Touchscreen on Yoga 3 14" working poorly after Windows 10 upgrade

Question: Touchscreen on Yoga 3 14" working poorly after Windows 10 upgrade

This is my first post in the community. I got my Yoga 3 14" two weeks before the Windows 10 launch and I was loving it. I did the 10 upgrade and it seemed to be working great for the first couple days, and I deleted the "windows.old' files. My touchscreen has started having problems though, and they seem to be related to Windows 10. It wil work for a while after I turn the computer on, and then it starts to become less and less responsive until I restart again. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the touchscreen drivers. This seemed to make it work a little longer. Is there an update that Lenovo has for this driver, or somthing that it is missing from Windows 8 that I could add to my windows 10 files to make it work better? I mostly am hoping to find that others are having the same problem, so that a software fix can make it better. If it is a problem wtih my machine only I'll have to start looking into using my warrenty to get a replacement. Thanks.

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Answer: Touchscreen on Yoga 3 14" working poorly after Windows 10 upgrade

I'm in the same situation. Purchased a Yoga 3 this summer and everything worked great after the windows 10 upgrade for a couple of weeks. Then suddenly not only did my touchscreen stop working, the USB ports also stopped responding. Under the system information it stated that my computer had no pen out touch input is availble for the display. I was unable to resolve the issue and reverted back to windows 8.1. Everything is functioning normally with the old operating system. Hopefully Lenovo will release an update that fixes the problem. I think I'm just going to hold off upgrading to windows 10 for a few more months.

Or a link to the correct drivers for the touchscreen? Or could Lenovo support maybe point to these packages so I can get this thing working as marketed...

This seems to happen whenever a Windows update goes out, and I have to wait for Lenovo to provide firmware/bios/driver updates that fix the problem.  I have to say that this recurring bad experience will weigh heavily into my next purchasing decision.  I paid a lot extra for a touchscreen that breaks with every Windows update, and the wait for a fix is often quite long. What is the ETA for this next round of fixes from Lenovo?

I recently upgraded to Windows 8.1 then soon after I've noticed a problem where the touch screen doesn't work. Usually it starts working after the laptop has been active for a minute or two. It then works pretty much as normal but can sometimes stop again. I've checked the drivers for it and it has the latest drivers according to Windows. I have applied other Lenovo Win 8.1 drivers but have seen nothing specific to the touch screen. Anyone else experienced issues or have ideas to fix this? Thanks,Nigel

My touchscreen is not working after upgrading to windows 10 (64 bit).  I KEEP GETTING THE SAME RESPONSE to follow these steps: open device managerexpand HUMAN INTERFACE DEVICEright click on HID COMPLIANT TOUCHSCREEN and update the driver The problem is that HID COMPLIANT TOUCHSCREEN is NO LONGER showing up under the tab HUMAN INTERFACE DEVICE I also was told to click on view under DEVICE MANAGER to show hidden devices.  Again there are no hidden devices, meaning I have NOTHING that is shaded out under HUMAN INTERFACE DEVICES. I was told that maybe my touchscreen driver was listed under another name under USB controllers - NOT THERE. I was told to install updates and reboot.  I did SEVERAL TIMES.  This DOES NOT reinstall the driver. DOES ANYONE have a solution to this?  There should be a "hotfix" for this in windows 10 OR HID COMPLAINT TOUCHSCREEN DRIVER should be a separate driver to download.  Frustrating. Anybody...any solutions whatsoever?

After upgrading my Yoga 2 13" Notebook to Windows 10, the operating system is unable to recognize the pen & touch drivers on the system board. I'm able to see what appear to be generic "Slate" and "USB Input" drivers in under install Human Interface Devices within the Device Manager. However, when observing Windows System information, the OS reports that it is not capable of Pen & Touch. Lenovo's Synaptics drivers do not appear to install the Touchscreen drivers upon installation. I have attempted performing a full system recovery multiple times now, and installing Lenovo drivers manually. No change in status. Looking for a solution if anyone else has been able to resolve this issue. ??

Hi all, I've seen a few other posts on this subject, but haven't noticed anything too recent.  I've run into an issue with my brand new Yoga 720 where my touch screen fails to work.  Upon opening device manager, I see that my Wacom Device has a little alert next to it.  The error reported by the device is: "This device cannot start. (Code 10)  A request for the HID descriptor failed." I have tried to reinstall the driver multiple times.  I've grabbed both the Lenovo and the Wacom versions of the driver with no success. I just got the machine today.  The touch screen did not work during the initial installation process, so I don't think the updates are what killed it (as reported elsewhere).  It's also not promising that things magically started to work again after some amount of time. I suppose I don't mind taking the laptop back, but it's otherwise such a nice little laptop (widespread issues with cheap display parts notwithstanding) that I'd really like to be able to hang on to it. Any assistance and / or updates on this problem would be appreciated!

I have a Lenovo Yoga 3 pro with the Intel Core M 5Y70 Processor. Touchscreen has stopped working for awhile now and I haven't really gotten around to trying to find a solution until now since windows 10 has just been released. I'm currently getting an error 10 for the l2c HID device. Note that there are two displayed under my devices. I've tried uninstalling both and reinstalling to see if that works, but they still show back up the same way. Originally I was on Windows 8.1 and touchscreen stopped working, I'm assuming from some sort of driver issue (installed a wrong driver, or conflicting drivers). I thought Windows 10 could fix this by doing an upgrade, so I went through the upgrade process. Everything came out fine, but touch screen didn't work still. I downloaded and installed all the drivers needed on the Lenovo Support website. That didn't fix my problem. I then decided to reset my laptop and wipe everything for a clean install. Well after doing that on Windows 10, it brought me back to Windows 8.1 (that's fine, just took a bit longer to get back to windows 10). After Windows 8.1 was finished reinstalling, touch screen still didn't work. So I upgraded to WIndows 10 again and updated all the drivers again from the Lenovo Support website. Well touch screen still doesn't work. Might I add that the Windows Icon capacitive button on the screen works just fine. Any help would be greatly appreciated as I feel like i've tried everything on my side. I possibly ha... Read more

I bought a Yoga 3 Pro (1370) just before Xmas.  Worked fine until a month or so ago when the touchscreen suddenly stopped working and is unresponsive.  On trying to research this, I came across a reference to device manager.  I have checked my device manager and have a fault sign against "I2C HID Device" - there are two such entries, but only one has the yellow triangle.  I have tried disabling, uninstalling, refreshing the driver for the faulty entry, but nothing seems to work.  Thanks in advcance to anyone with any advice?

I don't know if this is relevant, but since some kind of update a few weeks ago, the laptop also takes about a minute to boot up to the log in screen.

Hey everyone, I picked up my Yoga today, and I love it. However, about an hour ago the touchscreen went completely unresponsive. The last thing I remeber doing, before noticing the touchscreen becoming unresponsive, was installing the Android SDK. (Well, I ran the installer, but it didn't recognize JDK). So, here I am, with the touchscreen not functional at all. Has anyone else had a similar problem? Does anyone have any suggestions? I tried the "refresh" and that didn't work. I'm probably going to try the wipe/clean install option in a bit. I guess that would tell me for certain if it's a hardware problem or not. I'm really hoping this isn't a design flaw with the 360 hinge causing issues. I really like the laptop, and would rather not have to deal with hardware issues like this down the road. :/ I'll be calling support in the morning, but was hoping to get this resolved tonight if anyone has had a similar problem.  Thanks!

I have had a lenovo yoga three since around late july. Never experience any problems with it until I brought it up to college. From early septemeber I have been experiencing the touchscreen spazzing out and having mutliple touchpoints on the screen when I'm nowhere near. I found what I thought was the solution here:  Try this fix: https://support.lenovo.com/us/en/documents/SF15-I0024  I installed it tonight and haven't been able to get the touchscreen to work since. Did this program turn off the touchscreen completely? I always like using the touchscreen, and would like to have it back on.

Hi eddiegio, Welcome to Lenovo Community 1,. As you mentioned just upgrading to win 10 just try to update the windows as in some of cases issue will be resolved after windows update. 2. Go to device manager and check whether you have any unknown device?  If you have any unknown device please try to install Dynamic Platform and Thermal Framework Driver from the driver page.  Regards, **If the issue has been resolved please, mark me as solution provided to help others find the solution easily and click the Kudos.**

I recently bought a Yoga 520 from a local Lenovo's partner store. Everything worked fine, until I recently intalled the latest Windows update and restarted the device. I also enclosed the list of Update I installed until today (09/29). I had contacted the store where I bought the laptop and also consulted the local service center, but both of them couldn't resolve the issue. Some efforts I had tried:1. Accessed Control Panel > Hardware & Sound > Device Manager > Human Interface Devices > HID Compliant Touch Screen. I had tried to: 1) disable and reenable it, and 2) uninstall it and restart the laptop, but none of them works (the touchscreen still does not detect touch input). 2. Downloaded and installed the latest Wacom Drive, including the Wacom Dual Touch driver. This also does not resolve the issue. 3. Downloaded and installed the latest NVIDIA and Intel HD's graphic card driver. Again, the touch screen is still not responding. 4. Accessed the Universal Serial Bus Controller > USB Root Hub (xCHI) > Properties > Power Management and disabled the "Allow the Computer to turn off this device to save power". It still doesn't work. Some other conditions:1. The Lenovo's Wacom-powered pen works perfectly. The screen detects the digital input, but it does not detect hand/finger touch input.2. Doing full reset of Windows brings the touchscreen capability back. However, after Windows automatically downloaded and installed the forementioned ... Read more

My Yoga 13 touchscreen will suddenly stop working and then start working again. It usually stops working for anywhere from 15 minutes to 2 hours. I've been unable to figure out what driver enables the touchscreen, so I don't know what version I'm running, but it is up to date according to Windows Update. The two issues began at different times and don't seem to have any relation to each other, but I have also been having WLAN issues. Here's a link in case someone thinks they are connected: https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/Idea-Windows-based-Tablets-and/Yoga-13-connectivity-with-Realtek-RTL872... Many thanks.

There are parts of the screen (near the center, a bit to the left) not reacting to my fingers. For example, on desktop, when I touch a spot for like 5 secs and remove, it'll act like right click and a menu comes up.But near that specific spot, it doesn't react at all or react partially (as if I'm touching that part repeatlessly, it'll act like drag if I move but doesn't wor as right lclick no matter long i leave my finger there) or worst the circle for where my finger is supposed to be is like 2 cm lower. Software problem?Or need repair?   Edit: Nevermind, googled around and someone suggested restarting and it seems to work.Good thing it's not permanent, should have done it earlier.

Answer:Touchscreen not working properly (yoga 700)

Okay, this happened again. It was working fine, put it on sleep, went back to it after ~50 minutes, parts of the touch screen wasn't responding.I think last time was after sleep too. I didn't restart it this time, put it back on sleep and woke it up right away and it's fixed.  While I can fix it with a restart or by putting back to sleep, it gets annoying doing it again and again. Is there a way to fix this?

I'm running windows 10, and suddenly my touchscreen stopped working. I checked in the device manager and the "HID compliant touch screen" was disconected. After trying to reinstall software, it was uninstalled and now the option does not even show up anymore. I reinstalled all lenovo drivers and im getting nothing. Windows has no idea its even there. Full disk format and a fresh copy of windows 10, and still nothing. This laptop has been through lenovo support again and again, the last time it went was kinda the last straw for me. :/ It's out of warranty now, but while it was in repair, other things on the computer were also damaged. Hence why it went back twice. But now suddenly the touch screen has stopped and I can't get a single response. Im hoping this is a driver malfunction somehow, but the touchscreen will not even show up in the device manager, not even under hidden devices. Any help?

Hope this helps.

Hey there, I just bought a brand new Yoga 720 13IKB yesterday. Now I just configured Windows 10 and realized that the Touchscreen doesnt work. Like, at all. Which is funny, because it worked once, at the first screen of the Windows initialization, where I pressed "Next" on the touchscreen. After the whole procedure, when I got to the desktop, however, it ceased to work. In the device manager it says 'this device cannot start" (Code 10)'  on the 'Wacom Device'. It also has the yellow exclamation mark on it. So I assume, that's what causes the problem. I just don't know how to fix it, though. I'm absolutely out of ideas at this point. The list of things I've tried includes:- Deinstalling Wacom Drivers entirely- Reinstalling Wacom drivers, first time from Wacom directly, second time from Lenovo page- Installing every othe driver, including chipset drivers- Installing all availably Windows Updates- Installing newest Lenovo Firmware- Installing new BIOS (which didn't work since the newest BIOS was already on there)- Giving up and doing a complete factory reset, including reinstalling Windows 10 None of these things did anything. Even now, after the factory reset it still has the same issue and the same yellow excalamtion mark. What the hell. It has to be some driver issue, since the touchscreen itself worked (once).  So what am I supposed to do?? I can't even return my machine and request a new one, since the st... Installed wifi driver from Lenovo support page (http://support.lenovo.com/us/en/products/laptops-and-netbooks/thinkpad-x-series-laptops/thinkpad-x1-...)4. Main issue im having is the keyboard is acting very bizzare. First keypress does not register when I start typing or after pressing the spacebar. shift keys and backspace are intermittent. for example, on this sentence i had to press the "f" key twice as well as press every letter twice after each press of the spacebar. Reinstalled drivers, system restore, malware scans all to no avail. i'd guess it's a hardware issue.now the touchscreen:does not work 99% of the time but randomly appears to. When it's not working windows tells me no touch is available for this display. Seems like a poor connection to me as well as I can't seem to find touch screen drivers. anyone have experience with this?

Recently I found out that my lenovo yoga 710-15ikb laptop doesnt support digitizer active pen technology. Its hidden in online talks and also frustration when you buy a $70 wacom bamboo ink pen to find that it doesnt work. I understand that most active pens wont work with my computer because the screen (and maybe motherboard) dont have a digitizer. However, I have been looking online and some retailers appear to be selling digitizer lcd screens for my specific model. My question is whether or not these retailers are selling aftermarket screens and if they are will the digitizer work once one is installed? Also, I have a lot of experience doing repair work, mainly with digital cameras and building my desktop, so the task of replacing my laptops screen is not a problem Im just unsure as to whether or not buying a new digitizer lcd screen will work. I dont want to spend money that I dont have to if it turns out that I am just being misled.

Thanks!

Lenovo ThinkPad Yoga S1, Windows 8.1The touchscreen stopped working, although the pen works. How can I fix it?

Answer:Touchscreen stopped working, ThinkPad Yoga

I have the same issue.  This first occurred back in May or June when it all of a sudden stopped responding to touch.  Additionally, the auto-rotation was disabled as well as the trackpad lock when the screen is bent all the way back.  I finally got around to sending it in last week and earlier this week I got it back with a factory image loaded onto the machine.  After booting up, the touchscreen was working perfectly fine as was the auto-rotation and trackpad lock.  I then proceeded to start installing Windows updates and after the last installation, I discovered that the screen had become unresponsive again!  To me, this indicates that some update had disabled the screen and indeed, under Device Manager, the HID-compliant touch screen is noted as being disconnected.  I'm not entirely sure how to reconnect the screen, so if anybody has suggestions that would be appreciated. On a separate note, I called Lenovo software support and after explaining the situation to the technician on the phone, he then told me that I would have to buy software warranty for them to fix it.  This is ridiculous!  Why should I have to pay Lenovo to fix a problem that stems from a probable incompatibiity of their own software/drivers with Windows updates?  And after I complained about this hypocrisy, he even had the gall to suggest to me to talk with a "computer-savvy friend" who might be able to help.  I spent a lot of money on this machin... Answer:Thinkpad Yoga - Touchscreen not working anymore

Hi,

Welcome to Lenovo Community Forums!

I?m sorry to hear that touchscreen of your ThinkPad Yoga stopped responding.

Open Device Manager in control panel. Look for the option Human Interface Device. Under Human Interface Device, look for HID-compliant device. Right click on this option and choose Disable and then re-enable the same.

If the above said didn?t help, it could possibly be a hardware issue. I?m sure the Lenovo technical support can be of great assistance.

Regards,
Mithun.

Hey all, Periodically, the touchscreen on my Yoga 2 11 up and stops working.  There are various levels of "not working"... first it might lose some sensitivity, then it will only complete certain actions (like, I will be able to scroll a bit on a page but not click something on the touchscreen), and finally it might just stop working all together.  I have a hunch that this may be related to a touchpad issue... occasionally when using the touchpad, the cursor will get "stuck" somewhere on the screen as though the screen is being touched at the same time, and it won't "release" until I do touch the touchscreen and jiggle the cursor around a little.  (BIZARRE.)  It does sometimes feel as though the touchpad and touchscreen are fighting with each other. I've seen some other threads, but I have not noticed this issue being tied to restarting, or to using USB devices, or to a system update (it came with Win 8.1) or to installing new software.  Quite frankly, I've been having this issue almost since I got the machine, but it was barely noticeable/rare at first and I didn't think much of it.  However, it has gotten progressively worse.  I am at my wits' end, especially because I can't see a pattern or predict when I will start having trouble.  The day before yesterday I was having trouble, then with no changes on my part, the touchscreen began working perfectly last night, and is fine this morning as well. Any input would be... First year, my Yoga's touchscreen was always working correctly, regardless of connected USB devices. Since some time, if I connect a device into USB 2.0 port, touchscreen gets immediately disabled, no more responding to any touch. In Device Manager, it is not showing any errors. I found a workaround that in Device Manager (HID Devices branch), touchscreen must be set Disabled, then Enabled and then it comes back online. But I know this action was never needed before. Do you have any solution for this? I think it began happening around the time when I started to use Yoga with barcode scanner Heron D-130. But the problem is now happening regadless of USB device, even with devices which were not impacting the touchscreen before. Perhaps not barcode scanner, but some Windows update caused this. Do you have any solution for this so touchscreen will keep working after another USB 2.0 device is connected?

There has been some information collected on the issue. It appears there is an incompatibility with the touchscreen driver (from Wacom) and the latest Windows 10 Creator Update.  This thread has indicated that Lenovo is aware of the issue, but is waiting for Microsoft to release a patch. I will not mark this topic solved until they provide a working solution. https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/Lenovo-Yoga-Series-Notebooks/Yoga-720-Touchscreen-Not-Functional-Wacom-...

Hello, I got my ThinkPad Yoga 15 about 2 weeks ago and all of a sudden the touchscreen stopped working today, so I rebooted but nothing happened. Windows doesn't recognize the Touchscreen HID Device anymore and reinstalling doesn't help. I think it's a hardware fault as the bottom middle of the screen heats up shortly after booting and the head spreads around the bottom half of the display (which wasn't the case before, when the Touchscreen still worked.)  I got the machine as an on-display from a store, it was refurbished and still has Lenovo warranty. My question is if this is covered by warranty. If not I would be very upset since this would be the second ThinkPad product in the last 2 years that broke shortly after buying and didn't get repaired.  Regards, Ken Hutchinson

HiHave been loving my Yoga 900 but the touchscreen has started acting up.  While it seems there are lots of issues with Yoga touchscreens I didn't find one quite like myne.I realised it works okay in laptop mode but as soon as the screen gets to about 100 to 120 degrees rotation - so before reaching the switch point to tablet mode - the touchscreen becomes unresponsive.  If rotate it back so it's 90 degrees or so then it starts working again.  If I boot with screen rotated then device manager has an exclamation mark for an I2C HID device, status says "This device cannot start. (Code 10) A request for the HID descriptor failed."  If boot with screen around 90 degrees then I see the touchscreen device running normally.Any ideas?I'm thinking maybe the ribbon cable could be the problem? How doable is opening up the display panel? Thanks for any thoughts!

Everytime I try to activate the Touchscreen Keyboard on my Yoga 13, it does not come up and the entire system hangs.  At that point the only way to get the system back up is a forced re-boot by pressing the power key for 10 seconds. I called Customer support but they told me it was a software issue and refused to even try to diagnose the problem. This is my first Lenovo computer and I am not pleased!

It did this on Win 8.1 as well when the screen resolution was set at 1080p instead of 1800p. However when it was at full res i had no problem. Anyone else come across this issue?

I upgraded my Yoga 13 to Windows 8.1 this afternoon and the touchpad was operating sluggishly.  On the forum it was suggested to download the updated drivers. After doing this I have lost the touchpad completely.  In the Control Panel -> Device manager the touchpad does not even exist. I spojke with Lenovo support and they are recommending a full reset of the laptop to factory settings, something I would like to avoid if at all possible. Has anyone had this issue?  Ideas on how to resolve short of a factor reset? Thanks.

Answer:Upgrade Yoga 13 to Windows 8.1 and now touchpad completely not working

Try opening a command-prompt and running "set devmgr_show_nonpresent_devices=1" then in the same command-prompt run "devmgmt.msc", select view, Show Hidden devices, and see if there is a "Lenovo Pointing Device" (Synaptics touchpad). Uninstall the device, reboot and re-install the touchpad software available from Lenovo's support web site.

After upgrading from windows 8.1 to Windows 10 touchscreen stopped working, audio isn't working, battery icon doesn't show on the taskbar, and that's the things that I've discovered till now. Solutions on the internet haven't worked, Asus doesn't have a driver update for it, Device Manager doesn't even show touchscreen.

I don't know if there is a solution for all this, or is it boding a bad experience and so I should roll back to Windows 8?

Boot into Setup (Bios) under Advanced or Integrated Peripherals. Look for Touch Screen or some such, if it is disabled, using your Arrow and Enter key Enable it.
Go to the Asus support/download drivers site, https://www.asus.com/us/search/results.aspx?SearchKey=%20transformer%20t100&SearchType=Products&Category=2-in-1-PCs&IsSupport=False&Page=1 find your model # and download any drivers you need from the Device Manager. I have just upgraded to Windows 10 on my U330t. All seems fine with the exception of the touchscreen which functions in Windows main system menus but no longer functions in Chrome or browsers. This would appear from general googling to have similarly affected other brands of laptop (HP etc) but I can find no posts regarding Lenovo machines. The general consensus seems to be that it must be a hardware manufacturers driver issue but I am at a loss as to which driver (if any) can be updated from the Lenovo website in order to resolve this issue. Am I best to do a One Key Recovery and go back to using the factory installed 8.1 until such driver issues are ironed out? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Nick

Then restart Windows 10 and let it reinstall the driver itself. ?

Several users have been griping about the keyboard of the Yoga 3 Pro. Also certain reviewers have lambasted it (e.g. Gizmodo). First, the physical side of it is lacking for the typical quality you expect from premium Lenovo laptops (e.g. Thinkpad). The keys do not travel much and it is easy to make mistakes -- I would say my typing errors have increased on the magnitude of 50% versus a X series Thinkpad (pre-chiclet keys). Second, and the main point of this post, is that several keys are either missing (e.g. Insert) or relegated to Fn key combinations (F1 through to F12, Home and End). Meanwhile, there is AMPLE room for more keys in this form factor. For example on X series Thinkpads, they had keys right up to the edge of the device, and were able to put in a full 2 rows of Ins/Del Home/End PgUp/PgDn, like on a full-sized keyboard. As a result, typing on this keyboard is a real pain both physically, and in software terms since certain OS functions ask you to press keys that don't exist (e.g. Insert on the pre-boot Bitlocker screen -- sorry no Insert key!). Certain common keyboard commands become awkward now because of needing to add in the extra Fn+ combination (e.g. ALT+F4 to close a program, or F5 to refresh a web page). But by far one of the most annoying features is co-locating Home with PgUp and End with PgDn, i.e. you need to press Fn+PgUp to get Home. Home/End is a very efficient mechanism in wordprocessing to quickly g... Hello everyone,I've been trying to use the Adonit Jot Pro stylus with my Yoga2 Pro, but I'm having very poor results. Most of the time when I try to draw, the Yoga recognizes it as if I'm trying to move around the screen and it doesn't draw at all. After updating to Windows 8.1 and encountering a number of problems, most of them were fixed after installing the latest drivers. However the Touchscreen problem persists where the calibration is completely off. If I tap on a link it won't click it but if I click on maybe an inch or so under the link it will. Is this another driver problem or is there a support tool to calibrate the touch screen?

Are you using Chrome? If so, it's a bug that will be fixed in the next update. The fix is currently live on the Chrome Beta channel so you can switch to that temporarily if you want it sooner, or just use IE11 in the meantime.

Hi, A few weeks after an otherwise successful update from 8.1 to Windows 10, my touchscreen is working improperly and mostly useless. Contacted support but they did not have a solution other than taking it to technician. I have noticed similar problems in other Lenovo products in the forums but did not see an applicable solution to the Yoga 11s. For now I have disabled the driver and am working from the keypad and mouse. Is there anything else I can do or should I revert back to Windows 8?

Hello I bought a Yoga X1 last year and it was working fine until about 3 weeks ago. For unknown reasons - possibly because of some Windows 10 update or because I installed a "nightly built" of the VLC video player the touchscreen stopped working. Windows 10 could not find a driver anymore (claiming that the driver it found is not suitable for this version of windows or womething like that). Same happened with the Lenovo driver for the device from the Lenovo website. I always hat the device marked yellow and "not working properly" in the device manager. I finally found in a forum aomeone pointing to a different driver for the Xoga X1's Wacom device and installed it. Now it shows up in the Device manager without Problems, but I still have no touch functionality. I deinstalled VLC alread and updated Win 10 again - still no luck. do I need some additional driver to connect the device that is recognized in the Device manager with Windows 10 somehow? Or activate it? I booted from a USB rescue stick for Win 10 and there the touch functionality was ok - so its not a hardware issue! Thank you.

Has anyone noticed the problem on Yoga 13? Once I plug in the device to the power adapter, the trackpad becomes less responsive. The problem is most noticeable during the one-finger tracking (for moving the mouse cursor around the screen). The cursor movement becomes jumpy, choppy, and laggy. It becomes simply uncomfortable and unpleasant to use. Interestingly, the problem immediately disappears once it is unplugged from the power adapter. I am trying to determine whether the issue is specific to this device or not. Edit: I noticed that the problem disappears if I place the computer on my lap. The problem comes back if I place it on my wooden desk, floor, or carpet (likely any surface that does not provide grounding for electricity). I verified that the problem is also reproduced when a different power adapter (for Yoga) is used. I am thinking of getting an exchange.

Hi everyone. My Thinkpad (Yoga 12.5, WINDOWS 10) screen acting strangely. It works, then touch function stops. It starts working again when I do enable/disable HID touchscreen in device manager. Works sometimes 10 minutes, sometimes an hour or more, then stops again. Power saving option is OFF on this device. Drivers are all updated to the latest through Lenovo driver update process.Since it is partially fixed by driver enable / disable function, I suspect it is software and not hardware issue, however can not pinpoint it. Other clues to solve this mistery: 1)It is plugged in (not on battery) 2) HID-compliant touch screen driver is Microsoft version (10.0.16299.15) Driver date 6/21/2006 (Maybe old?) I hope somebody can help.Thank you.

I have the Yoga 11S 4210Y Haswell. Everything has been fine until the latest set of windows updates on 6/10. There is a critical update that windows installs automatically. Once booted back up after the update, mu touchscreen did not work, mu USB ports did not work, and my SD Card slot did not work. I did  a restore point to before the update, and all worked fine. I tried to download those updates and install them again, thinking it was a bad install, and the exact same thing happened. So I once again reverted back to the good restore point, and everything worked, I installed the update again and had the exact same result. So now I have windows updates turned off completely. I looked at the updates and there were two things it was installing. It was installing a new "Microsoft printer update" and then a "Microsoft USB update to usbxhci.inf" At this point the problem is 100% reproducable. What is going on? Also, when the problem occurs, i get a Lenovo pop-up that says " #10engineinitializationfailed"

Happy holidays, all -I recently bought my girlfriend a Yoga 720 when they went on sale at Best Buy. She loves it, but the touch screen doesn't work at all. Per a few hours of research, I've discovered this is an issue that has been documented not only in this forum, but on Reddit and elsewhere, too:https://www.reddit.com/r/Lenovo/comments/73su16/lenovo_is_ignoring_a_big_issue_with_yoga720_13/https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_10-touch/lenovo-yoga-720-touch-screen-driv...https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/Lenovo-Yoga-Series-Notebooks/Yoga-720-Touchscreen-not-working/td-p/3880...It seems the Windows Creators Update messes with the Wacom driver. I can't seem to get it working. I've tried updating drivers from Lenovo and Wacom along with several other solutions. In the device manager, the Wacom Device has an alert on it reading "This device cannot start. Code 10. STATUS_DEVICE_DATA_ERROR." Has anyone found a better fix for this, yet? It seems insane Lenovo hasn't addressed it, and more so, tells users its a hardware problem when it clearly is not. Thank you for any help you can provide. I'm losing my mind trying to fix it and would hate to bring the laptop back!

Are there some drivers to install ?I think I went through all the drivers on the Acer support page but the touchscreen is still not working.

Answer:S7-392 - No touchscreen after Windows 10 upgrade

Go in the Control Panel > Device Manager > Human Interface Devices, and check if you have an HID compliant touchscreen item.If you do make sure there is no exclamation mark in front of it.Open it, does it say the device is working properly?if so, you can try to Uninstall it, then reboot, so that windows reinstalls the driver. If not, you can start by trying to update the driver from there.
