Lenovo Y530 Ideapad :: DVD CD Not Working or Recognized Code 39

Question: Lenovo Y530 Ideapad :: DVD CD Not Working or Recognized Code 39

I just recently purchased my new laptop last week and tried installing some software with my CD/DVD drive. Only to find out that the drive doesn't appear at all. The C: & D: Drive appear as well as my USB drives but not the DVD drive. I check my Device Manager and it states a CODE 39. I shouldn't be having this problem with my new laptop. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Answer: Lenovo Y530 Ideapad :: DVD CD Not Working or Recognized Code 39

Try deleting drivers for your drive and rebbot. After reboot you'll get drivers installed.

Hi, my name is Ben and i own a 2 year old Lenovo Y530 laptop with windows Vista Home Premium.Everything was working fine, when one day about a month and a half ago, i got the "blue screen of death".Better known as an error code, where your computer crashes.I then proceeded to re-install windows vista, where then it failed to install the updates, and only after a very short amount of time of actually being in the desktop of the computer, it crashed once more, giving the classic error message of it might be something new that was installed, or new hardware, when in reality i didn't install or add/remove any new equipment whatsoever.I bought this Laptop in the US 2 years ago in late 2008, and then moved to Israel. So here is the real problem, after checking the HDD for bugs, or viruses, it was fpormatted, and put back in, also following a system recovery from Lenovos one click recovery system. And found that neither the HDD, or the OS was trhe problem. So since i live in Israel, i sent it to my local Lenovo shop, where they said they do not fix these types of lenovo laptops! So how am i supposed to get to the bottom of this issue? if my local computer lenovo store does not fix my model of computer?I would like an answer ASAP because i need this computer for school and such, and the information that was lost is irrelevant, i would just like the computer to be functioning and stable again.Thank you, and much regards,Ben.

Answer:Lenovo IdeaPad Y530 Crashed, not working, no tech support, need expert/lenovo technician advice

To be covered by warranty, your laptop must have IWS (International Warranty Service). That's the only way to get covered. http://consumersupport.lenovo.com/UserFiles/IWS/20100909035858_62.htm Best regards.

standard ps/2 keyboard. device manager shows: this device cannot start (code 10), No conflicts. I don't think it's hardware problem. since I can use the keyboard in F2 setup and in debugger mode.  But not working in the safe mode. I tried to uninstall keyboard and restarted the computer. No working. Plugged a USB external keyboard, works well. Need help. thanks.

Answer:ideapad Y530: keyboard no response (code 10)

Try doing a One Key Recovery on your computer first if that doesn't solve the issue then call your Technical Support and get your computer sent to the depot to get fixed. If you haven't physically damaged it then it should be repaired within seven business days including shipping to and from the depot

I have test with a vista 64bits and it's the same problem 2,5Go... I tried to flash BIOS but its protected in write. what can i do?If there is another solution am ok to try.and where can i find all the program LENOVO as lenovo easy capture, eneergy management...? Thank for your answers and sorry for my english

Answer:RAM on Lenovo ideapad Y530

It is not a newsflash that 32bit Windows can't see above 3,5 GB RAM or in rare cases even above 2,5 GB RAM. If you install 4 videocards containing 1 GB videoram each, 32bit windows in theory will not see any RAM at all.But it is unbelievable that 64bit one can't see more. So, it's not about Windows version... What else can limit RAM? BIOS and chipset. What exact model do you own? Try CPU-Z 1,47 to detect chipset. Seems like some low-end models of Y530 are based on GL40 chipset that supports officially only 2 GB of RAM.This is situation just as one with G410 Lenovo laptops - some models are based on GM965 and some are on GL960. Those with GL960 can't take more than 2 GB in theory and more than 2,5 GB in practice.

I've been trolling the forums for a while, and am left with a simple question regarding my specific situation. I have an IdeaPad Y530 with 160 gb hd.  According to Disk Management, I have a C: partition with 105 gigs, a D: (Lenovo) partition with 29 gigs, and an unnamed partition with 15 gigs.  Because I want as much of my HD available to me as possible, I want to erase my D: partition.  I have created recovery disks with OKR.  If I erase my D: partition, will I be able to recover my computer if it experiences a crash by using the recovery disks? Also, anyone know what this third (hidden) partition's purpose is?  Can I somehow unhide it? Thanks!

Solved!

Answer:Ideapad Y530 - lenovo partition

The answer is simple. No you won't. What I would recommend is the following...... Restore to factory preinstalled state with OneKey recovery partition.Complete the initial configuration. [creating user name and password, naming computer, etc., etc.]***You can uninstall the bloatware at this pointDelete partition for drive "D".Allocate the space to drive "C"Create a backup using OneKey. [within Windows]Burn recovery disks. The reason you have to do this is because changing partition sizes destroys the possibility of recovering with OneKey partition or recovery disks created with OneKey. Hope this helps.

When I turned on the laptop for the second time I saw the battery had about 5 min left. So I decided to plug it into AC power. I got out the cords from the box and plugged them in. Then I plugged the power cord into the laptop. I assumed it was charging but I was wrong. I got a power message and it shut down. Now I can not turn it on because the battery is completely dead and the AC power seems to do absolutely nothing. It won't charge at all. I really need help on what to do.

Answer:Lenovo Ideapad Y530 won't run on AC power

Probably a faulty connection somewhere either on the computer or on the actual power brick. Make sure that when the cable to the wall is plugged in, the word lenovo on the power brick lights up blue. Also make sure that when the computer is plugged into the wall, the middle blue LED on the bottom right of the computer lights up. If both those things light up but it still isn't actually charging, then I think you'll have to send it in to get repaired. Otherwise a new power cable would fix it.

I'm currently using the Dell Studio 15, I first purchased this laptop on December 18th with problems right out of the box, then I got an exchange, with problems right out of the box! So I am returning my product and considering to purchase the Lenovo IdeaPad Y530. I'm new to laptops and the Dell I have is my first time buying a computer, considering I had problems right out of the box TWO times I feel that I need to be very picky about what I buy, laptop wise. I like the way it looks, I hear it's nice and sturdy, has a beautiful keyboard and touch pad. The only bad thing I heard as of yet is that the screen is way too mirror like....But my Studio 15 is mirror like when I'm in the garage with the door open and it does not bother me much at all...I'm considering HP and Lenovo, mostly Lenovo. So I was wondering if the IdeaPad Y530 is a good choice for me? What are the COMMON problems? And how much trust can I put into Lenovo and the IdeaPad Y530? If anyone can help I will be very greatfull. Thank you all for the help.

Answer:Should I purchase Lenovo's IdeaPad Y530? I don't know much about computers!

Right now I'm keying for enlarged characters and they are disappearing from this note. If you need a lot of support I find it hard to come by.   It's 64 bit and that seems to cause problems. I got mine last mon from circuit city and now they are out of business. There is a forum but that seem to be pot luck as to ever getting a response.

I recently did the same on Y530, Vista to Win 7. I have not set up veriface, or camera, but I see no verifacefor Win 7 on driver page. (Drivers, start HERE) You MAY want to create a Windows restore point, and then try the Vistaversion of the driver and veriface.?? At your risk. Then if there are problems, restore to previous point. I may try this, not sure, since I do not need camera or veriface. If I find out any more, I will update, and you do the same.

When I turn on the laptop it is quiet and then after being on for 30 minutes or hour, the fan starts going crazy and making a ton of noise.  The laptop base will also get very hot sometimes all while sitting on a wood table.  I recently upgraded to Win 7 but hd the same issue withVIsta before,  This happens whether the computer is sitting there idle or playing a game.  I don't want to damage my computer and would like less noise, what can I do?

Hi All, I am writing from National Instruments Technical Support with an issue that one of our customer's is having. The customer uses Lenovo IdeaPad Y530 (model name: 20009) and was trying to use MXI-4 remote controller of PXI chassis. It is basically a PCI extension with CompactPCI form factor. Unfortunatelly the extension of PCI bus did not work, any device installed in the PXI chassis received code 12 (unable to allocate resources) in Device Manager. We know about this issue on some laptops, they just simply don't allow hooking up PCI bus on ExpressCard (correct me if I'm wrong) - see our knowledgebase. We provide a potential solution, which is MXI-Express Compatibility Software. This solution can fix some BIOS limitations, but not all of them. Unfortunatelly in case of the customer it did not help. The customer purchased IBM Leonovo Y530 just for the purpose of using it with MXI-Express Controller. National Instruments cannot resolve this issue. Is there any BIOS version or extension that could allow Windows to allocate devices on the extended PCI bus?

I have an Ideapad Y530 with Windows 7 64 bit.  I have used my webcam infrequently in gmail without problems before, but it has suddenly stopped working.  I have also used testwebcam.com to verify that the webcam is not working: no devices are displayed. I have tried pressing Fn+Esc to turn the camera on (and reinstalling the hotkey driver), although this does not have any effect. I have also tried reinstalling the webcam drivers (I don't think I had Windows 7 64 bit drivers before), but after the files are extracted, the install begins, but is immediately interrupted by an error message that says "The Lenovo EasyCamera has (sic) not found!  Please plug in the Lenovo EasyCamera and then run the installation again." It seems the machine is not recognizing the hardware.  Any suggestions?  (FWIW, the machine is just out of warranty.)

Answer:Lenovo IdeaPad Y530 Microsoft VISTA Home Premium PROBLEMS

As you have been having these problems from day-1, and you seem to have gone a long way to rule out a hardware problem, I would suggest recovering your system to factory state after backing up your important files. If the system does have an hardware problem this will hopefully show itself during the recovery. It may also be worth running some independant hardware tests like Drive Fitness Test and MemTest86.  I'm sure Lenovo will replace your hard drive if it proves to be faulty, but sending you one with XP on it - sorry, but this is unfortunately not possible. You have Vista Home Premium which is not entitled to a downgrade, only Business and above are entitled to this. These are Microsoft's rules and not Lenovo's and I don't see Lenovo breaking their contractual agreements with MS. If you feel you must have XP then you will need to purchase a license and install it and the drivers manually. Good luck

Thanks for your reply, I will edit my post accordingly [regarding the fee]. It wasn't meant to be a fee, just a small donation for my efforts seeing as how I posted the full instructions and didn't leave anything out. I edited this post to mark my tutorial [now the third post] as the solution, which will now be in green. Unfortunately, the first post is only meant to be for asking your question/requesting help and thus cannot be marked as the acceptable solution. By the way, I am pretty sure you can recreate the OneKey Recovery partition with a Windows XP image and/or with your favorite Linux distribution. For linx, you may need to remove hard drive [**not sure if this voids your warranty but be careful**] and create the image with a spare hard drive running either XP or Vista because you need OKR 6.0 installed in order to create the backup image you will be replacing in the OneKey partition. If you found that this is a solution for your situation, please come back and leave a thanks. I would like to see how many people benefitted from this tutorial.Message Edited by ortegaluis on 10-27-2008 08:32 AMMessage Edited by ortegaluis on 10-27-2008 08:38 AM

This just randomly happened while I was on the internet, but my USB mouse stopped working. I didn't think it was a big deal so I just unplugged the mouse, and plugged it back into a different port. I got a pop up that said "device not recognized". So, I just rebooted the computer, and tried to plug the mouse in again. Still, same message no matter which of the four ports I plug into. It doesn't matter what device I use either. I have a USB webcam that does the same thing. These devices work perfectly on two other computers, and I've confirmed that since this issue began yesterday.

So I go into the Device Manager, and try to uninstall the driver and reinstall. That doesn't work. I tried to update the drivers, that doesn't work either. I've tried to uninstall everything under the Universal Serial Bus Controllers drop-down flag in the Device Manager and then restart, that didn't work.

I've tried restarting in Safe Mode, and then running the command line "sfc /scannow", and it didn't detect any problems. I've tried it in normal mode with and without the mouse plugged in. Still didn't detect anything.

I ran a System Restore to my earliest point, and that didn't work either. I ran everything in CCleaner (why not), Emergency Kit Scanner and Avast, and that didn't detect anything. I ran the download from the Fix It Center from Microsoft. It just tells me what I already know...nothing.

So I then I unplugged my laptop, took the battery out and let it sit overni... Read more

Welcome to Lenovo Forums.

Firstly, this controller enables USB over wireless as part of the Intel (WiDi) Wireless Display function. The yellow bank (or warning) just started occurring in early 2013.

The wireless display portion of the WiDi driver would still continue to work even with the yellow bang.

Lenovo Support Site has the Intel WiDi driver for the IdeaPad P400 which addressed the yellow exclamation mark issue.

Lastly, to enable the touchscreen follow below steps:

Solution 1 -

Swipe in from the right edge of the screen, and then tap Search. ...
Enter Calibrate in the search box, and then tap or click Calibrate the screen for pen or touch input to open Tablet PC Settings.
Tap or click Setup, and then follow the on-screen instructions.

Solution 2 -

Press the Wi... Read more

Question: IdeaPad Y530

Dear Expertise, My second Lenovo is IdeaPad Y530.It will be delivered after a wk. My first Lenovo is ThinkPad T400. My question is: Is "ThinkVantage System Update" also installed in IdeaPad Y530? I love this Lenovo utility. Why? It makes my life simple & less headache which I frequently faced while I was using Dell Inspiron. Kindly confirm me whether this "ThinkVantage" is bundled with IdeaPad. My regards Dr. Khan

Answer:IdeaPad Y530

ThinkVantage is not bundled with the Y530, which is aimed more toward the consumer market. It still includes a backup partition as well as the option of creating your own backup disks. If you purchased your Ideapad with Vista 64 I would highly recommend updating your drivers from the respective manufacturers websites versus Lenovo's as I have achieved much better results and stability so far with this method.

I already looked on the download and support page and there is nothing available for no OS. So, if it's possible, please let me know and where to download it! In advance, Thank you for your help!

Hi.  I've searched the forum several times looking for information about replacing my Ideapad Y530's thermal CPU paste, but I haven't found anything relevant.  I'm not happy with my CPU temperatures (60c idle according to Core Temp, even with a laptop cooling pad) and I have a tube of Arctic Silver 5 handy.  My warranty is expired so that is not an issue.  The only problem is removing the heat sink.  Does anyone have experience removing it?  Do I need to disassemble the laptop or do I only need to remove the back plate covering the CPU?  Thanks.

Greetings all, I recently purchased a new camera with is compatable with both SD and SDHC cards.  Since the HC have the higher capacity and can be larger cards I was interested in purchasing one.   My concern was whether or not my SD port would be able to take an SDHC card.  Everything I have read online says that SD and SDHC are very similar but you have to check with each individual product to make sure they are compatable.  I have been scouring both the site and the owner manual to see if there is there is some answer as to whether or not my computer will be able to use SDHC cards.   I have an Ideapad Y530 and my card port, according to the manual is compatable with MMC, MS, MS pro, SD, SD pro, and xD cards.  It doesn't say specifically one way or the other and I would really like some resolution.  Thanks all,  Sid

I believe that Lenovo outsources the Ideapad production to Quanta (who in turn would produce their mobo for them), as do many other major brands. I think in terms of replacement you would either have to go through Lenovo or you could possibly find one on Ebay, although I would be a bit wary.Message Edited by Vile-Evil-Live on 01-16-2009 07:35 AM

I currently own a Lenovo IdeaPad Y530.  Beginning recently, when I plug the system into an electrical outlet, the blue battery indicator light at the front of the system comes on but immediately goes back off.  The light normally stays on until the computer is shut down.  In addition, the battery indicator icon located at right side bottom of the screen consistently indicates that the system is "plugged in, not charging" although the power level has dropped below the point where the system used to recharge the battery automatically.  Is the problem a bad battery or something else?  Thank you for any help you can render.

Sooooo, after 6 months of fixing my laptop i finally go it working today, and the first problem i had was my speakers... as you know i have 3 speakers, one of each side of the keyboard and one above the keyboard. Well mydrivers showed 3 different drivers , one for each speaker.. and would only allow me to use one speaker while listening to things. so i downloaded a new 64bit windows 7 realtek driver for my speakers.. and guess what.... now i get no sound but al the speakers are consolidated down to one driver... any ideas?

Anyone know why my video is slow/lagging when using my webcam on my IdeaPad Y530? I'm thinking maybe because there is no dedicated graphics card in it, just the Intel GMA 4500MHD, and it's running Vista?   Is anyone with this same configuration getting smooth video using the webcam?  I don't understand why Lenovo would include a webcam on this model if it's not capable of anything besides slow/lagging video. I've reinstalled the driver for the camera several times.  I also have a question regarding reinstalling the camera driver.  After downloading and installing, the driver version show different than what's on the download page.  And, lenovo page says lenovo is the manufacturer, but after installing, device manager shows sonix as the manufacture. The picture quality is acceptable on the video, but the slow framerate is not.Edit:  additional information...I tried using my Logitech Communicate STX usb webcam to see how that one worked in comparison.  The framrate also was rather slow until I unchecked the low light boost option....then the video was real smooth.  Maybe the driver needs to be rewritten for the integrated webcam to allow for such an option?Message Edited by thebigdintx on 03-15-2009 05:28 PM

So, my battery has gone in one year at the value of 18% Wear Level! That is, by my standards, really bad, since the battery was not charged/recharged for like a maximum of once per week. And a few times in between, so i guesst that the number of recharge cycles is somwhere below the number of 70-80. I was hoping a more low wear level after this time since i have a 2-year old fujitsu-siemens[which is in terms of build quality and hardware, wayy low compared to my lenovo], and it has a wear level of about 9%. I have a 6-Cell 57Whr battery. And searching for replacements got me an unpleasant surprise. Lenovo USA does NOT sell those kind of batteries. Only 44Whr batteries. My 18% wear-level battery has 45.9Whr at the moment. So, where can i find an original 57Whr battery replacement, since if I will buy the 44Whr, basically, there would be no difference at all!

I have a fairly nasty malware problem that I've finally decided to get rid up by restoring my computer to the original factory settings. However, when I shut down and press the NOVO button, it works the same as the on/off button and merely boots into Windows. I bought the computer brand new and have never changed any of the partition sizes. D: drive has all it's original folders as far as I know (OneKey Recovery, System Repair, Vista, etc.), so what's the problem? Could the malware be causing this? And is there any other way to do a factory restore?

Answer:OneKey Problem on Ideapad Y530

burn back-up dvd and try it. if windows vista installed, run one-key recover 6.0.already got backups, skip "back up" otherwise click that.select full backup, quick compression and next >choose the path or leave it default and next >and start.after back up ends, restart the application one-key recover 6.0click "create recovery disc" and next >select the backup you have and next>this screen will tell you how much cd or dvd you need, min 2 dvd or 8cd, max 7 dvd or 28 cd. and next>insert the blank cds or dvds into driver and wait until done.you may need the system image, you can lose your back-up cd, or cds may not working after a while, so , i still recommend that you keep the original copy or more than one backup.size of recovery cd depens on how much size of disk space you use. its up 2-7 dvd or 4-28 cd.

Greetings to All, I have a Lenovo Ideapad Y530, which I must say is and excellent machine, up until about a couple of weeks ago.  When ever I boot up the system it will pause on the LENOVO splash screen.  The system is three months short of being 3 years old.  The only other problem I've had with this system was a memory problem the memory was replaced and it's been working like a champ since, up  until a couple of weeks ago.  I'll have to force a power off and when I press the power button again the boot up process will stop on the LENOVO splash screen for a few seconds and then proceed in completing booting up.  I did notice that always on the second attempt to book up the hard drive light like will flash once and then the booting process will finish.  Anyone with any idea as to why this is happening and what can I do about it?  Thanks in advance

I also bought one yesterday and as you, await for it's arrival, I have the same question and when looking for drivers here on the support site only see Vista Driver's, I have no intentions of ever using Vista and would rather spend the time loading up Linux and working through those, However I don 't mind XP Pro and would rather use it on my laptop than anything else. Well it seem in my haste, I missed page 2 of the drivers, you can find all the XP drivers Here, Install should breeze as mentioned before, I'll assume you'll need a full legit copy of Win XP and of course in the Bio's change the SATA HD to compatibility mode, I would highly recommend slip streaming SP3 into your installation to avoid any unwanted pleasant experiences with sound drivers.Message Edited by Freelancer on 09-13-2008 06:05 AM

I know, there are here a few topics that discussed the possibility to change the video card. And most of the topics ended up with no success. But I want to change that. So, I opened up my Y530, and checked the dimensions of the MXM slot. It seems to be an MXM II slot with 73x78mm. So basically, any MXM II video card would fit in there. But the problem is, where to get the heat-pipe system?! I would like to know if Lenovo would be kind enough to find in their deposit an extra heat-pipe system from an Ideapad Y530 with Nvidia Video Card My Y530 is identical, the holes for the video card are in the same place as in the first picture.

Hi, I recently bought Ideapad Y530 (40512QU) and plan to install XP on it. I tried to search lenovo support/download website for XP driver but can't find the XP driver (or even Vista driver) available on the website. After I enter all the information(family, type, model..) for this model, at the end it is said "No documention found".  Can someone point me to the link for the XP driver? Thanks a lot for your kind help.

i just recently had the motherboard go bad on a y530 ideapad. the computer wont be 3 years old till november.i was hoping the problem was just  in the keyboard as the t y and backspace keys werent working. i tried an external keyboard and the onscreen one which worked fine.three new keyboards were tried all produced the same problem. then they knew it was the mother board. i can see a motherboard failing on an older computer which ive had that happen but on one fairly new was disheartening to say the least.has anyone else had the motherboards go out on that model also?that was the first lenovo laptop i bought brand new and loved it and had a keyboard easy to type on and a dolby sound system.sadly i had to retire it and bought a g570 laptop which i love but its not my y530.it would of cost more to fix it than it was worth.

I am looking for a replacement keyboard as mine got damaged. Lenovo doesn't sell it and sending it to them for fixing is quite expensive. I am thinking about replacing it on my own. Is there any company selling keyboard compatible with this model? Also, are there instructions on how to replace the keyboard? Please post if you know.

Hello, I've used an IBM-manufactured R51 for years now, and have loved it; but after experiencing a number of critical problems with it I recently retired it and purchased an Ideapad Y530.  The action on the Ideapad keyboard is awful, just awful, all soft and squishy.  I miss what for me was the perfect action of the R51's beyboard.  Does anyone know if the keyboard on this old R51 would be compatible with the Y530?  I know it wouldn't fit nicely in terms of physical dimensions, but I'm willing to DIY it if the connection-jack between the keyboards was a match, and if the keyboard would function properly with the new machine.  I'm heartbroken here with this new Lenovo Ideapad, and my old R51 sitting there unplugged next to it.  Does anyone have any knowledge about compatibility?  I would be so grateful to anyone who could shine some light on this.  Thank you in advance...

I bought a ideapad y530 a couple of months ago. I really love it, especially with the nvidia graphics card. However, lately, it's been over heating way to quickly and slows down performance. After 10 minutes of playing a mid-level graphics game and then every five minutes after that it will overheat and slow the cpu and graphics speed down (the fan sounds like a blow dryer too). I opened up the case to check for dust or if the heat sync was loose, but nothing was found (don't worry, I'm A+ technician certified). I just want to know if there's something better I can install for the laptop to cool it down better or even if there's a laptop cooling stand that works well with the y530?

Answer:Ideapad y530 over heating too quickly

I suggerst either liquid got out of heatpipes or jsut GPU or CPU thermal grease is dryed out, and another variant is just not tough interaction between chips and heatsink - you can examine last two by yourself.None of cooling pads will help you in these situations.

Going to get a Y530 but having few questions regarding the RAM- How many RAM slot it comes with?- Not sure why all P7350 CPU models come with DDR2 RA??instead of DDR3 as seen for T5800. Can I replace these DDR2 with DDR3 by myself?

Answer:IdeaPad Y530 Memory question

2 RAM slots.RAM type is not dependive on processors on Intel platforms - you can get any processor with any RAM type.If your configuration has DDR2 RAM you'll not be able to upgrade it to DDR3 RAM and vice versa

I have a lenovo ideapad Y530 and was able to upgrade it to Wndows 8 with no issues.  Now I am trying to upgrade it to WIndows 8.1 and it continues to fail with a 0x19000101 - 0xC20017 error upon reboot.  Prior to the failure, upon reboot I see a screen with a on it so something is wrong...just cannot see what the error is because the screen goes by so fast.  I have done everything recommended including doing windows update, upgraded all of the drivers, etc.  I don't know how to proceed.  I did see two others on the microsoft forums have this issue as well, so I'm starting to think this is HW related.  Any help on fixing this would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks. Steve

My Ideapad Y530 monitor keeps cutting out.  At first, it only did it when I closed the lid and let the computer go to sleep.  When I would come back and open the lid-no video. I initially assumed the computer was having a problem coming out of sleep mode amd spend a lot of time fooling around with the power management settings and drivers, but, on a hunch, I plugged in an external monitor and found that the computer was not stuck in sleep mode.  When I plugged in the external monitor, the laptop monitor came back to life as well and was cutting out when I wiggled the external monitor connector. Now it recenly also started doing cutting ut when I re-boot.  I was able to unplug the external monitor and the laptop monitor seems to be working OK for now,but I suspect a problem with the circuit board that the external monitor input jack is connected to.  Could I replace that board myself?  I am fairly handy, but by no means am I an electronics or computer technican/expert. I did also just downloaded the updated graphics drivers for my laptop from the Intel Site, but I suspect that will not solve the problem-given that I could get both the laptop monitor and the external monitor to cut out by wiggling he external monitor connection cable. Any advice would be extremely appreciated!
