Yoga 3 11 SD card slot depth.

Question: Yoga 3 11 SD card slot depth.

How deep is the sd card slot in mm? Im looking for possible storage expansion options prior to purchasing.

Preferred Solution: Yoga 3 11 SD card slot depth.

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Answer: Yoga 3 11 SD card slot depth.

hi BradB111,

Welcome to the Forums.

From this specifications page, the Yoga 3 11 can take a 4-in-1 card reader (SD, MMC, SDXC, SDHC).

These SD cards have the following dimentions:
SD / SDXC / SDHC - 32.0×24.0×2.1 mm (1.260×0.945×0.083 in)
MMC - 32 × 24 × 1.4 mm

From the info above, the SD card slot likely have an additional 1mm in its dimension (33mm L x 25mm W x 3.1mm H).

I am waiting for my new Yoga 900. I read the so-called "full" SD Card slot is not 32mm deep as a standard SD Card. Can you confirm it is shorter? Is it 16mm deep like in the Yoga 2? Is there an adaptor for 128GB micro-SD that has the perfect size and been tried?

Answer:Yoga 900 SD Card slot

A standard SD card goes in only to 16mm, not the full 32mm depth.

I have a ThinkPad Yoga 14 with a EM7455 WWAN broadband card in the M.2 slot.  I can not for sure locate the SIM card slot so I can put in broadband provider sim (like one from T-Mobile or AT&T).  Documentation shows it on the back opposite the fans with a pin hole to pop out a SIM tray.  There is no slot on back of the case. I took the cover off the botton of the Yoga 14, which is where the M.2 slot is located.  At the back about where there should be a SIM card tray, there is a 8 contact SIM socket labeled SIM1 on the motherboard.  I am assuming this the cellular SIM card socket, but it will not take a micro-sim card.  It is to loose to hold it.  It looks like it needs a sim tray.Anyone have any experience with a ThinkPad Yoga 14 sim card or have a suggestion?  Photos of motherboard and sim slot below.    Thank you, Gerry          ??                                                                                          &... I just replaced my old laptop with a Toshiba Satellite CDO4 laptop. The SD card slot (Toshiba called it bridge media slot) is approx 20% shorter in length than the other brand (I had a Compaq CQ45 before). The width of the slot is the same with other brand.

When I insert the SD card with the adapter into the slot, I cannot insert the whole adapter fully into the
slot and I cannot hear a click or anything. Do not force the card in any further. Just leave it there.
Just be patient and wait for a while, it will work. The anti-virus
pops up and read the card and found no virus, I just close the anti-virus prompt and it is OK.

The PC has two memory stick slots which both work fine.

Hi all,  I'm contemplating making a MAJOR lifestyle change and converting from Mac to Windows and am seriously considering buying a yoga machine, but, I'm a little un certain about what model would be the right fit .  Right now I'm using a newer model Retina MacBook Pro and have most of my files backed up to a minidrive card that sits flush in the SD card slot of my laptop. I'm hoping that I will be able to take this out and plug it into a new Yoga so that it maintains a flush fit and dosen't stick out at all. HAving said that I was wondering if anyone in the community could help me out and offer an estimate or exact measurement onthe depth of thier  SD ports. I'm thinking about getting a Yoga 2 or 3 Pro but any input is greatly appreciated.   Thanks!!

New year, new Yogas. How does Lenovo?s Yoga 910 stack up against last year?s Yoga 900? Let?s find out.Hardware & Design The Yoga 910 looks very similar to the Yoga 900. They both have the same dimensions, which means that my sleeve for the Yoga 900 fits the Yoga 910 perfectly. The Yoga 910 is a bit heavier because of its all-metal unibody design. Last year?s Yoga 900 had a magnesium alloy casing, and a rubber-like material inside the chassis. With the Yoga 910, the entire chassis is metal. That gives it a more premium look and feel.  Even though the hinges on the Yoga 900 and Yoga 910 look nearly identical, the Yoga 910?s hinges are much more sturdier than the Yoga 900?s. This means that there?s less wobble when typing on the keyboard or touching the screen. Take a look at the difference:  There?s also the addition of a fingerprint reader, which is always great to have. It?s quick and responsive, and always recognized my fingerprint. PortsThis year?s Yoga 910 is focused mainly on USB C. There are two USB C ports, one USB A port, and a headphone/microphone jack combo. Last year?s Yoga 900 had two USB A ports, one USB C, SD card reader, and mini-HDMI. Because of the move to USB C, you?ll need a USB C to SD card reader or USB C to HDMI adapter if you?re looking for those functionalities.   DisplayThe Yoga 910?s display is larger, crispier, and brighter than last year?s display. Even though both ... Read more

Disclosure: Lenovo Yoga 910 as part of the Lenovo INsiders program. All opinions are my own. The Yoga 910 refines essentially every flaw on last year's Yoga 900; with a drastically better keyboard and trackpad, larger display, smaller bezels, and much better battery life. Even though the Yoga 910 is 13.9" (almost an inch larger), it is the same exact size as the Yoga 900, meaning the sleeve for my Yoga 900 fits the Yoga 910 perfectly.  Design- Just like last year's Yoga 900; the Yoga 910 has the same beautiful watchband hinge. The Yoga 910's hinge is actually much sturdier than the Yoga 900's hinge; which means that moving the display has much less wobble. This year though, the entire machine is made of metal. The sides are made of shiny, chrome metal, and the inside is covered with the all-metal unibody design. Resting my arms on the metal chassis feels great, since it's cool to the touch. Don't worry about the metal scratching; there's no scratches during the time I used it, and it's been carried in a backpack with a laptop slot. Also, the fingerprint sensor is super fast and responsive, awesome add-on.  Performance- It's got the Intel Core i7-7500U processor, up to 16GB RAM and up to 1TB PCIe storage. It's as top of the line as any ultrabook this range gets. It zips through whatever I throw at it. I edited multiple videos on it, and noticed no glitching or stuttering. I was able to stream YouTube while rendering a video, and even though the fans ki... Read more

Hello, I have just gotten a T61P with a Smart Card Slot.  Is it possible to replace this with an Express Card Slot? I have looked at the parts lists and can see no differences in Motherboard or Bottom Case part numbers for a 6457-8LU ( which I have, and has a Smart Card Slot ) and a 6457-8Jx ( which has an Express Card Slot ). Looking at the FRU Manual, it looks like an involved process to get to the Card Slot, but I think I could handle it.  ( Electronics Tech for more years than I like to think about  :-)  ) Any input would be appreciated! Regards Michael

So far what i have read is PCI card type II are different from Express card. I just need to know what my machine supports, a 54mm card or 34 mm card, 16 bit or 32 bit, i just don't know, i need to buy an adapter for esata interface to connect my NAS via esata to my laptop for greater speeds.

Answer:Re: Satellite M60-104 PCI card Slot or Express Card Slot?

Did you take a look into the user manual?
There are all the details about the M60 series.

But as far as I know the M60-104 unit supports the Cardbus 32-Bit/PC-Card 16-Bit slot.
So you could use 1x PCMCIA Type-II only and 1x ExpressCard.

Answer:Question about PCI-e slot below dual slot video card

My opinion ...

Yes, setting up like that will have an impact. The air flow to your GPU will be restricted so it will more than likely run hotter than it did. It may still stay withing recommended specs, but it will run hotter.

The motherboard has onboard sound (Realtek® ALC892 8-Channel High Definition Audio CODEC ), any particular reason why you don't use that? Onboard sound is perfectly good for gaming and the like now, its not like older machines where you needed a dedicated card for decent quality. In my opinion, you only need a dedicated card if you are doing a lot of detailed audio work (mixing, remastering and other specific audio work). This would totally remove the issue.

hi there,
i need to know which know which graphic card will fit for my computer. Ie i want to know which type: DDR ,DDR1 or ddr2 i bought my computer in 2007, but thats not enough to tell.
so please let me know how do i know which pci slot i have?

Answer:which graphic card slot do i require for my PCI slot

The type of memory doesn't matter, its the type of interface the computer supports among a few other things to watch for.

You likely have a PCI-Express slot, as long as it a x16 slot it doesn't really matter if its a version 1.1 or 2.0 slot.

Is this for your Dell or another computer? Whats you budget and what needs do you have for the video card?

Actually its a bit more serious than that.

I replaced my motherboard and CPU and with the new system it would crash with an access violation in Run32.dll and the mouse would stop working (and an access violation in Kernel32.dll would often follow) if the colour depth was changed, either manually or by an application.
Changing colour depth immediately after starting Win98 would usually work, though.
Win2000 (dual boots both) was rock solid, so I wasn't too concerned.

Turning AGP 4x on was a big no-no. Instant crashes in any game except Unreal engine powered games.

This was about 6 months ago.
Recently it's been going downhill.
I noticed games would crash after only a short period, even under Win2000 (except for UT and kin).
Then it started crashing playing DVD movies. Disabling hardware acceleration in the DVD player fixed the problem. (this affects both Win98 & Win2000)

Then worse - viewing web pages caused crashes - but only in Win98. Flash animations caused instant crashes, but it also would lock up occasionally when viewing pics on a web page. Experiments have shown that viewing any format of picture through any software application at all will lead to a complete system lock-up sooner or later.
Win2000 still views web pages and pics without any probs.

Viewing AVI, MPEGs, etc is also a bad idea under Win98 - except for Quicktime for some odd reason.

I came to the logical conclusion the video card was knackered, but a replacement has made absolutely no di... Read more

Hi, I've got a Thinkpad Yoga with the built in 128gb SSD, and have been thinking about upgrading the storage. As it came with the 128gb SSD from the factory, I'm assuming the M2 slot will be free... Does anyone know what the specifications of the M2 slot are, or if it is usable for a non-caching drive? I'd love to put in a 512gb M2 SSD for my additional storage needs - it would just complete what I see as an otherwise perfect device. Obviously if this is not possible, I will simply replace and clone the existing SSD, but if I can avoid that it'd be ideal. Thanks!

The new generation of fast SD cards called USH-II has a second row of contacts.  While much faster download speeds are possible, the hardware and bus must support this standard.  While UHS-I cards can be used, UHS-II cards are potentially much slower in UHS-I slots. Does the Yoga 3 - or any Lenovo laptop - support UHS-II SD cards at this time? If they don't the workaround is to use a USB 3.0 card reader with a UHS-II slot.  The card readers run around $40.  Older card readeer are usually UHS-I.

Uninstall drivers and instead of installing drivers from the Lenovo website, just reboot windows and let windows handle the installation. See if that helps. Also check device manager to make sure there are no warnings on that specific device. Also check the SD card..make sure it is not in the "Locked" position. The reader would not be able to read it if it is locked.

Hi all, I've just taken ownership of the ThinkPad Yoga 370 and suspect that the Micro SD slot is faulty.  Basically, the card gets sticker into the slot once pushed in and it'll take a long time to slowly pull out the card from the slot. Also, the notebook doesn't detect the card when it's in.  Im pretty sure I got the right side of the card into the slot.  Can anyone confirm if the slot is suppose to eject the card with a "spring" motion? Cause I don't have that, that's why it's sticker.

For quite a long time I've been planning to buy the Yoga 720. However, I don't have money to buy anything but the base model. Even though only 8gb of ram doesn't bother me too much at the moment, I would like to upgrade eventually down the line. A sales representative has shown me the PSREF. Through checking there, I seem to find that the only models with an extra slot are the ones that come with 16gb of ram (8gb soldered and an extra slot filled with 8gb stick). Does that mean that the model: 80X7001WUS  has only 8gb soldered in without room for upgradeability?  Thanks for any information.

Answer:Does the yoga 720 have an extra ram slot on the base model?

Hello and welcome,

If you scroll down the page you linked and expand specifications you'll find a link to the base spec.  The way I read it they all have a RAM slot which may or may not be occupied depending on specific MT-M.

That said, I have no personal experience with this model.  This is based on what I read below.

Can't find propper card reader driver for my laptop. Please help to find!!!
Toshiba Satellite P200d-12z (bought in Sweden)

I tried to istall the following drivers/software from Toshiba official website:

-Flash Cards Support Utility
-Flash Media Driver
-SD Utilities

But it doesnt work anyway, cannt recognized my microSD anyway.
What should I do/install?

PLEASE HELP!!!!

Answer:Satellite P200D-12z - Card Reader driver needed - SD card slot issue

Did you install a generic version of Windows? You need to install the AMD chipset driver first, so other PCI devices can install properly.

What is the size capacity of the SD Card?
Are you running XP? You may need to install Service Pack 3, or a Microsoft hotfix for SDHC support.

Lately, My laptop is very slow in recognizing my usb stick, or my Hard drive (usb 3.0) or my sxs cards through my express card slot. It 's also slow in recognizing my sd-cards through my card reader. I have a very fast laptop. A lenovo W530.

I just started a while ago, and I can't get it to recognize faster . Everything else works just fine and fast.... but it takes up to 4 minutes to recognize these things.

Can somebody help?

Answer:Laptop slowly recognizes usb stick/sd card/xpress card slot

Hey tidri. 2 things come to mind if it previously worked. One is a reinstall of all the drivers for the mobo, and the other is a full AV/Malware/Rootkit scan. If everything checks out, a full format and an OS reinstall would be my third move.

I have thinkpad w530 w windows 8.1 I am trying to capture video footage into my computer using a firewire card that of course plugs into the MEDIA CARD READER SLOT. I can't get the computer to recognize my camcorder- the camcorder connection does not show up in DEVICE MANAGER I am using HDVSPLIT to capture the video and also in hdvsplit there is a message, "camera not recognized" or something like that.  I am not sure if the media card reader is bad, or maybe the firewire card is bad or maybe it is the hdv split that is the problem? Any help will be greatly appreciated!

Answer:How do I tell if my Media Card Reader/Express card slot is functioning correctly?

Hello,

Could it be the ExpressCard slot that the FireWire card plugs into?  I've never seen a FireWire card that plugs into the media card slot used for SD Cards.

FireWire cards can be a little tricky to get working sometimes, especially when interfacing with a camcorder.

Have you checked with the manufacturer to see if Windows 8.1 drivers are available for it?  Even if they are not, it may be possible to use Windows 7 or even Windows Vista drivers.

Once you have verified that the FireWire card is recognized, plug the camcorder in again, amd see if it gets recognized.  If it does not, check with its manufacturer for Windows 8.1 drivers, just like you did with the FireWire card.

At that point, the hardware should all be working with Windows 8.1.

Regards,

Hi,

I have read the rather thin manual, and I can;t find any info on the card slot. (other than where it lives on the laptop)

Could someone please tell me how to insert my smart media card? the slot is huge and i'm worried about losing the card inside the laptop! I'm presuming the smart media will auto run?...

Thanks in advance!

Answer:Satellite P200-1FZ: How to insert the smart media card into the card slot

Would be nice to know what notebook model you own.
But, normally, for smaller cards, you will need an adapter which is often included, like for the memory stick pro duo.
I think it is just normal sized and you have to put in the middle of the card reader slot until you hear a click sound.

If you have not changed autorun settings, you should get a new window with the files on your card, when putting it into your notebook.

Answer:Satellite L30 - How to open the Wireless card slot to upgrade the Wlan card

Hm,

there is no special way. Just 2 screws..
So, if you have a mini-pci wlan card, then you can open the cover, insert it and use it. But be aware from loosen more screws than needed. :)

And if you?re not able to open it, then you will have to use your annoying usb-adapter. ;)

We are upgrading to the T410 from previous T series Lenovo's. Our users are finding their Verizon PC Express Cards don't really "lock" into the slot. And slight touch or bump while using the laptop and the card slides out enough to show it as being removed in windows. Users are resulting to taping the cards to keep them in place. Dear community,  I've just bought a Yoga 500, which seems to be a very nice tablet/notebook. However, my old (standard) Kensington locks simply don't work! These are the classic T-head locks. The key cannot be turned. I've just tried a HP UltraSlim lock, which has a different type of head, but it is also unusable, the lock cannot be activated (the push button cannot be pushed in enough to activate the lock)This is the cable:https://i5.walmartimages.com/asr/0cfc8a3d-0bb2-4d44-af95-b33fe239cb57_1.9f1eb857864400ee8fe2a7435274...  Is there a compatible security cable for this machine at all? Thanks in advance!

Okay, I did something really stupid. It was late, I was in the dark, and I wasn't paying attention (obviously) so here's what happened...

I had a SanDisk 2GB Micro SD Memory Card that I was using in my cell phone.
I wanted to transfer some pics & photos from my computer to the phone, so I decided to stick it in the Express Card slot of my laptop. Simple enough, right?

....Well being the incredibly smart person that I am, I put the micro memory card in the adapter, but it was the wrong one. So my computer pretty much swallowed it whole. I can't get it back out.
Now I can't use the Express Card slot in my computer AT ALL, because the old one is still stuck in there. You can't really see it, but if you try to put another adapter in there, it won't "click". It won't go all the way because ... the old one I lost is still in there waiting to be rescued, haha.

So my question is: How do I get the memory card out of my computer??

I tried taking it apart, but I couldn't get the part of where the express card slot is, so that was no good. There's a way to do this, I know. I'm just not smart enough to figure it out on my own. Which is probably a good thing, because I might mess it up again, lol.

I have a Toshiba Satellite A215-S7416 laptop.
Any help is appreciated!

Thanks!

-Ashley

Hey everybody, I'm new to this community. I just got an E520. I already read the thread about this graphic card problem. So I was wondering if there is something new about this graphic card? I updated my system via the Thinkpad update program. Should i update the AMD driver? The current driver version is: 8.811.1.5000 I can config and load the ATI control panel but when i go to config the screen and choose the display resolution i also can click on extended setup. when going into this area only the Intel HD graphic card is selected, not anything about the ATI. with which program can i control which graphic card is currently running?i know i can also just choose one graphic card in bios, but i want both cards are working.so is there a possibility that i can just deactivate the ati graphic card when using battery mode? How can i open the express card slot at the right side?I couldn't find a button or something to press to release the plastic so i can insert a 34mm express card. And the last question, when i booted the computer for the first time i saw that in the task manager are about 100 processes, that doesn't seem normal. I mean i know there are a lot of Lenovos own software working in the background, but on my old device i had about 50 to max 70 process running. When i open the task manager i don't even see all process which are running, the task manager only lists about 40-50 processes not more. any solutionwhich proces... Answer:E520 Graphic card + express card slot + too many processes

hey Munchkin86,-AMD driver, install the latest one one if the current version which you have on your unit is causing issues.-The E520 comes with Intel HD Graphic card and thus the ATI Control Panel will not work accordingly.- for the express card slot, just press it and the plastic holder should pop out. Also, refer to this : http://download.lenovo.com/ibmdl/pub/pc/pccbbs/mobiles_pdf/0a60536.pdf- on the part of the processes, depending on the OS, software and drivers installed, having 100+ or so processes is possible. Rule of thumb, if it does not affect the performance of your unit; leave it alone.

Hi,I'm interested in buying this Lexar 133x SDHC Card:http://lexarmedia.com/products/lexar-professional-133x-sdhc-card?category=213Basicallyl, I want to use it as another storage drive (as opposed to putting in my camera or other device).  So after I insert it, I want to be able to format it and use it as another storage area.  Would this card work? The reason I'm gravitating to that card is that is that I see in the specs that is minimum 20MB/sec read transfer rate and it does not take up one of my USB slots. However, even if it does work, would I be better off with their Echo ZX plug-and-forget it USB drive when they ship it?:http://lexarmedia.com/products/lexar-echo-zx-backup-drive-0?category=90If both work, which would be faster as a storage drive? Thanks.

Answer:Would this storage card work in the Media Card slot of my W700?

It is a SDHC card so it should work on the card reader of the W700.

Hello,

I´m a Satellite 2450-201 owner and I have a big problem.
I just bought a 4GB SD memory card and nice, it fits on the side slot on my notebook.

It's the first time using the memory card, so a needs-to-format window appears when I try to access.

The Window has the right information : 3.78Gb, Fat32, ...

I Click "OK" and the Windows (XP SP2) informs : cannot complete format (here is portuguese, so it's translated to english)

If the right size is informed , 3.78Gb, why the Windows cannot format ?

My notebook is spyware and virus free (just 23 tasks running and under control), I Have SP2, Bios 1.50 (newer), My SD controller drivers is up-to-date (the last and the only one was released in 2003).

Also tried third party "Panasonic SDFormatter 2.0". It's reporting the unit (hardware) or the mem stick SD is not compatible with the program. And the same effect happens : the Sd unit lost the nice icon and I need to remove/insert the SD to see the same story again.

Help me please, friends.

Answer:Satellite 2450-201: Cannot format 4GB card in SD card slot

Hi

It?s very strange that you?re possible to see the SD card after plug-in. some people has suggested that this SD card slot supports only 256MB, 512MB cards and additionally with no MMC support.

I don?t know if you have ?Toshiba SD card format utility? installed on the laptop but on many Tosh notebooks such utility is preinstalled and could be used for the card formatting.

According to some posting in this forum the format utility of Port?g? M400 could handle the 2GB SD cards but not sure about 4GB.
If possible you could try to install this utility on your notebook but you know you have not big chances that this will work.

I think in such case only a external SD card reader will help you.

Hi. I have recently aquired a very old computer (8-9 years old). I am looking at replacing the old agp graphics card because it is not working properly and then sell the computer for quite a low price. Any way.

I have looked in the case and took the card out and I belive that the graphics card slot is agp 2x. The card has two slots in it leading me to belive that it is a universal 1.5v 3.3v card. I am just wondering what cards my computer would accept and whether a 4x card would work ok in a 2x card slot.

Any help apreciated.

This is a bit complicated. I have a slightly older motherboard, and it still has a PCI card slot. But I need a graphics card (I play WoW) and there aren't any good PCI graphics cards. The only ones that I can find are PCIe. I have seen adapters that could resolve this issue, maybe, but I'm in no way a computer tech and I'm a little confused as to if and how that works. It's a homebuilt computer that my brother did up for me. Currently, I have a riser in there, since the case design requires it. So I guess my question is three-fold.Is there a PCI to PCIe riser (as in a riser that plugs into a PCI slot, but allows me the use of PCIe cards)? How well does a PCI to PCIe adapter work with graphics cards?Would it be better to just get a new motherboard with the right slots?

Answer:PCI card slot and buying a graphics card

A PCIe to PCI riser card doesn't really exist to do what you want.  I've seen PCI to PCI-E x1 adapters, however these require modifying to work with graphics cards as they are typically PCI-E X16, and thus larger than an X1 slot.  I wouldn't recommend going down this route as additionally, the PCI interface will choke any semi modern graphics card due to its low bandwidth and outdated design. The issue I see, is that it sounds like you have an oddball case if you need a riser card, so will a newer motherboard fit?  And, if your board is old enough to have no PCI-E slots, is the rest of your system up to spec to make a new graphics card worthwhile at all?If you could give us a little more information about your computer, we can see what would be the best option for you.

The fan still works but the computer will no longer recognize the card. I don't want to buy a new agp card if it is possible that something on my mother board quit working. Is there anyway to test the slot or card, I don't have a second computer to test the card. I didn't know if slots themselves could go bad. Should I buy a new agp card or try a pci card, I do have an available pci slot.

Answer:agp graphics card crashed - is it card or slot

Have you tried deleting the driver for the card then rebooting the PC? This will then reload the driver if it detects the card. You could also take out the card after deleting the driver, make sure the connector isn't corroded or some -such and the slot is clear of fluff etc. Then repace and reboot.

Always try the easy things and the cheapest things first.

A PCI-E card will not fit into a PCI slot. Your friend must have a really old computer. You cannot get agp or pci cards that are "better" than modern PCI cards. Tell your friend to buy a new motherboard.

Question: Sd Card Slot!

ordered a new 2.0GB PQI SD Card last week and got it today. I put it in my laptop drive, and booted up my computer. I clicked My Computer and saw it labeled as E: Drive. I clicked it and it wanted me to Format the card. I formatted it as FAT because it kept failing when writing to Fat32 (which I later discovered the card cant handle Fat32). So Afterwards, I rebooted, then reclicked My Computer, and reclicked drive E:. When I did so, my computer instantly froze! I could only move the mouse and minimize and close that screen. THats. I CTRL+Alt+Del and closed My Computer and My documents (mysteriously opened without me knowing).

So I continued this same process 4 times, and if I let it keep going without control alt deleting, then it says "The file is corrupt or Unreadable. ???!
Now I am guessing that my generic SD drive needs updates. But am afraid of screwing something up so I wont try. I figured that the card was locked or something, but I tried it in 2 different positions, and the same result.
I actually dont own a digital Camera... yes I know "Im in the Dark ages" but the card doesnt have a thing on it! It is totally new and bare. Is there a computer utility that I can use to reformat the card? or something?

I want to buy a Mobile Broadband Modem but I am really confused which one of the following is compatible with my X61 Tablet PC card slot. Please Help this is urgent  1.PC300 PC Card http://www.sonyericsson.com/cws/products/pccards/overview/pc300?lc=en&cc=pk OR 2.EC400EC400 Mobile Broadband ExpressCardhttp://www.sonyericsson.com/cws/products/pccards/overview/ec400?lc=en&cc=pk

NAB

Answer:Which PC card SLOT?

According to the PSREF, the X61 Tablet has "One Type I or one Type II, CardBus Plus (34mm ExpressCard via adapter)." In this case you would want the PC Card. Now if you have the ExpressCard/34 adapter for your tablet, you can use the ExpressCard one you linked. And that would be a better buy considering all new notebooks have ExpressCard slots and if you upgraded in a year or two, the card would still be usable. On the other hand, in a year or two, that card may be obsolete for WWAN access. Hope this helps

I need a new graphics card.My Mobo is an Asus P4S8x.While browsing through my BIOS settings(with a deep look of Puzzlement)I noticed I can set my Primary VGA BIOS to AGP or PCI.
Does that mean I could use a PCI-Express card? And if so would there be any advantage over using the AGPslot which is8X??

Answer:Use AGP or PCI slot for card?

No. You can use AGP or PCI (not PCI express).

Question: sd card slot

My sd card slot has worked fine on my 4 different sd cards since 8 came out, but suddenly all cards are read only (and work fine on other computer). So I believe it is a card reader hard/soft problem.... Any thoughts? Thanks

Couple of quick questions regarding the S12 ION Sim-card slot: When I go into Device Manager, I do not see anything that appears to be related to the Sim-card slot, will it appear when/if I insert a sim-card?What functionality does it support? Mobile broadband? Dial-up? Voice-calls? (I've not got a mobile broadband (or any other kind of) sim to test it with)

Answer:Sim card slot in S12 ION...

Hi and a happy new Year 2010...

Answer is short.. has no function.. no device...its a dummy slot  ..not prepared for WWAN & no extra 3G antenna factory installed ...

Thats normal most brands produce ... one cover for all version... with 3G or no 3G installed...

Hi, I only noticed after buying my U31-70 that the SD card slot depth is not enough to accommodate the SD card completely. Can you recomend an adapter that you already know that fits? Thanks, Ricardo

Answer:U31-70 SD card slot

Hi Ricardo ,

Welcome to the Community Forums.

Checking on your pc card media support: (page 7)

Media reader : 4-in-1 reader (SD, SDHC, SDXC, MMC)

Your computer supports the following types of memory cards:? Secure Digital (SD) card? Secure Digital High Capacity (SDHC) card? Secure Digital eXtended Capacity (SDXC) card? MultiMediaCard (MMC)

Depending on the media card your using , some would appear to fit but is shallow for a different card.
USB media card readers / adapter can be use to  fix the problem.

Can you check back with us on the Card label  so we can check on the type of card and compatible adapter to use.

Regards

Question: agp slot or card?

have an old xp2000,512 pc 2100, epox ep8kha board, pny ti4200 vid. my daughter uses it for online games. runs fine 99% of the time. randomly screen goes black. monitor light goes yellow computer doesn't shut down. reboot and will run for a while and do it again. tried an old agp ati 7000 card ran a couple of days then did it again. pretty much convinced it's the agp slot. is there any way to make it live again?

Answer:agp slot or card?

Check the capacitors on the motherboard. Around that era of ePox motherboards, there was a big capacitor scandal overseas, and many motherboard manufacturers mistakenly used inferior capacitors, which were prone to failure. I had to replace the caps on my 8rda+ and a few others as well. They're the little 'towers' on the motherboard, and if the tops of them are bulging, then they're no good. Here's a good picture to show the difference. Check all the capacitors on the board, they're probably scattered about in different places.

Other than that, if you really think it's the slot, then there's no real way to fix it, unless you can see a faulty connection somewhere. Socket A motherboards should be pretty cheap by now, or you might want to consider upgrading the whole thing.

Hey guys,
I seem to be a bit confused on something. Will a 4x AGP Ti4600 work in an 8x slot on a new mobo I'm considering? I'm just wondering cause I thought the voltage was different...The mobo I'm looking at is cheap, but I have to go cheap... http://www.pcchipsusa.com/prod-m848aluv21.asp

Answer:4x card in 8x Slot

the 8X AGP slots are backward comapitable with 4X. but I would think twice before buying anything from PC chips.

Without thinking I ordered a gigabyte ati 9550 video card for my sisters computer I built for here last year. It has a msi km2m comb L. It has onboard video but does have a 4x agp slot. From what I understand the msi has a version 2.0 slot and the card I bought is a 3.0. I read that the voltage is different. I have also read that the 3.0 is backward comptable and will work with 1.5v and the 0.8volt. Has anyone used a 8x card in a 4x slot. I hope it will work, if not I have a spare video card! thanks for any help sm.

Answer:agp 8x card in a 4x slot

I have. I used my 9500 Pro in a 4x agp slot on my Soyo MB,

Question: sd card slot

I have a new Lenovo Ideapad Z580.  Getting used to Windows 8 is the biggest challenge but the place for the sd card has something covering it.  Does that mean I do not have an sd card slot?

Answer:sd card slot

maryb65 wrote:I have a new Lenovo Ideapad Z580.  Getting used to Windows 8 is the biggest challenge but the place for the sd card has something covering it.  Does that mean I do not have an sd card slot? That might be the dummy card. If it is, just push it inward until you hear a click and release. You should now be able to remove and replace it with an sd card. Refer to your user's guide.

I found this Lexar 8GB Express Card and was wondering if anyone knew wheather it worked in the PCI Card slot on a T42 2378-DTU laptop? http://www.computerworld.com/action/article.do?command=viewArticleBasic&articleId=9024981 As I understood before the slot was for modems and such. Is the Express Card Slot only a new feature?
