I am hoping to find some kind of ONLINE communication with Lenovo about warranty work on the IdeaPad. I do not want to be forced to call. Unfortunately my experience so far with Lenovo and my first computer purchase from them has not been satisfactory, and now that I am having new issue with the laptop, I am hoping to at least cut out the extreme inconvenience of needing to deal with the issue via phone. Is there an email address or form submission page available for US customers? I found one for storage and accessories, but cannot find one for computers.

Along the bottom toolbar of my Windows XP desktop are the letters EN. When typing e-mails I've found it's giving me " rather than @ so I click on EN and untick English United States and tick United Kingdom. The next e-mail I send I find the ticks have gone back to English United States although I haven't touched them. Could someone tell me how to keep the tick on the UK alternative? Thanks in anticipation.

The difference is the spelling of some words, default measurement system and default formats for currency, date and time. The spelling cannot be changed later without downloading and installing a language pack and applying it.



The formats can be changed to whatever user prefers. US English has by default first day of week Sunday, UK English Monday. US English Windows uses by default 12 hour clock (12 AM to 11:59 PM) and has date format as MONTH DAY YEAR, whereas UK English has 24 hour clock (00 to 23:59) and DAY MONTH YEAR.

Default currency sign is in US English Windows $, in UK English version ?. In addition the default measurement system in US English Windows is U.S. and in UK version metric.

The UK (GB) English Windows 10 is also known as English International, see for instance the name of UK English Windows 10 TH2 version 1511 official ISO images which MS has named as Win10_1511_1_EnglishInternational_x64.iso.

I have a united kingdom hp xp disc for hp computer. it say me from having to enter the serial for hp computers. however it have uk time and keyboard layout. I know how to fix time and other stuff through regional and language options, but I need to know how to change the keyboard layout. when you hit the @ button for email another sign comes up.

I fix this issue once, but I don't remember what I did

In XP it is under the Control Panel in the Date, Time & Regional Settings area. P that should allow you to change it back. In Vista it is under the Regional or Keyboard settings. I know it is close to the same area as it is in XP.

I am trying to run a wizard on excel called "import external data". i need a option 437 OEM United States for my file origin selection. My Excel doesnot give me that option. only option that i have is "Macintosh, Windows(ANSI) and MS-DOS (PC-8).
Is there a way to get that option? Is it cause it needs different version of microsoft office?
My version is 2000.

I had not problems running the programs in safe mode. However, the only way I was able to recover the laptop from the virus was by installing the privatefirewall. It is running but I'm afraid the virus is hidden somewhere in the laptop. Please help me. I'm attaching the reports.

Save fixlist.txt to your flash drive.

You should now have both fixlist.txt and FRST.exe on your flash drive.
Now reboot back into the System Recovery Options as you did previously.
Run FRST and press the Fix button just once and wait.
The tool will make a log on the flashdrive (Fixlog.txt).
Please attach this to your next message. (See how to attach)

Now boot into normal Windows and continue with the below.

When I turn my Windows XP computer on the whole screen is taken up by in image that says - Firewall of the United States - Computer Blocked. This computer has been blocked to Americans by the US Government Firewall. I have 72 hours to pay via MoneyPak
Though I can access the Start Menu I can't view any other program. The laptop is a HP Elitebook that has a 1.8 inch hard drive. I don't have the proper tool to connect the hard drive to another computer.

Any suggestions on how to remove this infection is appreciated.

Some stores in Europe are selling Thinkpads that come with Windows in English and the native language of the country where they're being sold. Do Windows 7 or 8 come in both those languages, or is it up to buyer's choice? Because many stores don't offer this choice with online purchases, even when the OS is listed as being available in both languages. Also, are Thinkpads with US keyboard available in Europe, or is the choice here limited to the native country's language?

I had gotten the ransomware about 5 to 10 min ago, I am aware you need to boot the system in safe mode in order to fix it but every time I try, safe mode it starts but then it logs itself out and restarts. Has anyone ever herd of this, or know what to do? Is there some other way to open safe mode to remove it, a way to keep safe mode open with a disk of some kind? Need help! Laptop is infected with the US courts virus. Had this happen on our other laptop before and was able to get rid of it by booting in safe mode with networking but this laptop will not boot in safe mode.

Hi, fellow Windows 7 Users. I have two Keyboard Layouts on my system. EN English (United Kingdom) and JP Japanese (Japan). For no reason, United States pops up there and I cannot remove it in the Keyboard Layouts. This system was bought in the UK and has a UK Keyboard Layout, this has nothing to do with the United States Keyboard Layout. Why does this keep popping up? And how can I stop this? Hi, I started having the same problem on my computer recently, for no reason. I also have JP Japanese (Japan) installed (along with French, which is also the language of my OS) however I've had it installed for more than a year.

Did you eventually find a solution to your problem or does someone have ideas now given that we both have Japanese installed?

PS: you can remove it by installing EN Enlgish (United States) and deleting it, but it will come back anyway next time you restart your computer or use the alt+shift shortcut.

MY PROBLEM:
I am using the keyboard that comes on the laptop, not an external one. I use the keybord with the United States-International setting in order to use the accents of Latin languages.

For the last month or so this is happening with all applications (Word 2007, IE Explorer, Firefox, etc): when I press some keyboard keys the response on the screen is not what it is supposed to be with the international keyboard.

For example, ' shows '', ~ shows ~~, so I can't print any accented vowels. It was working properly for almost two years and suddenly started this erratic behavior.

I have not made any changes except the Microsoft updates. I have tried adding and removing the international keyboard several times. I also tried with num lock off, and that was not the problem. The keyboard layout is set to US international correctly, it shows correctly on the task bar, but the characters do not print as expected.

I read in some web-board that apparently the same issue is happening to users of Windows 7 latest version patched, and that maybe a recent Windows Update has broken International keyboard for XP, Vista and 7. Based on that, I removed the Windows updates dating back to when I recall all was well. Still, problem unresolved.

Any suggestions?

hi, new to forum.
. this just appeared on my computer.  I am not very computer savvy so please bare with me.  I did try to run in safe mode but it reboots itself and the courts screen appears.  same goes for safe-mode with networking.  I tried the system restore but It only had the previous morning and I tried that and same thing happens.  The only way I can get it to give me the safe mode with prompt is to disconnect from internet and then it gives me that screen.  I copied the rkill iexplore and the mbam onto a drive..  so my question is now what do i do..  I cant see my home screen so cant load to desktop .. any help would really be appreciated..

I was just browsing through my system information, (general section) and it lists my locale as United States any idea why? Surely it should read UK, as does the regional/language options. Time zone is GMT as well. Or is this just a Microsoft thing, I am using Xp.

What device are you using to post on this forum? Is there a friend or family member who has a PC you can access so you can burn a bootable CD with diagnostic and virus removal tools to? Are you sure the disk you were using is a bootable copy of windows?

Also, do you have Recovery Console installed on the machine?

I have this infuriating United States Cyber Security virus that has locked my computer and says it will unlock if I pay 200 bucks. I cannot even get all the way into safe mode. I can hit f8 & the safe mode options come up but no matter which one I select, I get the "we apologize" message. Help!!

Hi, all! I have a family member's computer that I think is running unupdated Windows 7, and it's picked up the United States Courts ransomware. One cosmetic difference: the background isn't the original desktop, but a fake set of UNIX-looking commands, black on white. The functional difference is that whenever I boot in safe mode or safe mode with networking, the computer automatically logs off and resets before I can enter any commands. I was able to run RKill once, but it didn't find the right processes and the lock screen showed up right after it terminated. I am also under the impression that the virus can play sound, but that might just be paranoia. I'm trying very hard to get my sister to give up on her (fairly small) amount of data -- I have reinstall CDs and am itching to use them because this virus is such a pain. But I'd like to grab her files if possible; they might even be small enough to send via email, if I could get a couple of minutes of functionality out of the system. What do you folks think? Any tips? Thanks very much in advance!!

I have formed a roleplay clan named 'United States Executive Branch' (the RP is based on CIA, FBI, etc). How close is it to bordering a federal offence within the United States? I live within the United Kingdom, and the server is located in France, Europe.

Hi There,

I have this malware on my sister's laptop which is an HP Pavilion running Windows 7, 64-bit software. At first, she said it was just showing the ransom screen with the pic it took, but I was able to run it in safe mode and sign on under different users other than the administrator today.

After reading previous posts, I was able to run the Farbar Recovery Scan Tool and have attached the frst.txt. Would really appreciate your guys help for the next steps. I understand after this that I should still do the RUN & READ ME STEPS to make sure all is good.

There is a Federal Law that is going to be coming before congress. It is scheduled for 4Q 2006. This federal law will Nationalize the Electronic Waste Recycling Fee Program. Currently the State of California has this Electronics Waste Recycling Fee Program. As of now (January 1, 2005) it pertains only to (CRT'S, LED'S & TV'S) which contain hazardous materials that have been dumped in landfills.

California is expanding this program and will include all Electronic Devices. Each Electronic device will have a specific recycling fee added to the retail price and paid by the consumer. This fee will go towards the recycling process of electronic waste and a portion will go to the collecters.

The Federal Law that is being brought before Congress will mandate each US State to follow quidelines of the Electronic Waste Recycling Fee Program. Electronics sold in each state will include this fee with-in the retail price, paid by the consumer. Each device will have a regulated fee, depending on the device.

Environmentally speaking, this Program is a great idea. Economically speaking, it will mean higher prices for (OEM & Do It Yourself Builders). I googled it to see if I could take care of it my self but all the info I got said to boot in safe mode with command prompt or boot in safe mode with networking.
 
I can not boot into any safe mode whatsoever.  It either go into a repeating endless boot cycle or starts to boot and then locks on the screen above. 
 
I am able to press the F8 key, select the last "know settings everything worked"  and have about a minute of work time before the virus locks me up again.
 
During one of those attempts, I tried running RKill to stop the virus so that I could get to  a point where I could try to get rid of it but it still locked up on me.

Of course it can work... as long it's unlocked.
The problem of that phone is the lack of official updates, IMHO a better choice would be the L520 or the L635 both quite cheap and with constant updates.

been looking around the website for an email and havent really found one, all i found was phone numbers and this forum which neither have worked for me to get help with my Lenovo Y650. I posted on here over a week ago about my problem and no one has answered me and called Lenovo UK yesterday and talked to a guy that put me on hold 2 times and kept me on the line for 30 min and all he suggested was to re install over and over, hold the power key while no power is connected to refresh, then turn off my firewall and antivirus, then blamed that it was a software issue while it ran perfectly on my HP laptop.  so now i want to know a third method so i can hopely be satisfied with the laptop i bought. so anyone know an email to any good technical support person?Thank You.

Does anyone have an email address that will put me in contact with someone in Canada? I spent three hours trying to get help that wasn't through the telephone, telling half a dozen people that I couldn't use the phone to get help. The "United States-International" keyboard layout option is supposed to let you type accents by pressing the right-alt key at the same time as ' " ~ ` or ^ followed by the letter you want to accent. For some reason on my computer the right-alt key does not work for this purpose, but left-alt and left-shift do. Unfortunately this is conflicting with all sorts of things so I really need to figure out how to get it to work with the right-alt key as it is supposed to. I have no idea what could be causing this problem so I don't know what other information to include. Any idea how to get this working properly for me?

does any one know the email address for google mail tech support.

I have poured over their site and cannot find any way to actually contact them. It always ends up joining the forum.

My wife has a spam mail problem and after some testing I can isolate the problem to the google mail site. The problem as been reported on the google user forum but as these posts are over a month old and there as been no comment on the furum from google themselves I need to draw their attension to it.

i currently have a dell Inspiron 5558 laptop for over an year now but the screen stop working over 6 months ago, i looked up the warranty information at the time of screen stopped working and was re-assured that it showed February 18, 2017 therefore i did not consider that it is very urgent to call tech support since i have other laptops. today when i call the support service, i was informed that product was not registered and i have to pay $233 to replace the LCD screen, they still argued that dell warranty website showed the correct information but when i looked it up, the website still displays the same.  did anyone else encounter this issue??

Today I have received a phone call from a Technical Support Service, which claims my Computer system has been flagged up as having some serious errors on my computer. They asked my some questions regarding what I used the internet for and how many devices are used in the house. They then gave me instructions to use RUN command and open eventviewer,under Administrative events they asked me what I could see.. and it was aload of errors and warnings.. they then told me that the internet has downloaded these files on my computer with out me knowing and they can cause problems with the system. ( Fortunate that I have had some issues with my explorer BUT found that it was a recent Windows update that had conflicted a file in explorer so I unistalled it and re-installed explorer..Problem gone ). So she then told me I was going to speak to a technician that wanted me to go to this website Link Removed By Moderator which I did but I then realized they wanted what looked like re-mote access to my computer. And that was when I questioned everything they were trying to do... they said no malware,spyware or anti virus program will detect these files and they needed access to run a scan on my computer but depending on the seriousness of how bad it is a one time fee may be applied so I told the man (NO MATE YOU NOT GETTIN ON HERE) which he then replied that my system health is goin to be affected and if im not interested in the help offered then BYE ...

I am writing this post in response to case number 30V2QV4. Lenovo's technical support is DREADFUL! It is like a comedy of errors, wave upon wave of incompetent technicians try and fix one thing only to break another and not even fix the first thing. I have had nothing but problems on this machine and the latest fiasco was the fingerprint sensor and screen not working (not responding to pen input) I returned the unit and when I got it back NOTHING had changed. The screen and fingerprint sensor STILL DIDNT WORK. This is the SECOND TIME this has happened. I am beginning to feel like they are complete idiots at the repair centre because nobody so much as tested the unit after they supposedly fixed it. All you have to do is turn it on and point the stylus at the screen and see if the cursor is moving. Is that too hard?!?!? Furthermore, the software that uses the fingerprint sensor acts like there is no such hardware installed so obviously nobody in the repair centre tested that either. Completely useless! Lenovo, if you're reading this, I expect an explanation. Somebody needs to do something about this unit as it has caused me nothing but grief and the service technicians incometence is completely unacceptable!

This might amuse you:Dear Technical Support, 18 months ago, I upgraded to Girlfriend 1.0 from Drinking Mates 4.2, which I had used for years without any trouble. However, there are apparently conflicts between these two products, and the only solution was to try and run Girlfriend 1.0 with the sound turned off. To make matters worse, Girlfriend 1.0 is incompatible with several other applications, such as Lads Night Out 3.1, Football 3pm, and Playboy 6.9. Successive versions of Girlfriend proved no better. A shareware program, Party Girl 2.1, which I tried, had many bugs and left a virus in my system, forcing me to shut down completely for several weeks. Eventually, I tried to run Girlfriend 1.2 and Girlfriend 1.0 at the same time, only to discover that when these two systems detected each other, they caused severe damage to my hardware. I then upgraded to Fiancée 1.0, only to discover that this product soon had to be upgraded further to Wife 1.0. While Wife 1.0 tends to use up all my available resources, it does come bundled with FreeSex Plus and Cleanhouse 2003. Shortly after this upgrade, however, I found that Wife 1.0 can be very unstable and costly to run. Any mistakes I made were automatically stored in Wife 1.0's memory and could not be deleted. They then resurfaced months later when I had forgotten about them. Wife 1.0 also has an automatic Diary, Explorer and E-mail Filter, and can, without warning, launch TurboStrop and WhingeExcel. My battery is taking over five hours to charge up, and the charge doesn't  last.  I have a problem. I have just spent a terribly frustrating hour, trying to find out how to get technical support for this computer.  First off, I cannot find a telephone number on the Lenovo site. Well, O.K.  I tried to get on-line technical support.  It says I need to have a 7 digit model number.  Well, I don't seem to have a 7 digit model number.  I have an S10-3t computer that has a four digit model name, a serial number, and a 10 digit "MO" number, whatever this is. Can somebody please tell me how to contact a Lenovo human being to find out how to resolve my problem?

Have a problem with my NTL BB service.Over the last 4 or 5 days I have had to reset my Set top box to be able to log on to NTL BB.So, I thought I would ring them and get my connection changed from the set top box to a modem. I have been upgraded to the 2mb service but because my set top is a Pace it cannot cope with 2mb and is restricted to 1mb. To get the 2mb I have to have the set top changed for one which will accept 2mb. Having gone through all the option selections I now get a message:"the office is now closed" and even worse because it is a Bank Holiday I will have to wait until Tuesday to be able to get assistance. Lately I have been badgered with high pressure sales tactics from several companies who provide technical support most notably Iyogi and PcWizard. Using the Event Viewer, they found (I embarrassed to say) over 37,000 warnings, errors and informative messages which have accumulated over the past three to four years. Each has told me that I am risking everything on my computer unless this problem is dealt with immediately even though I do a complete backup twice a week. Needless to say, I told each of them I wanted to do some research about their respective companies before making a decision. This was the only way to get them off the phone. I have no idea how they got hold of my telephone number in the first place and each was reluctant to tell me. Actually, I would like to learn how to effectively manage this situation myself. This leads me to two questions. Firstly, would it be worth my while to have a strange company I have never heard of take over control of my computer? Secondly, how and where would I go about learning how to manage this situation myself? The latter of these would be far more preferable to me since it would enable me to provide this service to my clients. I have been working with computers for 27 years and my capacity to learn has not diminished regardless of my advanced age. Maybe you should have checked all your hardware to see if it was supported by XP. Not everything is and most manufacturers have not written drivers for it yet. Find a generic driver for an NEC printer similar to yours in XP's native drivers and use that. They offered a workaround if they found one so what are you complaining about....do a little research!

Hey guys, i wanna know the answer of this question " Is using the laptop while charging battery reduce the battery life as it considered to be charged and discharging while using lap or not ??!! "

It only will reduce the life once it reaches full capacity then discharges a little, then recharges again (and this keeps repeating). I would recommend removing the battery after it is fully charged (if it is possible on your laptop). No wait. It depends on the manufacturer. I don't know about Lenovo, but some will use the method I said above, but some will just stop charging the battery, and treat it like it is not there, so basically, it is running off of a power outlet only.

Hi,
I have a Packard Bell C3255 notebook that has had a new HDD. I gone into the tattooing process but have come to a stop at the screen asking for the 'technical support code' I know this resides within the DMI but don't know how to access it.
I have had the usual lack of information and help from the PB website and trawled the net but still stuck.
Does anyone know where I can get this 6 digit code?

I've been dealing with technical support for 4 or 5 months now on and off trying to get an issue resolved with an external display disconnecting from my laptop at random. They've had me wipe my computer and re-install windows, and they've even sent a technician out to my place of business to replace my logic board. I would like to exchange this system under my warranty, but the technical support people claim "The warranty of the system doesn't cover system exchange."
I'm assuming I have  a "Consumer In-Home Hardware Service After Remote Diagnosis" service plan. Both paragraph 12 and paragraph 14 have provisions pursuant to which Dell may exchange this system.

We'll soon be retiring and doing a good bit of traveling w/ a recreation vehicle. I'm shopping for a laptop that we can use to search the web, make RV park reservations, handle on-line banking, use GPS software etc. Because I think wireless N (802.11n) technology will useful, I'm considering a Toshiba laptop. We have a 2002 Dell PC which worked great once we resolved one initial sound card problem. In 2002 Dells technical support was provided from India, which was a real pain. It wasn't clear on Dell's web page whether they offer wireless N.

Does Dell offer wireless N technology in their laptops and (if so) how does Dell and Toshiba techical support currently compare relative to nationality of support personnel, amount of time on hold on the phone, resolution of problems, etc.?

If you have other recommendations on brands that also offer wireless N, I would also like these. Thank you.

one thing to consider, though you want n, most wifi locations will only be b or g Your speed will drop to g. So imo, at this time, stick with g because thats all you will need.

as far as support, its all based on individual experience. some have good and some have bad experiences with both dell and toshiba. personally I just shoot for the best computer I could find for my needs and hopefully never need computer support and so far I have been lucky.

Dell has a problem with some Dell Vostro 200 pc's which involves a black screen just after boot. The advised solution from Dell is to set prefetch to only boot rather than boot and applications. Empty the prefetch folder and in effect not use prefetch as it was designed for Windows XP, Is this a legitimate solution for customers experiencing this problem? I always thought prefetch was supposed to "speed things up". Any suggestions about this? Is Dell just blowing the customers off?

Hi , i have some serious virus in my computer
Firstly, i installed a program called bigdog.exe (foolish of me)
After virus after new virus came in to my laptop

I tried using ur malware remove guide.

How ever i can't even run the Malwarebytes software as it give a run time error and the vbAccelerator SGRID 2 control problem

FOr the superanti-spyware software, i can't even download the latest virus definition. My internet Microsoft's automatic updates downloads are stopped.

But i do have internet connections still.

I used spybot and adware, it provides no solutions. The virus keep recurring.

Now i just post the HT log. Tell me what u need to solve my problem.

I have a problem installing an update for Office 2003 on Windows 10 Professional RTM. Yes I know that Office 2003 is no longer supported. Since Windows 10 saw the update KB90741, it would install it. Windows update returned this error message: Error: 0x80096004.

I used the contact Support App in Windows 10. The attached pictures says the rest. Isn't Microsoft Technical Support Great?

I need a really good resource for getting some technical help. Can you recommend some links?

I am not a SQL-wiz, but am responsible for monitoring the database activity. I've noted some oddities and would like to question someone knowledgable as to WHY WHY WHY?

Also, I'm having trouble getting SQL Executive to load on my new Windows 2000 (I was on Win 95) workstation...

I still have every warranty except POW but i cant seem to contact support. When i go and click contact technical support it states:

"The product is out of warranty and is eligible for the following support options: Solve the problem yourself with our free and easy-to-use online tools. Troubleshoot and Fix an Issue Interactive Support Agent"

Im confused because i seem to have warranty but on the tech support page its telling me that its out of warranty. Is there any way to fix this issue or other means for me to contact support? I badly need help since there's a problem with my Hard drive and is causing my laptop to bsod frequently. Thanks you.

Purchased the new X301 on Sept 8th.  It arrived sometime during the week of Sept 20th.  On Oct 8th less than 3 weeks of use the unit "died". BSOD with "Bad_system_config_info" error.  After 48 hours(?) of working with Lenovo tech support , they determined that the motherboard should be replaced.  Not being happy with the quality I asked to return the unit for a full refund, at which point I was presented with the 21 day warranty that starts from the invoice date and is void if you open the box! Since they do not ship out MB, the unit had to go back to their Memphis repair center. Received the unit back today (Oct 21st) with the same exact issue, BSOD "Bad_system_config_info". Called the tech support and they said I need to send it back! Forgot to mention that this unit is for my CEO.  Being a bit frustrated to say the least, I asked for a full refund.  So far I have been pushed (escalated) twice, and the next level up won't even call back today (they said 48 hours). It is still not clear if we can get our money back or if we end up sending the unit in it will actually be fixed.

Sorry to hear that this has been your experience so far. 
 
Ideally, (and in most cases) everything works and there aren't any troubles.   If there is a problem, we would ask the customer to call technical support (which you did).   Support should do their best to solve the issue over the phone as that is best for all of us, and if there is a hardware fault, support should arrange for service according to the terms of the warranty - depot, onsite, or through a local business partner.  Support should provide a case number.
 
If the customer is within 21 days, and the system requires service, and it's not something simple like a battery or AC adapter, removable DVD drive, mouse, ect, and the customer does not want service, and has called support and has a valid case number, they can call sales back and arrange a return.
 
As it stands, I believe sales will authorize the return for refund and waive the restocking fee, or can arrange to ship a replacement (charge for it) and credit back when the original unit is returned.
 
I'm sorry that you've had to escalate this case in order to get the service you need.   Let's let the process work, but your business is important, so if you haven't gotten the help you need, please send me a private message with your contact information and the original order number and your service case number and I'll help you get this resolved.

I wanted to buy a W500 with a XP-downgrade (from Vista business 32), and wondered about getting full windows installation disks. Rang Lenovo and they said just to phone after receiving thinkpad, and we will send you both sets of disk out to you (no mention of any charge).W500 arrived, and came with Vista Business installed. No other disks. So rang and asked for 2 sets of installation disks. Lenovo said, fine, but will cost you $86 or so each. Then asked on how to install present Vista OS on new HD - told to use restore function to create set of CD's. 7 in all (took 13). Removed hard drive that came with the system and replaced it with SSD, after being formatted and checked - ran perfectly as external drive. Within the W500, it was not recognized. The dreaded Error 2100.Visited Lenovo web site and read some info on problems W500 etc having with some new drives. Couldn't get it to work, nevertheless.So phoned Lenovo Technical Support and was asked "where did you buy the drive"? I said "Australia". Was told "we do not support third-party hardware". That support would only discuss hardware bought that came with the system or bought directly from Lenovo. Directed me to Lenovo web site, and added: "We are IBM, and we only support our own hardware" (not "IBM-compatible"?). "We are not the same as Lenovo". Hi allHas anyone else fallen fowl of the incompetent Steam technical support ? I have been asking for over 2 weeks snd submitted the Jpeg showing the serial number and Ticket number twice and still not had a resolution to a simple request for a change of email address and password reset - I will never buy a steam / Valve associated game again and wondered if there were any other PC gamers who have had similar or even the same problems with Steam accounts ? It has come to emailling Sega and Creative Assembly, who are yet to respond, regarding the problems I have had - this may get nowhere and Sega / CA may just say.......so ? but if this helps to stop someone else the frustration and delay I have experienced it will have been worth it. I really want to play napoleon too but due to Steam will buy another game from an alternative producer. if anyone else can suggest any other forum's to highlight this issue as a warning to other potential steam account users, please let me know and I will post there toocheersJohn

I've been having huge problems with my laptop recently, running Windows Vists :( was planning to get it fixed but now decided to buy a new one. However, got a phone call today from woman claiming to be Windows tech support partner - I'm not a complete idiot and she sounded genuine, apart from treating me like a 5 yr old, she said my computer was sending lots of error reports and the software was very corrupted, which I'm sure it is. She confirmed my ID no - I did NOT give it to her, she gave it to me tho' I was reluctant to confirm it in case that was a clever scam. She then explained how to get up .INF .PNF files and said the .pnf were the ones corrupting my computer. At that point I ended the convo; with the greatest respect, I had NO intention of deleting any files on the word of someone who may, for all I knew, be the Hateful Hacker of Hackney!!!
Any comments/advice/"don't make me laugh" feedback would be welcome!

Can anyone tell me why I suddenly have so many problems logging in to this Forum. I log in-(Remember Me is checked), I then get access to the forums but if I then wish to post I have to log in again, if I post but then wish to edit my post I have to log in again.
I have been a member for a couple of years and it is only recently that I have had this problem. Roger

All you network and systems administrators out there,

Do you guys use any kind of technical support / help-desk software that is used to log all your techincal support calls whenever a user is having trouble with something? I am trying to look into a good solution for my environment (credit union with 55 users, gonna be around 70 by the time our new branch opens). I need something that will make it real easy to organize and sort all the tech support calls I get throughout the day, but not such that I spend all day just logging stuff into the software.

What do you guys use? Thanks for the help!
