Preferred Solution: Cell phone mobile internet on a laptop

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Answer: Cell phone mobile internet on a laptop

You will need a USB cable. I am not fimilure with your phone, but when I plug in my Fusic phone it is recognised as a modem by default, I have to go into setting and tell the phone to act as a USB flash drive to transfer music and such, perhaps you have to do the opisite and go into the setting and tell it to act as a modem device.
I have never tried to use my phone as a modem but you got me wanting to check it out, I have unlimited internet so it won't cost me anything.

I have an LG Alltel AX 490 cell I'm trying to send a Java game to, but I don't have mobile web, which is what all the mobile media uploading websites seem to need. They say to open up your browser and enter a url address. Is there any other way to do this?

Answer:Can you upload files to a cell phone without mobile internet?

Offhand, I'd say yes, by using either a USB cable or Bluetooth transfer. But I do not know the specifics of your phone. Look into the phone's documentation.

If your phone uses additional memory, like SD or microSD memory, then you may also be able to use alternate memory reading devices to place the needed files on the memory chip.

Many times the apps and other various files may need to be specifically designated folders to be used. Again, that is something that the documentation should be able to tell you.

Hi Guys,

I have once again run into a problem that seems to plague me and I am at the point where if I can't solve it this time I am going to take a baseball bat and smash my laptop and cell phone into tiny pieces, scatter them around the neighborhood and go out and buy new stuff that actually works and start all over again. Here's the drill:

Laptop: Dell E6501 Latitude
Built in WiFi antennae
running Win 7 Pro with all updates installed

Cell Phone: Samsung Galaxy S3
Has WiFi Mobile HotSpot capability as well as Tethering capability.

I did a search of the archives on this site and per the suggestions just updated the drivers for the WiFi card.

I can activate the Mobile HotSpot function on my cell phone. My laptop sees the SSID for my cell phone but refuses to connect. I get an exclamation point in the system tray over the signal strength that says "no internet access".

This problem has been plaguing me for 5 years. Sometimes I can access the internet from my cell phone via mobile hotspot or tethering and more often than not I can't and I am way beyond fed up. This should not be this hard. If the manufacturers can't make a feature work reliably then they don't need to be putting into a device period!!!!!

I am not in the mood to be doing screen shots of ip config or any other unnecessary nonsense to try and fix this. I want the easiest solution possible. Any suggestions will be appreciated and I will try anything. If this doesn't wo... Read more

I'm afraid you will get very little support from members here.
the "nonsense" is part of the diagnoses

take the equipment into a computer repair shop and pay them to resolve the issue for you - that way you can avoid any of the "nonsense"

I can get Internet on my cell phone anywhere but not my laptop. Why? and how can I fix this where my laptop can get Internet anywhere like my cell phone. You go to a hotel and they charge you for wi-fi so you can hook up to the Internet with your laptop.

Answer:How can I get my laptop on the Internet like my cell phone

With mobile phones, you more than likely use a data plan. If you do have a mobile phone that supports using a hotspot, as well your service provider allows it, you could set up the hotspot and connect your laptop to that. I believe it uses your own data though. Many providers as far as I know sell dedicated hotspots that you can purchase plans for.

Hi. I live in the boonies and DSL is not available where I live so I use my unlimited data plan on my mobile phone (connected to my laptop via USB) to access the internet. The speed is remarkably good! I would like to supply another computer/router with this connection via CAT5 cable out of the NIC in the laptop but can't seem to get the configuration correct. I know you can use ICS with a computer that has 2 NICs to solve this, but my internet connection coming into the laptop is coming in via USB. The laptop is a Compaq 610 running Windows XP Professional. How can I get my built-in NIC to forward my internet traffic??? Any help is much appreciated, thank you!

Answer:Using 3G mobile phone to connect laptop to internet?

I can't tell you info as to details for your specic computer and phone.. but can tell you in general (as i do it with a dell laptop and a Motorola phone)

First and most important, is you probably need a software application that targets this functionality. i don't believe you're going to get it work "right out of the box"
The phones can be "tethered" to your laptop or not (and sometimes that's the wireless carriers choice and not a matter if the hardware can do it)
Tethered means it requires a cable to connect phone and laptop
Un-tethered is the obvious then. No cable. In my case, i use bluetooth on my phone and computer. Nice advantage is not having to plug/unplug a darn cable as u walk in /. out of the room. I;ll walk out and lose my Bluetooth connection, and then walk back in..here the beeping 10 secs until they reconnect

If I want those computers to have access to my network, do I need to set the VPN up on the phone and it trickles down to the laptops or do I just connect with the hotspot like normal and use a VPN client on each of the computers?

Hi Everyone,

My boss uses her phone as the wireless access point for getting on line.

She has all her business data/Quickbooks on this lappy, so, I was wondering if anyone could shed some light on what I can do to keep this secure for her.

I know how to keep her secure if she was using a router, but using the phone has me scratching my head.

Edit: She is using a software firewall, which is better than nothing, but, I'm concerned about someone leeching off her connection.

Any help appreciated.

Thank You,

Sphere

Answer:Using Cell Phone As A Mobile Access Point

The cell phone should still show up as a connection in network places.....so firewall settings apply.

Is she connecting via USB connection to the phone? If so...I wouldn't worry about someone leeching from the connection...how would they?

Or..if using bluetooth...use a good pairing password with her phone...not some default one.

Don't leave the administrator account with a blank password.

For months, I used Quick Link Mobile to utilize my cell phone, via a USB serial port cable, as a modem. OS is Win XP, phone is an LG, software and cable are marketed through Verizon, manufactured by Smith Micro. My drive crashed last winter and I had to reinstall everything on a new drive. Now, the software cannot fund the phone. I have been in conversation with Smith Micro and Verizon tech support for two months. No advice other than uninstall and reinstall.

When I use the "add new hardware option" to add the phone, it finds it on COM4, and a signal is sent through the cable. When I launch the QLM software it initiates a setup process that hangs up when it tries to find the phone.

The device manager shows the USB - serial drivers as operating property.

I wonder about some kind of IRQ conflict. How do I track something like that down?

I am on the road a lot and this connection is essential to me!

Hi all.

I am considering purchasing a phone with Wifi capabilities. I have a wireless internet connection at home which is routed by a Motorola SGB900 Wireless Surfboard gateway.

I already have 2 wireless computers (1 laptop and 1 PC) connected wirelessly. If I purchase a Wifi phone, will I be able to connect to the internet via this wireless connection?

My work also offers free wireless to all employees and I am able to connect my laptop there. Will a Wifi phone be able to connect to my work network?

Also, will the Wifi connection cost me anything from my phone provider as using WAP does?

Thanks all

Hello i have a laptop, with Network & Modem i want to connet to the internet using my Nokia 5110 what do i need and what do i do or is it even possiable p.s i have a Nokia 5110 Data Cable (Sirial)

Thanks for any replys!

Answer:Mobile Internet using mobile phone

a serial data cable can't connect to the internet.
First of all you need a data capable phone which I don't think the 5110 can.

You need a 6210 or 7110 etc more info on nokia website

Even with data phone I've never heard of a suitable cable but you can connect using infrared adapter - you need infrared capability on phone too. I guess it would be dead slow too.

if you want to connect to internet on laptop but a nokia card phone. You put it in you PCMCIA slot after putting your SIM into it and it acts like your phone. It's fast and reliable but about 150 GBP

I personally use a cable modem with a wireless router to connect my computers and gaming systems to the internet. For some of my games that I play online with my Nintendo Wii I have had problems connecting with my friends online. I read online forums and found that the fix to this problem is for me and my friends have to locate the IP address of our wii, and then go into my router settings and temporarily put the Wii outside of the DMZ while playing the game. I have done this and it works fine.

However I have one friend that uses his cell phone to connect his Nintendo Wii to the internet.

Does anyone know how he can put his Wii console outside of the DMZ using his cell phone. Sorry I don't know what the make and model of his phone is. Does DMZ settings only apply to wireless internet connections? Would using your cell phone to connect to the internet be considered Wired or Wireless internet. Technically there is a cable that runs from the cell phone to the Wii, but i would assume since it is a cell phone it would be considered a Wireless Internet Connection (or Satelitte Internet Connection). I appreciate any advice or suggestions you might have.

Just found out that the phone is a LG Venus and his carrier is Verizon.

If that Helps.

Answer:Internet thru Cell Phone

Well using a Cell Phone would be considered wireless. But i dont think that you can set it outside the DMZ due to the fact that you are not connecting it via a router. It is using the providers service. So i really dont think there is a way to set it up to work like that.

Your best option with that would be to contact the provider and see if there is a way.

Answer:Connectiong Pc With Wxp Sp2 To Internet Via Cell Phone

Hi DC3,

I tried that last year with lots of problems. You have to have a "data" type connection. Very expensive here vrs standard dial up or even cable modem. They wanted $10/500K downloaded. That would be one night for me. I tried it for a month, but it never connected correctly. That was a year ago so things maybe better now... hopefully cheaper. It was a cool thought, but I opted out.

Good luck,

I'm not much into cell phone tech and am happy with my 300i but it's starting to show it's age. My contract is up too so it's time to replace it. I'm on at&t in Colorado and would change networks but I need to keep the same number (business use). With that in mind I'd like a phone that can access the internet so I can check my gmail and web calendar and also access things that are handy on the road like news, weather and maps etc. I don't text much either. Any additional functionality would be handy like reading ebooks, camera, video etc. I don't particularly care about media like mp3 or video. I never use my current phone for playing mp3s and can't see that changing. I also see my internet usage being quite low so what plan would suit me?

I like the flip phone I have now as it's protected and very small but would like a decent sized screen for browsing. I use an online calendar with my wife so just being able to sync isn't as useful as real time checking of dates (we share a studio and need to check the availability before booking it).

As for cost, lowest possible. I'm not into flashy phones so the latest greatest isn't what I'm after. Tech from a while back would probably suit me fine.

What model/plan in your opinion is the best buy for me?

Go to where you bought the cell phone.
Depending on the model type, there may be software packages available for that phone that will accomplish this. However, there is usually a monthly fee also associated with it. Just a heads up.

For about 3 months now my Sanyo SCP-4700 cell phone has been involved with an intermittent problem. When trying to connect to the Internet via Dialer201, a message (Port disconnected due to hardware failure) pops up. After changing ports, port settings, Input/output range settings, and modem settings also memory cards, software (Dialer3), data cables, the problem still persists

When I agreed to a contract with Spinet, in that all calls I make would include data calls, I set up my computer with a clean windows Me image. I then installed Dialer201, then saved this operating system image to two hard drives a CD ROM disk and another storage type disk. At this time I was using a Sprint Quallcomm Kyocera phone.
The Sprint Quallcomm Kyocera phone worked well with this set up and I never had any persistent problem connecting to the Internet. Unfortunately this phone failed after a year and had to be replaced. Like the Kyocera, the Sanyo phone has shown no persistent problem with the operating system I have been using, until three months ago.

In order to remove the possibility that this is a software or an operating system problem, I have restored the original operating system image a number of times and still the problem persists.

When the message; Port disconnected due to hardware failure pops up, the port becomes non active and at this point when trying to connect, Dialer returns message (Could not open Sprint PCS Phone port (COM1)). And from there, the only way to be able to... Read more

I'm going on holiday tomorrow to Morocco.

I'll get a local SIM for my mobile (it is an ancient S3 mini). I want to use it to access internet (either tethering using the USB cable or making a WiFi hotspot I don't care) with my PC.

Is there anything I should consider? Do I need to get a data SIM rather than a voice one or it does not matter any more?

Basically, should I get a data SIM (more expensive) or a normal (voice) one? Or is it the same from a computer point of view? Obviously I'll check the rates.

Answer:Pre-emptive help with cell phone internet access

The way I understand what you want to do is that you want to have the phone get internet access from your computer? The phone has WiFi.... if the computer is going to connect to the internet with WiFi, then why can't the phone just connect to the same WiFi? Or is your internet connection to the computer going to be by ethernet (wired) only?

If you want the computer to access internet through the phone, then to make the connection between the phone and the computer, I would recommend the EasyTether app. It will connect the computer to the phone either through a USB cable or through bluetooth. EasyTether has worked great for me and does work on Windows 10. Again, if the phone is connected to the internet by WiFi, then the computer should be able to as well. If not, then you will need a data SIM card for the phone.

I have purchased an old Compaq Armada 7400 Notebook. I am wanting to connect it to my cell phone to access the internet, but I have no clue as to what hardware I need, or how to go about it. Does anyone know about this subject, or of any helpful links?

Thanks in advance! Oh, another problem is that this laptop only has one bay which can hold EITHER the floppy drive OR the DVD/CDROM drive at a time....SO...how in the heck could you wipe it and do a clean OS install, when removing one of the drives while booted locks the thing up?

Answer:Solved: Connecting Laptop To A Cell Phone?

Ok, what you will need to do is make sure that your armada has an IR port, and that your mobile has one as well. You will need to go to the website of your Mobile phone manufacturer and see if they have the software to support connectivity this way.
And you can do a clean install using the CD media that your Operating system comes on. It's not necessary to boot from a floppy first, as the Cds should be bootable.

I have an HP Pavilion dv8130us. It came with Bluetooth and I turned it off a long time ago. I have since then done a lot of things to my computer such as replacing hard drives, OS and such.  Well now I want to retrieve pics from my cell phone camera. It also has blue tooth. I looked at my drivers and didn't see anything so I went to HP website to get the drivers.  Now I have a bluetooth icon in the lower right corner of my desktop but when I right click on it, it says"bluetooth device not found"  How do I proceed with investigating my bluetooth device?  Jim  running  XP Pro.  my wireless internet works, and is turned on. I look at the HP Wireless Assistant and the bluetooth is listed but I don't see an option to turn it on.

Answer:Trying to get pictures from cell phone camera to my laptop.

Have you tried e-mailing your picture (from your cell phone) to yourself? If you can't, can you send it to someone who has the cell phone with that capability? It seems to me these would be the "easier" answers to the immediate problem.ASlater

Hi all.. I am hoping someone can help me. I am trying to put a program with some JAR and TAR files on my phone. I have connected my phone which is an LG env3 to my laptop (with windows 7) via bluetooth.. It connects fine and I can even send pictures files from my laptop to my phone... but when I try to transfer a JAR file I am getting different error messages.. First I click on send to phone from my laptop, then I attach the file and click on the LG phone and it says copying but then says "request could not be honored." So then I clicked on the phone and then choose a folder like music or pictures and I got the message "incorrect permission" Can anyone tell me what I need to do to fix this? are some phones just not compatible with the JAR files? Do I need to change the JAR files to a different type of file? It is a java enabled phone so I dont see why it wont work... Anyway I appreciate any advice if any of you have any. Thanks!!

Fellow Geeks,
I've heard somewhere that other then 802.11g etc technology (which requires a nearby "hotspot"), a laptop can use a special NIC that uses Cell / Satelite technology to connect to the web - anywhere (well, anywhere a cell phone can receive reception).
Does Verizon or Sprint sell these and offer these accounts?
Thanks,

OK, i am trying to access the internet using the GPRS connection on my phone. I have the wire that goes from my phone to the computer, and thats fine, and I have a connnection thingie set up.

My computer 'dials up' or something, and then it says:

"TCP/IP connected successfully.
IPX or compatible CP reported error 733: A connection on the remote computer could not be completed. You may need to adjust the protocols on this computer. For further assistance, click More Info or search Help and Support Centre for this error number.
Press Accept to use the connectoin as is, or Hang Up to disconnect."

It then has a little checkbox thing that says "do not request the failed protocols next time". I leave this clear, and click accept.

And then it has a little balloon thing in the bottom left that says "Siemens MC60 GPRS connection now connected, Speed 114.2 kbps".

And then when i try and go onto a web page it doesnt work!

Help!

Answer:Internet with my Mobile Phone

You have two issues. First off, you don't need the IPX protocol, so I'd check the box that says don't try the failed protocols. For the lack of connections, try this when you're connected.

Open a DOS window and type:

IPCONFIG /ALL >C:RESULT.TXT

Open C:\RESULT.TXT with Notepad and copy/paste the entire results here.

Hi folks
I have an HTC Wildfire S. Usually, when I click on the internet icon, the phone connects to the internet (after about 20 or 30 seconds).
However, there is also an option on my phone to turn on the wi-fi, before attempting to connect to the internet.
Can someone please advice the purpose of this wi-fi and the pros/cons of turning it on prior to attempting to connect to the internet.
Thanks in advance for your response.

Answer:What is the best way to get connected to the internet using my mobile phone?

My understanding, and I use this on my Blackberry is that when you connect to the internet by just clicking on the icon on your phone you are receiving it via the 3G network - the cost of doing this is included in your "package" and you need to check what your limit is.
Using the wifi option is for local area connections to wifi hotspots/home networks etc when you will be using the private internet networks - if you connect to your home router, for example, or a router in someone else's home, you will be using the broadband connection and no extra costs should be incurred. When you connect to a wifi hotspot in a public place you may or may not have to pay. If you have a set limit on your phone's 3G internet provision then it would be more economical to connect to the internet by wifi whenever you can.
The beauty of having an internet ready phone is that you can tether it to a laptop to receive the internet on the go through the mobile 3G network - again this may or may not mean that you will have to pay a "bundle" charge - I have to purchase a bundle when I take my laptop abroad and connect this way with my Blackberry (it can be expensive so is only used when really necessary.
Hope this helps - and hope I have explained it properly. All works for me this way anyway.

Hi Folks
I have a smart phone which enables me to connect to the internet.
When I touch the internet explorer icon, the phone connects to the internet (eventually).
However, I have got wireless internet at home and my mobile phone also has wi-fi facility.
Can you tell me what is the best way to get connected - shall I just press the internet explorer icon to get connected to the internet (which I am doing at the moment), or shall I enable my wi-fi facility on the phone, and then connect to the internet? Also, what method should I use when I am not at home?
Can someone also please explain the advantages/disadvantages of connecting either way.
Thanks in advance for your responses.

Answer:What is the best way to connect to the internet using my mobile phone?

You haven't mentioned the type of phone - Android, Apple or other - but, in general, if you have access to your wireless router at home, that's the best way to connect. You'll have the benefit of the full speed of your home broadband service. There's no additional cost involved and you aren't using up your data allowance.
When not at home or somewhere that allows you WiFi internet access, then you need to use the phone's "mobile data" service. Depending on where you are, the connection may be 2G (GPRS/EDGE) or 3G (3G or HSDPA). An Android phone will indicate the type of connection you've got with the symbols G, E, 3G or H.

A friend has asked me how he can connect his Nokia Mobile phone to the Internet using an external 56k modem. I have no idea how to do this. Can anyone help?

Answer:Connect to internet via mobile phone

probably doesn't need to be connected to a modem - if it's a recent model it will have one built-in. If the friend wants to connect to the internet he must know that the phone can display web sites, and if it can do that it can connect on its own - no external devices will be necessary.Warn him that surfing the net in this fashion will have a pretty hefty imapct on his next bill.

Hi I am replacing my laptop and mobile phone, and would like to be able to make/receive calls/texts on a laptop with my mobile phone SIM card installed. Is this possible with the X220? If so, how do I do it? Do I need extra equipment/software? I understand it would have to be kept on a lot, and that I would need a suitable SIM from a mobile phone network. A lot of the online answers to this question seem to contradict each other. Many thanks for your help.

Answer:X220 SIM to use laptop as mobile phone

I used my phone's SIM card in my computer to test HSPA for an hour.  My intention was only to test it because I was evaluating different broadband technologies.  Nevertheless, AT&T sent me an email the next day warning me that my service plan didn't allow my SIM card to be used in a broadband card and that my data plan would be shut off if I continued to use the SIM card in the laptop.  Thankfully by that point I had already finished my tests. Another alternative you might consider is to tether your phone.  Android can do it.  Windows Phone 7 (my phone) doesn't officially support it, but several models have the feature built in by the manufacturers.  I don't know about iPhone.  Before I got WWAN on my computer, I frequently tethered without being hassled by AT&T.

Answer:Wireless conection between mobile phone and laptop

Marky_BhoyYou can connect the phone to the laptop - but not using Wi-Fi (Wireless LAN).The laptop can connect to the phone and then connect to an isp (like FreeServe) using the modem built into the phone. This is essentially treating the mobile like a standard telephone socket - connecting you to the isp using the mobile and your mobile network. Therefore you can connect when you have mobile coverage. You can 'connect' to the phone using the Infra-red link on the laptop. The mobile should be ready to go out of the box if you have Windows XP Pro. Just activate IR on the phone, make sure IR is active on the PC and point the IR ports towards each other. The 610 also has Bluetooth - another method of connection that does not require a 'line of sight' connection between the phone and laptop. However, the A10 does not have Bluetooth so will need an adaptor (between 20 and 40).All this connectivity is great, but can be slow and expensive. If you have GPRS, then connection speeds are almost as fast as a standard dial-up connection, but you normally pay per MB - check with your mobile network (anything from 50p - 3).Wi-Fi is another story and has nothing to do with the mobile. You can connect the A10 to Wi-Fi hotspots without a mobile. The laptop has a built in chip and transceiver that allows it to communicate with Wi-Fi access points. These hotspots have a short range - maybe a few hundred metres at most, and are not widespread in the UK yet. Click here to find out more on Wi-fi... Read more

I have a very strange problem that has been ongoing and I can't figure it out.

I have a Sony Vaio (VGN-BX563B) laptop where the wireless connection conflics with my mobile phones ability to get onto my home wifi (and vice versa).

Let me explain (if I can)...

If the wifi is off on my phone, the laptop can connect without a problem... If I then try to connect my phone, it can't get an IP address from the router. As soon as I turn off wifi on the wireless adaptor on the laptop, the phone get an IP address without a problem.

Also, if the wireless is on on the phone, the laptop is unable to connect to the network, but as soon as I turn wifi off on the phone, the laptop connects.

Here is the really strange part...

I have had this problem in every situation I have tried...

I have used two different phones (a WM device and an Android), I have tried to run both Windoes XP and Linux (Ubuntu 9.10) on the laptop, I have tried both the internal wireless adapter on the laptop and an external adapter and I have tried two different routers (a Linksys that I don't remember the model number and a Buffalo WHR-HP-G54).

All of these configurations resulted in the exact same problem.

I can't fathom how this is even possible, let alone come up with a way to fix the problem.

As a note, I have other wireless devices (a printer, a digital picture frame and another laptop) that don't cause conflicts with either device.

The only constant in the problem is the Sony ... Read more

Have set up a bluetooth-enabled laptop to communicate with a Nokia 6310i for someone so they can collect/send emails. This is currently done using a dial-up connection to a normal ISP so is painfully slow and no good for large attachments.Someone has said to the user they should think about using GPRS instead. What difference will this make - and more to the point how do you actually do it??

Answer:Mobile Phone/Laptop/Dial up/GPRS ??

The Mobile phone will be connected to the Always On GPRS which is like the internet connection which you have for your computer. The computer will have a connection to the mobile phone which has the internet connection and will use this to wirelessly connect to the internet.I'm not sure if this will be any quicker because GPRS is not very fast and it will also cost a lot because you get charged per Kb.Charence

Oh lord, the LG phones (though in and of themselves excellent) have a tough time connecting to PC. Go to settings. Find about phone. Go to software info. Keep poking Build Number until a box says you're a developer. Go back and now there should be a settings box for developer options. Choose ON, and turn on usb debugging and always screen on. Go to the homescreen and then see if it is recognized.

Years ago Microsoft introduced Internet Connection Sharing in Windows 98 Second Edition. It worked great as a second computer on a Network could work through a Dial-Up Modem on the Win98SE computer to access the Internet. I haven't checked whether such a feature still exists in WinXP and newer.

Ok, this is a big one......After recieving my lovely new Sony Erikson W995 mobile phone I decided to try and connect to my home wireless router, which it did succesfully, happy days. Later, on my laptop I tried to connect as usual to the same router and a window pops up saying another device with the exact same number or something was trying to access something, sorry can't remember the exact words. And so since then neither device has managed to connect to the Netgear router which has worked just perfectly for the last year or so. So I assume its something to do with the new and brief connection I made with my new phone?? Has the router auto-shut out any devices? I did have to put my router passphrase in to get it to connect. My laptop recognises the router still but says no internet source is coming from it. I've checked all connections, reinstalled, clicked and unclicked various settings etc.My laptop is fine albeit very slow on the vodafone mobile dongle I'm using now so its not the laptop. However when attempting to connect to the router it pops up so say "The settings on this network do not match the network settings on this computer". Fair enough but as my mobile phone isn't connecting either...oh dear....what the hell is going on!!!!! HEELLLLLPPPPP!I do apologise, and many thanks for looking.

Answer:Wifi stopped working with laptop & mobile phone

You have to set ics (Internet connection sharing) and now you will have to set up network address again.
