Preferred Solution: Flex 3-1120 - Hello I'm having troubles with my built in web camera.

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

I just got this Lenovo and when setting up, I am pretty sure I downloaded and installed the free Windows 10 upgrade.  In my program information, I only see Windows 8.1 as being installed.  When I go to microsoft browser, it says Windows 10.  How do I find product key for Windows 10.  I tried following directions on lenovo help site but it did not help. thanks for any advice.

I have a new Flex 3 it was working fine yesterday, I shut it down last night and plugged it in, it seems to have a good charge (and I have tried it plugged in as well), but this morning it will not boot up.  I hope I don't have to take this back to BB today, any ideas?

Answer:Flex 3 -1120 wont power on

I had the same issue. it appears that a driver was installed but the system has stalled. It actually happened twice. I sent it in and they "refreshed" it and it did it again. I let the power die on it and it started back up. I don't know of a way to manually shut it down. The old way was take the battery out but its not the case here. The battery is sealed in side and I didn't want to give them a reason to void the warranty. You can charge stuff with the usb while it's unplugged, try draining the battery that way with a phone or tablet.

I have a Lenovo Flex 3 1120. When I bought it, I went for the hard drive option that had the cheapest price since all the other options were HDD of various sizes and I knew I was going to upgrade to SSD anyway. The flex 3 I have though, does not have a HDD and uses an eMMC embedded storage. When I went to install the SSD, there is an empty space for where the hard drive would sit and there is no SATA connection. There is a socket in the board that is labeled "SATA conn1" but no cable.

I called support and was told it is possible to use the SSD and boot from it. The cable and caddy can be purchased but she said Lenovo will not supply the part. I found the part number I think,  1109-01051, but apparently no one else sells it either. There was one on ebay, but it's gone. anyone know where I can find one?

Answer:Flex 3 1120.- No SATA connection!

update: the item number is actually 5C10J08424. I still had a hard time a seller with it in stock. One website wanted about $70 for it not including shipping. I finally found/bought one on encompassparts.com for about $20 including shipping. I'll update once I get to try it out.

I just received my new Lenovo Flex 3-1120 ( Model: 80LX001KUS).  As delivered, it has 32G of eMMC.  I am desirous of upgrading the machine with a Hard Drive (which I have purchased).    I have discovered that due to the fact that the stock configuration does not have a hard drive that there are two parts that are needed to house and connect the hard drive.  From Lenovo?s parts list those parts are:5B40J08368 HDD Bracket  and5C10J08424 HDD Cable As much as I have tried I cannot find any option for purchasing these parts on-line. Please advise of options to acquire.

My battery was charging fine and then I clicked on the battery icon today to open up and the menu and it went from telling me the battery was plugged in and charging to plugged in and not charging. It was like clicking the icon turned off the charging capability. This is a brand new computer, I've only had it for a couple weeks. The battery and adapater are both okay according to OneKey Optimizer, so I can't figure out why it's not charging. Currently running Windows 10 if that helps.

Answer:Lenovo Flex 3-1120 Plugged in, not charging

Does your battery stay at about 60%?  If so, then there actually is no problem.  Lenovo Flex 3 has a feature called "Conservation Mode," which keeps the battery from charging all the way.  This will supposedly increase the lifespan of the battery, which is a good thing, since the battery isn't meant to be replaced.  If you want to charge the battery normally, just click on the battery guage on the taskbar.  You'll find the setting there.

When I push the start button on right side of the notebook, it will begin to start up.  The 'Lenovo' screen comes on but then the screen goes black and does not start.  I try pushing the start button again but not until I push it for a third time will the windows come up on the screen.  Is this normal or is there a problem I should have fixed?  thanks

Hello, My windows updated a few weeks ago and after the update I had a few issues with my touch pad and sound. I was able to roll back my touch pad driver and fix the problem but there has been no update to Realtek High Definition Audio Driver for several years so there was nothing to roll back to. The issue I have been having that my sound has been contstently going up leaving the sound bar on the screen (A picture is attach below if it helps). This has become very annoying since I  have not found a way to get rid of this. So far I have tried updating and deleting then reinstalling the driver but the sound bar remains. Therefore, is there any way I can fix this? Any help will be much appreciated. Thanks,SoundMax

I recently updated to the Windwos 10 Fall Creators update (Build 1709, 16299.125), and as soon as I updated, the graphics driver failed and switched to the Microsoft Basic Display Adapter. I tried updating and rolling back the driver without success. My driver right now is at the latest version (10.18.10.4358). I already tried fixing this issue with Microsoft support but they couldn't find any solutions. Microsoft Support Link: https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_10-hardware/intel-hd-graphics-not-working-...

Hello !I have a Lenovo Flex 14 Touch (i3, 4Go, Win 8.1 64bits) for nearly a month now, and it's quite perfect. Only one thing (or 2 in 1) bothers me : - the virtual keyboard won't remain on screen, it closes itself without doing anything... the problem is happening either i have opened the virtual keyboard myself (in the task bar) or when it's triggered automaticcaly when i'm in touch mode (to enter login and password for example). This is annoying when i want to use the laptop in touch mode AND use the virtual keyboard...- second trouble : when i'm in touch mode, and i want to come back in classic mode with the physical keyboard, this one is going nuts : the letters won't work or they are doing some shortcuts i didn't ask for... this trouble is more disturbing, considering that i have to reboot my laptop to solve it. All the last drivers are installed, all the Windows updates as well. I couldn't find any results on google or lenovo community, so i'm asking for help here  Thanks for your future answers !

I just got my Flex 2 yesterday, updated it to Windows 10, and have had few troubles, with the exception of running Youtube videos. I have tried using the latest versions of Internet Explorer, Firefox, and Chrome to play Youtube videos on each quality setting (although I tended to stick to the lower-quality settings hoping for something better), but the videos buffer endlessly and I haven't been able to get anything to play. Although Flash and Javascript are both running and updated, the videos still don't play. I've wondered if it has had something to do with Flash continually crashing in Chrome, but I have checked and there are not two programs conflicting, nor is the problem only limited to Chrome.  (By the way, I checked by trying to play a video on Vimeo as well; the same failure happened, and was not able to stream a video there, either.) Since I didn't try to access Youtube before I updated Windows 10 I don't know if it is a problem with Windows 10, but after going through Youtube troubleshooting options I am out of ideas of what to do next. Would anyone have ideas that would help me stream videos in a timely manner?

External microphone works just fine. I tried to enable/disable this Microphone array as well - no help. Used F4 button to block/unblock - no help either. What esle I can do? Thanks,Hov

Also,
Check the Mixer/Audio settings whether Mic is turned on.
Depending on the used software it might happen, that it disables the microphone while ending the program (Skype, ICQ etc.)

ok this is a long 1. ive just built my first pc, new tower, new motherboard, new processor. my trouble is my memory, a friend lent me some ram as ive not the money at the mo to buy it. he let me have 2 256mb memory, ive put them in but things seemed a bit slow so i checked to see wot memory was reading. it comes up with 190mb so i took 1 stick out n tried again, still 190mb. so i changed the sticks round and its the same again. My motherboard is a Jetway A353DMS with onboard ATI graphics n the processor is a Celeron D 2.8ghzeverything seems fine apart from the memory which is a pain as its slowing things up. now i check the M'board manual n it says it takes DDR266, 333, 400 n a couple off pages on says it DDR SDRAM clock is set at 166mhz to use only PC2700-compliant DDR. so does this mean that u can get DDR266 in other compliant formats n that the sticks i got could be wrong? or is there a setting in xp or in the BIOS that can be changed to sort it out. sorry its long but i really wnt help with this

Answer:built a pc but having memory troubles

I would go with what Crucial say click here perhaps the memory you have is ECC type.

Hi there,

A few days back, I turned on my laptop and the built-in webcam wasn't working anymore. Usually, a little side bar with tools and things for the webcam would appear every time I turned on my laptop, but instead I got this message:

"Web camera initialization failed. Please check your camera device and restart application or computer."

I've read a few solved forum posts of the same nature and most spoke of going into Device Manager and seeing exclamation marks beside something or finding Image Device or Webcam in the Device Manager folder. The unfortunate thing is that I have not seen any of these things while looking through Device Manager and the likes. Anybody have any idea what to do?

P.S. My laptop is a Toshiba Satellite A500

Thanks in advance for any help you can provide! I'm trying to stay in touch with friends who've moved overseas and would enjoy being able to use my webcam for Skype and things of that sort [And if you need me to post screenshots of things, please just let me know how to post a picture as a response. I'm quite clueless when it comes to technology, haha]

Answer:Built-in Webcam Troubles

If the webcam device (or unknown device signified by a ?) is not listed at all in Device Manager. that usually means the actual device itself may be faulty, in which case you can overcome the problem by buying an external webcam.

If you think it's just a software or driver issue and not hardware, you may want to try re-installing the webcam driver first too see if that fixes it. Go here and click Downloads: http://www.csd.toshiba.com/cgi-bin/tais/support/jsp/home.jsp

You'll need to look on the underside of the laptop for the exact model number as there were over a dozen different models in the A500 series.

hello all,

i posted a few days ago about my cd-rom and cd-rw drive. both are made by sony the cd-rw drive is a crx230ed (if that helps). here's what happend...i hooked everthing up and installed windows xp pro. everything was good except my cd-rw drive would not open. i tried it on another machine and found it opened no problem. so i tried some thing like drive boot order, setting jumpers to CS (cable select). finally i had to set my cd-rw drive as the master drive using the little jumpers in the back and i set the cd-rom drive as the slave drive using the jumpers also. so now my cd-rw is my E drive and cd-rom is my D drive. i installed roxio burning software but it doesn't recognize my cd-rw drive. i tried opening the D (my cd-rw drive) manually and dropping the files i wanted to burn into it but it says "DRIVE IS NOT ACCESSIBLE". i even went to disk management and set my cd-rom drive to D and the cd-rw drive to E but no change. what should i do?

My Flex 15's in-built volume control that rests on the right hand side never worked correctly to begin with. This was a small issue and it did not bother me in the slightest as the rest of the laptop worked perfectly. Now however it is causing a big issue.  Here is a link to a post that describes the problem in detail on tom's hardware --> http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/answers/id-2253230/volume-slider-notification-disappear-volume-stuck.h... Essentially I just want to know if there's a way to disable this control as I'm almost certain it's the root of the problem. Any help would be appreciated, thank you.

Answer:Flex 15 in-built volume control causing issues

Sounds like your volume rocker switch is stuck. If it is under warranty, I'd send it in. If out of warranty, you can try tapping the volume down button repeatedly to try and release it. The buttons are usually wired directly into the APU, not as a peripheral device that can be disabled.

Did you attach the 6-pin PCI-E power, if you do have a card?

I put together a system with a DFI 875i Lan Party Pro mobo, Intel 2.4C P4 and 512mb of ram. I have two HD's I want to use, but I can only re-write one as the other has important info on one partition. That old partition used to be my boot up drive and will be again once I get the data transfered onto the smaller hdd. Now, my problem is that I lost my XP pro install CD's. I have no problem going out and buying another copy as it is the only way I'll go, but I have an old ISO of XP which doesn't boot in either of my disk drives. I put it in the master drive which is a TDK CD RW and on the DVD drive. I am wondering is it that something else is wrong? or what do I need to do? Everything was fine until I one day my HDD stopped booting on my old system, then I bough new parts and built another but I cannot get XP installed. Do I just need to get another copy? Are their student discounts on XP pro?

Do the CD-Drives come up in the bios, and have you changed your boot priority to where ATAPI CDROM is first. Also recheck your jumpers and that you get power to your drives. I know those are simple things but often the most overlooked. If no go there, be a bit more specific on what happens during boot up, Do you POST, and just get stuck with the MISSING OPERATING SYSTEM screen

I haven't done any researches around the forums but I'll get straight to posting. I noticed that the camera is super black when I'm using it especially when using the Lenovo Motion Control feature. And the only way to make it brighter is to change the capture resolution on the Camera Man app. I tried reinstalling drivers and even fully recycling the PC. I guess that's not clear enough to make my question clear. The first time I use the Camera app was good enough. But the time I started using Lenovo Motion Control, it's unresponsive. I took a look at the camera app and found out that the camera wasn't really capturing anything. Well, it was but it's pitch black and it only captures very bright ilght sources. It's too annoying that I have to go to Camera Man app and change the capture resolution to make it lighter again for reuse. But it will revert back to pitch black again after quite some time not using it (or even in the next use seconds later). I also tried reinstalling the drivers with no luck. I reset my PC with no changes at all. Now I'm trying to fully recycle the PC to make sure that it's not a hardware issue. The last resort is bringing the unit back to the store and demand the same model even if they have to pull it out from different branches. I also noticed that there is some sort of unusual color shift on the lower left part of the screen where an rgb(0,0,0) still display a different color other than black. My new netbook has a built in camera that I'd like to use - however, there doesn't appear to be any on-board software to do so.

When the netbook was new the camera would show up in "My Computer" but now it doesn't - which I believe was caused by my disabling a number of services. The only other cause I can think of would be the removal of bloatware, but I tried to be very careful when doing this by researching everything first.

Anyway, the OEM tech support was no help at all (send it in? sure thing - NOT!). Device Manager shows the camera as functioning properly. Can I simply install an app to use it?

If so, can anyone recommend a good piece of freeware so I can use the camera's basic functions (taking pictures and video)?

Thanks Much

I have this Lorex system http://www.avdeals.ca/lorex/SG6831S.htm that i am trying to make record on a VCR. The instructions don't tell me how to hook it up to a VCR and i am clueless. There is a "remocon" Ethernet port in the back. I assume this means remote connection. So i am hoping this port is streaming out a video feed which i could in turn plug in my laptop and record video on the laptop instead of the VCR. This may be far-fetched, but it was an idea. Is there any hope?

I spent quite a bit of time yesterday trying to make some recordings with the integrated camera on my W520. After learning that Lenovo didn't provide any software for this purpose, I searched around online and tried various options. Windows Movie Maker seemed like a sure bet since it clearly has a huge audience, but it keeps immediately giving me messages like "camera disconnected" or "make sure the device is not in use". The peculiar thing is that it obviously can pull *some* data from the camera since it shows a still of me sitting there perplexed. = P The camera is definitely functional, as evidenced by Autolock giving good streaming footage. Yawcam also works, but doesn't provide any useful recording-options. Is there a driver-issue here? I searched and searched the driver-website, but nothing I tried worked. I also tried uninstalling Autolock (which is a feature I'm fine without) with the thought that maybe it was keeping an exclusive lock on the device, but had no success. Has anyone else had a similar problem? Any ideas?

Answer:W520 Camera Recording Troubles

hey Calon, try uninstalling the current webcam drivers that you have, go to - http://support.lenovo.com/en_US/downloads/detail.page?DocID=DS015018 . download the latest camera driver; install and try again.

Hello Masters. I already upgraded my laptop so I could play Counter Strike: Source just like what you have told me on my previous post hehe

Now, I noticed that this laptop has a built-in camera. However, I checked add new scanner or camera device and was not able to locate this webcam. I checked Device Manager and seen something under 'Imaging Device' which is an HP Truevision HD. I was wondering if this is the build-in camera already? If it is, then how could I make it work? Do I need to install another program? I was trying to ask Google to no avail, unless I'm just quite noob with wholesome search techniques. Pardon me.

Or if it is not the HP Truevision, how could I know that this thing is still working or a display and needed to be ignored already? Moreover, I would like to thank you all in advance for checking this post and letting me know what to do. Sorry for this thing, just feeding my curiosity //humbly bows//

Answer:Cannot Setup Built-in Camera

Does it work here,

If it does you just need a program to interact with it.

I have an Asus Eee Pc 1005HAG win7/32bit,with In-Built Camera,for the last three months i have been trying to ascertain why its abnormal since i bought it,i have searched extensively online,the manufacturers website,forums etc unfortunately i could not find a fix,though am not a computer savvy i have conducted basic practical investigation on my computer,below is what i have discovered;
1-in BIOS,On-board devices,the Camera option is 'ENABLED'
2-in Device Manager, camera does not show up,its not attached anywhere on the 'tree' even when flags are open!
3-dropdown on Imaging Device under Device Manager, there is no USB 2.0 ...Webcam attached, instead it has Lexmark x422 device which has a problem indicator,a yellow '!' exclamatory mark, further investigations led me to conclude that it had a driver problem, code error 10 and could not start.the solution given to fix this driver problem was to reinstall it.i did reinstall and i updated it following the recommended procedure, the screen message i got was that windows had determined that the driver software for the device Lexmark x422 was up to date but the problem indicator did not erase, and on troubleshooting again, the message i got was that windows had found the correct drivers for the device on the computer but encountered an error and could not install the drivers.i repeated these operations a couple of times but it was never fixed.

Answer:Built-in camera abnormal

Hi

The yellow ! mark with the lexmark is not your issue with the webcam, but the webcam and no other yellow ! marks in Device Manager is a worrying issue as its more leaning towards for me a hardware issue.

How old is this Asus or when was if bought as if it is still in warrenty then it should be returned.

I would be tempted to try and re-install the Chipset driver and reboot and then see if the camera works.

Install also .Net 3.5 or 4.0 HERE and HERE

reboot and try again as some webcams need .Net to work.

I've recently been having some troubles with my built-in web cam. I have a Gateway LT series 1005u netbook with windows XP. When I first got it, the webcam worked just fine. I don't know what happened, but I didn't use it for a while and when I started using it again, it had some issues. If I made any sudden movements while using the webcam it would freeze, or if I moved the laptop/adjusted the moniter it would freeze, and I would have to refresh the internet browser I was using. Often times, it would display a striped pattern. I would restart the computer and then it would work fine. But just this evening, it didn't show up under the list of webcams, or my computer, but it showed on the Add/remove programs. I looked around for a bit and read somewhere that I should try uninstalling and re-installing the driver. I un-installed it but didn't realize I didn't know how to re-install it. Yeah, stupid. It still shows up on the add/remove programs page, though. I'm not sure how to get it working again.

I think this is a simple question. Does the camera arrived with a protective film that needs to be removed. It is difficult to see and if there is a protective cover it does not apprear to be easily removable. Can someone adivse me please. Thank you,Pete

Answer:X200 built in Camera

It arrives with a protective film covering the plate hosting the camera (longer than 2cm for sure). Actually, if you try to use the camera without removing the film, say in Skype/MSN, you won't be able to see the video acceptable.

Hi,

I've a brand new Satellite P50-B-11V. After one day I detected a problem with the built camera and microphone. The camera works fine and the microphone too if the camera is not connected. Connecting the camera boost the microphone to maximum creating a terrible noise...So it's impossible to use camera and microphone together. Reducing the microphone boost to 0% does not solve the problem.

Is this an hardware problem? Does someone have this problem too? Drivers problem?

This is very annoying and disappointing, a day after the purchase this happens! This is not acceptable even more in a laptop which is not cheap.

Thanks

Hello, the built-in camera on my T-530 is not working. I made a thread about it on Microsoft's support site, but I haven't been able to resolve the issue. http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows8_1-hardware/built-in-webcam-not-working-cor... When I try to capture video with a program, All I get is this symbol:It does this with every program I've tried including Camera, Windows Movie Maker, and Skype. The programs can still record videos and save them, but the only thing that appears in them is this symbol. I've tried changing my permission settings. I can give skype permission to use the built-in camera, but it doesn't help. For whatever reason I don't have to option to give permission to Camera or to Movie Maker. I've also reinstalled the driver for my camera. Then I ran the Lenovo Solution Center and Lenovo Thinkvantage System Update and updated everything I could. Based on the advice I got from Microsoft tech support I have run the hardware trouble shooter, installed all the Windows updates I could get, reinstalled the built-in camera driver in compatibility mode and updated my BIOS driver. After all of that, it still doesn't work. Any help would really be appreciated!

Hi Tielke_viol, Welcome to Lenovo Community!
As per the query we understood that you are facing the issue with Camera on your ThinkPad T530.
Please check if the system is having Lenovo dependence package, if not install it and restart the system. Search for Lenovo setting and go to camera option set the security from privacy to normal. Hope this helps.

Answer:cant get my built in camera to work

If you can see an error for "imaging device" in Device Manager, try re-installing the driver from the laptop maker's website.

If there is no error in Device Manager, and your webcam is not listed there, that's usually a sign that the webcam itself is faulty so Windows cannot detect it - effectively it doesn't exist any more.

A easy remedy is to buy an external webcam (Logitech, Microsoft or Creative). don't buy a cheap brand with an obscure name as it will not last long.

Answer:Using in-built camera in T400

You can take a picture from any application that supports Twain importing.   I use an application called PMView, but any imaging app with twain support will do.  If you have all the apps which shipped with the computer installed the Roxio app will allow you to take stills and video.

hi there,
im having a problem with my vaio webcam.

most of times it doesnt work..
in the device manager it appears as "other drivers"
inside have two
1- 5U876 device
the device status says: The drivers for this device are not installed. (Code 28)
There is no driver selected for the device information set or element.
To find a driver for this device, click Update Driver.

2- unknow device (this one appeared after i tryed to install another driver, not from vaio website)
this one says: No drivers are installed for this device.
ps: after installing this second driver, the next day the camera was working again after a long time. then stoped again.

and every time i try to install it says windows couldnt install, or say this driver is for windows vista, eventhough i took from the right place for my model and OS in vaio website.

however rarely the cam with apparently no reason starts to work again.
then in the devices manager it apear as "image devices" if im not wrong
with these drivers: \arcsoftksufilter.sys
\ksthunk.sys
\usbvideo.sys

i already sent my laptop to the assistance they said they changed the webcam but the problem still

i checked in the system information/components/problem devices and shows this 5U876 device USB\VID_05CA&PID_18FF\5&354E63ED&0&2 The drivers for this device are not installed.

Hello, I have two strange problems with a Fujitsu Siemens Esprimo Mobile V5545 laptop, running Windows 8.1.

The wi-fi is not detected when I turn of the computer. It shows the symbol for signal with a plus next to the clock. So each time I start, I have to go to Network and Sharing / Change adapter settings / right click the wireless (it is a Intel Pro Wireless 3945ABG) - Disable and then Enable.

After that it works fine, but I have to do this each time.

The built in webcam is missing completely. Is not listed in Device Manager, there's not even a section for images devices.

The other day, I wanted to see if there's something in Bios, but I failed to catch the moment when you can enter it. So right after starting Windows, without activating wifi or anything, I pressed restart.
And: surprise. The computer started with everything working right away. The wifi adapter logged to the network without disable/enable and when I looked at the Device Manager, there was a section Imaging devices or so, and USB camera listed. I was even able to use the webcam perfectly.
From than on, when I open the computer it's all as usual: the webcam missing and the wifi needs to be disabled.
Is there a possibility I could make it start with these components like it did after that reboot? :)

hello Is it possible to use the built-in camera to take a 'snap shot', store it as a file and e-mail it? How would one go about it? thank you

Answer:built-in camera for 'snap shots'?

What operating system are you using? Are you referring to a Screen Shot or wanting to save a picture of what is on the screen?

I have Windows 7 and prefer to use the Snipping Tool, also known as SnipIt. I linked Microsoft instructions for using the Snipping Tool.

For the whole screen shot, with most OS, you can look for the print screen button on your keyboard. Mine says "prt sc".
If that doesn't work, try holding the "fn" button and press the "prt sc" button at the same time.

I hope this information helps!

Hello Brain Trust, I just purchased a HP Envy laptop days ago and it has a built in Intel RealSense 3D Camera. The apps that come with the computer can't detect the 3D Camera at all. The device manager is telling me that it is functioning. I thought maybe there is a button or setting I am just missing to make this thing work. I can't tell. Or it could be something interal as the camera wasn't connected. the RealSense Training just says there is an issue connection with the camera and no error code or message is given past this point. I have been waiting for hours now to talk with HP Chat Support and the one time I got connected, I was quickly disconnected. So I figured I would try here. Since the computer is only days old. If there isn't an obvious easy fix; I am just going to return it. Thanks for any help or information you can send my way. Davey

Background:  I have HP Support Assistant running and do all the updates regularly. Chipset/BIOS updates I have made regularly as well so the machine is up to date. I did upgarde to Windows 8.1 as soon as I got my machine less than a year ago Problem: Never used built-in webcam so I dont know if it ever worked, but trying to use it now and Cyberlink Youcam said there was no camera. Went to device manager and there is no built-in camera listed (it shows my external Logitech but not the built-in camera) Would like to know how to get the built-in camera working. Thanks!

Hi @ALMAdmin, Welcome to the HP Support Forums! I saw your post regarding the problems with the webcam not working for you. Here is an HP document Webcam Troubleshooting with some troubleshooting steps to try. If that link doesn't work then it is most likely a hardware issue, I would recommend calling HP regarding a repair. You can reach HP Total Care at 1-800-474-6836 in North America or start here if you live outside of North America.

Hi,

Some time ago while login to Skype I discovered that the integrated camera and microphone stopped working (not detected). I searched the forums looking for some tips, also Toshiba support site (no specific camera drivers for P50-C?), checked BIOS (camera enabled), device manager (does not detect the integrated camera in imaging devices), performed system restore, etc. I found Microsoft (Win10) forum pretty useless in this case- tried to figure out some generic drivers.

Any suggestions please? Thank you.

Sorry buddy but I can really do not understand what is wrong there. I have the same notebook with ?factory settings? and everything works well.

Now I ask myself what is wrong in your case. Have you also ?factory settings? or what?
Check please device manager and check if the cam is disabled there.

Hello everyone, I have problem with built-in camera that is not working at all. I have a Lenovo G500 Laptop with operating system Windows 8 Pro (64-bit). My built-in camera is not working, Widows Photo app asks me to connect camera, and Skype reports that it hasn't found any camera device. When I go to Device Manager, there isn't such tab as "Imaging Devices" but there is a tab "Other Devices" where is one "Unknown Device". Device location is listed as "Port_#0004.Hub_#0005", device status reports: "Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)", and hardware ID says only "USB\DEVICE_DESCRIPTOR_FAILURE". I am almost sure that this is my malfunctioning camera.Automatically find drivers for it doesn't work. I've also tried uninstalling driver for that unknown device and run scan for recent hardware changes resulting only in re-appearing of mentioned unknown device. I've tried to download driver from http://support.lenovo.com/sk/sk/products/laptops-and-netbooks/lenovo-g-series-laptops/lenovo-g500-no... , however when I try to install it, an error message appears: "no appropriate driver to be installed". I've tried DriverScanner app as well. But this found only unknown device, just as Device Manager. I am sorry to bother you, but I am really hopeless now. Am I really forced to buy external camera or is there a solution fir this issue?

Answer:Satellite A300 - built in camera hangs

What hangs?

Does the whole system hang? Or just the webcam application?

Have you installed drivers for another USB device recently?

Try updating the BIOS, which can be found on the Toshiba website.
