I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hello,

I have a Lenovo Ideapad U330p laptop, and I've tried to replace the wireless network card on this model from the Intel 7260 N to an Intel 7260 AC. But the hell did I get for it, because when I started up the computer, I got an error that caused your computer could not boot.

I have checked this error message on Google search and on some online forums on the internet and it seems that you at Lenovo have added to the list in the BIOS / UEFI called 'white list' that controls the hardware of your computer based on a list where products is the = Approved, and products that are not on the list = Non Approved / Blocked for this model and make that you can not upgrade their computer needed the drivers are the same as the original Intel 7260 N, the only thing that prevents me from Upgrade my computer's 'White List' and should be removed from off the BIOS so that the end user can upgrade their computer without having to buy a new computer for the 700-1100 dollars, when a new network card only cost 25 dollars.

Had I known this before I bought my Lenovo computer, you had never bought a Lenovo PC, but continued with HP that you can upgrade without problems.

I will not buy any new Lenovo computer, as long as you use these methods.

I think it is wrong of you as a manufacturer to do it this way, I jar had HP before and have upgraded them several times without problems, but now I wanted to try a different manufacturer because of design, price, weight, ... Read more

It's been a while since the release of the Y410 and they now have the Santa rosa refresh processors. I was wondering if Lenovo will provide a bios update to be able to enable "Intel VT" support. I am currently using a y410 with T7300, 4GB ram. I believe the chipset and processor supports the use of Intel VT (hardware Virtualization) option. I use my personal laptop to run Virtual PCs. One Major reason for my choice of the y410 is that I use a ThinkCentre 8811 with Intel VT option and had a chance to use a T61p (A month with a Nvidia Quadro. =) ) again with Intel VT enabled. Note: I learned my lesson. Always check the Bios aside from the OS setup. I was pondering an XPS 1330 but ended up with the Y410 as I was able to buy a 19 LCD TV with the saved money. Still wishing a bios upgrade in sight as I don't want to think of it as a bad choice. I saw the XPS 1330 and it had an "Intel VT" option. *SOB* ='/Message Edited by jojo_b2 on 05-05-2008 02:28 AM

Answer:Lenovo 3000 Y410 enable "Intel VT" support in Bios (Hardware Virtualization)

Since no one replied to my post. I just replied to my self. lol! =) Anyway. I found good news. I just flashed my Bios due to a Critical Bios Patch posting on the Lenovo Support site. My Lenovo Y410 was on of the affected systems. After patching, I went back to work on my Virtual Server. I support Sharepoint Servers 2003-2007 and have scaled down copies on my laptop. For some unknown reason, I can now enable the "Enable Hardware Assisted Virtualization" check box on the Virtual PC 2007. Eureka! In my excitement I tried looking at the bios by restarting my PC. But in amazement there was no change on the BIOS GUI. everything was the same no option was there to enable Intel VT. I then went back to windows and checked my VPC and the check box was still there and still modifieable. I don't know who to thank be this might only be a glitch on the patch. But, Thank you! I am proud to say I can now fully utilize my laptop for Play and WORK! As I use VPCs any performance gain is a real bonus for me. =) Note:I am using a Lenovo Y410 with Model 7757-35A: Intel T7300, 4GB, 160 GB, Nvidia 8400M GS. I am not sure if Intel VT will be enabled on other Y410 models. I guess only Lenovo can answer this one. But if this is the case for the Y410 with T8300 processors and Nvidia 8600M VC. This would be another good reason to buy these systems. =) **Intel VT is only available for some T2xxx, and T7xxx series processors and above (e.g. T2300, T710... Read more

Hello, recently the wireless symbol in the taskbar disappeared from time to time and connection via WiFi was not possible but connection via LAN cable was possible.I checked the network and internet settings and a WiFi-adapter was not listed anymore.I checked the device manager of my Lenovo Yoga 2 Pro but the "Intel (R) Wireless-N 7260" device disappeared.Only when I choosed "Show faded out devices" I saw the "Intel (R) Wireless-N 7260" device. When I choose Properties from "Intel (R) Wireless-N 7260" this message appears:  "This device is not connected to the computer (Code 45)".Some times when this problem occured I could bring the device to work by a hard reset. It also happened a few times that the laptop did not boot and a hard reset solved the problem of not booting and the not connected wireless module. Now the device is gone again but a hard reset does not solve the problem anymore. What's remarkable is that often before the problem occured I could surf the web intensively via WiFi then I closed the laptop cover (Hibernation mode is set) but when I waked it up again WiFi was gone. The newest Intel driver for the device has been installed after an OS upgrade from Windows 8.1 to Windows 10. Also all other device drivers are up to date (checked via "Driver Booster 5"). From time to time there also was an automatic shut down by Windows.  Today I checked the Windows event viewer after this hapened:  An error occured for the Miniport "Intel(... I just moved the recovery partition from the 11GB partition of the 128GB SSD of my Yoga Pro 2 to an external USB drive and deleted that partition from the Yoga Pro 2.  I don't know if this is what is causing the issue. But now when I run OneKey Recovery from the desktop enviroment, and then try to do a system backup, I get the message "current system can not support back up" . I have an external USB drive with more room that the current C: drive takes up.  The c: drive has about 100G of space and has about 57G free.  Plus the external USB has about 61GB free. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Answer:Yoga Pro 2 OneKey Recovery - Current system can not support back up

I have this issue but slightly differently; I did not resize or even touch the partitions on my lenovo yoga 2 pro, I only upgraded to win8.1 pro (so I could join a domain) and I believe that might be causing the error. I honeslty doubt Lenovo will do anything about it aside from offering to restore the SSD/HDD to factory... Quite disapointed I cant use the software... Any idea of third party app that could work in a similar way?

Okay, so I got the laptop from my aunt and she gave it to me broken, not booting up. So I wanna upgrade/downgrade the BIOS and probably will help with the issue. It booted yesterday, but it didn't today. I followed the instructions in this document at Recovering the notebook BIOS using an external device. I currently have a blank non-bootable USB, and whenever I extract the BIOS there, I get "Error IHIS! not support current BIOS" followed with "BIOS did not support InsydeFlash"  May anyone please help me to finally fix this devil. Any help would be appreciated.    And yes, It is on Windows 10 Pro 32 bit. I did a fresh clean install of it yesterday.

I have a Lenovo 3000 Desktop J115 7387-26u and the current BIOS, just downloaded and tested from Lenovo's "support" site, doesn't support 4gb of RAM properly.  I have dual 2gb DIMMs, for a total of 4gb, and both Lenovo's PC-Doctor diagnostics and another memory scanner report to me that I have 4gb.  See this screen print showing PC-Doctor's RAM report compared to what Windows "sees".   When I boot the system, the BIOS only reports 3006mb RAM is present.  Clearly it's recognizing both DIMMs.  I've swapped the DIMMs and the results are the same. Lenovo, PLEASE RELEASE A BIOS that properly supports what the system claims to support!Message Edited by GeoApps on 04-06-2009 03:00 PM

My Lenovo Yoga 900 has a cracked screen. I called Lenovo and the rep that I talked to told me they don't do repairs and told me to take it back to Best Buy or to another computer repair tech to have it repaired.   Best Buy said they couldn't replace the glass and neither could the tech that I took it to. This seems absurd.  Why would anyone pay over $1200 dollars for a laptop that can't be repaired if needed?  I'm at a loss, I don't know what to do and I want it fixed.  Does anyone have any suggestions? I just find it very hard to believe that Lenovo won't repair their own merchandise.

Answer:Can't get support for Lenovo 900 yoga

Who did you call?  If you have a nearby Lenovo Premier dealer near you, you might carry it in.  It certainly can be replaced.  (It might be expensive.) The manual indicates that the entire assembly (hinges, lid, etc.) are replaced as a unit, but I'm sure it can be taken apart, but I I have never done so I cannot describe it.  I have done similar models and they took less than 1/2 hour.  My guess is that it simply snaps together, but as I said, I haven't done it so I don't really know.

Purchased a brand new ThinkPad Yoga 14 Ultrabook, I have it one week.  I called Lenovo for support on the pen and touch screen driver and they want $70 before they will help.  Reps said that this issues has been resollved but that  I need to pay ANOTHER $70, on a machine that just came out of the box, if I want to know what it is. Disappointed to say the least!  If there's a Lenovo rep that wants to make this better, I'd appreciate it.

Hi, I bought my Lenovo Yoga 11e from Amazon. The specs of this laptop is 2016 model, 128GB SSD, 4GB RAM, Windows 10 64bit. I recently ran the Samsung Magician software and also Crystaldisk info software. It showed that the SSD is only running at 1.5Gbps though it is capable of SATA 2. The reason I did this benchmark on the laptop was because I frequently heard some noise from the speaker when steaming a youtube video. There seems to be some bottleneck with disk IO or maybe CPU. Memory is definitely sufficient for 4GB. Anyone has information how to upgrade to the SATA 2 interface would be greatly appreciated. I checked device manager that I am running the standard ACHI interface which I suppose comes with windows 10. Thank you!

Gateway said in the end buy a new board! I really would just like to keep this one if possible. I just got it, upgraded form a 423 pin board to 478 just to keep my RDRAM.

Any help would be great! Can it be forced flashed in? Or would that be bad as well?

Or do I have to just eat it, and use the highest CPU I can find without HT?

Here Is a everest Bios report. I assume that the P21 bios I need would work maybe but only if the board was not put together by Gateway. Or can I find a suitable Ami bios Update? I tried the AMI tools and it said no luck contact gateway! So I am lost! Or am I just out of luck?

Well I just had a wasted 40 minute phone call with Lenovo support.. When I flip my yoga between modes (tablet, stand, laptop) or generally move it around the fan rattles. Recently it has begun to rattle when just sat still on my lap. It's extremely annoying as one of the reasons for buying a cool running Haswell based laptop was for it to be quiet! Also, being as loose as it is it will likely give up completely in the near future. I spoke to the danish support centre and after a long wait I was told it wasn't an issue with the hardware (really? Is this some new fangled software fan?) then I was told it wasn't an issue because I couldn't see it (well no the laptop case is solid metal/plastic with a small vent at the back.. how am I supposed to see it?) but I could book it in anyway and send it away but this would take at least 3 weeks and - and this is the best bit - it probably wouldn't be fixed anyway! Oh lovely. All they would have to do is take it apart and replace the fan..

My Yoga 13 does not run very well on Win 8.1. The response time is laggy, I've had a few hard freezes, and it is overall not as fluid and nice as it was on Windows 8. Looking at the official product pages for the Yoga and the new Yoga 2 Pro, something very unsettling appeared: no Windows 8.1 support! http://shop.lenovo.com/us/en/laptops/ideapad/yoga/#compare Is lenovo seriously not going to support the Yoga 11 and Yoga 13 with Windows 8.1?

Answer:Yoga 13 - No Official Windows 8.1 Support from Lenovo

I had the same experience after updating to 8.1. So I tried several different things including a clean install of 8.1 with the same experience. I restored back to 8.0 and won't even think of 8.1 until I see some sort of support from Lenovo.

Hey there.I got a Lenovo laptop with the above mentioned processor. This processor supports VT-D according to Intel: http://ark.intel.com/products/71670/Intel-Core-i7-3632QM-Processor-6M-Cache-up-to-3_20-GHz-BGAI'm running a V-sphere lab on my laptop and I've got into a huge problem. My v-sphere says that my host doesnt have "Directed I/O (device passthrough)" enabled, which means VT-D is not enabled. My bios version is 1.21 (latest i guess). There is no such option in the bios to enable, which is frustrating because in other computers it is built in their bios. what are my options? how can i force my laptop to enable it? Thank you, best regards!

I purchased a IdeaCentre 710-25ISH model 90FB0001US from a Bestbuy in store on Jan. '17. I took note of what was installed before looking for the RAM I want and fond two sticks of Ramaxel Technology 4GB DDR4-2400 part# RMUA5120MB86H9F-2400 and was in fact running in daul channel mode of 1200Mhz each as that what Piriform's Speccy showed me of which I have a screenshot below.I didn't want wait to upgrade the RAM so two weeks later I purchased a four stick kit of G.SKILL Value 16GB (4 x 4GB) 288-Pin DDR4 SDRAM DDR4 2400 (PC4 19200) Desktop Memory Model F4-2400C15Q-16GNT from Newegg. After installing the RAM I found them running in the standard 2133Mhz, than went on to learned a lot about XMP, that I would need to enable XMP in the BIOS, I checked this machine motherboard's Basic Input/Output System (BIOS) and don't see anything about XMP. So as the subject title states "Does Lenovo support Intel's Extreme Memory Profile (XMP)?" how do I enable it and if not how's it possible this machine had from the factory (manufactured Nov. '16) enable XMP to have the thier RAM running at 2400Mhz? Also, who is Ramaxel Technology?

I bought TPS230U in may2013, and one monthe ago, the laptop just turned off by itself and wont turn on anymore. I had tried troubleshoop refresh and resetting options but it doesnt work.
My warranty certificate is still valid for itnernational support (now I live in  Brazil), so that, I called Brazil´s support (My laptop ID is: Type 3347 2GU S/N xxxxxxx 13/02.
At the first time I contacted by phone, the attendant asked me to (once again) turn off the laptop  and call back again. Well, I did it, adn (of course) it didnt work. So I called once again. The second the new clerk said I should buy a cd or dvd ( which could not be via USB stick ) , download from other computer and copy  an image file  that lenovo would understand the problem . I explained that I had not cd to record that moment. But he was very rude, and told me that it the  support goes to my house and concludes that there is a software problem and not hardwa, I was supposed to pay for the visit. So, I went to a store and bought a recordable CD , recorded the ISO file and got home to insert it into the laptop and....for my surprise,  my laptop doenst have any  entry for CD ! I feel that lenovo has been really disrespectfull with me and all I want is to have a simple support to my laptop, but I still couldnt have. Pleaase let me know how can I solve this problem before my waranty term expires!!!

Hi forum, I have purchased the new Yoga 900 BE (business edition) which supposedly adds TPM and Lenovo Active Pen support. I had that confirmed 4 times by 4 different Lenovo online sales support people before placing the order. Now I have the Yoga, and the active pen - and it does not work. No information on drivers, or firmware updates is available anywhere. What should I do to make the pen work? thx in advance Peter

I'm going to post to the forum, twitter and facebook in addition to my recent phone conversation in the hope that one avenue results in a response from somebody other than a minimum wage customer service agent. You have some serious improvement to do with your customer experience around the yoga line. December 2012: Bought my first Yoga 13. Had issues with wifi (which I thought were unique to me).Late December 2012: Returned to store and got a replacement model which had more issues (HDD kept disconnecting)January 2013: Returned to store and upgraded to the core i7 model (hoping new model would have improved build).Mid January 2013: Screw fell out of the bottom of the laptop! Returned to Lenovo for service. Received back almost 2 weeks later. Keyboard not secured well after service but liveable.Late August 2013: Power died completely on laptop. Returned to Lenovo for service.Mid September 2013: Laptop returned over 2 weeks later with new motherboard.Today: Noticed that tech didn't verify the spec on my laptop and replaced the core i7 CPU and 8gb ram with the base core i5/4Gb model. Called support and I have to send it back to Lenovo for the same slow repair process. Please respond asap with somebody who can offer me something a little more impressive than a free FedEx mailing label! Honestly, how difficult is it to have a QC person review the key components of the laptop (CPU, Memory, SSD) to make sure that the correct components go inside the ma... so our yoga 2 13 crashed - due to a bad hard drive.  in looking at the pages and pages of entries on this forum regarding hard drive failures in these machines i find it incredible that Lenovo doesnt do something.  When i called, i was told - too bad, you are out of warranty we wont do anything for you.  My response is that I will never again buy a lenovo product and will go back to Dell - i have Dell laptops that are 11 years old and still running, unlike my just out of warranty $1000 Yoga laptop.  such garbage they put out.

Hello !

Can you tell when Toshiba will release a BIOS Update to support the new intel core 2 duo mobile cpu.
The actual BIOS 1.4 does not recognize the new cpu type.

As Toshiba delivers a core 2 duo based qosmio in USA G35-650 a bios should be availble.

For sure I now that this makes the gurantee go away.

Please help.

Answer:Qosmio G30-189 BIOS Update to support Intel Core 2 Duo ( MEROM )

Hi Marcus

I think that nobody know when new BIOS update will be available. You can only check from time to time BIOS download page. That?s all.

The situation on US market is not known to me but you can not compare it with EU market. There is big difference and you know that US market is always in front of our EU market.

Hello, I had the unfortunate experience that my new L540 with factory installed Windows 7 64 bit professional dropped wireless connections after several minutes. This could only be correct be restarting the wireless driver. It took me about 5 hours to discover that the driver contains a known bug. I was almost at the point of returning the laptop as being defect until I found through google: http://support.lenovo.com/en_US/downloads/detail.page?DocID=DS036007 hidden on this page is the text  that the driver version there fixes the dropping of connection. None of the update software on the laptop suggested updating this driver and the above page is not so easy to find, or recognize that this is needed at first glance. After applying the above update the WLAN now works without problems. Googling reveals that I do not seem to be the only person with this problem, and the ones I found did not manage to find the solution to their problems. Rene.

Answer:Lenovo L540 20AV002YGE delivered with too old intel Intel(R) Wireless-N 7260 driver

I had this same issue right out of the box.  After fighting the dropping wifi connection for 5 days I rent to Intel's site and downloaded the driver inspection tool from http://www.intel.com/p/en_US/support/detect/wireless and let it do its magic.  It downloaded and installed the new driver.  Going on day 2 with the new driver with no problems at all.

So I am sitting here on my MacBook Pro which in my opinion does not have any wireless issues whatsoever, it works. I still own this ThinkPad with a garbage wireless card, and I feasted my eyes on an Intel 7260 but lo and behold, it isn't on the whitelist! Scouring eBay and Amazon I did find a FRU, but would the number of that FRU be the same on the Hardware list? Lets see, well I cannot even find it. All I get are Page Not Found errors which to me is a hilarious joke of Lenovo's support. What does this mean for me? Is my X230 at a very very unnecessary end of life? Should I like, fork out £1400 for an "upgraded" model that probably won't fix most of my problems? My problems is money and saving money. Should i now look elsewhere? No, because I'd rather keep my money to actually FIX my current laptop's problems (the N2200 is a garbage card and would like to replace it with something that's up to date to todays technology but that isn't happening by the sounds of it) I am frustrated with my current laptop's problems and it's having a large effect on my studies. And possibly you can also lose customers by inadequate non-existent support and failure to give us the freedom to actually let us upgrade for those who do. For those who don't, more like.

I?ve got my Lenovo IdeaPad Yoga 13 in Russia with Windows 8 Single Language Edition on it.I?ve set up three keyboard layouts, those are German, Russian and English. Both the on-screen keyboard and handwriting recognition work for English and Russian. However, with German I don?t have the handwriting recognition as an option. How could I activate it or install it? Should I buy Windows 8 Pro Pack for it or does this restriction have to do with something else?If it?s all about the Windows SL license I would rather prefer to have the recognition of German handwriting instead of English.

Answer:Language support for the recognition of handwriting on Lenovo IdeaPad Yoga 13

Hi eugrus,

Welcome to Lenovo Community Forums!

You may need to add a German language pack and then you will see the Language settings to personalize handwriting recognition. Language packs are available for computers that are running Windows 8. The language packs are installed from the language control panel on the Yoga 13. Follow the steps in the link below:

How to install the Language pack.

Note: If you are facing issues with Windows SL license to download the Language pack in Windows 8, you may need to get Windows 8 Pro, you may also follow the steps to choose your required language in the ?Handwriting Option?:

Please hold the (Windows key + C) to go to the Charms bar.
On the Charms bar please click on Search.
Please select Settings under Search option and type ?Language?.
Now please click on ?Language? and click on ?Input method and Handwriting"
You can add your required language now.
You can personalize the Handwriting option by clicking on ?Personalize hand writing recognition?.

Hope this Helps.

Do post us back if the issue still persists.

Best Regards

Shiva Kumar

The are problems with Intel SSD 530 and ThinkPad W520. Many people, including me, are complaining about startup problems ... see this thread also: https://communities.intel.com/thread/44258One month ago I bought an Intel SSD 530 240GB to replace the stock HDD of my ThinkPad W520 (4270CTO). When I cold-start the laptop everything is fine, but when I restart it from Windows 7 or even CTRL-ALT-DEL, the drive is not found. Both SSD and W520 has the latest firmware/BIOS.I had no problems with Intel SSD 335 240GB; Windows starts and restart without problem, but with the Intel 530 it fails when I do restart, the BIOS does not find it after a normal reset. I think BIOS implementation for W520 does not support the newer ATA feature called "Device Initiated Power Management (DIPM) for Software Setting Preservation (SSP)". There is a BIOS update for W530 but not for W520.Should I assume Intel SSD 530 is and will remain incompatible with ThinkPad W520 or wait for a BIOS update?

Answer:Intel SSD 530 startup problems on ThinkPad W520 - Bug in SSD or lack of BIOS support?

I am also seeing the exact same issue. I have a ThinkPad W520 and a Corsair Force GS using a Sandforce 2200 series controller. According to the Intel SSD thread, there is some incompatibility between that controller and Intel QM77-chips which is causing the issue. The symptoms for my laptop are the same. SSD is always recognized on cold boot, but effectively never on warm boot / restart. Will we get a BIOS update that fixes this? I have dual boot configuration with both windows 8 and windows 7. The issue is happening regardless of what OS I issue the restart from.

Back in August of 2013 I ordered a Y510p with the SLI 750M configuration (see signature for detailed specs). It originally came with Windows 8 as well. It came with the famously terrible Centrino N 2230. From day one it was shotty and on the 2nd day of ownership completely stopped working until I installed 2 drivers and the annoying Intel PRO-Set Wireless utility from their site (no patch available directly from Lenovo). Now that its been a year and I've upgraded to Windows 8.1 its being problematic once again as usual. My issues:Connection randomly dropping, but usually picks back up in a few seconds. Answer:Lenovo Y510p upgrade to newer Intel 7260 2x2 (BGN) Wireless Card from Intel Centrino N 2230

I just posted a response on the other Lenovo y510p Intel 7260AC forum.  In a nutshell, I bought a Lenovo part: fru 04W3814, which is a Lenovo Intel 7260AC + Bluetooth 4.0.  Lenovo initally said they would support it, and have a hardware support case number.  They told me that they would support it.  I had not heard back.  I called and was given the "we don't support upgrades" answer, although it was their own part, and they acknowledged problems with the Intel 2230 card.

What I learned, is that I was not talking to Lenovo, but a third party company who would not let me contact Lenovo directly.

Hi all , I have a Lenovo T410s for over 10 months plus. Inside is a Intel X18 G2 80GB SSD, model number is SSDSA1M080G2LE, firmware version 2CV102J6. Recently I 'feel' that it is getting slower plus some unexplained BSOD and restart so I was going to reformat the SSD and install Window 7 Pro 64bit. I googled and read most of the forum post I can find on TRIM features. It seem like we need to upgrade the firmware using Intel software. But there were several report that even if I set the T410s BIOS - AHCI mode to compatible before running the firmware upgrade, it would still fail. Have anyone done the firmware upgrade succesfully and let window 7 perform the TRIM natively? Is it wise to do so without the blessing of proper lenovo driver/firmware updates? If this is not possible or wise, then I guess i would have to run the Intel SSD Toolbox - Optimizer daily to do the Trim manually. Would love to hear any feedbacks. Thank you

Answer:Is it wise to update the firmware on Lenovo T410s Intel X18 G2 to support TRIM?

Most of time, it is better to upgrade your firmware. I would recommend you to upgrade it and see how it does.

Hello Community! I have a question about CPU upgrade. So, I have a Lenovo G510 with i7 4700MQ. I wanna upgrade it to i7 4800MQ, since I need the VT-d support. As far as the sources I've found are saying, both processors are similar since they have the same socket type (G3), so theoretically it would work. The question would be: if I were to upgrade this processor, would the BIOS automatically recognize the new i7 4800MQ? Or should I first flash the BIOS. My question is regarding the fact that the current BIOS offers no options whatsoever to enable VT-d, whereas other BIOS systems have the option.  Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!

So, my husband bought me a Lenovo Yoga Book last year for Christmas. I like it. I think it's cool to be able to draw on the paper (which is what I do traditionally) and have it show up digitized on the screen. I was able to do a couple of cool projects sketches on it, but I haven't used it to it's full potential I believe, so I put it down for a while. Then, I started to research different drawing apps, seeing all the amazing artwork that people were creating in these different apps and stuff, and it got me excited about going back to drawing on my Yoga Book. So, I went to try to draw in ArtRage, and when I would try to draw on the Wacom tablet with my pen, nothing would show up. However, when I would draw on the screen with my finger, everything showed just fine. I tried to update it several times, I tried starting it over, I tried using a different drawing app; NOTHING. The only time the pen would work on the Wacom Tablet is in Notesaver. Even if I had ArtRage open, anything that I try to write on the tablet will only come up in Notesaver. I wasn't trying to just factory reset it right off so I called technical support to see if there was anything that they would be able to do to fix it without me having to factory reset it.So, I called tech support and they told me that I would have to pay a fee of $40 to be escalated to their software support. So I paid the $40, and within 3 MINUTES  of speaking to me, the tech tells me to just factory reset it. I was LIVID. Like, th... Read more

I am using a Lenovo Ideapad yoga 13 ultra book laptop. The laptop costs around 1 lac INR. I had absolutely no issues with laptop.  It was working fine, till in the month of Feb 2015, the touch screen of the laptop got damaged accidently.  I have followed up with at least a dozen Lenovo authorized service centers and all of them have put me down with saying we are not able to resolve the issue.  It?s now six months since I have been using the laptop with the cracked touch screen. I had directly interacted with Lenovo, but all in vain. It is saddening to experience that in spite of buying a high end laptop, the service and support provided by Lenovo is far below acceptable. Henceforth, I won?t be recommending any Dell products to anyone. Very Very Very cold response?????..

I have a Dell 8700 (Intel Z87 chipset) I recently purchased an Intel 600p SSD (M2) along w/ a PCI to M2 adapter.
While the SSD drive was recognized by Windows (10), it was not recognized by the BIOS.  My system is configured for legacy boot, and from what I've read a boot to a PCI SSD would only be supported by UFEI.  I'd be willing to reinstall Windows and change my boot mode, but, from all that I've read the current BIOS A11 on the Z87 w/ UFEI still would not support a boot to a PCI SSD.
Any chance there will be a BIOS update in the future, or would I need to go to a SATA SSD?
Thanks,
- martin

Once upon a time there was a promising concept.... The early Yoga 2 13 was equipped with bad performing single band WLAN cards:Realtek RTL8723BEIntel 7260NNot able to make a wireless connection with certain routers, dropping connections, bad N implementation and lack of support of Lenovo: the most recent Realtek drivers on their support website are dated January 2014 ... Owners have tried to replace their cards by different types of the dual band Intel 7260AC.  Without any success. Especially the most right one in the picture ... The white list in the BIOS of the Yoga 2 13  is prohibiting all of these cards. Also the after market cards that proved to work in the Yoga2Pro ... For us early adaptors of the Yoga 2 13  remain only 3 options:Hack the BIOS and make the Yoga accept any WLAN cardWait for Lenovo to make the replacement 7260AC card and BIOS available to usSell the Yoga concept and buy a working product  ... So owners of a 2 13 with a working AC card: be lucky and enjoy your wireless. But also open your back cover and take a high quality picture of your rare Lenovo Intel 7260AC.Maybe remove the lenovo sticker, if present. So we can learn the ID's printed on it and find a solution for us.Sadly enough Lenovo Service people themselves don't want or are not able to share this information with us ...  The only working 7260AC card this far is OEM installed in t... I have a Yoga 2 (or so I think - product ID 20CD000MMD) with an AC-7260 wireless adapter. Every time I restart the machine, the wireless adapter is in an error state and I have to disable and enable it to get wireless connectivity (this is ALWAYS successful). If I only hibernate the machine, all is well, it is only after a full restart of Windows that the issue occurs. Windows 8.1 / 64 / ensures me that my drivers are all up to date. The problem has been there ever since I opened the box for the first time. Does anyone have any suggestions for where to go from here? Thanks in advance, Morten

Answer:Intel Wireless AC-7260 fails after every restart of Yoga 2

First go to Intel's website and download the right drivers for you wireless adapter, these are not up to date, no matter what Windows is telling you.And if I remember corecctly there is two different exe files one for 32 the other for 64 versionClick the file you just downloaded, and it should install the latest drivers. You should Update the bluetooth wheile your at it. The blutooth seem to conflict with the wireless adaptor, so you should also try to disable it under pc setting

Last year I had this ask dr. tech I can't quite remember the exact name and they were $100 a year for 3 computers. Well they just made their price $150 a year. I am trying to find less than a 100 bucks/year, but I can't seem to find a place. They were really helpful because they did everything from Microsoft Word to removing viruses. They were only chat service unless it was an emergency. Is there a 24/7 tech support that covers all those that I just don't know about. I was going to get geek squad tech support but, they seem to just be very basic tech stuff like installation and mainly removing viruses. I am not sure that is worth 100 dollars a year, though. So if anyone knows of such a service I would greatly appreciate it. I have to say that this message board has been ENORMOUSLY helpful and I wish it had a chat or something, so you could talk in real time:-)

Hello dear Lenovo community, I replaced an APU on Lenovo s206 to AMD E2-2000 (EM2000GBB22GV) and my laptop starts but the processor is being detcted as "AMD Processor Model Unknown". I tried to update AGESA code myself but had no luck. As I researched, there are no mentions of "E2-2" in native s206's AGESA code and it seems Lenovo s206 is using Brazos 1.0 AGESA code on Brazos 2.0 platforms(!/?). It could be very good if lenovo could release at least BETA BIOS for Lenovo s206 with updated AGESA code to support latest Brazos 2.0 APU's.

My Corsair Vengeance CMSX8GX3M2A1866C10  does not work properly with T530, every 10 minutes my notebook hangs and restarts. Whats the problem to fix it in new BIOS ?

Answer:Does Lenovo think to make a new BIOS to T530 with support DDR3-1866 (933 Mhz) CL 9-9-9-27

Hi, vek007

What is the full machine type model of your T530? This can be found on the bottom of the machine and should be seven characters in the format XXXX-XXX. Also, what operating system are you currently using? Finally, are there any errors or signs that the computer is about to hang, or does it just occur with no warning at all?

Thanks in advance, Adam

I have a Thinkpad Yoga running Windows 10 pro (upgraded in July 2015).  Last week I was unable to connect to the internet wirelessly and now my laptop shows that no wifi connections are available.  When I open Device Manager, the AC 7260 does not appear under Network adapters (only Bluetooth Device (Personal Area Network) and Bluetooth Device (RFCOMM Protocol TDI) appear), unless I show hidden devices.  When I do, Microsoft Kernel Debug Network Adapter and Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 7260 appear, but the latter is "grayed" out.  Properties indicates the following under Device status:  "Currently, this hardware device in not connected to the computer (Code 45).  To fix this problem, reconnect the hardware device to the computer."  The AC 7260 came installed on my laptop and I have not done anything to physically to remove or install the device.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled the device and updated the drivers with drivers on Intel's web site and on Lenovo's website.  When I used the drivers on Intet's web site, the device did not appear in Device Manager when I checked show hidden devices and I lost all bluetooth connection in Device Manager.  The Lenovo drivers brought back my bluetooth devices and the net work card in hidden devices.  The current drafts installed for hte device are provided by Intel , file version 17.15.0.5 (downloaded from Lenovo).

Any thoughts or solutions would be greatly appreciated.

Hi, Yesterday I apparently made a very costly error! On reading the changes associated with BIOS 1.21 for the x220 (improved system performance and boot time) I clicked yes and installed the update through System Update. After auto-rebooting to complete the flash, the system hung on shutdown for more than 5 minutes. Two hard resets later (to escape the same problem) and a standby request (Fn+F4) triggered the first blue screen I have seen on this machine. Since then, the laptop will not boot. The power light/thinklight turn on, as well as the speaker mute and mic mute buttons, but nothing else happens except the quiet whirr of the cooling fan. The screen has remained black ever since, as has my mood. Removing the RAM and SSD gave some beeps, but otherwise nada. Today I called the Lenovo support in Japan and had no problem finding out, to my horror, that Lenovo wants more than 50% of the laptop cost to replace the motherboard. They said that this repair is in the same category as a water damage repair and that they will not cover it under warranty. I am saddened by this since I clicked on an update recommended by Lenovo through Lenovo's System Update software, I did not carelessly tip coffee into the machine. At no point did I see a warning saying that a failed BIOS update is not covered by the warranty, nor can I find this in the US warranty terms. Perhaps things are different here in Japan? Any advice, suggestions, or even commiserations, w... Read more

Answer:Lenovo Y50-70 Intel Dual Band Ac-7260

hi LumLamaxhema

Welcome to the Forums.

Can you try these steps:
1. Set the Y50-70's power plan to High Performance
2. Temporarily disable Bluetooth in the Device manager.
    - Sample image
3. Uncheck the Allow this computer to turn off this device to save power setting in the  Wi-Fi card's properties
   - Sample image

4. Disable U-ASPD (Wi-Fi power saving mode) and set the roaming aggresiveness to lowest.
   - Sample image
   - Sample image

5. If you're connected in the 5Ghz band and you have obstructions between your room and the Wi-Fi Access Point, try setting the router to broadcast both 2.4Ghz - 802.11n and 5Ghz 802.11AC and switch to the 2.4Ghz band and observe.

6. Check this thread for more tips.

After doing the above steps, open a command prompt and try to do a continuous ping to a site (e.g., google) and observe if the signal still drops.

Let me know how it goes.

I have a Lenovo Yoga Pro and have been using the wireless with no problems.

This evening I was on my computer and watching a video.  Then suddenly I had no connection.

I went to log on again, and found that the Wireless Connections showed as "Unavailable".  Now I know there is a connection since I am currently on it on another computer.

Using the Troubleshoot an error was found:  "The Intel(R) Wireless-N 7250 adapter is experiencing driver or hardware related problems.  And the system could not fix it.

I checked the wireless status using Network -- Airplane Mode.  Airplane mode is OFF.  Wireless Devices shows only Bluetooth which is ON.  Shouldn't WiFi show here???

I need help to get back on the internet.

Can anyone suggest what to do?

I bought a bare bones pc (no hard drive, no dvd, no os) originally was a FX 4300 cpu that was rated at 4 GHz but it was 3.8 so I returned it. They upgraded it free to a FX 4350 rated at 4.2 GHz but it is only running at 2.81 GHz now. Have sent them this boot message I get ever time it boots " The current system does not support the cpu. If you wish to continue, the cpu will be underclocked to maintain system stability " and have asked what they can do to fix it. First time after they installed the FX 4350 they said I needed to a do clean install of a 64 bit windows and it would correct the problem so I formatted a 500 Gig drive and did a new install of windows 10 pro. The new drive still says it will be underclocked and runs at 2.81 still. I should be able to expect what I payed for but now they want me to send it back and pay them for a new windows they will install for more money. The manual was worthless on the upgrade issue, as was HP. I got one of these computers because the owner was unsatisfied with the performance. The main problem was the very slow 1TB mechanincal hard drive. I found some post online that said the M.2 slot was M.2 NVME so I took the computer apart (two screws, many turns, on the bottom edge under rubber plugs) and verified the connector.  I then purchased and installed an 500GB M.2 NVME Samsung 950 EVO into the 4 lane PCIe M.2 internal slot and had some problems getting my Acronis 2015 image onto the new drive, and the drive did need a hold down screw that I finally found in my box of screws, but still don't know the size or TPI of the screw. I finally used the Samsung Magician software to clone the drive and it worked perfectly and quickly. This is an incredible drive and works beautifully on this computer. It is extremely fast, even with only 8GB of ram. It takes 7 seconds to boot and only six minutes to make an Acronis 2015 image of the entire system (only 50GB). Acronis told me to use the PE version of the bootable media to solve the problem of restoring the image, but I have not tried that yet. The 1TB internal slow mechanical SATA drive is just sitting there disconnected, someday I will use it somewhere. Anyway, I love the system. The NVME Samsung drive is better than any SSD I have currently tried, and I've installed quite a few as upgrades. No more mechanical drives for me, or even standard SSDs. If you have problem... @Insulyn Excellent write up!   BTW--I have eight (8) 2.5" hard drives sitting on the shelf for the same reason that you have stated. My newest PC build doesn't have any mechanical hard drives. Check out my signature information.
