I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hello,

Has anyone ran into the Event ID in the Title?
(Event ID: 7026, Message: The Following boot-start or System-start Driver(s) failed to load: TMEBC)

The user is getting CHKDSK every time they boot up the machine and it fails within seconds of it starting.
I removed the Scheduled task under the AutoChk area in the Task Scheduler.

Anyone have anything on this driver or able to assist?

Briefly:
My old system hasn't been powered on for about a year. Problem was the onboard video failed (I think)

Recently replaced it with a video card from another system (riva TNT) and bought some memory (system wouldn't boot, determined that the memory was bad)

Now the system booted but win2K wouldn't work. No problem I have XP now...

After multiple error during the xp install I finally got through it...only the computer will only boot in safe mode..

Initially thought it was a hardare conflict so I booted in safe mode with networking and systematically cleared all the yellow ??? in device manager

Still will not boot normally

Checked event log got the following error:
Event 7026: The following boot-start or system-start drivers failed to load:

Amdk7
fips

Searched the net found a M$ support about it

http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=306458

couldn't find amdk7.sys but managed to update the driver over the net, now its there...yet I get the same error

I did the regedit described but no folder called "parameters"

Made one....didn't work....deleted the value
added the key to my available folder....didn't work

I'm at wits end....I've been working on this (off and on) for a month

Can anyone help with this one?????

Sorry if this has already been answered/wrong place. I looked at Google but thought I double check here (since the solutions via Google seem to be refering to a different OS to mine)

First of: Windows Vista, SP2, 64 bit.

Now sometimes (and not now since I am writing this) my Keyboard/Mouse just stops working. It freezes completely and I am unable to use it and am hence required to restart the computer. This happens at random occasions but it usually involves opening some program or what not (I noticed a prominent pattern that the mouse/keyboard freezes whenever I go to speedtest.com measure my speed and then once the download speed bar is finished and upload is about to begin my computer freezes).

I had a look at my event viewer and noticed this:

The following boot-start or system-start driver(s) failed to load:
i8042prt

Now I am not sure whether this appears at the start and then once I run a program or do something (like go on speedtest.com) the commuter then freezes (i.e. my mouse/keyboard is non-responsive) or the error message comes up after my computer freezes but any help in fixing this mouse/keyboard freezing would be very grateful.

The solution to fixing this problem I founds was to go to Registry editor and change the Start D word from 1 to 4 (but I noticed some saying to delete it completely and yet other sources to change it from 1 to 0 and yet even others to change something that I don't even have under that folder). If I was to tamper with the reg informa... Read more

If I was to tamper with the reg information, is it possible that I wont ever get access to my keyboard/mouse? My worry is that I might change some value so that I will have no way of getting to the computer with the keyboard/mouse (I am not good with bios) and would not be able to get help on the internet since I can't connect!

It is bad idea

DWORD Start may have following values

0 -boot ,1 -system ,2- auto ,3 -demand, 4 -disabled. Surly if you'll set to 4 you lose access to keyboard and mouse.Don't modify anything.Find folder C:\Windows\Minidump pack it and attache to post.If Minidump folder is empty use verifier tool to diagnose wrong drivers read here:http://www.vistax64.com/973966-post8.html

I recently had to install a new battery for my computer. After doing so I started having this problem and receiving the following Error from the "Service Control Manager" Event ID:7026   The following Boot-Start or System-Start driver(s)
failed to load: ppfd_vt_1_10_0_24    Param 1. The issues I am having are; Unable to completely "SHUT DOWN" unless I press the power button, this is after I have already selected the "shut down" option in the Start menu. Never
had to press the power button to power off my computer. Also, at "START-UP", I get as far as a black screen with a white flashing cursor in upper left-hand corner. At this point I am stuck, nothing takes me out of this state unless I press the "POWER"
button to shut-down. In order to start-up & Boot, I disconnect AC Adapter, remove battery, wait about 20 seconds, re-install battery, power adapter, and push power button. Now my computer is all good. Can anyone help me with this, I've researched for 2
weeks and am no where. Thanks for any help. My computer is quite old, 2010 Sept., but I'm hoping that I don't have to purchase a new one...(I'm a lil cheap) lol

Problem:
My Windows 7 Professional "Explorer" tree (not Internet Explorer) no longer lists my CD/DVD ROM DRIVE under the Device Manager/Drives. It used to.

I've checked the System Registry and it has lots of info about that ATAPI drive, but my system fails to find the "cdrom" driver (which is the one Windows 7 uses by default). It's not a 3rd-party driver.

The tray on my CD/DVD drive opens and closes properly. Windows just won't recognize the drive, so I can't use it.

I'm hoping someone can offer a 'manual' solution to get it working again. I do not want to spend a month to reinstall my OS and tons of hard-to-configure software. I've read countless other posts and solutions, both here and on MS's sites. The info on MS's sites is not even understandable. It's too vague and often doesn't even apply to my situation.

I got the following error: The following boot-start or system-start driver(s) failed to load: BANTExt

What is it?

I googled BANTExt and found out it's BelArc Advisor. Is it true?

How do I stop this error?

Answer:The following boot-start or system-start driver(s) failed to load: BANTExt

Yes, BANText.sys is the Belarc Advisor system driver file.It is started automatically from a Run, RunOnce, RunServices, or RunServicesOnce entry in the registry everytime Windows starts. To prevent the error you would need to find and remove that entry in the registry.

Guys, I'm running Windows XP and recently when I turn on my PC it makes a single beeb and then seems to run OK.

Tonight, I was running Firefox and the system seemed to slow, before becoming completely unresponsive. I had Task Manager open at the time, however when I tried to shut Firefox down the PC started bleeping like mad and I was forced to do a hard shut down.

I waited about 1 minute and then rebooted and immedietly went into the Error log and found the following entry:

"The following boot-start or system-start driver(s) failed to load: StarOpen"

I tried Googling a fix with no luck and I can't find StarOpen in the Services, Apps or Program files. Nor could I find it listed in the Device Manager or the Boot-start list in msconfig.

Can anyone tell me how to fix this?

hi,

I am currently making a device specific module for microsoft MPIO. I have successfully installed the mpio and my own DSM. However, during start-up, an error message comes out saying: "At least one service or driver failed during system startup. Use Event Viewer to examine the event log for details."

When I checked the event log, it says:

The following boot-start or system-start driver failed to load: TrailNavi

TrailNavi is the name of the device specific module that i am making. I am currently using a 32bit server with Windows 2003 OS.

I am trying to test my DSM, but could not do so because the driver can't be loaded..

Any help would be great..

Hello,

Can someone please help me find out what driver or service 'ksop' is? Or, how to fix it?

I've been troubleshooting my Windows 7 laptop to try and find the cause of random, sudden shutdowns and a bunch of 7026 and 7001 errors. This 'ksop' error pops up every time I reboot.

I tried clean-booting, SFC, CHKDSK, etc, but I can't narrow down a service as the culprit. I tried Googling 'ksop' but I couldn't find anything that explained what it was, or a record of anyone else asking about this issue.

Anyone out there have any idea?

Any ideas what this could be related to or what is causing it?

I'm not sure where to even begin to fix these problems. Some online searches suggested doing a system repair but I want to get some more feedback here before proceeding.

Here is the message from the event log:

cmdGuard
cmdHlp

DfsC

vwififlt

I realized some of these are not Windows 7 related but most are. While the computer "works", I do experience frequent reboots and freezes. Perhaps some of these driver loading failures are part of the cause of my issues. I do have another recent thread here regarding system crashes so I'll leave that alone in this post.

TIA

Answer:the following boot start or system start drivers failed to load

Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7, or a Repair Install would a better first option.

You will have to reinstall the third-party drivers again yourself from their website.

Hope this helps,

Hi all.

My pc has been hanging randomly and I have to use the power button to shut down/restart.

I've checked in events and there is this error which seems to be causing the problem as the time matches with the hang time.

I posted another topic with another bsod issue in the bsod section, and I was told to run some tests.

A day or so ago, I tried and changed Driver Verifier settings as were instructed in one of the threads here which also mentions that it is an iffy thing to do.

Anyway, I lost windows and could not start again, luckily I had a backup made, and after formatting my HD, loaded it on to it. This error seems to be a driver issue (Screenshot).

Should I go down the Driver Verifier route again ? To be honest I don't want to. If I lose windows again it would be very frustrating.

I've run the following tests so far here

I have no driver issues showing up in Device Manager, so that looks ok.

Please advise. Thank you.

Answer:The following system start driver(s) failed to load: mbmiodrvr

I looked around and found a reference to Mother Board Monitor which at least sounds like it might be the culprit.

Do you have that application installed, or some other temperature / fan speed monitoring sw?

Alex Van Kaam, the author of Mother Board Monitor, stopped development in 2004 citing his frustration getting technical information from mfgrs.

Anyway, if you have Mother Board Monitor installed, remove it. If you have other monitoring sw, post what you have and someone might know more about that sw (MBM source used?)

Slow booting.  Really slow booting.  Seems that using an SD card for ReadyBoot/ReadyBoost is causing the issue.  But why?
On investigation, this only started happening back in November, which coincides with the install of KB2685813 UMDF 1.11 (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2685813).
Could be a bit buggy....

I'll uninstall the update and see if this solves the issue.

Hmm.  Now that is interesting.
In my System event log I was getting an NTFS error (57: Failed to flush tlog).  I didn't think it was from my HDD, so using diskpart, I ran a 'CLEAN ALL' on my SD card, then recreated the FS as exFAT (previously it was NTFS).
Seems to be working now, although I'm getting VDS Basic Provider errors (Unexpected failure.  Error code:
[email protected]) "which can be safely ignored" (re: KB979391).
This begs the question: if it can be safely ignored, why is it raised in the first place?
Boot time is also restored to an acceptable timescale.

The following boot-start or system start drivers failed (how to remove) or find what is calling these items.

firstly, I uninstalled avg last year, it did not uninstall properly, so I used their uninstall tool, which decided everything on that drive was avg program and started deleting all my installed programs ,I was watching it happen in front of my eyes and couldnt believe it, IT TOOK ME AGES TO REINSTALL EVERYTHING.

anyways, so far as to my knowledge I have removed all traces of avg (EVIL PROGRAM) from my system including avg entries on registry.

but, in event viewer (administrative events) I see an error
"The following boot-start or system start drivers failed "
Avgdiska
AVGIDSDriver
AVGIDSHA
Avgldx64
Avgloga
Avgmfx64
Avgrkx64
Avgtdia
Avguniva

What is still calling these to be loaded and how can I remove them/solve this error

Windows 8.1 Pro x64 - please find the complete system log warning details below and a (related or not?) disk controller error below.  Motherboard is an ASRock B75 Pro 3 with an Intel B75 Chipset.
I keep getting these warnings.  I get them for all my Windows Portable Devices (disk drives) on boot up.  Here are my disks:

Disk 1 on internal SATA 3 connector off the B75 chipset on motherboard (internal drive, not enumerated as removable - gives no warnings or errors - Seagate ST100DM003-1CH162 C: system drive (has Windows 8.1 OS on it)

Windows 7 64-bit SP15

My Dell Latitude e6420 is having problems as of the past week. An error comes up on every reboot or startup of my machine. The "Failed to Start System Event Notification Service" error would come up on my screen down in the taskbar. Details below of startup:Laptop comes up slow.
Login and once desktop shows that error appears on my screen and sometimes my audio service isn't working (but it can't be the the driver for my video/audio card because sometimes it works and other things will crash meaning a corruption of some system driver.)
Takes 5-10 minutes for machine to fully boot.
Look at event log and shows Event ID Error 7026 every reboot.
I cannot find a fix for this error and nothing seems to be working. Please help with any information. Thanks.

Answer:Failed to Start System Event Notification Service

Windows Server 2008: Event ID 7026 this article just says what you are thinking seems to be correct. have you looked in device manager to see if there are any warning signs in there?
when your in event viewer, isn't there a link with the error that gives some help?

I have a Toshiba satellite laptop model 1955, running Windows XP Home with sp2 and all the updates. Whenever I start up Windows I get an error under the Event Viewer.

It says under System:

The following boot-start or system-start driver(s) failed to load:
PptIRDA

The source is Service Control Manager and the event ID is 7026.

I have Norton Antivirus running all the time and it says I am virus-free. I also have their Internet Security package and use their firewall. I have run Spybot Search and Destroy as well as Ad-Aware and seem to have no spyware that can be detected by those programs. I also periodically run Norton SystemWorks and their one button checkup. I generally run CrapCleaner every day. I have recently run the disk optimizer in Norton, and am quite defragmented.

This problem has been going on for months. My suspicion is that this might be some kind of remote data access thing, but I can't find a driver with this name when I list all the drivers. Another possibility I guess might be a driver for the infrared port, if such exists.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
joemiller

Answer:Boot Start Or System Start Driver Failure

My personal feelings are along the same lines as you. I think your Infrared port drivers are corrupt for whatever reason. I would contact Toshiba for the drivers and reinstall them. See if they are available on the web. I checked this link: http://www.csd.toshiba.com/cgi-bin/tais/su/su_sc_modSel.jsp and found that the model you say 1955 has sub models S801 through S807. So you need a more definitive model number.

Please try using this to repair the broken registry entry that may be causing this.Download Autoruns, search for the related entry and then delete it.Create a new folder on your hard drive called AutoRuns (C:\AutoRuns) and extract (unzip) the file there. (click HERE if you're not sure how to do this.)Open the folder and double-click on autoruns.exe to launch it.Please be patient as it scans and populates the entries. When done scanning, it will say Ready at the bottom.Scroll through the list and look for a startup entry related to the file(s) in the error message.Right-click on the entry and choose delete.Reboot your computer and see if the startup error returns.

Hello and Happy New Year!I'm having a wee bit of trouble with my Windows XP system and I'm hoping this particular problem will be an easy one to solve. (My unit: Dell XPS 600)Beginning in early November my computer began crashing. When checking my 'Event Log' there is an ERROR log around this time (or leading up to each crash) that reads:Source: Service Control ManagerCategory: NoneEven ID: 7026Description: The following boot-start or system-start driver(s) failed to load: LbdnvraidTo make a long story sort of short, for the last two weeks I've been trying to research and troubleshoot the BSOD problems, which first lead me to a possible driver failure associated with my printer after sending the error report to Microsoft. I updated this and included many other "optional" updates to hardware and software. Soon after, I received new BSOD error messages, which led me to discover RAM failure using Microsoft Memory Diagnostics. I'm not certain that this problem was always the problem or was a result of the hardware/software driver failure the first BSOD screens pointed me to. I have since replaced both modules (going from 2 - 512modules to an upgrade of 2G). Now I currently do NOT have any BSOD problems (this is only day two) BUT now that I'm paying closer attention to the Event Log (because I'm not certain this fixed my bigger problem), I have noticed that the original ERROR is still occurring with each boot up.I'm concerned that ... Lbd.sys is a Lavasoft Ad-Aware driver, while nvraid.sys is an nvidia raid driver.FWIW: If you adjust your viewing options, you can see the full file name, rather than just the first portion of it...as is reflected on your original post. Doing so makes it a lot easier to figure out what file is being referenced, since various types of files may possibly have the same initial portion of a given filename.http://www.fileinfo.com/help/windows-show-extensions.htmlThe error message either relates to installed drivers which need to be replaced...or they relate to items which have been removed from yur system but which have startup pointers. If Ad-Aware is currently installed...I suggest that you uninstall it...then reinstall it with a more current version from the Lavasoft website. If Ad-Aware is not currently installed...download/install AutoRuns for Windows - http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinte...s/bb963902.aspx. Take a look at the Logon tab only.If you see anything on the list that relates to Ad-Aware or Lavasoft...disable it by removing the check mark. The nvraid.sys driver...are you running a RAID configuration?FWIW: I have an nVidia chipset on this system, but I don't have a nvraid.sys file installed and I don't use the RAID capability of the motherboard. So I would check the BIOS to see how yours is set up.LouisEdited to remove unintended comment.

This problem seems to have started after installing a new 250 GB Toshiba hard drive on my HP Compaq nx6325 Notebook running XP Pro SP3 (I used Casper 6.0 to clone the drive). I keep getting this boot error in the System Log.

Microsoft is typically opaque as to a solution.

When I show hidden devices in Device Manager, all the above drivers, plus PartMgr, have an exclamation mark against them. All these drivers are shown as stopped and have the Startup Type set as ‘Boot’.

Whatever is happening, the system seems to be running fine. I did a forum search which threw up the following topic, which has a link to what may be a solution, but the link is invalid!!!

http://forums.techguy.org/windows-xp/491858-solved-system-event-log-questions.html

My solution would be to change the driver attributes from ‘Boot’ to ‘On Demand’ – is this safe?

I tried the "fix" suggested in another thread (change the service "Windows Driver Foundation" to Automatic from Manual) and it works for awhile. However, I have made the change several times since the Event Warning comes back after a few days. Anybody got a way to make the "Automatic" stick. Windows 8.1 seems to have a need make it "Manual"!

It should be set to manual w/trigger so that is not the solution to your issue (whatever that is):

When I shutdown or restart I find the following system error in Event Viewer:
Source: Service Control Manager
Error Event ID 7026
Description: The following boot-start or system-start driver(s) failed to load: Kl1.

This has been happening for a long time I think. I have not worried about it because everything seems to work OK. I have read forums and gone to Google. Seems to be related to Kaspersky, maybe something to do with Zone Alarm, or both.
This probably is not a major problem, but I would appreciate help resolving it. I may have at some time in the past downloaded Kaspersky AV and uninstalled (not sure). Maybe something left over? Can't find anything using Search.

Windows XP SP2
Zone Alarm Free firewall--WinPatrol--Prevx2--AVG Antivirus--Spybot S&D--SuperAntispyware--Spyware Blaster--Ad-Aware 2007.
Thanks, Beav

I should have added: When going to Compaq help and support center I get the following.
EXPLANATION: The specified drivers did not load correctly. The driver might not be in the expected location.
USER ACTION:
1. Verify that the drivers are configured correctly.
2.Verify that the computer is running the most current version of the drivers.
Also in the Details, a Version 5.0 and a version 5.2 are mentioned.

Hope this helps.

Answer:Event Viewer System Error #7026

Take a look: http://www.file.net/process/kl1.sys.htmlGenerally speaking...if the file is not in the location specified in the above link, it probably is malware.I suggest reinstalling Kasperky...and then uninstalling it properly via Add/Remove Programs...as the initial attempt to remove this.Another possibility is that the file has been removed but there still remains a pointer in your startup items which is looking for the missing file. If that is the case, you can use a tool like AutoRuns for Windows v8.73 - http://www.microsoft.com/technet/sysintern...s/AutoRuns.mspx to disable or remove the marker from your list of startup items. If using the above tool, just look on the tab marked Logons (which reflects startup items), rather than the general tab reflecting all processes and startup items.Louis

I am attaching a screen shot of the Kernel-PnP Event 219 that suggests that a device driver is failing to load at start up. I have been receiving this message for about three weeks and can't relate it to any particular event on my computer. I have trawled the net and had a look at Device Manager but I can't ascertain which driver is not loading and presumably needs to be updated.

I downloaded some software called "Driver Manager" and that has identified 28 out of date drivers. To correct the problem I have to pay a subscription that I can not really afford. Can someone help me identify which driver is causing the problem please?

Answer:Kernel-PnP Event ID 219 Driver failed to load problem.

Judesman, I don't recommend paying a subscription as you can get the drivers yourself. That seems to be a plug n play device, look ath the user action section in this link Kernel ID 219

I've got a dual-boot system with Ubuntu 12.04 and Windows 7 Ultimate x64. When I boot up, the first screen I see is the Grub menu. If I choose Windows, then I go through Windows boot menu, although I have it set not to display anything because I now have only one copy of Windows on the machine - I had two copies of Win 7 Ultimate before I decided to remove one and go with Ubuntu instead. So normally Windows would boot up. That does happen most of the time, but occasionally - maybe once in 25 or so boots, Windows starts to boot, then the system reboots, and I get back into Grub. I then select Windows again, and I get the message "Windows failed to start" and a list of options. I choose Start Windows Normally, and it boots up and runs fine.
I don't see anything in Event Viewer that would suggest a HDD problem, I have run many tests on drive, memory, and CPU and all PASS.
I ran "sfc /scannow", and it reports no problems. I have run CHKDSK, and again, no problems.

I have been having this problem for a while, long before I installed Ubuntu, so I cannot blame it for corrupting anything.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Okay, so this just happened out of nowhere. Nothing seems to have led up to this -- the system booted and shut down successfully, and no software updates or installs were done during the period of time it was on when it was last working. I've attempted many things, but none seem to work. /ScanOs reports no OS detected, while startup repair said the OS was booted successfully. bcdedit also shows no directories linked to "unknown". CHKDSK reports no bad sectors, so such can be discarded. This happens every time I attempt to boot to Windows 7 (Home Edition, x64). I have a copy of Fedora 17 set to dualboot with it, but it hadn't been booted for over a week before the event. Any suggestions?

Hi,

How can one repair or load the netbt.sys driver?

It seems that after an automatic Windows Update the netbt.sys
driver ceased to load. From that day mapping network drives
on an Windows 2000 PC stopped to work. The Win7 PC is also
invisible on the Windows network. Internet and Ping works though.

Strange thing is that System File Check (SFC) reports everything fine.

As a consequence the "TCP/IP-NetBIOS" Helper Service also fails to load.

Any hints would be highly appreciated.

Anyone having an idea?

I have an older version of netbt.sys from a backup, but so far I could not find a method to re-install it.

What would be the standard procedure to be able to override netbt.sys with an older version?

Hello there I am new here but I have this event viewer ERROR.

The IOMap service failed to start due to the following error:
The system cannot find the file specified. Event ID 7000

My PC SPECS:

MB: Asus P9X99 Deluxe II
CPU: Intel I7 6950X
GPU: Titan X Pascal
PSU: Corsair 1200i
RAM: Corsair DDR 4 128GB

OS: Windows 10 PRO 64bit

I do not even know if you need these PC specs to solve this problem but I am giving them anyways.

I also use a switch and a synology NAS. I think that is about it.

I would be very very greatfull if anyone could help me to solve this error. I am not very advanced in these things so if you could be very specific that would be great.

Welcome to the TenForums @Romas

Could you post the message you get. The important element is the file name and location that Windows is using.

When the meassge appears use ALt + Prt Screen to capture. Paste into Paint, save and post.

If you could do the same with the info related to this even t in Event Viewer.

hi guys,
well i was installing an automatic update for windows overnight, then came back, my computer had restarted and the update hadnt been completed.
anyway when i tried to complete the update it kept stopping saying it couldnt be completed.
so that was that, but then my comptuer started going nuts.
i uninstalled XP service pack 2 to try and sort it out (ive had some problems since getting SP2), so it uninstalled it fine, and restarted in safe mode.

now i have a problem when im rebooting and logging onto desktop, im getting the desktop display picture(background picture), and then no explorer load up.
i try and run explorer.exe and i get the message:
'could not load event logger'

im also getting the repeated message 'windows has finished installing the software for your new devices, you must restart for the ..blah blah'.
when i uninstalled SP2 and it restarted in safe mode it went through announcing all my 'newly installed' hardware devices like ati card, modem, disk drives etc...
anyway so now i cant load windows and i want to back up some stuff and maybe just reformat or reinstall windows.

please help me out. and DAMN SERVICE PACK 2!!
lol.
thanks.

Answer:'Could Not load event logger' XP start up problem

ill add that i cannot access safe mode either because it loads up,then gives me the option of continue to safe mode or choose the recovery option, i click continue to safe mode and it just sits there.
then if i press alt cntrl delete it does the same 'event logger' message.

realy weird.
i just want to back up a few things then reinstall windows but i cant even get into safe mode

OK Now this is getting very annoying. Apparently this problem has been going on for a long time (Since 05/23/05) but so infrequently that I haven't realized it. And no, I don't remember what I might have down then to start this problem.

Now I'm getting the BSOD at least once a day. The last time I wrote down the text and it listed the following "DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL

When I look into the event view the error lists the source as the Service Control Manager. The detailed description states:

"The USB SECURITY DEVICE service failed to start due to the following error:
The service cannot be started, either because it is disabled or because it has no enabled devices associated with it. "

I have no idea what might have started this but I do know that it suddenly got much worse after I replaced my power supply. (The Fan Died and I shut down gracefully as soon as I got the first wiff or burnt electronics.) All has worked fine since then except for the increased Frequency of this BSOD.

I'll add my full system specs as soon as I get them from the everest pgm I just downloaded.

Answer:BSOD-Event Vwr points to SCM & USB SECURITY DEVICE service failed to start

Hi GScooter,

I've investigate your minidumps and it is faulty ram. You can run memtest to stress the ram. If memtest reports the ram is faulty, ram is bad. However Memtest is not a perfect tool to test the memory as some faulty can pass memtest.

Suggestion
1. Reseat the memory stick to another memory slot
2. Downclock the ram
3. Clean the inside the computer case
4. Make sure that the ram is compatible to the motherboard
If it still crashes, diagnostic which memory stick is faulty
1. Take out one memory stick. If windows does not crash, the removed memory stick is faulty.
2. If you have only one memory stick, replace the ram

My Windows XP (SP-2) suddenly crashes without warning from 20 - 50 minutes after booting up. The "Events and Errors Message" states:

Event I.D. = 7026
Source = Service Control Manager
Version = 5.0
Component = System Event Log
Symbolic Name = EVENT_BOOT_SYSTEM_DRIVERS_FAILED
Message = The following boot-start or system start drivers failed to load:

ersd
esft

The system error codes reported on the "blue screen" are:

Error code 10000df, parameter 1 00000008, parameter 2 80042000, parameter 3 300000000, parameter 4 0000000.

I ran CHKDSK and no problems were reported. I then ran Windows Upgrade Advisor and there were no problems with my system, devices, or programs. My anti-virus software is BitDefender 9 and I also run Spy Sweeper, Spybot, and Ad-Ware SE. None of these reported any problems. My graphics card, sound card, and other peripherals do not have any new drivers. I ran the registry cleaning software ErrorSmart and it did not pick up any driver or other conflicts which could cause a crash. I recently defragged the hard drive so I assume the above drivers are in the most appropriate location. The system crashes continue.

Any advice to solve the above driver problem and crashes would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,

I posted this annoying problem on the MS community but I think only useless moderators are running that forum, hopefully that is not the case here.

I am using win7 64 bit and recently my machine can no longer hibernate for a second time after a clean boot (after a clean boot it can hibernate but then it cannot after a resume). I noticed Event 45 in the event viewer and it does not make any sense. I tried to hibernate from the command line but I am getting a message "not enough storage is available to process this command.(8)". When the hibernation fails I got back to the login screen (as if I locked the station).

It is an annoying problem since I have to restart the PC every other day, so if anyone smart enough to give some insights, I would be grateful.

Hi. My Dell Studio 17 shut down yesterday after sitting idle. Now i cannot boot windows. I get this endless loop that ultimately leads me to startup repair which either hangs or errors out. Attempting to start in safe mode takes me to same place.
I know the root of the problem is bsod as I see it flash when attempting to load windows.f
I was able to launch system restore tool from advanced options (f8) but after selecting restore point the cpu seems to hang after over an hour of Initalizing.
I can bring up command prompt by the way.
I don't believe I have any installation disks from time of purchase. Please help! Thank you.

Answer:Cant load windows:Win failed to start ---->bsod bad_sys_config_info

You will need a Windows 7 repair disc or you can use the Advanced Boot Options to get to the System Recovery Options.

Then try the steps in Startup Repair Infinite Loop Recovery. Note the warning:

Hey. I'm just gonna copy this post I made elsewhere. I think it about follows what you guys want in a problem post. I tried to search if it was answered already, but your search wasnt working, so I gave up. Thanks in advance.

My computer recently had a bit of a meltdown and I ended up playing around a little in the Recovery Console and running a chkdsk. I also attempted to copy a file on my desktop to an external hard drive from RC but found out I couldnt and gave up.The check disk fixed a little bit (namely an error that my computer could not start because C:\Windows\system32\config\system was deleted or corrupt or something).

My computer now starts up, but when it does, I get these problems:

"1. all the icons on my desktop looks weird, and everything that's not on my desktop has no icon whatsoever

2. The "Start" button on the status bar is gone, so I cannot click "Start", then choose "Admin Tools" to do a system restore.

3. If I need to turn off the computer, I have to press the power off button because again the Start button has disappeared, also I cannot use the task manager even if I press "alt-ctl-del"."

4. When I start up my computer, I get a "failed to load dll" error.

5. I can start some programs, and peripheral devices work, but not exactly right (I have to access them from My Computer)

Hi

It seems to be a Toshiba US notebook series and therefore the recovery process might be different as on Toshiba European notebooks?

However, the recovery procedure should be mention in user manual. Check this?

Try firstly this:
Power up the unit and press F8.
Then choose ?Safe Mode? and try to boot the Windows in safe mode.
If it does not work, try Repair the Computer option.

I think the notebook should be equipped with HDD recovery. This means that you could recover the unit without the usage of the recovery disk.

As mentioned this is US notebook series and as far as I know you have to press 0 button immediately after the notebook has been powered up.
This should start the recovery?

I have a few questions:
1. Do you have a repair disc?
2. If not, does the PC have a recovery partition?
3. Can you boot from a live CD (such as Puppy Linux)?
4. What were you doing before the problem started?

Hi everybody,

This is my first post on this forum. I've recently come across a problem with my computer. I'm running Windows Vista 32 bit. I shut the computer down one day, and the next day turning it on I came across this problem.

File: \Windows\System32\Drivers\nqgbwc.sys

Status: 0xc0000225

Info: Windows failed to load because a critical system driver is missing, or corrupt.

I have no clue what this means. It said insert windows installation disc and repair computer. I did this, self repair found nothing. I then tried system restore and it could not initialize which is a pain in the ass. My last resort is to reinstall windows vista but I think I'm going to lose everything.

If anyone has any advice or suggestions it would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,
Kevin

Answer:Windows failed to load because a critical system driver is missing, or corrupt.

First see if you can boot into Safemode without it giving you that error. If you can, first try searching for that driver to see if its even in your system32 folder.

I recently just checked my computer and it is not in mine by default, which means its a file relating to a third party program/app that has been installed on your machine. If you can figure out what the abbreviation for NQGBWC is from the list of installed applications on your computer, then you can isolate which program on startup is causing the failure on booting windows due to the missing system file.

As you may have already tried, i cannot simply google search nqgbwc.sys as it gives me just THIS post only. If you cannot find the problem, then the only thing possible from there is to reinstall your OS but of course BACK UP EVERYTHING IMPORTANT FIRST.

Please let us know which notebook model do you have exactly.
Anyway, there are no 10 different drivers and now you must choose the right one.
The right driver for your notebook model you can find on Toshiba support page under http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com > Support & Download.

Just choose the right model.

Good morning,

I've been trying to solve this error for quite some time and have hit a brick wall. I cannot find any information about this driver (or whatever it is) any where online. This error appears with every boot/start-up and even after clean install or repair.

This is the error in event viewer.

The following boot-start or system-start driver(s) failed to load: aoxmkg
I've narrowed it down to this location in registry:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > System > ControlSet001 > Enum> Root> LEGACY_AOXMKG > 0000

Inside there are these keys:

(Default) REG_SZ (value not set)
Capabilities REG_DWORD 0X00000000 (0)
Class REG_SZ LegacyDriver
ClassGUID REG_SZ
ConfigFlags REG_DWORD 0X00000000 (0)
DeviceDesc REG_SZ aoxmkg
LEGACY REG_DWORD 0X00000001 (1)
Service REG_SZ aoxmkg

I'm curious about identifying this since it seems to appear after clean ... Read more

Question: Event ID: 7026

My Windows XP system is failing to boot up properly and keeps giving me the black screen and asking if I want to go to Safe Mode or load previous good configuration etc. This is happening nearly daily now!

I checked Event log and it shows the following:

Details
Product: Windows Operating System
Event ID: 7026
Source: Service Control Manager
Version: 5.0
Component: System Event Log
Symbolic Name: EVENT_BOOT_SYSTEM_DRIVERS_FAILED
Message: The following boot-start or system-start driver(s) failed to load:
szkg

I have no idea what szkg is!

Any ideas on how to fix this as it's driving me mad?

Thanks,

Mike

Answer:Event ID: 7026

Hi mate

szkg is a Stopzilla file.
Run MSConfig to remove it from startup and then remove/uninstall it.
If you have further difficulties, post up and let us know.

Cheers

I'm not sure what caused it, but 1 day ago I installed windows 7 on a separate hard drive. But I'm pretty sure that's not what causing it to happen. So if any of you people here have any idea of whats up, please let me know.

Thanks!

Answer:Event ID 7026 HELP!!

I also have Windows 7 on a separate, connected drive...and that's not the problem.Win 7 uses a different bootloader than XP, so you should be presented with a screen requiring you to select an operating system you want entrance to...when you boot the system. The XP boot files have no reference to Win 7 and have been superseded by the Win 7 boot files. If all those files failed to load...how did you get into XP...and what Event Viewer are you looking at?What is the Source listed for the Event Viewer item?FWIW: http://www.eventid.net/display.asp?eventid...ger&phase=1Louis

Dunno if this is the right place for this type of prblem, I dont know much at all about this stuff. I tried searching around but I only found stuff about this with different drivers.

My problem is I just rebooted my pc yesterday, and after logging into windows and getting to the desktop, there was ared msg that popped up from avast antivirus saying it couldnt update or something, then it my pc rebooted, ever since after I logged into windows there was a sound like you hear when you get an error message, then my pc rebooted or crashed, and it keeps happening, I used safe mode and looked at the event viewer and it says:

The following boot-start or system-start driver(s) failed to load:
Aavmker4
FileDisk
Fips
NPPTNT
Processor

I went to the link it says to goto for more information but it only says to verify you have the latest drivers and stuff, i'm not sure how to do that or even what drivers I have..

My main concern is, is this a something that can be fixed, or can it be a hardware problem and my pc is just screwed, its pretty old though, like 5 years or so, never had any problems like this before :x.

Answer:start driver fail to load

a search on this listed that many causes it made your head swim
boot into the recovery console and run first
chkdsk /r
then try

it could be virus or malware related if the above does not work do the five steps

Hi All, I am trying to update IBM Update Connector to System Update on my A30 2651 3WG I have tried uninstalling System update and reinstalling it several times but each time I get the message:- System Update could not start properly  After I uninstall System Update when I run systemupdate314-2009-6-12.exe to load system update it detects a version of IBM Update Connector or System Update and offers to delete it.  However an error occurs  and  I am told to delete the files manually. Can anyone suggest where these files might be or if there is some other problem. Regards Roger

Answer:System Update failed to start

Roger, welcome to the forum,

As the Update Connector doesn't show up in Control Panel - Software, run the SetUp file in C:\IBMTOOLS\APPS\Updater, it should offer you the option of uninstalling it.

Hope this helps

Guys, I need some help. I am using an original version of the windows 7. And recently ( I really don't know what happened) my PC won't start normally. It also says that windows Start-up repair can't fix the problem. What should I do ( I don't want to reformat cause I lost my windows 7 installer ).

Answer:Failed to run the operating system during start up

Start with the steps for Troubleshooting Windows 7 Failure to Boot and post back if you need help as you do those steps.

I have a Vostro 1400 laptop that is about a year and a half old. It was working great until the other day. While surfing the net the screen went blank like i had turned it off (but there was still power to it). I rebooted and got a message that the operating system failed to start. No matter how many times I reboot....I get this message. I know next to nothing about the operating system. I was told by a friend that he thought the hard drive my be out. How can I tell if it is?

log properly posted here.http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/t/507105/windows-7-failed-to-start-startuprepair-offline-bad-driver/Now that your log is properly posted, you should NOT make further changes to your computer (install/uninstall programs, use special fix tools, delete files, edit the registry, etc) unless advised by a Malware Removal Team member, nor should you continue to ask for help elsewhere. Doing so can result in system changes which may not show it the log you already posted. Further, any modifications you make on your own may cause confusion for the helper assisting you and could complicate the malware removal process which would extend the time it takes to clean your computer. From this point on the Malware Removal Team should be the only members that you take advice from, until they have verified your log as clean. Please be patient. Microsoft?? Intel?? Dell??

Answer:Intel HD Graphics 530 Display driver failed to start

Code 43 is usually a driver issue.
I had that driver, and the Win 10 Fall update and was working OK, but just recently (Wednesday) ran the Intel updater and got a later driver version.  22.20.16.4815
uninstall the current Intel driver, restart the PC and when Windows starts it "should" detect and install the driver.  If that doesn't work reinstall the Intel Motherboard Chipset Drivers (Intel Chipset Device Software as listed on Dell downloads) and then run the Intel updater again.
Here is the link to the Dell downloads and Intel chipset drivers.

Searching the site found no results for me with reference to my titled issue. Several years old desktop with an intel DG33FB mobo, Dual Core 2.53 P4 Wolfdale CPU, 8192MB DDR2 RAM and XP SP3 OS. Wireless connect via Linkys WUSB600N to Linksys router. Local area connection disabled. No internal dust buildup. File System kept "clean" with CCleaner, McAfee AV, Max Registry Cleaner, Max Spyware Detector, Adaware, and Malware bytes, on a regular basis. Hard drive not in need of defragmenting. Computer resides in an air conditioned environment away from any high energy equipment. 3 recent issues that have been occurring for the past 3 months that are not absolutely critical, but extremely annoying. 1. Boot up is slow. Seems to pause several times for up to 2 minutes before completing the boot. Then runs normally. 2. When a CD/BD drive is opened, internet connectivity is lost for a few seconds until reacquired after notifications. 3. When running a processor intensive program, unattended, for several hours, I find that the computer has rebooted itself prior to my return. I have checked for loose connections, reset the RAM modules, ran memory and hard drive tests, all OK. Heat sinks in place and all fans operational. CPU cooling fan is set for "agressive" in BIOS. Looking at the event log I find a suspicious series of errors occurring more often than I think it should. I can think of no way better than to attach a series of jpegs to depict this series of errors for... Read more

Question: event error 7026

I keep getting this error need help.

Event Type: Error
Event Source: Service Control Manager
Event Category: None
Event ID: 7026

User: N/A
Computer: KENDRICK-17305A
Description:
The following boot-start or system-start driver(s) failed to load:
eabfiltr
ntiomin

For more information, see Help and Support Center at http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp.

Answer:event error 7026

EABFiltr.SYS, referred to in the error text, is connected with the Quick Launch buttons on HP PCs. I haven't been able to find any information about NTIOMIN.SYS but I'd imagine it's also connected with proprietary HP hardware.

Once Windows is loaded, open the Device Manager and see if any devices have the yellow exclamation mark next to them. There may well be some marked 'Unknow device' which doesn't help you identify which is the culprit. Likely candidates are keyboard (with the QL buttons, it's non-standard and will therefore require its own driver "on top" or instead of the standard Windows one; touch-pad; internal modem; network interface; sound card; fingerprint sensor (this one had me stumped for ages).

When my machine presented me with a bunch of 'Unknow devices', I elimintaed them all by downloading and installing as many updated drivers as I could find for my hardware (from the vendor's site, of course - I'd avoid these "we've got all the drivers you need" sites like the Plague).

Hi,there

I'm having serious problem with booting my OS.
in Windows boot manager win7 fails to start.
(status:0x000000e)
repair the startup doens't help.

I have Vista 32bit installed on one drive/partition which works fine and win7 64bit on 2nd disk.Due to clean up and re-partition of the disk reasons I decided to do clean install of win7 64bit on a 3rd separate drive/partition.
Everything went smoothly and all 3 systems were visible on the boot screen and they worked fine.
The following step was to remove the win7 from the 2nd drive.
I couldn't format it in anyway (neither win7 install DVD disk nor disk menager).I managed to do it by external software for partitioning under Vista.(I'm writing it as this inability to format has something to do with booting problems now,I guess-removing MBR?)
After formating of 2nd disk I could not load win7 from 3rd drive (Vista works fine)!!
I installed again win7 on 2nd drive, but none of win7 systems are still accessible without startup repair (I did it 3 times)
both win7 and vista systems are visible in boot screen only when win7 installation disk is in DVD and booting order in BIOS is set to start from DVD first.(win7 and vista appears as recovered)
If I remove the DVD disk or change the order to boot from HDD only Vista and one win7 64bit from 2nd disk appear. I can start vista but not win7.

What do I want:keep VIsta and have win7 64bit on 3rd drive(all programes installed--I want to keep this system for win7)
What I did:
- chkdsk f/r... Read more

Answer:Win Boot Mgr-windows failed to start!

Hello PArtu, welcome to Seven Forums!

Before we make any specific recommendations will you please post a snip/screen-shot of the entire disk management drive map with a full description as to which drive/partition is which, so we can see what you have going on as there may be a fairly simple way to resolve the situation.

In the Windows start menu right click computer and click manage, in the left pane of the "Computer Management" window that opens click disk management and post a snip of that; taken from Vista will be fine.

Hello there!

Just to let you know the context: I have recovered from a severe malware (Trojan.Vundo) infestation with the kind help of
SifuMike from this very forum.
Before I decided to turn myself towards a helping hand, I had to tackle with the infestation myself and namely had to dapple with/into services.msc and msconfig to disable some programs that would load at startup. This in order to try to prevent further spread of the infestation.

Though the infestation is gone my PC running under Windows XP Professional SP2 still has some malfunctions
- one of the most troubling facts is that if I put on the password protected screensaver, when it resumes to fast switching user welcome page, the password I type in to log in does not work... Note that I run an administrator account. I need to shut down and restart the computer to be able to log in...

- When I try to install/uninstall software, I have to start manually the Windows Installer Service and nonetheless receive he following error message "the RPC server is unavailable" although the Remote Procedure Call (RPC) service is started...

- in the System section of the Event Viewer, I can see numerous errors pointing to services that fail to start: e.g. and to name a few, Remote Access Connection Manager, Application Layer Gateway Service, Workstation service, Computer browser service, Routing and Remote Access, SSDPSRV service, SSDP Discovery Service, etc.

- ditto in the Application section of the Event Vie... Read more

Answer:System And Applications Failures (unable To Initialize) In The Event Viewer - Services Will Not Start

Hello,It sounds like that the system has been through a lot. Download advanced windows care, the free version http://www.iobit.com/advancedwindowscareper.html this should solve quite a few of the problems and provide a solid foundation to diagnose further problems. In services.msc you mention that the dependencies list are greyed out, how long have you left the list to populate? the list takes anything from a few seconds to a minute to usually load. open the dependencies tab of installer and leave it for a while.Let us know how it goes.
