y460p - Critical Boot / Wake Up Issue

Question: y460p - Critical Boot / Wake Up Issue

Hello All, Just received my lenovo ideapad y460p and whenever I shut down the computer, or put the computer in sleep / hibernation mode the only way I can restart it is by removing the battery, unplugging the power cord, inserting the battery and plugging it back in. At first I thought it was a bug with the hibernation function so I disabled it via the command prompt. However the issue continues. I consulted Lenovo support via their instant message chat function but they were unable to diagnose the issue and directed me to the warranty support phone number, suggesting "one key recovery." I assume that means a system restore and hope there is a better solution than resetting the laptop to factory defaults as a first step. Please let me know if there are any suggestions or if anyone else is experiencing this issue. Thanks!Mark

Preferred Solution: y460p - Critical Boot / Wake Up Issue

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Answer: y460p - Critical Boot / Wake Up Issue

One Key Recovery is not system restore.. its reinstalling windows :/ which is not cool if u have loaded some softwares.. well u said its a new laptop.. so do one key and see if it kills the issue.. if not call them again..

Today, I tried SWTOR and played for three or four hours with no problems (adquate framerate, etc.) However, the computer completely turned off after a while. It was plugged in, so the battery did not die. Does the system do this if it overheats? I'm buying a cooling pad soon, but I wanted to make sure that something else wasnt at issue. Thanks

Answer:Y460p Shutdown Issue

hi fischerking1it sounds like your computer shut it down due to overheats.did you get any blue screen?

My original issue which caused me to send my laptop in is fairly benign. At some point, the chassis which holds the laptop charging cable port inside of the laptop failed. It is still able to charge occasionally, but the internal component is loose. It is difficult to charge my laptop without pushing the charger cable perfectly. The laptop is under warranty (purchased in June of 2011) My problem now, is that I sent the laptop in on Monday the 14th. The laptop arrived at the Texas facility on May 16th. Today is the 21st, and now the depot repair status updater reads: May 17, 201211:05 AMYour PC is currently on hold due to a service parts shortage. Please check back periodically for further updates I have called the Lenovo customer support number and have spoken to two different representatives. The first offered little to no information about when the "service part shortage" would be over. The second, gave me a timeframe. He said that I should expect my laptop by July 30th!  So what am I supposed to do now without a computer for the next 2+ months? If I had known it was going to take this long I wouldn't have sent it in in the first place. I really need my computer because I'm in college and I have papers and things due in the next couple of weeks. Is there anything I can do?

Answer:Lenovo y460p Repair issue

I just got off the phone with technical support. I cancelled my work order and had them send my computer back without being repaired. I am hugely dissatisfied with my Lenovo experience. What's the point of having a warranty if it takes the depot longer than 30 days to fix my machine which is covered? It's a complete scam. I am definitely never buying from Lenovo again. If I could get my money back for my computer I would.

Just finished replacing the DC plug on my Y460P. Every time I tried to plug in external power the internal female receptical moved into the case making it impossible to charge. After spending $7 on a complete new plug assembly I ended up having to glue it to the inside of the case to hold it in place when the charger was inserted. Seems a common problem and fix. Anyway, I can once again recharge my battery.

For reasons unknown during the disassembly/reassembly my WiFi card stopped working. I've got the standard issue Intel N-1000. Device manager shows it working properly but when I access the adapter through the network connections I find the on-screen slider in the off position. Clicking the slider moves it to on momentarily only to have it quickly return to off.  The position of the external Wifi switch makes no difference. I've tried booting the machine with the card removed. Checking device manager w/o the card shows (as expected) the card missing but no other errors. Reinstalling the card and rebooting causes the card to reappear in device manager but still showing as off in network connections. Disabling and reenabling makes no difference.

I can buy a new WiFi card for less than $8 but, since the one I've got is showing as working properly, I'm skeptical that a new one would fix the problem. Anyone run across a problem like this?

Hey guys. I really need some help here. My laptop is currently at the technician's side for the third time this year.I guess there's no need for specs here. So, im just gonna explain my situation here. 1st repair, the technician changed the CPU. and tested overnight, calling me the next day to collect my laptop as the issue is fixed. 2nd repair, i waited for around 4-5 weeks for just a BIOS update ( it's rediculous to wait so long so such a small file isn't it.. ), as the technician told me that there was no solution to this freezing issue in my laptop ( around 2-3 week ). Upon collection, technician told me to observe the laptop and see if the issue still persists. 3rd repair ( currently still accessing my laptop ), technicial called me in the afternoon and said that, my laptop successfully passed all the tests that he did to check for faulty parts. * note that before the first repair, i did a one key recovery as i thought it was a virus attack. Anyone has any solution to my problem ? they already took out my 3rd party ram and it's still under testing. argh.

Answer:Ideapad Y460p random freezing issue

Do you happen to know how any of the technissions tested the laptop. My guess is they booted into a different os to test it. The issue could be coming from windows. You might try and do a fresh install of windows.

Question: Y460P won't boot

So, I've been messing with my laptop far too much I'm afraid it's beyond repair but well, here goesI flashed my Y460P with an unlocked bios with normal procedure and everything seems to went wellI didn't have chance to boot to windows after the flash since after reboot I went directly to bios setting (it started up..)Altered a few settings which I can't recall exactly what but I guess they were:- Enable Intel IGD- Setting CPU temp limit to 100I think those are the only things I altered...Then F10, reboot The Y460P has this slidenav thingy on the keyboard that has strings of LEDs that would lit up from left to right on boot,Well, after I power on my laptop, the LED start up normally, then it freezes just like thatScreen has light but blankOnly bluetooth LED lits up, no HDD, WLAN LEDIf I insert a bootable USB, it doesn't get read at all, no flash LED from USBCTRL ALT Del doesn't even reboot So I went a bit crazy and did something moreI opened up the cover and removed the CMOS battery, left it out like 20mins then put it back hoping a CMOS reset would help (well, I did try to power it on while the CMOS battery is off but the result is the same as below)Now it acts very weirdWhen I press the power button, the LEDs lit up for a very short time then off for like 5seconds of no powerThen it would power on again and follow the symptom aboveIf I press the power button again during the 5 secs of no power, it seems to just repeat again I tried all recovery for the BIOS, F... Whenever I use my Y480 on battery alone and the battery drops downt to critical levels my computer wont sleep. It sleeps for a second and then turns back on. In my power settings I have closing the lid set to sleep the computer, but if I close the lid on critical battery it just gets into a sleep-wake cycle until the battery dies completely. I've tried using the keyboard sleep shortcut and the same thing happens, sleep for a second then wakes up again...Any suggestions?

Hello guys. Just a moment ago, I was using my y460p for gaming until it shut down for no apparent reason, or at least O cant figure out why.The caps lock and num lock LED came on, and blinked off when I pressed the power button, only to flash on again.I tried cutting the laptop's power supply off (removing battery and plugging off) but the issue still remained when I plugged it back on (the led on the touchpad came on but disappeared after I pressed the power button, in which the caps lock and num lock led situation resumed)I'm at a lost for what to do, and am not very familiar with a computer's mechanics and wares. The problem still remains as of now. Would appreciate help. Will try to provide as much details to the best of my abilities. Thanks in advance

Answer:Need help. Y460p shuts down, doesnt boot back on

Try removing the Ram sticks and power on and then again put them back in their places. And the computer got shutdown because of a BSOD(blue screen) or just randomly powered off. And lastly i have a gut feeling that it didnt shutdown at the time of playing, only a failute of the GPU or display adapter.

Have a client who needs to run a program that will only run under windows xp (no, xp mode doesn't work either.) Set up windows xp intially, then installed win7. Got win7 squared away then went back in and started installing drivers on xp side and it *seemed form the moment I installed the chipset drivers off Lenovo's website the machine would hang and crawl randomly. Example, when trying to install the ethernet drivers it takes literraly 10 minutes for the installation to finish, it will just hang at certain points when extracting the temporary installation files etc. The windows 7 side is perfect, no issues. I tried to find newer/different intel mobile express/hm65 chipset drivers  and had zero luck, tried intel's website too. Does anyone have any ideas? ps I found a guy with the same problem here: http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_xp-hardware/will-intels-mobile-hm65-chipset..., he is advised to find different drivers from the manuf support page; lenovo afiik doesn't have a different driver available.

Dear Experts I have some problem with my Lenovo y460p laptop - "A Custom Program Settings" window randomly appears when I am working, and strange text appears in a text document, as if a key is held down (though the text editor shows the pipe symbol, rather than a common character). The shift key appears pressed when I check the ON SCREEN keyboard. This happens always and if I hit my keyboard then it will be fine for some time and again happens just like that. I am using an external keyboard now. My laptop is out of warranty period. Please let me know how can this be resolved.  Thanks Pravin

Alright so i dont think im going crazy, and this is something which isin't easy to explain, but basically when i wake my computer up i cant click on my desktop but i can on my task bar or vice versa...

I've found a way to get around it, which is just to ctrl - alt delete and Select Task Manager since im running Windows 8, but this is not always convenient.

FYI: Yes ive tried to Google it. Let me know if yall need any other info.

Thanks,

Val

Answer:After Sys Wake Issue

OK, just a couple of questions about this scenario.

Do you mean that you can click on the taskbar and desktop but they are unresponsive to the clicks, or does your mouse disappear when over one or the other, or something else?

Does this happen after you wake the computer from sleep or hibernate or both?

Does this happen after you boot, or does your computer first have to sleep/hibernate?

Does the strange behavior stop after you summon the Task Manager?

Does the strange behavior occur in Safe Mode?

Have you recently installed any new software or changed system configuration?

Have you scanned your system with any antivirus/antimalware software since this behavior started?

Thanks

Hey. I have an issue with my HP laptop. When I try to wake it up from sleep after Creator's update it always shows this screen and I can do nothing except rebooting the laptop. I tried to go back to AU and updated graphic drivers but nothing helped. Does anybody know what to do with it? Factory reset is my last option. Thank you.

Do a Repair Install (otherwise known as In-place Upgrade Install).
Repair Install allows you to keep your files, settings and apps.
No product key is required.
Activation is automatic.
Go to Media Creation Tool (MCT)http://forums.windowscentral.com/e?l...token=V8BTDCCv
Click the Download Tool Now button and Run it.
Select Create Installation media for another PC
That will start downloading the iso to your computer.
When done, right click at the iso file > click Mount > click Setup (or setup.exe)
Repair Install will begin.

Question: Odd wake issue

I see there are many posts on sleeping /waking issues, and I've browsed more than a few without finding an obvious answer.

After many months of dependable behavior, my system (which runs 24/7) now exhibits aberrant wake issues. On waking from keyboard or mouse all appears normal except the system refuses input. The cursor is mobile, and I can even open a desktop icon with it, but once open the program cannot be interacted with. When I Ctrl-alt-del then click cancel ( i.e. simulating a log-off), everything is fine.

I have gone through the power settings and in fact recently moved from never sleeping to hibernation, but it hasn't changed the (mis)behavior one whit.

For lack of a more obvious culprit - I suspect my M$ Natural 6000 (which is a great design-poorly executed POS) if only because from time to time it displays random quirks after periods of rest.

Any thoughts?

Answer:Odd wake issue

Alas Roger you are not alone. I have yet to understan why some systems develop this issue. I know several that have. Mysteriously my systems have never suffered from this proplem.

I suspect a driver or poorly coded program is the culprit. But everytime I remove or repair anything the problem persist.

In the end I always reinstall.

Hopefully someone has found an answer.

Question: Wake On Lan Issue

I am unable to get Wake On Lan (WOL) to turn on 3 x Lenovo H330 computers in our office when they are turned off (S5 mode). However, I can turn on the computers from standby (S3 mode). We have 2 other Lenovo computers in the office, diffferent models, and I can turn them on from S5 using WOL with no problems.  In the BIOS I can either set Wake On Lan to Disabled or Primary. It is currently set to Primary. I have made sure that network driver has been configure so that WOL is active. I have also updated the network driver  (Intel).  What else can I do to resolve this issue?

Question: Another Wake issue

Ok, I've had this on-going problem but it's never really bothered me until now. I have Vista 64 and built a HTPC for home.

I have a Vantec internal hot-swap drive which seems to be the reason why my PC won't come out of Sleep S3 mode. If I don't have the drive, it wakes up fine, but with it in, it'll display the desktop and I can move the mouse for like 30 seconds, then everything freezes.

Things I've tried
- Updated HD Driver and Rolled back to previous
- Turned off DEP
- in Msconfig, turned off all start-up except for System
- Reformatted the HD (60 gigs)
- Changed between S1/S3

The only thing I've found from the Event Logs is the "Driver Blocked due to Compatibility issues..." but it's for a nVidia Driver, I don't think it's related..

Anyone have idea's?

This may sound like a stupid question, but will Microsoft re-issue the recent critical update ---908531 , as a workable update????.
As is stands now it may require users to reg edit in order to restore their PC'S to working order, and thats not guaranteed ,from what I have read.
I know several people who will not download { HP software} until they are sure it will not screw up their machines. I myself havent downloaded yet, and have been ask the question "should I do it". I don't want to advise either way.
I do remember removing a "buggy" critical from a couple of 98's a long time ago, screwed them up--slow down. They were never re-installed ( kb****711 or something like that }, but that was easy for anybody to do.
To expect users who don't even know what the registry is....to edit so machine works is ridiculas in my opinion. I have no idea of how many people use HP cameras --printers ect, but its lot. I am sure M$ knew in advance what could happen.
This is a great way to encourage users to avoid security updates, already a problem I believe.
At any rate, does anybody know of Microsoft re-issueing a bad update????
Is there history of doing this? or will people just skip it--or have to reg edit with exsisting update??

Now I can not boot to the recovery partition to install from it.

I have dell datasafe recovery DVD but it seems they are not usable. I do not know why.

When I turn on my laptop, it goes to windows 8 recovery option and unable to fix.

My Win 7 Professional machine won't boot today! I was editing a video with Premiere Pro CS5, had a couple of program crashes and decided to reboot. That pretty much ended the day.

Win goes into system repair and says it can't repair the damaged file. The error report says there is a Boot Critical file in \windows\system32\drivers\fs.rec.sys is corrupt.

When I bring up the Repair console, I have no restore points. My OS drive image BU can't be accessed (another external HD problem???), so I need to fix this one.

I have booted from a Kapersky v10 repair disk and scanned the drives for malware, finding nothing.

I have a a ASUS P6X58D-E motherboard, Win 7 Professional x64.

Any thoughts would be most appreciated.

So you guys may remember a few posts I have had regarding opening my laptop, the hinge being broken, etc. etc.  As I have said before as well...my laptop is a Lenovo Ideapad Y510. No I never upgraded the CPU or broke any Lenovo seals...and I also have yet to get my hinge fixed (again.)NEW ISSUE! My laptop (several times daily) will power up and then immediately shut down after the fan turns on high speed for a few seconds. All signs point to an overheating problem...but this will happen even if its ICE COLD. Sooo...I have no clue what is specifically wrong...if the problem is "chronic" or if there are resolutions out there...and I especially have no clue what I'm in for as far as damage reports go since the laptop has been out of warranty for 3 months. Here's a small video of the startup problem:http://s19.photobucket.com/albums/b159/Ishbar/?action=view&current=IMG_0770.flv

Hi, i've recently buy a Lenovo Thinkpad X1 12942PG and since i've begin to use it, the thinkvantage toolbox showed a message about a critical battery problem ("problème critique de batterie" en français) and asked to install an update on this website, i've installed the 2 updates regarding the battery, and it changes anything.

What can i do?
Thanks in advance

Answer:X1 12942PG: Critical battery issue

do a battery reset in the Thinkvantage Manager, if that doesn't fix the issue, then you should call the warranty department, as you would need a new battery. I had a battery replaced due to some issues with the battery.

Quick background: I've been an IT admin for a major university for the past 12 years managing 300+ Windows and Mac user machines. So, this likely isn't your average network connectivity/name resolution/permissions/firewall issue.

I have an important user's Windows 7 Enterprise (32 bit) machine that cannot connect to any windows file shares (Known good ones on multiple servers). At this point I would have normally just wiped the Windows install out and reinstalled but the user apparently has had this issue for many months (Possibly since May) and hadn't noticed. This resulted in his home directory being stuck in an offline state and all of his modifications are "stuck" on this laptop.

To further complicate things, before I knew the extent of the problem, I removed it from our domain and whatever issue is plaguing this windows install also is preventing me from being able to re-add it to the domain. Therefore I cannot login as the user with the cached offline files at the moment.

Here's what works:
-DNS name resolution
-NetBIOS/WINS name resolution
-Pinging the machines with the shared volumes
-Web access

Here's what doesn't work:
-Accessing any file shares. After about 30 seconds the error says "Windows cannot access \\servername\share"
-Accessing local file shares (i.e. \\127.0.0.1\c$ ...\temp, etc.). I get the same error here.
-The network troubleshooter doesn't find any problems.

The above behavior is the same whether conne... Read more

Answer:Critical file sharing issue

Well, couldn't get the file share access thing worked out but I did some experimenting on another Win7 machine and figured out how to get another user's offline files back (Assuming you have admin rights).

Here's what I did:
-Disable offline files
-Navigate to c:\windows\csc
-Take ownership of the directory and all sub directories
-Assign your account full control permissions
-Copy the files you want out of there

This sounds relatively simple but I was very paranoid about messing up the files in the process. Windows XP used to keep offline files in some sort of convaluted/compressed format that was not really usable on its own. Apparently they changed this is Win 7 and that's a good thing.

Badlock Bug

Not really sure the details of the bug but apparently it's fairly big and should be patched Tomorrow.

Guessing this is only really an issue if you have internet facing SMB though, which is already a bad idea.

Answer:Critical security issue in Samba / SMB

It doesn't necessarily have to be internet facing, I had a programmer at a job that found a bug and locked down a folder for HR. Thinking he was doing the right thing. The programmer didn't have Admin access.

One issue was that he made it so we couldn't back up the directory. I found the issue the next Monday when the back up system threw an error over the weekend. While working on trying to fix it I got a request to restore a file from Friday night. Was not able to do that since he broke permissions on the folder.

The second issue he created, the bug made it so I as Administrator could not fix the permissions issue, till the bug fix came out. I also wasn't able to add the new hire that started that day either since he didn't use the HR group, but used individual user accounts.

It was annoying. HR wasn't happy with him or me.

After the PC goes to sleep, upon wake-up everything is slower. Chrome, Windows File Explorer, right clicking on an empty space on the desktop takes like five to ten seconds to yield a window when it should be instantaneous, etc. Weird and difficult to describe; rebooting fixes it, but then I can't let it sleep again or the same thing happens. I have done research about this on the web but none of the posted fixes help. Resolved to live with it and have been for a couple of years (not allowing PC to sleep) but I'd really like to get it worked out. My computer:

ASUS X99-A (the one without native support for USB 3.1, the first revision board)
Core i7 Haswell E 5930K
Asus Strix GeForce GTX 980
Seasonic 860W Platinum modular
32GB Corsair Vengeance DDR4 2400 (4x8)
Samsung Pro M.2 512GB NVMe SSD OS disk

bunch of other drives- 1 more SSD and 2 HDDs in the box, 1 external SSD and two external HDDs plugged into USB 3.0

Dell P2715Q and 2709W displays
APS power conditioning backup battery XS 1300

computer was set up to turn monitors off after about 20 min, then after another 10 min go to sleep. Obviously I have had to change it to never go to sleep because of this issue.

I have a sneaking suspicion it's the ASUS MB software or the BIOS revision that's the problem, even though I have kept up on BIOS & AI Suite updates. I need to go ahead and update again now but wanted to post up about it and ask if anyone else has had this problem and what it was that ended ... Read more

wake on lan had been working all okay. Set up is win7 64, oldish msi neo f p45 motherboard with allow pci and pcie to wake computer selected in the bios and S3 mode. The onboard LAN port connected to my gigabit switch. A spare DISABLED pci realtek gigabit nic card not connected to anything.
Problem, when I take out the spare DISABLED nic wol stops working. I can see power is completely killed to the onboard nic no status lights at all, however with the spare nic in when the machine is put to sleep the onboard nic does stay powered, well status light on amber.
Has anybody seen this behaviour, is it likely a bios issue or a win 7 issue. I updated to the latest bios and no change.

You might need to go into your bios and disable to PCIe slot once your remove the "Disabled NIC"

My Pakard Bell imedia X2414 has developed a wakeup problem for the last one week or so.It switches on unexpectedly for a moment and then switches off. When I switch it on the computer displays the the safe mode option. I choose normal start up and then works fine.I have done so for:1.Removed Wireless usb keyboard and mouse and then disabled in bois.Insted connected PS2.2. Removed memory sticks and reseated these together with power plugs etc.3.Ran Mem test 86 and hdd test.OK.4.Run full scan disk. OK.5. Run sfc which did find corrupted files and successfully fixed.May be due to switching on and off at random.I did find in the cmos setup,"onboard LAN function and usb fuction enabled. There is another entry in the bois PCI/PCI-E/LAN PME to generate a wakeup event.disabled.I removed ethernet cable overnight but no difference.Any idea please?

naAzmul Hello;Allow me to welcome you to the HP forums!I read your post about sleep/wakeup issues and wanted to help. Here are some troubleshooting steps you can try: Sleep and Hibernate Issues (Windows 10, 8) | HP® Customer Support As to the second, just to be clear, you are NOT The Administrator of your PC.  Ever since Win7 came out, MS changed the default class of users such that everyone created after that is a General user with some elevated rights -- NOT the prior System Administrato.  This was to prevent malware from taking over PCs when running (by default) at the System Administrator. To run a command properly in Win8.1, you need to do the following:1) enter "cmd" (without the quotes) in the start area2) when cmd.exe then shows, press Ctrl-Shift-Enter (together) and then click Yes when the UAC box appears If done properly, the command windows will say "Administrator: C:\windows\system32\cmd.exe" in the title area. If it doesn't say "Administrator", you didn't do it right.Good LuckI am a volunteer and I do not work for, nor do I represent, HP.========================================================================If you feel my suggestions helped you, please click the Thumbs-Up symbol to say thanks! If they helped resolve your issue, please click "Accept As Solution" to help others find similar information.

hi,

i've seen (and searched for, and read, and followed) a few other posts on the subject, but as I'm stumped and pretty frustrated, I thought I'd ask in case anyone can help.

my HP Pavilion (Vista Home Pr.) wakes from hibernate, each day, at 6am. i have:

-gone through device manager disabling all devices "wake from sleep"
-checked, checked, and checked again in Task Scheduler to see if anything is scheduled to happen at 6 - it isn't.
-looked in Event Viewer to find the relevant Power Troubleshoot entry, which always says "Wake Source: Unknown" ... see below
-looked at Windows Update, HP Update, Apple Update to see that none are scheduled at this time - they're not.
-checked Disk Defrag, avast Virus Scan, Win Defender to see that none are scheduled to do anything at 6; they're not.
-looked in the bios but failed to find any settings which would make it wake
-spent literally hours looking for info on the web, reading forums, tutorials (yes, including the power one on here) etc
-started to get rather annoyed.

Can anyone help? I am out of ideas. Sometimes I've seen people post "well why not shut down?" and the simple answer is that I don't like waiting 3 minutes for power up, and don't believe it should be impossible to put a computer into hibernate without it waking up!

If there's a log file or anything i can post to help figure out what the problem is, let me know ... otherwise any ideas would be *really* appreciated.

Jez

Answer:*another* wake from Hibernate issue...

Hi Jez,
I wonder if your BIOS has a wake up option? If so you can tell the laptop to wake up at 5:55 everyday and the laptop will power on/boot from being shutdown. Just a thought.

New to tenforums. I work in the forestry field. We utilize Dell tablets running Windows 10 anniversary edition (10.0.14393 N/A Build 14393).These devices are used to collect data in the forest. We are collecting data for 6 to 8 hours at a time. The Dell tablets last this long if we set them to sleep mode in between actual data collection. Therefore, the tablets are constantly being put to sleep and woken from sleep (by pressing the power button). The tablets are set so that a login password is not needed when waking from sleep. But with the new anniversary edition we now have to swipe away the login screen even though a password is not required. You know the one... the one with the pretty photos. This is hugely annoying when you are trying to efficiently enter data. When you are being rained on or eaten by insects these photos, no matter how pretty, are not appreciated. I've tried to turn this "feature" off but no luck. Can anyone help? On a further note... can anyone explain the rationale behind the new login screen? There is a time and place to look at pretty photos and its not while we are working. Thanks in advance.

Hi all,

Good day. I am new to Tenforum and would like to ask for assistace to resolve my issue that I recently encountered.

The story began three days ago when I was using Bluestacks software. At that time my PC fan went loud and I could notice for few seconds high CPU usage. There was no other program runnning at that time. I suddenly ran into the Blue Screen error saying that my device has encountered an issue and must be restarted. I had to restart it per error message, and when I restarted it, the Preparing Automaic repair message has been showing since then. This issue takes me 1 hour just to reach the the Preparing Automatic Repair message at the start up....

so now I can't access my computer anymore...

I am now suspecting that mbr is corupted! not sure thuogh about that....

any idea where to start fixing my PC.

Thanks,

Regards,

I run a very tight ship thanks to you folks and I keep a regular check on my services page to make sure nothing is starting that shouldn't. Consequently, although I don't know what half of them do, I am aware of most of the services I have starting automatically and manually. Today, when I checked, I discovered stuff has been starting manually that hadn't been in the recent past; at least I think this is the case. So my question is: has anything happened with this last critical update (13/12/13) that might cause extra services to start manually without my participation.

Answer:latest Windows critical update issue

A lot of things will cause services to start when in 'manual start' mode - and may have nothing whatever to do with updates.
There is a misapprehension that this setting means that the service will only start when the user requests it - this is not true. It simply means that the service doesn't start until something else triggers it.

Please give examples where the behaviour you believe has changed.

Hey Guys,
I am having an issue here and I will greatly appreciate if anybody here can help me resolve this issue.
My Computer has 2 SSD and one HDD and i was using it just fine for a few months but I always thought that the computer was very slow to be using 2 SSD on Raid 0 so I tried to find out what was the issue.
When researching about the matter I found out that the RAID 0 was using one SSD and the HDD not the 2 SSD that as a result the drives where acting as HDD not as SSD so I went ahead and created a Complete System Image then I Deleted RAID 0 and created a new one now with the correct 2 SSD drives in it.
I booted up and restored the PC from the Image I had and all went well.
Started using my system again and I was loving the speed but after 3 days I started getting this BSOD Critical Process Died and now it happens every 10 minutes after I boot up the PC. Makes my PC useless.
I have searched high and low looking for a solution but nothing seems tio fix it.
I tried deleting the raid again and creating a fresh raid but still same issue.
I tried updating all drives but all are up to date
I tried running sfc/scannow but it fails
I tried doing system restore to an early restore point but that always fail
I tried refreshing the PC but that fails as well.
I have the system set to create minidumps when it crashes but I never get a minidump file created
I am out of ideas and any help you guys can provide will be greatly appreciated.

No dumps so not much to work with.

Have you tried getting rid of the RAID0 setup completely. That seems to me the most likely cause. I doubt you will see much difference in speed since you are booting from a SSD.

Greetings,

Using HP desktop with Windows 10. Latest Fall Creator Update installed.

After the latest update my machine wouldn't wake up after sleep mode. The screen is blank although I can hear "rumbling" in the background as if the hard drive were indeed on but I see nothing. I have to shut down manually and restart. The Power Setting remained on Balanced since I first purchased the computer last year and it always woke up. I tried changing the power options to "put the computer to sleep: Never" and that works. But obviously this is not a solution, just a delay, and I don't want to stay with this "never" option. I have also read that one can turn off Hibernation but again, to my mind, this not a preferable option to the existing problem.

Your help is greatly appreciated.

PS. Oh, and what does "Post a Poll" mean on this web page?

Answer:Sleep/Hibernation wake-up issue

There are many threads on this problem. Start by turning Off Fast Startup (this disables hibernation, by default). Turn On your preferred Sleep settings and test for a couple days. If this fixes it, you can turn off Hibernation in a command prompt (admin) to delete the hiberfil.sys taking up space by typing powercfg -h off then Enter. I know this means Shut Down vs Hibernation to save power but I've had this setting for a long time, as do many others, and no wake issues anymore.

Asus Zenbook ux301LA, i5 Haswell, Intel graphics HD4400, Win 8.1 x64, 2560x1440 display. It came with Win 8, I updated to 8.1

After wake from sleep the scaling is way off, everything is tiny... So I can't use sleep, must do a full shutdown and restart to get back to normal resolution.

Asus does not list any graphics drivers for 8.1, only 8. So I got a generic Intel HD graphics driver update from Intel but it didn't fix the issue.

The other strange thing is that it is time dependent. IOW if I wake it soon after I put it to sleep it restores to the correct resolution state. But if I wait longer it doesn't. I put it to sleep and woke it up multiple times and it seems like the change happens after it has been sleeping for about an hour... although I can't say for sure it is always exactly on that schedule. What could be changing in the system while asleep that would do this???

In a way this isn't a big deal since this thing boots up from full shutdown almost as fast as from sleep. But I had intended to use sleep without a password so I don't have to constantly enter that while home, but keep the password on full start up.

Answer:scaling issue after wake from sleep

OK, I just did a search and see several of my Asus Zenbook brethren and sistren have the same issue. I'll try the power saver solution posted here and see if that solves it for me.

Hi,

I would like the keyboard to wake the pc from sleep, but not the mouse.

Keyboard is a Choppo mini connected via USB.
Mouse is a Microsoft 69J-00002 Wireless mouse via USB dongle

I used an elevated CMD prompt with line powercfg -devicedisablewake "HID-compliant mouse" to try and get the mouse to stop waking the pc from sleep. I was not successful. It is the only mouse listed in device manager.

I forget the command but I checked for all the available devices that can wake the computer in the CMD prompt, but no mouse was shown. Only what seemed to be the keyboard listed more than once.

I also checked all of the devices in device manager under the usb root hub and none are set to wake the computer from sleep.

Any help appreciated, thanks.

Respectfully,
Likuid

Hey Guys, Just recently purchased a Y2P (i7 256gb) less than a week ago. The issue i am currently experiencing is when i wake the laptop from sleep, usually at least 15 mins of sleep, the laptop will come up but then the system is considerably laggy/slow & then becomes completely unresponsive so much to the point that it seems as if it freezes. I am not able to move the mouse (trackpad & usb mouse) & the keyboard buttons do not work/register anymore. Pressing the power button does not put the laptop back to sleep but i can still see everything on the screen from where i left off before closing the lid & the laptop goes into sleep mode. Only way i can recover from this issue is to do a hard reset by holding the power button until the machine powers off & then to boot it back up. Also, i have updated the BIOS & did all the windows updates from a clean install of Windows 8.1 (different from a factory reset) in order to avoid the Superfish vulnerability. All the drivers have been installed as well (confirmed by the Device Manager). Any other people experiencing the same problem & have any potential fix for this issue? Any help on this matter would be much appreciated.

Hi all,

I just finished building my first computer yesterday. Everything seems to be working just great, except when I put my computer in sleep mode and try to wake it up.

Here is my issue: When I put my computer to sleep, it works fine. When I try to wake it up (by pressing power button or hitting key on keyboard), it powers on for a brief second and then shuts down. The only way to get it back on is by pressing the power button again, resetting the pc. I just want to know how to set it up so when i hit a key on my keyboard it will wake up with no issues. Side notes: I have disabled hybrid sleep mode and clicked the box to allow keyboard to wake computer.

Please help. Thank you.

I have a 4 year old T60p type 2007-B49.  This morning when I went to wake it up, it emitted a one long, continuous beep and did nothing on screen.  After a few seconds, I powered down.  I started up, it went to the Windows XP splash screen and gave out a long beep.  Scared, I powered down again. Powered up in Safe Mode, got a bunch of gibberish (safe mode has always been janky on this machine).  Powered down, shook the machine around (see below), powered up in Last Known Good, and it was fine.  I'm working on it now. But I want to figure out what happened.  My suspicious is the fan.  Here's why: 1. I had a fan go out half a year ago ("Fan Error" at startup, no boot).  I replaced it.3. Two months ago, I took the laptop on a trip.  When I got to my hotel, I got a "Fan Error" message.  When I returned home, everything was fine.  Something must've been jostled loose one the outbound trip and jostled back into place on the return trip. However, I did NOT get a "Fan Error" this time, just a continuous beep.  The beep sounded like the beep emitted by my PC when the CPU overheats, also leading me to think it's the fan.  My CPU temps are at 53c right now.  I don't know if that's normal or not for a laptop.  Thanks for your advice in advance

Answer:continuous beep at wake up -- fan issue?

53 degrees idling in a T60p is not considered abnormal. download, tpfancontrol and play with the various fan settings, see whether the fan do anything abnormally.

A new fan/heatsink costs around 70 USD, so it is not that terribly expensive.

I keep getting this message every time I start up my laptop.

I've tried to stop the restarting by pressing f8 and then "disable automatic restart"
I've tried going through cmd > shutdown -a
, going through computer > properties > and then unchecking automatic restart
Still, the problem persists, even in safe mode.

I've also done scans with spybot, malwarebytes, and microsoft security essentials. They detected a few things, but the problem still continues.

Does anyone have a solution, because this one has me stumped.

Answer:Windows has encountered a critical issue system will restart

I've seen other threads with similar problems.

While I may not be able to load the recommended programs, I've managed to run farbar through system recovery options, as another user did. Here are the texts I got through it. The first one was a normal scan, and the second was searching for "services.exe"

Microsoft will Issue a Critical Patch Next Week for Windows 7 IE8

Microsoft is expected to release a security patch to address a Critical vulnerability in IE8. For December, Microsoft is planning to release six new security bulletins that are expected different vulnerabilities in several Windows products. Some of the vulnerabilities are in Windows7, some in Internet Explorer 8, and some in Microsoft Office Products. On the office side the vulnerabilities affect Project, Word, and Worlks 8.5.

Microsoft Security Response Center
There is a range to the bulletins including three that are Critical and three that are considered Important. The Microsoft Security Bulletin Summary for December 2009 outlines these vulnerabilities:
Vulnerabilities in Internet Authentication Service Could Allow Remote Code Execution
Vulnerability in Microsoft Office Project Could Allow Remote Code Execution
Cumulative Security Update for Internet Explore
Vulnerabilities in Active Directory Federation Services Could Allow Remote Code Execution
Vulnerability in Local Security Authority Subsystem Service Could Allow Denial of Service
Vulnerability in WordPad and Office Text Converters Could Allow Remote Code Execution
Proof of Concept for the security flaws was released to the public recently, which prompted Microsoft?s response. I dropped my T530 and started having these issues. Issue 1: Whenever I try to start it with the power cord plugged it does not start. I get till the Windows 7 logo and then the screen goes blank, hard disk activity stops and nothing else happens. I have left it alone for an hour but nothing happens. However if I unplug the power cable then it starts up without any problem. Issue 2: Sometimes the computer goes to sleep and will not wake when I press the power button. I tried all the buttons on the keyboard but nothing happens. In this case I have no option but to hold down the power button and do a reset. Please help me resolve these issues. Thanks.

Hi guys,

I'm currently experiencing a weird problem, which has been coming up with my computer about once every 1-2 months for the past year. What happens is this: the computer will go to sleep, and I'll come back, shake the mouse to wake it. The lights in the case will come on and I'll hear the PC start running, as is normal when I wake it from sleep, but for some reason, the monitors won't wake up, and won't detect an input if they're woken manually by turning their power off then back on.

If I shut down the computer (the only way to do that when this happens is by holding in the power button) and restart, the same thing happens. I won't get anything to the monitor - no startup text, windows logo, etc, which makes me think there's something going on with my graphics card. However, I've had this happen at least 5 times, and every time, it just repairs itself if I leave the PC alone for long enough, starting up as normal when I turn it on after a day or so.

I don't understand why this happens, and I understand even less what causes the problem to go away. I'm afraid that if this keeps happening, the PC might not "repair itself" one of these times. Can anyone help me out?

EDIT:
Well, the computer is working again. I was reading around and think my problem may have been that it wasn't POSTing. How did I fix it? Well, I took out a RAM stick, and pow - booted right up as normal. I shut down, put the RAM bac... Read more

hi,

i have this wake up issue. after checking the event viewer, it said that the cause is the power button. how can i fix it?

thanks in advance.

Answer:How to fix wake up issue caused by power button?

have u tried the methods mentioned in the thread ??

Could you post the event log of System and Application for us to review.

have you tried using the below in the command prompt

powercfg lastwake
this will list the item that woke the system last.

Type the below to see what devices have the property to wake the system
powercfg -devicequery wake_armed

Let us know what you see here

NOTE: if it says power button.... it means you have pressed the power button on the laptop or desktop to wake from sleep.. This is just an log entry in Event Viewer and not an error.

This problem only happens when the computer goes to sleep...when I wake the computer up..it restarts and I get a message saying that there was a BSOD error. The only time this has ever happened was when the computer has went to sleep...other than that..I can play games and run the PC for hours or days without issues.

I uploaded all of the files that the tool provided by the forums was able to generate.

Thanks

I have a problem recently with my Precision. When I put it to sleep, whether it be by closing is or the power button or through windows, when I wake it up the screen stays black. The back light is on, but nothing shows. The hard drive is being hit, everything else seems to work fine, the keyboard back light comes back on, just the screen. I even heard a windows alert upon opening it one time so everything must be going fine in the background but no video output.
I do have a dual boot with Kali Linux  and the issue occurs with that OS too. But it works perfect off a restart as long as I don't put it to sleep, I can use it for 5 minutes or 5 hours and everything is great, just sleep mode gets this result.
It is getting quite annoying at this point, I have tried a few things, re-flashing the Bios, reinstall video drivers, clean install windows (even though it does it with both OS's), and updating chipset drivers, no luck. No discrete GPU right now either, just integrated. Any help would be appreciated.
Here is a video of what is happening.

Recently on my xps 13, I've been unable to wake it up after it has entered sleep mode unless I did a hard reset by holding down the power button. The issue is that after I tried to power it on again, it would just give out 8 beeps until I powered it off.
I have phoned Dell and it seems like an lcd/motherboard issue, however, I have managed to eventually boot it up by plugging it in and powering it on, or by pressing the "d" key during boot up. Right now, it is working perfectly once booted which makes me skeptical of any hardware issue?
Any suggestions? I have reinstalled the BIOS and any recent drivers?

Everything was working great when I first got the latitude 12. But now whenever it goes into sleep mode it hoses the wifi. When I wake it the wifi says there are no networks to connect to. The only way to get it working again is to restart it. Is there any solution to this that doesn't  require a restart? The troubleshooter couldn't fix it and disabling wifi then enabling it again won't either.

Hi All, I have an occassional issue where upon waking my Z830, the screen will go black, the computer restarts, and I get the "Windows did not shut down properly" screen.

It only happens occassionally, but I believe with the following sequence of events:
1. Put computer to sleep by closing the lid
2. Wake computer by opening the lid

Once I restart using the "Start Windows normally" option, all is fine.

Anyone else experiencing this?? I love this laptop, so hate to think it's having any issues already!

Does this happen if access the sleep mode in other way? for example by clicking on Start button and choosing Sleep?
Does this happens with hibernation mode too?

I'm hoping someone has a cure for the following situation. Once my screen saver has kicked in, if a press a key on the keyboard or move the mouse, the PC wakes up to the default W7 screen with my chosen user account icon visible, and if it click on the icon, the desktop becomes visible. Is there a way that when I initially move the mouse or press a key, I can go right to the desktop without the added step of having to click on the icon to make the desktop visible? Thanks in advance!

When i boot up my computer it doesnt reach the user login screen before it loads of startup repair. It looks for a fix but it doesnt find one. In the diagnosis the only error it shows is 'Boot critical file C:\Windows\system32\drivers\vmbus.sys is corrupt'. I have booted kaspersky repair disk and run a full scan which found no viruses or malware etc. From the startup repair window i have tried a system restore which had the same problem when attempting to boot. I can only access the system recovery options screen.

I am running windows 7 32bit, and i dont have a windows 7 disk but do have the windows 7 32bit iso file that i used to install windows 7.

I would be grateful for any help to resolve this issue.

According to this article "Kernel memory leaking' Intel processor design flaw forces Linux, Windows redesign" there's a fundamental design flaw in Intel's processor chips, which can only be fixed by changing the hardware or patching the system. However, patching might lead to a performance loss of 30% (depending on the task and the processor model). My question is: How is Lenovo going to deal with it and is there a way to completely deactivate the Intel Management Engine?, I don't see any option in the Bios (I have a Thinkpad P51, FW: 1.17). I have already the newest IME security patch. PS: I could have also posted this subject in all other sections, since all new Intel x86-64 hardware is affected by it.

Hi

I have a Satellite Pro U300 PSU31E and have problems with the critical bettery level and hibernate ever since I got it

It came supplied with Vista Business

The critical bettery level came set at 2% - the strage thing is if I hit hibernate (either via the power button or by start>hibernate) it hibernated ok - even at 2% battery remaining. However if I leave it to do it automatically (via Windows critical battery level and critical battery action) it just dies whilst hibernating - seems like it ran out of power. The only way I can get it to work automatically via Windows is by setting the critical battery level to 8% (it still dies whilst hibernating on anything less than 8%).

Normally you would just say ok the critical low level needs to be higher but a) why when I hibernate manually at less than 8% does it work perefectly and b) setting it at 8% loses me a good few minutes! and c) more importantly the computer or the battery dont think they're flat at 8% - the problem then is that it allows you to restart it. Then when the computer starts at less than 8% it has already missed its critical shut down point at 8% so just goes down and down with no further battery action until it dies. My XP laptop would shut down at 3% critical then the computer would know the battery is flat and not allow a restart until charged.

Is this a Vista or Toshiba thing?

Probably not the battery as I have 2 with exactly the same problem

I have all latest drivers for power... Read more

Answer:Re: Satellite Pro U300: Vista critical battery hibernate issue

Hi David

In my opinion it?s neither a Vista problem nor Satellite U300 issue.

The point is that the Vista OS needs a lot of hardware resources and more battery power as early Microsoft operating systems.

Fact is that same notebook with preinstalled Win XP would run much longer using the battery power as with Vista OS.
Vista is a monster and it eats all the hardware resources.

This means that if you use the Vista OS, you have to set that critical battery settings to a higher level to ensure that your notebook (Vista OS) would finish hibernate process correctly.

I think the last 2% of battery power are simply not enough to set the notebook into the hibernation mode.

So don't worry, lean back and enjoy your beautiful baby ;)

Then I receive their mail and they ask for screenshots.. Too see I indeed updated drivers..? And other unrelated things. I ask WHY asking these, by mail they just ignore me, at phone they keep repeating we need those things, this is normal. I got a brand new Lenove W520 - 4276-37UI put the thing to sleep put it in my backpack. and it wont wake up. Instead it just cycles through the boot process. My laptop also has random reboots.  I have found many other posts on this with no one solving the problem. They come with ideas of changing the bios, or ram.  The laptop is brand new so I sent it back to the lenovo repair shop, and got the message "Nothing is wrong" with it and sent it back. Lenovo what is wrong? Should I just return the computer?

When did your computer ship? If it was less than 21 days ago, you should consider returning it.  This issue has been outstanding far too long.

After I did a reboot of my laptop, wireless adpater was back in network connections. But wireless network was not connected and I found that Power management tab was missing under device manager tab of wireless adapter. I understood that this is in someway related to S3 issue, but not sure how to get my network back.

You've removed your Linux, but the bootloader remains.

The easiest way is to insert your windows disk, and then either repair the installation, or enter the command line and from the prompt repair the MBR by doing the following:

fixmbr

reboot and you should be good then.

My internet stopped working tonight, so I restarted it. When it restart it went directly to Startup Repair, it wasn't able to automatically fix anything. I've tried restarting it and even removed the hardrive and it does the same thing. I can't get past the startup repair screen. It is more or less shutdown and restart, contact the administrator or your computer provider. The "root cause" seems to be the following:

Boot critical file C:\Windows\System32\Drivers\uolbyzn.sys is corrupt

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. I am running on Vista Home Basic

Answer:Need Help:Boot Critical File C

Hello,

This is very strange. Normally from this position we would insert the Windows CD, boot to the Recovery Console and we would send you a list of commands to copy back the file from your Vista DVD. However, I do not have this file on my working Vista Home Premium, and searching Google comes up with not a single hit. It is a bit strange for a virus, but I suppose it could be. It is not any normal System file, or any normal file of any program. It is not even showing up in manual virus removal websites. Also, have you tried Safe Mode and Last Known Good Configuration?

Pragnesh what media are you using? I am assuming it is an OEM disk. But you could try this http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/219487-clean-reinstall-factory-oem-windows-7-a.html#post1839164 if you want to use the original version you had installed on the machine which by the way is what is the model because your specs show us you have Dell??

You will find he original version on the sticker on the bottom of the machine. Also it would be good to know what PART No it is also on a sticker on the bottom of the machine.

Just make sure if you use this tutorial that you pick only the version it came with or the activation code will cause a lot of grief if not the same see pic.

I made the mistake of downloading a file I was told was required to watch a sports video over the weekend. As a result, when my browser is open a box pops up stating the following:

Critical System Warning!
Your system is probably infected with the latest version of Trojan.Zlob-X.a
Full system optimization will greatly increase your computer's performance and prevent data loss.

Click OK to download antispyware software! (Recommended)

Since the box wouldn't go away, I finally clicked ok and a product called IEDefender was downloaded - it offered a fix, but wanted payment. I noticed an error in the payment popup so I didn't download it. But the issue is persistent. And my Google search page is corrupted as well - any time I try to use it, I get weird links including one for a porn site.

Anway, I found this link on the site (http://forums.techguy.org/malware-removal-hijackthis-logs/650694-solved-spyware-trojan-zlob-x.html) and attempted to follow the instructions. It's exactly the issue I have. I made it to the ComboFix download - when I launched ComboFix, an error message regarding the date of the product promptly shut down the program and removed it from my desktop. I sent a general message to the Tech Support Guy site and the response was I shoudn't try to fix my problem following someone else's fix, which may be unique.

Can someone help me?

Hi,

Hopefully someone who knows more about power management than me can help out!

I bought a Satellite C50D-A-13N a few days ago and it has been fine.
However, I've had an issue with sleep mode a couple of times.

The laptop will go into sleep mode as expected (when the lid is shut or when I press the power button). However, when I press the power button to turn it back on, it comes to life for a few seconds - the screen is on and I can move the mouse and interact with stuff - but then goes straight back into sleep mode again after a few seconds. All I can do to get it to work is to shut it down completely by holding down the power button and restarting, which I REALLY hate doing.

The laptop is fully charged and happy plugged in or unplugged.

Has anyone experienced this issue in Windows 8.1 before?

Thanks,

Julez

Hi,

PC spec - Windows 7 Pro (32-bit) Intel Core 2 Duo, 4GB Ram, 2x 250GB HDD

I think I have succesfully removed a Root Kit virus using Kaspersky TDSS Killler but would just like to make sure no other malware etc remains. I'll explain from the beginning.

1. PC was running fine then Windows start-up repair appeared. In the diagnostic & repair details it spotted an error - Boot Critical File E:\CI.dll is corrupt

2. could not repair, restarted, PC would'nt boot up

2. I searched online and found a thread recommending to use Kaspersky TDSS Killer.

3. the thread advised to boot-up with signature verification disabled (F10) - This worked but before I could use the TDSSKiller, the PC crashed. There was also several Trojans and worms being detected, eg: W32/Blaster.worm by what looked like windows defender, but not sure - having searched google about these, it may be a fake Anti Virus software running. I read W32/Blaster.worm does not affect windows 7? and nothing is being found on scans.

The signature verification option did'nt work after that PC crashed

4 Instead I created a windows recovery CD using a different PC - this allowed me to start the PC into Command Prompt MS DOS.

5 I ran the TDSS Killer Software directly from the a CD - after scan finished it said something about MBR, and use standard boot option, (sorry can't remember exact line) I clicked on yes to use standard.

6 PC restarted again as normal and everything seems to be running fine.

Using Windows 7 64 bit. My computer isn't new, but I've changed RAM to Exceleram several months ago. It was working just fine for the next 2-3 months. A 1.5 month ago my computer just rebooted itself after about 3 mins of work. Then for the next couple of weeks nothing bad happend. But about a week ago when I booted it frozen after about 30 sec of work (Windows loaded normally). I've hard reseted it and it sayed that there is a problem with CMOS memory and suggested to set CMOS settings to default. I've tried to load one more time without doing it and exactly the same happend. Then I've restored CMOS to defaults and problem solved. But a couple of days ago it just frozen again, I've rebooted, but there was nothing said about CMOS. I didn't chane anything and it was working fine for the next 2-3 days. Then today the BSOD appeared after 25 min of work. There were no BSOD's in the previous cases. I'm just uploading a dump file to look at it, but probably won't understand anything. I doubt that someone can help me on that, cause I've already searched through the internet and found pretty much nothing. Except for the other people it mostly happens every day on the first boot, while mine can work fine for several days without this problems. It's too random.
EDIT: ah, sorry, a link that I found said that you can view a dump files on this forum, or I have misunderstand it. Already found a program for that. Says that it was caused by adress ntoskrnl.exe.

I'm trying to deploy image (generic Win7 x64 image) with WDS to T440p. I've added all the drivers to the WDS server, but still bluescreen comes up on first boot after the deployment. Because it's 64-bit, WDS doesn't accept unsigned drivers, so there are maybe 20ish left out. And some of these clearly are boot critical, but which ones? I know that I can sign drivers by myself, but it would take lot of time to sign about 20 drivers.

Answer:T440 boot critical drivers

Where are you getting the drivers?
If you aren't starting with our SCCM driver pack for T440p Win7/64-bit, I recommend you start there.
I've personally tested WDS deployment with these drivers, and there isn't any BSOD problem.

While I did this my Charter Security Suit found a Trojan Horse and quarantined it. I then downloaded the SUPERAntispyware and preceded to do a complete scan as directed. I have the Log on this which will be attached. Next I down loaded the Malwarebytes Anti-Malware this log will be attached as well. My java was already the newest one so I did not have to down load. Finally I down loaded the HijackThis.exe ran the scan and the log will be posted her as well.
