Lenovo Ideapad y550: shuts down when unplugged, wont start on battery. new battery did nothing.

Question: Lenovo Ideapad y550: shuts down when unplugged, wont start on battery. new battery did nothing.

Hello wonderful Lenovo user's and guru's! I have recieved a Lenovo Ideapad y550 from a pawn shop. I grabbed it because I knew this was a pretty good computer. I thought I could fix any problems it has and it would be just fine. =] So this laptop shuts down instantly if I unplug the power cord. Just dies, no time to do any saving or lights to blink. Just instant shutdown. Also when I try to power it on when its unplugged from the AC, it does nothing. Also shuts off in the middle of playing guild wars 2. No other games shut off on me. When I realized I had this problem, I ordered a new battery for my model of laptop. The new battery is doing the exact same thing as the other battery that was in it. It seems the computer has a fresh install of windows except with a .old folder in the C drive. So I am guessing someone did some sort of reformat or recover? the recovery was done through the Pawn Shop. It seems that it has windows 7 64 bit. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Preferred Solution: Lenovo Ideapad y550: shuts down when unplugged, wont start on battery. new battery did nothing.

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

The laptop states that the battery is fully charged, but it shuts down when the laptop is unplugged.please help

Answer:Ideapad 300-15isk Battery fully charged, but laptop shuts down when unplugged

Hi Raouaa, Please use Lenovo Settings to confirm the status of the battery, from your description of the issue it seems that this is a defective battery. Lenovo Settings should show you that the battery status is destroyed, if this is the case I would recommend getting in touch with Lenovo Warranty Support and getting the battery replaced if the unit is still under warranty. You can get in touch by clicking on the Contact Us link at the bottom of the page under Support.Cheers,

Answer:Shutdown when plugged/unplugged to battery charger - lenovo ideapad y510p

I had this problem. It is related to Lenovo Power Management, and the electricity used by your house. You have to unnistall the Lenovo Power Management, and install the last driver.Buy an UPS (Uninterruptible power supply). I believe that's the only solution.Since I bought my computer in US, when it came to my country there were a difference between electricity, which was causing that problem. I have an UPS for all my system, especially for Y510P, and it's really rare to happen

I just received a lenovo y550 in the mail (11/30/2009) not too long ago, and the first thing that I noticed is that the laptop won't stay on without the ac adaptor plugged in. Right when the power jack is removed from the computer, the CPU completely shuts down and stays dead.  I also noticed that the power indicator on the lower right is stuck at 84% available (plugged in, not charging). I charged the computer for over 10 hours, and the number is still the same. All in all, I'm pretty sure that the battery is the problem here. I looked all over Lenovo's page for a customer support number but I couldn't find it. ADMIN, if you're reading this, I would like to have a Lenovo Y550 battery replacement sent to me. I have the invoice #, payment/order history, etcetera for my order. Please let me know. Thanks

Answer:Lenovo Y550- Brand new, Battery doesn't charge (stuck at 84%). Need new battery.

Ideapad Y550 just out of warranty. Battery not holding a charge, no indication of it being charged. Even when on ac power, notification comes up saying battery is low and to plug it in.Called Lenovo who, after being transferred several times, put me to the "Shop"I asked for a new battery. They ordered one. I asked if he was sure it was the correct one, as it didn't seem to be the right one to me. Yes. He said.I sent an email that day to ask them to make sure it was the right battery. They wrote back saying yes it is.I waited TEN DAYS to have it delivered at a cost of just over $100 Canadian.Recieved it Friday pm and sure enough it isn't the right battery.Called a local computer store who looked it up via their distributor and the distrubutor said they don't have any .Where the h*ll am I supposed to get one of these?Last Lenovo for me.

I've been a happy owner of an Ideapad Y550 for more than a year, when suddenly my battery capacity started to drop RADICALLY. When I say radically, I mean that - say - on Monday it lasted for 2,5 hours with a full recharge, by Sunday this decreased to 10 minutes, with only 1 recharge cycle in between. Yes, I would use my laptop plugged in most of the time. I thought this wasn't normal, so I performed a complete discharge - recharge cycle but it remained the same. Windows shuts itself down automatically after 10-20 minutes uptime (from a full charge). Since I travel a lot, I need my laptop a lot as well. So I ordered a battery through Ebay from a 3rd party, for I decided not to trust Lenovo's batteries anymore. I've had many batteries before, but never saw a battery die that fast... Why I opened this topic is because I suspect there is nothing wrong with the battery itself. After I placed my order on Ebay, I found out something curious: since Linux has  totally different mechanisms, I thought I'd check the system uptime on it. And guess what: the system showed the battery level to reach 0% after 10 minutes, and IT KEPT RUNNING AT 0% FOR MORE THAN 30 MINUTES! (how long exactly, I don't know, I just discovered it last night and I fell asleep... lol) So I did some research and I've found out the following:- A lot of people have had the same experience with Ideapad machines: batteries dying on an instant, with 10 minutes uptimes, etc.- There are some ... Answer:Battery problems (Ideapad Y550)

Well, here's what I know. Windows 7 actually really does everything to ensure your active work doesn't get lost, and actually goes into a sort-of hybrid hibernation at around 2% battery. With any other laptop, you could boot back up, and drive the battery right to empty. However, it seems Lenovo has something programmed into the BIOS that prevents it from turning on once the battery reports 0%. The issue with notebook batteries is that the calculation for percentage is actually done within the battery on a charging circuit, rather than via software. Due to fluctuations in manufacturing, usually these boards are self-calibrating. I've read mixed results as to whether this can be reset on Lenovo lithium-ion batteries, but I see no reason why it cannot. The issue, of course, is the skewed results from extremely short charge/discharge cycles. Eventually, it begins to believe that your 90% is actually 0%. That, in combination with the logarithmic normal curve of battery charge capabilities causes the extremely short life. Now, if you read about the Lenovo Thinkpads, or the legacy IBM Thinkpads, they have software that basically fully discharges that battery, then fully charges it. Obviously, the consumer end does not offer this software. However, a simple electronics circuit can fully drain the battery to 0 Amp-hours. All you would do is find a way to discharge the voltage. Most likely, the best approach would be to find some indicator bulbs used... Read more

Despite the manufacturer's claim of 7 hours battery life on my Lenovo Ideapad 320S-14IKB - 81BN (S/N: MP1CHQTJ), I only get around 3-4 hours. This is with light usage, Reddit, a little bit of youtube etc. CPU usage was mostly around 0-5% the entire time. This was with the max CPU state in power settings reduced from 100% to 85%. However, I do have the screen at 100% brightness. As a different test, I tried doing (almost) nothing (apart from keeping the screen bright), and got 6 hours out of the battery. Is there a simple solution to increase this? It's only a 30 Wh battery (2 cell). Maybe in the future, a 60 Wh (4 cell?) one will come out for this model?

Okay, so my operating was originally Windows 8, I upgraded it to Windows 10. And so, when I unplug my battery, it shuts off imediately. It never leaves my desk and I just fixed it from a hard drive problem. It has 92% battery, I don't want to waste money for it, since I just fixed it. And when I search up the problem it says something about a power mode but it doesn't even show that. I'm not sure if other people have this problem but I am pretty mad. And no I never dropped it. Do I need to replace my battery if so, where and how do I replace it?

My 5 year old Dell Vostro V131 battery doesn't seem to work anymore when unplugged. When it's plugged-in and charging, the computer works fine, but the red "low battery' light blinks constantly. The battery meter shows that the battery is 100% charged. But as soon as the power cord is unplugged, the computer immediately shuts off.
What might be the problem? Should I purchase a new battery?

Hi, I dug up my trusty X41 from back in the day, and realized it won't charge. Lenovo replaced the motherboard / harddrive / screen under warranty a couple years ago, and I haven't really used it since. I found it would die when unplugged, so I thought the battery was dead. I purchased a replacement battery, but get the same problem.  I've babied this machine since I purchased it new back in 2007.  I have a T420 from work, so I'm not in a rush to fix my X41 - but it's annoying that it doesn't seem to work properly with all these new parts and so little use. My IT staff is pondering a swtich to HP machines, which I've opposed in the past, but starting to have doubts. I'd appreciate any advice if you've seen similar issues. Thanks for your help!

Answer:X41 Charging Issues? Shuts off when power cable unplugged, doesn't charge battery

hey harveyxiao,it is a high possibility that the metal terminal of the X41 might be damage, therefore even if you're using a new battery; you will still need to have a direct power supply to the unit.curiously enough, when you have the power supply connected and the battery pack inserted, at the windows taskbar at the right hand corner, does it show that it is charging ?

Ever since yesterday I've had this problem, I tried several solutions and none of them worked. Basically the problem is: The laptop only works on battery now. When the battery is at 0% the laptop turns off even if the AC is plugged in. To make matters worse, when the laptop is on I get this message "plugged, not charging". So basically the AC no longer works by itself and only charges the battery when the laptop is off. Here is what I tried so far:- Changing the settings on the Lenovo Energy Mangement tool- Uninstalling the Lenovo Energy Mangement tool - Taking off the battery and AC, pushing the power button for 30 seconds, putting them back in and turning on the laptop.- Starting the laptop on safe mode- Praying to God None of these things worked. Somebody help.

I am working with an Ideapad y550. For a long time now (at least 3 years), I have had the trouble where unplugging the power would shut down the laptop. I tried purchasing a new battery, resetting power schemes, resetting BIOS, holding down the poewr button with the battery unplugged, etc... just about everything I could find in these forums.

Here is the interesting part:
When I hold down the reset or "one key recovery" button, located just above the power button, I am able to unplug the laptop without it shutting down. I can also start the laptop up this way. All works well as long as I hold that tiny little button down.

Is it possible that this is just a hardware conflict that has gotten written into the BIOS as well? I am running XP but remember- the laptop won't even begin to boot up at all (unplugged), unless I am holding down the small button the entire time.

Please help!

I just bought a yoga 2 , and have had it a few days.  I've been loading and transferring files from my other lap top as I have time, and have had it plugged in since I bought it.  Yesterday I unplugged it to carry it with me to another room, and it shut down completely.  It wouldn't turnon at that point.   SO, I plugged it back in.  booted up fine.   I tried this a couple of times with same results, also changed the power settings (balanced, high performance, etc), same results.  Then after several attempts, my wifi card disappeared as well (perhaps due to the abnormal power downs).  It wouldn't show up in device manager. Dear,  Hi. I just bought Lenovo Z510, 6GB Ram, Nvidia 740m, 1 TB Hard Drive.  I noticed when i'm playing or like opening stuffs like browsers and applications it became lag when the charger is unplugged. And then when I plugged in the charger everything became smooth and very good performance. So what could be the problem? I tried making the max performance in battery options right side of the corner below the screen (near the time)Also I tried changing the high performance mode in Energy Manager application. Also I tired changing the Power Option in Inter HD Graphic Control Panel when On Batter = Maximum Performance. And it seems like it doesn't change at all. It still laggy.

Answer:Lenovo Z510 Battery Problem (Plugged in = Smooth, Unplugged = Laggy)

I think overlocking something might work but it is kinda dangerous too. So I guess turning the option conservation out of energy management settings to 60% is the best way.

I'll try and explain this one best i can. User came to me with their Yoga 15 with an issue where it randomly shuts down on battery power, as in completely switches off.  It sometimes displays a message to say the battery cannot be detected, other times just shuts down. The conclusion I've found is that when the bottom panel is off the machine the battery is completely detected in Windows, and the Lenovo Settings app. It runs fine, never cuts off even with lots of IE instances open.As soon as I put the bottom panel back on the battery appears to be disconnected in Windows, and it also shows it not charging. Intermittently it also states the battery power is low or not detected when booting up. Found that there's a battery / system reset button on the underside that may be the cause of the issue. Pressing this button with the underside of the Laptop off resets the machine entirely, I believe it's the battery reset button incase the machine ever gets stuck at any point (as by rights it's a non-removable battery and there's a small pin hole on the case over this button). Works flawlessly without the bottom case in place, as soon as I re-connect it when the unit is on Battery power I loose the battery status in the Lenovo Settings app. The machine will then randomly shut down. Any thoughts on this one, it's the strangest thing. Many thanks all.

Answer:Lenovo Yoga 15 - shuts down on battery

When you put the panel back, is it touching/blocking any wires?
Have you tried to do a factory reset? If everything works fine then, try updating drivers one by one to see if it comes back.

Look at the battery column. You have two option there: maximum battery life and optimized battery health. The optimized battery will charge the battery up 60% only while the other 100%. To check if your battery is defective or not click the i symbol to look at the battery status as shown in the picture below.

Hello! I am new to Lenovo and picked up my 1st laptop yesterday when my HP died. I have always had HP and grew tired of how easy they break & poor battery life, so I wanted to try a different band. I love the computer, the keyboard, track pad & screen are amazing. I bought the ideapad 320-15IAP for about $330 (Including tax) The specs at the store advertised 4.5-5 Hours of battery life, but I have not been able to get a charge better than 2 hours. For someone that uses my laptop at work and on the go, this will not do. Can any one offer up any advice? Does lenovo sell stronger batteries for ideapad that I can replace with this current battery?  My next issue is the Windows 10 update that you are forced to do, I have been trying to install it since 9PM last night, it is now 9PM tonight, a full 24 hours, and it has not fully installed. I have done my fair share of google searches and many people have had these same issues too, but no good solutions outside of deep computer hacking, I don't want to have to do that on a brand new computer. Thanks for any and all help!

Ever since a recent trip I took my Lenovo will not charge. When I tried charging my laptop on the trip I thought it didn't work because the plug outlet was out of position and messed up in the hotel I was staying. But then, when I returned home and tried to charge my laptop it still would not charge. When I plug it in and everything the red light blinks and blinks but no matter how long I leave it there it will not charge. When I  try to turn the laptop on (with the charger) it makes the beeping sound it usually made before when I plug the charger in except it keeps on beeping as if I pulling the charger out and putting it back in every half-a-second. And then, the laptop only starts up for  a few secons before it shuts off again. When I turn the laptop on (without the charger)...well, it just doesn't turn on. I just want to know if the problem is with my charger or the actual battery or something else? Any suggestions?

My Yoga 14 is still under warranty.  It shuts down even when the battery is near full.  I wait for it to totally reboot (takes a while) only to have it shut down again.  Frustrating.  It seems to work best while plugged in, but still, I have problems.  I did upgrade to Windows 10 if this makes a difference.  Where to I start to get this serviced.  Best Buy told me to bring it in for a back up ($99) and then they would send it off, that it sounded like a hard drive issue. Advice please.

Answer:Lenovo Yoga 14 Shuts Down with near full battery

HiIt seems like a hardware issue. I haven't experience something like that on the TP Yoga 14. One option may be calling to you local Lenovo CAS, open a ticket and ask them to repair you computer under Warranty.  If it is under warranty they should not charge you as far as I know. I'm sorry but I don't have the numbers of the US, maybe you can call here:https://support.lenovo.com/us/en/contactus/supportphonelist Regards

Any idea how to fix it ?

Go to Settings> select System> select Battery> and make your adjustments there:
You can also look at drainage usage by app on the same screen or disable all apps from running in the background: https://www.howtogeek.com/241752/how...he-background/

Or, switch your power plan to "power saver" and it will optimize your battery performance automatically:
Hope this helps,

Hello, I'm having problems with my battery removal. As my title shows, I have a Lenovo ideapad 100, and I am supposed to be sending it off for repairs. For my issue, I need to take the battery out because it's not part of the problem; however, I can't get it out. I read on here to take the base off, but when trying to do that, it seems that it's breaking the inner clips keeping it attached. I don't want to keep breaking these off just to pay for them to be repaired later on. Is there a simpler way to take this base off?

I can't use the computer without the charger.I removed the battery drivers but nothing has changed. Please help. Thanks a lot.

Answer:Battery - Lenovo Ideapad U350

Kindly check the settings in Lenovo energy management

1. Click the "Settings" button.

2. Check "Optimize For Battery Runtime" under "Battery Health" and the problem will be resolved.

"Optimize For Battery Runtime" is to protect the battery and extend the lifespan of the battery. Because the lifespan of one battery is related to its charging circle, the power charging will automatically cut off to protect the battery when the power reaches to a certain amount.

If the issue persist then you need to reinstall the Lenovo energy management software.

The battery for my Lenovo ideapad 300 ? 15ISK has shown gradual degeneration and after less than a year it failed completely (battery report at the bottom). I?m deeply disappointed in Lenovo?s response to this. Initially they asked for having it in for repair, which in my case and I assume many others, is completely unacceptable. Being without a PC is extremely difficult and sending it away for a trivial issue like a battery replacement is unacceptable. But that was only the start of it, I checked Lenovo website and could not locate a replacement battery. Hence, I contacted Lenovo by phone but surprisingly I was told that the battery could not be sourced by Lenovo and I was recommended PC world or Amazon, neither have the correct battery in stock as it turned out.A lot of battery suppliers are listed on Google but most of them has very limited description and it seems very easy to end up with the wrong battery. I contacted Lenovo through Twitter asking for some assistance, but after several tweets explaining the issue, Lenovo vent quiet(!). A couple of weeks later I tried again, but with the same abysmal result. So, at the end, I gave up and ordered what hopefully is the right battery. Sadly, after Twitting Lenovo that I gave them up, they came back with the requested information?Lenovo is extremely good at promoting themselves, but be aware the equipment might not be up to scratch and their customer support is certainly not, not on their website, not on the phone, no... Hi, I'm new to the community and I don't know where to put this thread. Please move it to the approriate board if I'm mistaken. So I bought this laptop, Ideapad 110 15-AST yesterday and started to tinker with it a bit (by that I mean customize it to suit my preferences and replace all stock softwares and features with mine) and I noticed something: its battery life. It's shorter than I thought. I thought it would be able to last at least 4~5 hours, but I can only get it to last for about 2~3 hours, that is with display brightness set to lowest and volumes muted, and only Wi-Fi is open (using chrome for browsing). Is this normal, or did I get a unit with defective battery? And how do I know if the laptop is already 100% charged when turned off? I don't want turning it on just to see the percentage if I won't really be using it. Cheers

My battery seems to charge very slowly when connected to AC and when I unplug I lose power in less than 20 minutes and the diagnostic says battery is in "Fair" condition and only charging at 41.38% of its original full charge capacity.  When I called customer service since I am still under warranty, they just said I could send in the laptop for repair which takes about 7 business days or go to a Best Buy for the GeekSquad to repair.  I went to Best Buy, but the Geek Squad said they would have to send it off for 13 days so none of this was helpful as this is my only laptop and I need it daily so to send it off for 7 business days would be difficult.  Are there any other options for repair that reduce the time significantly?  I can't believe Lenovo doesn't offer overnight shipping to expedite the process

Answer:Lenovo Ideapad 110 battery life

Hi igeto,

Welcome to the Community Forums.

As seen from common reviews, battery for the model is not one of the strong points, although should be able to do up to 3 Hours Video Playback. On low setting gameplay, the benchmark was able to perform 1-hour gameplay.

Check if you got the updated BIOS from the support site with updated power management and Lenovo utility.
Perform manual battery gauge calibration by using the machine until 10-20% charge then have it fully charged and restart. Change brightness to maybe 80% (this would help the battery usage) and see how long you would be able to use it for your normal use.

If you have the same problem, call in technical support for their recommendation.

Update us how things go.

The fact that the laptop has an internal battery limits a bit the troubleshooting I can provide.

Are you able to get a hold of another power cable to try completely rule out that it might be the charger?

If not then realistically the only thing I could recommend is to get in touch with support and to arrange a repair.

My Lenovo IdeaPad Z510 shuts down after 30-40 minutes when running on battery, without any notification. The battery level displays 99% battery.I've tried various troubleshooting steps, including gauge reset, charging for 10 hours when shut down, charging couple of times in BIOS mode. Answer:Z510 automatically shuts down at 99% battery, when running on battery

Could your processor be overheating? If it gets too hot there is an auto-shutdown feature to prevent hardware damage. What kind of work are you doing when this happens? HW Monitor and CPU-Z can give you temperature information.

Experiencing regular low bttery warnings with my Lenovo Ideapad 700 - battery status shows battery charge of 70%, then suddenly low battery warning appears, as well as battery icon changes for low battery icon, basically after a second the warnng disappears, as well as battery indicator shows battery charge of 70% again. This occurs randomly quite regularly. What could cause this? Quite annoying, although not a problem otherwise.

So I have looked everywhere for an answer to this and have had no luck. I'm a college student and use my U310 for studying; usually for extended periods of time. My concern is with the battery and charging it. Is it bad to leave it plugged in at 100% while I am using it for several hours to study? I want to make sure I properly take care of this ultrabook and don't destroy the life of the battery. If I could take it out easily, I would. But the casing on this device make it rather difficult to do on a semi-regular basis. So essentially what I would like to know: Is it better to leave it plugged in for several hours (5-7 hours) at 100% charge while I use it for studying, or is it better to unplug once it hits 100% and replug it in as needed? Is one better to do than the other, or is one more damaging than another? I would really appreciate some clarity, thank you!

Answer:Lenovo Ideapad U310 - Battery Concerns

Dear chellein92 Welcome to Lenovo forums There is a software provided from Lenovo called Energy management that controls the battery charging modesBasically there is two modes.the first mode allows the battery to charge up to 80% only while the charger is connected and will start charging when the battery hits 20% charge this modes helps to perverse the battery life the second mode will let the batteryt o charge till 100 % and will keep charging if the battery dropped less than that the program is supposed to be preloaded onto your machine if it is not, please inform me about the OS that you have and i will give you the download link Thanks

Hello I have IdeaPad Y510 and I have some problem with the battery.Today I pressed the power button and the computer didn't start at all.I plug the AC power and press the power button again and the computer started, but when I take the AC power out it shuted down like there is no power or battery. I pluged the AC back and  I checked the batery and it says it's 100% full. The computer recognizes the batery ( gives all the information for the battery ) but the indicators arent flashing at all. Then I restarted the PC, get the battery out for a couple of hours, reinstall hot keys and energy cut, tried to do something from BIOS ( when it says to get the AC power out the PC shuts down ) but nothing helped.I don't know what to try next ?I have Windows XP and the newest BIOS installed.

The Lenovo Settings app for the Lenovo laptops doesn't have an adjustable threshold that I am aware of.  The 60% is preset.

lenovo ideapad y580 battery problem.

Had it for just over a month.

Battery will not charge if I play ANY video game varying from chess, hearts to wow. However if I am browsing the internet it charges just fine.

When I remove the battery and start it up it, everything works including the internet however as soon as I go to start any game it instantly dies due to no power.

Answer:lenovo ideapad P580 battery problem

I thought I should give a little more info When I play ANY game, the charging icon with flash on and off several times and after about 20 seconds the charging icon will go off and never come back, until I quit the game. Really disappointed that I am going to return this product. If it keeps doing this.

Ever since buying this laptop I've had the battery set to "optimize battery health", which keeps the level at 50%. But since last week or so I noticed the level suddenly dropped to about 38%, then 37, 36, etc, a bit everyday. It still says "plugged in and charging", but the icon doesn't have the charging animation, nor does the % go up. I called tech support earlier and he said to unplug the charger, then reinstall the Lenovo power management software. This didn't really solve the problem, in fact all it did was lower the % down to 25% now, because all this time the charger was disconnected running on battery power. I think basically the battery is not really charging even though it says it's charging, or it could be just not calibrated correctly? Anyone know what I should do, besides buy a new battery since that's the last resort? The laptop is roughly 1.5 yrs old, never had this problem until last week. I heard about the battery gauge reset method, but people warn that it could also damage the battery.

Answer:Lenovo Ideapad Y510P battery problem

hi KevinLQ,

Thanks for Posting.

Have the computer boot to the BIOS mode.
Press F2 when you turn on the computer
While in BIOs Mode unplug the AC adapter and let it Drain until it shudown on its own.

This will Drain the Battery from any charge and will count the battery as 0
Now Recharge the battery and check if it will be read by WIndows correctly.

If this shows the same problem, You can have the system Serviced via Warranty.

Hope this helps
Cheers!

I have a Lenovo Z575 IdeaPad that needs to have the battery replace. I've been scouring the Lenovo website for products for the IdeaPad Z575, specifically a battery to replace the one I have, and I haven't been able to find anything. I would really appreciate it if someone could give me some information about which battery I need to replace the one I have and where I can get it if Lenovo doesn't manufacture it anymore. Thanks for your help!

Answer:Lenovo Z575 IdeaPad Replacement Battery

Hello and welcome,

I don't find in the accessories section of the sales site either

Several batteries are listed in the   Lenovo IdeaPad Z475Z575 Hardware Maintenance Manual .  I did a quick Google on one of them and found some at Amazon.  I can't speak to their authenticity.

Since you don't give your location I can't link to an appropriate Amazon page.  Google is your friend.

Hi, guysMy lenovo is great. I love it, it is really fast and works smoothly. BUT.... when it is on battery and the battery level reaches 30%, the CPU automatically goes from 3.2GHz (single core), to 0.8GHz (single core). The Power management is always to High Performance. The only solution is to make my Windows 7 to sleep and then to wake it up. If I plug the AC - it's ok, regardless of the battery - always works fine. Do you have any idea, why that happens and mostly how to fix it??? Thank you! CiNEMAN

dear sir, my name is nikhil in my laptop z510 ideapad i am facing battery problem it is not showing correct battery % and also not show batterey low warning message and it is stable at one position 99% please sir help me out from this problem .many of them his having this same problem please give some battery firmware update so to resolve this problem.it is not a hardware problem because it started from two days before previously it is working fine but now it is not working          I purchased the z510 last  july and while the battery life wasn't great on it now it has stopped working altogether. I have tried every conceivable fix for it from the forums here and none has worked. The problem that I am having is that the battery is stuck at 99% while charging and when it is off charge it will stay on for half an hour and the shut off hard without warning, it has caused me to lose progress in work. The battery gauge reset is no longer working either as it was on for hours and just kept showing 99%. I would appreciate a response back. This seems to be a problem with this make of laptop as far as Ican see.
