NEVER buy a Lenovo I just bought a brand new Flex laptop from the Microsoft Store. A MAJOR PROBLEM for those who use the touchpad. It doesn't allow the user to turn off the drag in the mouse buttons (only). When I use the touch pad, i move the cursor (for example to select a radial button). However when I go to click on the left or right mouse buttons on the touch pad it's so sensitive to movement that it moves the curosor away from the radial button. There should be a way to map the touch pad. Lenovo blames the software and the touchpad company. Yet they chose this touchpad. I need support from one company. They sent me to talk with the touchpad company. Sorry. It's your Laptop Lenovo. To add to Lenovo's problem, their support is in India and it is almost impossible to understand the support person or their supervisor.

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

Hi all! I got a Lenovo Ideapad Flex 10 (Win 8.1) a week ago and I found that the touchscreen becomes completely unresponsive after about 10 - 15 mins of routine activity. My touchscreen freezes and I have to restart my laptop with the mouse to solve the problem. Does anyone know how to solve this problem with certain? I like this laptop but I?m thinking to return it because I don?t expect this kind of issues with a new PC.I tried to solve the problem with the support company in my country (Bulgaria - Europe) but they didn't give me a help. They think that the problem is in the drivers or  maybe in OS Win 8.1.I would like to know if Lenovo is informed about this problem and if there is a solution.Any suggestions?

Hi I had the same problems, go into your search option and search either sleep or hibernate, it gives u the option of never sleep, worked for me but took 2 weeks of research to sort the problem out. Good luck :-)

Hello, I bought a brand new Lenovo Flex 2 15.6" laptop today. Started using it and realized a bizarre problem with the touch screen. I can't swipe in from the left or right side to open up the charms bar, and when I open the desktop feature, the touch screen won't allow me to click on icons. Strangely, when I open a browser inside the desktop, I can click on web links fine with the touch screen, but anything outside the browser doesn't work. I was so excited to use my new laptop and now I am just frustated. Any help is appreciated!

My wife's brand-new christmas Lenovo Flex 2 15 had the exact same problem. After spending a huge amount of time googling around and then waiting on the phone to talk to a lenovo person for a long time I finally got a solution. Try it, it might work for you and it certainly didn't hurt anything. Here's how you do it:(1) Shutdown the unit (not restart). When shutdown the power button should have not light on.(2) Unplug the power supply from the wall AC and wait 30 seconds.(3) Get a ball-point pen.(4) Plug in the power supply into the wall AC. You should see a little tiny led light to the right of the powere button (towards the screen hinged).(5) Poke that LED reasonably hard with the ball-point pen with constant pressure for at least 5 seconds. This is somekind of motherboard hard reset.(6) Release the presssure, remove the ball point pen.(7) Press the power button  and power it up.(8) AT THIS POINT THE PROBLEM WAS COMPLETELY FIXED FOR ME. HOPE IT WORKS FOR YOU, TOO.

So I am sitting here on my MacBook Pro which in my opinion does not have any wireless issues whatsoever, it works. I still own this ThinkPad with a garbage wireless card, and I feasted my eyes on an Intel 7260 but lo and behold, it isn't on the whitelist! Scouring eBay and Amazon I did find a FRU, but would the number of that FRU be the same on the Hardware list? Lets see, well I cannot even find it. All I get are Page Not Found errors which to me is a hilarious joke of Lenovo's support. What does this mean for me? Is my X230 at a very very unnecessary end of life? Should I like, fork out 1400 for an "upgraded" model that probably won't fix most of my problems? My problems is money and saving money. Should i now look elsewhere? No, because I'd rather keep my money to actually FIX my current laptop's problems (the N2200 is a garbage card and would like to replace it with something that's up to date to todays technology but that isn't happening by the sounds of it) I am frustrated with my current laptop's problems and it's having a large effect on my studies. And possibly you can also lose customers by inadequate non-existent support and failure to give us the freedom to actually let us upgrade for those who do. For those who don't, more like.

Hello,I've been using a Lenovo S210 Touch for nearly a year now and I have never experienced any problems such as this before. My laptop's keyboard is not working properly. Sometimes only certain keys work and other times they dont. Also when I press down a single key, multiple keys are typed. This is extremely frustrating because I highly prefer the keyboard to the touch screen and I would welcome any solution.I have already tried:cleaning keysreseting computer in safe modeturning on and off numlockturning off filter keysthanks

Please update the drivers to latest version.
 
Check in external keyboard.
 
Check in the onscreen keyboard.
 
As you have mentioned the multiple keys are type check if the keys are stuck.

Lately the laptop has been dropping connections and download speeds were so slow so sure enough i thought the router was dying.  I tested my Galaxy S5 and my old 9 year old Dell Xps 1540 and they both were humming at my advertised speed which are 30mbps down and 10mbps up.  My brand new lenovo is averaging anywhere from 2.5-5mbps down and around 9-10 up(which is where it should be).  Drivers are updated it is a windows 10 machine.  I don't think i had these issues when it was under windows 8.  How the hell can a new machine have such an erratic wifi connection?  Its obviously either they are supplying faulty drivers or the wireless card is going bad.

Hi, I have the same problem on my new Flex 2 Pro-15. The wireless card is Qualcomm Atheros AR956x. I noticed the problem after upgrading from Windows 8 to 8.1, but I'm not sure it was working good before. The wifi signal is very low: with my old laptop in the same table I have almost full signal, with this Lenovo I get the minimum and somtimes it doesn't find any connection. I updated the drivers but it didn't help... I hope it's not an hardware problem. Any ideas? Thanks

I decided, in all my wisdom, to customise XP a bit. I thought that a new bootup screen would be a change from the norm and would look good.However, I followed the instructions given on the website click here and I am in a pickle.Now Windows XP starts to boot with the new screen showing and then, just before the login screen appears, the computer restarts.I cannot get to a DOS prompt to restore the original file. I cannot get access to my machine in any way. I have tried last known good configuration and the same thing happens. I have tried safe mode and the same thing happens. I am at a loss as to what to do now. Answer:Major XP bootup problem (or lack of it)

It looks like 'boot.ini' is messed up. Your best bet in my opinion is to do a repair, the only problem with this option is loosing your XP Updates, around 25 Meg at the moment from SP1 on just the critical ones. Everything else should be as before when completed. Configure your computer to start from the CD-ROM drive (Boot from CD). Insert your Windows XP CD (Your XP Licence key will be required at some point), restart the computer. When the 'Press any key to boot from CD' message is displayed on your screen, press a key to start your computer from the Windows XP CD.Press ENTER when you see the message To setup Windows XP now, and then press ENTER displayed on the Welcome to Setup screen.Do NOT choose the option to press R to use the Recovery Console. In the Windows XP Licensing Agreement, press F8 to agree to the license agreement. Make sure that your current installation of Windows XP is selected in the box, and then press R to repair Windows XP.Follow the instructions on the screen to complete Setup.

I sent in my laptop for repair as the graphics card was reporting code 43 (hardware issue) and wasn't working. I just got it back, and it's not reporting the error, but I can't even start GPU-based games. Previously, games would fall back to running on the CPU. If the OS is not detecting the Touchscreen functionality of the machine (like in this image), can you consider one of the following:
1. Hold the Shift Key and restart the machine to boot into the System Recovery Options screen. Once there, try to select any of the options by touching the screen and observe.
2. Shutdown the machine, press the OneKey Recovery button and select System Recovery. On the recovery menu, try to select any of the options by touching the screen ando bserve..

If the Touchscreen still doesn't work on one of the options above then it's likely that the digitizer have gone faulty and you need to contact lenovo for service.
 
Otherwise, if the Touchscreen is working then consider doing a System Restore or System Recovery to isolate the issue on the OS level.

I bought Lenovo flex 4 80VE000FUS, I observed small sound when I tap on touchpad, I can observe this working in a silent room. Seems there is a space between the electronics beneath the surface.  When tapping the surface there is a clicking sound produced. Can this be normal in all flex 4 or is this problem with mine.

Hi, I recently bought Lenovo Flex 2 15 with a 10 point capacative touch screen amd looking to buy a stylus to use on it. I have tried using a standard capactive stylus (one of those ones with a black rubber tip), but it doesnt seem to work at all. I am a designer and thought the touch screen might work well with a stylus on programs lile photoshop and sketchbook pro. Are there any stylus' that anyone can recommend that will work woth this laptop? Please help!

Hello. I have a friend who has upgraded her Lenovo IdeaPad Flex 15 laptop from Windows 8.1 to Windows 10. We're not sure if the upgrade broke the touch screen or whether it wasn't working beforehand. We've tried various things to get it to work, including the item here...https://support.lenovo.com/gb/en/documents/ht104469... and we've tried disabling the option to 'allow the computer to turn off this device to save power' in the HID USB devices. Actually, there is a device "HID compliant touch screen" that appears to be working correctly, and we get the keyboard symbol in the system tray, so the computer seems to be seeing the touch screen okay - it just doesn't work at all. My friend phoned Lenovo, who took the machine details and advised her two things...1. Gave her a link to try for drivers from the Lenovo website. The link appeared to be for AMD drivers and was for the Flex 15D computer - not very impressive.2. Told her if this didn't work (and I'm fairly sure it wouldn't) to revert back to Windows 8.1 - also not very impressive. What to do now I wonder? Thanks for reading this, and for any help you might be able to give.

Dear Lenovo, I've just bought this laptop about 3 months ago. First the touch screen giving issue, so went to the service center and they repaired by saying there are problem with the motherboard. Then after a week, problem with windows booting and the touch screen issue still hasn't resolved. When i turn on my laptop it prompts cannot detect hard drive. I've been going to the service center multiple number of times but only worsening my problem. I am so frustrated now and don't know what to do. Can Lenovo replace my laptop ?Does anyone here have similar issue and have a solution because i just loose hope with the service center ? Please kindly reply me as soon as possible. Thank you.

Hi all,
 
i just purchased a new Lenovo Flex 2-15D Laptop for my Child.
 
I just started it an on the right side of the screen there are some points on the screen where the screen is brighter flickering. It looks as the screen is registering input touches, even if there are none.
 
In fact, working with the device is only possible if i'm switching thr touch device off in the Device manager in windows, otherwise the lapttop closes windows and is doing some other nonsense.
 
The same trouble comes up after upgrading on windows 10.
 
Is there anyone could help with tht issue, please?

Hello, I have had my Lenovo Flex 4-1470 laptop for about half a year now, have always taken careful precaution when carrying it, etc. Recently, Upon touching the touchscreen on the right side and bottom of the screen, I am experiencing these "ghost" or "phantom" touches where I touch that part of the screen and it presses on a random part of the screen. The middle and left sides of the screen do not seem to be affected, however, the top of the screen seems to refuse to calibrate to my finger correctly despite calibrating the screen many times. I have updated the touchscreen driver to find that I already have the best and newest version so that cannot be my issue. I have seen that this was a common issue on the Yoga 3-14, and that there was a firmware fix to this... So far the only "fix" I have seen to this issue is disabling the touchscreen altogether, but I bought this laptop specifically for the touchscreen capabilities. I have not physically damaged the laptop, so I am curious on why this is happening.  Is there a firmware fix or something to that extent or will I have to send the laptop to Lenovo and get it repaired? Any Help would be appreciated --Kaitlyn

Thank you for writing in to the Lenovo Forum - happy to have you here today.
 
Ghost touches on the screen are most of the time caused by a faulty digitizer (this is the touch screen panel that enables touchscreen functionality) or the Touch panel module (LED panel w/ Touch).
 
Can you try the following? 
 

Under theDevice Manager> Human Interface Devices, can you do a right click and disable on anything that says HID-compliant device (this is the driver that controls the touchscreen). 

 

When finished, reboot the system and observe if you still get the same issue.

Got this notebook two days ago and tried to use the tablet mode. I realized that the touch screen wasn't working and went to check the device manager only to find out that the HID compliant touch screen driver is missing. While checking, I noticed that Wacom device driver also could not start as well (Code 10). Does anyone have a clue as to what is going on? I really would like to use the tablet mode of this laptop instead of having to return it due to the touch screen not working.

Can anybody help.Just recently apppeared a problem with touch screen - stoped working.After some awakes from sleep mode - it works unproperly. Restart helping not to awake at all.System 8.1, 64bit, all drivers up-tp-date. Any suggestions?

It might be related to the sleep settings for USB. I don't have my Flex 15 on me currently, however, if you can find the touch panel as a USB device in Device Manager, ensure it and the parent hubs are not on power saving modes as per the below post:

I've just recently bought my son a Flex 2-14 which he thinks is great. However today the mouse pad stopped working which has put a downer on a new and smart laptop. As I'm a windows and laptop user myself, I've checked the driver, ensured that it's enabled, checked to ensure that it's the latest version, made sure that it's toggled on from a keyboard perspective. However it refuses to recognise any physical interaction. As the screen is touch sensitvie and the USB mouse is working fine we can get away with this. But really why is it not working? The only thing I can guess is that as you turn the screen and keyboard around to into touch screen mode the hardware recognises this and disables the mouse pad. It looks to me that it's now stuck in this mode which is really frustrating. It;s getting to the point that I might aswell take it back as it's not fit for purpose. Any help would be very much appreciated as anything I try to do does not solve the problem?

Hi all,I?m experiencing an odd snapping sound and major flex on the right side of my T400, specifically near the optical drive. Initially, I thought I could live with it, but it snaps under light pressure and is becoming more and more disruptive and problematic when I pick up the laptop in certain situations. I did some research on your machine and found its entry in the Personal Systems Reference. Machine type 3113-94U does not support MultiTouch, unfortunately. This information can be found in the link on page CML3-4 (use Ctrl+F to find it faster.)
 
MultiTouch, however, means to be able to use three distinct points on a touchscreen at once, not being able to use different touch inputs. I think you should be able to use your fingers to touch objects on the screen, though the pen might be easier.

From time to time my flex 2-15 touchscreen triggers touchevents anywhere on the screen repeatedly. They are almost stuck to one place but sometimes seem to move slightly. When this happens there are round about 2-3 events triggered every second at one place. So this failure behaives like double click, which makes it hard to use the Laptop while this failure occurs. It causes windows to minimize and maximize or closes tabs and windows. The behaivour stops as unexpected as it startet. I have no idea what causes the error but it is really annoying. Does anyone else have this problem or any suggestion what could cause it? Of course I cleaned the screen and yes, the error continues after restart. So I am pretty certain it has nothing to do with dirt or any software-problem, as it even occurs on Login-Screen.

When you press the Power to turn it on start hitting the Fn+F2 and F2 only simultaneously.
It should get you to a bios settings
   Go to the Configuration tab and look for the "Hotkey Mode" option Toggle that to Disable the hit F10 or Fn+F10 to save and Exit
 
It should switch the use of F keys to legacy

Enter Sound in the search box, and then tap or click Sound.

Tap or click the Levels tab. Use the sliders to adjust the volume and boost of your microphone.
Tap or click OK, and then tap or click OK again to close Sound.

Question: HP lack of support

I have a x360 it scrashed, worked for hours online with teck and them they said we will send you a box i got it the next bad now i have been over a week for a return shipping lable that i was told would be in the box call after call goes no were, this is the same proble i account with my HP840 that was found to have the wrong parts and hard drive when i sent it to a purervisor and he looked inot, i sent the hp840 back to the factory twicw and it came back worst that when i sent it of, HP has a very bad QC/QP dept that need to have everyone of them ran off. even this new x360 has had problems straight out of the box, its time to close the door on HP as i have given them every change and move on th dell or something elese, I know how a computer works and can or may just build my own with American made parts

about a year ago i bought an HP dv6605us laptop.

i wasnt sold on vista so i un-installed it and put xp on.

found enough drivers to make it function but its not enough now. i need something that'll let me use the video out.

just incase i figured i'd leave the Vista recovery partition still on the computer.

i boot up the pc, hit f11 for system recovery....nothing.

is it not possible to "recover" vista through xp? its probably a stupid question lol.

i know this is the only place i'd find the best answers. thanks guys.

Question: Lack of HP Support

I have had so much stress after buying a brand new HP 250 G4 notebook! I've only had it a couple of months but since the start there have been browser and sound issues. Wish I'd got my  money back! I've spent hours on the phone to many HP customer support reps who have tried to fix the issues. I've even had my notebook sent off for repairs. When it was returned to me the sound issues had not been resolved despite the speakers having been replaced. I called HP again who then got me to install new drives. Issue still not fixed. My case has been kept open and I've not heard from any HP rep for a week. I know I'll have to call them! I'm fed-up and wouldn't recomment HP to anyone! Anyone else have any advice on how to get some decent support. My issue has been going on for two months! I'm based in the UK!

I have been looking at video,s on youtube but need more hardware advice. My Lenovo flex has boot up issues. On turning it on you see the usual start up logo Lenovo and then nothing else happens. I started with checking if it was the battery and took that out. (There is no warranty left on this) switched back on and still the same. Then went on to check the hard drive and was told to remove this and switch back on. Now I see boot menu manager as there is now no hard drive I'm not sure if this is indicating if it was a hard drive problem. This is where I need advice I will put the hard drive back in while I am waiting on a reply.

Hi i Have a problem with my FLEX 2 PRO, seen a forum for yoga pro. I have patiently tried most of Solutions upgrades etc.
 
NO LUCK, i had to convince myself to Downgrade to WIN 8 again from 10, still it doesnt work i have BROADCOM 802.11n Network Adaptor at present( after installing other Drivers etc  - got fed up with this machine).
 
I dont see how Support works from UK either, i was owing a DELL XPS i7 for 4 years never had a issue.
But really unhappy for spening 700p on this PC,
 
Should there be anyone who can help please advice.

hi im new to the forums and i cant figure out how to make a new thread but i have a lenovo flex three and i bought it to take notes on it but my capacitive pen wont write, i try and draw a line and it just glitches out and graws dots and dashes and has never drawn a solid line thus far. Using my finger works fine but i would really like to write with a pen

Usually the pens that work with capacitive screens have a soft rubber tip or what looks like a smooth metal mesh tip. They mimic the use of a finger on the screen, but with a bit more fine control. Machines with active digitizers, on the other hand, work by completely different mechanics and offer very fine control. Hence you try with different stylus to confirm which is defective.

I'm Emanuele, from Italy. I just write here becouse I have a very big problem. I have installed recently latest BIOS UPDATE and all was good until my HD was broken. I buyed 2 different HD becouse the first one don't work. I tryed to make a fresh installation of alot of O.S. but I got freeze system on all and only 1 configuration work. I go to explain: - HD WD 500GB new one... no one O.S. work (Win10 x86-x64, Win8.1Up3 x86-x64, Win7 Ultimate SP1 x86-x64, Ubuntu 15.xx, and many more linux) ALL FREEZE on first boot after installation reboot. - SanDisk SSD X100 64GB... only 1 O.S. WORK: Win7 Ultimate SP1 x86... all others configurations don't work and freeze on first boot after installation reboot. I think that latest BIOS UPDATE isn't good from lenovo... so, I ask to you a solution: How I can install anyone of them O.S. without got a freeze screen on boot ? Is it possible to make a DOWNGRADE to latest BIOS first of latest bios update ? Just for tell you I'm an expert on PC and tryed alot of tests with alot of others HDD, BIOS options like SecureBOOT and Legacy options, tryed to use DVD and PenDriver installations, and many more tryes. I'm actually new to lenovo forum and this is my first post so apoligies in advance of any typo or error.             I have lenovo flex 15, its running great with hybrid sshd. i recently purchased kingston ssd (512 gb). I was able to install windows in it successfully but after some usage it got freeze and went into not responding state, i then restarted it and it gave my Disk Read Error at bios time. I tried to install windows 2-3 times again to make sure of windows installation and all went perfect again until it gave the very same error again. since then it sometimes boot perfectly (but after soome usage become unresponsive) or sometime it directly give Disk Read Error.             After some research i though the ssd is faulty and i had to buy another one. This time i bought intel ssd 520 series 240gb. Sadly it repeated the very same behaviour again. Like its giving disk ready error most of the time.  After some research i found that i need to change sata mode from IDE to AHCI, and i tried to change it but looks like there is no such option in my laptop Bios menu (not even in advance option). Hello Guys! I have problems recently on my Lenovo Flex 14. I can't change the brightness at all. When i press the f11 and f12 keys, nothing happens. Brightness doen't change but there is an indicator (somewhat similar to volume bar) but its not moving when you press the keys. Thanks for anyone who will help me.

Hello. I have a problem with the screen of my Lenofo Flex 14. The issue is that when I turn on the laptop and the screen looks like the first image, so I start to open and close the laptop and every time I do that the screen changes to the second and third image and so on, until I get the screen for type my password. Do you know if it is caused by a controler or by a hardware issue on the flex?Can you guide me to fix this problem? Thank you.

Does changing the mode "turbo mode" / "normal mode" / "power saver mode" in Energy Management make any difference?I would suggest to bring it to the service center to get it looked at.

I got a lenovo flex 2 on Window 10 which is 0% now and it shows plugged in but not charging  -I know it is not the Energy Management system as it is 0%-I have also tried to delete the Microsoft ACPI- Compliant Control Method Battery and restart my laptop-I have also tried to hold the power button for 40second after it is shut down.  Any other solution which I can still try?Thanks

Hi, I bought this flex 2 14 laptop about 40 days ago. Everything works fine unitl two days ago. Once I start the laptop and log into my account. The screen twinkle a few times and then the system just log off automatically and the external mouse doesn't work at all. Sometimes this problem happens only once sometimes it happens several times after I re-log into my account.   There are some details here:  1. I am using external mouse and keyboard, the external mouse doesn't work after logging off automatically, I have to re-insert the kit to let it work, but the external keyboard works fine.  2. The day before this happens, I renewed my Mcafee antivirus software. But no new software installed.  3. I am using google chrome browser when this error happens, and so far other websites such as IE works fine. Please give me some advices I really appreciate.

I'm curious who has had enough problems with the lack of 64 bit software support that they are considering going with the 32 bit version when Windows 7 is released in the Fall.

Personally, the lack of a Cisco VPN client, some poor software support, and a few driver issues, is really making me reconsider going with 64. Then again, I have not tried out the XP virtualization.

Not me. I've got all the driver support I need to productively use x64. The only shortfall I see, for me, is the last of Flash for 64-bit. For that I just use 32-bit Firefox.

Ever since I got my new pc I have been attempting to contact MS Support in the UK to answer a very simple problem.

I bought Windows Media Center from Arvato GmbH in Germany. Their email address is none functional. When I bought it it fitted into the pc great, then my pc broke.

I have a new pc and nobody seems to want to help. I called the UK support number to be told that the number has changed to a 'less expensive' number - so I dialed that. After the usual robitic responses I actually reached a human being, although speaking a barely distinguishable accent. I told her the full history. 'Now let me get this straight, you have Windows 8.1'? 'Yes' I said 'but the problem is Media Center product key not working in Add Features in 8.1 - I have paid for a product that I cannot download.'

After several attempts to call them back, I got a phone ringing somewhere, and ringing, and ringing - you get the picture? Then another robot told me there is an error *click*

After another few attempts I gave up.

If Apple Macs were not so damn expensive I would stick MS where the sun does not shine.

Edit: Wow! finally got to 'speak' to MS via social media software. Gave them the details, we shall see ........

I purchased windows 8 pro and media center retail product keys when 8 first came out..
I recently re-used both key numbers to install on a NEW computer. this is allowed with retail keys, but it is limited in time frame.. You can not do this with oem keys... First disconnect from your internet connection, input the key, activate via phone.. had to do it for the pro key and then again for media center

Has anyone had problems with the Lenovo Warranty not being honored? I sent my laptop to the Depot (USA) and they kept my laptop for 3 weeks and sent it back without repairing it.  The symptom was the laptop was overheating and shutting off. I have only owned the laptop since January, and the overheating started in April/May, i initially thought it was a 64-bit driver problem.  After sending it to the depot, they claim the following 1 - They claimed something had been spilled on the laptop, voiding the warranty2 - They were going to charge me $950 to repair3 - For my money they would not send back the replaced parts so I could verify what had happened I wanted the parts back so I could  a) see if a spill had occurred b) see if someone at a work site had sabotaged it. They sent my laptop back withyout answering any of my questions.  Starting to wonder if the warranty is worth diddly. Model is 4062-4JU.

I am returning the Dell described below. Decided to do that on or about Sept.23 and I began applying to Dell for their RMA number. The timing of my ordering and then receiving the Dell was an almost impossible time. I am blessed with the C.O.P.D. disease and a head cold began to make it's presence known---and how it did!! Still have it and you never want the combination of these two "killers" to hit you together. I began to have my anxiety depleted when I could not get in touch with Dell; or rather no contact with any sympathetic soul and in fact, it was pretty much just the opposite. Support in India is strictly for no one. Well, they got my Scotch/Irish anger burning and I didn't give up---it was like not being able to contact anyone at Dell Support. I really and truly felt helpless; it was like no one was home.
Dell kept saying that I had 21 days to return the computer and I had among the several items in the computer box this one page of printed info with Dell logo in several places so I scanned it and sent it attached to one of my many emails to anyone at Dell I could find a name for. Today, I got my answer. Who ever approved it said he(?) was making an exception and gave his approval. Don't really see how an exception was made when the "letter" I scanned and sent to them clearly said 30 days and in which I was well within the boundary. I have Kaspersky running on my PC but it let in some malware that required a complete disk reformat and reload of all software. I folowed Kaspersky's advice for thi9s situation but it won't accept the access code. They have ignored 4 emails for help.Anybody with ideas? Maybe I have to cut my losses and use different protection.

I have a: Ideapad Flex 15 , Intel i7 Intel Wireless N-7260Using a ubee DDW365 modem For the first month I had no problems with the laptop. But, after some updates the Wifi seems to drop randomly and refuses to show any available connections. I have tried using many solutions for this but nothing seems to work. Is there a fix for this?

I Have a Lenovo Flex 2 14 laptop whih just got ended up with its warranty a week back, till yesterday everything was just fine but today when I switched on laptop and it was showing low battery and on same time , connected it with the charger. I noticed some thing strange that its not at all getting chrged instead it says 0% available(plugged in ,but not charging). I tried un-installing the battery adpater n other driver drom device list on control panel and rebooted but it didnt helped out. I am asking for a favour from experts here to throw some light to sort out this issue, hoping for a quick response from your side.  Thanks & Regards,Mithun

Hi Even i have the same problem with my Flex2 14. I tried the solution iof removing battery, holding power button for 30 seconds and reinstaling battery. i also tried with uninstallaing and reinstalling the AC adapter and ACPI. Nothing works. Finally tried to approach lenovo service centre but to my surprise, they tod that battery is not available(?!!). Appreciate if somebody from lenovo is kind enough to resolve my problem.

Hi gyus. First of all, sorry for my english  Well. Firstly, I install all upgrades to Win8, including some Lenovo and Intel Stuff.Secondly, I found aviable upgrade to Win 8.1 in Store, so I download it and after long, long time, WinUpdate reset my Lenovo Flex. I thought that at this moment, before upgrade, i'll have Win 8.1, but no.After few minutes, on screen i can see, that "Preparing to restore Windows 8" God **bleep** it. I'll try to delete Opera, Chrome and other installed apps but still the same. What can I do to get those f.....n Windows 8.1? Thanks and greetings for all

Hi everybody,I have a problem for several weeks and I need your help please!  when I bought my flex 2, it was came with windows 8 64 bit installed on it. Eveything was working fine; Then I did the upgrade to windows 10 64 bit. Since then I can not use HIBERNATION mode in "power option".when I click on hibrnation on the "power option" it seems that everything is normal. Windows takes some moments to save data in "hiberfil.sys" file (because it takes longer than when clicking on SHUT DOWN button when trying to turn the laptop off). Then, when I want to turn on my flex 2, It starts for a moment showing LENOVO logo then after about 4 seconds it suddenly turns off !!!. So I need to press power buton again to turn computer on. This time it starts normally( but much longer than ususal start up) but it is a FRESH start not caming out of hibernation.It seems that the data on hiberfil.sys file became destroyed.I tried to disable and enable hibernation, remove hiberfil.sys file, update all drivers, windows upsate, disk scan, system restore, defragment, scan registry with some softwares, boot from safe mode, everything that I thought would be a solution but NOT even a single progress...I am very disappointed! Now I can't resume my work and every time I should shut down the computer and wait for a fresh start up...sorry for long explanation. I hope someone can find a solution  and help me...thanks.

Right now I have a problem with the w key on my laptop key board.  For all the other keys it registers a press when you feel the key give way.  However for my w key you do not have to press it, only rest you finger lightly on it and it will register a keystroke.  This is a problem for me because I rest my finger on W S and E all at the same time which leads to a lot of random w's throughout my typing.  Let me know if there is anything I can do other than replace my keyboard.

Try if you have the same issue using an external USB keyboard.
 
As the way described seems to be mechanical in nature and may need hardware servicing.
If your warranty is still active, best to call in technical support to avoid voiding warranty.
 
Users are not required to do manual troubleshooting other than checking if the W key is cleared from foreign materials causing this using compressed air cans.

Hello All, i was wondering if anyone can help.Have bought a Flex 10 from Oman and am looking to install windows 8 64bit OS on it. However the bios boot manager doesn't recognize any 64bit OS install attempt, be it with a CD Drive or USB stick. If i try and use a 32 bit version of windows it comes up and i can install as normal. I have also noticed that the bios says 32bit bios even though the processor is 64bit? Is there 2 different types of bios?thanks James

Does your BIOS have a setting for HPET? If so, try setting it to 64 bit if not already set.

I bought a PC from Watford Electronics last July, and emailed them to ask about a problem with Windows XP. No reply, so I emailed Microsoft in the USA and they replied: ?Thank you for contacting Microsoft Customer Service. If you are using Windows XP and it was purchased outside of North America, your best resource for assistance is the Microsoft subsidiary in United Kingdom. There are significant programming differences between North American and localized versions of software. You will be best assisted by the subsidiary that specializes in your specific version.?So I emailed Microsoft UK, and their response was that because the software is OEM (original equipment manufacturer) then support is provided by the manufacturer.Two more emails to Watford Electronics, with no response. I have just found the email address for the managing director, Shiraz Jessa, so will try him.

Hey Lenovo team, The P50 website for Lenovo India ( http://shopap.lenovo.com/in/en/laptops/thinkpad/p-series/p50/ ) does not have a configurator & online purchase platform unlike the US website ( http://shop.lenovo.com/us/en/laptops/thinkpad/p-series/p50/ ). I emailed TheDoStore support ([email protected]), requesting information on the configuration options available in India and got the following response: "... unfortunately we don't have an expert who would be able to respond to you. We would like you to please call 1800 3000 9991 where an expert will be handle your query and give you the best possible advice.  ..."  - Not the most encouraging of emails. And the 'expert' team at 1800 3000 9991 was not very competant. They could confirm only the configuration that was available in stock and could not even confirm if other options (see below) were either out-of-stock or not-launched/not-available in India. Could somebody help me out with the following?Processor: Are the i7-6820HQ & Xeon E3-1505M options available?Display: Is the 4k IPS non-touch available?Storage options?And what are the buying options for the P50?Is 1800 3000 9991 really the only option? Or are there other resellers? Is it expected to be listed elsewhere online, where I can see and verify the configuration, rather than just trust an 'expert' over a phone call?

Right after i installed the 64 bit version, i assumed that chrome already had such a version released, but after a closer inspection i realised it was still a 32 bit one. After looking further into the matter i found out Google only released it for Linux users, which is beyong my reasoning.

After that, i tried firefox, which apparently had a 64 bit version available, yet it asked for no apparent reason for me to give my administrator name and pass, which were incorrect according to the installer, and it exited. It eventually crossed my mind to right click and select 'run as admin' and it worked fine.

Also, i have noticed the built in IE browser is 32 bit aswell, which seems odd.

On top of all those, is the information that adobe flash player does not support 64 bit browsers true? EDIT: i tried using the 64 bit version of firefox to browse youtube, but it keeps saying i need an additional plugin, i install the adobe plugin, yet it keeps giving me the same error, which to my mind means adobe does not support 64 bit yet?

Hi as of yet I have not seen any real support for the 64 bit browsing, so for the time being you will have to live with the 32bit unless someone else knows of a answer

I have been trying several times over the past few week to get a response from Auslogics using their web based form (the only way I can find of contacting them) and have had no response whatsoever from this. This is concerning a registered version of BoostSpeed. Has anyone found a way of getting a response from them?

Can anyone tell me how to get Kaspersky to react and give support. I reported a problem 2 months ago, Kaspersky have taken on average 7 days to respond to each e-mail when they ask me to carry out various test. I am now no further forward and KIS is letting Malware in. Has anyone found a clever way to put the proverbial boot in? It is sad that their support is so slow when they get such an accolade for their IS package from PC Advisor.

No Security program can stop everything that is why you need good back up the likes of Malwarebytes or Superantispyware.Are they false positives or genuine malware infections.

So with the new round of games coming out I decided it was time to add another Radeon HD 5770 to my system so I could rock some massively overclocked dual GPU goodness.


Well think again! After screwing with this system for about four weeks I have determined that CrossfireX is bogus and I should have just attempted to sell my original 5770 and buy a better single card.



I'm currently on a clean (SUPER CLEAN) install of amd_catalyst_11.5b_hotfix_8.85.6rc5_win7_may25 drivers and using the latest amd_catalyst_11.5_cap3_may26_110525 application profiles. Windows 7 Ultimate x64, everything up to date. MSI Afterburner used for overclocking profiles.. etc.




The new games I was wanting to max for their splendid eye candy:


Crysis 2 - will run in Crossfire mode with little scaling evident, although if any AA is enabled there are all kinds of screwy visual defects going on. So in the end it runs better with Crossfire disabled and graphic options set to medium.


Need for Speed Shift 2 Unleashed - This game will run fine with Crossfire enabled, however only GPU #2 is being used, so 0% scaling. Upon further investigation the use of both GPUs was disabled via ATI's application profiles shortly after the game was released due to major problems with it.


Total War Shogun 2 - Now this game is one that is supposed to scale well when running in Crossfire mode. WRONG, because upon launch the entire system will freeze as soon as the intro movie starts... Read more

In May of 2011, I purchased a ThinkPad for my son to take to college.  With it, we paid extra for a warranty that we thought would ensure that he would be taken care of, if any problems with the computer came up.  In November, the computer ceased working and after three weeks of calling and waiting (and much frustration), a technician finally came out and made a repair.  Unfortunately, after one day, the computer once again ceased to work.  This time, it was not even possible to run the diagnostics because the computer would not even boot up.  Again, I placed a phone call to the customer support number, hoping to have a resolution before finals started.  A case number was assigned and I was given the name of the "Escalation Specialist" who I was told would be calling me in 24-48 hours. While I tried to be patient, there was no call and so after almost a week, I tried calling the Escalation Specialist.  Instead of reaching him, I was greeted with a message that his voice mailbox was full, so I could not leave a message.  The recording said that I could be transferred to an operator if I pressed the # sign, but when I did that, I was told that this was not an option available to me.  When I called customer support/service back to let them know this, I was told that I should stop calling because each time I called, I was being moved down in the list of people to receive return calls.   Wow!  is this what customer service has...
