Lenovo Yoga Bluetooth connection problem

Question: Lenovo Yoga Bluetooth connection problem

Hi I have connected the microsoft wedge mouse and a bluetooth headset to my yoga. I am having the following problems 1, Mouse - at certain times the mouse icon start flashing and moving around haphazardly - as i move the mouse the mouse icon moves very irregularly as if there is interferance between transmission of laptop and mouse - this last for a few seconds and then returns back to normal2, Bluetooth audio - whilst playing a video on youtube the mouse cuts for half to 1 sec at various points. This does not happen with laptop speakers. I tried uninstalling the bluetooth drivers as it was suggested, yet this did not solve the issue. Hope this issue can be solved Ken

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Answer: Lenovo Yoga Bluetooth connection problem

I started having a similar issue when I installed the latest Wifi/BT driver. Even after I rolled back to the older driver, something had changed. I no longer am able to use my BT Creative D100 speakers as it causes my BT mouse to act up (similar symptoms you are having; but my mouse never stabilized). In addition, my USB3 Ethernet adapter no longer automatically switches back to Wifi when I unplug it (I have to manually reconnect to my wireless router). I very much regret installing the new drivers. Before that, my Yoga 13 was very solid/stable.

Purchased a Yoga 2 Pro a month ago.Noticed when connecting to a bluetooth 3.0 Wireless headset, the signal is relatively weak and intermittently interrupted when walking away from the computer. Wondering is this an isolated issue to a unit?Has anyone tried to connect Yoga 2 Pro with any bluetooth 3.0 Wireless headset? Is it working ok? Thx.

Hi guys, I had a Yoga Pro 2 but I got it replaced by Lenovo under warranty because it was having some major major issues. They sent me a Yoga 900 and I am already noticing problems with its connection to my bluetooth mouse. I used this same bluetooth mouse on my Yoga Pro 2 and it always connected fine without any problems at all but with my Yoga 900 it seems that the mouse will be connected for 5 minutes max and then the Yoga 900 will no longer recognize the mouse. Any help is appreciated, this is very frustrating and I have had been having a lot of problems with Lenovo's devices. Their warranty is great but I am getting tired of so many problems for such expensive machines.

Similar problem here.  Yoga 900 just a couple of months old, and I decided to try a bluetooth mouse.  It connected and worked just fine for a couple of minutes and then stopped.  Windows still says the mouse is paired and connected, but it doesnt work.  Turn bluetooth off, turn mouse off, remove mouse from bluetooth devices, re pair mouse and it works for a couple of minutes and then stops.  Lather, rinse, repeat.  I'm hoping this is a Windows problem and not a Lenovo problem, but if anyone finds a solution I would love to hear it.

Hi Guys,I know this issue has been discussed in other threadsI wanted to be sure! My Lenovo Yoga 2 Pro Bluetooth device works in general, though sometimes - out of nowhere - it stops working.I go to the device manager and I see that there's an exclamation mark next to the BT Radio device.after I restart the computer or delete - refresh the device manager, the device get back to function as expected. I have this issue since day 1 of the laptop. both on Windows 8.1 and Windows 10 and I tried like 4 different driver versions from Lenovo's website. I also installed the latest chipset drivers is my problem hardware or software related?should I take my desktop to Lenovo's lab?

I have a Yoga 13 (Windows 8) and a Lenovo Thinkpad Bluetooth keyboard.  The keyboard disconnects from the computer every few minutes.  Sometimes it reconnects on its own after 30 seconds or so.  Sometimes it needs to be restarted and sometimes it won't reconnect for several minutes despite numerous restarts. I have replaced the keyboard.  The new keyboard behaves exactly the same way.I have replaced the wireless card.  No improvement. It is possible that the new wireless card is also defective. I have tried to update drivers, although the drivers for the keyboard still seem to be dated June 2006, which seems an awfully long time ago. Any ideas?  Lenovo seems stumped (or just does not want to help diagnose the problem).  I do have onsite service.

When I am using my bluetooth connection on my Yoga 3 Pro and typing at the same time the connection drops off constantly. I can only assume that the bluetooth antenna is right below my hands. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to fix this? I would really prefer to not have another USB device sticking out of the tablet while I am using it. I have already had to add a WiFi USB device to extend the poor range of the WiFi card that came from the factory. It really defeats the purpose of this device being so portable. This seems like a pretty big design flaw. Thanks!

I have the same problem.I found that if I rest my hand on the right of the touchpad then the bluetooth connection to the speakers breaks.

Recently there was a Wifi Driver issue, which got resolved when the service guy came and replaced it, 6-8 weeks ago. After that my Wifi works fine but has a bit of a performance issue - It takes some time to identify Wifi Networks. If I switch on my bluetooth, the wifi performance degrades more, i.e. more time to identify network and the speeds of download/upload deteriorates a lot (A video in Youtube 720p quality is brought down to 144p).In addition it seems to take a lot of time for my bluetooth to identify a device. Does the Wifi and Bluetooth share the antennas? If so does this mean the antenna have a problem now?Is there a way to troubleshoot this? maybe by checking speed on Wifi and bluetooth.

I have a Yoga 11S running Windows 10.  My keyboard and mouse are both bluetooth and working fine.  I have an adaptor for my Bose audio speaker wich pairs fine but the audio is very unstable.  When I pair my Android phone with the same adaptor it works fine.  I have checked the adaptor on other Bose devices and it works fine.  It's my Lenovo.  I've checked all the drivers I can think of.  Any suggestions?

Answer:Yoga 11s - Unstable Bluetooth Audio connection

Hello Rebeck16!

It is possible that the bluetooth device is going to sleep occasionally to save power.

Try opening Device Manager, find your bluetooth device (On my Lenovo, it is a Broadcom bluetooth module. Yours may be an Intel). Right click to go to the device properties. Under the last tab, uncheck "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power" and hit OK.

Hi.I've been lurking for a bit and have had most of my questions answered and issues solved bythis fine community. Thank you!My problem is that I can add my bt headphones (I've tried two different sets) in the "add device"option, but once I shut the bt device (headphones in my case) off and then turn them back onagain the sound continues to come from the tablet or stereo speakers (which ever I'm using atthe time) and the sound won't switch to the bt headphones automatically. I must manually go theSound settings in Control Panel options and select the bt headphone to use them again. As ofright now I've got a shortcut to the Sound options on my desktop. Now this isn't a deal breaker forme, but there's got to be an easier way! LOLS!Any suggestions? Thanks! And for the record I have no wifi issues and I've upgraded to 8 gigs of ram so I'm keeping this!!!

I haven't tried using a Bluetooth headset with Windows, but check: 1.  Right-click on the sound tray icon, select Playback devices.  Does it show a 2nd bluetooth headset device in addition to Speakers?  If so, left-click on it and try the "Set Default" dropown menu on the bottom to make it the Default device (or some other option that works better). 2.  http://support.microsoft.com/kb/933144 3.  http://www.computing.net/answers/hardware/making-bluetooth-headset-default-audio-device/87178.html

Hi all. Nice to meet you. I have a Lenovo Yoga 720 and am noticing two issues.  First, whenever I am on Wifi, my connection will occasionally drop and restart. It is becoming a challenge especially during Skype calls and even simple tasks like browsing. My wifi appears to be OK because I have another PC and Mac that does not have any connectivity issues. Is there something I can do investigate and solve this issues? Moreover, I have connected my Microsoft Sculpt Mouse which had worked great on another PC's. While I can connect it with my Yoga, the connection frequently drops and takes a couple of seconds to re-establish itself. If anything, these issues have become a pain. Any suggestions/ideas on how to rectify the situation would be greatly appreciated!

Hi all,I used to stream music from my lenovo yoga to this wireless speaker. After many months of good working, this connection doesn't work anymore. In windows 10, through the bluetooth device window, the speaker "HK Onyx Studio 3" appears connected, but it doesn't appear in the output list of periphiral devices, so it isn't possible to select it as we did before, and output the sound. I contacted the hotline of Harman Kardon that suggested me to ask the Lenovo's hotline to provide a driver with protocols A2DP 1.3, AVRCP 1.5, AHFP 1.6, and Bluetooth 4.1.What do you think about it? Here is my configuration:- Lenovo Yoga 500 with Windows 10, and Bluetooth 4.0- Harman Kardon Onyx Studio 3 For information, the bluetooth connection between an IPhone and the wireless speaker works fine!We deconnected and connected many time between lenovo yoga and the speaker without results. Any idea please to solve the trouble between lenovo yoga and HK Onyx Studio 3?thank you.

My keyboard won't stay connected to the Bluetooth. Windows disabled the Bluetooth and gave this messge: "Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)." What is this and how do I fix it? I can't get my Logitech K810 keybaord to stay connected. It pairs, and works for awhile, then disconnests, even though it says it is connected. Driver update says the drivers in place are the right ones. I've also tried Bluetooth dongles to connect with, but I get the same problem -- connects for a while and then disconnects.

Hi all I am using a Lenovo X1 model 129126U. Since last three months I am having problems connecting any bluetooth device to the machine, previously it used to work fine but then suddenly the bluetooth components dissappeared after several attempts and uninstalling and reinstalling drivers I have been unable to detect and connect any bluetooth devices. The original issue was that all BT components registered in the BT module suddenly disappered and when I tried to re connect the BT devices nothing happened. I continued to have this issue and was experiencing issues only in detecting and paring BT devices but more recently I had uninstalled and reinstalled all the drivers (bluetooth as well as wireless) I have started to experience a new issue that is as soon as I initiate the BT pairing activity my wireless connection gets dropped. Considering there may be a conflict between BT and WIFI, I even disabled the wireless and as discussed on various forums even changed the settings for wifi channel to 5.2g and tried to add BT devices but nothing happens except for dropping of the wifi connection as soon as BT pairing starts. I called Lenovo support and after discussion they even remotely connected to my machine and checked all the drivers and components but couldnt find any issues with the drivers nor any conflicts in the hardware components. They suspected that this is due to an MS update, whereas I suspect that the issue originated after the bios update version 1.66.2.01 or it ma... Read more

I have a yoga 13 (the oldest version) that recently broke on the base cover near to the hinge. I brought a replacement base cover (something I know Lenovo would probably not recommend). I went about disassembling the yoga and transferring all the components from the broken base cover to the new one. After reassembly, everything worked except for the wifi with the system stating that the local area connection adapter is disabled.I have checked the connections to the wifi card and all appear fine and have checked to see if the antennas on the new cover are broken by reconnecting up the ones from the broken cover but this does not work.Is this a problem with the system or alas a hardware problem that would need repairing?

Hi I've been dealing with this issue for a while now and cannot find a forum with the same issue as me.Whenever I turn on my laptop it automatically says headphones are plugged in even if they are not and will not play sound from the speakers. I have tried reinstalling drivers and nothing has worked. Sound comes in through the headphones, but will not come through the speakers even if I unplug the headphones. Please help.

Answer:Lenovo Yoga 2 Headphones/Speakers Connection

Welcome to the Lenovo Community !

Have you tried inserting and then removing your headphone plug several times from the audio port?  From what you have described it almost sounds like a contact is stuck inside the audio port causing the computer to think the headphones are being used. Likewise the audio port maybe damaged.

If you are unable to resolve the problem I would recommend you contact Lenovo Support for additional assistance.

Hi,Just purchased and received a P40 Yoga.  Nicely equipped and a very nice machine.I am having two issues out of the box so far, the first of which is problems with Bluetooth. I am using bt to connect to Microsoft Designer mouse and keyboard.  I'm able to connect fine initially and use mouse and keyboard.  Also able to connect to other devices like my iphone, etc no problem. But then at seemingly random times, though it always happens in any extended use of the computer, at least once per hour or so, the mouse and keyboard (and seemingly all bt communication) stop responding.  I can look at the windows bt settings and it still shows as connected but nothing is registering.  When the bt seemingly freezes like this it also does not find any new devices to connect to even when they are discoverable.  Each time this has happened I've tried turning bt off and back on and then reconnecting but no success.  BUT, if I turn airplane mode on ( so turn both bt and wifi off) then the mouse and keyboard will function again.  I've tried turning just the bt off and it seems to not want to switch to off, the toggle will go to off but then switch back to on on its own but still not able to connect.  But if I click the toggle in the bt settings menu a few times, eventually it will turn off and stay off, and then if i turn bt back on again the peripherals start to work again.  Also, if I switch into airplane mode, to turn bt and wifi off, ... WiFi and Bluetooth share the 2.4Ghz band, so they may be conflicitng.   If you can move your Wifi to 5Ghz, it might help, as they would be on a different freqency, but you need a WiFi router and WiFi card that supports it.     Try switching channels on your WiFis too.

Hi JL ,

Welcome to the Community Forums.

Since the Yoga 3 pro do not have Ethernet port to maintain it's slim features , you may simply use either USB 2.0 or 3.0  port connected to a USB Ethernet adapter similar to this and this .

USB3.0 offers you the speed (10 times faster than USB 2.0. Super Speed or SS, 4.8 Gbps (Giga bits per second) ) and transfer rate better than USB 2.0  480 Mbps (Megabits per second) .

Answer:Yoga 13 Bluetooth mouse problem

hi ken,

Welcome to the Lenovo Forums.

Can you try the following::
1. Press F6 to permanently disable the built-in Touchpad and try to use the mouse
2. If the problem happens when the AC adapter is plugged-in, try to unplug the charger and use the battery as a power source and test the bluetooth mouse (vice versa)

If the problem persist,
3. Uninstall the Bluetooth drivers from the Control Panel > Programs and reboot. When the unit boots back into Windows 9, it will use the generic blueooth drivers. Try to pair the Bluetooth mouse and check if the issue still happens.

Let me know your findings

Since you have to hunt around different Lenovo sites (and other sites) to find out about these softwares, I decided to make a post to get feedback from actual Yoga owners on how these programs interact, what they do, which ones are prerequisite, and which ones are unnecessary. Please don't take this as a blanket answer. This is just what I have found. It might be right - it might be wrong. I'm looking for others to post their experiences as well. Lenovo System Interface Foundation Driver - Necessary prerequisite (missing driver in device manager without it). It allows the Lenovo Utility and Lenovo Companion to work. Lenovo Yoga Mode Control - Necessary if you want to use your yoga to seemlessly change between all the different modes (laptop, tablet, tent, stand). This software is responsible for autorotating and putting Windows into tablet mode. Lenovo Utility - Recommended(?) This one I'm not too sure on. I remember that I was missing some function that I wanted but I can't remember what it was now. Maybe battery cycle count and health? Lenovo Companion - I don't have this one installed and don't think it's necessary but would like someone else to shed some light here.

So I have these Oontz Angle bluetooth speakers and they work great. I used them all the time until I got my Lenovo g50-45. I connec the speakers to my laptop and for the first several minutes after it's been connected there's a lot of clicking noises in the sound. It's really annoying beccause I can't listen to music or watch videos with my speakers. This never happens with anything else I've connected them to (iPod, tablet, two other pc's). And they work just fine whe I plug them into my pc. So it's the driver. I have no idea what's wrong, I've done troubleshooting and everthing but that hasn't helped because it says it's just fine. I even tried to reinstall the driver.Anyone know what's up?

Hi.  I am on Windows 8.1. I was unable to pair my Bose Soundlink II speaker with my G50 laptop (it has always worked fine up to today) so after doing all the usual attempted fixes such as keeping my finger on the speaker's mute button/bluetooth button etc,  none of which worked, I decided to remove it from my list of devices and set it up again.  Unfortunately I can't now get the Bose to appear - I've tried to connect with Bluetooth and tried to add a device in the devices and printers section but it just doesn't show. I removed my other bluetooth compliant devices and they have all been discovered again and are working fine except the Bose. Uninstalled and reinstalled bluetooth drivers to no avail.  I am wondering whether a system refresh is the only option but grateful for any help.

Answer:Lenovo G50 - Bluetooth problem

Hi JV07,

Welcome to Lenovo Community Forums!

If you were able to pair again your other Devices to the Lenovo via Bluetooth, You might need to take the troubleshooting to the Bose Speaker.

If the battery is removable try using other battery.

Have you tried these Steps and check these indicators?

Hope this helps
Cheers!

My apologies if this isn't the correct thread for this post. In my opinion Bluetooth falls in the networking niche. Please move it to the appropriate thread if not. Thanks!

First off I want to thank you for any help you may provide and for this wonderfull website! This is my first post here as I am pretty tech savvy and don’t usually find myself in the position where I need to ask for help. With that being said I will get to the point of this post.

I recently bought a cell, a T-Mobile Sparq to be completely accurate, and tried to connect it to my laptop via Bluetooth. My laptop is an Asus G75VW which comes with BT capabilities. When I run the BT suite and click “Add a Device” it sits at the “Searching for a device.. Make sure your device is discoverable.” Prompt for as long as I let it without discovering my phone. I made sure my phone’s BT is active and discoverable. My next step was to go into my Control Panel>Administrative Tools>Component Services> Services (Local) to make sure BT and its dependencies where active, which they were. I updated all my related drivers and when that didn’t work I un-installed and re-installed them, to no avail. I checked my device manager to make sure there were no conflicts there and found nothing. I then spent a few hours on Google troubleshooting and was not able to find anything that I had not already tried. That’s when I decided to drop this problem onto the genius minds of the Tech-Guy forums for if they can’t so... Read more

So my bluetooth adapter should be here tomorrow, and i decided to make sure it was easy enough to hook up to windows on my macbook pro running windows 7 64 bit. it sees the headset, but says ' no drivers available'.

if i reboot the macbook into OS X, bluetooth works flawlessly and I can stream audio from the computer to the headset. its windows I'm having a problem with, and afraid I will have the same problem in Windows 10, which is what I am running on my desktop.

is there a Windows driver for the LG HBS-730 headset?

I want to stream game audio from the computer to the headset. Kind of sucks having to have Arkham City on super low volume, or wearing huge clunky headphones popular with WoW back in 2008.

Answer:LG HBS-730 bluetooth connection problem

Have you tried running the bluetooth adapter on a true Windows7 machine? Apps with drivers built for Win7 don't always work properly on Mac OS in boot camp or emulation mode.

Does the bluetooth adapter spec state that it's compatible with Mac OSX as well as Win7??

Answer:Lenovo y570 Bluetooth problem

Honestly, phones have issues working with computers often.  Take a look at bitpim or other forums for your specific phone.  You can always test it out by going into your phone, select a contact "send to device" and see if the computer accepts it.  Bluetooth is very touchy and phone limitations make it even worse.

I have problem with my integrated bluetooth on my lenovo g585, I can´t enable it, I install driver that I got with the laptop, but nothing, also I tried Fn+F5 but nothing happen. Please HELP.

Answer:Lenovo G585 Bluetooth problem

hi guevara017,

Welcome to the Lenovo Community.

If you have the Lenogo G585 as listed in this pdf data sheet, then this doesn't have a bluetooth module pre-installed. Another way to check it out is to open Device Manager and see if you have a Bluetooth Radio installed. If you don't see any, then it's verified that this doesn't have a bluetooth module installed.

As an alternative, you can get a USB 3.0 Bluetooth adapter.for your transfer needs.

Hope this helps.

I have a lenovo g500s notebook with a 64-bit Windows 8, Intel Core i3 processor. Im having a problem with the bluetooth.  1. I have tried installing both the compatible drivers for my system: Intel Bluetooth driver and Qualcomm Atheros driver from this link: http://support.lenovo.com/en_IN/downloads/detail.page?DocID=DS035819, but none of them seem to work. The bluetooth icon in pc settings is set to off and greyed out. (I cant turn it on) 2. In Device Manager, the bluetooth option is missing. But when I go to view -> Show hidden devices, it appears. On expanding it, it shows Microsoft Bluetooth LE Enumerator as the installed driver for bluetooth(even when I had the other compatible driver installed). I have attached a screenshot for this.  3. I've tried turning on Bluetooth Support Services in services.msc but nothing happens. Please help.

Answer:Lenovo X200 Bluetooth Problem

Dear Silver, There is a slide switch on the left front side of the X200 which physically turns the Bluetooth off and on.  The switch is easy to accidentally move from one position to the other when you handle the machine.  It's happened to me on several occasions, and it is not a software problem, it is a mechanical one.  When you find the switch, see if it is in the proper position to allow Bluetooth to function. Regards, EB

Can you try the following:

1. Uninstall the Bluetooth and Lenovo Energy Manage driver from the Programs list and reboot the PC.
2. During the reboot, continuously tap the F2 key to boot into the BIOS. When you're in, press F9 to load setup defaults and press F10 to save and exit BIOS.
3. When the unit boots back into Windows, re-install the following:

Bluetooth Driver (Cybertan, Liteon)
v12.0.0.1671/8.0.0.206
0pbl07w8.exe327MB

Lenovo Energy Managementcagt26ww.exe21.2MB

If bluetooth driver doesn't install, try this Bluetooth® for Windows® software from.Broadcom.

4. Turn the Bluetooth ON by pressing Fn+F5 and check if the bluetooth capability is now ON.

Hi! I have a Lenovo G560 notebook, with Windows 7 64bit, and i cannot use my bluetooth device.I have downloaded the drivers from /consumersupport.lenovo.com, i've instaled them, but the device is not working. Also, i have downloaded the Energy Management and HotKey tools, but here everything looks ok. In device manager the bluetooth adapter and the bluetooth enumerator seems to be installed corectly, but there are 5 items called Bluetooth Peripheral Devices that are not installed (i cannot update the driver from the list of installed drivers on my machine, and another driver doesn't exists). please see Device Manager and Fn+F5 Also, i can use no function from the tasksbar's bluetooth menu ("show bluetooth devices" returns nothing, "add a device" can not find anything, "open settings" is not working etc.).In conclusion, i don't know what is the problem, and i strongly need help.  Also, i need a full technical datasheet for the bluetooth device (for an application that i want to develop). I searched on the technical support pages from Lenovo and Broadcom (the manufacturer of the bluetooth device) and i didn't find anything in details(only "commercial' specifications). hi Nitesh,

The "No Appropriate Driver to be installed" error usually pops up if the installer can't find the specific hardware ID(s) to install the necessary drivers. This may happen if you have a different type of bluetooth adapter (eg. Intel wireless +bluetooth combo)

Can you try the following:
1. If the Network Controller (wireless adapter) is present under Device Manager, can you install these drivers first and reboot if necessary:
    -

Lenovo Energy Manager 21.4MB

WLAN Driver (Atheros, Broadcom, Realtek, Intel)
267MB

2. When finished, check if you can now see the wireless and bluetooth adapter under Device Manager (see Bluetooth and Network Adapters) and press the airplane mode key (F7) to enable these devices.

Let me know how it goes.

I have just got an X121e and it cannot find any bluetooth devices. I have made sure the bluetooth in the laptop is on and checked the settings to enable it to be found and connected to, yet it cannot find either of the two mobiles I have tried to pair with it. Both the phones can find the laptop however, but the bluetooth connection fails. I've downloaded and installed the latest bluetooth driver from the Lenovo website. What else can I do? Is the problem the laptop, bluetooth, windows 7 or what?

Answer:X121e bluetooth connection problem

Hi

You need to install following drivers first

1. Hotkey Drivers
http://support.lenovo.com/en_US/downloads/detail.page?DocID=DS014985

2. Access Connection

http://support.lenovo.com/en_US/downloads/detail.page?&LegacyDocID=MIGR-73682

After installation restart the system , Turn on the Wlan Radio Button , after windows is logged in Press Fn + F5 button to verify the Bluetooth and Wlan status .

Then Make your computer discoverable , so that it can be accessed by other devices

Hope This Helps

I have a Dell studio 15 with Windows 7 and Bluetooth. I am trying to install Manhattan 2800 Bluetooth bookshelf speakers. They sometimes play but disconnect intermittently. When Bluetooth disconnects I have to completely shut down and start over. (I haven't been able to fix it with just Restart.)

Here is a clue:
In "devices and Printers" it shows the laptop as a device:
Studio 15 [properties]

Selecting: [Bluetooth L2CAP Interface] -- properties/General
"Device status
Windows cannot verify the digital signature for the drivers required for this device. A recent hardware or software change might have installed a file that is signed incorrectly or damaged, or that might be malicious software from an unknown source. (Code 52)"

Selecting: [Bluetooth Hands free audio] -- properties
Driver= Broadcom Corp, 7/1/2009,6.2.0.9500
Digital Signer: Microsoft Windows Hardware compatibility Publisher.

The speaker documentation indicates Bluetooth v1.2, class 2 and A2DP protocol support

The Bluetooth icon on the bar at the bottom of the desktop disappears when the connection breaks while looking at properties.

This might be related -- I also have a Kensington Bluetooth trackball mouse that has intermittent problems with connecting at start-up. When the mouse doesn't work at start-up, I can usually make it work by removing its batteries and putting them back.

Advice will be appreciated,
Stan Hilliard

Answer:Intermittant problem with new bluetooth connection

You could consider getting a USB based Bluetooth adapter exclusively for your speakers. One that supports A2DP would be perfect.

Here are a few:

Amazon.com: IOGEAR USB 2.1 Bluetooth Micro Adapter (GBU421): Electronics

Answer:i had a problem about bluetooth connection in z400

hi Charles_xiang,

Welcome to the Forums.

Are you getting pairing issues?
 - if you are, can you provide the error

Also, try the following:
1. Enable the bluetooth by pressing the Windows logo key? +C > Change PC Settings > Wireless (left pane) and toggle Bluetooth to ON.
   - when finished, try to clear the paired devices on your phone and pair it again to the PC

2. If you have the Intel Centrino 2230 (Wi-Fi+Bluetooth) combo adapter, navigate to the Control Panel (large icon view) > Programs & Features and uninstall the Intel + WiFi bluetooth software.
   -when done, install the following:
Intel® PROSet/Wireless Software and Drivers for Windows 8* (install this first)
    Intel® PROSet/Wireless Bluetooth Software for Windows 8*

-after installing, repeat Step 1 and observe

Let me know your findings.

So, this is now driving me absolutely insane, and I couldn't have better chances for success (or so I think).
I am using a Lenovo Thinkpad W530 (Windows 8), and I have a Lumia 920 (Windows Phone 8). Seems pretty darn compatible, right?
Well my issue is simply "They will not connect or cooperate well"

Let me first say that through a blurry mashing of key presses and strange settings windows I have gotten the two to connect before for music control. But only twice.

The issue I have is apparently on both the phone and the computer-
When I tap connect on the phone, it stays connected for a few seconds, then disconnects.
When I try and connect on the laptop, it won't connect at all.
When I try and open the bluetooth device window, it stay open for a couple seconds and then closes.
Sometimes the music controller window appears, then disappears.

My phone doesn't appear to have anything wrong with it, I have restarted the phone completely with no effect.
The computer is under a month old with no driver issues or hardware issues, so it can't be that either.
What on earth am I doing wrong here? Why doesn't Windows (8) (and I hate saying this) have an efficient bluetooth connection service like Mac? connecting my phone to a Mac easier than easy. On windows it's nearly asking me to remove my hair strand by strand.

Thanks in advance.

When you say bluetooth connection, are you saying bluetooth headset or are you saying a bluetooth network connection between your phone and your laptop?

I have Win 10 laptop and an Galaxy S6 phone with Bluetooth activated on both and paired. I can send files/photos from the laptop to the phone but cannot seemingly send from the phone to the laptop. The phone indicates file sending failed.
Am I missing something here?

Answer:Win 10 bluetooth connection to smartphone problem

Found the answer - On the laptop select Bluetooth and then select "Receive file".
You seemingly cannot just send a file directly to laptop.
Simple is it not?

Hi Lenovo For the past 3 days i have been doing some research and observations in order to try to make sense of this wifi issue and maybe someone will come up with a solution. Lets start First of all i assume that when this laptop was being developed some form of testing was done before it was released, so the wifi must have worked well within lenovo offices. Also not everyone is having this issue - some people claim no problems at all, whilst others whathever they try they can't seem to be able to fix it.  Some even send their laptop for repair, other even had it replaced, yet the problem still persisted. So the problem seems to be related to one factor - the router people are using. Some people have a router that works well with this laptop, and so have no issue. Other have a router that is "not compatible" with the wifi card and so no matter how many lenovo yoga 13 machines they have it will still not work. I also noticed in my situation that when i use my android phone or tablet as wifi hotspot i have no issues, yet when i use my home router its a nightmare. Also i noticed that chaging the way how the laptop connects to the router can make a difference; 1, At first i used a fixed IP with alternate configuration - this was horrible (continous disconnection, routers wifi crashing, takes ages to connect)2, Then i used fixed ip in the general configuration - ths was better, yet still problems (yet disconnections were less, yet ... Answer:Lenovo Yoga 13 WIFI Problem - making sense of the problem

I had the same problem.  I came across someon that found a fix.  My Yoga is restoring right now (I tried windows 8.1, it didnt work outwell) so I can't tell you the exact steps but it goes something like this. 1.) right click my computer 2.) click properties3.) Device Manager4.) open properties of WiFi device (under network adapter)5.) Go to Advance6.) there is an option to use use either 20_40w or 20w under one of the energy/power related options in this list.(This is part I can't remember off the top of my head) - Turn to 20w instead of the variable rate.6.) Change the Bandwith option from 20_40w to 20w.5.) OK out till your at your desktop (might require Reboot, I dont remember)  That is how I kept my WiFi from destroying my Wireless networking in my house.  I was rebooting my WiFi network hourly before.

Hi, I have a Lenovo Yoga 510 that is barely a week old and I am having problems with the mouse. It seems to be sticking consantly, zooming in and out of web pages and web tabs are going into brand new tabs. Its rather frustrating that its brand new and I am already having problems! The only things installed on the laptop are Google Chrome and AVG. I was wondering if the McAfee could be conflicting. Any help or fixes would be great!

Hello forum,I have sort of a bizare problem, a week ago I bought an mSATA SSD and I upgraded my laptop (Lenovo B590 20208) to Windows 8.1 from Windows 7 and I still have the Windows 7 on the HDD. Since I upgraded I lost the bluetooth function, it doesn`t appear in PC Settings from the charm menu, in Device Manager it isn`t showing up even as an "Unknown Device". I tried to install the same drivers that I have on Windows 7 that I know that work and I had no luck. I even tried booting up Windows 7 to see if Bluetooth still works there and it does (as expected... I haven`t done any modification to the laptop either than the SSD) . I tried services.msc and the Bluetooth services and Bluetooth support services are both up and running. Fn+F5 doesn`t work. Tried a bunch of older drivers, both Intel and Broadcom, but I know for sure that I have a Intel Centorino Bluetooth Card. If someone have any ideas or have encountered this problem, please help me to solve this problem. Thanks.P.S. If you need any more information don`t be afraid to ask.

Answer:Windows 8.1 Lenovo B590 Bluetooth problem.

hi Ionut14

Welcome to the Lenovo Forums.

Can you try the following:

1. In the Device Manager, click View > Show hidden devices and check if the Bluetooth device is being listed.

- Link to picture
- Link to picture

2. If the bluetooth device shows up under the Device Manager but it's grayed out then it's possible that the drivers aren't installed. Try to:
    a. Go to Control Panel > Programs and uninstall the Bluetooth driver/software (reboot if necessary)
    b. After the reboot, download and install the Bluetooth Driver Installer
     -  this will identify the type of Bluetooth Device installed on the system (eg. Qualcom Atheros, Intel, etc.) and it will install a generic Bluetooth driver. If successful, the Bluetooth device and its components should now appear normally under the Device Manager. From here, try to pair a Bluetooth device and observe.

If none of the above steps work:
3. Install the Lenovo Energy Management v1.67.04.05 (reboot if necessary) then press Fn+F5. If a menu comes up, ensure that both the Wireless and Bluetooth's current status is set to ON.

Let me know how it goes.

Regards

Greetings,I had a very good experience in solving issues last time I visited the forum. I hope you will help me now too.I have a Lenovo G510 20238 Notebook, Windows 8.1 x64. I always install drivers from the official website. However, when I try to install bluetooth driver it says "No appropriate driver to be installed". I have tried different versions of bluetooth drivers, and even changed energy manager of 8.1 to the version of windows 7 (It helped previous time). The bluetooth service is set to start automatically on  every logon. I even tried to install dual boot Zorin OS, because usually Ubuntu OS doens't need drivers. However, even it couldn't find appropriate driver. Neither bluetooth is shown in device manager and PC settings, nor it can be added through legacy hardware in device manager. I will be glad to share any additional information if requiered. Please help me fix this issue.

Hi, I just purchased a brand new, in-the-box Lenovo IdeaPad Z580 laptop. It was advertised as having built-in Bluetooth technology. I just received the computer in the mail today. When I took the computer out of the box and booted it, I noticed that there was no icon for Bluetooth anywhere. I downloaded a driver off Lenovo's website and tried to install it, but the driver crashed in mid-installation. Some websites suggest checking the BIOS and enabling/disabling (and re-enabling) Bluetooth under the settings, but when I go to the settings, there is no Bluetooth device listed. Lenovo website says that to edit Bluetooth settings, you must press Fn/F5 simultaneously. When I do this, all that comes up is a screen with settings for my Wireless Network Card. There is supposed to be both Bluetooth and Wireless there. Other people have said they have experienced this situation as well, but nobody seems to have a solution online. I am using the packaged OS (Windows 7 Home Premium 64-Bit). Device Manager does not list any Bluetooth device, from what I can see. What gives? It's a brand new machine.

Answer:Lenovo IdeaPad Z580 Bluetooth Problem

There should be an BT enable/disable option in your bios, but as you have said you cannot find one, the box that you Z580 came in has the specifications on a white label on the  side, mine says BT 2.1 even though it`s BT 4.0 , you might not have BT have a look. EDIT : I had to remove the cover off the bottom of my Z580 to check the wifi card model  i had, it`s only 1 screw, take a photo and post it here, you will not invalidate your warranty as long as you dont damage anything. EDIT 2: the link below is a photo of my wifi card in my Z580 the part circuled in red is the lenovo part number, which is listed in the service manual pdf as an Broadcom BCM4313 + BT4.0 Post what the number is on your wifi card and i should be able to tell if you have bluetooth. http://i42.photobucket.com/albums/e306/policeman999/wificard_zpsa5bfef89.jpg John.

Hi all, I have a Pentium II, 233 running Windows 98 (original). I have a Safecom (Bluesoleil) Bluetooth dongle which seems to have installed correctly. I'm using USB 1.0 and the dongle is supposed to work with 98 and USB 1.0.Bluesoleil window keeps showing error message- "Please insert a bluetooth device", and when I search for a device on my Motorola V550 it keeps coming up with "no devices found".Anyone know what I need to do or a driver I need to download to get it to work? (I took the dongle back to the shop and it tested fine). Thanks, gee-cee-bee

I have a M900 10NE Tiny with latest BIOS and Drivers which doesn't find Bluetooth devices. Neither with the Windows Bluetooth tool nor with the "Lenovo Bluetooth Lock".The Bluetooth-Device is visible in the device manager. For test purpose I plugged in a old Bluetooth dongle which work without problems. Can anybody give me some hints? Is it possible that's a hardware problem, BIOS settings? Environment:M900 10NE TinyWindows 10 Pro 64bitBluetooth Driver:- Date: 29.9.2016- Version: 19.11.1639.649

Answer:[Solved] M900 Bluetooth connection problem

I really don't know why and how I came to this solution but it worked. When you open the case you can see on the front left side the wires for Bluetooth and Wifi. On my M900 the two wires for Main and Aux where connected in the wrong order. After inverting the order of the two cables, Wifi and Bluetooth worked without problems. In the picture you can see the correct wiring.

I have recently purchased a mobile phone sharp GX15. I have succesfully transfered all my contacts and some photos from my T3 (OS5.2.1) via bluetooth to the phone a couple of weeks ago. Now, when I try to send a photo or contact to the same phone it finds the phone, I tick it and send - the message "Connecting to...." appears and that's as far as it gets. Nothing else happens. I have tried it with other bluetooth phones. The same happens. I can still send photos from the phone to the palm without a problem. Can anyone help please. I am new to this sort of thing (using a forum), please be "gentle" with me. Thanks a lot Martina

When using cortana on my band 2 it always comes up as turn on blue tooth or make sure its connected. I just recently decided to switch to the Microsoft platform because I could use cortana with my voice and band 2. I went through hell and back trying to convert my android info into the Microsoft eco system. I don't know why im so determined and stubborn to keep trying with Microsoft. Your products on paper seem so superior but in reality are sub par. The only reason I switched to a microsoft phone was the voice connectivity with cortana. What I found is that the band worked better with android as well as all the other apps that are cross functional. Why on earth does a Microsoft product have so many issues talking with its own brand. I think i'm returning the phone and possibly even the band, even after returning to the store 5 times and wasting so much of my time. I'm disappointed Microsoft, yet will probably still keep trying your products, why why why./
