Preferred Solution: G570 - Is Samsung 850 EVO SSD compatible with my Lenono G570?

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Answer: G570 - Is Samsung 850 EVO SSD compatible with my Lenono G570?

Hi mimoose,

Welcome to Lenovo Community Forums!

This should work fine, The Evo fits exactly to the HDD bay.
The Original HDD might have braketing that you need to remove and move it to the Evo so it would just slide in the bay.

You can refer to this MAintenance Manual on how to get to the drive bay.

After upgrading to Windows 10 last year, I have had numerous problems with my computer, and am now wondering if the G570 is not compatible with Windows 10.  My computer now does not allow updates from Microsoft, nor does File History work any longer.  I loved Windows 8.1, but I have read that it is too late to go back to it now.  Does anyone have a solution?Betty

Answer:G570 Laptop - Is it not compatible with Windows 10????

Hi BettyK,

Welcome to the Community Forums.

G570 is not included among the listed machines tested for Windows 10 so drivers intended for the laptop may not work as expected with them.

You can however try using the factory reset recovery once you backed up your files back to the original image by turning off the machine and pressing the One Key Rescue button next to the power to turn on.

Novo menu would offer system recovery OKR (chapter 3) from initial backup to restore it back as long as the partition is still intact and no changes has been made.

Hope this helps answer your query.
Update us how it goes best for you.

I would like to upgrade my Qualcomm Atheros AR9285 Wireless Network Adapter that originally came with the machine to one that is dual band and supports bluetooth B/G/N. However, it looks like the BIOS has some sort of whitelist of network adapters that it supports.  Can anyone provide details on the adapters on this whitelist or compatible adapters that meet my requirements?

Hi vintagej,

Welcome to Lenovo Community Forums!

Im afraid that the list on for this specific model is short.
FRU Part Number      Part detail
20200016                  TP LTN REALTEK E B/G/N 1X1 WLAN
20002515                  CBT RT3090 MOW M PCIE NB HMC WLAN
20002357                  LITEON AR9285 HB95 BGN MOW NB WLAN
20002505                  CBT BCM4313 MOW M PCIE NB HMC WLAN

This list is based on part replacements for this model.
If you would want a higher performance Wifi Device.
I would suggest a USB dongle one, There device out there that's so small it is almost seemless.

Hope this helps

Hi to all...I've lenovo g560 laptop whose keyboard is not working properly. Now, a replacement laptop keyboard for lenovo g570 is available at local market. So, will it be compatible with my lenovo g560..Thanks in advance

Answer:Is lenovo g570 laptop keyboard compatible with lenovo g560's keyboard

hi hamzaali52,

Welcome to the Forums.

Looking at the keyboard part numbers for the G560 (see page 79-80 of the HMM) and the G570 (see page 79-83 of the HMM), there are no matching part numbers between the two models, thus, the keyboard may fit but it may not work due to a whitelist of compatible parts or due to a different keyboard ribbon/cable layout.

I recommend you stick to the part numbers listed on the HMM (Hardware Maintenance Manual) for best compatibility.

My DVD player isn't showing up.  Looked for a driver and can't find one on Lenovo's website.

Answer:G570 DVD

Hi broncojack, Open control center, goto Device manager launch the program & it will list all hardware installed on your laptop, If you see a ! or ? next to any device right click on it then select open in the dropdown menu, Here you will see a list of tabs at the top, Click the driver tab to open it, This will notify you if drivers are missing or installed but not working, You will also see options to Install driver or update driver, Try both options. Hopefully drivers will be installed & your device will be up & running again. Hope that helps! Catt

Question: G570 AND WIN 8

Guys,am NOT an expert, plzz help me! I did a clean install win 8 pro 9200 build. now I have following problems and questions: 1. I bought my laptop in August 2011. I used win 7 so far, till last week. Never updated BIOS! Now, should I update BIOS for better integration on Win 8? 2. the card reader sucks! It did the same on win 7. After upgrade, it continues. Do you think there is hardware issu? I installed latest card reader driver for win 8 "rtcr02083264.exe"; Rebooted after install... prob is still there.. Whenever I insert a SDHC first it prompts to format the card (screenshot)    or if I eject and retry, it says    It does not detect the card..The same card works flawlessly on all other systems.. PLEASE HELP!! 3. fn F5 key combination is not working!! Although Fn F2 and a few others are doing okay!  thanks in advance.. ^(^

Answer:G570 AND WIN 8

YES. Get yourself to the latest BIOS, check for missing updates (Lenovo and MS), then check for missing drivers in Device Manager and post a follow up on remaining issues you are having - including your card reader issue. You'll need to install the Lenovo Hot Key drivers using Windows 7 compatability mode to regain that FnF5 functionality in Windows 8..

Question: G570 new SSD

Hello everyone! I would need some advice! I was looking for the past few hours for an answer to a question, but coudn't find it. 1.Witch SSD would best fit my laptop (Lenovo IdeaPad G570AH i5 2430M 750GB 8GB HD6370M 1GB) ? and is it worth buying an SSD(SATA)?

Answer:G570 new SSD

Biggest you can afford with reads/writes around 500 mb/s sata 3 .. you should be happy. OCZ seems popular Intel and Kingston just came out with new models that have good reviews. You will lose a lot of disk space swapping out the 750gb drive with a smaller, but it will be much faster and you can turn it upside down and beat the cookie crumbs out of your keyboard without much worry.

I upgraded my Lenovo G570 from windows 7 to windows 8....Now I want to go back...I HATE windows 8....Anyway... When I press the one key recovery button (I had to put the program into windows 7 compatibility mode because as first it would not open) and click recover..Its supposed to reboot into recovery mode...it doesn't.It just reboots..The recovery partition is there...it just wont initiate it!  I tried to create new recovery cd's from factory default...it get to the second disc and freezes every time....Does anyone know a way to initiate the Recovery mode from the post screen or a boot cd?  Any help is appreciated!!  Lenovo wants $60 for a recovery Disc!

Answer:Help with G570! Please!!

Hello and welcome,

You created recovery media before upgrading from Win 7 or after?  Once anyting touches the partitioning, it's unlikely that recovery creation or OKR will work.

There may be a way to salvage OKR functionality.  Try a search on the forum.  I've seen it discussed, but don't have any experience  - sorry.

One option would  be to download a copy of Win 7 that matches whatever was installed originally (Home premium, pro, ...) and install that.  You can activate with the CoA you already have.  It will require phone activation.  You'll have to install the Lenovo drivers and apps manually.

For a legal Win 7 download, google "windows 7 legal download notebook review".

Question: G570 and new HD

I had a HDD crash on my machine (it came with w7 Home Premium). When tried to install W7 Pro, installation asked for drivers. Does Lenovo have a pack to download? I couln't find it on the website. Also, drivers are exe files... what to do with them when there is no OS on bran new HDD?  I also tried to install XP  Pro, but installer stopped when windows were about to start, with error message on a ble screen. Thank you in advance!

Answer:G570 and new HD

The driver .exe files are actuality just a compressed file, so you can use a program such as WinRar to extract the files, and then copy them to a USB memory stick and then when you are prompted for drivers, browse to the USB Stick (use a USB 2.0 port) and it will see the drivers and install them..  I would go to the G570 driver page and pull down and extract at least the Chipset (most likely what it is looking so it can see the harddrive), Display, Networking and Storage drivers from Lenovo... the rest can be updated later.     If you are using a USB stick to install Windows 7, just create a drivers folder and put them in there, and browse to that folder when prompted for drivers.  Hope that helps.

Question: G570 cpu

Hi, Can anyone tell me if the B940 pentium dual core processor that comes in this unit can be upgraded, perhaps to an "i" series chip or even a core2 class chip? From what I can tell on Intel's website this chip has integrated GPU, so I'm guessing that means if it can be upgraded, it would have to be an "i" series chip that also has GPU support.

pretty much ,yes aslong as it a 35watt and under class in a sandy bridge.however some features may need a bios that surport them.you really have to check what came for cpu in that model and what feature sets they have depending on what cpu you want to upgrade to.b940 is pretty bare feature wise and not that good power saving wise as well.

Question: G570 low CPU

I got my G570 in June and it worked great until a few days ago.  It seriously slowed down.  I thought it was a virus because I went to some sketchy sites and didn'thave antivirus.. but I did a recovery from the one key recovery to the first point when I got my computer... and it worked great a for a while and then it did the same thing.  I've been searching for hours and I have no idea what's wrong with it.  What it's doing right now is running very slowly and the CPU usage won't rise above 10%. Basically, no matter what I tell it to do, the CPU usage remains at idle levels. I've searched for hours on the internet looking for something that looks like my problem and I can't find anything. And before someone dares to tell me that a low CPU level is good... yes, I know. But not like this. I keep looking around and seeing stuff that looks like my problem and the way people say to fix it is to not worry about it because low CPU usages are good and if you make your computer do something strenuous the level will go up... but mine won't do anything strenuous because the CPU usage will not rise above idle levels. It takes forever to respond and will barely even open the internet. In fact, sometimes when I click, it won't even open the browser because that's too much work. It's almost like 10% is it's top level and it can'twork more than that. Can someone PLEASE help me?Add a reply Add to the list of quoted messages Quick edit Edit this message

My system is a G570 with Windows 7 Home Premium OEM. When booting normally I get Windows Error Recovery. Since I don't have the original Windows installation disk I can't go that route. If you let the laptop sit it will blue screen and reboot. If you go into safe mode it hangs on the CLASSPNP.SYS driver. Using the One Key recovery I get the Lenovo OneKey Rescue System 7.0 options. I use OneKey Recovery, the system works it's magic with no errors. Then reboot and back to the same problem above. I have run Memtest86 with 8 runs and no memory issues. I have created a repair disk from another Windows 7 system and no success. I used a Linux Live CD and found errors with the hard drive showing it should be replaced since there are sector problems. Are there any suggestions to how this should be handled or if I have missed something. The system is only two months old and under warranty.

Answer:Troubleshooting G570

Sounds like a failing hard drive, or other hardware problem.Time to use that warranty, I guess. If you have important files you need to save, use Linuxto save them to external, or pull the drive and put in externalenclosure for backup on another computer.

Question: Lenovo G570

I am running into a strange issue. My network adapter turns off whenever I move my laptop a little and then turns back on if I move the laptop again. This keeps on happening and is very annoying. Not sure what is causing this. Can you please help?

Answer:Lenovo G570

First thought would be you move the laptop you move the Ethernet cable too. It maybe isn't plugged in securely or has a loose crimp on one of its wires.. or a break. Try another network cable.

Im running windows 7 and the other day my computer froze while trying to update.  I turned it off and back on clicked shutdown and update, it was shutting down for hours until finally I let it die.  Everytime I turn it on now it runs fine for 3 or 4 minutes then freezes up again.  I tried one key recovery and it has been initializing for 40 minutes, i.e.. 0% complete.  What do I do?

Answer:Lenovo G570 HELP!!!

Hi rcw1201,

Thanks for posting and welcome to the community.

May I know prior to the freezing happening what typpe of update did you do. Was there anything particular that you'd installed that might have caused this?

I'm not entirely sure what is causing the freezing but base from what you've posted here I'm suspecting that this maybe caused by the some fuction with the HDD.

At this pointi would suggest you to do a chk dsk and atleast a defrag of the machine just to ensure that the hdd is running optimally.

Question: G570 Touchpad

Hi, first of all, I'm sorry if this has been addressed elsewhere, but my quick search didn't turn anything up. After many years of using Dells, I got a G570 and there are some issues I'm trying to fix with the touchpad. Is there a way for me to assign pressing the left and right touchpad buttons together to the mouse 3 function? I imagine this has been asked before, but couldn't figure out concise search terms. Also, when I click and drag something (like the volume control in a youtube video), my mouse continues dragging even after I release the button. I have to click again to release, which is really annoying. I accidentally mute videos, jump up and down pages sporadically when I'm dragging the side scroll bar, etc. all the time. I've tried changing the device settings in mouse properties, but this hasn't done anything (I thought unchecking tap and drag would fix the problem but it hasn't). Any help would really be appreciated. Thanks!

Question: G570 not booting

I've had my G570 for about a month now and just had a problem trying to turn it on.  I open it up and hit the power button to only have the power button light come on, and then go off.  No fans or hard drive spinning. Nothing on the screen will come up either. What I have tried:-unplugged power cable to turn it on-took out battery and tried to hard reset it by holding down power button-held down power button for 1, 2, 3, 5, 10, and 30 seconds at different times to see if it would turn on. I'm guessing motherboard has gone bad, any suggestions?

Answer:G570 not booting

Seems like you have tried the basic steps totroubleshoot power issue.Anything beyond that should be left to a Lenovo service center,so as not to risk further problems, and not to void warranty.

Hi, We recently purchased a refurbished Lenovo G570 laptop running Windows 7.  Our wireless (Verizon hotspot) does not work now.  I sense this is common issue, and apologize if I'm repeating questions already asked...but: What do we do?  What drivers should I download, if any? I just need some ideas.  Verizon was no help at all. FYI - we can connect to the internet as long as we tether the Verizon mobile hotspot device to the laptop.  So something is working.  When we disconnect and try to log on wirelessly, however, we get several different errors, and it will not connect to the internet.   Any help is appreciated!! Dan

Answer:Wi-Fi issues - G570

When I say "recently" I mean 3 days ago. The wifi has never worked since we got the laptop.  I worked the day before on our old laptop, which was a Toshiba with Windows Vista.  So I suspect Windows 7 is the issue.  It's definitely the Lenovo laptop causing the problem, though.

Question: g570 beeping

My G570 started making a "beeping" noise every 60 seconds, but is otherwise functioning normally. It continues to beep even if the the speakers are muted, and even happens while in the BIOS menu or while Windows is starting up. Does anyone know what might be causing this?

Answer:g570 beeping

Welcome to the forum!

The beeping is related to keyboard or the inverter on the LCD.

If beeping is due to keyboard. It will be continuous. As the beep is heard once in 60 seconds, I suspect the inverter. Nothing much can be done to solve it and part needs to be replaced.

Question: G570 Support

It must just be me as I can't see other users having any problems but I cannot find the G570 support section, the model just doesn't appear in any of the lists.  I have tried manually looking for it by model, the list only seems to go up to G560, I've tried the automatic identification plugin for Internet Explorer but it cannot recognise the laptop and I've tried the serial number and model number resulting in zero search results, am I missing something? Thanks Talifer

Question: G570 Screws

I am missing two screws, one on each side, in my Lenovo G570 laptop. They are under the laptop, at the back on opposite sides. I am wondering if there is some specific screw that I need to get. Thanks

Solved!

Answer:G570 Screws

Hi Mittho and welcome to the community,

Yeh, they're specific screws and since there's no Hardware Maintenance Manual for your machine, it would be tough to tell you what size to get.

However, it's not a bad idea to keep some extra screws around in case things like this happen.  If this is an actual pic of the screws, it looks like at least one has a stripped head on it, but there should be enough extras to get you fixed.

The Insyde H20 BIOS in the G570, and some other models, has a bug that prevents the hard disk being encrypted. As I understand it, there is an error in the code for ACPI. It is possible to work around this by using the hard drive through an IDE connection, but it is complex to set up. Has this error been corrected in a recent BIOS upgrade? I have v.214 of the BIOS. The BIOS updates on the Lenovo website do not have a cumulative list of changes, so there's no way for me to find out if it's been fixed. If it's not been fixed, are Lenovo going to fix this bug, which can easily turn laptops into bricks? What are the long-term consequences of using IDE? This blogpost describes the details of the error. This thread discussed the issue over a year ago. This thread on the TrueCrypt forum describes an extremely complex workaround.

Hi, I have a G570 which won't do anything at all. The AC adapter works fine as I test it in another laptop but when I press the power button on the laptop nothing happens. I had thought this to be an issue with the system board so I bought a new one but this doesn't work either, it as if there is no power getting to it at all. None of the cable look fault or broken and there are not lights of any kind. Any help apprecaited.ThanksAndy

Answer:Upfrading RAM for G570

Hi bijaya,

Welcome to Lenovo Community Forums!

If your upgrade is adding additional memory to join the Preloaded Memory, It is Always recommended to get the Identical Card that you already have.
This way Dual Channel feature will apply and that you'll get the most out of your Upgrade.

Preloaded Memory may differ from different machine type, It is always advisable to take a look at the physical RAM install in the computer for your comparison or reference.

Hope this helps
Cheers!

Question: G570 Will Not Boot

Trying to repair a Lenova G570 laptop. It won't boot, won't access safemode, bios does not recognize the CD/DVD ROM Drive. The Bios does show the USB drive but Neosmart Easy Recovery Essentials does nothing but flash its light. This laptop has several ways to make corrections but none work. The only thing it will do is show the bios. try to repair itself internaly and go to Starting Windows page, which it will show until you power off.Think maybe the only way to get into the laptop is to remove the hard drive and format on my desktop and try to reinstall Lenova Windows 7 SP1 Home Prenium x86 if I am able to get from Lenova. Please help.Toots22

Answer:G570 Will Not Boot

Hi Toots22,

Welcome to the Community Forums.

Try doing a power drain. Disconnect the AC charger and remove the battery.  Press and hold down the power button for 12 seconds to drain flea power.

Place back the AC charger and battery and press the One Key Recovery button (item4 page 69) to power on the laptop.
This would show an option for BIOS access also if FN + F2 on restart does not work.

Removing the hard drive can also be done to back up data by saving it to another computer or using a hard drive enclosure. Else, without a repair image then One Key Recovery (page 23) can be another option.

Update us how it works for you best.

Question: Problems with G570

Hey Lenovo Community, i have quite a few problems with my G570. 1. Broken Hinge The left hinge is broken and is now sticking out, which makes it harder to open and close the laptop.. I have googled that and found out that many people are experiencing the same problem. Even if i think that things like that shouldn't happen, this is not the main issue i have with the G570 2. Fan always at 100% About 1 minute or 2 after i have powered on the laptop and it has booted, the fan is starting to accelerate and soon is running at full speed, even if the computer isn't even warm.. I have monitored the CPU temperature with several programs. 2 Minutes after booting, every program has told me that the temperature raises and raises and raises... so the fan tries to cool it down. At 120°C the temperature monitor stops raising.... Must be a BIOS problem i think. After what i've read on the web, many people are experiencing this issue as well, a BIOS upgrade hasn't fixed said problem... this customer support is weak, seriously, lenovo... 3. Answer:Problems with G570

I have g570 with intel i3-2350m i just saw it do a backup and 65c which seems really hot to me - normal running is around 43c . Fan speed steps as does the cpu but seldom even hear the fan unless its hot. If I saw the temperatures you mention, I think I would be changing my thermal paste to one of the premium brands. Yours probably has deteriated some with that much heat. I might look at my fan blade too and wonder if some chinese factory worker put the blade on upside down. Think max thermal design / temperature rating on mine is 85c http://ark.intel.com/products/53438/Intel-Core-i3-2350M-Processor-(3M-Cache-2_30-GHz)

Question: G570 will not boot

Help! My G570 will not boot. It gets to the 'Starting Windows' screen, then sits there forever. Occasionally, if I let it set there for an hour, I can power it down and it will boot the next time. Sometimes I have to wait 12-24 hours. I will occasionally see the HD light randomly light up for 5-10 seconds, but it does not boot. For the last two days it has not booted at all. I tried booting in safe mode, but it hangs at CLASSPNP.sys. I have tried running Startup Repair three times in a row, and it reports 'OS booted successfully', but it will not boot. What do I do next?

Hello,I was wondering if anyone knew what ssd I should upgrade to. Any help would be appreciated. And also if you have any suggestions on a new prosesor it would be appreciated.

Answer:Upgrading from a hdd to a ssd on my g570

OCZ newer SDD's seem to be highly spoken of. Kingston just came out with new...and fast. Decent prices. The biggest you can afford that advertises around 500mb/s and you should be happy with any brand. You might search your cpu on Wikipedia. They have a good chart. Stick with same style and current. i7 run hot, maybe too hot.

Question: G570 HDD Problem

Hi, I am experiencing problems with my G570. A Trojan infected my laptop a few days ago and after many attempts I could start the computer on Safe mode and cleaned up but I had to format the HDD and installing Ubuntu to make it posible to use it.The problem is that afterwards, it only worked with Ubuntu and I couldn't install any other windows OS. At the moment, I can only use the computer with Ubuntu and the Onekey recovery partition doesn't work at all. Also, it seems there is a problem with the HHD. I got a message saying there is an error on SMART and if I try to install XP the laptop doesn't work at all.Question: How can I get windows 7 and install it if I don't have the disks to do so? Also, How can I be sure that there is a problem with the HDD or is a virus problem?I don't want to purchase another disk if this is still ok. Also, if I need to change the HDD, how can I do to install Windows 7 without the disks? I have the OA key product sticker in the laptop.Hope someone can help me with this. I tried with Lenovo customer services but they gave me differents phone number and finally no answer, so I don't know what to do or where can I address this issue. Thanks so much for your help.

Answer:G570 HDD Problem

hi Rod2013,

Welcome to the Lenovo Forums.

If you're getting a  S.M.A.R.T. failure on the HDD, it's probably due to bad sectors. To verify, try to:

1. Download the UBCD ISO and burn it using imgburn
2. Reboot the PC and boot from the diagnostic CD
3. On the diagnostic options, navigate to HDD > Diagnosis > & choose the diagnostic software depending on the brand of your HDD (i.e. choose Seagate for DOS if you have a Seagate HDD, Data Lifeguard if you have a Western Digital HDD, etc..)

To burn the diagnostic softwre on a flashdrive, follow this guide .

If you find any errors, you will need to contact lenovo lenovo for service or you can DIY and replace the HDD.
If you want to reinstall the preloaded Windows 7 OS on the new HDD, you can:

Option 1
1. Download a Windows 7 ISO and burn it using imgburn.
2. Install Windows 7 using this guide (use the product key from the COA sticker if necessary)

Option2:
3. Contact lenovo for service and obtain a copy of a recovery disc to reload the preloaded Windows 7 OS and apps.

Hope this helps

Question: Replacing G570 fan

Hi, My G570 fan is awfully noisy and the bios update from 03/2011 didn't solve a thing. The main problem, as I can see with SpeedFan is that the fan doesn't shut down when the temps go back into the normal range. So what I want to do is to replace the fan with a compatible and quiet fan. Question: G570 - CPU upgrade

Hello, I have G570 with Pentium B960, 8GB RAM, HD 6370m and 500GB HDD.So I want to make a upgrade, because of new laptops are not so good (It's the same thing as I have) I'm thinking about i5-2450m, i5-2540m, i7-2620m and i7-2630QM (which is QUAD core!).I think there is no problem with that i5's, they are normally used in g570. But there are the i7's, which one, the i7-2620m is dual core = 35W and the other one i7-2630QM, which is quad core = 45W. Is there chance to have quad core CPU in my G570 ?Probably I'll don't have problem with overheating(If you know how to increase cooling power I'll be happy if you tell me), but with BIOS or MB support there will be problem. I've upgraded bios to latest version yet. Thank you for answer and sorry for my bad english.

Question: G570 drivers

The scrolling feature doesn't work now that I've updated to windows 10.  I did a clean install of windows 10, and there are a number of problems corresponding to missing drivers.  I've looked around, and I dont see that the drivers are availible for g570.  Anyone know if this is ever going to happen?   Really, anyhelp is appreciated

Answer:G570 drivers

Hi grimtoothy ,

Welcome to the Community Forums.
Based on Lenovo supported systems list for Windows 10 Upgrade
"If your system is not listed, it hasn?t been tested for Windows 10 upgrade and is not supported. "

Same reason as you have noticed that on OS tab,  would not show drop down for Windows 10 drivers for G570.

Aside from the option of going back to the original OS , you may want to try using Microsoft Drivers thru update .
Or directly checking on the manufacturer website by checking on the parts number and description to get specific manufacturer of the device for a recommended Windows 10 driver if they would be releasing one.
Else you may want to try lower driver version and running it on compatibility mode.

It would be a challenge.
We hope those alternate path would work on your devices.
Update us on how it goes.

Question: G570 failed again

I have a Lenovo G570 with the ATI Radeon GPU which has failed twice in the same way. The first time it was still in warrany and was repaired by Lenovo, this time I am looking to fix it myself. Both times the problem appears to be that the GPU solder joints to the motherboard failed. Once this happens, the computer usually does not even reach POST, but if it does, the graphics are flickery and do not show the whole screen. Lenovo replaced the entire board when the first failure occured (about 10 months after purchase), the second failure occured less than six months later.Has anyone else had this problem with the G570 or similar Lenovo laptops? Have I just been unlucky or is this a design flaw in the machine? When the computer is working I love it, but if fails every six months it's not that useful. Is there anything I can do to reduce the likelihood of this problem reoccuring if I get the laptop repaired?

Answer:G570 failed again

Hello everyone,  I suppose I have the same problem, but not sure yet, only just understand it. In my notebook I can't set driver in  the integrated MB GPU 3000 HD graphics. the Notebook works only with independent AMD ATI Radeon GPU. Question: G570 LCD Issue

Hi everyone, I recently purchased a Lenovo G570 4334DDU laptop and I've been a little annoyed with the LCD.  It's almost as if there is a very thin mesh of lines through out the screen.  It's more noticable on white backgrounds and at times it makes images look sort of pixelated.  My old laptops never had such noticeable vertical lines.   Is this a defect in the lcd or are the screens for this laptop just really low end?

Question: B570 vs. G570

Looking into purchasing one of these laptops, can someone please explain the difference between a lenovo b570 and a g570? Thanks. Jeff

Answer:B570 vs. G570

I'm just a Lenovo 3000 series user, no expert. My wife has a G575 and I have a B575. The 5 suffex just means the machines have AMD Vision processors. I believe G570's and B570's have intel processors. I kind of like the B series better because it adds a fingerprint reader, HDMI port and one of the four USB 2 ports is a combo ESATA/USB port. It also has a different type of screen hinge that extends to the end of the unit that seems a  bit more stable. The touch pad on the B series is also a little bit larger. The deck of the B series has less rounded edges though, and is not quite as comfortable as the G series if you rest your wrists there while you are typing. I personally don't find this to be a problem. Both machines are great though, and we haven't had any problems at all. They have fantastic keyboards ( both models seem to have the same keyboard ) and are a heck of a bang for the buck......Good luck with your decision..........

I tried to do a system recovery and got "system restore failed to extract the file from E:\ from the restore point. An unspecified occurred during the system restore 0x8000ffff". Recently, the AMD Radeon in my G570 started to get very hot, over 100 °C, and freezing the display for a couple of seconds or shutting down the laptop all together. I recently updated the BIOS. Since the first signs I checked that the fan works and got rid of dust in the system. This improved it a little bit but running certain flash games in Firefox for example is not easily possible. Edit: I forgot to addd, I also receive the message "Display Driver Stopped Responding and Has Successfully Recovered". Following one suggestion on the web I downloaded the latest graphics driver and set the Visual Effects in Performance Information and Tools to best for performance, but this hasn't solved the problem and would be strange if it did as I own this piece now over a year and never had a single problem, not even the ones mentioned in other threads around here, e.g. fan noise/constant running or hinges.

Answer:G570, AMD Radeon getting very hot

Hi

Welcome To Lenovo Community

Please try cleaning the heat sink fan & also try adding fresh thermal past on the processor
And GPU, It should cool down the system and work normally.

May be thermal past has dried up which is causing the system to heat up

Ok, so some time in Februrary, my laptop, which had messed up hinges, suddenly shut itself off. One of the wires that ran through the hinges had came apart. I don't have a lot of money, so I decided to open it up and try to fix the wires myself. Needless to say it didn't turn on, but the wire I found out led to what I believe is the wireless card, which I didn't understand why it wouldn't turn on (No lights, the fan doesn't start, etc). So, from then on I would contantly take apart my laptop a bit and put it back together in an attempt to fix it. However, earlier this month, for the first time I unplugged the wire that connects the screen directly to the laptop, and it turned on. I was excited, but without a screen, it wasn't much good. So I tested all the parts I removed, including the wire, which would cause my laptop to immediately turn off when plugged in. Of course, I wouldn't be here if something else went wrong. After plugging in the wire for the screen again, just to indeed confirm that was the issue, my laptop no longer turns on. I have tried removing everything again, but it won't turn on. Again (no lights, fan, etc). Is there any way to find out what the problem is without taking it anywhere/anyone know what the problem could be? For reference, this is the exact one I have. It was bought referbished, and is no longer under warrenty.

I'm getting around 74 grades Celsius on my i3-2330M of my G570 while gaming, and the air comes really really hot. The GPU is reaching 68 grades while gaming as well. Don't know if these are normal though.

Hi. My Lenovo G570 just stopped charging. It worked for awhile, but it just stopped charging out of the blue, and eventually just ran out of battery. Now it won't even turn on; I press the power button and nothing happens. The light  on the adapter is blue, and the light on the front of the laptop next to the battery with the plus sign on it is red. The piece that plugs into the laptop is very loose when I plug it in, yet none of the screws are loose. Please help.

hi PainKiller,

Welcome to the Forums.

You most likely have an issue with the power jack (the connector in the laptop where you plug-in the AC charger). You can either have the DC-Jack replaced or have it fixed by a professional - see this video as a reference. You can contact lenovo for service or a local computer repair shop that specializes in DC-jack fix. (fees may apply).

Question: G570 - upgrade RAM

SirMy laptop g570 has 2 gb ram now i want to increase my ram to 8 gb.So whats the frequency of ram i put in slot.

Answer:G570 - upgrade RAM

after checking your models hardware maintenance manual, there are 3 compatable 4 gb ram cards of equal speeds, to get 8gb of ram you would need to get 2, the cheapest i could find any of the chips was $21 each on amazon which would mean a total cost of $42. this chip should be combatable with your pc.

Question: Adding RAM to G570

So I've got 4GB of Samsung PC3-10600 1333MHz DDR3 RAM. There are no laptop RAM sellers around my place so I decided to order another 4GB of RAM from the internet.I've seen PC3-10600 and PC-10600. Also PC8500 and PC12800.* Where do I have to look to order the correct RAM? Also, I've seen Kingston and Adata offers with the same characteristics (PC3-10600 1333MHz).* Are they going to work on my G570? And another question.* I do have 4GB. Can I add 2GB (=6GB) or I'm able to add only 4GB (so it will be 4x4GB=8GB)?

Answer:Adding RAM to G570

hi Barrett_killz,

Thanks for Posting!

this is your system data sheet
    http://shop.lenovo.com/us/ww/pdf/G570_Datasheet_US.pdf

This G570 supports RAM Dual Channel Feature.
With this, i suggest getting an Identical Ram speed/frequency to activate dual channel for more performance boost.

So if the system already have
   4GB of Samsung PC3-10600 1333MHz DDR3 RAM

You can get another 4GB PC3-10600 1333MHz DDR3 = 2x4GB
or
You can get another 2GB PC3-10600 1333MHz DDR3 = (1x2GB +1x4GB = 6GB)
just make sure they are both PC3-10600 1333MHz DDR3
another thing is that it is always advisable to get the same Brand / Manufacturer)

Hope this helps
Cheers!

Hello friendsI am installing windows 7 ultimate on my Lenovo g570 but its doest detect the CD ROM so I decided to install using my computer. So I remove the had disk and connect it to my computer and I install successfully but when I connect the HD with Laptop "it boot up to starting windows then it crash with blue screen" and I don't have any backup or anythingplease tell me what to do

Answer:Lenovo G570 Need Help

hi samsfs01,

Welcome to the Lenovo Community.

If your cd/dvd drive is not working, the alternate way to install Windows 7 is by creating a bootable Windows 7 USB Flash Drive. - check here - http://tinyurl.com/q7m5v2 - for step by step guide A probable reason why you got a bluescreen from the post above is because it's trying to read the machine information where you installed Windows and when you put it on a different PC, the machine information got changed (this normally happens if the two machines are not identical).
Hope this helps.

Hey, Im a computer repair tech and one of my clients have a G570 20078 which would not boot up at all. After pressing the power, the system would attempt to rev up. The fan would then suddenly shut off and all the components would not work. The cd drive would not pop out and the monitor would stay dark. The system however will not shut off so it will get hotter  from the CPU unless I hold the power for 5 seconds. After talking to my client, he says it all started after he went on youtube, the system shut off on him and he could not start it ever since. In my opinion, it looks like the bios will not post due to some hardware problem? What do you suggest?

Answer:G570 Would not start

try hard reset and/or check the ram sticks.if it doesn't work, call lenovo support line and ask fore mainboard replacement.

Question: WinXP SP2 on G570?

i needed to load some older software for a project i need to complete. it requires winXP SP2. how do i install this on G570? i went to BIOS and changed AHCI to compatibility mode, but during installation there is an BSOD, no matter what i try.obviously the driver has to be the correct one. maybe the one i used is older (f6flpy3286.zip according to some guides found online). any ideas?

Answer:WinXP SP2 on G570?

hi pm242,

Welcome to the Lenovo Community.

Changing the SATA Mode from AHCI to Compatibility under BIOS should allow you to install XP. If you're trying to install the SATA/AHCI driver for the HDD and it fails with a BSOD, Try this driver:
http://support.lenovo.com/en_US/downloads/detail.page?DocID=DS011124

If the problem persists, I recommend you install Windows XP with a slipstreamed SP3 on it and that should install Windows XP (the Service Pack 3 contains SATA drivers).
Hope this helps.

Today I turn on my lenovo G570 but it suddenly turned off. Now I can't turn it on and I can't even charge its battery, when I plugged in the adapter light flashes. It looks like that it can't charging. What do I need to do?

Answer:Lenovo G570 won't turn on

Hi mond45,

Welcome to Lenovo Community Forums!

Can you try performing a Drain first

First do a Power Drain
     (If the battery is removable)
Remove AC and Battery and hold the power button down for 15 sec.
Now Reconnect only the AC (No battery see if it will turn on)
Now Try reconnecting the battery with the AC and see if it will turn on.

If the Battery plugged in caused the issue You will need to have the battery replaced.
If both will not work,

Try checking the RAM and HDD
Remove the HDD and see if that will let you Get to the Lenovo Screen.
Remove the ram and try using only one Module or try using other RAm port.

Hope this helps
Cheers!

Question: G570 BIOS Issue

My Lenovo G570 is working fine one day.  When I try to use it a few days later, I receive a Windows boot error; File: \Boot\BCD Status: 0xc000000f Info: An error occurred while attempting to read the boot configuration data. I thought "Oh great! Now I have to find my recovery disks!"... which I do have.  Problem is when I try to load the BIOS by restarting the laptop and pressing F2, keep getting the same Boot error.  The machine does not load the BIOS as I thought it would.  I'm not sure what to do from here.  I need access to the BIOS to change the boot order and have the machine read my recovery disk.  Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Answer:G570 BIOS Issue

hi poinsda,

Welcome to the Community.

Can you try the following:
1. Insert your Recovery Discs and try pressing F12 on startup - this displays a boot manager where you can select a boot device (i.e. HDD, CD/DVD, etc.) - select CD/DVD to boot from the Recovery Disc.
2. Turn off the machine and press the One Key Recovery button to trigger the built-in recovery feature on the HDD.

Note:
Loading the Recovery Discs or doing the One Key Recovery will wipe the machine and restore its factory settings

This info can be found here

Will drivers for windows 10 be released for the G570. Upgraded ok but no Wifi or camera drivers available?.

Answer:G570 windows 10 upgrade

I have G570 - 4334 Been on win10 since last October testing and have current RTM installed right now. Video driver in device manager you should be able to right click and update driver ... mine downloaded and installed VM331STI.EXE VM331 StiMnt ViMicro driver.Device Manager shows it as Imaging Device / Lenovo EasyCamera. Wi-Fi you need to search the Wi-Fi makers support site for the latest driver or just install from support.lenovo.com the windows 8 driver... then run windows updates or from device manager use the search for updates. Lenovo apparently doesn't want future purchases of laptops by those of us who bought the lower priced laptops as they certainly are not supporting them with updated softwares - so why should we support them by purchasing another laptop when the time comes..

My elderly mother has gone out and bought herself a G570 laptop and (on the advice of PC World) a 3G pay as you go dongle. However we can't connect to the internet even though there is very good 3G reception in her area - at first she'd not slotted the sim in correctly which is what we thought was the problem , but no, even with sim in correctly. . . . . . nothing .
Have downlaoded the user guide from home and theres reference to switching the integrated wireless switch and using the Fn and F5 keys. Is this where we're going wrong?
Any help would be much appreciated.
Thank you.

Answer:3g connection issue - g570

http://www.manualowl.com/m/Lenovo/G570/Manual/117940

Hi Baser999 and welcome to the forum,

On the front of the laptop, there should be a switch that turns on the wireless.

With the dongle inserted, press Fn + F5 and a window should come up showing your wireless adapter, bluetooth, (if you have it) and the dongle. There should be a software button to turn on the dongle. (with a little luck).

Activating it is probably going to bring up the software for the dongle.  It might or might not ask for some information. (I'm not familiar with that wireless carrier)

Hi vikasbittu29,

Welcome to Lenovo Community Forums!

Can you check if the WIFI is in device manager list.
Open Device Manager (Press Windows key + X) and select Device Manager.
  Open network adapters list
It should say Wifi Wireless or 802.11
If it is There, Let me know

If it is not there,
You need to go to BIOS mode
Turn OFF the computer and press the OKR Button
Select Set up or setup utility or BIOS
Go to COnfigurations TAB and make sure that wireless or WLAN is Enabled then hit F10 to Save and exit
This should get you back your WIFI device

Let me know your findings
Cheers
