Yoga 13 third-party screen protector for capacitive stylus use

Question: Yoga 13 third-party screen protector for capacitive stylus use

Hello, everyone! Long-time lurker, first-time poster. Can anyone recommend a non-Lenovo screen protector for the Yoga 13 that does not reduce capacitance sensitivity? Unfortunately the official protector interferes enough that none of the styluses I've tried work reliably-- lots of skipping and unregistered contacts.I tried using my preferred stylus, a GoSmart Series 200, after removing the official protector, and subsequently scratched my screen. It's definitely not Gorilla Glass! Feels like the top surface might be plastic, actually...

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

I just purchased a Thinkpad Yoga 14 (which was just released today), and I have to say, I am rather disappointed. After finding out there is no active digitizer, I thought I would be able to just use a capacitive stylus to take notes (the type of stylus with a rubber tip at the end). Well, turns out that it is terrible when it comes to detecting input from a capacitive stylus (trust me, I've tried them all). The main issue that I am running into with the capacitive stylus is when it comes to writing, where the screen doesn't recognize the stylus for a split second and will actually seem like it is skipping. Here is a picture to try and show what I am talking about. http://imgur.com/JlWSoUh.jpg     Another issue I just ran into is I am having a very hard time trying to wake it from sleep, where I try to open up the screen but all it is displaying is black. I usually have to close the laptop, wait for a minute or so, then open it up again. Very annoying.     There is also noticeable lag when scrolling using 2 finger scrolling. It's nothing compared to the Macbook lineup, where touchpad scrolling seems to be flawless.

Model number is 20DM, but sadly it's not pen enabled. So, i decided to try a normal capacitive stylus, and to my disappointment whenever i tried to draw a straight line, it jumped and drew a dotted line. Anyone else having this problem?

Hi there...  First time user,  just bought an X1 Carbon Gen 3, still waiting on delivery.I'm currently using a Sony Vaio which has a dedicated Active Capacitive Stylus which I love.  I bought the high res touch screen model of the X1 but it doesn't come with a pen, so I'm wondering if it is capacitive and if so could someone recommend a pen.  I'm giving my wife the Sony, which means she'll get my beloved pen too, which is a bummer.  Thanks

Answer:X1 Carbon (3rd Gen, 2015) "Active" Capacitive Stylus

Good day and welcome to the community.

Congrats on the Carbon3! Great machines, IMHO.
It's definitely a capacitive touch screen, so you should be able to use the capacitive pen of your choice.

Cheers.

Hello, A shallow search turns up many results of people making claims of the "functionality" of capacitive styli, including a variety of generic, the Wacom Bamboo (?) and the Adonit Jot series. After watching a video on the Adonit Jot Script on an IPad, I grabbed one from Amazon, and was sorely disappointed.  Does it "work?"  Yes.  I can interact with the screen with the stylus, but without palm rejection, it's truly useless as a writing tool. So, at the risk of sounding redundant, does anyone know of a capacitive stylus that works with Windows 8 specifically the Twist hardware that also has palm rejection?  Thanks, Matt

Unsure why I can't edit my post.I spent some time researching the digitizer/touchscreen and figured out that it is made by a company called Atmel (looked up the PCI Vendor ID/VID from the HID-Compliant touchscreen in devmgmt.msc). It is of the maXTouch series, although I can't determine which class (I couldn't find the Product ID/PID).I did, however, figure out that Atmel makes a stylus that's compatible with a few classes of their digitizers called the maXStylus. Searching around on electronics suppliers, I learned quickly that, although being sold at the "low low price" of ~$5USD at several sites, that the minimum order is 6000, and requires a direct manufacturer order.I then wrote an email to the customer service people at Atmel. It's clear that they may or may not entertain my request for info, being that they are an B2B electronics manufacturer, not an B2C/end user vendor. In effort to find the stylus, I came across the fact that it is used in a few HP laptops (as well as a few others). The good news? Here's a youtube video of an "unboxing": https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jkSuBY35-1YHere's two HP links to the same exact model (one is a "smart buy" which basically means nothing for the part itself):HP Executive Tablet Gen2 Pen: http://h30094.www3.hp.com/product/sku/10754734/mfg_partno/F3G73AAHP Executive Tablet Gen2 Pen SmartBuy (~$10USD cheaper): http://h30094.www3.hp.com/product/sku/10754735/mfg_partno/F3G73UTThe bad news? Has anyone purchased the screen protector from Lenovo for the Yoga 13? or an aftermarket one? if so, how does it feel? is touch screen sensitivity decreased at all? how is the display quality? im thinking about getting one as I don't like cleaning my screen every other day.. but if the screen protector is a nuisance, ill just have to live with cleaning the screen (which is not a major hassle). I have a smartphone with touch screen and used to have the ZAGG protector for it, but removed it after a few months as I didn't like the display after putting it on. any input about this would be greatly appreciated. thx

Answer:Yoga 13 Screen Protector?

I did purchase the one from Lenovo.  I do not know if there is a sensitivity difference because I placed it before I used it. I do find that it sometimes does not register a swipe in from the left to pull out the charms bar. I also find that this protector is just as glossy as the normal screen, "needing" cleaning just as often, and having a large amount of glare if the lighting is at any amount of angle.  For these reasons I would not recommend it. I am now looking for an aftermarket.  (I found this while searching... and decided to help you out.)

Lenovo sells the screen protectors but they are hard to apply without having bubbles form underneath. To be honest, I don't think screen protectors are necessary if you are only using your fingers to touch the screen.Using a LCD cleaning cloth wipes works well in wiping away any smudges or fingerprints.

Hey guys ive had the Thinkpad Yoga 12.5 since its launch and absolutely love it especially for art. Unfortunately using the stylus so much has left the screen protector pretty scratched and warn in the middle of the screen. Is it possible to have the screen protector replaced under extended warranty?

Answer:Thinkpad Yoga Screen Protector Wear

I have the same question too. I am not even sure if the screen protecting plastic is supposed to be on the screen or if it is meant to be removed after starting the pc? If it is meant to be there, then how could you replace the screen protector later on?

P.S. ImpactBlue: Can you share some of your art you are capable of doing with this TP Yoga? I am hardly able to handwrite correctly with the pan, so it amazes me that you would use it heavily for art. I would love ot see that.

Answer:TP Yoga 12 - Has anyone peeled off matte finish screen protector?

Welcome to the Lenovo Community !

I have the Thinkpad S1 Yoga with a similar factory applied screen protector.  I had wondered the same thing as I was concerned in time if it would need to be replaced due to wear, etc.  As far as the finish, I enjoy matte screens.   In searching the Internet on topic I found that it can be removed with a little effort.  Some folks found that working up an edge with a sharp object like a razor blade helped as it gave you something to grip during removal.  Others found that lightly warming the protector with a hair dryer softened it and aided in its removal.  For me, I left in place and applied another screen protector over it which I can easily replace if need be.  Even with the second protector in place there is no loss of sensitivity with using the stylus or fingers.

My only suggestion is to do a little searching on the Internet before under taking the project if you plan to remove it.  I would also wait until any warranty has expired.

Yoga thinkpad 20cd. I have the original stylus that came with the lap top as well as an aftermarket LIfebook stylus. The screen doesn't register either stylus. When i go to the windows pen calibration the stylus works fine. The calibration consists of tapping targets with the stylus pen. It is very accurate. Soon as i close the calibration window the stylus doesn't interact with the screen at all. I assume I must have changed some setting by accident or it occurred with an update. The stylus use to work a few months ago. I have tried messing with my display settings to remove the adaptive brightness at one point and may have selected a wrong setting. Thank you for any help provided.

Hello. I have a Lenovo Yoga 2 from work and we use it to get customer signiture on a web browser page for the company I work for. however lately. when a customer is trying to sign in the signniture box, it just move the whole screen around in a similar way to moving the screen with your finger. the only way it writes is when you hold the stylus down for a scond or two and then write without lifting it. but every time it leaves the screen then the same problem happens again. I tried to fix it from the touch screen settings but nothing seems to work. and advice on fixing this is greatly appreciated.

I have a Lenovo Yoga 720 13" and a Bamboo Ink Smart Stylus to use on it, both of which I got this week. For the most part they work together really well, but when the Yoga is in tablet mode and I rotate the orientation from landscape to portrait, it will no longer register the pen's signal. Even weirder, it won't register it after I flip it back to landscape, or even when it's back in laptop mode. The only way to use the stylus on it after it does this is to restart the laptop altogether. The Bluetooth still works; I can still open apps by clicking the end of the stylus. I just can't actually write anything with it. Is there an easy fix for this, some setting I can change that I'm missing? Or does this indicate a bigger problem? If anyone can shed some light on this, it'd be much appreciated.

Answer:Lenovo Yoga 720 13" won't register stylus after changing screen orientation

Hello ActuallyjordanThanks for using the Lenovo forums.Try to download the Video and Chipset drivers for the unit from the support page.

Make sure to reboot after an update on the unit.
Also, Try a static discharge for this, it may help to resolve the issue or at least get rid of any built up static on the motherboard.(If the battery is internal, please just skip the remove/replace battery steps.)1. Turn the unit off2. Remove the battery and the Mains adapter3. Press and hold the front power button for 30 seconds4. Replace the battery and the Mains adapter5. Turn the unit on as normal

Recently I found out that my lenovo yoga 710-15ikb laptop doesnt support digitizer active pen technology. Its hidden in online talks and also frustration when you buy a $70 wacom bamboo ink pen to find that it doesnt work. I understand that most active pens wont work with my computer because the screen (and maybe motherboard) dont have a digitizer. However, I have been looking online and some retailers appear to be selling digitizer lcd screens for my specific model. My question is whether or not these retailers are selling aftermarket screens and if they are will the digitizer work once one is installed? Also, I have a lot of experience doing repair work, mainly with digital cameras and building my desktop, so the task of replacing my laptops screen is not a problem Im just unsure as to whether or not buying a new digitizer lcd screen will work. I dont want to spend money that I dont have to if it turns out that I am just being misled.

Thanks!

Let me know if you need more clarification I'll be around for a while.

Hi,

When I connect Thinkpad Yoga (model 20CD00B1US) to the onelink dock, the stylus stops working.

In order to enable the stylus and Wacom driver following 2 options/ workarounds:
1)  Manually stop and restart the Wacom ISD Service
2) or reboot the machine while the Onelink dock is attached.

I'm using the latest 7.2.0-4 Wacom driver version, all latest lenovo software installed installed on the machine.

Both above mentioned workarounds are ugly, does anybody have a better suggestion to fix this issue?

Hi, I understand the basics of a capacitive screen as opposed to a resistive
one. What I don't understand is the meaning of 5 or 10 points when describing a capacitive screen. Can someone clarify this for me please.

Answer:5 or 10 point capacitive screen ?

Multi point touch screens sense multiple points of contact on the tablet PC allowing for better accuracy and the zooming option. The more points the better the response from the LCD screen. Most tablets come in a range of multi touch depending on the price. The most basic is a 2 point touch. Other common multi touch screens are 5 point touch and 10 point touch(used in the iPad 2 for example). These give the user far better accuracy and response.

I am having a nokia lumia 720. Now i am having problems on its capacitive touch screen. It automatically touch itself and at that time the screen freezes. Pressing back, taking menu, opens bing search automatically by the phone.. I have done soft reset, hard reset and everything. And remove sim , memory card and the problem still persists. What to do now?

Answer:capacitive touch screen.

If the issue is still there after a hard reset then it sounds like a hardware fault.
I would look to take it in for repair.

Hi all, not a problem as such just like to know the reason. I have a tablet with a capacitive screen, using a finger or a conductive probe/stylus
it works fine as it should. If I use a piece of wire or or any other conductor ie a coin, nothing happens. I don't intend poking it with wire or anything else but would like some one to explain please out of curiosity more than any other reason.

Answer:Capacitive touch screen explanation please

Any use, How Stuff Works. Not a definitive answer I admit but perhaps it has to do with the size of the conductor?

i got it from various sources on the net that a capacitive screen relies totally on finger touch.. so theoretically speaking, if i put a scratch guard over the screen , it should not work.. but it does..can anyone explain this?

Answer:Solved: scratch guard on a capacitive screen

A capacitive touch panel requires the very close proximity of a finger to the sensing electrodes but not actual contact with them. The sensing electrodes are on the back side of the glass of the display. As long as screen protector is not electrically conductive, it should have no affect on the touch screen operation. It is only increasing the distance between the electrodes and the finger by a very small amount as compared to the glass thickness.

I haven't yet found a single 3rd party USB-C charger that works with my X1 Yoga. Have you? I thought USB-C was a universal standard so I am surprised and annoyed that I can only charge this machine with the original charger. Other USB-C laptops don't seem to have this problem: https://www.pcworld.com/article/3170184/laptop-accessories/universal-usb-c-charging-how-the-dream-is...

Answer:X1 Yoga (2nd gen) Any 3rd party USB-C chargers?

There is a standard negotiation that goes on to determine if the charger can supply enough power at the correct voltage. Many 3rd party chargers don't go through that communication correctly - they are simple 1-voltage power supply.  My Lenovo adapter can supply 5V to my USB-C cell phone and 20V to my laptop.  Having said that, I have an Incipio WM-PW-302-US that I got with a different device.  It works fine with my 5V cell phone and charges my X1 Yoga at 20V 65W

Question: Yoga 900 stylus

Hi,  I know this has the ability to write in documents such as one note, but I was wondering if anyone had any good suggestions for a stylus that works well with the screen and doesn't cause any scratches or imperfections to the screen. Thank you.

Answer:Yoga 900 stylus

Hi dbabiasz  ,

Welcome to the Community Forums.

With the Yoga 900 stylus , similar discussion that you can read  on this thread .

In terms of  scratches or imperfections to the screen from the stylus, that we are not certain at the moment.
Users of the  Jot pro and Dot Pen haven't noted any remarks on it so most likely there's no significant effect on-screen.

One thing that we are sure is that another users verified compatibility and ease of usage with that device.
Try to read through the full discussion regarding additional remarks that would be good to know during purchase.

Hope this helps you.

So about a week ago I bought a stylus pen that I believed would work with my Lenovo Yoga 3 Pro, but it didn't (that was my own fault for not looking more into it). So, I ended chatting with a support person about at first if there was any way I could get the pen to work, which there was not. So I asked this same person, someone who works at Lenovo support, what they would recommend as a good pen to use with my specific computer. They told me the Lenovo ThinkPad Yoga Digitizer Pen would be a good fit, so I ordered it. It came in today, and it turns out this pen is also not compatible with my computer. While I am very frustrated that this pen, which was recommended to me by a Lenovo employee who was fully aware of what computer I had, was not compatible, I am still in need of a stylus pen that will work with this computer. I have a Lenovo Yoga 3 Pro that I am using to help me through college, so any pen that has some of button or something that will easily get me to an eraser mode would be ideal, but not necessary. Also I am not a fan of the soft tipped kind of stylus, so I would also like to avoid that. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

Hi,I know this topic appeared a few times before on this forum but I am really confused especially after a Lenovo employee told me via pohne I could basically use any stylus on the Lenovo Yoga 510. I would be very grateful if someone could help me.I read this article:http://www.howtogeek.com/177376/not-all-tablet-styluses-are-equal-capacitive-wacom-and-bluetooth-exp...As i figured Lenovo Yoga 510 has a different touchscreen (no wacom technology, no digitizer?) than f.e. Yoga 460, which is much more expensive. Is that correct? Is that why I can not use f.e. the ThinkPad Stylus? Or was the employee right and it doesen't matter?if not, is there any kind of alternative for the Yoga 510 apart from the cheap pens with the thick tip? I want something that is somewhat precise. I saw pens with a battery that appear to be capacitive by generating a small electromagnetic field like your finger but have a thin tip. Are these the only alternative for Yoga 510? Does the pen for Lenovo Think Pad definitely not work? What about the pens that comunicate via bluetooth mentioned in the article? Could they be an alternative for the Yoga 510?If there is no real solution for Yoga 510 and there was a Lenovo Laptop with a similar price than Yoga 510, with similar performance and with digitizer I would consider changing mine but from what I saw the notebooks with digitizer are either much more expensive (like Yoga 460) or have a lower performance (like yoga book) is that correct?Thank you very much.

Answer:stylus pen for yoga 900

No, The Yoga 900 with a Core i3,i5 or i7 does not support an active stylus. But, the 900S does. Unfortunetly, it comes with only an M7 processor. Though, I suppose that it is probably an great laptop. Not .one wants or needs a ton of power. So, if you are in the market for a lower powered laptop, here is the link. Mind you, it has not been released as of yet. http://shop.lenovo.com/us/en/laptops/lenovo/yoga-laptop-series/yoga-900S/#tab-features

So i bought a thinkpad yoga, and it came today - which I am really happy about. There's a problem though - I bought the computer thinking that I would get a pen with it and an active digitizer. I bought the computer over the phone, and i got a confirmation email saying that the base was a FHD 1080 screen. Since the only two options for the computer are either with partial HD and NO pen or with FHD and a pen, i assumed I was getting a pen or at least a digitizer with the computer. After all, I paid for it in full.  The pen did not come with the computer, however i was told that if i bought a thinkpad pen separately, it would still work. I have a digitzer pen already, but it doesn't work on this computer.  I tried to download the firmware update for the digitizer, which didn't work. I got a notice saying Current version: ????New Version: and then it said that a connection could not be established. I also tried to download the wacom feel driver, but it said that a compatible tablet was not detected.  Does anyone have any inkling what is going on here? somebody please help!!! I really don't want to have to return the laptop and have to purchase a new one.

Answer:Thinkpad yoga 3rd party pen not working

FHD screen option has both wacom and non-wacom digitiser option. Getting the FHD screen doesn't guarantee that it would have the wacom pen option. If the ordering page is listing the wacom digitiser option next to the FHD option, then that is what you should get.

Also which model Pen did you get?

Under the System Manager did you see the pen option, like the one listed below? HID-compliant digitizer and HID-Compliant Pen

I want to take notes and do some freestyle drawing with my Yoga 2 11" laptop/tablet. I have the rubber round tip but it is not thin and accurate enough for my needs. Is there a stylus pen-style for the Yoga 2 11" similar to the Surface Pro? Thank you. I've read many of the previous posts but it wasn't quite what I was looking for.

Answer:Suggestion for a stylus for a Yoga 2 11"

Good day.

You definitely need a capacitive stylus to work with your Yoga.
While I've never tried one, personally, this one: http://www.adonit.net/jot/pro/ looks pretty interesting.
Not cheap, but might be worth researching.

Please post back if you decide to try it, or find more info.

I am trying to find out what kind of stylus I can use with my Yoga 3 14" to draw with some degree of precision in tablet mode. I have looked into this a lot but I find the answers confusing and not precise, so I thought I'd ask if anyone knows.I am looking at different stylus pens, like the Bamboo from Wacom and the Adonit stylus...I know not all touchscreens are the same... I know about the whole capacitative screens and how the really precise drawing pens won't work with that... Ok, so what does my Yoga 3 14" have? I tried using my cheap $1 stylus from ebay on it and it doesn't work (it works with my android galaxy s6 however). So, any advice? Reccomendations?I am an artist and it would be amazing to be able to use a decent stylus with precise lines to draw directly onto my laptop, rather than having to buy a seperate tablet....

What other stylus is compatible other than the Pen Pro. I had the X220i years ago and it was almost big enough for my preference. Also my favorite part was that I could flip it and use the opposite end of the tip as an eraser automatically. Having side buttons is nice but inconvenient for erasing since I have to change my grip. I use it for college and work so Im always quickly taking notes.  Is there anything even remotely similar to what Im looking for? And Id choose the eraser feature over having a larger pen hands down

I absolutely cannot get the stylus that came with my laptop to work. I've updated the drivers, so that's not it. I tried to check the battery using the ThinkPad Low Battery Notifier, but it didn't even ackowledge that there was a pen touching the screen. My finger works fine, so it's not the touchpad. I tried the fingernail trick to get the stylus connectors to touch, but nothing. I'm about ready to return this product and never buy Lenovo again, which is a shame because I otherwise like this little laptop. But I bought it FOR the stylus.

Is there a precision stylus compatible with the Yoga 2? Something maybe like the Digitizer pen for the Thinkpad maybe...

Answer:Precision stylus for Yoga 2

Capacitative screens can only have relatively thick styluses at this point, so pretty much no. You could get a block of conducting foam and find the smallest sized chunk that registers consistently, then find a capacitative stylus with a tip of a similar (slightly larger) size.

Hello everybody! I'm new to lenovo and this forum. Just bought a Lenovo Yoga 3 Pro 14", and I love it so far.I'm in med-school, and I was looking for a fine tip pen or stylus that works with the Y3P14 for note-taking and more graphic use (well not everything needs to be about medicine).I've tried one of those normal capacitive pens with onenote, and while palm recognition was automatic, the pen did a really bad job.. And no, it's not my bad hand writing  it barely drew a straight line. If you have any suggestion I'd love to hear them, I went through the entire web (well most of it), and checked most popular styli and pens out there, but no reference to my computer, windows tablets and so on... Thanks very much!Barkai

I have a Yoga 910 131KB. It's my first foray into Lenovoland after decades as a Dell user. My favorite Dell accessory was a slim travel power supply that would work with either a 2-prong AC appliance cord or the ubiquitous automobile "cigarette lighter" plug.  Try as I might, I can't find anything similar in a USB-C flavor with the 45W power requirements of the 910.   What woud be nice is if someone made a step-down adapter for Dell power supplies. I have over a dozen of the things. I only have ONE Lenovo wall wart. I guess I'll get a second Lenovo PS as I'd be sunk if the one that came with the computer failed.  So, what I'm hoping someone can point me to is...  12-volt USB-C chargers (will probably need more amps than the USB-C phone chargers that are everywhere)110-volt USB-C charger that uses a standard appliance cord (wall warts don't always fit well on airplanes, requiring the tiny extension cord that came with the computer. That leaves the transformer dangling at foot level where it's going to get kicked and knocked around)Converters for other power supplies. Specifically, the Dell 19.5-volt 90W bricks. I've been using my 260 for a couple months now and generally have been pleased with it.  Unfortunately, the stylus stopped working while I was using it yesterday and I'm trying to figure out what's gone wrong. I suspect the internal capacitor is no longer charging, but I'm unsure how to check.  If it is a charging issue, is it possible that it's an OS driver issue?  A few weeks ago I changed my OS from Windows 10 to Ubuntu and if the stylus has a very impressive battery life it's possible it's just finally worn out, but I find it odd that this would be OS dependent, as doesn't the stylus charge even if the PC is off? If anyone can shed some light on this issue, it would be much appreciated.  Google has failed to provide me any helpful information and I'd really like to avoid reinstalling Windows 10 just to see if it starts charging my stylus - especially if it doesn't help!

Certainly the touchscreen does not work on a Yoga 510-14AST (note that the 3 digit product name often describes quite a range of hardware) out of the box - I'm currently seeking some clues from Lenovo as to what hardware implements this (nothing detected by the diagnostics in Linux). But apart from the touchscreen, auto-rotation and Firewire, everything else works - so it was still a good buy as a basic but robust laptop.

your drive D is your recovery partition, which contains the factory shipped OS and drivers needed to reinstall the OS. I think you are downloading the Photoshop Elements to D drive instead of C drive. When you download the PS Elements specify the drive to which you want to save the downloaded file. You definitely have enough space on the C: drive.

So I got my Thinkpad p40 a few days ago and so far it's been great, with just one problem. The small stylus, the one that's housed in the body of the laptop doesn't work. I'm not sure if the pen itself is defective, or if the charging port is. The separate full-sized pen, the Thinkpad Pen Pro (4X80H34887) functions just fine. I've left the laptop plugged in overnight multiple nights but to no avail, and there doesn't seem to be any 'pen charging driver' in the driver list, just indicators. I've tried various programs, including Lenovo's low battery indicator and the laptop stylus simply doesn't work at all. The Pen Pro works in all the same situations. Does anyone have suggestions? Thanks!

Amy made a list of systems that support pens here:

https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/ThinkPad-S-Series-ThinkPad-Yoga/Lenovo-Systems-That-Support-Pens/ta-p/3...

Looking at the different types of pen, it's clear that some are intended to be docked in a pen bay (e.g. ThinkPad Pen Pro 3, ThinkPad Pen Pro 2, and Lenovo Digitizer Pen).

This info should get you started, I think?

I recently purchased the Thinkpad Yoga S1 and use it for school. I mainly use the tablet mode for writing notes in class. I am having issues with the sensitivity of the pen when using OneNote, mainly when switching from different pens or highlighters. The pen will start marking on the screen without actually touching the screen with the stylus. I have been able to mark on the screen while holding the pen up to 2 or 3 inches from the screen. Good day.

The Yoga 900 works with capacitive pens only. Those are the type that mimic a fingertip. These might be ok for some Photoshop features, but not likely for fine-point control. In addition, there won't be pressure-level sensitivity, at least of the type that one gets with a Wacom-style digitizer / active pen.

Hope this helps to clarify.

It does not write well. I want a stylus pen with pointy end so I can acturally take my notes on OneNote. I writes equations down so it is very hard to write small and neat with my hand. AFAIK, the Yoga 2 Pro has no digitizer, so you're stuck with capacitative styluses, which are by necessity the huge tipped pens. You can try smaller tipped pens, but they might not register properly.

Also found some Windows supported styluses but they don't have palm rejection function. But couldn't find what i'm looking for. Please help.

Hi there, I have the Best Buy version of the THinkpad Yoga 14. for about 2 weeks now. When I first bought it, I tested it out and the pen works. Now I am in class and I tried using it and the pen is not registering. The touchscreen works (e.g. I can draw in OneNote with my finger). I tried hovering the pen over the screen and it is not registered at all.

I know the pen automatically charges when it is in the holder. So I think it should be fine on battery.

So I don't know what else to do to get the pen to work??

Ok this is a hot discussion for the yoga 720, as to why this powerful laptop does not have tilt recognition? Do any of the stylus pens have tilt recognition?  Is it something lenovo intends for future software upgrade?  Or is it a hardware issue?  Tilt recognition for stylus, any advice?

Hey guys, I'm having some issues with pressure sensitivity. Does the Lenovo yoga 3 support pressure sensitivity? (I thought it would, being a touchscreen laptop)I am using Adobe Illustrator CC with a stylus - the Adonit Jot Pro. I can't seem to use the pressure sensitivity functions on illustrator. I tried downloading a few Wacom drivers, however they did not make any difference. If the Yoga 3 Pro does actually have pressure sensitivity functions, how do I enable them or which drivers do I download.. basically, how do i fix this??Thanks!

Answer:Lenovo Yoga 3 Pro - Pressure Sensitivity - Stylus

Good day and welcome to the community.

The Yoga 3 Pro has a multipoint capacitive touch screen (vs an active digitizer).

If you need Wacom-style functionality (pressure levels, fine-point control, etc) you'll need a suitably equipped machine, such as a number of ThinkPad Yoga models, the ThinkPad Helix, or the ThinkPad Tablet 10.

Hope this helps to clarify.
Regards.
