I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

I recently bouht refirbished Yoga 500-15IBD, It has Intel HD 5500 and GeForce 940M. When I bought the laptop online I was under the impresion that the display is FHD. Unfortunatly the maximum resolution that I see in the Windwos 10 display settings is 1366x768. Is this a software issue or the display is not FHD? I am wondering if it is possible that seller changed the original FHD display with HD display. I can't find the full spec of the laptop. Machine Type Model: 80N600FWUK.

I just got a Microsoft Designer Bluetooh Mouse. I was reading reviews for it and people thought it was a good mouse. It has bluetooh 4.0 and so does the Yoga Pro 2. It connected and works just fine. However, I quickly realized that my internet was very very slow. I was wondering what was wrong and tried discconecting the muose. The connection speed instantly skyrocketed. And as soon as I turned it back on, it dropped below usable speeds. I have reinstalled both Wifi and Bluetooh drivers, I have changed chanels on my router. Nothing works. Has anyone else had any luck with bluetooth mice? This is really dissapointing because I thought I was getting someting great by not having to use up one of my only two USB ports. Now it looks like I might have to fork out some more cash for a mouse that actally works.

Answer:Yoga Pro 2 Bluetooth Mouse Crippling Wifi

Hi, I have a MS Sculpt Confort mouse (bluetooth) and the same happens. When using the mouse the WIFI speed drops to 33,6 modem era...Nothing I tried seems to help (configurations in WIFI and bluetooth, drivers, etc). Only turning off the mouse seems to help which is unacceptable. And even then the WIFI speed is nothing to be proud off (comon problem with Y2P and other Lenovo laptops).I've evaluating alternatives, the HP Spectre x360 is really growing on me.

Hi, I've tried looking for tech specs (I know the hardware specs) for the monitor so I can work out what pen/stylus would be best for the touch screen. However, I can not find this particular product (spec specific) on the website.  If anyone could help me out that would be great, Ideally I'd like something with pressure levels as I do digitally draw from time to time, and would be helpful whilst writing. But would settle for something that isn't due to owning a GFX tablet anyway. Also, I'm unsure if this ideapad is referred to as a 15, 500 or 8 due to not know where this terminology is based from (model name, model series ect) seems unclear, perhaps I'm just looking into it too much and it is just a 500. Thanks to anyone that spends time reading, and thanks in advance for advice. ~Kris

Hi mariuszwol5, Welcome to Lenovo Community Forums. Based on what I've found out, seems like both models has same specs as you have mentioned. If I'm not mistaken, the difference here is that, the 80N60084PB has this FRU : 18201638, whereas, the 80N6006FPB does not. FRU : 18201638Description : LGD LP156WF4-SPL1 FHD AG S LED1 NB LCDCommodity Code :  LCD PANELS Also checking on the price of the part itself, based on ebay, it is around USD $99.00. Which as per google, 400 PLN = 98.21 USD.  Hope this helps!

I bought the yoga 500-15IBD(w/i5 5200U;GT 940m and 8G of RAM) in summer of 2015. At first the notebook is doing fine. But at mid-late 2016 the notebook start acting strange, the CPU start lock the frequency at 0.44 Ghz while charging. I find out that the BD prochot is the reason and I disable it with throttlestop. Then when I start gaming for few minutes the laptop just shut down, because of overheating. So I try playing game with BD prochot on and with battery. And the gameplay become very laggy. Not like low fps, but just very laggy. I monitored the CPU and the CPU just get throttled massively frequently and the frequency just go up and down. Which never happen before, the laptop used to be at least playable with consistent (low) fps.  What should I do. Is some component damaged? Should I clean the fan (I checked the fan and it seems fine to me)? Should I charge the thermal paste?  ps I try to stress test both CPU and GPU, it's fine when doing test alone. But when testing both CPU and GPU the temp of CPU just go sky high (~100 C) and the GPU seems to be cool in terms of temperature(75 C)and than the laptop shut down. Even when testing GPU only while CPU is idle both temp got ~75 C. When doing only CPU test CPU temp ~88 C max and GPU stay at ~55 C. It seems the GPU is transfering heats to the CPU.

Hi all. Nice to meet you. I have a Lenovo Yoga 720 and am noticing two issues.  First, whenever I am on Wifi, my connection will occasionally drop and restart. It is becoming a challenge especially during Skype calls and even simple tasks like browsing. My wifi appears to be OK because I have another PC and Mac that does not have any connectivity issues. Is there something I can do investigate and solve this issues? Moreover, I have connected my Microsoft Sculpt Mouse which had worked great on another PC's. While I can connect it with my Yoga, the connection frequently drops and takes a couple of seconds to re-establish itself. If anything, these issues have become a pain. Any suggestions/ideas on how to rectify the situation would be greatly appreciated!

I bought a new Yoga 500 15IBD 2 Months ago and since a view weeks the Laptop had several power breakdowns while in battery mode. All of a sudden the Laptop turns black, all lights and the hdd turns off and I have to connect the power cord to get it started again - although the Battery certainly isn't empty according to the OS-Battery indicators AND often having the Laptop fully charged less than half an hour ago. (The Yoga runs for at least 3 hours if the bug does not appear). Now this is no driver issue, I have the problem while running Windows 10, Linux Mint and Backbox Linux. I suppose it's either a battery issue or a faulty architectual design. Since  I see a lot of similar power-off related messages accross the spectrum of lenovo devices, could someone finally publically explain the source of the problem so there is a chance to get rid of it ... especially in future products?

I purchased a Microsoft Wedge Bluetooth mouse to use with my Yoga.Installation was a breeze, but the mouse pointer slowed down to an unusable level when donloading data over WiFi. The REALTEK Wifi and Bluetooth hardware are integrated on the same device... I went ahead and installed the latest REALTEK driver from the Lenovo website. The mouse works better now, however the pointer still appears to slow down signifiantly every 30 minutes or so. I have to power cycle the mouse to get things to improve. Is anyone else having Bluetooth mouse problems?Do all bluetooth mice just stink? Thanks,  - Felix

Hi, I got a problem with my laptop. The fan is making loud noise everytime I open a new window, a new tab, any setting window and so. I believe it is supposed to make this kind of noise when I'm stressing it with more programs running, not by simply open the files explorer... Any idea on what to do? (model is Lenovo Yoga 500-15IBD)ThanksNstant

Answer:Lenovo Yoga 500-15IBD loud fan noise

Hi Nstant,  Most probably a program or App is running at the background cause fast spinning fan to cool down CPU temp.  To figure it out, right click in your taskbar and from the opened menu click on task manager.  -From top menu click on performance tab then click on resource monitor ==> from top menu click on CPU tab and look at to the Average CPU usage and see which App or Program is using a high percentage of your CPU capacity==> right click on it and end the process.  .Regards,  **If the issue has been resolved please, mark me as solution provided to help others find the solution easily and click the Kudos.**

Answer:Yoga 500 - 15IBD - Bios update went wrong

What you can see there is a Boot menu. Your laptop can't boot from disk and display boot selection menu. Try to enter BIOS (can't say how to do it, as you didn't told which Yoga model do you have) and try to change boot settings from UEFI -> Legacy (or in other way) and/or disable Secure Boot. Check if after these changes your laptop will be able to boot.

I have a web-camera issue with my notebook. It doesn't work. It used to work once or twice. But then suddenly something went wrong. Neither works mic. When I opened my windows 10 "Camera" app it said "Can't find camera". I checked device manager for drivers issues and couldn't find anything about camera. So I added a knew device "Lenovo EasyCamera". My "Camera" app still doesn't work. So I tried to fix in with Lenovo Settings. But there is no any camera folder in it. Reinstalling still didn't fix it. Also I tried installing drivers with official Lenovo website. Still nothing.

Hi,
I recently upgraded my Lenovo Yoga 15-IBD to an SSD, with a complete reinstall of Windows. Everything was working great; boot times were quicker and the system was far more responsive. However, the computer randomly freezes now, without any warning. I have to do a hard reset. Reliability monitor gives no clues of what the problem might be. The SSD is brand new, and passed a 'long' test this morning.

I have no idea where to go next; I seems that there is one problem after another with this laptop!

Thanks for your help!

Answer:Lenovo Yoga 500-15IBD Freezes Randomly after SSD Upgrade

Hi soopg.

When it freezes is there anything being logged in the event viewer? (System / Application / Other)

Have you looked at your Storage drivers. Before attempting to update please ensure you have an Image you can fall back to if required. While investigating would also be a good idea to have data backed up. You said this was a clean install so you likely have that point covered.

If you don't have a tool you could check out Macrium Reflect. Free, reliable and tutorial with forum.

You may wish to check out the Driver Verify process.

This tutorial will guide you through the verification process, heed the warnings. Assuming it fails follow the posting instruction in the BSOD section of forum.

Driver Verifier - Enable and Disable in Windows 10

The tutorial states make a restore point. Seems to be a lot of people having issues using restore points hence have an Image.

Hi everybody, when I unplug the charger on my yoga 500 the screen starts to flicker like a rave party, I have searched like crazy all over and have found no solution to the problem. Things already tested:-Unplugging and plugging battery cable.-Disabling Windows error reporting service and Problem reports and solutions-Trying to update intel drivers from driver section and intel site.-Trying to update, and disable realtek hd audio driver. Things to take in account:-When connected to a second monitor, the new one won't flicker.-Laptop has warranty voided because of ssd install. (problem still occurs on bios with and withouth an HDD/SSD) so it shouldn't be considered a Windows 10 problem.-After SSD install, windows update doesn't allow me to update anything. I believe it thinks I'm booting from external hard drive. I cloned the original HDD into the SDD so that shouldn't be happening-Flickers increase with mouse, cursor and touch. Anybody has a fix for this? I read that a lot of people have this problem but I rarely see fixes.proof video https://www.dropbox.com/s/gttvhylvggtug7x/2017-05-26%2013.00.00.mov?dl=0

The Bluetooth version is combo Wifi Broadcom 4335/ Bluetooth Brcm2045It always show as working device in Device Manager. Can turn on, turn off. Can descover and pair with other out side device such as Smartphone. Browing file on other device is ok. Now let try to transfer files back and fort, very terrible, it only works for small file, let say less than 100kb. For larger file, the transfer always stuck at some point varies. Try to change the Smartphone, change the angle, position of the laptop and the phone, the transfer speed some time change but, extremly slow. This is hardware fault, should I take it to warranty? How to talk to them and how do they would reply.Do they just say it is working? Or do they erase my laptop?

Hi all. Just taken delivery of a new ideapad 305-15IBD. Am finding the mousepad very hard to control. Many times when i try to move the mouse key around the screen, having to touch the pad a couple of times before it moves and even then its quite erratic. Also when tapping on anything using the pad i have to press it 2,3, or even sometimes 4 times before it is recognised. I have bben using a Samsung R519 for years and necer had this issue. Is ithis common to newer laptops, Lenova laptops or is there any way of adjusting? Will surely have many more questions if i can get over this one, if not it may be going back.

Hi all. Purchased a IdeaPad 305 and since setting up the mouse pad lags badly and also have to click links etc 2-3 times. Have done days of resetting, re installing, searching etc and cannot solve the problem. Have adjusted all the settings, too light touch and fast speed but still lagging. I have a feeling from what i have found it could be a compatibility problem with windows 10, possibly driver update though everything installed from new. Can anyone advise how to solve the problem, it must be a common one. Help before i go insane. Update to say i have tried updating grivers and it says windows has checked and i have the correct driversinstalled.......Cheers Bill

My Yoga 500 ideapad totally loses it when I plug it into power. The CPU slows down imidiately and runs at 100% usage every time I make an action (opens Chrome takes like 30 seconds). In Speccy, I can see, that the CPU runs at a speed of approx. 500 Mhz (Core speed). If I unplug the laptop, the speed goes up to like 1,9 Ghz when I opens chrome (chrome opens instantly) and CPU usage maxes out at 40% or so. I can now close Chrome, plug in the laptop once again, and if I open chrome now,it maxes out at 500 Mhz speed with 100% CPU usage. I have just completely reinstalled windows (10, 64 bit) hoping that this would solve the problem. But it haven'tI have downloaded ALL the drivers and software possible from Lenovos own support page for my laptop, I have ran numerous tests from Lenovo, and other thirdparty applications, no one in which finds any problems. What should I do? I have done everything in my power to try and fix this problem. I have tried every possibly advanced power options, I have even changed the "when plugged in" power options to match the "on battery" ones, but without any change in performance. I cannot figure out, if this is a problem with my power supply? Or the CPU itself? And no tests suggests any problems...  Anyone able to help me out with troubleshooting? Hi, For some reason after latest shutdown my wifi adapter just stopped working. And I dont see anyone have similar issue previously here, and I cannot figure out why adapter is like switched off, but Ideapad 100 does not have phisical wifi adapter switch to turn it of. So here is what I've tried/checked (using Win7 Ult x64 btw): Adapter is enabledDisable/Enable to adapterReinstall of all network adaptersUninstall of wifi adapter+driver removal, clean apater install with new driver from lenovo homepageTurn it off and on in BIOSCheched that WLAN service is starting automaticallyThought that maybe I have flight mode on (btw there is no pop-up msg that would inform in win7 if you tur it on and off), so I've played with that so far that I even disabled hotkeys in BIOS to be sure that I tur it on or off with some of action. Disabled option in adapter that PC can turn it offRollback For now Im out of ideas, what else I can check. Basically apater acts like it has been phisically turned off, but my pc does not have switch to tur it off, so I cannot figure out how to turn it on. Next step I can see is only format and clean install, but I badly dont want to do it. Hope someone has an idea what has happened there and get my wifi adapter back to life.

Answer:Ideapad 100-15IBD 80QQ wifi does not find any network

Hi there, Kipis -

Thank you for writing in to the Lenovo Forum - happy to have you here today.

Can you try the following?

Press Fn+F5 to enable the wireless card (ensure Current Status is set to "ON")
If pressing Fn+F5 can't turn the wireless status to ON, ensure that the physical wireless switch is on the ON position.
If same problem, boot into the BIOS by pressing F2 on startup and ensure that the WLAN Device is Enabled.

Update us how it goes.

Answer:Re: Yoga 2 Pro Wifi Problems

Ok, so I see that the earlier Yoga had problems with Wifi, and I'm wondering if this is the same problem I have with my Yoga 2 Pro. If the wifi signal is at all weak, it just seems to drop out. This is a huge headache and might be grounds for returning the machine, which I have already fallen deeply in love with. Is there a fix? Is this just me or is this an issue across the board?

Let me start by saying I've tried everything that everyone has recommended to fix this issue. I can hardly ever connect to my router, when it does it says no internet connection. It will only connect when I'm right next to the router, and even then the speeds are miniscule, 2-5 Mbps when I get over 200 Mbps with my Galaxy S7 in the same place. The issue occurs on 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands. It also occurs on other WiFi networks and while using my phone's mobile hotspot. Drivers are up to date.Wifi card is set to not turn off in Device Manager.Network card is set to max performance in Power settings.I have tried a factory reset of Windows 10.I have tried changing the channel on my router's 2.4 GHz band.I have checked the wifi card itself, as well as the antennas by a shop. They said the antennas look fine and are connected.I have uninstalled literally all bloatware that was on the device from factory.I have tried everything except replacing the WiFi card itself. The wifi card is Qualcomm Atheros QCNFA34AC. I'm not sure when it started but it has been happening for a while, I don't use my laptop that frequently. It could have happened after upgrading to Windows 10 from 8.1. In the mean time I have been using an ASUS Wifi USB adapter that works flawlessly, gets 100+ Mbps from the other side of my apartment from the router.

Answer:Yoga 3 14" wifi problems

Longshot you may have already tried: set the wifi card's channel width to 20MHz, or if it's already set that way try "auto" or the other possibilities.

I've seen the "connected but no internet" problem and worked around it this way.  Unlikely if it was working previously but easy to try.

I purchased a Lenovo yoga 13 a year ago. My wifi signal is very weak when we travel and stay in hotels. I bought 2 different wifi usb adapters ( netgear and amped) and installed both of them. However, after installing the adapter software somehow something disabled my on board wifi and I was unable to get it to work at all until I removed the adapter software and reloaded my realtek onboard wifi driver. I do have the latest Realtek driver.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I bought my device 2 months ago and well I have several concerns . first of all, when receiving a Lenovo laptop, does the warranty begin from the day that you get the laptop or before? Because I think I may have been sold an old device(my warranty expires in May, 2016 and I got my laptop in August 2015). Also I seem to be having a very difficult time connecting to my campus wifi anywhere on campus. With my cellphone I can connect to the wifi anywhere but with my laptop I can't seem to connect to any wifi at all. This is really frustrating as I can't seem to get any work done with troubles connecting to the Wifi. I looked around on forums and I could not find any solution that worked. Have to say this is truly dissapointing, receiving a product with numerous problems from such a well respected company.

Welcome to the community!
I have a Yoga 13 (personal use) and one of the  things I did was to visit  support.lenovo.com and look for the relevant drivers for my laptop.
In this case I ran this http://support.lenovo.com/us/en/products/laptops-and-netbooks/yoga-series/yoga-13-notebook-ideapad/d...

It did help my case - hope this can address your issue too.

Hi   My Wifi conneciton keeps dropping, it's not related to the router, as I have other computers and devices connect, also it happend with diferent wifi conections and routers. The connection just drops and then they cannot detect the any network for a very long time. I've restarted my computer to try and solve this but this doesn't always solve the immediate problem, it happends randomly, sometimes 3 to 4 time in a hour, then ok for a couple of hours.  I've realized also that sometimes when I'm working, even that on the task bar it doest show, when I press the notification setting on the taskbar I get that the flight mode is on, with bluetooht and wifi even though it's not?? I have lenovo solution center and lenovo companion intallled and apparentely all the lastest drivers. So is there a solution for this, or is my computer just fautly and needs to be returned?? Thank you for your help

Hello guys,When I first got the Lenovo Yoga 13 (first of the series), I had some problems that was with the fans. So it was send back to repair and got it a few weeks back later.Everything was ok, even after installing Windows 8.1 update 1.But since a few months, the touchscreen is acting up.Screen thinks it's being touched at wake-up, after reboot, after everything.Sometimes the touchscreen doesn't even react (like it's shutdown)Mouse is acting up aswell. I have two mouse cursers onscreen. 1 is stationary. At one point and never moves. The other mouse is working fine, except that it's flickering during movement. Otherwise it's transparant/not showing. So after searching the forums about this subject, I came across a few threads that subscribes similar problems, but not the same. No-one knows an answer, so I decided after a few weeks (today) to reinstall the complete PC.Unfortunately the problems stays.I bought the thing on 2012-11-29 (29 november 2012) and the warrenty expired at 2014-11-28 (28 november 2014).Does anyone knows what to do about this???Thanks in advance

Answer:Yoga 13 Screen problems and mouse

my first gen yoga kinda did that too. upon opening it up, the login "curtain" would attempt to swipe up as if i was touching it but it settled itself down. also sometimes upon opening it, it couldn't decide the orientaion i had it in but fixed itself after a few seconds.  also the physical start button under the screen never did work on my second one (first one was stolen but worked flawlessly) but i never used that button so i didn't care.it never did stay on the screen so after a wipe and reinstall, your's sounds a physical issuei can't say i really figured out the problem but it wasn't very glitchy towards the end before i sold it to but the yoga 3 14"It's having it's own digitizer/touch screen problems that seem to be common for a number of owners that is well documented all over these boards and the web in general

I have a yoga 13 (the oldest version) that recently broke on the base cover near to the hinge. I brought a replacement base cover (something I know Lenovo would probably not recommend). I went about disassembling the yoga and transferring all the components from the broken base cover to the new one. After reassembly, everything worked except for the wifi with the system stating that the local area connection adapter is disabled.I have checked the connections to the wifi card and all appear fine and have checked to see if the antennas on the new cover are broken by reconnecting up the ones from the broken cover but this does not work.Is this a problem with the system or alas a hardware problem that would need repairing?

I've had my yoga for almost two years now and recently I've been having two issues: 1. The WiFi adapter will sometimes go out and it won't even show up on the device manager. The only "fix" I've found so far is to shut down and turn the computer back on (usually at least a couple of times) until the adapter starts showing up again. I've gone to the bios to check to see if it's showing up when I run the motherboard test and sometimes the PCI slot that it occupies doesn't even show up. I've been having to use a small USB WiFi adapter when the onboard adapter feels like being particularly uncooperative on certain days. 2. At random times (every few hours or so) when the laptop is just sitting on my desk, I will get an auto rotate notification and the screen will change its orientation, go into tablet mode, and disable the mouse and keyboard. Usually the screen will go back to normal after a few seconds, but the keyboard and mouse will still be disabled and the only way to get them both activated again (as far as I know) is to shut down the laptop and then turn it back on. My guess is that these two problems might be related. The reason why I think so is because I had similar issues a year ago with the WiFi adapter frequently not showing up on the device manager. I had the laptop sent in and it turned out to be an issue with the motherboard, which had to be replaced. So my guess is that there's something wrong with the motherboard again, which is affecting both the... Read more

My toshiba laptop came with absolutely no discs whatsoever, is this normal?

The wifi can find networks but when i try to connect i get a message saying invalid network key (or soemthing like that) een when i've put the correct password in multiple times.

And lastly, when i start up the laptop my left click on both the button and touchpad will only right click the desktop, but then when a window is opened and i "left click" it acts as if the windos is in the background.

I found what i believe is the latest driver to the touchpad, installed it, all works except the right click doesn't work whatsoever.

When i restart my laptop it reverts back to the old touchpad drivers and so i have to reinstall the driver via keyboard.

Yes, it?s normal.
I assume you didn?t read the user manual because there you can find the reason for that.

Regarding your issues it?s hard to say why this happen but I still assume that you are try to put in the wrong password. Please check this again or use another password.

And have you tested an external mouse? Does the same happen?

Hi, I needed to do a factory restore on my Y500 due to it keeping turning off and not turning on again. Since performing the restore with One Key Recovery and Windows 10 reinstalled I have "Test Mode Windows 10 Home build 10240" in the bottom right corner of the desktop. The WiFi says its turned on but does not show any networks, trouble shooting suggests to turn on Wifi but it goes straight off again. Ethernet card is not showing in Device manager. The majority of keyboard keys enter a 6 even the delete key, Trackpad does not function at all. The on screen keyboard does work as does a USB Mouse.I have used a USB WifI adaptor to get broadband and downloaded all possible Windows updates to no avail. I have installed Lenovo's System Update app which is at present downloading packages but has taken almost 2 hours to download 196 mb of 842 mb - but that is possibly due to the slowness of the USB WiFi adaptor.Any ideas as to what has gone wrong? Thanks

So this sounds simple - using the wrong password but that's not the propblem - the problem occurred dec 12 or 13. (It also defaults to trying to connect to IOptimum internet whick i don't subscribe to) I've treid the Lenovo systesm troubleshooter and Microsoft's network, Internet and network adapter troubleshooters - no problems found. I done a system restore to back out the most recent updates. No luck.
Looking for any sort of advice - including how to get win 8.1 to forget specific networks. I saw this once using a right click on the network SSID but cvant get it to work for the life of me. The adapter is a Intel N-7260 I can send event logs from the adapter properties if needed.
I can connect to both unsecured and secured networks wiothout a problem.. The issue is only with my home wireless network. The yoga does not have a network jack for a wired connection.
I've reset my combo modem/wireless router ARRIS NVG589.

If it means anything - prior to this I always get a disconnect from WiFi at  exactly midnight - maybe it is renewing a DHCP lease?

The wifi on a couple of the yoga's we are using update to the newest version of intel drivers and started working fine. But after the computer reboots the wifi does'nt start when the os starts. You have to start the wifi by disabling it and the enabling it. Now all the services for it are set to auto. And all the power options are set right. Now the question is this a hardware issue thats causting the this problem. Now i have only 4 out of the 22 that are having this problem.

I purchased a Yoga Pro 2 from BestBuy the other day, as well as my roommate. We both are IT guys and do this for a living. We have both noticed on ours that we have no wireless N ability. We both can only see B/G networks. When connected the speed of the network shows 56mbit. If you go to device manager, and properties of the wifi adapter, then advanced. The bottom option for wireless modes only shows B, G, B/G options. No N. I know it only has 2.4ghz and not 5ghz. We both have updated with the latest driver on Lenovo website, as well as used the latest adapter from Intel's own website. I know there is a huge thread about wifi issues, but it seems to be about disconnecting and other problems. Nothing specific to seeing or connecting to a 2.4ghz wireless N network. Anyone else see or hear of the issue connecting or seeing wireless N? Any ideas?

The wireless-n function for 7260 is called "HT mode". Enable that one. Make sure on the router that wpa2 aes is the only security and that wmm is enabled in QoS page. You should get N connection.

So I bought my Yoga 2 Pro 2 weeks ago, after weeks of comparing it with all other ultrabooks I found it to be the most ideal for my usage compared to other on the market.  The $1200, I7, 8GB,256GB combo just cant be beat.  The only thing I with for was a full size HDMI, or anything other than the micro.  I also am running it at 1920x1080 because the defaut resolution just keeps a lot of submenus to small despite scaling, and it still looks fantstic. I thought the lack of AC Wifi was pretty lame, especially given the minimal price to upgrade the card from a builder perspective.  After doing all the updates, my "adapter" shows "Dual Band Wireless-AC 7260".  I am wondering about this.  I figure there are a few scenarios: Lenovo started installing AC cardsAn update is identifying the card as AC because of firmware or device ID despite it being N onlyThe computer was returned by a previous owner who installed AC card I fugured the 5Ghz connection meant AC, but I researching it, and the N band can also be transmitted in 5Ghz.  I guess I could share a folder on an ethernet connected machine and initiate a large file transfer and time the thransfer rate, however this may just open up more questions if the transfer is slow.  I have ordered the AC replacment card from amazon for about $45, I would reather not open up the laptop if I dont need to and save myself the money.  I bought the laptop at Best Buy if that makes any dife... Seems to be an older topic but one I am interested in.  Can't find a definitive answer using search critieria on Google. Want to know if someone has done this.  Particularly, someone who has done this but turned their yoga 2 11 into a linux device.

I am using a lumia 630 dual in India. It cannot access my university wifi and shows limited connectivity. Though iphones and android phones does and even the lumias with win7.5. University wifi is HTTP proxy username password based. I can set the proxy and port by manual setting in wifi but internet explorer repeatedly asks for username passward, even if I put them multiple times it cant remember. Need quick solution to it.

Hi All, The wireless adapter has disappeared! It was working well for 6 months and Saturday it stopped connecting. It reconnected Sunday briefly, but this morning  will not connect again .If I go into 'Change adapter settings' in windows there is no wireless adapter, only bluetooth.I have used device manager to search for the device, reinstalled the wireless drivers, gone into BIOS and disabled and re-enabled the Wireless there, but the device just will not appear. Any ideas, or is it time to return it under warrenty. Shame as it has worked flawlessly for 4 months

My yoga will connect to my wifi network only once. I then need to reboot my wifi router. No other devices in the house have this problem and the network is always still active. I get two messages and not sure why I get one and not the other. The messages basically say either network not available (but it is) or that something has changes and it asks for the network password but then wont connect either. My network adapter is Realtek RTL8723AU. I have made sure all drivers are up to date, tried changing power saving options so they dont turn off adapter.  Does anyone have any idea how to fix this?

I'm looking to upgrade a Yoga 2 with this wifi card: http://www.amazon.ca/Dual-Band-Wireless-Ac-7260-928603/dp/B00D69CJ2Y Will it work?  Does it have a "whitelist" like some other models have? Thanks!

yes the yoga has a whitelist too. This card isn't one with Lenovo FRU, so it most likely won't work.

Hi all, As with many I am experiencing severe Wifi issues with new Yoga 11s. I will try to explain in detail in the hope that someone who better understands how wifi really works might be able to help diagnose. I have a Talktalk badged Huawei HG533 router. This delivers c.15Mbs reliably all around my house (2xTVs, computers up and downstairs, 2xphones). Using Speedtest.net to capture speeds. With the Yoga, if I sit right next to the router (as I am now), I get 15Mbs. In other parts of the house I get just 0.5Mb, including rooms where other devices are measured at 15. I have updated drivers and upgraded to W8.1 though I experienced exactly the same problem before the upgrade. I have tested every room and it seems that it will either work at very close to the maximum (in a few rooms) or drops off catastrophically to 0.5mb or less. There is no in between. I never lose connection altogether. There seems no correalation between the level of signal displayed (4 or 5 bars) and the speed. The 'good' rooms are separated by fewer walls. I have also observed that on occasion having tested in a good room and then moving to one of the bad rooms it initially shows good performance, before seemingly recognising where it is and throttling back to unusable. It is as though once it gets to a certain distance/separation/signal strength it somehow 'jams' the signal. I really neeed to find a solution to this as 1. my office is one of the bad rooms and 2. I am oft... Read more

Answer:Yoga 11S WiFi issues

I notice that 80 people have viewed my previous post but no one yet replied . Thought I'd give an update to see whether anyone else experienced similar problems. So - machine still behaving as before (good or bad, nothing between) so I bought a USB wi-fi adapter because I needed to get connection in my office. I got exactly the same issues! .  Sitting in my office - old laptop (shortly to return to ex employer) running along nicely at 15Mbps - new Yoga, with TP-Link adapter in (and on-board RealTek disabled) crawling at 0.3Mbs 2 feet away. Could it be some on-board interference coming from Yoga itself (that takes over at a certain level of signal)? Could it be something to do with W8? I am at a complete loss and would really welcome any feedback or suggestions from other forum members. Many thanks

MY yoga 900 arrived yesterday and I haven't been able to connect to WFI for more then few minutes before experiencing heavy drop outs. Not only that, but it is  interfering with all other devices connected to the same wifi and I loose signal on all devices(MY phone and my wife laptop). The only way to get back the connection on those devices is to power down  the yoga completely. It is the first time I experience this kind of interference. I suspected the problem was a compatibility issue between my router and the yoga. So I took the yoga to the office today and the same things happened!?!! All devices in the office lost the WIFI  unless I turn off the machine.... Any help? Thanks!

I'm having very inconsistent wifi performance on my Yoga 910. This has the Qualcomm Aetheros network adapter. I already installed the latest drivers from lenovo site. I also adjusted the power settings for maximum performance on both plugged in and battery. I have full signal... I'm maybe 15 feet away from my router. My phone is getting nearly 100Mb/s and my expensive new laptop is struggling to hit 2Mb/s right now. I've searched and tried any and all fixes. It seems that a restart will usually get the speed back up, but only temporarily. I check resources and don't see any process or service using the wifi, yet the speed tanks like crazy. As an example, I was barely able to hit 2Mb, restarted and now its hitting 150Mb every time. After about 5 minutes, speeds are back down to 2-5Mb tops. What's going on here? -- Ed

Answer:Yoga 910 wifi issue

I'm experiencing WLAN performance issues as well. See the issues section in my review of the 910.

Are you also seeing WHEA-logger errors being reported in the Event Viewer? Does it help if you connect using the 2.4GHz band instead of the 5GHz band?

There's clearly something wrong, but whether it's really the hardware or the driver software is difficult to tell at this point. I've put a service call into Lenovo. I'll see what that brings.

I have to press the power button 7 seconds, unplug the power and press power button, then it's works. I detect this problem during the 1st start... I try to flash the BIOS with the last version and install the new wifi driver and the new energy manager, but the result is the same... Does anyone have a solution ? Thanks

I have a DIR-826L wifi router which broadcasts two SSID's.   For some reason my new Yoga 2 pro only sees one of them.  All of my other devices can see (and connect) to both.  Is this a Windows 8 issue, or is this related to the Yoga?

Answer:Yoga 2 pro not seeing one of my wifi ssids

Sorry, but the wireless card that comes on the Yoga 2 Pro, the Intel Wireless-N 7260, is not dual-band, so it won't see your 5GHz SSID. The card is replaceable, if that is of interest to you. I'd look at these threads on the issue: http://forums.lenovo.com/t5/Idea-Windows-based-Tablets-and/Yoga-2-Pro-WiFi-Replacement-Cards/td-p/13...http://forums.lenovo.com/t5/Idea-Windows-based-Tablets-and/Yoga-2-Pro-802-11ac-Wi-Fi-Yes-or-No/td-p/...

Hello, I've had my Yoga 3 for a few months now and have had a recurring problem with the WiFi. Often when I close my laptop and it goes to sleep, the next time I try to use it the WiFi doesn't connect. This also sometimes happens when I'm in the middle of using it. There is a red X over the WiFi icon and when I click the settings it says "no networks found." No matter how many times I turn the WiFi off and on it refuses to find any networks. When I restart my computer it works fine and connects to my school's network automatically as it should. Any ideas as to why it disconnects and refuses to find my network? It is annoying to have to restart my computer every time I want to use it. Thanks!!

I bought this on Friday and since then I think my WiFi has dropped 6 or 7 times.  Does anyone have a fix for this?

Answer:Help with Yoga 13 and WiFi dropping

The Y2 13" uses the same wifi card as the Y2P.... It has been well documented that this card is garbage. Currently there is an 83 page thread on this issue: http://forums.lenovo.com/t5/Idea-Windows-based-Tablets-and/Re-Yoga-2-Pro-Wifi-Problems/td-p/1452437/... You got to patiently wait for a fix. Some have been waiting for a fix since October, nearly 6 months ago. So, don?t expect any solid fixes any time soon. However within those 83 pages there is lots of advice to help reduce the drops. However, it won?t be totally gone.

I am using a lenovo yoga 14. When I connect to my wifi network at home the internet often randomly turns off. I'm currently on my second Yoga in a week. The first one would not connect to the WiFi in my home at all. It would see every router in my neiborhood, but wouldn't connect. After trying a different router, even going so far as to walk down to the local Starbucks. Nothing. So I spoke to someone at Lenovo and we decided that I should just exchange it at the local Best Buy, they seemed to thing it had a faulty wireless card. I exchanged it, un boxed it, and tried to get it to connect. After several tries, it connected. It stayed connected for about a half hour, long enough to stream an episode of South Park, then it disconnected, and wouldn't reconnect. Then it seemed to reconnect on its own out of no where. When it is connected, it seems to lose its connection when it goes to sleep, and not reconnect when it wakes up again, setting the whole "reconnect, disconnect" game into motion. I've had this second Yoga about 2 days, and I'm thinking I'll return it too. Which is a shame, I really like everything about it, but I refuse to be a beta tester and change a bunch of settings on a $1000 laptop, just to use it. I have the connect automatically box checked, and I have a NetGear WNDR3700 router in my house.I have no other difficulties, as almost everything in my home is hard wired. I'd love some insight, but if this can't be resolved in the next day or 2, I'll return it and wait for another convertible ultrabook to come out. And to be clear,... Read more

Answer:Yoga 13 WiFi issues

Please try setting your Negear WNDR3700 Wireless Settings so that the 2.4Ghz mode is "Up to 130 Mbps", not "Up to 300 Mbps".  You can also try changing the wireless channel to 11 or 1. The Yoga's wireless seems very (in)sensitive to certain wireless environments so changing these parameters may make a difference.  If so, let us know and we can encourage others to try the same thing as a workaround while we wait for a possible improvement or fix from Lenovo.

Hi,I bought a Yoga 500 approx 9 months ago. After two months the wifi suddenly ceased working completely - I received the error message "Not connected - no connections available". I tried basic troubleshooting, but in the end I was forced to leave it in for service.  I got it back after a few weeks, and it has subsequently worked fine - until 2 weeks ago, when I received the same error message. I am not able to connect to the internet through wifi at all, and  have tried basic troubleshooting. Anyone expereinced this problem? I hate to leave it again for service... Thanks for any help. BrTrond

Hey, So I bought the new 700 yoga with the core i7 this past week. I had some issues with the wifi and have been scouring the internet and can not find a fix for the incredibly slow wifi. My internet is fios with 40 up and down and can get that speed on my lenovo thinkpad, y series laptop, and cell phone. But this the only laptop that has windows 10 installed and when i run either speedtest.net or the internet health test this laptop will not get anything close to that. I have installed all the windows update and disabled the peer to peer update and every information sharing option in the settings. The speeds i can get in the first minute of turning on the laptop is 8 down and 20ish up. After one or two minutes the down and upload speeds drop to 0.1mbps down and up and it will time out the internet constantly. Anyone else having issues like this? I called the tech support line and since I am getting some wifi connection the support service said it is not a hardware issue and is a software issue but for the support i would have to pay to on a laptop i had less than a week.Any help would be great.
