Preferred Solution: [Lenovo Ideapad S410p] Help me ! Please ! BIOS of my laptop was corrupted BIOS firmware

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Answer: [Lenovo Ideapad S410p] Help me ! Please ! BIOS of my laptop was corrupted BIOS firmware

Unfortunately the Lenovo Download library does not have BIOS updates available for either of the models you have listed. What you might do is a search on the Internet to see if a website like BIOS Mods has something available.

I have a DELL 660s which no longer boots after a failed windows 10 install.  Unfortunately, it's just a few months out of warranty.
When I power the computer on the fan starts and I see a brief period of hard drive activity but the screen doesn't activate - just a blank, black screen.  I don't even see the DELL logo and I'm unable to access BIOS.
I believe the BIOS firmware was corrupted by the failed Windows 10 install.  I've tried removing the CMOS battery overnight but this didn't help.  At this point I believe I need to flash stable firmware onto the BIOS chip, which is all the more difficult since the computer won't boot and I can't access BIOS.
Based on my research manufacturers of BIOS chips often include emergency recovery procedures to fix corrupted BIOS firmware.  For example the manufactuer AMI includes an embedded "boot block" which can sometimes be used to boot from floppy / flash usb and install new firmware even when the existing BIOS firmware is corrupted.  See: https://techjourney.net/recover-or-undo-corrupt-ami-bios-flash-update/
I'd like to try something like this but I don't know where to start.  I guess the first thing I need to know is who is the manufacturer of the BIOS chip in my DELL 660s computer?  Can anyone help me answer this question?
I found one vague reference on google that mentions AMI is the manufacturer but I'm not sure if the source is accur... Read more

Answer:Recover Corrupted BIOS Firmware

I wanted to add that I've downloaded the BIOS install file from Dell's website for the 660s.  The filename is named "Inspiron 660s Vostro 270s A11 BIOS.exe".
I've read online that I may need to extract the rom or header file from this executable file but I've been unsuccessful in doing that.  The example I've seen say to run the executable file from the command line with the /writeromfile or /writehdrfile flags.
When I try this nothing happens except that I receive an error message stating this is not a DELL computer (I'm running the executable file from my HP laptop).

Hello my friends ! A time ago i bouhgt two Lenovo ideapad 100 14 IBY (FreeDos Version) and install Windows 10 on it with UEFI and GPT Partition Table. All works fine until i want to play around with Linux and install UBUNTU Mate in UEFI on one of them. The install was easy but the Performance on Ubuntu with Bay Trail and the don't working Bluetooth was a reason to switch back to Windows 10. After that the Problem beginns. The Bios don't let me save changes anymore (only time and date !). There was no UEFI ESP and GPT Support since i install UBUNTU and the Bios Menu looks like that:Bios Entries on a blank DiskBootingThe Disk is Blank there is no ubuntu on there (Don't know waht the EFI Entries are no Hardware is connected). And when I boot also go to Network Boot there.(No Matter a USB Stick is connected). So what i did: # I Dismantle it and disconnect Battery and Cell and wait half an hour. # Nothing changes !# I change the HDD. # Nothing changes !# Reflash the BIOS by edit the plattform.ini - CheckByBios=1 - Error Cannot mount EFI Partition. # Nothing changes !# Install Windows 10 - Make mbr2gpt.exe and bcdedit and bootrec. # Nothing changes ! I can install and run Windows 10 in MBR and BIOS Mode on it. But no USB Stick was displayed in Boot Menu. So now Iam on my Limit and the Question is there a way to put UEFI and GPT back on it or does the BIOS locked in this State. For me UEFI is MALEWARE so why can a simple UBUNTU damaged my BIOS and ... HI, Please skip to paragraph six for the actual issue I am having--the preceding paragraphs include info that may help to identify how to fix this. I am posting this using my HP desktop running Windows 7 as my Lenovo Ideapad 110 cannot connect to internet as explained below: Firstly, Sorry if I am breaking community guidelines in any way with this post. I did multiple searches but only came up with "forgot my BIOS password-how can I reset it" type posts. I am looking for urgent help to get back into the "BIOS" of my Lenovo IdeaPad 110 running preinstalled Windows 10. Everything was running fine until yesterday. This is when I made the mistake of thinking I knew more about the system than I actually seem to lol :/ So, yesterday--I entered the "BIOS" screen upon startup using F2 (function key+F2). I went on to disable wireless connection ability (to test something unrelated), and also switched Boot from strait UEFI boot mode to legacy/UEFI boot-with UEFI being the default boot option.  I don't know if any of the above have to do with the issue I am now having but I wanted to share it just in case. Here is the real issue as of now: Also yesterday at the same time while in "BIOS", I also went on to set an "admin password", the one you must type in before you can even get to the lenovo splash screen to enter "BIOS". Basically I believe this is referred to as a POST password although I am not an expert cleary (hence asking for the experts' he... Read more

Answer:Lenovo B50-30 bios corrupted after bios update

hi nikola1970,

Welcome to the Forums.

Can you try the following:
1. Do a hard shutdown by holding the power button for 10secs.
2. Press the OneKey Recovery button and see if you get the Novo Button Menu where you can access the BIOS or even perform a factory restore via System Recovery.
   - Link to picture

3. If accessing the BIOS works but you're not able to restore Windows, you can try the following:

Option A:
  a. Contact lenovo and request for a recovery disc and/or to reflash the BIOS (you may need to send the unit in this case).
    - Support phone list

Option B:
  b. Check this guide on how to obtain a Windows 8.1 ISO (see Option One)
  c. When finished, follow this guide to make a bootable UEFI Win8.1 installer via DVD or USB flashdrive and use it to install Windows (the installation should be able to detect the Windows 8.1 product key in the UEFI firmware that will let you activate Windows).
  d. If successful, obtain the drivers from the lenovo drivers page .

Answer:Can the GPU of my Lenovo Ideapad S410P Touch's be changed?

Good day and welcome to the community.

As with most laptops that include discrete graphics, the dGPU is soldered to the system board, and so, is not upgradeable. The only exception on some models would be if there were different dGPU-equipped system boards offered. In that case, a system board swap would be the only upgrade avenue.

Looking at pg78 of the S410P hardware manual: https://download.lenovo.com/consumer/mobiles_pub/ideapad_s410ps410ptouchs510ps510ptouch_hmm.pdfthere appear to be 2 system board variants: integrated or discrete graphics, with 3 subvariants each: no OS, Win8Std or Win8Pro.

Hope this helps to clarify a bit.
Regards.

Hey guys. I have a problem with my lenovo laptop. See, I just left it "on" because I received a call and then when I got back to my laptop, it's just all black! I tried to reboot it (pressing the power button at least 10secs until it turns off and then turned it on again), removing the battery for a while and then putting it back, depended solely on the power cord, pressing the power button for 30secs whilst unplugged from the power cord and the battery, but still no luck. It's just black. With the backlight. Not even the Lenovo logo shows up. I tried pressing buttons like the f9 and f12 to adjust brightness, but that's it. The lights flicker as if responding to the buttons. But no display at all. No letters. No codes. No logo. Nothing. Please help. This laptop has my life in it. :'( And I don't even think it's my fault. I did not touch it or did anything for it to be like this. Plsplspls help me. ((

I have a Dell Latitude D630. It has an admin password for the bios. Nothing is locked except for the settings. I can't change any of the settings in the bios. It lets me boot to windows just fine though. My question is, since I don't know that admin password for the bios, if I upgrade the bios firmware, will the admin password be deleted? Since I'm flashing the bios, I would think that all the settings will be lost. Is that the case?

Hi There,

I just built a desktop with a sabertooth x79 motherboard, and am running Windows 8.1 pro 64-bit. When I click the UEFI BIOS Firmware live tile via the change PC settings>update and recovery>recovery>etc. my computer reboots normally to Windows and will not open BIOS. I have tried accessing it using the delete and f2 keys, but this does nothing either.

Any ideas? I am up to date in terms of my BIOS, and am definitely running UEFI and not legacy.

Thank you so much.

Hello guys!                   This is Kamesh. And I own a Lenovo B490 (20205) laptop that was provided by Govt. of TN. I had the B460 before. I tried to update the correct BIOS on B460 that was downloaded from Lenovo IN site. And it worked perfectly without any problem. The Govt. of TN logo disappeared and the normal Lenovo Logo appeared on B460. So this is fine. Now that I have the B490 and I tried the same. I downloaded the BIOS update from Lenovo IN site by inputting my Laptop serial number and it showed my laptop as Lenovo B490 which is correct. So, I saw that the BIOS update was available. I decided to download and install it. I had Windows 10 64 bit in my Laptop. I installed it and I started the BIOS update it showed me the usual warnings such as Connect AC adapter. I did all the things (I've previous experience of updating the BIOSes). So, it started to flashing the BIOS and after some time the laptop didn't turn on. Found out that the BIOS didn't post. The screen was complete black. I have no copy of previous working BIOS. Now that my Laptop won't post. I tried many methods on internet to recover the BIOSes. I tried the WinCrisis.exe method and found out that it works only with Phoenix BIOS. And I have Insyde BIOS. Please let me know if you can help me with this. Do any one of you have backup of the Govt. of TN BIOS backup? If so, how can I recover the BIOS and reset it to normal state. Hello there and good afternoon from Spain!I bought a couple of days ago a "Lenovo Yoga 11 Ideapad" wich really comes in handy when writting or working with minor tasks... Way better than working with a normal tablet... The issue here is that, it camed with Windows RT 8.1 and it won't let me install any application rather from the ones from the "Windows Market", I've also tried entering some command using W+R and then activating an option that it should let me install any other programs with no problems but nothing happens... Cause of this, I'm decided in downgrading my system to W.7, problem is, that I've been searching along the internet and nothing seems to work with my 11 yoga series, I have no "Novo" button or "OKR" key... I've tried also the combination of Fn+F2, Fn+F12, Fn+F11, the Windows Key (Not the one at the keyboard) + F3(Volume Up) but nothing seems to happen... It just loads Windows... I've also tried on going to advanced startup, but found that I don't have the "UEFI" options either... Does anyone can give me a hand with this? It's my first touch with this system an with a ultrabook like this and I'm really lost. Thanks all! P.S: I've tried like every single thing said here in the community too!

Hi Everyone, I would just like to share this little issue I have with this new laptop I bought - I got this Lenovo Ideapad S410p touch from the Lenovo branch in SM Cubao, Philippines. This issue seems to repeat when I let my laptop stay idle, it would automatically go to the boot menu. After choosing the option to boot from disk drive, or pressing ESC it just goes back to boot menu and not boot the OS. Then I would need to long press and hold the power button so I could turn it off then turn it back on. Have you guys ever had this issue? I keep getting this one and have been searching the internet/forums without fruition. Hope devs from Lenovo take a look at this one. Laptop is about a month old and is already acting up.

If windows 8 was preinstalled. try this guidehttp://www.makeuseof.com/tag/how-to-access-the-bios-on-a-windows-8-computer/Or else this is happening because of hybrid shutdown. It is the shutdown in which the mac hine actually doesnt shuts down but it goes to a hibernate knd of state. and as known, one cannot access bios after hibernation. So please for if this the case, restart the machine and see that in the process of restart you are able to access bios.

Hi! So, my laptop won't boot at all right now. First though, the back-story. I purchased a Samsung 850 Evo SATA form factor SSD to replace the 1 TB HDD I had in my computer. Supposedly, I successfully cloned my Windows installation onto the SSD and was ready to switch out the drive. Long story short, winload.efi was non-functional on the SSD, so I couldn't boot from it (this caused the first appearance of my sad face). During this time, I switched the hard drives about 4 times so that I could get my laptop functional to look up how to fix my winload problem. I put my SSD in my computer (again), sealed up the case and booted it up. Windows attempted to load, told me that it couldn't, and offered to open up my UEFI/BIOS settings. So, I opened up the BIOS settings, and that is where my current issue began. Once in the BIOS settings, I hit escape so I could exit the settings and have my computer boot from a Windows 10 64-bit Recovery CD in order to restore my winload.efi. Well, I exited the BIOS at least. Immediately after exiting the UEFI firmware settings, the screen went black. I waited about 5 minutes, then decided to push and hold the power button to shut the computer off. It worked, and I attempted to power the computer back on. At this point, the power button's LED lit up, and the WiFi antenna LED turned red (see the images attached further down), but nothing happened. My Lenovo Z410 came with v37 BIOS dated 2013.I went to Lenovo website and downloaded and ran 8DCN40WW.exeInstead of taking normal time to flash, Windows started rebooting after only a couple sec. No bootup. No beep. No Lenovo logo. Power light comes on. Blank screen (no backlight). After 50+ bootup attempts I sometimes get the blue error message at bootup:InsydeH20 invalid firmware image. After changing RAM positions, and trying the Lenovo "rescue" bootup button, I got a bootup.CPU-Z still shows the BIOS is V37 (ie it didn't flash). I know I have Secure Boot enabled. So, to fix this I believe I need to force flash the old v37 BIOS image. SUGGESTIONS?HELP?

Answer:BIOS v40 flash failed on Lenovo Z410. No boot (screen blank). InsydeH20 invalid image firmware!

Forgot to mention.I already tried "draining power". IE disassembling my laptop, and disconnecting the battery and AC adapter, and holding power button for 60sec+ many times. It doesn't fix the issue. Also, the RAM position etc, obviously has nothing to do with anything. I was able to bootup with exact same 2x DIMM config as originally.

Hello, How can we send a request to Lenovo for ASAP release of a BIOS update/patch for removing the BIOS whitelist restriction? I know so many people suffering from this issue and I will personally never buy Lenovo again due to this restrction. Who would want to buy a computer that cannot be upgraded? Why does Lenovo care anyway to restrict this matter when the warranty is broken anyway if the back cover is opened so why not let the user do what he wants? Anyone from Lenovo, please reply, I am very disappointed.

Your BIOS is only updateable through the windows platform. Are you stating that you can not get into the BIOS settings?  Page 27 of the user guide shows how to access BIOS setup, using the Novo button, from a POWERED DOWN machine.https://download.lenovo.com/ibmdl/pub/pc/pccbbs/mobiles_pdf/v310_14isk-15isk_ug_en.pdf

Answer:Enter Bios Lenovo Ideapad YOGA 11

Hi coucoune1633 ,

Welcome to the Lenovo Community.

To enter the BIOS , turn off the pc and use the Novo key (item1 page12) to power on .
Novo menu would appear offering BIOS set up (for changing boot options etc. )
System recovery option from one key recovery initial back up would delete everything and restore to factory defaults.

About booting to safe mode:
Since starting with Windows 8 and up , usual F8 on boot is deeply embedded on the recovery making it hard to access.

If Windows cannot boot to a viable stage for to access advance recovery menu :

1. Shift + F8 works on some system , do it at same time you see the lenovo splash screen repeatedly.

2. Forcing recovery mode on windows 8 : turn on then suddenly turn off pressing the power button , then on and off again for 2-3 attempts , Turn on and see if recovery screen would show up for the advance option.

3. Some system have F11 / F12 on BIOS to launch the recovery / boot option

4. Using a bootable media ( USB rescue image often useful for repair / back up  , using Windows media creation tool  )
If Windows 8/10 does not start: (using the command line)
How to boot into Safe Mode from the Windows 8/10 installation media or recovery USB flash drive.

Hello everyone.  My Ideapad Z570 refuses to show the bios screen after it turns on.  What happens is the power led and media bar will light, but no other activity happens.  It has been diagnosed that the bios chip needs to be re-flashed.  How do you perform an emergency bios recovery on the Z570?  The methods described for the Y560 do NOT work for me, although the laptop tries to access the USB drive when holding fn + R. Any and all help is appreciated, I am avoiding to contact Lenovo since the warranty is expired. (or any tips on negotiating with Lenovo support helps too)

Answer:Lenovo Ideapad Z570 Bios Recovery

If a BIOS recovery was possible you would need to have a bootable machine to do it.  From your description it sounds like your system is hanging during the boot process.  If that is the case then a defective piece of hardware will prevent the machine from sucessfully booting.  Try removing all hardware items from the laptop such as the hard drive, optical drive, wireless/lan card(s) and memory.  With the memory removed, the machine should at least beep an error code.  If the system shows any sign of life then start re-installing hardware one piece at a time.  Put the memory back in one module at a time and try booting.  If it still shows life then add another piece of hardware.  Keep doing this until the no boot scenario returns.  That should give you an indication of what hardware item is causing the problem.

I upgraded the computer to Windows 10. The upgrade failed.  The BIOS was set to fast boot or boot boost by the Windows 10 installation, and now I am unable to reset the BIOS to normal boot and unable to change the boot order to be able to boot off a DVD.  The normal F2, Fn+F2 combinations are not fast enough or simply do not work with new BIOS setting that Windows 10 imposed on me.  I need to revert the BIOS to default settings so that I can reinstall everything.  Please let me know if you have solution to this weird problem imposed on the users by Microsoft.  Thank you. Pradip Sagdeo

(There is no solid solution) Okay, so I have got a Lenovo z580 which I wanted to install Ubuntu via Wubi on. As you may expect, it did not work (possibly due to the SecureBoot feature). Anyhow, since then, I still can see the blue window (4 options) when I press OneKey recovery "Novo Button" button but not able to access to my system BIOS. I have tried: Pressing repeatedly F1, F2, B, F12, Delete, Fn + F2 (each in different attempts).Holding F1, F2, B, F12, Delete, Fn + F2 (each in different attempts) before pressing Power button.Holding F1, F2, B, F12, Delete, Fn + F2 (each in different attempts) just right after pressing Power button.Turned the machine off, pressed OneKey recovery button "Novo Button".Taken out battery and AC cord, held Power button for 30 secs and then put the battery in.Taken out the internal HDD and follow the number 5 attempt.Gone to UEFI settings via Windows 8 (Shift+restart)Tried the bootrec.exe /fixmbr command.Reset the machine to factory settings using the 4th option in the OneKey recovery.Checked my HDD partitions against a healthy machine to make sure I have all the factory pre-defined partitioned (Positive).*NO SUCCESS WHATSOEVER* I remember before the incident, when I used to go into the BIOS settings, the boot order was HDD first (mean... hi ciscosoft,

Can you try the following:
1, Boot into Windows (on the stock HDD) and insert the 2.5" SSD on a  2.5" USB SATA Enclosure.
2. Download and install  Paragon Backup & Recovery 12 Home (free trial)
3. Run the Paragon Backup & Recovery 12 Home and choose Hard Disk Migration to migrate the OS from the HDD into the SSD (see complete guide here)

4. When finished, shut the computer off, take out the HDD (see page 35-39 of the hardware maintenance manual), remove the SSD out of the USB enclosure and insert it in the laptop.

5. Turn the computer ON and observe (if the boot priority is different, you may need to press F12 on power-up and choose the SSD drive to boot into Windows).

Hope this helps

I'm hoping somebody will help me out of this nightmare. Cause i'm searching and searching across the net for an answer for this the whole day and i didn't find any accurate solutions for this.Well to start, i just updated my laptop's BIOS two days ago because i just saw on lenovo's website that there is an update file for the BIOS and I rapidly DL it and installed as per instruction, it was running fine after that but i just noticed that the system start up and even shutdown takes centuries to finish. Then i turned it on sleep having the screen facedown to the keyboard, and noticeably the 4 indicator lights are still lighted up for approximately 5mins before the laptop totally turned to sleep mode. Then I turned it on at the evening and voila! It is not booting up to the log in screen, it just gives me a background wallpaper for the log in screen without the avatar box and password in put box. After the BIOS screen loads, it offers me two options:(1) Launch Startup Repair [recommended as it says](2) Start windows normallyI tried both but still having the same result. And one option that i tried is to reformat the laptop instead because onekey recovery is also not a dependable solution. But lo and behold!!! It also stuck into a part where it says "starting up the setup".I really don't know what to do now!!! Please Lenovo team help me! I'm kinda smash the screen here! Its just that BIOS update is the Major update in my laptop after 4yrs of purchase. Help!

Hi,  have a bricked Lenovo Z570 machine that is not able to boot any Windows 7 retail disc or Ubuntu disc (to perform a recovery). My partition table is a mess right now (can not boot anything) and I can not reinstall either since every single disc I try (including Boot Repair) will not boot, crash or hang as with Windows 7 one that hangs at the "Starting Windows" screen. My machine came with a certain BIOS version (can not remember which), l was able to install a retail Windows 7 Pro and dual Ubuntu 12.04 boot (so far, so good) BUT then I had the TERRIBLE idea of updating my BIOS to 45CN38WW and now it seems it will not boot anything!!! I can not even change the boot order in my VERY limited Phoenix SecureCore Tiano BIOS. I have tried everything...Windows XP, Windows 7 (several versions), Ubuntu 11.x, Ubuntu 12.x and Ubuntu 14.x and all of them fail (Ubuntu even complains about a kernel error and reports something related to the BIOS so my guess is that it is the only thing that explains this behavior).I'm looking for an OLD version of the BIOS for this computer, I just need a download link since telephone support agent said to me that the only BIOS available is the one in the Downloads page for the Z570, I really can not believe that there is no other link to previous versions of software components. Thanks for the help

Welcome to the Lenovo Community !

After a BIOS update it doesn't hurt to do a reset of the BIOS.  Just do this.........

1. Unplug the charger / adapter. 2. Remove the battery. 3. Press and hold the Power Button for 15 seconds. 4. Re-install the battery, plug in the charger / adapter if needed and power up the system to see if the problem was resolved.

As for obtaining your earlier BIOS version that might not be possible unless someone has it available on the Internet.  Lenovo unfortunately does not have older BIOS versions available, only the latest release.

Hi all,I recently bought a Lenovo S410p and wanted to install Window 7 - Home Edition. I faced a number of issues - At BIOS level, then it refused to detect USB 2.0, then it refused to install latest Nvidia GEForce drivers (need to install some intel driver but no idea which one it should be!) . It was a nightmare! While doing that, I realized, my touch pad was a bit damaged, the buttons seem to be depressed, it was causing a ridge between the pad and the keys - quite annoying. I took it back to the stores, they did not have another S410p - Hence I settled for the larger screen S510p - paid the difference. Good service from Lenovo! Now back home and tried installing Windows 7 - All the same problems surfaced again. Tinkered for a week and no luck! Then I decided to clean everything up and start from scratch. Trust me it worked this time! I am not a computer geek but a normal user with very limited/basic knowledge. Let me explain what I did,I. How on earth did you get this working? I've just installed Windows 7 Ultimate x64 on a brand new Lenovo Ideapad S410p, and NONE of the drivers will install properly without the machine physically locking up! They extract into the C:\drivers folder correctly, then after accepting terms and conditions, the install starts and randomly locks the machine. It's taken me a day just to get the Intel Chipset and Management steps done, but the LAN driver just will not take.

So heres my problem, i wont lie my z580 aint new one , its been guess already 2-3 years; well for the first year, remember being able to change uefi settings, but then it somehow was unchangeable; however i didnt think that it ll be an issue, i mean no big deal, at least not worthy to register in forums or contacting support center as m tooo lazy; well then 2-3 days ago i accidentally deleted windows 8 boot entry, and its not big deal as with cmd u can back it up, however i tried with shift + reboot automatic repair first as i knew if i turn pc off i wdnt be able to boot as no bios option available and thought automatic repair is guaranteed option however it turned out that automatic repair cdnt fix it and it made me reboot, and thats how i got stuck and not being able to change anything, whenever u boot it says bcd is missing, and only available option is esc=change uefi settings which ll just reboot and endless loop, i tried every combination keys to try to discover that bios key, nothing, and here is the problem even if i try to repair with windows 8 cd it wont boot it, it ll just keep saying bcd is missing as i cant prioritize cd rom over hdd; so after rampaging for 5 hours i discovered some new option, it turns out that novo button actually works but instead of pressing it when laptop is booting u have to press it while its turned off, and then 4 new menus but after trying them all i discovred that they dont function as well at least half of them , as bios setup and norm... Hello everyone, I know thta it is already many topics about accesing BIOS issues, but here I have got an Lenovo U310 laptop which is doesnt boot to the system even, so I have to change the boot priority in the BOIS setting which I cant acces. By using guides how to reflash BOIS by using a pen drive https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/Lenovo-U-and-S-Series-Notebooks/Bios-Recovery-For-ideapad-laptops/td-p/...I do everything by this guide, but when I try to boot from pen drive by using win_key+B or any different keys I have the same result: Flash Crisis recovery diskRemove and press any key.Ped drive is blinking each time I press any key and after 1-2 sec stops.Pen drive is made properly by giude and .wph file as bios.wph for U310 (65CN13WW.wph) copied to the pen drive with files "MINIDOS.SYS"-"PHLASH16.EXE".In additional photos I have my main problem of laptop which doesnt boot the system but shows thi messages.

Hi there I am unable to enter the bios on my Z580 ideapad. This was after I discovered that I cannot change the boot sequence (to install the Windows 8.1 preview via ISO). I have attempted all the following options without success:1. Hit F2 during boot2. Hit FN-F2 during boot3. Hold down B during boot4. Use the Lenovo OneKey recovery button, and selecting the option Bios Setting (this should definitely work)5. Windows 8 Advanced Restart6. Tried F5, F8, F10, F11 and F12 during boot7. Tried DEL button during boot8. Turning off Windows fastboot and re-attempting steps 1 to 7 above. Nothing works. Lenovo, why is this not working? RegardsJoe

Answer:Cannot access bios on Lenovo Ideapad Z580 notebook!

hi joppenheim,

Can you try to:
1. Turn the computer off and remove the AC adapter and battery
2. Press and hold the power button for 20secs
3. Reconnect the AC adapter, press the OneKey Recovery button and check if you have an option to access the BIOS.

Let me know your findings,

Hi.I have a problem with my battery not charging (at 1% left and power connected) and get an error message that my battery is not recognized by Lenovo, even though it's the same battery I've had for 4 years (the laptop is as good as new, and I don't want to change it).Apparently, a BIOS update should work, according to several web forums, and it worked when I had the same problem some time ago. But since then I have updated to Windows 10 and I can't find any BIOS updates for my laptop which is compatible with windows 10. And those that are compatible with windows 10 are not compatible with my laptop. Will there ever be an update, or do anyone have another solution to my battery problem?INFO:Windows 10 Home 64 bitIntel Core i5-3337U 1.80 GHz8GB RAMCurrent BIOS id: 7ECN19WW

Answer:How to reset BIOS Lenovo Z400 Ideapad Touch

Welcome to the Lenovo Community !

There is no master password, back door or CMOS clearing procedure that will remove your forgotten password.  This is due to the ease in which laptops are stolen.   To resolve the issue you have basically two options.  The first is for the Uncle to try and remember the password he used.  Please keep in mind that passwords are case sensitive and he may have use upper and lower case characters.  The second option is to replace the motherboard.

Dear Members,I am in trouble with my  Idea Pad Z570: I bought it couple of years ago running Windows 7. During the years of usage I had no trouble at all. With Windows 10 beeing released, I upgraded and it starts to make a lot of troubles: Bluescreen directly after boot or sign in, no WiFi, ... all the known stuff. So I decided last week to downgrade to Windows 7. But now, I am even in a bigger trouble:I tried to boot the Windows 7 from DVD and it crashed into Bluescreen saying: Windows Error 0xc0000225Restarting is not helping. So, i tried to go into BIOS to boot from another device, but I do not even get to BIOS or UEFI. So, thats a kind of Deadlock: I cannot boot from Harddisk because Windows Error 0xc0000225 appears and I cannot get into BIOS & UEFI because the Windows error 0xc0000225 comes before getting to BIOS. Hope this description of my current situation is understandable and you guys have a lot of ideas how to fix it. Thanks!TheGooner

Couple days ago, my hard drive went bad and I installed new hard drive and Windows 10. In addition, I try to update BIOS to the latest software (45CN38WW.exe) but during update the BIOS program froze. I kept the laptop on overnight but it did not finish, so I was forced to restart Windows. Now laptop turns on but no video on LCD. I know there is a special process to recover corrupt BIOS, with USB drive and some ?Fn? keys. I will appreciate any help, thanks in advance.

My brand new Y510 was shipped with Windows 8 but is now running Windows 8.1 without any significant issues, except for the long cold boot time -- 233.4 seconds BIOS time as shown under the Startup Tab in Task Manager. When the power button is pressed, the Lenovo logo screen comes up and stays like that for 233 seconds. Then the OS starts loading as shown by the circling dots. After that it takes around 45 seconds to complete the boot process. My question is -- how do I reduce the BIOS time from an unacceptable 233.4 seconds?Thank you.

Hi.I'm looking for a Lenovo B575 type 1450 bios cmos file to flash to my BIOS unless someone knows a solution. I believe the BIOS has been corrupted. I cannotI access/change/set-up utility or restore to defaults. I had been experiencing intermittent errors ever since upgrading from Sys 7 to 10. and after one such occurence decided to do a clean install hoping that might help (Mistake #1).  Anyway, to make a long story short, I kept getting various errors to the point that finally I had no choice but to go for the complete new install. I had most everything backed up anyway (Mistake #2). The install failed and burned at app. 90% complete!! Now, regardless how I boot up, if the hard disk is connected, I get a black screen "Windows failed to start blah blah....  Status: 0xc00000034 An unexpected error has occurred blah blah" but when the hdd is disconnected It will boot up from flash drive or CD etc..BUT WIIL NOT LET ME ACCESS THE BIOS SET-UP UTILITY.! Regardless of F1, F2, F.. Anything... PLEASE HELP!!!!UPDATE: I have tried via battery removed , various utilities etc etc with no luck

Hello, yesterday I tryed to update the bios of my 450p but at part 9 of 37 the computer hang up.Now when I turn on the pc nothing happens... Windows do not boot and the monitor is black. Can you give some ideas what I can do now?

Answer:Lenovo Ideapad U450p - Bios Update failed

Looks like you have phoenix bios, so you can look at this topic https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/IdeaPad-Y-U-V-and-Z-series/Lenovo-ideaPad-Y560-BIOS-Recovery/td-p/37791... .Though it's for different laptop model, technically these bioses are similar and that restoration method should work for you. NOTE! that doesn't mean that you can take bios file from y560, you should download updater for your laptop, open it with 7-zip and use bios rom file from here. Flashing bios from different model will DEFINITELY BRICK your laptop. Also, look at this:http://www.bios-mods.com/bios-recovery/phoenix-bios-recovery/http://www.google.com/search?q=phoenix+bios+recovery
