Anyone having Horizon Bluetooth Sync Connection Problem?

Question: Anyone having Horizon Bluetooth Sync Connection Problem?

I have a Jawbone Jambox (bluetooth speakers) that will not stay synced to my Horizon. I seem to have to remove it and re-add it almost everytime. Sometimes it wont even sync, is anyone else having issues like this for blue tooth. Are there any short cuts, the whole process seems wonky. Thanks for your help.

Preferred Solution: Anyone having Horizon Bluetooth Sync Connection Problem?

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

My ipaq 3760 apparently establishes a bluetooth connection with my desktop according to the balloon which pops up at the bottom of the screen but the activesync program fails to recognise the ipaq. Port settings are com4 for activesync and bluetooth activesync service. The activesync window pops up and says connecting but then the "fails to recognise" window pops up.The get connected option in activesync runs through all the ports but fails to connect. I have had a succesful connection previously but something or me has messed it up.suggestions gratefully recived

My keyboard won't stay connected to the Bluetooth. Windows disabled the Bluetooth and gave this messge: "Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)." What is this and how do I fix it? I can't get my Logitech K810 keybaord to stay connected. It pairs, and works for awhile, then disconnests, even though it says it is connected. Driver update says the drivers in place are the right ones. I've also tried Bluetooth dongles to connect with, but I get the same problem -- connects for a while and then disconnects.

Recently purchased a Horizon 2 all-in-one. I am attempting to connect a tv as a second monitor but am having trouble. I have tried HDMI to HDMI as well as HDMI to VGA conversion. Windows key + P gives options for projected display, but clicking on any option simply removes the tab without anything happening. When I go to display options, it will not detect the second monitor at all. I have uninstalled and reinstalled drivers. Nothings seems to be fixing the problem. Windows 8.1 64bit system. Please Help!

Hello All, I have a T43 2687-DUU.  I am currently running XP with service pack 3.   I installed ActiveSync 4.5 on my computer and connected my Samsung Blackjack II to sync my PC and phone.  When I connected the for some reason the computer treated the phone like another type of internet connection.  It tried to assign an IP address to the new connection but if fail.  It also caused my wireless connection to be disconnected.  When I tired to connect again my wireless connection would not connect.  It would authenticate and follow all of the other steps it normally did however, it would not have an IP addressed assigned.  I can use my LAN connection however, I have been unable to resolve my wireless connectivity issue.  I did try to follow the steps on the support website to update access connections and the driver with no success.  I believe I followed the steps correctly.  I have even run the recovery discs to restore my PC and the problem is still here.  I am at a loss on what to do next.  Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks

So my bluetooth adapter should be here tomorrow, and i decided to make sure it was easy enough to hook up to windows on my macbook pro running windows 7 64 bit. it sees the headset, but says ' no drivers available'.

if i reboot the macbook into OS X, bluetooth works flawlessly and I can stream audio from the computer to the headset. its windows I'm having a problem with, and afraid I will have the same problem in Windows 10, which is what I am running on my desktop.

is there a Windows driver for the LG HBS-730 headset?

I want to stream game audio from the computer to the headset. Kind of sucks having to have Arkham City on super low volume, or wearing huge clunky headphones popular with WoW back in 2008.

Answer:LG HBS-730 bluetooth connection problem

Have you tried running the bluetooth adapter on a true Windows7 machine? Apps with drivers built for Win7 don't always work properly on Mac OS in boot camp or emulation mode.

Does the bluetooth adapter spec state that it's compatible with Mac OSX as well as Win7??

My apologies if this isn't the correct thread for this post. In my opinion Bluetooth falls in the networking niche. Please move it to the appropriate thread if not. Thanks!

First off I want to thank you for any help you may provide and for this wonderfull website! This is my first post here as I am pretty tech savvy and don’t usually find myself in the position where I need to ask for help. With that being said I will get to the point of this post.

I recently bought a cell, a T-Mobile Sparq to be completely accurate, and tried to connect it to my laptop via Bluetooth. My laptop is an Asus G75VW which comes with BT capabilities. When I run the BT suite and click “Add a Device” it sits at the “Searching for a device.. Make sure your device is discoverable.” Prompt for as long as I let it without discovering my phone. I made sure my phone’s BT is active and discoverable. My next step was to go into my Control Panel>Administrative Tools>Component Services> Services (Local) to make sure BT and its dependencies where active, which they were. I updated all my related drivers and when that didn’t work I un-installed and re-installed them, to no avail. I checked my device manager to make sure there were no conflicts there and found nothing. I then spent a few hours on Google troubleshooting and was not able to find anything that I had not already tried. That’s when I decided to drop this problem onto the genius minds of the Tech-Guy forums for if they can’t so... Read more

I have a Dell studio 15 with Windows 7 and Bluetooth. I am trying to install Manhattan 2800 Bluetooth bookshelf speakers. They sometimes play but disconnect intermittently. When Bluetooth disconnects I have to completely shut down and start over. (I haven't been able to fix it with just Restart.)

Here is a clue:
In "devices and Printers" it shows the laptop as a device:
Studio 15 [properties]

Selecting: [Bluetooth L2CAP Interface] -- properties/General
"Device status
Windows cannot verify the digital signature for the drivers required for this device. A recent hardware or software change might have installed a file that is signed incorrectly or damaged, or that might be malicious software from an unknown source. (Code 52)"

Selecting: [Bluetooth Hands free audio] -- properties
Driver= Broadcom Corp, 7/1/2009,6.2.0.9500
Digital Signer: Microsoft Windows Hardware compatibility Publisher.

The speaker documentation indicates Bluetooth v1.2, class 2 and A2DP protocol support

The Bluetooth icon on the bar at the bottom of the desktop disappears when the connection breaks while looking at properties.

This might be related -- I also have a Kensington Bluetooth trackball mouse that has intermittent problems with connecting at start-up. When the mouse doesn't work at start-up, I can usually make it work by removing its batteries and putting them back.

Advice will be appreciated,
Stan Hilliard

Answer:Intermittant problem with new bluetooth connection

You could consider getting a USB based Bluetooth adapter exclusively for your speakers. One that supports A2DP would be perfect.

Answer:i had a problem about bluetooth connection in z400

hi Charles_xiang,

Welcome to the Forums.

Are you getting pairing issues?
 - if you are, can you provide the error

Also, try the following:
1. Enable the bluetooth by pressing the Windows logo key? +C > Change PC Settings > Wireless (left pane) and toggle Bluetooth to ON.
   - when finished, try to clear the paired devices on your phone and pair it again to the PC

2. If you have the Intel Centrino 2230 (Wi-Fi+Bluetooth) combo adapter, navigate to the Control Panel (large icon view) > Programs & Features and uninstall the Intel + WiFi bluetooth software.
   -when done, install the following:
Intel® PROSet/Wireless Software and Drivers for Windows 8* (install this first)
    Intel® PROSet/Wireless Bluetooth Software for Windows 8*

-after installing, repeat Step 1 and observe

Let me know your findings.

So, this is now driving me absolutely insane, and I couldn't have better chances for success (or so I think).
I am using a Lenovo Thinkpad W530 (Windows 8), and I have a Lumia 920 (Windows Phone 8). Seems pretty darn compatible, right?
Well my issue is simply "They will not connect or cooperate well"

Let me first say that through a blurry mashing of key presses and strange settings windows I have gotten the two to connect before for music control. But only twice.

The issue I have is apparently on both the phone and the computer-
When I tap connect on the phone, it stays connected for a few seconds, then disconnects.
When I try and connect on the laptop, it won't connect at all.
When I try and open the bluetooth device window, it stay open for a couple seconds and then closes.
Sometimes the music controller window appears, then disappears.

My phone doesn't appear to have anything wrong with it, I have restarted the phone completely with no effect.
The computer is under a month old with no driver issues or hardware issues, so it can't be that either.
What on earth am I doing wrong here? Why doesn't Windows (8) (and I hate saying this) have an efficient bluetooth connection service like Mac? connecting my phone to a Mac easier than easy. On windows it's nearly asking me to remove my hair strand by strand.

Thanks in advance.

I have just got an X121e and it cannot find any bluetooth devices. I have made sure the bluetooth in the laptop is on and checked the settings to enable it to be found and connected to, yet it cannot find either of the two mobiles I have tried to pair with it. Both the phones can find the laptop however, but the bluetooth connection fails. I've downloaded and installed the latest bluetooth driver from the Lenovo website. What else can I do? Is the problem the laptop, bluetooth, windows 7 or what?

Answer:X121e bluetooth connection problem

Hi

You need to install following drivers first

1. Hotkey Drivers
http://support.lenovo.com/en_US/downloads/detail.page?DocID=DS014985

2. Access Connection

http://support.lenovo.com/en_US/downloads/detail.page?&LegacyDocID=MIGR-73682

After installation restart the system , Turn on the Wlan Radio Button , after windows is logged in Press Fn + F5 button to verify the Bluetooth and Wlan status .

Then Make your computer discoverable , so that it can be accessed by other devices

Hope This Helps

Hi I have connected the microsoft wedge mouse and a bluetooth headset to my yoga. I am having the following problems 1, Mouse - at certain times the mouse icon start flashing and moving around haphazardly - as i move the mouse the mouse icon moves very irregularly as if there is interferance between transmission of laptop and mouse - this last for a few seconds and then returns back to normal2, Bluetooth audio - whilst playing a video on youtube the mouse cuts for half to 1 sec at various points. This does not happen with laptop speakers. I tried uninstalling the bluetooth drivers as it was suggested, yet this did not solve the issue. Hope this issue can be solved Ken

Answer:Lenovo Yoga Bluetooth connection problem

I started having a similar issue when I installed the latest Wifi/BT driver.  Even after I rolled back to the older driver, something had changed. I no longer am able to use my BT Creative D100 speakers as it causes my BT mouse to act up (similar symptoms you are having; but my mouse never stabilized). In addition, my USB3 Ethernet adapter no longer automatically switches back to Wifi when I unplug it (I have to manually reconnect to my wireless router). I very much regret installing the new drivers.  Before that, my Yoga 13 was very solid/stable.

After inverting the order of the two cables, Wifi and Bluetooth worked without problems. In the picture you can see the correct wiring.

When using cortana on my band 2 it always comes up as turn on blue tooth or make sure its connected. I just recently decided to switch to the Microsoft platform because I could use cortana with my voice and band 2. I went through hell and back trying to convert my android info into the Microsoft eco system. I don't know why im so determined and stubborn to keep trying with Microsoft. Your products on paper seem so superior but in reality are sub par. The only reason I switched to a microsoft phone was the voice connectivity with cortana. What I found is that the band worked better with android as well as all the other apps that are cross functional. Why on earth does a Microsoft product have so many issues talking with its own brand. I think i'm returning the phone and possibly even the band, even after returning to the store 5 times and wasting so much of my time. I'm disappointed Microsoft, yet will probably still keep trying your products, why why why./

In short:
* Bluetooth syncing between PPC mobile phone does not work
* Bluetooth between PPC mobile phone and Dell Laptop pairs
* USB Syncing between mobile phone and Mobile device center works
* Bluetooth syncing between PPC mobile phone prior to system reinstall DID work and worked well.
* Bluetooth mouse was paired first this time and works well.

Problem Details:
I have a windows pocket pc phone that connected to Bluetooth very well with my Dell D830 prior to the crash I had last week. In fact, it worked better with Bluetooth than it did with the USB connection. After receiving a hard drive from Dell with the Vista Dell Basic operating system image on it and set my system up again along with all my programs and downloaded and installed the Mobile Device Center 6.1 from the Microsoft site. I synced pocket PC phone up with usb and had no problems. I set up my bluetooth and it connected with no problems. (I have a Bluetooth mouse that I set up and it works perfectly.) The Mobile Device Center partnership with bluetooth will not work. When I select ActiveSync and select Menu/Sync with Bluetooth, the Mobile center does not recognize the PPC phone. I see no response from the Mobile Device Center at all. Hi all,
I recently bought a Lumia 620 to discover WP8 and to see if the WP platform works for me.
Till now I'm impressed. It's tiles are so easy to use and everything works like a charm...
The lack of apps is there, but not an obstacle. The 620 is an absolute bargain... Value for money...
To retire my Nokia E72 two things must work.Agenda and contact sync with Lotus Notes, and that is where the rubber meets the road.
I work for a large company where security rules are very VERY strict.
All mobile devices must be registered to be able to have company network access, meaning that a lot of security software will be installed.I don't want all that. The only capabilities I require are agenda and contact sync with Lotus Notes.
Due to security guidelines I'm not allowed to sync through a third party.
Oh, and at this time only Android and iOS are supported.
It never is a problem with the E72 since I can use Bluetooth to sync data using Nokia PC Suite.
The option is not available for the Lumia (WP8)...
I have searched the WWW for a solution but did not find any.
Awesync (goes through third party)
Companionlink (goes through third party or DejaOffice) and is almost as expensive as the amount I payed for the Lumia 620
Other tools I have found use a third party to sync.
And since I basically rely on a sync mechanism that does not use the company network, only a cable or BT connection is an option.
Does anyone know of such a tool?
It's the only barrier of using this great WP device and mo... Read more

Hi Satellite users,

I recently had a problem getting my Toshiba Satellite P50t-B running Windows 10 to detect (and hence connect) to my Sony MDR-XB50BS Bluetooth Headphones. The symptom of the problem was that the "MDR-XB50BS" device didn't appear in the list of available devices on the Windows Activity Centre "Connect" screen, nor in the Windows Settings -> Devices -> Bluetooth and other devices -> Add a device screen. Since the device never appeared, I couldn't connect to it.

The solution to the problem turned out to be upgrading my Toshiba Satellite BIOS from version 1.10 to BIOS version 1:50 available on the Drivers & Updates tab of the Toshiba Satellite Support site. The release notes mention a Bluetooth issue being corrected in version 1.40 and while I can't say for certain that this is the same issue I encountered, updating the BIOS was the last thing that I tried before the problem went away, and it's reasonable to expect that a relatively new technology like Bluetooth might have had early implementation bugs.

The other point to note is that if you've already paired the headphones with another device, like I had with my iPhone, then you have to hold the power button down for 7 seconds at power on in order to enter Bluetooth pairing mode first time you try to connect it to the Satellite.

I hope this helps someone someday!

Cheers,
Graham

Ok Just bought a 27" All in One Horizon Ideacentre. It has 2 source imputs 1 PC and 1 HDMI. I am using the HDMI imput with a cable box to watch tv on the unit as a Monitor or on the PC in Windows Media Center as I did with my previous Sony computer. The problem is when the PC display goes to sleep it automatically switches imput to the HDMI. I Have never had a computer, TV, or any device of that switched imputs automatically with out selecting the source manually. So I go to bed and get wokend up by the sound of TV in my office. This is either a design flaw or a setting problem that after 3 hours on the phone with tech support today could not be resolved. Any help out there. Thanks

Hi, Having an issue with a couple of the devices above, I have to set up a small number of them exactly the same so decided to create a master system and use Macrium Reflect to image it, then place those images onto the other machines. The problem is that the Wi-Fi, it will work if I disable and re-enable it in Device Manager but reports an Error 10 (The device cannot start) after every boot, the only way to get it to work is to disable then re-enable it. I have checked the driver version and it is the same as the master system, I've also tried to update the driver, and uninstall the Network Adapter including removing all drivers for it, when re-installed it works fine until the next boot, then the problem is back. As far as I am aware imaging a device should have no effect on installed drivers or hardware, so I am at a loss. Any help would be appreciated. Regards Fug

Answer:Wi-Fi Problem with Horizon 2s after imaging.

Hi Fugazi666 ,

Welcome to the Community Forums.

Can you try to go to the device manager and click on network adapters.
Left click the wireless card to choose and right click for properties.
Go to  power management tab , uncheck the box for power saving .
Go to the adavance tab and look for roaming aggresiveness / tendency to highest.
Apply and ok then restart abd check if any changes.

Lets see how that works.

Hi all, I just bought a Horizon 27 and it arrived yesterday. Since then I have upgraded the OS to Windows 10. Sadly there seems to be a problem with brightness not being adjustable. To be clear, I've done the following: 1. Updated the Intel driver (using their automatic update utility) to one that runs under Windows 10.2. Turned off automatic brightness via the power options.3. Checked to see if there were other options for a monitor on device manager (there was only the generic monitor option available).4. Deleted and reinstalled the device driver. Nothing seems to work. Any ideas, as if this isn't fixed I might have to see about getting a refund, which I'd obviously rather not have to do. Thanks!

we are trying to Bluetooth the HTC device to his Ford F150

Answer:How can I sync an HTC device Bluetooth to a Ford F150?

I missed the question here but I assume you want to know how to pair your car with your phone via bluetooth?
1. Make sure that the accessory or device you want to pair is turned on and in pairing mode, so your phone can connect to it.
2. On your phone go to Settings, tap Bluetooth, and then turn the Status to On.
3. Tap the name of the accessory or device that you want to pair with your phone.
4. If a PIN (also called a pairing code) is required, do one of the following:
-In the Pairing accessory message box, make sure that both the phone and the accessory or device display the same PIN, then tap OK.
-Enter the PIN for your accessory if you're asked for it, then tap Done.

Hello folks, I am quite new to Bluetooth and I need your collective help and assistance in sync'ing my contacts in MS Outlook with my SE T630.I have followed the steps outlined in the handbook to install. I also read through and followed the steps in Guides to setting up the WIDCOMM device configuration for sync'ing that I found on-line.All done, I activated the IrMC Sync and duly got the pop up box showing the process progress.. until nearer the end when I got the error message as below:"Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime LibraryRuntime Error!Program: C:\PROGRA~1\WIDCOMM\BLUETO~1\BTSTAC~1.EXE.This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way. Please contact the application's support team for more information."I had no other choice but to click on "OK" on the message and then "Cancel" on the pop-up box (as nothing was happening anyway). I then checked the phone and found that I had a list of names but these were not my MS Outlook contacts - they were from my OE address book! So I checked the config. again and yes I do have "Synchronize Microsoft Outlook" selected in PIM Synch. of both the Client and Local services. I checked my "Programs" tab in IE Internet Options to ensure my default E-Mail program was MS Outlook. Under the same tab in "Contacts" all that was available is "Address book". Don't know if this information is pertinent but better overkill on information than not enough...I guess...Since that error msg appeared, each time I have tried to sync ... Read more

I have a nokia 920 and I use Bluetooth in my car that pulls the data from my phone. The data is saved locally to the phone. (usually loads song name and artist)
I recently upgraded to windows 8.1 on my phone. Since then only about half my music data shows on my Bluetooth. I have tried using other music apps. I have tried comparing ID3 tags to the ones that do work and see no difference. I've tried removing songs and readding them.
I installed a tag editor and removed the tags and recreated them. The data still will not load on the Bluetooth. I am not going to reset back to defaults to fix this because this is my third issue with this device that would have caused me to do that. Anyone got anything that has worked to get the info to load in the Bluetooth? It's only some files doing it and I can find no correlation between ones that do allow it and ones that do not. I've even reripped some from cd's without any luck.

Answer:Why does only some song data sync over Bluetooth on Windows phone 8.1?

Is it possible that the music which is skipped is DRM protected music?
Below text is part of the below linked article.
Audio or video files that are DRM protected cannot be properly shared via Bluetooth connection. The files may be transferred and even stored in a phones xBox Music hub, but you wont be able to play them on the phone since the DRM protection on the file is not transferrable to a phone via Bluetooth sharing and the DRM protection will prevent the files from being played on the phone. DRM-related protections cannot be transferred or circumvented when sharing files via Bluetooth connection.

At first I thought I had a problem with my amplifier or dirty ac.  But when I plug in my tablet, phone, mp3 player, dvd player etc using the same cable there is no buzzing.  I have tried it on 3 other amps, same problem faint buzzing noise, even when running on battery and not run on a/c. I think i might have a bad sound card, ground issue, but it is strange that it works fine with headphones when it is not amplified from theheadphone jack.  The HDMI audio is also fine. Anyone else experiencing this with their Horizon?

Hi,

I really had not this 'Bluetooth connection' before.
But, I really don't know that pairing my Nokia Bluetooth with my HP Laptop Bluetooth would add this Bluetooth connection or NOT.
I really guess this Bluetooth Connection was listed there when I connected my Lapotp Bluetooh with Nokia Bluetooth.
Thus, I will really not have any problems if I deleted it. But I am asking you what benefit of that Bluetooth Connection.
This is below was not here:

Finally Could please let me know how to use this Bluetooth Connection.(How to benefit from it)? I really use an ADSL Internet subscription, and not Dial-up connection. Also, I am connected wirelessly to a Modem-Router. Thus, what password and username should I type in the fields in the above screen shot?

Answer:'Bluetooth connection' is shown in my Network Connection suddnly.

Pairing a mobile phone will create such an entry and there's nothing to worry about. I don't think you can use it to go online since as you said you are using ADSL and if you want to go online via your modem with your phone just use the wifi connection

Sometimes it does sync but frequently it won't.
One time I will plug in and it will sync and stay connected and continue syncing as long as necessary just like I assume it is supposed to.
Other times there is some initialization but no connection.
Sometimes it will disconnect after some time of syncing activity.
I have resorted to keeping an icon on my desktop to reinstall sync center and that will frequently initiate a sync but not always.
If I reboot the laptop the PDA is recognized but only as an external drive. Then when I do the Sync Center reinstall it will usually initialize and complete the sync.
I have run the entire gambit of rebooting the laptop, rebooting the PDA, plugging and unplugging, trying different USB ports and cables. Sometimes it works but a most of the time I just keep trying different things until I get a sync. I have occasionally considered trying bluetooth just to see if it would make any difference.

The other week, the internet connection stopped. Eventually i contacted the internet provider and discovered everything was fine at their end. So i contacted the router tech support (Linksys) and yup, that was the problem. They walked me through the reset and going to their website to change various options for the router. Then we tested one pc desktop that was wired and that worked. We tested my laptop that's wireless and that worked. We didn't work on the computer that was a floor down from the router because it was around 6am and I forgot.

So the next day i tried to connect the last desktop pc to wireless and just reentered the new password and security options. The wireless connection would connect for a second then disconnect then connect... and would never fully connect. Restarted the computer, unplugged the wireless adapter, all that jazz and redid everything... and that did not work either.

I called linksys back and the first tech support guy had me go back into the linksys webpage router panel and unclick some option. he then said he'd be right back and i was on hold for half an hour and then got cut off. I called back and the second tech support said they could not help since it was the wireless adapter problem (airlink adapter). I called again last night and got another lady and pushed the fact that the wireless adapter worked fine UNTIL the linksys router stopped working and we had to do the whole reset. So she walked me through the various wirele... Read more

As the title says, I need a firewall for our new 10Mbps(up/down) connection for work. I'd like to get something that could cover us in the $1K area, but if we need to spend more, I can most likely get what I need. What I'm wondering is if something basic like a Pix 506E will work. Judging by the specs, I should be ok, but I wanted to check here and see what everyones option is.

We will primarly be using the bandwidth to serve video, and I don't see it being used for VPN traffic. We might at some point increase data bandwidth, but it's not a concern to me now, because we will be getting all new equipment at that point.

Any other suggestions at firewalls to look at? I'm only familiar with Cisco Pix, so I haven't looked around into other options.

Just got myself a Samsung S3 over the weekend, and for the most part I love it! I've run into a few problems with it, mostly due to me coming from an iphone, and getting used to the new controls, apps, etc...

Anyway, I found an app that acts similar to iTunes called Kies, which allows me to sync my phone to my computer (running Win8), do backups and restores, etc...

The problem is that when I connect the phone my computer, it will occasionally deactivate my copy of Windows (which is legit, and I have the receipt from MS to prove it!). I click the button to activate it, and get an error message (which I can't recall at the moment). I looked it up online, and what I found shocked me...

Apparently there's something in the phone that is causing Win 8 to deactivate itself, and you cannot reactivate it unless you unplug the phone. So I unplugged the phone, and sure enough, I was able to reactivate Windows.

I have had to do this about 5 times so far, and not looking to have to keep doing this. Has anyone else run into this problem and been able to solve it permanently (without getting a new phone)?

I am trying to sync my mobile phone(Nokia) with my pc. I have the software and installed it but on first installation was asked to select a connection type. I selected Infrared, but later found that bluetooth is better, so bought a bluetooth dongle instead. I have installed the bluetooth correctly, but on starting Nokia software, I only have the option of infrared for initial connection before I can run the program for the first time. I tried uninstalling then re-installing the software, but have since found out that the software stores a file in the computer to "remember" the first connection method I selected. Therefore, even after system restore followed by re-installing the software, it still asks for an infrared connection. Can someone please tell me how to delete this/these files so I can start afresh using bluetooth because I don't want to buy infrared hardware just to start the program so I can switch to bluetooth!
Can someone please help a very frustrated numpty?!?!

Answer:Bluetooth connection PC to PC

Here is the step-by-step way to connect two laptops using Bluetooth.

Software and Hardware Requirements

In-built Bluetooth device on laptopBluetooth dongle (optional)Bluetooth drivers (optional)

Important - Since Bluetooth use short wave radio frequencies for data transfer, devices using radio waves should not be placed within 100 meter radius. Bluetooth signals weaken if the devices are placed more than 100 meters apart. Also before connecting the two laptops using Bluetooth, make sure that neither of the laptop is infected with any sort of virus or malicious program. They can easily get transferred from one laptop to another without your knowledge.

Step 1 ? Determine the Type of Bluetooth
The first step is to determine the type of Bluetooth device your laptop has. Refer user?s manual of your laptop to determine this. If it has inbuilt Bluetooth, proceed to step 3, else, proceed as follows:

Step 2 ? Install Bluetooth
Purchase a Bluetooth dongle from market (usually costs $10) and insert it in one of the USB ports. Windows XP or higher versions of Windows do not require any sort of driver installation, however, if it?s Windows 98, install the drivers. All types of Bluetooth also come bundled with control software, which should also be installed at this step.

Step 3 ? Switch on the Bluetooth
Switch on the Bluetooth of each laptop. A bright blue glowing light indicates that the Bluetooth has been switched on and ready for connectivity.

Step 4 ? Assign Status

Hey guys!

Just recently purchased the Big Jambox, and I want to connect it via bluetooth. I connected it to my phone and Ipod, but it won't connect to my computer? I am trying to install drivers, but I just can't find the right one. I have an ASUS G55VW, and I can't connect to it! Thanks.

Answer:Bluetooth Connection

Are you sure the laptop has Bluetooth? It's listed as an option on the Asus website and if it came with Bluetooth you shouldn't need to install any drivers as it would have come with them already installed from Asus.

You may be able to get the optional Bluetooth module from Asus or Ebay or where ever but it would probably be easier and less expensive to get one of the little USB Bluetooth dongles like this: IOGEAR GBU521 Bluetooth 4.0 Micro Adapter - Newegg.com

Evening One and all, I purchased a cheap laptop at the weekend, and ran a network cable downstairs to it to enable internet/e-mail and lan connection, after a couple of initials problems (resolved here of course :-) )this worked well with full net access plus access to the shared files on the three desktops.Today, it seemed that the opportunity to purchase a bluetooth setup at a discount cost was too much to resist. The access point is a Belkin (no specific model number), and the laptop connection unit is a Belkin usb adaptor. After the initial install, I could access the net via a 'BluetoothNullConnection' modem in the dial-up settings of IE. This is stable enough, but at 115kbps is maybe a little slow as it has a 600k connection available - still it works. The problem is that I cannot access the other pc's on the lan. The standard local area connection quite rightly states that the cable is missing, as did a bluetooth lan adaptor which also appeared. After an uninstall/reinstall, I again have the net access, but still not the lan access - and now the bluetooth lan adaptor is not there either. Given that I can see the router at the 'far end' of the network, can someone suggest how to take this a step further and see the other pc's?If I run the network wizard, the bluetooth adaptor is not available to select as the required connection. The laptop is running xp home, and the pc's xp pro. Also, the desktops are connected via cable to the router (Linksys BEFSR41) as are the cable ... Read more

Hi there, I have a T61p machine with Vista Ultimate, SP1. I have all the latest patches from Lenovo. I have a docking station that I use at my desk. When the machine is docked I used a Microsoft Intellimouse Explorer for Bluetooth and Keyboard Elite for Bluetooth. Ever since I purchaced this machine (about 3 months ago, with Vista Ultimate) I have been having the same issue. If I have not used the keyboard for sometime (say greater than 5 minutes) the first time I click any key on the keyboard, the machine partially hangs. It will continue to play video or do other non interactive tasks, but for the next 45 seconds to 1 minute, the machine will not accept input from the keyboard, and it won't accept input from the mouse. I previously used the same Bluetooth mouse and keyboard with a Dell laptop and had no such issues (in fact, I still own that laptop, and it still has no issues with this keyboard and mouse) What action should I take?

Answer:Bluetooth connection hangs

Hello, Are there any power management features enabled for the Bluetooth adapter or devices in the Device Manager?  If so, does disabling them solve the problem? Regards, Aryeh Goretsky

I have been trying to connect a laser measuring device (Leica Disto Plus-Bluetooth enabled) to my computer via a Belkin USB adapter. It doesn't want to connect and I get an error message which asks for a pairing PIN number. I am told by the suppliers of the Leica that it doesn't have a PIN and should connect without one. Can anyone help out?I am running Win XP.

Answer:Bluetooth connection problems

I don't know anything about your laser measuring device. But usually, for bluetooth devices, the first time you try to connect with the computer through the USB adapter, you need to "pair" them by inputting any combination of numbers (both on the computer, and on the external device). The set of numbers can be anything you want. It's just to make sure that you're connecting the right bluetooth device. If there's a keypad on the laser device, just enter any PIN, and do the same on the computer when prompted.

PC connected to Internet by cable.PC has Bluetooth Dongle.Notebook has bluetooth. Both XP.Have connected both via bluetooth.Configured Internet connection on PC to share it asked what to share it with chose bluetooth network. Can not access Internet through notebook?New toy no fun what have I done wrong?

Answer:Bluetooth and connection sharing

My experience with Windows XP was that it didn't recognise the Bluetooth PAN (Personal Area Network) as a valid LAN and therefore wouldn't allow me to enable Internet Connection Sharing on my Internet connection (which is an ethernet connection to a router).

I bought an i& desktop with BT keyboard & mouse. I've recently begun to lose connectivity with the keyboard.

I also upgraded to a Samsung SSD and I mention that as it is the reason I removed a lot of bloatware. Long story short, I call Sony and they cant help naturally except to send a new keyboard. The instrucitons tell me to use a file on C named wconnect.exe to enable pairing of the new keyboard.

And it's one of the files I cleaned out and Sony cant help except to tell me to do a factory restore to get it. I dont have the three days it would take.

Can anyone make any suggestions that would help ? Thanks.

Answer:Sony Bluetooth KBD Connection help

That right there would be reason enough for me to never buy another product from them again.
Using a ridiculous proprietary connection system without allowing the software to be downloaded separately.

On that note does it work at all?
Have you tried changing your power options to always on? (may help keep connection alive)

Hi - Not sure this is a networking issue but I don't see an obvious category. I've got a Vizio Model D50-D1 tv and wanted to add a Vizio 38"soundbar and woofer. I asked Vizio if my TV is Bluetooth compatible and got a silly answer that did not answer my question. My conclusion is that it does not have Bluetooth and so my question is whether there is an external device I can add to the TV that will allow me to pair it with the Bluetooth soundbar. I know that the small USB dongle to a computer does not work. However, are there other devices out there that might plug into the TV's USB or other port?

I have a pair of bluetooth wireless speakers Jam Plus.
I pair and get the message: "Setup Incomplete because of a metered connection." I did go to the section that allows me to turn this on or off. But neither option seems to work. I can pair one mono speaker but not both.
What do I need to know?

I'm using OptiPlex 3040; Win7 SP1 64 bit;
I'm trying to connect my BT headset (Beoplay H9) using the built-in Bluetooth, and every time I'm trying I get an error.
I've tried to get a BT dongle, connect it and got errors when trying to install the drivers.

I've tried a different computer (same model) and all worked perfectly.

How do I connect my phone to my CPU or can I? The Bluetooth icon is lit up but my phone doesnt see it? Help!

Answer:Bluetooth connection to my phone?

You're going to have to give a few more details. What computer model do you have? What bluetooth software installed? What phone do you have? which device has the icon lit up? There's a process to pair devices. As long as you have bluetooth enable and visible to both devices there's you should be able to start process whereby you give permission from one device to pair with the other.
