Reg File Creation

Question: Reg File Creation

I'm not very good in the area of the registry, but here goes. I know you can create reg files to add certain entries, but how would you go about deleting keys via a reg file? For example, on every XP machine of mine, I always go to regedit, and to the following string:
HKey Local Machine > Software > Microsoft > Windows > Current Version > Explorer > Volume Caches > Compress Old Files
and delete the Compress Old Files key. Can this be made into a .reg file, so instead of drilling through the registry, I can just run the file to remove that particular key?

Relevance 100%
Preferred Solution: Reg File Creation

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Answer: Reg File Creation

Just add the minus " - " sign in front of the registry key you want to delete:

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\ SOFTWARE\ Microsoft\ Windows\ CurrentVersion\ Explorer\ VolumeCaches\Compress old files]

It works for me all the time

I am a developer trying to write reports out to csv file on the file from an Oracle database.

I have a link that says: "download csv file" which links into a .csv file. inside the csv file there is a reference to an ASP via include, so that when the link is clicked on it processes the query passed to it and populates the csv file.. on the fly. This, means i do not have to use the FileSystemObject to actually create the file because it's already there, and the database query just loops through and bungs the data into the file.. once they request it.

If i browse to this directly it works ... but does not via the link. ?

The code i use within the csv file is this..

<!--#include file="includes/MAKECSV_FP.asp"-->
The code for the processing is as follows:

Set OverspendRS = Server.CreateObject("ADODB.RecordSet")
OverspendRS.ActiveConnection = objConnFP

cmbCostCentre = REPLACE(cmbCostCentre, ", ", "','")

IF cmbCostCentre <> "All" THEN
sqlString = sqlString & "WHERE FPROOWNER.V_OVERSPEND_LIST.CUSTOMER_ACCOUNT IN ('" & cmbCostCentre & "')"
IF Request.QueryString("dfOverspend") > 0 THEN

Question: PDF file creation

I have a 600kb Word 2010 file containing one pic of 50kb size and the remainder is a 120,000 word book. I select PDF in Save As and wait for the creation of the PDF file. It works and the result is good except the size of the created Adobe pdf file is in excess of 52mb.
I've done many of these conversions in the past and in all cases the resulting pdf file would always be larger, by around 200%, ie from 600kb to 12-1500mb.
Any help/advice/guidance with this 'problem' is greatly appreciated.

Answer:PDF file creation

I have never saved a word doc as PDF, so I have no direct experience. But I have just found this: - there seems to be some options you can use that influence the quality & size of the resulting PDF.

I have a windows2K machine and the hard drive on it has been filling up to the point where the functionality stops on most apps. I traced the problem to a temp directory under c:\winnt where there are 1,300 X.tmp files being created per day @ 605K each. 1 per minute. SAV is not reporting any issues, spysweeper is fine, current processes and services are all ok.

Does anyone know of an app or script I can use to log how these files are being created so I can trace back the culprit?

Answer:file creation logging

Run HJT and post a log here. An expert will review it and let you know what should be removed. Be sure to save the HJT executable to a permanent spot on your hard drive (don't run from a temp directory).

There has to be something running in the background that's causing that.

Has anyone ever heard of a file called "AU_.exe"? If so, what is it's purpose?

The way I've found this file is through uninstalling a media codec called 3ivx. After uninstalling 3ivx a hidden folder is created under C:\Documents and Settings\*User*\Local Settings\Temp\~nsu.tmp which contains the AU_.exe file.

There is also an apparently related file in C:\Windows\Prefetch called "AU_.EXE" which has some random numbers and letters after it's name and ends in the usual prefetch file exetension of ".pf".

I'm pondering this file because it seems odd for a program to dump an executable upon uninstallation, and I'd like to get to the bottom of what this file is.

So can anyone tell me how to go about doing this or if I even need to do it? Thanks in advance.

I can tell you 'how', but I have no idea if it is necessary or advisable (probably not). For a start, this may impact registry entries that use 8.3 names.

From a command prompt you can use the FSUTIL command with its 8dot3name parameter to investigate: Fsutil 8dot3name particular, the 'scan' option!

I am trying to make a batch file that will copy a given file and rename it with that day's date (I.E. copy c:\AMM.MDB to d:\8-29-07.MDB)But don't know the scripting involved in what I thought would be a simple task. I can get a copy and I can rename it to whatever I want but, I can't get it to use the day's particular date as the name.

Answer:Batch file creation

The line you'd want to add is something similar to the below example.FOR /F "TOKENS=1-5 DELIMS=/ " %%D IN ("%DATE%") DO RENAME "AMM.MDB" %%E-%%F-%%G.MDBThis example takes the %DATE% tag which is the systems current date and splits it by spaces and slashes. So the date tag: Wed 08/29/2007 would be split into the variables starting with %%D (so Wed 08 29 2007). Hope that helps.

My computer recently became infected with "wmiprvse.exe" that was cought (and suppressed?) by Zone Alarm Suite. Anyway after the first format it was still present. So with the second format I flashed the Bios as well. I do have two drives on this pc and both formated.

My question is when you right-click>properties I was under the impression that the creation date of the file is never going to change, and if it was, this was a sign of a virus etc... So with the current above cirumstance my wmiprvse.exe file has a creation date of 2007, modified date of 2002, and accessed on 2007. Does this mean there is still a problem? Hi Chas9 !

If you're talking about a date that appears at the bottom of the image then there's nothing you can do, it's part of the image.

If you wish to change the file attribute then there are many freewares on the internet that can do that. A google search found this freeware which should do the trick :

Else Total Commander (fully fonctionnal 30 days shareware) has many other uses but can do just what you want. Select your files with right-click (or press + then type *.jpg if these are all .jpg files) then go to files => change attributes.

I installed Crashplan and restored my old laptop to my desktop. From there, I moved the files to their respective folders and deleted the desktop file. A few minutes later, the file reappeared on the desktop, but with only a partial set of directories (Desktop:C\Users\UserName\Favorites).

I removed Crashplan and delete the AppData directory for it's configuration. Confirmed that the service is no longer in windows and rebooted. On restart, the file on the directory reappears. I deleted it and a few minutes later it reappears.

How can I find out what process is creating this file?

Answer:Automatic File Creation - What Process?

I found the issue. During the recovery I copied and pasted the files in place. I had noticed on "User\Favorites" the shortcut/properites had been rewritten to the desktop copy somehow. I changed this in the properties and ignored it.

Today I went through the registry and found that all the folders under C:\Users\MyUserName were registered to the copy that had been on the Desktop...not sure how that happens (desktop.ini files?).

Anyhow, I ran a registry cleaner to get rid of what I could then went in and modified the properties in regedit for all the bogus ones from "Desktop\C\Users\Myuser" back to "C:\Users\Myuser". The problem seems to be solved. at this new files created.

I am running Microsoft Office Enterprise 2007 under Windows 7 Ultimate, 64-bit. All patches and updates have been applied to both products through Microsoft Update. Lately, when closing an Office application, i.e., Excel, Word, etc., Office creates a ".box" file and that file is saved in my personal folder on my desktop. Examples of such files include "," "," etc. Can someone tell me if I have accidentally enabled this feature, and if so, how to disable it? I have to delete these .box files every time I close an Office app.

While researching this issue, I came across this information about a recent update released by Microsoft: KB 2501594

Hi. I could use some help, please. I need to zip a bunch of jpg files so I can upload the zip file to my website store. First one worked like a charm. Now it starts to zip the approx 600 files, running really fast, then slower, then it really bogs, then it throws an error.

I zip files by right-clicking Start, click Explore, navigate to the folders I want:
My Documents
/subfolder - this is the folder that has my jpg files, among other things.

I click File, click New, click Compressed (Zipped) Folder. I name the folder.
I choose the 600 files by using Click, go to the last one, Control Click. I drag them to the new compressed (zipped) folder and drop.

Zoom.... off it goes...then not so much...then

I don't need this app but an app that can do this:

The app can seem to do it with a list.txt generated from a windows cmd prompt and then loaded in. But it does not move the file, only creates the folders and there are a few thousand files to deal with. I need something quick and simple.

Hey there, TSG!

I seem to be having a bit of trouble when I create new files or folders. I have an idea as to what created the problem, but I'm unsure how to fix it. First off, let me give you a little background info. It's a brand new PC (turned it on for the first time yesterday) so I'm 99.9% positive there's no malware involved. It's a Core 2 Duo machine that originally came with XP Home SP2, but have since upgraded to XP Pro SP2. After upgrading to Pro (and before connecting it to the internet) I installed AVG anti-virus, AVG anti-spyware, SpywareBlaster, IE host file, and ZoneAlarm firewall (all free versions). I then connected to the internet, got windows updated, then updated all the security software. Then I resized the C: partition and created an E: partition with the free space in Partition Commander 10. I'm starting think the partitioning is what caused my problem.

What's happening is when I create a new file and/or folder within My Documents for example, the icon doesn't appear in the window unless I either right click and select refresh, or close and re-open the window. This isn't a huge problem because it does create the folder, however, it is a bit of annoyance when I have to refresh the window in order to name it. Also, if I move a file or folder to a new location, the icon won't disappear from the old location unless I refresh the window. And if I click on said folder before I refresh the window, I'll ... Hello, I'm trying to write a batch file (an additional to the users logon script) to find the modified date of a file, then find the difference between todays date and if the difference is greater than 100 days run a certain piece of software. I'm sure this is fairly easy, but I'm pretty new to batch files. All I've managed to do so far is to output todays date to a text file. I think you can get the creation date using the "DIR filename", but this will need to be trimmed and I'm not sure how to do that in batch files. Any help would be much appreciatedThanks for your help

Answer:Batch to look at file creation date

There are three dir switches available for dates:/ta - date accessed/tc - date created/tw- date writtenCalculations in batch files can be done with the set /a statement. That  said, date calculations are cumbersome and usually involve a long series of hardcoded IF statements.A better tool would be Windows Scripting (free and installed on Windows machines since Win95C) which has built in date functions for just the purpose you need. luck.

'File creation error - parameter incorrect.'

That's the error message I get when I try to use Xcopy from a DOS prompt to copy files from a CD I burned, full of .mp3 files, to my hard drive, on my WinXP machine. When I try to drag and drop within Windows Explorer I get something very similar: 'cannot copy - parameter incorrect'.

I've looked around the web a bit, googled the problem, and the only clues I've been able to come up with are to Xcopy it. Well, I've tried that with the results above.

I was able to drag and drop (and play in winamp) the first half dozen files from the directory before I got any problems. Then I got the Windows message. Then I
researched it. Then, using Xcopy I was able to copy 67 of the files before getting the

Ladies and gentlemen your assistance please:
Just shipped in all my old files/docs/pics from XP to my new Win 8.1 PC via an external drive.
Everything now’s shows as being modified on the move date. All the creation date and genuine modification dates have been lost. Any way to get them back?
Failing that can I start again and re-import with a way of saving those original dates dates?

Answer:Lost creation dates on file transfer

Having read through a couple of Google answers on this problem it seems that the basic Windows commands for copying do not allow you to preserve the dates of file creation etc. But there is a programme called Richcopy Click Here that allows you to do so. I've not used it but since you still have the original files with their original dates it should be a simple matter to copy them with Richcopy and then move them to your new machine. I would be interested to hear how you get on.

Hi guys, I am new here and I would like to clarify a few things.

As the title suggested, is there a way to find the original creation date on a file which has been copied and pasted. Here were the steps I took.

1. Copied documents from PC to external hard drive
2. Deleted documents on PC.
3. Connected ext hd to my laptop and booted up the files
4. Right clicked properties to view the creation date, which shows the current date instead of the original date.

So from what I know, the "date created" is the date which I copied and pasted into the external hard drive, right?

Is there a way to find out the ORIGINAL date created from my laptop? I have since deleted the orignal document from my PC.

Many thanks in advance.

Answer:How do I find the original date creation on a file?

Hello, if I understand your question correctly, date created is when the file was moved. Odd, however I just tried it myself on my own two partitions. Date modified is when the file was modified/made(assuming no other modifications to the file were made.)

I am in the process of scanning in numerous old photographs and I thought it would be an idea to change the file creation date to the date on which (approx) the photograph was taken. I am using ninotech dateedit for this. It works fine. If I right-click a file and look at its properties it gives the new creation date. However, on adding the date created column to details view in explorer it seems that any date prior to about 1980 is simply shown as blank. Can this be altered or is it a feature of explorer?

I have tried a few replacements for windows explorer and so far they all appear to have the same behaviour which suggests it is linked into the OS.

Any help greatly appreciated.

Answer:File creation date not showing in explorer

If I remember correctly, the earliest date that a PC can deal with is Jan 4th 1980 - as there was no need to have date capacity before this point

I don't think you'll be able to get around this, so it might be better to watermark the images with the date you need

Hi Everyone

Kind of new to this so please bear with me.

I was recently reviewing the properties of some word docs (word 2003) on my system (XP SP3) when I noticed that the file Created and Modified information contained both a date and time stamp. However, the Accessed tag only contained a date and no time information at all.

I have searched for the past few days trying to find an answer and can find a lot of utilities which will allow you to change this information, but no info as to why the time is missing.

This seems to involve only this one file.

I made the mistake of calling Microsoft Support and got the usual BS run around and no answer.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

I'm trying to debug an installer, and I want to make sure that installations are performed properly when I tweak some settings. What I want to do is compare the logged file/folder changes after a proper installation to the logged changes after a tweaked installations, and if all files/folders were created, changed, deleted in exactly the same way, I know the tweak install was ok.

So is there a system file that keeps track of all creation, modification, and deletion of file and folders? I think it might be ntuser.dat.log or software.log, but I'm not sure. I came to these two files by creating, modifying, and deleting randome files, then performing multiple "date modified" searches to find the files that are most frequently modified when I perform these operations.
The problem is, if one of these two files is the one I'm looking for, I can't access either of them since they are system files currently in use.

So my question is if there is a file that logs file/folder creation/mod/del and how to access this file if access is prevented.

Answer:logged file/folder creation,modification,deletion

Audit object access

Computer Configuration\Windows Settings\Security Settings\Local Policies\Audit Policy

Determines whether to audit the event of a user accessing an object--for example, a file, folder, registry key, printer, and so forth--that has its own system access control list (SACL) specified.

If you define this policy setting, you can specify whether to audit successes, audit failures, or not audit the event type at all. Success audits generate an audit entry when a user successfully accesses an object that has a SACL specified. Failure audits generate an audit entry when a user unsuccessfully attempts to access an object that has a SACL specified. To set this value to no auditing, in the Properties dialog box for this policy setting, select the Define these policy settings check box and clear the Success and Failure check boxes.

Note that you can set a SACL on a file system object using the Security tab in that object's Properties dialog box.

Default: No auditing.

Something I discovered tonight...let me explain by example:

I have two files in folder AAA. One is named BBB, with a creation date of 1-1-14. One is named CCC, with a creation date of 8-1-14.

If I delete BBB, and then rename CCC to BBB, then that file's creation date changes from 8-1-14 to 1-1-14, even though the content stays the same as when it was actually created on 8-1-14.

Is this normal? If so, I’ve never noticed before. Also, if it’s normal, what do you think the rationale is, and does this differ from XP? For my purposes this is a useful -- if unexpected -- behavior (I won’t go into *why* I like it unless someone asks).

Answer:File Creation Date Oddity? Or Normal Behavior?

Can't reproduce this on my computer. AFAIK rename operations will not change either creation date or modify date.

This is an odd one and has me completely stumped. It started sometime within the last year. I am an old retired msdos programmer. My 1980s Microsoft compilers, qcl 2.5, cl 6.0 and associated link, all worked in the command prompt under XP on an NTFS partition for several years. However I had reason to do a compile last week and it failed. Neither of the compilers nor link can now create files. They can read and write fine if I first create an appropriate empty file by some other means, but they can't create a new file. The same is true with some of the utilities I've built with the compilers over the years.

File re-direction under the command prompt can create new files. I have an old msdos editor, ed.exe, by PC-Write which also works and can create files. But my msdos compiler suite can not, nor can programs built with these utilities.

It does not appear to be a disk permission issue, I tried some of my simple test programs on a FAT based floppy disk and zip drive. I even copied utility to the target removable drive. They can't open a new file on the media under the XP command prompt. However when run on a different machine, WinME under command prompt, or a true MSDOS machine they work fine. Per my title, I seem to have lost file creation rights when running under the XP command prompt. I've use cacls to look at the drive permissions, folder permissions, /windows/system32/cmd.exe, and /windows/_default.pif. All give the administrator (myself) full right... Read more

Hello, I'll start off by saying that this question is unlikely to be answered and will probably make most wonder why I'd even post it but I'll explain why.

So the issue is that I need to patch a decent amount of Windows 7 PC's with a large amount of updates (295, except not every PC needs every patch, it's just an SCCM update group that contains them all). I've inherited this issue in case anyone asks why I
have so many outstanding patches.
I deployed all the required ones to my PC as a test and when I logged back on, Libraries was broken. By broken I mean there was now a libraries icon on my desktop (maybe it was there before but it at least moved to make me notice it) and the default libraries
were gone. The libraries folder was empty. I can create new libraries manually but clicking 'Restore default libraries' does nothing.

The other issue is that if I try to create any new folder at a network location or locally (not in libraries, this is separate), and give it a name, an error appears saying "Could not find this item. This is no longer located at <location>. Verify
the items location and try again". If you click try again, the folder is created with the name. If you click cancel, the folder is created but is called 'New Folder'. </location>
<location>These 2 results did not please me so I deployed to another PC as a test and got the exact same result. Great, so it will more than likely happen to all PC's. I've since found out a ... Read more

I faced this problem with a couple of other pen drives also.

Once i faced this problem with my friends Computer also, one of the Harddisk partition showed like this..... and i formated the partition and it is ok.

I have formated the pendrives / mp3 players but still again the sequence repeats.

I am attaching some screen shots of the windows explorer.

Can anyone pls let me know whether this is a virus or some kind of problem.....

Please help me in this regard.......

Greetings All,

I am in the process of trying to create a Recovery Disk Set for a Client's *Satellite L300 - PSLB8A-07U004*.

While the application opens and begins the creation of the disk set, it has, three times now, failed at with the error message of *"Failed to open the following file. D:\!V5_01_07.VRP (Error Code: 020123-F1-00000000)".*

I did attempt this process the first time while the all the client's data was still loaded.
I have now done a 'Restore to 'Out of the box experience' because I thought one of those files might be the cause but, alas, the error was repeated.
Obviously this is irritating (to say the least).

I have NOT made any change to the layout or sizing of partitions.'

Any thoughts?

I'm about to tear out my hair. First Windows Explorer keeps stopping, searches for solution then restarts. About the time this problem, I noticed that Windows Explorer will change the original creation date on some of my files. It might be all files in folder or just certain types. I've yet to make a connection with when this is happening or what is causing it. Not necessarily when Windows Explorer stops. It's difficult when you can't tell which is the oldest/newest file in a folder.

I'm running Windows 7 16 bit, which I keep updated, McAfee, AntiMalware Bytes and SuperAntiSpyware, also all updated.

I'm begging! Can someone help me please?

Answer:File Creation Dates Change/Windows Explorer 7 keeps stopping

16 Bit Operating systems haven't been around for a long time, it is either 32 or 64 Bit.
Running multiple anti-virus systems can cause conflict and only one should be installed.
You may have more luck posting this in the Virus/Trojan/ Spyware help section as it could be a virus.

I copied some files from my old HP laptop with xp, burnt them with burnaware onto a dvd. Now on my new laptop (lenovo g580 W7 64bit) I tried to take them off the DVD and move to my local drive, when I was moving them from disc to drive explorer gave me a message saying 'Invalid MS-dos function' and the usual try again or cancel option.
Thinking some of the files on disc might be corrupt I ran
xcopy F:\*.*/s > C:\test1
And got the message in my topic title File creation error - Data error (cyclic redundancy check).
Now I don't have clue what this means and I can only tell you I have an output file in C, as per the command instructions, with almost all the files listed, some are missing but some of the ones there are the corrupt ones and some of the ones missing I think are fine.
Doesn't really lead me to the issue unless someone can decipher the error message I got?

I have some files that I'd like to burn onto a DVD... how do I do that? I currently only have Nero, and if it does convert the files into DVD format, I haven't figured it out. Any help? Thanks...

Answer:AVI or MPG DVD creation

Burning them as MPG or AVI should be as simple as adding them to a data DVD project in Nero, and burning.

However, if you want to create a DVD that is playable in (non DivX) DVD players, then you will need to convert the files into DVD format first. I've always liked DivXToDVD for this purpose. This will convert an AVI or MPEG video into an ISO file. You can then burn this ISO file as a data DVD project, and it will translate into the necessary file structure (ie. VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS at the disc's root) as well as the correct filetypes (*.VOB).

However, DivXtoDVD has been discontinued, and the SHAREWARE version ConvertXToDVD has replaced it. I've never used this, so I can't comment on what kind of job it does.

Another freeware alternative is AVI2DVD, but I've found that this program often messes up the sync between video and audio.

All these programs work the same... put in an AVI/MPEG, spit out an ISO, then burn the ISO, and you should have a working disc. Let us know if you have any problems.

Question: DvD Creation

I burned a DVD of "Motivational Posters" and some music. It burned correctly and it loads in everything.

The problem is that my DVD player sucks. It only plays the pictures and I can't find any way to play the music at all.

So my question is:

Is there a way I can set up a DVD menu type thing to open up the music folder by folder?

I meant on the same disk. It's a DVD+R. Or am I going to have to make a new disk? and If I were to make a new disk what free software could I use for MP3's? Burner XP is what I used, and Xilisoft's DVD Creator only allows me to work with Videos.

Answer:DvD Creation

The only option for a DVD to play music if it does not support mp3's, is to encode the music into a dvd Movie with either a blank video track or even some of the poster images you have used. Most DVD players do support file browsing for mp3 so try messing around with the menus when you have the disc inserted.

Hope this helps!

Use something like BBMPEG and the list option and define the number of

Resize them to 720 x 576 first and output to MPEG2 for best quality.

Resize them to 352 x 288 for MPEG1 or VCD

These settings are for PAL.Click to expand...[email protected]&rnum=2

I'm not certain what it does, but I wager if you were to search your hard drive for that file, you would find it in c:\windows\temp. There always seems to be some randomly named exe in that folder running in the background. As far as I've been able to figure out, it is normal.

Question: DVD Creation

I'm sure several dozen threads have banged this topic into submission before, but my head is spinning from all the reading I've done lately... So if someone could just point me in the right direction at 'least, heh.

Mainly, I'm looking for a good tool to create DVD-Rs out of existing video files on my computer (in a way that will allow them to play on stand-alone players), most of the guides and such that I tend to find usually detail the opposite process... That is, how to rip/encode DVDs and other stuff for portable players, HTPCs, etc. From what I understand tools like Handbrake/AutoGK simply perform this conversion...

So what exactly do I need to go in the opposite direction? Do I need to use an authoring program like TMPGEnc or will something like SUPER suffice for a quick burn? To be honest I haven't really dived in and tried using any of these programs yet, most I've done is make backup copies of my own DVDs (or my cousin's toddler's movies) using DVD Decrypter and DVD Shrink.

I also have a tech assigned to each of the tickets, so when a ticket # is chosen from the dropdown, the appropriate tech's name is also displayed.

What I am trying to do is have a checkbox, Yes/No, or True/False cell where the tech can toggle the value for each ticket. I know I can create a "third" column for the Yes/No value with another VLOOKUP to tie in to each ticket, but how can I get the value to be displayed based upon what the tech is choosing in the same cell?

ie. I want cell A1 to be a vlookup for the value in B1 (ticket # chosen from dropdown) a range of C1:C20 (list of ticket #'s), but I also want the tech to be able to choose the value.

I know this can be done in Access with a simple checkbox. Can the same be done in Excel?

I want to make a TV Commercial for my DiDA IT GCSE, as I need to promote a company that we have created.
How do I go about doing this?
Also, which software would be best? I don't mind if there trials.

Answer:Tv Commercial Creation

I am not an expert in video production and design (more of the graphic design type), but I do have several friends who are into video production. They use and highly recommend Adobe Premiere and Adobe After Effects. I am a huge fan of Adobe and I use all of their products for my graphic design work. BTW, both of these programs have trial version available.

I need to build a small website for my Mum & Dad's new boat-trip business - nothing too elaborate. I have built sites before using Microsoft Publisher. This was very simple to do, but graphics always came out fuzzy on the internet. What software could I use (Less than 200) that is very simple? I have no knowledge of HTML. Is there something I can use just like Publisher (ie - put picture and text on and it converts it all to code) but that will keep pictures clear? Many thanks for help.

Answer:Which Web Creation Software? Help!

Thank you for that! I have always just been puting pictures in and have never really thought about the size. I'll give that a go on Publisher

Im taking a class on my own on programming... I tried asking for help where Im taking this class but no response... I was hoping to get some help here in learning this better...

You have a database of student records. The database contains the following information:

Major Valid data > Business, Math, English, History,

GradeAverage Valid Data > 1.0 to 4.0 in .1 increments

ClassYear Valid Data > 1, 2, 3, 4 - each number represents the class year with 1 = Freshmen, 2 = Sophomore, etc.
Write the pseudocode for a program which will read this file of information and print a letter to each student who is eligible to join the new Honor Society. No students belong to it yet. Freshmen may not join the Honor Society, but membership is open to all other students who have a 3.5 average or above. There is a scholarship available for a History major who is a member of the Honor Society, so all history majors will need a special message (on the same letter is fine) advising them of this possibility.

Im struggling here.... I tried writing some but got confused... Any help here is greatly appreciated!

Question: Package Creation

COuld anyone let me know the steps to create a package?I was told that initially I have to create a folder(with the package name), then write a program that starts with "package package_name;", then another program starting with "import package_name.class_name".Im confused abou this because instead of creating the folder/package manually, I had come across something like javac -d or something which creates the package & places the class file in it.
Could anyone let me know the exact procedure?

Answer:Package Creation
