Lenovo Y410p Graphics Card Driver Stop Working And Has Recovered (Temporary crash)

Question: Lenovo Y410p Graphics Card Driver Stop Working And Has Recovered (Temporary crash)

I am having trouble with windows 10. This laptop seems to support windows 10 but Lenovo did't bother to updat the drivers in the support section for windows 10. The issues that i have right now is my intel HD4600 (Integrated Graphics) and Nvidia GT 750M (Dicrete graphics) keep on crashing. These graphics crash with windows notifiation message saying that my Intel/Nvidia graphics stop working and recovered etc. Intel graphics will crash while playing videos (movies youtube etc) while NVIDIA graphics will crash when playing games. In both casses the graphics reovered imediately but there will be 2 to 3 seconds of graphics freeze. When nvidia graphics rash while playing game, the game will be unplayable and i need to force close the game. So far I have tested a few drivers combination for both graphics. the results are as follows: Latest Intel HD 4600 driver from Intel webpage + latest driver for NVIDIA GT 750M from Nvidia webpage- It seems that the driver by intel is made solely for laptop without the discrete graphics. Games will crash and video playback will also crash.Intel HD 4600 Driver from windows automatic update + Nvidia GT 750M Driver from windows automatic update - Same thing happen. Even using certified windows 10 drivers from microsoft, games keep on crashing and so does video playback.Intel HD 4600 driver from lenovo (win8.1) + Latest Nvidia GT 750M driver from Nvidia webpage - Games will work flawlessly now. No more crash but sadly video playback will keep on crashing every now and then making watching movies and youtube videos a very unpleasant experience.I suspect the flaw here comes form Intel HD 4600 driver which make games play without crashing but video playback a bit problemati. The driver is design for windows 8.1 which is the only latest driver provided by Lenovo. I would like for lenovo to release windows 10 based drivers for this laptop particularly the "special" intel HD 4600 driver because i really need it.

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Dear Jamal, Welcome in lenovo community,If lenovo did not release the suitable driver for the Y410p yes, that means it is not applicable with windows 10.and that explain why you have problems with the Graphics Card Driver right now.so please try to go back to the previous windows (if you still have this option) to have all the functions of the machine working well. Thanks,Joseph

I have been using this y410p to play games for almost three years now, and a small set of problems has slowly started to build.  As of now, most of my games will crash within 5-10 minutes of starting, commonly accompanied by the error "Display driver has stopped responding and recovered". Most of the time, the game will just freeze with the audio continuing and I am able to close it. Sometimes however, I get much more severe crashes, where the sound over 5 seconds becomes extremely distorted, and my mouse movement becomes increasingly laggy until the whole thing just freezes, with a monotone buzzing sound coming from the speakers.  I have noticed that the display driver crashes generally occur when my disk randomly spiked to 100%. Even a single second of it can cause my whole computer to crash. As of now, I can't play games that my computer has easily been able to run before. I've tried using IdeaFan to keep temperatures down, but I don't think it's temperatures causing it, seeing as I've seen it happen multiple times when the temperature is only around 50. If any of you have an idea of what could be causing this, please respond.  Also of note, I am running Windows 10, which I have heard can be problematic for the y410p. Could that be causing the issue?

Hi there, Gum -
Thank you for writing in to the Lenovo Forum - happy to have you here today.

Try this Driver mate:  Intel VGA Driver for Windows 10 (64-bit) - Notebook

It's the Windows 10 driver from the y400 page. The y400 is pratically identical to the y410p so it should work.

I decided to restore my computer as I had a few problems witth the first. I'm running on windows 7 64bit and I just have recently installed all the drivers apart from the graphics or vga drivers. At first I tried downloading the drivers from the lenovo support page (both intel and nvidia driver). When I tried installing the intel driver a message came up saying "this computer does not meet the minimum requirements for installing the software". It was the same story with the nvidia driver, but the message was shown in the nvidia installation and worded differently. I then tried installing drivers from nvidia and intel themselves by downloading the lastest drivers and I still had the same problem. I'm currently running on the standard VGA adapter. Help would be great!

Hi all, I have had my Y410P for a couple of months now, and for what it does and for what I paid for it, I'm really pleased.  However, Lenovo is taking their sweet time in officially announcing the GT750 M Ultrabay SLI card, and now that they've upgraded (?) to the 755, I'm kinda wondering if they'll ever release it or leave us to rely on modified drivers to use the 650 or possibly upcoming 755 in SLI.  I was wondering if it would be at all possible to upgrade the graphics card in the laptop.  I know it would be pretty out-there, but being able to swap my 750 M for a GTX 770 M would be really sweet, especially considering the SLI issues with the accursed Windows 8.1.

Hi, I bought my lenovo y410p yesterday, and I've been doing a lot of gaming and video editing on it. The problem I have at the moment is the two graphics card. Most of the time, my laptop is plugged in, so I'm able to use the NVIDIA graphics card. I also want to use the graphics card when the laptop is not plugged in, so it's more portable (using in airplane). I've tried 2 methods. I've tried switching to maximum performance for the power management mode and switching my preferred graphics processor to the NVIDIA processor in the NVIDIA control panel. Still didn't work. Is there a way of turning it off?Help will be much appreciated! Thanks

Answer:How to turn off integrated graphics card on the lenovo y410p

Just right click on the desktop and and go to the Nvidia control panel. Under the Manage 3D settings choose the option to use only the descrete graphics card.

I am running a GeForce 9500 GT on my Windows 7 64-bit machine. Everything was working perfectly until a few days ago when I had to forcefully restart my computer several times while trying to troubleshoot a problem with my monitor not receiving the signal. Changing the DVI cable fixed it instantly, so I assume it was just a faulty wire, but ever since I've been unable to run any graphic card taxing application properly. When I try the screen flashes, the window gets garbled up and I get an error message saying that my driver has stopped responding and recovered. The program works "normally" afterwards except that the whole process repeats itself at every loading screen, scene change etc.

I have tried reinstalling the driver and followed the instruction here "Display driver stopped responding and has recovered" error in Windows 7 or Windows Vista (though only method one really applied and caused a blue screen).

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Answer:Graphics card driver has stopped responding and has recovered

Hi Suina, Welcome to Seven forums.

As per your post you just changed the cable, right? While changing the cable, any hardware might have be disloacted (RAM, or power cables). First thing I will suggest to you is to reseat the RAM sticks (Also, please update your system specs). Check for any loose cables and plug them back.

Clean out dust out of the CPU and cabinet. After all this if the issue is not resolved, then we can check the drivers.

Get the latest drivers for your card and also download DriverSweeper.
Uninstall the drivers, run DriverSweeper to remove the left overs of the drivers. Do a clean install of the drivers. Reboot the PC and then check.

Keep us posted.

Answer:Dell Latitude E7450 - graphics driver stopped working and has recovered

Hi ,
Kindly help me with some more information so that I can understand the issue better,
*Have you had the chance to check in safe mode with networking to see if the video distorted .
*Have you tried to initiate lcd BIST (Built in self test ) on the system by pressing the D Key and the power button once the test is initiated then if the screen works fine then you should be able to view solid colors on the screen without distortion .
*Is the display good on an external screen ( If it is then the system board works fine )
Hoping to hear from you soon .
Kindest Regards ,

I've been trying to fix this problem for a whole year and I still can't figure it out. Whenever I play games with my Adapter plugged in, I play the game for 5 seconds and it gives me a blackscreen. Later on I am prompted with the "Driver has stopped responding and has now recovered" error. When I play games on my Battery, it works flawlessly. No crashes what-so-ever. Tried downclocking the GPU, it helped and I was able to play for longer without crashes (About 10-15 minutes), but they were still annoying, not to mention the significant drop in Performance which butchered my FPS. It's worth to mention that I used to have an issue with this laptop right when I bought it (A common issue, as i've noticed there's a lot of threads about it on this forum). When plugged in it would have moments where it would stutter and my FPS would drop a lot for 5 seconds and then it would be fine again. And when on battery, it was flawless aswell. Managed to fix that by fiddling around with the energy manager if I recall correctly. I had to uncheck one of the settings in there and the laptop was working again. But now it seems a simular problem is back with bigger consequences. I tried a complete PC reformat.I tried a bunch of different Nvidia drivers that used to be stable for me.I checked the temps, everything seemed to be fine, under 80 Celcius accross the boardReally I've tried just about everything I could find on  the internet, which is what brings me ... I was playing Crysis a little bit ago, like I've done for a long time so the game isnt the problem, and it froze up and I had to restart. After that the computer started freezing up a LOT more like 3 times in an hour. The last time it froze, I restarted and there was no signal going to the monitor. The graphics card is an nvidia 8800 gt. After a while I plugged the moniter into the onboard graphics card which is an nvidia 8200 and it booted fine. I've used this card for about a year and havent had one problem with it at all. I think it may be a driver because I had recently used a program to backup my drivers and Im thinking that might have done something. If it is just a driver problem, then how do I re-install the driver when I can't even see anything when Im plugged into the card. Can I update the driver to the other while Im on this one? Because it doesn't show the other graphics card in the devices panel.
Also, I just noticed, that when I clicked my computer properties its showing I have 1.75 gb of ram when until now it has always showed 3. Could it be a ram problem?

Hello everyone. I'm having an issue with my IdeaPad Y410P where the graphics drivers for the system's GT750M will randomly crash. A search turned up this thread but it was of no help. Some details:- Problem began this May.- Problem does not occur after a specific period of time. It may happen after 5 minutes of gaming or an hour.- Problem occurs regardless of driver version, or whether I'm using Nvidia drivers or official Lenovo drivers.- Problem occurred in two Windows 8.1 installations and still occurs in Windows 10.- Problem occurs regardless of GPU temperature - I have monitored the system using GPU-Z and have not found any trends.- Problem occurs regardless of game played.- System usually recovers but game remains totally frozen after crash. At this point I'm starting to suspect that the graphics card itself is at fault. Any suggestions on how to fix this would be much appreciated.

Answer:Y410P Nvidia graphics drivers crash when gaming

Hi there, I've been experiencing the same issue as yours since 1 year ago. It is most likely heat related (even though you said not), and also probably from the stupid NVIDIA GPU Boost (which automatically overlocks your VGA card to above the GPU frequency, hence adding more heat and instability) My problems occur in these games that I'm playing now:- League of Legends : suddenly froze mid game, had to Alt-Tab to get it back working, and had to limit the FPS to 60- World of Warships : sudden black screen. Unfixable. Has to restart the entire client.- Splinter Cell Blacklist : sudden drop in FPS when reaching certain temperature, and it won't go up anymore unless I restarted the entire system. Most of the time, it will just froze, need to restart the game AND system. I've noticed the problem will occur at around 68-70 degrees, so I tried repasting it, putting a cooling pad, and even installed IdeaFan (which increases the speed of your Y410p. It works pretty darn well. Just google it). It increases the stability by a bit, but still not enough. So I had to do something with the NVIDIA GPU Boost (which, for me, is actually the main culprit). Now the GT750M has a base GPU clock of 941Mhz. But when it is boosted, it jumps to 1035Mhz(!!!). That's actually quite too much for a mobile GPU. So initially, I tried to disable it by using the NVInspector. So the my maximum GPU clock will stay 941Mhz no matter what. Hey! It increases the stability!!! But still, I have se... Read more

Hello everyone, I came to this site because I'm having a problem with my
desktop pc and I really can't afford a paid technician right now. My problem is the
following: I have a Radeon 7870 connected to my samsung LED TV, it
always worked flawlessly until one day It suddenly stopped detecting the TV. I
tried new cables, using a DVI cable on the DVI port, using older and newer
drivers, I also formatted and reinstalled the SO (win7) but nothing, it never
detects the TV (the tv is fine, because laptops connecting to it detect it just fine)

Do you guys think the GPU simply got defective or something? Sorry for my ****** english
and thank you

I have a DELL Inspiron 15.  Since I install Windows 10 anniversary update I have problems with the graphics driver.  I have an external monitor, connected through dock station. Sometimes when the computer start the external monitor freeze and the windows lock itself.  I have to disconnect the external monitor, disable the Intel HD Graphics 5500 and enable again. Normally this operation solve the problem.  Other times the computer start and works with the external monitor without problems.
I updated the driver on Dell website. I am using version 20.19.15.4463.   I also update Display link driver of my dock station but the problem continue.
Anybody have a suggestion to solve this problem?

alright so, i was playing crysis on my ati radeon 5850. I went to tab out of the game to check something, and the screen glitched and froze up my computer. i let it sit for a good 4 minutes and nothing happened, so i forced a shutdown and when i turned the computer back up, there is no display. i restarted it a few times, unplugged the psu gpu and hard drive from the motherboard and plugged back in, but still nothing. ive ruled out the possibility of it being a hard drive or cpu problem, because im able to get display through my integrated vga slot.

also ill add, this card was most likely just too much for my computer. besides for the gpu, everything else in the computer is 2 years old, and at the time i bought the computer, was already getting outdated. So im just wondering, did i fry this new $210 graphics card? (ive played many high graphic games for a few months now and havnt had any problems)

I recently bought an GT750M ultrabay for my Lenovo Y410P, as I wanted more performance for games such as GTA 5. My Y410p is running windows 8.1 and I have the lastest update for SLI from  http://support.lenovo.com/us/en/downloads/ds038407 There has been a boost in my gaming experience with GTA 5 running at all high setting acheiving constant 60fps, However, 5-10mins into the game crashes and it pops with a window saying:err_gfx_d3d_init error. It says: Failed Initialization. Please reboot and restart the game. Try reinstalling the game if this persists.I've done the reinstalling part and verify intergrity cache on steam and still no difference. I tried playing just cause 2 to see if game crashes. Guess what. It crashes 10mins into the game. Pops up with the window:Fatal DirectX error!Code: 6Result: 0x887A0001: DXGI_ERROR_INVALID_CALL Coincidentally, these errors are both related to directx11 issues. I was wondering if it has anything to do with the AC adapter. I currently use the 120W AC adapter and it works perfectly fine, but I know that a 170W AC adapter is compulsory. Could that be the reason? Help would be appreciated

Hi all first post here so please correct me if I some how mess something up.

Been getting BSOD at random intervals and need to fix it ASAP.

Things to note:

-No BSOD in safe mode
-CPU is running at 90% at idle in normal mode (around 5% in safe mode)
-Defragged the computer for close to 16 hours without a single BSOD, however BSOD are far more frequent since then.
-Graphics card fan is extremely loud in safe mode

STOP: 0x000000D1

Graphics card is a ATI Radeon 6770
CPU is an AMD phenom II quad-core

Crash dump zip should be attached, but please let me know if you need additional information.

Thanks, Finn

I bought this Lenovo Yoga 900 Orange on Arpil 8 2016. Today is June 8 2016, I have to make this post.  I was in the meeting yesterday and taking note on MS words. And that was the only program that I opened at that time. Suddenly, the screen turn pitch black on me. I thought that it was the display driver again. Yet this time it stopped for at least 15 minutes, and I had to switch to pen and paper to take note of the meeting. During that time, I try to restart the computer by hitting the power button. Until the third time, the screen was coming back to me. This is very awful.  I bought this machine and heard the rumor that its display driver is not good. But I DO NOT expect it to be that bad. Before the major incident above, the driver did stop 3 times in the past, but it restarted within second. I did a little research and knew that other users had to deal with that too. So I thought that once in a while the screen will die for several seconds, and it was ok with me.  Yesterday, during my meeting, stop more than 15 minutes. Unbelievable!!!.  I want to return the product. Please guide me through this process. If I have to pay the 15% fee, I will do it.

I recently installed a new graphics card into my PC (Nvidia Zotac Geforce 210), and used the CD that came with the card to install the new graphics drivers.

The installation went fine, but upon start up the internet no longer worked. My theory is that the driver installation must have deleted the drivers for my internet.

I tried several times to download and install new drivers, but have had no such luck.

My computer:

AMD Athlon 64 x2 Dual Core Processor 4200
2.21 Ghz, 1 Gb ram
Windows XP Home Edition, 32 bit

There were two ethernet ports before I tried installing new drivers. I know one was disabled, but the ethernet was connected through one of the two:

Nvidia nForce Networking Controller 2
Nvidia 10/100/1000 Mbps Ethernet

I tried installing drivers for both of those, but neither worked.

Can anyone help me out? I really don't want to have to take this into a shop.

Thanks!

Last week I received a new notebook and I can't figure out the right display drivers to use..The model is: Lenovo IdeaPad G50-80 i7-5500U 1TB 4GB ATI R5-M330 2GBso under the video card specifications it says:AMD ATI EXO PRO R5 M330Intel® HD Graphics 5500The driver Windows installed is "Intel(R) HD Graphics 5500".. Shouldn't it also have an AMD diver? I've also read somewhere that you can have both types of drivers installed and switch between them.. something or other..I have been trying to install the AMD CCC for 2 days now, to no avail.. I always get the same error: "Install package failure". Tried many different solutions suggested on various support forums and the result is always the same.
If anyone could shed some light on my situation, it would be greatly appreciated.

I have just formatted and installed windows 7 from XP, but I cant do anything unless I am in safe mode networking or uninstall graphics driver while in safe mode and then boot up normally without any graphics driver installed.

Reason behind this is, No matter what I do computer freezes screen goes black then comes on again with the error message, Display driver stopped responding but has recovered, It can do this a few times in a row or just instantly crash and reset or BSOD, this never happened with XP ever, my pc is clean, my graphics card works fine. I have tried installing latest ATI catalyst but still the same problem, I cant even use my computer to just browse things, nevermind play a game havent been able to even get that far. This happens as soon as it loads up with drivers installed.

My graphics card is an ATI Radeon HD 4850 ASUS Custom.

All i wanted to do was install windows 7 since XP isnt supported anymore and now my pc is screwed I dont know what to do I Have tried many different solutions if anybody could help it would be great.

Thanks.

Answer:Display driver stopped responding but has recovered then crash

Are you certain the power cables are secure on the graphics card and it is properly seated?
This often occurs when there is a power supply issue.

Meanwhile since you've apparently been messing with the graphics driver already let's clean that up.
First boot up safe mode as you have been and use this tool to make sure you've removed all the ati drivers, and the catalyst control center in it's entirety (the uninstaller doesn't actually remove it all)
Phyxion.net - Driver Sweeper

After that you want to download again (this can be done booting safe mode with networking)
A fresh install of the latest driver for your graphics card gpu.
that can be found here.
for 32 bit windows 7-
ATI Radeon

for 64bit windows 7 -
ATI Radeon

amd/ati is where you should be getting those drivers from, if you are going to asus for them, you are getting horribly outdated graphics drivers.

Have a look at those possibilities and we'll move on from there.

I made a post about this before but then i knew less about the problem: nvidia gpu driver crashes in game/3d!!!

Ive been fiddling about with my laptop trying to resolve the problem for months, and still it didn't work! I reinstalled windows but nothing!

I need some help, I could buy a new mobo or I could get help from you guys. Any suggestions perhaps???

Answer:Graphics card/driver not working!!!

If you reinstalled the OS and GPU drivers and its still doing it, I'd say it's a hardware issue then.

Either see if you can replace the GPU itself or you'll have to replace the whole motherboard. I don't know what model your laptop is nor what nVidia GPU you have, so you'll have to look to see if the card is removable or if it's built into the board.

I bought a y410p last December and I am extremely satisfied with it, but I would like to put in another GT 755m graphics card into the ultrabay, but I have only been able to find a removable graphics card for the y510p. I was wondering if anyone knows if and when the y410p version is coming out, or if there are any alternatives. Such as whether putting the y510p graphics card into my y410p would fit/work or any other alternative. Thank you in advance.

Answer:Y410p Graphics Card Upgrade Question

Y410p is not built to accomodate a second GT755M card. Although, there have been a few mods which people have implemented to fit a card in that Ultrabay slot. The mod includes modifying the GT755M card casing to get it to fit into the slot. Check out this thread - http://forums.lenovo.com/t5/IdeaPad-Y-U-V-Z-and-P-series/Y410P-Sli-Problems/m-p/1508198#M118852

Lenovo y410pWindows 8 64 bit Intel i5 4200mNvidia GeForce GT 755m I downloaded the latest Nvidia graphics drivers for the Lenovo Y410P here:http://support.lenovo.com/us/en/products/laptops-and-netbooks/ideapad-y-series-laptops/ideapad-y410p...After the download, I was promtped to install the files for the drivers somewhere, and after that, I ran the setup.exe in the files. A nvidia driver installation window popped up and I did a custom installation and opted for a clean installation, and was able to update the drivers successfully. I restarted the laptop to fnish the installation, but after the Lenovo loadup screen, my laptop screen just alternated between turning on and showing a blank black screen, and the screen turning off. I could not get past this, so I had no way of actually loading up Windows. I forced shut down the computer to bring up safe mode, and uninstalled the driver for Nvidia GeForce GT 755m and restarted laptop, which then loaded properly again. I installed back the factory default drivers for the graphics card from the D:\Lenovo drive, but I still want to update the graphics card drivers. Am I missing a step, or are the drivers not compatible? Also, what exactly triggers the safe mode start up when I force shut down the laptop multiple times? Sometimes I get the option to go into advanced settings (which lets me factory reset, refresh, system restore, boot in safe mode etc), and other times my laptop just automatically brings up system resto... Hi, i have a problem with my laptop: from time to time, when i'm doing regular things such as reading a document, or surfing the internet, the laptop's screen goes black and freeze for about 1-2 seconds, then gets back to normal. Right after, i got a pop-up message from taskbar that says the following: 'Display driver stop responding and has recovered'. Do you guys know how could i get rid of this ? It's quite annoying. If it's about my display driver, i've installed the latest from my laptop manufacturer's website (VAIO). Here are the specs: BR4TO92-LAPTOP.txt

hey,

i have a AMD Radeon HD 5700 graphic card and as of recently its been showing a lot of screen corruption either as soon as i get to desktop (more accurately 2-3 mins after) or 10 minutes after. i not everytime i turn the computer on it will show this detect drivers done, no driver found thing even though the computer says the graphic card is running fine and detects it..

The oddest thing is if it stops having its fits i can play games perfectly fine without any hiccups or the problem ever occurring again(until i turn the computer off and deal with it the next time i turn it on) and it has blue screened but only once saying "attempt to reset display driver and recover from timeout failed" along with *** STOP: 0x00000116 (0xFFFFFA800AF9A4E0,0xFFFFF88003C91CAC,0x0000000000000000000,0

i don't know what the problem is, some people said it was due to a bad driver install or that version or its a bad stick of ram, some said the bios need to be updated. Its not due to overheating i don't think, the graphic cards temp was 38-40c the entire time..

Do i need a new graphics card? or is this a windows 7 coding bug or something, could it be a dust build up?

So I seem to have been having a problem when playing 2 certain games. One is called Heroes of Newerth (HON), and the other Runescape. At random peak times when my memory usage increases a lot, my screen flickers off and flickers back on randomly. It stays on for quite awhile then, and may just happen randomly after that. I'm not sure if it's actually linked to the memory usage or not, as sometimes when I play HON, my memory usage isn't incredibly high, and I tend to have this problem.

I have an issue with what seems like an graphics card problem. Every once in a while my graphics card stops working. So anything that needs any gpu power wont work. Browser videos and games. I have noticed couple of symptoms when my graphics card driver stops working properly. I can move my cursor slightly over the of the screen, windows 10 popup notifications wont close from "x" Sometimes the "x" doesnt even appear, task manager rows wont scale/are not "responsive" to the window. And some of the text is blurry, for example steam, task manager and File Explorer. But Chrome's text is not blurry.

Damn complex situation, but I have been messing with it for a week now. Only thing that seems to help is to reinstall display drivers everytime that happens. But its not a solution, its just an temporary fix.

I have done format C to the whole computer, checked for viruses and reinstalled drivers.

EDIT: Now even installing drivers did not help.

Windows 10
Gtx 1070 8gb
i7 6700k
using 376.33 drivers and older drivers also didnt work.

I recently formatted my laptop, I installed the same (latest) graphics driver and games just won't go fullscreen even though they used to, I tried some legacy drivers but every time they screw up somehow and end up making my videos green and even crash my explorer.exe
Is there anything else I need to make my games run fullscreen because the black borders are pissing me off.

1 solution I found was that I could just install the drivers device manager does and it lets me play fullscreen with 4:3 but the problem is that adobe flash player crashes every time I open a video.
Graphics card: AMD Radeon HD 6310
CPU: AMD E-350

Thank you for writing in to the Lenovo Forum - happy to have you here today.

It's possible that you have a ton of programs running in the background. Which can be cleaned up with task manager or even going to 'msconfig' and disabling programs at start-up. Also set your game to high priority on your laptop that way, it devotes all of its resources. Maybe even do a virus scan in safe-mode or reset your laptop to factory settings and then attempt.

I am writing this post to acquire additional information about why this may be. What I have is a Lenovo y410p that shipped with just the standard 1tb hard drive (I did not get the additional ssd). I purchased a small, working, 16gb m.2 ssd to try out in the laptop before I spend money on something much larger. I open up the laptop, plug it in (it some fiit perfectly, not a hitch) and assemble and turn the laptop back on. Now, after playing in the BIOS which doesn't allow you to change anything (horrible BIOS btw), it also does not show up in device/disk manager. According to the BIOS it does not see the drive at all. I had once, miraculously, it did see the drive, then when I booted it was gone. Does anyone have an idea how I may be able to enable that port? Or if that port on mine is busted? ... Key Points- The m.2 drive itself is working, and tested in an external enclosure- Drive has showed up in BIOS like twice, randomly, then not after computer is booted- Drive has never shown up in device/disk manager- I know this is the right drive, m.2 ngff ssd because it fits and is not pci-e based. Any information would be greatly appreciated. I know there is not a whole lot of documentation on this issue anywhere else, so we may be able to help someone else out as well!

Answer:Lenovo Y410p M.2 SSD port not working

It might need to get the drive initialize and then install a program to make it act as a cache. I'm not sure if the program is Expresscache but take a look at this procesure if it is what you need.

TLDR: Graphics card and wlan card randomly stop working!!

I've posted this on other forums so far no help . so heres my problem. I use my computer on average 3-10 hours a day. I usually play games or im surfing the net. now sometimes my wlan card and my graphics card just stop working. they both dont appear in the device manager, I cant plug in my monitor through the graphics card coz the screen just stays black, and the wireless internet icon on the bottom right of the windows screen just says "no connections available". Im not 100% on this but it seems like this occurs after playing games for long periods of time im pretty sure the games I play arent too heavy for my system (empire:total war, skyrim etc). I took my pc to the repair shop before and everything was working fine when they tried it. I dont think its a problem with the wlan or graphics card coz sometimes they work perfectly, then suddenly they just stop working. when this happens it usually gets fixed when I wait for a day, open up the pc and clean everything then perform a system restore. I have no idea whats wrong. Is everything compatible? could it be overheating? could the motherboard be faulty? Its very unlikely that both these parts just stop working at the same time.

Noteworth:
-Sometimes when the wlan card stops working, the light on the card itself isnt lit up, but sometimes it is.

-These problems dont always occur at the same time.

I've posted on these forums about this problem before, it is one I've been struggling with for a long time.
I run a game, and at some point during the game will freeze momentarily, minimize and I'll get the 'Graphics driver has failed and has recovered' error.

Now, apart from the RAM and CPU, which both have been tested, every single component in my case has been replaced and tested thoroughly not just by me, but by the people in a computer store nearby who had been consulting me about the problem.
They couldn't find any faults with the hardware and since it was a fresh installation of Windows 7, that didn't seem to be the problem either.
Nevertheless, after a week of testing several different options they found nothing.

I've now installed a Windows XP dualboot and was surprised to see that the problem doesn't occur on XP.

All hardware is completely Windows 7 approved.

Does anyone have a clue as to what is causing this and how I might stop it from happening?
It's a gaming rig that I invested quite a bit in, and it really feels like a waste having to stick with Dx9.

Thank you.

When looked at in Device Manager there is a yellow/black exclamation mark next to the intel VGA 82865G graphics controller.I have tried restarting, system restore, and ran virus scans, spybot, etc. to no avail.I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the driver for graphics controller from both Dell and also from Intel. It will not allow me to reinstall the driver. Earlier I uninstalled, shut down and tried to let the computer find it's own way and reinstall. I got this message"There was a problem installing this hardware: Video Controller (VGA Compatible)
An error occurred during the installation of the device
The I/O operation has been aborted because of either a thread exit or an application request."
I don't know what else to do. Do you have any suggestions? Thank you so much!

Answer:Graphics card not working and won't accept driver reinstallation

Try to trouble shoot step by step.
I am assuming you are running windows (probably XP).
boot into safe mode (F8)
through device manager make sure all drivers are uninstalled for video card.
reboot back into safe mode. attempt to install the newest drive (might not work, thats okay)
restart into regular mode, cancel any attempt to install drivers, then navigate to the dell driver and install. reboot and allow the pc to auto install.

the second step is to drive to find another video card and test to see if it work.

Hi all,

I?m having problem with my nvidia Geforce FX Go5200, in a Satellite Pro M30 laptop, (Intel Pentium M processor 1.7 GHz, 512 Ram). This card was working fine suddenly the notebook stops.

I have formatted the notebook and installed Win XP PRO. After installing the VGA driver I restarted the notebook but black screen started coming up right after the Win XP splash screen appears. The notebook continues to start up but no screen.

It starts just fine in safe mode. I get my best screen by simply disabling the geforce card or uninstalling the driver. I tried to install a new driver for the VGA from the Toshiba download site but same problem appears. I have also tried updating BIOS but nothing happens.

Anyone can help me?

Answer:Satellite Pro M30 graphics card not working when driver is installed

Hi,

you should try the recovery CD to reinstall the system.
If this also doesn't help, the graphics card must be faulty.
Then you should contact Toshiba service.

Answer:Where can I buy a Y410P Nvidia Ultrabay Video Graphics Card GT750M

I have a y510p with the same question regarding the Ultrabay Removable Graphics Card NVidia GT750M. I bought my laptop in the US but I now live in Southeast Asia where Lenovo parts and laptops are a dime a dozen. Unfortunatley I cannot find ANY Ultrabay cards. Anyone have any online suggestions?

Hi, i just received the recovery disks that i ordered thru the support phone # for the Lenovo Y410P, since the OS totally crashed and partitions were not booting. I got my screen replaced a few weeks ago and when I got my laptop back my touchpad was not working. It would work on and off but everytime I turned of my laptop and turned it back on the touchpad would stop working. I tried a few things like updating my laptop and troubleshooting and it would get my touchpad to work for a little bit but then it would just stop working again. Its now not even showing up in the device manager. I don't know if it's a dirver issue with windows 10 or if something happened when my screen was being replaced. I tried looking on the lenovo website for downloads but I don't see any windows 10 touchpad downloads for this laptop model. HELP. I have a mouse that plugs into my usb but i'd really like my touchpad to work again.

About a week ago I got a popup from Norton Internet Security that said "We've detected an intrusion attempt from such and such IP address with the DeepThroat Trojan. This attack was blocked."

I didn't like the way that sounded so I did research on that trojan, but from what I read on the internet it didn't sound like I had it.

I ran scans with:
SpyBoy
AdAware
Norton Anti-Virus
Panda ActiveScan

And all came up clean.

Then some people said AVG was a good anti-virus, so I downloaded that, ran it, it came up clean, and then I deleted it because it slowed my computer down like crazy (constant 100% CPU usage, etc.)

Ever since then, I've been getting weird warnings and weird random program crashes.

I downloaded Firefox 3 the other day and it crashes a LOT. Some of the other programs I run have been randomly crashing, too (stock trading and charting programs).

I decided I was going to do a system restore to a month ago, but when I went into System Restore, ALL MY RESTORE POINTS WERE GONE!! I know I didn't delete them, so I'm wondering if some malware I picked up did.

I use Firefox for browsing 99.9% of the time so I usually feel safe surfing the web.

I'm using WinXP SP2.

edit - I forgot to mention that I came home from the gym the other day and when I got to my computer Firefox had crashed, all my other programs had crashed, and when I restarted Firefox, my computer rebooted. When it rebooted, there was a message from TeaTimer saying th... Read more

You know what? Nevermind. It turns out a RAM chip I recently installed had gone bad.

I downloaded memtest86 and some other RAM checking program and burned the ISO files to a CD and booted my computer from them, and it failed a few tests.

I swapped out the RAM and I haven't had a problem since.

So feel free to lock this thread :D

My computer recently crashed while on a screen-saver and since then I could not boot into windows except in safe mode.
However, after a bit of reading I managed to pin down the problem: it seems to be the NVIDIA GeForce 8500 GT Graphics card or drivers. (this is the card which came with my PC and has never given me any problems until now)

I know this is the problem because I uninstalled the NVIDIA display driver, and then when I booted back up; windows started working again - BUT ONLY WITH THE BASIC PC DRIVERS - NO GRAPHICS CARD.

Once I updated to the latest NVIDIA drivers (I tried doing this from windows auto update AND NVIDIA's website) it has to restart in order to fully install....and then back to square one: it doesn't boot into windows - just gets to the windows loading bar - then black screen and then restarts - no error messages, nothing.

Does anyone know how to fix this? Is this a driver problem or is it the actual NVIDIA graphics card? And if it's not the card then why won't the drivers work?

(BTW: I am using VISTA Home Premium 32 bit)

I attached the file asked for and here are my system specs listed below:

Prebuilt Gateway PC - FX6860
OS: Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit
Processor: Intel Core i7 3770
Card: AMD Radeon HD 7770 2GB
12GB RAM

I'll try to describe what's happening as best I can. I've run into multiple issues when trying to either record game footage with Fraps or when trying to render videos in Vegas Studio 11 HD. What ends up happening is the screen will go black for 2 to 5 seconds and then come back with Graphics driver has failed and recovered. The application I'm using at the time will remain a blank window while the desktop and everything else will reappear. I am also unable to close out of the application I was using without using the task manager to do so.

I'm not computer literate and so I can't really do much. I had a friend run memtest and it came back normal. All my drivers are up to date, windows is up to date. So far this issue has only happened when using Fraps and Vegas so I'm not sure if this is purely a software problem or if it indicates something is wrong with a component in the computer.

One other thing to note is that under the CCC I've monitored temps with both the side of my tower on and off when this error happens. With the case on it was running at 61c and with it off it happened with it at 43c. This would lead me to believe it isn't related to my machine running to hot.

In the action center after this happens it lists video hardware error and the following:

im looking for advice about which PCI (yes i know it sucks but i have not other slots) video card and im thinking about the his x1550 256mb one. currently im using a 128mb fx5200 which gives my an aero score of 2.0 and gaming score of 2.6 (25% overclock made it go up by 0.1). It actually runs fairly well except for the media centre where it tends to lag a bit and is a bit choppy. anyway will this video card prove to be an improvement? and if so what aero/game score would i get?

I only intend to use it as a temporary solution until i get a new computer next financial year.

Answer:Advice: New (temporary) vista graphics card

I doubt that a PCI card, no matter how good it is, will affect your score significantly due to the limited bus speed.

I have lenovo y410p. While I was playing dota2, it has message alert "display driver stopped responding nvidia" this game will shut down and also in csgo game. How to solve this problems.

Answer:Lenovo Y410p display driver stopped responding nvidia while playing games

Hi God,

Welcome to Lenovo Forums.

We are really sorry to hear about the issue you are facing.

Firstly, which operating system is running on your laptop?

This error occurs when Timeout Detection and Recovery (TDR) feature detects that the graphics card (GPU) does not respond within a period of time and reinitializes it with the Windows Display Driver Model (WDDM).

Reasons could be:

The display driver is outdated, missing, corrupted or broken.
Your video card is very old and there isn't a fully compatible video driver for your Windows OS.
There are too many programs running at the same time in the background, which causes conflicts.
It takes more time than permitted for GPU to display graphics to your monitor.

Please refer to the below link for better understanding.

Hope this helps. Let us know how you get on.

Regards,
Shashi Kumar

Hi,

hope this question hasn't been covered before, but I have owned a Satellite P200 for 3 or so years now, and this week it is crashing continously.

When it first started to go down it gave me a few messages along the lines of "your graphics card/driver is not working properly and windows will be shut down to avoid damage".

This progressed to the point where now when I turn it on I have vertical lines running down the screen, and the screen flashes on and off. Within 20 seconds, it reverts to the BSOD - "A problem has occured and windows will be shut down. Error Page_Fault_In_Non_Paged_Area" then shuts down.

I have run a system restore but the problem remains.

I get the feeling my graphics card is toast. Is this right? Are there any other options to try? Thanks in advance for any answers.

Matt

Answer:Satellite P200 crashes + message: graphics card/driver is not working properly

Hi

Sounds like GPU issue.
But try the graphic card driver update.
Use the latest available driver for your graphic card.

Furthermore clean the notebooks ventilators.
Dust and debris could prevent the cooling fans from rotating with best speed and this could lead to higher temperature which would lead to overheating.
Use a compressed air spray. I use it too and it helps to get rid of dust and debris.

If this does not help, then a graphic chip issue might be possible.

Hi, i have a problem which i suspect is caused by virus. I installed a program and it turned off my windows firewall, after that, when i watch a video it starts to stutter when i'm not moving my mouse for ~10 seconds, and sometimes it causes Intel HD accelerator driver to crash. I tried logging the exe file, extracting it's contents with no luck, it seems to be locked. Tried reinstalling drivers, running all kinds of registry and malvare scanners but nothing finds anything. So now this is what happens when i start my pc:
1)Windows Firewall is turned off, but can be turned on.
2) When i watch a video on youtube, or play a game my intel hd accelertor driver crashes, if not video just lags and stutters.
Reinstalling windows fixes the problem, as i have had it before, caused by this same application.
So please help me if possible, as i don't know what else to do, because i seem to have tried everything. Thank you.

I keep getting that error while playing Skyrim on my GTX 295. It's not just Skyrim, it happens with Crysis 2 VERY often, like every 20 seconds, it happens with Deus Ex, only once though, as it crashes to desktop afterwards.

I have tried every possible driver combination, i updated to the latest beta driver and it still happens. I ran the program in XP compatibility, ran it in Iobit's Game Mode (which disables some services), and as Administrator mode. It still happens.

I ran it windowed, and also ran it as Single GPU card (which reduced the frequency of this happening, but didn't stop it), ultimately, i ran out of ideas.

Here's something interesting: Whenever i turn my computer off for 15 minutes or so, the game runs fine for 3 hours at least. My first thought was overheating, but i used EVGA Precision to measure the temperature, and it didn't go higher than 60 C when it crashed. It did, however, report a sudden spike of GPU- A usage to 100% when the error message appeared, but B remained constant.

Anyone have suggestions?

Answer:Driver has stopped working and has recovered

Possible bad/weak psu..... I'm not familiar with that brand, however 1000 watts and 70 amps on the 12 volt line is what you need for two GTX295's.....So your walking the edge at any rate.....

Dear Microsoft,
The listed issue has been in for months and is seen on most computers from most manufacturers.
The display of graphics causes the reset of the drivers and in most cases a reset of the program or web site is needed. In some cases it simply redisplays. With each update from Windows 10 the problem seem to be increasing.
The excuses for a fix are numerous and Intel keeps pointing to Microsoft and based on the issue getting wore after numerous upgraded automatically downloaded by Windows 10 software it seem neither company have a solution. We are not stupid and realize if this is a chip issue and Microsoft cannot address it and Intel must with a hardware fix the cost will be high. To simply ignore the problem and hope it will go away is not what is expected from Microsoft. A simple statement on what the two companies are doing to address the problem will help . Intel keeps stating their engineers are surely looking at the issue but will not specifically state they are leads people to think run-around.
Any response will be appreciated.

Hi there and welcome to Eight Forums,

So there seems to be at least some issues with the videocard driver. Have you tried installing the latest drivers for you motherboard aswell as the videocard?

Here you can download the latest AMD drivers ==> Download Drivers

You might also want to check for any updates for Photoshop.

Please try this and post back the results if the error still continues to bug you.

My system seems to freeze a lot due to some type of graphics card/motherboard problem. At first it used to happen a few times a week but now it happens several times a day and is disrupting my work. Sometimes the system hangs for a few seconds and then its fine; but on other occasions the screen will go blank for a few seconds then refresh itself with the above error message appearing on the taskbar. However, now the problem has got worse and my screen turns off completely and requires a reboot.
I have already tried watering down the graphics output such as turning of Aero effects etc. but this has not helped at all. I want to find out is there any way I can diagnose the problem. If its a graphics card issue I can replace the unit but if its a more serious motherboard problem I will probably just replace the whole system as its quite old.
Please advise. Thanks in advance. My specs are below:
Windows 7
Intel Core2 Duo CPU E4700 @ 2.6GHz
3GB RAM
32 bit
ATI Radeon HD 3400 Series

I am facing this problem once in each 3-4 hrs.
Everything is getting frozen and display is going black
for 2-3 seconds.Then I am getting a message like:

Display driver stopped working for Windows Vista(R)
and recovered.

The point is that I am running Windows7 Professional
(32-bit).

A few minutes ago I got a blue screen.
Everything is running fine for now but that can happen again.
Please help me solve this problem.

These are some information which might be useful:

Intel(R) G41 Express Chipset (Microsoft Corporation - WDDM 1.1)
Manufacturer: Intel Corporation
Chip type: Intel(R) 4 Series Express Chipset Family
Display Memory: 782 MB

I am getting this error after formatting my PC a few days ago.

My display driver keeps crashing whenever I try to play games. It doesn't matter what kind of game it is - it could be a full retail game or a simple, crappy browser-based game. It's just recently started doing this, and I haven't really made any changes to the computer.

I've tried troubleshooting the driver, checking for updates, and even performing clean boots, none of which fix the issue. The clean boots are never truly "clean" anyway, as there is one process that always enables itself upon startup: "FABS - Helping agent for MAGIX media database". Not sure if that's relevant or not. Oh whale.

Try running GPU-Z and see if your temps are getting to high. This typically happens for me when my temps are high. If this is the case, then you will need to get better ventilation or check if there is a big buildup of dust.

Whenever i play a game, after playing for 5 minutes, my screen freezes and the game becomes "Not responding". I have to go to the task manager and close it. This happens for graphic intensive games like GTA 5 and Battlefield 4. I am using the latest Nvidia drivers. Any help would be appreciated.

Answer:Nvidia driver has stopped working and recovered!!!

Honestly those games are going to push a laptop to its limits especially if trying to use higher graphics settings. Even a laptop with a discrete GPU will be taxed heavily. First thing, are you sure you aren't overheating?

Answer:AMD display driver stopped working and has recovered

It seems to me that there are two possibilities. The first being that you may not have the latest display driver, you should check that and update if necessary. The second is that you are trying to play a game at a resolution that your card cannot handle, in which case you need to look at the game specification and compare it to the spec for your card to see if it is suitable for that game.

I wonder if I can post this here, but I've been having problems with the ATI drivers for my HD Radeon 5770, 1GB, XFX XXX version. I had just recently wiped the computer due to the problems in an effort to locate the issue, reinstalling Win 7 and prior programs, then making a system image and repair disc just before putting two things back on it: MS Office 2007--an update that never seems to update for it I thought was the problem, but it wasn't, and the new ATI drivers (10.2 to 10.4 were messing up my display).

I keep getting the "(AMD) Display driver has stopped working and has recovered", after the monitor getting random flecks of whatever color, then the screen going entirely (insert solid color here) before giving that message. Sometimes it even freezes my computer and I'm forced to reset computer.

On the standard, generic drivers, everything was absolutely fine, but not on any of the ATI ones (even from the installation disc). I can't roll back the drivers to some previous version either.

The catch is that it only really does this when I'm doing anything else (writing an essay, watching youtube, watching House MD/some other video, chatting on AIM, surfing the web, just idle, etc.) other than gaming (Aion, WoW, Spore). It never does this when the game is running. In fact, it's absolutely fine.

Help please? D:

Answer:AMD - Display driver stopped working and has recovered

Having installed 7 fresh on an entirely new build with an MSI Radeon HD 5750 1gb model I never put the software disk in at all but went for the 10.4 right off the bat! There are no bugs with this latest Catalyst.

For simply removing the present version you have on now you simply run the setup all over but choose the uninstall option instead. Besides having drivers and the catalyst on things like Java, Adobe Flash Player, and other things haven't been installed on the fresh copy of Windows you have on now.

I have received this message at least twice this month. In addition the laptop freezes several times a day. Not sure if both problems are related. Thank you for any assistance you may provide. Ana

hey, i was playing Crysis and i can play it for about 3-4 mins then the screen goes black for 5 secs or so and then it exits the game, and i have to start the game again and then the problem occurs again,

The Display Driver has stopped Working and has Successfully Recovered

i've tried updating all the drivers and i still get the same problem , i got a BFG Geforce 9600 GT OC 512mb graphic card, does anyone know what the problem is and how i can fix it,

i think it might be the Power supply, and that the graphic card is not getting enough power to run, is that the case or should i be looking somewhere else ?

has any1 else had this problem aswell ? , if so i'd like to see some responses.

Answer:The Driver has stopped Working and Successfully Recovered

The dreaded "Display driver has stopped responding and has recovered" issue. This issue seems to be tied to Vista by the way of Microsoft's "Timeout Detection and Recovery of GPUs through WDDM"

Microsoft:

Timeout detection: The Video Scheduler component of the Windows Vista graphics stack detects that the GPU is taking more than the permitted quantum time to execute the particular task and tries to preempt this particular task. The preempt operation has a "wait" timeout?the actual "TDR timeout." This step is thus the "timeout detection" phase of the process. The default timeout period in Windows Vista is 2 seconds. If the GPU cannot complete or preempt the current task within the TDR timeout, then the GPU is diagnosed as hung.

In short, if an application takes to long to execute a task, a timeout occurs and thus your lovely "Display driver stopped responding and has recovered" error. Unfortunately there is no one fix to this, and just about anything can cause it.

For me, my issue went away when I switched video cards. I had a 3870 that was overheating and had to be RMA'd. While awaiting my replacement, I decided to purchase an ATI 4850 - the surprise is that the display stopped responding error has been completely eliminated on my system.

Am I suggesting you replace your video card? No. There are various opinions on the cause(s) and solution(s) to the problem, and unfortu... Read more
