Lenovo z 5070 Drive stopped working every time

Question: Lenovo z 5070 Drive stopped working every time

Hi, I have been using a Lenovo z 5070 since July2015. But after a couple of months later, I am facing a major problem. Every time when I use my laptop for about 1 or 2 hours, I can't enter any of my drives; screen on but any drive doesn't show. Just show me "Working on it......". I upgraded my laptop from win 8.1 to win10 and faced the same problem during win 8.1. Any ideas on what is happening...... suggestions on how to get rid of from this problem Thank you

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hi All, My BD ROM drive stopped working all of a sudden. It does not detect any media that used to be perfectly playing earlier. There is LED indicator activity also when I insert a CD/DVD/Blu ray. I am not sure what the issue is. I have tried uninstalling the driver and restarted it. The driver has been installed but still it does not work. I am able to see the Drive icon in the explorer and when I look for the properties it says Device is working properly. But when I insert any media literally nothing happens. Request anyones techincal troubleshooting experience/guidance in determining what the issue is and what could be solution. Unfortunately, my warranty expired in Novemeber 2012 I guess.

Hello everyone. I have a problem with my in-built microphone. I have reset my computer using the option windows provides and ever since then my microphone won't work. I have tried  setting the mic as default, uninstalling and installing Realtek drivers. I have installed the drivers from Lenovo page. At the recording tab i see that "Mic in at front panel (black)" is not connected. Any help is appreciated.

Answer:Lenovo Y-5070 In-built Microphone Issue

Hello CosmicJokeThanks for using the Lenovo forums.Try to download the Audio and Chipset drivers for the unit from the support page.

Make sure to reboot after an update on the unit. Also, Try a static discharge for this, it may help to resolve the issue or at least get rid of any built up static on the motherboard.(If the battery is internal, please just skip the remove/replace battery steps.)1. Turn the unit off2. Remove the battery and the Mains adapter3. Press and hold the front power button for 30 seconds4. Replace the battery and the Mains adapter5. Turn the unit on as normal
Hope this helps, let us know how you get on.==================================================================================Did someone help you today? Thank them with a Kudo! If you find a post helpful and it answers your question, please mark it as an "Accepted Solution"!

I have a Dell Inspiron one 2305 all in one PC. Came with Win 7, I updated to Windows 10 about a year ago. First few month every thing was great! every thing worked fine. Then Cortana stopped working after a while I can no t search for anything. If you try to type a question it only allow you to type in Two letter and it quits on you. I tried the search trouble shooter but it could not Identify the Problem.
Second thing, MY Optical disk reader stopped after a update Oct 30 2016, I tried the trouble shooter same thing, I tried the Dell fix it, it said update the driver, went to do that that it said i have the lastest drivers, and it found no problem with my disk r/w. I am scared to try and reload win 10 online, because i have no disk reader to load win 7 if there a problem, reloading win 10, I will be totally shut out if a problem accords. Does any one have a solution to any of these problems? Help Please

Answer:Windows 10 Optical disk drive stopped and Cortana stopped working

Open Device Manager > DVD/CD-ROM drives > Right Click > Update drivers.
Else you may Uninstall the driver, use Scan for hardware changes and install fresh latest drivers.
If you familiar with BIOS settings, enter BIOS and select the Load Optial Defaults setting to restore defaults.

Answer:Windows time has stopped working.

Windows Time errors are mostly caused by problems with the Windows Time server being down/out of service (or the system not being connected to the Internet).
If the computer is keeping good time, and the error is only intermittent - then it's not an issue.

My Sony PCV 100g running XP is step by step not working.

First the built in CD drive was not recognized.
Then the Lexmark printer isn't recognized.
Next the Liteon cd rom drive is recognized, titles read, 'check to see if other sound devices using this program'; no music or reading of program cd.
Then XP, SP3 cannot be installed even after downloading separately, turning off all security, following suggestions I have found on this and MS sites.
Comodo shuts down part way through a scan.
Without one of the drives working I cannot even use 'restore disks',
am running out of options and gadgets.

Are these problems related by a common thread, or are they separate issues?

By far the simplest fix is to use Windows System Restore to roll Windows back to a point in time when your computer was functioning correctly. It allows you to undo system changes without affecting your personal files, such as e-mail, documents, or photos.Video: Fixing a problem using System RestoreIf that doesn't help, try restoring an earlier system image or backup. No suitable restore point, backup, or image available? Kick yourself -- you missed the easy solution, and you're left with digging through Windows' many settings.

My computer just recently installed some new updates from windows 10 and all of the sudden my touchpad stopped responding to touch or click. Also my volume is set to 100% and if I try to lower it manually it just climbs back up to 100% again. I have already tried the advanced settings for the touchpad and it didn't fix the problem. The only way I can do things is by using the touch screen which is rather annoying for me. Help!

Answer:My touchpad stopped working at the same time as my volume did... help!

Looks like some keys are jammed or maybe clogged with dust. You can try cleaning the keyboard connector and also underneath the keys and check if this helps.

I'm on Windows XP Service Pack 2 I believe.

My computer was running fine last night. I get up to grab a drink, come back to find my keyboard and mouse are both no longer working. I started freaking out thinking there was something wrong with my computer, but had no idea what to do. After a few hours I decided to test my keyboard and mouse on another computer to make sure which was not working properly - my computer or the keyboard and mouse - and they weren't working on the other computer either.

I'm just posting here to make sure my assumptions are or are not correct: that it's not my computer, but by some extremely rare chance of coicidince, my keyboard and mouse just stopped working at the same time. Any input is much appreciated.

Good Evening,

Earlier today my desktop icons stopped working. It happened without any warning or strange behavior from the rest of my computer. My Internet Explorer still worked and my programs still worked, but I had to access my computer programs through the start menu to get them opened.

The desktop icons did not give any error messages; they simply did not highlight and would not allow me to select them. Having no luck in searching out information about this issue in a general Google search, I came to your website to follow the instructions on how to check for malware.

I found further computer problems when I tried to follow the instructions under the heading: READ & RUN ME FIRST Malware Removal Guide (incl. spyware, virus, trojan, hijacker). When I got to Step 3: Configuration & Setup I was not able to complete the steps for How to view hidden, system files & folders because I could not select Folder Options.

Try as I might, the computer acted just like it had with the icons; I could not highlight or select Folder Options but I could select the other choices under the Appearance and Personalization heading. Moreover, IE began locking up the Major Geeks website. I had to keep opening a fresh IE window in order to get back the your instructions.

Then, all of a sudden, as quickly as it started...it ended. The computer simply began responding and all went back to normal. Despite my relief, I was nervous and decided to continue throu... Read more

I bought a new lenovo G560. It was working good for about three weeks and then it just turned off itself once, after I could barely turn it back on even it does it works for an hour or so, sometimes just a couple of minutes, sometimes doesn't even load windows, just shuts itself down. I manage to download Everest, it said the temperatures were about 45-60C because I thought it might be an overheating problem, but it doesn't seem to be overheating. One friend suggested that it might be a bug or something, so I did the one key recovery, was pretty happy that it stayed on long enough and thought that maybe it did the trick, but nothing really changed. So I really have no idea what's wrong. Also I tried calling lenovo customer service. I am in UK. First time called them nothing happened, just nothing no answer, so I found another number online, called it and it was quit interesting. It said to chose option one so I did, but then the guy said I'll redirect you and then chose option one, so he just redirected me back to the begining, so I press option one again, a woman tells me that I have to call another number, it's the same that didn't work last time, it works this time, but when I have to choose between two options none of them work, i press option two like a million times, nothing happenen, maybe it's my phone but it did work before... so not entirely happy with the cutomer service rigth now. Also, since I got the laptop from amazon, that's maybe my wrong choice, so they said... Read more

Hi, I've not been using my laptop much so it was sat for quite a while, I recently started to use it and it was going fine it was already at factory default so when I started using it again I set up a new account etc and it was working okay until it asked for a mandatory update. I tried to do the update but it kept going up to 15% then dropping back to 12% then it came up that there was a problem and it was going to revert the changes, it was on this screen all night and then it lost power. I tried again the next day hoping a factory set would restore it (i couldn't find the option) I tried a full reset, not knowing if this is the same thing or not and that was just stuck at 1% and then lost power... now, my laptop boots, diagnoses repair, attempts repair and fails and brings me to a recovery optionit also can't find any restore points what should I do?

Have you tried running an OKR (one key recovery) ? there is an Arrow back button (novo button) right next to your system power button, while the system is powered off press that to initiate system recovery. I would warn you that running an OKR would wipe out all your data on disk C with hope of bringing the system back to factory OEM state.

When I "restart" my Y500 using windows 8.0, it takes a minimum of 15 minutes.  Sometimes, if I have time to wait, it takes more than one hour.   90% of the time, I restart it using the on/off button.  No problems at all using the button, but the software takes a VERY long time or won't restart at all--just the green screen with the word "restart."

Hello, I was very happy to receive my new Lenovo T460s 6 weeks ago and immediately installed Windows 10 which worked flawless from the first try.I set up Windows Hello using fingerprints of the whole family and it worked great. This week I realized that fingerprint sign-in stopped working, saying "Windows Hello isn't available on this device". So I started my search through the web and did:- Uninstalled the Synaptic WBDI device (several times)- Updated the driver for the Synaptic WBDI to the latest version 5.1.311.26 (several times)- Installed all Windows Updates- Searched the whole registry for "Hello" and "fingerprint"- Finally did a "reset" of windows keeping my files None of the above helped. There is no Lenovo fingerprint tool installed, PIN correctly configured and I tried all possible "solutions" proposed on the web... The Synaptic WBDI device seems to run fine, which makes me think that it's not the HW itself. So my questions:- How can I check that the Fingerprint reader is working?- How can I get Windows Hello back to regular operation? Thank you very much and best regards,Werner

Moreover, the "Autoroute Lock" icon disappeared from the "Quick Actions" on the "Notification Panel".Also, the lock screen setting from "Options / Display" disappeared. The autorotation lock button on the left side of the laptop either does not react. Can anyone tell me what's going on? How can I repair this function?

Answer:Lenovo Y50-70 USB 3.0 ports stopped working suddenly

hi haemming,

Welcome to the Forums.

Can you try the following:
1. Boot into the BIOS by continuously tapping F2 on boot-up. Once in the BIOS, hit F9 to load factory default settings then hit F10 to save and exit (this reloads the hardware configuration of the machine). Once inside Windows, uninstall the USB 3,0 driver (Device Manager > Universal Serial Bus Controllers) then scan for hardware changes.

When the USB device comes back, try to test your phone or any USB device (e.g., USB mouse, flashdrive, etc.) and observe.

2. If same problem, try to power down the machine > press the OneKey Recovery button > select System Recovery and test if the mouse will work on the USB 3.0 port
 - Sample image

Alternatively, you can also hold the Shift key then restart Windows and observe if the USB mouse will work on the Windows 8 Advanced Options.

If none of the above method works then I recommend you contact the lenovo helpdesk and report your findings as the USB 3.0 port is definitely malfunctioning and requires service.

Background: I bought my refurbished Lenovo Y500 laptop in June. It came with a 1TB HDD and a 16GB SSD for caching.

Current problem: The other day I noticed that my laptop had become unresponsive. The laptop has a pre-existing problem where it cannot be put to sleep or it will usually crash, so I just leave it on unless I know I won't be using it for a while. I had been out of the room for a few hours, and when I returned I turned the screen on and the laptop was mostly frozen. I was able to move the mouse, but everything else on the screen was frozen. According to the time displayed on the screen, it had been frozen for 3 hours. I forced a shutdown and restarted it. It took much longer to startup than usual, but otherwise seemed to be working. After a few minutes of web browsing though, my browser became unresponsive for about a minute or so. When the cursor stopped spinning, a message popped up from the Intel Rapid Storage tray icon saying that the SSD had been removed. After this, the laptop was working pretty much like normal again but a little less responsive.

When trying to restart it, the laptop screen turned off but all the power lights remained on and the fan kept running. I waited a while but the fan seemed to start running faster and the air blowing out seemed very hot so I forced it to shut down again. Restarting it again led to the exact same scenario: becomes unresponsive after some use, SSD disappears, and won't shutdown or restart properly.

Answer:16GB SSD in Lenovo Y500 Stopped Working

The OK status is just based on SMART data. If the values stay within defined tresholds it will say everything's fine even if the drive was on fire. You're not the first with this problem. Answer:Lenovo T400 keys stopped working

Hi,

Welcome to Lenovo Community Forums!

I?m sorry to hear that a few keys in the keypad of your Lenovo ThinkPad T400 is not working properly.

Check if the keys are working in different applications. Some keys such as the function keys F1 through F12 will not work with every program. An easy way to test this is to open notepad or other word processing program and trying the key. Try getting into safe mode and see if the keys work. Remove the key from the keyboard and clean it. In some situations dirt, hair, dust, etc. can obstruct keys causing them not to work.

Please try to get into BIOS mode and see if the keyboard is working there. Tap F1 key while system shows the Lenovo logo to get into BIOS.

1. If you are able to use the keyboard in BIOS, it could be a software issue. I would recommend in that case to do a System Restore which will revert the settings in your system to a previous time.
2. If keyboard doesn?t respond in BIOS as well, probably it?s a hardware failure and keyboard has to be replaced.

Please let me know the happenings!

Best regards,
Mithun.

I own a Lenovo Ideapad Y560p. It has various Lenovo programs pre-installed: Slidenav, Onekey Theater, Lenovo Splitscreen, Lenovo DirectShare and so on. Almost all of these programs have stopped working and will not start if I double-click their icons. If they do work, I can't see them working. For instance, the Slidenav bar lights up briefly on startup, but no Slidenav action available at all. The same with Onekey Theater, etc. OneKey Recovery still works. So does YouCam. I must have switched off or removed something in the software, perhaps in the system software, by accident. Or perhaps my Windows 7 O/S is packing up. How can I get my Lenovo pre-installed programs working again?

Hi, I've had my P500 for about 1 1/2 years, and it was working perfectly, until recently, when all of a sudden my Caps Lock, F1 (also the mute key), 2, s, w, and x keys stopped working. I've never spilled water on it, and never let it bump into anything. I feel like it's a connection problem inside the keyboard, but have no idea what to do. Any ideas on how to tackle this issue?

Answer:Lenovo P500 Keys stopped working

Hi Tahmeed704,

The problem keys are on a series row (2wsx)
This prettymuch seem like a hardware problem,
Verify this by opening an Onscreen keyboard and check if the Onscreen keyboard are working with those keys
How to Open Onscreen Keyboard ( Press WIndows key + R and type in OSK)

If Verified Hardware Issue,
You can refer to this System's Maintenance Manual on how to access the Keyboard connection
http://download.lenovo.com/consumer/mobiles_pub/ideapad_z500p500_hmm_1st_edition_sep_2012_english.pd...
and this video guide https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q98Bf6Z041w

Also

You can call Lenovo Technical Team for Assistance if you're not comfortable removing parts.

Hope this helps
Cheers!

So ive encountered a recuring problem with my V110 laptop. The HDMI port on the computer is sometimes not working. Usually it takes a couple of hours each time to get it working again but im getting annoyed that this is a requrring problem. (general things ive done is make sure the HDMI ports on tv works, changed hdmi cable, changed computer ect to verify its a problem with the V110)Generally the HDMI port stops working after either windows updates, or software installs, however this time it did not work to roll back any updates or uninstall any programs. Ive disabeled and re-enabled graphics drivers, updated graphics drivers, rolled back a windows sequrity update that came into play 13th/14th of sep. 2017.Nothing shows up under display adapter in device manager, and ive tried many of the suggestion fixes on different forum posts to no solution.I'm fresh out of ideas. Anyone have any suggestions before i just reinstall windows in hope that no updates will screw over the HDMI port?

Answer:Windows10 (64-bit) - Lenovo Z50-70 Touchpad stopped working

Hi there, Sohailur                    -

Thank you for writing in to the Lenovo Forum - happy to have you here today.

Just found the same problem with my lenovo Z50. Touch pad completely non responsive.

Under start menu, settings, devices, mouse & touchpad, additional mouse options, elan tab. The elan touchpad settings were completely grayed out and unavailable.

So from there I went to the window search in the task bar and typed in "computer management? and opened the computer management desktop app. Under device manager selected mice and other pointing devices and then elan input device. In the elan properties window that opened I selected uninstall to uninstall the driver and in the next box that opened warning that the driver was about to be uninstalled l checked the delete driver and then OK. Then restarted windows. In the process of restarting windows detected the elan touchpad as a new device and installed the driver in time for the login screen. So my elan touch pad is now working again.

Here is the link to download the Lenovo Windows 10 driver for the touchpad from our support site.  -> TouchPad Driver Windows 10

I got my T400 two years ago. Originally it had win XP, and everything worked fine. Then I got the windows 7 update. After reformatting my hardrive and installing windows 7, many of the original functions that had come with the computer stopped working. The functions that Stopped working were: the blue thinkpad button, the mute button (though the volume up/down buttons work), and all of the Fn+ (F2-f12) combinations. I let it go until now, but I have recently wiped my drive to start over and reinstalled windows 7 and I hope that I can get back some of the functionality that I lost in the past. Is there any way I can make all of this work the way it was designed to out of the box? Also, on the front left side of the base, there are two gray square pop-out toggle buttons? Does anyone know what their function is?

Answer:All lenovo functions stopped working after installing Windows 7

Was that Win 7 update from Lenovo, or Microsoft?  If Lenovo, it should have installed those missing features. If it was from Microsoft, you have to manually install the Lenovo drivers and software.

The easiest way to do that is to first install ThinkVantage System Update and run it.  It should download and install the other drivers and apps.  I'm running Win 7 pro 64 on my T400 - a MS upgrade clean install, then TVSU installed the Lenovo stuff.  Everything works.

Use the "SUPPORT" button at the top of this page, then "Download drivers and software" enter T400, install TVSU and you should be off to the races.

Hi, I have a Lenovo Ultrabook with Windows 8, and a little while back the sound just stopped working. It's not the speakers - it still makes sounds when being switched on/off etc, it's just when trying to play music/videos/games that it doesn't work. I've read somewhere that one of the endless updates this thing subjects you to had a glitch that caused similar issues for other people, but I haven't been able to fix it. Any of you amazing people got any advice? Thanks in advance!

Hello! I'm not quite sure how but my up arrow key stopped working today. The rest of the arrow keys work fine, but I have not been able to use the up key. I've tried restarting my computer to no avail and it seems that the Fn key doesn't work either. I'm not sure if it's a driver issue or something with the hardware. I was simply typing when it stopped working, so I am not sure if I somehow damaged it. I had previously had my laptop repaired in November for a graphics driver issue but I do not believe that has any correlation. Thank you, any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi there, I am using a Lenovo Y50 laptop and it has worked great for me for close to a year. However, things took and unexpected turn for the worst today. My keyboard and mouse just stopped working, abruptly. This occurred after a Windows update earlier today. Now I get a 'Code 10' Error message on the Device Manager for the 'Standard PS/2 Keyboard' and the 'PS/2 Compatible Mouse' The code reads the following in full for both: This device cannot start. (Code 10)Insufficient system resources exist to complete the API. Please let me know what the next step to take is. P.S. I've tried updating the drivers and have restated countless times. Thank you in advance!

For an entire week now, I am struggling trying to get the audio to work again on my G50-70 laptop, but to no avail. Here is what I have tried so far without success: Downloaded new updated Driver from Lenovo, Conexant, Driver Version 8.65.28.50. After installation, still no Audio. All settings have been verified to be correct, but no sound.Uninstalled it, re-installed it again, checked all services, still nada.Remove all Windows Updates going back 1 month, since thhis happened right after a Windows update, still no success.Did a "Restore" selecting a date 4 weeks back, still no success. So short of doing a "Recovery" ( and I hate the idea of re-downloading all the software I have accumulated over time), what else can I do. Someone please HELP!!!!

Answer:Lenovo G50-70 Audio stopped working after a Windows update on Win 8.1

Hi Yambuta,

Welcome to Lenovo Community Forums!

Open your Device Manager (WIndows key + X) and select Device manager.
Open under Sound and gaming controllers.
Right click you Conexant and choose to uninstall
Now
On the pop up message to delete driver software, Make sure that the delete driver software for this device is checked.

Then continue

Now restart the computer and open device manager again and uninstall the sound driver again.
Keep on repeating these steps until the uninstall driver Pop up message Delete driver software don't show any box to check on. this means We're on the generic driver.

Hello, just to let you know that after some of the recent updates the pinch to zoom function of the touchpad stopped working (tested with pictures, pdf, word). I do not use that very frequently so i cannot tell when exactly the bug came, but i remember it was working 2-3 months ago max. My guess is the new version of Ultranav driver - 16.2.19.14 is buggy.

Subject says it all: suddenly I can't screengrab by simply pressing the PrtSc key.  Nothing happens when I do so.  Nothing is running that could be causing this (no OneDrive, no DropBox).  I haven't changed any settings; at least not intentionally.  It does allow me to paste the screen image into a new image file, but no longer does so automatically, which is a problem for me.  Did I accidentally screw up some keyboard setting?  Any ideas?

So first I tried opening Steam(Game Program)... Then I went to see why didn't it want to start on my laptop on youtube. My Adobe Flash Player kept crashing... So I uninstalled Mozilla Firefox and installed Google Chorme and ofcourse Adobe Flash Player again. Now on  youtube I can play videos but no sound. Then I went to Speakers(Bottom right corner) and I saw it was on 50% and not muted. I tried to put it on 75% and BAM "Volume mixer has stopped working". And Steam still doesn't start up. I am using Windows 8 any suggestions?  Edit:Now it says "Windows Shell DII has stopped working."Help would be appreciated.

Answer:Lenovo Y580 Volume Mixer Has Stopped Working

hi Mel1509,

Welcome to the Lenovo Forums.

The sound problem is probably with the drivers. Can you try to uninstall the Realtek HD Audio driver from the Control panel, reboot the PC, then try to play the sounds using the generic sound driver. If it works ok, reinstall the sound driver below:

Realtek Audio Driver
Windows 8 32bit/64bit0pau05w8.exe116MB

As for the "Windows Shell DII has stopped working" error, try to:
1. Run the system file checker
2. Run Windows Update to get the latest patches and bug fixes

If you still get the same errors and the audio driver won't install, try to:
1. Boot into Safe Mode and perform System Restore to date where everything's working fine.
2. If problem persist, consider doing a Refresh on Windows 8

Hope this helps

My Lenovo T61p-6457 has all of a sudden stopped working. When I power it up I see the that power and HDD green lights go on and from another computer on my network I can access individual files on the T61p hdd.   However when I connect the T61p via VGA cable to an external working monitor I don't see Windows or any images on the external screen! Do you think that there is only a problem with the screen or could there be something else? The currently installed screen on the T61p 6457 is WSXGA 1680x1050 (Samsung LTN154P2-LO5). I have found a working WUXGA 1920 x 1200 along with inverter and cable in the original Lenovo T61p top case housing - will this work in my T61p?

And does windows how a notification above the system tray saying that something has been inserted in the audio jack? Also did you try updating the drivers and are you inserting in the right port? One with a headphone made near it?If you really think it is a problem with the jack, then try inserting a thin ear bud in it and clean it a bit, maybe accumulation of dust is the reason?Do answer the question for further assistance!!Cheers

Hi I have a Lenovo W500 4062-5YG... O/S: Win 7 Pro My sound device is a Conexant 20561 SmartAudio HD. The problem is, that the internal speakers have stopped working all of a sudden... I think it is a hardware problem since when I hookup external speakers or headphones they produce sound... but I am no expert! I have done the following to try and fix it: Disable, then enable audio driversUinstall, then install audio driversSetting the internal speakers as the default speaker sourceRestoring the system to an earlier day (where I knew that the speakers had functioned)None of these actions have worked. I actually thought I could perform a hardware test on the speakers in the "Lenovo Solution Center"... but it doesn't seem like it:-( So... How can I know for sure whether it is a hardware or software problem? And more importantly - How can I get my internal speakers to work? Any help is appreciated. CheersPhilip

Answer:Internal speakers have stopped working (Lenovo W500 with Win 7 Pro)

Hello Philip,

As mentioned in your post, you have performed all the major troubleshooting steps to resolve the issue. I suggest you to update your BIOS also in order to resolve your issue. You can download and update the BIOS update utility from the below mentioned web link.
http://support.lenovo.com/en_SG/downloads/default.page?

Kindly click on Quick path and put your 7 Digit TYPE-Model number(40625YG) in the box and then click on the Find My Product. Please click on BIOS and then download the BIOS update utility according to your Operating System. It might resolve your issue. If it will also not work then it seem to be an issue with hardware. Kindly get in touch with the support centre they will assist you and try to resolve the issue.

Regards,
Harish

I have a Lenovo ideapad z570 which I've been using for a few weeks now with no problems. I then installed ubuntu onto it and after not being able to get the wireless to work in ubuntu I restarted and booted back into windows. In windows the wireless does not work either, after troubleshooting why it just tells me I need the turn the wireless adapter on using the switch, but the switch is already on.

Everything is enabled, I've reinstalled all the drivers and still nothing so I then did a complete system restore and still it says its 'turned off'.

Is there anything else I can do or does it sound like the hardware itself has somehow broken and I need to return it? Or is it something to do with getting ubuntu as its all happened at the same time?

Any help is appreciated!

Answer:laptop wireless stopped working, lenovo z750! help please

What wireless manufacturer is it? Atheros, Intel or Broadcom is usually the best for Linux.

Try starting up the system with it off. Once you get into windows, turn it on, any change?

Could just be a dodgy wireless card. I see this all the time. If it is accessible, in a compartment, or whatnot, try reseating the card.

Hi, I left my Lenovo U330p (bought about 1 mth ago) at rest for a while and the touchpad totally stopped working. Repeated restarts don't seem to remedy the situation, and pressing the F6 button (enabling/disenabling touchpad) does not work as well. Does anyone know what might be causing the problem? Thanks.

Answer:Lenovo U330p Touchpad stopped working suddenly

hi Mouldy,

Welcome to Lenovo Community Forums!
Try Unplugging the system from AC.
Turn the system on Then hold the Power button down till it shuts OFF and continue holding the Power button down after shutoff till another 15 sec.

If the touchpad worked again,
Go to Control Panel / Power Options / Change power setting / Advanced Power Settings and turn on hybrid Sleep.

Let me know your findings
Cheers!

Hello, I was playing a Steam game last night and all of a sudden without warning the keyboard suddenly stops working.  At first I thought it was the game so I randomly clicked around and nothing worked. I was somehow able to exit the game but the keyboard has stopped working completely. Meaning the Capslock light doesn't turn on, the numlock light doens't turn on either. I have a Windows 8.1 just to let you know.  I have tried the following. 1. Going into control panel and turning off the filter keys and toggle keys. Didn't work. 2. Going into Device Manager and uninstalling the keyboard and re-installing. Didn't work. 3. Went into Registry and messed with the UpperFiler like they told me. Didn't work.  The only thing left is a factory reset then??  I had to buy a USB keyboard and it's pretty annoying.  I was wondering if I accidentally locked the keyboard?? I don't know what else is there.  Are there any other solutions? Please let me know. Thanks.

Answer:Lenovo Edge 15 here, keyboard suddenly stopped working

Hi BassFan ,

Welcome to the Community.

Well you have done the WIndows troubleshooting pretty well , both on registry and sticky keys.  External keyboard working , and may also be working with windows onscreen keyboard too.

I would hold up the factory reset for now, knowing that it would erase everything n your harddrive and that you would need to reinstall and download all your applications and games again.

Before you decide on that , best to check if that keyboard is physically broken or not.

Turn off the pc , use Novo button (page 7 of your manual ) to turn on , Try going to the BIOS and see if the arrow keys would work , time and date to test the number keys , security password for the letters ( just for testing, don't save password).
Just press the power button to turn off , and leave the BIOS or exit without saving on Exit tab .
If internal keyboard keys works on the BIOS then you can try system restore or even factory reset,
Loading BIOS Default can also refresh the settings . (exit tab choices or F9 load defaults / F10 to save and exit)

Your hardware manual can show step to reseat  keyboard if you a tech but if you have an active warrantythen best to use it .
Else check your warranty and call in tech support for repair.
Hope every goes well . Have us updated here too so that we can share it among the community.

HiI have the Lenovo 3000 N200 purchased in August 2007. In September 2008 the battery suddenly died, it had been performing normally and had not been showing any signs of loosing battery time at all. It now will not charge at all. I can only use the computer plugged in to the power point.Has anyone else had the same problem with the N200? I notice that the N100 model had a similar problem with the battery and that the warrantly for them was extended by 6 months. Is this the same with the N200 as I am not happy about the prospect of buying another battery 13 months after purchasing this laptop.Help

Give lenovo service a call or check your warranty and get it replaced asap. by the time you realize, your warranty will be gone, so hurry up!  Dh.

I get the folowing message ,"RPCserver is unavailable". I have viewed the registry and system services and everything is set to start. Also when updating the system from Lenovo, it can't complete an update as well. I've done a thorough job of checking for trojans, spyware, and viruses and the machine is clean and no hijackers are on board. When I go to acess system restore/recovery-this fails as well.
