Preferred Solution: Lenovo Ideapad Flex 15 - touch screen is not working

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hello. I have a friend who has upgraded her Lenovo IdeaPad Flex 15 laptop from Windows 8.1 to Windows 10. We're not sure if the upgrade broke the touch screen or whether it wasn't working beforehand. We've tried various things to get it to work, including the item here...https://support.lenovo.com/gb/en/documents/ht104469... and we've tried disabling the option to 'allow the computer to turn off this device to save power' in the HID USB devices. Actually, there is a device "HID compliant touch screen" that appears to be working correctly, and we get the keyboard symbol in the system tray, so the computer seems to be seeing the touch screen okay - it just doesn't work at all. My friend phoned Lenovo, who took the machine details and advised her two things...1. Gave her a link to try for drivers from the Lenovo website. The link appeared to be for AMD drivers and was for the Flex 15D computer - not very impressive.2. Told her if this didn't work (and I'm fairly sure it wouldn't) to revert back to Windows 8.1 - also not very impressive. What to do now I wonder? Thanks for reading this, and for any help you might be able to give.

I have Ideapad Flex 14 Ideapad S100 with Windows 10 having latest updates. A few days ago I had realized that thouch screen doesn't work any more. After consultation with Lenovo Turkey, which was insisting on recovery, I recovered my ideapad turning back to an image taken by Win10 two months ago. This step did not help. Some how next day after recovery in the morning it worked only for a few hours then stopped working again. I tried to disable and enable the "HID-compliant device" or other relaten USB items and reinstalled/activated, it did not help.I hope it is a software/driver failure and this problem will be solved soon by Lenovo.

The touchscreen on my Flex 15 stopped working. I am not sure exactly when, but in the last few months.  I am already on Win10, and it has worked fine since the Win10 upgrade over a year ago.  In Device Manager, I can see the HID Touch Screen entry.  I tried uninstalling and deleting it, followed by a restart.  Reinstalled itself on start-up, but no joy.  It claims to be working.   I have seen other similar posts saying to delete entries under Mice... but I don't see any Touch Screen entries there.Interestingly, I see most of the drivers have Event dates of 2-Jul 2017, saying "Device migrated". I am suspecting some delightful Micorsoft "improvement" on that date may have been the cuplrit, but I also feel like the touch screen may have been working after that date.  Unfortunately, I don't use the touch screen very often, but I DO need it now and then. Thoughts?

Recently I have recived my new laptop, the Lenovo Ideapad flex 10 and I have a few issues with it - and I am considering returning it. 1) Every now and then, my touchscreen freezes and I have to restart my laptop with the mouse to solve the problem. 2) When I go onto a specfic app (such as the camera man or a certain game) my screen flickers black so I have to turn it off with the power button to fix it. It is very aggravating. I appreciate any thoughts on this topic, thanks.

Hi there,So I've had my laptop for a while now and the touch screen stopped working a long time ago as well. I figured that I would wait until maybe someone posted a solution somewhere but there hasn't been any posts about it (that I could find) and it's been a really long time so I figured I would ask. So here's the problem. Touch screen stopped working. No idea why. Quite suddenly the touch screen decided to no longer work. I checked the driver and the computer says its functioning properly. I tried to see if there was some kind of update that I should download, and my efforts yet again were in vain. Alas, I figured the more knowledgable might be able to guide me in the right direction so....any ideas? With thanks,Matt

Hello,   I recently did a factory reset on my Lenovo IdeaPad P400, and now my touch screen doesn't work, at all.  Before the reset, it worked perfectly.  I don't have any viruses, malware, or hardware issues.  If I go to control panel and look at the my computer properties, it says "No Pen or Touch input available for this system" or whatever.  Also, i've tried the FW update .exe thing, and when I click start it tells me "no controller available" or something like that.  I also tried using the OneKey Recovery option, and "Refreshing" my PC.  Also didn't work.  Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks!

Download all the drivers for your pc.If after you download all the drivers and have no joy, try program called driver booster, that will help.

Hi there, I'm hoping that I can get some help - in very simple terms.  I am a little confused and intimidated by all things "computer".  I just received the IdeaPad flex 15 with windows 8 for Christmas.  I was slowly getting things set up when my cursor froze... for like 20 minutes, I couldn't be patient any longer so I tapped it with my finger, hoping to get it to reset. It did not, it disappeared and somehow disabled my touch pad.  I have tried the FN keys like suggested in other posts and google searches, I have restarted the computer countless times... When I look under the control panel - mouse - hardware - nothing is listed??  I don't want to do anything else to ruin my new computer but I want to get this fixed so I can have a fully functioning laptop, not just a touch screen. Thanks in advance for any help or direction.Much appreciated.

Answer:Ideapad flex 15 w/windows 8 - touch pad stopped working

Continue to let the automatic updates download, install and then reboot.  It takes a LONG time. I had an issue with the touchpad but it worked after a few more updates.

Hi, just recently, without any changes to the laptop, my touchscreen stopped functioning. I tried all available tricks - ie. uninstalling HID drivers etc. but no change. Can you help? Lubos

Answer:Lenovo Flex 15 touch screen

hi Lubos,

Welcome to the Forums

If the OS is not detecting the Touchscreen functionality of the machine (like in this image), can you consider one of the following:
1. Hold the Shift Key and restart the machine to boot into the System Recovery Options screen. Once there, try to select any of the options by touching the screen and observe.
2. Shutdown the machine, press the OneKey Recovery button and select System Recovery. On the recovery menu, try to select any of the options by touching the screen ando bserve..
   - Link to picture

If the Touchscreen still doesn't work on one of the options above then it's likely that the digitizer have gone faulty and you need to contact lenovo for service.

Otherwise, if the Touchscreen is working then consider doing a System Restore or System Recovery to isolate the issue on the OS level.

The touchscreen on my ideapad flex 14 laptop is not working. I've tried uninstalling the driver in device manager and then restarting my computer. I've also checked that all drivers are up to date. I'm on wondows 10 and I think it has worked since the upgrade (though I'm not 100% sure). Any ideas?

Answer:Lenovo Ideapad flex 14 touchscreen not working

Welcome to the Forums Bevvy!

Press Windows+X.
- Select Device Manager.
- Find the Touchscreen driver under Mice and Other Pointing Devices>USB Touchscreen Controller(A111).  You're going to uninstall this and check the box that says "Delete the driver software for this device".  Don't worry, it won't blow up your computer.
- Restart your computer.
- Re-open the Device Manager, and confirm that the Touchscreen is now listed under Human Interface Devices.

Let us know how you get on.

Hello, I have had the laptop for nearly a year, still under warranty and, today, some keys stopped working on the keyboard, more concretly: 5 6 F1 F2 ? '  and CTRL (LEFT) keys (written with the touchscreen). The last time it worked I was using it in class taking some notes and those aforementioned keys were working. Once I finished, packed the laptop into the cover, and into the bag. ten minutes later I took it out in the library and they did not work.No water spilling had occurred (it was dry and the bag was dry too). And also there were no hits to the terminal. They just seemed to stop working, the pressure input feels pretty the same, so they are not stuck by any material underneath. I tried reinstalling the drives (through the hardware management), checked all options in keyboard assesment....tried with safe mode, still do not work.  Could it be some defect and should call for a replacement? Thanks beforehand.

Installed Windows 10 on it, and it didn't fix it, reset to Windows 8, no fix, upgraded to 8.1 and still no fix, all updates and drivers installed, tried the device manager thing, yet still no touchscreen response. It doesn't even show up in device manager. Also, now the display, doesn't cover the whole screen, there are black bars all around the edges.

Hi everyone, The touchscreen of my idepad flex 14 stopped to work suddenly. I have upgraded to Windows 10 recently and  didn't have any problem but now the defect came up. I have checked the device manager and the HID compliant touch screen driver is there (Version from 2006) and seems to be ok. I have tried to upgrade the driver but Windows says that is the latest version. Is there a driver from Lenovo for the touchscreen device? I really would appreciate any help. Thanks,Mike

My touchscreen freezes and I have to restart my laptop with the mouse to solve the problem. Does anyone know how to solve this problem with certain? I like this laptop but I?m thinking to return it because I don?t expect this kind of issues with a new PC.I tried to solve the problem with the support company in my country (Bulgaria - Europe) but they didn't give me a help. They think that the problem is in the drivers or  maybe in OS Win 8.1.I would like to know if Lenovo is informed about this problem and if there is a solution.Any suggestions?

I have a year old Lenovo Ideapad Flex 4-1470 laptop.  The computer works perfectly, however the touch screen does not work all the time.  Some of the keys on the keyboard won't work, some areas of the screen do not register my finger everytime, etc.  I took it to the place of purchase (Office Max) and they ran a diagnostic check that came up perfect... the computer is working like it should.  I have a warranty on the computer for 3 years trough SquareTrade.  I don't use the touch screen really at all (only use it because it's there), but I'm annoyed that it doesn't work correctly because it's only a year old.  Any suggestions on a fix?  I can't find a calibration reset for the touch screen or any kind of up system reboot.  Any help will be appreciated.

Hello everyone. I must say that it is a lovely laptop but the touch screen issue is making me very upset. I called  Lenovo and Microsoft support and those people doesn't even have a bit of knowledge. Many incertain process and lot of doubts in them. But it can't be a hardware problem. I bought it 1 week ago and when I opened the factory sealed box the touch screen worked perfectly! And a few hours later would stop working. No pen and touch input available, no hid compliant touch screen in device manager. I read almost every thread about this complain in this forum. Hello, I bought a brand new Lenovo Flex 2 15.6" laptop today. Started using it and realized a bizarre problem with the touch screen. I can't swipe in from the left or right side to open up the charms bar, and when I open the desktop feature, the touch screen won't allow me to click on icons. Strangely, when I open a browser inside the desktop, I can click on web links fine with the touch screen, but anything outside the browser doesn't work. I was so excited to use my new laptop and now I am just frustated. Any help is appreciated!

Answer:Touch screen problem on brand new Lenovo Flex 2 15"

My wife's brand-new christmas Lenovo Flex 2 15 had the exact same problem. After spending a huge amount of time googling around and then waiting on the phone to talk to a lenovo person for a long time I finally got a solution. Try it, it might work for you and it certainly didn't hurt anything. Here's how you do it:(1) Shutdown the unit (not restart). When shutdown the power button should have not light on.(2) Unplug the power supply from the wall AC and wait 30 seconds.(3) Get a ball-point pen.(4) Plug in the power supply into the wall AC. You should see a little tiny led light to the right of the powere button (towards the screen hinged).(5) Poke that LED reasonably hard with the ball-point pen with constant pressure for at least 5 seconds. This is somekind of motherboard hard reset.(6) Release the presssure, remove the ball point pen.(7) Press the power button  and power it up.(8) AT THIS POINT THE PROBLEM WAS COMPLETELY FIXED FOR ME. HOPE IT WORKS FOR YOU, TOO.

Hi all, I've owned my Flex 5 for a little under a month now. Truh be told, so far I haven't really used the touch screen, save for on the first day when I was doodling a bit using the pen. Today, I touched the screen quite by accident, and then realised I didn't get any response, so I tried again, only to realize, the touch screen is fully unresponsive. I checked the device manager. it says it's functioning properly.. I checked the website and everything is up to date driver wise. I disabled/enabled/uninstalled, restarted the HID complient touch screen, all to no avail. I'ts true I rarely use the touch screen feature so far, but it sucks to know that in a little under a month, I'm having issues with this feature already. I even went so far as to reset my computer, on the off chance there was some issue/bug. No change. Has anyone had such an issue? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Hi all,

i just purchased a new Lenovo Flex 2-15D Laptop for my Child.

I just started it an on the right side of the screen there are some points on the screen where the screen is brighter flickering. It looks as the screen is registering input touches, even if there are none.

In fact, working with the device is only possible if i'm switching thr touch device off in the Device manager in windows, otherwise the lapttop closes windows and is doing some other nonsense.

The same trouble comes up after upgrading on windows 10.

Is there anyone could help with tht issue, please?

Thank you very much indeed!

Best regards

Drivers all show working properly. Not intermittent. Tried settings and no help. No response when touching screen at all. Can't calibrate. Bios has no update available. Nothing in manual under troubleshooting. Any quick fix suggestions have likely been tried, but open to all ideas. If all else fails, and assuming the digitizer is bad, what does repair entail and any rough estimate? Is there any recall? I see this issue on the forum a lot with not many folks getting it resolved.TIA!!

Answer:U310 IdeaPad Touch :The Touch Screen Stopped Working. No Previous Posts Have Helped.

hi c2nah777,

Welcome to Lenovo Community Forums!

Have you tried booting the system in Recovery Mode (One Key Recovery), You're not going to Recover the system since your only going to check the touchscreen in that mode "Outside Windows"

See if the touhcscreen works there,
If Yes, I would suggest doing a factory Reset First Before jumping into a hardware Repair.
If No, Then I think you're correct with the digitizer.

Hello, I just bought this laptop and updated it. Came with a pen and everything, was excited.Touchscreen did not work what so ever. Nor does the pen. Called tech support and they said I had no software warrentey and gave me a pitch on why I should buy it. Regardless, did not help. HID compliant touch screen driver is nonexistant, and I'm assuming that's because of the Windows 10 Update, but I can't be sure. Can someone help?

My Lenovo Flex 15D had been working fine, until I upgraded to win 10.  The touch screen ceased to work.  I then read a post somewhere that said that the hardware was not compatible with win10. I tried to return to win8.1 but by this time was beyond the 1 month roll back time.  I tried to reinstall some drivers and completely killed the machine, it wouldn't boot up properly but as it hung on a black screen, i was able to back up the files remotely. Then did a system reset - but the touchscreen still is not working.  'hiD compliant touch screen' I have uninstalled from device manager - it is reinstalled on boot up but still no touch screen.  Any ideas about how to restore the touch screen capability...

Hello; I purchased 2 Flex 3 laptops a few weeks ago.  One of them had an intermittent touchscreen problem.  It boiled down to a USB driver issue.  In the Device Manager under USB Controllers I got a yellow Triangle with an exclamation next to "Unknown USB Device (Device Descriptor Request Failed)".  If I disabled and then enabled that driver the touchscreen would start working.  I ended up returning that laptop thinking it was just a faulty unit, but today my 2nd Flex 3 did the same thing.  As far as I know all my drivers are updated an I'm running Windows 10. I don't really want to have to disable and enable drivers every other day so I'm wondering if anyone has come across this issue and if so if there is a fix. Attached is a screenshot of the Device Manager.

I got my Yoga 2 11 in February. It worked beautifully until about a month ago. Suddenly, the touch screen quit working. At first, it would occassionally turn back on, but eventually even that quit. I didn't load any new software, nor were there any updates done. Now, under PC Info, it says "No Pen and Touch input is available for this display." I've tried every suggestion I could find from turning off power settings to downloading a graphics driver, which my system couldn't run. Nothing has worked. All I have now is a small laptop! Any new suggestions?

My Ideapad S415 touch screen has suddenly stopped working.  I've had a tech connect to my PC and try a BIOS reload of default settings, plus unistalling all "HID" devices in Device Manager with no resolution.  I've also tried a system restore with no luck. The system properties does see the touch capability. Suggestions? Thanks.

Answer:Ideapad S415 Touch - touch screen stopped working

hi Hersh,

Welcome to Lenovo Community Forums!

First do a Power Drain
     (If the battery is removable)
Remove AC and Battery and hold the power button down for 15 sec.
Turn the computer back on and see if the Touch capability is now detected under System Properties,
                  If not
I suggest you contact Lenovo Technical Team about the Issue as this may be a device detection issue.

I have the IdeaPad S510p touch, which seems to have a similar problem as other Lenovo models where the touch screen seems to stop working intermittently.  It seems to stop working after a while or after it has been sleeping.  It starts working again randomly.  I tried downloading a driver for a different model, but it didn't load or allow me to open it.  I just got this computer a few days ago.  I'm not sure if it is better just to take it back to the store, but I am concerned that this problem will exist even if I exchange it for a new one...

Answer:Touch Screen intermittently working (IdeaPad S510p touch)

Hello... I have an ideapad S510p, about 4 months old. Today, the touch screen stopped working. In the middle of using an app and using the touch screen. I searched all through settings and can't find anywhere to adjust its settings or anything. And in fact I saw that this computer "Has no touch/pen screen", which it does. Or it did until about an hour ago. I am relatively clueless but i'm learning. And would like some instruction/options. ThanksJohnpal716

Laptop is running on Windows 10. Yesterday I updated my AMD graphics driver using the update tool from AMD. After all the necessary files were downloaded and installed, I was prompted to restart and I did. Upon restart, the laptop would not boot past the Lenovo screen. The white circles that rotate always freeze and it just stays on the Lenovo screen upon every attempt to boot. I can't enter safe mode or the bios options, what can I do to fix this?  P.S. A few months ago I began having an issue with the sleep mode. When trying to enter sleep mode, the laptop would just shut down unexpectedly and almost instantly. I'm not sure what caused this issue, but I've just been avoiding it by shutting down instead of sleeping. Not sure if this has anything to do with it, or if the restart was interrupted by an unexpected shutdown.

Hello, I discovered that my Lenovo IdeaPad Flex 2-15D was acting a little funny and whem I looked closer I noticed there was a hugh crack on the screen. I ordered it from BestBuy.com and got in touch with them and they directed me to calling Lenovo about 1 year warranty, I purchased in 5 months ago, they told me the cost to send it in would $489+$99 fee or send me the part itself which would be $310. I've tried looking for the part online but I couldn't seem to find it could someone point me on the right direction on where to go to find a new screen somewhere else online?

Hi there, sorry to be a bother.Like the title says, my touch screen stopped working. I went on to my computer one afternoon and found my mouse stuck in the top left corner, fidgeting. This was what I was expiriencing. (My touch-screen still worked fine at the time, but I still couldn't do anything or control the mouse, but I could tell that it was still working and it still responded.) After a bit of time and a few restarts later, it went back to normal, but my touch-screen then stopped working. I'm used to the touch-screen working incorrectly occasionally, and much like the mouse thing, a restart or two helps. It has now been three days and my touchs-creen still does not work. I've tried many of the solutions found in these forums, but to no avail. I am running Windows 10 and have had this computer for 2+ years.  Thanks.

Hello everyone, my touch screen on my lenovo ideapad z400 touch is not working anymore.  The only weird thing I remember is some ghost touchpoint on my screen. I've been looking for the answer to this issue, but it seems that Lenovo does not address this problem.  If someone has found the solution to this problem and wants to share it with me, I will be forever grateful.

Hello, I just bought this laptop and updated it. Came with a pen and everything, was excited.Touchscreen did not work what so ever. Nor does the pen. Called tech support and they said I had no software warranty and gave me a pitch on why I should buy it. Regardless, did not help. HID compliant touch screen driver is nonexistant, and I'm assuming that's because of the Windows 10 Update, but I can't be sure. Can someone help?

Hello all,      So I bought a Flex 3-1120 a while back and decided to install Linux on it. I had some compatibility issues so I reverted back to Windows last night. Now that I have Windows everything works fine except the touchscreen doesn't work at all. There's nothing in the "Device Manager -> Human Interface Devices" except for something called "GPIO Laptop or Slate Indicator Driver". I've read there should be some kind of touch screen driver there. Anyone know how to get my touch screen up and running? Thanks so much!     David  Edit: I should mention I've tried automatically searching for new drivers and I've tried installing assorted drivers I found through the Lenovo webite.

Got this notebook two days ago and tried to use the tablet mode. I realized that the touch screen wasn't working and went to check the device manager only to find out that the HID compliant touch screen driver is missing. While checking, I noticed that Wacom device driver also could not start as well (Code 10). Does anyone have a clue as to what is going on? I really would like to use the tablet mode of this laptop instead of having to return it due to the touch screen not working.

Hi, My G400s series touch screen laptop touch not working. It stops working just one month back. It was purchased around 16 months back. I have done all the trick which suggested on the forum by many users but all in vain. I have always updated with latest updates by Microsoft including Window 8.1/latest driver by Lenovo but I think this is not the issue with Windows upgrade because this was done months back and touch was working perfectly. If this is hardware problem the Lenovo should accept the fault and change the failure part free of cost or come up with some solution because many Lenovo users suffering with this problem. Hello you all,So I'm having this issue with my computer, I bought my laptop in 2014 and I got the screen broken due to malfunction of the hinges. I'd like to know if any of you know where I can get new screen assembly for my laptop. I know the warranty is really out of place, I tried to contact the Lenovo support in Brazil and they told me there's no part replacement available.

Looking for a fix to this screen flickering issue on my Lenovo Ideapad Z500 Touch Screen Notebook. I took it to the Service Center and the technicians there changed the LCD cable that connects the screen with the motherboard. Still, The problem persists. The engineers over there do not seem to have a clue whether this problem is Hardware or Software and I don't wish to unnecessary get my machine disassembled again. This flicker does not happen continuously though. My notebook works fine if i keep it unmoved on the desk. But the moment i try to adjust the lid or move my notebook around, the flickering starts. To stop it, I simply put my machine on sleep mode or close the lid for 5 odd minutes. Upon wake up, The Screen again appears to work fine minus any flicker. Would appreciate any help in this regard. I have also captured a Video of the problem. Friends, I have a Lenovo Idea Pad U430 Touch (WIN 8.1 64 bit) and the touch screen seem to be having an issue. I had spoken to the Lenovo Support 4 times and spent more than 10 hours on this issue so far. The bubbles appear at the top of my laptop and the mouse pointer goes haywire. This occurs when I start my laptop, for a few minutes and also intermittent - does not happen every time I start. One support person asked me to do a factory reset and I refused as I would be losing the entire set-up and have to spend more than 10 hours restoring it back. I wanted to escalate the problem and yesterday another support person has given an idea to isolate the issue by disabling the touch screen as mentioned in this thread. I just did a Google search and looks like this is a manufacturing issue based on the posts in this thread.Contents from the thread I found in the web:  So I've uploaded this video to document the problem I'm having with my Lenovo Idea pad Z400 touch screen. Every so often, the screen would just go berserk. The video show the left hand side of my laptop with all those circles popping up as if someone if touching the screen. Well, no one is touching the screen ... the laptop is doing it all by itself. And when I try to log out, I couldn't because the mouse functions have been affected ... have to shut down the laptop by pressing the power button. Very frustrating. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=znItnUW8feQ&list=UUbaNFySaNij9lqkST4SdeQQ&index=3... Read more

Answer:Lenovo IdeaPad U430 Touch Screen Issue

I just would like to make the following suggestion in support of the recommendation to factory reset the unit: 1. Run OKR backup and do a user backup. Save it to folder in another drive to be sure. 2. Do the restore through OKR and select restore to initial backup. This will restore to factory default. 3. If your problem does not exist anymore then it could mean something is going on. And you can start deciding to whether to reinstall those third party programs or not. However, if the problem still exist run OKR restore but this time choose user backup and point to where you save the backup. This should put back the unit to the present condition with all your third party programs and files intact.

I just got my factory-refurbished Lenovo Ideapad Yoga 11s in the mail from Newegg today. I booted it up, everything works great except I am getting zero touch screen response. I looked at some other discussions and couldn't' find anything quite like this, it sounds like most of the problems were resulting after a few minutes of no touch input, whereas I am getting no responsiveness whatsoever from the get-go. So far I've tried restarting the computer, restarting 'ymc' in services within the Task Manager, and also tried adjusting the power saver settings on the USB Devices in the Human Interface portion of Device Manager. Does anyone have any further input on this? Thanks.

Hey all, sorry if this is the wrong spot for my post but I'm new around here. Yesterday, my Ideapad's battery malfunctioned when it was around 20%, and when I tried to plug in the ac adapter, it wouldn't charge. Eventually the battery ran down to 0, and now I'm stuck with a dead battery and laptop. Is there anything I can do? I initially thought it was the charger, and I ordered a new one, but even the new charger won't charge it either.

Hello all, I have a Lenovo Ideapad P400 and am using Windows 8.1.  64-bit.    I have 2 seperate issues, any advice on either would be greatly appreciated. 1.  I just ran Lenovo Solution Center Hardware Scan comprehensive and came back with Result Code: WWF00F000-HL9X7G.  Local Connection Test is what had the Warning.  The only other factor I could attribute to this warning code is in my Device Manager under "Universal Serial Bus Controllers", my USB xHCI Host Controller has a yellow "!" next to it and if I hit properties it says "The Device Cannot Start" (Code 10)  .... (Operation Failed)  The requested operation was unsuccessful.   Can you tell me how to fix the warning code recieved from LSC or how I can fix the driver issue on the USB xHCI?    Also I cannot for the life of me figure out how to re-enable my Touchscreen on the laptop.  It just turned off weeks ago and I have not been able to get it turned back on. Any ideas? Thanks a ton, Ch

Answer:Lenovo Ideapad P400 Touch Screen and Error Code

Hi Bob,

Welcome to Lenovo Forums.

Firstly, this controller enables USB over wireless as part of the Intel (WiDi) Wireless Display function. The yellow bank (or warning) just started occurring in early 2013.

The wireless display portion of the WiDi driver would still continue to work even with the yellow bang.

Lenovo Support Site has the Intel WiDi driver for the IdeaPad P400 which addressed the yellow exclamation mark issue.

Lastly, to enable the touchscreen follow below steps:

Solution 1 -

Swipe in from the right edge of the screen, and then tap Search. ...
Enter Calibrate in the search box, and then tap or click Calibrate the screen for pen or touch input to open Tablet PC Settings.
Tap or click Setup, and then follow the on-screen instructions.

Solution 2 -

Seems like a hardware issue but can't seem to get this laptop to boot at all. On startup it hangs at the Lenovo logo screen. Have tried booting to a Windows 8 recovery flashdrive and it starts to load it and eventually goes to a black screen. I was able to boot to an older Hiren's boot cd setup and run a memory test from the cmd line(passed) and also tried to run mini xp and it seemed to only load the background for some reason.. Haven't had a whole lot of time to take a look at it but any ideas I could try out? - Thanks

Hi!  I do have trouble with a Lenovo Flex 2-14 (Model 20404).The Lenovo turns on, shows the Levono Boot screen and finishes with a black screen.  - I am able to enter the Bios (working screen)- I am able to run the internal recovery with a working screen - after recovery and a new boot up - the screens gets black again  How is that possible? I am not able to boot from a usb-stick (with working Linux or Windows installation - tested on other systems) cause I get a black screen (the USB is being recognized).  So... what are the next steps? This seems wierd, since the screen itself seems to work. I found some forum-topics saying it is a GPU-failure. Maybe thats the case?  I would appreciate any support!

I spilled water on my laptop a few days ago. My screen was fine at first, but then (I assume) water got into some part of the hardware. Now the display is barely visible. I think it could be the inverter board that was affected, but I want to know how to fix it/what part(s) I need.In addition, my keyboard doesn't work. The touchscreen keyboard doesn't work either. I can tap on the keys, but nothing shows up. What is affected so that I can't even use the touchscreen keyboard? Any advice would be much appreciated.

Welcome to the Lenovo Community !

Water spilled into a laptop can cause a variety of problems as well as short  circuits.  It would be difficult to pin point exactly where your problems lie.  I suspect though that laptop isn't thoroughly dried out yet which maybe part of the problem.  I would suggest you open it up and let it continue to dry out, before proceeding further.  For your reference here is a link to your model's Hardware Maintenance Manual.......

Answer:U430 Touch Screen not working on Ideapad

hi graceella,

Welcome to the Lenovo Forums.

Ideally, the OS automatically identifies if you have unit with a Touchscreen or not. To check, look under Control Panel (large icon view) > System (see images below).

Non-Touchscreen:
- Link to picture
- Link to picture

Touchscreen:
- Link to picture

If the machine is showing No Pen and Touch Input:
1. The OS is not identifying the screen as Touch capable. To isolate, perform a System Recovery (via the OneKey Recovery button) to check if the issue is on the OS level (ensure you backup important files first).

If the machine is showing Limited Touch Support:
1. Recalibrate or Reset the touchscreen
2. Reconfigure the Touchscreen

If same problem,
3.  Press the Windows key? +R, type devmgmt.msc and press Enter.
4. On the device manager, navigate to Human Interface Devices and uninstall anything that says HID-compliant device. When finished, reboot the system and observe.
5. After the reboot, press Windows key? +R, type mspaint and press Enter. On mspaint, try to touch the screen and observe if the touchscreen capability is working.

If the above steps doesn't resolve the issue, I recommend you contact Lenovo and report the problem (or the place of purchase if it's still possible to exchange the unit).

Hi - I use a USB MIDI keyboard (Akai LPK25) with my Ideapad. I've not previously had an issue with this configuration, but since about a week ago, as soon as I plug in the device the touch screen becomes disabled. Removing the device doesn't restore touch screen functionality; I actually have to reboot. Thoughts? Was there a recent USB upgrade that's causing this issue? Thanks!

Answer:Ideapad 13: Touch screen not working after plugging in USB device

When I first read this, my reaction was "that sounds crazy", but after thinking about it, I have a possible explanation and solution.  The touchscreen connects as a USB device through one of the root hubs.  Each hub has a maximum power draw.  If your device happens to use the same hub as the touchscreen, you may be over the limit.  Try a different USB port.  BTW, the maximum draw MIGHT be different for plugged-in vs. battery power.  I don't know that for sure.

I know a few others have asked this question, but I haven't seen anyone report a solution or any follow-up to suggestions given. Here's what happened: my touch screen worked normally on Friday, then I went away for the weekend and didn't use my laptop and when I started working on Monday I realized my touch screen didn't work. Here's what I have done to try to fix it:1. Restarted the computer2. Disabled & enabled the HID-compliant touch screen in the Device Manager 3. Disabled & enabled the Generic PnP Monitor in the Device Manager4. Checked for driver updates for the touch screen (it said the most up-to-date driver is already installed)5. Tried to roll back the driver for the touch screen, but that button was greyed out, so it wasn't an option6. Unstalled the most recent Windows updates (there were a couple from the previous week)7. Unstalled the HID-compliant touch screen (but when I restarted the computer, there it was again)8. Talked to the IT guy for my work, who said I did everything he would have done, and suggested that I write a post on this forum. I saw a suggestion in another thread that the driver for the touch screen could be corrupted, but I didn't really see any instructions on how to unstall/reinstall the driver itself. I would like to try that if someone could tell me how that's done. Any other ideas? My Lenovo is probably 4-5 years old, Windows 10 for well over a year, installed a new anti-virus software a few months ago with no issues... Read more

Please perform the below steps:

Press Windows + X
Select Device Manager.
Find the Touch screen driver under Mice and Other Pointing Devices > USB Touchscreen Controller (A111).  You're going to uninstall this and check the box that says "Delete the driver software for this device".
Restart your computer.
Re-pen the Device Manager, and confirm that the Touchscreen is now listed under Human Interface Devices.

I hope the above information helps.

Regards,
Shashi

I have recently brought an Z500 touch notebook and have been using it with great success for a week, until today when the touch screen has stopped working. I have rebooted the system and this has not fixed the problem. I have also tried both downloading the microsoft updates and also restoring the computer back to a previous restoring point, and neither have changed a thing. I have also tried to turn the touch screen on via the 'pen and touch' option in the control panel. Most of the time this option does not appear in the control panel and when it does, it only shows a tick box to enable double click and nothing else.  I have also recieved an error message about 'unabale to read USB device' which I assume is the touch screen as the Bluetooth, SD card reader and mouse pad only appear in the list of human interface devices. Is there anyway of fixing this problem (e.g. a patch or restoring to factory settings) or is my new notebook broken?

You have several options(restoring to factory setting). Before you perform any of them backup your data since they may be erased in the restoration process.1. Use OKR recovery - shutdown your notebook first. Press the NOVO button to access the recovery program.2. You can use "reset" or "refresh" program in windows itself.3. You can restore using the system image file if you made one earlier.4. You can use the USB Recovery media if you made one earlier.

This computer is not even a week old. When this first happened I saw that on the bottom side of the laptop were two switches, one for the battery and I guess one for the touch screen, by the way there is not literature on what so ever, and after flipping the switch the touch screen worked perfectly for about a day. Now it has stopped working again, but the switch is in the correct position. All of my drivers are up to date. I am so frustrated with this. the mouse works fine, it is just the touch screen. Please, someone tell me you have had a similar issue with this series of the ideapad and that you have been able to fix it, I really don't want to have to send it in as I use it everyday for work.

Hi eking4044, welcome to the forum,

     Here is your user guide:

Both of those "switches" on the bottom are for the battery. One is a spring loaded switch to open battery, after you push the other one into the open position. This is how you remove the battery, and have nothing to do with the Touch Screen.

Did you delete any of the software that came with your system? The easiest thing you could do is backup your user files to a CD, or some external hard drive, then reset your system using the system recovery. See page 20 of the user guide for the recovery routine. Make sure you have a backup of your user files, before attempting the recovery, as it will set up your system like new. This should solve your problem, but if it doesn't, please post back with further information.

Cheers

Hi everybody, I have an IdeaPad Flex 14 and frequently when I'm working on it, the synaptics touch device suddenly it freezes and the mouse arrow disappears from the screen. When this happens only the "right click" keep working but I can't move the mouse to another position. I have to deactivate-activate the synaptics touch device from the keyboard to put the mouse working again. This is so annoying and I want to know if there is a solution for this or the Synaptics touch device is damaged. Thank you!

Hi, I wonder if i could get some help, I have purchased a Lenovo C40 all in one for my sons xmas present from Argo.  Serial number ************, I was under the impression it had touch screen capabilities (acording to Argos it has a 10 point touch screen), the instruction book says it has and the internet says it has however there doesn't seem to be a touch screen driver.  Can someone advise me if this computer is touch screen or not.

Thanks

Mod's Edit: Serial number removed to protect owner from its unwanted use.

Answer:Lenovo C40 Touch Screen not working

I don't think there are touchscreen drivers, I looked on the support site and could only find display drivers. It could be that the touch screen isn't working, or your model doesn't support it.

I have Lenovo Y70 Touch with GTX 960m and a month after I bought it, touchscreen stopped working. Restart helped but the problem started to occur more often. After some time even restart don't help. Here's what I tried:-rolling back to Windows 8.1 (didn't work)-reinstall and update graphic drivers (didn't work)-reinstall Windows 10 from usb (didn't work)-restart the computer (worked some time ago, now doesn't help)-reset the computer by pressing and holding power button for 30 second when turned off (didn't work)-bios update (helped until next restart)-delete all hid devices from device manager (sometimes works, I have to try this multiple times)-disable turning off all usb devices to conserve power (didn't work)-changed usb power settings in windows (didn't work) Sometimes the touchscreen works when I log into Windows and stops working after few seconds after that. Sometimes after disabling hid devices it works until next restart. It's really annoying, I've read about this on the Microsoft website and it said "restart your computer"... Does anyone else has a problem like this? Has anyone found a solution?

I've just got my laptop back from service and while I got the issue with screen fixed my Touch screen is no longer working.  Is there some settings which I should enable? Or someone forgot to plug the cable at service center?
