Yoga 13 Bluetooth Issues (Headphone Connection)

Question: Yoga 13 Bluetooth Issues (Headphone Connection)

Hi.I've been lurking for a bit and have had most of my questions answered and issues solved bythis fine community. Thank you!My problem is that I can add my bt headphones (I've tried two different sets) in the "add device"option, but once I shut the bt device (headphones in my case) off and then turn them back onagain the sound continues to come from the tablet or stereo speakers (which ever I'm using atthe time) and the sound won't switch to the bt headphones automatically. I must manually go theSound settings in Control Panel options and select the bt headphone to use them again. As ofright now I've got a shortcut to the Sound options on my desktop. Now this isn't a deal breaker forme, but there's got to be an easier way! LOLS!Any suggestions? Thanks! And for the record I have no wifi issues and I've upgraded to 8 gigs of ram so I'm keeping this!!!

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Answer: Yoga 13 Bluetooth Issues (Headphone Connection)

I haven't tried using a Bluetooth headset with Windows, but check: 1. Right-click on the sound tray icon, select Playback devices. Does it show a 2nd bluetooth headset device in addition to Speakers? If so, left-click on it and try the "Set Default" dropown menu on the bottom to make it the Default device (or some other option that works better). 2. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/933144 3. http://www.computing.net/answers/hardware/making-bluetooth-headset-default-audio-device/87178.html

Hi, I am having problems getting a Bluetooth headset to operate. Having connected and paired (I believe), the device shows in Devices and Printers. In Device Manager, there are three listings for it (Aukey model EP-B4). Each listing says there are no drivers installed. Have tried updating each and all but after an age for Windows searching for drivers I had to use Ctrl-Alt-Del to close it.
I have contacted the manufacturer many times but so far no results - they repeatedly requested from where I bought it and item number.
I am using Win7 SP1 with all updates current.

The headset works well with my mobile phone and tablet (Android 5.1).

Any help much apprecitated.

I've recently bought a Bluetooth USB Dongle for my Dell Inspiron 1764 laptop so my wireless headphone could connect to it. The dongle connected and installed fine but when I pressed "Add a device", it saw it as a keyboard and when it tried to install the driver for it, it gave me a "No driver found" for Bluetooth Peripheral Device. It is a Ciberspeed Sports Bluetooth Headphone and it has worked for my iPod so I'm not sure if that's the issue. I appreciate any help.

Hi Satellite users,

I recently had a problem getting my Toshiba Satellite P50t-B running Windows 10 to detect (and hence connect) to my Sony MDR-XB50BS Bluetooth Headphones. The symptom of the problem was that the "MDR-XB50BS" device didn't appear in the list of available devices on the Windows Activity Centre "Connect" screen, nor in the Windows Settings -> Devices -> Bluetooth and other devices -> Add a device screen. Since the device never appeared, I couldn't connect to it.

The solution to the problem turned out to be upgrading my Toshiba Satellite BIOS from version 1.10 to BIOS version 1:50 available on the Drivers & Updates tab of the Toshiba Satellite Support site. The release notes mention a Bluetooth issue being corrected in version 1.40 and while I can't say for certain that this is the same issue I encountered, updating the BIOS was the last thing that I tried before the problem went away, and it's reasonable to expect that a relatively new technology like Bluetooth might have had early implementation bugs.

The other point to note is that if you've already paired the headphones with another device, like I had with my iPhone, then you have to hold the power button down for 7 seconds at power on in order to enter Bluetooth pairing mode first time you try to connect it to the Satellite.

I hope this helps someone someday!

Cheers,
Graham

Purchased a Yoga 2 Pro a month ago.Noticed when connecting to a bluetooth 3.0 Wireless headset, the signal is relatively weak and intermittently interrupted when walking away from the computer. Wondering is this an isolated issue to a unit?Has anyone tried to connect Yoga 2 Pro with any bluetooth 3.0 Wireless headset? Is it working ok? Thx.

Hi, I am sorry if I'am creating a new thread, but it seems I may have a weird issue and I can't find if another users had this specific problem. Bluetooth is working when streaming local movies, but whenever i start streaming online music (youtube, google music) the music starts to stutters (lagging) like mentioned in this thread but for the yoga 13. My driver version of the bluetooth driver is : 17.0.1428.1 (2014-07-09), i went direclty to intel to update it.DPTF is disabled, if wondering.. Now is the issues because of the single band of my wifi card (the driver is also updated : 17.0.1.5).If anyone has a solution that I may have missed (because there is no official solution), could you help out please ! Thank you all and have a great day !

Hi everyone. Ever since updating to Windows 8.1 my Bluetooth on my Yoga 13 no longer works. I had issue with numerous drivers since the update, but this is the only one that refuses to be fixed. I have tried the drivers on the Lenovo page but they have not worked. Has anyone had success with Bluetooth after Windows 8.1 and care to lend some advice? Thanks!

Yoga 13 Bad Wi-Fi and Bluetooth ? almost giving up (and giving back) I have purchased the Yoga 13 a week ago, and everything was fine. EXCEPT, I experienced problems to connect to the public Wi-Fi. I get  5 seconds of Wi-Fi connected, and then 5 seconds of "limited connection", and again "connected" for 5 sec., "limited" for 5 sec., and so on. I convinced myself it was because of the large number of people connected at the place I have been at. But now I am sitting here, with just a few people, and it seems they are all connected well, and only I get the 5 seconds cycle.  But it wasn't for this issue that I started to feel frustrated with my 1 week old Lenovo Yoga. It's the Bluetooth issue that really bothers me. I am trying to use Microsoft Notebook Bluetooth 5000 mouse. I have to use it, since I have to use both USBs for other devices. At first it worked fine. Just the random disconnections everyone on the net are talking about. I tried everything: I set the power management of the realtek  rtl8723A chip so it won't be able to turn off the BT. I also set the BT to automatically search for devices under services.msc management, which supposed to help reconnection after sleep. Each time it seemed like the problem was solved, until the next time it randomly disconnected. So I have updated my machine. First, I've updated the BIOS from CN52 to CN55. I don't know if it's relevant, but I mention it anyway. Them I've updated the realtek drivers, according to th... Read more

Hello,I have had a Yoga 2 Pro (Win 8.1) for over a year now.  A couple months ago I purchased a Microsoft Arc Touch Bluetooth mouse. Ever since I've been in a bluetooth twilight zone of bizarre behavior.  It will work and then cut out.  Some times it will be recognized but not work at all.  Other times it will be recognized and not pair properly.  I've combed through the forums and have tried:- Switch the settings to prevent the computer from shutting off the device due to power management (this did help but did not solve all of the problems).- Upgraded to the newest Lenovo driver on the Lenovo website (installed but refused to recognize any bluetooth device).- Uninstalled and upgraded to the newest driver on the Intel website (crashed when trying to install)- Uninstalled and reversed back to original Lenovo driver on D drive.- I've tried uninstalling/reinstalling the wifi driver.  The first time this worked... the second time nothing. So where am I now?   All of the devices show up fine in the Device Manager.  The mouse is discoverable but won't pair. And I guess I'm out of ideas as to what to try next.  From reading the forums I guess it seems like I'm not the only one suffering from bluetooth issues with the Yoga 2 Pro.  But thought that I might as well post to see if perhaps there is someone out there who has an idea that I haven't already tried. Or perhaps someone from Lenovo could reply... Whatever I do, I can't seem to get bluetooth working on my Y2P.  I installed the latest ones from Lenovo's site, I tried using the generic drivers, I tried getting the latest ones from Intel... still no luck. If I use the generic ones, I get a code 43 error in Device Manager.  If I try Lenovo's or Intel's it starts the device fine but Windows itself doesn't even think I have a bluetooth device. What is going on?

When I am using my bluetooth connection on my Yoga 3 Pro and typing at the same time the connection drops off constantly. I can only assume that the bluetooth antenna is right below my hands. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to fix this? I would really prefer to not have another USB device sticking out of the tablet while I am using it. I have already had to add a WiFi USB device to extend the poor range of the WiFi card that came from the factory. It really defeats the purpose of this device being so portable. This seems like a pretty big design flaw. Thanks!

I have a Yoga 13 (Windows 8) and a Lenovo Thinkpad Bluetooth keyboard.  The keyboard disconnects from the computer every few minutes.  Sometimes it reconnects on its own after 30 seconds or so.  Sometimes it needs to be restarted and sometimes it won't reconnect for several minutes despite numerous restarts. I have replaced the keyboard.  The new keyboard behaves exactly the same way.I have replaced the wireless card.  No improvement. It is possible that the new wireless card is also defective. I have tried to update drivers, although the drivers for the keyboard still seem to be dated June 2006, which seems an awfully long time ago. Any ideas?  Lenovo seems stumped (or just does not want to help diagnose the problem).  I do have onsite service.

The WiFi goes into a bad state if I stream audio via BlueTooth.  By going bad,  means I can't seem to ping anything on my local network including the gateway, but everything else seems OK (routes, IP adressed , etc).  The BlueTooth keeps functioning.  If I reconnect the Wifi, it works for a few seconds before going down again.  Something is wrong, but I can't figure out what.

X1 Yoga running Win 7 x64 In Device Manager, a Generic Bluetooth Adapter device comes up with the typical yellow exclamation point. "Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43) The event log has a bunch of entries with event ID 17:The local Bluetooth adapter has failed in an undetermined manner and will not be used. The driver has been unloaded. When I re-install the BT drivers, the correct two devices show up in Device Manager and the Bluetooth icon shows up in the taskbar. Hi, Since today I'm unable to enable/disable plane mode on windows 8 (it looks like plane mode is enabled but the visual switch automatically returns to it's default position). As a consequence, wifi is disabled and I'm unable to move the wifi switch button to the enable state (state is set to inactive). I had to use the "Diagnose and repare" button from the network panel to re-enable the WiFi. After some investigations, I finally found that is issue is caused by the bluetooth that cannot be disabled when my Yoga is associated with my Logitech DiNovo Edge keyboard. As this issue totally breaks the "plane mode", If someone has a solution (or maybe an explanation) to allow bluetooth disabling other than removing bluetooth link with this device, I'm really interested.

Answer:Yoga 11s - Unstable Bluetooth Audio connection

Hello Rebeck16!

It is possible that the bluetooth device is going to sleep occasionally to save power.

Try opening Device Manager, find your bluetooth device (On my Lenovo, it is a Broadcom bluetooth module. Yours may be an Intel). Right click to go to the device properties. Under the last tab, uncheck "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power" and hit OK.

This does not happen with laptop speakers. I tried uninstalling the bluetooth drivers as it was suggested, yet this did not solve the issue. Hope this issue can be solved Ken

Answer:Lenovo Yoga Bluetooth connection problem

I started having a similar issue when I installed the latest Wifi/BT driver.  Even after I rolled back to the older driver, something had changed. I no longer am able to use my BT Creative D100 speakers as it causes my BT mouse to act up (similar symptoms you are having; but my mouse never stabilized). In addition, my USB3 Ethernet adapter no longer automatically switches back to Wifi when I unplug it (I have to manually reconnect to my wireless router). I very much regret installing the new drivers.  Before that, my Yoga 13 was very solid/stable.

About 2 weeks ago my USB 3.0 port stopped working, after reading the comments on the interenet i presume this is from the Windows 8.1 update. I tried at first to sort it out myself by trying to uninstall and reinstall the port, I updated by BIOS, went through all the Device Manager and BIOS setup options to make sure it was working, and double checked windows updates. I am not particulary tech savvy but I thought this could not be too hard, as I it still lights up my external hardrive, it just does not detect it. So I know it is not physical damage.I then contacted Lenovo support who told me quite a few people were having this issue and that all I needed to do was download the updated Chipset and Intel Management Driver software. Clearly this guy had not heard of automatic updates and low and behold it did not work. I then rang back and the next guy was so inaudible due to his accent that I literally could not be bothered to ask him to repeat evey sentence, which was the first 5 minutes of our conversation. In my device manager I have an unknown device called USB Root Hub (xHCI), when I try to update the driver it says it cannot find any suitable match. I know this hub is the one to detect USB drives, so I don't understand why it will not find a driver.Around the same time I also noticed that my Bluetooth does not work properly! So I have attempted to sort this out as well. I  installed the latest Bluetooth driver from the Lenovo website and then "wallah" my Bluetoo... Read more

So I'm really at a loss with this issue.  I've done so much troubleshooting to no avail.  Removed soundcard and bluetooth and reinstalled.  Installed new drivers.  Deleting and repairing devices. Changing the WiFi to "Prefer 5.2GHz band".  Other troubleshooting based on discussions on other forums... The Problem. Brand new Thinkpad P71.  I have two of the same external speakers I've used with my iPhone via Bluetooth to stream audio and never had a problem.  The speakers are the Oontz 3XL. When I connect with my P71, it can go 24 hours or two minutes, but it will just suddenly stop playing audio.  The blue light on the speaker will turn off.  To get it to work again, I'll have to close the audio app and reconnect the Bluetooh.  Then it will run for anywhere from one minute to 24 hours and disconnect again. I also just bought a brand new Thinkpad X1 Yoga (2nd gen).  Exact same problem.  Did all the same troubleshooting. I mostly stream Sirius XM from a browser (and have tried different browsers as well).  I also play audio from iTunes.  The weird thing with iTunes is that when this happens, the Play/Pause button in the software will also stop working, unless I close the app and restart. It's definitely a Lenovo problem, since I am encountering the same problem on both systems.  I don't know if this could be related to BitDefender and/or Malware Bytes (both are inst... Hi all. Nice to meet you. I have a Lenovo Yoga 720 and am noticing two issues.  First, whenever I am on Wifi, my connection will occasionally drop and restart. It is becoming a challenge especially during Skype calls and even simple tasks like browsing. My wifi appears to be OK because I have another PC and Mac that does not have any connectivity issues. Is there something I can do investigate and solve this issues? Moreover, I have connected my Microsoft Sculpt Mouse which had worked great on another PC's. While I can connect it with my Yoga, the connection frequently drops and takes a couple of seconds to re-establish itself. If anything, these issues have become a pain. Any suggestions/ideas on how to rectify the situation would be greatly appreciated!

Hi
Surprise surprise, issues with bluetooth headset.

I've got mine to connect, but when I tried to do it for my partner, all seems to fail. The main issue I have is to make the microphone to work. The laptop seems to be able to recognise, but not use.

Here are some screenshots I took.

This is a screenshot of the bluetooth headset being recognised by her computer as it appears in the bluetooth device settings.

This is a screen shot of the bluetooth recognising the bluetooth microphone in the recording devices menu on my laptop.
This is a screen shot of the same bluetooth headset not being connected to her laptop in the recording devices menu.

If there are any suggestions, please feel free to post.

Thanks

Vince

Hello all,

I have a Motorola Rizr Z3 that I am trying to connect via Bluetooth to my computer. I bought a Bluetooth USB dongle and plugged it in, which shows as having installed with no conflicts.

In the devices menu, I selected Add Device, then set my phone as findable. Once Windows recognised my phone, I selected it, then selected to pair it with with a code. I've tried both automatically as well as creating my own pairing code to no avail. I get the system error below.

Quote:
Adding this Device to this computer failed.

Adding the device failed resulting in an unknown error. The reported error is 0x0004005.

Contact your device manufacturer for assistance.

Does anyone have any idea or suggestions in regards to this one?

Thanks in advance.

EDIT: I just tried doing the same thing on my laptop, which has a 64bit install of W7 RC, and it's the same thing. So, I'm willing to guess it's not hardware related, as least as far as the computers go. The cellphone itself may be another story.

My Lenovo Yoga2 Pro computer is not picking up the signal from my new router "extender" and I can't figure out why.  It does connect to the main router and a secondadry router I have hooked up (as it has in the past) with no problem.  We just installed a new router (Verizon)  in our upstairs bedroom but since the wifi signal we are able to receive downstairs in the kitchen is weak, we bought an "extender".  My wife's Mac Book and our iPhones sees and uses the signal from the extender but my computer doesn't.  My laptop is less than 2 years old - Lenovo Yoga 2 with an Intel network card (N 7260) for which I updated the driver but that did not help.  I tried restarting and resetting both the router and extender to no avail.  BTW, on my  phone without the extender in the kitchen, I get about 25Mbps, with it I get over 58Mbs download speed so you can see why I want to utilize the extender. Is the Network card dual band?  How can I tell (I can't when I look at the info in the devise manager).  I wonder if the extender is N band only and my network card is G band only?  The extender says 5G and 2.4 on the front. Thanks.

Answer:Yoga router connection issues Doesn't connect to all routers

There are 2 versions of the Intel 7260N: a single and a dual band.Your Y2Pro 7260N is probably single band, as that is the cheaper one. To check go to Device Manager, open the properties of your 7260 and go to the tab Advanced. If there is no option for Preferred Band (2.4 or 5 GHz), then you have the single band. The 7260N single band does B, G and N only on 2.4 GHzThe 7260N dual band does B, G and N on both 2.4 and 5 GHzThe 7260AC does the extra AC band, that is very fast if you use a corresponding AC router.  Stick with driver version 17.0.3.3This is the latest stable version.  Intel wifi cards and Lenovo firmware have never been a very happy marriage if it comes to support of different router brands and types.I have had many problems in the past with the Yoga 2 13 and the 7260N,switching to the Yoga2Pro with the 7260AC (and driver 17.0.3.3) helped a lot. But surely did not sove everything,as I still 'meet' routers that accept my Samsung S4 and cheap (and older) Samsung 530U3C laptop, but not my > ?1000 Yoga .... Why?Because they do not have the correct testing facilities (=enough different routers) where Lenovo is developing and testing their driver versions and laptop firmware ... Keep an eye on the postings in the topichttp://forums.lenovo.com/t5/Idea-Windows-based-Tablets-and/Re-Yoga-2-Pro-Wifi-Problems/td-p/1452437/...

My laptop is nearly three years old. Two days ago, I replaced a fan that had become worn down and was causing an irritating noise by opening the back of the computer and removing the old one. This worked without trouble, but afterwords, I began to observe a stutter in connection. Without warning, google chrome could freeze, and the connection would go from "Connected" to "Limited". Turning the on and off airplane mode resulted only in no connections being found, despite their obvious availibility on other devices. I was able to get a temporary fix out of disabling and enabling wireless networking through the control panel, but it would shortly start up again and otherwise requires a restart to fix.  Is this a hardware issue? Something that I bumped while fixing the fan? Or does it need a new network adapter entirely?

I'm connected to my WiFi but I deal with a lot of lagging, disconnect and it's always running the thinking circle at the pointer tip. I also deal with issues when typing in a browser, or online chat. My keyboard doesn't respond always. Please Help!!! Thank You In Advance

Answer:Yoga 900-13ISK Laptop (ideapad) WiFi Connection/Staying connected issues

 Hi Chad76 ,

Welcome to the Community Forums.

With the connectivity issue , I would suggest to turn off / uncheck power saving from the property box of the device network adapter as shown on this link.
Transmit power to highest if available , Roaming aggressiveness / tendency highest  then restart .
Observe the changes on your connection.

Likewise to limit start up items that may be running from the background that may pick off some of the bandwidth, you may set the pc on clean boot as shown here.

Update us how it goes.

Hi there,
I am using two different bluetooth headsets to connect to my computer. They
pair and connect just fine and even work with Skype. The problem is Vista
(business) disconnects the headset about every 30-60 seconds. Does anyone
have any ideas of how to keep the connection stable?
thanks!

Answer:Bluetooth Headphone disconnects

Are you using vendor's bluetooth drivers? If so, remove it, reboot and let your system install the Microsoft bluetooth stack. You may have to uninstall your hardware manually too (from device manager)

I have a Dell Latitude E6410 that finds and apparently "connects" to my Rocketfish RF-MAB2 bluetooth headphones. However, the headphones never show up as a device in the sound/volume settings, so the computer plays sound from the speakers rather than the headphones. Any help will be much appreciated.

Hi Guys,

I am trying to buy a new "sports headphone" to be used at the gym. Unfortunately, where I am, I only either have bluetooth 2.0 + NFC or Bluetooth 4.0 (only 1 or 2 options) without NFC.

I am really keen on NFC, as I have a S4 and really keen to try NFC, would really appreciate any feedback on this? Is BT2.0 with NFC a better option in terms of easy of use or a simple BT3.0 or BT4.0 without NFC be a safer bet?

I am not too sure how stable the NFC technology now is, so thats my only concern.

Would appreciate some feedback on this.

Thanks

Answer:NFC or bluetooth sports headphone?

Since NFC only works up to a few inches, it must be used just for the setup. The Bluetooth would then be used as the link between the headphones and phone.

I can't use my bluetooth headphone and wired earpiece simultaneously. whenever I connect my bluetooth headphone to my laptop, the wired earpiece stops working.I'm having Dell XPS L501X with Realtek High Definition Audio. Is there any way to make them work simultaneously?

Answer:Can't use bluetooth headphone with earpiece!!

I don't think there is because usually when you plug in a headset or turn on a bluetooth headset it disables the speakers, so I suspect that bluetooth essentially does the same to your wired headset - probably nothing that can be done about it unless you happen to find a setting in the realtek control panel that disables the 'feature'."I've always been mad, I know I've been mad, like the most of us..." I have a Insignia bluetooth wireless headphones that I want to use to listen to my Viso VO37L flat screen TV. So I put a Soundblaster Audigy soundcard in my spare computer and connected the TV headphone jack to the input line of the soundcard. I can now have the TV audio playing through the computers speakers. The problem is that no matter what I try I can't get the signal to the headphones. I have WIDCOMM bluetooth 5.1.0.3900 software installed on the computer and it works fine ,I can hear all Window XP sounds as well as the media player and other software audio. I tried using a few recording software programs thinking I could use the monitoring feature to hear the in-line input, but even though I could record the input and hear the replay I couldn't hear the monitor. This whole Idea seemed so simply but not I am thinking that "you can't get there from here". If anyone knows what I am missing I would appreciate the help. Thanks.

I own a macbook pro and runs windows 7 by bootcamp. The headphone is JBL e40bt.
I tried to use my bluetooth headphone it had always failed and it said there was no driver for "bluetooth peripheral device."
I then downloaded the ASUS driver thing from here: Can't find drivers for bluetooth headset - Windows 7 Help Forums
And the problem was solved.

But now when I connect my headphone, it is only good immediately after I connect it. As long as I play something continuously the headphone won't switch off by itself and nothing's wrong. But if there's no audio input from the computer to the headphone for like a minute and then I start playing music, the audio is skipped. I have to reconnect the device for it to return normal.

Please help me. It is quite annoying. It's okay if I am playing games and stuff but I when I'm playing music I can't let it stop.

Hi, When I plug my Lenova Yoga 13 into the mains to power, there is very audible buzzing noise coming from the heaphone output. This happens both with unpowered headphones as well as externally powered speakers that are plugged in on the same strip. The headphone issue is the one that is a particular concern as I can't understand why there might be grounding issues? I'm a UK user. Is this an uncommon issue?

Answer:Yoga 13 Headphone Hum / Ground Noise

Do you have anything plugged into any of the other ports, apart from the power supply and the headphones?Normally the hum is due to leakage currents flowing from the power supply earth. It may of course be due to excessive ripple from the power supply.

This is an odd one...

I have a Yoga 2 Pro, which has served me very well for over a year now.

But very recently I have encountered a problem now.

The computer thinks headphones are plugged in all the time now! No sound will come out of the speakers, despite all the windows 10 software telling me that there is no problem, and that the speakers are the only outlet. Even the sound controls recognises sound (the equaliser rise and fall).

Sound works perfectly when the headphones are plugged in. And even more recently, the notification that goes 'Information: you have just plugged/unplugged a device into the audio jack' is now alternating andspamming my laptop every once in a while, with sound coming in, and then turning off, with nothing in the jack!
Any advice would be welcomed, as I have trawled the internet to find a solution, yet have come up empty handed.

Answer:Yoga 2 Pro - Headphone Jack Problem!

Welcome to the Lenovo Community !

I'm not an owner of your model, but one thought came to mind.  Possibly the contacts inside the headphone port are sticking thus the machine thinks the headphones are always inserted.  Try repeatedly inserting and removing the headphone plug to see if the problem will clear.

So I've had a Lenovo Yoga 710-151KB for about half a year now and it's been pretty good so far, at least compared to my previous laptop. However, its headphone jack suddenly stopped working today. It was working fine before I went to bed last night, and I haven't downloaded anything or even visited any websites other than youtube between then and now. All of my drivers are updated and the headphones work fine with my phone. Also, the laptop seems to recognize when they're plugged in (sound stops coming out of the speakers), but it doesn't recognize what they are (ie the Sound application still lists them as "disconnected"). I tried plugging in my roommate's headphones too and the same thing happened. What should I do?

Answer:Yoga 710 Headphone Jack Problem

I used to be able to listen to music through a pair of Sony bluetooth headphones on my Wins 7 laptop. However, I am no unable to do so. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the bluetooth drivers with no success, removed and added the device. I followed a number of the steps in this thread : Bluetooth headset pairs but won't connect, not avail as playback devic , specifically the post from 11th Dec 2014 . Computer has been restarted multiple times.

I've attached an image of what I see. I can connect the headphones to the laptop, but can't listen to music. I also cannot set the headphones to default playback.

Atm, I'm listening through an aux cable, but any additional trouble shooting steps would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance

The sound quality on paired headphones is terrible. There is a background, high pitched whine being transmitted that makes it unbearable to listen.
A wired pair of headphone works fine. The headphones work fine when paired with my Note 4 & Sony TV. A second pair of bluetooth headphones exhibits exactly the same problem, so it is 100% definitely the laptop that is the problem.
Does anybody know how the fix this please?

I didn't know where to put this, or what kind of problem this is.
I have a pair of Bluetooth headphones and an ASUS bluetooth USB adapter.
When I turn on the Bluetooth headset, I have to manually go into the Sound settings and change the "Default" to the Asus Adapter.
Though ZId love to know if there is a fix to this, it's easy enough to live with. The thing I cant stand though, is when I do switch any default device in the Sound settings, I also have to close all programs that were open when making the switch. Otherwise, the programs (like iTunes and Media Player Classic) will contiue coming out of the computer speakers, or whatever the previous default was. Ive only had the ASUS Bluetooth adapter, and havent been able to try another adapter, but I have used different bluetooth Headsets/Headphones, and they all react the same. The program also exhibited on Windows 7, so I doubt its OS specific.
Is there any way to fix this, because this is absolutely annoying.

Answer:Problem: Have to restart programs when connecting bluetooth Headphone.

Did you ever find an answer? I just found this post and I'm having the exact issue. And agreed; very annoying.

Edit: Just found this page on reddit. It works! Swich the audio playback in iTunes to Direct Sound rather than Windows Audio.

I was just listening to some music for the first time on my new Yoga and noticed that it sounded terrible.  Thinking that maybe my headphones were to blame I tried some others that I was more familiar with (etymotic hf3) and realized it still sounded terrible.  Basically it sounded like PC speakers (exaggerated high end, muted bass, and really boxy midrange).

Anyway I did fix it by going into Settings -> Manage Audio Devices -> Properties -> Enhancements and selecting "Disable All Enhancements" and hitting applly.  It's pretty weird that there weren't any enhancements selected, but that definitely fixed it.

Hope that helps someone.
Cheers!

Hi Guys, For the Yoga 2 Pro owners out there, how much static do you have in your headphone jack?  I am loving everything about this laptop except for some noticeable static at low volumes and some backlight bleeding at the bottom of the screen.  I have tried two different headsets, my Senheiser HD 280 Pros and my Etymotic earbuds. I am curious how everyone elses behaves.  If this is normal I can probably live with it.  If I am the only one, I may get it replaced.  Build date 11/06/2013, purchased from Lenovo's website. Thanks,Dan

Answer:Yoga 2 Pro Static/Noise in Headphone Jack

Just wanted to add a little bit more detail to this. I just experienced the problem where you plug in your headphones but the audio stops playing. When I plugged the headphones in, there is no noise in the line. Perfectly clean. When I mute and unmute from the keyboard, the audio starts playing again, along with the static.I have the default format set to 24 bits, 192000 Hz. The static noise is present in all options but at 24 bits, 44100 Hz I also get a slight whistle. This plus the mute/unmute fix leads me to believe this is a software issue. If it were a ground issue, I would expect it to always be present?

Have you tested other BT (bluetooth) devices on the Vostro 1540? What BT device is installed in the Vostro 1540? What operating system are you running? You should check with iball- Chat for support and setup of their product. Assuming you read through its User Manual for troubleshooting steps.

Hello, I am an IT Technician for an electric cooperative. I am having a very odd issue that I can not seem to resolve and I am in need of assistance.

We have 4 Dell Latitude notebooks all running XP and we also have some very high end GPS units made by Trimble that we are going to be using to stake out points on a map. Whenever I connection through bluetooth with the GPS I am able to pair but the GPS control software never recognizes it when I chose the COM port assigned to it. Whenever I connect it directly through a cable(serial to usb) it never detects it either.

However this is the odd part, when I test this on my desktop I am able to connect just fine with the exact same method.

Any ideas?

Answer:[SOLVED] COM port and bluetooth COM port connection issues

Are you aware of any differences in your Desktop and the laptops? Like Service Pack is different, or maybe a BIOS setting?

My headphone jack doesn't output to the right headphone when I plug it in all the way. If I ever so slightly pull out the headphone jack about an 1/8th of an inch to the next knob it will output to both left and right headphones but with a high pitched noise in the background. Should I submit my laptop for servicing? Is there a fix to this issue? I have tried multiple headphones (which I have tested on other devices, that work fine on them) and this issue still persists.

I have a Yoga 900 laptop. I have had it for less than a year and up to this point it has worked well. It no longer recognizes my headphones when I plug them into the headphone jack. When I have headphones plugged in, the sound still comes from the speakers. When I right click on the speaker icon and choose playback devices, it only have my speakers listed. I have used three different types of headphones, updated the drivers, and rebooted the computer numerous times. I have searched for hours online to figure out this problem, but have had no luck.

My Yoga 720 13 will only detect any of my headphone on first plug, i got sounds and the laptop speakers remained inactive. but after unplugging it and plugging it back no sound came out of my headphone and laptop speakers remained inactive like first time plugged. it seemed my laptop detected the headphone on the second plug but won't make any sound because my laptop speaker remained inactive, and once i unplugged it my laptop went back to active and made sounds. Please help, i've tried to reinstall the audio driver but it didn't work. whenever i restart my laptop or wake it up from sleep it will work again, but only once on first plug. but on second trial of plugging it back, it won't work again. is this hardware issue ? or software issue ?

Just picked up my Yoga 2 Pro from best buy. Updated all drivers and BIOS, and the yellow screen issue does seem to be fixed. Thank you Lenovo!  Now, sometimes when I plug my headphones in, no sound will play on the headphones. Realtek recognizes that I plugged in headphones, but no sound will play through them. When I restart the computer it works fine.   Also, I have a USB 3.0 external HDD. I use this harddrive without any issues on my Lenovo Y400 using the USB 3.0 port.  The external HDD is a Rosewill RX-358 V2 Silver. There's no drivers or anything from the manufacturer and I did not need to install any drivers on my Y400.  After plugging it into the USB 3.0 port of the Yoga 2 Pro, the computer seems to recognize it, but doesn't install any drivers and under My PC (My Computer) an external drive does show up, but does not allow me to open or access it. After a few more tries the drive icon doesn't even show up nor does the drive spool up when I plug it in. However, plugging the external hdd into the USB 2.0 port works just fine. Windows instantly recognized the drive.  I have tried USB 2.0 flash drives with the USB 3.0 port so as far as I can tell the port is not broken.  Please help

Hello I recently got a Lenovo Yoga 211 Laptop/Tablet and am having problems with getting the laptop to detect the headphones/mic Once I plug the headphones (with built in mic) into the laptop, I can hear just fine. However, the mic fails to work. I was hoping to set the laptop to use the headphones for playback, and internal microphone for recording. However, I cannot find the headphones or the external microphone in the sound manager to do this. And once I plug in the headphones, the internal mic stops working entirely. I have a Thinkpad laptop that had this problem and I managed to use the Realtek Audio Manager to solve the problem. On the Thinkpad, I have it so that I can use the internal microphone even with the headphones plugged in. Is there a way to do that for the Yoga series? Any help would be appreciated! Thank you for your time!-Em

If you connect any Bluetooth Headset or Devices using Audio + Hands-Free Profile with Windows 10 build 10049 Bluetooth Stack, it uses only Audio and doesn't allow Hands-Free use.
I have tested 2 different devices, Windows registers both profiles, but never allows Hands-Free, so it isn't possible to use cortana, teamspeak or any Voip-Application by now.
With different Bluetooth Stacks, I tested Toshiba's, it works, but other issues occur.
Previously used devices may not connect at all, because they seem to be already registered to Toshibas Stack, but not working at all. Any suggestions or ideas?

when i plug in high quality headphones i notice a very high frequency sound(tested many headphones and multiple OSes in my laptop), got the sound card changed throgh warranty, but the problem persists, ive read that maybe is an EMI interference(video card maybe), an engeneering problem. do you also experience those? is there anything i can do?my laptop model is 20DM000VUS

Answer:thinkpad yoga 14 headphone jack high frequency sound

I do too! However I noticed, oddly enough, that the phenomenon goes away when I plug the thing into AC power. Also, when I first upgraded to W10, there were some major changes to the sound capabilites - I could watch a YouTube video comfortably at maybe 4 in W8.1 while I had to crank it up past 80 in W10. After updating to W10v1511 this issue has since been fixed, and the volume of this hissing has also decreased.I tried a good many things too. Reinstalling the sound drivers, and all that.

Have a good day.

I've had an unusual problem with my Lenovo Thinkpad Yoga headphone audio output on two separate occasions. About 4 months after I bought the laptop, I noticed that the Apple headphones, which I always used with this laptop, started putting out very low volume from the left earbud, but the right one sounded fine. I changed the L/R balance under speaker properties to increase volume from the L side, but it barely, if at all, increased it. I thought the headphones were the issue, so I replaced them with brand new Apple headphones of the same exact type. I used those in this laptop for about 5 months with no issues, until today I noticed decreased volume output in the L earbud again. Also, a few days ago I noticed that slightly twisting the audio jack in the port caused fluctuations in the audio output in only the L earbud for some reason. Also, increasing the L to R balance actually causes the R earbud volume to increase, with no change on the L side... I have uninstalled and updated to these drivers to no effect:Speakers (Conexant SmartAudio HD) | Driver Version: 6.3.9600.16384 | Driver Date: 8/22/2013Conexant SmartAudio HD |Driver Version: 8.65.9.0 | Driver Date: 10/18/2013 Any thoughts or suggestions would be much appreciated!

Hi all, I noticed an issue with my Lenovo X1 Yoga 2nd that I didn't have with my older laptop. My monitor is connected through HDMI and has speakers. But sometimes I want to connect headphones to listen using them but the system doesn't switch to the laptop audio adapter automatically based on the trigger of inserting the headphone jack.It would be much more convinient if it did rather than needing to open Playback devices everytime to switch back and forth. My older laptop with Realtek adapter did that. I'm not sure if it's something that Windows did or the Audio driver did. Any ideas how can I get it to switch automatically?
