Lenovo Ideapad Flex 14´´ Keys not working

Question: Lenovo Ideapad Flex 14´´ Keys not working

Hello, I have had the laptop for nearly a year, still under warranty and, today, some keys stopped working on the keyboard, more concretly: 5 6 F1 F2 ? ' and CTRL (LEFT) keys (written with the touchscreen). The last time it worked I was using it in class taking some notes and those aforementioned keys were working. Once I finished, packed the laptop into the cover, and into the bag. ten minutes later I took it out in the library and they did not work.No water spilling had occurred (it was dry and the bag was dry too). And also there were no hits to the terminal. They just seemed to stop working, the pressure input feels pretty the same, so they are not stuck by any material underneath. I tried reinstalling the drives (through the hardware management), checked all options in keyboard assesment....tried with safe mode, still do not work. Could it be some defect and should call for a replacement? Thanks beforehand.

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Certain keys on the ideapad flex 14 quit working unexpectedly.   Keys identified as not working -   z x c, v, m, comma, period, Enter, Shift key on the right side of the keyboard and the Delete key.  Could it be related to Windows upgrade released in October? The keys stopped working shortly after the upgrade.  Thanks for your help

Hi everyone, The touchscreen of my idepad flex 14 stopped to work suddenly. I have upgraded to Windows 10 recently and  didn't have any problem but now the defect came up. I have checked the device manager and the HID compliant touch screen driver is there (Version from 2006) and seems to be ok. I have tried to upgrade the driver but Windows says that is the latest version. Is there a driver from Lenovo for the touchscreen device? I really would appreciate any help. Thanks,Mike

Recently I have recived my new laptop, the Lenovo Ideapad flex 10 and I have a few issues with it - and I am considering returning it. 1) Every now and then, my touchscreen freezes and I have to restart my laptop with the mouse to solve the problem. 2) When I go onto a specfic app (such as the camera man or a certain game) my screen flickers black so I have to turn it off with the power button to fix it. It is very aggravating. I appreciate any thoughts on this topic, thanks.

Installed Windows 10 on it, and it didn't fix it, reset to Windows 8, no fix, upgraded to 8.1 and still no fix, all updates and drivers installed, tried the device manager thing, yet still no touchscreen response. It doesn't even show up in device manager. Also, now the display, doesn't cover the whole screen, there are black bars all around the edges.

The touchscreen on my ideapad flex 14 laptop is not working. I've tried uninstalling the driver in device manager and then restarting my computer. I've also checked that all drivers are up to date. I'm on wondows 10 and I think it has worked since the upgrade (though I'm not 100% sure). Any ideas?

Answer:Lenovo Ideapad flex 14 touchscreen not working

Welcome to the Forums Bevvy!

Press Windows+X.
- Select Device Manager.
- Find the Touchscreen driver under Mice and Other Pointing Devices>USB Touchscreen Controller(A111).  You're going to uninstall this and check the box that says "Delete the driver software for this device".  Don't worry, it won't blow up your computer.
- Restart your computer.
- Re-open the Device Manager, and confirm that the Touchscreen is now listed under Human Interface Devices.

Let us know how you get on.

Hi,I upgraded my lenovo machine from win8.1 to win10 recently. Now brightness(reduce) key and down arrow key alone are not working(before upgrade, all the keys were working). Now all the other keys are working fine, except these 2. I dont think it could be because of dust. When i tried in safe mode only those 2 keys were not working. Please help.

I have a year old Lenovo Ideapad Flex 4-1470 laptop.  The computer works perfectly, however the touch screen does not work all the time.  Some of the keys on the keyboard won't work, some areas of the screen do not register my finger everytime, etc.  I took it to the place of purchase (Office Max) and they ran a diagnostic check that came up perfect... the computer is working like it should.  I have a warranty on the computer for 3 years trough SquareTrade.  I don't use the touch screen really at all (only use it because it's there), but I'm annoyed that it doesn't work correctly because it's only a year old.  Any suggestions on a fix?  I can't find a calibration reset for the touch screen or any kind of up system reboot.  Any help will be appreciated.

Hi, the latptop is only about 2.5 months old now... 3 weeks ago randomly the keyboard's keys on the laptop itself stopped working. No clue why, Ive checked drivers, did a reboot, tried safe mode, etc... It's only on the laptop itself. The keys that work are tyhg caps lock num lock and maybe a couple others... Ive never spilled anything on the laptop nor have I ever dropped it. I was in love with this laptop for the price I paid for it at Best Buy until the keyboard stopped working on it... It just randomly happened and I'm not sure why. The keys don't appear to stick or anything like that... (normal keystrokes just nothing happens in result of clicking them) I am using a keyboard plugged into it right now... I really need to get this fixed and I'm very upset at the fact it happened just 2 months after the purchase... So that cancels out my bestbuy 1 month warranty right there. I really can't deal with this much longer considering the fact that I was planning to use this laptop for my work.. If I can't get a simple easy fix I will have to find something new somewhere else... sorry to say. Praying for an easy solution/fix.

Dear Friends, Am using Lenovo ideapad G570 from last 2months in my laptop some keys not working  (N,B,Left,Right,Up Arrow and Space bar) Kindly Suggest me For resolving the issue.

Answer:My lenovo ideapad G570 some keys are not working

hi vickydy,

Welcome to Lenovo Community Forums!

First make sure this is a hardware concern.
Run an Onscreen Keyboard, by Pressing (Windows key + R) then type in OSK then hit enter
Now on your onscreen Keyboard click on the keys that are not working see if they responding with the Onscreen keyboard.
If the keys responded using the Onscreen Keyboard, Then your Keyboard hardware is bad.
Either you call Technical Support to have them repair the unit in / out of warranty repair OR Ask them where to get the part for it and have the keyboard replaced.

Hope this helps
Cheers!

Hi, Some keys like o,5,l,g,h,Ctrl....etc are not working in my laptop. I have reinstall windows7 ultimate but still not working. Even I have changed the keybard. kindly do the needful for the same. Thanks,Lalit

Answer:Lenovo ideapad z570 keyboard some keys are not working.

hi Lalit,

Welcome to the Forums.

It's odd that some of the keyboard keys are still not working even after a keyboard replacement (btw, is this replacement keyboard brand new?).

If connecting a USB keyboard works fine then there's most likely a problem with the replacement keyboard or the keyboard connector from the motherboard. In this case, I would first get the replacement keyboard RMA'ed to rule out a bad replacement keyboard. If this doesn't fix it, consider bringing the unit to a local computer repair center for checkup.

Hi Guys,

I am a member of the sevenforums and currently have a win8 laptop so thought I'd sign up here (seems to be the same people behind both forums).

I'm having a little trouble and would really appreciate some feedback.

My Lenovo ideapad z500 had 2 keys (K and I) that stopped working (they worked on the touchscreen) and then after that the delete, 8, and arrow keys topped working. Not sure why.

Before I get the keyboard replaced I'm wondering if it could be something else? There's no water damage and I haven't dropped it so I'm confused. I was told it has to be water damage but maybe 1 drop from the condensation on a glass of water is all I can think that may have affected it.

Would be great for some input on this issue.

Thanks!

Answer:Laptop Keys Stopped working - Lenovo Ideapad Z500 Win8

I was told it has to be water damage

Not true. In fact, water in the keyboard normally does not cause permanent damage. That is, once the water dries, all works again - most of the time. But that does depend on many variables - type of keyboard membrane, how much water, if just water (no sugars or cream, for example), and how much dust, dirt, oily hair/dander, cigarette smoke, cookie crumbs, etc. are under the keys when the water was spilled. The greater damage generally comes when the water works it way through the keyboard and into the computer's electronics.

I would try a regular PC keyboard first to see what happens. If all the keys work properly with a standard USB keyboard, then you can be pretty certain it is the notebook keyboard at fault, and not something more serious.

Hello there. Yesterday, I bought the Ideapad 310-15isk, and it's phenomenal in many aspects. However, I'm a bit bothered by the extensive keyboard this laptop has, most importantly, the pagination commands on the arrow keys. I've been meaning to find a solution to disable those and just make them work on the Numpad since it's really bothersome to type on and then go all the way back because of the return pagination key. Is there any solution for this to unbind those commands only on the arrow keys?

Alright so my fan noise problems was a little different from the last post, so when I first got the laptop I had Zero issues with fan noise, now after about one month of usage and a few updates what felt like all of a sudden, the fan would stay on constantly, and my estimated battery life dropped to 3.5 hrs max. It seemed to be after the bios update, I'm currently doing a factory restore, if it fails where do I move from here?

My Lenovo is 4 months old, it has been working brilliantly until late. I shut down my laptop and the following day turned it back on, unfortunately the screen stayed black, yet the lights on the computer were working. After waiting a very long time (approx. 10 hours) I opened the lid and it started up again. I can close lid and the laptop will continue to work when I open it again, however if I shut it down the problem happens again. I have run lenovo diagnostics on the hardware and software and there appears to be no issue with things such as the mother board. Please could someone tell me how to fix this. Many thanks

My Lenovo Ideapad Flex laptop does not switch on when I press the power button.  It was working till this morning, when I switched it off (via an operating system shut down in Windows 8.1). When I tried to turn it on an hour later, I found that pushing the power button has no effect at all.  I tried pushing the novo button.  In this case the laptop does turn on and shows the "lenovo" welcome screen for a few seconds.  However, it promptly switches off again.  The symptoms do not depend on the laptop being connceted to power: they are exactly the same in the two cases. I have a Lenovo warranty, and I tried calling them, but due to a severe weather condition at their service station, they said they are unable to respond promptly.  In the meantime, is there anything I ccan do on my end to fix this?

Answer:Lenovo Ideapad Flex does not switch on

There's a chance the power button itself is broken and is turning the machine off as soon as you turn it on with the other button.

Try mashing it/wiggling it?

Hey all!

So, I got a Lenovo Flex 2 a year ago. A month or so ago, select keys started to fail - the right arrow key, the 1 key, now the 3 and F12. It's pretty weird for such a wide dispersal of keys to become non-responsive (or semi-responsive, as sometimes, randomly, some will work). I've removed the keys and tried to clean them out using compressed air, to no avail. Even removing the key face and pressing the button directly doesn't guarantee a response, which makes me suspicious of a more interal problem.

They're pretty heavily used keys - but it seems very odd to me that they would fail after such a relatively short amount of time. Has anyone else had this happen, or have any suggestions? I'll be pretty frustrated if I have to replace the keyboard every year due to pretty typical work usage.

Thanks!

Answer:Flex 3-1580 - Some.Keys.Not.Working

Hi kelcin ,

Welcome to the Community Forums.

Noticed how the keys are localized and aligned (Space, backspace, the center enter key, and the forward slash.) , as this maybe on the board level of the keyboard and not just the key itself.

If the same failure would also happen in the BIOS then probable hardware issue should be reported to technical support team for in warranty repair.

Hi Folks, I bought a Lenovo Ideapad Flex 5 14 81C90004US 2 in 1 PC from the Microsoft Store.  Now I would like to purchase an extra charger for it.  One would think that this would be simple, but being that this is an IBM product, nothing is simple.  I talked to Online Sales on Live chat and they have no clue what I need to order and Google searches are coming back with multiple different chargers The current charger that came with the laptop is 65w, 20v.   The model number is: ADLX65NCC3A.  When I search this model, the charger that shows up in Google results or Amazon results has a USB type end that connects to the laptop.  I have a round pin end. The Part number is: SA10M42747.  When I search this part number, the charger that shows up looks nothing like the charger I have.  I have a old style laptop charger where a three pin connector goes into the wall, the other end goes into a block .  The charger that shows up with that part number has the whole block attaching to the wall using a 2 pin connector. Can anyone please direct me in the right direction. Thanks.

Hello All, I've had my Levovo Ideapad for 1.5 years, no problems until recently. Over the past few months when I turn the computer on all I see is a black screen it doesn't go to the Lenovo screen. Sometimes it stays on the black screen for a while and then boots up normally and works fine, sometimes it doesn't go past the black screen. Now the computer doesn't boot past the black screen at all anymore. I've tried the option of taking the battery out and pressing the power button for 30 seconds, that didn't seem to make any difference. I have been using my Ideapad as both a laptop and a tablet and the hinge on the left side had started to crack and the screen is now leaning to the left. Is there any way I can fix this? I looked and it says the limited warranty I have doesn't cover this and I seem to not be able to get the Protection Plan either.

A Backlit Keyboard. As Good as the keyboard is and my eyesight for that matter. This machine would seriously benifit from a Back Lit Keyboard. If anyone has any surgestions then please let me know.

Thanks.

Dear Experts, I was noticing this problem just after my warranty is expired.  My Lenovo Ideapad flex 15 shuts down exactly in every 30 minutes. Here are some clues.Shutdown even when it is in bios, it is not a driver problem. Reset the bios to default but no outcome.Did comprehensive hardware test using Lenovo Solution Center but not showing any issue. All hardware temperature is normal. There was some dust in CPU fan, causing problem to run it smoothly. Removed the dust, now it is running smoothly. But still, I am having this problem.Removed the BIOS battery for the whole night, no outcome. If I put the laptop in sleep(before 30 min) and wake up immediately, I don't see this problem. I suspect this is some hardware or bios firmware issue (i.e probably some internal timer is shutting down laptop and putting the laptop into sleep may reinitialize the timer). Any idea how to resolve this problem? As another try, I want to flash the bios firmware, but I can't find any link in lenovo support center to get bios firmware for Lenovo Ideapad Flex 15.  Any help is highly appreciated. My BIOS version: 8ACN34WW Thanks/Babu

Dear Community, since a few days I have several problems with the hardware keyboard of my notebook. The on-screen keyboard works well! When I hit spacebar no blank is inserted in the text but all open tasks are opened in small windows (similar to pressing ALT+TAB, but with the task windows staying on screen). It is also not possible to use the Function keys (Increase / decrease brightness, loudness doesn't work) or to use the F-keys (ALT+F4 for example has no function). I opened a few websites, which visually show, which keys are pressed on the keyboard. All standard letter-keys work well. When I press F1 it says "F5", some F-Keys are shown as normal numbers or a letter. I am running Win10 with automatic updates. I tried to restore some older update-points but without having the problem solved. I tried to reinstall touchpad and keyboard drivers -> no results! There is maybe a problem with the keymapping or somekind of driver, which is perhaps not 100% compatible with some OS changes or updates?! Would like to hear any hints or solutions. Kind regardsHergesheim

Hi there,About 2 weeks ago I purchased this Lenovo in Romania which came with preinstaled windows 8(.1) license. However, the system run very slowly so I erased the harddrive, completley and installed a clean new 8.1 operating system using an original ms dvd but the system even after had all it's drivers installed was still very laggy compared to an old laptop of mine which run on a i2310m cpu. So I had it returned but the online site tolled me that I scratched the lcd cover(which I didnt) and asked me for 100euros and another 50 euros to restore to factory settings. Now, I asked them to return the laptop to restore the harddrive to original Lenovo settings but I cant find any source to do that on my own. I received no cd/dvd to the laptop. Please, any help would be apreciated.

Hi shynepo3,

Welcome to the Community Forums.

The Flex 5-1470 (Type 81C9) Laptop / part number 81C9000CUS must be a M.2 NVMe SSD.

Storage specification:
Some: HDD / SATA 6.0Gb/s, 2.5" wide, 7mm highSome: M.2 SSD / PCIe 3.0 x 4

OEM recommended M.2 SSD listed here PCIe-NVMe for model 81C9.

My Ideapad Flex recently developed two issues. Problem 1: When the computer goes to sleep (via start menu, closing the lid, or being inactive) the hardware turns off completely. In Windows 8.1's event viewer there are two errors that state that power failed unexpectedly. This has occured with the power adapter connected, and without. It also occured for Ubuntu 14.04. Problem 2: The computer (when powered down) only occasionally responds to the power button, and fails to boot when it does. I have found a temporary workaround - resetting the BIOS - however that only works one time per reset.

Hello, I discovered that my Lenovo IdeaPad Flex 2-15D was acting a little funny and whem I looked closer I noticed there was a hugh crack on the screen. I ordered it from BestBuy.com and got in touch with them and they directed me to calling Lenovo about 1 year warranty, I purchased in 5 months ago, they told me the cost to send it in would $489+$99 fee or send me the part itself which would be $310. I've tried looking for the part online but I couldn't seem to find it could someone point me on the right direction on where to go to find a new screen somewhere else online?

Hi everyone. I recently purchased a Lenovo IdeaPad Flex 2 14 for school and general purposes. In general I really like it, but I have noticed that the battery life is not like the 9h (or was it 6h?) that were advertised. I am getting around 2,5-3,5h of battery life, while I'm doing some light tasks like surfing the web. I should also note that this is with power saving mode on. Have I gotten a bad battery or is this basically what I can expect with this product?  You can see the specs in this link: http://www.prisjakt.nu/produkt.php?e=3019464

Hello. I have a friend who has upgraded her Lenovo IdeaPad Flex 15 laptop from Windows 8.1 to Windows 10. We're not sure if the upgrade broke the touch screen or whether it wasn't working beforehand. We've tried various things to get it to work, including the item here...https://support.lenovo.com/gb/en/documents/ht104469... and we've tried disabling the option to 'allow the computer to turn off this device to save power' in the HID USB devices. Actually, there is a device "HID compliant touch screen" that appears to be working correctly, and we get the keyboard symbol in the system tray, so the computer seems to be seeing the touch screen okay - it just doesn't work at all. My friend phoned Lenovo, who took the machine details and advised her two things...1. Gave her a link to try for drivers from the Lenovo website. The link appeared to be for AMD drivers and was for the Flex 15D computer - not very impressive.2. Told her if this didn't work (and I'm fairly sure it wouldn't) to revert back to Windows 8.1 - also not very impressive. What to do now I wonder? Thanks for reading this, and for any help you might be able to give.

Laptop is running on Windows 10. Yesterday I updated my AMD graphics driver using the update tool from AMD. After all the necessary files were downloaded and installed, I was prompted to restart and I did. Upon restart, the laptop would not boot past the Lenovo screen. The white circles that rotate always freeze and it just stays on the Lenovo screen upon every attempt to boot. I can't enter safe mode or the bios options, what can I do to fix this?  P.S. A few months ago I began having an issue with the sleep mode. When trying to enter sleep mode, the laptop would just shut down unexpectedly and almost instantly. I'm not sure what caused this issue, but I've just been avoiding it by shutting down instead of sleeping. Not sure if this has anything to do with it, or if the restart was interrupted by an unexpected shutdown.

Hello all.I own a lenovo IdeaPad Flex 15 laptop that runs Windows 8.1 and runs Intel I7. I think some of the specs on it are 8gb ram, 500gb hard drive, and that's about all I can remember of that top of my head. Anyway, I've had some recurring error problems. During the middle of my work, my laptop will flash a blue screen and often restart itself several times. It will prompt the blue screen repair mode and will often freeze up in that mode and restart itself several times. It's shown me several error messages including:APC_Index_MismatchAndSystem_Service_Exception mfehidk.sysAndKernel_Security_Check_Failure This has happened in the past. I used to run Avast antivirus, then I did a complete system restore hoping to fix the problem, but it has come back. Now I run AVG anti-virus. If anyone could please help or provide any type of solution that would be great. Thanks all!

Answer:Lenovo Ideapad Flex 14D - Device manager says it has two graphic cards?

thats because your cpu has built in GPU as well, this is called APU when amd has gpu built inside their cpu chip so then it detects 2 gpu 1 from cpu and 2nd one thats installed on motherboard it's same for intel laptops they usually have Intel HD graphics card built inside cpu chip while 2nd gpu is installed onto motherboard. every AMD Ax series of cpu has a GPU in them if i now understood it right.

Hi all, I am running a Lenovo Flex 10 Ideapad, primarily for Windows-based web development purposes. I've had no major issues and I love how small and portable the machine is. However, I recently updated the BIOS from the factory-shipped default to 93CN19WW V5.2 & V3 .7 (release date 4/22/2015). Since then I've had issues with sleep/hibernate modes. Sleep and hibernate modes will no longer function when closing the laptop lid and I'd therefore like to revert back to the previous stock/shipped BIOS. However, I can't find any links to the previous BIOS or any clue as to where I can source a copy. Can someone point me in the right direction? Can Lenovo supply me with the previous BIOS? Thanks in advance for any advice or assistance.  J

Answer:Ideapad Flex 15 touchscreen isn't working

hi acmaria,

Welcome to the Forums

Can you open System Properties and check if the OS is not detecting the Touchscreen functionality:
  - Link to picture (Touchscreen not detected)
  - Link to picture (Touchscreen is detected)

If the Touchscreen is not detected, try the following:
1. Hold the Shift Key and restart the machine to boot into the System Recovery Options screen. Once there, try to select any of the options by touching the screen and observe.
2. Shutdown the machine, press the OneKey Recovery button and select System Recovery. On the recovery menu, try to select any of the options by touching the screen and observe..
   - Link to picture

3. If the Touchscreen still doesn't work on one of the options above then it's likely that the digitizer have gone faulty and you need to contact lenovo for service.

Support phone list

If the Touchscreen detected, try uninstalling the HID Compliant Touchscreen first under the Device Manager > Human Interface Devices then reboot. If same problem, you may need to consider doing a System Restore or System Recovery to isolate the issue on the OS level.

Let me know how it goes.

Hello, My parents have owned a Lenovo laptop for a couple of years now. However, recently this issue showed up and I wondered whether there is a chance there is a solution to this problem which I could try myself, since the laptop its warranty already expired. If I recall correctly, the model of the laptop is the Lenovo IdeaPad Flex 2, running Windows 10. So here is the issue; the laptop has issues turning on. Oddly enough, it is not a very consistent issue. Eventually, the laptop does turn on. The problem is that this sometimes takes hours, other times the laptop appears to be able to boot instantly as it normally would. I have no idea what affects this. When pressing the power button, the keyboard backlight starts flashing. It does this until the laptop completely boots, and as I said, the amount of time this takes varies. I already tried looking for solutions on different forums, but they usually concern the issue where the keyboard backlight flashed and the laptop simply will not boot at all, which is not the case here, as it eventually does but often it takes a while.Other solutions suggested a certain amount of flashes meant a certain issue or failure. Problem here is that the amount of flashes seem to be random, so it is not as if it just keeps looping a certain amount of flashes as it varies. This leaves me puzzled as to what could be the culprit. I am not sure what to do, especially since I have not owned a Windows-based machine in a whi... Read more

Hi itsasin,

Welcome to the Community Forums.

Would you have the machine number or MTM to verify the model (you can also get from here)?

Isolating the point of failure may be necessary to determine if the delay on start up is a power issue or a boot problem.
Try removing the harddrive so we can test if the machine can power faster.
You can download the hardware manual from the support website for removal guide.

Hi. I recently bought a Flex 15 and the headphone jack does not work. Sound does come out of the speakers normally and I have tried using different headphones etc but it doesn't make a difference. When I plug in the headphones, they do not appear in 'playback devices.' I also tried downloading the appropriate driver and it still didn't work. Is there a solution to this? Thank you.

Hi helpful smart people,  Just bought a Flex 4 and the touchpad works only when you tap, but not when you press down to click.  No left or right click functionality.   Seems the drivers are up to date. Pls help!

Answer:Ideapad flex 14 network adapter not working

Macko,

Welcome to Lenovo Forums !

Thank you for taking the time to post in your inquiry. I can see that you have issues with your Lenovo IdeaPad Flex 14.
I would just like to ask if this is happening when you upgrade your windows OS to windows 8.1 or on windows 8.0?

Please also check if the wireless adapter software and drivers are up to date. Click this link.

Please let me know if this will work

Thanks

I  have an Ideapad Flex 15.

Since I upgraded yesterday to Windows 10, I have lost the touchscreen ability I had up to that point on Windows 8.1. On search for pen and touch, I was given this message on a system information page: "No pen or touch input is available for this display." I have looked in device manager under Human Interface Devices. Expanding the view to show hidden devices, I see "HID compliant touch screen." When I click to get device status, this is the message:

"Currently, this hardware device is not connected to the computer. (Code 45) To fix this problem, reconnect this hardware device to the computer."

How do I do that? I note a similar problem in Windows 8.1 on this posting:

Does anyone have any idea how to reconnect the hardware device -- or at least to solve this problem? Thanks!

Answer:ideapad flex 14 touchscreen is stop working

Hi ak6, 1. Perform BIOS resetPress F1 to enter BIOS when you power on Lenovo laptop, and then press F9 to restore BIOS to factory default settings. Press F10 to save and exit. Press the NOVO button (Small button near the power button), then select BIOS Setup. 2. Re-initiate touch outside OS.? While computer is rebooting or after turning on the unit, keep on pressing the F2 button. ? Once you're there, on the lower right hand corner of the menu, using your fingers, touch EXIT.? If that works, then touch REBOOT 3. Test the touch if it is now working, if everything is working then you MUST do this.  Hope this helps.
