Preferred Solution: lenovo 3000 G530 Takes Too much time to show lenovo logo

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

I have a Lenovo 3000 N100 laptop for the past two years.Apart from the famous battery issue with this laptop, I have not had any problems with this unit. Since yesterday, I am getting a black screen after logon to Windows XP.Yesterday, I was able to log on and then the laptop will go black after a minute or two after log on. Today, it has gotten worse, as soon as the Windows XP logo comes on, the screen goes black after a fewseconds. I also noticed that the Lenovo Icon displayed during Power On is also Teal in Color. I tried booting the laptop in Safe mode and the problem still remains.I tried booting the laptop using Windows XP CD and try to repair the Windows XP installation using R optionand still the screen goes black.  Please advice if this is a hardware or software or virus issue.

Answer:Lenovo 3000 N100 - Teal Color Lenovo Icon at Power Up then Windows XP logo then Black Screen

Hi there.  I have the same problem.  My screen is black all the time now with odd spurts of light occuring just after loading. My laptop is sadly out of guarantee so I cannot get any telephone help from IBM, however the chap I spoke to did hint that it was a problem with the LCD cable. Then I phoned my local PC repair man and he said it sounds like the bulb, because I can still faintly see the outline of whats on the screen through the "blackness". So.  Not sure! Have you come to any resolution yet?  Meantime I have my laptop pluggged into an external monitor until I get it fixed.  Susan

Try clearing the CMOS.  That procedure can be useful in correcting some boot up problems.  To clear the CMOS, do this.....

1. Unplug the charger / adapter. 2. Remove the battery. 3. Press and hold the Power Button for 15 seconds. 4. Re-install the battery, plug in the charger / adapter if needed and power up the system to see if the problem was resolved.

I bought myself a Lenovo 3000 G530 2 years ago and it was a great system and also my first ever laptop. After about a year i started having an issue with it. It started restarting at random intervals with no bluescreen problem and just went blank and then started up again. Eventually it started happening every 5 mins and now has become almost unusable. Ive tried re-installing windows and even tried windows 7 proffesional which it is running at this point. I spilt spiced gold on the keyboard a couple months after the problem started with the restarting and now that doesnt work either. But thats not the issue, the issue is that it frequently restarts itself and only sometimes gives me a blue screen stop error which is general STOP ERROR 0x00000007F ( think that is the amount of 0's in it ) and 0x00000008E.Also i find that after the blue screen error it will tell me that the problem occurs in the "minidump" and "temp" files as this is what it is telling me. Please somebody help me Thanks

Thanks for posting!

The PXE messages you're getting means the computer is not booting or starting to your Harddrive.

Try Pressing the F12 on the Lenovo Screen
F12 should give you all the available bootable drives/options.
see if your HDD/harddrive is detected or postback here what options you're getting

My laptop had screen flickering problem. I used to rectify same by slapping gently at top of it or by moving lid front and back. I was doing same and whole screen went off. When i went to repair shop he said motherboard issue is there 1500 rupees will be charged and asked to came in evening. He called me in afternoon and said your laptop has been rectified but display is too dim, when i installed FL (about 3-4 inches long strip which gives power to lcd) and it worked perfect and asked that 500 more will be charged for same. I said ok. When i went to shop it was working fine. I paid 2000 and took laptop home. When i opened it and started, i was shocked that there was no power in lcd, however laptop was working. I opened back cover of screen and tried touching FL connectors, nothing worked. I went back and told him, he installed new FL and again it did not work. He said lcd cable is faulty. He tried finding same and after few days said, it is not found. I took my laptop back along with 500 rupees for FL. Installed old FL again and ordered lcd cable online. Today, i installed cable on my own but lcd still not showing light, however laptop is working and shows too dim display. What is faulty???

The community forums are probally not the best place to be looking for this kind of advice, as it is a universal computer thing, not limited to your computer. There are plenty of articles that will tell you what to do if you use google.None the less, unless you're willing to shell out some good money, just use Audacity. Hi gmcfarlane, and welcome to the Lenovo User Community!

"MT 4446 only" means they are intended only for your model type.

The full driver matrix is here.

Can you be more specific about "only some seem to work properly"? Which drivers, what errors are you seeing? Are you doing both steps of the installation e.g. 1. Extract 2. Install, per the instructions for each driver?

Recently i bought a Lenovo y500 laptop with 12 ram and 16gigs of SSD. It came with Windows 8 by deffault and what i wanted was to install Linux Ubuntu 12.04 alognside with the Windows 8. It didn't work out, because i could only log into linux. When i tried to log in in Widonws it said: "unknown command drivemap      invalid EFI file path, so i used the one key recovery. It loaded Windows but i noticed 2 things:1st. After loading the Lenovo logo the screen turns black without the cursor on it and stays that way for about 17-25 sec. That means that from 20 sec boot time now it is 40+.How could i fix that one?2nd. After creating the backup i divided the 1tb disk into smaller discs and after the rocovery they were the way i left them with all the games and media on them. I thought that the one key recovery would undo the partiton i have made. The 2nd one isnt bugging me out so much but the 20 secs extra boot time do. The changes i have made in bios are disabling secure boot and switching boot mode from UEFI to legacy. After that i switched secure boot to enabled and the boot mode to UEFI as it was in the beginning.

Answer:Lenovo y500 black screen after the lenovo logo slows down boot time

hi psskobraa,

Welcome to the Lenovo Forums.

Regarding your questions:
1. The additional 17-25sec boot time is probably caused by the UEFI Firmware / UEFI boot loader (see this flowchart) - this probably got modified when you installed Ubuntu. Can you try to boot back into the BIOS, press F9 to load default settings then press F10 to save It settings. If this doesn't work, is the boot time the same when Disabling Secure Boot and UEFI set to Disabled/Legacy first?

2. OneKey Recovery usually reimage the OS partition only (i.e. C:\) and will not affect any other partitions (i.e. D:\)

Hello,This is my first post. I have been using my G530 for a couple of years and have been really happy with it. However, suddenly yesterday the Touchpad mouse stopped working. Neither the touchpad nor the left or right buttons are working. I have tried to update the driver and have tried all other suggestions, but I cannot get the touchpad to work.Any suggestions? Also, I have been having a problem with my screen flickering / flashing up and down, whilst this is a frequent problem it does mainly occur at start up and once past the login section the problem tends to go away.Any suggestions on improving this? I would really appreciate any comments about one or both problems.Thanking you.TK

Answer:Lenovo 3000 G530 Touchpad mouse & screen

hi TK,

Welcome to the Forums.

Regarding your issues:
1. For the Touchpad, try to turn the computer off and press the OneKey Recovery button and observe the touchpad functionality. If it doesn't work, try to re-seat the Touchpad cable that attaches to the mainboard and on the keybaord bezel (see this disassembly guide)
 Spoiler (Highlight to read)
2. For the flickering issue, this is commonly caused by a bad/loose LCD cable or a faulty LCD inverter (see this G530 full disassembly guide). If re-seating the LCD cable doesn't fix it, you will need to replace either the LCD cable, the LCD inverter, or both.

Hope this helps

Hello there! Besides: I'm from Germany - I hope you can understand what I wanna try to explain to you. *laughs* I bought a Lenovo 3000 G530 and installed Windows 7 Home Premium 32 bit on it.I installed all the drivers from the CD the shop sent. But the integrated camera doesn't work, because there came a message while installing the cam-driver: "No Matched Device Driver!" I think this means, that the camera needs another driver, that isn't on the CD. It's not the driver from the Lenovo website. I've tried that many times. How can I find out, what driver is really needed? Can I find out what name the camera really have -> which driver I really need? Or do I have to contact the customer service? Thanks for reading!

Answer:lenovo 3000 G530 Gprahics Driver problem

I had same problem. So what is wrong? Actioly it is because that driver on Lenovo website is not x64... it is x32... so looks like your destiny is to install Vista x32. Because there is no x64 video driver at all!N.B. I can say more - non of that drivers from Lenovo works good in x64 Vista... So i suggest you to install x32 Vista... Also I wanna give you advise: after you install video drivers from Lenovo website update video drivers from this website: http://www.laptopvideo2go.com/drivers Message Edited by ArpanaViraj on 04-06-2009 09:26 PM

Hello, I am new to note books and just got a Lenovo 3000 G530 with Vista. I am trying to figure out how to stop it from automatically going to whatever link the curser happens to move over. It is driving me nuts and want to put it on the normal double click in order to open a link.  I understand this may be a good feature for some but for me, it makes browsing rather difficult. Thank you Rich

Hey there guys and gals, I have a Lenovo Laptop 3000 series G530 (18 months old) and it causing me a few problems because it's extremely slow and almost always unresponsive to anything I do (webpages on most occasions are taking 30 - 40 minutes to load, Although here it only take 10 - 20 seconds :P).

Anyway I located a .VHD file and tried to use that restore it's previous state from last november (just before I returned it too the microsoft engineer who said he had fixed it when he hadn't (naughty engineer ), Anyway I managed to fix it myself that time round.

So I was posting in one of the threads here earlier about opening the .vhd file to access the windows file's before they became unresponsive (or whatever you want to call it ) and it turn's out that the .vhd file may be from just after the engineer tried to fix it or just before (not too sure it was the same day though ), Anywho I wanted to know how to do a factory restore on the computer without having the installation disc (and apparently no product key on the sticker below the battery on the bottom of the laptop, It's worn away so it's unreadable).

hi, iv'e got somes problems of dpc latency on my lenovo g530 4446 22g ( c900 processor, 160gb hard drive, 3gb of ram, no hdmi output, vista basic ).i know acpi.sys can be the cause but i can't find it with process explorer. Since we can't desactivate acpi in the bios i'd would like to know ( i'm actualized 1.09 ) where i can find the process if it has been renamed or other thing. it's for use with traktor serato 1.1 and i've got somes micro sound cuts in dpc latency checker iv'e many red bars. my system is in spanish. have a nice day,Mike   EDIT: i found an answer: ok with vista my dpc latency was high so iv'e tried with windows 7 and the latency was good 150ms and below (between 400ms and 1800ms with vista) but with red bars sometimes every 6secondes more or less ( seems more than 2000ms ) 2x less than on vista but still there. iv'e tried to disable some drivers it appears to be the 2 network card (wireless and ethernet) and the 2 battery acpi funcions on windows seven. (on vista i wasn't able to be without problems) so now i can work properly with serato scratch live if i disable the networks cards and the battery acpi funcions. it can be usefull with virtual dj, serato, traktor dj and every sound, tv, dtv or video card usb interface. i hope this can help others...have a nice day,Mike

Lenovo are not giving the right drivers for this computer. Modem as well. I have spent a week trying to get these drivers for my laptop for XP Pro. They keep sending emails that their drivers are all up to date and are working. Anyhow been doing computers since 1997 so I know what I am doing. Lenovo said that this computer is considered a  3000 G530 Push and it takes certain drivers for XP. I don't know why they can't help us with these drivers. Anyone have this problem or have solved it? This computer came with Vista Home Basic and I got rid of the Vista to use XP is all. So audio and modem. They claim that they were going to send me the drivers thru UPS but I have not seen them yet.

Vista clams they are plugged in and working but they are not. If I click test they will produce sound on there own without the onboard speakers doing so but that is the only way they will work. Apparently this is a bug with vista.

Hi, I spilled some liquid onto my mouse trackpad last year and now the trackpad isn't working efficiently. It won't record touched clicks some of the times and sometimes there's a lag in pointer movement. I was looking at replacing either the mouse touch pad or the whole palmrest, whichever would fix the problem.  What do you all suggest? Should I only replace the touchpad (mousepad), or the whole palmrest, or both? I found both these parts on ebay for decent prices. (Ebay item#380547734619 and 181085718458) I didn't care about it as much until now because I've been using a usb mouse all the time. But using the touchpad sometimes drives me crazy. Everything else works perfect with the laptop.  Any help will be appreciated. Also, links to replacement guides would be awesome.  Thanks

Answer:Lenovo 3000 G530 Mouse Trackpad replacement? Or should I replace the whole palmrest?

hi gonesss,

The Touchpad Assembly usually contains the palm rest and the touchpad itself (see this part).

Replacing the touchpad (Item number: 181085718458) should be enough to fix clicking/tapping problems. Try to get this one first and check keyboard bezel removal on the Hardware removal and installation - Lenovo G530.

Hope this helps.

I recently bought a new Lenovo 3000 G530 4151 57Q Notebook and installed Windows XP on it. When I tried installing the drivers that I received with the Notebook, most of them did not work. Later I got an update from my dealer that those are only for Window Vista. He provided me whatever drivers he had with him for XP. He could not provide me with the Camera drivers, and a couple of what he had provided did not work. I also searched for it on the Lenovo website but the camera drivers for this model is not listed anywhere. I found one on the website; however, there is a note that the drivers are only for the model Lenovo G530 MT 4446. Hence, I am not sure if those will work for 4151 57Q. You can find below the note that is there on the Lenovo website:This package installs or updates the Bison/Chicony Camera Driver for Microsoft Windows Vista 32-bit and Windows XPThe following systems are supported:- 3000 N500- Lenovo G530 (MT 4446 only) It would be great if someone can help on this? hi HAMED_PFG,

Welcome to the Forums.

Remove all connected peripherals on the machine and when the machine powers up and it shows the lenovo logo, can you press Fn+F2 to boot into the BIOS and check if the HDD is detected.

If the HDD is not detected, and you're still under warranty, I recommend you contact lenovo and report the problem. Otherwise, you may want to consider reseating the drive and observe:

Hello there, guys. I had purchased my Lenovo G500 just last year, and I haven't used it much. Usually I write some letters, watch my university lectures and sometimes a movie and I always scan my laptop for virusesses as well and try to keep as less as data as possible. I have 386gb free out of 424gb in C drive and 21gb free out of 27gb in the other drive, these are the only two drives I have. I don't have any additional software installed in my laptop apart from VLC Media Player, and I've deleted a few default applications such as Skype, Viber, PowerDVD, Zinio Reader and so on as I didn't need them. Now the issue is very simple - When I press the start button, the "Lenovo: screen appears and it stays there for even hours sometimes, it just won't start no matter how long do I wait. I keep restartting and restarting until it finally starts, but even that process takes at least 4 minutes to come to the :Welcome: screen. Howevr when I had newly purchased the laptop, it used to start within few seconds and even for months. This issue is occuring for few months, 2 or 1 specifically that I'm not sure about but no more than 2 months. I want you guys to tell me what appropriate and necessary steps I should take in order to get it back to its same old and new starting speed, my laptop is very clean and rarely used.

Hi I'm having this strange issue. My x120e randomly hangs at bios boot logo (lenovo logo). I have to shut it down manually and back it on. Until now it hangs only when I restart it. The only device attached is the usb wireless mouse. Did anyone had the same problem? Any ideas what is causing this? abvasili

I'm just a volunteer. I like to help others where I can. Do my ideas work? I hope so. o_OWho helped you today? Do not forget to thank him.My hardware: TP x120e 0596-2ru. Windows 7, sp1, 64Bit, English, installed in UEFI mode.

Answer:x120e hags at boot time at lenovo logo

Go into BIOS F1 setup, look in the startup menu.  I think the option is called "boot mode" or something like that.  The default is "quick" but you can also set it to "diagnostic" where instad of seeing the lenovo logo, you'll see diagnostic information from the BIOS.  See if that gives you any clues.

Hi guys,I have a T460S, everything working fine, except that when I turn it on, it takes around 10 seconds to pass the lonovo logo screen. It seems a little long to me, compared with T450S and T440S when it takes less than 2 seconds to pass the lonovo logo on boot. Is it just mine or is it something all T460S share?Things I already tried:- updating BIOS (v1.16)- restoring BIOS defaults- resetting internal battery

I have a Lenovo 3000 N100, Model Type 0689-29UWill power up but only stay on for a short time (less than two minutes usually) before it shuts down without any errors. Does not stay on long enough to run hardware diagnostics. Have replaced the following items so far: 1) Main System Board (motherboard)2) Both Memory Modules3) Power Adapter (power brick)4) Hard Drive5) Battery Still the same results. I am not thinking that the CPU may be either bad and/or it is heating up. I am not sure how the fan on this unit is supposed to behave. In other words, I am not sure if it is supposed to be on all the time or not. When I first power the system up, the fan comes on just for a few seconds then goes off and never comes back on again. I assume that is because this unit's fan is supposed to come on only when needed although not sure. If anyone has any ideas and/or any feedback on anything I have written above, I would greatly appreciate your input. Thank you.

My newly purchased y500 laptop has developed hanging problem and mother board replacement was advised by lenovo service engineer. 20 days have passed but mother board has not yet arrived in India leave alone the repairs and testing. How many days it will take?

Answer:how much time Lenovo takes for replacement of mother board under warranty (Y500)

hi ukjain,

Welcome to the Forums.

Usually. if the the spare part(s) are not available for the repair, there should be an ETA/ETS on the spare parts before the service team starts the computer repair. I recommend you ask for the ETA/ETS as this is normally the basis before the service center schedules the computer for repair and also to give you an idea how long will it take before you get the computer back from the service center.

In order to connect the Lenovo 3000 Desktop to my network and by the router to the internet, I installed a Netgear W111v3 USB adapter. The device works, but it lasts more than 1 minute after starting up my account until the desktop is connected to the router. In all other of my computers it needs only somme seconds. When I tried an adapter of another company on the Lenovo, it lasts 20 additional seconds more. Possibly the Lenovo has problems to identify the USB adapter.

Answer:WLAN- USB-Adapter on Lenovo 3000 Desktop needs plenty of time to connect

I have a Airlink MIMO XR AWLL5025 adaptor and once the software is installed it's a breeze. Once Vista kicks in and the side bar show the adaptor is already connected to the router/ internet.  I would say that check the software to make sure your connections are at max and go from there.  Other choice is to check that you are connected at the router (hard wire) to see if the same speeds are obtained on connection.  Last choice get a new adaptor. hope that helps.

Answer:Lenovo e49 3464 won't boot after the lenovo logo in black background keeps popping up

Welcome to the forum!

Could you tell us a bit more about the history of events that led up to your problem today?   What Operating system do you have installed on the system?

When was the last time it was working properly, yesterday?   Did you shut it down, or hibernate or sleep?

If you restart now, can you get into BIOS?  If you go into BIOS, can you see your hard disk recognized?

If you try to restart and press F12, can you get a boot device list?  If so, is your hard disk recognized?

Do you have any disks in the optical drive?

If you check the USB ports, are any of them broken with pins bent touching each other?

Hello this is my first post and I hope someone could lend me a hand. I have a Lenovo B series laptop, more specifically a B570. I've had it for over a year and a half now and it was working fine until I started to see some problems. My first encounter was sartup issues. The machine normally laggs whenever Windows boots up to the user screen. I checked for that and the problem was variface login and the fingerprint reader. Seems like they both caused a delay with the boot. Anyways I got pass that by not shutting down but hibernating.  A few months back I decided then to shut down my machine and that was my mistake. It started up and then lagged, I normally corrected this by jus holding the power botton and starting it up till it works. That worked for a while till that moment. I realized when I powered it down, it refused to pass the Lenovo boot screen and whenever I select F2/F8 all I get is "please wait..." and that lasts for hours. I tried replacing the harddrive, formatting it externally NOTHING. I tried troubleshooting such as RAM replacement n all but still no luck. Even removed the RAM and didnt even get a beep or nothing. Lights are on also. I even resored to CMOS battery pull and NOTHING seems to work. I also noticed that when this happens the processor fan stops spinning also. I really need to solve this issue due to me going to university and all.  Please Help! Thanks.

Answer:URGENT HELP! LENOVO B570 wont pass Lenovo Boot Logo.

hi Netflame,

Welcome to the Lenovo Community.

Can you try the following:
1, Remove the AC adapter and Battery then press & hold the power button for 30secs (this drains the power off the unit).
2. Reseat the CPU (see page 62 of the hardware maintenance manual)
3. After reseating CPU (if applicable, re=apply a thermal compound) and reconnect the following:

a. Fan and Heatsink Assembly
b. Systemboard Assembly
c. Memory Module
d. Keyboard Bezel

4. If applicable, use an external USB keyboard to boot into the BIOS, otherwise, reconnect also the Keyboard and try to boot into the BIOS by pressing or holding down F2. You could also try to press F12 to enter BIOS setup.

If you get into the BIOS,  press F9 to set BIOS to default and press F10 to save and exit BIOS. After exiting, power off the computer and reconnect the remaining peripherals.

If the above procedure doesn't work, you probably have a bad CPU, bad GPU, or a bad motherboard and you need to call lenovo or a local repair store to have it serviced.

Caution:
The CPU is extremely sensitive. When you service the CPU, avoid any kind of rough handling.

Edit: added maintenance manual link

Hope this helps.

Hello everyone, I have a problem with my Lenovo G500s  1.1 years (1 year & 1 month). It worked perfectly until last month. It started to freeze. I restarted the computer (btw I was using licenced win8 back then) and then the lenovo logo showed up and it stuck there. I was waiting for about 10 minutes, but nothing happened. I turned it off manually, and then turned it on,it was still frozen. after some trial of startup,  it worked normally. After 2 days it happened again. I thought it was the system, so I deleted the windows8 and installed windows8.1 licensed, it worked for a month and then again (last night) it just freezes at startup (lenovo logo shows up). Till now its frozen. I restarted it several times, it didnt work. I also pulled out battery & started on AC power which didnt work too. Obviously, i dont have warranty. Does anyone knows what could be the possible problem? I dont Know what to do. plz help...Thanks in advance!

I've never had an easy use with this PC eversince I purchased it. It first rejected Windows 7 to be installed due to BIOS incompatibility which I had been warned before. I flashed the new BIOS version shared across the forum that worked for some people, it worked for me too. Then just yesterday when I turned it on, it went into Lenovo logo for few seconds then restarted. It kept repeating the boot loop before I ran the power down to shut it completely. Already ran a system diagnose but found nothing. This already occurred before when I had to perform a windows fresh reinstallation for a constant fix, it runs normally for couple of weeks till yesterday when the problem came back. Any ideas on what to do in this situation ?

I have recently started a new job and the company have purchased me a Thinkpad S230u. I have it hooked up to two screens and running it with the lid closed. I am also running through a thinkpad docking station. When the appliance goes to sleep it takes 10-15 seconds to awaken and present the log in screen. This happens regardless of being attached to the docking station and/or connected to a power supply. I have also checked that the Hybrid mode is switched off in the power options but still taking a very long time. Any tips on fixing this? Thanks in advance.
