Can you uninstall the Intel HD Graphics drivers from Y560?

Question: Can you uninstall the Intel HD Graphics drivers from Y560?

I know, most of you are probably tired of reading about the issue with CCC 10.8. But, I'm not here to talk about that so bare with me. Since I never really have a legitimate use for the switchable graphics feature on my laptop, mostly because I am gaming and watching HD videos, there really is no need for me to use Intel HD graphics. So I was wondering, if I was to uninstall the onboard graphics using Safe Mode, then try updating my Radeon HD 5730 from the AMD website, would it cause any system instability? I am aware that this is a considerably new system so every trick on the book hasn't been tried yet. But before I try this, I've already created a system restore point to this very moment so if anything goes horribly wrong (e.g. BSOD) I can revert it. All I need is the unbiased advice of a somewhat 'experienced' person to give me a green and/or yellow light for this little experiment. System specs are; 15.6" IdeaPad Y560Intel Core i5-450mATI Mobility Radeon HD 5730 with Intel HD Integrated Graphics4GB of DDR3 RAMWindows 7 Home Premium 64-bit

Preferred Solution: Can you uninstall the Intel HD Graphics drivers from Y560?

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Answer: Can you uninstall the Intel HD Graphics drivers from Y560?

I don't know the answer, but I do know I would not trust a restore pointto get it all back if there is a problem. Got a external hard drive? Make a system image and recovery diskin Win 7, Backup and Restore. Works great for fooling around! Just my opinion.

I have a query about the ATI drivers for the Y560. I've got a mobile Radeon 5730, and i'm fairly sure i do NOT have switchable graphics (nothing about it in the bios or anywhere as far as i can tell, i'd probably be able to tell if i did). Currently running the driver version 8.702.5.0 (from device manager). Suffice to say, i'm running the stock driver that came with the laptop. I was wondering what the recommended drivers are to update. Whether i need to update them via Lenovo's own driver site, or whether i should go to ATI's site and grab the latest and greatest Catalyst drivers from here-http://support.amd.com/us/gpudownload/windows/Pages/radeonmob_win7-64.aspx I want to have them install as perfectly as possible. I was also wondering what important steps i should take to keep the installation process as perfect and glitch free as possible (including avoiding blue screen errors). I've only read the thread about switchable graphics drivers and instructions for it, so i'm assuming the process i should follow will be considerably different. I'm a bit paranoid about all this. Mostly because i tried this already once when i first got my Y560 and got this issue here happen-http://forums.lenovo.com/t5/IdeaPad-Y-U-B-V-and-Z-series/Ideapad-Y560-Driver-Update-Bluescreen/td-p/...http://forums.amd.com/game/messageview.cfm?catid=260&threadid=141162 I guess the real question is whether updating the driver is worth it. This is a long standing question. Which drivers should I use? I have graphical issues with the current Drivers from Dell.
Any ideas what are the advantages of Dell's drivers over the ones from Intel/NVIDIA web site and do the even work? What will I lose if I use the latter?

Answer:Inspiron 7567 which drivers? Dell drivers or Intel/NVIDIA graphics drivers?

Dell drivers are Intel/Nvidia drivers that are customized for your exact model and should be used. They are available at Dell Support if you have to reinstall.

My 2+ year old ASUS laptop G771JM originally came w NVidia Graphics but when MSoft installed Win10
and subsequent upgrades to 1703 and 1709, the Intel HD Graphics have been installed. They work fine, at least to my eyes; this is a gaming computer but I don't do computer games at all. NVidia asks multi-times
a week to re-install their package, and I don't want it. Is it safe to uninstall the two NVidia programs listed
in Control Panel/Programs and is there a preferred sequence? Appreciate any input on this issue.

Greetings,

I'm working on a desktop where any AMD video card will not respond after the standard 20 minute timeout to cut video; the whole machine freezes. It doesn't happen with nVidia cards (at least with a 550ti), so from what I could tell, making sure that all Catalyst-related files were removed from the machine was a good call.

I ran the AMD Catalyst Clean Uninstall Utility, and found that it nuked Intel's USB drivers from the machine. It's an AsRock Z87 Pro3. I hooked up a serial mouse, and, using the on-screen keyboard, I downloaded/installed the chipset drivers from AsRock's web site (no joy), then the latest version from Intel, also with no change.

At this point, I'm running sfc /scannow, and if it would help, I will upload the logs.

This machine's specs:
AsRock Z87 Pro3
Intel i5-4670K
8GB RAM
1TB HDD
AMD Radeon HD7950 3GB (Also tried with Radeon HD7870)
Win7 Enterprise SP1 64-bit

Question 1: Is this most easily fixed with a repair install?
Question 2: Will a sysprep (generalized) fix it?

I have a genuine product key, so either of the above are possibilities at least from an activation perspective.

EDIT/UPDATE: sfc /scannow found no integrity violations.

Answer:Catalyst Clean Uninstall Utility nuked Intel USB drivers

My own approach to uninstalling AMD drivers in order to install a newer version is to use Driver Fusion (formerly named Driver Sweeper).

There is a free version, but at its low price I use the "premium" version. It understands drivers.

Never had a problem with it uninstalling anything other than the exact AMD driver package (including Registry entries, etc.) I was trying to remove.
As far as finding drivers for the Intel USB components you saw got unintentionally removed with the AMD clean uninstall you ran, is the problem now that you can't get proper new versions of the deleted drivers reinstalled?

Do you have a "system restore points" you can restore from before you did the AMD uninstall? This should restore the working system at that point.

Do you have any complete "system image" backups you can recover from?

If you're just looking for help finding the Intel USB drivers for the machine, can you post a screenshot of Device Manager -> Properties for the "other devices" needing drivers, Details tab, and post the Hardware ID (second item in the Property dropdown list).

What's the state of graphics cards drivers these days? Is it still recommended to uninstall existing drivers before updating? I'm having a NVIDIA GT 240 installed. Background: Since last update of Photoshop CC, it is occasionally crashing, something I have NEVER experienced with PS before. Uninstalling plugins and updating video driver is what I can think of to help this situation.

Graphics drivers - uninstall before install?Click to expand...

I think that's a good idea. My procedure is usually:

1. Have the new package downloaded and ready.

2. Uninstall the present driver.

3. Reboot the machine.

4. Install the new driver package.

5. Reboot the machine again.

Might be overkill, but I like the double restarts to get Windows and the graphics software in sync.

I have now put this hard drive on my other computer as a slave and wondered if there was a way of repairing or deleting the drivers/files and how I can reboot the new system to reinstall them?

Hi,

I recently installed the forceware 163.75 drivers from the nvidia website but now i cant uninstall them! no matter which way i do it, if its in add/remove programs or device manager it just crashes on the uninstall. if i go into the device manager it locks as soon as i click yes on the 'are you sure you want to uninstall these drivers' box. This even happens in safe mode. I also cant uninstall ntune as it says that I need an nvidia NFORCE 2 or 3 motherboard to operate and I have an NFORCE 6 mobo! any suggestions?

I dont know if its related but if i use the volume keys on my keyboard to increase/decrease/mute or play/pause audio or video it completely locks all keyboard and mouse functions apart from mouse movement, ctrl+alt+delete and the windows key but i cant click on anythin or press enter. The computer itself carries on working.

Its for a i3 540

I go to the intel website and i run the scan for new driver updates and it gives me a a download. However when i tried to run this download it gave my monitor black screens halfway through the installation.

I did this twice so obviously the download doesn't seem to be compatible with my graphics.

The current drivers i have are from 10/13/11 so they are kind of outdated

If i can't get them from the intel site or my pc manufacturer site where else can i find them?

I think i found some for intel hd 4000 but i am not sure those are for mine

Hello, laptop specs - Acer Aspire One AOD270. I'd like to use sandboxie as i need to use java (oracle).

i recently tried loading sandboxie with firefox and got the BSOD. Bluescreenview showed that the following was the the cause;

''caused by driver'' igdkmd32.sys ''file description'' Intel (R) WDDM Kernel mode driver ''product name''Intel Graphics Accelerator Drivers forWindows 7(R)

igdkmd32.sysis is a file of the INTEL GRAPHICS MEDIA ACCELERATOR 3600 SERIES, 8.14.8.1064 , driver on my laptop.

On the Acer laptop driver support site there a two VGA updates available , 8.14.8.1065 and 8.14.8.1075.

I've never updated drivers before so hoping for some guidance as no forum has been able to help me as yet and seing as my warranty has expired Acer is not much help.

eg,which one should i choose, do i need to delete the old one before installing the new, and what is the procedure for updating ?

I've asked on other forums but as yet i've found no guidance, so any help much appreciated.

Thanks

Answer:Intel Graphics Accelerator Drivers

removing the old drivers prior to doing an update is of course the best way to go, though isn't required but problems could occur installing over the top of old drivers.

hope doing the update will resolve the issue.

Hello,

My laptop has Windows Vista Home Premium (64-bit) on a partition and I am having trouble finding drivers for my graphics card, which is an Intel HD Graphics 4000 model. I have tried my manufacturer's website, Intel's drivers, and all of them don't work. They end up with an error like 'This operating system is not supported.' Also, when I contact support, all they say is to upgrade to Windows 7. When I did get a driver to install, it messed up my screen, so I had to revert to the VGA Graphics Adapter again. If someone could help me find some drivers that were made for Vista or were for Windows 7 but were released quite a long time ago, that would be awesome.

Thanks,
Matthew

So I recently Purchased my first laptop. I went with lenovo. Good company and hardware for a great price. Now heres where I have a problem. I went to update my Intel HD 4000 drivers since the ones that came with the laptop are about a year old (two months away from that now) and I recieve a message saying that I have to use the manufacturers drivers. So I think myself ok. Ill go on Lenovo support and get them there. BUT...The newest drivers online at lenovo support are the same ones preinstalled on my laptop???? So is lenovo going to release an update of intel intergrated graphics drivers since the preformance increase has been huge in the last few months? or Is there a way to get around the lenovo software so i can install my own intel drivers? or Am I going to have to wipe my hard drive clean and install my own OS?

I've been trying several different versions of Intel graphics drivers (HD 4000) to fix the BSODs, but keep getting them. I got one during a heavy CPU load (x264 encoding) a couple days ago on the latest Windows 8.1 driver from Intel's site. After a while of looking up drivers I downgraded to a Windows 8 driver (3165), but then got one just now while trying to put my laptop to sleep. I could only upload the info for the most recent one, because before that I had my pagefile disabled.

Thanks

edit: Also, ever since the bsod related to video encoding, I monitor my CPU temps with RealTemp and keep my laptop propped up with a fan underneath.

Answer:BSODs from Intel graphics drivers

Most laptop video (currently) has dual video cards.
As such, it requires that the OEM carefully match and customize the drivers for each card and the drivers for making them work nicely together.

Using the stock Intel drivers may not be the best solution here. On my Samsung 780 series laptop I have graphics issues when using the Intel-provided graphics drivers and the AMD provided graphics drivers (and have seen the same on systems with nVidia graphics). Cleaning these drivers off and installing the Samsung provided drivers fixes these problems for me - I would suggest the same for you.

There is only 1 memory dump in the uploaded reports. If you're using a disk cleaning program, please stop while we're troubleshooting.

Only 51 Windows Updates installed. Most systems have 60 or more. Please visit Windows Update and get ALL available updates (it may take several trips to get them all).
Don't worry about the specific number, it's just important that you have checked and installed any updates that were available.

Please note the drivers below that date from before the release of Windows 8.1 (17 Oct 2013) - check to see that each and every one is compatible w/Windows 8.1 (at the manufacturer's website). If not, you must either remove the device and it's software - or locate a Windows 8.1 compatible update on the web. Removing some drivers may make the system unstable - so if you're unable to find updates, post back for info on the one's that can/cannot be safely removed... Read more

This has been going on for like a month. I get weird graphical issues in most of my games (FPSes, RTS games, flight sims, everything)

A lot of times there's these weird lines coming out of objects... like for example I was just playing Chronicles of Riddick and there was what looked like a tree trunk coming out a guy's head (same color but a thick "line" coming out). This kind of thing happens in SEVERAL of my FPSes.

A lot of flickering too in some games and general messing up of textures.

What's going on here?

Here's an example. Sorry it's kinda dark but you can see on the right side the weirdness:

Another example (the line coming out of the ground next to that guy in the middle):

Occasionally the games will totally spaz out where the screen just becomes a bunch of triangular textures all mashed together, really weird (But a lot of times it's only if I look certain spots... if I turn it'll sometimes go away)

My friend suggested my drivers were corrupted so I got Driver Cleaner but since I'm using modded drivers, Z-Tweaked v158.19 for XP32 (http://forums.thezproject.org/index.php?showtopic=1762) I don't know how to uninstall them with DC (since it's not under an "official" list.

Any help would be great.

Also is there anything else that could be causing this problem? And what drivers SHOULD I get? I have a Geforce 7900 GS)

"Intel has a series of ‘pre-production’ drivers for its graphics chipsets in Windows 7. It’s a clear attempt to avoid the incompatibility problems which plagues Vista.

Though the next edition of Windows isn’t even at beta stage yet, Intel has announced:

Intel is making available for testing its preproduction WDDM1.1 graphics driver, enabling the full Windows 7 experience. The driver is the result of an ongoing collaboration with Microsoft to provide OEMs and developers with drivers that deliver all of the required WDDM1.1 features for Windows 7. As a result of the collaboration, OEMs and beta users can stay in step with Windows 7 prereleases for smooth product development.

To explain the jargon, drivers are the link between hardware and Windows, while WDDM is Windows’ Display Driver Model, the overall system for graphics drivers that was introduced in Vista and continued in Windows 7.

OEMs are Original Equipment Manufacturers: in other words, firms which make computer parts (or entire machines) that are then usually sold on by other manufacturers.

In short, the announcement means Intel is taking serious steps to make sure its chips work properly in Windows 7. If there are any problems, it wants plenty of time to sort them out before the official release.

The announcement is also a sign that Microsoft promises to do a better job of working with hardware firms to ensure driver compatibility are being followed through. Many manufactur... Read more

Hi,Intel recommends to use vendor drivers, if available. I have a T450 (Win7 x64) with Intel HD Graphics 5500. The latest drivers available from Lenovo is ver. 10.18.14.4206 (April 2015), but I have problems with some 3D games. Is it advisable to install more recent drivers obtained directly from Intel? And what version exactly? Because there are many available:https://downloadcenter.intel.com/search?keyword=intel+graphics+driver Thank you,/_urka

Answer:Installing graphics drivers obtained from Intel

Be advised that the Intel installer for graphics will probably fail because it will detect an OEM installation.  --If, of course, your Windows is the Lenovo image that the laptop came with.  In order to install an update, download the zip version of the driver you want and then use Device Manager>Update Driver, and point to the folder where you unzipped the files.  Searching Intel  for "Intel HD Graphics 5500" gives the same page you linked.  The top driver looks to be the most current.  Edit:  As always with Intel drivers, set a restore point first.

Hi!  I'm trying to run Mudbox in my ThinkPad Edge E531 laptop, but it says I need to update the Intel drivers. The current version for the Intel HD Graphics 4000 is 15.33.43.4425 but I am denied updating that driver because it tells me I have a manufacturing driver installed.  However, when I go to the drivers here I am only offered the 9.17.10.2843 version from 2013. Any chance I could get an updated package for Windows 7 64-bit?

Answer:Need updated graphics for Intel HD 4000 drivers

Hi friend,

Welcome to Lenovo Community! And happy to have you here.

As I understand that you are looking for the updated Display driver for Intel HD 4000
You can update the driver by using this link either from Device Manager using the zip file or else completely uninstall the Display drivers first and then try to install the latest drivers from Intel website

I hope the above information helped you.
And feel free to post in Lenovo Community Forums if you have any further queries!
 Cheers,

I let windows update upgrade my graphics drivers to pre 1.1 wddm version, after I rebooted basically I lost my terminal font (which some apps use).

Is this pure coincidence (known windows 7 issue) or could it be graphics driver related?

Answer:new intel graphics drivers on windows update

Donno on that one. I do know that it wasn't up to par because of a different issue and I had to roll mine back.

I run dxdiag and check in with other methods and my graphics card is Mobile Intel 965 Express Chipset Family, specifically GM965. I have version 6.14.10.4885. The latest according to intel is 6.14.10.5009, but when I download the installer and run it, after extracting, it says that the install is not validated for my computer. I downloaded this installer:

Is there a driver for Intel HD Graphics 3000 for Win7 x64 that doesn't include questionable services like HECI, ICCS, etc.?
You can't opt-out from within the GUI. Is is possible to modify the Intel Graphics driver? I couldn't find a tutorial.

Here is what I tested so far:

I have HP Pavilion 15-p153nm and i have a problem with Intel HD graphics driver. Default "generic" driver that comes with Windows 10 has low graphics performance and backlight can not be controlled. Windows update installs new driver but it has black screen problem on startup if brightness is 100%. Also, it has BSOD if i put laptop to sleep. I went to HP support webpage and downloaded 2 available different driver versions for Intel HD graphics. None of them can be installed, it says that this computer does not meet minimum requirements for installing this software. I tried installing Windows 8.1 but same thing happens. There is wrong driver on HP support webpage. I extracted setup file and opened inf file, there is no reference to my laptop intel graphics hardware id. Just a heads up for people looking to get a little more performance from the Intel on CPU graphics... I noticed that Lenovo has updated the Intel graphics drivers to version 8.15.10.2418: http://download.lenovo.com/lenovo/content/ddfm/MIGR-77280.html My i5 X220 Win 7 x64 machine had 8.15.10.2342 installed, and I decided to go ahead and install the recent update. After installing this and rebooting, I re-ran the Windows Experience Index assessment and noticed that the Graphics subscore has moved to 6.3 from the prior 5.9. The Gaming graphics subscore remains the same as before at 6.3. I haven't noticed any day to day difference yet, but perhaps others will. Note that this update isn't showing up in Lenovo System Update (at least not for me anyway). But you can manually download and install from the link above.

Answer:Intel graphics drivers performance improvement

Well it did quite the opposite to me. My graphics score move to 4.2 from 4.7 and gaming graphics move to 5.7 from 6.1.How on earth did you have that high scores for graphics to even begin with? Mine is X220 i5 also.

Answer:Y50-70 Intel Graphics drivers keep crashing on windows 10.

Hi,I have this problem too. Is a problem common to a huge number of people.Lenovo must do something. The pc is good but I can't stand horizontal lines flash on the screen. I think the problem is not only with Intel card but also with Nvidia and Windows 10. Please Lenovo do something, update all the drivers to a stable version. Moreover, I update all the drivers from the lenovo site, and also the BIOS, that is recently released. But after the startthe system don't let me use the button start and also the icon of the wifi, battery,... dissapeared. This problem is resolved (on its own)  but it indicates that the system isn't so stable. So there is the necessity of Lenovo support.

Hello, On June 17 2016, Intel released new graphics driver updates (build 15.40.25.4463) for 6th, 5th, and 4th Generation Intel Core processors. So my question is what is the easiest and safest way to downgrade them back so this game can work? Thanks in advance.

Hello, I have a HP DV6-6173cl laptop. Recently, I installed Windows 8 after I swapped to a new hard drive, and I need to reinstall my graphics drivers. My laptop has both Intel HD 3000 and Radeon HD graphics. The graphics drivers were found pretty quickly, for AMD and Intel both bad updated their graphics drivers to support Windows 8.However, when I try to install the Radeon HD drivers, everything such as Catalyst control center installs perfectly fine, but the graphics driver always fails to install. The log says:Driver Install: the specified driver package was not installed for matching devices Also, when I try to install the Intel graphics drivers, the installer tells me either one of these:The setup program failed to install one or more device drivers.Setup will exit. This computer does not meet the minimum requirements for installing the software.I also tried to update the drivers through device manager, but the Catalyst Control Center that I installed tells me that the graphics driver needs to be updated. What can I do to fix this problem and install the drivers?

Hello guys,

Recently my laptop (Asus X550L, Windows 10) was getting an annoying error on my Intel graphics. It will hang up a bit then display a prompt that my "graphic stopped working and was recovered." It happens when I'm playing some videos on Youtube or playing games. I also notice that the applications I setup to run on my GT840m won't run on it, instead, it will use the onboard graphics.

Below are the things I tried:
1. Update my intel driver using windows update. After download and installation, on the end, it says, "illegal operation attempted on a registry key marked for deletion". Also tried downloading driver on their website but it also fails to install.
2. Removed the driver then tried to re-install it using windows update and downloaded driver. Same happens above. But now the working graphics is my discrete (GT 840M).
3. I also tried to update/re-install the driver on Safe Mode, same result.
4. Tried to look some answers regarding the error on no. 1 in connection with driver installations but I did not find anything on the internet.

Here are my basic laptop specs:
Intel i7-4500u
Intel Graphics Display 4400
Nvidia GeForce 840M
8Gb Ram

I'm out of ideas so I'm hoping that anyone can help me here. Thanks!

If your computer has an "on-board" Intel display adapter and uses the Intel Extreme Graphics 2 drivers, version 14.2(6.14.10.3792) was released today to replace version 14.1(6.14.10.3762).

After installing the new version and rebooting, my HP N5495 laptop with Windows XP refused to go beyond a black screen. I went into safe mode and reinstalled it, then rebooted again, but still no luck. I went into safe mode a second time and attempted to roll back to the old version, but the rollback function did not work. I went into safe mode a third time and installed the old version(which I always save), then rebooted. Everything returned to normal.

This post is just to warn everyone of what I went through and what might possibly happen to you.

This may sound a stupid question but can these two clash??

After a fresh reinstall windows installed the Intel graphics accelerators then i installed my nvidia drivers for my Gforce 9400gt(not the best)
my monitor kept turning off on its own

Ive run dozens of tests and everything is reported as working properly
i uninstalled the intel drivers but the igfxsvc module was stilll running
even when i ended the process it would run again and it didnt appear in services
this is part of Intel and nothing to do with my nvidia drivers

I was wondering if a clash may of been causing the issue??
sorry if its a dumb question

Answer:Intel graphics accelerator & Nvidia drivers clash??

Are you sure it is not just the power setting.

Hello HP community,I have quite a problem here. I game on this HP 15-r032nx notebook that I obtained about a year and a half ago (as silly as it seems, but I'm a low-spec gamer, so anything goes), and I've been vouching for Intel to grab the latest Intel HD Graphics drivers, as the official ones provided by HP are sorely outdated (a little bit over a year, to be exact, latest official driver was released back in August 2015), meanwhile Intel's latest driver update was released in the middle of August 2016. But, the big thing was, when I decided to revert into HP's official latest drivers, all my games' performances improved marginally. I seriously feel the performance could be further improved by having HP release their version of the latest drivers for Intel HD Graphics 4400, but unfortunately I do not see that for my laptop model. Anything going on here?

Answer:Official HP Intel HD Graphics 4400 Drivers Outdated

Nothing is going on. HP does not create the drivers for the HD 4400 graphics, Intel does. It is their product. The graphics solution  is on the same chip as the CPU\APU and not on the system board. Your best source for an Intel HD 4400 graphics driver will be at the Intel driver download website

I recently installed Windows 8.1 and it turned out that I could'nt find suitable drivers for the graphics card of my laptop which is GMA 4500, part of Mobile Intel Series 4. After a bit of reading, I found out that many others are also on the same ship as me.

Previously I tried the drivers from Intel Download Center and the modified drivers from eightforums but both of them gave me an error which read something like 'an error occurred while registering one or more components'.

Now that I have the right drivers, or at least right for my laptop, I am sharing them with others here.

I have successfully tested a software that requires OpenGL2.0 with these drivers and it works great!

NOTES

You most probably don't need a custom certificate installer! I did'nt need one. These drivers are digitally signed.

Hi I have a B580 Core i3-2328 laptop updated to windows 8.1 I keep getting this error:  intel graphics accelerator drivers for windows 8(R) stopped responding The screen freezes and the computer stopps responding for a few seconds. This happens constantly and is making the laptop unusuable.  I've updated to the latest lenovo drivers and my device manager says that my intel drivers are up to date. Is there any solution to the error?

Answer:intel graphics accelerator drivers for windows 8(R) stopped responding

Hi Ergot,

Welcome to the Forums.

Can you try one of the following:
1. Boot in Safe Mode and observe if the machine still freezes. If it's fine, try to uninstall the Intel Display driver from the Control Panel (large icon view) > Programs (this will restore a generic display driver). Reboot in normal mode and run Windows Update to get the latest driver for the display adapter.

2. If you're running Windows 8.1 64bit, try getting the display driver directly from the Intel Website:
Intel® Iris? and HD graphics Driver for Windows 8.1* 64
Version: 15.33.5.64.3316

Size: 158.06 MB

Let me know how it goes.

The latest Dell drivers for Intel 530 graphic card cause minor brightness flicker every 30 s or so (although not at a regular interval). This has been reported on the Intel forum.
I first uninstalled the Intel drivers, after which the flicker no longer occurred. I later found the post mentioned above, which highlighted that the problem only started happening since after driver version "20.19.15.4331". I reverted to this driver, and indeed, the flicker is gone.
Hopefully this allows you to pinpoint which changes have been made in between this version and "20.19.15.4390". I would like to benefit from the latest drivers. For example, currently (I do not know whether it is related) when I maximize Windows the animation is very choppy.

Answer:Latest Intel Graphics drivers cause brightness flicker, older ones do not.

What model computer? You have posted in the laptop forum. Laptops almost never have graphic card updates and those rare updates must come from Dell Support. All laptop drivers must come from Dell not Intel. Laptop drivers are customized by the laptop manufacturer. Reinstall your original driver. If you need to download it, get it from Dell Drivers and Downloads.
Read the intel answer in your post's link. It says--
It is important to mention that we sell our Intel chipsets and processors to third party manufacturers and they design their own computers with their own features, settings, and capabilities. For that reason they design their own drivers, to meet the exact specifications on their computers. Your computer is having problems with our generic Intel graphics drivers; the best you can do is installing the customized driver released by the OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer).

Dear all,
have the laptop with installed Windows 8.1 po (cause it is corporate standard, other OS isn't supported inside my company, sorry). Any attempts to install Intel HD there wasn't successful: not from Dell site, nor Intel - "This computer does not meet the minimum requirements for installing the software" in spite of Windows 8.1 is in the list of compatible OS on the driver's description, e.g.:
https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/26604/Graphics--15-45-Intel-?product=96551
The only graphic driver was installed is Microsoft Basic Adapter, but I can't connect extra monitor by HDMI with this driver.
Please don't recommend me to install Win10 - I can't do it now. I need any other solutions! Thanks in advance!

This cannot be good for my computer.... any thoughts? I would truly appreciate any help or ideas on resolving this display driver issue.
Thanks so much!

Answer:Display driver Intel Graphics Drivers stopped responding

Hello, and Welcome

What is the make and model of the computer? When you look in the system tray of the desktop do you see a small icon that will let you adjust Graphics Properties.  It would look something like this.

I use Toshiba M645 Laptop that has two graphic cards
with NVIDIA Optimus Technology. (Auto-swicthing graphics processors)
Now I have some vga problems and driver questions below:

1. Intel HD Graphics <-Why can't install driver from Intel official website?, driver not supports!
, but the driver in Toshiba website can be installed fine as well.
What's wrong with that? Was it mean "Intel HD Graphics" has more than one type, several of model classes?
or it must related to the chipset of Toshiba laptop's mainboard?

2. NVIDIA Geforce GT330M <-How to use only this vga stand alone?, I tried to disable Intel HD Graphics from device manager
and then the monitor was not in use, black screen was displayed.
So, I tried to disable Intel HD Graphics in safe mode, no black screen
, but the next normal boot it was displayed like GT330M was not in use
(can't config NVIDIA tools, it was disappeared from control panel), but it was still enabled in device manager.

Now, I just updated Intel HD Graphics driver, a mouse lag in Aero themes taskbar effect was fixed,
also the video framerate fault was fixed too.

Hope someone can give the solutions, how to fix these problems.
Thanks in advance.

Answer:Intel HD Graphics + NVIDIA Geforce [Drivers & Usage problems]

1. Main reason the Intel reference driver won't work is it hasn't been modified to work with the second card (applies to laptops with either Nvidia or AMD for the second card). Same applies to the Nvidia driver, it requires the Intel driver to be installed before it can be installed.

2. From what I have seen the Nvidia card (or AMD if so equipped) can be made to run all the time only when the laptop is plugged in and you change the power settings to high performance. If that doesn't get it working all the time here may be another setting that needs to be changed. If that is the case going to have to wait on someone with a similar setup for more info.

Hi there. So long storry short. I've had some trouble with my pc being super slow, so I went to Lenovo authorised fix center and they had replaced motherboard. Unfortunately, since then I cannot use my computer properly anymore. Everytime I try to install Intel HD 4600 drivers, my pc either crashes while installing drivers or later on with a pop sound. I went back to them and they tested everything and couldn't find what's wrong. Moreover, I have tried quite a lot of different versions of Intel drivers. I've tried ones which was provided with laptop, from lenovo support center as well, then I've tried various generic drivers from Intel site (tried to install automatically, manually, in the safe mode, reiinstalling windows 8.1, updating chipset drivers and so on (even flashing bios to 3.0V 2.1v 1.13v)), but none of them work. Or if they do, then they would crash when I connect external monitor or while playing video games such as lol. I would think its a heat issue, because my keyboard becomes very hot, but I am monitoring laptop's temperatures and it doesnt go above 70 celsius. As well, heat wouldn't explain why pc crashes right after driver installation while doing nothing with it. However, without intel hd graphics drivers computer works fine, haven't crashed even once. Although, without intel hd drivers I cannot play any video games. Can someone suggest me what should i do in such situation? Thanks in advance! Specs:CPU Intel core i5-4210H 2.90GHzRam 8GBGPU ... Answer:Lenovo y50-70 crashes while/after installing Intel HD 4600 graphics drivers

First off, the authorised service center cannot get off the hook by just saying that they cannot find what is wrong, so I would make them do what ever it takes to get it working properly after they replaced the system board. That said, because your system has both the Intel and the GEForce 960m, if you must do it yourself, you need need to remove both drivers completely, and then start clean using the latest ones provided/tested from Lenovo to ensure that both cards work seamlessly together.. When uninstalling the card via Device manager, make sure to check the box to "Delete driver software for this device" to ensure that you will install a clean copy.   Next go into the Programs and Features control panel and uninstall any Nvidia software such as GEForce Experience etc. too. Once everything is uninstalled and the system has been rebooted, try reinstalling the latest Lenovo versions for both the 4600 and 960m and see if that helps. Another thing you might try is running an SFC scan to see if all the Windows system files are intact, but if you still have trouble, I would put it on the Lenvo Service Center's lap to get it working as it should. Good Luck

Dear all,
have the laptop with installed Windows 8.1 po (cause it is corporate standard, other OS isn't supported inside my company, sorry). Any attempts to install Intel HD there wasn't successful: not from Dell site, nor Intel - "This computer does not meet the minimum requirements for installing the software" in spite of Windows 8.1 is in the list of compatible OS on the driver's description, e.g.:

The only graphic driver was installed is Microsoft Basic Adapter, but I can't connect extra monitor by HDMI with this driver.
Please don't recommend me to install Win10 - I can't do it now. I need any other solutions! Thanks in advance!

In the early days of GPUs, application-specification performance optimizations in graphics drivers were viewed by many as cheating. Accusations were hurled with regularity, and in some cases, there was real cheating going on. Some optimizations surreptitiously degraded image quality in order to boost performance, which obviously isn't kosher. Optimizations that don't affect an application's image quality are harder to condemn, though, especially if you're talking about games. If a driver can offer users smoother gameplay without any ill effects, why shouldn't it be allowed?

The situation gets more complicated when one considers optimizations that specifically target benchmarks. Synthetic tests don't have user experiences to improve, just arbitrary scores to inflate. Yet the higher scores achieved through benchmark-specific optimizations could influence a PC maker's choice of graphics solution or help determine the pricing of a graphics card.

Futuremark's popular 3DMark benchmark has been the target of several questionable optimizations over the years. Given that history, it's not surprising that the company has strict guidelines for the graphics drivers it approves for use with 3DMark Vantage. These guidelines, which can be viewed here (PDF), explicitly forbid optimizations that specifically target the 3DMark Vantage executable. Here's an excerpt:

Hello there,

I am new to the forums, so please excuse me for any rules I might break. I've read them all and as far as I know abide by them, but you never know.

The following problem is bothering me a lot:
Ever since my netbook crashed and I decided to reinstall Windows a week ago I am unable to install my video drivers: Intell Graphics Media Accelerator 3150. Whenever I do this (by using windows update or by downloading the drivers from ASUS) and I restart my netbook I get a blue screen with error 0x0000007f. When I look in the Event Viewer (after installing the driver via windows update I get the following errors:

After installing the driver using the drivers from the ASUS website:

7001/Service Control Manager (eighteen times)
7026/Service Control Manager
1001/BugCheck
6000/WinLogon

I fix this problem by going in to safe mode and uninstalling the same drivers again. After that I can restart Windows and everything is back to normal again.

Answer:BSOD after installing Intel Graphics 3150 drivers, error 0x0000007f

Very curious, in each and every crashdump the generic monitor driver showed up as the cause, and all from the same function (monitor!BrightnessTargetToPercentage+32), which is evident it's dealing with altering the brightness of the monitor, probably during a power-saving operation (like when the cable is unplugged or something else triggers the monitor to dim or brighten). I kinda wanna suspect that Windows didn't install great all the way.

If you want, you can go into device manager and go to your monitor and delete the driver for it. It should then automatically recover the driver from its local driver repository. Then, go to the Asus website and look for any updates for your chipset/motherboard/cpu drivers, as well as monitor, BIOS, and finally the graphics. Once you install the graphics drivers, hopefully it'll work this time.

If that doesn't work, you should run Disk Check (both options) followed by SFC Scan. Remember to run the SFC scan from whatever you used to install Windows (USB/DVD) by entering the Recovery Environment from there. Running it from the Recovery Environment hosted on your drive will not work.

If none of those comes up with anything, and you're still getting an issue when installing the graphics drivers, then I have to assume we're dealing with faulty hardware here. I mean, you did reinstall Windows because your system was crashing, so whatever was crashing it before the reinstall most likely is what is causing it now: hardware failure.

So I install Windows 8 the display shows everything good to the native resolution. My issue is I want the features of my Graphics control panel...Mainly for video scaling...if I run a game and it only supports a 4.3 aspect ratio, I get the luxury of stretching to 16.9 I really dislike borders

From the HP site the drivers are only for Windows 7 both 32 and 64 bit.

Now this is my second time around installing windows 8...The first time I was able to install the windows 7 drivers somehow and have access to the graphics control panel...not really sure what I did...I did a upgrade install and accidentally mixed up some files. The point is I know its possible to get it working.

Now on Windows 7 where everything is working as it should I get...

Answer:Preinstalled Intel HD Graphics Drivers Preventing Graphic Control Menu

I believe you are making things a bit too complicated. You see, Windows 8 provides outdated Arrandale Intel HD Graphics drivers. Arrandale is the codename for mobile Intel Core processors released in 2010. Intel purposely blocked users from installing the Windows 7 Intel HD Graphics drivers on Windows 8, which is why you get errors. Why did Intel do this? Because they are jerks. They will most likely never release Arrandale Intel HD Graphics drivers for Windows 8.

As you can see I also have a laptop with Intel HD Graphics (Core i5 430M) running with Windows 8, as well as the control panel.

You will need to do a little bit of hacking, but its really simple. Just follow the instructions from this website. Remember to always get the latest Intel HD Graphics drivers.

Neowin - How To: Install Legacy Intel HD Graphics Drivers on Windows 8

I recommend doing it this way. It feels more cleaner. (You'll also see how Intel blacklisted Windows 8 in the driver files) But you can find on the forums and use the custom installer if you want. Its a matter of choice.

I don't know for a fact but I think the switchable graphics may be the problem with Windows 10. I had this issue with my W500. Go into BIOS and set the display to the Intel chip. Then go to the Intel site and get the driver for the Intel HD Graphics 4600. Manually install the driver using the inf file. If that works, you can do the same with Nvidia. Again you need to set the BIOS to discrete then install a driver. I have to go into BIOS to switch graphics drivers. Maybe someone has a better solution.

I'm not entirely sure what happened to my machine, it used to work when I got it out of the box. I was able to toggle the brightness higher/lower, but now it stays maxed out. By brightness, I mean the LCD display backlight is at full brightness. I am unable to turn it down by pressing FN + Down Arrow as well. See this screenshot:http://i.imgur.com/0PfHQ9O.png Basically, whenever I try to press FN + Up or Down arrow it stays there and is unable to change. I think this is some kind of problem with Windows Drivers, as I have tried to load my Ubuntu Linux distro and was able to change the brightness there. I know it's not a hardware issue, it's most likely a software issue. I have tried re-installing my graphics drivers many times, and I know my Intel Integrated HD 3000 Graphics Driver is up-to-date. If you have any suggestions or advice, please leave a reply below. I recently upgraded to windows 10 and I got a notification that my drivers were out of date. I went onto the intel website and found that no graphics drivers were released past windows 7 for my intel 4 series express chipset family. It seems as if they are not planning to release drivers for windows 10 then? Is my only option to downgrade to windows 7 or are there safe 3rd party drivers I can use?
