Lenovo FLEX 3: Lenovo Settings bug and Trackpad question

Question: Lenovo FLEX 3: Lenovo Settings bug and Trackpad question

Just unboxed my Lenovo Flex 3 and so far I pretty much love it. My only problem is I cannot access the "Lenovo Settings" app on Windows 8.1. It asks if I want to send info back to the devs to help with the app but then it freezes and sends me back to the desktop. Is there a fix for this problem? Also, I am unsure how to change my preferences for my trackpad. I go to Control Panel, but there is no option for "Mouse" like I am used to to adjust my touch preferences. Any help on this too? Thanks guys,Stephen

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hello I sent in my Lenovo Flex 15 for warrenty to fix a my loose trackpad. When I got it back the trackpad was still loose but now:1) the trackpad causes the mouse to skip when I drag my finger across - like it jumpsa large distance2) the keyboard is not registering random keys Pretty sure this is not a driver issue as I did a factory reset and I still have these problems. Is there anyway to fix this? I can't send my computer in till December as I just started school.

I would like to change the scrolling speed of my lenovo yoga 910 but the only settings I see are the tracpad gestures and mouse settings in mouse and tracpad settings. This looks like a windows 10 issue but some other laptops have additional settings for trackpad and I would like to know they exist for this ultrabook. I also wonder if I can configure the trackpad gestures. For example I want to add/configure the dragging gesture from double-tap to three finger tap and drag. It seems that you can only turn them on/off. Again, this seems to be a windows 10 issue but any help is appreciated.

Hi everybody i hope you are all doing great. Laptop Details:Lenovo Y50-70 Laptop (Lenovo) 203784720hq512ssd960m16gb ram I made a clean install to my lenovo laptop so I lost some essential applications that came with my laptop. I installed almost all the drivers and apps at lenovo driver support download page without problems but i could not find some of lenovo apps that came in my laptop when i bought it and I really need them. The only one available in the driver download page were Lenovo energy manger. The most importants for me that i need are lenovo onekey recovery app and lenovo updates. For onekey recovery I only need the app, not the files to restore the whole partition, because the recovery partition is intact, I did not format it. So I only need the app that opens it. Th apps I want to get back are:1. Lenovo Onekey Recovery app - The one I am more interested in.2. "Lenovo Updates' (lenovo updates is the name of the app) The scond one im am more interested in.3. Lenovo Settings4. Lenovo companion If someone can guide me to where to download each of them, it would be great. I would need for windows 8.1 64 bit or windows 10. Thank You, I hope you can help me.

Answer:Where do I download Lenovo Y50 Onekey Recovery, Lenovo Settings. "Lenovo updates", Lenovo Companion?

Go to the Windows Store and do a search on "Lenovo."   You will find almost all the apps you need are available there.

I am a writer and I use the keyboard almost exclusively so I need the touchpad almost NEVER.  In the absence of a keystroke chord or a set of strokes, I have to open Settings to get to Touchpad and Disable it.  Having Lenovo Settings out of order for so long is a major bummer because my fat hands continously mark large portions of text and when I hit the wrong [right?] key, ZIP the text goes away. If I'm not paying attention, that portion of my deathless prose is lost.   Hey! It happens.  OK? No, seriously, my warranty is about to expire and I would like to know if this thing is going to be fixed, or is there a set of keystrokes to disable the touchpad - like there should be?  Thanks guys.  I'm at laeva65  at  gmail Jack in Phoenix AZ

Hi there,About 2 weeks ago I purchased this Lenovo in Romania which came with preinstaled windows 8(.1) license. However, the system run very slowly so I erased the harddrive, completley and installed a clean new 8.1 operating system using an original ms dvd but the system even after had all it's drivers installed was still very laggy compared to an old laptop of mine which run on a i2310m cpu. So I had it returned but the online site tolled me that I scratched the lcd cover(which I didnt) and asked me for 100euros and another 50 euros to restore to factory settings. Now, I asked them to return the laptop to restore the harddrive to original Lenovo settings but I cant find any source to do that on my own. I received no cd/dvd to the laptop. Please, any help would be apreciated.

Hi everyone.  I am desperate,  i bought a Lenovo idea flex 10 second hand back in 2013 and I have been absolutely happy with it. I did something really stupid though, I have lost access to all my emails from back then ( was hacked by an ex boyfriend) and when I reset my passwords,  i actually fortgot to note them and when my smartphone fell and I broke the screen I lost all access.  Now I badly need to reset my computer cause I need Internet for my job - I am a teacher online and I am in full on panic mode right now.  I have accessed bios thanks to someone here but I don't know what to do from there on.  Please help! Thank you !

Answer:Locked out of Lenovo flex 10- I need help to reset factory settings please

Sorry to hear of your problems.

Are you looking to access the computer by circumventing the passwords or are you looking to restore the computer to its original condition like when you first received it?

If it is a password related problem, discussion related to by-passing passwords is not permitted by forum rules due to the ease in which laptops can be stolen.

Hello,I've searched the computer, the help documentation, the internet and this forum and I have yet to find the settings for changing the way the trackpad functions. For example, the scroll feature operates in reverse from what I prefer, and I don't know how to change this. I'm running windows 8.1. My thinkpad edge 420 running Windows 7 had many settings to customize the trackpad. I wouldn't think this would be hard to find, but so far I've been stymied. Thank you for any help.

Hello everyone. Few days ago my laptop has made some update itself. And now I got few problems. First I noticed that my Google Chrome started to NOT respond. Then I couldn't even open any Folder on my PC. I tried to reset it with 10 second pressing on/off button. But nothing has changed. On the second day when I tried to zoom in on my Touch Screen, noticed that it doesn't work. Neither does keyboard on screen working. I have reinstalled my PC. Waited for half a day.... and it showed ALPS Apoint2k isn't working. I have tried everything. Downloading new drivers from manufacturer, scaning Windows and all that. Today I found out that there is no Tablet PC settings on my laptop anymore. When writing in Windows Search TABLET PC SETTINGS, it comes that " Tablet Buttons are not installed on this computer" "For more information, check the documentation that came with your computer or go to the computer manufacturer's website" Can anyone help me,please?((

Hi, Recently I was making a Full back up (as always) of the Flex 2-15 HD with Macrium and suddenly, when Macrium was backing up the C: partition, it stopped and sent an error 1117 which is NOT good, so after reading on the web , I performed a repair CheckDisk process, but upon finishing, on the log  appeared a couple of UN-repairable sectors, so to make a long story short, I ordered a new  SSD to replace my internal SSHD and my question is IF it is possible to restore all the partitions (with exception of the C one which is the one that is damaged) to the NEW drive and  after installing it, use "OneKey recovery" to restore windows 8.1? Thanks a lot in advance for any help on this issue

Answer:Lenovo Flex 2-15, Onekey recovery question?

hi Diazruanova1,

Welcome to the Forums.

As per this article, restoring, resize, and reordering of  individual partitions via Macrium Reflect is possible but the OneKey Recovery depends on the entire partition structure of the drive for it to work (i.e., If you originally have 5 partitions and you only restored 4, OneKey Recovery will not be able to run as the drive letters and/or sector alignment will be different).

If you have a good working Macrium image backup of all the partitions, I recommend you restore them all first on the SSD then run OneKey Recovery.

Note:
You can only use OneKey Recovery to restore to a drive with same capacitity or higher. If you use a smaller drive (e.g., 256GB SSD), you will need to either create a recovery drive and edit the create partition primary size entry as discussed in this thread and use it to restore on the SSD.

Regards

I've been using conservation mode for my new (1 month) lenovo laptop every time I put the AC adapter in it. I thought that this was going to help me endure my battery life, but in the end I've stacked with the fact, that battery's stamina went much more lower. For example, I could use my laptop in a battery economy mode/conservation turned off for 5-6 hours, now it barely lasts 3 hrs with the same settings and the same pattern of usage. Just for record, 21 minute of watching a film costs my battery from 10-20% now, while before it was not an issue at all, I hardly can tell that it drained me more than 5%. Also, right now, while typing this, I've noticed, that behaviour of my percentage bar is also really strange: first it shows 75%, then, after 5 minutes, it showes 73%, without getting through 74%. And as a one big plus to that, my battery status says that my battery is normal, just normal, while before it was great or something like that. I find it strange because it is 1 month old notebook, as I mentioned earlyer. Now I am trying to recalibrate my battery, for the 3d time, hoping it would help me, but I really wish to hear your opinion about that, maybe there is something that I don't know about, something that can help me. P.S. It is 70% now, gezus

Right, you mentioned it turned blue with a sad face, that is a Blue Screen of Death (or proper term is Kernel bugcheck) which indicates something has gone wrong.

Hello! I have been an owner of the K450e for a while and have just begun to upgrade its graphics card, power supply, and RAM. However, I've run into a problem in the RAM part. The particular K450e that I have comes with two 4GB RAM sticks, specificially Micron's MT8JTF51264AZ-1G6. They are 1600 MHz, 1.5V, and 11-11-11-28. Today, I bought two more 4GB RAM sticks from Amazon, but although they match as 1600 MHz and 1.5V, the sticks are 9-9-9-24. After browsing through many forums, I've come to the answer that BIOS's can either have an auto function where the faster RAM sticks simply perform at the slower RAM sticks level or that BIOS's can be used to manually set the faster RAM sticks to the slower one's settings. However, I've come to the realization that the Lenovo Motherboard Model #10181's BIOS does not have the ability to manually set the settings. Now, for the ultimate questions:1.) Does this motherboard have the "auto" setting that will simply cause my faster RAM sticks to perform at the same level as my slower RAM sticks?-----or-----2.) Will this cause lots of instability in the K450e instead?-----or-----3.) Does the motherboard actually have the ability to change the BIOS settings and I'm unable to find them? and if so, is this still going to cause instability in the K450e?Thank you very much!

Answer:Question about Lenovo K450e and BIOS + RAM settings

Hello Paulie,

have you tried removing the original RAM and testing the system with only the RAM you purchased and did / does it work?  It's very possible that the RAM you purchased is incompatible with the original Lenovo supplied RAM; this actually happens quite often.

My suggestion, assuming your system functions with both types of RAM individually indicating a mis-match, would be to use a memory manufacturer's recommended RAM; they almost all have tools to help find system compatible RAM.

I used Lenovo Settings on my Lenovo Yoga 3 11 for the battery conservations mode. So I was forced to install Lenovo Companion since it recently replaced Lenovo Settings.Ever since I did this, I have noticed the following:* Screen brightness keeps changing by itself slightly* Screen contrast keeps changing by itself slightly* Colours look muted and unsaturated, and filtered. Makes the sceen look worse than it should.* trackpad is only ignorred if the tablet mode is fully flat. The slightest opening causes the trackpad and keyboard to become sensitive. All of this irrespective of whether Dynamic Brighness Control is enabled or disabled in Lenvovo Companion hardware settings, and regarless of whether recommended hardware settings are used.Anyone else noticed anything similar? I'll report back after I've uninistalled the app to see whether any of these behaviours disappear.

Answer:Noticed issues ever since I installed Lenovo Companion (which replaced Lenovo Settings)

So I deactivated "Change brightness autoatically when lighting changes" in Windows Display Settings. This seems to have been the cause of the brightness and contrast changes, but the colours still look blander than I recall. Sorry to suspect Lenovov Companion so quickly, but the changes coincided with it's installation. Admittedly Windows 10 Fall edition just landed too.

Using Windows 10 version 1511 and all updates.  Used the Lenovo System Update and everything has been updated.  I wanted to turn on the built-in camera on my Lenovo Thinkpad Edge 530, the F5 key, and it came up with a message saying, "This key combination opens the Lenovo Settings Program. You do not have the Lenovo Settings Program installed on your computer. To launch the program using this key combination, install the program first." I went and downloaded the Thinkpad Settings Dependency for Windows 10, restarted the laptop and it still doesn't work. Even the Lenovo System Update program has it and I also downloaded it.  I restarted the laptop again and it still doesn't work. I then went to install the Lenovo Settings App on the Windows store and it doesn't look like the right one plus it still didn't work. My other problem is with the Lenovo Companion App from the Windows Store.  It worked before but now it ask to "Please install or update the Lenovo System Interface Driver for full functionality of Companion, then restart the app after installation."  I have installed the Lenovo System Interface Driver multiple times and it still popped up that message.  Yes, I have restarted the laptop and Companion.   Is there a reason why these issues are happening and how to fix it?  Thank you in advance.

Since you have to hunt around different Lenovo sites (and other sites) to find out about these softwares, I decided to make a post to get feedback from actual Yoga owners on how these programs interact, what they do, which ones are prerequisite, and which ones are unnecessary. Please don't take this as a blanket answer. This is just what I have found. It might be right - it might be wrong. I'm looking for others to post their experiences as well. Lenovo System Interface Foundation Driver - Necessary prerequisite (missing driver in device manager without it). It allows the Lenovo Utility and Lenovo Companion to work. Lenovo Yoga Mode Control - Necessary if you want to use your yoga to seemlessly change between all the different modes (laptop, tablet, tent, stand). This software is responsible for autorotating and putting Windows into tablet mode. Lenovo Utility - Recommended(?) This one I'm not too sure on. I remember that I was missing some function that I wanted but I can't remember what it was now. Maybe battery cycle count and health? Lenovo Companion - I don't have this one installed and don't think it's necessary but would like someone else to shed some light here.

Hi, I'm totally new here and I have a quick question i'm hoping some of you could help me with. I'm in the market for a Netbook, and I'm pretty close to purchasing a Red S10-3 off eBay (I love red) and I feel like I'd love everything except the trackpad, and I was hoping that some people who own it could weigh in on the issue. I understand the click portion of it is built in. I've played around with a macbook pro, which has the same type of thing I believe. Right now on my older macbook, I love having a seperate clicker. I've heard its hard to press? Unfortunately, no stores around me carry it so I can't test it out myself.   Oh-also two finger scrolling is REALLY important to me. I believe you can et it to do it, but again im not completely sure. If someone could confirm thad be great!  Thanks!

Hey Everyone, Glad to be part of the Growing Lenovo Community. I recently purchased a pre-loved Lenovo Laptop at a very reasonable price. True Enough, there have been some problems but at the Price I bought it for these were all acceptable...(think: 512 MB RAM, 80 GB Locked HDD - no unlock code, a bit of wear and tear, no camera)... These were all Fine, I've upgraded it to 2 GB RAM, placed a new HD - 160 GB, cleaned it a bit etc... Now it looks Good as New. Now the Problem: The Laptop is ready except that it doesn't have Drivers... I know, I know, Weird how a laptop was sold without drivers, but the desperation of my friend to sell the laptop and my eagerness to buy it from the desperate fool got the better of me.... Now I Don't Have any drivers at all.. I can't connect to the wireless internet, I can't even connect to LAN.... The Audio Doesn't have a driver as well... Can anyone help me find the equivalent of the Chinese Lenovo C461L and help me with the driver installation. I;d really like to get this "baby" back on track... and online.....

Answer:Hot Question: Lenovo 3000 Laptop from China. Is it Lenovo C461L?

I tried reinstalling the driver software for the pointer and this speeded it up for about 5 to 10 seconds after it reboots and then procedes to go back to the old speed.  Not sure how else to fix this.  Any help would be appreciated.

Hi everyone.  I was hoping someone might be able to help me out with a problem that I've been seeing on my Lenovo X1.   From time to time, the pad will stop responding properly. The cursor flashes with the busy icon and my cursor goes wild. It lags behind, it puts the cursor further than where I am directing it to go and it makes clicks that I have not made. If I use the knob and the buttons, it works fine (but that knob is very inconvenient).I have read that it may be related to a faulty power supply unit, but other than waiting for it to happen again so I can test that theory, does anyone have any ideas what could be causing this? Thanks! Edit: Title clarification.

Answer:Lenovo X1 Faulty Trackpad?

Hi DanJones662

Does the problem occur if the power adapter is disconnected? When it is randomly disconnected, does it produce any Windows hardware disconnect sound or does it still exist in Device Manager?

Try this
1. Try to run System Update and install any Critical / Important tab update.
2. Restart your computer, go into BIOS through F1, restore default settings and exit.

If those steps does not do any help, contact Technical Support. The connection between palmrest and the system board could be loosen.
Happy 2012!

Hi all, I just fixed my y510p from video artifacts due to a loose video cable connection, but when I put everything back together, my trackpad no longer works, and in device manager, I had an unknown device listed that was not there before. Anyone else had this problem, or have any ideas on how to fix it? I thought it may have been a cable that came loose when I was taking the computer apart, but I checked the connections to the trackpad and they're all good. Still not working though. Thanks in advance!

Hello, When I put the Laptop in Tablet Modus the pointer and the trackpad are automatically disabled. When I want to use the Laptop function again , I simply put the the laptop slowly in its initial position. Here I have the problem that the trackpad is still disabled. The only solution that I have found so far is to restart the computer.Restarting the computer is not a convinient solution. Can you please advice? I have downloaded the userguide and I am sending you in the attached file the proper explanation of "disabling trackpad" when changing the modus. I would be very thankful to read how to enable it again. Thank you in advance!Angelina

I am having trouble with the trackpad on the MiiX 510. It is often hard to correctly position the cursor, and sometimes I have to remove my finger from the trackpad in order to get it to respond. I have turned off all of the gestures but still don't always get good response. The driver is just a Microsoft driver and I don't see a Synaptics or other trackpad driver available.Any ideas on how to make the trackpad function more reliably? This is my only complaint on an otherwise fine product.

Anytime I press a button on my keyboard I can't use my mouse for about 2 seconds. After the 2 seconds, I can use my mouse, but not both at the same time. How do I lock the trackpad on the Lenovo x250? I find no shortkey on the keyboard to do this. Is it possible to lock it temporarily without disable it in BIOS or the mouse properties? I don't see any symbol on any key that seems to be related to turn off the trackpad. The fn + f6 or fn + f8 don't work for my lenovo model x250.It seems really stupid if you aren't able to turn off the trackpad. Can that really be the case with the Lenovo x250? Hey guys, So I just bought my first ever Lenovo laptop, the 3rd gen X1 Carbon. It's a great laptop, however, I absolutely hate all the extra software Lenovo puts on it. I find all of them useless and right now I'm having serious issues with the tracpkad. This happens basically:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=REU5CK9X19k&feature=youtu.be Is it my unit that's faulty or have you guys experienced anything similar? My initial assumption was that it's a software issue with Lenovo's trackpad, but I'm not able to fix it anyhow.  All in all the trackpad has been a dissapointment so far and I prefer not returning this machine because of it....

Although doesn't seem as serious as that shown in the video, I do have that problem too...especially when I swipe from left to right to switch between apps. You're not alone.

Basically what is stated above. The driver appears to disable my ability to use the trackpad while I am holding a key. Like if I were to hold W (if I were playing a game) the trackpad does not function. I looked through the trackpad settings to see nothing that could disable it other than palm settings (which did nothing when screwing with the slider). I contacted customer service via phone but to no avail. If you know a way to help me fix this issue that would be great. Cheers.

Hey community,

I have a yoga 3 pro and recently updated to windows 10. What a  idea!

Since than, I have the following problem:

The trackpad is functional weird.
When I restart or "power on" my laptop the following occurs:
Within the start button I cannot use the scroll function... (I cannot scroll to the "all apps menu" using the 2 finger guesture, I actually can not scroll at all in the start menu.)

When I put the laptop into hibernate mode and I wake it up again... it is all super weird... The scrolling still does not work but even the new task view menu using 3 fingers up scrolling does not work neither work the 4 finger guestures.

I of course tried the old driver and the scrollign works better ut the "new gesture" modes are not available PLUS Windows 10 forces me to update the trackpad driver.

Is this problem known to Lenovo and is there a problem solution in progress and more importantly are other users experiencing the same problem?

Hi I upgraded my hardrive to an SSD and ever since then my trackpad is slow and is unable to scroll with 2 fingures. I feel like I've tried everything. I tried to change the settings, then I tried updating drivers, then reinstalling drivers. I think I may have uninstalled them completely at this point and I don't know where to get them back for Windows 10. The only thing under "mice and other pointing devies" is Ps/2 Compatible Mouse; not sure if there should be somehting else. Also when I change settings in control pannel, like the speed, it does not effect the trackpad only external mice. If anyone can help me out it'd be much much apperciated.

Hello flarespire and welcome to community,

The issue could be due to some driver conflict.

Kindly uninstall the TouchPad driver and delete the extracted folder from C:\Drivers folder if exist.

Download the TouchPad driver from the lenovo website and also update the BIOS

The trackpad might break me here... it's absolutely terrible if you're the kind of user that likes to use single finger click and two finger right click exclusively. You can set it up for this behaviour but it basically disables the entire bottom third of the trackpad.

Are there tactile click locations for left and right click in the bottom corners?  Or is it totally "tap" sensing?  Mine shipped out yesterday and this was one of my concerns.  Another option that just went on sale, the ThinkPad X1 Tablet, has dedicated buttons like a traditional ThinkPad.  It's much pricier for the same hardware, though, and I like the Yoga flexibility compared to a Surface type setup.

Currently it looks like this:

It's quite frustrating as it's not accurate.

Is there a solution to this? - other than buying a new laptop.
I'm wondering if someone has zig/tweaked it so it can be used with buttons?
I was honestly wanting something like the below keyboard

Any help is much appreciated.

Hi, I have an issue where my Lenovo X1 Carbon 3rd Gen 20BS has an issue with trackpad and touchpad that have stopped functioning completely after 3 months of usage.  I've contact support and the technician recommend me the part replacement so Lenovo send me the new keyboard and i was able to do the keyboard replacement myself into the machine.. However, only touchpad is now working. Trackpad stil not working. I've tried downloading the latest ultranav driver from lenovo website and latest driver from Synaptics to replace my existing one, none have work.. I've tried uninstall the synaptics pointing device as well as Synaptics SMBUS driver and restart, problem still there.  I've upgrade BIOS to the latest version, still not working. Disable and Re-enabled both Trackpad and Touchpad in BIOS, still not working. I'm super upset right now. Any suggestion?

Answer:Lenovo X1 Carbon 3rd Gen Trackpad stop working

Hi sarachaib0680, Sorry to hear about your trouble.

Why not have Lenovo fix it under warranty? My experience with depot repair in the USA is good - usually 3 days if the part is in stock. You can remove the SSD before sending.

Otherwise if the TrackPoint is not working, look for a connector cable which is not properly seated.

Hope this helps!

Hello. I have had my Ideapad 300 for several months now and I really love it except for one thing, the trackpad. Due to where my hand and fingers naturally sit, there is a spot on the trackpad that shows a little more wear than the area around it. In this picture ( http://imgur.com/bJovhqL ), you can see that there is an oval shaped region that looks a little different. The problem I am having is that several times a day (up to several times per hour), the trackpad goes nuts.  It doesn'ttrack my finger correctly and performs multi-finger actions even though I'm just using one finger.  It jitters around the screen if I try to use it, and I just have to wait for it to self-correct by staying off of it for up to 30 seconds.  If I look at the trackpad icon on the bottom right of the taskbar while it's messing up, the trackpad is registering multiple fingers. I'll use one finger, and the icon will display 1 finger, 2 fingers, 3 fingers, 1, 2, 1, 3, 4, etc.  Like I said, I just have to wait it out for it to go away.  And on one occasion, I noticed that even if I hovered my finger above the trackpad without actually touching it, it would still register fingers, like it was being super super sensitive or something. I've tried everything reasonable to fix it, tweaking the settings, uninstalling and reinstalling the trackpad, updating the drivers, using the OEM drivers, and nothing works.  It's getting very annoying, and ... Problem: Press power button, turns on and no display. Press power button to turn off then press to turn on, doesn't turn on but power button light is flashing. Plug in the charger and turn the Flex 10 off and on again, still not on. Tapping the keyboard, touchpad hoping something happens, no. Give it a couple more seconds then it turns on. Lenovo loading sign comes up then goes to blue screen saying "collecting data because there was an error then will restart for you", restarts. "There was an error with loading Windows. This time tried choosing option 1 again and the screen starts flickering and Flex 10 turns off. Hi,I just received my Lenovo Flex 20 today and i was very dissapointed to find out that wireless display was not supported. I thought it will be compatible as i checked the Graphics card and processor prior of buying it but unfortunately it doesnt have a compatible wireless card. I really need widi for my job as i want to present everything wirelessly on another compatible WIDI TV . I was wondering whether if i buy The INTEL 7260AC wireless card and upgrade the system if i will be able to use widi. Will the system accept this wireless card? And if yes will i then just be able to install WI-DI software and make it functional? I just wanted to add that i already tried another 2 x card (which i took out from my laptop - A Railink card made in 2010 and from an old HP MINI netbook - A Broadcom card) and they had been accepted by the lenovo flex 20. What are your thoughts then? Will INTEL 7260AC be accepted by Lenovo Flex 20? If yes will this be enough to enable widi after installing appropriate software? Thanks for your kind help!

Answer:LENOVO FLEX 20 WI-DI

Hi BLueArMy, welcome to the forum!

I don't know if you can install a Intel 7260AC wireless card in your Flex, however: if you are running Win 8.1 (update 1) you shouldn't need to upgrade the card. Win 8.1 has the ability to use Miracast, to wirelessly connect to your compatible TV.

I have the Lenovo A520, with a Realtek RTL8188CUS Wireless card, and it connects well with my Belkin SreenCast F7D4501 unit. I bought the Belkin ScreenCast to connect, via WiDi, my Y470 with Win 7. After I received the A520, and updated the  Win 8, to Win 8.1, I noticed that I had the "Connect To Another Wireless Device" in the charm bar Devices display. Just make sure you have the WiDi unit (or the setting in your TV) turned on, and the TV input is selected.

It may take you a little tweaking to get it all set up. IIRC on the first setup, my A520 needed to download some Windows updates during the process. After that, all of the remote display settings are under the Intel HD Graphics manager.

Let us all know how it goes.

Cheers

Replacing is not that easys as with other laptops / tablett, as there are no service doors on the back. You might need to take off the whole back plate with '1000's of screws ;-)( But there is a related service manual around ).ref. to warranty it might depend on local rules, get them a call to verifiy

Hi guys Just bought the Lenovo Yoga 510 and it's amazing but the trackpad feels a bit flimsy. I'ts makes noise when I'm typing. I was wondering if someone had the same experience. Oh and the placement of the arrow up button and the right shift button is a bit unfortunate but I guess I'll get used to that. Cheers!

Touch screen, pen, and usb/bluetooth imputs work fine but the trackpad stops working several seconds after bootup/log in. I've removed and reinstalled the latest lenovo trackpad drivers which fixes the problem for several seconds and then the trackpad/touch pad stop working again. After every restart again they work for a few seconds and then stop. Are there any other possible sollutions?

Answer:Lenovo X230 tablet Thinkpad/trackpad not functioning

welcome to the community!

please check to make sure your trackpad is not disabled in your bios.

for reference, on my t60p, i have the trackpad disabled in bios because i never use it ( trackpoint evangelist here ). regardless, when i'm at the windows 7 login screen, my trackpad is active. as soon as i'm logged in and i've got a windows desktop, the trackpad is inactive. i'm not sure why i have that small window where it works, but there it is, fwiw.

cheers.
