Changing IP while visiting site makes it unreachable?

Question: Changing IP while visiting site makes it unreachable?

I'm just curious why this happens. I browse on a VPN from time to time, and I've noticed that when I switch it off and try to continue browsing certain sites, I can't. It's like the browser doesn't even attempt to load it and shows an "unable to connect" error page right away.

Preferred Solution: Changing IP while visiting site makes it unreachable?

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Answer: Changing IP while visiting site makes it unreachable?

It's probably because the socket it was using was closed.

I can get to any website I try except Windows update.

I have moved the HDD to another PC and run MS Security Essentials, BitDefender & F-Secure scans. Then back to its own case where I ran Anti-Malware & SuperAntiSpyware. HijackThis also ran but still no Windows Update.

I have tried running IE in Safe mode - same problem. I did a repair install of XP - problem persists. I ran a batch file to delete the update database and reregister DLLs. Reinstalled IE 8. Still unable to reach Windows update in IE or FireFox. WinsockXPfix didn't help and an nslookup of windowsupdate.microsoft.com reveals

DNS request timed out.
timeout was 2 seconds.
*** Can't find server name for address 192.168.0.1: Timed out
*** Default servers are not available

All other websites on this PC come up fine, as does Windowsupdate on another PC on the same LAN. My Hosts. file contains just
127.0.0.1 localhost

Help.

Hi I have recently started my own Digital Camera business , selling only popular Digital Cameras, the I've submitted to the pay per click search engine overture, but don't seem to be getting any buyers just people clicking and costing me.I just wanted to know where else I should try advertising on to get some buyers. The cameras are very reasonably priced and well below high street prices, so kinda of miffed why they arn't selling more. Please can someone advise.Cheers Phil

Answer:Help with getting people visiting my web site

1 - paste a link here! There used to be a links section on PCA but it is now gone as far as I can see (maybe because no one looked at it...).2 - advertise in the relevant magazines if that is in your budget - even a small classified ad should help.3 - does google list your site - maybe check out the cost of advertising with them.4 - have you looked at price check sites like kelkoo.co.uk, pcindex and so on? I know nothing at all about e-commerce so the above is only some basic musing.

So my computer can't connect to websites, says they're Unreachable. This is true for nearly every site I try. I did a tracert for en.wikipedia.org which gave me:

The Internet isn't down though, I am still capable of accessing a few Google sites. Google Search and YouTube are both working fine, and I can still watch YouTube videos, but every non-Google site is Unreachable.

Please help?

Here they are.

I don't see a problem allowing Adobe but I can't make any promises here. Why not get a different browser like Chrome and see what happens.

Hello.

I've not had this happen to me before. On visiting "RosariansCorner" I receive the attached message.

I can get to the site through the cached sites in Google but can't navigate the actual site.

Have you come across this before. Other sites are fine. I'm using Firefox and Windows XP.

Thank you.

Hello,

I am running a P4 Q6600 with Windows XP SP2. I use Firefox, just updated to 12, and have AVG 2012 loaded
(unfortunately, it lists my current AVG Safe Search as incompatible with Firefox 12).
I went to a legitimate business website, and apparently the website has been recently hijacked because
instead of the expected content (that was in the Google cache), an illegitimate-appearing virus warning
appeared in the browser window. I closed the window, but found thereafter that when visiting google.com with Firefox,
Firefox always said it was "Connecting to 213.174.137.82...". This is my main symptom. I didn't observe
this on other intact computers, but I found others on BleepingComputer that had infections associated
with this address (such as http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/topic445802.html, but with slightly different
symptoms -- Google seems to work okay for many searches in my case). I don't perceive significant slowing,
but strangely after running DDS and GMER for a while, my mouse stopped working (I plugged in another one
and it worked for a short while but also stopped) and I started getting delayed write errors. Upon rebooting, the computer
seems to work okay but it still displays the "Connecting to 213.174.137.82..." message with Firefox browsing google.com.

I visited the business website that seemed to initiate the problems again but on a Linux computer, and
I found the URL redirected to a suspicious-appearing .ru address, wher... Read more

My history shows some..ummm..inappropriate sites. When I click on the listing, nothing happens...there is no url...When I click on a site that I know I have been to...the browser takes me back to that site. I should mention that I am using IE 6. I am wondering if inappropriate sites are able to add themselves to History, whether or not it has actually been visited...some sort of pop-up or something. Any input would be appreciated 'cause I am not sure if someone has been using my computer and visiting those sites. Thanks..

Hello and welcome to Techspot.

I have just checked out the site you refer to with both Firefox and IE with no problems.

I would suggest therefore that your IE may have been hijacked.

Go Here and follow the instructions.

When I tried running HIJackThis, I get a message "For some reason system denied write access to the Hosts file...."

Any clue how bad it really is?

Thanks,

I have an infected laptop running XP Pro SP3. It had Spyware Protect 2009 on it but I was able to stop the sysguard.exe process and delete sysguard.exe from the Windows subdirectory and from the HKEY_CURRENT_USER\....\Run registry hive. There is still at least one other major problem. IE 7 is redirected to display "internet explorer warning visiting this web site may harm your computer" most of the time. I can get to google sometimes and even search something but when I try to follow a link - I get the redirection message. It also prevents me from running a system restore and most of the scanning software such as malwarebytes, SDfix and several others. I was able to run HijackThis but when I tried to post the report, it redirected me again so I saved the log file to a thumbdrive and logged onto an uninfected computer to post this.

I'm attaching the log file.

Recently, whenever I try to start Firefox, I've started seeing the "an error has occurred on the script on this page.... do you want to continue running scripts on this page" message. I usually have to click "no" two or three times to get Firefox to finally open. And then, when I close Firefox down again, there the same script error message box is AGAIN! Sometimes 2 or 3 copies of it! So apparently the problem page keeps on TRYING to load.

The URL for the page that is apparently trying to run is: https://ubp-common-us-prod.s3.amazonaws.com/require/require.js

I'm assuming the page is somehow related to Amazon but the script error shows up even when I don't attempt to go to any site related to Amazon. I've tried removing Amazon from my bookmarks and toolbar. No luck.

And, as far as I know, I don't use any Amazon Web Services which I've now figured out is what the "aws" part of the URL refers to. But, since it seems that Amazon now has a finger in every pie, who knows?

Any suggestions for how to fix this? I run Windows 10 on an HP Notebook.

BTW - I'm brand new to Techguy so if this isn't the right forum, please tell me how to request that my question be moved. Thank you in advance.

In Internet Explorer, when I get a certificate error, if I continue to the web site, I can then view the certificate to see what was wrong.  However, obviously it would be preferable* to see the certificate
before I make the decision to go to the site.  Is this possible?  I'm sure I could use another browser that does this, or maybe use the F12 developer tools, or write a program.   But I'm looking
for a normal-user way to do it.  I think it used to be possible in Internet Explorer, but this might have been 6.x or even earlier.  Or even
way earlier.  Yep.  I'm that old.  I believe this feature is not in Edge either...unless I'm just missing it.  But I'm using ie11 right now.

Hello, I know this is my fault but I was looking for a way to fix my hard disk (it constantly increases the CRC error count)but anyway it made me have another issue. now I can't get back to Enhanced mode because whenever I try to change back to Enhanced mode ,it makes windows to raise BSOD with inaccessible_boot_device error, I tried to find any solution but I couldn't. now I am stuck with Compatible mode so I want to get back to Enhanced mode. I want to know how shall I fix this issue, I guess changing some registry keys will do the work but I dunno which key has to be changed.

I have Windows 8.1 x64bit edition and Foxconn G41mx-k motherboard and hitachi 256GB hard disk.

I did this method
Changing IDE to AHCI caused no boot

but it didn't work, still I get BSOD whenever I boot windows on enhanced mode. but I did install windows while it's on enhanced mode but later I changed to compatible and then when i try to get back to enhanced mode I get this issue.

Answer:Changing SATA to Compatible from Enhanced makes OS nt boot

Do you have IRST drivers loaded ? Also AHCI may not be compatible with that HDD, what do you need AHCI for ? there's no advantage with HDDs at all.

Hi,

I just bought a Dell UltraSharp 2408WFP monitor. When I have the screen resolution set to the highest of 1920x1200, everything looks too small. When I raise it up a notch, to 1600x1200, my taskbar disappears. It's not set on auto-hide. Does anyone know what's going on and how I can reduce the resolution without losing my taskbar?

Hi, I have at the moment for my thousands of photos a site which I am sure you all know called Picasa and have had this site for a few years, but I now fancy a change to Irfanview or Photology. If I download one of these sites, will all my existing photos auto transfer into the new site, and when I remove Picasa, will the photos that are in the new site still be cropped etc which I carried out previously in Picasa?

Answer:changing photo site

You seem to be confused about what you want to do.Picasa is a Photosharing site as well as a photo editing system.Irfanview is a Photo editing programPhotology is as far as I can see a program that is for organizing your pictures, similar to Picasa. If you change whatever program you are using to edit your pictures you will need to associate the pictures with the new program, any editing that you have already done will not change. To be safe it would be a good idea to archive your pictures onto CD/DVD or external Hard drive. I would not like to trust all my pictures to an online archive.

Answer:Changing a link within my web site?

to design your site?In general terms you simply need to open the relevant page in the software and edit the hyperlink. Then publish the page back to the server and the software will over-write the existing page - your revision will appear online.

Here is my problem... When I'm listening to SiriusXM radio through their web page and I have another page or pages open to browse other websites, and then click a link on my desktop, email or anywhere except on one of the other open pages, it usually makes the SiriusXM page navigate away from their site. I then have to navigate back to it and log in again. This has always been a problem when I want a particular page to stay at the site it's on and not change when I use links that aren't on one of the other open pages.

Answer:How Can I Keep a Page From Changing to Another Site?

I do not know how sirius works online but if you use firefox there are addons that will lock the page so it will not change. It may or may not work for you. Also you can always open a second browser window and do what you need to do while the radio is streaming.

I use permatab mod for firefox. right now it is not in the addons but you can go to the developers website and download teh beta to install manually. The beta does work.

Do i simply go to iis and change the cert?
Do i also need to change it in the configuration page where it references it by ip address?
When i do that, do i need to redeploy / update the gateways?

I am on 1.6 as of an hour ago.  Please reference the version number you are familiar with in your responses.  I would imagine that they are the similar if not identical but i want to be sure we are on the same page.

Weird one this folks....

I designed a www site for a mate of mine for his TaeKwon-Do school and it is regularly updated by myself with new information, features, photographs and articles. I have done this on my desk based PC for around 18 months with all working very well. I am not a developer or programmer and so designed and maintain the site using MS FP. Perhaps not the best web authoring tool, but I can get by using it.

Here's the dilemma. I recently purchased a new laptop and now want to manage the www site from this machine instead of the desk based machine. So, I copied the entire web directory from the desk machine to my laptop, did some ammendments to several pages, re-published... and now it has lost some of the functionality, namely the shared border navigation list and bottom nav bars etc.

However, if I go back to the desk machine and republish from there, everyting reverts back OK... How do I move the local web site from one machine to another...? Any advice greatly appreciated...

www.gassor.co.uk is the site.

Good Afternoon,
My wife and I will, in the fairly near future, be changing our email address. So I had a look round and couldn't find anything mentioned on the 'Home' page. I would like to keep 'My Posts', so I thought I would contact the FE, but the links on the forum pages I tried didn't work.
So some one must know how this need to be done, as I think it is not exactly an unknown event, and that it must happen enough that there is a procedure for it, and all I wish to know is how to do it.
Any help/guidance/information as to how to do this will be gratefully received. Many thanks in advance.

I have 3 PC's all going into the same router. One of these PC's had a webpage on them that someone could visit by typing in the url. It was something like:

http://111.222.333.444/upload/index3.htm

My router was getting old so I changed it to a Netgear DG834G.

All the PC's can still talk to each other via the network. But for some reason, the above url no longer works. I can access the upload page using my internet IP number. But when I get someone from outside the network to try to access it, it comes up "the connection has timed out". This has happened for the last 4 days, which was when I swapped the routers over.

What do you think could be causing this? How can I diagnose the problem?

Thanks,

Jon

Answer:Changing router broke my site - help!

I believe the solution is pretty simple, your new router has not been configured to forward the port for HTTP access. If you visit www.portforward.com and follow the prompts, they have port forwarding instructions for most popular routers.

I dont know.

The easiest way to move from a small hd to a larger one is to use an imaging programme like Ghost or True Image.
Programmes like these will move all your files & operating system to a new drive with no need to reinstall anything.

Hi i had alittle issue back with windows xp when i had that, but eventually the icons would settle down and be correct if i just gave it some time.

But with windows7 it really is a pain. No only do my site icons (of my websites) not show up correctly, they keep changing to this default earth globe. I finally have to change them back manually by using change icon and browse and finding the icon on my system.

Then just now i added a new subdomain and all of a sudden all the icons for that whole domain changed to the one i just added, im like WTH. so i checked the link tag on the site and it was correct.

Makes me wonder what my users and customers are dealing with, they dont have the luxury of just assigning my site ico file manually.

So two questions:

What is the deal here, why do they change?

Why does windows make this so complicated. If there is a link tag in the file that says the icon should be this ico file on the site then WTH is the problem and why cant windows handle such a simple task?

Thanks.

I have recently posted a huge free web site with geocities, (my first one!) and my company has it's own domain name. I was wondering if there was anyway that I can change it over to a simple address using our own domain name, and do I have to start over? if you want to look first, it is http://www.geocities.com/hcamgmt Thank you!

Answer:changing a free web site to my domain name

You will need to host your domain name. Some sites that register the names can also host them. I will say that you can get free hosting from http://www.netfirms.com, but they place a banner on every page, and lately have pop-ups as well. The good thing is that host your the domain as http://www.yourname.com, as opposed to what geocities does. they also have a good email aliasing service, so that yoou can designate a specific email address as the receiver, such as [email protected], and then, any mail that is sent to [email protected] will be sent directly to [email protected]

Another good thing is that you can go banner free for $5/ month.

You can also go here for a search of hosts in the US and Canada.
Once your domain name is hosted, then just upload all the files that you created, which you have hopefully kept on your system. If not, then connect to geocities FTP, and download the files you have there, and then just upload them to the new FTP site.

If a website requires you to change a password, can you just highlight the old password press Delete, and type in the new password, forcing Google Chrome to accept the change? (You can in other browsers)

Hi,

When I am using couchturner.eu to watch tv online it has recently (last couple days) started to change the website mid show or before i can even get the stream loaded to this website:

http://www.vplayer.us/download/Player/F/CA/auload.html?installer=Video_Player_for_Other_Browsers&browser_type=KHTML&dualoffer=false

which asks me to "install and update me video player"

now I know i do not need to do this as my computer is up to date.

I attempted a system restore tonight hoping that might fix it to no avail....

any help would be greatly appricated

Question: NAS unreachable

Hi,

I have a NAS, accessible via 192.168.1.57:81 locally. The problem is : I can't see it under Windows. In Linux I can see it under network tab

I try to access it with \\192.168.1.57 in My Computer but doesn't work too

Any ideas ?

Thanks in advance

Answer:NAS unreachable

Hi nathan30

Did this just recently start?

Is this a new device or new install?

Is your computer connected wirelessly and is the network set to private? (not public).

Could you fill out system specs please.

We started experiencing an issue with some customers unable to browse out to the internet.  Manually setting their proxy server to the proxy.server.com address works, but not when we use the http:\\proxy.pac. In the auto configuration script area
on a working machine entering the http:\\proxy.pac in the address bar prompts for you to download/open the pac.  On the non working machine it ALSO cant reach the destination.  If *I* log on to the machine it works as intended.  We are
using preferences to push these settings and over 22,000 machines are working correctly.  But recently a number of people have started to experience this issue, and we are perplexed.  thoughts?

Since the automatic upgrade was pushed to our PC's we can't reach www.msn.com. We can reach all other web sites.
Is there a workaround, I tried to restore to a date last week, but it didn't fix the problem.

Hi,

I'm not sure what it might be but one day I noticed that about a dozen of websites I open regularly became unavailable. "The connection has timed out."

nslookup works OK and I get IP address resolved, I also tried tracert, it goes through 5-10 hops and then times out. I can still open some web sites but not all of them. I can open all web sites via online proxy so they are all up and running.

I have ADSL modem connected to my laptop, no routers, the modem doesn't have any static routing tables, so as far as I understand it, the list of hosts I see in tracert output depends on my ISP router.

The ISP is able to open all "problem" web sites on their side, but I can't get any help from them as they say that since tracert goes beyond their network it's not their problem and it's my computer actually blocking some of web sites.

I'm not aware of any software on my laptop which could possibly do that as well as I don't have any routing/proxy programs installed, so it seems that it might be a virus or some malicious software.

So what do I do? Try to find a virus or can it be a system issue?

Answer:some web sites became unreachable

Hi I'm new to this site but I'd like to help you.

Try downloading a alternate browser (I reccomend Google Chrome). This will make sure the problem isn't in your browser at least. Also can you ping any of those sites you can't get to?

Problem: cannot access godaddy.com. All 4 computers on my home network cannot access godaddy.com. I do not get porn I just time out.

What I've done so far:
numerous anti-spyware programs have been run including spybotS&D and HijackThis (both before I found your forums), AdwareSE.
called both godaddy.com and verizon.net (my provider) with no luck, both say everything is fine on their end.

I have followed the FAQ with two problems:

-I mistakenly exited out of Counterspy without the log.
-Bitdefender crashed just as it was going to show the "detected problems" Explorer was the named culprit. I do remember mostly trojans found in email (trash box, Eudora Pro) that were deleted.

I do have the other 4 log files. I hope you can help, I have a website at godaddy.com that needs attending to.

Answer:Destination net unreachable

Even though it appears you're having the same problem, please start a new thread when you have a new issue. It's very difficult to keep two problems straight and who's working on what in a single thread.

I've created a new thread for your issue here.

Note: You will need to post complete details of your configuration and your specific issue in this new thread for us to help you.

Thanks for your cooperation.

Hi,When I ping one IP
Sometimes the below error:
What is difference between?
 Destination net unreachable.
 Destination Host unreachable.

http://www.corenetworkz.com/2009/05/destination-net-unreachable-icmp-error.html
For problém diagnostics you will need to analyze output from ipconfig /all, from routing tables when you work behind local network and network analyzer for detailed analysis of packet exchane (Wireshark will do the trick)

I have a number of XP and W7 PCs in a domain with internet connection, all working fine.

I've wired my Linux laptop to the network, DHCP, and it can talk to other devices on the network. But I can't get connected to any site outside the network - ping to any external address gives "192.168.1.1 Destination Net Unreachable" 192.168.1.1 is the correct address for the router, and any Windows machine can ping to any address via that same router.

Any ideas please?

Now I am in a hotel in CA that has free Wireless Internet access also, and my computer says I'm connected, but when I try to access the internet I get "Host is unreachable or DNS server culd not resolve the DNS name." Can anyone tell me what to do to get online?

Go down to the front desk and ask them for their network settings/codes etc. See if they can help you since its their network.

Hi,

I am using an old laptop as a server for Plex and Subsonic, I login to it via RDP. Often the plex server becomes unreachable. Also at times I can't login via RDP for a few minutes with an error that the host is unreachable, this issue sorts itself after a few minutes and I can then log in again.

I'm wondering could this be due to hard disk spin down as all other power setting are set to stay awake.

This is on a Windows 7 setup, thanks.

Answer:Laptop Server Becomes Unreachable

Apparently this is not due to hard disk spin down as I have set it to never spin down and still experiencing problems.

Any one with any ideas on why I may be having these issues please let me know your thoughts.

I've been trying to connect a newly aquired machine to my network with no luck what-so-ever. Initially I installed Windows XP professional with SP2 onto the machine only to be hit with the infamous "Limited or no connectivity" issue. Upon researching this error, I came across various solutions including the Microsoft SP2 Patch KB884020 with no luck. I still cannot get this machine to connect to the network. Everything I've tried is listed below.

Replaced the Hub twice
Tried with no Service packs, and with 1 seperately, and service packs 1 and 2
I've tried the winsock XP fix after reading it may be a corrupt IP table
I've run a registry fix i found on some forums (i have a feeling thats the same as the winsock XP fix though)
I've flushed out my DNS
I've tried 3 different network adapters, an nForce Motherboard mounted one. a Realtek one, and a Sitecom one
Manually assigned an IP address in the range which DHCP would assign

All of the above has failed. It is only this machine which fails. I've got numerous other machines on my network which are all recieving dynamic IPs from DHCP perfectly every time yet this PC hasn't recieved an IP once.

I read that if you can ping the computer's local IP, and ping its loopback address 127.0.0.1 successfully, it's not a corrupt IP table, but bad network drivers. However having tried 3 different network adapters with CD drivers from purchase, and drivers obtained on the inter... Read more

Instead of trying everything possible you should approach this step by step. Use a static IP when testing at all times.

Do you get an ethernet link? (LEDs)
Do ARP requests succeed?

Big pings?
What about duplex and speed settings?

First step is to trouble shoot to determine the cause.

If you want help from somebody you need to describe your network and computers (with respect to the network).

Need some help with this.. I have made absoultely NO network changes anytime recently but I can no longer connect to eMule.. Me and my GF are both on a wireless Network and has gbeen working fine.. Hers can connect to servers and to KAD, but mine will say its connected to a server but will neve rupload/download, and it says the port is unreachable.. I configged mine to be the same as hers and its still not working.. I cannot connect to KAD at all.. Can one of the networking specialists help me out..

Answer:eMules - Port Unreachable

Did yours work at one time? You say you've changed nothing? Maybe your isp has started blocking the port that your runnin emule on. Try changing the port to something else and configuring your network accordingly.

My friend took his computer to Best Buy who ran the restore on it with his main files on a second drive. The drive is now ganked, but I'm working to recover the files if possible.

In Disk Management (XP Pro), I can see that there's a 37GB volume with 20Gb free (looks like his missing files). There's a second volume on the disk that's only 47 MB and it's Active (so I can access it, but there's nothing to speak of there).

The point is that if I click on the 37Gb volume, I can't seem to do anything with it. The only menu option available when I right click it is "Help". If I click the disk itself, I have the option to convert to a dynamic disk, but I don't want to do that without knowing what will happen to the data on there.

When I dig through the properties, I can see data on the 47MB disk, but not the 37 GB. Does anyone know what to do with this!!!?

Answer:Unreachable Volume on Disk, What to do?

Oh, and the 37 GB says this:

37.22 GB NTFS
Healthy (EISA Configuration)

I have searched everything and tried everything. Have an HP Desktop Pavilion. Purchased a MFC 8950dw Printer. One Desktop in the office Acer M3470 connected without Disks, system works beautifully. We have a Linksys wireless router. On the HP Pavilion nothing works. Continue to get "destination host unreachable". Here are the specks. Any help other than what's already been offered? I removed all firewall trying to make that work.

Answer:destination host unreachable

You need to tell us what the problem is, not what error you get. What are you trying to do? What are you pinging? Is the HP Pavillion connected to the router via WiFi or cable? Can it connect to the Internet?
Any other pertinent information would help.

Hi all, new guy here with weird problem. I can not access www.crutchfield.com website. Everytime I try I get timeout (this applies to all machines on my network). However when I bypass the router and hook up directly to the modem I can get the website. Here's what I did so far:

My Internet connection is working fine (called Comcast and it was reset from their side).
I called Crutchfield and they confirmed their website is up (Comcast guy accessed it too).
I reset my modem and router.
I reset the router to factory defaults.
I reinstalled the router firmware.
I doublechecked that access control is disabled on the router, and no entries in web filter

I am stumped, can somebody help? Thanks.

I am running:
Toshiba - DOCSIS 2.0 Cable Modem - PCX2600
D-Link DGL-4300 router
Windows 7 RC x64
All connections Cat6 cable

Answer:Unreachable dll's !! Cant remove them! (dds logs)

Good evening.

Unreachable dll's !! Cant remove them!

What dlls and why do you want to remove them?

Action Security Center keeps telling me I have no antivirus or firewall active when I do....i hope i do.... :-(

DDS sees McAfee, so so far so good, but it reports it as Disabled so you might like to check if it is in fact active.

I'm getting this message when I tracert sf.net. No other website is having problems being accessed from my network, only sourceforge. A ping responds with:
Reply from 66.35.250.203: Destination port unreachable.

A tracert responds with 15 successful hops, and then:
16 sourceforge.net [66.35.250.203] reports: Destination protocol unreachable.

I cant figure out where the problem is originating. I created a static route to allow all traffic to this address on my 1710 router. My SDSL modem is able to ping and tracert successfully. Ping and tracert from my Cisco 1710 router gives the unreachable error.
Network setup is:
LAN -------> Cisco 1710 --------> Efficient SDSL 5851

Any help is appreciated.

William

Hi, I'm having a bit of trouble since last week. I have sweethosting.com hosting my web site and my laptop can't seem to connect to the web site anymore. Everytime I try, I get an error msg: Gateway time out--- Server Unreachable.. sometimes when I repair the wireless connection I can get access, but sometimes I can't.

I've tried scanning with with Nortons antivirus and scanned with spybot and also with Adware. I'm lost in the dark right now. My Desk top computer can access the web site though.

Can someone help me please.

Answer:Error msg: server unreachable

This is what I got when I just tried that site;

"This page is used to test the proper operation of the Apache HTTP server after it has been installed. If you can read this page, it means that the Apache HTTP server installed at this site is working properly.
If you are a member of the general public:

The fact that you are seeing this page indicates that the website you just visited is either experiencing problems, or is undergoing routine maintenance."

Checking the URL with a server identification tool produced the information that it is online, but returns a "HTTP 1.0 403 Forbidden", which seems to confirm the information above.

The IP address for that domain is 69.42.129.18. Sometimes, using the IP address instead of the URL works better, although I don't expect it will make much difference in this particular case.
