I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Answer: Lenovo ideapad 510 start up and stucks on lenovo logo screen

Hi Edgarlee,

Welcome to Lenovo Community!

As per the query we understood that you are facing issue with system stuck at Lenovo logo.

As per your query, please disconnect all the external devices and try to power on the system, try to boot to BIOS and check for the issue.

If you are able to boot to BIOS, try to load the BIOS default setting and check for the issue.

If you are not able to boot to BIOS then please perform a power drain by disconnecting all the external devices connected to the system, also remove the battery and shutdown the machine and press and hold the power button for 30 seconds and now connect adapter and battery and try to power on the system and check for the issue.

Hope this helps! Do post us back for further queries.

Best regards,

Hi,  My ~3 year old ideapad purchased from Newegg seems to have gone south. I have Windows 8.1 installed. Last night I shut it off to bring it to class and when I got to class and tried to boot up, it wouldn't finish starting up, would sit at the logo screen for about 30 seconds before shutting down and starting over. The fans power up like it is going to start. It repeats this loop indefinitely. I tried holding the reset button next to the charger port and still nothing.  Suggestions?  Thanks

My Lenovo U410 stucks at the Lenovo Logo screen with the white dots, after a few minutes the screen goes blank and the same process of stucking at the lenovo logo screen continues. Some time this goes a bit further and stucks at the screen with "Reparing Drive 100% complete". But the laptop never boots with windows 8, it either stucks with lenovo logo or the Reparing Drive screen. Any idea whats going wrong, or any ideas to solve the problem.

Answer:Lenovo U410 Stucks at lenovo screen

Tried to boot with the DVD consisting of windows 8, strangley even if I change the boot order to the CD Drive, The laptop doesn't boot with the CD drive it still tries to boot from the Hard Disk. Also tried selecting to boot from the CD Drive after pressing fn + F12 after powering on the laptop, But strangley the laptop still tries to boot from the hard disk only. Then I have changed the Boot Mode in BIOS to the Legacy mode from the UEFI mode and the boot priority to legacy first. Then the laptop boots from the Cd drive. Why is this, Is it required to set the boot mode to legacy for booting from the external CD drive...?

Hello, I am recently encountering Black Screen issues when my IdeaPad Z400 Laptop is shut down/sleeped for more than an hour. When I open I see only Black screen, Lenovo Logo doesn't show, no Back lights, Power LED is on, USB working , DVD is responding, Hard disk seems to be spinning. I can only power it on after N attempts of pressing the power button on/off. There are also times that the Lenovo Logo is showing but after 2 secs the power goes off. No beeping sound. I did a chkdsk and memtest and everything seems fine.

Hi please help i got my new Lenovo ideapad 110 2 weeks ago and its stuck on a black screen after showing the logo and preparing automatic repair even using the one key recovery i tried changing things in BIOS and didnt work

Answer:Lenovo Ideapad 110 With AMD Radeon R5 stuck on Black screen after showing logo and preparing repair

 Hi there, Eddie                       -

Thank you for writing in to the Lenovo Forum - happy to have you here today.

Automatic Repair usually kicks in if there's a problem loading up the files that's required to start Windows. If the repair was interrupted and the screen just goes into a black screen then there's most likely a hardware component that's malfunctioning.

To check, try to:

Boot into the BIOS by pressing the OneKey Recovery button

  - Link to picture

If successful, set the following settings in the BIOS:

Security Tab:
Secure Boot = Disabled

Boot Tab:
UEFI = Disabled or Legacy
Boot Mode = Legacy
Boot Priority = Legacy First
Exit Tab

OS Optimized Defaults = Other OS or Disabled

When done, press F10 (or Fn+10) to save and exit and try to boot from your Windows CD

If you're successful in booting from the Windows Disc, see Step 1 to Step 2 of this guideon how to proceed in fixing the issue.
If the problem remains, consider re-installing Windows by pressing the OneKey Recovery button and choose System Recovery

  - Link to picture

In an event that the recovery fails, I recommend you contact Lenovo and report the issue as you may need to send the unit for service.

Update us how it goes.

Recently i bought a Lenovo y500 laptop with 12 ram and 16gigs of SSD. It came with Windows 8 by deffault and what i wanted was to install Linux Ubuntu 12.04 alognside with the Windows 8. It didn't work out, because i could only log into linux. When i tried to log in in Widonws it said: "unknown command drivemap      invalid EFI file path, so i used the one key recovery. It loaded Windows but i noticed 2 things:1st. After loading the Lenovo logo the screen turns black without the cursor on it and stays that way for about 17-25 sec. That means that from 20 sec boot time now it is 40+.How could i fix that one?2nd. After creating the backup i divided the 1tb disk into smaller discs and after the rocovery they were the way i left them with all the games and media on them. I thought that the one key recovery would undo the partiton i have made. The 2nd one isnt bugging me out so much but the 20 secs extra boot time do. The changes i have made in bios are disabling secure boot and switching boot mode from UEFI to legacy. After that i switched secure boot to enabled and the boot mode to UEFI as it was in the beginning.

Answer:Lenovo y500 black screen after the lenovo logo slows down boot time

hi psskobraa,

Welcome to the Lenovo Forums.

Regarding your questions:
1. The additional 17-25sec boot time is probably caused by the UEFI Firmware / UEFI boot loader (see this flowchart) - this probably got modified when you installed Ubuntu. Can you try to boot back into the BIOS, press F9 to load default settings then press F10 to save It settings. If this doesn't work, is the boot time the same when Disabling Secure Boot and UEFI set to Disabled/Legacy first?

2. OneKey Recovery usually reimage the OS partition only (i.e. C:\) and will not affect any other partitions (i.e. D:\)

I have a Lenovo 3000 N100 laptop for the past two years.Apart from the famous battery issue with this laptop, I have not had any problems with this unit. Since yesterday, I am getting a black screen after logon to Windows XP.Yesterday, I was able to log on and then the laptop will go black after a minute or two after log on. Today, it has gotten worse, as soon as the Windows XP logo comes on, the screen goes black after a fewseconds. I also noticed that the Lenovo Icon displayed during Power On is also Teal in Color. I tried booting the laptop in Safe mode and the problem still remains.I tried booting the laptop using Windows XP CD and try to repair the Windows XP installation using R optionand still the screen goes black.  Please advice if this is a hardware or software or virus issue.

Answer:Lenovo 3000 N100 - Teal Color Lenovo Icon at Power Up then Windows XP logo then Black Screen

Hi there.  I have the same problem.  My screen is black all the time now with odd spurts of light occuring just after loading. My laptop is sadly out of guarantee so I cannot get any telephone help from IBM, however the chap I spoke to did hint that it was a problem with the LCD cable. Then I phoned my local PC repair man and he said it sounds like the bulb, because I can still faintly see the outline of whats on the screen through the "blackness". So.  Not sure! Have you come to any resolution yet?  Meantime I have my laptop pluggged into an external monitor until I get it fixed.  Susan

Answer:Lenovo g5070 blur screen only after lenovo logo

Hi Abdul,

Welcome to Lenovo Forums.

When using Windows 8.1 on a computer with a display featuring a high number of dots per inch (high-DPI), some desktop applications may appear somewhat blurry as compared to other applications on the screen.

In order to provide an optimal experience on high-DPI displays, desktop applications need to detect the DPI of the display which is in use, and scale their graphical elements, text, and screen layout appropriately. Some applications do not implement this; thus they may not look as sharp.

If there is not an updated DPI-aware version of the application available, you may be able to alter the appearance of the application by using one of the following methods. Note that this may result in less desirable results, depending on the application.

Disable DPI virtualization for the application. To do this, right-click the application?s shortcut and then click Properties. On the Compatibility tab, select "Disable Display Scaling on High DPI Settings", and then click OK. This will cause the text in the application to appear clearer, but if the application does not properly handle high DPI settings, it may have adverse side effects such as truncated text or incorrectly sized graphical elements.

Lower the overall Windows DPI setting. To do this, open the desktop Display control panel (or search for "dpi-scaling" from the Start Screen) and adjust the slider under "Change... Read more

I need help and suggestions on what to do with this black screen crisis. Mine is a little different that others. so sorry if this is a repeated thread. ive looked everywhere, and no one has the issue when they have dual boot.

I have dual boot on my laptop with windows 7 ultimate 32 bit and windows 7 home premium 64 bit. the home premium came pre installed on the laptop and the ultimate version i installed later dual boot (i needed some capabilities that home premium doesn't have).

Problem: I cannot see anything on my screen after windows logo while booting up my laptop bcz of the black screen after the windows logo. When i boot into WINDOWS 7 HOME PREMIUM. i hear windows logon screen notification noise but see nothing! oddly enough even my built in webcam logs me in with VeriFace software with my face, passwordless! ALSO my laptop boots fine with windows 7 ultimate and i can see everything, and it works great! i need the other version to WORK cause my life is in that other version of windows. i cannot factory restore!!!

What i have tried: the keyboard is also unresponsive, bcz i held down a bunch of keys to see if it makes the beep noise. I closed the laptop lid to see if it goes into hibernation and waited 3 mins to see if it still does, so that when i open it i can see everything (it has worked before). nothing. i rebooted a bunch of times even with a second screen attached, tried to guess switch into projector mode with my function key and switch s... Answer:Lenovo Ideapad Y560 "black screen in boot up after windows 7 logo"

Sounds like a corrupted file system, so try running chkdsk.

How to run System File Checker (SFC) or chkdsk from the Recovery ConsoleBoot your Vista or Windows 7 installation DVD
When you see "Press any key to boot from CD or DVD", press Enter
At the "Install Windows" screen, click on Repair your computer at lower left
At the System Recovery Options screen, make note of the drive letter assigned to your boot drive (normally C and click Next
At the Chose a Recovery Tool window, click on Command Prompt. You will be sitting at X:\Sources directory
Run SFC or chkdskIf you did not note the drive letter of your boot disk, you can enter bcdedit and look at the osdevice line to see what it is.
For sfc, type sfc /scannow /offbootdir=c:\ /offwindir=c:\windows and press Enter (use the letter from above)
For chkdsk, type chkdsk c: /r and press Enter (use the letter from above).

Let either run to completion undisturbed.

Answer:Lenovo G50-30 : getting black screen after lenovo logo

Hi zoheb_syed ,

Welcome to the Community Forums.

Doing factory reset would delete everything and repartitioned with new Windows on it just like out of the box .
Lenovo splash screen is a good sign that power goes in the computer and the devices required for a working machine.
For as long as you back up your files , try doing the Lenovo Restore using the Novo key (no.2 page 9).
Just turn off the pc and use the Novo button to turn it on . Novo menu would give the System Recovery

Soon as done , create a local account and proceed.
If it goes to a black screen during the process , I recommend you call in tech support for repair.
Most likely there would be a problem with the GPU since rendering on Windows failed.
You can also check the display on any external monitor to see if the display would work externally to isolate LCD or cable issue .
If the computer finish up with the restoration then run Lenovo diagnostics.

Tech support can give you repair options or if BIOS update is neccessary .
Best check on your warranty for the type of repair service you would expect (either sending to depot or Onsite repair)
Considering the turn around time of the repair , which I know that you need it on a daily basis for work  Try above step and let us see how it works.

Hope this helped you get things done on your issue.

Hi! We bought yesterday a Lenovo B50-30 type notebook. I want install Windows 8.1 on it, but during the setup I was not able to create partition. So I enter to BIOS settings with Fn+F2 If I remember well. In the BIOS I check the settings, then I change SATA settings from AHCI to Compatible then I save changes and exit from BIOS setup. After that notebook froze down when the Lenovo logo screen is up. I can't enter the BIOS setup and the notebook don't boot the operating system disk, I can only see the Lenovo logo. I tried to start the notebook with the one key recovery button, but it doesn't work, the screen doesn't appear when i can choose the BIOS setup menu, only the Lenovo logo appear, then the notebook doesn't do anything.  What should i do? Thanks for your helping. Sorry for the bad english I don't speak it well.

So everything has been working fine on my laptop until about 10:30PM EST tonight. I bought it new in August 2011.
Specs:

OS: Windows 7 Home Premium
CPU: Intel Core i7-2630QM @ 2.00 GHz
RAM: 8 GB
HD: 750 GB
BIOS: 45CN36WW

It's always been a fine machine with NO problems.
However, last night there were Windows 7 updates that were installed and then restarted my computer. I had not gotten a chance to check exactly what they were though. About 10:30 this evening, flash crashed in Mozilla Firefox which is not that uncommon, and from there Firefox closed, and so did my Microsoft Word and Excel apps that were open. From there, my computer began to shut down and restart. When it went to restart, all it could do was go to the opening Lenovo screen which gives you the F2 (setup option) and F12 (multiboot menu option) as it typically does. Besides a thin strip at the top that appeared after about 30 secs that only displays moving static that eventually will just stick, that is where the boot process ends. No Windows 7 screen, and certainly no opportunity to boot into safe mode to check for any problems. The screen freezes and goes nowhere.

So basically, all I'm getting in terms of boot options are lenovo features, not windows 7 features, meaning it won't boot into windows 7 or windows 7 safe mode no matter what I try. The biggest problem here is that I have no windows 7 disc to even try to boot from my dvd drive.

Anybody have any suggestions on what the probl... Read more

I had a virus a few days ago. I tried to delete the virus after downloading a scanner. My laptop rebooted and had a blue screen that gave me options to fix, reset to factory, etc however the keyboard wasn't working so I couldn't put in my password. The only option without the password was to reset totally so I did. After a while another screen popped up saying there was an issue with the resetting. Long story short when I reboot only the lenovo splash comes up, F2 and F12 at the bottom of the screen, and the curser in the top left corner blinks a few times and then disappears. I can't get it to boot for nothing. I am able to plug another keyboard in but now all I get is the black screen and have no options to reset. I've read that the bios is probably the issue but have not clue how to get this set back up. Won't read usb flash. Please help.

Hi, My Lenovo IdeaPad Yoga 13 keeps automatically switching between the desktop and start menu - normally, it seems, when I hit a certain key or key combination (though I have no idea which) or when it's not on a stable surface, like my lap. Quite often, it will switch straight to the search function on the start menu. The screen will also switch between the desktop and the start menu when the screen is pushed back, though this I can deal with.  Otherwise, this function is extremely frustrating while trying to type anything at all. Is there any way to switch it off? Thanks in advance.

Hi Idalevan, Welcome to Lenovo Community!
As per the query we understood that you are facing issue with system hanging on Lenovo logo on your Lenovo B50-30. This kind of issue occurs when the system is not able to detect the HDD drive, If the system is under warranty please get it checked with our authorized service center. If you are willing to check with yourself then you can remove the HDD drive from the system and check if it is passing the Lenovo logo. For guidance on removing the HDD please check the user manual from the below link. http://download.lenovo.com/ibmdl/pub/pc/pccbbs/mobiles_pdf/b40_b50_ug_en.pdf Hope this helps.

Lenovo G570Model 4334 Hi Whenever i switch on my laptop it stays on the Lenovo start up screen for about 30 seconds, and then powers off. During the 30 seconds the laptop fans runs louder than usual but nothing else happens. Ocassionally it does get past that stage but then takes a long time on the 'starting windows' screen. I've used the onekey recovery to return it to my backup and even returned it to the factory settings but the problem persists. I'm unsure of what to next and how the problem can be solved. Any Suggestions? Thanks.

Answer:I have some problem , please help me lenovo g480 always in start up logo

hi depper,

Sorry to hear what happened,

The first thing that will show up on your computer is the Lenovo LOGO,
You said that when you have that page it is as far as it goes and that screen is blinking?

Try Removing the AC adapter and battery,
Hold the power button down for at least 15sec.
Then REconnect just the AC adapter and try turning it on.

You can also try Pressing F12 when you turn on the computer and check if a boot menu will show then select your HDD.

Let me know your findings...
Regards

Hello this is my first post and I hope someone could lend me a hand. I have a Lenovo B series laptop, more specifically a B570. I've had it for over a year and a half now and it was working fine until I started to see some problems. My first encounter was sartup issues. The machine normally laggs whenever Windows boots up to the user screen. I checked for that and the problem was variface login and the fingerprint reader. Seems like they both caused a delay with the boot. Anyways I got pass that by not shutting down but hibernating.  A few months back I decided then to shut down my machine and that was my mistake. It started up and then lagged, I normally corrected this by jus holding the power botton and starting it up till it works. That worked for a while till that moment. I realized when I powered it down, it refused to pass the Lenovo boot screen and whenever I select F2/F8 all I get is "please wait..." and that lasts for hours. I tried replacing the harddrive, formatting it externally NOTHING. I tried troubleshooting such as RAM replacement n all but still no luck. Even removed the RAM and didnt even get a beep or nothing. Lights are on also. I even resored to CMOS battery pull and NOTHING seems to work. I also noticed that when this happens the processor fan stops spinning also. I really need to solve this issue due to me going to university and all.  Please Help! Thanks.

Answer:URGENT HELP! LENOVO B570 wont pass Lenovo Boot Logo.

hi Netflame,

Welcome to the Lenovo Community.

Can you try the following:
1, Remove the AC adapter and Battery then press & hold the power button for 30secs (this drains the power off the unit).
2. Reseat the CPU (see page 62 of the hardware maintenance manual)
3. After reseating CPU (if applicable, re=apply a thermal compound) and reconnect the following:

a. Fan and Heatsink Assembly
b. Systemboard Assembly
c. Memory Module
d. Keyboard Bezel

4. If applicable, use an external USB keyboard to boot into the BIOS, otherwise, reconnect also the Keyboard and try to boot into the BIOS by pressing or holding down F2. You could also try to press F12 to enter BIOS setup.

If you get into the BIOS,  press F9 to set BIOS to default and press F10 to save and exit BIOS. After exiting, power off the computer and reconnect the remaining peripherals.

If the above procedure doesn't work, you probably have a bad CPU, bad GPU, or a bad motherboard and you need to call lenovo or a local repair store to have it serviced.

Caution:
The CPU is extremely sensitive. When you service the CPU, avoid any kind of rough handling.

Edit: added maintenance manual link

Hope this helps.

Answer:Lenovo e49 3464 won't boot after the lenovo logo in black background keeps popping up

Welcome to the forum!

Could you tell us a bit more about the history of events that led up to your problem today?   What Operating system do you have installed on the system?

When was the last time it was working properly, yesterday?   Did you shut it down, or hibernate or sleep?

If you restart now, can you get into BIOS?  If you go into BIOS, can you see your hard disk recognized?

If you try to restart and press F12, can you get a boot device list?  If so, is your hard disk recognized?

Do you have any disks in the optical drive?

If you check the USB ports, are any of them broken with pins bent touching each other?

Hello everyone, I have a problem with my Lenovo G500s  1.1 years (1 year & 1 month). It worked perfectly until last month. It started to freeze. I restarted the computer (btw I was using licenced win8 back then) and then the lenovo logo showed up and it stuck there. I was waiting for about 10 minutes, but nothing happened. I turned it off manually, and then turned it on,it was still frozen. after some trial of startup,  it worked normally. After 2 days it happened again. I thought it was the system, so I deleted the windows8 and installed windows8.1 licensed, it worked for a month and then again (last night) it just freezes at startup (lenovo logo shows up). Till now its frozen. I restarted it several times, it didnt work. I also pulled out battery & started on AC power which didnt work too. Obviously, i dont have warranty. Does anyone knows what could be the possible problem? I dont Know what to do. plz help...Thanks in advance!

Recently my new lenovo y50 started to hang at the logo screen so I updated my drivers and diagnosed the system for errors using lenovo diagnostic tools and all the tests passThe problem still persists as I boot up the system it hangs on the Lenovo logo screen but after forcefully shutting down the system and restarting it the system boots completely finePlease help if someone nows why is this problem is occurring at the first place

Answer:Lenovo y50 hangs at the logo screen

Mine did the same thing under Win10 until I flashed the latest Lenovo BIOS. If that is not it, it could be Windows initializing. Look at the logs to see what's causing it to hang.

I've never had an easy use with this PC eversince I purchased it. It first rejected Windows 7 to be installed due to BIOS incompatibility which I had been warned before. I flashed the new BIOS version shared across the forum that worked for some people, it worked for me too. Then just yesterday when I turned it on, it went into Lenovo logo for few seconds then restarted. It kept repeating the boot loop before I ran the power down to shut it completely. Already ran a system diagnose but found nothing. This already occurred before when I had to perform a windows fresh reinstallation for a constant fix, it runs normally for couple of weeks till yesterday when the problem came back. Any ideas on what to do in this situation ?

Try clearing the CMOS.  That procedure can be useful in correcting some boot up problems.  To clear the CMOS, do this.....

1. Unplug the charger / adapter. 2. Remove the battery. 3. Press and hold the Power Button for 15 seconds. 4. Re-install the battery, plug in the charger / adapter if needed and power up the system to see if the problem was resolved.

The laptop just won't go past the Lenovo logo and stays there for hours. I've tried everything such as holding F2 and messing around with everything there, holding F12 and booting from everything there, using the OneKey Recovery and tried the Sytem Recovery, which gets past the logo but ends as a black screen. It won't start up no matter what I do. I'm hoping someone with a wider knowledge than I could helpme out with this problem. Story is that it began to get very slow after a System Restore (the Disk was constantly at 100%), so I decided to restore it back to before I restored it and I waited 3 hours at the screen where it said it was storing some stuff and registering things. I looked up what to do and one solution was to shut it down and try again. I did that and now it won't start up. Please help solve this.

Hi, my just over a year old laptop will not load. I recently upgraded from Windows 8.1 to Windows 10 and ever since I did i've been having "blue screens of death" errors. There were a couple, but most of the time it was a "watchdog" error that would happen instead of the usual booting up of Windows after being off for a while it would just come up with an message saying it was recovering from an error and then eventually it would load windows and everything would be fine.  But no more. Just got back from being gone for the weekend and the computer no longer loads anything but the Lenovo splash logo. Any ideas on what might be causing this? Is my hard drive or ram fried? Any thing I can do? (I've tried pressing F2, Fn and any other key combinations I can think of. I've been looking online for answers and have yet to find someone with the same issue. Other people seem to be at least able to get into the BIOS, but I can't seem to do that, either.) Thanks in advance!

Better go back to Win 8.1 with your backup image then. The drive isn't bootable or trashed info and cannot continue further. Impossible to trouble shoot from what you've indicated anyway.

I have a g500s which runs with Win7. Last month it got stuck in the logo screen i tried the flee-power process but it did not work so i took it to the service center and they said they have to change the keypad since it was causing the issue, my laptop is still in warranty so i got it changed for free. i could use the laptop without any issue for one week. and the problem starts again and this is really getting annoying. when i press ctrl+alt+del it restarts thats the only thing i can do, and the recovery key doesn't work.i have tried the flee power.

Answer:G500S Stuck in Lenovo Logo Screen

hi lipokjmr,

Welcome to Lenovo Community Forums!

If the system get's stuck in the Lenovo Screen,
It means that a hardware cannot be initialized.

Since the system is still under Warranty I suggest you call Lenovo Technical Support and Report that the problem showed up again, they may look for other Parts that is causing the Issue or it may be a diff Part Failing.

Hope this helps

I have a T450s, bought it one and half years ago. I rarely turn off the laptop, mostly just close the screen. I guess it just goes to sleep.About two weeks ago, I opened the screen, it stuck at the logo screen, sometimes passed the logo screen, but still stuck at a totally blanked black screen. It's been all the same ever since. I'm very busy with work lately, so i've been using my work loptop for everything. Now I want to get this fixed. Does anyone have the same issue that can help me?

Answer:100 15iBD - blank screen after lenovo logo

Hi Daisuke ,

Welcome to the Community Forums.

Would you have the machine number ? Check on the machine number from the sticker or check it from here ,just keep your serial number confidential.

Best way to proceed is to isolate the issue . You can shutdown the PC and unplug the ac adapter , remove the battery (if removable) and press and hold down the power button for 12 seconds to drain remaining power .
Use the Novo button instead to turn on where you expect to see the Novo Menu . Choose BIOS set up and verify if the harddrive is detected . You can F9 to reload defaults and F10 to save and exit.

If the BIOS screen and tabs are working then we are safe to conclude that on the machine level , the laptop is working so that would now lead us to Boot issue either bad windows start up or bad display driver.

Try to connect it to any available external monitor  ( press any FN keys to toggle if needed ex. FN + F10 ).
Any display on the external?  How is pressing ctrl alt del , any changes ? Tap on caps/ num lock ,see if any indicator led going on off too.

Update us how it goes.

Regards

Hello everybody, I currently own a Lenovo Ideapad S10-2 and can`t get it to turn on. I've been having some battery problems in the last month, the battery is basically dead, it has about 30 minutes of life fully charged, so for the last month the laptop has been plugged in every time I have been using it. However, waking up this morning and trying to turn it on, I see that I can`t power it on no matter what I do. No LED light is on even when the laptop is plugged in, I have tried removing the battery, unplugging, pressing the power button for 30-45 seconds and then plugging it back in without the battery, but nothing seems to work. My concern is that this is a motherboard issue, and my big frustration is that my warranty has expired 10 days ago and a repair would cost me as much as the laptop did at the time it was bought.  So I was wondering: 1) Does anyone have any feedback regarding this problem? My guess is that this is a motherboard issue and that it would be rather expensive to fix, but if anyone has any other ideas I would like to hear them.2) I know a friend of mine who has a Lenovo, can't remember the exact type, and last year he had a similar problem (motherboard fried). He contacted international support, his warranty had expired a few months before this incident, and he managed to get the motherboard fixed (I think it was changed with a new one) at no expense, the manufacturer stating the type and series of laptop my friend owned did have ... Hello, I got this laptop a while back,it ran almost flawlessly, but now it seems like it won't start at all. Ok, here's the story, I left home and put it in sleep (I closed the lit) and when I got back home I wanted to use it and when I lifted it up to get it out of sleep/standby mode the keyboard was om but no display was shown. I shut it down by holding to the power mode for a few seconds and then powered it back on, but this time it won't start at all. I pressed buttons randomly and I got the keyboard to light up, but anything else wouldn't start. I'd like to mention that I tried a hard reset(holding to power button for 30 seconds, I opened it up and tried to inter-change the RAM sticks and when I did that I noticed that the bigger fan on the left side is not working. Also when it was powered on, everytime when I plug/unplug the AC power cord it makes a loud beep. Please help me troubleshoot this. Thank you in advance.

Hi.Yesterday i encountered a problem with my laptop.Laptop is brand new and it was working about 2 weeks with no problems. Yesterday my screen goes black. After restarting system i realised that after windows 7 logo screen is not responding at all.I booted system i safe mode and uninstaled Intel Graphic driver. This seems to resolve my problem.- I reinstalled windows and all driver- updated my BIOSStill got this problem. It seems that there is a problem with this driver. Screen is ok so i think it's not the problem with hardware.I checked a lot of versions of graphic driver but they all seems broken for me. itle. when i start the laptop up, if i try to run it via normal mode, it'll show a black screen after the windows logo. the computer is still running. safe mode works completely fine. uninstalling the AMD drivers (for my 5730 Raedon) and going with the generic VGA drivers works fine; this issue only appears when i try and use the AMD drivers. this issue only started today. before, the PC worked flawlessly, no hiccups. i was using it last night, completely fine, and when i started it up today, this issue appeared. i was wondering if anyone had a fix for this, or, a certain driver version that would work? i've used the AMD drivers provided on the lenovo site, those were no bueno. i tried the lastest AMD drivers and again, no good. any help with this issue would be appreciated.

Hi, I have a Lenovo Flex 2 15 Model 20405. Yesterday, I decided to reformat my laptop to Windows 8. On the near end of the installation, it prompted me to restart the computer (it restarted itself after 10 seconds), but after the Lenovo splash screen, I get a blank black screen. I recently came from an Ubuntu OS, not sure if it changed the BIOS settings. I have tried the following instructions bellow. I was successful in rebuilding the BCD, but when I restarted my computer I am still stuck at blank black screen. bcdedit /export C:\BCD_Backup
c:
cd boot
attrib bcd -s -h -r
ren c:\boot\bcd bcd.old
bootrec /RebuildBcd
bootrec /fixmbr
bootrec /fixboot

Remove the Rescue CD and try rebooting now. Other things I have done so far: I've checked the hard drive from BIOS, it's reading it properly.I have tried resetting BIOS to defaults.I changed the boot order priority (HDD first), I tried other boot order as well.I switched between UEFI and Legacy SupportPressed F8 (or FN + F8 ) to bring up Safe Mode, but nothing showed up.I can boot from Windows Installation disk. I tried all troubleshooting options like Refresh and Reset, but I get the message "This option is not available in the OS you selected" - must be because Windows did not finish up during installation so there's nothing to refresh or resetI have tried installing other Windows OS like Windows 7 but still getting the same black blank screen.  The laptop has a built-in battery which... Answer:y510p stuck in lenovo logo loading screen

Do a backup of your personal files. How? You may have to remove the hdd and use it as an auxiliary drive in another unit to copy your personal files in the hdd. Then you have the following option after the backup: 1. Press the NOVO button to initiate system recovery. OR2. Make the usb Recovery flash drive and boot from it and perform a RESET. Here's the link on how to make and use the usb Recovery flash drive. Note: Either 1 or 2 will restore your system to factory default.

Welcome to Lenovo Community Forums!

This might be because the unit is not on AC power when you run the BIOS update.
Try Plugging in the AC Charger and re run the update again,

Hope this helps

What is the diffence between the Lenovo logo screen and the log in screen? I am asking because I am trying to get my new v110 to work on the telly through hdmi and I only get the Lenovo screen then no signal once the laptop gets to the log in screen. I have a long list of everything I have tried and every way I have tried it. There is nothing more I can do. But there has to be a reason why the telly likes the logo screen and not the rest.

So my problem is as the title says.. Well it started when I opened my laptop from sleep mode then it was hanging up and then it suddenly turned blue with sad face.. I didn't read the problem clearly but i remember it saying a problem about "kernel_????_????"..

I tried to hard reset my laptop cause it was taking so much time then it ended up stuck on the logo... Now I'm the one with the blue sad face...

Hope you guys can help me as soon as possible., thanks in advance..

Answer:lenovo flex 15 is stuck on lenovo logo

Right, you mentioned it turned blue with a sad face, that is a Blue Screen of Death (or proper term is Kernel bugcheck) which indicates something has gone wrong.

I have been using this lenovo b570 laptop for a couple of years now and a couple of weeks ago the laptop started to freeze on the lenovo logo. it all started to happen when the blue screen appeared. I tried to get into safe mode but nothing seemed to allow it. I can only enter the Phoenix Secure core Tiano Setup and I set the settings to the default settings and it doesnt seem to do anything :'(I need desperate help please help me! I have no knowledge on computers so this is hard for me!!

Answer:My Lenovo B570 freezes on lenovo logo!!!

hi orange980426,

Welcome to the Forums.

Can you try these steps:
1. Remove all connected peripherals on the machine (e.g., Flashdrive, printers, etc.) then turn off the machine and remove the AC adapter and battery.
2. Hold down the power button for 30secs. When done, reinsert the battery and AC adapter then observe.

If same problem then there's likely a hardware component that's failing inside (e.g., HDD). Consider taking out the HDD and boot the machine and observe if it gets past the lenovo logo. If this works, put the HDD back in and observe.

B570 Hardware Maintenance Manual (see page 47-48 for HDD removal)
Video Disassembly Guide (see FRU removal and Replacement)

If the above steps doesn't work, you may need to contact lenovo or bring the machine to a local repair center for service.

I've recently started experiencing issues with my Ideapad Z500. The warranty has expried, and so i cannot send it off to get repaired. I've replaced the laptop charger, with multiple different ones, all working, and yet it will still not charge. It will not turn on when plugged into the mains. I've attempted to remove the battery, and power through the mains, and yet it will still not power on. I've replaced the internal power jack (one which connects to the motherboard), and yet it will still not charge. There is no visible signs on the motherboard as to scorch marks where it could of shorted out.  From my point of view, everything is as it should be, but the laptop will just not power on at all. Any ideas on what can be done to get this working again?

Sorry to hear about the charging problem.  From what you have described and tried about the only thing left is to replace the motherboard.  The motherboard may have damage that isn't visible and without the proper testing equipment it would be difficult to locate.

Yesterday I did a routine restart and when rebooting my E32 SFF it got hung up on the Lenovo Logo splash display and didn't load windows. The operatiing system is Windows 10 64 bit. Thinking it might be a hard drive problem, I had at the time a 500GB SSD installed which had been cloned from the original 180GB SSD that came with the computer. I swapped the 500GB drive with the original 180GB drive but the problem still persists which leads me to believe it's not a hard drive or Windows issue. Any suggestions would be appreciated. The fans power up and the led indicators as well as the USB ports, so I'm doubting a power supply problem. I have a Windows 10 repair disc but it won't boot on the disc as I believe the bios is set up to boot on the hard drive only. Is this a motherboard problem?

I just bought the Lenovo P400 Touch 14" laptop on Saturday at BestBuy. I bought the i5 version with 6gb of ram. After customizing a few things (installing Google Chrome, wallpaper, and adding a couple of other things), I went to Steam (the online gaming PC service) to download Red Orchestra 2 (as it was free this weekend). I got about half way through the download (5.7gb out of 10.7gb) when the computer got really slow. I was on Chrome on one tab looking at my messages, so I exited out of that and went to pause the download. The program froze and I figured it would pop up with "program not responding" and it did giving me options to close out of the program or wait. So I clicked wait, it still did not respond so I restarted the computer. When it turned on, the Lenovo logo came up as usual but it took a very long time, it then went to a black screen and stayed like that for another really long time. So I tried restarting it a couple of times more, but this time it said: Preparing Automatic Repair, and then the second time it said: Recovering Files, and finally the third time it came up with a blue screen giving me the option to retry the boot-up or proceed to the boot-up settings. I tried the boot-up settings (or whatever it said) and it went straight back to the black screen. I tried waiting it out, and then I tried (as I read on the internet) to go into safemode by hitting F8. None of this worked and I'm pretty frustrated that after a day of use, my brand new, nearly 600 dol... Read more

Answer:P400 Touch Black Screen Bootup after Lenovo Logo

Hi avellone5,

I'm sorry to hear what happened there....

If the system is fairly new without any important Files on it, try reloading Windows.
turn OFF the system and press the Onekey Recovery.
It is the button Beside the AC Adapter jack.

You should have an option to run Recovery.

Note: This may Reset the system to Factory defaults losing all added files.

Hope this helps,
Cheers!

After uninstalling the "boatware" I  started to notice a 1m 30s long black screen in between the Lenovo logo and my Windows login. My charger port broke and when i replaced it, it has broken my laptop, when I turn on my laptop, the lenovo logo screen appears, then it turns off and repeats the process, I have tried it with different RAM, booting from OS iso on a memory stick, disconnecting and reconnecting the CMOS. I was just wondering if there is anything else I can try to get it to work. Thanks.

Hello. I have various issues that need to be address. First of all I have 2 Lenovo P50 laptops. On many occassions during bootup my laptop hangs at the beginning showing the Lenovo logo boot screen. The only way to pass this is to take out all usbs. Is there a work around for this? I changed settings of bootup order in bios to no avail. Secondly after an update at the beginning of May I am unable to use my Ata2020 microphone utilising Asio4all in Cubase. The strange thing it works with only the realtek or the ur12 but all sounds stop when enabling the microphone. In the past maybe 3 weeks ago there were no problems using asio4all. The only way to make it work is using the default full duplex asio driver. I tried to roll back nvidia and sound drivers to no avail, I would like to download and older driver of realtek but do not see it anywhere on the website. Thanks.

Hi, my lenovo ideapad y450 refuses to start. At first the laptop wasn't working at all. It wasn't going on. So my dad opened it up and noticed that a little cable inside that connects to the powercord was disconnected. He fixed it. We let the laptop plugged in all night so it can charge up the battery that had died because it wasn't charging. In the morning we've noticed that the light for the battery says ita fully charged. But when we try to open the laptop with the power button, nothing happens. My dad opens up the laptop again, but finds nothing wrong. After that inspection, the laptop still refuses to open. What can be the problem??

Answer:Lenovo ideapad y450 refuses to start

hi sophdelover,

Welcome to the Forums.

Can you try to:
1. Re-seat the RAM (if you have two RAM sticks, try 1 module first and see if the computer turns ON)
2. Re-seat the FFC connectors and make sure they are firmly connected (see spoiler)
 Spoiler (Highlight to read)
If re-seating the above components doesn't work, you may need to call lenovo for service as there's most likely a problem with a major component of the unit (most likely the CPU or GPU).

Hope this helps

Hello all.  I have a lenovo ideapad z560 with win7 home premium.

Around 1 -2 years back I upgraded it to win 10 home insider preview.

Everything was fine until 5 months before....  it wasn't intercepting internet connection..... after much hassle I called in the technician and the problem solved but not fully..... sometime it would persist then I used internet forums to solve it temporarily.

Last week same internet problem surfaced.....  shoes as connected but no pages loaded in any browser.....

Did a system reset successfully....  then after few minutes it was a blue screen showing that all processes died....

Did a reset again but it said reset failed....

And the system hanged....  I switched it off....  and tried to restart but it shows a black screen after lenovo logo screen.....

Tried hardware unplugging.... draining out power supply.... all f1 -f10 buttons don't work.... no safe mode options available.... one key recovery doesn't work for win 10 .... pressing power button for 30 mins.... etc etc etc....

But the system keeps rebooting every few minutes with blank window after lenovo logo....

Calling technician isn't option cos I can't afford it now....  purchased in Oct 2011....  dunno if it still lies in warranty....

Please help.  Thanks in advance.
