Preferred Solution: Kyocera 2530 scanning to network pcs?

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Answer: Kyocera 2530 scanning to network pcs?

we have a Lanier 2135 (i belive) that does network scanning.

Basically, you set up the scanner/printer/copier/coffee maker/jukebox on the network.

Then install the management software on a computer that will never be turned off (server), then the software should be able to find the scanner via broadcast/responce, and establish the connection.

Then you should be able to assign a directory on the network where the management software will dump the processes scans.

Here's a tough question for you network gods...
I work for the NHS and have been asked about getting mobile printing set up across the trust. Our mobile devices connect to our WiFi range which is 10.96 and all of our LAN devices connect to either 10.179 or 10.231 (10.231 will be our new range once all sites are changed over)
The Kyocera mobile application will only search for SNMP devices on the local network (10.96). Is there a way that I can get the 10.96 range to include results from both 10.179 and 10.231?
Our print servers are on Server 2008 R2.
Any help at all would be greatly appreciated!!
Thanks,
Dan

downloaded yesterday for an important installation where I was very afraid to use 64-bit Windows 7 in real production environment with non-technical users. older Kyocera model, fortunately has a fairly recent wad-respin tagged for x64 Windows 7 & Vista. Ran multiple tries as Administrator, user, compatibility mode, debug mode. nada.
could not install the drivers.

i see all the files necessary right there but they don't clue me as to whether the driver files themselves are 32bit or 64.

any idea how to hack this in?

Answer:Kyocera Network Printer FAIL. supposedly Win7 Driver package

Short of just running the installer one quick and easy way to check is to locate any INF files and look for anything mentioning "AMD64", if that is present then the drivers will be/work on 64 bit Windows.

Hi guys, This is my first post on the forum, so here goes.I have an Epson WF 2530 printer which I bought new from Tesco's around 18 months ago and up to now it has done everything that it's been asked to do, untill today. When I want to print a document it just rolls out a blank sheet and an error report on the lcd display says " Paper out. Load paper and press OK " even though there is ample paper present. Just to rule it out, I have taken the printhead out, cleaned and replaced it as well as replaced the ink  cartridgesAnother furum I viewed says that it is a fault with the paper sensor however I've no idea where to locate it.Any suggestions would be welcome.      Thanks         Hamer.

I have installed a Procurve 2530 j9773a switch for a customer. However when trying to add it to PCM it connects and successfully sees the SNMP community, however it then hangs on discovering devices. The software is quite old now, so my query is do we need to update the version of software or is there MIB like file for this switch we need to import before hand. If the software needs to be updated, does anyone know of a chart to compare which switch models are compatible with which version of update. Any information would be helpful.

Every time I try to print anything, my WF-2530 feeds a sheet through and reports paper out. The unit has seen little use and has never had a paper jam. I have carefully loaded only a few sheets of regular 20 lb paper and it does it every time. I have done the same with some Kodak photo paper for inkjet and gotten the same results. It simply does not detect that there is paper loaded.

I have tried resetting the unit, powering off then on, disconnecting and reconnecting the power cord. Nothing causes it to recognize that paper is loaded after it feeds the first sheet through. Press the 'OK' button and it will feed another sheet and continue to report 'paper out'.

I don't want to replace such a lightly used printer. If I can correct whatever is wrong with the paper sensor it would be a blessing. Help!

Ok, so I've got a Dell Dimension 2530 a client brought in the other day wanting a fresh install of XP Home Edition on there.

Having being an older system with no recovery partition and hanging on the windows screen more times than not I popped in my XP HOME OEM DVD.

FIRST FAIL - No DVD drive...wouldn't read my external DVD drive...Having plenty on hand I popped one in for his main ROM Drive.

Booted up into the DVD fine...DELETED his old partition and reformatted just fine.

SECOND FAIL - Wake up and the installation hung up right near the end before you enter a user name and your authentication of windows for the system.

Normally when something like this has happened to me I can reboot the PC and it will resume the installation. This time that was not the case it posts, then goes to a black screen with a white blinking underscore for about 40 seconds like its trying to access my DVD...then the screen goes blank completely. ALT f4 wouldn't work and it sat there for a period of time...SO option one...I did some things in BIOS so I restored it to default....to no avail...

This same thing happens to me when trying to boot to JUST the ROM drive.

I'm a tech by trade, but a beginning tech. Any help on this issue would be most appreciated.

Answer:Dell Dimension 2530 Completely STUMPED!

I would suggest testing the hard drive using the manufacturer diagnostics.

I am trying to upgrade my computer to Vista Business, but I only have about 42MB left of hard drive capacity. Does anybody knows what the difference is between 300GB 5400 RPM Universal SATA - 8MB and 300GB 7200 RPM Universal SATA -16MB. I aqppreciate your advise, and thank you in advance.

Answer:Wishing to upgrade hardrive of Think Pad 2530 - z60m, from 100MB to 300MB

The difference is the speed and buffer, the latter drive being faster and having twice the buffer and it will perform a lot better than the first one. Please be advised that you have to stay with 32-bit Vista on your Z60m, 64-bit will not install on it. Hope this helps.

Does anyone know of a free (open source, freeware, etc.) utility that would allow a computer to scan files over a network? I've found solutions for linux, os/2 and Mac, but not for windows (except for expensive software such as PaperPort ($99) and Remote Scan ($39)). Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Answer:scanning over a network?

If $39 is considered expensive, the answer is probably no.

I am not sure if this is a Win 7 problem, MS Office problem or whatever. If I have posted this inappropriately, please forgive and I will go away.

I am running Office 2003 under Windows 7 RC. My HP All in One Photosmart 2575 is connected to my network via the router and prints just fine. However, Microsoft Office Document Scanning does not recognize the device as a scanner. The 'Choose Scanner' box is empty. If I connect the All in One to a USB port, Document Scanning finds the scanner and it works as expected.

What must I do to get the All in One to be detected as a scanner under Win7 when connected as a network device?

Thank you very much.

Answer:Scanning on a Network

Hi,

Unfortunately this is a regular issue with MFD type printers where the printer firmware includes the code required for network use but the scanner firmware does not.

Unless you have a printer/scanner which support network printing (not common in the SOHO area I am unaware of anything that can add the functionality

I would be pleased to be proved incorrect in this if anyone knows of proven solutions

I searched and only found one forum listing - but no threads - for ipp and scanner.

Vista print fax & scan - Page 101 - Vista Forums
I have an HP OfficeJet 5600 all-in-one Scanner/Fax/Copier/Printer attached currently via USB to my wife's Vista (32-bit) workstation.

I have two laptops connected via wireless which I use primarily. Both use Ubuntu 9.04 with either Win7 or XP under VirtualBox.

I bought a Cisco/Linksys WPS 54G Wireless print server to allow access to the two laptops for printing. It sets up a internet shared printer which can be used by all.

Here's the product: Linksys by Cisco - WPS54G Support

I noticed that - on my wife's workstation - I could not scan whne the printer was attached to the print server. I looked up and found solutions for using network scanning using CUPS under Ubuntu. However, i cannot seem to fnd how to do this in Vista.

Does anyone have a suggestion?

Okay, so I'm doing an editorial for my school newspaper about laptop rules and which ones I disagree with. I'm having trouble offering a solution on how to find and catch people playing Halo using the school internet connection. I suggested making punishment more severe for breaking this rule in order to allow them to unban Halo (they banned it earlier this year). I thought, in order to catch people playing they could use a program to scan all processes running on the network for Halo.exe and issue punishments to the owners of the laptops running the process (they gave us laptops to use at school and home). I thought they could scan before school, during lunch breaks, and after school (when people play Halo the most)

Anyway, my question is: Is there a program existing that will do this and identify the machine running it, and if not, would it be impossible to create one? My second question isn't necessarily computer related but if you have a better solution, please tell me.

Thanks,
Shade

I am using a HP Officejet Pro 8600 Model N911a with Windows XP. The printer/scanner is set up wirelessly. Whenever I try to scan a document I get the following error message: Scanner communication cannot be established. Ensure your product is powered on, check the connection, and ensure your network is functioning properly. If these conditions are correct, restart the product and try scanning again. If you are installed using a cable connection (USP or Ethernet), ensure both ends of the cable are secure. If you installed this printer by IP address, then you might need to update the IP address. Use the Update IP Address item in the Start menu entry for this printer. If you are running firewall software, it may be blocking scan communication. Please visit www.hp.com/go/wirelessprinting for help configuring firewall.

I have tried all of their troubleshooting advice, I have run the hp scan doctor, and reconnected everything a restarted everything many times, all with the same result. Printing still works fine. It is just scanning that I can't do.

I have been having some problems with scan jobs being severely delayed when scanning to a network folder. First of all, we have eliminated the scanners as the culprit from our vendor.

We have our scanjobs folder stored on a SAN and basically we noticed recently that someone would scan a document, and then it would never show up in the scanjobs folder for that user. Most of the time, users had a shortcut to their scanjobs folder on their desktop is where the job would not show.

However, if they opened my computer, and then drilled down through the network folders, the scanjob would be there. But then that stopped happening. But If I went through and drilled down through the network folders, I would see the job there, then the user would go back and do the same and they could see it finally.

What am I missing here?

Answer:Scanning to network folder on SAN

Did you get this figured out? I have something similar going on and have been running the possibilities around for a while now. If I didn't hate this ridiculous system so much, i might even mention the name of the biggest postage meter company that has attached it's name to this system. Not good. I hear the IRS uses it to, that explains something.

I am helping a friend's Aunt and Uncle keep costs down on their new business network. I have a 24port switch and a Network attached storage device with a firewall on it too, but I need to have some sort of antivirus for the workstations.

Is it possible to have one computer with a paid version of an antivirus, scan all of the other computers over the network. That is, if I set all of the workstations to full share on the c: drive (I know it's not secure) and scan all of the computers from over the network.

Any other comments or suggestions on how to keep costs down for the new business for an antivirus solution would be great.

Answer:Scanning for Viruses over network

Ive looked into this too.

From what I have gathered there is no virus software short of something that only IBM, Dell, Microsoft, and other fortune 500 companies could afford that would do this task.

The easiest way is to just install virus scan on each workstation and tell it to scan at like 3am so it doesnt interfear with any work.

I know some people here have used these...

I setup an FTP server on a local machine and dump the files there. however, I'd like to go to a network share and cannot get it to work.

Also looking for a solution to sync folders between locations automatically. So site A scans can be avail on the lan at site b.

Ideas?

I'm thinking about setting up an FTP server at site b, but ideally would like to have the folder sync'd at both ends.

Answer:Brother network scanning

I have setup a few 8480dn's to scan to network shares without issue. I created a new user on the server that had rights to write to the share, accessed the web interface on the printer, entered the username, password, and share location, and the rest was history.

I use rsync with cron to sync stuff on linux servers, I don't know an easy way to do it on windows. A not so easy way is to install something like syncback and put that on a schedule.

As for instant sync on either os's, no idea...

I am helping a friend's Aunt and Uncle keep costs down on their new business network. I have a 24port switch and a Network storage device with a firewall on it too, but I need to have some sort of antivirus for the computers.

There are 24 computers for the site, and all of the pricing I have done for that many computers is from $600-$3000 depending where I look.

Since this is a startup, they have very little cash to spend, and that kind of money is just NOT there. Are there any cheap/free business alternative anti-viruses? Piracy is NOT an option, they don't need to be sued.

OR, can I set every computer on the network with full access to the c:\ drive (I know, it's not secure) and have one computer with a paid AV, scan all of the other computers over the network?

Are there any other alternatives?

Thanks for advice.

Cliffs.
1) Setting up cheap network for new business
2) VERY tight budget
3) Need anti-virus solution on the cheap

I'm having an issue scanning to a network computer from a Xerox WorkCentre 6505. I set up the computer through the scanning utility as well as through the address book editor that you can download from the Xerox site.

Server Name/IP Address: WATERSTONEIIADM
Share Name: SCAN_MY297433$
Path:
Login Name: XEROX_5RCot271
Password (assigned by the Computer Settings wizard)
Port Number: 139 (this is the default port number)

Server Type: Computer (SMB)
Server Name/IP Address: 192.168.1.100
Share Name: Scanning (file://WATERSTONEIIADM
Path:
Login Name:
Port Number: 139

Neither of the options are working. I get error 031-528 (server not found). The scan to email isn't working either, but I figured I'd work on one thing at a time. my pc is port scanning my dad's pc and presumably the others on my home network. Port scans coming from my ip are sent out in small amounts constantly/sporadically or in large amounts every 10 minutes. It seems to vary. along with this while playing games (CS:GO mainly) my ping can be 30-50 for the whole session (sometimes 4-5 hours), sometimes it will be 100+ and even exceed 500, and sometimes i will just disconnect from the internet for atleast 25 seconds. I don't remember when it started but it has been going on for a while and i decided to try and fix it now. when idle i have seen rainmeter show upload of 300-800b/s and less frequently 1-5 Kb/s

Just a quick one guys, do you have any recommendations in terms of asset scanning and inventory systems?

We are after something fairly simple where it can go off and crawl a network then report back to us the machines it found and we can export that data in to CSV or other.

We already have a helpdesk system, but need something that can gather the info and give us it back in an exportable fashion, so we can import it in to our helpdesk system.

Any thoughts/ideas?

The only game I have had trouble with is Minecraft (Mojang version not Win 10)scanning for games on local network not working.
My desktop is an ethernet connection to an actiontec MI424-WR Rev I
All other laptops on wireless connection can see each other. I even tried one of the laptops on Ethernet using my ethernet cable and it still works.
I can direct connect i.e 192.168.1.6:50736 for example.

Here's what I have tried.
- all computers are using the same version of Minecraft 1.11
- checked firewall entries. Turned off firewall.
- Tried port forwarding. Except this doesn't make sense because all the other laptops are connected to same router and they work without the forced port forwarding.
- Took an empty disk drive and did a clean install of Windows 10 pro and then tried Minecraft. Scanning for games on local network does NOT WORK.
- I have uninstalled malwarebytes and admuncher and turned off Windows defender.

Where do I go from here? All my steam games work. Maybe minecraft just doesnt work for some computers?

Have a Kyocera KM 5035 Printer/Copier/Scanner combo.  Occasionally the printer has a message to replace excess toner box.  I do this...question is what to do with the box??  Is it safe to trash or is there some place that recycles the stuff.  thanx

Answer:Kyocera Printer

Office Depot, Staples, etc. love to recycle old ink cartridges, so I bet they would welcome this too.

I was wondering how I could unlock ringtones and download pictures?

I bought a data cable off the ebays, but it obviously requires some kind of software for the pc that I don't have. When I connect the phone via the USB, it just kind of locks up. Dang.

Thank the gods that I only spent $6 on it, but it'd be cool if I could get it to work.

I keep finding references to "MPT" when I go a'googlin, but can't seem to find a good or safe download of that either. And I'll be damned if I have to PAY for that! LOL

I already bought the dang phone, why can't I use all of it's features too? Greedy SOB's!

Yeah, I'm not exactly a pirate or anything either, I NEVER download music or movies, as I've actually had an old roomate get sued for that about 4 years ago. They wanted something INSANE like $35,000 from him. He made about $18k a year teaching at USF. He's still screwed, going on 5 years later!

But seriously, is there a freeware kind of thing that will let me accomplish the same thing?

And if so, what is it!?

P.S.- Before somebody suggests it...I CAN'T BUY A NEW PHONE RIGHT NOW! Some Einstein always says, "Just buy a new/better one". It gets tedious, folks!

And as always, I very much appreciate any help!

Answer:I have a POS Kyocera K312 and...

Ok, after searching the forums a bit.... found out it can just be purchased from Kyocera.

I have a major issue on the computer I work with. I just got this job about a month ago and I found out I inherited a problem from the last IT guy. My Kyocera needs repair: the flash seems to have lost strength. Though it goes off, the resulting picture is barely visible when I use it indoors.

I love that little swivel-camera and am willing to pay a reasonable price to have it repaired.

The Kyocera camera phone numbers (that I've used for previous repairs) are disconnected. Where can I find a reliable repair shop?

First post here.
There is no Windows 7 driver for my old but very reliable Kyocera FS-680 printer.
I saw a post on a German forum that said I could use a Vista driver 'and say a prayer it'll work' but I'm reluctant to try that.
Am I stuck with buying a new printer?
Is there anyone out there with a solution to this?
Thanks,

Hi Ian, Vista drivers will in most cases work for Windows 7. Whoever states otherwise doesn't know much. Try this driver, Kyocera FS-680 KX driver v.4.4.0403 download for Windows Vista

Hi all Hope everyone is doing well )
My query is with regards to a 3750kx printer which is networked in my office. This beast is worth a few Grand with extra paper trays which we have installed.
The issue we are experiencing involves the printer going to sleep and not waking up (Even if we run an echo command to cancel sleep mode on the printer).
IT then needs a turn off and on again for the document to be spooled and printed which is strange as used to work ok i believe but is old so fair enough right lol.

I called out a repair Tech and he tried to say was network problem on our side however I am pretty sure this isnt the case as why would it start printing after being turned off.
The problem can not be pinned down to one part of the printer as the tech guy said could possibly be a faulty Main logic Board or Engine board based in UK cost of board and repair is £245 but doesnt garentee that fixing logic unit will cease the problem and could be engine board. A phat load of help that was really as im not willing to pay that for the printer to possibly not be fixed. Is there a ping command or a way around it so peeps dont have to turn on an off all the time.
Thanks for listening to me babbbllee on failing a fix maybe a HP 1320 duplex may be good idea as close to repair fee and i know a new printer will work hehe )
p.s will printing direct to printer make a difference as oposed to spooling im not too clued up about this im afraid

Answer:A sleepy Kyocera 3750kx

First off I would check powersave mode if its on disable it and see if the problem keeps happening. I notice alot of very OLD PC's with powersave enabled sometimes don't act the way they should anymore.

Second how is the printer hooked up to your network? Is it connected ot a PC and you guys do network print sharing? Is it hooked directly to a network via an internal card or is there a box its plugged into that then is hooked into an ethernet wire? Each of these can be points of failure on the printing side.

What I would do is determine the last item in the chains IP address and once it "goes to sleep" try pinging the IP of the device that is connected to it (either the computer the printer is connected to OR the print server box OR the internal print server) this will tell you if communications is at least getting as far as that last point.

If its a print to 1 computer that the printer is hooked up to scenario have you checked that PC's spool information?

Hi,

I have a Kyocera FS-1030D printer. It was working fine until this morning. As far as I am aware no settings have been changed on it, I can ping the printer but when I try to connect to the interface through my browser it times out. Anything I sent to be printed on it errors.

Can anybody please advise what may be wrong or how I troubleshoot it? The toner is fairly new and I have restarted it but neither made any difference.

Cheers

I have a much-loved Kyocera Mita FS-3800 KX which is still working perfectly from my Samsung Laptop using Windows 7. Unfortunately my 7 year old Dell desktop has died, and I am now struggling with this much-unloved new software, Windows 8.1, on my new HP desktop.

Although the Printers page shows the Kyocera is connected, it doesn't print, so I have downloaded the correct new 64-bit driver from the Kyocera website and am trying to install it.

Firstly, I can't see how to uninstall the old software (it doesn't show on the Control Panel/Uninstall page), and when I tried to install the new downloaded driver (using the setup.exe program in the download) I got the message "The operating system is not supported".

Microsoft strikes again. Any ideas, anyone?

BTW this is not the only gripe, but it's the major one at present!

I have a Kyocera FS-1020D printer that has printed about 45,000 pages. It now has a problem with aligning the print. When a page prints it begins printing right at the top of the page and is missing the first 1-2cm of detail. THis happens when printing documents from word etc and when printing a test page from the printer. It also happens when the paper is fed from the print tray or the manual paper feed

Answer:Kyocera FS-1020D print not aligning

Try installing the most up to date driver software for your PC according to you OS: http://www.kyoceradocumentsolutions...ownload_centre.false.driver.FS1020D._.EN.html
I know for HP, the drivers come bundled with a control center that allows you to align and clean the print heads, check ink levels, etc. Maybe the new driver will come bundled with that type of software. My printer can also clean and align the cartridges from with in the printer itself since it has a touch screen. Not sure if you can do that with yours because of the small screen. You can also take a look at your user manual for steps on how to align the cartridges. Download the manual here if you lost it: http://www.kyoceradocumentsolutions...wnload_centre.false.driver.FS1020D._.EN.html#

The network is Windows 2000.We began having trouble scanning to our workstations and printing to the all of the printer components of the Kyocera devices. I tried pinging the devices and the requests time out about 66% to 75% of the time. I can ping my workstations and my HP print devices and I get 100% return on the traffic. hello there

I have been having a problem with an old kyocera fs1000 printer I would like to get installed in XP. I have used the driver that is on the Kyocera website and it seems to get the printer installed so it shows up in "Printers and Faxes" in control panel.

The problem is that it randomly spews blank pages out for no reason, sometimes prints duplicate pages and sometimes prints pages with nothing on them except for the number 357.

I had heard of a fix that the printer should be installed as a hp 2000j using xp default drivers but haven't tried it yet since it is a customers pc and I dont have access to it at the moment. Does anyone have any other thoughts?

Hi, im having a problem with our printer, we have a Kyocera FS-1000 with 7 computers running off of it.

Now, 3 of the computers are running Windows 98 SE and it works fine for them but the others are using Windows 2000 and for some reason it wont print out of the second tray for those computers, the drivers we are using are just the ones from the CD and then i went to the Kyocera site and downloaded specific win 2000 drivers but it's still not working!

When i go to Word 2000, i click print and then i click on the properties next to the printer thats selected and in there i click the drop down box in the "Paper/Quality" Tab and it has a little yellow triangle box with an exclamation mark around the "Cassete 2" icon and when i try select it i get this error messege.

"The following settings conflict with each other."

"Paper source: Cassete 2"
"Paper Feeder: Not Installed"

Then just gives me an option to "Restore my previous settings" or "keep this setting, ill change it later".

Please help!

And i realised it said the Paper Feeder is not installed but i didnt do anything different when installing on WIN 98 SE and the second tray worked fine so its got me boggled.

Hi Everyone,

I have setup a Kyocera FS-2020D KX printer on a Windows 7 x64 computer. On the Windows 7 computer the printer is connected by LPT port. Within Windows 7 the printer is set to Share so that it is available over the network to other Workgroup Computers.

On an XP computer I have added the printer by using the Add Printer dialogue. During initial setup of the printer XP stated that it would "automatically get a driver from the host computer", however it failed to do this, and as a result presented me with an additional dialogue which I used to browse for an appropriate driver file.

I am unable to print a test page from the XP computer, furthermore there is some strange behaviour when right clicking on the printer and selecting Printing Preferences. I have created a YouTube video explaining the issues at hand (please take a look):

Kyocera Driver Issue

I believe that there is a basic incompatibility between the host (Windows 7 x64) computers drivers and those of the guest (XP); more specifically I think that these are driven by the fact that the host is 64 bit and the guest is 32 bit.

If anybody has any advice on how to overcome this issue (whilst leaving the printer connected by LPT to Windows 7 x64) can you please let me know?

Kind Regards,

Davo

You need to add the XP drivers for the Windows 7 machine. Go into devices and printers, highlight the print and click server properties at the top of the Windows. Click over to the drivers tap and click add, it will prompt you for the location of the Windows XP driver.

How do i install or upgrade the memory of this printer??

Answer:Kyocera FS-C5100DN memory chip installation

Most Kyocera's use a special memory configuration. You gain access to the slot to it is beneath the top part of the case, usually on the right side... which sometimes has to be accessed by removing screw drivers. If it is accessible, there is a diagram or photo on the Kyocera website for each model.

When I plug my new Kyocera FS720 via USB to my new Fujitsu Siemens portable running Windows XP Home I get a message saying there is a harward fault - but the mouse works when connected to the same USB port. The printer works perfectly when connected to a Toshiba Tecra USB using the same cable. Installing the printer driver I first get a warning that the supplied software is not digitally licensed (or some such term) but the process continues only falling over when I click Finish. Downloading and installing the standard KX driver from the Kyocera website I find FS720 is not listed. Because the mouse works Siemens say there is a software problem. The only speed bump I've experienced focuses around a color printer driver for our Kyocera Mita KM-C2230 with an embedded Fiery X3e rip. I hear from the manufacturer they do not intend to produce a 64-bit driver.

Any help in either getting the current driver to load and work, or thinking through a work-around would be greatly appreciated.

Found this on google while working on this issue myself and came back to post what I got working.

Setup the port as LPR, queue name print with byte counting on.

Use the built in x64 2k3 driver for the Ricoh Aficio AP3800C PS.

So far I have Color, Duplexing, Tray options working properly with this driver, but the finisher doesn't want to staple... better than it being a large paperweight though.

Hope this helps.

I need to change my cellular, but don't want to get rid of some old nice pictures I have on my Kyocera KX16, so I bought a data-cable via eBay that came with a CD. The cable plugs in on the side of my cell, and has a USB connector at the other end. SETUP was then run from the CD and there was an app called QPST that installed on my laptop. With that done, I went to check the posibility of accesing the data contained of my mobile phone but nothing happened. Reading some more, I realized one more app was needed. KPD v3.1 was then found on the web and installed it, but when run it keeps saying no phone is connected to the desktop. What am I missing?

When I first bought my CanoScan 8800F and set about scanning my old slides I was a bit enthusiastic and scanned at the default resolution. The resulting images, when printed, were poor quality. I have now started re-scanning all 124 slides at 4800dpi (or is it ppi?). The trouble is that when I enhance them or change their sizes Photoshop takes ages to complete the operation. Should I scan at 4800 or 2400 then resize the images to 600 before doing any enhancing? Is there some way to scan slides so that they print at an acceptable resolution but do not involve hours of waiting? I also want to burn the scanned images to a DVD.

Hi,

If I have a heavily infected OS and I hook it up to a working PC as an external drive and scan it, will the viruses be removed and found as well as if it was scanned directly from the infected OS?

Thanks

Answer:Scanning an infected OS externally as good as scanning it from it's own OS? [Moved]

Hi, I think your phone uses Android. You need to set it as mass storage device (or Mass Storage Mode) to allow your computer to "see" it. Please use the following instructions to set your phone up:                http://www.device-recovery.com/how-to-connect-android-devices-to-pc-with-usb-mass-storage-mode You may have to ask Kyocera how. Regards.

I tried to connect my Windows 7 computer to a Kyocera S2100 cell phonevia USB data cable. Windows and the phone recognized that a connectionhad been made, indicated by beeps from each, but Windows put up amessage saying it could not find a driver. The phone does not show upunder "Devices with removeable storage" in My Computer. One website says to go to Settings > Mode Settings on the phone andselect "Mass Storage Mode", but there is no "Mode Settings" on this phone. I asked Kyocera Technical Support if they had a driver, and the person therereplied: > We would be more than glad to provide you the drivers for your> Kyocera/Sanyo phone, However, We are focused in our Kyocera smart> phones at the moment, and the drivers for the featured phones have been> discontinued.> > If you need to transfer information from a featured phone, what you can do> is to get a special software that allows you to transfer information from any> phone to a computer, or to another phone directly, you can get more> information at: www.datapilot.com> > You can also try to go to a store from your service provider and ask them> to transfer the phone's information for you, since some stores have this> software.> > We are really sorry for the inconveniences, we would appreciate your> comprehension. Answer:Connect Kyocera s2100 cell phone to Windows 7 PC

If there is no mass storage mode on your phone, a new data cable of any kind won't make any difference.Check you phone settings again for "mass storage mode". Without that mode you cannot do what you are trying to do.The generic mass storage driver is built in to Windows but unless you can switch the phone to "mass storage mode" Windows won't be able to install that driver. If all you need to do is transfer data from/to the phone's memory card, buy a card reader & plug it in to your computer's USB port. Then remove the memory card from the phone and insert it in to the card reader. Than gets around your current problem as far as the memory card is concerned.message edited by phil22

I use Kaspersky antivirus plus periodic scanning by Defender to benefit from US & Russian security technologies.

I spotted there is a Defender option for offline scanning. Is there any advantage in using this compared to the periodic scanning option?

My  laptop is a Lenovo T61p running Windows 7 Enterprise. I use a Kyocera KCP650 cell phone modem which plugs into a PCMCIA slot as its internet connection. If I reboot the machine then the modem always works. If I unplug then re-insert the modem it
most likely will restart but not always. Likewise, if I put the machine into hibernation and then restart it then it will more often than not recognize and properly utilize the modem but not always.
In a failed condition, I can hear an audible confirmation that the system has recognized that something  has been plugged into the PCMCIA slot but the modem's lights are not lit. I can unplug and re-insert as many times as I'd like and will get the
audible indication that the system has discovered the new device but the modem's lights do not come on and the system insists that no modem is available. The only error indication I can find is a statement to the effect that the device driver could not be
loaded because one already has been. This is suggestive to me that the unplug event failed to properly close down the modem's device driver.
I've done the usual things, I've gone to the Lenovo and Kyocera sites, downloaded and installed the latest of everything that looks remotely useful. This has not improved the situation at all.
There are two possible desirable outcomes:
1) The best would be if someone could help me get the modem to properly start on the above described error condition.
2) Failing that, but I'd be s... Read more

Answer:Sometimes Kyocera PCMCIA cell phone modem doesn't start when plugged in

You need to discuss this with Kyocera.  The modem is over 5 years old and there is only one update for Windows Vista.  The is no information implying this is compatible with Windows 7.  Vista compatibility does not guarantee Win 7 compatibility.
Until Kyocera provides a solution to support Windows 7 you will never have full functionality and compatibility.
Sometimes Vista drivers can be installed in the Compatibility mode, but not always. Please remember to click ?Mark as Answer? on the post that helps you, and to click ?Unmark as Answer? if a marked post does not actually answer your question. Answer:zonealarm scanning when not scanning [unresolved]

Howdy justiceman34
You do realise that Zone Alarm has IM and email scanning going on all the time and periodically scans files and internet pages that you are browsing. It doesn't always show up on the ZA icon either (when the magnifying glass comes over the ZA icon)

I have some documents that I have to scan. I bought the Canon Canoscan 9000F a couple of years ago. I never even opened it until yesterday. I also have a copy of Adobe Acrobat X that came with my other document scanner. So what is the difference between scanning to JPEG and scanning to PDF? I am leaning on scanning to JPEG because I want to also insert some of these documents into Microsoft OneNote. If I scan straight to PDF, then I'm not sure how to extract the document from the PDF and then insert it into OneNote later.

I plan to scan at 300dpi and if I scan to JPEG, at least I can import it into both Acrobat X and OneNote and use the programs to OCR the JPEGs. I can do that right? I think the OCR quality and speed will be better either Acrobat X or OneNote over ScanGear and MP Navigator EX (Canon's software). I think scanning to JPEG will take up more time, but might make my workflow easier given what I plan to do.

Any comments on how I should proceed with this?

Answer:What is the difference between scanning to JPEG and scanning to PDF?

Not sure specifically, but I know that Acrobat X can easily convert JPEGs into PDFs (it can even do several/hundreds of files as a batch conversion operation).

FILE -> CREATE -> PDFs from File...

It (Acrobat) also has a built-in OCR function, so you would be good to go there too.

TOOLS -> RECOGNIZE TEXT

So you can easily go form JPGs to PDFs as needed with what you already have, so that may be the most universal way to approach this IMO.

PCs are Win 7 Ultimate, All are joined to the Domain
Domain Controller, DNS, DHCP Server (on same instance) is Server 2012 standard
The network topology is like this: Router as Internet Gateway>Switch>Wired to Server and PC's, SIP phones, and Wireless Access Point all on same subnet. DNS and DHCP have been offloaded to Server Roles and switched off on the router.
All of the PCs have network cards that have joined the domain network at least some of the time since I set them up.
Some of them have always picked up the domain network and continue to this day.
Some of them intermittently pick up the domain network and other times join whatever other unmanaged network is available.
Some of them have stopped picking up the domain network altogether and will, no matter how many times their NICs are restarted, always join a non-domain (unmanaged) network.
When the NICs are not joining the domain, they are unable to ping hostnames of any devices on the network but nslookup of the hostnames usually works. The DC, DNS, DHCP server's IP can be pinged without issue, ipv4 or ipv6.
I am recording DNS Client Errors (ID 1014) on all of the PCs during the intervals when their NICs are identifying which network to join.

-On the PCs that are catching the domain network I am only getting a single error about the root domain, eg the domain is ad.domain.com and I am only getting errors about how the configured DNS servers cannot resolve domain.com (nothing with fully qualified

problems scanning

I WANT to proceed with the advice in the sticky to clean out my comp but i know it will be a waste of time right now. Any scans i have done on my own including NAV and any of the online scans for viruses and trojans ect.. all stop midway at the same point and then everything freezes up. It seems to be at Temporary Internet files\Content.IE5\3WJGBD\CAY404EU.bin

I have tried to get at this file to possibly delete it but as soon as i go near the temporary internet files I get error warning and everything freezes. Also tried all these measures in safe mode and same result. Would like to correct this so i can follow advice in the forum sticky. Sorry to be a pain!
