I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Is AMD planning to release Windows 10 drivers for RadeonHD234k cards too? Are those machines stuck with Windows 7?

If any of you have an interest in graphics and gaming you might find the following article interestingclick hereIt seems that the new nVidia 5950, (with the Detonator 50 drivers), is very evenly matched with the ATI Radeon 9800 XT, at a similar price. The new 5700 marginally outperforms the Radeon 9600 XT, again at a similar price.Good to see that nVidia have finally produced cards that can compete with the best that ATI have to offer. They have been lagging behind for way too long.

This is a long standing question. Which drivers should I use? I have graphical issues with the current Drivers from Dell.
Any ideas what are the advantages of Dell's drivers over the ones from Intel/NVIDIA web site and do the even work? What will I lose if I use the latter?

Answer:Inspiron 7567 which drivers? Dell drivers or Intel/NVIDIA graphics drivers?

Dell drivers are Intel/Nvidia drivers that are customized for your exact model and should be used. They are available at Dell Support if you have to reinstall.

Hi!

I was wondering where nvidia's pre release driver gets stored on the computer so that I don't have to re-download every time!

I want to copy them to my Setups folder, so that I can re use them.

I tried C:\Windows\Software Distribution but it was not there!

Also, why do I get a WDDM v1.0 driver and not a v1.1?

Waiting for replies!

Thanks!

Answer:Where to find nvidia's Pre release drivers on computer?

Well for the most part device drivers are installed into the "C:\Windows\system32" and "C:\Windows\system32\drivers" sub folders by an installer. Each update you download will see it's own number where you can store those away in a separate folder by simply downloading to that directly.

Prereased drivers are also referred to as "beta" drivers with the advice of "use at own risk"! They are not the driver sets you would see the Windows update site locate and install for you there.

The v1.0 driver is obviously the latest "out of beta" driver available for general use. The v1.1 being in beta form is one you have to go to NVidia directly for. For the present time you should stay with the v1.0 until the v1.1 is out of beta and available at the normail download site. Drivers - Download NVIDIA Drivers

I don't know for a fact but I think the switchable graphics may be the problem with Windows 10. I had this issue with my W500. Go into BIOS and set the display to the Intel chip. Then go to the Intel site and get the driver for the Intel HD Graphics 4600. Manually install the driver using the inf file. If that works, you can do the same with Nvidia. Again you need to set the BIOS to discrete then install a driver. I have to go into BIOS to switch graphics drivers. Maybe someone has a better solution.

When I bought this machine in mid June, the online listing, and the display plaque in front of the machine at Best Buy both said it was fully Win10 compatible.  I asked the BestBuy staff  to be sure.  They assured me it was 100% compatible.  I wouldn't have bought it otherwise.    The Windows 10 compatibility checker and upgrade app said I was ready to go about week or two ago.  Did all my pre-upgrade Windows updates,  upgraded to Windows 10 smoothly, rebooted for the last time, and my second monitor immediately went to sleep.  Turns out both the onboard Intel HD Graphics 5500   and NVIDIA GeForce 840M display adapter drivers are non-functional (automatically disabled by the OS).    Updated the BIOS, and Intel chipset drivers, and pulled the very latest display drivers from Lenovo and from NVIDIA/GeForce, and none of it helps.     I spent about 90 minutes on hold with Lenovo, and finally got a support person who told me simply that the Edge 15 is not Windows 10 compatible, and that the "fix" was to downgrade back to Windows 8.1, and if that wasn't acceptible, to take it up with Best Buy (their online specs for this computer still claim today that it is Windows 10 compatible). I went back to Best Buy, and they won't admit anything.   They couldn't tell me if there was a known compatibility problem with this specific model, but I should try a fresh install of ... Answer:Edge 15 - Intel and Nvidia display drivers both fail after Windows 10 upgrade

Hi, did you ever find a resolution to this issue. I updated to windows 10 and the system either would not start or if it did it was so slow it was unusable. So, I did a fresh install of windows 10 and installed all drivers from lenovos site. I now have a similar issue. The system keeps flips away from the nvidia driver over use. I can tell because when it flips the screen becomes slightly grainy. The only way to get it to flip back is to turn off and turn back on the system. I have setup the nvidia adapter to run all programs that need it like indesign, photoshop, and illustrator, but over time, or if I put the system to sleep, the integrated adapter is flipped to be active and it becomes grainy. Any ideas?

Answer:Latest Release 265 Series Nvidia Drivers for Lenovo T61p?

My advice is proceed with caution. Latest drivers aren't always the best option. I'd also read the release notes and see what was done to them. Driver updates are often issued for non-issues and won't make any difference. Here is an example of a ficticous update reason. Bugfix: driver cause BSOD crash on dell XPS model XXX to YYY when entering hibernation Such an update would never be picked up by Lenovo because it won't matter to any lenovo computer, and if you constantly update to the latest drivers, you're not avoiding problems, your making yourself little more then a beta tester running new code that could turn out to be unstable. My motto is...    if it's not broke, don't fix it!!!

Hello, I know this question was asked a couple of times, and I've been searching for a solution for some time now, but still have no clue about the problem: BSOD with nvlddmkm.sys error. I've tried installin all sorts of drivers combination (OEM drivers, drivers from Intel and Nvidia etc...) but still the problem persists. The only thing that helps is if I disable the Optimus from BIOS and use integrated graphics only. This is no good for me, because i need Nvidia CUDA capabilities. So obviously this is a driver and not a hardware error. I tried to contact support, but it's impossible to contact them. What can I do?Any suggestions? In my opinion this is Lenovo's error and they should fix this as soon as possible. I am losing work randomly. And also the laptop was not cheap. My system specifications: Lenovo Z580i7 3632QM, Intel HD4000GT 640M6GB RAMWindows Ultimate 7 64 Any help is appreciated. Best regards,K

I have a Y50 which comes with an NVidia 860M card and I'm currently using Windows 10 64bit. Which drivers should I use for video/graphics ? Intel HD Graphics 4600 or NVidia (latest ones for 860M) ? Normally I would assume that NVidia is superior to Intel, but when I install ONLY NVidia drivers, Windows still goes ahead and installs Intel HD Graphics 4600 in the background automatically, causing me to have BOTH drivers installed simultaneously. Another possible issue I noticed was that if I have ONLY NVidia drivers installed, the possible display resolutions listing in Windows Display Settings for me are just 1024x768 and 1920x1080, and the former is the "recommended" resolution !!. However if I have the Intel drivers installed too, I get a whole bunch of other possible resolution options too. Having both installed simultaneously is causing some other HDMI out issues for me, which I want to solve this. Help ?

Answer:Which video drivers to use for Y50 ? Intel or NVidia ? Or both ?

Your y50 uses both video drivers actually. I have had bad results using anything different than the one suggested by lenovo to use for the 4600HD.As for the 960M (mine has) I use the latest driver from Nvidia.

Answer:Satellite L50-A-1CU - Can I use non-Toshiba drivers for Intel & Nvidia?

Hi

Generally speaking yes you can use them. Problem is that such drivers are not supported and tested by Toshiba so you use them on own risk.
To be honest in last several years I?ve heard different stories about it. Some people are happy with better graphic performance.

Some people are complaining about very loud machine and permanent running cooling vent. Even after original recovery image installation the situation is same. I?ve heard that values in GPU BIOS will be changed and it is not possible to recover them to original and default settings.

There are also reports about switch offs as result of overheating.

I don?t know what to say about it. I use my machine with original drivers. I don?t want to risk anything. Of course with your machine you can do whatever you want so it is your decision.

If you will install them please be so nice and send us some feedback. It can be very useful for other notebook owners.

XPS 14.  About 3 years old.  Ran the Intel Driver Update utility which told me there was a new driver for the Intel HD 4000.  But it goes to great length warning me that Dell has thier own preferred version and I should use that 3 year old version.  Nvidia wants me to update the Geforce GT 630M.
Is that just overkill warning?  I know I could always roll back but the warnings sound so serious ;^)

Answer:Update drivers (NVidia and Intel) despite warnings?

It is serious. You never use any driver unless it comes from Dell. They customize drivers for laptops and any updates must come from Dell. Laptops rarely need driver or bios updates. Sign up to be notify if Dell ever has any updates.

This may sound a stupid question but can these two clash??

After a fresh reinstall windows installed the Intel graphics accelerators then i installed my nvidia drivers for my Gforce 9400gt(not the best)
my monitor kept turning off on its own

Ive run dozens of tests and everything is reported as working properly
i uninstalled the intel drivers but the igfxsvc module was stilll running
even when i ended the process it would run again and it didnt appear in services
this is part of Intel and nothing to do with my nvidia drivers

I was wondering if a clash may of been causing the issue??
sorry if its a dumb question

Hi all, my questions are simple: why the latest nvidia/lenovo driver is the 307.45? On nvidia website this driver is designed for Quadro-Tesla gpu and not for geforce 600m class gpu (look here: http://www.nvidia.com/object/quadro-tesla-win8-win7-winvista-32bit-307.45-whql-driver.html). If i watch the gpu's clock in nvidia control panel/system's informations the valor isn't correct (475mhz instead of 660mhz) but using gpu-z i can see that the default clock is 660mhz.. So what's wrong? And why the gpu boost from 660 to 800mhz doesn't work while gaming?Second question: I have updated Intel graphic driver downloading it from Intel website. Can i have some problems using the latest Intel driver? Or i must use only the oldest one from Lenovo website? Thanks in advance Note: My OS is Windows 8 64bit full updated.

I use Toshiba M645 Laptop that has two graphic cards
with NVIDIA Optimus Technology. (Auto-swicthing graphics processors)
Now I have some vga problems and driver questions below:

1. Intel HD Graphics <-Why can't install driver from Intel official website?, driver not supports!
, but the driver in Toshiba website can be installed fine as well.
What's wrong with that? Was it mean "Intel HD Graphics" has more than one type, several of model classes?
or it must related to the chipset of Toshiba laptop's mainboard?

2. NVIDIA Geforce GT330M <-How to use only this vga stand alone?, I tried to disable Intel HD Graphics from device manager
and then the monitor was not in use, black screen was displayed.
So, I tried to disable Intel HD Graphics in safe mode, no black screen
, but the next normal boot it was displayed like GT330M was not in use
(can't config NVIDIA tools, it was disappeared from control panel), but it was still enabled in device manager.

Now, I just updated Intel HD Graphics driver, a mouse lag in Aero themes taskbar effect was fixed,
also the video framerate fault was fixed too.

Hope someone can give the solutions, how to fix these problems.
Thanks in advance.

Answer:Intel HD Graphics + NVIDIA Geforce [Drivers & Usage problems]

1. Main reason the Intel reference driver won't work is it hasn't been modified to work with the second card (applies to laptops with either Nvidia or AMD for the second card). Same applies to the Nvidia driver, it requires the Intel driver to be installed before it can be installed.

2. From what I have seen the Nvidia card (or AMD if so equipped) can be made to run all the time only when the laptop is plugged in and you change the power settings to high performance. If that doesn't get it working all the time here may be another setting that needs to be changed. If that is the case going to have to wait on someone with a similar setup for more info.

All: I have had an issue that hasn't gotten any help from Lenovo.  Fortunately I did get some help from Intel forums.  If any of you have Optimus, the Intel drivers both from Lenovo's website and also from the Intel website do not load - they complain about not finding the hardware.  Intel gave me the tip that the driver should indeed load even on an optimus system.  There is nothing custom or unique about the Intel driver on an Optimus system. Here is the link to the steps I used to successfully update both my Intel and Nvidia graphic drivers to the latest releases available from the vendors - while we wait for Lenovo to release an update more currently than every 6 months. http://communities.intel.com/thread/24790

Hi there,

I am a sound engineer, I own a device called Focusrite Liquidmix which worked fine in Windows 7 64bit BUT only if it was installed in a firewire device which had LEGACY drivers. Something that you could easilly do in win7 with manual choice of the legacy drivers for the specific firewire card (in device manager).
In windows 8 the option is gone! No legacy drivers alternative.
What I did is use the win7 legacy drivers and I manually choose them but it didn't let me install them (unsigned drivers).
What I did next was some cmd commands with test signing and stuff (known commands to disable this thing) which also hasn't worked!
Final stop was to do the windows 8 restart in advance settings option where you can choose with F7 to disable signed drivers check. This finally worked.
The problem is that EVERY time I restart the driver again doesn't work and has a yellow signal in device manager. So I have to restart again in advanced settings, start with F7 and it works once again. So everytime I need to work on songs with this device which needs legacy drivers I have to do 2 time consuming restarts.
Any thoughts on how can I permanently have drivers signed check disabled in Windows 8?

Thanks in advance. This thing with legacy drivers mode is a problem for many many devices and people.

Answer:Windows 8 (release preview) Legacy drivers

I understand that issue clearly because I encountered it before.

It depends how old the device is and if it still has support then the manufacturers need to make new signed versions for win8.
Some drivers were hard to find or not available at all.
Some time ago someone told me to look for drivers on catalog.update.microsoft.com and search the device name or the hardware ID's found in the detail section of the driver (device manager). Works with most of devices.

If you're lucky enough, you can find some signed drivers there.
Besides this link, there's the manufacturer's website but you're not finding much for Win8 or new OSes in general if the hardware is older.

Good luck

Hi, I'm currently using version 12.4.1.4 on this card and it works perfectly. Is there a reason you want to change to a different version then you have installed?   I (personally) think it's wise to not fix what isn't broken, so if a driver does it's job, I won't update it. Installing the latest drivers released by intel is asking for touble, you'll be little more then a beta tester, and although I can't speak for lenovo, my guess is if they haven't put the latest drivers up, it's because they haven't deemed them stable yet, or may even know of problems with them. On the otherhand, if you know of some improvement in this driver that will make a real difference for users, then please enlighten us, and perhaps one of our members can figure out how to find the driver and get it installed. It would also be nice to do some before and after testing to see if there really is any significant advantage.

everytime I install my amd sb750 chipset drivers, windows won't boot up and it was attempt to repair after restarting. Only way I can get back is to "refresh my pc". I have a dfi LP JR 790gx-m2rs board and it sucks not being about to install my chipset drivers. Anybody else have a sb750 chipset board and getting errors? It worked fine on the consumer preview.

I have the same board and situation is even worse. I can't even complete setup as it just BSOD's after selecting the drive when the SATA controller is set to RAID mode. I can install in ACHI mode but I need ACHI RAID (for other complicated reasons). I tried using txtsetup.oem files but it just says no device drivers found.

Hi, I have tried installing the NVIDIA ION drivers available at the NVIDIA.com website in order to resolve an issue I am having which I will explain about below. I understand that because the Lenovo C200 all in one PC (which is the PC I have, which has the prolem explained below), has both an Intel GMA 3150 and NVIDIA ION graphics card, the drivers available on the NVIDIA website will not install - the error output is the driver couldn't find any compatible graphics hardware. From my research, I understand that it is Lenovo that releases NVIDIA ION driver updates (because, as far as I'm aware, NVIDIA's generic ION drivers won't install on computers that have multiple graphics cards that use manual graphics switching), and ones from you install fine, but they're out of date. The problem I am facing that made me want to find an NVIDIA ION driver update is because video in Internet Explorer doesn't work full screen (and with the latest Flash update - Flash 10.2 - videos on YouTube don't work as you load videos too, now - IE simply becomes slow and the video container remains black). However, if I disable Hardware Acceleration in the Adobe Flash Settings pane, videos work fine. Additionally, I installed the Internet Explorer 9 Release Candidate, and websites appeared not to display at all, even though IE9 was displaying the circular moving icon as if a website page is loading. When I disable GPU Rendering in IE9 Internet options/Advanced tab, it work... Read more

Answer:Problem with old NVIDIA ION drivers - please provide latest NVIDIA ION drivers

To sum up, I believe this problem is down to Hardware Acceleration of the GPU that perhaps the old NVIDIA drivers currently shipping with the Lenovo C200 and the ones only available from the Lenovo Driver Downloads page doesn't support, that the newer ION drivers do support - or perhaps there is a problem with the older ION drivers that the newer ION drivers rectify. Either way, please provide newer NVIDIA ION drivers available for the Lenovo C200 all in one please - the generic ones from NVIDIA's website doesn't work so I presume Lenovo takes the generic drivers from NVIDIA, modifies them for the Lenovo hardware and makes them available on the Lenovo Driver Downloads website. I'd appreciate if a staff member of Lenovo responds to this thread acknowledging that this will be done. Thanks.

I've got a z710 with an Nvidia 840 and I think that the Intel video card is being used to drive the video on my TV via the hdmi out port. I'm pretty sure the 840 is a much better adapter. Is there any way to use the 840 exclusively on my hdmi out?

I have a Dell XPS 15 (9550) that I received last week from Dell with a random screen flickering issue.
It is based on evalue order code: <ADMIN NOTE: Order number removed per privacy policy>
It is the 6th Gen Core i7, 16GB RAM, 15.6" FHD 1080p display (not 4k), 512GB SSD, 84WHr Battery, Intel 530 Graphics AND NVIDIA 960M

I saw a post about the XPS 13 with the intel display flickering being fixed with the new driver... I am running driver version 20.19.15.4300 for the Intel 530 and my screen is still constantly flickering  on my brand new XPS 9550.
Another Issue: I also noticed that in the Intel graphics properties config panel -> 3D -> Application Optimal Mode... this also causes issues with the start menu looking distorted and fuzzy, even making some of the white text look gray.  I disabled this to resolve that issue, but the screen still constantly flickers.
One thing I have done recently to mitigate the flickering is go into the NVIDIA driver control panel and set the NVIDIA card as the preferred graphics card, which works for most applications. As soon as the Intel card kicks back in the screen flickers... I have tried various drivers versions for this model off the Dell website without success. I am running Windows 10 Pro...  not sure if a newer driver is available and just not posted. For example the newest Laptop BIOS on the driver website ends in .3 while my pc came with .5 installed. So wasn't sure if the website was b... Read more

Another update... I was ready to give up as others have above when I found posts on the NotebookReviews forum mentioning this new Intel Driver:  downloadcenter.intel.com/.../Intel-Graphics-Driver-for-Windows-7-8-1-10-15-40-6th-Gen
It won't install through the executable, but if you follow the instructions here for a manual install: www.windowscentral.com/how-install-intel-beta-graphics-drivers-surface  they do work.  Incidentally that link is regarding the exact same flickering problem on the MS Surface Book Pro(very similar hardware).  I'm 3 days in to using these drivers and it appears to have resolved the problem.  This is the longest I've gone without flickering by a long shot.
Note on the Intel download site the first of the "Key Issues Fixed"...  "Display may flicker on 6th Generation Intel Core and related processors".
I also updated to the latest WiFi drivers from Dell's site at the same time, so I can't be 100% certain my issues were fixed by just the display drivers, or if it was the combination of the two.

Edit: I fixed it! (I was causing the problem myself but uninstalling the chip in the first place when i should have been disabling it instead)

Ok... I looked for about an hour and decided i would have to make a new thread for my specific problem... so sorry if im making my first post in an odd place

I recently installed a NVIDIA GeForce 5500 FX PCI 256MB DDR video card
followed directions as best i could, and disabled the Intel integrated graphics... but my PC insists on REinstalling the intel integrated graphics controller upon restart... It left me alone for awhile and i could run Counter Strike : Condition Zero moderately well (low frames after playing for over an hour) but after allowing my computer to update itself (while using IE to dowload firefox for a reinstall, IE randomly decided my home page was going to be the microsoft site for the day) and since then no matter what i do the computer insists on trying to reinstall the intel integrated graphics thing...

so my question is, how do I make this stop? how do i keep the computer from giving me the dreaded "found new hardware" bubble when im using a FAR superior (REAL) video card already?

is there something i do in the BIOS (i hope not, i dont like messing around in there) or on the motherboard itself?

i have some basic info about my comp in my signature but im going to use "PolSystemInfo" to find all my PC specs and just copy paste them below, I just hope its enough info to help so... Read more

Hmm that didn't happen to me when I put mines in. Did you install the NVIDIA drivers? Try disabling the onboard in the device manager. That?s what I did. There doesn?t seem to be an option to turn it off in the bios (my bios) maybe there is for you however. It isn?t too complicated. Just simply look for onboard graphics or integrated graphics controller or w/e and select disable, but first try disabling it in the device manager. It should be listed under display adapters -> properties -> disable this device.

I'm staying on AGP for atleast a few more years so I was just wondering if anyone had an idea of when the next scheduled release is. I kind of want to get a new card before I go to CPL this summer.

I have been given a ASUS, Q551LN Laptop to fix that has been looking up, or freezing. The mouse moves windows explorer is still working when it freezes but no new applications can be opened. I assumed it was a overheating issue until I saw that it would run great in safe mode; no crash/freeze. I ran Seatools on the hard drive - passed. I ran SFC /SCANNOW, no problems or missing Windows files. I had read many forums indicating that this could be a driver issue after upgrading to Windows 10. I reinstall all drivers with current OEM drivers; still freezing. I restore OS, no luck. I reset windows back to windows 8.1; still freezes during OS install setup. I did not install updates and was able to get to the desktop before it froze. I checked box in MSCONFIG for base video, restarted and windows runs fine, NO FREEZING!!!!! Now I am starting to realize it is graphics based problem. This ASUS has a Ge-force 840M graphics card and Intel integrated graphics as well; hmm. I searched online for graphics card problems most did not apply but fortunately the topic one thread was with games freezing randomly due to problems with graphics cards. One post indicated that settings for NVIDIA Physx

I tested these "Verde 295.73 Drivers" this evening and found them to run smooth after an initial few seconds of laggy-choppy type reaction. My assessment is that these drivers aren't really an improvement compared to the 285.79 and indeed might run a tad slower IMO, if you are getting good performance out of the 285.79, I wouldn't bother with this update.I would try these drivers if like some who come here looking for driver help can't get their laptops running well when using the 285.79 drivers. I will keep on using these drivers for a day or two longer or until they make my GT 555M run unstable. After that point in time I will decide if I will keep them or not, based on my initial test I will most probably return back to the 285.79 drivers.I will repost about this subject in two days or if the drivers go AWOL. I would welcome feedback if anyone of you try these drivers, PLEASE REMEMBER TO CREATE A RESTORE POINT BEFORE UPDATING.

I have a Z230 SFF with both integrated Intel E3-1245v3 iGPU and an Nvidia NVS 310 dGPU. I use the iGPU as the primary VGA (active on boot) and pass the dGPU through to a virtual machine. With BIOS 1.18 + ME 9.0.31.1487 this worked fine by setting: Advanced: VGA Configuration:Slot 1: Nvidia VGA controller: Non-boot deviceIGD: Intel VGA controller: Primary VGA device Then, before a planned system reinstall, I decided to update the BIOS and ME. I chose BIOS 1.53 and ME 9.1.32.1002 based on the History.htm release notes included with the latest BIOS 1.55 update package. Following the BIOS and ME updates, the system initially continued to work as I wanted, booting with iGPU active. But then I cleared the CMOS while troubleshooting another problem. That reset the primary VGA to the dGPU. Advanced: Device Options : Integrated Video was set to Disabled. I enabled Advanced: Device Options: Integrated Video, but then there was *no* VGA active on reboot. I had to reset CMOS again to get back to using the dGPU as primary VGA. Then I discovered that with the updated BIOS + ME, the BIOS Setup Advanced: VGA Configuration option has disappeared.  Any hints for getting the iGPU back to primary VGA? Ordinarily I'd consider flashing back to working BIOS 1.18, butI don't actually have a BIOS 1.18 flash file. We recently updated our computers at the radio station I work at; we also transitioned to an audio over iP console system that utilizes software instead of physical sound cards for audio. This system (called LiveWire) uses a separate NIC card on each machine for the network.

The manufacturer strongly recommended we use an Intel NIC card, which we did (model EXPI9301CTBLK). However, no matter what I do, I cannot get the Intel drivers installed. I can install them, but Windows immediately overwrites them with the generic Windows drivers.

This is causing all sorts of problems with our real-time audio.

Does anyone know how to install a NIC driver in Windows 10 and NOT have Windows overwrite the driver with the MS driver???

Thanks

Dear Lenovo,I'm facing the issue with the nVidia drivers since the Battlefront release. I am unable to update them, because once done nVidia card is not recognized as a valid hardware and applications doesn't start. It is present for all my games. Some state that DirectX compatible hardware wasn't found. Are you going as a company to work with nVidia to resolve the issue? The other thing I'd like to ask is if it's possible to upgrade GPU on my Lenovo Y50-70? I know some companies are upgrading those using rebailing method. I'm interested in moving from GTX 860M to GTX 970m but I'm not sure how it would work with the BIOS.

Hi there,
On windows update I have an update available for NVIDIA driver update for NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M. Each time I try to install it, it failed.

Through NVDIA control panel, it appeared that I have already the last driver version installed.

As a Windows Insider for windowss 10, I had it preinstalled and running since then and I would like to know whether it is a bug or whatever?

The official released date for Windows 10, was on th 29th of july 2015. Do I need to upgrade it again?

Answer:Windows 10 pb with NVIDIA drivers

Not sure if this will help, but since I run Win10 in a VM, I had to set my video drivers to "basic" drivers, reboot, and then I was able to upgrade to Win10 (from 8.1). After that, I was able to update my video drivers (built by VMWare) with no issues. You may need to do the same (or something similar) for your NVidia drivers.

With the latest Nvidia drivers on windows update there are some problems

1) Change Flat Panel Scaling does not work correctly in display , if i click anything other than ( use my displays built in panel scaling ) it defaults back to it. Select Nvidia scaling and it goes back to default ^. This works fine with 185.20 -> 181.20 -> ****

2) Adjust Video Colour settings does nothing with media player classic even when selected to ( with the nvidia settings ). This works fine with all other latest beta nvidia drivers -

3) Doom 3 Flickers BADLY with any official/beta nvidia driver in use ( 185.20 e.t.c ) , this is not fixed by any form of Config editing or control panel changing. Thus far only the windows 7 update driver works with doom 3 , however its an old driver and as above scaling isn't working. SyncMaster T240 HDMI/VGA/DVI/USB 24

I have a GeForce GTX 550Ti card and have been experiencing crashes on my PC. Not only that but get a temporary black screen before and after watching a video. Especially HD videos. My first though was PSU as the PC died with no blue screen. I've already bought a new PSU in case the problem is not resolved and will wait and see.
From the Nvidia GeForce Experience program, under my rig I selected view full system requirements which brought me to this page, link. Selecting the drivers tab I used the manual search selecting the series and OS. I installed the 314.22 - WHQL version 25/03/2013.
It seems my problem is fixed as no more crashes and no more flitting black screens prior to waching a video has happened. I've also hidden the Nvidia driver update in Windows update.

I just bought a 9800GT and clean reinstall of Windows 7 and the problem is that the drivers don't detect any lower resolutions below 800x600 and doesn't detect that my CRT old monitor supports a refresh rate of 120.

I usually play video games at 800x600 @ 100hz refresh rate making it very smooth, but now I'm forced to use 85hz with the largest capable resolution being 1070 by XXXXX, can't remember :P.

I've updated windows, installed the latest drivers (197.13), reinstalled the drivers and tried creating a custom resolution via Nvidia drivers and other software without success. Another problem is that saturation and hue aren't working. I'm quite frustrated by this playing in black and white and laggy gameplay, I desperately need some help :(

Thanks in advance to who ever posts on this thread :)

I tried looking updating my monitor drivers but they are already updated.

I have several problems with windows xp.

First, sometimes the system will hang for a while - the mouse works, but when I click nothing happens for maybe a minute, then it 'catches up' (everything I clicked a minute ago responds like it should, all it once).

Second, I get a BSOD very frequently (when playing GTA1, most of the time, usually starting a game or switching resolutions). It mentions nv4_disp.dll, so should I get a different version of the drivers? I've heard of people having problems with nvidia and windows xp. Is there a specific driver version that you recommend? I've heard the latest versions aren't always the best.

I have windows xp professional running on a 1.7ghz p4 with 512 mb ram. It is a dell laptop.

Hello Friends, I noticed that another IRST Driver (Intel Rapid Storage Technology) for Win10 64bit rev 14.8.4.1046 (ID # nz1io01w), was released on 2016-AUG-15. This does not make sense consdering that the numerically higher rev 14.8.7.1051 (ID # n1ei202w) was released on 2016-APR-14. It seems like the version numbers are going backwards! 2016-AUG-15 = 14.8.4.1046 (nz1io01w)2016-APR-14 = 14.8.7.1051 (n1ei202w)  Older version is released after a newer version? What's going on here?

Hello Members, just a quick question please
Will i be able to upgrade from Windows 8 Release Preview, to the Windows 8 final release, and when i mean the term upgrade, i'm talking any programs, files and settings i may have installed while using the Win 8 'Release Preview'.

I have searched this forum, aswell as other forums, i've also look at the Microsoft Windows 8 Release Preview 'frequently asked questions', but can't find clarity to this specific answer, does anyone know the answer please?

I havn't installed Win8 RP to my computer (Dell Inspiron 2320) a yet, so this issues what's holding me back.

Also what runs better, a Windows 7 to Windows 8 upgrade install (same drive partition)?, or, a dual boot with Windows 7 on it's original partition and Windows 8 on it own partition but still on the same hard drive, the reason i asked is that i gather in creating a new partition for Windows 8, the Windows 7 partition need to be compacted down, is there a performance impact to either OS?

Any info, or opinions would be great.

regards
Livio

Answer:Will i be able to upgrade Windows 8 Release Prev to the final release

Welcome to the EightForums! liviococcia

Once the finished retail product is available when launched you would need to perform a clean install as with any previous version of Windows. The backup tools however may allow you to preserve and restore user files and settings without too much problem.

The final details in the "pudding" so to speak will be known once the RTM(Release To Manufacturers) is seen. Clean installs are always the preferred option over upgrading over a previous version which can often carry some problems along with the upgrade.

With the Windows Easy Transfer option with 7 once all programs were back on a clean install the restoration of the backup made with that option was found to restore the files and settings with 7. I expect the same should be seen with 8 as well.

Source: Windows 7 Release Date And Release Candidate News

The Windows 7 Release Candidate has been made available by Microsoft for Technet and MSDN subscribers. Users with a subscription can go to the Technet or MSDN portal and download the release candidate of the upcoming Microsoft operating system where it is available as a 32-bit and 64-bit download. The public availability of the release candidate is expected on May 5 when users from all over the world will have the opportunity to download and test the Windows 7 Release Candidate.
The following links point directly to the release candidates at both the MSDN and Technet websites.

Technet 32-bit
Technet 64-bit
MSDN 32-bit
MSDN 64-bit

Probably even more important than the availability of the release candidate is the confirmation that Windows 7 will be released in the Holiday season by Microsoft Senior Vice President Bill Veghte. The release date was one of the best kept secrets with rumors ranging from an early 2009 to a late 2010 release. This essentially means that Microsoft will release the next Windows operating system in about six months.

I would like to ask if there is any importance using the display drivers from Toshiba, or the latest official Nvidia drivers are better?

(Having Nvidia Geforce Go 7300) (Satellite A200-14D)

Answer:Difference between offical Nvidia or Toshiba release for Satellite A200

Some people here in the forum have suggested that the Toshiba display drivers are a little bit modified.
The Toshiba display driver supports an overheating protection which controls the graphic card performance and the internal temperature.

It?s a simply fact that the temperature increases while the graphic card and another devices are running with full performance.
In such case the graphic driver decreases the graphic card performance if the temperature reaches the critical level.

In my knowledge the original NVIDIA or ATI graphic drivers don?t support such function.
Therefore it?s advisable to use the Toshiba graphic drivers. Of course you can also use the display drivers from other sources but only at your own risk!

hello,

i have the qosmio X300-14P with windows 7..
i play actual games (f.e. skyrim) which need the LATEST video driver!

the x300 is said to have a nvidia geforce 9800M GTX video chip.

however, when i download the latest driver (295.73 today), at installation it says :

no nvidia hardware detected - unable to install !
=====================================

this is so with all nvidia drivers in the last 2 years (with windows 7 and windows vista alike) !

what is the problem ?

did toshiba not include an nvidia chip, but a cheap chinese noname chip, or what is the problem here ?

whatever notebook i had before the toshiba, it would accept actual nvidia drivers.
only the toshiba qosmio x300 doesnt.
why ?

it is vital that i install the latest drivers, how can i get by this problem ?

the driver that toshiba offers for the qosmio x300 is almoust 3 years old (2009, now it is 2012!) -
this is ridiculous!

an actual video/graphics driver is urgently needed, it is vital that the nvidia drivers work.

i ask toshiba :
HOW can i get the latest nvidia driver to work in the qosmio x300-14P ?
which is said to have a geforce 9800M GTX nvidia chip (though nvidia driver says : it does'nt).

how can i get the latest `nvidia drive (295.73)r to work ?

thank you

q.

Answer:Qosmio X300 - new nvidia graphic drivers are uninstallable: no nvidia chip

i think i came across this problem on my qosmio

the gpu chip i most likely nvidia but its been branded or modified by toshiba so its not recognized as a genuine nvidia chip

this means that only the signed toshiba drivers will actually recognize your gpu card, but will unfortunately leave you with the latest toshiba driver and not the latest driver available from nvidia

there are workarounds this problem http://www.laptopvideo2go.com/ this website provides gpu drivers for many many laptops along with instructions how to make your laptop see the card or simply force the drivers in the system

good luck

So I've upgraded my laptop from vista 32-bit to windows 7 32-bit. For somereason, no matter what version of nvidia laptop drivers i try, once it goes to reboot, the computer will hang after the 'windows loading' screen and never reach the login screen. From there i'm brought to the startup repair, which doesn't do anything. However, when the drivers are removed, my computer boots fine using the windows standard vga graphics driver. Any suggestions?

Answer:Windows refusing to use nvidia drivers?

Welcome to SF
Which versions of the drivers have you tried?
Where did you get them from?
I've just had a quick look and the most up-to-date is here; http://www.nvidia.com/object/noteboo...6.81_whql.html

With the driver installed after rebooting, enter the advanced boot options (F8, F12 or similar) and choose Disable Driver Signature Enforcement

Okay so I have a large problem that nobody cant seem to help me with. One day I played splinter cell conviction on my PC. Suddenly my game crashed and wierd lights started showing on my screen. So I restarted my computer. Everything was fine. So the same thing happend about two more times until my videocard drivers stopped working at the third time. So I reinstalled and uninstalled the drivers didn't seem to work. I mean everything looked fine exept I couldn't play any games. All gave me the error that something is wrong with my videocard. Later I found out that somehow my BIOS had chanced. The part where you are suppose to chose the video card. So I chanced it back and everything seemed to work for a day until the same problem came back. I looked at the BIOS and everything was as it has to be. But the videocard error still existed. Still cant play any games. I mean this is just wierd. How did my BIOS chance? Why doesn't my videocard work? When video cards break the really break but not like this. And my videocard is only 1 year old, it can't break this fast. NVIDIA GeForce 9800 GT. So please someone help me fix this problem or at least confirm my suspicions that my videocard is broken.

I've got a media center system I've put together and I'm trying to install Windows 7 64-bit on it, but it keeps crashing towards the end of the installation process. The machine doesn't blue screen, it just ends up resetting. The 32-bit version installs okay, but ends up resetting the system the same way when it goes out to update the video drivers. The motherboard is an ASUS M2N68-VM. I'm using the onboard video.

Assuming the issue is the video driver, is there a way to install Windows 7 without the Nvidia driver that I can later nab myself? The latest Vista driver actually works great on the 32-bit version, but I can't get 64 installed to a point where I can boot into it and install a Vista driver. The case is low-profile, so unfortunately I don't have a spare card to toss in.

This isn't a huge deal. If I can't get 64 installed, no biggie. Just wondering if anyone has some workarounds or other ideas. Thanks!

Answer:Install Windows 7 without the Nvidia drivers?

DOH! Was about to post about another card... duh

Uhmmm... if the installation can "finish" enough to get past the second stage (after the extended file copy, then the second reboot to the point where the next reboot would get to the screen where it's asking the questions about user name, etc), after that second reboot and just before the third if you press F8 and then use the "Enable VGA Mode" option on the boot menu you should be able to at least get into Windows directly, and then try updating by installing the actual Nvidia drivers and not the default ones in Vista.

It's worth a shot... and always a good idea to find another video card as a backup just in case, even a low profile PCI card comes in handy in exactly these situations.

Hi,

I have already a ready usb disk on key with the windows ready for installing.

I have nvidia gtx 770 video card.
Now i have the latest drivers 350.12 but i want to make a new clean install of my windows 8 and the problem is that windows will install the latest drivers but i want it to install drivers version 347.88.

Can i force the windows in the installation options while installing to install the version 347.88 ? If not can i force windows not to install the video card drivers at all so i can install it later ?

And after installing 347.88 can i set somewhere in the windows that it will not try to install in the future the latest video drivers version and only will alert if there is a new version ?

Answer:How can i install windows 8 without the nvidia drivers ?

windows 8.1 setup media will not install the newest drivers - windows update will - once you get online..

during installation - do not connect to your router (internet) - thus preventing the driver download..

install your 347 driver - connect to the internet and install the updates (this will update all your drivers)
after all the updates are completed. going through device manager Roll back the video driver to 347

if that does not work un-install the 350 driver through device manager and it should roll back to 347

Actually you will have both driver versions on your PC but you will have to tell device manager to roll back to the older version..

you could also block automatic driver updates > control panel > system > advanced system properties > Hardware > device installation settings

So, the story is that some engineers at Dell found an issue with their servers and started talking to Intel and Microsoft. Will you get better performance with AHCI? Many/most people believe you do. They can, in some cases cause problems. I have always used them and have never had problems, but others do.

I am having an issue with a new build. I am running Windows 7 Pro 64 on an SSD (Crucial M500). Windows installation runs fine with no visible problems, as does installation of the motherboard drivers (Asus M5A97 R2.0). The CPU is an AMD FX-6300. It gets to the logo but will not start, giving options for startup repair or start normally. Starting normally will make the screen go black (although the pc remains running). I was having some screen freeze issues that turned out to be related to Hard Drive / DVD Drive firmware on a new Dell PC and part of what I did to troubleshoot along the way was to install the current Vista drivers for my installed 9500GT and 6200 cards.

In normal mode it freezes on "extracting nvcpl.cp_..." Not sure what is going on here. Cust does not have cds.

Just wondering if anyone else is using this chipset and what drivers you are using?

EDIT: i advise not to try the xp drivers they messed up my install, i am using the ones supplied with win update but im sure something is missing, in my device manager it has a unknown pci device, i don't have this in xp on the same machine...??

Answer:nVidia nForce2 Chipset Drivers For Windows 7?

Since you are trying drivers, did you try the Vista drivers? I loaded the Vista ones for my motherboard (Intel DX48BT2) which seem to be working OK. I did have to use the Compatibility troubleshooter to get them to load.

I am not recommending you install them, just passing along some information...
