaw, and I'm not sure if there's a ... Read more

I cracked my screen and replaced with a new one.   Now when I close the lid, it won't go to sleep; rather it goes to tablet mode.   I have to press the power button to make it go to sleep.   I put back the original screen and it goes to sleep as it should.   I've tried two different brand new screens and it will never go to sleep when closed.    Lenovo doesn't sell replacement screens so I'm forced to go to ebay or Amazon.   I have checked setting to make sure it goes to sleep when the lid closes.   The magnets are in the replacements.  Hmm, has anyone ever experienced this?  Any recommendations what to do?   Thank you for your input.

I'm a global traveller, based in Africa, and wanted to share my terrible experience with Lenova Customer service. After a 10 year stint with Apple, I decided to give Lenova a chance, given the improvement in their product line and opted to purchase a Yoga 900 in Taipei during the business trip there last December. I was very happy with the product until last month, when I got  my screen cracked on a flight from Lagos to Nairobi. I thought, this is inconvinient, but I have global warranty so it should be fixed very soon. This is where the saga began. I checked four countries that i know I was visiting over the next few weeks to see if I can get replacement or a fix. In Nigeria --> They do not have a service centre, so only through 3rd party service centres. I register for a repair, after 3 weeks, they called me to tell me they cannot get the part.In Kenya --> same storyIn Turkey -->  would take 3-4 weeks and no guarantee they would be able to source the partIn US --> the usual, would take 3-4 weeks and no guarantee they would be able to source the part. In addition they told me they are not even sure whether they can service my computer, given it was purchased out of US. It is beyond me how a company who claims to be global can fail on customer service and support in such a major way. And I'm not even claiming this service under warrantly - just want a simple screen replacement or being provided with a replacement machine. Yoga se... Read more

The upper-right corner of my Yoga Thinkpad has a black triangular spot. The mouse does not appear when I move it to this corner. It seems that this section has dead pixels or the lcd component is broken. The screen/LCD glass is not cracked. There is no physical crack on the outer glass of the LCD. The laptop has not been dropped. This issue appeared out of no where about a month ago. I posted pics of my issue below. I sent it for repair to Lenovo and pointed out the affected area. Lenovo called me up to tell me the bad news - they diagnosed the issue as a broken LCD and that it is not covered under warranty. If I want it fixed I would have to pay more than $700 for the replacement screen.I disputed the repair because I feel that there is a design flaw on these TPYs that caused the LCD to be brake. If you look on the front cover of the TPY, there is a Thinkpad logo on the botttom-right of the front cover. This logo has a small red indicator light located on top of the letter "i" of the Thinkpad logo. Guess what? Behind this red light indicator (on the opposite side) is the upper-left corner of the LCD screen. I believe that the mechanism for this red light indicator is protrudes and not properly placed that it can cause the LCD behind it to break if pressure is put on the cover when the lid is closed. In fact, when I received my TPY back from the Lenovo service center, there is an obvious bump protruding from the Thinkpad logo on the front cover. ... The screen on my Thinkpad X201 mysteriously cracked one day, but the multi-touch, pen digitizer and LCD all still function perfectly. The only problem is the glass on top. Is there a part # for this or is it easy to replace without having to replace the entire LCD/digitizer part?

Display and touchscreen is single part, but It won?t support, because you have to change other supporting parts also along with that, like system board and LVDS cable, I won?t think this is worth deal.

Hi all I have a Yoga 3 11 with a cracked screen.  For a laptop which is clearly designed to maximise portability the fragility of the Yoga has surprised me but I have also been shocked at the cost of a replacement screen. The laptop cost me 540 from PC World in June, I have been quoted 500 parts and 50 labour to repair the screen, how can this be considered viable product support? My issue is not with PC World but with the extortionate cost of the replacement part. Can anyone help?

Answer:Yoga 3 11 Screen Replacement

hi Annoyedagain,

Welcome to the Forums.

looked at the parts and I think the reason why the LCD panel is costly is because it's glued to the digitizer (touch panel).. not to mention the panel itself is a 1920x1080 (FHD) IPS, 10-point multi-touch.

- Link to picture

Also, since this model was just released this year (and likely due to supply and demand of the parts) may also be a contributing factor to the price.

If you feel that getting the unit repaired is not cost effective then you could:
1. Connect an external monitor (using a micro HDMI to HDMI cable) so you can use the machine

or

2. Sell the machine as is or by parts (e.g, Ebay) and add up to the proceeds to buy a new computer.

I have a Lenovo Yoga 13 with a cracked LCD screen.  It is not under warranty so all repair costs must be covered out of pocket.  As I understand, the LCD screen and digitizer are one piece and cannot be separated. Right now I am considering two options:1- local repair shop quoted me $425 (with tax) for the part plus $100 labor for repair.  $525 total.2- 365LaptopRepair.com offers LCD/digitizer replacement plus labor for $420 total, with an extra $25 or so in shipping so about $445 total. I am wondering what others in a similar situation have done and if the screen is easy to replace.  I'm leaning towards 365LaptopRepair since it sounds like they have more experience with this replacement and its a bit cheaper, but I also want to know what other options or factors I should consider. Thanks all! -sean

Good morning/afternoon to you all. First of, thanks a lot for letting me into the community. I hope we'll be able to exchange as often as possible. Well i'm a digital artist and i wanted to combine a professional laptop with some creative possibilities. So Yoga 260 seemed to be the best match (for its maneuvrability and integrated stylus)... to the point I saw the exact screen specifications... which are to be perfectly honest, pretty disappointing when it comes to refresh rate and Gamma/Adobe RGB range coverage. So i simply want to customize the hell of my future Yoga260 future acquisition, but I have 2 questions:Can any 12.5i multi-touch display do the trick, or must I get something compatible in any way.If I must get something compatible, which Full HD screen with better RGB ranges so i can do a better job ? Many thanks for any help you can provide me. All the Best max

Hey guys, I'm need to replace the entire top half of my yoga 2 pro. I broke the screen and digitizer and in the process of trying to see what peices I needed to replace I messed up the accompanying wires and such, anyone know if I can order a complete top half to replace it with? Or is buying a laptop with a dead mobo my best option.I might be able to scavenge some of the little boards around the screen, but I'd prefer (read as it would be much easier) for just a whole new top

Answer:Yoga 2 Pro Complete screen replacement

I would tend to look on eBay for a lid assembly or a machine that had a trashed motherboard, like a coffee spill.

Hi, I have a Lenovo ThinkPad Yoga laptop for which I need to replace the touchscreen LCD panel as I've damaged it. Unfortunately, I bought the laptop without any manufacturer warranty as it is an ex-demo piece. I contacted Lenovo Support in India who said that the part is not available in India at all. I was searching in internet and came across a particular model of Thinkpad X240 screen which may be a candidate as replacement screen for my Yoga laptop. Could anyone in this forum please guide me if part 04X3922 can be used to replace my LCD panel in the ThinkPad Yoga laptop?   Model No. - 20CDCTO1WWMy Laptop's Screen Type - Touchscreen Full HD, with Anti-glare, with Digitizer Many Thanks,Vinoth

Hello everyone and thanks so much for your time. (Hope Im doing this right) I have the yoga 3 pro two in one tablet and have enjoyed it very much. Unfortunately it was dropped and the screen was broken so I took it upon myself (which might have been bad) to buy a new screen and replace it myself. I used step by step instructions but after I finished and tried powering it on nothing happened. Do I need to reset something or should it just turn on? The mother board was removed along with quite a few other things... /: please help. Not sure if I should rip into it again or hire a professional. AT THE LEAST I need to retrieve photos and videos of my daughter. Thank you for your time.

My 2nd ThinkPad Yoga arrived today. I powered it on, signed in and then ran the Lenovo Update utility. During the updates, the screen turned white and would not recover. Powered off the system, unplugged the power and powered back on, same result. The system would not let me boot into BIOS. I've tried the reset button, to no effect. Type: 20CD-CT01WW Suggestions? I called IBM-SERV, and got a poor tech who just stumbled around and said "you got a bad LCD" you wanna have us send you an LCD?  Really? I've been on hold to start the RMA process for 1 hour and 18 minutes. Might give up and try calling later. But, I really would love to find a fix.

Can someone point me in the direction to locate a new Flex 2-15D digitizer frame part? I cracked my digitizer and have purchased a new one except the new digitizer does not include the frame and I cannot for the life of me locate this part. The hardware maintenance manual for the Flex 2-15D identifies only the  LCD and digitizer part numbers (FRU's) not the frame that resides between them. Stickers on the old frame don't have part numbers, just identifiers like WIS 460.00Z11.0001 and WIS 441.00Z09.0001 Anyone have any ideas? PSI'm looking for the frame that the digitizer adheres to, not the LCD bezel which is a different part. Thanks everyone.

Are you able to include or PM me a picture, I can probably help you narrow down your search.

Does anybody know where to get a replacement digitizer and glass for XPS 12 9250 4K? I don't know what happened to mine but it broke while I was using it. The screen stopped responding and I when I rebooted it I noticed a crack in the upper corner that continued to crack down to the lower opposite corner. I am looking for a replacement digitizer and glass and I am hoping that they are replaceable.

Answer:Replacement digitizer and glass for XPS 12 9250 4K

The touchscreen assemblies don't appear to be available from third parties - you'll need to contact Dell Spare Parts for a price.
Expect the entire top half of the system to need replacement - the assembly is a single, fused together unit.

My touchscreen cracked- but I bought a $200 insurence policy from Staples, which is where I purchase my computer (and I will NEVER do that again and I don't recommend it). The policy covered accidental damages, such as a cracked screen, but after jumping through hoop after hoop to file a claim, Staples called me saying that they won't fix it becuase it's too expensive, even though I bought insurence. They offered a refund for my computer, but I refused because I adore my Yoga.      I'm really hoping someone can point me in the direction of a third party repairer, or even somewhere where I can buy a replacement touchscreen and have someone like Geek Squad install it. Any suggestions?

Answer:Replacement Touch Screen for Lenovo Yoga

Get the refund for the computer and buy yourself another yoga. I would even request for the old machine back, make a OKR image. Then nuck reformat the hdd and give it back to staples for a full refund. Once done, restore the new yoga with the image you made.

Hello all. My Laptop's screen is currently heavily cracked due to my own clumsiness though I've noticed that it is just the glass digitizer over the LCD. My issue is that I can't seem to find a straight up replacement part to swap over the old cracked glass. Any help finding one would brilliant. Failing that I've found the digitizer for a U350 which looks like it has identical dimensions; would it be possible to use this instead? Laptop is IdeaPad Z500 Touch as stated in the subject. Kind regards to all.

I pulled my ipod touch 3g out of my washed shorts yesterday, and when I pressed the lock key there were some blobs along with the sign telling me to connect it to itunes, and then it kept slowly flashing between the low battery sign and the apple sign, like it was turning off, but then it'd go back to the low bat sign. Now it stopped responding to the home and lock buttons and the screen is black. also the screen has a small crack in it that made the touch part of the screen stop responding to any touch about 3 weeks ago, but then about 3 days ago it started working fine again, and the wash has made the screen start to come up and separate from the ipod on the left side, where most of the crack is. I'm wondering if the ipod service Mission Repair (http://www.missionrepair.com/default.asp) will work for me, or any other replacement service, for that matter. Oh, and the low bet sign just flashed again w/ the apple this time and now its not responding again ( just happened again, and again, now its getting more and more frequent.

Answer:Solved: ipod got washed, digitizer replacement?

By the way it was about 16 hours between when i got it out of my shorts and when i connected it, is that long enough?

Question: Yoga 910 Digitizer

I bought a Yoga 910, as I found out, it doesn't support active pens.  I see on a few sites they sell the display assembly.  https://www.amazon.com/910-14IKB-910-14ISK-Digitizer-Display-Assembly/dp/B071JV7R17 I wanted to know are these screens legit?  It was marketed without active support, but do they sell the screens with the digitizers in them seperately now?

Answer:Yoga 910 Digitizer

That just looks like a replacement screen for the 910, no different to the one that comes with the laptop - it doesn't have a pen digitizer.

Hello, my Lenovo yoga 13 display is broken (just digitizer, not the whole display, LCD and everything other inside is ok) and I'm looking for new. On ebay and other public stores, I found only whole display or lot of digitizers for yoga 11 but not for 13. Is there another way how to get new digitizer without buying the whole display? On repair service, they want 11 000 CZK (about 650$) for replacement but they want to replace the whole display, which is not necessary in my case. Thanks to all for reply

Just to be clear, this is the laptop that I have. I need a pen for it. Any pen at all. Does one exist? Every single pen I've found, people say it doesn't work with this specific laptop. I have friends with lenovo laptops and I've tried their pens on mine and it doesn't work. My finger works fine, but I can't take notes in class like that. I have a pen that works on my iPad, but I don't really like it. I tried it on the Yoga, and it did work, but it was downright terrible. It only picked up about half the time. Lenovo has a thinkpad yoga pen on their website, but I'm quite positive that won't work with this model. So is there anywhere I can a suitable pen? Thanks.

Answer:Yoga 3 14 Digitizer Pen

The yoga 3 14 does NOT have a digitizer layer under the LCD panel. Which means NO digitizer pen will ever work with it. Trust me, im typing from my yoga 3 14 now. The 14" Thinkpad yoga does however suppport pen input. Your only option for a pen is one of those capacative pens with a rubber tip.

I've had this system for around three weeks now and I can say that, while not terribly bothersome, the ghosting issue is definitely present and always makes me a bit concerned when using the device for long periods as I've heard some things about the retention growing worse over time. With that considered, I've two questions. The foremost is to what degree does the image retention grow worse over time, and how severe is it likely to become on a system that is used 6 or 7 days every week and anwhere from 2-5 hours each of those days? Secondly, I've heard that newer systems are shipping with screens that do not display any sort of retention problem and that service centers have such screens available. Would it be possible to obtain a replacement screen, which doesn't experience the retention issue, that I could simply swap myself? I would prefer not to have to send my laptop to a service center because I have a very regular need for it and couldn't spare it for more than a few days during the upcoming holidays. I have quite a considerable amount of experience working with such devices and making FRU swaps, and am confident that I could make the swap (assuming that the process isn't too particularly difficult), especially with reference materials to guide myself. Any feedback or information is appreciated. Thank you for your time.

My daughter cracked her screen and I'd like to replace it. I can't find the replacement part here on the Lenovo website. I'd like to make this as simple as possible and replace the whole lid and not JUST the screen. Can anyone make suggestions or comments on what I am getting into? Recommendations on where to get the part? She is coming home from college so I don't have the unit here. I'd like to get the part and educate myself before she gets here. Other companies should be including these parts. I can not confirm any thing other than what HP does. Here is a link to order HP Parts, if you need it.
