I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Answer: Blue screen error while trying to install windows server 2003 in Lenovo G500s essentials Notebook

Hello and welcome,

The Google says that error means "INACCESSIBLE_BOOT_DEVICE"

You could try going to BIOS and setting the HDD mode to "compatibility".

My Dell is a new P4 2.8ghz and 256mb ram server. Windows 2003 server OS.

I'm using freeaspupload script to allow user upload file to my server. It gives me a big blue error screen and reboot itself whenever someone is trying to upload a file.

I have tested upload script at http://www.freeaspupload.net
and it works fine. But it doesn't work on my server.

Source: System Error
Category: 102
EventID: 1003

I installed all the drivers on the Dell smoothly. No hardware device conflict issues, no driver issues.
Except the blue error screen is still here.

Blue Screen:
"An attempt was made try to write to a read-only memory, the prevent damage to your computer, the computer is shutting down.....

Teefer.sys.....
Dumping physical memory...
Countdown 1,2,3,4....69...etc"

Then the server reboots itself.
The error stop:
0x0000000be (0xf857c5ac, 0x06c94121, 0xf9a31cac, 0x0000000b)

Error signature:
BCCode: be
BCP1: F857C5AC
BCP2: 06C94121
BCP3: F9A31CAC
BCP4: 0000000B
OSVer: 5_2_3790
SP:0_0
Product: 274_3

Could anyone pinpoint the problem?

I'm pulling my hairs out again.

Before I explain my problem, I will list some of the hardware I am working with.

Code:
MOTHERBOARD: Gigabyte GA-970A-D3
SATA PORT 0: Kingston SSDNow V100 Series SV100S2/64GZ 2.5" 64GB SATA II Internal Solid State Drive (SSD)
SATA PORT 1: Zalman S Series SSD0064S1 2.5" 64GB USB 2.0 & SATAII MLC Internal / External Solid State Drive (SSD)
SATA PORT 2: ASUS DRW-24B1ST/BLK/B/AS (CD/DVD DRIVE)
So what I am trying to do is to do a clean install of Windows 7 64-bit Ultimate on a RAID 0 setup between the two SSD's. I set up the RAID array in the BIOS already and have downloaded the driver onto a USB drive so Windows is able to detect the 125GB array during installation.
What happens is it gets all the way through the initial installation then my system reboots and Windows begins to start up (I can see the Windows 7 icon begin to form on the screen during startup) and it gets abruptly interrupted by a blue screen error (shown below).

These are the steps I've already taken:
- Separated drives into 2 individual ACHI drives, re-formatted to NTFS, then rebuilt RAID array.
- Ran CHKDSK on RAID array drive (no problems found)
- Removed/re-seated RAM
- Re-seated power and data cables to hard drives

Does anyone else have any suggestions I might try?

Answer:7b blue screen error during Windows 7 install

OK, so I just went for another re-install attempt and realized something I missed previously - the RAID driver I was using (D:\BootDrv\SBxxxW7\RAID\W7\ahcix86s.inf) was probably meant for 32-bit installations, so I attempted to load the 64-bit version of the driver (D:\BootDrv\SBxxxW7\RAID\W764A\ahcix64s.inf), but I get a message saying "No device drivers were found. Make sure that the installation media contains the correct drivers, and click OK."
So far it seems only the x86 driver version works...

We have an important LOB application (QuickBooks 2018) that requires that requires Internet Explorer 11 for QB to operate correctly.  Unfortunately our server runs Windows Server 2012 Essentials as an operating system (not R2).  From reviewing
various Microsoft documents, I realize that IE 11 is not supported on Server 2012.  However, we need to be able to run QuickBooks, which requires that version of IE.  Upgrading the server OS to 2012 R2 would take hours, because there is no in-place
upgrade option.  We would have to reinstall and configure the OS again from scratch.
Is there anything we can do to resolve this problem?
Thanks for any assistance you can offer.

Kingston ValueRAM PC2-4200 1GB 2X512MB DDR2-533
Intel Pentium 4 630 3.0GHZ LGA775 800FSB Prescott 2MB Cache
ASUS P5LD2 ATX LGA775 I945P DDR2 PCI-E16

I'm also using the following parts from my previous system:

Western Digital 80GB ATA100 hard drive
LG 52X CDRW

So I put everything together and the system powers on and goes through POST ok. When I put the Windows XP CD in and boot off it, it reads the CD and loads everything it needs to. Right when it finishes loading everything, I get the fatal error blue screen saying that Windows has halted due to a fatal error and to protect my hardware from being damaged or something like that.

Can anyone tell me how to fix this? Thanks in advance for your help.

this can be quite possibly due to a memory error. You aren't overclocking, are you?

I have a print server running 2003 standard sp2, I have been looking for a way to allow helpdesk staff install and manage printers without logging into the server and without adding them to the admin group.

So I added them to the power users group and the print operators group, that worked fine they were able to UNC ( \\servername ) to the server and install printers, drivers, as well as uninstall drivers? printers ect????.
Now the problem??? this works great from an XP box, but when we try it from a windows 7 machine we get access denied. More specifically it acts like it is going to install the printer then when it comes to the driver installation part it fails ?Printer driver was not installed. Access is denied.?

No changes have been made to the permissions I can log into an XP machine with my profile and it works fine log out go to a Windows 7 machine use the same credentials and I get the above message access is denied. I am an admin of both machines on the windows 7 machine I have UAC turned off completely. Running XP Pro SP3 & Windows 7 pro both are 32 bit machines.

I should also add that I have made the necessary group policy changes to allow printer operators to Load/Unload device drivers and under the local policies/security options I ensured that the Prevent users from installing printer drivers was Disabled.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Answer:Windows 7 & 2003 Server Standard SP2 Unable to remotely install driver on print server

How do you enter the credentials on the Windows 7 machine? I've noticed that you have to use "domain\username" rather than just the username in some cases.

Answer:Install WIndows 2003 Server, Sql Server and DotNet

Your hardware is enough to realise this project. No hardware limitations are in 2003 server, but you must realise, that server components are specially desighned to work 24/7/365 and that is why they are so expensive. Anyway, a server may be based even on pentium pro 100 MHz. As far as I know, XP/2003 drivers are compatible. XP drivers for your notebook are here.

This must be kind of common as I see a lot on this issue, but unfortunately not much on a fix.
Anyways I'm on a path to MCSA so I need to do labs on Server 2003 from time to time. I use virtual PC 2007 to make virtual machines of XP Clients and an Enterprise Server 2003. hello good people i surely do need ure expertise nw. My acerpower F5 gives a blue screen while trying to install windows xp on my machine.i have read on the net tht i should change from AHCP to IDE mode problem is i cant find this on my bios. someone please guide me on the steps to use

Answer:unable to install windows xp on Acerpower F5:blue screen error occurs

If you truly don't have that option in the BIOS, you'll need to provide AHCI drivers during setup.
These are the drivers you need: SATA_ULi_6.1.0.3_XPx86.zip
If you have a floppy drive then put just extract the files unto a blank floppy. Then during the very first part of setup, press F6 when you see the F6 prompt.
If you don't have a floppy drive, you will need to slipstream the files using nLite.
http://www.komku.org/2007/11/integrate-driver-into-windows.html

If you use nLite, you should slipstream the rest of the drivers. http://global-download.acer.com/Step5.aspx?Step1=Desktop%2C%20Workstation&Step2=AcerPower&Step3=AcerPower%20F5&BC=Acer&SC=PA_6&LC=en&OS=Windows%C2%AE%20XP%2032-bit&FS=O01&Category=Driver

There has been a problem with my lenovo screen. Every time i tilt the screen past 90 degrees all white (or most of it) turns to cyan blue. it reverts back to white when i tilt it back. The problem has gotten worst over the past few months though, not being able to tilt it past 70 degrees without the white on a screen turning cyan blue. i dont have a warrenty anymore so i can send it to lenovo to fix and i was thinking of fixing it if the parts are cheap but i have no idea if the problem is the actuall Lcd itself or the Lcd cord or anything around it. They are no black patches in my screen And my software is all clean and updated, i also checked my lcd to see if they were any lose cords.

I have a g500s touch.I have had this computer for about 8 months. It randomly gets stuck at the lenovo boot screen.Sometimes it takes 50 reboot tries get it to turn on.  I usually dont put it in sleep mode but turn it off everytime because it now does it every time I put it in sleep(by just closing the laptop). Now it is doing it even when I try to turn it on. I have taken the battery out and held down the power button to no avail.  this time I unpluged it and put the battery back in and then it turned on.

I have a g500s which runs with Win7. Last month it got stuck in the logo screen i tried the flee-power process but it did not work so i took it to the service center and they said they have to change the keypad since it was causing the issue, my laptop is still in warranty so i got it changed for free. i could use the laptop without any issue for one week. and the problem starts again and this is really getting annoying. when i press ctrl+alt+del it restarts thats the only thing i can do, and the recovery key doesn't work.i have tried the flee power.

Answer:G500S Stuck in Lenovo Logo Screen

hi lipokjmr,

Welcome to Lenovo Community Forums!

If the system get's stuck in the Lenovo Screen,
It means that a hardware cannot be initialized.

Since the system is still under Warranty I suggest you call Lenovo Technical Support and Report that the problem showed up again, they may look for other Parts that is causing the Issue or it may be a diff Part Failing.

Hi Everyone,I've searched for the answer and tried the suggestions but mine seems unique (everyone seems to say that !).My Levovo G500s froze, so I turned it off and now I get a black screen with the grey taskbar/toolbar across the bottom (but its empty). The screen works perfectly at sign in but as soon as it loads (windows ?) after sign in, the screen is black with a grey taskbar at the bottom and nothing seems to work. After reading a little, I've tried:> Plugging into my TV - The same black screen with the blank taskbar appears but again works perfect at sign in stage.> Unplug from the mains, take out battery and hold finger on the off button for a min of 30 secs - To be honest, not sure if this was a wind up when I read it but had nothing to loose. Doesn't workI use the laptop for my studying and I have an exam soon, bad timing :-(Greatly appreciated if anyone could help ?Cheers

Answer:Lenovo G500S - Black screen after sign in !!

hi pezza1979,

Welcome to the Forums.

Your issue might be similar to this thread.

Can you try the following:
1. Follow this guide on how to enable Legacy Safe Mode
2. When done, try to boot the machine in Safe Mode. If everything's working fine on Safe Mode, perform a clean boot and observe the machine in normal mode.

If same problem, try to disable graphics switching:
3. Boot into the BIOS by pressing F2 on bootup or by pressing the OneKey Recovery button > BIOS Setup
4. In the BIOS, navigate to the Configuration Tab and set Switchable Graphics to UMA Only.

Let me know how it goes.

Hi

Would very much appreciate some assistance in fixing my daughter's Dell Latitude D400 notebook.

A week or so ago, she told me she tried to start it (had been working fine previously) and got a blue screen of death on start up. I've tried since with the same result which is a Stop: c000021a (fatal system error) code.

Unfortunately I'm not 100% sure which version of XP this is running as it is the version which came with it when it was bought although I know thet it regularly picks up automatic updates so should be fairly well up to date in that respect.

I read the MS article on this error code and tried rebooting with last known good configuration but just get the same result.

The notebook has no CD drive and therefore came with no recovery disks, etc.

Any help/advice much appreciated.

Barry

Answer:Notebook fails to start up - blue screen - Stop C000021a error

Hello Barry

Not so good that you don`t have a CD drive.

Try a System Restore from Safe Mode
Boot into Safe Mode Options Screen (the one with Last Known Good Configuration on it) by pressing F8 at bootup and choose
'Safe mode with command prompt'

At the command prompt type
C:\Windows\system32\restore\rstrui.exe

Hopefully this will open System Restore, so restore to before the problem started

I tried to install Windows Movie Maker and photo gallery 2012 this morning. Movie Maker 2012 did not work (I still don't know why), but since Windows Live Essentials 2011 was in my updates, I uninstalled 2012 moviemaker and photo gallery and tried to update with 2011.

Now it says that I have an earlier version of Windows Essentials installed, Error 80280007, and i have to uninstall those programs.

I can't find where those "newer" programs are on my computer. I uninstalled them from the programs list and deleted all the cache folders out of my App Data. I've restarted my computer, but nothing works. It still gives me the same error message.

what's going on?

Hi,

Welcome to Lenovo Community Forums!

I?m sorry to hear that the On-Screen Indicators, Webcam are not working as expected in your G500s as the computer is compatible with Windows 8 and not Windows 7 OS (Operating System), and drivers are not available for Windows 7, installing the Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor will check all the compatibility with the Hardware & Software that is installed in the computer and G500 Laptop comes with 6 Cell battery.

I have a Lenovo G500S touch that I've had for a year and a half and I've had to replace the hard drive. I did it correctly, yet on start up I just get a black flashing screen. The lenovo logo will show up and then it'll start flashing and won't go any further. I've even pressed F12 to make sure it's booting the correct drive. I'm not sure what to do at this point as it's frustrating to keep using my smartphone as my computer. Recently, a computer tech here in town put in an old hard drive of his that's meant for Windows 7 or earlier and my computer read that just fine, so I know it's not the computer but the hard drive that was bad. Could the NEW hard drive I just bought be total junk? Does anybody have a fix or know what I've done wrong/could do right in order to fix this problem? I'd really love to get my laptop up and running again so I can install the operating system.

Page #56 of model's Hardware Maintenance Manual will show the location of the LCD cable where it plugs into the motherboard.  The manual will further illustrate and explain how to disassemble your laptop.  The link below is for your model's Hardware Maintenance Manual. When working inside your system please follow all precautions and recommendations that are noted in the manual.

As far as videos, the Lenovo Training Video library is currently down for maintenance so I'm able to see if there is anything related to your model there.  An alternative would be for you to search on Youtube as there are a lot of G500s repair videos available for viewing.

We are running a Windows 2003 server, SP1 and are unable to update to SP2.

We have downloaded WindowsServer2003-KB914961-SP2-x86-ENU.exe from the Microsoft website, and the executable will extract the files into a temporary directory on the server. When this process has finished instead of the install kicking off the dialogue box closes and the temporary directory disappears.

There are no events logged in the event viewer.

We have noticed that the Service Pack files are being extracted to E:\ instead of C:\ where the operating system and SP2 executable are.

The environment variables are all pointing to c:\ and we are logged on using a local admin account.

Answer:Windows 2003 Server SP2 won't install

I'm not too sure what you mean by "Destination folder". The file was downloaded and saved to the hard drive and then launched. There is no executable in the extracted files.

I think the issue must be with the server itself as we are also unable to run the update using the windows update tool. The update fails almost immediately and the error code recorded is 0x80242000.

is there a way to forcefully install ie 7 on windows 2003 with no service packs.

i am trying to install ie 7 on windows 2003 server. however, it requires an instalation of a service pack which takes up 300 megs of space. the problem is, i am dealing with a tiny hardrive, and cant afford that space.

Answer:install ie 7 on windows 2003 server

If it needs SP1, there's probably a reason for it. SP1 probably only needs that much space for the unpacking of the install files. I would definitely consider upgrading to SP1 on a server.

Can I install the G500s BIOS on G500s Touch? Will it cause any problem? I want to update the BIOS because right now, if I want to press F1 I have to hold down FN and F1 which sucks for gaming and normal usage. I have noticed that the G500s model has received an update that enables users to make the F1 key the "real F1 key". However, when I check the G500s Touch page, there is no update for it. I don't want to use that thing called "SharpKeys" to remap my keys. I don't want any 3rd-party program installed on my laptop just to fix my F1-F12 buttons, therefore, I want to know if it is safe to do. Thanks.

Our best advice to you is to immediately take it back to where you have purchased it and have them fix it. It is under warrenty and this is their issue, not yours though you have to suffer with it.

I was trying to install a windows 203 server on a desktop, which use a P4VMM2 motherboard. Although I have tried different ways to install it, all failed.

(1). First, I tried to install Windows 2003 Server by updating from the existing Windows 2000 installed in that PC, failed.

Error message displayed:
-------------------------------------
Setup was unable to verify drive C:.
Your computer may not have enough memory to examine the drives or your
windows CD contain some corrupted files.
-------------------------------------

(2). Then, I formatted the hard disk, and tried to install Windows 2003 Server directly from CD-ROM, failed. The system halted after loading some files.

(3). Last, I installed a fresh Windows 2000 Server in that computer, then tried to update it to Windows 2003 Server, failed again. Error message is the same as the one showed in the first attempt.

I have tried more than once for each of the above three methods, all failed with the same problem.

I checked Microsoft website with the error message got during the installation process, the following are the possible reasons:
--------------------------------------
(a) The motherboard of your computer may not be compatible with Windows.
(b) The BIOS of your computer may not be compatible with Windows.
(c) The hard disk you are installing to may be damaged.
(d) The Windows Setup CD may be damaged.

(c) and (d) are not very possible, since I checked the hard disk, and the CD-ROM, ... Read more

I'm working on a friends laptop that currently has the Windows Server 2003 -Enterprise Edition operating system installed. The specs for the are as follows:

IBM Thinkpad
Pentium 3 700 mhz Processor
13 GB Hard Drive
256 MB RAM

I want to remove Windows Server 2003 and perform a clean install of Windows XP. When i try installing XP it doesn't allow me to proceed and the continue install button comes out blank. Moreover, for some reason it does not allow me to boot from the disk eventhough i changed the settings on the BIOS. Can anyone provide me with the steps on how to override Windows Server 2003 so that i may install XP.

Answer:Removing windows server 2003 and install XP

Once you set your BIOS to boot first from cd . . when it restarts you will see a black screen with a prompt "Press any key to boot from CD" . . do that and you will be able to delete partitions and recreate the ones you want and proceed to formating and installing XP

That message can pass quickly, so have a finger on the keyboard when you boot. This will delete all data on the drive so be sure you have your important data backed up.

Hi,
I have vista home edition and I want to remove it and install Windows 2003server. I followed the steps:

1. Insert the installation cd for 2003 server and run the exe file. It gives a message that the file cannot be run in the program compatibility mode. If I remove the compatibity option from the properties of the .exe file, the option to install is disabled.

2. Then I tried booting the system from the cd. It runs ok for a while and then throws an error message (blue screen, hope most of you might have seen that atleast once in your lifetime) comes up which has a very long text. Here it goes.

"The problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer. If this is the first time you have seen this stop the error message, restart your computer. If this screen appears again, follow these steps:

Check for viruses on your computer. Remove any newly installed hard drives on hard drive controllers. Check your hard drive to make sure it is properly configured and terminated. Run CHKDSK /F to check for hard drive corruption, and then restart your computer.

Technical Information:

STOP: 0x0000007B (0xF789EA94, oxC0000034, 0x00000000, 0x00000000)"
End of message.

I checked everything listed above. Everything looks good. can anyone suggest any other methods of installing 2003 server over vista or any solution to the error message above. Thank you.

Answer:Install Windows 2003 Server over Vista

I may not be of much help since I am trying to do the same thing as you. I purchased an HP a64000z, slated to be a computer lab "mule". Came with Vista Basic. I knew better not to attempt to install over Vista directly.

Here are the issues to overcome:
First thing is to obtain the SATA drivers for the motherboard. This is needed for W2003S to be able to recognize the HDD. Vista has the driver, but it's no help when you install a new OS. I am looking for the drivers and will post back when I have some info.

Windows 2003S may have an issue installing SATA drivers if a floppy drive is not present (go figure!). So it might be prudent to install a loose floppy drive just in case before attempting anything.

The best solution might be to create an install CD containing the SATA drivers and update the .INF file to tell W2003S where to find them, but this is kinda involved and I'm trying to stay out of that one.

In any case, good luck and please let me know what you find out, I'll do the same.

Answer:problem in installing windows 2003 server in lenovo ideapad Y510 7758-44Q

Hi shivendra,Although I m not a guru for giving suggestion on the lenovo products problem solving platform but what I want to share with you is that I have installed windows server 2003 and using very effectively. First download all the windows XP drivers from the lenovo site which is provided for your model. and when ready then follow some instructions :1. update BIOS according to instruction provided. it is necessary to update BIOS because if u will not update then you will not be able to adjust fn + up and down keys to adjust system brightness..so my advice is to first update BIOS.2. go to BIOS - change AHCI to compatibility mode3. install windows 2003 server4. install all the drivers of windows XP in the same order as windows vista.5. you will be able to install all the drivers without any problem except graphics driver. so to install graphics driver follow certain things.. run the graphics driver that you have downloaded - by default it will be extracted in c:\drivers  folder...then go to device manager by either through typing at run prompt the command: devmgmt.msc or through right clicking my computer-hardware-device manager - go to display adaptors - right click the default adapter - select update driver - select the driver location -select the extracted graphics folder such as c:\drivers\graphics driver\graphics--and click install...hopefully all the drivers will be installed without any problem...have a good luck...

Ive had experience in creating VM's before, I've currently got a whole virtual network going, and I need this server for my university project.

The iso file is correctly linked so I do not understand what the issue is.

If it helps, this is where I got the iso file from: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/down...ils.aspx?id=41

Thanks

How do you install 64 bit print drivers on a 32 bit 2003 server

Hi,

We're rolling out Windows 7 64 Bit. We currently run 32 bit 2003 Server. I have been able to install about half of the 7 64 bit drivers, but am running into issues with others. The universal drivers do not work. We are running HP, Xerox and Dell printers. The error I am seeing is. 'The specified driver must be installed remotely from a x64 running Windows XP or Windows server 2003.' I cannot get it to work. Any ideas?

Thanks.

I am trying to figure out how to enter my cals into my Windows 2003 server. The machine is a rebuild of a machine that broke. These TS CALS will be used for multiple users to login to the server remotely. I get this message when I go to the terminal server licensing window.

"No Termnial Server license is availible in the current domain or workgroup. To connect to another license server, click Action, click Connect, and then type the server name."

Any ideas?

I have "Terminal Services" installed on this server but still having issues.

Thank you

Answer:Oracle VirtualBox won't install Windows Server 2003

That is not a download for Server 2003 itself, just SP2 for Server 2003.

You can download a 180 day trial version of Server 2008 R2 here:
https://www.microsoft.com/en-ca/down....aspx?id=11093

That is 64 bit only.

Microsoft isn't going to provide a trial version for an OS that is beyond extended support.

Hi, I have bought a new lenovo G580 (Intel B950/2GB/500GB) with DOS (on Friday - 21 Spetember, 2012).I have installed another 2GB RAM in the extra slot. So, I have a total of 2+2 GB RAM now.I installed Windows7 in it. It has worked fine for 1 day, but when I installed the G580 bluetooth, wifi drivers, it started crashing with bluescreen creating a dump file. Now I am even unable to start the system. I have formatted the system twice by could not trace it out. I have seen other forums and found out that it is due to some dropbox issues etc., But I have not installed even 1 software. As soon as I installed windows7, I started with the drivers (Drivers DVD came along with my laptop) Please help me. Thanks & Regards,Sudheer K

Answer:My New Lenovo G580 - Blue Screen Error

Hi Sudheer,

If you are able to open windows go to

Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Performance Information and Tools\Advanced Tools and select the last option to "generate system health report" .If something is wrong with the system or a service windows will flag it for you. If you are not able to open windows and try opening it in the safe mode(press F8 during startup) check for the same.

Also try opening windows in a clean state

In the System Configuration Utility dialog box, click Selective Startup on the General tab.
Click to clear the Load Startup Items check box.
Note The Use Original Boot.ini check box is unavailable.

Click the Services tab.
Click to select the Hide All Microsoft Services check box.
Click Disable All, and then click OK.
When you are prompted, click Restart.

If this does not cause a BSOD then I would suspect there is a driver conflict/compatiablity in your system. Can you provide the exact error in the BSOD which you see?

Hope this helps

Answer:lenovo y570 blue screen error

This is very strange and probably some registry errors due to a bad install or bad / otudated drivers are causing this If you are fine with installing windows / drivers on your own, then follow this guide: http://forums.pctweakers.net/showthread.php/62-Lenovo-IdeaPad-Y570-Clean-Install-Guide  Please note that with this guide you may lose the recovery partition, I personally delete the recovery partition as soon as I get the laptop as I don't want none of the bloatware that the manufacturer installs and I want a clean Windows witha clean registry so I can install the latest drivers on my own and have better performance.  Option 2, if you don't want to do this on your own, then take it to Lenovo but you will have to wait till they fix the issue and you probably will get that same laptop with the same bloatware / outdated drivers I would try to stick to option 1 in my guide, it has step by step instructions with the latest drivers that have been extensively tested to work and give the best performance by me. Before you do anything, try installing Wise Registry Cleaner from my forums here in this thread: http://forums.pctweakers.net/showthread.php/76-Wise-Registry-Cleaner Then run it, and clean your registry, then see if the issue is fixed. If not, then you will have to do one of the above Good luck

Answer:Lenovo G 500s blue screen error

Hi Manoj,

Welcome to Lenovo Community Forums!

I?m sorry to hear that your G500s Laptop is displaying BSOD (Blue Screen of Death) error, below are their answers:

Click here to open the link for the cause and the troubleshooting steps for driver_power_state_failure error.
If the result of "SMART short self-test" returns an error code, the hard drive has indeed failed or is about to. Then you may want to do a repair or have a new hard disk.

NOTE: Take a backup of all your data while the hard drive can still be accessed and contact Lenovo Technical support if you are under warranty.

Click here to open a link where you can select the country and get the exact contact support number. I?m sure they will be a great help..

Do post us back for further queries.

I recently purchased a Samsung 840EVO 250G SSD hard driver and made it as my main system drive. I installed Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit on the SSD. However, after I installed Lenovo Energy Management Windows 7, it prompted me a message telling me to restart the PC. When I do so, the computer wouldn't able to boot again. A flash of a blue screen showed up after the Windows 7 logo done and the computer rebooted again; and it keep looping and looping. I am able to fix the blue screen by system restoring. However, the Lenovo Energy Management was still not installed. I'm just wondering, has anyone encountered this problem before, and what are the solutions of fixing this problem. Thank you.

Hey there, I hope you guys can help me.

I have a Dell XPS M1210 Notebook computer running Windows Media Center Service Pack 2 . I'm on a different computer now because I can't get that one to work properly.

It seems that everything is just hosed and I just want to reinstall Windows. It won't boot up to either regular mode or safe mode - it just blue screens on me. I can't run any of the repair utilities because when I load the Windows CD in the onboard cd drive, it only gets as far as loading all the files and then it blue screens on me every time. For that same reason I can't reinstall Windows.

I ran ERD commander but for some reason it thinks the XP Media Center installation is an NT Workstation edition, and it doesn't support that. I was, however, able to use ERD to get all of my files transferred onto an external drive, so at least I'm not losing anything.

But the problem is the Windows install disk only gets so far and then it blue screens. This has happened before when I was working on a desktop computer, and all I had to do was swap in a better CD Rom drive and it installed windows just fine. The CD Rom drive on this laptop makes weird noises. I think its the same reason it doesn't see the proper installation when I run ERD. But this is a notebook computer. I don't think it's an option to use another CD drive. I have an external USB CD Rom drive that I plugged in, but BIOS wouldn't see the drive, and so I couldn't boot to it. Bought a HP dvt-1000 notebook with Vista last month and i wanted to remove Vista and install Windows server 2003 on it.

So I slipstreamed the Win Server 2003 CD with SATA drivers and ran the Win Server 2003 set-up program. Followed through the installation prompts and on the option of selecting a partition to install, selected the C partition (where Vista was installed). Next selected the QuickFormat option. The installation program shutdown the notebook and after that when the notebook was booting up it is hung up on the hp logo screen. The notebook wont go beyong the HP logo screen. If I press F10 then on the same screen the message at the bottom is "F10...BIOS Setup Options" and there is a beep. Tried pressing the Esc key but just a beep sound.

How do I get beyond the HP logo screen on my notebook? Appreciate the help..

Currently, I have XP Home installed on my Dimension 8400 with 160gb SATA hard drive.  I wanted to upgrade to Windows 2003 Server.  I was going to do a fresh install.  The setup for 2003 said it cannot see any hard disks.  I assume this has something to do with the SATA hard drive...  I need to know how to get the setup to see my hard drive.  Server 2003 didn't work, so I put the XP Pro cd I have in to see if it could see the hard drive, and same result.

What can I do to get the setup to see my hard drive?  Is it a configuration in the Bios?  It is set to auto recognize the drive...

Thanks in advance!

Answer:Windows Server 2003 install cannot see my SATA hard drive

You need the SATA drivers on a floppy.  Look in the downloads section for the drivers.  Windows setup asks if you need to add a SCSI driver.  When it asks, press F6 with the driver floppy in.

Read more

Hello, We are experiencing multiple BSODs on our new Lenovo m900z All-In-One PCs.  The bug check string is "RDR_FILE_SYSTEM" with bug check code of 0x00000027.  According to BlueScreenView, the files that caused it are mup.sys+967b, ntoskrnl.exe+9bcb4, and rdbss.sys+11ec2.  We have tried backing up to a restore point, updating our drivers, and running onboard diagnostics.   I also updated the audio driver and ran the driver verifier, which eventually gave this blue screen: https://1drv.ms/u/s!AgklKEiGo3kga7nmlmLNHISLFZo.  Using BlueScreenView, I found that it was citing the Intel USB 3.0 extensible host controller driver as the cause of the BSOD.  I uninstalled that driver and reinstalled directly from Lenovo's website.  However, we are still getting BSODs. I also ran a full diagnostics scan, but no hardware failures were found. Any help is greatly appreciated.  Thank you!Original minidump file:  https://www.mediafire.com/?8si7fu04ri15j76System Information:  http://www.mediafire.com/file/7vy2t85jbzuurgl/SystemInfo409.txtDriver View: http://www.mediafire.com/file/d7t3haw390j5k9e/RTA409DriverView.txt

Hi,

I have a set of 5 machines - 2 desktops (one being a thin client and the other to function as a 'server' ) and 3 notebooks. I was wondering what was the difference b/w the 2 versions Windows Server 2003 and Windows Small Business Server 2003. Is it true one cannot use a thin client but need a regular cpu setup to use Small Business Server 2003 ?

There is a difference in costs and since i have windows 2000 on the desktops and xp on the notebooks wondered if i needed to shell out so much more $$ for the Windows Server 2003 . I plan to put in a wireless networking system to link all the 5 machines.

Thanks in advance for any and all advise.

Answer:Solved: Difference b/w Windows Server 2003 and Small Business Server 2003

Windows Server 2003 for Small Business Server has the following restrictions:
- Only one computer in a domain can be running Windows Server 2003 for Small Business Server.
- Windows Server 2003 for Small Business Server must be the root of the Active Directory® forest.
- Windows Server 2003 for Small Business Server cannot trust any other domains.
- A Windows Server 2003 for Small Business Server domain cannot have any child domains.
- Each additional server must have a Windows Small Business Server 2003 client access license (CAL). You can use CALs for each user or for each device.
The standard edition of Windows Small Business Server 2003 includes Windows Server 2003 technologies, including fax service, firewall service, and remote-access service. Additionally, it includes Microsoft Exchange Server 2003, enhanced tools for server monitoring and administration, and an out-of-the-box solution for internal Web sites. The standard edition is ideal for customers who do not require the higher-level functionality included in the premium edition

The premium edition includes everything in the standard edition, plus Microsoft SQL Server 2000, Microsoft Internet Security and Acceleration (ISA) Server 2000, and Microsoft FrontPage® 2003. The premium edition is ideal for small businesses with more demanding IT needs, such as data-intensive line-of-business applications, or advanced firewall and Web-caching capabilities

The standard edition has most of the stuffs inside.

Answer:How to set up bios for Windows 8 on Lenovo G500s

hi tora117,

Can you set the following in the BIOS (if applicable):

Security Tab:
Secure Boot = Disabled

Exit Tab:
OS Optimized Defaults = Disabled or Other OS

When done, press F10 to save and exit, Once the lenovo screen pops up, press F12 and choose the DVD to boot from the Windows 8 installation disc. If this doesn't work, your installation media is not a UEFI Windows 8 installer. To fix it, you will need to do one of the following:

1. Set UEFI to Legacy / Disabled in the BIOS (this will install Windows 8 in legacy/compatibility mode)
2. Create a bootable UEFI Windows 8 USB flashdrive (see this guide)

Let me know how it goes.

I have a Dell 8300 with 1.2G Ram and 30G HD. I want to change the OS from Windows XP Home to Windows Server 2003. I have started the installation and the screen is on the one showing the existing partition and unpartitoned space on the computer:

29322 MB Disk 0 at Id 0 on bus 0 on atapi [MBR]

-: Partition1 [FAT] 31 MB < 24 MB free >
C: Partition2 [NTFS] 29298 MB < 24985 MB free >

Should I delete both partitions? I want the hard drive as clean as possible. I plan to try many of the services such as IIS. I will install SQL Server 2000, Visual Studio 2003 .NET. I probably will buy another hard drive (80G or more) as a second drive later on. For now, how should I partition the 30G HD?
Thank you for any suggestion.

When it is turned on, it shows Your PC needs to be repaired A required device isn't connected or can't accessed error code 0xc000000f You'll need to use recovery tools on your installation media. If you don't have any installation media like a DISC or USB device, contact your system administrator or PC manufacturer.

hi donna2009,

Welcome to the Forums.

If you're running on Windows 7, try to  create a Windows 7 System Repair Disc on another machine and use it to repair the bootloader. If the repair doesn't work, try to perform a system restore.

If you're running on Windows 8, try to create a recovery drive on another machine to repair the PC. If you don't have another PC, try to Interrupt the loading of Windows 8 to enter push-button reset mode (this is like a recovery environment to restore the pc fromr previous working state). To do this, hold the power button while Windows 8 is loading up (you need to do this twice). If successful, you'll see this screen:

Click on Troubleshoot and from here, you can:
a. boot into Last Known Good Configuration
b. boot into Safe Mode, If everything's ok, try to restart the computer in normal mode and observe
c. do a System Restore
d  refresh your Windows 8 PC  or reset windows 8 (note that this will wipe the computer clean)

Hope this helps

My windows 2003 server screen goes off after every 30-45 seconds and closes all the open application. I have scanned for antivirus with latest virus definition and I have tried other brands of antivirus other than one installed on the server, but there is no virus in it. Even I have tried sfc, but problem still persists. I cannot format this server since it’s a PDC. Can any one help me to resolve.

Hello Lenovo Forum To upgrade my Lenovo G500s (model 20245) I bought a new RAM kit from Amazon and installed it.It's this one:http://www.amazon.de/Corsair-CMSX8GX3M2B1600C9-Vengeance-2x4GB-1600Mhz/dp/B00EXBUW7I/ref=sr_1_10?ie=...I know it says it's DDR3 RAM, but the voltage is 1.35V, like it is needed by the Laptop. The Laptop booted without problems and the RAM is detected in BIOS, windows general information and CPUz (Dual Channel, 1.35V all fine). By running the Hardware Scan of the Lenovo Solution Center (version 2.8.007) for a quick check of my new RAM unfortunately the "Quick random pattern test" failed, producing the following result code: WME800800-HL9Y7D Googling this code didn't help at all.Can you give me a hint what this code means? Does the memory is damaged? Until now I didn't test any applications (benchmark / games), will try some tomorrow.  Information about the Laptop: (mainly taken from CPUz)Lenovo G500sChipset: Intel Ivy Bridge Rev. 09Southbridge: Intel HM76 Rev. 04 BIOS: 7BCN36WW (V 2.02)--> btw. Answer:Lenovo G500s, after RAM upgrade error code in solution center hardware scan WME800800-HL9Y7D

If the BIOS is properly recognizing the memory, Windows is also recognizing the memory and the computer is running fine then I wouldn't worry.  The error in the Lenovo Solution Center maybe a false error due to the difference in the latency of the new modules.  The new memory is CL=9 where as the typical memory for your model would be CL=11.

If you are still concerned about the new memory then I would run MemTest on them.  That utility would give you a better indication of how the new memory is working in your system.  Here is a link to the freeware version....

"Symbolic Name: MCA_WARNING_UNKNOWN_NO_CPU
Message: Machine Check Event reported is a corrected error"

NOw the computer doesnt die on me or anything but programs tend to jump back into Windows (unless I I run a windowed mode ofcourse, then I just get the message). I can run Prime95 and Memtest86 without any problems except the message.

Searching at MS Support I find this:

"RESOLUTION
To resolve this issue, you must read the data at the bottom of the event ID to determine the number of the CPU that reported the Machine Check Architecture exception. For example, event ID 107 may contain the following data:

0000: 01 00 00 00 01 00 00 00 ........
0008: 4a d3 bd a4 be b4 c4 01 JÓ½¤¾´Ä.
0010: 02 00 00 00 00 00 00 00

The offset 0010 reveals the number of the CPU that reported the Machine Check Architecture exception. In this example, the CPU that caused the exception is CPU number 2."
In my case it says
"0010: 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00" which would mean its cpu 0...I dont get it, whats wrong with my system?

Thanks in advance

I've been fighting with windows 2003 serverm, standard edition for the last 3 days at work and I keep getting this....odd error.

I am installing a legal copy that work bought on a HP Proliant DL320 g2 server.

the server:
1 Gig ram, 2.2 gig, single processor with 2 Maxtor 80 gig hard drives setup in an onboard raid 1+2 configuration.

I insert the win 2003 CD and boot from the CD. It begins loading the set up files and then 1 of 2 things has been happeneing.

It gets to the Windows Set up Screen: and the message on the grey bar says Set up is starting Windows Installation...and will hang there for over 30 minutes without doing anything.

Or the more common Error:

Setup is loading Volume Manager

I can't find any reference to this happening on the Microsoft site or when I searched these archives.

Anymore information that I could provide to help narrow down what the issue I'll provide it, this is totally throwing me for a loop.

Answer:Installing Windows Server 2003 Error

I found the problem. Trap 002 is a RAM issue, it seems that Trap 006 is a CPU issue.

I replaced my ECC memory with a different kind and I was able to continue with the Install of 2003.

Its running like a champ now.

Answer:Windows 2003 Server Installation error

The laptop you are using is consumer model and it is not made for Server installation and you will also not get the system drivers for server Operating System
However, you may try to install the Windows 2003 server from different disc and after updating the BIOS.

DCdiag gives the following error :

Although the Guid DNS name (8e363e9d-1508-4f2a-b038-dc1054dc177b._msdcs.appsoft.accord.com) couldn't be resolved, the server name (blaze.appsoft.accord.com) resolved to the IP address (192.168.1.69) and was pingable. Check that the IP address is registered correctly with the DNS server.

I have followed almost all replies and reviews on this. But I was not able to resolve this issue. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

I recently reformatted and installed Windows XP Pro for a friend of mine.

After I did, the PC worked just fine for a month and now whenever it restarts it flashes a blue error screen then restarts again and just keeps cycling.

I had this issue before, and it was recommended i check the event viewer and there was some way to prevent the PC from restarting but actually stopping at the blue screen. Before I could do this because I could load into Safe Mode. Now I cannot load at all. Whether I try Safe Mode or Normal it just keeps cycling through the restart sequence.

Any ideas? Do I have to reformat and reinstall?

Answer:New Install --> Blue Error Screen???

What is the error message?

Does the issue occurs if you unplugg all the external devices?

Have you tried to perform last good known configuration ?

Else you could try to run system restore from recovery console?

Also did the system frezee often prior to blue screen?

Hi, I own a Lenovo G500s notebook, OS is Windows 8.1 and I have been experiencing Bluetooth issues ever since I updated to 8.1. I have some Bose bluetooth speakers I'd like to connect, but everytime I do so something goes wrong:the connection takes extremely longthe pc settings tell me there is a driver issue and the speakers do not connect at allmy browser (google chrome) crashes/freezes and only unfreezes when I turn off Bluetoothafter a few minutes, the sound coming from the speakers is 'chopped up' like a bad phone connectionI've searched everywhere for a solution, but have not had any success so far. The device I believe causing the problem is Qualcomm Atheros AR3012 Bluetooth 4.0 + HS, for which I think I don't have a proper driver installed, but the system itself says it's the most recent one when I let it search for updates automatically. I can't find a more recent one myself as well. It could be something else though. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Answer:Lenovo G500s Windows 8.1 Bluetooth issue

hi kaatbuelens,

Welcome to the Lenovo Forums.

Can you consider the following:
1. Create a system restore point (for backup purposes).
2. Navigate to Control Panel (Icon Views) > Programs and Features. On the list of installed programs, uninstall the Bluetooth Driver.(reboot if necessary) and the Bluetooth Device should look like this:

3. Download and install this Bluetooth Driver

Drivers for Atheros AR3012Version: 8.0.1.314OS: Windows 8 32/64bitFile: bt-8.0.1.314-win7881.zip (199494 K)

4. After installing the Bluetooth driver, navigate to Control Panel (Icon Views) > Devices and Printers and try to pair the Bose Bluetooth Speakers.

Let me know how it goes.

Regards

In your opinion, what's the best antivirus software for Windows server 2003 and Exchange server 2003, both on the same machine. I have Symantec SEP 11, but when I step through the install I get a crazy error message and install fails. Thought I'd try something different.

Answer:antivirus software for Windows Server 2003 & Exchange Server 2003

Being a Server based OS you cant get much. Eset, ForeFront, AVG, CA and BitDefender. We have a topic similar to this in our Enterprise area since a Server Based OS is not made for home use.

Hello,

We are experiencing multiple BSODs on our new Lenovo m900z All-In-One PCs.

Thank you!

Answer:Lenovo m900z - Getting blue screen error messages (USB driver, Symantec)

Since it sounds like you are experiencing this BSOD on multiple systems, so I would be highly suspect of your Symantec Endpoint Protection 14.0.1904.0000.105 client.   AV software's low level drivers are one of the prime suspects of the RDR_FILE_SYSTEM errors, and while Symantec makes pretty good AV software, I would still check for any product updates from Symantec, and try updating the virus definitions as well; especially if the errors just started occurring.     If you can reproduce the BSOD easily, you might try removing SEP temporarily on a single system (preferably off the network) and see if the problem goes away, but I certainly would not recommend leaving a users system unprotected for any extended period of time.    Have you pushed a new build of SEP out to your clients recently? Good Luck,
