G505 - Wrong BIOS - need to downgrade

Question: G505 - Wrong BIOS - need to downgrade

I have a G505-20240. A Lenovo tech updated my BIOS to 82CN27WW(V3.00). The currently supported BIOS is 82C24WWV. (a lower version). I tried to install the correct BIOS, but the utility wouldn't let me as it is a "newer" version.Any help in downgrading my BIOS (to the correct one) would be greatly appreciated. Frank_user

Preferred Solution: G505 - Wrong BIOS - need to downgrade

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

I would like to complain about a problem with the latest BIOS update for the G505, which shows as version 2.04, posted Nov. 19th, 2013.  Prior to the BIOS update, I was able to use the function keys without having to use the Fn key, example the F1-F3 keys to control system volume, F7 for Airplane mode, etc. Since the update I have to press the Fn key as well as the function key.  According to the note included with the update there should be a setting in the BIOS in the Configuration menu for the Hotkey Mode, which I am not seeing, despite looking at all the menus in the BIOS. Is there anyplace where I might be able to locate the previous BIOS version so that I can try to roll the latest version back, or would it be possible to get a BIOS update that actually includes the Hotkey Mode? Here is a link to the BIOS update in question:  http://support.lenovo.com/en_US/downloads/detail.page?DocID=DS038945

There was a similar problem with Lenovo G500, but someone solved it by resetting BIOS to default settings, and then restarting the system. Try it, and see if the missing option appears:Enter the BIOS > Load Default Settings > Save and Exit (restart) > Enter the BIOS again

hi priyankodey,

Welcome to the Lenovo Forums.

In the BIOS, do you see SVM Support under the Configuration Tab ?
   - Link to picture

On Gx05/Gx05s, SVM or Secure Virtual Machine must be enabled for virtualization technology to work.

Answer:lenovo g505 - virtualization setting in BIOS

Hi francogrispa,
Welcome to the Community Forums.
Enabling Virtualization usally is available under Configuration Tab or Advanced Tab > CPU set up . You may also check for SVM support under Configuration tab to enable similar to this thread.

You may want to run Microsoft® Hardware-Assisted Virtualization Detection Tool for further checking .
Best also to check your CPU if VT is supported ( similar to this)

Hope that answers your inquiry
Let us know how it goes.

Hi guys, i hope that you can help me. I have windows 7 Ultimate N x64, it is a bootleg version, i just bought genuine windows 7 ultimate which is NOT N version. I tried to activate my win 7 ultimate N but activation said key was valid for Ultimate only & not N. It then said run the setup file.

I then tried to run the setup from my USB and before doing so i found a tutorial online that said to delete a file i think called Ef.cfg or something like that, it was contained in the sources folder, the reason for deleting this file was so that upon going to setup page i would be presented with a list of versions of win 7 that i could choose from. I did the above, got to the install page, picked win 7 ultimate, clicked next, it started installing, i went for a shower and came back and i had a message about an error, i did not pay full attention to the error but it failed to install. The pc tried to reboot but now i get presented with a screen that says repair or something along those lines. I tried to repair it but it failed.

I know i'm doing a bad job of all the messages, but i will shortly post a video of what happens.

I do NOT have an installation disk or usb, i am still using the bootlegged usb to try and fix this. If i need to download a different install iso please let me know.

I have or rather did have my win 7 installed on an ssd if that is of any help.

Answer:Win 7 downgrade gone wrong

Welcome to Seven Forums and good to know you bought a Genuine w7 key. I'd throw away the bootleg version, but save the USB stick to use this.
Clean Install Windows 7
There are links to download the version you need and to make the USB installer.

The N version is for Europe and has no Media player included. The EU thought is was a monopoly or something.

Hello: I have a Win7 Ideapad U410. tried upgrading to Windows 10, terrible performance, tried updating to 65cn99ww BIOS for Win8, FUBAR'd everything all the setup for Win10. installed Win8 as the  65cn99ww BIOS was for Win8 but couldn't fflash the 68cn21ww BIOS. Found apparently untouch 65cn13ww bios, flashed and now unresponsive. I can get into the BIOS but no matter what I do it won't try booting anything USB / external USB Install DVD, or HDs. Tried the hold power button for 15 sec without being plugged in to reset the BIOS, going to try disconnecting the battery and try the 15 sec power button reset again.  As it won't boot from a USB I don't think any of the BIOS mod people's tricks will help re-install the bios, especially since I cannot get ahold of the original or other BIOS file without the Lenovo install exe. Any suggestions as to what to do now?- Try to buy a new motherboard?- is it possible to get another BIOS chip?- will disconnecting the BIOS battery help?- Take it to a service agent? or just get a new computer :-( Thanks  Dave

Touchpad not working anymore. I have 2 operating systems, XP and W7 and is the same.

The mouse is working but the touchpad is still dead.
Any advice?

How can I find the old version of BIOS to make a downgrade ?

Try to contact Toshiba authorized service provider in your country. They have access to Toshiba database and access to BIOS archive.
I am sure they can send you old BIOS version and you can downgrade BIOS on your notebook.

I bought this computer a year ago and it came with Windows 8, which I upgraded to 8.1 and then 10. Today, I formatted my hard drive and installed Windows 7. This has caused some issues, such as with drivers.

Chrome is not displaying pages as it used to. Text is poorly aligned, often the wrong font, and there are these boxes appearing:

Here is how it displays in IE:

I have already checked encoding and it was using Windows1252 and I changed it to Unicode and nothing changed.
It's not a driver issue either as I already updated drivers and everything works fine in IE.

Hello all, I have a SL500I have upgraded to windows 7 home premium yesterday,so i just got all my the software and Lenovo applications updated since i need to reinstall all of them.I also came across with an update on the bios, so i proceeded. I originally had a password set, its the one that I need to enter soon after I switch on my laptop,NOT that one use to log in and out of windows. ( I am not sure if its called the BIOS password)After updating the bios, i was asked for a password when it reboot, however it didnt take my original password anymore. I am not sure if all passwords get erased after updating bios, if it did, i dont get why it still asked for the password when i reboot.  As i kept trying and kept getting the password wrong, i got this message " system halted"After that, the system just reboot again, and from this time on, it never asked for any password when I switch on my laptop. Everything still runs fine, HHD didn't get formatted. But then there is one problem, I can not get into bios now. Would anyone have any ideas what happened to my laptop or solutions to the above situation, please comment and advise. Your help will be much appreciated.Thank you.

Answer:Downgrade BIOS

I would quit while you are ahead.

You only ever upgrade a BIOS to correct a hardware issue that you are actually experiencing. A real percentage of BIOS flashes go bad, and on a laptop that usually means the motherboard is toast.

Flashing the BIOS is not a recreational activity, I would only do it if a gun was pointed at my head...

Pull out your CMOS battery and keep it out for an hour or so, with the main battery also removed. Your BIOS should go back to the one that the machine had been shipped with in the first place once you put everything back. Hope this helps.Message Edited by ajkula66 on 07-22-2008 01:16 PM

I would like to know if it is possible to downgrade the BIOS on my HP 655 laptop from the most recent update (F.29) to the most recent previous revision (F.27).  I am experiencing a lack of sound on my laptop despite having uninstalled/reinstalled/re-reinstalled the appropriate HP and Realtek drivers as advised elsewhere in the HP help forums, but I am not able to achieve a lasting resolution.  Someone apparently downgraded their BIOS from F.29 to F.27 and seems to have resolved the issue thus. I have the SoftPaq files for both the BIOSs (sp66770 for F.29 and sp64675 for F.27), and I am unable to bring about an effective downgrade.  No matter what I try, the BIOS still appears to be F.29 when checked in BIOS. I would appreciate either an update to sp66770 which addresses the inherent issue with the sound card or the ability to effectively downgrade back to F.27 so that I can hear music through my speakers without having to uninstall/reinstall drivers, etc., every time I turn my laptop on or off. Thank you.

Where did you download the sp66770 from?  It is not available in the download section of the support portal for the HP 655 notebook. I downloaded the two available BIOS softpaqs from the download section and extracted them to investigate the issue. I do notice that both BIN files have the same file name, are identical in Byte size but have different modification dates.  I wil have to ask HP where the previous versions are located.  Had you considered using the PC Diagnostics firmware management utility to rollback the BIOS to the previously installed version? The BIOS file should be in the HP_Tools Old BIOS folder if you upgraded from it to the current BIOS version.

Laptop HP g6-2054er, OS Windows 7 64x. I updated the BIOS to F.2A. How can I return F. 03? When I run sp57047.exe - "This BIOS file is not allow to flash. The flash process will be terminated." Help me please.

Answer:HP g6-2054er downgrade bios

I do not see a version F.03 available at the software download portal for your notebook. Use the UEFI PC Hardware Diagnostics - Firmware Management utility to attempt to rollback to the previous BIOS version. Important !! - connect the power adapter. and do not disconnect it or turn off the notebook once you are in the process or updating or rolling back a BIOS. Failure to pay attention to this warning will result in a "bricked "or useless laptop. Press the power button and immediately begin tapping on the F2 key. Use the touchpad to select Firmware Management. Now select and click on rollback BIOS.

Hi Folks,

Answer:Problems after Bios Downgrade

Oh boy. That does not sound good.

A bad BIOS flash can "brick" a computer. Let us now hope that is not the case.

First: try a CLRTC procedure:
Shut down the computer > remove the power cord.
Remove the 3v battery.
Move the CLRTC jumper from pins 1-2 to 2-3.
Touch a metal part of the case and Press and Hold the reset button for approx. 30 seconds to discharge all power from the board.
Put the CLRTC jumper back on pins 1-2.
Replace the 3v battery > replace the power cord > boot.
Immediately go back into BIOS and reset all your preferred settings. If the CLRTC worked you will need to reset the date and time.
If you cannot get back into the BIOS after the CLRTC, then your next step will be to replace the BIOS chip.

You can order a chip from ASUS and solder it to the board yourself (or if you are fortunate, the chip will be the plug-in kind), or you can have a reputable service guy do it, or send the board back to ASUS for repair.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

Why you don't close all open applications before you start BIOS update (firefox)?
Do some other applications run in the background?

Extract all BIOS files onto desktop, close all running applications and not important processes (check taskbar) and please test it again.

Hello! I have had my laptop on service for a simple fix of the USB ports and when i got the laptop back the service center had updated my BIOS to ver 1.16 (jduj06ww.exe) according to levono support site. Problem is that I need to have BIOS ver 1.06 flashed into my laptop because of later versions the DVMT pre-allocated size to 128mb and it wont work with OS X. When i try the BIOS flash file ver 1.06 from the lenovo support site (jduj01ww.exe) the laptop reboot and when the flash process is about to start i simply get the "secure flash authentication failed" message and the laptop reboot. And yes i have rollback enables in the security setting in the BIOS settings. Is there something i have missed? or is the BIOS just locked for downgrading? Someone have any advice? I need to get below BIOS ver 1.12 at least i think but 1.06 would be the best. Is there a way to flash the bios from DOS and force it? Regards Fred.

Hi Spreast,

Welcome to Lenovo Forums!

Pull out your CMOS battery and keep it out for an hour or so, with the main battery also removed. Your BIOS should go back to the one that the machine had been shipped with in the first place once you put everything back.

Please let me know whether the above step helped you.
Thank you, have a good day.

I would like to really hear straight answer to this. This BIOS version is seriously bad. I found this in the changelog. LIMITATIONS2.13 BIOS updates UMRS00347 for UEFI Vulnerability , it's mainly to improve BIOS security vulnerability, so winflash will reject user to downgrade to lower than 2.13(such as 2.12) version which doesn't have this feature. What exactly is "winflash"? I had found this page ... http://support.lenovo.com/us/en/products/laptops-and-netbooks/thinkpad-edge-laptops/thinkpad-edge-e5... On the bottom, there is list of ISO images for bios from version 2.07. Does that mean it can be used? I don't want to end up with dead notebook.

hello,  I was having troubles with my E530 running win xp, so I have decided to try and upgrade BIOS. I have upgraded to the newest version, 2.56. I have immediately found out that it was a very wrong idea - win xp does not boot, it ends up in BSOD. Same with its installation program. I have found a downgrade solution and had to downgrade via CD, but I have been able to download only 2.07 BIOS version, but I am almost 100% sure the laptop came with 1.17 or something similar. Nevertheless, win xp still does not boot up. Win 7 works perfectly.  Thank you for any help, it will be very much appreciated.  Filip Cizek.

Answer:E530 - need bios downgrade

Hello Filip, welcome to the community,

first off please check in your BIOS Config menu how the Config menu and ensure that in the Serial ATA (SATA) option you have Compatibility mode selected and not AHCI.  When set to Compatibility mode the Windows XP should be able to boot.

There may also be a setting in BIOS you have to change in order to allow the BIOS to be downgraded, unfortunately I can't remember if your system has this option in the BIOS.

Please let us know the outcome

Hello,

I have made a Bios upgrade (2.30) but now, avid media composer don't work....
How can i do a bios downgrade?

Thanks.

Answer:Re: How to make a Bios downgrade?

Hi

To DOWNgrade a BIOS you will need an previous and traditional BIOS version.
Such BIOS is not available for download.
Only the newest win based BIOS is available for download.
So this means that only Toshiba authorized service provider would be able to downgrade the BIOS.

But I don?t think that new BIOS version is the reason for the issue with avid media composer.
What problem do you have exactly?

Does anybody know if it is possible/advisable to "update" one's BIOS to a previous version? That is, are there additional problems involved with downgrading the BIOS than the common risks with BIOS upgrades?  What I'm considering doing is downgrading to the version released in late June 2013, since it supposedly fixes the battery drain issue. Nobody at Lenovo apparently cares to respond to any of my queries of how it is possible that I have a newer version of the BIOS than is currently posted as the newest one (I have 1.40-1.20 installed since Oct-2012; the latest, new version posted Jun-2013 is 1.40-1.15) nor what to do about it. So I'm considering going ahead and reinstalling (overwriting) my current BIOS with the one posted on the web site: 1.40-1.15. (I'm experiencing quite severe problems with heat as well as terrible battery drain post upgrading to Win8 Pro.) I'm no BIOS expert, so I am unaware of any risks or potential problems by downgrading one's BIOS. Perhaps there's nothing to it and amounts to the same as any BIOS upgrade/install. If so, please let me know. I'm in complete lack of reliable expertise. Thank you!

I'd tend to believe that your problems are related to W8 and not the BIOS version that you're running.

That being said, yes you can downgrade the BIOS and the risks are the exact same ones that are present during any BIOS upgrade.

Good luck.

I'm trying to resolve an issue where my M4600 running WIndows10 will not go into Sleep mode.  It Hibernates instead.  This started after upgrading the BIOS to A17.  I have tried all combinations of settings in Advanced Power Mgmt.
Powercfg reports that the S1 state is not supported.  Thus I'm trying to go back to the previous BIOS version (A16).
When executing the bios executable (M4600A16.exe) from a bootable dos usb drive, the process upgrade begins, but never goes thru the update phase.  The laptop immediately reboots with no change to the bios.
Appreciate any suggestions.

Answer:T460 can't downgrade bios

That's a property of the BIOS version you have installed itself, not the BIOS setting.

This normally happens when a new version includes security updates.  Per:

https://download.lenovo.com/pccbbs/mobiles/r06uj49w.txt

If the UEFI BIOS has been updated to 1.22 or higher,
it is no longer able to roll back to the version before 1.22
for security improvement.
What are you trying to fix by a roll-back?  The latest version is 1.23.  Have you tried that?

Hello everyone,

I upgraded the BIOS on my Z30-B-119 laptop, and it is much worst than the original BIOS so I would like to downgrade it.
There was no way to save the original BIOS when updating and the previous BIOS is not available on the website.

Do anyone have the original BIOS and knows how to extract it?

Or maybe someone knows how to contact Toshiba technical team directly? (Seeing what they implemented in new BIOS, I have no hopes they read this forum or care about user opinions.)

If you wonder why I want to downgrade and what is wrong with it, see below for explanation.

I was convinced that the new BIOS would fix the problem with the fan, which switched on way too early, but it turned out they made it much worst! Now the fan switches on at 42?. Before it was 50?, which was already a stupid choice of Toshiba engineers, providing that the temperature rating of this CPU is 105? so they could keep the laptop quiet at least up to 60?, especially that many people complain about the fan in this model. Instead, Toshiba did the opposite and lowered the temperature even more.

Seeing how senseless choices their engineers make, I will never buy another Toshiba and will not recommend anyone buying their products. But since I already made the mistake an bought a Toshiba laptop, I hope I will be able to downgrade the BIOS or contact them to ask for an update.

Let me know if you know how to do it.

I have a brand new HP ProBook 450 G3 and wanted to update the Bios before setting up an operating system. The Built-in Bios update via Network (In the Bios Menu) worked, but it actually downgraded my Bios from 1.02 to 1.01. I've downloaded what seems to be the latest version: 01.10 Rev.A(12 Apr 2016) (sp75637.exe)Ran the exe to create a Rescue USB Flash Drive. The update function in the Boot Menu (Esc during boot) didn't find the file. I manually moved it to the folder it was expecting and then the upgrade worked, but it sent my device to an infinite reboot loop.Luckily the network updater allowed me to downgrade to 1.01 again. So what is this? HP releases new version on their site that don't seem to work and the update finds even older versions?

To downgrade your bios back to an earlier version you have to enter the bios setting by clicking the Novo button which is on the side of your computer. The computer must be turned off to click the button. Then once your in the bios setting, click on configuration then enable bios downgrade option. Then save change and exit. This is the bios version that is installed on my Lenovo yoga 910 https://download.lenovo.com/consumer/mobiles/2jcn34ww.exe The new one is 2jcn35ww which had issues for me like the computer being very slow and fans constantly running. But this bios version which was originally installed on my computer and which I now have has not given me any issues and the computer works super fast and the fans no longer come on even while using google chrome which I use all the time. Google chrome no longer lags or freezes either nor does the computer for that matter. Everything boots up in 1 second without any stutters.

I updated my bios to v2.05 as suggested for many reasons.  Later driver rss feed states bios update not needed.I have been having issues since the update and was hoping I could downgrade the bios back to 2.03, I believe it was.  Not sure if my issues are bios related but I am willing to give it a try?  Where do I find this bios or any other driver for that fact not currently listed on driver support page.  I have found updating some drivers resulted in decreased performance or at least issues I don't want to deal with.  As a side note, I don't plan on keeping windows 8 or 8.1 around much longer, will 2.05 work with windows 7 and where are the rest of windows 7 drivers not listed on driver support page?  BTW there doesn't seem to be any driver backup folder on my machine, either c or d partitions from factory.  Thanks for your time.  If we all share our knowledge about this machine, maybe we can get this machine to run like it should.  Lenvovo has yet been able to do so, but they have taken great strides to at lease make it run.  Again thank you for your time.

Hi.I noted my notebook goes throttling very often.I think this is occurring after BIOS update. As a test I would like to downgrade BIOS. I tested both the two versions available on the drivers site of mu Pavilion 15-bc014nl, and the problem is present. Is it possible to download the original BIOS as a test? Many thanks.Andrea

Hi,

does anyone know if
a) the laptop allows firmware downgrades?
b) older firmwares are stored somewhere publicly?

Kind regards, Timo

Is there any way how to downgrade T440p BIOS from 2.31 to 1.14??? Thanks in advance for any help, Michal

Answer:T440p bios downgrade

All the versions are listed here:http://support.lenovo.com/us/en/products/laptops-and-netbooks/thinkpad-t-series-laptops/thinkpad-t44...The readme talks of security problems and says that downgrades from certain versions are not supported. I would be afraid you will end up with a system that will not start. What problem are you trying to solve?

Some time in 2015 Lenovo updated many of their BIOS versions to address a security vulnerability describe here:https://support.lenovo.com/br/en/product_security/s3_boot_protectFor my G50-45 notebook that says the first BIOS version containing this fix is 2.03 A2EC34WW 2015/03/23.My computer currently has the lastest - A2CN38WW(V2.06) date: 07/15/2015I think the newer BIOS versions have broken the suspend/sleep, hybernate, and wakeup funtionality of my computer when running Linux (my system is dual-boot Windows 10 and Ubuntu Linux).  Can I downgrade my BIOS version?  If I downgrade will Windows 10 still function properly? What is the minimum BIOS version I should use and where can I download it from?  It seems Lenovo only supplies the latest version.  The BIOS Readme file says that the version prior to A2EC34WW is  (A2CN26WW)1.08 2014/11/04 but this was before Windows 10 came out, so will it still work for Win10?

So i got the bios 2.18 upgrade installed automaticly which absolutely screwed up all my gaming fps to a nonplayable state.
Searched for a way to downgrade but it seemed hopeless.
But..

turns out u can install 2.09 right over 2.18 for no aparent reason this works (all others cant due to newer bios already in) and then upgrade 2.15 over it.

this fixed the fps right back to before acer screwed it

anyway thought i would mention it here since im sure many many others have the same issue i had and they just keep telling you to send it to the otherside of the planet for some &%¤# to do it for you in a couple of months or whatever

Hello,I have problems with my Y580 gpu (made a topic about it already) and am currently trying to work it out myself.Lenovo support provides 39 bios version, while i can see that my laptop has 40 version. I would like to know if it's possible to downgrade to the ones that lenovo provides (the executable doesn't seem to allow it)?

Answer:Y580 bios downgrade

Yesterday I posted "Y580 Windows 7 won't come out of Sleep FIXED SOLVED HOWTO"which explains how to do this. You have to edit a config file and then it does work.

Answer:Manual BIOS downgrade

Hi.I'm owner of an Aspire E1-572G and I am experiencing a fan-related problem, which is OS and Intel/AMD Graphics Driver independent, so I believe it's a BIOS problem and I want to downgrade it.I am trying to launch the BIOS updater exe but the "Bios version compare error" appears, so I want to downgrade it manually from a USB stick or a "trick" to downgrade it from the .exe Thanks in advance,Manos.

Hi all, I need to do a BIOS dowgrade my Dell 1545 A14 to A13 version, I searched information about how to do it but I get an error at the time of the downgrade, what I did was:1) Create a bootable usb boot2) Set the BIOS file to downgrade, here is 1545A13.exe3) Restart the computer and press f124) Choose boot from USB5) Run the file 1545A13.exe using / forceit or / forcetype. The file runs but get an error that says "ERROR. BIOS update canceled by the user"This is a picture of the mistake so well understood.

The Computrace is enabled and does not allow me to disable it in the BIOS, do not know if this will have anything to do, but attached a picture.

The error comes automatically because I did not press any keys. I would like to know what is this and how do I do to downgrade my BIOS since I'm doing everything correctly and I need to go back to one or more earlier. regards

Answer:I can not do downgrade BIOS 1545

Hi Jorwen,
May I know the reason you are trying to downgrade BIOS?
Dell doesnot recommend downgrading BIOS beacuse every BIOS update would have some new fixes and enhancements.
Refer the following link for more information about downgrading BIOS on the computer:
http://dell.to/14HF2IZ

During BIOS update verify that the computer is connected to an AC Adapter.
Disconnect any third party peripherals connected to the computer before performing BIOS update.
Do not turn off the computer during the BIOS update.
Do not restart the computer during the BIOS update.
Ensure battery charge is more than 30% during BIOS update.

Note: Plug your computer to a good, working wall jack before you update the BIOS. If you experience a loss of AC power or a significant voltage sag/spike during the BIOS flash, you will either have to buy a new BIOS chip or buy a new motherboard.
Awaiting your response!

Answer:bios error 1283, wrong bios installed... i think.

It would either need to boot far enough to load the new BIOS via floppy/USB, or the BIOS chip would need to be removed and flashed.

I have the same problem. Latest BIOS version for my notebook is 1.3 but on my is 1.4 installed?! Notebook is 10 days and I can?t work with it.

We have few C660 (PSC0LE) we bought tham on same day and they all have 1.3 and are working perfect. Only my is BIOS 1.4 version and it?s not good at all.

Please my question is how can I flash BIOS with 1.3?

Answer:Satellite C660 - How to downgrade the BIOS?

Hello

Why you have created an additional thread about BIOS? I mean this can be discussed in your other thread too.

Anyway: BIOS downgrade is not possible and can only be done from an authorized service provider in your country. On Toshiba website only the newest version is available so a downgrade is not possible.

Answer:Aspire V3-772G. BIOS downgrade

Yes you can downgrade your bios, look at this topic:http://community.acer.com/t5/Notebooks-Netbooks/Aspire-v3-772g-driver-issues/td-p/127713/page/2  The solution for downgrading the BIOS is as follow.  Unpack the VA70V108.exe with something like WinRar or 7-Zip and then in the platform.ini find "[Bios_Version_Check]" and change "flag=1" to "flag=0" after that save the ini file and run the InsydeFlash.exe as administrator. Thats how I have downgraded my BIOS.
