Mass/Bulk Image Converter Program

Question: Mass/Bulk Image Converter Program

I have a ton of BMP's I want to change to JPEG's.

I searched and found a few different programs but I thought I would check here for some suggestions. I don't really need anything with a lot of bells and whistles, just something that's good quality, easy to use, and free.

Preferred Solution: Mass/Bulk Image Converter Program

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

ImageMagick makes it very easy from command line, and being command line there are no bells and whistles.

When installed and the DLL is registered you have all the commands available from command line, no need to start any programs to do graphics manipulations, tons of options if you read up on it on

What you want would be as simple as opening a command prompt, go to the Dir with your pics, and type...
mogrify -format jpg *.bmp
...and that's all.

But as said, it can do MANY other things, if you read up on it.

Does anyone know a good one that will convert hundreds of images from bmp to jpg at once? Ones without annoying trial stamps adding onto your images... Maybe even a Photoshop plugin @[email protected]? I have Adobe Photoshop CS2

I have 400 BMP image files that need to be converted...

Answer:Mass Image Converter

You don't need a plugin to do it in Photoshop - just create a batch job - you can probably find info about it in the help files.

I'm looking for a program that can add a watermark to images in bulk. This isn't the standard watermark where it is overlayed onto the existing image. I want to be able to add, say, 50px to the bottom of the image canvas and write the watermark there on the new white space.Freeware would be nice but anything will do.

Answer:Good program to add a watermark to image in bulk?

I haven't used this or any watermark programs, but this one surely warrants a look:

Help! An unknown family member used my PC for several days while I was away and I returned home to do work online and got a browser redirect to a message from my ISP stating that bulk mailing/virus activity has been noticed coming from my machine. My internet access is suspended until the problem is resolved. I called the ISP to confirm just in case it was another trojan redirect/browser hi-jacker, etc. I was given a list of utilities to scan my PC with and I followed through with all and then some! I have scanned and cleaned the PC with F-stop, Panda, HouseCall, BitDefender, ZoneAlarm, Spybot, AdAware, Windows Defender, The Stinger, Various McAfee utilities and about a dozen other utilities. They all found various malware/spyware/viruses/bad files etc. and removed them. I monitored all connections in and out and noticed a bunch of sends on port 25. I killed nearly all my running processes and I then enabled ZoneAlarm firewall and right away, it gave alerts and began blocking something from sending out email messages every few seconds with no end in sight. It's also blocking all sorts of incoming connections every couple of seconds. I'm sure this is preventing the emails from being sent out and blocking out intruders but whatever is causing this emailing problem is still on the machine. Every few seconds ZoneAlarm pops up with something along these lines:

"The firewall has blocked Internet access to your computer (TCP Port 2967) from (TCP Port ... Read more

Answer:Bulk/Mass E-Mails being sent

I forgot to mention that my ISP unblocked my internet access to allow me to run utilities they suggested I try. I'm still getting non-stop alerts and sent e-mail alerts. Even got an alert stating that a couple programs were trying to be servers.

Arrrgghh... over 1100 intrusions (10+ high-rated) have been blocked by ZoneAlarm just since I got my internet connection back. This must have something to do with the e-mail virus. Anybody out there? I'm ready to tackle this nasty little bug.... :)

Thanks again!

Hello friends!

We have recently opened a company in which we will require to send in same emails of hundreds of out clients. What basically I need is a software in which I can just add in the names or email address of my clients and the software should automatically check weather the same email address is already present in the database. If present, it shouldn't add it again. Thereafter, when ever I need to send the mails, it should present me with the complete list of all email addresses which I just need to copy and paste to the address bar in Outlook Express. If a filtering option is available, it would be even better.

Now, is there any such software available. I am sure there are as all these big companies do such kind of work. Please guide me as to how can this be achieved.

This wont be used for spamming.

Thank you.

Answer:Bulk(Mass) Mailing System???

I use GroupMail for my mass e-mailing needs:

They have a free version, and the only restriction is that you can only send up to 100 e-mails at one time, but it does allow you to set filters, so you can send 1-100; 101-200; 201-300 etc

The personal edition costs $99 and unlocks that silly restriction.

I have thousands of WAV files that I must start converting to MP3 to save drive space. I've tried a few bulk converters in the past and got a little discouraged because I would occasionally find an MP3 that was corrupt and would not play. I know the WAVs they were converted from were good as I still had them all on hand.

I need a BULK converter that is reliable and I don't mind paying a modest price. Having thousands to convert, it just has to have bulk capability and it has to be 99.99% accurate.

The size of the WAVs range from a few kilobytes to 170 megs and are all simple voice recordings so I don't need any fancy controls.

I've got a little problem.....i have a folder with a LOT of images (.jpgs).

I need to resize them ALL. The only way I can figure out doing this is opening them one by one in my image editor, resizing, saving, going to the next one.

With several hundred images, I would love to be able to do this in bulk. They all will be the same size when I am done with them.

Can this be done?

I am looking for a FREE bulk image downloader program or chrome extension that will not crash my browser.

I want to use the program/extension to quickly download the pics I've shared on Facebook and Tumblr. Because it would take HOURS to go through and download each one by one.

I've tried a few extensions already, but each of them crashed chrome because they tried to save them by opening a "save as" window for each. So I need a program that allows you to save them into a folder or into compressed file/folder so that it doesn't crash my browser or my computer.

Any ideas??

I'm working on a project right now but I've run into a problem. I have a CSV list of URLs for around 700 images and I need to download, resize, and rename them all. Manually this will take way too long for the project to be practical in any way by downloading each URL one at a time.

Is there a program out there that can take a list of image URLs and auto download them all? Would be a huge help if anyone knows of one. I've tried searching for one but all the one's I've found only work one URL at a time.

I'm new to these forums so if this is in the wrong forum let me know.

I've found quite a few programs that will resize images in bulk, but none of them will quite do what I'm looking for.

I need to convert a number of images with various sizes (175x25, 140x100, 110x50, etc.) into 250x250. However, I don't want to stretch the original image, just add white trim around the outside of the image to make it 250x250. Any software I've found will only stretch the image. I can't do each image individually, because I have over 30,000 of them to go through. Does anyone know software that would do that in bulk?

Apologies - the Urgent in this is only because I'm unsure whether any action may need to be done before I close down in about 6 hours or so.

Basically my problem began in Picasa 3 where I watched a short vid then decided to change the filename. That done I closed the preview & went back to the main program where I discovered that Picasa had somehow decided I wanted the entire folder of images renamed so it has worked through the 500+ images and renamed each one as Filename001, Filename002, Filename003 and so on which as you can appreciate is now causing somewhat of a major headache for me. It would take me a good few hours I would rarely have to go through and rename each one manually, so my question basically is - is there any method or program that can undo the action as I can't find any means of doing so from within Picasa. All other options I've found in my searches are mainly to achieve pretty much the same i.e. bulk rename as Name1, Name2 etc so are of little help.

Anyone any suggestions what else I could try?

Occasionally, I find a need to copy files from one disk to another and when I do, must answer "yes" or "no" when asked whether I want to replace a newer or older file.

This is not bad for a few files but if a few hundred files are involved, it would be nice to have a program or way to tell it to automatically replace older files.

Anyone know of a way to do this or a program that will do it.

if there is a common naming convention used and all the full sized imaged are in the same directory, then you can use wget to download them. You could also use wget in a batch file with a for/next loop if they are numbered sequentially.

I used to see file editors back in the early days and never was able to handle them due to arcane
help files, TMI and other problems associated with pedantry in lingo.

Soon I will need to edit my HD of duplicates and no longer- needed items.

Please don't mention the "ability" to hold down the control key and make a box and delete what's inside.

No, what I need is something along the line of a wildcard delete such as delete myfile*.*

Is there anything like that in Win7 freeware? Something with a bit more control than
a screen full of highlighted things or the opposite: clicking each and every item, delete and confirm?

Answer:A file editing routine in Win7 or a program to deal with bulk files

Your title says "file editing". Your text refers to deleting.

Are you talking about identifying duplicate files and deleting the duplicates, so that you have only 1 version?

Are you referring only to files that have the same exact name, regardless of content? Or do you mean files with the same content, regardless of name?

Text files? Pictures? What file extensions generally?

You can do a lot from the command line using switches and wild cards.

There are good duplicate file finder applications. And the "Everything" search engine is great for finding files with identical names.

So with the death of WinXP, I am going to be embarking on a quest to install 33 new PCs and recondition another 20 at the speed of lightning. I want to take one of the new PCs, install the apps that I want to install, then create an image to use on the other PCs so that I only do one actual install. Unfortunately, I don't know how to do this and I can't seem to find a good guide on the net. I had a smaller 16 PC deployment I did a few months back using an Acronis Live disk and did a partition clone which worked well enough but there were some oddities that still required at least 15-30 minutes of time spent with each machine. I'd like to be able to image them and they're ready to go. They're all Dell machines with Windows 8/8.1 Pro(I didn't order them so I don't know which exactly) who's Windows product keys are embedded in BIOS. The image would also contain an installation of Microsoft Office...if that matters any.

Also, if it can be done using Deployment services that would be awesome...though that's still a bit of a mystery as to how I would get an image created and then imported into WDS properly...

Question: Image Converter

I've been experimenting with a catalog program that allows you store images and text for any entry. I was going to ask what program you use to convert bmp images to jpg but I came across this on-line one.

Free Online Image Converter
Here you can convert most commonly used graphic image formats - BMP, JPG, PNG, GIF or ICO. Our Online Image Converter is quick and reliable, and what is most important quite easy-to-use.

Example: you need to convert a jpg file into bmp. Use the ?Browse? button to select the source JPG file on your local PC, then click the ?Convert to BMP? link. Done.

Convert to BMP
Convert to JPEG
Convert to PNG
Convert to GIF
Convert to ICO

It only does one file at a time (doh) so I am still interested in a bulk re-sizer (preferably) that I can download that converts bmp to jpg.

Any suggestions? Bazza

I'm looking for an image format converter, but before you point to the standard converters, like .png to .jpg or .gif to .ico, let me point out that the format I want to convert from is machine language.
I have an old email archived, and it has an image shown in the form "iVBORw0KGgoAAAANSUhEUgAAAZQAAAEqCAIAAAC9ZzHyAAAACXBIWXMAAA7EAAAOxAGVKw4bAAAA . . ." (that's what I'm calling "machine language", though that may not be correct . . . but you get the point).
I know that particular image is a color photo. What I would like to do is take that "code" and convert it back to an image format, like .jpg or .png, so that I can view it.
I have a vague memory that I ran across something like that one time, but if I do a Google search on "image converter" all I get is the standard stuff that converts those .jpg to .png and .gif to .ico and such. That's not what I'm looking for.
And if I do a Google search on "binary images" all I get is stuff about black and white and pixels for two colors and such. So that's not it either.
Does the animal I'm looking for exist?
(BTW, my OS is Ubuntu . . . which is why I'm asking this question in this forum . . . so Windows graphics editors are out. Well . . . I guess I can somehow manipulate it over to my Windows VM if I have to, but I'd prefer something in Ubuntu.)

Someone I know who helps run a dance academy needs to send a regular newsletter to their members and is in need of a mass mailer and wanted me to research that since I mentioned about them. Our ISP here does not allow mass mail due to lot of people who get viruses that send out spam, so it would need to have the option to send a bit at a time.

I googled and there's tons of em, but this is kinda a shady type of software and I don't want to be randomly installing stuff not knowing it could have viruses or spyware. These days it's risky to just google for software, not knowing what's good and what's bad.

So wondering if anyone has first hand experience with either a free application, or a free web service, that can mail out newsletters.

I could easily write something like this, but I'm sure there's some decent ones out there already made.

Answer:Mass mailer program

Im not an expert on this subject but I don't think there are free mass mailers because of the reason you mentioned above. Any program you download will probably need an SMTP server (which you will have to pay for because your ISP doesn't let you mass mail).

What is the domain you are sending the mail from? Most free email service providers limit the number emails you can send a day, I know gmail only lets you email 500 people at a time.

On another note, I know there are newsletter services out there that you can gave people at your dance academy sign up for. Google Groups does it ( and its free.

I need a program that lets me view a large list of numbers/names combined from 1000s of different web pages. i either need a program to do this, or need to know how to write one.

i use a stock tracking website game, in which there are thousands of people playing. there are several values:

Name-Account type-Starting value-current value

and some others. i really only need to sort the numbers. unfortunately, i have to be able to get these statistics from 1000 pages, then order them all, in descending order starting from the top.

Is there any program that can do this automatically, or is there any way i could obtain a program-writing program that would let me do this?

specifically, the file is a .sig file from The Print Shop 10.0 (don't laugh) and a .MVB, .BMP, .JPG, .PCX, .PNG, .TIF, .WMF output is all acceptable.

I'm using Memorex Label Design Studio software to make a DVD case label, an I would like a little more control over the design, so I was going to use a file from Printshop that I would use to make the actual label. But I found I couldn't just import anything I wanted, only picture files.

I record a lot of videos on my iPhone 4S, and sometimes I forget about proper orientation and end up recording "upside down" or vertically. I am looking for a utility that can covert the .mov files to .mp4 with the ability to rotate the orientation during the conversion process. I frequently use Handbrake but I've found it lacks this feature. Many of the files I've converted will display upside down or sideways due to the various orientations allowed during recording on the iPhone.

Interestingly, the original .mov files will display correctly when played back on iPhone, iTunes or streamed to Apple TV, but the converted .mp4 files seem to lose their sense of orientation (so to speak).

I like to convert to .mp4 for WiFi steaming due to the much smaller file size. I can usually achieve 60-70% reduced file size after conversion to .mp4 using Handbrake, but the orientation remains an issue. If anyone knows of another tool that can handle this I would love to hear. Thanks

Depending what's being done when going from MOV to MP4, the rotation EXIF metadata can potentially be lost. Even if it's kept, there's no guarantee that the software/device used to play the video back even supports rotating the video.

If you aren't intimidated by command line programs, ffmpeg can do exactly what you want.
ffmpeg -i -vf "transpose=1" output.mp4
This basic command line will transpose the video 90° clockwise (other directions are possible) and reencode it to H.264/AAC in MP4, the default audio/video format when specifying .mp4 as the output file (can be changed, naturally).

After digging, it seems Handbrake can rotate but only via command line. Maybe you can edit the command line options in the Handbrake GUI somewhere to add --rotate # somewhere?

Thanks in advance.

Answer:Looking for a Mass Email Program. Suggestions?

i use group mail from infacta , the free version. they also have several different 'cost' versions

i tried a few different ones, too many have spyware or just didn't do what i wanted in a group mailer

i send out a weekly newsletter to 100+ addresses arranged in 4-5 different groups

some features/things it does:
import/export database data easily
use different 'from' headers
use different smtp settings
do full or partial sends
do test sends
keeps a log of sent emails

and so on, worth a look IMHO

A friend of mine volunteers for a non-profit organization that has about 3000 members. He needs the ability to send emails out to all the members. Currently, he coppies and pastes the email addresses. Needless to say, he spends all day sending out a single newsletter/email due to obvious limitations in standard email programs.

I did a search for such programs but get so many results I don't know which ones are legitimate/good and which are just cheap crap programs.

Does anyone know of any good, yet inexpensive software that will do what he needs?

I suggested he look at google groups or something similar but he said that it's not ideal. It is a fall back solution though if finding a software solution is not possible.

**Updated, now version 1.5.0**

I was tired of all the terrible options available online, especially with most of them wanting money just to be able to batch convert a folder full of images, so I made this app. Hopefully someone else also finds this app useful to them.

-Converts an entire folder at once
-Can convert to all of the popular formats
-Supports percent based and exact size resizing
-Settings persist when application closes
-Light weight and fast
-Open Source GPL
-Single EXE for 32bit and 64bit
-Requires .NET 2.0 or later
-Should run under Mono on Linux and MacOSX (not yet tested)
New in v1.4.0
-Fixed some bugs with the state persisting when app is closed
-Added recursive directory support
-Added tool tips
New in v1.5.0
-Added aspect ratio locking
-Fixed a nasty crash that would happen if you exited the program while a conversion was in progress
-Cleaned up some code

Is there a program out there that keeps record a database of its own on NTFS security permissions? Recently in quick bandage we had to move our fileserver files (containing all departmental folders, a globally accessible folder, and a folder accessible only to each division) to another server... entirely losing NTFS permissions in the process

It would be handy to have a program that would have kept a 'profile' of what NTFS permissions are supposed to be for any folder touched beyond defaults), and just point this program at the new location and have it go through doing the hard work and re-apply several hundred unique permissions).

Answer:Program that keeps own record of NTFS security permissions for mass re-application?

I'm not sure I've ever seen a program that does what you're looking for, but then again I've never looked.... I do know that you can use powershell to export permissions, set permissions and with just a few lines of script, copy them (see the get-acl and set-acl commandlets). You should be able to export the results of get-acl for later reuse or analysis if you wish too...

Aside from that, maybe more important... Next time you need to copy files and want to retain the permissions, use robocopy. (Native command in 2008 and later, previous to that you had to get it from the resource kit...) It will allow you to copy all the files and directories and keep all their permissions, timestamps, etc... The command line help is extensive, and there are a lot of options... Read the help and let me know if you have any questions...

I recently had to install a new hard drive and reinstall all of my programs. One of the programs is called Siren Jukebox (v 1.5) by Sonic Foundry which converts mp3 files to a format that can be played on regular CD players. This program worked fine before I changed the hard drive. I also installed a similar program, Canon's eJay MP3, which is supposed to do the same thing. However, neither program will allow me to close the CD session which would allow for the playing of CD's created by the programs. I have been able to use the CD-RW drive to make copies of program CD's. My CD-RW is Sony's CRX-100E. The software is Adaptec's Easy CD CReator (v.3.5c). Answer:The image color in Windows Photo Gallery is wrong, same image in other program color is correct.

Windows photo gallery is not colour profile aware, so assumes your monitor is sRGB.  The same is true of the desktop wallpaper.  There is nothing you can do about this, other than use a different default picture viewing application as default, or convert your images to the ICC profile of your monitor (which you can do in photoshop).  I would only recommend this for wallpapers though.

now just SAVE AS ... and change the format to jpg and add .jpg to the file name

Any decent programs around to convert to 16 bit. Note I'm using decent headphones so I don't want some mushy mp3 sound played using those hideous cheap bud type phones (usually more people Not wearing them hear the "music" than the wearers --especially the apple white one's !!!).

K3b (on Linux) will do it in a bit of a roundabout way --burn to a "Virtual audio CD" losslessly which preserves the sampling rate but you then need to re-rip again to get FLAC files for your device (and sometimes you have to re-tag too). For CD audio it will change the files to 16 bit which plays just fine and is standard for CD's but for CD's - you want to keep the decent sampling rate though

I'm looking for a simple quick way to do it !! on Windows and preferably Free without complicated "Dithering options" etc..

I was just wondering how a user made his signature have variables in a jpeg image? I didn't think it would be possible. Could someone please enlighten me?

Answer:How would one program an image like this?

PHP and other SS languages can add parts to images or make images. Look at webmonkey for a PHP tutorial on making images.

Sorry this seems like a silly question, but I used to have XP and I used a program that came with it as my default picture viewer, it wasn't paint. I now have Win 7 and I miss that program. The only picture editing I do is real simple stuff like resizing, turning up/down brightness, etc. That program was perfect for those aps and I just got used to it.

I want to try and find it to put on my current system, unfortunately I can't remember what it was called. I had it set as the default program to open pictures and the icon on pics looked like a sunset.

Can somebody please identify that program for me? Thanks.
